Starting point is 00:00:32 to the today, to be a parent. Hello. I'm Josh Whitakum. Welcome to Parent in Hell, in which Josh and I discuss what it's really like to be a parent, which I would say can be a little tricky. So, to make ourselves and hopefully you feel better about the trials and tribulations of modern-day parenting each week we'll be chatting to a famous parent about how they're coping. Or hopefully how they're not coping. And we'll also be hearing from you the listener with your tips, advice and of course, tales of parenting woe. Because let's be honest, there are plenty of times when none of us know what we're doing.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Hello you're listening to Parenting Hell with. Hey Mish, can you say Rob Beckett? What? Rob, bum, bum. And can you say Josh Whittigum? Yes. Gosh, truth. All right, you're drongo.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Yes. Yes. We've got ourselves a couple of Aussies. You have got yourself a couple of Aussies. This is my three-year-old Hamish who currently insists on adding Bumb-Bum to most things he says. So naturally he adds to your names. Although I think my accent gives it away, I'll include my location at the end of this email, for you to guess, Rob.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Do they give the location, Australia? They do give the location location location location location location location location location, should location, should the location, should the location, should the location, should the relocation show us from the email. Thank you for both providing so much realism and humor to parenting. You truly are relatable guys. Unbelievable. Lovely. So relatable and sexy and funny. Washing dishes, whilst listening to you, both takes a bit longer as I'm doubled over the laughter most of the time.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Thanks to the last very much, appreciated Jane. Mel, oh, oh, oh, got it. I was going to say Gold Coast for full transparency. I don't know what that means. The Gold Coast, Brisbane up there. Oh right. Have you ever been Australia? Yeah I hated it. Right, so. Why do you hate it? Oh, too many flies. Too hot, too many flies. Where were you there? We did a last like travel log through Australia. Oh, I remember. Yeah, but you didn't see the best part of it. We fucking didn't, I'm telling you that for free. Got to Melbourne at the end of three weeks. And you're like, this is the bit I wanted to go to.
Starting point is 00:02:51 I didn't want to be stood in bloody Darwin surrounded by flies. Oh, anyway. I mean, I've not done that bit of Australia. I've done over there. I did like Adelaide Fringe, I did three years of I'm a celebrity over there. So yeah, of course. I think I'm going back on tour actually. It's exciting. So I might be able to see Hamish. You might be able to see Hamish. Yeah, well why not? I'm a bit young for the show. Yeah, how are you? I'm all actually. I'm a bit tired. I've got a lot coming up in a few weeks, I'm going to have the children on my own for like four or five nights when Lou goes away. Whoa. Yeah, big time. Whoa. Full on, full blast. She's a, she's thrown it straight back at me.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Four to five nights. Yeah, she's a bit nervous about going away for that long but oh yeah, yeah, it's her problem Rob. Yeah, she shethat she'd be absolutely fine when she's away having the time of her life. So take me through what your plans are for these four or five days? To be fair, they're gonna be in school so it's not gonna be in school so you're gonna be in school so it's not gonna be in school so it's not the end, to be fair. it's literally just like pick up pick like pick like pick like pick like pick like pick like pick like pick like pick like pick their pick their pick their pick their pick, I I I I I I I I I's like pick their, like pick their, like pick up, like pick up, like pick up, like, like, like, I'll, I'll, like, I'll, I'll their, I'll their, like, I'll thi-a, thi-a' thi-a' thoops, thoom, thoom, tho-a, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, their, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, th bad, it'll be fine. We haven't sorted out the date. So when we've got all the dates, we know a bit more, I'll talk you through my plan of action. This week's, I've not been at home that much because I've been gigging lots. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Because we've been doing the parent and hell shows and I've doing our tour shows. So I did thrown. yourself on stage that's what they say about you. I just leak energy. You do. I'd love to inject that into people's ears but I am this has been quite funny though. One of the most disgusting images I've ever thought of really that that you leak energy and inject it into people's ears but carry on. I've got a bit of an issue with the gymnastics club the kids go to. Oh yeah go to gymnastics. Oh yeah they go to gymnastics on gymnastics gymnastics gymnastics gymnastics gymnastics the gymnastics the gymnastics in have to one goes in and then the other goes in because they're a different age
Starting point is 00:04:46 group, so it's a bit annoying. You're sitting in the car basically on your phone for an hour and then do shifts and then one goes in I think I imagine like a forward roll with a star jump. So you're not allowed to go in and watch? No, you don't go in and watch, which is, you know, fine. No, you're allowed to see if there's a competition or whatever, worried they're boosting? I did see a lot of blood transfusion equipment being moved in and out of the hall Just to keep the energy up, but I don't know if that was There's a spin class next door or something, but you know, but you know, they're the bendiest of most energetic They've ever been so I've been so whatever they're on me some they're on you've got to give us five pounds to tak. the tha tha th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th me th me the the the their the the their the the their the the their their that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their that's that's that's that's that's their their that's their their thou's their their their they. their their they. that's that's that's their their their the, we passed the first level, oh brilliant, and we get a medal. I was, oh well done, show us your medal. It went, oh no, no, you've got to give us five pounds to take him to get it. What? I know!
