Now in the street, there is violence.
Starting point is 00:02:27 And I'm not allowed to stop it. We're off to Dundan. No place to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone.
Starting point is 00:02:35 It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone.
Starting point is 00:02:43 It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. It's not allowed to hang out alone. Now in the street there is violence and then a lot of stuff worth to do done. No place to hang out or washing and then I can't stay all on the sun. Oh no, we're gonna rock it down too. He let Shrek I renew and then we're taking higher. Oh we're gonna higher. Oh, we got a round down to. It's pardoned my take. There's enough of our Swiss sports.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Yeah. Welcome to part of my take. Today is Friday, January 5th, and we have reached the finale of the NFL regular season, week 18. It came fast boys. You know what? I'm gonna say it. This is not a Rick Petito joke. This is the start of the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:03:30 This is the start of the playoffs. We got playoffs this. Well, there's some teams who've already been playing in the playoffs. Yeah, well, some teams since like week one. Yeah, but yeah, we got playoffs games this weekend. We got playoffs games this weekend. We've got a full week 18 card, a couple Saturday games, full Sunday slate.
Starting point is 00:03:46 I'm just going to say it right now, enjoy it, embrace it, the chaos. I know there's some games that don't mean anything, but there's enough games that have enough implications. I'm very excited for this last full Sunday that we will get to spend together watching all the games. Yes, we're living all the chaos, but we did get here. And we got here fast. It goes the seasons change.
Starting point is 00:04:08 What was your favorite moment of the 2022 regular season? 2023 regular season. Oh, there were so many good moments this year. I really liked the Caderius Tony storyline. Yep, that was good. It was fun fall along with that. I liked that one guy's girlfriend. What's her name? Travis Kelsey's girlfriend. What's her name?
Starting point is 00:04:25 Travis Kelsey's girlfriend. What's her name? I thought you're gonna say the gymnast. I think she's the singer. Oh, yeah, the singer. The singer, yeah, the gymnast also. The gymnast who's dating the guy in Green Bay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:36 She, did she win anything? Julie Eertz's husband getting injured. I'd say the number one story from the 2023 NFL regular season is everyone's favorite quarterback got hurt. Yeah, except for Lamar. Except for Lamar, who's won the MVP. Congratulations Lamar. Congratulations.
Starting point is 00:04:53 He has won the MVP. But yes, we have a full week 18 to get through. So I split it up this week. You stole my ramp pen. Oh, oh yeah, I was using it for the dozen. That's not for you. I was I was I had to had to do some Jeff D. Lo trivia Okay, so week 18 we have four games that mean absolutely nothing so I wanted to just say them out loud so people can be like
Starting point is 00:05:17 Did you talk about them? Yes, maybe even put a timestamp Browns and Bengals jets of Patriots Broncos at Raiders. Oh whoa whoa whoa. Yeah, it mean nothing. Uh, disagree Patriots mean a lot. It does mean a lot actually that one. Browns of Bengals means nothing. Well, go slowly. Browns of Bengals means nothing It means absolutely nothing nothing. Nothing happens. No, no, no, no injuries The real story behind this is actually by favorite story of the entire NFL season the comeback of Joe Flacco Yes, Joe Flacco being back to the point where he's being rested as a star. Yes. In the last game of the season, who would have thought it's amazing.
Starting point is 00:05:49 And I heard our good friend, Mark Titus, was saying that the debate of Joe Flacco versus Damar Hamlin for come back player of the year really comes down to what's more impressive coming back from the dead or taking the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs. Mm-hmm. I actually think it's a little bit different. I would say that coming back from playing for the New York Jets is more impressive than coming back from the dead. And then taking the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Yeah, he's basically the next Jesus. Yeah, it's insane what he's done. And I feel like the nation should be rooting for the Browns. Agreed. America's team, the Browns of the Lions, are the Michigan. We're already tied up Agreed. America's team, the Browns are the Lions. Are the Michigan. We're already tied up with Michigan being a American team. No, the Browns and the Lions, if you're just going off, off like vibes of what you would
Starting point is 00:06:33 like to see happen, if you're rooting for the underdog, those are your two teams that you're rooting for. There are the two teams that if you don't even bet on them, like as a sports fan, I'm just like, yeah, it would be nice. Let them have something. Right. Right. Right. Like, no money involved, Just like, that'd be cool. Exactly. Yeah. All right. So Browns and Bengals means something. I'll push the Jets Patriots to
Starting point is 00:06:53 mean something. Broncos it Raiders also means nothing. As long as we assume that Antonio Pierce has been hired full time. Again, they should just remove that title, make him head coach for life, or at least just remove the interim tag before the game, and get a nice little boost. I also think that the Raiders should remind people on Black Monday, we fire Josh McDaniels. Yes. You want to get that, you want to re-bump that,
Starting point is 00:07:18 re-bump the stream when it comes to that. Yeah, your chefs are should retweet themselves. Yes, we remember this guy did get fired this year. Yeah. But yeah, this game really doesn't mean anything except you've got already a lot of the players of the Raiders coming out saying like, keep AP, keep AP, keep AP. It didn't work last time, but I think it's going to work this time. I also think that the Raiders, I will probably even though this game means nothing, bet on the Raiders simply in an old algorithm that I have, team that likes their head coach or interim head coach
Starting point is 00:07:49 versus team that hates their head coach. Do you think they hate not dating? Yeah, oh yeah, I think there's some guys that don't like them. They're probably through the whole offensive of the bus. Yeah, probably a couple of guys on the team don't like them that much, but also a couple of guys on the team probably didn't like Russ Wilson that much.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Yeah, but it doesn't feel like the Broncos are probably gonna do a pretty big change over. Sean Payton's gotta get his guys in. Yes, all his guys. He's gotta get his guys in. So then the last game that doesn't mean anything, Chiefs at Chargers means nothing. Chiefs are gonna be resting.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Starters, Chiefs are gonna hopefully become the dangerous team that everyone's been waiting for them to become and the chargers. They also need to remind everyone they fire Brandon's daily. Yes, they need to re-bump that as well. I feel like the chiefs are running like two separate practices this week, this week's team, and then the real team that they're gonna be playing with in the playoffs. Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:41 I did see a story come out the other day though. Travis Kelsey will not be attending the Golden Globe Awards. Oh, I think it was the Golden Globes. Is he got a work? He has to work because it's on a Sunday. Oh, Taylor Swift was gonna be there. You have to wonder, Trouble and Paradise. Not there to support Boo.
Starting point is 00:08:57 I personally would go to Taylor Swift's awards ceremony. How many games does Taylor Swift can do this year? Like, like 10? All of them? Yeah. And he can't go to one little award show? It seems toxic. How many games is Taylor Swift gone to this year? Like 10? All of them? Yeah. And he can't go to one little award show? It seems toxic.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Are the Chiefs a better team if Travis Kelsey goes to the award show instead of play? It might be. Taylor deserves to be there. That's all I'm saying. Alright, so let's get to the games to batter. We'll go through these games in chronological order. So we're starting with the Steelers and the Ravens on Saturday afternoon. The Steelers need to win and also have a Bill's loss or Jaguars loss to get in. The Ravens have the one seed wrapped up.
Starting point is 00:09:34 We get to do the rest first rust debate. It does feel like the Ravens are going to sit some of their key starters, which I think they should do. Yes, but I am of the belief that Tyler Huntley and this way this game goes, that the Ravens are very live in this game. I think they're live in this game because the Ravens are the best team in the NFL at playing games like this. Yeah. Like, Harbohl prepares them to do this
Starting point is 00:09:57 in the preseason. So they don't lose in the preseason. Harbohl takes it seriously. It doesn't matter if his second stringers are in, third stringers are in. They're trying to win those games. So it feels like the backup players on the Ravens are going to be more ready to go ahead and execute. And then any other team and there's just a simple math. You can't sit everyone. Yeah. You can't sit everyone. You need to have some guys out there. So you'll sit Lamar Jackson. I would assume, you know, Odell will sit. I'm assuming, you know
Starting point is 00:10:28 Rhoquan probably sit probably Humphrey likely. Yeah, there's probably some defensive guys They got to sit just because you know Ravens have had some bad luck from time to time But I as good as the Steelers been playing with Mason Rudolph When you're getting three and a half points in the Steelers versus Ravens I don't care. Just tell me who has the plus sign next to him. Throughout the record books. It doesn't matter. I think this also happened in, I think the year the Ravens got the one seed, they played
Starting point is 00:10:53 the Steelers week A team and none has been played for it. I think RG3 beat him. Yeah. Yeah, I remember that game. So like that shows you that I would not, I would not think the Ravens are going to be just to push over on Saturday afternoon. I don't think they are at all I don't think any teams really push over for the Steelers. They have to kind of fight everything out. That's true Weird ref crew alert. It's the same. It's the same refs as in the the Cowboys Lions game
Starting point is 00:11:17 We thought they'd be done for the season. They're back and maybe one of the most important games Why would they put them on this game? Why would they put them in a standalone game? It's so stupid. You got to bury that ref crew when there's like six other games kicking off. Yeah, there's nothing going on on Saturday afternoon. I was gonna watch this game. We're gonna be focused on this
Starting point is 00:11:33 and hopefully nothing weird happens, but it's these guys, so probably. Yeah, these guys. It's these guys. All you gotta do is say these guys. These guys are gonna be our TV. TJ Watt also going for the sack lead in the NFL. He's at 17 right now, which puts him at number one. This would make him a three-time
Starting point is 00:11:51 NFL sack champion, which I don't think has been done before. Also, TJ Watt, we talk about the baby bump. Is there a Jersey Jerry bump? I think there could be because our guy Jersey Jerry, if you didn't tune in, spent 37 hours trying to hit a hole in one He finally did it and the 37th hour. He was what 26,000 2,600 strokes to get a hole in one on the simulator and And classic Jerry fashion. We've had Jerry on the show a couple times Most of our audience knows him. He used his Speech is we're like we need a speech. There was a hundred thousand people watching on YouTube and a speech was basically, I think this is earned me a dinner with TJ Watt, please go to dinner with me,
Starting point is 00:12:29 TJ Watt. Yeah, yeah, and so Jerry, I think Jerry will show TJ the same respect that TJ showed Jerry by watching the stream. Yeah, Jerry will be watching this game. Yeah, I feel like TJ will, TJ is gonna be like, what would Jerry do when he's trying to get this sack record? Yep.
Starting point is 00:12:44 I don't see it any other way. This is going to be bully mode for TJ. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. So this is actually, I'm looking forward to this game. I always look forward to the Steelers Ravens game. This time it kind of means something.
Starting point is 00:12:56 I want the Steelers to win because I'd like to see the Steelers in the playoffs. Yeah. Reach that point. Earlier this year, I was saying, if there's one team, I do not want to see not in the terms of like, you don't want to run into the team in the playoffs. I did not want to see the Steelers in the playoffs. Now I kind of do. Now it's the Jaguars.
Starting point is 00:13:13 I don't want to see the Jaguars in the playoffs. I want the Steelers to win. I want the Texans Colt winner would get in and the bills to win. And then you get the Jaguars out of the playoffs. Yes, that's what I would. That would be a great setup. Ideally.
Starting point is 00:13:24 And I'm sorry to Jags fans, but like, it's tough watch. Yeah, it's tough watch. You know, yeah. Okay, nerd nugget from you, Jake. The Steelers are 13 and three and regular season finale since 2007, when Mike Tomlin took the reins as head coach Pittsburgh. There are 13 victories and regular season finales
Starting point is 00:13:42 under Tomlin, the most in the NFL since 2000. Okay, That is interesting He has already gotten his ninth win. Yeah, I have my bird nugget of the week Oh, actually for this game for the Ravens skull. Did you know that a group of Ravens is called a murder? Oh, I did know that actually in a tribute to my Lewis. Yes. I did know that also crows Also, I don't know if this is good bit or not But I've maybe my firefests a week ahead of time I downloaded an AI voice and video simulator Also, I don't know if this is good bit or not, but I've maybe my firefests a week ahead of time.
Starting point is 00:14:05 I downloaded an AI voice and video simulator, and I've just been using it all afternoon, doing celebrities, just like typing stuff to keep myself entertained. I have, actually, we have a special guest, Donald Trump, who has a prediction for this game if you'd like to hear it. Okay. Let's just see what Donald Trump has to say. You know, Lamar is really one of the top guys, very fast with those feet of his. He is also a great supporter of our tremendous movement. I'll never forget when he tweeted, trust Trump. But I like Pittsburgh this weekend, guys. I know firsthand how hard it is to stop the steal on January 6th. Okay, so that's Trump's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:14:44 He's on the Steelers this weekend. That's pretty good. Yeah Okay, so that's Trump's pretty good. He's on the Steelers this weekend. That's pretty good. That's pretty good. That's pretty good. Yeah, that's pretty good, A.A. We're fucked. As a society, we're fucked. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:54 Although Jerry just beat the machine. That's true. Yeah. Jerry might be the guy we need like at the front of the army. He's, I'll take down a machine. He's John Henry. Yeah, someone's not doing boomers of you guys a few weeks ago. Yeah, it didn't sound that close though.
Starting point is 00:15:07 But they're trying. Yeah, they're trying. Yeah. Okay. Next game. Next game. We have the Texans and the Colts, a playoff game. It is a playoff game.
Starting point is 00:15:18 So these teams, whoever wins this game will be in the playoffs. I will be happy with either result because I think both teams have had great seasons in different ways. The Colts were supposed to do nothing. They get, you know, Anthony Richardson hurt Shane Steichen keeps them alive. They're now playing a home playoff game to get into the playoffs. And then CJ Stroud has been one of the stories of this year and how incredible he's been as a rookie. So like both these teams have their own wrinkles and stories
Starting point is 00:15:50 that I'd be like, you know what, that's awesome that they made the playoffs. I'm gonna go ahead and say it, which ever team loses this game, they have nothing to hang their head over. Nope. Nothing to hang your head over. You have something to build on. You get something to build on big time.
Starting point is 00:16:01 If you get into the playoffs, then you have something maybe even a little bit bigger to build on because you've got that one year of playoff experience under the new regime. Yes. But yeah, both these teams, congratulations. I think both these teams should be congratulated
Starting point is 00:16:15 for their performance in the AFC South this year. Yes, I lean Texans just because it comes down to, who do I trust more, CJ Stroud or Gardner Mintintu and I'm no offense a Gardner Mintu But I'm gonna say my answer CJ Stroud But I mean, it's it's basically a pick him. Yeah, I don't like who knows I'm gonna take the over and hope for the best Yeah, the coach offense is actually pretty good this year. I think they're top 10 well and Shane Stuykin Part of like his thing is that he is not afraid to take shots.
Starting point is 00:16:46 And especially if they get down a little bit, he's going to push the ball. So yeah, the cult's overs have been, have been good this year. They've been really good this year. Yeah, I'm rooting for Shane's stiking. I would like to see him go farther than the Philadelphia Eagles. Oh, that would be fun. I'm also rooting for Will Anderson to get a couple of sacks and become the defensive rookie of the year.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Okay. Because he should be for any particular reason. No, I just think Willacks and become the defensive rookie of the year. Okay. Because he should be. For any particular reason? No, I just think Will Anderson's been the defensive rookie of the year. If I had a vote over Kalajakansi. Oh, fuck every Kalajakansi. Yeah, they're both pretty good. Who do you have? They split. They'll split.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Who do you have? Kalajakansi. Okay, I got a name. With the C. So, who do you have? I have Kalajakansi, as mine. All right, I have Will Anderson, Jake. Who do you have Will Anderson? Both Kalajakansi and... Kalaj will Anderson Jake who you have will Anderson or closet with a K can see with the seat
Starting point is 00:17:28 No, that's what I meant. Yeah can't see with you have will Anderson or collage can see will Anderson okay? Memes got to break the tie you got to break the tie memes I Go will Anderson okay, so will Anderson is one the part of my take defensive work of the year. We got everyone's vote damn it No, what? Jalen Carter. Oh, would you celebrate that, Max? I wouldn't say I would celebrate is not the right word. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:17:55 I don't, I don't celebrate anything less than Super Bowls. Oh, really? You wouldn't like drink champagne or anything before Superbowl. That's your definition of celebration. Not mine. That was just a beverage. So he was just thirsty. Okay, Jake, what is your nerd nugget for this game?
Starting point is 00:18:11 Last week, Texans wide receiver Robert Woods became the 12th active player in the NFL to reach 8,000 receiving yards. Okay, I can read the words. Or I'll be a good judge. I'll be a good judge, right? Yeah, but I feel like that's an underrated game. Wait, what was the 12th active receiver to reach, 8,000 receiving yards.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Okay, Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, active? Sorry, not Antonio Brown. OBJ, AJ Brown. Odell is not on there. AJ Brown. AJ Brown's not on there. Oh, Odell's not on there?
Starting point is 00:18:40 Cooper Cups. I said first. Cooper Cups not on there. Okay. This sucks. It's less sucks. Pukka Nakuwa. No.
Starting point is 00:18:52 He's probably going to get the rookie receiving yard. Let's see. Tyrick. Tyrick Kale is definitely on there. Oh, old guys. Deandre and Julio Jones. Both, yes. Devonte Adams. Yes. This is a sock. Zealand. No. Oh, good guess. Oh, Terry McClure.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Why receivers are tight ends as well. One more tight end. Travis Kelsey. Two more tight ends. Yes. One more tight end now. Mercedes Lewis. No, Eric Yerron. No, Moelle Cox. One more tight end now. Marseilles Lewis. No. Air Key Bron. No. Moa Ali Cox. One more tight end. Jiren Waller. No. George Kibber.
Starting point is 00:19:30 This tight end doesn't really play as much of the factor anymore, but he's still active. Oh, I'm drunk. Yeah. Okay. All right. Yeah, that list. Stefan Diggs, a Mario Cooper, Brandon Koch's Keenan Allen.
Starting point is 00:19:39 You remember Stefan Diggs? Yeah. He was good. Yeah, really good. He was really good. He's heyday. Earlier this year. Yeah, really good. He was really good. It's hey day earlier this year. Yeah, until like six weeks ago. Okay, we talked about Brown's Bengals.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Vikings Lions. This game doesn't really mean anything if the Cowboys and Eagles both win as heavy favorites. Lions feel like they're in the three seed. Also, the Cowboys and Eagles are playing later. So I guess the the Lions have to try to They don't really are they locked in? I think that they have to try They would want to try to win, but there are three and a half point underdogs at home. So that makes me think they're not gonna try to win Let me see if they're locked see what I'm saying. Lions play out. Well, I guess they wouldn't be if the Cowboys won
Starting point is 00:20:25 because it'd be head to head, right? Yeah, I think that the lions aren't dogs. I thought they were dogs. Oh, they're going back to Nick. Oh, they're favorites. All right, so yeah, all right. So that makes sense. So they were trying to win.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Yeah. So they also think Dan Campbell can't, he wouldn't know how to try to lose. I don't think he could tank, he's incapable of it. Yeah. So he's five and oh against the spread, against the Vikings, something to keep in the back of your head. And I don't think he's going to tank this one.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Nope. They do. They are playing for the opportunity to maybe jump the Cowboys, if the Cowboys lose the commanders, which is probably not going to have lines. I don't. You see it with a win, Dallas and Philly loss. Yeah, okay. So they need both of those. They need both those things to happen. So I don't think that they're gonna tank. I think I think Dan Campbell will give a speech to his guys and he'll say we have not earned the right to
Starting point is 00:21:16 take our foot off the gas. Yeah, I agree. And men, like also this is a bad taste game. Yeah, get the bad taste out of your mouth. Yep, last Saturday not go well. The ending sucked. I think the lines are gonna come out and be like, we gotta get ourselves ready for the playoffs. We gotta put some good tape out there. Maybe if they get like a big lead, they might pull some guys.
Starting point is 00:21:37 But yeah, I think they're gonna try to win this game and Kevin O'Connell deserves a lot of credit because he's a very good coach. I will never understand going with Jaren Hall in that game on Sunday night. No, he's trying to find the hot hand. Yeah, that's what he's been trying to do is like he's trying to time it out to go like Jiren Hall had a good week of practice. So I think he'll be better on Sunday. It's in this case, he's going back to Nick Mullins again.
Starting point is 00:21:58 I guess Nick Mullins had a good week of practice. Well, Nick Mullins is a competent quarterback. Yeah, ish. You have to see what Jaren Hall has, I guess at some point. I would have gone with Josh, I would have stuck with dobs. Yeah, let's be like, fuck it. Let's just keep going. Yeah. All right. Nerdnugget for this game. Lions, Titans, Sam, Laporta is just one of four rookies in NFL history to produce the season with at least 80 catches, 800 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns.
Starting point is 00:22:23 It is pretty crazy that the Lions traded TJ Hockinson last year and then they just got a really good tight end. They got a like a younger, better version of TJ Lies. Yeah, from the same school. Yes, exactly. Yeah, they just went back. Okay, Jaguar's a Titans. I think this is Titans, maybe outright.
Starting point is 00:22:41 So last week, Mike Vrable had a great quote, I fucking can't stand losing. No, so the reporter asked, how do you feel about losing? And he said, it fucking sucks. Yeah, losing fucking sucks. And then he gave a whole answer. And then he's like, you got anything else? Yeah, the reporter. It's a good answer. It's a good answer from Vrable. I think that this is the Titans 2. I don't believe in the Jaguars. It's just the Mike Frabel in a wiki team where nothing matters for his team against the Jacksonville Jaguars,
Starting point is 00:23:11 who are battered in beaten and have not looked good. And yeah, they beat the Panthers and their defense look good. But just, we've seen this. What was Carson Wentz and the Colts? Oh, no, that was a reverse. The Jaguars beat the Colts The Jaguars beat the Colts. Jaguars beat the Colts. But it's just something weird.
