Starting point is 00:03:10 Locktober, October. October. And we start in London with Max and the Philadelphia Eagles. We head across the pond where a beat-up Eagles roster had Jalen saying, I'm really hurts. Do you think you could get me some help? And the only response he got was, You sound like you're in London.
Starting point is 00:03:30 It was all Jags in the first quarter as Parker George Washington was mossing the Delaware County in route to an early lead. But then the Eagles started feasting on both sides of the ball with a healthy portion of fish and wicks with a side of Jalen tartar sauce to get the Eagles back in the game. Then to top it off, Darius,
Starting point is 00:03:49 Snooppa, smoke, the Jags defense to give the birds the lead going into half. In the second half, Trevor Jennifer Lawrence was catching fire with Liam Cohn's silver-shining playbook and was able to give the Jags the lead late in the fourth quarter. But after Britain Covey's bloat a good punt return, Jake not so smelly it, hit the game-winning field goal with eight seconds left. Just kidding. Big stupid kick, Siriani decided to keep the ball in play, allowing the Jags to get into
Starting point is 00:04:21 field all range and win the fucking game. Eight seconds left, no timeouts. Eight seconds left, no timeouts. Eight seconds left, no timeouts. Eagles lose. Fuck me. Thanks, Max, to Green Bay, where the Packers look to raise the floor of their season and get off the mat against the Bears
Starting point is 00:04:39 after a playoff loss last year. And get off the mat, they did, as they went bombs over Baghdad, the actual war, not the outcast song, on the Bears secondary. As the Packer faithful said, they like it, they Jordan love it, they want some more of it, Speaking of war, Tyson, Bejan, Orange, burnt my eyes out as he struggled to move the ball down the field all Sunday long.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Beating the Bears today was elementary, my dear Christian Watson, as the wide receiver scored twice, and the Bears became a pelt on his wall. Packers 31, Bears 7. We go to Miami as Malik Willis Tower season is up in the air with about 100 stories of why it looks like he is so high. But today, it was a throwback as he put the Bengals in the searing sun. Killer Mike Kassicki tried to run the Jules Edelman routes for touchdowns. And everyone was watching and getting secondhand embarrassment when they saw Thrift Chop Robinson pop some flags. Trying to keep Cincinnati Joe in the pocket. I'm running.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Oops, it might be fumbling. This is fucking awesome. But the Bengals have former giant Tanner Miracle on the Hudson. who isn't looking for Newark anymore after flying out of NYC a while back. And now he's looking forward to colliding with the Ravens next week, fresh off a nice smooth touchdown. Joe Baronehouse has taken the franchise run by Dalton and elevated it as the expectations are no longer to get bouncer in the first round.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Bengals, 31, Dolphins, 24. We now head to Foxborough where Hank was there for the Patriots and Riders. In Foxborough, Damario Pop Smoke, Douglas said, Raiders, welcome to the party. Clare. A hit Trigmey up, then go ride in the Rari. After catching a 35-yard dot for a touchdown. Rocket Power Bowers caught a party wave.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Touchdown from Kirk Wuggedy-Wuggedy-Wuggy-Wugty-Cuzzins. To tie the score at 7. Ramandei George Stevenson rocketed into the end zone, followed up by Hunter Henry Lockwood, scoring a touchdown of his own, and dapping up the entire team on the sideline. afterwards. In the third quarter, Kyle Robin Williams
Starting point is 00:06:53 told the Raiders defense, it's not your fault, it's not your fault as he scampered by them on the way to the end zone. And Drake, Frey said, Where did I go wrong? I scored again. Suck on that Glenn tape, watch you stupid
Starting point is 00:07:11 man. Let's cut over to the commander's game. Oh no, Jaden. The clock is still running Patriot's win 45-17 Thanks Hank We go to the Meadowlands
Starting point is 00:07:26 A soggy Meadowlands with memes In Soggy MetLife The Jets started off quick As Garrett Clark Wilson was running towards the end zone Like a woman touched his driver To give the Jets a 7-0 lead David Wallace Bailey Reinvented himself
Starting point is 00:07:38 Sacking Deshawn Watson three times And telling him to suck it Take out your suck it while you suck it Disham Watson was shipping up to Denzel Boston To give the Browns a lead Late in the Fourth But Corey Feldman Borquez had the fat kid from stand by me
Starting point is 00:07:51 snapping him the ball and sailed it over his head to set the Jets up in field goal range. Jets headed up to Braylen Allentown for the go-ahead touchdown late. The Jets D smelled blood and if it bleeds, we can kill it. As they defeated the predator and told the Browns to go get to the chopper.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Back to Cleveland. Jet 17, Browns 12. Thanks, memes. In Pittsburgh, where I feel bad for whoever drank the Kool-Aid on the Indianapolis Colts and Daniel Jim Jones. have to know by now. He's not playing like a Guyana, $80 million contract. Kicker Princess Diana Spencer Schrader had Tunnel Vision going five for five,
Starting point is 00:08:29 and Tyler Tony Warren was near perfect. But there was no funny business today for the Steelers and Aaron Roger Klotz, Doug Deep throwing to Patty Maynay's Friermuth, who easily beats defenders for two scores. The real superstar of the day, though, was Ray Jalen Warren, who must to watch the tape because there wasn't a hole he was missing. He was easily averaging about six and a half soft and finished at the end of the day with 188 total yards and two scores. Steelers 34, Colts 22, down to New Orleans with Zach in New Orleans. Kendrae Miller High Life reminds everyone why he's considered the champagne of running backs
Starting point is 00:09:10 with a keg stand-sized rush into the end zone, pouring on some points early for the Saints. Shortly after, Kyler Chad, Michael Murray, lets the Saints defense. snow. He don't want to be anything other than what he's been trying to be lately. All I ever do is throw passes to receivers of mine. And it's caught by Justin Long Jefferson, who dodge ducks and dives through defenders like they were a bunch of wrenches for a touchdown. Ingar. Out of nowhere, Miles Teller Price floats his F.A.18 Superhorned six yards before pressing
Starting point is 00:09:39 the big red eject button. And the ball is out. Yonis Sankis babbles the recovery. El Estacoriando. Al Estacordiando. Alacasa and Nortes Ponto Finally, Aaron's Renaissance Jones makes a deal with some interest-free
Starting point is 00:09:52 football for 90 days. Taking advantage of the click-guessed score a touchdown to check-out button, limited lifetime warranty, but big scoring potential, fall savings are here and so is a Vikings victory. Minnesota 23, Saints 13. Thanks, Zach, to Los Angeles where if you asked me before,
Starting point is 00:10:09 would the Chargers win this game, I'd say fat chance, because Justin Herbertolo Colon has not met expectations throwing absolute meatballs the other team week after week. One bright spot for the Chargers was Kamani Fidal Sassoon,
Starting point is 00:10:24 who looked fabulous in hair cutting his way through the Broncos' defense for a score. But when the game gets close, the big stupid picks guy shows up, and Justin Herbert and Ernie played like a Muppet, fumbling the ball and throwing a pick,
Starting point is 00:10:39 leaving it wide open for Will. He is not a klutz to kick Denver to victory. Are the Broncos back? Or do they just play the Charter? Chargers. Broncos 23, Chargers 17. Sitting on the corner, James Winston and Hoboken, such a nine sight to see. It's JJ, my lord, holding a clipboard, and nine has turned into 18. Come on, Jaden, we're all waiting on your outcome for your strange, calculating.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Giants beat the commanders. 27, 27. And that was the fastest two minutes for week five in the NFL, brought to you by our friends at Chevy. Football season is here, and whether you're grinding through the week or gearing up for kickoff, there's one ride that's always game-ready.
Starting point is 00:11:38 It's the Chevy Silverado. There's a reason Chevy is called the heartbeat of America, and Silverado keeps that heartbeat strong. Whether you're towing, hauling, or tailgating, Silverado lets you show up strong and tackle any task with best in-class standard torque, the most functional bed in the advanced tech that's football guy approved. Check out the current offers on the 2026 Silverado at Chevy.com. Okay, week five in the books and special shout out to all the sickos and perverts
Starting point is 00:12:09 tuning in today because it's going to be a hell of an episode. They're going to love this one. basically everything they wanted and dreamed for. If you're Hank Ryder, shout out Gaz and Whitney, who probably have their pants off, listen to this episode. Yeah, they're enjoying it.
Starting point is 00:12:21 They're enjointed it. They're mincing themselves. They're lubed up, but let's get into it, boys. We had a crazy, Hank. Lava hot. We had a, it's crazy because we had a week five
Starting point is 00:12:30 that there actually, like, weren't that many great games, but the moments that happened were very, very memorable. There were some stupid, stupid moments. Yes. A lot of stupidity out there. There were a lot of games in the witching hour that had like there were very inconsequential,
Starting point is 00:12:46 blowout stuff. But then there's a few. The, the moments we did have left, left a lasting imprint. And we'll start with the Jaguars 19, Eagle 17, the early game, the international game. I'll say this right now. What they're doing to our boy max is really mean.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Because now we're back to back weeks where the Eagles have gone into a game where they, uh, were underdogs where they, everyone going into it was like, they're beat up. You know, last week they were beat up. This week, Lane Johnson retires, trading offensive linemen going across the pond. Two straight weeks,
Starting point is 00:13:26 they go into a game where they're not supposed to win, and they end up with 97% or higher win probability and then blow the game. They basically reel max into the point where they can fully rip his guts out. And it happened again with, yet again, another two field goals under 10 seconds, which I saw the stat from 1970, the Super Bowl era to 2026. It had never happened where there were two field goals under 10 seconds to end a game.
Starting point is 00:13:56 It's now happened twice in the 2026 NFL season. Yeah. Yeah. And the Eagles, I mean, they just kept going through it too because Shipley got hurt like right off the bat. So they were forced to rely on Damien Pierce off the practice squad. And listen, I don't think, think the Eagles played poorly at all. I thought that the Jaguars, they probably should have been a better position to win, but the one knock, I mean, I think that, I think Liam Cohen's a really good head coach. I think that he's a really good offensive coach, and he's doing stuff that's kind of next level, and he should get all the credit for elevating the Jaguars, what they're doing. But he's kind of a dumbass when it comes to certain situational football asses. He had beans for brains today.
Starting point is 00:14:35 He did. He did. He had pork and beans for brains. It didn't make a lot of, the end of the first half made no sense with the play calling. He was trying to get cute inside, like, on the one-yard line. Oh, you don't like a jet sweep with Christopher Rodriguez being the lead blocker on the outside with no time left? I don't like that. No. I don't.
Starting point is 00:14:52 I'm not afraid to say it. He was jagging off. And it was not fun to watch when they just, they were playing good football. And then it seems like they just try to outsmart themselves in the most situationally important parts of the game. But overall, I thought the Jaguars played pretty good today. and I thought that the Eagles played much better than most of us expected. Well, the Eagles defense played well.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Jalen Carter was an absolute force. And yeah, Liam Cohen had two moments, two goal line sets that were just baffling. The first was end of half to go for it with five seconds left and not take a field goal. And I get it. Everyone wants to go for it. The whole point, though, and we've talked about this before, is that it makes sense to go for it on goal on fourth and goal on like the one. when you have the opportunity to back up your opponent. So your opponent now has to, if they can't get a first down,
Starting point is 00:15:44 they're going to punt, you're going to get a good field position. At the end of the half, you don't have that. You're just going forward and not getting the benefit of the field position. So the play calling was crazy, a jet sweep that took forever, that Christopher Rodriguez was the blocker on the outside. He got absolutely like blown by the guy who is supposed to block, makes the tackle. And then first and goal on the one in the fourth.
Starting point is 00:16:07 In the fourth quarter, I believe, when they were like, hey, you know what? We got all the way down the field. Let's go into a weird wildcat formation. Oh, we got a penalty false start. We're going to go backwards. And they just kept on going backwards. That was stupid as well. But Max, how are you doing now that we've removed ourselves by, I don't know, like eight hours from the game?
Starting point is 00:16:31 Not as bad as I was right after the game. Okay. But still pretty fucking bad. Okay. So the biggest problem, obviously, and you can tell us who's to blame, but the Eagles, the Jaguars miss an extra point to go up two. The Eagles go down the field, kick a field goal with eight seconds left to win the game, so to speak. And then Jake Elliott, Jaguars have no time out. So it's not even a Ravens Cowboys situation.
Starting point is 00:16:59 That's what I'm going to say. You brought you. Yeah, yeah. It's not even a Ravens Cowboys situation. They can't, if you can't. If the Ravens, I think, downed it and then had a big play in the middle of the field, called the timeout, hit a tie loop field goal to win the game. This was no timeouts, just kick it out of the back of the end zone and make them do a stupid,
Starting point is 00:17:21 like, fumble rusky play that has a 0.01% chance of happening. Instead, Jake Elliott kicks a line drive to Amir Abdullah. Shout out, Nebraska. I know it was a tough weekend, but that was a nice return from him. still in the league. I think he got drafted in like 2015. Line drive to Mir Abdulah, who returns it all the way into Cam Little's range with one second left to kick the winning field goal. The way that it went down, it couldn't have gone better because if he gets tackled five yards later, the game is over. If he gets tackled five yards before it's out of field goal range.
Starting point is 00:17:59 It was the exact amount of time and yards that allowed. the Jags to win the game. But you just kick it out of bounds. You kick it out of bounds. You kick it, yeah, into the end zone. All you have to do at that point is defend the sideline. Anything in play is game over. And the defense has been so fucking good all game.
Starting point is 00:18:19 Trust your defense over your special teams. The first play of the game, they returned it for a touchdown. Why are you giving them the opportunity to go fucking do that again? Kick the ball in the fucking end zone and have your all-class defense win a fucking game. easily. It's so fucking easy. Why are you overthinking it? Just fucking do it. Put the ball in the fucking end zone and trust your fucking
Starting point is 00:18:42 defense. I said I wasn't that mad anymore and now I'm mad again. Yeah, I mean, you have every right to be mad. That was an insane way to lose a game. And honestly, Max, it's not even like, yes. Number one, kick it out of the end zone. Number two, if you can't kick it out of the end zone, kick it out of bounds.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Number three, kick a pop fly so that you're really. your coverage team can get down there. He kicked a fucking direct shot to Amir Abdullah. Like it was a kick designed to be returned in a situation where all you had to do is not do that. It was crazy. And not to mention in the drive before that led up to the field goal,
Starting point is 00:19:23 why are we throwing it on back-to-back plays with two incompletes to stop the clock and allow for eight seconds? Run the fucking football. Jake Elliott has been awesome this year. trust your fucking kicker make it the last play of the fucking game why are we doing this for five fucking yards
Starting point is 00:19:41 what difference is five fucking yards going to do when you can just take the last play of the game yeah no I think it's a valid point it was an absolute masterclass of fucking stupidity from Nick Siriani to end that game and he said it after the game he fucking lost the game you know Jay Elliott said the plan was
Starting point is 00:19:57 for the kickoff to keep the ball and bounce yeah no that's why yeah Nick Seriani said like I did not tell him to should have told him to kick it in the end zone. I didn't. I told him to kick it inbound. Right, right. He said he should have told him to kick it into the end zone and said he told him kick it into the landing zone, which is exactly what you don't want to do. And then they asked Jill and Hertz about that after the game that sequence you're talking about Max. And he just basically said, I just work here, man. I don't know why you're asking me. Well, the Eagles can't run the
Starting point is 00:20:24 ball right now. He said, they're on their third running back. Take a fucking knee. Yeah. Yeah. Or do a tush push. Anything. Anything. Just make that the last play of the game. He said it's not my place. when I'm up at night, I think about should I have said something. So he's going to be thinking about that tonight. So he's going to be like, it could have gone down different. He was also really bad in the second half. He just keeps doing the same fucking thing. The second half, the Eagles are just so bad.
Starting point is 00:20:46 I don't get it. I don't get it. It's the same. Even the Bears game, we got fucking smoked in that Bears game. But the first half, they looked good. They were right in that game. We just see the same fucking thing. Week in and week out.
Starting point is 00:21:01 It's like, oh, Jalen Hertz looks great. First half, the offense looks. great. And then the second half comes around. It's like they've never fucking played football before. They're a pee-wee team that can't move the ball. We're five, we're five games into the season. The Eagles in the second half this season, they have scored 23 points, which is last. They have 495 total yards, which is last. 51.7% of their drives are three and outs. So half their drives are three and outs in the second half last. And four point zero pass yards in an attempt, which is last. They just break in that second half. Every single game.
Starting point is 00:21:33 It's crazy. Well, we've run out of offensive linemen. We don't have any more. We have our fourth string center played today. Third string left guard, second string right tackle, and then our third string right tackle played right guard today. How's it? How's a bowling ball of knives?
Starting point is 00:21:52 I think he was good. I don't know. You got to watch the tape. You got to watch the tape. You got to watch smart. I've also found out that I don't like watching the tape when they lose. Yeah, that's fair. Yeah, completely fair.
Starting point is 00:22:02 Yeah. I got into. the tape, I watched it the two games that they won and it was fun and when they lose, it's like, I don't want to look at this game at all. Yeah, you just want, you want to watch highlights, but like different angles of highlights. Well, I like, that's what the tape is really good for, yeah. Well, I like
Starting point is 00:22:15 to critique games that we've won. Right. I don't like to look at games that we've lost. But that's where it is. Like, if your team has a big win, you spend the next like three hours watching all the highlights from it and then you run out of highlights to watch, but then like a day later, when the all 22's up, like I have entirely
Starting point is 00:22:31 new angles to see all these great plays on. Like I would love to watch the Jalen Carter all 22 of this game. Dude, he was a beast in that first half. Yeah. He was so good in this game. He was a wrecking ball. So, I mean, it is, it is mean what they've done to you because this was the Jaguars. You were seven and a half point underdogs.
Starting point is 00:22:50 You went into this game being like, hey, we're just going to, you know, we're the underdogs again. This is going to be fun being the underdog scrapping. And you did exactly that. You played underdog football. You scrapped. You played defense. Like you let them make mistakes. and to have that happen is just insane.
