Starting point is 00:00:00 It's August 29th, 4.30 p.m. I'm waiting in the medical examiner's office. Rich Founder has finally made time to see me. Since he doesn't like being recorded, I'll be hiding it in my pocket. Rolling. Rich, thank you for seeing me. I told you, it's not finished yet. I already sent their preliminary. to Kent. And Kent looked over the preliminary. We need more. I don't know I have a final report for at least another week, but two weeks would be, you know, a little more reasonable. Two weeks? You know how this shit goes. Bloods at the lab. I have a clinical report under my review at the U.F. Department of Pathology and... Spare me, Rich. Give me something.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Is there something you want? The scars. The burns. What about them? Tell me about them. It's already in the report. Why are they all face down? That's not in the report. She did that on purpose. Well, yeah, most likely.
Starting point is 00:01:11 But if you're here to ask me why, I can't... I'm not. I just need to know more about them. I've come across some information and waiting for the final report is driving me up the wall. Well, something that was in the preliminary, if you read it,
Starting point is 00:01:27 was the fact that most likely it It took a good, we'll say, 10 minutes to do the scarring. It was written that the scarring was done prior to the murder. That appears to be the case. So she took 10 minutes to burn herself before carrying out her deed. I mean, yeah, give her take a couple minutes, but the skin began to scar shortly after that. That's why the skin was bubbled upon her death. Does that help? Yes.
Starting point is 00:01:55 I don't mean to be an asshole, but we've been swapped over here. Count this Emily Rose's fan. and another two she shot, which by the way keeps getting incorrectly reported. It's two deaths, not three, not four. We know. The other victim is in critical condition. The local paper is misprinted. Well, count this whole ordeal with several other murder cases that came in today. A few call-out, and you can see why we're backed up.
Starting point is 00:02:20 The other bodies? The other cases? No. I'm talking Emily Rose here. Her family, the two victims on the street. on the street. What about? Anything of interest? ROND. Come on. Help me out. Most of this stuff isn't even finalized.
Starting point is 00:02:42 So you're going to make me wait? Roll it. Rich. Okay. Fine. Have you ever heard of Matamel? Matamel? No. It's an herb. I believe it only grows in certain parts of Indonesia. You had some?
Starting point is 00:03:04 We sent it out to get tested. Found it on the husband, the kids, and the victims in the street. She sprinkled over them after killing them. She took time out to drop bits of herb on her victims? Apparently. Where did she get it? Probably ordered it online. The herb is known to be used for certain ancient rituals.
Starting point is 00:03:25 That's creepy. Alright Roland, is there anything else I can help you with? No, no. Have a good night. Oh, and Roland, thanks for not bringing the tape recorder. Welcome. I don't know. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Thank you. Thank you.