Starting point is 00:23:28 It always happens in the, in the AFC South. Yeah. It's late season game. And this is Vrable Super Bowl this year. Also revenge. Yep. Ember. Yep.
Starting point is 00:23:36 The Titans lost the Jaguars when we came to Team last year to get in the playoffs. Yep. So little revenge. That was Josh Topps. Yeah. I, I, I, I actually do think that variables gonna have the team ready to play. Do we know is it gonna be Will Levis
Starting point is 00:23:49 or is it gonna be Tanael? Hmm. I don't know. It doesn't really factor into my equation because my, my equation is just Mike Vrable. That's, it's a one item equation. So we get, uh, oh, Will Levis, I'm watching right now. He's dancing at practice. I think it's Will Levis. Nothing confirmed, but Levis, I'm watching right now. He's dancing in practice.
Starting point is 00:24:05 I think it's Will Levis. Nothing confirmed, but Levis' start is about this. He's got someone Nick Sus online, got Will Levis' feet picks. So it's just a zoomed in picture of his feet. He's got ankle wraps. I love that, Nick Sus. Nick Sus got those Will Levis' feet picks.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Great account. It moved, wait, here is will levis moved. Okay, not as well as last week work. Third, when all three were together and second, when they reduced to only two getting work. So that kind of means it might be 10 L. And it's Trevor Lawrence playing. He said that his shoulder feels better every day. So that's good trending in the right direction. That's officially trying to get the right direction. I don't again, it doesn't factor to my question, my equation is Mike variable plus zero equals Mike
Starting point is 00:24:49 variable. Right. And so that's telling me to bet the Titan. He's going to get the boys fired up. Yeah. One way or the other. Okay. Nerd nugget for this game. Jaguars running back Travis, UTN has 11 rushing touchdowns this season becoming the first Jaguars since 2009 to record at least 10 rushing touchdowns in a season. The last was MJD in 2009. Even had a good running back. Okay, yeah. In a while. They used to have good ones, so they had Fred Taylor, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:12 Yeah, yeah, MJD. He got fat. Yeah, he was always like a little squatty body. Good NFL network personality though. Yeah, but he got fat. Yeah, he got a little chunky. I remember when he knocked out Sean Miriamon. Yeah, that was great. Yeah, good block. He was awesome. Yeah, you got a little chunky. I remember we knocked out Sean Miriamon. Yeah, that was great
Starting point is 00:25:25 Yeah, good block. He was awesome So much fun to watch short king. Okay, Jets Patriots Henry Yes You want to lose this game we do I don't think bill well check will lose this game Need to do why but there are reports coming out that there's a lot of turmoil in the coaching staff Lock room now that it seems like things might be over there might be some, you know, airing of grievances throwing people under the bus. Oh, do tell.
Starting point is 00:25:52 I just read a report that it someone said the staff was super dysfunctional. Oh, yeah, anonymous source. Have we not read Hank this direct report for the last like 10 weeks? He's now believing it. And Hank's been saying it's fan fiction. Well, now I'm trying to convince myself that we can lose this game. Got it.
Starting point is 00:26:07 Yeah, that makes sense. I've been saying for the last three weeks, Bill Belichek will not lose the jets. I feel like Bill Belichek, if he does get fired, they need to make that its own day. He can't go out with like, he can't go out on black Monday. He can't go out on the black Monday.
Starting point is 00:26:22 Yeah, we can't scroll black Monday and be like Dennis Allen fired Nick Cereani fire Bill Bell check fire. We got a he needs his own day. He's well he he should be traded at the Super Bowl. That'd be funny if they fired Nick Nick Cereani before the playoff game. Yeah, that'd be good. Just realize that.
Starting point is 00:26:36 I wonder if that's possible. Yeah. Um, I have a guest picker here for Oh, okay. This game too. If that's okay. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:26:43 Let's see what what he has to say we don't win anymore in Washington and it's quite sad we are looking very strongly at bringing in bill bellichek a true patriot and great winner he is a friend of mine and the new york jets have been very nasty to him so i think i think he likes Bella's pick. He said that the New York Jets have been very nasty to him. What was the pick? You sound like a live-hack.
Starting point is 00:27:12 No, I'm just, you said you're a good picker and you didn't make a picker. You're nitpicking everything that President Trump says. He said he had a pick, he didn't have a pick. Okay. Well I think he likes the Patriots this weekend. He did not have a pick. He did not, but the New York Jets in fact,
Starting point is 00:27:25 have been very nasty to Bill Balecheck and he's been very nasty back. 15 in a row though, water always finds its level. Like the Jets, no, it's more due than the New York Jets versus the Patriots. That's true. You want to win this game? No.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Really? No, not at all. But even to get the 15 in a row done? Yes, so right now I'm saying no, but if they do win, I'll be like, yeah. And then Patriots will drive to quarterback that plays there for 50 more years and absolutely tortures the fan base.
Starting point is 00:27:55 This actually might be the easy game. What do you mean? Is he might get a full workload? Oh, he might, yeah, Calvin Cook's out. Yeah. Oh, is he touchdown? Is he out or did he, did Calvin out. Yeah. Oh, is he touchdown? Is he out or did he to Devon Cook get cut? Wait, is he out?
Starting point is 00:28:10 Like someone part. Is he in? Avenue. No, is he in? Is he is he in? Is he in? Is he in? Is he in? Wait, Daven Cook's playing or I don't I don't know. I mean, that's what I'm asking you. I'll cook out, but is he out? Is he is he in? Daven cook out? I don't know if he's in. That's what we're asking you. Daven. No, he's out. Is he out? Is he in?
Starting point is 00:28:32 I don't know if he's in. Daven out is he in. Okay, great fit. Okay, so is he in? Daven cook also playing. No. Oh, no. Daven cook out.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Is he in? Daven cook is being given the opportunity to sign with a contender. Wait seriously? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, that's why they let him go was to give him the opportunity to get on a playoff roster. Cool. He's cut. He's not out. He's cut. I believe he's cut. Is he officially? Is he released? Yeah, he's released. He's been released. Got it. Okay. So that's why that's why it's the Izzy game. Yeah got it got it Yeah, Dalvin contender. I don't think so. You don't think what what can tell him like the chargers are still in it You know what I would do if I'm the Ravens I would sign them just just in case
Starting point is 00:29:16 Yeah, that might not be terrible. Yeah, just in case just in case Okay, nerd nugget for this game reminder first for big cat to bet patriots and under for bid For for big cat. Yeah, what did you say? Reminder for big cat. Okay, maybe I misspoke but I thought it was for big Last time they played he told me to remind you under in the Patriots. Yeah. Yeah, I might not the unders Downers grow gross talking about the under but I will bet the Patriots Patriots running back Ezekiel Elliott enters the final week of the season. Second on the team in receptions, only one catch behind leader,
Starting point is 00:29:51 DiMario Douglas. Oh, that's confident off of it. Never in a sec. Can not if he out catches Douglas, it'll make the second straight season that are running back leads the Patriots in receptions and the 10 time and heat team history. Yeah, when you're running back leads the patriots in receptions and the 10 time and team history. Yeah, when you're running back leads the team in receptions,
Starting point is 00:30:07 that's like if your safety leads the team in tackles. Is there a team out there that has that occurring right now, Max? Yeah. Oh shit. It's not just not a good sign. No, it's not a great sign. Matt Fortay, I think, the Bears in receptions, a few years. But yeah, unless that person's Lashama Koi
Starting point is 00:30:27 Or Lodini and Thomas or yeah Brian Westbrook. Yeah, okay next game Down the list Falcons its Saints if the box lose this becomes the Battle for the NFC South Fun kind of fun. I Think the Saints I love the Saints this fun. Uh, I think the Saints? I love the Saints this weekend. Yeah, I mean, the Falcons can't play on the road.
Starting point is 00:30:48 Personally, that's why I was gonna say. The Falcons really can't play on the road at all. Are they're Smith, though? Saints are building on something. Great coach. You're really building. I think, what are they? Three and one in their last four right now?
Starting point is 00:30:57 Mm-hmm. So the Saints, in the last quarter of the season, the Saints have been trending towards being, not just a playoff team, but a good playoff. Probably the one seat. They would be, so I'm riding with car, man. Arthur Smith. Get the car.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Virgin rival wants to spoil the season for the Saints. Well, no, he's trying to get in the playoffs. He's trying to get in the playoffs himself. He tries to spoil the same. They're equal, right? And get into the playoffs. If they win this game and the box lose, they're in the, they win the NFC South.
Starting point is 00:31:18 They host a playoff game. That's huge. And spoil and simultaneously. I personally love the Saints this weekend. All the Falcons. Yeah. I kind of want the Saints to make the playoffs just because then maybe Jamis would get in. Yeah. Saints making the playoffs and and Derek Carr getting like a a high ankle spray. That'd be the ideal. Yeah. Yeah. And also just so Steven Chen was a was like I would love to laugh in his face. Yeah. The most of at his face. Yeah, it'd be nice
Starting point is 00:31:46 Yeah, all right nerd nugget for this game shadow to today's guest Saints defense event Cameron Jordans 116 and a half sacks since 2012 leads the NFL over that span Vaughn Miller and Chandler Jones right behind him with 112 feature Hall Famer there you go. We're gonna get to it So the the behind the scenes dialogue that Hank and I were doing right there is that this game means a lot for who gets the second overall pick Because of both the Patriots lose and the commanders lose This is the most important game. This is like worth two game if the Saints win It's good for you if the Saints win then the commanders would probably get the second overall pick got it If the Falcons win
Starting point is 00:32:21 Patrons yeah, so it's a see who has to give their entire future assets to me. Yes. For the right to get to the kitchen. I love it. I love it. But it's all for the audience. We'll have to just hand me all the pics.
Starting point is 00:32:35 Like Hank, I'll just say that a top three pic in this draft is pretty good. There's three, maybe even four. And you can get to one. It will cost you everything. but you can get to one I give me give me I have no idea who our new jam's gonna be so I don't this is actually tough for me because I got to figure out who's more likely to suck next year Yeah I don't know are you not worried about Caleb Williams?
Starting point is 00:33:01 You got no no you got to for the, I gotta see you in the suck more. Are you not worried about Caleb Williams like coming Patrick Mahomes 2.0? Listen, I know you're on your hate me. Little, you started 2024, just being like, I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna fucking propaganda, get big cats, just fucking stick it to him.
Starting point is 00:33:18 No, I'm not worried. I gotta figure out who's gonna suck more. We might be doing the process in DC. I think it might be Washington, but- Just look at the history. Yeah, but if Belicechx gone, your history's gone. Yeah, and then we might get your history. Right.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Oh, man. You ever think about that? Belicechx breaking the old time wins record on my sideline. It will be very dependent on you guys coach. Yeah, hang. You guys hire. We're gonna throw them a parade. We're gonna treat bill.
Starting point is 00:33:46 We would treat you so good in DC. You would be a king to us. You could go coach Navy football and LaCross during the week bill. Man, Bill, you would be my main bitch. Okay, so I think this is what I'm rooting for. I'm rooting for the Saints to win. Yeah, you get the second pick. Yeah, yeah, you're Hank.
Starting point is 00:34:02 It's the third pick. Hank then gives me all the future picks and then picks number one. Takes kill Williams. You take Drake, May, and you have Bill Bell check and Drake, May, turns out to be the better of the two. I like that. That'd be good. Oh, and then oh boy. And then big cat. They both become Hall of Famers. That's really hard to do. When's the last time the number one and number two pick became Hall of Famers a quarterback position. Never. And then Big Cat drops back. I'm sorry. I'll go through.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Even further in the draft. And then you get Jaden Daniels. And then they're both better. Yeah. Caleb Williams who spends all his time taking pictures of his outfits. He's still in Skyrise apartments. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:44 What do you think about that? And then the Jets get Michael Pentex said he sky-rise apartments. Yeah. What do you think about that? And then the Jets get Michael Penix and he's awesome too. Yeah. Yeah. I like this. This is fun. This is a great future. What are you looking for? Hank, he's looking for number one and number two.
Starting point is 00:34:56 They, I mean, the half the quarterbacks in every first round, sock, they stink. Yeah, zero. The answer's zero. Yeah, and zero. So there's always, there's a 50% chance that one of those guys is going to stink. There's always a winner and a stink. Yeah, zero. The answer's zero. Yeah, and zero. So there's always a 50% chance that one of those guys is going to stink. There's always a winner and a loser.
Starting point is 00:35:08 Yeah. And sometimes both losers and I'll be, I'll be told. They can easily be two losers. Given our team's history in terms of drafting, long-term solutions at the quarterback position, giving us a high pick does not necessarily mean we're going to take a better player. Correct. But if the choice is out of your hands, mm-hmm Then at least you can say well, we had no choice exactly which is actually a great choice It is to have the choice to be forced. Yeah, exactly
Starting point is 00:35:36 Okay Neuro no box panthers We got sidetracked there box panthers. I think the panthers are live in this game. I like all the shitty teams this week. I just wanna say it right now. I'm probably gonna be betting the worst teams possible. Is David Tepp are gonna be suspended from attending this game?
Starting point is 00:35:56 That's what I wanna know. $300,000 is a joke. He makes that in like an hour and interest. It's in his cat, like the cushions of his couch. Yeah, I have $300,000. No, he probably has a ticker in his office. That's like, you want to see how much I'm making just with my money sitting in, you know, all these stocks.
Starting point is 00:36:12 Look, yeah, $300,000 every second. The drinks that he threw probably was worth about $300K. Yeah. According to a foreign office sports today, it's the equivalent of finding the average American $1.75. Mm, okay. That's worth it for a drink throw. I think it'd be a cup of coffee.
Starting point is 00:36:27 Yeah, that's worth it for a drink. So, that could be a coffee. I've noticed people are gonna get mad at you. I'm so you're out of touch. I'm, it's a gallon of milk. What could it cost? $1. Listen up, what?
Starting point is 00:36:39 $1.75 is what? That's not fucking months rent. No, I drink, I drink Stella Blue coffee. That's true, that's a fact. And I get it in in the coffee grind. Yes. And so therefore you save money when you make it and we get it at the office and we get it at the office. Yeah. So it's a $1.75. You know, there's there are people who police us because we got a little change in our pocket. They're like, these guys are so out of touch. Yeah. Well whatever. I spent the Brock party. We're like, he's that's not a lot of money. Yes, it is a lot of money. 800,000. We're saying it's not a lot of money. Yeah. Well, whatever. I spent the Brock party and we're like, he's, that's not a lot of money.
Starting point is 00:37:05 Yes, it is a lot of money. 800,000. We're saying it's not a lot of money to be the leader of the MVP. And not in the San Francisco area. Right. Right. Like there are people that make $800,000 in San Francisco that drive ubers on the weekend.
Starting point is 00:37:18 That's stepping human shit every day. Yeah. We've seen the videos on Twitter. He and Michael Chong or whatever. I'm just upset. I'm just upset. I'm just upset that we got one guy. I just doesn't live in America who just bashes America. Yeah, the guy that people eat it up.
Starting point is 00:37:31 Yeah, that he lives in like the Philippines. He just is in my algorithm all the time. It's like, yeah, America's dying. It's like, wait, dude, you don't live here. America's still pretty good. We fucking rock. Yeah, we got the NFL, bitch. Yeah, every Sunday, motherfucker. Okay, well, what are we talking about? We're we got the NFL bitch. Yeah every Sunday motherfucker
Starting point is 00:37:52 Okay, um, what are we talking about the Panthers? Oh, David Tepper coffee is David Tepper suspended for a game I just I like the idea of suspending an owner from attending a game. That sounds fun to me But that would actually no he should have to he should have to attend this game watching the Panthers as a punishment in and of itself Yeah, his actual punishment should be he has to sit down and watch the entire season back. Yeah, that would be... Watch more Panthers. Yeah, and watch more Panthers. So I actually like the bucks this weekend.
Starting point is 00:38:15 I like them a lot. I don't think that the Panthers don't have anything to play for. That's why they're dangerous. At all. That's, I just love the idea of, because it doesn't feel like every week 18, we have like one or two of these games that are just like where the fuck this come from
Starting point is 00:38:27 It's a team that needs to win and a team that doesn't give a fuck What did Tommy give his set of standard advisors? It's like a team that needs to win first a team that doesn't have anything to play for the team that needs to win is like 38% against the spread hmm so It just It happens might not be this game, but I'm going to say right now, I'm going to load up on the worst teams this week. I think there's going to be a collage of
Starting point is 00:38:51 Kansas coming out party. Okay. Maybe get that extra vote. That swing vote. Yeah. Teams open your eyes. Yep. Okay. Nerd nugget. Buckeniers quarterback Baker may feel needs two passing touchdowns to join Tom Brady as the only players with 30 plus passing touchdowns in their first season with Tampa Bay and just the third player to do it overall for the team. Sneaky good season Tom Brady and Baker Mayfield have very similar numbers to the last two years. Interesting. Yeah, well like last year's Tom Brady versus this year's Baker Mayfield. Okay, so not like Tom Brady this year. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Last year's Tom Brady and this year's Baker Mayfield is very similar because I have very similar numbers to this year's Tom Brady and they're also Very similar teams. Yeah, like scratching and clawing not good. Oh, maybe they're good
Starting point is 00:39:33 Gonna get maybe get a home playoff game and we're all gonna buy into it and then Well, who'd they play? They probably play a really good team that just they would best wild cards They would and if you look at the NFC, the good wild card teams have way better records than the box would have. Yeah. So they would be going up against pretty good defense. Yep.
Starting point is 00:39:53 You think so. Mm hmm. Who would they play? Does they want to have the playoff picture of every favorite one? Who would the box play in the first round? They would play against the Eagles. Oh. At home. And we say they were really good. That would be it would be heartbreaking for the Eagles to get bounced in the first round. They would play against the Eagles. Oh At home and we say they were really good. That would be it would be heartbreaking for the Eagles to get bounced in the first round of the playoffs
Starting point is 00:40:09 Yeah, I really need them to win that game Sin we need max to get his he needs to get back up. I know it's on his feet I don't know. Okay. We'll get to it. Okay, next game my Super Bowl I might actually get a banner made just in case. Bears Packers. I would like to address one thing, Henry Lockwood's propaganda machine. The clip came out, it was a good clip made by Hank's team.
Starting point is 00:40:40 There's one part of the clip though that I have a very big problem with. I described the clip for the Roller coaster the pair season they started and they sucked and then they got better and I was like they're better And then someone threw in the week 15 where I was like it's over the context on that clip is no one in this room Realized they needed to beat the Browns to stay alive in the playoffs So you guys were all goading me being like no they could still make it and I was like no it's over They needed to beat the Browns, which I was correct about.
Starting point is 00:41:07 So I wasn't saying the bears sucked. I was saying it's over. They're not going to make the playoffs. You also were battling a lost voice. So it sounded like you were on the verge of yes. So that was a fucked up clip. It was your guys fall for not realizing the playoff picture. I was just speaking fast. I was trying to believe. But that clip actually confirmed what I said. They started, they sucked, they got better. I said they got better. And the people who are like, if you're flip-flopping, that's what fandom is, baby.
Starting point is 00:41:34 I'm calling it like I see it. I wasn't saying that you guys are totally toad. I'm saying that looking forward to week 18, you have the opportunity to knock the packers out of the playoffs. No, no, no in that clip You were saying you you were saying they're still alive They could play for a playoff spot in week 18 and I was saying no They had to beat the Browns to have that possible
Starting point is 00:41:55 I also think there were some other things that could have happened along the way to make the bears still mathematically alive because it would have been Yeah, the miracle because the bears weren't eliminated until I understand, but they needed to beat the Browns. Yeah, they needed to beat the Browns to be alive. And everything that I said turned out to be exactly true. But this is the, the Rams Giants game, they were like a feel-go-away from that being the case. They needed a tie, then they would have needed like a tie and all this shit, no, they needed a tie and suddenly
Starting point is 00:42:22 they would fall because when they lost to the Browns their playoff chances took a huge huge dive. Yes. And no one was with everyone was like, oh no, they could still do it. I saw the future And I was like they have to beat the Browns. I said it all that week. Remember I called the Gateway game I said they beat the Browns then I think they could beat the Falcons of Cardinals Then we're playing for playoffs one week 18 so when we lost the Browns, then I think they could beat the Falcons of Cardinals, then we're playing for playoffs for our week 18. So when we lost to the Browns, and you guys were like, oh, no, no, no. But you still kind of went through the gateway. You, you guys know what?
Starting point is 00:42:50 Because I knew that you still believe in the team. I believe in the team for next year. I hate you so much. I think that this weekend, if you beat the Packers, you're gonna be so excited about this. You're gonna bounce them out. You're gonna, this is something that you can build on next. Also, everyone pointed out that a lot of Lions fans
Starting point is 00:43:07 Wanted Dan Campbell fired when they were one in six last year and you're like no, they all galvanized around them the whole season at the end of the season At the end of the season we're at the end of the season. I'm galvanizing around the bears and you're a fluke He's our coach I don't think it was the majority of lines fans that wanted. There were some. It wasn't a six. Remember they lost by like 34 nothing without each that one of them to be fired, but I think overall the overall sentiment was like this sucks.
Starting point is 00:43:34 He needs to figure out a way to turn it around. It was bad when they were one and six, but I don't think they were all saying fire this. It was bad when they were one and six. They lost. What was the score that Patriots gave that was the, I think they got shut out. Right, but at the end of the season, everyone was, and where are we right now? What am I saying?
Starting point is 00:43:50 What is, yeah. You're like, he's our coach. I have nothing else to say. He's our coach. What do you have a choice? What more could you say about your coach and saying he's our coach? I would die for him.