Starting point is 00:23:06 That's the longest flight that's ever been taking, like move over Amelia Earhart. I know you're probably still in the air. This is the longest flight ever. It's a bad, bad loss, yes, because you had it won. You weren't the better team today. The Jaguars played, they were really good. Parker Washington had an awesome game.
Starting point is 00:23:22 He was really, really good. But the Eagles did everything that they had to do to win the game. And, yeah, just brain fart at the end. The Jaguars, by the way, are the first. team since 2011 to win back-to-back games where they've had 13 or more penalties. So that's an issue for the Jaguars. 13 penalties, 100 yards. That's an issue for the Jaguars.
Starting point is 00:23:42 But they keep winning. It was not a good-looking game for the Jaguars. And they probably shouldn't have won, given the fact that the game was over. But they found a way to win. Yep. They found a way to win. Also shout out the Eagles fans. That was awesome.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Yeah, it was a home game. They traveled to London and they forced two delay of games at the goal line because they They were so loud. Yeah, that was very cool. Also considering that this should be a home game for the Jaguars. It is technically. Yeah, it was, it was literally a home game for them. But like to get to get outshone, I think the Eagles are just like probably the only fan base that could do that.
Starting point is 00:24:17 What do you do with Nick Seriani right now? He's a bad guy right now. He's a bad guy. He's a bad guy. I don't know. Is there a mutiny? I don't know. I read a headline that there might be a mutiny.
Starting point is 00:24:33 I didn't dive into the body of the article, but it said possible. Mutiny. Mutiny? Yeah, mutiny. I'm sick of them losing fucking games and he goes to the podium and he's like, first thing you got to do is look at yourself. Yep. He's like, he's actually kind of a narcissist.
Starting point is 00:24:45 He does it every fucking not. How much he's had to look at himself this year? Yeah. He's like, hey, dude, he's that one friend who's always checking themselves out in like the car windows. Come on, Nick. You know what my favorite post game quote was? It was from Britt and Covey. What did he said?
Starting point is 00:24:59 He said that Nick is wonderful at owning things. Mm. And we all try to follow his lead. Is he talking like a house, a jet ski? No, in terms of like saying, hand up, I fucked up. Got it. Like Nick Siriani might be the best coach in the NFL and being like, hey, I fucked up.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Yeah. You just got to stop fucking up and you can, and you don't have to say that all the time. Yeah, it's not a good thing to be great at admitting that you fucked up. Constantly being the my bad guy, at some point you're going to be like, hey, how about let's just not have it be your bad? It's Cam Ward. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Keep saying you got to look in the mirror and then nothing changes. So you got to get a better fucking mirror, man. Yeah. We have to take the mirrors out of his house. No, we got to get more mirrors. No, no, no. What if you get like carnival mirrors and make him look fat? And he's like, oh, my God, I got to change everything.
Starting point is 00:25:46 That's what you need to do. Yeah, the mirrors that he has are not, either get rid of all of them or change him up, maybe make him just one-way mirrors. Yeah, because right now, Nick Siriani's looking in the mirror and he's still saying, I'm Nick Siriani. I'm a Super Bowl winning head coach. I look pretty cool. We need to make him look grotesque.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Like maybe we draw Sharpie at. dick on the mirror. So every time he looks in the mirror, it's like, oh, dude, you got a dick in your mouth. What are you doing? Not if there's anything wrong with that. It was bad. This was, I, the only saving grace is that I didn't have to watch that in the cave. I know. We were like, man, we wish you were here. I want to see you. I, well, it was just, you've seen it before. I mean, it's also the first time I think it's like the first time I've, like, ever watching Eagles game with my wife. And she was just sitting there very awkwardly quiet as I watched what happened and just.
Starting point is 00:26:35 screaming. I had a... No, I wasn't screaming at all. It was just silence. It was like... You weren't screaming at all. No, I swear. Yeah. I just... You didn't scream once. It was a speech...
Starting point is 00:26:46 It was speechless. I had no... I had no words of what I had just watched. No screams. You didn't say a word. I don't think so. Amir Abdullah returns the kick. He gets tackled. And you didn't say it. Cam Little goes on to the field.
Starting point is 00:27:04 The fuck. Come on! Kicks the field goal. I don't think. And then goes up to the crowd and like, I was like, it was more like, oh my God, oh my God. Did you think there was a chance Cam Little missed a kick? No, I knew. Yeah, at least they didn't put, like,
Starting point is 00:27:17 because the minute he ran it back is like, Kim Little is fucking awesome. Oh, no, I knew that was good. Like, as soon as they got it into field goal range, I was like, oh my God, they lost a game. Yeah. And the whole time I was watching it was like, dude, it is a really hard thing to ask
Starting point is 00:27:29 someone on the coverage team to do, but imagine if he had had the, the mind to just hold them up. Yeah, that was the other thing. No, it was the perfect spot on the field. Yeah. The perfect spot on the field. Or just like, just run with him for a couple more seconds. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:44 Like next to him. Like you're going for a jog and then tackle him. Yeah. Hank, do you have any questions for Max? Thoughts for Max? Did you watch the game, Hank? You're an international guy? Yeah, well, the international.
Starting point is 00:27:54 You watched the game? Yeah. All of it? Also it. Okay. I don't believe you. I watched the end of it. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:28:01 Not the very end. I actually thought the, I went and took a shower after the... After the Eagles hit their first. Yeah. That was the end. Because it was like running late and I was like, oh, I got to. So then when you came out, what went through your head? I genuinely didn't see it until like 30 minutes later. Like I started watching the rest of the games.
Starting point is 00:28:16 I opened up my draft king because I bet the Eagles money line was like, oh, and then I was confused. And then I was really, I couldn't, I could not believe it. Damn. Did you scream? Yeah. I did scream. Yeah, you have to scream. You got it.
Starting point is 00:28:31 Which is why I know Max screamed. You definitely screamed. At least walked into your, you didn't walk into your bedroom after. and like yelling to a pillow or anything? No. Damn. I think that they need to do something about the timing of these games. Because this game, it wasn't even like a, I didn't run into overtime and it still,
Starting point is 00:28:51 and it felt like it ended, I don't like when there's overlap. Yeah, you know what? It has to end before the other games. You know what you do? That you play in America. Yeah. At the normal windows to play a football game. I love international.
Starting point is 00:29:06 I'm all about growing the game. I do the early morning sometimes. It is kind of a force. We got another one next week. I know. It's kind of a force. Big time force. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:17 I have a take. Yeah. I like Jason Kelsey. I think he's a nice guy. I think he's a talented broadcaster. Oh, don't do this to Max. I think he's a good podcast. Don't do this to Max.
Starting point is 00:29:26 If you're a Jaguars fan, you're watching that game, you want to destroy your television. Well, I mean, everything's against you. You have a home game where it's Eagles fans screaming. But usually the announcers that you, if, it's one thing to like opt in to them. It's another thing if it's the only broadcast that you can watch on TV and it's an NFL network.
Starting point is 00:29:44 And then Jason Kelsey's just talking about how great the Eagles are the whole time. If I'm, I was able to deal with it because I like Jason Kelsey and, and whatever. But if you're a Jaguars fan watching that game, that's got to be the most infuriating experience of all time. Yeah. You have a fair great. I disagree. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:01 I think he was being too impartial. There were, there were multiple times I was watching that game where I was like, no, no, No, no, no, no, no. Jason, we know what you're really thinking. I need you to be a home. Yeah, yeah. I like that. Two different sides of the same. Well, there were times, he was like, he loves Josh Heinz Allen.
Starting point is 00:30:15 I know. He kept, he was, complimenting a lot of the Jags. And I was like, Jason, come on now. He was like, I really gained a lot of respect for Josh Heinz Allen because Josh Heinzellon went out of his way to tell me how much he loved Lane Johnson. So I'm a big Josh Heinzellin guy now. Yeah, no, it should have been more of a homer. I know, like, I didn't like it. I didn't like it at all to be out.
Starting point is 00:30:37 to be quite honest with you. All right, do you guys have a bye week? No. Oh. You're playing the Panthers next week? We get the Panthers coming off of a buy. So we not only get a buy, we have to play a team coming off of a buy. Ew.
Starting point is 00:30:51 Which that makes zero sense. That's brutal. Why do they do that to you? But hey, do you want to say the thing that you said to him last week that you can say to them, it still applies today? I forget what I said to him. I say a lot of things to Max. You can still win the division. Max, you can still win the division.
Starting point is 00:31:07 you're right in the thick of it. Max? Yep. Do you hear what PFT said? You can still win the division. Even the Eagles aren't out of it yet. Eagles are favorites to win the division.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Wow. Plus 170. You got this, Max. The, uh, Commanders plus 750. Hmm. Ooh. Maybe worth a sprinkle.
Starting point is 00:31:29 Put some good ball that you want to go to that game. Let's do it. Go ball. All right. Giants 27 commanders 27. Uh, our guy, PMT stats, put it perfectly when he tweeted,
Starting point is 00:31:37 uh, the NFC East had two teams play one another, a team that led while kicking off with eight seconds left, a team that played an 0 and 4 team, and they won zero games this week. Yep. That's pretty hard to do. The Giants 27,
Starting point is 00:31:53 Commanders 27. I don't think that's fair because the Giants won. Yeah. The Giants won this tie. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you always say that there's always a winner and a loser in a tie. When we tied England in the World Cup in Qatar,
Starting point is 00:32:06 we beat the shit out of them in that zero-zero tie. The commanders choked away this tie. Yeah. We are the losers of the tie. And it's weird because you could make the argument earlier in that overtime that the giants choked away their tie. Cam Scatibu. Scadaboo. I mean, I guess we can take it.
Starting point is 00:32:25 Do you want to do the end of the game first? Whatever you want to do. It's your game. Yeah. Hank, you tell them. Yeah. End of the game first. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:31 So a lot of people are asking, hey, PFT. I've been waiting like five hours for this. Yeah. Hey, PFT, who do you blame for the way that the game ended? Initially, it was Dan Quinn, in the cave. The answer is, I blame Jaden Daniels 100%, and I blame Dan Quinn 100%. Okay. And I think what happened was, number one, in the post-game interviews that they did,
Starting point is 00:32:54 it seemed like Jaden was trying to say something that he wasn't actually. Well, can you describe for the people that didn't see, maybe the listeners that didn't get to watch the game? For the blind listeners. Yes, yes, set the scene. Okay, so with about 51 seconds left, we have the ball. We're driving. We've reached, I believe, the 24-yard line. It's 27-27.
Starting point is 00:33:12 It's overtime. No timeouts left. No timeouts for the commanders. It's at the 24-yard line. It's important to say because I don't know if everyone on the commanders knew that. There's no timeouts. We have zero timeouts left. And we run the ball with Rashad White.
Starting point is 00:33:27 We take our sweet-ass time. Jaden stand there with both his hands and the hand warmers. So there's like no urgency. You can tell that they're doing something intentional, deliberate. blah, blah, blah, blah. Then they get up. They run in motion. They bleed the clock down and they run a play. Jaden drops back from under center, handing the ball off to no one, play fake to no one, then panics, takes a couple steps forward to his left, and then he dives at a defender's leg, thereby keeping the clock running. As I said, no timeouts. And then they weren't able to get a snap off to spike it to kick a field goal,
Starting point is 00:34:04 which would have been about a 41-yard field goal at the last second. Also, there was no urgency once he went down for about three seconds. He didn't realize that the clock was running. Right. There's no urgency at that point. So I should also mention that I think it was Jonathan Vilma on the broadcast. He had no idea what was going on. He was saying, okay, they're going to try to get the ball in good position here for their kicker to kick it.
Starting point is 00:34:26 So he had no idea that there were no timeouts? So does he get 100% of the blame? No. Yeah, yeah. Actually, yes. Good point, Hank. but that's why I think I was confused when I was watching it too because it was like, wait a second, what's going on here?
Starting point is 00:34:39 Yeah, they're centering the ball. They're cent. They're sitting the ball for the kicker. So why I say it's 100% on Jaden? Because I think good organizations and good coaches, offensive coordinators and head coaches, will make sure to run through every scenario with their quarterback before a play like that.
Starting point is 00:34:57 I think they'll leave no doubt in anybody's mind what's going on. I think a good coach would do that. Oh, Max is circling something. Okay. The commanders talked about not having any timeouts in the huddle. Yeah. So they were aware. Right.
Starting point is 00:35:12 Ball with white. So in between that white run to the end of the game, what was that communication like in the huddle? Did you guys know there was a timeout? You didn't have any timeouts left. Was that talked about in the huddle after the white run? That was talked about in the middle, yes. Right. So what I'm saying is a good organization will say, here's what you do, throw the ball out of
Starting point is 00:35:32 bounds or clock it if that reads not there. Apparently, they did not say that explicitly, but you should not have to say that explicitly. Your quarterback should know exactly what's going on. He did not know what was going on. So, yeah, and then in the post-game press conference, I feel like he was trying to say something without actually saying it. And I'm still kind of confused as to exactly what it was because he was talking about
Starting point is 00:35:58 how it's like an entire team from the top down. So Jane said, we all have to be better situationally. Starts with me. Everybody will say the same thing, but we just got to be better at situational football. We've got to stop the clock. We got to know the situation. We've got to relay that as an offense. It starts from everybody, top down.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Ultimately, it's on me. It sounded like he was trying to say something about the coaching staff without saying something about the coaching staff. And if they did tell him the situation and he's trying to blame them, that's a scumbag move. Now, I think it's on Dan Quinn also because, like, Like, he should have gone through, you go through every scenario if you're a really good head coach like that. You make it very clear what your quarterback's going to do. Obviously, your quarterback should know what to do, but you have to go to that step.
Starting point is 00:36:42 And I think that ultimately, Dan Quinn's going to bear most of the responsibility for this because he got Magic Johnson tweeting mad. Yeah. And Magic Johnson never, he never posts mad. He was mad. Magic Johnson usually has, it's like buying a handgun. There's usually like a three-day waiting period that Magic Johnson has before he is allowed to post. after he's mad. He said,
Starting point is 00:37:03 I'm in total disbelief. My commanders had such poor clock management in today's overtime game against the Giants. All we had to do was kick the field goal and we would have won the game. Yep. So that's not something that Magic Johnson would normally say.
Starting point is 00:37:17 That to me tells me Dan Quinn might be, the seat might be hotter than hot. Like it might be your card doesn't work on Monday type hot. Max, you look like you had a question. You're acting like Jane Daniels doesn't know how to play football. I don't mean, Pat. No, he just needs to get told, like, exactly what to do, when to snap the ball, where to throw it.
Starting point is 00:37:42 And if he doesn't do that, it's not his fault. I said, it's the coaching stats. You just, like 30 seconds to the point where I said. A dangar win is going to get the responsibility. Yeah. I think he'll be the one. I don't think that Magic Johnson is going to cut Jane Daniels. Well, that's not crazy for P. FD. to say that the coach will get the blame for this.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Yeah, that's what I'm saying. But Jane Daniels has to know. And he deserves. He's his third year. I literally said that. I'm saying that like he has to know that. But then you also said that five times. It's like a good organization doesn't do.
Starting point is 00:38:16 I think both those things are true. I think a good quarterback doesn't do that. I think that most quarter. Like you said a good organization five times. I don't think you ever like. I said it was his responsibility. I said like he should have known that. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:38:30 It's on him. He's a quarterback. He has to know that. Anyone who knows football, like everyone watching. that game for that. So I think I think what happened if I not Jonathan Vilma. Yeah not Jonathan 100% of the blame. Watching the play over again, it looked like something in the play wasn't what he expected as soon as the ball got snapped. Something was different about the play than what he expected. He panicked and he went forward and he dove and it's not an excuse. It's not an excuse.
Starting point is 00:38:56 It's not an excuse. I'm saying that's what happened. It was a bad, bad play and it is his responsibility to know that. But I still don't know if he knew because he didn't get up right away. like he didn't I don't think he was like when he when he went down he didn't get he didn't get up for like four seconds he just kind of sat there until the rest of the team was like dude we got to go it was Josh Connerley yeah that was the first one to identify what are we doing so like it's it's weird I don't I don't know I'm reading between the lines with what he said at his press conference what Dan Quinn said at his press conference and it seems like they're both ultra committed to not saying anything at all and not saying anything of substance so like you have to read between the lines a little bit, but the bottom line is, Jane Daniels has to know exactly what's going on. Dan Quinn, good organizations, good coaches, will just, like, tell them the exact scenario. But you say that, but then when the players,
Starting point is 00:39:46 when you see the, like, the, I don't know if that it was an offensive lineman, like he said that the players were aware of the situation. Yeah, they knew they had no timeouts. So what, if they knew they had no timeouts, what didn't the coaches do? Like, did they, like, what were they supposed to tell him for them to not have blame?
Starting point is 00:40:05 I don't know. Mike, for who to not have blame? The coaches. Like you're saying it's like the coaches' organization, like they should have been more specific. Like some of the players knew. It sounds like they all knew. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:17 Well, he said some of the players knew. I saw another interview with somebody else that said, not so much. So, like, I don't know. I don't know exactly. I don't think we're ever going to know all that happened. The bottom line is that Jaden has to know the situation and throw the ball away or spike it.
Starting point is 00:40:33 Just throw the ball into the ground. It's not hard to do. Like it looked like the play call had a throwaway. Yeah. Like they had to design the play. There's a guy going to the sideline that all he has to do is throw it over his head. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:45 Like 82 is right is right there. All he has to do is throw it over 82. Yeah. So I don't know. I don't know what happened and the reason for like no rush whatsoever. I think you just had it like a complete brain farm. He might have had a complete brain fart. I think like they had it seemed like they had the play.
Starting point is 00:41:03 They knew. he might have forgotten how much time was left on the car. I think he had a complete brain fart because he didn't get up right away. If he'd gotten up right away, you'd have been like, oh, that was just a broken play, something fucked up happened in the play. He literally didn't get up for three seconds until someone was like, dude, get up. Yeah. So that's like, he just didn't know the situation.