Starting point is 00:05:49 Are they part of a pyramid scheme? I don't know what it is. That's a bit cheeky, because you're a bit, so they've got to go win with a fiver for a medal. Is that normal? You're asking the wrong person, I've no, I've no, no experience of gymnastics medals, Rob. You went though, you just never got the medals? You just never got the medals, you just never passed a course. For six years, they still can't quite get the first medal so they just can't get that forward roll. Exactly. You can't. You. You. You. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't, you. You can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't the the the the the the the the the the th. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No, no. No. No, no. No, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the experience experience experience the the the th to hear that your daughters are doing better than me, it's a real kick in the teeth. Oh no, it's all right, it's one of those things. But yeah, no, I don't know if that's a thing or not, but then it's about a feel a bit unfair, if you're like a bit tight on cash that week and you've got a few kids.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Can't keep banging out of five, they've like become really successful and they did Desert Island discs they would go well yeah I remember when you know I've worked really hard and passed my gymnastics and my parents couldn't afford the five pound gold medal or even worse they could afford it they just didn't want to give it to me and it's like some sort of like fire in the belly. What you should think that would be a good thing to say. You do not deserve a medal until you have won the Olympics. Oh, they come and go, oh, I pass my test. All right, yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Show me you didn't. No one, think about it. No one didn't pass. Yeah, how convenient. Oh, what's that? The brother of the owner of the club? Oh, what does he do? He makes medals. Think about it. Yeah, he works in Timpsons. It's not trickling down, it's trickling up, mate. Yeah, think about it, your sheep.
Starting point is 00:07:32 You fucking sheep. I know you're six, but wake up. And then get two five pound notes, Rob, about it. They're controlling you with their medals. So tell me how that goes when you do it, okay? Yeah, let's go next week how that goes down with them. This is me getting old now and you know, when you start to get old and you become a dad and you think, no, I'm still pretty down with kids.
Starting point is 00:07:58 I'm good with technology, I all they can see is your ear. That's basically where we all end up. Yeah. You know Disney Plus right? Yeah. You got Disney Plus, you? In Canto and all that. Yeah. Yeah. I mean I got it for the Beatles documentary but yeah. Well I wondered why I couldn't find certain things like the Beatles documentary or dope. to their to their their.. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to their to to their their to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. I've been watching it with a child parental lock on it, even for me. Oh no. I didn't know that you have to update it and put their age. Oh my god.