Starting point is 00:43:58 He's a fact. He's our coach. I would die if I have your vote of confidence. Yeah. Full vote of confidence. He's our coach. Important note for this weekend, if you're listening to this LaFlore,
Starting point is 00:44:09 Jaden Reed is from Chicago, so he needs to be a fucking captain. Yeah, all right, get your shoes. Otherwise, you have no excuse. Might lose a coin flip or not deferred. Not you should defer. Incorrectly defer a cost you a possession. I'm very nervous to this game.
Starting point is 00:44:22 I'm very excited for this game. Jordan Love has been playing great. There's nothing I can say about that. Um, but playing spoiler would be incredible and incredible. It would just be so, so good. You would be bookends too. Cause we lost week one. I was a big, big game that crushed me getting to week 18.
Starting point is 00:44:39 All the momentum going in the next year. The fucking losers and slow brains like Hank would finally maybe wake up and be like, oh, maybe the bears are building something, but he won't, he won't, the bears will have to get to the playoffs next year, which they will for Hank to fucking realize it. You call me a low brain. The low brain. You mean to say slow?
Starting point is 00:44:57 No, low and slow. You got low and slow. You're low brain and you're slow brain. What you have is, you have a low amount of brain and what you do have is slow. Got it. Yeah. Because I haven't been anti-high since January,
Starting point is 00:45:13 so I thought that's what you were trying to say. Oh no. Also doing dry January. I was just saying you have low brain cells. Got it. A low amount of brain cells in those that you have, slow. Are you one for four in dry January? Two. Two for four. What's it? It's the fourth. I'm so far up two for four. Just one and a half. That would put you in the baseball hall of fame. Just to update my
Starting point is 00:45:32 news resolution, I'm three for four on days having a blizzard. Nice. And I'm also three for four on days having diarrhea. What studies are out? We'll see if those are correlated. We don't know yet. Yeah, I'm excited for this game. I'm gonna get up for this game. We'll be streaming this game I really really really really really want the Bears to win this game and I'll be I'll be upset because I will I understand What's at stake? There's a lot of Packers fans that are gonna just have a lot of fun at my expensive Was it Justin Fields that kind of poked a bear a little bit? They've said in Green Bay They don't really have a lot to do except go to football games.
Starting point is 00:46:08 So I expect the crowd to be loud. Yeah, no, it's a fact. That's not even poking the bear. That's actually respect. They're going to prove them right. No, that's respect. Yeah. Yeah. They don't. And they go to football games and they're passionate fan base. And they've I've been on the brunt end of that passionate fan base many times. Uh, nerd nugget Packers, Titans Tucker craft and loose Luke Musgrave are the second rookie tight end combo since the 1970 merger to both have at least 25 catches 300 receiving yards and at least one receiving touchdown the other Rob Grant Kowski and Aaron Hernandez. Wow great great players even better off the field. Yeah Okay, so which one of the two do you think is the murderer?
Starting point is 00:46:49 I think they're both good guys. Muscreate. Muscreate sounds like a murderer. Yeah. All right. We talked Broncos Raiders. Eagles Giants. Max, come forward.
Starting point is 00:47:04 This is like a new thing that you guys do where you like say the Eagles game and then you just go silent Yeah, I mean be nice. Just let the room breathe choose your own adventure Do you want us to go do you into getting really mad or do you just want to get mad on your own? It's actually I'm not gonna get mad if we're being honest the reason why we're doing this is because it's every single episode is like a new Way that you're gonna step in it And so we kind of want to like be like go ahead Max. How will we start this dance? I'm not gonna step in it today. Okay, so you have just 30 seconds to talk about your feelings in this game I have thoughts okay
Starting point is 00:47:39 I'm not I'm already opening up the door for me for me to change my mind on this team. I'm not saying I'm, I'm already opening up the door for me, for me to change my mind on this team. I'm not saying I'm there yet, but the AJ Brown talked with the media the other day has opened up my brain to be like, maybe we, maybe we can come back. What did he say? And it may have also opened up my mind towards Nick Sireani as well. Oh, what did he say? Oh, he just like talked with the media, went after them for like starting a bad narrative about the team, talked about how the guy, I mean, it was all normal things, but it was
Starting point is 00:48:17 the way he said it. He wasn't doing coach talk. He was kind of going after the media and like talking like a normal person like we in here know that we're right there and that like we're good enough like we're not showing up on the field Some of our coaches are taking a lot of the brunt, but like it's really our fault on the field He took responsibility in a way that wasn't like Like he was trained to say that it was like an normal conversation that has a lot of Philadelphia convinced that the
Starting point is 00:48:46 team might be back. Okay. But I'm not saying that to me, but I'm saying that it's a lot of Philadelphia. Correct. I'm not saying that I think that the team is back, but I'm opening up that maybe I could. That's just how I how I would describe your brain would be just a lot of Philadelphia floating around. Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:03 So you got all this filling floating around. And there's a good part of it. It's like, it's like a soup that has yet to really come together. You got all the ingredients for believing in this team. And then with a big weekend, if you come out and you destroy the giants, then it blends together into like a perfect dish and you're ready to go for the playoffs. I still don't think anything this weekend will change my opinion, but I like this weekend, I'm still pessimistic, but going into next week, you're going to get optimistic again.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Not optimistic, but like not pessimistic. Let me ask you a question, Max, and you have to be honest. So the AJ Brown, what you kind of mumbled, whatever, I still don't know what AJ Brown really said. Do you? Well, what he said was something to the media didn't sound like he had been trained to say. He didn't do coach speak, but he then went attack the media, but it wasn't coach speak. It was good. It was good.
Starting point is 00:49:57 And it sounds like they believe in seriani. Okay. Yeah. Sure. Which sounds like coach speak. It's a lot of feeling. It's to be like, we believe in our coach. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:06 We trust in our guys. We was literally speaking out his coach. It's cliche. No, but you have to watch it. You have to watch it and you have to listen and you would understand. Okay, so understand. That's not my question though.
Starting point is 00:50:15 My question is, is part of your belief in the Eagles making a run based on a meme stat thing that's been going around the internet. I would say more so. AJ, I would say more so the AJ Brown clip. Be honest, but that meme didn't hurt. So there's a meme going around that has the 2012 Baltimore Ravens and how they finished the season, which was very similar to how the Eagles have finished the season. The 2012 Baltimore Ravens won the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:50:51 The interesting thing about that meme is who is pictured in that meme? Ray Lewis. That's the interesting part because Ray Lewis did not play for basically the last 10 weeks I believe of the season. Darius Slay. And then God is dear antler spray and played in all four playoff games and they won the Super Bowl. That part feels important. Darius Slay. Darius Slay, Ray Lewis. Darius Slay, Ray Lewis.
Starting point is 00:51:17 Darius Slay, Ray Lewis. He's the captain of the same craft. He's the captain of the same craft. He's the captain of the same craft. He's the captain of the same craft. Basically mayor of Baltimore, the vibes guy, guy who comes out the tunnel last. Darius Slay. Darius Slay. On the other end, Darius tunnel last. Darius Lane. Darius Lane on the other end.
Starting point is 00:51:27 Darius Lane. Darius Lane still in Patricia's doghouse. I don't think so. It just it just made me day. They definitely don't like each other. It just made me chuckle because I saw that and I was like, oh, that's interesting. And then I my memory kicked in. I was like, wait, yeah, the Ravens got Ray Lewis back.
Starting point is 00:51:44 You know what though? If we're if we're wrong about the Eagles, if the Eagles catch a little fire, this shows over. Max is going to do the show's over insufferable. If the Eagles win the Super Bowl this year, the show's over. We're not doing this. No, but I've already opened myself up for, I'm not going to give you, like, I vote myself up for you guys
Starting point is 00:52:01 to be like, you can't celebrate this, because I've already written the team off. Oh, I didn't even think of that, but thank you. I'll put that in my back pocket. I have already thought about that. That's kind of why I was like. Obviously you're saying that you kind of believe
Starting point is 00:52:12 in this team gives us a spark, and we're like, yeah, he does. Yeah, this is what I wanted. I wanted this spark out of you. But the spark isn't there yet, the spark. I'm just saying that there's a possibility of a spark. You need some more memes, get them some more memes. No, it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:52:24 Is the Baltimore Ravens did this exact same thing and then they won the Super Bowl that yeah That's true in 2012. There's probably a lot in their bird team also. Mm-hmm a lot of hope similar areas on tree 95. Yeah This could happen big. Yeah. Are you getting Ray Lewis back? Terry Slay Maybe if Darius Slay does dear antler spray you can get you can get back. I'm reading I'm reading the quote here from AJ Brown. He started off by saying, golly. Okay, let me get comfortable. That doesn't sound like coach speaking. Yeah. That sounds like you're really saying. That's certified non-coach speaking from the heart.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Yup. And then he said he apologized to his teammates because they shouldn't have to answer questions on my behalf. I'm a man I can speak for myself. He hasn't talked to the media since. No, but it's the way he said it. It's the way he said it. It's the way he said it. It's the way he said it. It's the way he said he apologized to his teammates because they shouldn't have to answer questions on my behalf. I'm a man I can speak for myself. He hasn't talked to the media since.
Starting point is 00:53:08 No, but it's a way he said it. It's the way he said it. It's different. Okay. All right, get the clip for us. We're going to listen to it. We can keep going. Find the full clip.
Starting point is 00:53:17 I would like to judge this clip. Let's go nerd nugget for this. By the way, I like the giants in this game. I don't really have a feeling one way or another. I'm just going again with my theme of just liking the bad team versus the good team. Well, the bad team versus the less bad team. I have the quote. Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:32 Pull it up for us. We went on our own. Like, when you see our again, that was fun. We messed up. We, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we, we went on our own. They came out and said, oh, I, I, I wanted to try to get a flag or something. Something crazy like that. Like, you really made themself look like food for us.
Starting point is 00:53:52 I have nothing but respect for you. You know what I'm saying? Because not all coaches do that. You know what I'm saying? So, like, we were all in it. We were all brining. We just got to come out. We just got to play ball.
Starting point is 00:54:02 It's all they do. It's easy. The one person messing up or something like that. And not saying it. It's right. It's just trying to mess up. But it happened. We don't, you know what I'm saying? So like, but like I said, it's highs and lows and you see the glimpses. So that's why I'm like, we right there. Right there. We're right there. Despite everything, despite everybody saying this, saying that, like we right there. And we know we are. And that's the only thing that matters. We know, you know know you can say whatever you want to say
Starting point is 00:54:27 Have anything. Oh, what is going on? Oh, oh, what if it don't happen? Did you get played by the media then max? Oh, yeah, I'm I Dump dumb guy fell for the fake news. I don't hate that if if you don't That that quote I thought okay, let's go. I know I kind of agree with you That was a good quote if seriani actually said that to the media about the end of the Seattle game Just to get heat on himself and to track from his players are deflect the heat from his players That's a mark of a great coach right there. Yeah, and I think that you guys, yeah, it sounds like they're buying in. Max, you should have a spark. This feels good. Oh, this is my.
Starting point is 00:55:09 Oh, yeah. Yeah. It's a good second. It's a good second. He's not. That's a great quote. That's a great, awesome. One of the greatest leadership quotes of it. It's like that in JFK, like, not what your country could do for you. I was going to say that reminds me a lot of the Tim T-Bo speech That he gave yeah, you will not see it there the start of the championship DVD the cat the cat Yeah, Max of that the video to that tweet is from Philly, Lazz and says AJ Brown single handedly saving the Eagle season
Starting point is 00:55:38 Yeah, I agree with that your job. I said I want retweet it. Golly. Yeah, that's fucking huge. Huge. I also like that he calls his coach Nick. Yeah. That shows that they're boys. Yeah. There's not a lot of respect. No, I was going to say like they're friends.
Starting point is 00:55:54 Yeah. You always want your coach to be your friend. Yeah, your best friend. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, nerd nugget for this game. Dun dun dun. Oh, that's a sad nerd nugget of the week. That's one. Oh, why was that so sad, Jake? I'll read it. Oh,
Starting point is 00:56:10 no, someone died. Yeah, it should have been the air in her head. Literally, yes. Yeah, wait, literally someone died. Yeah, okay. This is from Ruben Frank and a now deleted tweet shout out to Boston with the boys for getting my attention. Jason Kelsey is the 23rd offensive lineman in NFL history to make first team all pro at least five times and the pro bowl at least seven times. Of the 21 who are eligible for the Hall of Fame, only one has not gotten in. That's Jim Tyrer who murdered his wife in 1980.
Starting point is 00:56:38 And never will. He said, that was a good nerd nugget of the week. Murd nugget. Murd nugget. Oh, it's a Murd nugget. Murd nugget. I think good nerd nugget of the word murd murd murd murd murd murd I think murk nugget would be good so the sad nerd nugget so wait but hang on Jake because I I've listened to Peter King a respected voice in the NFL community discuss how he only votes based on your credentials on the field. Not off shop. So wait, so what's his guy's name? Ruben, wait, the journalist or the guy who,
Starting point is 00:57:07 the guy that did the, the, Jim Tyra. Murder. Jim Tyra. What murder? Jim Tyra. Jim Tyra, Peter King, you need to get Jim Tyra in the whole fame.
Starting point is 00:57:18 Or else you're just full of shit. So we murdered one wife. And he's the only offensive lineman. So Jim Tyra. If've all pros and seven pro me and I'll be in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, my wife. That is your first ever. Murdner, not get of the week. Murdner, not get of the week. That was good, Jake. I like that. Okay, Seahawks Cardinals. Game doesn't mean a lot because the Seahawks need help. I think they need a decent amount of help, Correct. I'm going to look it up right now. The Cardinals are frisky though. Cardinals are
Starting point is 00:57:49 beyond frisky. They're they're maybe good. They could be good. They could be good. They could be good. When would agree? Oh, so they don't need any help. So you could get that's going to happen. You could get the C-Hawks into the play. Yeah, this is exact same situation as last year. C-Hawks weren't. No, C-Hawks got No, Seahawks got in the playoffs. Because the lines didn't. Yes, okay. Perfect. That's such a hilarious position. If you're a Seahawks fan, week 18 of the past two years has been just like death for
Starting point is 00:58:14 you. You need so much stuff to happen, or really two things to happen, but you need to root as hard in one exact other game as you do in your game. Yes. If you're a Seahawks fan and you win this game and then the Bears win this game, I want to see at least one Seahawks fan get a split Bears Lions jersey.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Yeah, please. Yeah. You just have to be number 18, week, 18, Bears Lions jersey. Show some respect. And I've seen North comes to save the day again. Standing on shoulders of giants. Yeah. I think the Cardinals are alive. They're frisky, they're playing hard.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Jonathan Ganon, not as dumb as we thought with the Pew, Pew, Pew. It really does become like, as Nick Sirionny becomes dumber, Shane's like it and Jonathan Ganon become smarter. It's very true. Yeah. Because you have to explain why the Eagles were so good last year. And if you think that they're bad because Nick Suryani this year, Ipsom Factor, the coordinator merchant.
Starting point is 00:59:09 The pew, pew, pew. Explosives guy is legit. I think I told you that after week two this year, big cat, right? Remember that? Yeah. Or is it week one, week one maybe? The defense plays hard. The offense.
Starting point is 00:59:20 Kyler Murray, I'll say this. I've talked a lot of shit about Kyour Murray over the course of the show. He actually doesn't look bad. He looks like a guy that I would try to build around if I was in Arizona. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. He looks like a franchise quarterback. Yep.
Starting point is 00:59:36 Okay, nerd nugget. With 1,000 and 1 Scrimmage yards, the season running back James Conner has joined Otis Anderson as the only players in Cardinals history to have 1,000 plus scrimmage yards in each of their first three seasons with the team. Oh okay. Did Otis Anderson commit any murders? Not that I'm aware of. Okay. Alright, we did chiefs chargers.
Starting point is 00:59:55 Rams 49ers, 49ers have the one seed all locked up. Probably gonna sit some guys. They should sit everyone. I think the Rams might too. Yeah, the Rams might too. the Rams could go to the seventh seed Because the Packers beat them so if the Packers win in the Rams lose I believe they become the seventh seed and then we'd have to go to Dallas who also beat them soundly
Starting point is 01:00:17 But yeah, the 49ers should sit everyone the only thing they can stop the 49ers are Indries in the Baltimore Ravens. I think it's a vanilla off this weekend because I don't, there's a good chance. No, show anything. Yeah, both teams. I think it's going to be the most boring game possible. Yeah. Because Kyle Shanahan said there's a good chance that we will play
Starting point is 01:00:34 this team again in two weeks, meaning, you know, he's looking at the Rams, maybe beating the Lions or something along those lines. So yeah, it's going to be a vanilla off. And Shanahan does have that great record against the Rams, was he nine and one? Yeah. The one lost being in the NFC championship game.
Starting point is 01:00:50 Yeah, was he covered? Yeah, was he covered that one? But yeah, this is gonna be a boring game. Maybe we get Carson wins this weekend. Ooh. How about that? It's not a true season until we get Carson wins depressing another fan base.
Starting point is 01:01:01 That would be fun. Yeah, 49ers sit everyone. Just do it. Restress Rust. Yeah. Well, the Rams I predict, they have a buy. They'll sit a lot of people. So that's extra rust. But they're not going to sit Pukin' Nakuwa. Yeah. I think he's got what 29 yards to go until he breaks the rookie reception record. He's got to do it. And as a 55, he's probably got it in the incentive. He's probably got an incentive. And as a fifth round pick, he's probably got it in the sense of 25.
Starting point is 01:01:25 He's probably got an incentive in his contract for $0. Yeah, exactly. But I feel like Sean McFaith's gonna do that. Yeah. Yeah, two weeks, you'd have two weeks off. This is one of those games where you look at the schedule and you see Rams 49ers and you think,
Starting point is 01:01:41 oh, this would be a great game if it was played five weeks ago. Yep. I'd love to see this game in like early December. Also we had remember earlier this year, the Rams feel gold to cover the spread. Yes. They might try to cover the spread. Yeah. Some one way or the other. Uh, okay, nerd nugget.
Starting point is 01:01:57 Dude, dude, dude. Nerd nugget of the week. What does this say about me that I love, like the MIRD nugget so much better than the NIRD nugget? Yeah, you like sadness. I like yeah the sound that you made was better. This one might even be NIRD nugget of the season. Oh, okay. VIA Brian Knowles. With Christian McCaffrey resting in week 18, he will finish the year with two thousand and twenty three yards from Scrimmage. He is the first player in NFL history to have as many yards as the season. Or as the gear?
Starting point is 01:02:28 Yep. I hate how much you like that. That sucks. I hate how much you like that. Cool, come on. That's not cool. Next closest. Gerald Riggs, 1986 yards and 1985,
Starting point is 01:02:39 Earl Campbell had 1981 yards and 1980. I had zero yards in the year zero. Just the fastest that washes out this entire. Like that's so many you actually are excited about. I think it's cool. Yeah. Yeah. It is.
Starting point is 01:02:58 What are the odds? Well pretty high because like no one was close. You had to get 19,000, 19,000 yards. The exact number of yards. And that didn't happen. And they had to have clenched because you can't play this week. Oh, wait. So the stat is he's the first player to ever sit out the last game of the season. No.
Starting point is 01:03:16 OK. So no team has ever, no player has ever gotten the exact number of all-purpose yards as the year. Correct. Got it. Maybe it was just rushing yards. I know. You're asking for the script. No, it of all purpose yards as the year. Correct. Got it. Maybe it was just rushing yards. I know, yards from scratch. No, it's gotta be all the yard. Okay, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:29 All right. I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm happy for you. I'm gonna email the NFL and go through his film tape and be like, you actually gave him an actual yard, take it away. Yeah, I'm gonna try, I'm gonna, I'm gonna figure out who I can hit up.
Starting point is 01:03:43 We gotta get. That one's cool, I'm sorry. I'm actually, you know what, I like Christian McCaffrey,. We got to get that one's cool. I'm sorry. I'm actually you know What I like Christian McCaffrey. I'll try to get him an extra yard twenty twenty four. Yeah, but then if he wins a Super Bowl, you're gonna do that. Yeah. Oh, man. Is there a different like other different sites that have different Yarders so we can just contest this right now. If you want it'd be nice if we can contest it what Okay, well, I'm gonna work on this maybe he had maybe he had like a Fumble that was actually an incomplete pass. Yeah. Yeah
Starting point is 01:04:12 Fuck. Oh, does he have any fucking? Does he have any passing yards? Does he have any passing yards Christian McCaffrey? Throws pass Throws pass does he have any passing yards? 14 59 rushing five sixty four receiving McCaffrey throws pass. Throwes pass. Does he need passing your first? 14, 59 rushing, 564 receiving. Pukas is 29 yards.
Starting point is 01:04:32 Okay, thank you for the correction. Yeah, FT, your team played him last week. You could have held them to one last yard. Yeah, so kind of your fault. Yeah, it is. Ron Rivera. Yeah. He's the blame for everything.
Starting point is 01:04:43 Maybe he goes play it on. Memes, would you like to apologize to me for that fake stack correction you gave me? I apologize. Thank you memes What was the stack I was right about Pukin to cool it needing 20 29 yards not 25 Fuck he doesn't have any passing yards this year god damn it Fuck he doesn't have any passing yards this year god damn it Okay, I'm sure Brian Knowles who's the chief writer for play sheet contributor looked into this before tweeting it I fuck Brian. Oh, so it's not like an official official recognized status Brian Knowles a stat Yeah, but how does he know I mean pass yards this year god damn it
Starting point is 01:05:22 Negative pass yards I'd even. Okay, let's keep moving. You guys are sad when I'm happy. But wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait Hey Jake does he have 2023 dash 24 yards? Oh, we do this It's never happened. It'll never happen. Okay. It will never ever happen. Do the nerd nugget sound NFL does not Classified as a two-year season Also how many how many how many yards do Christopher Kavry get in the playoffs last year in 2023? Oh good question Yes, good question. Then got on first player had Many yards as the year the year 2023 he got way more yards in 2023 I just I find it interesting that's 2024 and you're claiming that's 2023 gaslighting all of them
Starting point is 01:06:22 Okay, he's trying to make us think news never happened. Mm-hmm. Good job. Okay, Cowboys and Commanders. Yeah. That's my summary. I'm pretty sure that we're gonna get our ass kicked this weekend. It's gonna be nice, you know, I would have been on the Commanders.