Starting point is 00:41:20 Yeah. It's, it's, it was a terrible play. And he fucked it up. Hank, do you have any questions? Trying to think, no. Like the, I guess if a hundred, you can't, there's, if there's only a hundred percent, of blame pie on the table, so you can't do 100 and 100. I got two pies, though.
Starting point is 00:41:39 No, there's one pie. Why can't I do two pies? Because I'm asking a question in a scenario, there's one pie. Yeah. Where does that pie get split up? So I could do the thing where... Jonathanville's got to get 1%. Yeah, I'm saying five for JV.
Starting point is 00:41:55 But you can look at other stuff that happened in the game. You can say that Dan Quinn had the most cowardly punt of the NFL season so far, when he punted the ball away in overtime at fourth and five and gave the ball up. Like that was a bad move. He said Dan Quinn had some responsibility for not calling a timeout at the very end of the game when the Giants had the ball on their own one yard line
Starting point is 00:42:17 and let them just take a knee at the one and there were like six seconds left in the game and then you could try to get, you could try to attack them for safety. Like they're backed up that far, literally at their own goal line. Why not make them run another play at that point? there's other stuff you can point out like a missed extra point in the game and be like that should
Starting point is 00:42:38 happen there's a lot of bad stuff that happened but yeah that as like who gets the responsibility for that last play is that what you're asking yeah one thing that you that you can give dan quinn the credit the you know the blame for you just shouldn't even be running that play like yeah like even calling that play opens up a bad thing because like he could have there could have been a great pressure and he got sacked and he couldn't even get it away intentionally grounding, just kick the fucking ball. Just kick the fucking ball. It was an intermediate pass play.
Starting point is 00:43:09 So I guess the idea was like try to get four yards to the sideline. See, that's what pisses me off with the same thing of the Eagles game. Just trust your fucking kicker. Four yards makes no fucking difference. Like how many fucking times do you see good from wherever, good from wherever? If it's a good kick, it's a good fucking kick. Four yards, 98% of the time is not going to make a single difference. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:31 So why risk it? I mean, ultimately, this is, I think there's no way that this happens. A lot of it you have to look at and say if Jaden played and was in these scenarios more often, and he was on the field, he's more used to being there, less likely to have a brain fart. That's kind of what it comes down. That's fair. And maybe it was a brain fart. Maybe he was told some wrong information that we're not being shared.
Starting point is 00:43:54 I don't know. They're very weird with how they're talking about it. My guess is that they're just all kind of trying to protect one person, whether that's Ann Quinn or whether that's Jaden. I don't know. But it's bad. It was a very, very bad ending of a very winnable game, a 41-yard field goal. And it's not like we didn't need to run the clock down because if you make the field goal that's game over, they're not getting the ball back. We're not going to have to kick off. And then there's ultimately some blame pie that goes to the defense in the fourth quarter. And we got James caught fire. James caught fire. We got James likely caught
Starting point is 00:44:30 fire. We got James big time and they went, they figured out in the fourth quarter, we got to start going Mikey hunting. And I don't know why it took him that long to do it because the defense was pretty good through three quarters. And then they went Mikey hunting and, yeah, likely and neighbors both had career days just lit us up. And yeah, I mean, credit to the Giants for fighting back and going on a couple long drives in the fourth quarter that ended up tying the game. I also think that the Giants should have gone for two after they ended up scoring the touchdown that took him to one point behind at the end of the fourth.
Starting point is 00:45:07 But I think ultimately, that's one thing about Harbaugh. He's not an aggressive coach. He just always had Lamar Jackson telling him, we got to go for it now. The Giants seem to figure out who on that team is going to be the Lamar Jackson, that he trusts that he'll have to just give him that boost and be like, hey, coach, we should go for this. So we can say, okay, because he doesn't have that killer instinct right now. Harbaugh had some funny quotes after the game. He said, our defense has been playing, or we know,
Starting point is 00:45:30 He said on James Swinson, I thought he was amazing in the fourth quarter of the second half. The first half, he wasn't. He'll be the first to tell you that. That's a good coach, just given some hard truth. And then he said, I'm happy it wasn't a loss and I'm sad. It wasn't a win. So that's how I feel. So I know it sounds obvious, but that's kind of how you feel.
Starting point is 00:45:47 That's a perfect way to sum it up. Yeah. And it's crazy because the overtime in this game had so many swings. Yeah. So fourth and five, like I said, we punt the most cowardly punt in the NFL this season that Dan Quinn chose to do. Then the Giants come back down the field later on, and the Giants end up at our 24-yard line, and Cam Scadaboo fumbles, I think it was Duran Payne, punched the ball out, fumbles at the 24 when they could have just taken a knee and kicked a field goal,
Starting point is 00:46:17 and they would have won. So now we get the ball back when we would have just been begging for a tie-out from this field, and we go down the field, then we fuck everything up, and then all a sudden the Giants win the tie. Yep. It's a back-and-forth tie. It's a back-and-forth tie. It's back and forth tie. So what was the blame pie on the last play? On the last play? Without us knowing everything, I'm going to say 75% Jaden, 25% Dan Quinn. Now who's going to end up eating shit for it?
Starting point is 00:46:43 Probably Dan Quinn. I'd agree with that. Do you think there's any, like, beef in the locker room, like with some of the players not having Jains back? And like, you know, as it comes back to the Arizona State stuff, is that, is that something that's brewing? Good question. No. Or is that, that's just, that's nonsense. I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:46:58 They're all pretty happy. They're pretty happy with him today because he did play well. And he was, you know, he looked good running the ball. He ran really well. He had over 100 yards rushing, was pretty effective in passing. He fucked up a couple third downs that probably would have put the game away. But overall, I'd say he played a decent game throwing the ball and a great game running the ball. So I think his teammates loved it.
Starting point is 00:47:22 I think there's the fastest that he's ever run today. That's awesome. Yeah. So I think he's okay. I don't think that they hate him. It was also, the day got off to a weird start with Adam Schaefter being like, hey, according to league circle doctors, he's probably going to dislocate his elbow again. Yeah, that was weird. That's weird news.
Starting point is 00:47:40 That's weird news. Sheffter had a weird weekend. He did. Which we'll talk about when we get to the Texans game. Okay. So Giants now hits top of the NFC East. What, 3-1 and 1? It's great that we got a tie.
Starting point is 00:47:53 It was also just the most hilarious tie ever. Yeah. From an objective third party, it was. Quite a ridiculous tie to have. Because both teams felt like they were going to win. And then it's just like, oh, shit. I wasn't even thinking about a tie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:07 The Giants were 0 and 230 since 1970 when they were trailing by 14 plus points in the final eight minutes regulation. Mm-hmm. They are now 0, 230 and 1. Now they got a tie. They got a tie out of them. They're off the schneide. So if we had won this game, I probably would have felt really good like we're back. Now it's, this feels like classic Redskins football.
Starting point is 00:48:28 This feels like all the bad vibes that have ever happened. And it does feel like this is, this is the type of thing that is more likely to make a team fall apart at the seams. And it is to bring them closer together. I would say so. But I guess we'll find out next Monday night in San Francisco. Ooh. Yeah. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:48:45 That's a tough draw. That'll be tough. Whose line is that anyway? I'm going to guess. 15 and a half. Seven and a half. 15. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:53 Seven and a half sounds about right. That's about maybe eight and a half. I think it's seven or seven and a half. Eight and a half could be a good. It's be over a touchdown. Fourteen and a half. Seven and a half. Because I don't think that the commanders are that bad,
Starting point is 00:49:07 but that was a very bad way to lose a tie. To lose a tie. Yeah. Are you good, Hank? Do you got any other questions? No, that's it. Yeah, I guess with the NFC beast being the new NFC South, like, do you still think you can win the division?
Starting point is 00:49:22 They are the Billy Baldwin of divisions. So yes. Yes, I do. I don't think it's... I think anyone can win that division. Like I said, it's going to be tough because this is the type of thing that will make for infighting and, like, people playing the blame game. And then that's not ever going to make a team closer. But strictly from how we played today, taking away that very last second brain fart, I think that we still could because the division is asked.
Starting point is 00:49:47 I think anyone, if you stack enough ties, you could win division. What are you going to say, Zach? Quick question. PFT, who would you want the blame to fall on in the organization? Like who do I want to see fired? Like who do you want, if it comes out like, hey, we got to blame somebody. Who do you want to be blamed the most here? I would like to blame.
Starting point is 00:50:04 Jonathan, well, he's number one, obviously, but he's not in the organization. You got to hire him and fire him. And be like, see? Yeah. We got someone for you guys. Whoever is in charge of just sticking Luke McCaffrey on special teams and not using him. Okay. Do you think there's a chance that Dan Quinn hires a nerd?
Starting point is 00:50:22 It is a very Dan Quinn thing to do. You could definitely see him hiring a nerd being like, here's our nerd. He's going to make sure this doesn't happen again. The reason why I'm still not completely convinced that it's not Dan Quinn's fault what happened at the end. It's like he does, he did have that whole 28 to 3 thing. Yeah. But yeah, maybe it's a nerd. He's never been a master of the clock.
Starting point is 00:50:42 Maybe it's like, you know, you hire someone to look over the nuclear station after Chernobyl. Be like, hey, we got a guy who's making sure that there's no accidents anymore. But again, that's something that could very easily be done. Yeah. I don't know. I don't think that you necessarily needed a nerd in this situation. You needed to figure out what to do. No, just basic situational awareness.
Starting point is 00:51:06 And also the thing that I'm confused by, why, if it's all agreed that this is just going to be a clocking of the ball, why was Jaden under center? That seems like line them up in shotgun. And then you don't have to worry about the exchange or anybody getting stepped on. That seems that's a new. Under center would be clocking the ball. That's a weird part to me. obviously wasn't like a clocking, like a straight down spike. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:28 It was the Kirk Cousins. You spiked that where he took a knee. Okay. And credit to the Giants for forcing a tie. Scadaboo was a monster. And James. James is, I don't really know what to, they did bring in J.J. McCarthy for a play. He just got smoked.
Starting point is 00:51:44 That seemed kind of mean. It was actually two plays, I think. Yeah. A couple plays. And he, it was like an RPO and he just got swallowed up. So it's good to see him out there. He was sitting underneath the, the, field goal post before the game
Starting point is 00:51:57 doing his Zen stuff. So he's back, kind of. It does feel like they're conditioning us to have Jaden lose the starting job soon. What? That's what it felt like to me. James? James. Oh, James. Oh, that was a slip. Is it 8th and time?
Starting point is 00:52:13 Is it a 40 and slip? Is it time for 8th? No, I'm talking about James. Because JJ got in a few times and James did not look like he was ready for that. He was not expecting to be taken out of the game. So that's why I'm saying. It's probably something that they're,
Starting point is 00:52:28 they're probably trying to do the boiling frog thing where we'll put JJ in for like three more plays every week until all of a sudden he's a starter. Nobody realizes he yet. That was a deep, deep, dark thought slip. Do I think that they should bench Jaden? No, I don't think that they... No, I know.
Starting point is 00:52:44 You said it twice. That's why we all stopped and we're like, whoa. Okay, that's that game. Great tie. Sickles and Perverts. We got more. There's another song. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:52:54 Packers 31. Bears seven. Listen, Mike Dicca died. Let's start with that. Okay? I know that it's a little tongue and cheek, but it was,
Starting point is 00:53:03 I was sad on Friday to hear the passing of Mike Dicco. Would you guys not agree, like Mount Rushmore football guy? Just everything about him is football. Yeah, football guy. He was a tight end. One of Super Bowl is a tight end. One of Super Bowl is an assistant coach.
Starting point is 00:53:19 One of Super Bowl is a head coach. Live, breathe, eat football. We got to interview him. I got to do a couple of radio. with him. Every time I got to spend even a second of time with him, it was an absolute thrill. He was exactly what you thought was exactly what you saw on camera, what you thought Mike Dicca would be. He was that in person. I was looking back and the way we got our interview
Starting point is 00:53:41 with Mike Dicca, like, it was like 2016, 2017. Someone had given me Mike Dicca's phone number and I just texted him and I said, hey, coach, this is early part of my take. So he could have just been like, fuck off of Mike Dicca. Like, hey, coach, would love to interview. you. Can we maybe set that up? And he just wrote back and said, yeah, come to my restaurant Thursday night. And that was it. We just went to his restaurant. He was just there. And he's like, all right, where do you want to do this? And then we just did it in his restaurant. He gave us his time. And he was the best. So that sucked on Friday, you know, all-time football guy. But this game, this game really sucked too. Packers 31 Bears 7, like I said, that was an absolute ass kicking,
Starting point is 00:54:23 punking, bitch slapping, no way to put it other than the Bears got pantsed and all the good vibes from last year and the rivalry and Ben Johnson ramping it up.
Starting point is 00:54:39 You could tell this game was very personal for Matt LaFlor, very personal for Jordan Love, and they proved that they were just better like every which way today and it was a tough, tough watch. And I'll say this, Tyson Bejant, not an NFL quarterback.
Starting point is 00:54:57 I think we could be done with that. Yeah, I was thinking that they were going to replace him at halftime because he didn't look great. He scored that drive at the end of the half. The timing wasn't there. Everything that worked for him seemed like it was done out of improvisation where, like say what you want about Kis Keenum, like the arm strength, but he definitely got the ball out on time.
Starting point is 00:55:16 He decisively knew where it was going. Here's the problem. I think Tyson Bejian thinks in his head that he's a starting quarterback. He does, yeah. He doesn't know that he's a best. backup quarterback. And so when Case Keenham comes in a game and he knows I'm a backup quarterback at this point in my career, I have to run the offense, get the ball out, let the guys make plays, just get out of the way and just like distribute the ball quickly. Tyson Bejan is standing in the
Starting point is 00:55:40 pocket being like, I'm going to make the big throw. You don't have the big throw arm, dude. I'm sorry. You could have a long career as a backup quarter. That'd be great. I'm not rooting against Tyson Bejian. It was just a very tough watch. And I, I, just desperately want to see Caleb Williams back playing, which he did warm up today. So hopefully that happens. But he was bad. Jalen Johnson was really bad. The secondary, here's the problem is that I went into this game on Friday's show.
Starting point is 00:56:06 I said I expect the bears to win. So I'm not going to backtrack on that. I thought the bears were going to win. I thought we were the better team. Do you remember the two things, though, that I was like, here's what I would be concerned about. One, Tyson Bejian being a backup quarterback playing a game, teams getting, you know, tape on him and being like, hey, this guy can't make all that.
Starting point is 00:56:23 the throws. That turned out to be very true. Two, playing Carson Winston and Monsoon, Gino Smith in 2026 Philadelphia Eagles offense is probably not how you should base your defense somehow being elite. And I was like, once we go on the road and play a real quarterback, it could be a problem. And Jordan Love was phenomenal today. He was just bomb after bomb after bomb all on the secondary's head he was so good and it was just a like it's a burn the tape type of game like i'm not going to sit here and be like oh man the bear season's over all everything's bad no no it's a really really bad game move on to the next game burn the tape hopefully get Caleb back and you need mona guy back too because rochon johnson not it's a little different watching him
Starting point is 00:57:11 run the ball with him when when manangai has the ball is there any part that thinks like maybe the Packers, like they choked away those games last year in the second half. Maybe the floor got smarter. No, I think, I honestly think this is how, this is like human nature sports. The Bears had, had an up on the Packers last year with how the end of the season went, with the overtime winning at Soldier Field, then the playoff win. The Packers spent all offseason being like, fuck those guys, we're going to get them back. and they looked like the team that had been spending all offseason being like,
Starting point is 00:57:50 when we get our shot, we're going to fucking give it to them. And the Bears look like the team that had been like, oh, we're fine. We can beat them now. That's what it looked like. It looked like a team that took it personal and then took it out on the opponent, which happened to be the Bears today. So you can't really say anything other than that. You're like, hey, they kicked our ass.
Starting point is 00:58:09 The defense looked like dog shit today. Yeah. And this is a Packers defense too that was, the Bears' defense looked bad. Packers defense should have been, you know, was getting gashed and they weren't able to run the ball. And the Packers had all these flaws that they played 60 minutes of really good football and absolutely embarrassed the Bears. So it's what makes rivalries great. You go back and forth. The handshake afterward was very icy, which I love.
Starting point is 00:58:35 So, but this is the part. Like you can't. I bet you. When I watched the Ben Johnson Handshake from last year where you like came in low. Yeah. Like the hard one. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:44 Yeah, this one, you could tell LaFleur really enjoyed this. Yeah, no, he has every right to. That's the thing is like, Ben Johnson would probably say it. I've, I have ramped up the rivalry. When we get, you know, when the serve gets volley back at us and we have someone ramp it up back at us, we got to take it like men and be like, hey, that was a bad loss, figure out a way to beat him on Christmas Day. Are you also worried about what happens when teams start going Johnson hunting? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:13 Because they were, they were hunting. Johnson big time. I mean, I have not fooled myself in thinking that the Bears defense was magically fixed after that three-game stretch. I think there's major problems. Austin Booker was really, really good, and he looks like he's becoming a dude. But, yeah, no, this secondary has major, major problems. Jalen Johnson looks like a step slow on everything.
Starting point is 00:59:32 And so you've got to figure out a way to fix it. And you've got to figure out a way to, we're going to play the Falcons next week. And that's a really good offense. I'm scared of good offenses. And you just hope that Caleb gets back. because I think when we talked about it before the season, this team is going to have to just play in shootouts to win these games.