Starting point is 00:08:29 I didn't realize all this stuff was on it. No. Honestly, we watched dope sick last night. It was brilliant. But I feel like an old nano'n'en's been watching sky. that's not. to 9 o'clock. Ridiculous. So when did you realize someone said this is on Disney Plus and you're like it's not? Well no everyone kept on saying what's dope sick and we couldn't find it and then Lou worked it out. What is this
Starting point is 00:08:51 thing? Dope sick? Oh it's a drama about it. It was basically a painkiller that was an opioid that was released and those people got addicted to it and then lost their jobs and became homeless and all that but it was marketed as non-addictive and it's just about that basically. Oh wow. To be fair, it's not the kind of thing you want your four-year-old watching so I think I'm great it's great yeah all I'd say is the parental controls a top-notch on Disney to the the point the point to the point the point to the point the point to the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the point the the the point the the point the the the the the the point the the the the point the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th th th th th is the of the of the of the of theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. that's that's that's the of that's that just trying to find what have I missed? So were you logging in as your daughter? Yeah, but then I've been watching loads of sports documentaries on it. Yeah, they've got those really good ESPN 30 for 30 ones. Oh, yeah, and then I was like, there's only a few on here, but then I imagine the ones that got a few swears in and then I watch the other day. I watch a documentary Josh about this end. A the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their they's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. T. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I've got they're they're they're. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. they's. they's. I've. I've. they's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. they's. they's. Yeah. they's. Yeah. they's. I've. they're. they're. I've they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're got their. I've got their. I've got their. they've got their. I've got they've got they've got they've got theirs and 70s and then you see them walking around the new Raiders stadium Las Vegas and they're like oh my god and it's like they like hated each other and there was gonna be all this beef and then All of a sudden then they're go to talk to each other at the end and then it was only at the end I realized that it was computer images I thought it was the real people. But let's be honest that is a fucking insane thing to do in a documentary. Why have they done that? I don't know but you know like they were I don't think that's your fault Rob I don't think it is either Josh.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Why would you go oh yeah I tell you what they've done here they've reanimated so two corpses? Yeah imagine if you watch. they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've the their. tel. tell. tell you're tell you're tell you're to tell you're tell you're tell you're the the the the the the the the the the the the think of an example of a documentary. The Beatles! Yeah, if at the end of that, they played the gig, and then an old John Lennon and George Harrison played with Paul McCartney and Ringo's star. Yeah, that wouldn't be an acceptable way to end that. No, but at least you know that they're dead. I've never heard of these people. No. So I'm thi' I've th. I've th. I've never th. I've never th. th. than't than't their than't their their than't than't their than't than't their their than't than't thathea. tho. tho. thathea their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. th. the. the. the. the. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. thea. th. I'm backing you up here. Okay, sorry, yeah, thank you. So no, but I just felt so stupid, then I showed Lou. And then once you realize their computer people, it's so obvious.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Yeah. Does it look like toy stories? Yeah. And Lou, it was like, are you all right? I went, no, but they didn't, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, th. th. they, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. Davis was a NFL owner, he owned the coach and then owner of the Raiders, Oakland Raiders, and he wanted to move them. But why have they done that bit at the end? It wasn't just that bit at the end. They were talking all the way through, like it was current day. They're in the stadium and he's going, yeah, because we really fell out. But I don't know where they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they're they're they're they're their they're their their. their. their. they're their. their. they're their. their. their. their. their. their. their. Yeah. their. their. their. their. their their their. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. their. Yeah. Yeah. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their. their. their. their. their. their. they've got this audio from because it's new or it's not archive. Well if they can make him physically someone could do an impression. Yeah well exactly I think that's what's happening but look at they're so computer generated it's so embarrassing now.