Starting point is 01:06:35 Yeah, we'll probably do something stupid. Yeah. We did beat them in the last game of the season last year. That was Sam House first start and crushed the Cowboys. They also sat a couple players, not all of them, but a couple players. I'm looking forward to seeing my team on a football field on a Sunday afternoon. And that's about as far as I'll go for it. That's nice. I get 17 of these a year. Yep. I want to enjoy it. I want to be like, oh, there's my coach. Oh, there's my quarterback. Oh, there's my punner. Oh, there's my stadium that's falling apart. I want to recognize that. I want to enjoy it. I want to soak it in and hopefully we'll lose the game and hopefully the Saints will win and then we'll get the second overall pick.
Starting point is 01:07:14 Nice. So that's that's basically what I'm rooting for this week. I'm going to bet the commanders hoping that the Cowboys go up and they say, Hey, let's not get anyone hurt. and they say, hey, let's not get anyone hurt. They're offensive lines being dubbed. Did you see who got hurt? Tyler... Was it Tyler's... It's Smith. Tyrant Smith. No, Tyler, there are other cowboys.
Starting point is 01:07:33 Fuck. He hurt his foot. He tore his planter. Oh, fascist. But that's good. Tyler Smith. Tyler Smith. Tyler Smith.
Starting point is 01:07:42 He tore it, though. Yeah, he tore. Oh, the thing. Which is good. So all the reports that came out about this were like great news He yeah, let me tour his plan or faster. He's gonna play on it in the playoffs and that's that makes me want to cry Thinking about it because apparently it's way better to tear it than it is to partially tear I don't know how that's possible. I don't know either but that's what everybody was saying I think if it's torn you can play in a torn one. I did this in high school. If it's all right, go ahead. Partially torn.
Starting point is 01:08:06 Tell us how high school max would play in the NFL playoffs. I was in a boot for like six weeks. Was yours partially torn? Partially torn. Exactly. Were you told that you should have torn it the whole way? I don't remember that. Even your injuries are sad.
Starting point is 01:08:22 Yeah. They're like, man, you should have, you're such a loser, you should have torn the whole thing. You had the second best way to injure your plate of fascia. Ever. And like felt it, it felt like every time you touched your heel on something, you were like stepping on glass. Ooh, that's not fun.
Starting point is 01:08:39 Should have torn the whole thing, yeah. I would have torn it. Yep. If I were you, I would have just gone down there with some free bags. I'd never partially tear my plate of my plan. Like that. I'd always go full tear. I would keep running on until that thing snapped. Yeah. All right. Do you have like disgusting feet now? Oh, puke. Yeah. I mean, big cat tweeted the picture. So yeah. Yeah, I mean big head tweeted the picture. So yeah, Jake Cowboys while I received a CD lamp I scored a touchdown and eight straight games the longest active
Starting point is 01:09:10 streak in the NFL. Lamb is also the first Cowboys receiver to score an eight consecutive games. Every time I hear a stat like that about Cowboys receivers it blows my mind. Yeah, that's a good, good. So you could I can come I love the murder nugget. That one rule. Yeah, I can. Well, it also wasget. So you could, I can come, I love the MIRD Nugget. That one rule. Yeah, I can, but also with SAT. No, no, I rule. Can you, can you try to find more of those?
Starting point is 01:09:29 Oh, breaking mousse, breaking mousse. Duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, and is now free to sign with whichever playoff contender he wants per source. Why are we trying so hard to get Dalvin cook on a playoff team? I don't know. Can somebody explain that to me? What's going on here? It makes no sense. I hope he wins the Super Bowl now. Yeah, I just don't play off Dalvin.
Starting point is 01:09:59 I, we watch them, I mean, you watch some memes closely. He doesn't seem to have any burst. It'd be cool if he was on the bills oh yeah they play off Lenny too oh that would be very cool and the brother that's the brothers were what we're talking about yeah we're talking about the brothers yeah but that would be a sick yeah but the brother was the part that would be too many cooks yeah literally yeah Yeah, there was a part like that would be too many cooks. Yeah, literally. Yeah. Jake playoff, Dalvin. I don't know what's going on with how these reports are being framed around Dalvin Cook.
Starting point is 01:10:32 I just hope one day I have as good a PR team as yes, yes, signed Dalvin Cook. They just think that they did it in the summer. They can just run the play again. Yeah, exactly. It's all it is. He's going to take a tour. Yeah. He should just show up to different teams and be like, Hey, it's me, Dalvin Cook.
Starting point is 01:10:47 I'm here. I'm here. I'm here. And then Dine, me. Yeah. Playoff run starts now. Uh, okay, bills at Dolphins to finish it off. I'm so excited for this game. It's going to be a great game. I'm nervous. I'm not going to bet this game because we put a future on the bills. They need to win this. They can back in. So we'll know on Sunday night. Yeah, because we'll know, um, which the game that they need to focus on is that the Steelers game. Steelers and the Jacks, either or, yeah, or, so either of those
Starting point is 01:11:13 two teams lose, the bills will not be playing for their playoff lives. They'll just be playing for the two seat. They're going to be motivated no matter what, because it would obviously be potentially two home playoff games versus being on the road in the wildcard weekend. But there would be a little pressure off knowing they could be in the playoffs, even with a loss. But yeah, this will be the dolphins have to have a get right.
Starting point is 01:11:36 And they, like for the dolphins to fall all the way to the six seed would be catastrophic considering the fact that they were, the bills were six six and six and I think what were the dolphins were they Were they ten and no there were nine and three just a month ago So where would the dolphins have to go on the road? They would have to most likely go. She's are locked into the trees So they go to they go to Kansas City. Yeah, hopefully get like a nice little snow game or like some cold weather To see if the dolphins can play on the road in that environment It would be Tyriex retiring because they played in Germany this year. What a great story. Tyriex houses on fire this way. I did see that.
Starting point is 01:12:12 Everyone's okay. He does have a lot of baby monitors that are doing at the same time probably overloaded the grid. Well, it was actually a child who started it with the lighter. That rocks. Yeah. That kid's gonna be cool. Just gotta tell him to go outside with that. Yeah, that kid's gonna be awesome. Yeah. All the best people that I hang out with to this day were kids that started fires when they were like seven. Yeah. That's a fact.
Starting point is 01:12:32 Hank definitely started fire with a certain. I have never started fire. Well, Hank, really? That's a lot. Hank has definitely started fire. If you were to ask me inside, is there one person that you know was definitely a kid that leaned way back in his chair in school to the point that he fell over? If there's if you were to ask inside is there one is there one person that you know was definitely a kid that
Starting point is 01:12:45 Leend way back in his chair in school to the point that he fell over and also maybe played with fire Both those answers are going right to Hank Lockwood. I was a hugely nurse still am. Yeah fire I think my parents were good at like proofing the house of like Lighters and stuff they kept it away way for me. me. It's probably smart, probably for the best. I have a stat for everyone, just so that we can do one smart thing on this show from my friends and sports info solution. The bills, defense, they play a lot of middle of the field,
Starting point is 01:13:16 open coverage, this cover two, cover four, cover six, and two is the fourth best quarterback in the league against that. Okay. So, might be Dolphins get back on track, a little no-jailin' model hurts a lot. It does. I feel like that's a big loss on their offense.
Starting point is 01:13:32 And like, when you just eliminate one super, super fast guy, you have to worry about, makes it a little bit easier. And then obviously the Dolphins are gonna deal without Bradley Chubb as well. Right, for the rest of the season. And most of the events, even how are both in practice today. Yeah, it's bad. So what are you hoping for just in terms of the setup for this game on Sunday night?
Starting point is 01:13:53 How do you want to go into this game? I want to go into it now having it either be win or in or win or out for the bills. I don't. I just in terms of like getting my getting amped up for the game. I understand that the boys judge based on what we put on the bills to win the Super Bowl. I do I would rather not have a future die on Sunday night. I would just like to feel a lot. I know I agree. I understand if I if I eliminated that part, it would be pretty cool. But think you're
Starting point is 01:14:19 not thinking about how cool it would be to have it be losing go home and then you win that game. True. That would be awesome. True. What a thrill. It would be losing go home and then you win. Then you would. So have the bills be lose and you go home, but then you actually win that game.
Starting point is 01:14:36 Like the scenario going. Oh, yeah. Picture this. Okay. It's their back like so Mike Turekow Chris Collins worth and the bills have to win this game. Yeah, and before Chris says a single word on the broadcast He just laughs. Yeah, haha. This is the kind of football. Yeah, that's I agree with you. They for for the Television audience. It's absolutely that yeah, the bills are just and it is
Starting point is 01:15:00 It does feel like that's where the bill season has always been where the the volatility is so high for their entire season Where they've looked great and they've looked really really bad to have a spot where they can be the two seed and also be out of the playoffs It's perfect. It is good. We have we have another Celebrity pick for this game. Oh nice. Hopefully you actually makes a pick this. Yeah, I don't know. Let's see. Let's see what he does I'm a Dermott. Sean McDermott kind of had the right idea. Look, I tried to kill Ben Lotton for six years. It can't be any easier than beaten Patrick Mahomes
Starting point is 01:15:38 in the playoffs. Sorry about banning menthol vapes. Coach McDaniels can't be having too much fun. I like the bills. You know, I ran up trillions of them There we go. That's it. I like that. So he does like the bills. Thank you former president Barack Obama He crushed that he made a pick. He made a pick. You got that Hank made a pick. I get about those picks About the bills like the bills. You actually like the bills? Yeah, I think bills, lions, browns, like you had browns and lions in terms of, you know, non-neutral rooting interest in the playoffs and I would throw the
Starting point is 01:16:20 bills in there. Okay. A bills a bills playoff run would be fun. Superbow run. We were gonna accuse a lot of glazing lines. The glazing meter would be high. I'll be Jake laser. I'll do it. I'll do it again. Oh man, if the, I don't know, would it be fine? If the bills won the Superbowl, we would get accused a lot of glazing, but we also could be like, fuck everyone who's like, they stink, why are you glazing a team if it's, if it's bills,
Starting point is 01:16:44 lion, Superbowl, grit week will be justified. Yes. Yep. Start of the championship DVD. Yeah. Good. I mean, also got Wignauts in Vegas. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:53 Yeah, very true. And I don't really understand glazing. So I get it, but it means like we're nutting on them. If they're trying to make fun of us shouldn't it be like we're getting glazed by the bills. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, so we're just... I also just don't... And I think this is a very vocal minority,
Starting point is 01:17:09 so take it with a great assault, because I think there's so many people who listen to this podcast that have no problem with how we operate. I always... It always confuses me, because I think one of the cool things about this show is that we are able to become friends
Starting point is 01:17:23 with some of these athletes, and they like get the show and it's awesome when they have them on. I like protecting those things. Like that's a fun wrinkle to the show that we have some, like we're not just a studio show that's like, we're just talking about these guys, we never meet them, some of them are our friends.
Starting point is 01:17:38 That's fucking cool. Yeah, it is. Like I think that's a cool thing. If people want us to just not be friends with anyone and like I guess we could do that Just say fuck fuck all these guys. I just yeah, I'll be I'll be known as a bills glazer whatever I Don't know I don't think they you're gonna win the Super Bowl They could but they could they could that's really what it is
Starting point is 01:17:59 I don't think they will but they could if they win this game and that's glazing I don't know what I mean I think we're also the first people to say this year that the bills are just not a good team. When a lot of people are making excuses being like, oh, they're gonna figure this out. Correct. They're gonna figure that out.
Starting point is 01:18:13 They have not been a good team for most of the year. Do you know what's actually helped us a little bit? Is the Patrick Holmes has also been not good this year. Because a lot of times it's like, oh, you're glazing Josh Allen, Patrick Holmes is the way better. They both have been not great at times. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:26 They're, they're, they're actually kind of very similar teams to bills and the chiefs where I don't think they're very good, but I also think they're super dangerous. Okay. So what I'm officially rooting for now, I would like to see Kansas City chiefs travel to Buffalo and have to play a game in Buffalo. Well, that would be round two. We could happen.
Starting point is 01:18:44 Yeah. In round two, right? Yeah. They never play in Buffalo. Oh, that would be round two. We could happen. Yeah. In round two, right? Yeah. They never play in Buffalo. That would be awesome. Yeah. That would be quite a game. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:51 Quite a game. Just putting it down to the universe. Also could maybe get us to our Joe Flacco going to Baltimore. Yes. Oh, man. That would be great second round. Wow. Wow.
Starting point is 01:19:02 Did the NFL rocks? It rocks. I've been saying it for the last three weeks. I'm so excited for these playoffs. I don't remember being this excited for playoffs. Like this is these playoffs are chaotic. They're so random. All right. Nerd nugget. In 12 career starts against the Dolphins. Bill's quarterback, Josh Allen, has led the bills to a 10-in-2 record. 34 passing touchdowns. That's the most of any QB by versus a single opponent. Since the start of 2018, he's also thrown multiple passing touchdowns in That's the most of any QB by versus a single opponent since the start of 2018 He's also thrown multiple passing touchdowns and all 12 games in his career against the dolphins
Starting point is 01:19:30 Which is the longest streak by quarterback against a single opponent and NFL history. Yeah, he owns the dolphins It was the heat was the only thing that beat him. Mm-hmm. What's the weather? Can we get a weather up? 69 degrees not gonna be real? Yeah Ashley told his advisors six degrees. We're not in his pants gonna be real yeah Ashley told us all advisors six degrees. We audited in his pants 69 degrees. Oh I see the potential rain light rain but nothing okay little drizzle. It's how kind of cool yeah with the fire it's always nice. Little little little light rain on the visors yeah although if it's like a light drizzle doesn't that make the ball wetter than if it's super super rainy I don't know I don't know how that works either. Yeah, it's just something I've heard. Okay. I'm thinking about Josh Allen going into contact trying to ladder the ball. Yeah, slipping worried about that a little bit. Shout out our friend Alec Engold by the way made a pro bowl. Yes, full back for the dolphins. You can see that. Hell yes. Okay, should we do our picks and you got to update. It's over. Yeah, should this just be me and memes picking? That's the only thing that's stay here. It's a maximum
Starting point is 01:20:30 Yeah, I'm fine with that Hank. I've already said I'm gonna pick every bad team loss that I'm two and a half up on memes with two to place That's good. I like that so just the two of you guys pick and it should be worth noting max has 18 and a half of memes is 18 So a tie favors max are like the bears a lot. I don't like the idea of them tying. Shut up. Well, last year, I think there was a tie and we rolled it over to Super Wild Card Weekend. Okay, last year.
Starting point is 01:20:55 No, you're saying you don't like the idea of a tie. Yeah, I'm just thinking ahead if there's a tie. Yeah, we were just going to see. Yeah, you should go neck, eat. If there's a tie between the two of you you guys both Have thing right no you guys both will have to make three picks next week for our wild card weekend Do man show? Too man show no
Starting point is 01:21:15 Okay, so and then also what's the pancakes update so pancakes is getting really tight in some places It's a hang having a historically bat. It's like the same as the Eagles. Hank 54, Jake 53, big cat 44, PFT 43, max 36, memes 30. Good. Just a reminder for everyone, we're going to do this stream probably the next week or two. It's the pancake challenge of, uh, hours and pancakes. So it means loses. He would have 24 pancakes or 24 hours. So every pancake he eats is one less hour. Memes said that he'd be out of there in three hours. So you're doing zero for first. So you could eat 21 pancakes in three hours.
Starting point is 01:21:56 Seven an hour. There's no way. I don't know, let's find out. Okay, we will. Zero pancakes for first, three pancakes, second and six pancakes, 12, 18 and 20. We're in the great tone. I like that. Six or 12, but no problem.
Starting point is 01:22:08 A great meal of pancakes. Yeah. I mean, I'll hang out for four hours. I'll be kind of bummed. Cause I want to eat some pancakes. Yeah, first place sucks. Yeah, first place sucks. Maybe I can eat for fun.
Starting point is 01:22:20 No, no, no, absolutely not. You could not have any pancakes. Absolutely not. Damn. All right, so picks Take just swear. Yeah, he did. He said dang pancakes are good. Yeah, but you can't do it because that makes it fall makes like the second place Of course you got a you got a follow-up Understood I don't know if I'm rooting for six or 12 because we're one or one apart 12 room for 12 12 is a little bit of a challenge.
Starting point is 01:22:45 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge.
Starting point is 01:22:53 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge.
Starting point is 01:23:01 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 12 is a little bit of a challenge. 21 pancakes and three hours is so wrong. It's gonna take my prediction 12 to 16 hours. It's crazy how bad I am at these punishments. Well, you're just bad in general. The only one that I didn't lose is the only thing I'm good at.
Starting point is 01:23:17 Which baseball. What? The only thing. What you did bad at everything? Yeah, I mean, I was good at baseball. Oh wait, I thought you were gonna say that the eating pancakes. I could I yeah That's true. No, but even that I'm not good at yeah, you really get it was I good at eating the hot dogs Yeah, you know why you guys roasted me because I wasn't good at eating the hot I miss remember Why don't you eat some pancakes and hot dogs?
Starting point is 01:23:45 That is another thing. I mean, that is another thing. That's actually. So many Ls that I have, but how about that dub when I just told Pete Weber to fuck off when I both, both the strike to get out of there? Yeah, I forgot about that. I don't remember that.
Starting point is 01:23:57 That was a sick dub. I don't remember that. We have some more important to talk about. I think we just invented a delicious breakfast meal, which is a hot dog wrapped in a pancake. It's like the Macrital of hot dog. Yeah, it's delicious. Oh, there's nothing better than put a little syrup
Starting point is 01:24:12 on your sausage. I'm gonna eat a Maclizzi. We should add a little weenie. Weenie, he's taking that, yeah. Yeah. I, I, my, fuck. My son and I, when he's changing, he's like, look at my weiner, my little weiner, and then the other day, we were cooking,
Starting point is 01:24:33 and he's like, he's like, look at my hot dog, look at my weiner, and then I was like, do you want a hot dog for dinner? And he's like, my penis, and I was like, oh God. That happened. I don't know why I fell through my head, but yeah, he said that in front of his mom and she's like, what?
Starting point is 01:24:46 I gotta correct that parenting. No, he's doing great. Wee-er's a hot dog. It is funny to call your penis, your hot dog, your weener. We can take this out if Big Cat wants it out, but when we were coming back from Arizona. Oh yeah, no, it was pretty funny. So we're flying back and then his daughter goes like I have a China Yeah, and then it's not good announced it. It's not like and I have a penis. Yeah, they were just announcing it
Starting point is 01:25:12 Just for no reason. I was like yeah, can then we I think they said I think I think when I was like and we both have butts Yeah, we both have butts Yeah, cool. I can nailed it. We're just fucking doing anatomy for everyone. Okay, picks. All right. I'm going lines minus 3 1 1 2 Because it is the earlier game and the game's a neat that mattered to the lines or after them So Dan Campbell will get the boys fired up. Okay, five. No max I Really need to win this and my favorite pick you're good at talking out of Mike no my favorite pick of this Weekend is going to be bears plus three. Yeah
Starting point is 01:25:55 All right, so you'll be with me. Yeah, so yeah, I really was fucking go Max is getting smarter He's he's he's understood how to play this game. I'm proud of you, Matt. Yep, yep. And my total will be, he doesn't realize though that the chess always works against him. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 01:26:14 Because if the bear's loose, I'll be sad, but then I'll be like, you're the loser. Max says he's gonna get the top. I'll be like, you are the biggest loser. He's memorized the opening game in chess. Yeah, he has, he has no, what's the nights get developed? He is a sick first move. And then he's like, wait, how did I end up
Starting point is 01:26:31 with a gun at my head again? Yeah. That's a felt. I don't really think I had, okay. My toe move would have been to take the packers then laugh at me when they went. No, because then when they lost, it would be like, you would just be rough. You're like, I don't care, I hate you. Yeah, I don't care. No, you have a max., it would be like, you would just be rough.
Starting point is 01:26:45 You're like, I don't care. I don't care. Yeah, I don't care. No, you have a max. That's like the bears win. You're gonna be. But it's a gamble. You should try to maximize your happiness.
Starting point is 01:26:53 Right, you've basically just put yourself in a bad spot where it's like, if the bears win, you don't get any of the glories, I'm gonna suck all that up. I don't need the glories. I just don't wanna do the game. Well, the fact I was going by one or two, then it's max is the best case scenario. Yeah, I guess that's what you're rooting for. No, that's exactly what we're rooting for. I just don't want to do the game. Well, the packer's going by one or two, and that's Max's best case scenario.
Starting point is 01:27:05 Yeah, I guess that's what you're rooting for. No, that's exactly where you're going. You win it, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's it. You got one play. You got one play. OK. And then my total is Raven's Steelers under.