Starting point is 00:59:51 And look, Ben Johnson went two and one with backup quarterbacks. If Caleb comes back on Sunday, Ben Johnson went two and one with backup quarterbacks. I'll take that all day. I think everyone would take that. If you're like, hey, you lose your starter, you go two and one. But we need Caleb back. And anyone who's fooling themselves that it's not,
Starting point is 01:00:09 that this was going to be sustainable for a long period of time, you need Caleb back. because this is not this was not for yeah Greg Olson said that um that he looked great in warm up yeah so Caleb like he went through a whole warm-ups so yeah hopefully he's he's he went he's questionable he was questionable so um yeah he didn't dress but yeah you need calved back what do you think about memes suggesting that maybe the jets yeah that's in the post game handshake the jets took all of ben Johnson's ability as a coach that's now it belongs to erin glenn That's what I was talking about memes.
Starting point is 01:00:44 I said, I saw what you did. I think it's a fair post. Well, I mean, Aaron Glyden and Ben Johnson are really close friends. I don't think C.J. Stroud and Caleb Williams were. No, but Freaky Friday. You ever see Freaky Friday? Yeah, I saw Freaky Friday. My tweet was, that would be sick if that happened.
Starting point is 01:01:00 Listen, the sample size on the Freaky Friday, so far is 100%. The Jets won and the Bears lost. So you're right. Yeah. Stuff that you can do about it. You just got to burn the Friday. fucking tape. This is a bad one man. The Packers had a much better play. I didn't realize in the
Starting point is 01:01:16 first quarter you guys got out gained 130 to 9. Dude, we didn't like we couldn't move the ball. Tyson Bayesian was throwing it into like five people. And that's not to say that no one was like I'm not going to do the thing where it's like no one was open. No, no, there were guys open. He just was throwing it to the guys cover. Yeah. Uh, because he couldn't
Starting point is 01:01:34 read what was going on. He was throwing blind. And the Packers, like, this is, this is the scary Jordan love scary Matt LaFleur when they just take deep shot after deep shot and Christian Watson was unbelievable and Matthew Golden looked awesome. So yeah, the scary team when they get it rolling like that. Hank, do you have any questions? Uh, yes, Big Cat. Does Ben Johnson... Do you want to say anything about Mike Dicca? Yeah, legend. Football guy. Great guy.
Starting point is 01:02:01 Wish you had remembered the batteries. Yeah, bad interview, bad Zoom. No, I had, no, we recorded it. It just bad tech. Oh, we just recorded it with the camera, microphone. I listened back to The Zoom The Zoom It was just knives and plates We did in a restaurant And like we were like There was so much noise
Starting point is 01:02:22 The Zoom recorder Like didn't work basically But we didn't realize that I didn't realize that I didn't realize that till after the fact We had to use the camera audio And it was just in a ballroom essentially Well coach Dickett told us to show up
Starting point is 01:02:35 And he'd do it Yeah no That was tough That was also like week two of the podcast Yeah Yeah Um, so how much blame? Which speaks more to Dica being like these
Starting point is 01:02:45 idiots that I have never heard of. Yeah. I'll do this interviews. Yeah, just show up. Yeah. And we'll do it. Yeah. How much blamed you put on yourself if there's a blame pie?
Starting point is 01:02:55 Blame pie, probably 95% big cat. 5% of, okay. 5% me. 95. Why? Just because it can't, can all be me. Okay. Got it.
Starting point is 01:03:08 Got it. Got it. So, but I get 95. You should have trusted him. Yeah. No, no. That was, that was, that was, that was, that was, that was, my bad.
Starting point is 01:03:14 It was also when we didn't have any sound guy. It was just the three of us. Yeah, I can't even play Mark. We didn't have, we didn't have anything. We just showed up. This is before we were in New York.
Starting point is 01:03:23 It actually is insane to look back and be like, he said, just come to my restaurant. We showed up. We ate dinner. And he walked in and was like, all right, you want to do it?
Starting point is 01:03:31 And then we just fucking sat at the back of the restaurant right by where the, everyone was, I think they were like cleaning the silverware. Yeah, they were doing the, they were doing sidework. You were like wrapping silverware. hear you guys in the interview.
Starting point is 01:03:43 Yeah, no. It's just, please. Oh, man. All right, so what was your question? Does Ben Johnson's record against NFC North concern you? I saw that. You got to win the division games, yeah. You got to.
Starting point is 01:03:55 Like, I don't know what it's been. Now, my counterpoint would be we won the division last year. So, yes, not great against the division, but we did win the division. It's going to be harder to win the division when you lose the division games. And yeah, we got to figure it out. We're owing two in the division right now. It's fucking sucks. You can try tying them.
Starting point is 01:04:15 Could try tying them. Yeah. I think this is, I mean, it's going to be all about how the bears respond. If Caleb comes back on Sunday and we play the Falcons and we look awesome, it's like, all right, that's a, that's a burn the tape. Like I said, burn the tape, like anomaly type of game. I just hope the defense is not as bad as they were today because, again, it was like on their head constantly. Just over and over.
Starting point is 01:04:39 You can't say whatever Ben Johnson thing. if Caleb Williams is not playing next week, who do you want starter? Yeah, Case Keatom. I mean, that's, yeah, it's got to be. Tyson Bejum was, he just wasn't good. And it's, he's unfortunately played a few times in starting. And I think he's like three touchdowns, nine interception. Do you want to hear, do you guys want to hear a crazy one to finish this and we'll go to the next game?
Starting point is 01:05:05 We, the Kubey Gami thing is stupid, right? We all agree because they do the QBigami of like this, that line for, QB. Like there's Yeah, you know. So many stats. So many stats. There's 32 QB stat lines every single week. But I will give him credit for this. You know, Kis Keenum had 108 yards, zero touchdowns, one interception, no QB gami. Stat line has happened 18 times before, most recently by J.J. McCarthy on December 21st, 2025. Tyson Baygent had 87 yards, zero touchdowns, two interceptions, no QBegami.
Starting point is 01:05:36 Stat lines happened nine times before. Most recently by J.J. McCarthy on November 23, 2025. We had two J.J. Jim McCartys in this game. Double nine. That's insane. Yeah. To have two guys, that is a jubi gami. It's also not good. No, I know. It's, it's hilarious that we had two quarterbacks play in this game, both had stat lines that most recently happened exactly by J.J. McCarthy last year. Yeah. That's hard to. Are you looking at this loss and saying ultimately it could be a good thing? Uh, well, yeah, it's whatever, however they answer. Yes. Because if it, if it was Caleb that played in this, game, I could see this just being a big bummer.
Starting point is 01:06:14 But it might be one of those good losses that kind of shocks you, slaps you in the face. It's like, you're not actually as good as everyone's been saying that. Well, I think the defense is this was a eye opening. I knew it was possible because like I said, the home road split that I talked about, I referenced on Friday is a real thing. I think overall, like, hey,
Starting point is 01:06:35 this defense has still got problems and maybe we can add to it and figure out a way to do that at the trade deadline because we're not going to play Carson Winston and Monsoon, Gino Smith, and 2026, Gieland Hertz. Like, that's not, that's not how you should base your, your defensive stats. Okay, Hank, it's just like, it's actually like, the sickles and perverts, if they could draw it up perfectly. Yeah, it's great. It's like heartbreaking max loss, insanely embarrassing.
Starting point is 01:07:05 I'm going to go pee. Tie for, for, for, for PFT. Packers kicked the shit out of the bear. Where's Max leaving? And then Patriots 45, Raiders 17, and Drake May is all the way back. Max, you have to face the music. This is sad by Max. This is really sad.

You tried to get out of the Patriots 45 Raiders 17 and Drake May being all the way back. You know, Hank, I should have realized how this day was going to go when I was doing my fantasy corner this morning. And one of the lockheads, I don't even know what you call your fans, the Hank stands, the lockheads. Family, just my family. Okay, so just your family likes you, no one else.
Starting point is 01:10:06 Yeah. Okay. So someone from your family. asked the question, do you ever feel bad for Hank? And I said, no, absolutely not. He has a top 1% life. The real answer is you have like a top 0.01% life. And today just went exactly how you would have dreamed.
Starting point is 01:10:25 If you could have dreamed up today, you basically hit every mark. Yes. The Jets losing is the only thing that you missed out on. No, but it's kind of nice to have them like riding a little high. Okay. Crush their souls that much more. Oh, you're playing them next week? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:38 Oh, so yeah, that's... So you actually did get every single thing you wanted today. No, I want my boys to win. Max Homer didn't win. I want my boys to win. Max Holman did not win. You did not win. Max did not win.
Starting point is 01:10:53 PFT did not win. He didn't lose, but he didn't win. Yeah. No, I lost. That's a loss. Did you, can you, Max, can you pull up the stat that part of my take tweeted as well? But go ahead.
Starting point is 01:11:04 Keep going. As a, again, like a producer of the show. and caring about the listeners. Yeah. I can take some solace in the fact that those bad things happen to you guys. And it's good for the show. Yeah. They didn't happen to you.
Starting point is 01:11:18 You care about listens? But if it were up to me, like, we'd all win together. Do you think that people tune in more when you, when you have a bad day? No. Okay. They want you guys. They care about you guys more and they care more when you guys lose. So they love you and they hate us?
Starting point is 01:11:34 No, I don't, I think they don't care about me as much as they care about. about you guys and they enjoy it when you guys lose that much more. Okay. Yeah. Drake May was really, really good. Phnominal. Was it laffer of a game? PFT, I know.
Starting point is 01:11:51 Well, actually, I should ask Max, because Max, you're Glenn. He's the only one that Glenn follows. I don't know if he's actually Glenn or not, but the, you know, things add up. So stats that, uh, stats since Glenn Tape Scout ridiculed Drake May week three. Drake May, 643 passing yards, eight touchdown, 79 rush yards, one turn. Now, I'm not a big Glenn fan. And the turnover was like a comic book turnover. Was that the blood ball?
Starting point is 01:12:15 No, because I'm not a big Glenn fan, and he doesn't like me. We've all heard him say that. But I should come in to kind of set the facts straight on this because Glenn did his first video after week one. Oh. After the Seahawks game. Oh, okay. So it's really seven touchdowns and four interceptions. Oh, so this is a wrong stat.
Starting point is 01:12:35 It's an completely incorrect stat, yeah. Meems. You led the people wrong. But you didn't do any real correction until Jacksonville. What do you mean? If the defenders didn't have any arms. Yeah. That's when Glenn got critical.
Starting point is 01:12:48 It also wasn't PFT. No, no. I'm sorry, Glenn. Glenn was critical week one when he was like, look at these wide open guys that he missed. Yeah, he's still running. I'm on PFT's side here. That was correction number one. That was after week one.
Starting point is 01:13:01 And then after week two, I think he said that ball got tipped, actually. The interception in the Steelers game. The ball got tipped. And so here's what it looks like if there's no arms on any of the Jaguars players. Then after week three, when he lost the Jaguars, it was, was that, oh, look how much better Tommy DeVito is. And then after that, it was maybe Drake May and Tommy DeVito switch places. Also look at Drake May run over this poor bastard on the sidelines. Either way, Glenn's got his work cut out for him this week because Drake May was pretty much perfect.
Starting point is 01:13:38 Yeah, Bessie's looked, Bessie's looked this year by far. Bessie's looked maybe ever in a Patriots uniform. No Matt Collins, no A.G. Brown, no problem. Doesn't matter. Will Campbell, and Trayvion and Henderson got hurt in like 30 seconds back to back. That wasn't good. Will Campbell, like, I think it's his knee, hopefully just a sprain. And then Trayvion and Henderson, like, hurt his ankle that he hurt early in the year.
Starting point is 01:14:04 That was what he missed time for? So that's not good. But other than that, it was like the best game you could possibly ask for. They honored the 2001 team before. They're wearing the red jerseys. Just beautiful. Just a beautiful day in New England. Vittary was there?
Starting point is 01:14:17 Yeah. All the boys were there. Yeah. He was, I'll say this. Drake made, this is probably the best game that any quarterback has played this season. He was perfect. Yeah. He was perfect.
Starting point is 01:14:27 The deep ball was magical. Everything was great. He played awesome. I have absolutely zero criticism of Drake May this week. He was, he looked like if he played. plays like this, he is the MVP. Yeah. The vision runs through us. Yeah. Is there a butt?
Starting point is 01:14:42 No. I mean, we can move on to some other stats. Please. Okay, so the Raiders, tough break for the Raiders. Best defense in football. They're leading the leading league in takeaways. Yeah. That was impressive. For the Raiders looking at, you know, their wins, they're three and two now, right? Yeah. And their three wins have come against teams with a combined one win.
Starting point is 01:15:04 So, but hey, you are what your record says you are. were three in one going in here and um drake made looked awesome fantastic yeah perfect better than perfect yeah uh do they do you think the patriots had a little extra fuel knowing that they were beating tom brady probably yeah like a big fuck you tom yeah about that but they did beat tom brady's team today yeah it's true uh they and josh mcdaniel got his revenge that's true revenge game for him i uh listen i I went in, one of the fantasy quarter questions was talking about the Raiders. I think the Raiders are like, for real, not, I said they're not maybe going to go to the playoffs, but for real in the fact that they're going to hang around.
Starting point is 01:15:49 And they got absolutely killed today. I do have a new gambling rule. I'd like to throw out there to everyone. I think we just can't bet Kirk Cousins outdoors anymore. I think he's an indoor cat. He looked significantly older today outdoors. So that has nothing to do with the fact that the Patriots just killed them. The Raiders defense couldn't do anything.
Starting point is 01:16:11 Didn't get any pressure. Like you were waiting for Max Crosby to start wrecking the game. I think Drake May had like two got pressure twice in the first half. So the line was blocking very well. But yeah, I think Kirk Cousin, I think I'm just, it's, it's, you know, you get to a point where it's like, hey, you can't go outside. There's scary things outside. There's rain.
Starting point is 01:16:30 There's, you know, turf. Technology scares you know. Yeah. Yeah. Like, let's just stay in. inside, okay? Let's, you know, we don't want to elderly dog or cat going and getting eaten by a coyote. Let's just stay inside, Kirk. We're going to do inside bets only. He's better if he, you know, if he sleeps in his own bed. Yeah. And he wakes up and he has his meal that he knows,
Starting point is 01:16:50 sits well in his stomach. He just looks older. He drives the same way to work. Yeah. He's a man of routine. So yeah. No, I agree with that. He, um, he didn't look great today. Mendoza got in for a little bit and looked all right. I guess he was six for eight, 48 yards, was five for five on his first five passes. But yeah, I mean, the Patriots just played pretty much perfect football. They killed them. And they did it minus a lot of their starters. It was a laffer. It was a laffer. Hank, I mean, as much as I know you're pointing a lot of fingers at Glenn, but I'm not. I, you brought him up. No, false. I think I did. A big cat brought him up. Yeah. Okay. Well, I'm a, I'm a glentelman. I saw a lot of people, like, was it you or was it Gaz that was tweeting about Glenn?
Starting point is 01:17:32 I said I can't wait to watch Glenn Tapewatch this week. Oh, so you are, yeah, you are thinking about. So you're a Gentalman now? No, but this week I will be. Okay. You're one week only. You're getting the one week pass? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:43 Do you have, sorry? Max, do they have a pass just if you want to be a Glenn Tapewatch guy for one week only? Is there like, is like 99? Oh, yeah. This wasn't me that said suck my dick PFT commenter and Glenn Tapewatch. that was gas. I was gas. Gass and Hank are just one of the same.
Starting point is 01:18:01 Yeah. That's actually fair. Like a lot of people think that Max is Glenn. A lot of people think that Gazz is Hank. I haven't seen... One heartbeat. I haven't seen Gass and Hank in the same room together. No, neither have I.
Starting point is 01:18:12 Never. Do you have anything else on the game? Not real. I mean, there was, it was like a boring, fantastic watch. It was, the Raiders can't run the ball. I feel like the Raiders, for Clint Kubiak to run his offense, they have to be able to run the ball. They could not run the ball today. They haven't been able to run the ball all season, and it was very, like, the Patriots just stuffed them.
Starting point is 01:18:31 Like, thinking about this team with A.J. Brown back. Matt Collins back. Christian Gonzalez back. It's exciting. It's exciting times. You're getting excited. Yeah. When is Christian Gonzalez getting back? I'm not sure. Because that's a big loss. Yeah. But you guys obviously didn't need them at all today. No. And not next week either. Against the Jets. So you are over, you're overlooking the Jets. That was Bolton board bootjero. memes. You're willingly, you're openly overlooking the Jets.
Starting point is 01:19:00 It's the Jets. Wow. It's the Jets. Wow. It's the Jets. Okay. Memes, do you have a response? You're my bitch.
Starting point is 01:19:10 Oh. You'll be his bitch? Hold my pocket. I don't know what I don't know what I'll do, but... I think you have to be Mimes' as servant all week. You have to be Meebs' bitch. He has to be able to use every one of your holes. All of them.
Starting point is 01:19:24 Okay. He could just be like mouth. But, ear you just got to produce the holes okay wow all right do you're that confident yes the jet who's line is it anyway
Starting point is 01:19:39 what's the what's the line I have no idea where's the game I looked at it it's in new England uh Patriots seven and a half eight and a half Henry I know what it is what is it seven seven okay are you gonna be taking that
Starting point is 01:19:55 minus seven yeah Probably alternate line, minus 15. Listen, I don't know why Hank, AKA, Gazz, is upset with me. I bet on the Patriots the last two weeks ever since you turned it around. I know. I love that. I'm happy for you.
Starting point is 01:20:12 I'm a belief. I'm happy for us. Yeah. I'm not maddie. I don't know what I've said today that has made you think that I'm mad of you. I don't think you're mad at me. I thought that you were mad. I thought that you were mad at Glenn.
Starting point is 01:20:25 Am I going crazy or did like five seconds ago? You said, I don't know why Hank is mad at me. Okay, I was mixing you up with with gas Got it, yeah, got it Gass, different guys Retweets are not endorsements Is that in your bio? Uh, no
Starting point is 01:20:42 It's in mine After that Mount Rush for a controversy last year Had to put it in there Okay, hey, you'll for George If you have anything else in this game It was just, yeah, it was, it was an absolute ass kicking And I do think the Raiders are like not bad I mean, they just played the Chiefs to a game where they could have beaten the Chiefs.
Starting point is 01:21:02 So it's not, I'm not going to say they were the Raiders from last year. That was just an ass kicking. It's hard to win in this league by a lot and they kick their ass. This team healthy can beat anyone. Have you watched any other film breakdowns that point to like maybe why Drake May is, because he looks like a different player than he did a couple weeks ago? In the last two hours? Or just in the last week or so, yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:26 Because he looked great last week too. I have not, no. All right. I'm just curious, like, what changes have been made because he looks... I think he's getting more time to throw the ball. Yeah, no, their protection was great.
Starting point is 01:21:38 Okay. Steelers 34, Colts 22. Aaron Rogers might be back. He didn't do the air yards. The air yards were still low, but Aaron Rogers threw for three touchdowns. He's three straight games where he's had three or more touchdowns.
Starting point is 01:21:57 for the first time since 2021 when he won the MVP. He might be back. He was smiling. Yeah. Jalen Warren was phenomenal. He was incredible. Like 80-yard touchdown catch, 50-yard touchdown run, 188 total yards.
Starting point is 01:22:13 Steelers' offense had a little pop to it. The last running back to have an 80-yard touchdown reception and a 50-yard touchdown run in the same game was Ambassador Herschel Walker. Oh, wow. I believe 1986. Okay. Did that. It was an awesome, awesome day for him.
Starting point is 01:22:28 Yep. Dernel Washington also had a great game. There was one play where one guy just grabbed onto his foot and then five other guys came and tried to tackle him and then eventually the refs just had to blow the whistle before he was tackled. That was awesome. And then he had the block of the day where he blocked a guy into another guy and then blocked that second guy into a third guy.
Starting point is 01:22:48 And that's how it sprung Jalen Warren. Love that. For the touchdown. Yeah. The Colts, the story for this game for the Colts was they just could not do anything in the red zone. they had three field goals inside the pit 25, including one at the 10 and one at the four.
Starting point is 01:23:02 It's just like they would move the ball and then got stuck. Jonathan Taylor. Oh, Michael Pennix interception. Michael Penning's interception, Ravens. It was Tua. Oh, that was Tua. Oh, that's very funny. Wait, did Michael Pettix not come back?
Starting point is 01:23:18 He came back in and then he did. And then he came back out? He got his shit rocked on that sack. Wow. Tua. You knew he had it in him. Yep. Just when we doubted Tua. That was gritty. That was a gritty win. Yeah, that was.
Starting point is 01:23:34 Snoop. All right. Back to, we'll talk about this game afterwards. So, yeah, the Colts just couldn't score in the red zone. I don't really know what to make of the Colts. I also don't understand. I'm pretty sure that the league lets you take a buy week if you want after playing overseas. Yeah. And you can elect to take it or not.
Starting point is 01:23:56 I don't understand why teams don't take it. no matter what. Because the record is better. Oh, yeah, that's right. But it makes sense. On the road, too, though? Yeah, on the road is different, too. And I think that it depends where you play.
Starting point is 01:24:10 Like, obviously, if I had my choice and I played in, like, Australia, I'd be like, yeah, give me that bye week. Right. I don't think anyone, obviously, you can't get a buy week, week too. But I think, yeah, they leave it up to the teams. Teams are better if they don't take them. I don't know. Yeah. But, yeah, I don't really know what to make it the Colts like.
Starting point is 01:24:26 They can. They desperately need. They desperately need Alec Pierce. Yeah, which I don't... That changes the entire offense when they have a legitimate, really, really strong downfield threat and without him, the offense looks much different. Yeah, I'd agree with that. And also, Daniel Jones was...
Starting point is 01:24:40 He leads the league in throwing bombs that just go like 10 yards over someone's head out about. So they don't get... They're not getting intercepted. Right. They're just not even close. Right. And Jeremy Bernard was awesome.
Starting point is 01:24:52 He, like, because that was the thing with Rogers today. He played well. he looked young and he also like uh who went out roman wilson went out and i think someone else has been out so that he was throwing to you know like there's a lot of friar mooth a lot of jeremy bernard i don't know steelers steelers are a better team my big conclusion from this game is the steelers are a better team than the colts obviously they beat him and i still don't think the steelers are a threat to anyone in the AFC. So Aaron Rogers threw his 5801th career
Starting point is 01:25:29 touchdown. Eighty-first career touchdown. Eighty-oneth career touchdown. That makes him third all time now. Put him above Peyton Manning. Yep. And also the first Steelers quarterback to throw for three touchdowns three weeks in a row since Terry Bradshaw back in the day. So this is as explosive as we've seen the Steelers' offense in a very, very long time. Yeah, and I think the Steelers are just going to do
Starting point is 01:25:52 this. We're going to go week to week their offense definitely has more pop than it did last year. Their defense probably isn't as good, although their defense stood up strong in the red zone, and the Steelers are going to win nine or ten games and probably losing the playoffs. They might win a playoff game again. They might win a playoff game.
Starting point is 01:26:08 Happy birthday to T.J. Watt. Yes. He got poked in the eye. Yes. Came back in. My theory was that he got hit on his nose, and then he acted like it hit his eyes so he could go to the sidelines and be allowed to put the visor on.
Starting point is 01:26:21 That's what I would do if I was an NFL player. The visor looked cool. Yeah, every play, I'd just be like, oh, my eye, let me put on this sick visor. Who do the Colts play next? Shane Steichen, he's a big, you were talking about it, Max, the Nick Siriani looking in mirrors. Shane Steikin's a big, I got to do better. Well, they get the Titans next week. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:26:41 So they're good. Yep. So Colts will be back. I'm in on Shane, I'm in on Shane Steichen. Oh, you want Shane Steichen? I would love it. You want him back? Shane's sikein was good.
Starting point is 01:26:52 Yeah. Yeah. He was a good coordinator for the Eagles. I don't think that Shane Steichen is the problem for the Colts. But he... And it's not like they're a terrible team. Yeah, no. They're an average team.
Starting point is 01:27:04 But the problem is being an average team in the AFC is... Being an average team in the NFC could get you in the playoffs. Being an average team in the AFC is going to be very difficult. We were deep-throat in the guy for the first eight weeks of last year. The Colts looked awesome through eight weeks last year. So I think he's a good coach. There's some other things around him. I don't think are optimal.
Starting point is 01:27:24 They get the Titans next week. Yeah. So it's a by week. And Jalen Warren, the big story is Jailen Warren deserves more respect. It's not like an aberration. He's just good. And he's got, uh,
Starting point is 01:27:35 he's got some juice to him where he gets the ball. He's, he's elusive. And it's, it's fun to watch. Which is always a jarring thing in a Steelers uniform. Okay. Memes. Jets, 17, Browns 12. The Browns fell under the trap game.
Starting point is 01:27:55 Dude, the Brown, the Browns are brown. And they browned. Browns out browned the jets jetting. Yeah. If that makes any sense. Dom, my assistant. So remember he said this is avoid the trap game. I told him afterwards you fell in the trap and he said, no, we didn't.
Starting point is 01:28:11 We got beat by rain. Yeah, they lost. The rain wasn't part of the deal. The Browns lost. Yeah. How come every time the Browns play the jets in the Meadowlands, it's just the worst possible weather? A bunch of players were saying that today. do that it just only rains on Sundays in New Jersey.
Starting point is 01:28:30 Yeah. I have a question for you, Mims. Yes, sir. Where, so you beat the Browns. Where would you say this ranks in terms of Jets wins? I know where you're going with this. So where would you personally say this is, Hank, you're going to want to listen to this, but I'm listening.
Starting point is 01:28:48 Where would you say it ranks? Historically, I'd say it's one of the biggest. Okay. Yeah, because DeMario Davis said, I would go as far as to say this was a historic win for this organization. It could be. It could never lose. They could never lose again.
Starting point is 01:29:05 Should actually say that after every game because you never know where it's going to go. This could be a historic podcast. I think it is. Yeah. No, I'm saying this episode. Maybe. No, but we don't know where it's going. What if we all die tomorrow?
Starting point is 01:29:21 That would make this historic. That's true. Something to think about. that's kind of what to Mario Davis is going for. He's like, I'm going to make a bet the Jets, we're going to win the Super Bowl this year, and I'm going to say this win is historic. Well, he's right to a certain extent,
Starting point is 01:29:36 because, like, historically, they lose that game every single time. Yeah, yeah. Like, Gino Smith fumbling at the 50, like, Browns get that, go get a touchdown, but, like, they didn't. It was the Browns. Yeah, well, it was, yeah. But it's 3 and 1.
Starting point is 01:29:50 That was, that's true, three and one team put some respect on them. They just won the game of the century. less than 10 days ago. Yeah, the sequence of the Browns up 1210, getting the fumble with four minutes left, being like the Browns are going to win this game. They're going to, you know, that pass.
Starting point is 01:30:12 Who is that to Denzel Boston? That was a nice pass from Deshaun Watson. Their offense kind of woke up at the end. So you're like, all right, the Browns have the ball. Games over. They just got the ball. They're just going to, you know, run the ball. They go three and out.
Starting point is 01:30:26 and then just skyed over Bajorke's his head, and the Jets win the game. Braylin Allen. Braylon Allen was awesome. Yeah, they should have just been going to him the entire time. When they played the Packers, they didn't run the ball enough, and even today they didn't run the ball enough. Like, Aaron Glenn figured out on defense how to call a game in the rain.
Starting point is 01:30:48 It's just blitz, nonstop. But, like, Frank Reich still hasn't. But they squeaked one out. Yeah, BFD. Yeah. Yeah, memes, I have a question for you about certain things that some Browns fans have been saying regarding Minka Fitzpatrick. Yes. Is he a dirty player?
Starting point is 01:31:04 Or does he just hate the Browns? I don't believe so. I think he just hates Browns. He had this one hit against Concepcion. Looked to be helmet to helmet. Now granted, Concepcion kind of like ducked his head as he turned. I don't know that Minku was going for his head. But there's a history.
Starting point is 01:31:22 I guess he also took out Nick Chub too. That's what they were saying. That was a clean hit. Like, what was he supposed to do? Not hit him. Which one? Today. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:33 I think that it was like a bang, bang play where receiver kind of moved his head kind of into the strike zone. Yeah, that was just a football hit. It was bad, though. Like, it was a bad concussion. I don't want to say get your weight up, but, like, he should get his weight up. Oh, okay. All right. Okay.
Starting point is 01:31:51 I agree with you memes that Aaron Glenn called a great game. Blitz the fuck out of him. David Bailey was awesome. I feel like every time we looked up, he was either chasing, he was either getting a sack, getting a pressure, or Deshawn was trying to scramble
Starting point is 01:32:06 and he was like running him down. He was sick. Yeah, David Bailey is awesome. He's been getting some slack online and he also hasn't seen that because I don't think he has internet, which is awesome. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:18 So it was just a really good bounce back week from him. Yeah. There's, on the other side of town, there's Arvel Reese, who's been popping off. So people are saying David Bailey might have been a miss. But today was a phenomenal bounceback.
Starting point is 01:32:31 Yeah, he had three sacks, nine pressures. Like you said, Aaron Glenn blitz the fuck out of the Browns, which was the smart game plan, especially when Concepcion went out. And by the way, I know this is a meatball thing, but Isaiah Bond,
Starting point is 01:32:46 you have to put on gloves when you keep dropping the ball in the rain. You cannot just, you cannot beat, it's same with Camp Scoutaboo, with the football. You cannot be the guy without gloves on in the rain and fuck it up. If you catch everything and you have no gloves on, fine. The minute you drop one pass and you have no gloves on, you got to put the gloves on immediately. You just can't. You
Starting point is 01:33:09 can't be seen like that. It's too easy, too easy to point out. Yeah. Yeah. It's just so easy. My favorite drive of the week was in this game. It was a five-play drive by the Browns. It was after a kickoff in the fourth quarter, Jets were leading 10 to 6. and it went in completion, 30-yard completion, five-yard penalty, sack for minus 10 yards, five-yard penalty, in completion, sack for minus eight yards, punt. It was a five-play drive two minutes, 29 seconds, with a 30-yard completion that gained two yards before the punt.
Starting point is 01:33:48 Browns out-browns out-jetted the Jets. Is that what you said? Yeah, I'm trying to find a better way to say it. The Browns... The Browns Chargered despite the Jets falconing. Correct. Okay. Well, no, the Jets didn't have big enough lead to Falcon.
Starting point is 01:34:11 It was a close game throughout. Yeah, I'm trying to figure out a different way to put it. I think that's pretty clear. I think it's just the Browns's Browning was stronger than the Jets jetting today. Yes. That's like it was, yeah, their force was stronger. and Braylon Allen and Garrett Wilson they had 220
Starting point is 01:34:30 of the 276 yards the Jets had on offense today they were awesome Yeah that first job was sick I thought we were gonna score a million points I did too I did too So are we pumping the brakes on Todd Munkin to the Hall of Fame? Yeah I never put him in the Hall of Fame
Starting point is 01:34:44 I would say we're good for right now I had him in the Hall of Fame yeah yeah I think he dropped a fricking the oh yeah he said we all got to take a big freaking bite out of this because it's not good enough I love that I love it. Also, apparently there's another
Starting point is 01:34:59 TV show about the Browns. About a fictional Browns team. Okay. It's Christopher Maloney from Law and Order. They're like, she's 18, you sick fuck. You know that guy? I guess he plays the head coach of the Browns. Oh.
Starting point is 01:35:12 In a show that's just coming out right now. I think it's called The Land. Bell Cleveland? Yeah, and his son is like the Ohio State quarterback. That's pretty cool. And he tries to draft his son. What was that noise, Hank? Who watches a show about Cleveland?
Starting point is 01:35:28 Hank. You watch Draft Day? TV show. Hey. Roger Goodell's in it. All your favorites. Hank, we had a nice time in Cleveland that one time we went. Can I make a confession?
Starting point is 01:35:36 I've been a bunch of times. Remember that one time we went? We walked around. It was a beautiful sunny day. It was the Jake Paul fight. I was there. I mean, how are you going to have? I had a great time.
Starting point is 01:35:47 If there's one team. I've never seen draft. To have Christopher Maloney. What? From Law and Order played coach up. We've talked about it on this show. TFT. So.
Starting point is 01:35:55 many times. I'm just thinking about the scene with him and Deshawn Watson. How's that going to go? No, you missed what Hank said. Oh, sorry, I was just locked in on that fantasy. Ooh, Mandy Moore. Hank, say it again. There's too many conversations. I agree, but we've got to focus on what Hank just tried to reveal to us.
Starting point is 01:36:12 I've been holding this in for a long time. I probably should have just done it at some point. I've never seen draft day. I think you have homework. Yeah, you got to see it. You got to see draft day, Hank. It's so good. You're not missing. much. Oh. Whoa. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:36:27 It's fucked up. Draft Day is an excellent film. Excellent film. And I've never said that it would be one of the worst movies ever made if it didn't have official NFL logos in it. I've never said that. But because it does... You hate Aaron. You hate Aaron. Yeah, you do Harry. I love Aaron. He's in it. It's also like wild. He plays one of the main characters.
Starting point is 01:36:45 It's wildly fictional too, because it's the Wisconsin quarterback's going one over all. And also the Cleveland Brown's having a functional front office. They do, they fucking hosed the Jaguars in that movie. Yeah, big time. That GM, they should fight him on the... Wait, don't spoil. He's got to watch.
Starting point is 01:37:00 Yeah, you should watch it. You got to watch. Memes. Next week, what are you thinking? After a historic win? After a historic win, season's back on. If you win the game, you're 3 and 3. The Patriots are 3 and 3. You control your own destiny in the division. Wow.
Starting point is 01:37:19 Factor fiction. The amount that Hank is like considering the Jets as a worthy adversary is less than zero. Welcome to this podcast. Yeah, no, I know. It's like. If I'm speaking freely, we don't go in there and win. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:37 Ever. But now. And we stay. But now Ben Johnson's your coach. Ben Johnson is our coach. But like, yeah, you got all Ben Johnson's powers.
Starting point is 01:37:47 Eric Glenn doing the flag, the red flag, the challenge flag was very funny. Yeah. All time gift. I love him. I know some Jeff fans won't like that. I love him. I think he might be turning the corner. I mean, Dan Campbell didn't do it in one year.
Starting point is 01:38:02 Yeah, that's true. There's a lot of comparisons to him. Yeah. He called a great game today. He's building the culture. The 2022 lines they serve, what, one and seven? Yeah. They're really bad.
Starting point is 01:38:15 Really finished nine and eight. Yeah. So, things might be turning. Okay. Next up, Bengals 31. Dolphins 24 What? What was that?
Starting point is 01:38:28 They basically lost, they gave the game away. They got lucky because it was the Browns. If they had lost the game, which they should have lost the game, it would not be things have turned the corner. You're only saying that because
Starting point is 01:38:40 at the end of the day, they won. Correct. But like, they didn't play good. No, I know, but like the, I think the results. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:51 It was a defense play good. You know what? It was a torrential down. You just need to let people enjoy Gale Force wins. Let memes enjoy this. You guys are to be able to settle it on the field. I agree.
Starting point is 01:39:02 That game sucked. I wasted three hours watching that shit. There was two good drives, and one of them was half a drive, which was at the end of the game. That was the Brail and Allen touched out. Yeah, it was a Braille and Allen run. And that was it.
Starting point is 01:39:14 And the first drive of the game. Yeah, and the first drive of the game. Everything in between was dog shit. Then they never went back to Garrett Wilson. Or as I called some Garrett Allen. Well, yeah, the Browns made adjustments, which is smart. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:25 But everybody is coming back next week. Everyone. Everyone. Who? Omar Cooper, Bruce Hall. Oh, that's actually good. Left Guard.
Starting point is 01:39:33 Adonai Mitchell. We're coming. They're coming. They're probably right now sitting at home. Listen to Hank. This is bulletin board material for their ears. Bring it. You just call them Adnan Mitchell?