Starting point is 01:27:17 I think it's 35. OK, 35 and a half to five. What was it, 1710 the first time? I think it's supposed to be a shit weather game. And back up quarterbacks. Okay memes damn I was gonna take the opposite but I'll go over 45 bears Packers. Oh Lot resting on that game. Mm-hmm. So who's in lead right now? Max is up a half so if they tie max means is doing so if max wins on Saturday
Starting point is 01:27:43 So the Bears Packers game could mean nothing. It might yeah. Yeah. Max could, Max wins Saturday, memes could lose Sunday afternoon or morning. Right. And then Bears Packers would mean nothing. Yep. We're hoping for both of them to win, so it means something. Or lose. Be in conjunction. All right. Or tie. Or tie. All right, fantasy fuck boys. And then we'll get to our double interviews. We got Jim Bofischer and Cam Jordan. What's up? My name's Ronnie or about air. Chay. My stardom. Luke Littler. Luke Littler. 16 year old dot phenom. Yeah. Made it all the way to the finals. Came up a little show up. But he's 16 years old. He's the next he's the next he's the next he's the next who's your favorite dot-tist who's next Luke Littler? Oh, what's the ball guys name?
Starting point is 01:28:34 Thank her when thank her when Michael smit. Oh Michael Michael Well, like you really like dots. You should maybe come to dot stay next year It's Luke Littles season. I was in Chicago last year. I said them Stephen Hawking Yeah, oh appropriate absolute fraud. Pete's shit. Always be sitting. Mm-hmm He couldn't even talk he couldn't even walk he divorces wife. What a fucking loser. Yeah, then he shows up on the log Oh, he's on the logs on the logs. The logs big time doing some weird fucking shit He was in a submarine. They took up. They built him a submarine and took him down underneath the water
Starting point is 01:29:11 Said you heard you like to get wet. Oh, come on. Come on. Come on, Jake Okay, and my system is football or my sleeper sleeper Saturday football That's time of the year. Where's that? They play off games games all weekend. Hey, I got it I was it Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie a ribbon dick off games all weekend. Hey, I got it. What was it, Ronnie? Ronnie? Ronnie of Reve-de-Ditch. Ronnie of Reve-de-Ditch, I got some, I got some breaking news for you. Oh.
Starting point is 01:29:32 They play Saturday football all year. Not that's called college football. Not that big time. Not the big time. OK, all right. OK. Hey, what's up? It's Tommy DeVito again.
Starting point is 01:29:42 How's it going? What's up Tommy? I was going to sit in this weekend, that's fine, so whatever. My style this weekend is MLK merchandise. Make sure to do your holiday shopping a couple weeks early. If you have anybody in your close circle of friends or online communities, make sure to purchase
Starting point is 01:29:57 your signed bus passes for your loved ones today to make sure they arrive in enough time. If there's anybody out there that you think might enjoy that now is the time to act on it. I'm sitting my starters. Yeah, no calamari, no bush out of this weekend. Gotta rest up for the playoffs. See your starters going healthy. And sleeper is Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy Kimmel is going to be my sleeper. There's no evidence to support. He is a pedophile. So for the record the fancy fuck boys will be the first to say Jimmy Kimmel not a pedophile pedophile time knowledge on this show You think Aaron Rogers might be one of the redacted names. Oh, I was thinking about it
Starting point is 01:30:37 It's my sleep because I thought I thought to myself is might be a Taylor Swift situation Where he signed with New York so when you Google is Aaron Rogers Jets It bearing all the results. Yeah frozen Disney just something to think about that is Aaron Rogers a pedophile a lady Doth protest too much. We don't know Alright my stottem. What's up guys? It's it's DJ Polly day. My stottem is football sandwich, savor it Guys, it's DJ Polly Day. My stottom is football sandwich, savour it, love it, make love to it. It's week 18.
Starting point is 01:31:09 You gotta fucking just embrace every second. We got left. My sitem is Nick Seriani, that fucking fraud Italian piece of shit, firearm. I actually wrote this before. I heard about AJ Brown. AJ Brown did say, AJ Brown, Nick, great guy.
Starting point is 01:31:24 Yeah, so guess what, Nick, the quick, you're back into the stottoms. My sleep was Aaron Rogers, because Aaron Rogers, I think he was just joking. Just kidding around. How was I think he was just... It was a bit...
Starting point is 01:31:36 Ew. So, guys being dudes. I really do... I do think he was joking. He's got a fucked up sense of humor. He is a jerk. I really, like, if you watch that clip, do think he was joking. He's got a fucked up sense of humor. He is a jerk. I really, like if you watch that clip, I think he was joking.
Starting point is 01:31:49 Well, he's like kind of implied that Kimmel runs in those circles. Right. And then Kimmel talked about him on his show. And then Aaron Rogers was like, I'm just gonna fire one last shot at him. I just saw it and I was like, I don't think he's accusing him.
Starting point is 01:32:01 I think he's just fucking around. Well, a lot of people did say that he was on the list. That's the thing. Okay. And I think there was somebody on the original logs that got passed around that might have been fake, might have been real, but even if they were real, all you saw was like MMEL at the end of somebody's name.
Starting point is 01:32:16 Yeah. And so everyone was like, look, it's Jimmy Kimmel. Just for the record, I don't think that Jimmy Kimmel is on the list. Yeah. I don't either. And I will update that if I'm wrong. And I will. No, you don't think that Jimmy Kimmel is on the list. Yeah, I don't either. And I will update that if I'm wrong. And I will, no, you know what?
Starting point is 01:32:29 I'm gonna deny it. Jimmy Kimmel likes grown women. Yes, facts. Grown-ass women. Put it out there. Okay, let's get to our interviews. We got Jimbo Fisher, Cam Jordan, great interviews. Before we do that, PFT, you wanna talk about optimum nutrition?

Starting point is 01:33:21 Build your routine, unlock your potential available at stores nationwide. And now here's Jimbo Fisher. Oh. Okay, we now welcome on a very special guest. He is a BCS national champion coach. It is coach Jimbo Fisher coach. We're gonna call you coach just so you know. We like to do that.
Starting point is 01:33:44 We want to talk about everything, but we wanted to have you on to first and foremost talk about these playoffs and the national championship that's coming up. So we'll start there. What is it when you watch those semifinal games and it could be Michigan or Washington. What jumped out to you and what they're doing that has gotten them to this point playing for a title on Monday night? You know, I mean, you start with Michigan. I mean, Michigan's ability to overcome play hard.
Starting point is 01:34:14 And I know their ability on the defensive line, to control Alabama's offensive line, was a little bit, it's not shocking, but I mean, I think it surprised some people. And I think their ability on defense to create the game and dictate the game. I thought Jesse Mentor, you know, it's funny.
Starting point is 01:34:30 I knew Jesse when he was a kid. I coached for his dad Rick for one year as the OC and since then, he met Mike Tom, the Moron staff there together. And Jesse was a little kid running around there. It's funny how he's grown up and done such a great, I mean, they really did a heck of a job on defense. I mean, it was amazing. heck of a job on defense.
Starting point is 01:34:45 I mean, it was amazing. McCarthy made the plays. They're able to be physical and make plays when they had to make it. And they've got that hit factor. They're able to make the plays and do the things no matter what. I think all the controversy has really bonded that group
Starting point is 01:34:58 of guys and their own mission. When you watch Washington, I mean, that same thing. Everybody doubts them to be an underdog and everything they do. And I'm gonna tell you what, nobody in college football has made more big plays and more big moments of Michael Pinnix has. Yeah. I mean, Pinnix is app, I mean, their receivers are amazing, the offensive lines are amazing. But you got to have that quarterback to do the things in the big moments and the big times. And Pinnix is absolutely amazing right now when the year he's had and the things he's done. And to me, I mean, maybe he's been the most consistent
Starting point is 01:35:29 best player in college football. Now, I'm gonna take that at any and any disrespect anybody else, but man, he just every time they need something, he makes a play. Yeah, at the start of the Michigan game, they got off to a really, really slow start when I think McCarthy threw an interception on the first pass of the game. It got overturned and brought back, but they seemed, they seemed nervous. Both teams seemed nervous jumping into that game. What does it tell you about Michigan that they were able to see that and then put that immediately behind them and then focus on winning? I mean, I think team once they settle down and people on the mission, I always say this,
Starting point is 01:36:03 some guys can get caught in a moment and they stay in the moment. Other guys can, all right, that's there. I wash it behind me. Not only matters what happens going forward. That's a very mature team. A team that's driven, a team that has very good leadership. And from a coaching standpoint and a player standpoint.
Starting point is 01:36:19 Because that's been, like they said, it's been a whole, all your great teams are player led team. Everybody says that, you know, that's a player led team. whole your great teams are player led team. Everybody says that, you know, that's a player led team. All your great teams are player led team. They take the, they take the messaging from the coaching to take it there. And their ability to overcome and adapt and then to create a last drive. And then to dominate the overtime like they did was pretty amazing. Yeah, it was two, two great games.
Starting point is 01:36:40 Uh, it's great that we have the playoff. Are you, are you a fan of the 12 team playoff that we're gonna have next year? I mean, I- I definitely am. Yeah, more football, more fun. Well, I think you're gonna have some, how many more, think about this, think about November now, all your games come,
Starting point is 01:36:55 at the end of the day, at the end of this November now, there's what, six, eight teams that we're really involved in a playoff and that's all you're watching. Now, you're gonna have 25, 30 teams that are capable of getting in the playoff. And so I think the excitement of college football because I'm a thing, I hate to say this,
Starting point is 01:37:11 the 14 playoff to me, what is good as the VCS. I think the 14 has been a let down a little bit. And I say that because of how they set it up with having, you got five conference champions, the only four spots you created, controversy off the bat. So I was going to clean it up a lot better in my opinion to be a lot better do. I think so. I think as a fan of college football you want to see an expanded playoff.
Starting point is 01:37:30 I don't know. Do you think it's going to be? Are we going to see upsets in the first round of a 12 round playoff or 12 team playoff? I think you will. I think here's the thing about playoffs. It it where we're so different than pro football in the. The legs never interact and never play each other. If it is, it's a one game deal. So you don't really know the significance of how good Washington is when they play an SEC team or an SEC team that goes and plays a big tent. You don't know how they're going to interact
Starting point is 01:37:56 because like in pro football, we get to see that regularly. In college football, you don't get to see that. So I think you're going to see that. And I think what you don't tell the toll on those gains and the injuries in those first rounds are going to lead. I think different teams in the background because now you only got to win one or two games. I mean, you know, play one or two games now that the number of games is going to change that too. I think injuries and I think the teams that play into tougher leagues are going
Starting point is 01:38:19 to suffer more because you're going to have more the toe on your body going the whole time is going to have a big impact. Yeah. It's been funny to see, you know, the conference pride really comes out, especially in the 14 playoff. You got, you know, fans rooting for their conference almost. What about you? Were you pulling for Alabama coach?
Starting point is 01:38:35 Yeah, it was. Were you really? I was pulling for Alabama. Not just, I mean, I'm not nicking out, been together a long time and I know we, everybody says we fight and argue and all that good stuff we did but that's like we came from the same area and we coached together and I know and I want him to win. I did want him to win and not anything against Jess but I want Michigan to do well new Jesse now but just I knew Nick and the guys and the local you know being in the league. Yeah so speaking of coach Sabin this year was weird for him because it felt like he had a down team
Starting point is 01:39:03 but he then ended up back in the playoffsoff. What is it about his program? You obviously have been around him a long time. Coached against him. What is it about Nick Sabin that makes it so that like a season that you feel like could get away. He's just always got him on track getting better every week. Well, I think he's built a culture and they've had success. And his word mean that the players trust his word, but to me, it's a consistent messaging. He never, he never gets too high stays, you know, he's a process
Starting point is 01:39:32 oriented guy. And that's what it's about. You've got to be process oriented basis. All the people in the world are successful that consistently do it or process oriented and they stay in that process. And I think that's what it is. And I think, you know, he's driven. I mean, he, you know, that's him his competitive nature and what he does. And he was able to message those guys, but they bought it in and where they really
Starting point is 01:39:51 got better going to season, Mill Road got better and the offensive line got better. And I think that's the thing that let him down in the end is, you know, the offensive line, the mission because defensive line got after him a little bit. But I think they're improving on the offensive line in court. As a matter of fact, the quarterback grew up in the second half of the bar game. We were ahead and half time. court. Matter of fact, the quarterback grew up in the second half of our game. We were ahead at half time and he, you know, he's, we held him the negative yards rushing. They had 20 yards rushing as a team and he come out and through for a bunch of yards. So, I mean, his development and what he did, but his, I think consistent messaging is what's
Starting point is 01:40:17 a lot of it and be successful. Yeah. So, who do you have in the championship game this year? Who are you going to give us? Man, another piece of bulletin board material to one of these teams. Man, I tell you what, I want to study a little more. I mean, it's six one might have done. I know Michigan's a favorite before and a half. I think they're deep in the line. What they've been as a team, McCarthy's underrated athletically, moves around, makes more plays than people give him credit for. But I'm gonna tell, I go back to that other thing. When you got a quarterback that
Starting point is 01:40:42 makes every play, it's going to be an interesting, the offensive line at Michigan, Washington, which is really good. The receivers at Washington, which are really good in the quarterback, going against that defense is going to be one heck of a matchup. And can Michigan establish long drives, they're running the football and controlling that,
Starting point is 01:41:00 keeping him off the field. It's really an interesting dynamic of how they play out, whose lines and who can, you know, Pinnix may not get the opportunities he gets, you know, most games, if Michigan can control the ball and run the football like they want to. So I think it's interesting,
Starting point is 01:41:14 but I'm not picking against Michigan. I think it's gonna be, I think it's a toss up, I really do, but man, when you got a quarterback like Pinnix, but McCarthy is really good. That guy's only lost one game was a starter. No, it's like when James West for us, James was 27 and one. That was the only loss he ever had was for us.
Starting point is 01:41:29 For that kid, they're one, that's four, you know, two of your top four all-time college football win leaders. Yeah. Is James and McCarthy and then the other two guys that hit of them a long time ago. And it says, there's a neck. Both are winners. So I think it's going to be
Starting point is 01:41:45 a heck of a game. I don't have a decision yet. I can if I have more film to watch I can tell you but man it's going to be fun to watch. Yeah so we are huge James fans. We love him. We think he's just a breath of fresh air. We want to see him get a starting job again in the NFL. You obviously coached him in college. Well one one question I question I have is, you know, the time he came out and his full uniform when he was suspended. What, what did you say to him there? That's one of my favorite. Because it, it James just wants to play.
Starting point is 01:42:14 Well, here's the thing. It wasn't his fault. Oh, it was actually our equipment, guys, fault. Here's what happened. It was not, his uniform was not supposed to be in his locker. Okay. When he came down to the locker, it was always said, if you uniform time in your locker, you dressed.
Starting point is 01:42:28 Well, for some reason, I was see, he was supposed to be suspended for a half of that game. The night before the game, the administration changed it to a full game. Okay, the night before. Well, the equipment guys didn't get that memo. So they put his jersey, they put his uniform in his locker thinking he was gonna play the second half. When Jamis came down, he said, all right, and the uniform's in my locker,
Starting point is 01:42:58 I guess they won't win the dress. He was just gonna go on the sideline and stay in. Because the whole night before when he found that out, he spent the whole time trying to get Sean McGuire ready. James was fun to coach. He's the smartest individual ever coach. And I don't know if teammates actually loved him to death. So when he came down, he just put the uniform on and went out to warm up and said, you know,
Starting point is 01:43:18 saying, I don't want to dress or be embarrassed. So he was doing it and was going to stand on the sideline. And actually, if we hadn't had the uniform in the locker room He wouldn't address so really he got a bum wrap for that and I walked out and I said James She can't do that. He said yes, sir and immediately ran into it wasn't a big deal. So really it wasn't his fall Yeah, and it just becomes a clip in social media and obviously people are like, you know I just assumed that James just wants to play ball so bad. He's like, you know, I'm gonna put on my Case yeah, but it was the ultimate teen guy people, you know, I'm gonna put on my shirt. Oh, he was. Okay, so yeah. But he was the ultimate team guy.
Starting point is 01:43:46 People have no, James, I'm gonna say this as a player. He spent as much time with every walk on our team as he did every starter. He knew the equipment guys, he knew the janitors, he knew everybody in that building, spoke to him was nice to never saw himself as a celebrity. Was always one of the guys and spend as much time with
Starting point is 01:44:07 Every walk on on that team as he did with the with the starters on the team James never saw that about himself and was the greatest teammate around and was the smartly individual and prepared His preparation was was unbelievable. Yeah, did you ever have to dial him in during games? Cause he does like to throw the ball around. He likes to take chances. He likes to make great throws. Oh yeah. Oh, it was totally aggressive intelligence.
Starting point is 01:44:32 You know what I was saying? You know, you gotta be aggressive. But you gotta be intelligent. No one to do it. And James always hit. And there was a couple times on the side. I didn't get animated with, I didn't care. Understand some.
Starting point is 01:44:40 Here's what James was. I'll give you this as an example. If we practiced on Monday night, and we did the basic things, and tomorrow we're going in the first, down, second, down, our shop plays, our short yardage goal line in 13, on Wednesdays is red zone, tight zone, all your calls.
Starting point is 01:44:54 The night before, he would go off the practice field, he would watch his film on his laptop. He would sit in there and watch film till about 9, 30, 10 o'clock at night, and we left about 10, 10 10 30 on those nights as a staff I get an awkward door about a half hour four. I left He said coach. I know Demore say for ends of tomorrow's third down day in red zone He said I like this these five things on third and five third and three to six
Starting point is 01:45:16 I like these on seven to ten third and long reds up. He would do it tonight He said I like these and give me a list of things. I like he said you see anything else will go tomorrow Whatever you see this is what I see and what you see I like these and give me a list of things. I like, he said, if you see anything else, we'll go them tomorrow, whatever you see. This is what I see and what you see. So our preparation and interaction, I give him a lot of input in what we did. And we would communicate that way. And then he would go in the next day.
Starting point is 01:45:35 So he was like a coach. I mean, he really was. I mean, he was like, and so we would own a silent. We'd bicker about calls and finally I say, James, that's enough. He'd say, yes, sir, and move on. But his preparation and time, people saw his disrespect. It wasn't the amount of time he prepared and the things he did as a leader was was was undescribable and it really was
Starting point is 01:45:53 and the players knew it. So we had they were laugh as they say they said we act like old Mary couple on a field in practice. We'd be arguing back and forth and I say, all right. And I'd say, you know what? It's good to be the king. I'm the boss. Be quiet. Yeah. That's great. Yeah. I mean, he seems like that type of guy. So in terms of right now, there has to be a little small
Starting point is 01:46:12 party that's like, obviously, the ending of Texam wasn't exactly what you wanted. But you probably are thinking like it's not the worst to have a little bit of break of the transfer portal, the NIL, because it feels like the change in college football, football coaches now, that job just never ever stops. It's the last two to three years of this thing. It's been more change in college football than ever.
Starting point is 01:46:38 It's unbelievable how this is transformed. And I tell somebody, and in February, you can't have kids on campus in July, you can't, that's just an NCAA rule. Every other weekend of every month of the year you're working seven days a week, every day, and you got recruits, you got people, you got,
Starting point is 01:46:55 there's somebody on your campus, and things going on, it's our staff work every other weekend, except for those two months. I mean, so you basically 45 weekends a month around is what we work year-round in its chain. And then I understand this, think if the NFL was open for the agency.
Starting point is 01:47:13 And now they just passed the other rule that it's unlimited transfers. It wasn't just one, now it's unlimited. You know, you don't have to wait till you graduate. Think of every contract in the NFL right now was negotiable. I mean, it's unbelievable. And then people play tamper with players into that. I mean, colleagues football right now,
Starting point is 01:47:30 it needs a, it needs a commissioner. And needs a commissioner. And we need to do this thing the right way. I've got a lot, I mean, and we, and go to get your 50 or 60 teams, whoever's going to be in Division 1, make it more like an NFL league, intertwine your leagues of play a lot more so you can get a true playoff picture and play it more like you do the NFL and do it the right way. Yeah. Who do you think will be good in that role? That's a good question. I mean, there can be a lot of guys that can be an ex coach.
Starting point is 01:47:55 I mean, an ex-commissioner that runs it. I mean, a coach's going to do it, but a commissioner is done. I mean, I haven't thought that out. I mean, but you have to get some of your top commissioners in the world. I think some of your ex top coaches or people who have been in it would be good. Somebody who really has an inner work and understand the inner workings of what we as coaches
Starting point is 01:48:13 and what a program goes through is going to be the guy that has to do that. I'm gonna throw a name out there. You might know this guy. I believe he's from West Virginia as well. Oliver Luck. Yeah, I mean, possibly could. I mean, I know of Oliver.
Starting point is 01:48:25 I don't know Oliver because I grew up right there outside in Morgantown about 30 miles in Clarksburg. I can say Nick and I are about 15 miles apart right there through there, but it's a big eye, but you need somebody with a world that really gets it that understands it. And you know, maybe it's one of your commissioners that are out there now. I don't know that, you know what I'm saying? But I mean, it's, it's this game, people have no idea the stress it's on a staff right now. The, and the amount of people you have to have to run an organization now, people want to cut back or crazy.
Starting point is 01:48:57 Because in mind of time, you got to spend on the phone with recruits with your own players and the head coaches roll the head coaches that coach now, man, it's hard. Yeah. Because you're having to recruit your own players back in the relationships you're building, the building just spend time going to day, interacting with them, calling, talking, with his families. It is, it's so different now that some believe it. I said it maybe a year or two ago, but I think a couple of teams have done it, but like
Starting point is 01:49:22 every program, major college football program, should have a GM, an actual GM who acts like a GM, like an NFL GM, where like you're, you're helping and assisting the roster building and all that stuff, because I don't know how you can do both coaching and be a GM year round. Well, your plan is always a coach you can because you don't got to, they got a judge them, but you still got to prove them what you're playing and what you're doing with. But you got to have a GM who's, all right, these are our guys we're recruiting. This is what we do. We see the roster man in this way. There's no doubt. You have a GM. We all hired him. Yeah. Been hired him for a long time. Yeah. And you have to have him. And as a head coach, he's still got to have a good grasp and feel because what can happen there, just like an NFL, which I don't
Starting point is 01:50:01 always mean you got a GM and a head coach. They can't be one. I don't think you can do both, but they got to have an unbelievable working relationship. Yeah. That relationship right there. And the guy you can trust, who knows what you want in players? Who know what the system is? Who know what the characteristics of people you want? All that is, it's a very important role now.