Starting point is 01:39:44 Adnai. Like the guy from cereal? I'm going to put the jets in my hunger dog. Is that he still in jail? Yeah, I think so. Oh, because you imagine. And on Syed? Yeah, did the woman ever say that she was in love?
Starting point is 01:39:57 Yeah, she was clearly in love with them. Yeah. What were you going to say, me? It's like, can you imagine if they win next week? That. Emergency pot. Crazy. Hey, he's just, he's still, he's still, it's eye rolling.
Starting point is 01:40:10 It's literally like saying. What is it an emergency pod? Like, we, every, that's, every Sunday. You're saying, imagine if the Jets. Hank is treating it like someone's saying, imagine if the sun didn't rise tomorrow. Yeah, we'd be in trouble. How bad would it be if the Jets beat you? Horrible.
Starting point is 01:40:29 Season's over. Oh. So you'd have to... Done with the season. Mentally. Like tank? Yeah. Change the name, change everything.
Starting point is 01:40:42 And you'd be his bitch for a week. Yeah. It's a franchise. Oh, no, no, no. It would be longer. Well, until you played again. No. Oh. Winning in Foxborough.
Starting point is 01:40:51 But then he would come... potentially win in Jersey. Yeah, but we stink. Okay. All right. Bengel's 31, Dolphins 24. Ass kicking. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:41:02 I'll say that the dolphins, Nikki smokes, our coworker who's a Dolphins fan, he did point out that they're not the worst 0-and-4 team, and then we're like, or he said they're the best O'N-4 team. Yeah. And then we're like,
Starting point is 01:41:14 what about the Texans? The Texans were about to win their first game. He's like, well, they weren't supposed to be O'N-4. And he's like, what about the Chargers? like, well, they weren't supposed to be on four. So he's basically saying the dolphins are better than Titans. I agree.
Starting point is 01:41:26 Yeah, he's right. He's right. They're the only true good O and five team. Right? They're tanking perfectly. They have a lot of young talent. The young talent plays hard. Ethical.
Starting point is 01:41:38 Their coach seems to know what he's doing generally. And Malik Willis is just not very good. Well, is Malik Willis not good? Or was he just tipping pitches? Maybe he was tipping pitches. Because battle, like publicly. before the game said, yeah, he's got to tell. Here's what his tell is.
Starting point is 01:41:57 We're watching that. We're going to be able to get the jump on him. Wow. And then that's exactly what he did. I think he had two picks on Willis. He had two, yeah, he had, or do you have one interception? I think he had one, but the Malik Willis threw more interceptions than completions
Starting point is 01:42:14 with one minute left in the first half. He had more interceptions than completions. So he had one completion going into half time there. Oh, yeah, yeah, battle picked him off on back-to-back drives in the second quarter. Yeah, so he did have a tell. So maybe just we fix that and then we fix the dolphins. The Bengals are going into the buy for the first time with a winning record since 2022.
Starting point is 01:42:37 I know their buy has changed where it's been, but good for the Bengals. I still think they have to figure out how to run the ball because you saw it at the end of the game. The dolphins had an all-time backdoor cover in this game, or backdoor push. Should have been a back-door cover, missed the extra point. So that was basically our big witching hour gambling switch that was happening. And so that to me is like watching that game, the Bengals just, they couldn't, they couldn't fully put the dolphins away just because they couldn't just get first downs running the ball. Jamar Chase also made just an insane, insane touchdown catch.
Starting point is 01:43:12 He's, he's so good. Yeah, he's very back. Yeah. So I think the Bengals are in a good spot going in the by. Then they have the Ravens. So the big, big, like, test on what the Bengals are. The Bengals, they're crazy healthy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:43:28 This is like the good, you know what? I'm going to stop talking because I feel like if I say anything else, it's a big time jinks of them. So I'm just going to say it's nice to see the Bengals playing with their best players. Yeah. They're very good. Joe Burr got a little. I think he's kind of like, they didn't like the media anymore. I don't like this.
Starting point is 01:43:45 The reporter asked how hot was it? He said, I don't know. I'm sure you can check the weather report, man. I like that response. It says like Bart Simpson. I mean, it is true. Like, there's a temperature on your phone. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:43:57 So asking Joe Burrow after the game, how hot was it? It is a pretty big waste of your question. Yeah, why don't you look at the weather channel, man? Yeah. Check out the weather channel. All right, let's keep moving. Because these are the non-competitive games that we saw. Next non-competitive game, Vikings 23 Saints 13.
Starting point is 01:44:16 Big stories, the Vikings' offense looked good for the first time this season. Kyler looks good. He started the game 12 for 12. Was running. So cute running. Justice Jefferson made an insane catch, touchdown catch. And the Vikings defense had Tyler Shuck in absolute hell. Our boy's going through it, Max.
Starting point is 01:44:35 He's going through it. Yeah. It was not good. But hey, listen, he's still a young quarterback. You got to go through some adversity at this point in your career. It's all about how he bounces back. That's true. did I read right that Flores blitz 90% of the time today?
Starting point is 01:44:54 I don't think so. I think he blitz 61% of the time? Yeah. The Vikings defense is so good. You want some crazy Vikings defense stats? Let's see. I had them all written down. Hold on.
Starting point is 01:45:09 I got to pull them up. The Vikings, hold on. Oh, there was some Call and Moore bad stats. Calamore's got to figure it out. He's coached. 22 games for the Saints. They have one first quarter lead, four first half leads. They start every game slow.
Starting point is 01:45:28 It's crazy watching them start these games. It just, they just keep putting themselves in holes. And when you're playing a team like the Vikings, you got no chance of getting out of that hole because they're so fucking good. Oh, here it is. The Vikings defense has allowed three touchdowns since halftime of the opener. That's four and a half games. they've allowed three touchdowns, three touchdowns.
Starting point is 01:45:53 Opposing offenses, third down conversions against the Minnesota Vikings defense this year. 14 for 63, 22%. That's insane. 22% teams are converting on third down against the Vikings defense. They are so good. And Kyler, again, played really well. So now you see like the full picture. It's like, oh, shit, this team could be very scary if they're off.
Starting point is 01:46:18 offense comes along. And I think even Addison went out. Hawkinson got a concussion. So it was basically just throwing it up to Justin Jefferson. I don't know, man. That's, that was impressive. They, they had the Saints in absolute hell. Yeah, there was one moment where it looked like things were turned around for the Saints. Chase Young got that fumble, ran back with it. And it was like, oh, well, it might be frisky. And then absolutely nothing. It's just been a couple weeks of terrible vibes in the dome. Yeah. Bad times in the dome.
Starting point is 01:46:49 Shuck said, I'd boo too. Like, he understands. Like, that sucks. Mm-hmm. Yeah, he was lost. On Drew Brees night. Today was Drew Brees. It was Drew Brees night tonight.
Starting point is 01:46:59 Whoa. So they inducted him to the Ring of Honor in the dome, which I was kind of surprised that he wasn't already. But I guess they were like, maybe he'll come back. Maybe that's when it's real. That's when it's like we're not, we're not ever getting retired. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:10 Yeah. But yeah, I was impressed. Kyler looking good scared me. He ran the ball well, too, today. He ran it 10 times for 51 yards. And again, he looks so cute running. But when Kyler starts to run, now it's like, uh-oh, he might be feeling. I think it was his best game.
Starting point is 01:47:25 I saw the stats since like 2024. He's getting used to it. Yeah. He's getting used to being back out there. Okay. Last game from the early sleep. Texans 26 Titans 3. I feel like we just don't have to talk about the Titans anymore, right?
Starting point is 01:47:40 The only note I had here was I feel like it was kind of fucked up of D'Amico Ryan to pick this is. the game that he was taking back control of defensive play calling. That's such a layup. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? He's like, yeah, we, I, he's like, I need to get back in charge of the defense. Oh, shit, we're playing the Titans.
Starting point is 01:47:58 Okay, I guess I'll do it for this week. Well, yeah, it's a really easy one. It's a really easy one for it. Today was just a great day for him. He's like, I'm going to get to call the plays against this defense. And then afterwards, I'm going to go to the podium. And I'm going to talk about how we just got Marvin Harrison. So let's talk about the Marvin Harrison thing, because Adam Schiff,
Starting point is 01:48:15 one of the weirdest tweets on, what was it, Saturday morning? When he's like, Marvin Harrison has been traded. Yeah. But just didn't say where? And he very, he's been doing this for a couple years, Big Cat. He knows that some people have notifications on for his tweets. And he knows exactly where they cut off.
Starting point is 01:48:36 And so on the notification has been traded and then dot, dot, dot. Yeah. Then you open it up and it's just like, that's the end of the story. So we got a lot of things. We write this down, Zach, because we got a lot of things. We've got to talk to Adam Schaefter about when we see him at the combine. Yeah, he reported, what was the initial tweet? It was Saturday morning.
Starting point is 01:48:56 Yeah, I'm looking for it. It was so weird. But I will say maybe, here it is, breaking the Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a deal to trade. Marvin Harrison sources tell me in rap sheet, the team informed Harrison this morning that he would be inactive for Sunday's game versus Detroit. as details of the trade are finalized. Just nothing about where. Nothing. So I have a question for you guys.
Starting point is 01:49:22 Were the Titans or the, sorry, the Texans, basically like, hey, we're going to trade for Marvin Harrison if we beat the Titans. Like, we're 0 and 4. If we can't beat the Titans, the season's over. We can't be taking this on. Yeah, right. When we beat the Titans, we'll then do the trade. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:49:42 I think that's what happened, right? I think that's exactly what happened. That's so funny. And yeah, because, and they're not wrong. Yeah, no, they're like, if they'd lost the Titans, they should pack it up. Right. They were like, we got to test this thing out. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:49:55 Like, let's just make sure that we're not really, really bad. As soon as we get the answer, we'll let you know, we'll do the trade. Yep. And that's not what happened. That's. I also, am I crazy? I think I'm just a sucker for, like, you know, rekindling. But CJ Stroud and Marvin Harrison, I think it's going to work.
Starting point is 01:50:13 I think, and you know what, it's Columbus Day. Two Buckeyes getting back together. Yep. See, his trout looks good. I mean, he hit seven guys had at least two catches. Oh, I had one Titans thing. Cam Ward, I mean, I'm done with Cam Ward. Here's the stat that sums up why I'm done with Cam Ward.
Starting point is 01:50:33 He had in the first half, he had zero passes completed over 10 air yards, but he also had two pass attempts under two and a half seconds. So he's holding on to the ball and still not throwing it deep. Yeah. It's terrible to watch. Yeah. So here's one good thing for the Titans. Last year, the Titans played against the Texans and they lost 26 to nothing.
Starting point is 01:50:58 This year, 26 to 3. Okay. So it's improvement. Okay. Salah also called the Texans the best O'N4 team in NFL history. Okay. So there's that. Which we'll have to go through the all-time rankings and get back to him on what that
Starting point is 01:51:13 is. Yeah. By the way, there's... He's also not benching Cambord. He said he's a starter. Okay.
Starting point is 01:51:18 That's good. The history of top five overall draft picks traded within the first three seasons. Not exactly great. So, Trey Lance, Trent Richardson, Aaron Curry, remember him,
Starting point is 01:51:29 Wake Forest? Mm-hmm. And by the way, Aaron Curry was the one thing everyone said about him. This is the safest pick that you will ever see made in the top time. Yep.
Starting point is 01:51:39 Yep. And then Gaines Adams. Those are all the, the, the four that have happened in the last 25 years. So maybe C.J. Stroud and Marvin Harrison back together will do it. I do think that this could be, I don't know, because I'm of the mindset that Marvin Harrison Jr. didn't forget how to play wide receiver.
Starting point is 01:51:58 Because he was, it didn't look like that when he was in college. You know what doesn't help him either? The fact that Jeremiah Smith is so good. That's true. Because everyone's like, he's so much better. I don't think that helps Marvin Harrison. It doesn't help Jeremiah Smith. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:52:12 I think Jeremiah Smith. Marvin Harrison was unbelievable. Not Jeremiah Smith. It looked different when he was in college. Like he ran crisp. It was like sharp turns. CJ Strz.
Starting point is 01:52:24 Change of pace. Explosiveness. No, CJ Strub. Yeah. So like he did not, I don't think he forgot how to play football. I think for whatever reason, something went wrong.
Starting point is 01:52:33 And maybe it's like just what we're seeing with college athletes now. You get paid in college. Then you go to the pros. Football is not as fun anymore for you. And you get bummed out. and you play for a shitty team sometimes. For whatever reason, it just didn't work in Arizona. And I do think that a change of pace might help him out.
Starting point is 01:52:50 Yeah, I'd agree. It's a good move by the Texans. The better their offense is, like, we know their defense is going to round into shape, especially with DeMico Ryan's. I mean, look, he called the plays for one game. They gave up three points. Will Anderson, Jr. had an amazing game. Yeah, their defense is awesome.
Starting point is 01:53:07 And the Texans, the Titans do not have a real offense. Cam Ward. Titans fans, tell me if I'm wrong. Like, are you done with him? I feel like, I feel like you got to be done with him. Yeah. Yes, big picture, yes, but also
Starting point is 01:53:23 if you're the Titans, you realize that playing the rest of the season with Cam Ward is also the right thing to do. Yeah, yeah, no, I'm not saying not playing him this year, but you have to look elsewhere. Done believing that he will be the future of the team. Next year might be, let's draft a quarterback. I think that this is, it's at that point
Starting point is 01:53:41 where even the most optimistic Titans fans, they just, they understand. All right, let's do the afternoon games. Before we do that, PFT, you have a couple ads. Starting point is 01:55:37 information. Thank you to Bluchu for sponsoring the pod and the bedroom. Okay, Broncos 23 Chargers 17. Cardiac Broncos back, comeback kids. They were down 17, 10 in the fourth quarter. And then big stupid pick guy showed up. It was partially big stupid pick guy, partially. Big stupid fumble guy. Big stupid didn't get fourth and one guy. Yeah. So the, the Chargers had five possessions in the in the fourth quarter. They went punt, turnover on downs, fumble, pick, sack to end the game. Yeah. Their all the line is such a mess.
Starting point is 01:56:16 I know that. Very bad. Justin Herbert also looks like, he had no one to. I actually, you know what? I'm not going to put this one. All anyone does make excuse for Justin Herbert. He's been bad this year. I'm actually not going to blame this one on him just because, hold on.
Starting point is 01:56:31 the fumble I blame on him the pick was fourth and six he had to try to do something he literally had no one to throw to end the offensive line sucked but the fumble was the fumble is what lost them in the game they were all he had to do is take a sack there and punt it away because the chargers defense is playing really well Broncos's offense still sucks Sean peaton took it over the numbers somehow got worse
Starting point is 01:56:54 but yeah the the pick the big stupid pick that wasn't as stupid as like it was fourth and six he had to just throw it The Chargers outgained the Broncos 237 to 224. The outrushed Denver 155 to 106. They held LaPalle longer. The Broncos went one for 12 on third downs and still found a way to win the game. And Sean Payton kicking that field goal on the one yard line was like some chicken shit football. But it's also very disrespectful that he was like, yeah, we'll take the three points from the one because that's how little faith I have.
Starting point is 01:57:26 Yeah. And Justin Herbert to do anything good right now. I actually thought it was the correct move because, like, they're the, the, Chargers are not going to, they had the Kamani Vidal run, and like, the chargers aren't going to be able to get down the field. Their offense is such a broken piece of shit. And Justin Herbert does deserve a lot of blame. But that, the pit, I'm just not calling him a big stupid pick guy. He's a big stupid fumble guy this week.
Starting point is 01:57:47 The fumble was bad. It was kind of a stupid pick. Well, it's fourth and six. You got to throw it. You got to chuck it down there. You can't, it didn't, like, the stupid pick last week was a banner, banner weekend stupid picks. Yeah. The first one that he said, he's been bad.
Starting point is 01:58:01 Oh, really bad this year. It's also true that everybody around him is currently in the morgue. Do you think, are we worried at all about Jim Harbaugh's mental health? Yes. Yes. He's lost eight straight football games. Yes, that's never happened. Eight straight.
Starting point is 01:58:19 Well, it has when he was a player. But not as a coach. Not as a coach. Yeah. Eight straight. I'm very worried about him. They asked him like what the message was for a team that's on five and he just goes, I don't know. and guess what they have to play the Chiefs off a buy
Starting point is 01:58:33 this is when they turn around yep Andy Reid off a buy the fact that the Chargers didn't cover this game is insane they were up 17 10 they were plus 3 and a half they were up 1710 in the fourth quarter and the Broncos couldn't do anything the Broncos got worse offensively with Sean Peyton
Starting point is 01:58:52 it's crazy yeah I still don't know what to be Broncos are 3 and 2 I don't really understand them at all like I don't think they're good but they keep finding ways to win games. If they beat the Seahawks on Thursday night football, then I'm just like, I'll just throw my hands up. Like, this team's just magic. There's just something about the fourth quarter in Bo Nix.
Starting point is 01:59:12 Yeah, I mean, he didn't push the ball down the field much at all again today. But he just, they figure out a way to call the perfect play at the perfect time to win the game. To win the game winning play. That's happened for the last two years. It just continues to happen. I don't know what it is. even Broncos fans probably don't think that there's not a whole lot of confidence because they haven't reached that part in the season yet where they just say let go close your eyes
Starting point is 01:59:37 and trust that everything's going to work out because it always does but it's it's getting to that point where I'm about to just say fourth quarter if it's within one score just yeah let let bow nicks take the wheel and good things are going to happen yeah yeah okay uh should we go lions 45 cardinals 21 this was everything I've ever said about Jacoby Verset if you didn't watch the game. Jacobi Reset was 6 for 8, 58 yards of touchdown on the first drive.
Starting point is 02:00:05 He was 7 for 12, 60 yards of touchdown on the last drive and in between he was garbage. It was the perfect Jacoby Peret game. Yeah, well, they also ran a sick Philly special. Yeah. On fourth and one. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:00:18 Whereas Michael Wilson throwing to Brissette for like a four yard gain. Got the first down. Yeah. That was the hardest I've seen a team work to get four yards. Yeah. Hey, it worked.
Starting point is 02:00:26 And the Lions defense played well. I know it's against the Cardinals' offense, but they played well. Lyons' offense was awesome. It felt like everyone, like Gibbs was incredible. He is incredible. He had more yards from scrimmage in the first half than the Cardinals did as a team. Leporto was sick. Jamo got going. It felt like the Lions' full offense, like woke up today. And they, like, they started a little slow again, but then once they found their gear, it was just off. Yeah. It was over at halftime. They haven't scored a touchdown in the first quarter yet this year.
Starting point is 02:00:59 Did they not score one today? I don't think they did. Did they? I think they scored one. I know going into today, they didn't have one when you're talking about like their slow start. Yeah, no, they have been starting slow. Yeah, down seven nothing today. Yeah, down seven nothing.
Starting point is 02:01:11 Then they, then the second quarter, they scored 24. They went off. Wow. Gibbs, yeah, you're right. Great, absolutely outstanding game by Gibbs. Gibbs has now tied Barry Sanders for most scrimmage yards or most scrimmage touchdowns before turning 25 in NFL history. He's 57.
Starting point is 02:01:29 He's so sad. And he scored 58 shortly after that. Yeah. I just saw the update. Now he's at 58 so he surpassed Barry Sanders on that list. Also, if you want to just like, if you're a fan of awesome catches, Trey McBride might have had the best touchdown catch that meant absolutely nothing in a blowout loss.
Starting point is 02:01:48 He like tipped it to himself, got his feet in bounds, and, uh, and somehow like hovered over the defender. and got control before he was pushed out to cut the lead to 45-21. With like five minutes left in the game. It was a sick catch. That's it. That's all I got.
Starting point is 02:02:09 Dan Campbell asked for 35 points at a minimum to win this game. And he got it. He could have done with less. He's realistic. He's realistic because I'm sure that if they'd scored 31 points, it would have found a way to screw something up in the fourth quarter. But yeah, the defense, I don't know. Did the defense look better or were they just playing the Cardinals?
Starting point is 02:02:28 Yeah, that's probably a little bit of both. I mean, they did get five sacks, I think. So that's at least something. But yeah. I think that Jacoby Bresset might be the most comfortable quarterback to Sack in the NFL right now. Oh, yeah. It's like a big pillow. You look around the league and that's probably,
Starting point is 02:02:42 it might not be the funnest to Sack, but in terms of like, it's like you're jumping into a bunk bed when you hit Jacob Berset. Also, Jared is 12 touchdowns, zero interceptions through to the start of the season. Yeah. something to monitor. They've been, I mean, their offenses, the Bill's game was like,
Starting point is 02:03:01 that was a lot of offense when they were kind of already getting blown out. But like if the Lions can just have a middle of the pack defense or a good team. Jared with a rushing touchdown today too. Yeah. Yeah, that's right. Dude, he does it all.
Starting point is 02:03:18 Michael Ford said, I know we're better than that, but that doesn't mean shit right now. I don't know if you are. No offense. I don't think the Cardinals are better than this. I think maybe he's thinking like, I think we're closer to the team
Starting point is 02:03:30 that we looked like in the first half of the first half. Oh, of the first, of this game. Of this game, yeah. Chicago Burset always looks like that. Yeah, I think he's like, that's closer to who I think that we are because when I watch us play in practice, that's what I see.
Starting point is 02:03:48 Has a win, has a shocking win ever aged worse than the Cardinals beating the Chargers, week one. Remember we all were like, holy fuck, Cardinals might be good. Yeah. No, they both just stink. Like, that's just, they just stink. It turns out
Starting point is 02:04:06 that the Cardinals beating the Chargers was not shocking at all. The Chargers are really bad. And the Cardinals also are bad. They just happen to beat a worse team than them. But at the time, we were like, oh, my God, could the Cardinals be, like, frisky? I know I said that. Wrong.
Starting point is 02:04:23 Shout out to, uh, Teigen Quatoriano. Yes, two touchdowns today. Are we just not ball knowers for not knowing that he had been in the NFL since 2022? Yeah, I guess. Number 47, I assume he's a fullback? Yeah, tight end.
Starting point is 02:04:38 Yeah, tight end slash foreback. I mean, 47, you have to be a. Oregon State. Yeah, you have to be a four. He wore 84 on the, on the Texans. That's why I didn't, because, yeah, I was going to say, where'd that 47 come from? Yeah, the 47. I forgot.
Starting point is 02:04:53 he's 80. It's usually like an H-back type guy. Yeah. All right. Last game, 49ers, 32, Seahawks 29. This was a fun one. And there was just turnovers galore. What do you guys, anyone got any hot takes on this game or, I mean, it was just,
Starting point is 02:05:10 it was basically like who could turn over the ball the most in their own red zone. Yeah, I have a hot take on this game. Yeah. I think the 49ers is the best team in football. Yeah, hot takes. I was going to say, NFC championship rematch. Hot take. Or NFC championship.
Starting point is 02:05:23 preview. Nineers defense looks like good. The defense looked good but Mike Evans adds such a new dimension to that offense. Like that's something that they've never had. Dude. And he's he's still usually the best receiver on the field at all times.
Starting point is 02:05:39 And he was just boxing dudes out, catching everything that was remotely close to him. When he dig started talking shit to him and he turned him around to look at the nameplate on his back like, who are you dude? Yeah, that was awesome. I mean, this is that's the kind of player that the 49ers have been needing to kind of fill out that
Starting point is 02:05:57 offense for a while. And with Brock Purdy playing is good. I mean, today he wasn't like the Brock Purdy that we've seen, but a lot of that has to do with the Seahawks great defense. Yep. But besides this game, Brock Purdy has been playing at MVP level. Having Mike Evans on your team has to, that's got to be so much fun for him. I agree with this take. It was a game where basically every single drive the 49ers had to do was just short yardage to because the Seahawks kept turning the ball over. Until the end, they had to go like 74 yards for a touchdown, and it was Mike Evans, just big catch after big catch after big catch.
Starting point is 02:06:31 You're right. They've got one of the best quarterbacks in football. They've got one of the best running backs in football. They've got one of the best wide receivers in football. They've got one of the best tightens in football. They've got one of the best left tackles in football. And their defense, they've got one of the best middle linebackers in football. They've got another great linebacker who got kicked out of the game for headbutting
Starting point is 02:06:51 guy on the sidelines who wasn't wearing a helmet in football. They've got just, like, they're a great football team. Yeah. And then they're a cornerback, Renardo Green, who's like just popped off. He had two picks today. Yeah, their defense impressed me today. One of the best coaches in football, head coaches in football. They just have to stay healthy.
Starting point is 02:07:12 Yeah. And for the Seahawks, I'm not worried about the Seahawks. They have to figure out a way to run the football. That feels like the missing piece. They had another day where they, they fumbled, I think both, I think both their running backs fumbled, and they averaged like three yards of carry. Like it wasn't, it wasn't a good day for their running back.
Starting point is 02:07:31 I mean, there's a terrible fumble on their own. Oh, my God, was that a bad fumble? Also, the end of the game spot, people were really mad that the ref, like, spotted him short before they were like, he just made that up. He got it right. I think he was short. I think that's the right spot for it. Yeah, they reviewed it.
Starting point is 02:07:49 He was short. Yeah, Cooper Cup, dove and he dove out of bounds the ball he eventually got past the first down marker but he was like the ball was two feet out of bounds yeah he was short San Francisco is now 5 and no
Starting point is 02:08:01 and the 49ers have started the season 5 and 0 five times in the Super Bowl era the other five times one they won the Super Bowl one they lost the NFC title game and the other two times 2019-2023 they got to the Super Bowl and lost
Starting point is 02:08:19 so when they go 5 and 0 they usually get pretty far. So, yeah, best team in football. I deserve that title right now. I would give them the best team in football. They have, if we went off of, if we went off of like BCS rankings and stuff, they, they have the two best wins, or two of the best wins in terms of at Seattle and against the Rams. Like, those are two very impressive wins. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:08:47 At Seattle and then in Australia. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Okay. All right, that was, oh, and then Falcons, Ravens, Ravens come back. I don't know why. My big takeaway from this game was why did the Falcons go into prevent defense and let Stoop Huntley drive down the field? I do not understand.
Starting point is 02:09:05 Mark Andrews was awful, but the Ravens overcame it. Falcons, maybe we got a little ahead of ourselves. And also is Michael Pennock. How hard is it? I don't know, Mike, but he took a shot to the ribs that looked like he was, he was down for the count. To a. That was one of those hits where.
Starting point is 02:09:20 like you send him to the hospital scan his chest real quick to a big stupid pick guy oh my god just when you thought we were done with two of throwing picks he's like i got one more in me and then he throws a big stupid pick just a stupid pick classic classic toa also drake london so good so good never catches touchdowns but so good he's so good i yeah and the ravens i mean listen winning a game of the backup quarterback on the road Sunday night football pretty fucking good Raven the AFC's just stack tank
Starting point is 02:09:55 I know it's crazy We're ready are you Would you be ready For the 49ers in the Super Bowl Yeah you gotta be So you're just looking ahead to that Ravens are 4 and 1 No I said would you be
Starting point is 02:10:08 Yeah Ravens 4 and 1 Jaguars 4 and 1 Chiefs 4 and 0 Bill's 3 and 1 those are your AFC division leaders as of right now there's some really good teams in the
Starting point is 02:10:21 F.C. Scary. I guess the second, like, once you get past that, I'd put the Patriots in that group, the rest I don't really understand. Like, I guess the Bengals, I mean, I don't believe in the Broncos right now. So, I believe it's a falloff.
Starting point is 02:10:40 The top five in the AFC is pretty damn good. Let's do Roeback question real quick. Before we do, who's back the week? Roeback question, R-H-B-A-C-com. promo code take 20% off your first purchase Cusips, polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts Roeback.com promo code take. Zach, do you have a hot take from week five?
Starting point is 02:10:57 My hottest take from week five is that this could be a catalyst for the Ravens. The Ravens could go unnecessarily far this season. Feels like you just picked whatever we were last talking about. You're saying that you think that had a recency bias attached to it? Maybe. Gigantic one. All right, we'll take, we'll run it all the way back
Starting point is 02:11:17 If we're talking week five, I think some guys on the show were a little nonchalant knowing that all their holes are on the line next week. Oh, I'd agree with that. Every hole's on the line. Doing a whole bet and being like, I'm not worried at all. It's crazy.
Starting point is 02:11:32 Every orifice? I mean, it's not really a bet. You guys just say things. Like, I'm the only one that ever asked to put anything up. And then, and then... Well, you're the only one who's cocky in this situation. What does memes? What does your memes put up?
Starting point is 02:11:44 You want memesful? You guys didn't do anything when you played. Tattoo bats You and memes Oh he fucking hated me and just stared me down Every fucking day There's a difference Yes
Starting point is 02:11:54 The way that you talked about the Jets Was so disrespectful So disrespectful Like even when I Even that's what I'm saying That's what I'm saying Like even when like the Eagles were the best And I was playing the commanders
Starting point is 02:12:07 And the commander stunk I never would go Go into the week being like You little small Well that's big game That's different that's mid-game That's at the end of the game when it looked like maybe we're going to win and then we didn't win.
Starting point is 02:12:19 And I also told Max he was small and we were big boys. Well, yeah, that... People always clip out, clip out... We were just doing that the entire game back and forth at each other. Yeah, we're doing... You just got a little boyed. But it's always clipped into only me saying it to you. Yeah. Frankly, it's funny that way.
Starting point is 02:12:36 Yeah. Whatever. I'm regardless. I'm not... What hole do you want... What do you want memes to give up? I don't need any memes as holes. So what do you want for me? I have a suggestion, Hank. If you're giving up your holes, which I mean, listen,
Starting point is 02:12:49 Hank, anyone, you can't say that. Anyone here? Not you. You can't do that. If you're giving up holes, memes does have a nice new inflatable chair. Oh, we can't give up my chair. Okay. I have to give you my chair that.
Starting point is 02:13:06 Yeah. Yeah. For a week. What the fuck. For a week, for one week. It might not be inflated all the way by then. It's apparently like a chair that takes, 70 hours to completely
Starting point is 02:13:16 To completely Wait, what? Yeah, I bought a new chair Can I find this chair? What's the name of this chair? 72 hours, what do you mean? It comes in one of those vacuum sealed Compressed bags
Starting point is 02:13:28 So it's not like filled with air No, no, it's got stuff in it But it says it takes 72 hours to completely Oh, it's like, yeah, yeah, it's a mattresses Yeah It's the boneless It's like a couch in a box Yeah, it's a boneless friends
Starting point is 02:13:42 Those are actually solid Yeah, those are I actually, I was I was picturing, like, uh, air mattress, but a chair. Yeah, yeah. The way you said it. Yeah. I was picturing like, and, like, when you, like, you would go home from work and blow into a,
Starting point is 02:13:56 into a chair for like two hours and then like, then you have to wait till the next day to I was thinking of like the cheap, the cheap blow up, uh, like guitar you win at a carnival, but in chair form. I was thinking it was like something that memes won at a bar at like a karaoke contest and he has to go home and blow in and like a bud light inflatable chair shows up in his living room. That's pretty nice, Beams. That is a good chair. No, this is the inflatable chair.
Starting point is 02:14:18 Oh, that's what I was hoping. It's good style. I should buy that. So what is the name of you? It also turned out to be like really tiny. It looks like a... Whoa, no. A tiny chair?
Starting point is 02:14:29 It looks like a cup chair. I might have bought a cuck chair. What is the name of this chair? I might have bought a cuck chair. I did. What is the name of this chair? I'll send you the link. It's called the sit and watch.
Starting point is 02:14:39 We got to see. It might be. So you got this chair? I got the chair. And then you took it out. and it just wasn't big? It was big. It's an extremely big.
Starting point is 02:14:48 But it gets bigger. I don't think so. Don't worry. When you take it out, it expands. The blood flow. Yeah, it expands. Your furniture is a grower, not a shower. I'm sorry that you got such a small chair.
Starting point is 02:15:01 But it works perfectly. I was playing Minecraft in it. It was nice. So there you go. Oh, here's a stat. Teams have lost 581 straight games down 8 plus points in the final minute with their backup quarterback or no, sorry, just in the final minute,
Starting point is 02:15:17 Ravens with their backup quarterback pulled off the comeback. That's crazy. Yeah. That seems like a lot longer than I thought that stat would be. Well, no, because remember, that stat is also like the Raiders today. Yeah, it's every game. We're down eight plus.
Starting point is 02:15:33 Right, so it's really not. Yeah. It's one of those fake stats. It's a fake stat that sounds cool. I hate fake stats. That's perfect for this show. I hate fake stats. Fake stats.
Starting point is 02:15:42 fake film guys. People that don't know what they're talking about. I like your shirt today, PFT. Thanks. I was actually thinking about burning it. Like no joke. I was thinking like everything that I'm wearing today, you lose a game like that.
Starting point is 02:15:56 You have to move on from everything that you did that day. Because everything... But then I thought back at it, I might be a little bit of a loser for thinking this way. At one point this afternoon, I said to myself, how lucky am I that I got to watch a football game today that I will remember probably for the rest of my life.
Starting point is 02:16:14 Because sometimes those games kind of fall between the cracks. This was one that I'm going to look back and I'll be like, you remember when Jaden just forgot how time works? Yeah. Yeah. So at least there's that. That is cool. Do you just log into Amazon?
Starting point is 02:16:31 Well, memes just sent me this link. And it's just a link to Amazon. You send him to Amazon? It's just Amazon.com is the link that he sent me. And because it was like, you got to sign in. I was like, alright. Find this chair. Let's finish up the show.
Starting point is 02:16:44 Somebody send you a link to like. This is another link to Amazon. Let me Google that for you. Memes, come on. Oh, wait. Who's back in the week brought to you by our friends at Twisted Tea? It's football season. We've never been more ready for game day.
Starting point is 02:16:56 We're bringing Twisted tea along for the ride all season long. Twisted tea is a refreshing hard iced tea made with real brewed tea and five percent alcohol. The Twisted Tea Party Pack has a little something for everyone with original half and half raspberry and peach, whether you're tailgating at the stadium. Crushing teas in your man cave or grilling out with friends. Twisted tea is there to turn your day up a notch and make a good time. A great time.
Starting point is 02:17:16 We love Twisted Tea. We love the original and the half and half. They're all great. Grab a refreshing Twisted Tea today. Watch Twisted Tea while you watch a little football on your couch Monday Night Football. Keep it twisted with Twisted tea. Well, this is a nice chair. Oh, it's like a shag chair.
Starting point is 02:17:33 It's so tiny. Oh, no. I don't think it's that time. Well, no. That's the point, Max. is that he bought it. But it has the dimensions. It says giant chair.
Starting point is 02:17:44 What is it? What is the, it does say giant. What is the dimensions across? 43 inches. That doesn't seem big enough for a chair. I think that's pretty, I don't think that's up.
Starting point is 02:17:54 Is that the total width or is that the cushion width? That's less than four feet, dude. Yeah, that's pretty decent size. For a chair? Think about the chair you're sitting on right now. I have no fucking idea how big chairs are. I'm going to send you a picture of it and you're going to. Yeah, send me a picture of it.
Starting point is 02:18:09 I want to get eyes on this chair. But it came with a little leg rest. Chairs are also one of those things. Like, when you think about it, like, it's pretty crazy. Like, whoever made the chair, like, they nailed it. We haven't really done anything different with chair technology. The lazy boy? Like, they just nail it.
Starting point is 02:18:28 Yeah. It does in the description say beanbag for kids and teen. Oh, okay. You bought a kid's chair. But yeah, shout out whoever invented the chair. You crush that, man. I bought a kid chair. You bought a teen chair.