Starting point is 01:50:20 And the amount of people you've got to hire, because you don't understand the amount of phone time to recruit 25 guys, you're starting at a thousand to six hundred then you're just mining that list down The amount of phone time you're spending on it on the phone communicating with those guys is unbelievable because it head coach The coaches got to go coach at some point right so you got to have a whole personnel department and Goops it recruit freshmen and crew to crew sophomores, groups to recruit, because if you're not recruiting freshmen sophomores right now, when you get an eight-year-old star to your juniors, they say, well, you didn't want me, you're out.
Starting point is 01:50:50 So you have no idea that now in a time and amount of people you have to have behind the scenes to run your organization. Yeah, and then you got people leaking word to slice bread on social media, and all sorts of things out there. Slice bread, I'm gonna just put this out there. I think Sliced Bread is probably a listener of this podcast.
Starting point is 01:51:10 If I had to bet, so I'd like to give you the opportunity to directly address Sliced Bread in his report about Texas A&M. Here's what I'm gonna tell you. The college football change don't lie. I'm gonna write a book on this one day. I'm gonna write a book then now. I wish I when he wrote those numbers I said my guy words of that. I wish that what happened. Yeah, I really
Starting point is 01:51:30 had all that. I mean I'm gonna tell you this the amount of NIL deals that A&M at that time, all sports combined. He said we are class of 35 million. There was less than a million, there's right at a million dollars for all sports combined. Yeah. Those, you know, that's why we, that's why I've sent me so much about it, is that not it, all right, you can insinuate all those things have always been said, guys, Bob, but you were insinuating the families of it. And I'm telling you, that was as far from the truth as anything was ever out there. And, and here's a big thing, all of the media went and ran with that story as truthful with that ever checking there. And and the here's a big thing. All of the media went and ran with that
Starting point is 01:52:05 story as truthful with that ever checking it. And I'm talking about the big dogs. Well, I'm talking about people we regard it as highly respected guys. The college football change is on a lot. Well, I'm going to write a book about it one day. You don't need to check it. It's sliced bread. He's the most reliable source out there. It's sliced bread. He's only five billion. That's written in stone. Do you? Yeah. It's just funny how all that goes and everybody says,
Starting point is 01:52:29 oh, it's on the internet, it's good. It had to happen. And that is as far from the truth as ever. And now it's turning to a zoo. Did you ever think you'd get to point your coaching career speaking to the internet where your buyout is like, you know, disgust every single day because it was, I mean, listen, your contract, your contract,
Starting point is 01:52:48 so you should never apologize for the money you make, but it did become like this big thing, Jimbo's buyout, buyout, people tweeting it, people talking about it, everyone knows it by the back of their hand. Like, did you ever think you'd get to that point? No, I honestly, I don't have social media. Right. Believe that or not.
Starting point is 01:53:07 No, I mean, tell me all the stuff we have to have reported. So I mean, it was, but no, I mean, it's amazing. I mean, but it doesn't surprise me. Anything on social media now. Anything to get a hit or get a thing. Yeah, well congrats on the buyout. It's a great number. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:53:20 Yeah. That's a great number. Yeah, like coach O's reaction. I'm not complaining. Yeah, right, right. When coach O had to leave LSU, his coach, oh, it's a great. Yeah, like coach, oh, it's a great. I'm not complaining. Yeah, right, right. When coach, oh, had to leave LSU, his reaction was like, when do you want me to leave and what door you want me to walk out of? I'm sure you didn't want to, you didn't want to finish your time at A&M,
Starting point is 01:53:34 but at the same time, you leave and you're like, hey, I can go play golf for a while. Yeah. Yeah, it's a, it's a, it's a bad six. I do you want to have success, you know, and I still think we got a, there was a heck of a team here and we didn't have some injuries, but we'll get into that later, but here's what I say about this for myself I'll be fine, but here's what you hate about that all those people while we're talking about All the people in recruiting all the people support staff. That's the people when a changeovers made I mean, you're talking about 50 70 75 80 people that can lose jobs, right?
Starting point is 01:54:03 You know, I'm saying and the change over is everything that goes on. That's the people you're sad for. Yeah. I mean, it really is. And I feel like we let it down because we're not there. They were counting on me to have those jobs. And they don't have multi-year contract. Our coaches all had at least,
Starting point is 01:54:16 they at least got one or two years left on a buyout. They're gonna get jobs, they'll be fine. At least be able to get on their feet. Those other guys who are on year-to-year contract, like we were when we first started coaching, we all coached someone in your contract. That's the people I feel bad for. And you know, you know, you try to help out
Starting point is 01:54:31 and make sure we're trying to find jobs all over the place for them. Yeah, tough business for us. So, you obviously, I mean, I would assume you're gonna get the itch to coach again at some point. You're not, you're not an old guy in terms of coaching terms. Is that good? Are you gonna let it settle for a little bit and then be like, all right, where are my options?
Starting point is 01:54:48 Yeah, exactly right. I'm gonna let it settle right. Now, good thing I'm gonna do is spend some time in my family. I actually got to see my son play his last four high school football games. I got to the state semi finals. It was great, you know, because you're missing that all the time,
Starting point is 01:54:59 working on our foundation for kids first fun and all those things. But just get to spend some time with him and this enormous life. And I mean, it does does feel good because you know, you were working, you know, 14, 18 hour days every day and you wake up and you go, well, I want to do that. And I said, whatever the hell I want. Yeah. Yeah. That's nice. That's a weird deal. I mean, it really is. But you know, eventually that time and what you do, you want to get back into it and get the right situation and then get back and coaching. And now you have the great line what you do, you wanna get back into it, and get the right situation, and then get back in coaching.
Starting point is 01:55:25 And now you have the great line, whenever you do coach again, you can be like, my wife told me I had to go get a job. That's like, I feel like that's every coach. She's like, I spent some time in my family that she told me, this is enough time, you gotta go get a job. Exactly right.
Starting point is 01:55:40 I got to say, everybody says, my final, I said, I'm fine, it's a people ranked me. Who's drunk? Yeah, right. I'm up with me every day. You only had to do it for about an hour or two a day now. They're having to do it all day. Were you blindsided by the dismissal this year? Did you did you see this coming at all? No, I mean, you don't ever see a comment because I still thought we would play what we had a great game.
Starting point is 01:55:58 We're going to hope you finish out what probably eight and four. So have a chance to eight four nine and four one nine games. And we had the injuries that happened. So I mean, you, you, because I really think the team we had coming and what we had going was going to be a really good football team. But you know, hey, that's it. That's their, that's their choice. That's what they make. I wish them the best. And I hope those kids have six, six this.
Starting point is 01:56:15 Yeah. Now that you no longer at A&M, maybe you can answer this question freely. Be honest. Do the young leaders, do they creep you out a little bit? No, they're good. They're great. Yeah., I'm gonna tell you something now. Those guys are, they work their tails off and the conditioning they're in, they might have push ups and things they do. I mean, I would tell our players, we got to be as good a condition as a yellow leader as man, those cats work their bloods off. They're good guys. Yeah, they really are. Yeah, so I wanted,
Starting point is 01:56:42 the name Jimbo. As far as I could tell it was because you were named Jim and there was too many gyms already in your family, is that correct? They have my real name, John. Oh, oh. John James, I got John, I'm a junior, John James Fisher junior, but you're right. So my dad was called Jim, Big Jim.
Starting point is 01:57:01 I had an uncle Jim, Jimmy Lee. And there was another, and there was Jim's, Big Jim, Jimmy Lee, Jim, so my aunt one day, and say, funny story, this is a true story. I was in the first grade, and I went to school, so every school teacher calls you by your real name. So the first month of school, I got whip, putting a corner, got in trouble every day for about three to four weeks. I te- you know, so my aunt, who actually named me Jimbo, was the secretary to the principal at the school.
Starting point is 01:57:35 So my, uh, school, my teacher finally after, you know, going to, went up to her and said, my mom, Ann's name was Juan Eda. She said, Juan Eda, I think your nephew, John, I think he either defined, won't listen or he has a hearing. I think he surely has a hearing problem. He will not communicate with me. And my aunt just kept working. And she said, Juan Eda, I'm talking to you. She said, who are you talking about?
Starting point is 01:58:03 She said, your nephew, John, he won't listen to me. She said, try calling him Jimbo. So she started calling me Jimbo, I never got in trouble again. I never wish she was talking to me. I had no idea she was talking to me. I had no idea she was talking to me. That's great. Because they called me, but she named me Jimbo when I was two and it just started.
Starting point is 01:58:21 And I saw there was an internet hoax while back where people said that your actual nickname was slim Jimbo because all you would eat was slim gyms when you were a kid. I wish that were true. I wish that were true. Me too. Now here's, you know where the slim Jim stuff came from and all the my son, all right, here's social media.
Starting point is 01:58:38 Here you go. Here's another social media. My son, Trayma, I always son. He made up a fake account and all things he was he was about twelve ten or twelve for a little help and i was all in a people so he they said give me something about your that he made up this false narrative that i was going to own a one-on-a uh...
Starting point is 01:58:58 beef jerky family and and one of that one accompany of that that's what i want to do in sling so all that stuff came from my son making it up and social media. That's great. That's great. Well, I kept getting, well, you know, and the mail fans started sending me all this beef jerky, the sun jams, all this stuff.
Starting point is 01:59:15 I'm going, why, I don't accept it. I said, why in the hell was everybody sending me all this stuff? I mean, that's great. I don't mind it, but I got to, then in my son laughing one day, he said, look, they said, he pulled up his social media, He was like, what, he showed it to me. He made up all this whole false narrative of all these things I liked and what I wanted. So the fans were sending
Starting point is 01:59:32 me all this stuff. He just made it all up. Yeah. So if you were to own a food processing company, what kind of snack would it be? Oh, yeah. Oh, Lord, I don't know what it may be. Maybe it would be food processing. Yeah. It would be some kind of slim what it may be. It may be, it may be a would be food processing. Yeah. It would be some kind of slim gym factor or something. Be some kind of beef jer, and be deer jerky. Yeah. Some kind of deer jerky.
Starting point is 01:59:52 There you go. So can you describe what your, uh, it might be too early. No, exactly where you want to go. But what would be your ideal type of next job? Well, I mean, just, I mean, a job where you can win it. I mean, in play and, and, and, and, in play and have beat competitive and win championships and win games. And like we did at Florida State, like we did here. And it was still, I was through 2020.
Starting point is 02:00:11 Till we had the injury, we had to, you know, I always say this. I thought in 2020, we were truly the second best team in the country. You know, it's funny. They, at that time, at A&M in 2020, we were the only one lost team in the hit for the SEC never make playoff. Yeah. team in the hit for the SEC Never McBlayer. Yeah, it was with the SEC schedule. Yeah. We ended up re-enranked fifth and it let a high
Starting point is 02:00:30 of state in with six wins and Notre Dame who lost the conference championship just like Georgia did and got out. Because say, I said like going to play off this year. If you want to pick the best four teams, Georgia's still one of those teams. Yeah. I mean, if you want to get down and you get down
Starting point is 02:00:43 and Florida State should have been to play. I know it. It didn't go. I'm an advocate of that one undefeated day deserved to be in it. But, but you know, that whole dynamic of the way, you know, that went and, but I want to go somewhere, you can win and be successful. Which is a lot of spurgings out there and do it. And you can recruit and have fun. I still love working with the kids. I love recruiting and the coaching part of this game. I still a lot of know it's it's changed,. I still love working with the kids. I love recruiting and the coaching part of this game. I still know it's chained, but I still love it. Yeah, we were big advocates for Florida State. If you win all your games like those kids, you tell them at the beginning of the season,
Starting point is 02:01:12 hey, win your games and you have a chance to compete for national title. I don't care injuries and all that, that should be what sport is about. Well, I mean, it's about what you do between the white and every time you're in sports it's about overcoming whatever you got to overcome. Yeah, they did that.
Starting point is 02:01:26 They ought to got bonus points for it, not taking away. We're not figure skating. It's in figure skating. You know what I mean? It's not judgement. And if you want to judge men, and I think George is one. I mean, and we said, well, Alabama shouldn't have got in. Well, let me ask them.
Starting point is 02:01:40 I mean, I know Texas beat them, but you put everybody talking about you, but two one lost teams ahead of him. How many? You know, just one, you put two one lost teams ahead of an undefeated team and ACC champion, which is to whether they won or not, they deserve the right to be in. They earned the right to be in it. And that's the thing about sports, what you do between the white line.
Starting point is 02:02:00 And Texas beat Alabama when Alabama wasn't very good. Alabama was a much better team. And I'm not saying so. I know it was head to head, but they also lost Oklahoma, who lost the UCF, Oklahoma State. Right. So that's why I say the 14, what I don't like about it, they said, if you look at the college playoff,
Starting point is 02:02:17 here's the thing I had a problem with. If you look at the rules and how it's set up, it was set up that they could do whatever they wanted to do with it. Right. Yeah. You know what I'm saying could do whatever they wanted to do with it. Right. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? It wasn't a cut and dry thing. That's why I said to BCS, the computer was actually better
Starting point is 02:02:29 than what we had now. Yeah. Because it's turning into an opinion poll. Yeah. And then what we did, and it was wrong to floor the state, it was wrong, and that have five conferences and four guys getting to play off. What sense is that, man?
Starting point is 02:02:40 That was the whole problem. It turned the gig go with slog. Yeah. It was flawed from the gig go. Yeah. Because I think no one would have had a problem if it was for if it was you know, for conferences and every conference champion just goes because then you play it in between the white lines and it's like, that's how it works. But
Starting point is 02:02:55 no, I better have to say I'm too, too. We got to do some of this. I'm a historian of football. I wanted the history of these bold games to mean something and it's sad to watch. I mean, the teams that have the guys that play have young teams, it's great because there's nothing like, I don't care. Going to a bowl game and the bowl experience for those kids is tremendous. And what we've done to the bowl system is sad. It is. Yeah, a lot of opt-outs. And I understand it from their perspective though. If you're a part understand from the players perspective, but what we do call football wise, that even when there was only two games, you know, two teams, the bowl games meant a lot more. Yeah, I mean, for it came to go win an orange bowl, I would go win a sugar bowl, go, if
Starting point is 02:03:36 you're not in, you know, if that's not one to play off thing, that's a big deal. I'm here sitting as a kid dream, and I could ever coach him one or play him one or, you know, and it's, it's a shame in my opinion. Yeah, it's one of those things We're like 30 years from now. We're gonna look back and explain the system that we had and it's like oh at the end of the season If your team was above 500 they played some other random school in a Stadium sponsored by a lawn mowing company and we're gonna be like wait What does that have to do with football? But yeah, no, that's what I'm excited about the 12 team playoff because it's better.
Starting point is 02:04:05 I think it's better, I definitely do. Meaningful football, but I guess the more important question of BCS or college football playoff, which trophy do you prefer? Because there's a correct answer to this. Which trophy, and what we're going to, I'm missing what that says. The actual like, actual trophy.
Starting point is 02:04:19 The actual trophy. The crystal ball that they used to have or the new one, which is more of like a lumbarity type trophy. Yeah. Would you ever want to make you the champion? Yeah, well, because the crystal ball trophy was the best trophy. It was. Or it was a great.
Starting point is 02:04:33 I don't think it was any doubt. I like that. I mean, I like it because I got the hold of that once. Yeah, right. It's a great trophy. Right. So we just had a holiday season in your house. Is there a rule now like, hey, Christmas or Stry can't go out on the curb
Starting point is 02:04:47 until like January 1st, we got to make sure. That's a funny story. We had already put the Christmas tree out when that happened. Is everybody was looking for something. I had did it before I ever made a decision to even leave Florida State. Was everybody's looking into everything again. And I thought it was cute,. Yeah, we have now on.
Starting point is 02:05:06 I'm going to have to be aware of that. So if I have to change, I'm going to make sure we keep them in to after I go somewhere. Yeah, you got to just make sure. The Christmas tree stays until January 1st, just to be safe. Because you don't want it. That was just peak college football message board. Just everyone looking for something.
Starting point is 02:05:20 It was, I mean, we're fans of the sport. And like, that is part of the sport. It's the story that's all that stuff. That's what betless and it's what so many people are passionate about. So many people love it. That's what makes it so great. Yeah. Yeah. And the the flight tracking is one of my favorite things too. We're guys on message boards. They track the tail numbers of the jets and they can they can figure out which coach is going to interview for which job. So you got to be all over that because I know that they're gonna be watching planes
Starting point is 02:05:45 going in and out of your hometown. You know what somebody out there is get about six planes there and take them all off at once and go six different directions. See where they're going to play. It's about like the president when they get into the one limousine and then the decoys go elsewhere.
Starting point is 02:05:57 Is that correct? You're a witness protection. Yeah, I'm curious from your perspective, what is it about West Virginia that makes for good coaches? I'm a genuine, genuine people. Listen, coaching is about one thing, it's about relationships. You can say it all you want, you're not like that, but you've got to have a relationship
Starting point is 02:06:13 and people got to know you're genuine. There's got to be an honesty to you. And I think West Virginia people are real people. Their pride is in West Virginia versus no proteins. People are genuine, they're honest, they're tough. And I mean, it's a hard living. I mean, listen, my dad, I never forget this story. I was about 12 years old.
Starting point is 02:06:31 I've known it was 10 or 11 years old. And then that smart, L.A.C. routine, my dad was a coal miner. My factory was blown up in a coal miner when I was two. He's in a hospital for six months. And went back, after he was out for two years, he went back to the coal mines. Again, it worked.
Starting point is 02:06:44 I mean, if you're gonna make money, that's where you work. Whether that or a glass factory or something, it was a blue color state. And I was real smart. I was real smart. I was being smart, I like about 11, 12 years old, thought I knew all the answers. And he grabbed me, he had a wave doing things.
Starting point is 02:06:59 Now, I guess he put you in jail for, he said, you know, I don't want to do school work. I ain't going as he's alright. He grabbed me right by the back of the neck and my hair. Got hair and neck. You ever had ever did that? Drug me up to heal. Fill me in a truck and say, come on. We went to the coal mine. We went to the coal mine. We got in a buggy. We went a mile and a half down. He said, all right, get out. But I had to, I'll do this. I'll start, you know, here's what you're wearing. I've got 30 minutes. I minutes I see you know that this ain't very funny. He said you either gonna get an education son Or this is what you're gonna be doing the rest of your life. You got two choices
Starting point is 02:07:31 You know, I'm saying and I said you know what I'm gonna get my education and and ball was a big thing sports is a big thing They're they love it and when I'm it's blue collar people it's honesty So I think the relationships you build your genuine your tough you People want to genuinely tellia like it is. Don't ask them a question if you don't want the answer. Yeah, straight up. Yeah. I mean, it's just the way it is.
Starting point is 02:07:50 It's the people they are. Ball is important. And I didn't want to balance it. I didn't want to work in the coma. It's an I love ball. We grew up loving it. And you know what's funny? All right.
Starting point is 02:07:58 I live in Clark outside of Clark Low Count, Clark Glen Falls, Low Community, Low Combine community. Nick lived in Mananga,, what's it called? You know who lives seven miles right in between us? Where he's from and we're born and raised? John McKay. Okay. So you had him in a fielding yoathe to one six national championships.
Starting point is 02:08:17 It began of the 1900s with Michigan, lived about 15 or 20 miles in grafted from on the other or from about fair view on the other side. He was right. So all of us, it's funny, within about a 25 mile radius, there's like 18 national championships. That's crazy. It's crazy. It is crazy.
Starting point is 02:08:35 I think we love ball. There's genuists. There's a toughness to the people there. There's an honesty to them. And you get what you get and guys want to blow it. We love ball. I don't know. I mean, I always love them.
Starting point is 02:08:44 Cradle of coaches. Well, coach, this has been awesome. I mean, I always love it. Cradle of coaches. Well, coach, this has been awesome. I have one last question, it's a rowback question, rhoback.com promo code take, use it, get your QZips, polo, hoodies, joggers, shorts, fleeces, everything, rowback.com promo code take. This has been so much fun. We appreciate your time.
Starting point is 02:09:00 I had one guy that we had to ask about because I think the time is not like remembering him for his greatness as much as it should. And it's Bobby Bowden. He was like, if you look at the schedule, if you look at the, the years that he stacked up where it was just 11 win season after 11 win season, it really is incredible. What do you accomplish? So what is it?
Starting point is 02:09:21 What was it about Bobby Bowden that you learned or that was special about him that made him such a great great coach? First let me say I was so blessed to be there. They're family took me in like a son I played for Terry and I got to go spend time when they would go visit Florida state They would take me now. I was playing in coach. I would stay at your house I would stay at Bobby's house and go to practice. I would go to bowl games They were getting in a room and I was the OC at Sanford, I was 23 or 24 at the time. We went to the National playoffs. I remember going to the year I got the job,
Starting point is 02:09:50 they were playing Penn State in the blockbuster bowl. Put me in a room when I got to go listen to Coach Bowden, organize a meeting all week just setting about listening to him call games with a headset on. I would set and not be able to talk and just listen to him call plays. But Bobby was genuine. He was honest.
Starting point is 02:10:06 He was the most, I think he's the greatest person that ever walked aside on. I don't mean that at any disrespect anybody else. He was such a godly man who he was every day, what he did every day, the things he that the role we played. And I'm going to say this. And today's time, Bobby, to make Florida stay from 87 to 2008, when 14 straight years
Starting point is 02:10:30 been in the top five and one 10 or more gang when he's only playing 11. That was that run from 1987 till then. And if you remember from 1980 to 86, you know, he lost six in the road to Florida. And he only beat Miami once or twice. And he had never had a record better than nine and three as he built Florida State.
Starting point is 02:10:50 And that was after he went to two orange bowls and 79 and 80 was Ron Simmons. You may not even be coaching today's world because they get rid of those six. And he had to establish Florida State as a winner. And it took him time. He was seven and four, eight and three. And he took those years, but then once 87 hit.
Starting point is 02:11:07 And on, the 79 and 80 team were great teams. They played back to back orange bowls, but he took off in one, but Bobby was the most genuine honest person. And he had things in perspective, was God family involved. And I was so blessed to have been around him and learn how to do things the right way.
Starting point is 02:11:22 He could set with you and be with you for five minutes and you think you knew him for 10 years. Yeah. And the most he never put himself above you. He knew who he was. He never, who he was as a human being. He was God first, family second, ball third. And I said, like, I'll take you're right. I'll say something to kids they coach about. Who's that coach? I mean, we forget so quick in our society about how successful. I got one, I mean, at the time was the winningest coach in college football history. Every 180-some games and national championships and and played for so many and did it in a school that didn't have
Starting point is 02:11:56 her. I mean, Florida State wasn't a football rich school. Never even started playing football like 848-49. It was a girl school till then, believe it or not. And what he did to me, he did more at that school and what he accomplished in any man in the history college football. And it was the best gentleman that ever did it. A winner to me is the best, I mean, the top coach of that I've ever been around. And his family, what Jeff, Terry, Tommy, just to you, all his family and his kids,
Starting point is 02:12:23 they treated me like a brother and a son and I was so blessed to be an early ages with him and you're right people don't Appreciate what Bobby Bowden did and who he was the human being who he was the coach and what he meant and man He was fun to call game when I got the coach with him be around him He could call any play on any down the distance man He would let it fly and yeah, he had to go so I mean just think the fumble Ruski when you're fourth and 10 in a tie game with a minute Now for the minute 50 to go at Clemson on your own 20 and he hit the fumble You know he hit the punt Ruski that won that game and one nasty. I mean things he did He was he was an amazing coach amazing person. Yeah, it's it's a great point to about like how quick
Starting point is 02:12:58 coaches get fired these days because like you do look at it and it's like yeah that 86 season with 7 4 and 1 They probably would have been like oh, it's. Well, and 85 he was 9 and 3 and 84 was 7, 2 and 2 and 83 was 7 and 4. And when the pitch ball 9 and 3 and 82, 81, he was 6 and 5 didn't go to bogey. Right. And then you wouldn't make it and they let him keep going. And then 87, you know, and he established how to win. Somewhere they're teaching somewhere how to never win at that level. Did it, here's a bad thing. He did it, 79, 80, had two great years,
Starting point is 02:13:31 then had five or six years that were just good, but not great. You'd fire the guy today. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? And then let him establish himself. I mean, it's just, but he did more with less than what he did was he's an amazing, man, amazing coach.
Starting point is 02:13:45 I was so blessed to be able to be around him and see how things were supposed to be done right. Yeah. Yeah. I've won last last question here for you. What is the best, who is the best player that you've ever coached? You can't say James. Oh my gosh. We just talked about James. I'm going to put James in his own category, but you've coached a lot of good ones. Oh my god. I mean, you're talking about Derwin James, you're talking about Jaylen Ramsey, I'm about Tim and Jerry are you talking about Daven Cook, you're talking about, I mean, Daven, I mean, Calvin Mint, Rashad Green is a guy in Florida State history that never got the credit. He's the all-time league receiver and SEC
Starting point is 02:14:19 Hitchery yards and touchdowns and catches. It's Rashad Green. I mean, then you go back to my LSU days. I mean, Whitworth and Spears and Clayton and I mean, and just, I mean, just accorded by Rohan David's markers. I mean, man, I can't say that. I mean, I'm gonna take like Lamarcus join her. Yeah. It's Kelvin Smith. Those guys on that, I'm gonna take this. People don't appreciate this. The 2013 team in Florida State, you realize it's the biggest point differential in college football history that teams have played at least 10 games. Before that, they army was had like nine games and one by 52 points. That in 2013 team won by 39.5 points a game. That's crazy. And unless you broke the offensive record that year, be just by one point and total point scored in the season but had one more game. And we had James out at five games at that time. But we averaged 51, 7 or 8 and gave up 12. Lamarcus joiner,
Starting point is 02:15:14 Tevon Smith, Timmy Jernigan, I mean, Devonte Freeman, I mean, I've been able to be around so many unbelievable football players. I mean, Ron Darby, PJ Williams, Jaylen Ramsey, Derwin Jane, I mean, Dalvin, I mean, it's just Carlos Williams. I mean, just, you know, and then A&M guys, I've been around some phenomenal, I mean, had great players at A&M. I mean, maybe I'm way, if people forget, you remember 1700 yards from me. Yeah, yeah. Eric McCoy is a center. I mean, I'm going to our quarterback. People don't give our quarterback. I mean, the credit he did in the 2020 season. I mean, what he was able to
Starting point is 02:15:53 to be able to do, that season was unbelievable and how he played and the season he had and and what he did. So I mean, I've been blessed to have so many. I mean, it's unbelievable. That was a great example of just guys name and do. Yeah, that was great. It was an all-time listed. All the dude put out there. Yeah. Then mentioned T-Babay Bear. I noticed. I didn't coach him. Okay. All right. You put your wood side in there. I mean, you had wet where it spears. I mean, you go, I mean, you know, the corn, it's Cory Webster, Travis Daniel, Randall, I mean, you go through that whole thing. It through that whole name and dudes, I love it. It's a great list. I mean, it was just unbelievable. Yeah, well coach, thank you again. This has been such so much fun. We appreciate your time.
Starting point is 02:16:33 Yeah, any time guys, y'all got a great show, man. Y'all, I love your show. Good. Thank you so much. We love you. We'll definitely have you back on next season, as long as you're not coaching. But maybe if you're coaching too, we'll still have you back on. It don't matter whatever. All right. All right. Thanks so much, Jimbo. You see, Jimbo? See you guys have great days.
Starting point is 02:16:49 And that was something completely different. Okay. We now welcome on a very special guest recurring guest. He is a NFL football player, also a podcaster. He's a eight time pro baller. It is cam Jordan. How you doing, Cam? Thanks for joining us and and and
Starting point is 02:17:07 welcome back. Yeah, I appreciate you having me back on. I mean, I'm doing okay. I mean, I can't say I'm doing phenomenal, but we started off, you know, we ended we ended 2023 on a great way. Yeah. So, so we we're going to either run this. We're doing less shows this week. So we might run it after week 18, but we're taping this before week 18. But I actually want to either run this. We were doing last shows this week. So we might run it after week 18 But we're taping this before week 18 But I actually want to start with that it is right before week 18. How is the body feeling and I actually kind of want to just Know because we obviously watch the sport and we know like oh everyone's dinged up this time of year But we kind of just throw it off to the side like yeah, you got to get out there play. How bad is it though at this point of the year where you're like, my body is just broken?
Starting point is 02:17:48 I think my body is finally about to be healed. Oh, that makes more sense. Like, we had biweek, what is that? Like week 11 week 12, what a while ago. And you know, you get that body back, you're like, yes, let's go it's time to go play. We play Atlanta and the end of Atlanta game, you know, a pile-up happened and I end up on the wrong side of pile-up, end up with a high ankle-spraying torso ligament in my shin-ish ankle area. And the uh, the uh, sinus moses. And I still, like, I had to look it up 17 times because I had no idea what it, what that even meant. And then I was like, you know, they're like, hey, we're gonna rehab this.
Starting point is 02:18:27 You may be down this week. Somebody I was like, no, I don't go down. I was like, no, I'm playing this. Ended up playing and added on and I still like, low ankle to it. So I've been thugging it out like the last five weeks with a high in low ankle spray in on the left leg. You know, I was like, I was like, anything for a team win.
Starting point is 02:18:41 I was like, if I feel like, if you guys feel like I'm in the best position to help this team win, I'm on the if I feel like, if you guys feel like I'm in the best position to help this team win, I'm on the field. And so I've just been relegated to first and second down, stopping the run. You know what that does to a defensive end? Like, identity of, hey, I like to rush the pastor as well. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:19:01 Just get out there and just, I did not know that I would've been my, you never know. Yeah, so I didn't know that would have been my, you know, you never know. Yeah. So I didn't know that would have been the last time I was like able to really bend a corner up until this past weekend. I finally bend a corner. I was like, oh, I can push off again. Yeah. That's crazy that you played your way back into shape by playing a violent sport. We were talking about that earlier this season with Joe Burrow when he had kind
Starting point is 02:19:24 of an ankle lower leg injury and he played his way back in his shape. Were you like getting healthier, healthier throughout games? Like, could you feel getting stronger? Because me, if I have an ankle sprain and I take like two steps, if I like get up to go take a piss, I'm like, I gotta go sit down. I just aggravated my ankle, but you were actually like making improvements. Yeah, I was like, I was like working my way like Monday through Saturday, whatever it takes to be like, all right, well, I'm in a boot until practice. I'm, I'm right up practice. I'm back in a boot.
Starting point is 02:19:54 Hey, whatever this takes. I mean, ice rehab, you know, doing all the electric still, whatever it takes, you know, whatever it is, I'm like, hey, you know, going out, nah, I don't need it. I was like, hey, family events. hey, look, I'm on this ice and rehab, ice rehab, rest, elevation, the combination, right? And then Sunday play, and I wouldn't say get better, probably reset you back a couple days. It's crazy.
Starting point is 02:20:18 Right after the game, back in the boot, Monday through Saturday, you know, redo the whole situation. And then finally this week, I was like, I'm out of the boot by Thursday, what's up? Yeah, so it sounds like you're feeling a little bit better, are we feeling good enough to play next year too, or where are we at with that? That's a no brainer, bro, I think. I mean, I've never had this low of a sack total
Starting point is 02:20:38 in my career since like rookie year. I'm already in my villain arc. I'm headed into my villain arc. I'm headed into my revenge season. I've got, yeah, absolutely. I mean, the black and gold is on the way. I'll ever really play football anyways. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:20:56 So, you know, like I'm playing this and I'm already spurring. I'm like, I'm spurned already. Yeah, spurned. You were a spurn. I like that. Come back player of the year next year. So speaking of your career, you've been playing for a very long time, you're 34.
Starting point is 02:21:13 And don't take disrespect to it because I would assume this happens to every player where the step is maybe a tiny bit slower. But how much now are you getting by on instinct and knowing the game better than you did maybe when you're younger? Because I love seeing players who can still play at a high level of 30s and you're like, no, they're just savvier than everyone out there.
Starting point is 02:21:33 Yeah, no, I mean, I've always loved my ability to rely on like, hey, I went to Cal. You know, like we're actually smarter people. So, but just you add that on with experience. And naturally, you understand how to break down film, what the nature of the game is. And luckily, I came into this league at, it said I was 287, but you look at my Ricky film and Fluffy Cam and a Reebok Jersey was,
Starting point is 02:22:01 you know, three, I was Miami area code. I opened 305, I get it, I get it, you know, so I lost some weight, probably gained extra step or two and I don't see myself slowing down, but even if I am slowing down a step, I've never relied on those first two steps anyways. Yeah. I've always been hand, hand combat active and ready to get, and ready to put working. So honestly, I, I, I, I love the idea that I could be slowing down.
Starting point is 02:22:25 Because I'm slowing down. This just makes everybody else look slower. Yeah. And do you notice though in a game where there'll be, let's say, a handful of plays where you're like, oh, I just knew what was going to happen because I've been doing this for so long. And like, there's nothing they could do to stop me there because I just, I can anticipate better than the guy across from me. In fact, I mean, there's always gonna be plays like that. There's always gonna be a series you like, oh, oh, I see what they did here.
Starting point is 02:22:49 They got this condensed formation, and you've got this offset running back, whatever it is. I'm not gonna, you know, allude to it, but there's a play against Tampa Bay, you line up, you look at the formation, you're like smiling, getting down to the stance, you're like, yeah, I'm wrecking this shit. Oh, that's, I must be the best feeling.
Starting point is 02:23:05 Just now, and then you then you fall off the TFL. So then what does it matter? You know, you like that's great. That's why play players make plays too. Like, would you slow them down? It was in the backfield immediately, trying to tackle. Um, what's supposed to run him that white? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:23:21 He slips through. Pete Warner comes down, schmax him. So it's still a TFL. You know, like, it's a cause TFL, my way. Not the same feeling as a TFL for me. Yeah, what are your thoughts on the hip drop tackle? And the discourse surrounding the hip drop tackle because I'll tell you right now on this show,
Starting point is 02:23:37 I don't think that there is such a thing as a hip drop tackle. I never even heard of the terminology hip drop tackle. We need to find out who this came up with that phrase. I want sharp probably Warren sharp. So I'm just trying to make a name for themself. It's just tackling somebody. It's tackling somebody using your body weight.
Starting point is 02:23:52 It's making a tackle from behind, which is there's only a couple ways to hit somebody for tackling them from behind. I thought it would just been the competition committee. Yeah, because it got to be a panel of guys that never played football and knows all the analytics. That's always like like there always implement Two or three rules that like strap a defensive in or strap a defensive player. It's like oh, you can't you know
Starting point is 02:24:13 No tugging on the whatever no, you know They any any slapping any part of the helmet is is now a part of a face mask in situation. You like broke Who made some of these rules? You know like you can't hit a quarterback low. You can't hit him too high. You know, you can't hit a, why would he were who's defenseless, although he's already caught a ball. And he just has a whip his head around to lock eye confirmation. Some point, I just figure at some point in the next year or two,
Starting point is 02:24:37 you're going to, I'm going to have to ask permission to hit a hit offensive player. Yeah. Like, hey, I'm running full speed. Do you mind if I, yeah, you can't land on the quarterback. Like, do we see that? Man, of course. Yeah, it's crazy. Um, there was, in fact, there was a play,
Starting point is 02:24:51 Tampa Bay game, Tyre Matthews hits Baker Mayfield and they called it a late hit. He's within two steps, ball is thrown. Like, that's a regular hit in any era except for today's era. Yeah, that's a clean hit. In fact, you know, if you would have took this to the 2000s when I was going out watching guys like the freak and Julius Peppers, young Julius Peppers,
Starting point is 02:25:11 you'd be like, oh, that was something you'd probably chew them out for, why don't you hit them harder? And now it's like, hey, did you put a pillow down and read them bedtime stories before you laid him down ever so softly on a bed of crumpled leaves or something? You know, it's true softly on a bed of crumpled leaves or something, you know, like it's true. It's just point give a quarter back a flag. Yeah, I like that.
Starting point is 02:25:29 My favorite is when a player tackles a quarterback and on the way down, they like take their arms off him to show like, Hey, I'm trying not to land with my entire body weight on them and they still get a flag for it. No doubt. Yeah. It's, you know, it's a league that's always loved their offense. No, no. Yeah. Right. Like it's, you know, it's, it's a, it's a league that's always loved their offense. We even knew that. It's all, it's all about points. Mm-hmm. That's true. I'm sure, I'm sure fantasy probably, fantasy football probably, like, probably has a say in this in my mind. I don't, I don't know anymore.
Starting point is 02:25:57 Yeah. I just played the game. It's so best my abilities. Let it lay where it lays. You get a store player that gets hurt and then they look at that tackle and they say, we need to take that tackle out of the game because we can't have a Straski and that's a hip drop tackle. I'm like has has anybody ever from Peewee ball to High School ball to college to the pros ever refer to it as oh, yeah, got a hip drop tackle that guy. Yeah, yeah It's true. I can tell though you do miss you still miss sacking that Ryan. He must have been so fun to hit Man, oh, he was he was good to me over the years. I miss him dearly.
Starting point is 02:26:31 So, it's just one of those people that always have a special place. Like 30 years from now, they're like, hey, Cam, do you remember? Yeah, that guy Matt Ryan, that great, great kind man. Good family man. Hit him a lot back in the day. Like, I can't wait for those things. You know, the, when it's all said and done and my grandkids are looking at me, like, dad, he used to play, grandpa, he used to play football. Yeah, there was this guy. He knew me really well. Yeah, right. We used to meet a couple of times here.
Starting point is 02:27:01 So speaking of which, what quarterback would you say has the best pocket awareness that you've played again? So maybe not like, you know, elusiveness where they can rip off a 50 yard run, but just for some reason, they feel like they always have eyes in the back of their head and they're able to anticipate everything coming their way. Man, I think Lamar's up there. And I played him two years ago. Last season, maybe last season. Lamar's up there. I think, baked the way he played this last game,
Starting point is 02:27:34 we played him. He was quite aware that we were surrounding him. I mean, he was trying to get out of there. I think we could have had probably four sacks on him. I think we left with two. I fell off one. I think they called a face probably four sacks on them. I think we left it to I fell off one. I think They called a face mask and Brian Bazeee I don't know he was he was sort of you know that aware and and or like sneaky elusive. Yeah
Starting point is 02:27:56 So so Lamar I have a question about this because this is something we talked about on the show Lamar I don't know if you know this is 19 and one versus the NFC in his career. Now, is it crazy to say that it's just he's such a freak and so different that teams that don't get to see him? It's like, it's that much more difficult to defend him because you just don't know that speed and elusiveness. You just, you can't replicate it. But I mean, he's probably the fastest quarterback in the league,
Starting point is 02:28:24 you know, and when you think about it, yeah, you can't replicate it. I mean, he's probably the fastest quarterback in the lead, you know, um, and when you think about it, yeah, you can't, you can't replicate that. But at the same time, he's just a playmaker. There's a reason why he's been a, been a former MVP, probably will be MVP of this league this year. I mean, he's a top tier talent. Yeah. Yeah. A lot of, a lot of stories this week about tackles reporting as eligible and the referees making announcements after hearing who's coming in to be eligible to catch a pass. I'm actually curious to know from the defense aside the ball. Do you guys actually listen to what the ref say over the loudspeaker, does that impact and directly affect what
Starting point is 02:29:00 you're doing as defense to cover them? Um first, I'm just gonna speak from a defensive line perspective because it depends on coverage at times. But so coverage will probably be a yes. Defensive line, I mean, I'm a label of pig a pig and keep on going, you know, you'd be like, oh, and you've got an opposite line and they're instead of tied in, all right. So now instead of, you know, trying to put this man
Starting point is 02:29:20 on his back, now I get to try and choke him out. It is, but That's great. We were talking about it. PFT just mentioned it, the people online, you know, the Twitter experts who break down film. How often do you scroll Twitter and you're like, these guys don't know what they're talking about because like there's so many moving parts in an NFL game
Starting point is 02:29:41 and what you guys are doing is a defense and what everyone's responsibility is. Do you get a chuckle when you see something and you're like, yeah, that definitely wasn't like the linebacker wasn't supposed to be doing that. So they did not make a mistake or the defense of end was not supposed to be doing that. That's not a mistake. You're just watching film and guessing. Hey, in this day and age, everybody's a critic.
Starting point is 02:30:00 You know, everybody's a reporter. I feel like half the nation has a podcast. That's true. You know, I got friends back in the crib to have a podcast like bro, when you go to and in the mind. Off season. Yeah, I don't call it off season. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:30:17 But do you see it? And you're, because I would love to have that super power of like, I feel like if I were a player, I would just, I just scroll Twitter every day and just dunk on those guys and be like yeah you see it every now and then like Mitchell Schwartz did it I think last year where someone was breaking down film and Mitchell Schwartz was like that's not what the offensive line was supposed to do so you're not you're just making shit up
Starting point is 02:30:36 right yeah yeah yeah I've never I don't think I've ever fired back at anybody like that but I will I mean I will scroll Twitter and sometimes I will I will drop some heat back at him you know I try I try ever fired back at anybody like that. But I will, I mean, I will scroll Twitter and sometimes I will drop some heat back at them. I try and go after people sometimes with the best of my, what would Kevin Durant's burner accounts say? You know, sometimes you gotta get after somebody. Yeah, Twitter.com, I live for this. You should actually go, like, listen to people's podcasts
Starting point is 02:31:02 and critique their ad reads. Like you screwed up dropping the promo lines. It's not easy. Yeah. It's not easy. Yeah. Yeah. I do what you do.
Starting point is 02:31:12 You don't do what I do. Exactly. Yeah. Um, you play with maybe our favorite player in the NFL, James Winston. Yep. We've been fans of his for a long time. Just seems like a unique individual, just solid vibes.
Starting point is 02:31:23 Good guy. Um, what is, what was your experience like meeting James, and what does he bring to that locker room that makes people like him so much? Man, I've known, I've known James probably since he got to the league because of course he was a, he was a number one overall pick for Tampa some years back, met him in the back field quite a lot,
Starting point is 02:31:40 but then in the off season, you know, had a couple of run-ins with them, and he was a great guy from Jump. You could always make fun of him when you don't really know him, and you're like, bro, the stuff that he's doing on the sidelines, the antics is hilarious over Tampa Bay. You're like, man, and then he comes in on the Saints. I'm like, here we go.
Starting point is 02:32:00 Uh-huh. And then, but you realize, once you get to know James, like he's like the warrior that you want in the locker room. Like if he's your boy, you guys go into a bar and there's 30 guys that are ready to fight. You wanna boy like, James, James is all in. Like he'd be like, it's time to go, but it's go time.