Starting point is 02:18:42 No, it says adult. You'll grow into it. No, it says teens. It says adults. It says adult. It says it also, it says gaming chair for adults, beanbag chair for kids and teen. So it's basically saying it's a kids and teen chair or if you're an adult without a job and you're a loser, you can have this chair. I have a job.
Starting point is 02:18:59 Yeah, I know. I'm a loser. You're not a loser. And you do have a job. Do you have a job? Yeah, it's for teens or for adults who act like teens. Yeah, right. Did you qualify in any of those?
Starting point is 02:19:12 I don't think I act like a teen, but... Memes, did you go outside on Saturday? No, or Friday. Oh, my God. He's awesome this weekend. So nice. It was great football. We're going to talk college football on Wednesday.
Starting point is 02:19:24 By the way, I'm very upset at our friend. Which friend? L.K. What happened? He had a cowards punt. Lane Kiffin. Really bad. The whole reason you're Lane Kiffin is to not punt.
Starting point is 02:19:44 I'm very happy for a friend W.S. Will Stein. Yeah, W.S. Yes, true. And also, what a hire by Jay Bat. Yeah, J. Bat. We still need to get J. Bat on. But yeah, you're Lane Kiffin, man. That's what you do. You go for it. You get Stined. You get it. You get that one yard.
Starting point is 02:20:00 All right. Hank. Who's back of the week? Who's back of the week? Please say, go ahead. Please give us an update on the pay care current. Oh, the Bakeran Classic? Yeah, what happened? Michael Brennan back.
Starting point is 02:20:18 Third PGA tour win. I think he's the third quickest player to get to three wins on the PGA tour. This is counting as a PGA tour, the Baker? It's a PGA tour event, yeah. Tigers won it. Keegan Bradley's won it. Is it always played in Japan in October? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:20:37 Okay. Did you watch it? Yeah. I watched it Thursday night, Friday night. And that's it What's the weather like in Japan? It's good weather. Okay, so Michael Brennan?
Starting point is 02:20:51 Michael Brennan, big win. Keith Mitchell kind of choked. Unfortunately. I was rooting for him. Ah. Yeah, Bay Current Classic back. You never updated us after Thursday night. What do you mean?
Starting point is 02:21:04 I was updating you Thursday night. Yeah, you said Max, I was like, please keep us updated. You should never update us. My God. It's right. I was in on the Bay Current. I wanted more Bay Current.
Starting point is 02:21:16 I expect the big current. Yeah, I know. I am. That's why I wanted updates. I went to a little party Saturday night, and I tried to put on the big current and immediately got yelled at. By who? Chaftonny?
Starting point is 02:21:28 Oh, Quags? King Richard? King Richard. Yeah. He had bet on the Fresno State game, and he was like, why the hell is it? Wait, Fresno got over the Bay Current? Yeah. That's a big game.
Starting point is 02:21:42 I was actually watching that game, too. It's a big game. Some people don't know that they're in the same conference. I was watching any defense. I was watching, boy, yeah. It was really rooting for Fresno State. Listen, the Bay Current, it was on after all of the other sports. Well, no.
Starting point is 02:21:57 Oh, sorry, the White Sox were down 9 to 3 in the ninth. With two guys on. Jousting. It's 9-5, two guys up. Again, like, you guys, we walked in here, no one said anything about putting any of the games on TV. Let's not relitigating games. Yeah, we don't have to do it.
Starting point is 02:22:11 I was just asked about the Bay Current. But also, speaking of, of sports that no one cares about or watches at this time of year. Celtics smoke the sexers in preseason basketball. Oh. Jason Brown and Jason Tatum might hate each other. Jason, Jalen Brown, Jason Tatum might hate each other. Why?
Starting point is 02:22:31 Yeah, what happened? They just weren't talking pregame. I thought they were thickest thieves. You told us for last like eight years that they were fine. I thought they were. Really? I don't know anymore. Would you like to say?
Starting point is 02:22:43 I still do. I still think this is a media narrative. and maybe this is like, I'm now spitting the narrative, but like it was a little odd. It was a little odd. Yeah, I mean, I feel like Jalen Brown has a preseason basketball, so who cares?
Starting point is 02:22:57 Jalen Brown has a right to be upset. At Jason Tatum? Yeah. The Celtics also played all of their starters and the Sixers didn't play anyone. Again, it's preseason Max, who cares? You're the one who brought it up. I don't care.
Starting point is 02:23:10 But I didn't even know that because I didn't care that much. Yeah. I just saw the score. Also, Maxy played. And we've smoked you. You were ready, like, right on the spot would be like, oh, we didn't play anybody. Max. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:23:22 Max, Max, he played. He's a starter. Yep. Definitely. LeBron did not play. Jalen Brown did not play. Okay. Get used to that.
Starting point is 02:23:31 Lerbom, historically known for not playing. Oh. It was the second game in a row. It's preseason. They played Thursday, so they were probably tired. Jalen Brown also watched a game from the locker room. Oh. I was waiting for you to say that.
Starting point is 02:23:46 Why? Good question. Is there an answer? They might hate each other. I don't know. It's weird. LeBron James games played the last five years. 60 games played 70, 71, 55, 56.
Starting point is 02:24:02 Downward trend. That was reverse. Oh. Upward trend. Well, when you said it like that, downward trend. Yeah, downward trend. That's a lot of games in the last couple years.
Starting point is 02:24:13 He's probably true. He's probably tired. Good point. That's a really good way to flip that narrative. Max, we can say whatever we were. I know. I fucking hate you guys. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 02:24:21 They were pretty close to each other. Yeah. I don't think they like each other. They can't be in the same room. That's so awkward. It's so awkward. Yeah. Jaylon Brown went on stream and said it's like senior ex.
Starting point is 02:24:33 Yeah, I mean, he used to mess around with now. It's just kind of, uh. Well, didn't he get, I mean, I know he was like not happy. He got traded and didn't Jason Tatum just not say anything. That's kind of weird. No, he did. What? What?
Starting point is 02:24:45 Instagram story. Oh. Oh, okay. Saying what? That's my brother. No. They're not acting. I know.
Starting point is 02:24:53 I don't know. Like, you're like, I'm, I am, again, like, you're the last to find out about this. This is an existing situation. Like, I am now. You're a near constant topic on part of my tip. The same podcast that you're on. Excheal of the show, dude.
Starting point is 02:25:07 Yeah. No, I'm accepting that there might be something to this and you guys are coming down my throat. Like, I don't, I'm not like, I can't defend what I've said in the past. I can only talk about what we're looking at in the present. You're literally doing dumb and dumber we landed on the moon. You know what? You know what, Piccat? I'm going to say to Hank, thank you, Hank.
Starting point is 02:25:23 You're welcome. Thank you for admitting for saying, like, hey, maybe I've been clouded in my judgment and has been off because as a fan of the Celtics, I didn't want to see what you see. But now that you're looking at independently, you can say without a doubt, like, yeah, they don't like each other. And like, yeah, like, it takes a big man. I've only seen Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum coexist as Superstars seeing the synergy between Paul George and Jason Taylor.
Starting point is 02:25:46 Oh, man. Those guys love each other. Off the charts. But you didn't watch the game. Off the charts. Great friends. Off the charts. No, just their highlights.
Starting point is 02:25:55 And it was... I'm excited to see what those guys can do. It looks special. Yeah. And... Unlocked PG? Special. Wow.
Starting point is 02:26:03 Wow. Hank, do you watch some... You've only said nice things about PG. Again, I can't... You've only said nice things about... I can't defend what I've said in the past. I can only look at what is... front of me in the present and what I saw
Starting point is 02:26:16 from this preseason game is And you mean that Paul George having like a resurgence season and then choking the playoffs would be very funny Hank guys Or Max guys aren't allowed to grow It sounds like Hank is going through a period of growth As a human being
Starting point is 02:26:34 Yeah let's let guys grow like someday memes is going to get an adult chair There's It says it's an oversized giant chair It's a team chair and kids. It's a teen chair. It sounds like that chair is really trying to convince everyone it's a normal sized chair. Yeah. It's an oversized giant chair. You got to tweet out a picture of that chair
Starting point is 02:26:54 and just see how many AWOs are like, oh yeah, my 12 year old daughter has that chair. We put it in her room. It's all about the angle that if you look at it from the right angle, it looks massive. All right, so that's your who's back? Yeah. All right. Good Who's back. Thanks. Really good who's back. Good show. Thank you. Thanks, guys. My Who's Back of the Week is the Sacramento Kings. Did you guys hear what their owner did at the start of the season? I did not. Is this the A's guy?
Starting point is 02:27:24 Vivek ran a dive. Yeah, yeah. So he took the entire front office, the team, the whole team out to a dinner in training camp and stood up, gave him a toast. Tried to bust everybody's balls. but the speech ended up just being like a several minutes long roast of everybody that worked for him on the team. And then he was done and everyone just stared at him like, well, that was really mean. He was trying to do it like nobody believes me. So he was saying all the stuff, all the bad stuff that had been said about the Kings in the media over the course of the entire off season and how everyone was doing a bad job.
Starting point is 02:28:00 Damn. But then there was no message of like togetherness. Yeah, like to bring it back around guys. This is why we're going to be. Yeah, he was just like, you suck, you suck. Where's Jim? Oh, he's, Angela, where are you? I didn't see either behind that grain of rice.
Starting point is 02:28:15 Like, there's no meaning behind the roast. He was just like, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you. Now go out there and use that to be better this year. That's very bizarre. But I have been watching some Ben Simmons clips. And? I think the jump shot might be back. Wow.
Starting point is 02:28:31 Have you guys seen anything? Wow. You guys watch that? Preseason Benny? No. Can't say a half. No, come on. Who cares about the preseason?
Starting point is 02:28:40 Preseason Benny, I think the jump shot looks smooth. Dare I say maybe... Is he lefty or righty? Maybe fixed. From which side? I don't know if it was a reverse video that I was showing, but I think it was lefty. I think it was still lefty. All right, good for him.
Starting point is 02:28:58 Good job, Benny. Look at this. Just stroking it. All right, my who's back. I'm going to move off of preseason basketball. We didn't even talk. about the whiz. Oh, do you want to?
Starting point is 02:29:09 No. Sports Hunter led this highlight tape off with a free throw. MLB playoffs. So the Guardians complete the comeback. Saturday night. Gavin Williams. Jose Ramirez, who, Max, did you see that? Did you watch the highlight of that, Jose Ramirez's home run?
Starting point is 02:29:27 Yes. I don't know how the hell is. He hit it off of his fucking shoelace. It was like, what, was that the lowest home run? Yeah. Yeah. His interview after the game was so good. too.
Starting point is 02:29:37 Is it golf swing? Yeah. It was nuts. They asked him what pitch he hit and he was like, ah, home run pitch. It was crazy. So it was like, that was such a painful way for the White Sox to lose. And I know they had a great season. I do, as someone who roots for a Jerry Reinsdorf own team in the Bulls, this is
Starting point is 02:29:57 Jerry Ryensdorf's wet dream to have a team that he doesn't have to spend money on, be just competitive enough to give you hope that you could win the division. get some home playoff games and then next year be like hey we're gonna we're gonna do it well maybe i'm wrong isbia is going to be the owner soon enough yeah so maybe i'm wrong but it was i mean it was a it was a season out of nowhere for the white so they should be proud of that but the way they went out was was it was tough they struck out so many times do you see the stat that it was uh 75 white sock strikeouts over 45 innings it was every they were so lost so that to put that in perspective that's the most strikeouts over any five consecutive nine inning games against any opponent in the modern
Starting point is 02:30:41 era of Major League Baseball. It was crazy. Postseason or regular season. That was the most strikeouts that any team has ever struck out. It was crazy to watch it. And Mooney was so bad. He was so lost. He had a moment where it was bases loaded and a chance to do something.
Starting point is 02:30:59 And it was just, yeah, it was painful. I feel bad for White Sox fans said to watch that last three games where it's like, The season was so fun. You'd won four playoff games in a row. And then you just struck out, literally every at bat. And ran out of gas. And Sean Burke did, I mean, Sean Burke pitched his balls off. Jose Ramirez hitting that home run is just such a, like, you can't do anything about that.
Starting point is 02:31:23 It wasn't a bad pitch. It was just. It was like a Vladdy home run. Yeah. And then the Dodgers Brewer series, which is going to, I think, going to be an incredible series started already incredible. Scuba versus Miz. Brewers win 2-1.
Starting point is 02:31:38 Who hit the home run? Terang. Terang. An insane homer swing. I think it's the only, it's the third time this year that someone has gone left on left to the opposite field. The other two are both show. Hey. Jesus.
Starting point is 02:31:52 And it was against Scoobo. Yeah. Awesome series. That series is going to be awesome. So we'll, game two is Monday night. I think it's Yamamoto. going but they and brewers already better than last year's nLCS yeah and i mean they didn't get the best outing from miss either no he he he he threw a lot of pitches yeah he only gave up one run but
Starting point is 02:32:16 yeah he he only lasted i think four and a third or so uh there's some big double plays today yeah burrs i mean they just win dude they're fucking they're good i don't know what to say there's one part of that stat that i left out left on left a fastball on the inner third so it's a pitch to hit the other way. Very tough pitch. All right, Zach, finish us off. Mike, who's back of the week this week is the Robot Kombat Entertainment League. Okay.
Starting point is 02:32:43 So earlier last month, they had the first fight Robot versus Man in California. They've since received for that fight a cease and assist from California's athletic commission, but it's not for fighting robots and humans. It's just due to the fight being unsanctioned. So now we may be moving forward with robot for. fights as long as we start getting things sanctioned. They have to have some sort of governing board. Yes. The board didn't say okay to the fight. So they're maybe all right with robots, but... I'm not in favor of robot human combat. I think that that opens a lot of very strange doors and
Starting point is 02:33:18 pass that we don't want to go down. However, if you're going to sanction it and you have to have a board, I feel like it needs to be equal parts represented by humans and robots on the board. Is that too much to ask for? Would that be represented as... could they be representing a software? They have to be hardware robots. You know what? The software is obviously the backbone of it, but I would like to see a physical representation of the software.
Starting point is 02:33:43 Maybe not a fully functional robot, but at least maybe just like a robot head that opens its mouth and maybe the eyes light up and it talks. Did you guys see any tape from the first fight? I can't say I did. No. It's kind of like the Ben Simmons highlights. Missed it.
Starting point is 02:33:58 There's definitely more going on in that fight than a Ben Simmons highlight reel in 2020. I don't know. You guys jump shot. I don't know if you heard that. It's sweet. He has jump shot back. He had a free throw. He had a free throw.
Starting point is 02:34:09 No, it was more than that. It was all started with a free throw. It started, that's how a lot of great journeys do begin. But you could see it on his face. He was thinking about the boat the whole time. He was. You know he wants to be out in the water. He does.
Starting point is 02:34:19 He misses the, yeah, he misses fishing. Can I see a clip of the Robot Fighting League? Because this seems it seems like one of those ideas that everyone agrees sounds terrible, but it sounds so bad that it will be good for ratings. Okay, I might be in Is this real? What I'm
Starting point is 02:34:41 Zach, I need Jay That's not the clip We should get one of those guys Yeah That's robot on robot Those are also terrifying You guys remember battlebots? Yeah
Starting point is 02:34:52 Battlebots rock Yeah Is it? I'm down to bring this back Oh shit I kind of want to get one of those guys I kind of want to get one just So we could beat it up
Starting point is 02:34:59 That's what the first clip was Yeah Philly does that Hitchbot Yeah People don't forget Whoa we could bet on it
Starting point is 02:35:08 Zach just keeps telling me this is not the real I got right here one sec Sorry I was thinking about that the other day Like like the robots that deliver food and stuff Like how like my kids are just going to grow up and that's normal It's like such a weird
Starting point is 02:35:22 And where we're going to end up with this shit Yeah It's fucked up I don't want to think about it too hard It's Dante has anything to say about it We won't have those robots too long Now they're just doing Patty cake
Starting point is 02:35:33 I'm out I need to see the robot fighting league, though. This is just... Also, he doesn't count as a real robot if it's attached to something. He's being controlled. This guy's just, yeah, he's just mirroring the one guy. Okay. But, Zach, you made it sound like it was man versus machine.
Starting point is 02:35:50 So it's a man versus... It's robot versus man. Fully man, fully bought. Oh, okay. I'm cool with this. This is actually pretty awesome. Okay, yeah, let's see. All right, this guy is coming out.
Starting point is 02:36:00 He's going to beat up a robot. Can you just unplug it? But this is the guy with the big ass The red face looks scary Really scary Can't you just unplug it though Zach? They look untethered
Starting point is 02:36:13 Or just what about just throwing water at it You see that guy's ass Big ass You saw a spinning elbow Oh it's the big ass guy Yeah yeah I know the big ass guy Yeah yeah I know the big ass guy You know I would do
Starting point is 02:36:24 I would put magnets in semi-gloves Yeah What if he's carbon fiber I haven't thought about that Why are we making fighting robots? I don't like this. Dropped them. I like the little ones.
Starting point is 02:36:37 This is I-Robot. Yeah, I don't like this at all. We're just pissing off the robots and teaching them how to fight us. This is a- Saw the Robot One? It's been a slippery slope. It started with the robot dogs. And everybody was like, oh, look how cute they are.
Starting point is 02:36:49 Yeah, but remember he slipped on the banana and then we laughed. Yeah, it slipped on banana. We're like, oh, this goofy little thing. It's so cute. And then they're like, okay, what about if we gave the robot dog's giant teeth? When I was in a second. When I was in Italy, I saw someone walking a robot dog in the wild. Really?
Starting point is 02:37:05 And then there was another person who had a real dog, and the real dog did not like the robot dog. Hell yeah. Hell yeah. They know. Yeah. I was a sick brag about you going to Italy, Max. What'd you say? Sick brag about you going to Italy.