Starting point is 02:32:22 And he's like, you know, like, if you, if you're in the bar, you look at your boy, James' guy that's already got war paint on. Like, you know what I'm saying? He's like, oh, didn't know it was time. You know, and you're like, all right, well, I guess we're here. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:32:34 So when you think about what he does on the football field, what he does in locker room, what he brings to the locker room and the game, the energy that he brings, but he's such a positive force. Like, you can't help but love and respect it. Like, sometimes you hear James, you're like, where was that even coming from?
Starting point is 02:32:49 Like, what is that pertain to? And you like, bro, you look at his face and he's dead set. Like, today is the good day. He's like, yes it is. Yes, yes, the hell it is. Why the hell not? Why can't it be a good day? You know, like, he's such a positive force, bro.
Starting point is 02:33:05 It's sort of hard not to, like, once you know him, once you understand where he's come from, it's hard not to root for him at every turn. Did you guys, did you guys give him any shit for eating the W? Were you like, that was a little weird dude. Yeah, all right, good, yeah. But I feel like, come on, it gets the shit.
Starting point is 02:33:20 You look at it, I think his teammates at the time were giving him, like, he was in the dub and everybody in the circle was like, what? Yeah. Yeah. But that's that's incredible that like he's the type of guy that he can maybe have a couple of those moments, but you guys still ride for him, which it's pretty cool to watch. Absolutely. As well like I said, there's nobody more invested than the James like you can see some guys like, yeah, I played this like he loves this game from the top of the morning to the end of the night and probably still probably still at the facility right now if he's if he's yeah probably watching film a sad he's one of the last people leave the building
Starting point is 02:33:56 Jamie should have a podcast if he doesn't already Jamie should have a podcast we're just like somebody who's having a bad day could be anybody, any line of work. Someone's having a bad day comes in and James just gasses you up. Bro, now that, absolutely. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 02:34:15 There's no way in better. I mean, back with me and Mark had our podcast, you know, he popped on and he was like, bro, you leave feeling better. Yeah. Like, you just feel like, like, I didn't think about this in a way. You know, he he popped on and it was like bro you you leave feeling better. Yeah You just like like I didn't think about this is in a way. I didn't feel I feel more inspired and motivated Yeah, James is kind of a drug you hang out with James and after he done your whole perspective changes You leave better. Yeah, he talked to James. He like If I was having a okay day, it is not like I'm gonna make it a good day. Yeah
Starting point is 02:34:45 But if I was having a okay day, it is, like I'm gonna make it a good day. Yeah. Jable made it a good day, so I'm gonna make it a good day. Yeah, fuck Iawaska. Aaron Roberts got it wrong. You just gotta hang out with James for a little bit. You gotta hang out with James. James, he's gonna get you right. Mincely, you're just gonna be up there.
Starting point is 02:34:57 Like, I'm on a different level. God, I want to take a big hit at James. Yeah, I have one bone to pick with you, Cam. You had this quote facing breeze and practice. You said, helps the defense. It's not like we're going against Blake Portals. It's not like Drew is giving picks away. We're very good friends of Blake Portals.
Starting point is 02:35:16 Blake Portals wants you to AFC Championship game if you don't remember. Would you like to take that back? He is the boat. No, no, no. You want to AFC Championship game in the NFL? And he should have beaten the Patriots. Oh, I thought you meant like AFC Championship game the boat. No, no, you want to see championship game in the NFL? And he should have beaten the Patriots. Like ACC championship game. No, no, no, they should have beaten the Patriots, but the refs took away a touchdown. Miles Jack was not
Starting point is 02:35:34 down. Blake Bordel should have been in the Super Bowl. Yeah. Oh, so I'm not gonna walk that one back. What? He's the boat. He was also your teammate. He was. You, yeah. He was. He's the best of all time. Oh, was I only boring with the ball time? No, no, no, no. The blakest of all time.
Starting point is 02:35:55 It's the ball time. Wait, he was your teammate. Do you not remember? Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. It's great to be back up of all time. Okay, that's the best thing. This feels me and this feels person.
Starting point is 02:36:08 Yeah. No, not at all. I just, like, I'm not gonna walk it back. My main event's down, 10 towels about it. Hey, it's, it's best. True breeze was good. Yeah, true breeze was pretty good at football. Did you, speaking of other teammates,
Starting point is 02:36:20 do you remember your time with Will Compton? Yeah. Was he on the team for, how long was he on the team for? All right. I didn't really hear. I like to say like a few months. Like he was. He was. I'm picking on like halfway through the season. And I think he made like another half of the other season. Like, yeah. Is that like a password to season together? Yes. How you get 10 seasons. You just throw them kind of together.
Starting point is 02:36:40 And you're like, boom, 10 seasons. He's like a step line back. I know nine seasons have been, and then he was avidly searching for Tensey. Well, he had a trial with the Falcons. We saw the tape. Yeah, I mean, yeah, that was the Twitter scroll. I saw that and I was like, listen here, boys. Your boy's not down and out.
Starting point is 02:36:56 Yeah, and I was like, oh, Tensey. Here we go, but I don't think that if you're Tensey, your Tensey never got activated. No, he had some takes about the Rechard Mendenhall tweet from a couple weeks ago, which I thought was a very funny concept. We ran the simulation here on Madden and I think the black team won, what was it like 65 to 59? So it was close to my spread.
Starting point is 02:37:19 We covered the spread. We covered the spread. Tyree Kill was an issue for us. I think that one happening actually. Yeah, what would your spread be if you were to just lay the I mean the 60 sounded about right and I mean 35 yeah, you got 35. We got a lot of tight ends Yeah, but like zero defense on your side, you know what defense of line if it's a line is really good
Starting point is 02:37:44 I'm thinking about people who have to cover. Yeah, that's tough. Yeah. So like, it's like, nobody's, it's going to be just a myriad of touchdowns through the air. This is the air assault is going to be rare. We're just hoping that you got you got trache, you got tray Henderson and TJ what? Um, opposite sides rushing and been in the corner at seven. So now all you have to do is step up.
Starting point is 02:38:06 Yeah, we're gonna have to put the bosses. Yeah, but the bosses on the inside and they're gonna be playing their ass off in that game. So you got to hope that they just, uh, they hope to take clogged the middle of the field. He said you say Nick Bolster playing it was playing like he's, he's supreme all pro. It's super, it's super for them. Yeah, super for them. Yeah. It's just an interesting thought experiment. I'm glad that a lot of people could take it not so seriously and turn it into, it shouldn't
Starting point is 02:38:32 have been made to be like a big debate. It should be just like a healthy, fun thing to talk about where everyone can laugh at themselves a little bit. Well, and I assume that that conversation happens all the time in the locker room Like something Nobody ever thought we like hmm, let's pick. Okay, maybe my deep breath for so all black offense I'm going off of this doesn't sound like good ball
Starting point is 02:38:57 I'm going off of what will Compton told us so he just was having that conversation with himself I think a lot of times will like he either had that in the back of his mind or he would be seen always as like the gritty, scrappy, white, undersized linebacker. And so he thought about it in that term. Yeah. But yeah, the full on debate probably didn't happen as much. Yeah. You should have it.
Starting point is 02:39:17 Just throw it on. What would Trey Hendrickson's into? I mean, I think it's happened because of that. Yeah. It has. Yeah. It's not going to last long because, you know, most guys are going to laugh, you know. Yeah. You brought up Terry Hendrickson. Um, he had a very interesting style and he still does no gloves. Tintware gloves as a defense lineman. How crazy is that?
Starting point is 02:39:36 Savage. Hey, I mean, practicing with them back in the day, we just look at them like him and my guy Marcus Davenport, like like you be missing chunks out of their fingers. And I was like, this, I don't know what you're proving here, but you've proven it. You know, like if you're like, hey, I want mangled hands. This is the way to go about it. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's crazy watch that happen.
Starting point is 02:39:58 This is a dumb question. Just how cool is it to have a guy on your team name, Rashid Shaheed? Rashid Shaheed, the knee for speed. Yeah, see? So you guys like, every time I say his name, I have a little smile on my face. I'm like, yeah, that rules. And you have a little Jordan Humphrey, right?
Starting point is 02:40:16 Yeah. No, little Jordan is over at Denver now. Oh, yeah, that's right. He's said Denver, man. He wasn't the same. He'd be bothered. I like, I like,. He's dead for me. He's in the States. He's he's he's he's been balled in that's like I like I like LJ Yeah, those are some some like hallfamem names between the two of those guys. Yeah
Starting point is 02:40:30 Do you guys get pumped up on the sidelines when Tassam gets in the game and you know He's just gonna run into like a linebacker's face. Do you guys get pumped up when you take some? Yeah, the whole world gets pumped up when Tassam gets into the game because you know it's going to happen and they can't stop it Yeah, it's fine. We just expected it move the chains wait. He hasn't even you haven't hacked the ball yet More of the chains continue a human first down. It's crazy because like he on paper you look at his skills Say you look at his size. I imagine that there's probably a few dozen people in the NFL that are his size his weight and run about The same speed. But for whatever reason, Tase and Hill will always get a first down, and he'll always
Starting point is 02:41:08 run through a linebacker. What is it that makes him different from all the other players that are, I guess, physically built the same way? I have no idea how to answer that. We got this guy when Tase and I first interlead from Green Bay, Sean Payton walks over, I'm in stretch lines, mine in my business, Sean Payton walks over, Tase and Hill, Fassas running back, Fassas quarterback, last 40 years,
Starting point is 02:41:33 Fassas and then this guy, this guy, this guy, this guy, and I'm like, I, Sean, I was like, I doubt he's faster than Arjun III, faster. You know, I was like, no, Michael Vick, you outta here, you outta here, you're like, you know, going through, I was like, no, Michael Vick, you had a yacht, and he was like, you know, going through, he's like, no, this guy, this, yeah. And then, you know, when he gets downhill, I said, look at Payton Hills go.
Starting point is 02:41:52 Yeah. Yeah, that's true. Well, have you thought that you, are you a Hall of Famer? I think you're pretty close. I think you're getting there. I'd say seven and a half sacks from now for the world to say I'm a Hall of Famer. Like once I get that 125 threshold,
Starting point is 02:42:07 so you know, sometime, could be this game, so I'd go for seven and a half piece. That'd be amazing. Yeah. But next year, somewhere in there, it's gonna be like, all right, cemented 125, 125's get into Hall of Fame. Last couple of years, you say I was a Hall of Famer
Starting point is 02:42:23 like five years ago. Yeah, the guys numbers and, you know, it looks, it looks good. Yeah. We might have to start the Cam Jordan Hall of Famer, uh, campaign on this podcast because it is true. Like if you play a couple more years and you get in that one, 25, 130, now you're, now you're in the top 20s and everyone in the top 20s is in the Hall of Fame. Mm hmm. Look at that. You're worth not mind. Look, I'm gonna focus on what I can control. We've got a play at Atlanta and we have to take care of business. I talk about accolades and such after the season.
Starting point is 02:42:52 I'm all I care about is being the best teammate and best player I can be. Can you rank the teams in the NFC South that you hate the most? No, I only hate one team. I don't have to rank them. Is it Falcons? Yeah, that's it. Because I feel like the Saints are always getting to fights against the Bucks too.
Starting point is 02:43:08 We over the course of my 13 year career, there's been turns where you're like, oh man, they're annoying. They're annoying. You know, like, oh man, Cam Newton in his prime, like damn, he's annoying. You know, like, he's just aggravating, but you didn't hate him.
Starting point is 02:43:24 You know, like, I, nothing but the highest respect for Cam Newton. I'm like, bro, he's just aggravating, but you didn't hate him. You know, like, I, I, nothing but the highest respect for Camdou. I'm like, bro, he's such a good player. You can't help but respect him. You know, you, oh, man, Josh Riemann is doing really good. Are now, you know, Macown is doing really good. And if Rick Patrick is doing good or, uh, you know, James is doing really good. You know, the 75 quarterbacks that they've had over the last 13 years at over 10 days, you're like, really doing, all right. You know, so you likebacks that they've had over the last 13 years at over Tampa Bay, you're like really doing all right.
Starting point is 02:43:46 So you're like, oh man, this office alignment is aggravating, but you wouldn't be like, those damn fucking ears. You know, but you say the word fail cons and it just makes sense. You know, foul can't. Like, it's real. It's real. You don't even understand, but like my nose tackle,
Starting point is 02:44:02 Colin Sanders came in and was like, Hey, man, he's like, bro, I don't get the height. But between you guys in Atlanta, but we played them and he was like, nah, hate them. I mean, no, you get it. I get it. Freaking hate these guys. It's the best part of sports.
Starting point is 02:44:16 Ravari's in like true, true hatred. True, like true hatred. Like I see, I see black and red. And I see, you know, I'm like, that's just a trash color. Like what is, what are we doing here? Is this any given Sunday? Like, what is this movie? Like, there's just like some kiddie stuff.
Starting point is 02:44:31 Yeah. Is it the team or is it the fans, too? Not so much the fans, it's the team. Yeah. The fans, there's more annoying fans in this world, you know? Who? It's probably like, rowed up by our city as well, because we're just better.
Starting point is 02:44:46 Yeah. Who's the most annoying fan base? You know who the most annoying fan base is. Who? Cowboys. Cowboys. Oh, Eagles. Cowboys when they're successful, yes.
Starting point is 02:44:56 Okay. But Philly any time of the year. Okay. Yeah. You're Philly fans any time of the year, bro. Like, I don't know why they're just, make like they're like they're like vegans They're like you know you don't ask if they're vegan or not they tell you You're like you know what about our fillies I didn't even I was talking about how if it was cold outside or not
Starting point is 02:45:19 Anything about filly football. Yeah, it's a fact like how you doing we got fucking far-series on it Philly football. Yeah, it was a fact like how you doing we got fucking far Syrian Yeah Jesus Christ. All right, Kim. Well, I know you got to run in a minute. You guys won, but did you know that Mitch Trubisky actually won the MVP of that game? Did you, did that ever get back to the locker room? He won the MVP. Nickelodeon, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no Blimp with the slime on it. Starting point is 02:47:21 Firefresse, you had to come back to work? Had to come back to work. I had to come back to work. I committed to drive January. Hank in private texts, even in private texts, will clarify that he's not gonna work this time. Private text. We were texting back and forth about just how awesome the Jersey Jerry thing was and like how great it was
Starting point is 02:47:42 for the office and like we're just hit the ground running new year and He said yeah, now that the holidays are over and everything's set up and everyone's settled We can cook full steam ahead parentheses till summer parentheses parentheses parentheses and then back again in the fall. Yeah, private tax Yep, he's keeping it in my head. I like it. I like that. He's committed to it You're committed to being partially committed. We have breaking moves breaking move from Adam Shafter More time pro bowl running back Dalvin cook will sign for the playoffs with the Baltimore Ravens PFT They called it called it not to brag, but I called it. Yeah, I actually had it first. Yeah. That's actually a good signing
Starting point is 02:48:22 Please credit PFT just have a guy there just in case. So, but you also had it wrong because he did actually prove us wrong and signed with the contender. But it's just weird how they keep talking about like, like, and it's being true. That's the most, that is the correct place for him. He signed with the number one contender.
Starting point is 02:48:37 Yes, in case they continue to have catastrophic injuries. Yes, okay. Hank. But yeah, I'm excited to go full seam ahead to the season. Yeah, pretty'm excited to go full seam heads. Tissues and till summer. Yeah, pretty much dry January. Till summer. I did commit to dry January. Or I was, you know, 30, 30 days until till stand up. I'm trying to be dry until stand up. Wait, wind stand up. February 6th. Okay. So your dry January doesn't actually start until Monday.
Starting point is 02:49:02 Monday. But I committed to dry January. I tried to do drive January and then on Tuesday, January, second, PFT 9, some people went out to dinner, some complimentary shots were brought over to the table. And I couldn't say no. And I had to do the whole thing. Also the day before Hank had drank beer. Two beers, that was for work though. And two shots.
Starting point is 02:49:23 So I was chronicling Hank's adventures into pretty much dry January. He's like, make sure to put that the shots we're taking are only because of manners because everyone else at the table, except for Mensei, who declined to take the shot. And Stu, who also declined. So you could have easily just declined.
Starting point is 02:49:40 Two people at the table. No, but it was because of manners. Oh. You could have to you saw Minci and Stu probably the one and two in terms of role models in America right now say no and you Manors, okay manners Thanks got great manners great man. I do have great manners, but I am for the next till till stand up dry Okay, no drinks at all no drinks at all
Starting point is 02:50:05 I don't like that look. I'm talking to God, I can't go out, we've talked about it. I wanna do the laugh that you did to Big Cat the other day when he talked about that's what I'm silently laughing at. Well, yeah. What are you doing this weekend? Nothing, not going out. You want a party?
Starting point is 02:50:21 No. What if I party? I'm not going. Why? I don't party. So what if I party I'm not going why I don't party so what if I party you won't come admitted hang turn to go to the six inside bar no absolutely not have you gone yet no I need to go I know it's awesome I love six inside okay pft yeah mine is I just downloaded the AI celebrity voice impersonator so that's what I'm gonna be that might be our fire fest. That's it. I like it too. Actually, I like it. It's so good. It's good. It does sound a lot like it might probably have
Starting point is 02:50:51 some weird China spyware on you. Oh, no, I already. I do have TikTok. Yeah. But yeah, I'm just looking through the list of people that I can impersonate. There's Miley Cyrus one on there that might be more for off-air use. There's a lot. There's a lot. There's a lot. To yourself, PFT. I will not be saying that I did actually have to delete one that I made with my leysirus earlier, but that's unrelated.
Starting point is 02:51:15 But yeah, so that's my weekend, probably my next week, it's just fucking around with a celebrity voice impersonator. So yeah, it'll be productive. I like that. All right, my fire fest. I'm now on the the other side because obviously we all were kids at one point and being out of school was awesome. I'm on the other side. My kids have to go to go back to school. It's fucking crazy. They've just my son has not been in school since December 22nd. He's not going back Chicago Public Schools. They don't go back to Monday.
Starting point is 02:51:43 Every day he wakes up and he says, what day is it? Yeah. Does it do I go to school today? I was like, no. It's just, how can they do this? I don't know. And they're getting back to school. And they're taking away snow days too.
Starting point is 02:51:53 Get them back to school. They're making them do like, It's so confused. Every day, he's just like, why am I not going to school? It's like, it's just, you're not yet. He's like, oh, then do I do, today, he's like, why am I not going to school? It's like, because you don't have school days. He's like, so do I get donuts do, today he's like, I'm, why am I not going to school? I was like, because you don't have school days.
Starting point is 02:52:06 He's like, so do I get donuts? I was like, no, it's not Saturday. You might just think that he doesn't have school anymore. It's just, it's just mass confusion. And kids need to be back in school. You gotta get them in school. They gotta be in school. It's funny though to see the opposite.
Starting point is 02:52:19 Like, I don't, I'm sure all of our parents probably agreed. Like, kids gotta be in school. You can't have, you can't have math school. It's the worst. They gotta be back in school. They just lose their mind every single day. Get them in school.
Starting point is 02:52:34 That's my, I'll run on that platform. School every day, no matter what. What, yeah, hang. Yeah, but wait till you have a kid, Hank, and you'll be like, schools the best. Ah, Jake. Yeah, so I was flying during the first half of the Rose Bowl and the silhouette on the plane was broken.
Starting point is 02:52:49 Mm. Damn, actually that, I mean, it wasn't that good of a first half. Yeah, but just like scrambling. That's such bullshit. They should give you a refund. Let's see, you're lying, I'll tweet you. No, I'll tweet you.
Starting point is 02:53:02 There's just no way. I waste so much money. I waste so much money on like Wi-Fi that I purchased that doesn't work Yeah, well I have the time on a plane you'll download the Wi-Fi thing or you'll pay for it And then you'll just try to refresh the internet over and over again for about 40 minutes and then you land and that's what you're A full so it was a lot of scrolling Twitter I bought the Wi-Fi and it was able to stream it on YouTube TV for a little bit But it still wasn't that reliable
Starting point is 02:53:24 That actually I that's a real fire first, but it still wasn't that reliable. Yeah. That actually, that's a real fire fist. But it was the first half only, so I didn't miss much like he said. Yeah, but that sucks. That's brutal. Okay. Max, you got a fire fist? I've had a great week.
Starting point is 02:53:38 Oh, really? Yeah, it's delightful. Starting on the week starts on Sunday? Yep. Really nice. All right. I got a roll over here. Check out our new carpet. Numbers 40. 1871. 8. 3. 99 99 Pug, 20. And Shane usually guesses 10? 10 for Shane. And now he's got a guess.
Starting point is 02:54:10 He's got to be able to guess it. 58. 58. We'll do it for a winner soon. I don't know. No. We learned anything from Jersey Jerry's. we had two out of the gate. Takes a while. Things take time. Two asterisks. Well, Max cried. Yeah, three. You're right.
Starting point is 02:54:33 But I'm not a fucking graduate. We tried saying you're in. No, I took it away because Max cried like a bitch. Yeah, I don't want to do that speech again. Yeah, we don't want to make make America not max again There's there's only there's only two winners in this make America not max our two winners here Crybaby loser Who's talking about the fucking turf in the suit? Two winners you cried about the suit. New days of football. New You cry. You cried about the Love you guys I don't know what I'm to say I say it anyway
Starting point is 02:55:05 Today is another day to find a way I'll become a boy or another boy or another boy Come on me, make me a girl Make me up I'll be gone Good to want you Be less to say I won't send it It's about me Stubbing a little bit
Starting point is 02:55:40 Learning, learning, learning, the life is happy Say it to me At least we'll better do the same But so we can see the sun Take on me Take me on I'll keep on Good and good and good I'll keep going, could I do a pretty thing?
Starting point is 02:56:09 Things that we say, and using a lot of heart, just play my love reasonably You're all the things I've got to remember, you shine on it Welcome to the movie anyway. Take on me. Take on me. Take on me. Take on me. Take on me. Yeah!