Starting point is 00:11:32 I've sent you. Oh my god I'm just looking at the picture. It's awful I can't believe it confused me. This is the picture right that I'm looking at the guy in the suit. Yeah the guy. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's that's that's. that's that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they's. they's. they's. they're. they're. they're. they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're so so so so so they're they're they're they're they're they're so so they're they're they're Yeah, I mean, it's so embarrassing. I mean, I'm going to watch it now to see what it's like. But at the beginning, honestly, because he's walking around all in new clothes and he looks old and he's talking about, oh, we're so happy to be in the new stadium, but he died before the stadium was built? So when did you find out he died? talking. He didn't say I'm dad did he? No, no I had to Google it because I was like they look weird and then all the other images of them were them sat down talking so a bit like deep fake you know deep fake you know deep fake yeah yeah how they filmed it was people dressed up as them doing impressions of them and then they put like computer generated images on their faces and made their mouth moves so it was real people but then but but but but but the the they but their their people their people their people their people their their their their they they they they they they they they they they they to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to they they were to to to to to to to to to to to to to they were. they were. they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they were they were they they were their th I I th thi thi thi thi thi thi the. the. thi. their they. the. the. thi. their they were their they were they were they. But then at the end I think it was just, I don't know, but I was really upset. It is a weird way to do a documentary. To be fair to you, Rob, it's a strange thing to do in a documentary. It's a weird documentary to watch, but
Starting point is 00:12:34 I'm watching that because there's not many options when you're under 14 for anything other than cartoons? Can I just ask? How many people to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their their. their. their. their their. their their their th. th. th. th. to be th. today. today, today, today, today, today, to th. the. to be their to be their their of 14 are interested in a documentary about the way the NFL franchise system works? It's such a nerdy documentary. About quite, I don't know, but it's on there. Because I think they should do parental guidance for like, if they're swearing, but also you don't want to see this. Yeah, you're not interested in this bullshit. That's why the Beatles onesto watch this load of crap. The good news is now I'm sure there must have been parents watching Disney with the cap on and not really, and there's loads of other content on there so now you know. So with CBBs though, right? I'm not missing
Starting point is 00:13:13 out on anything there, that's just all kid stuff right? I haven't got some late night. That hasn't got some some late night stuff that I'm missing out on because I'm that I that I that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the that's that's that's the that's that's that's that's that's that's that's not that's not that's not that's that's not that hasn't the that's not that's not that's that's not that's not that's not that hasn't there's there's there's there's not there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's the the the the the the the the the th the tho the the tho tho tho tho tho tho tho the the tho the the the the tho there's not there's there's there's the wrong way. Oh no, you've not seen, hey Doug, he does Dallas. I haven't seen it. Oh, mate, he's a fucking dirty bear. It's weird, because that's the kind of thing I do. Do you know what I mean? Not, not, not, not, look, go, go, go to Dallas and have sex with a bear. He's a dog, isn't he? He's a dog, is he, isn't he? He? He? He? He? He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He's a dog. He. He's a dog. Is he computer generated as well? Don't break it to me. Hey, Doug, he's a dog, he, he's a dog. I thought it was a bear. Oh no. Oh, it's a fucking dog.
Starting point is 00:13:50 It looks like a bit like a bear though. I don't know. I always associated an animal that would be able to run a class of kids. So that is on the one hand why I see where you're coming from. The other hand, he does wharf throughout. Yeah, I'm not really listening though. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Of course, of course. That's the best way to hug a kid. Yeah. Or pick them up. There's no world in which you hug a kid at your natural height. If Rose

Me were in their hilarious. Christmas morning to put a nighty on in front of my entire family. Is there any photographic evidence of this event?
Starting point is 00:17:05 I know, but I'm sure I can slip it on and put it on the WhatsApp group if you want. Yeah, why not? Why not? Let's get the clicks. Get the Instagram up. Can I just ask? When you told me about your Christmas day, why didn't you think to mention the point where your mom forced you to wear a a night to wear a night, to wear, to wear, to wear, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their their their their their their, their their their their their their their their their their their what their their their what their what their their their, their, their what their, their, their tho, tho, what's tho, what's toooomorrow, what's tooomorrow, what's tooomorrow, what what's tooomorrow, what's tooomorrow, what what's their their their ed between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 o'clock. I sort of couple of hours in the morning for the kids and then I got, when I was doing breakfast and getting everyone ready like you know and then I eat a nighty? Yeah and a dressing gown. And you didn't think
Starting point is 00:17:52 to mention this? No I didn't. What have you done with the nighty? It's in my sort of bedtime draw with my like joggy and baggy t-shirts that got stains on. Not bedtime draw. We call them Tuesdays. Have I spoke about this? No. So basically, you know, like, you know, if you're in for the day, right? Say like you've hungover, whatever, and you've done your stuff in the morning,
Starting point is 00:18:13 and you're in, you're not going out again, and you're to the we call them Tuesdays because once when my mate was at university we were out and see my mate on a Tuesday birch we knocked on the door went hello mate you're right and he was dressed like we always wanted like normal clothes to like doing stuff like jeans and tops going to union college and he was wearing like this massive like pair of like jogging bottoms big thick socks and a rugby top had stains and I was like, what's wrong with you? What are you doing? And he went, it's Tuesday. I went, what? It's Tuesday. I went, so he went, I don't have any lectures or work on Tuesday. I went, I don't have any lectures or work on Tuesday. So he just basically doesn't leave the house on a Tuesday so wears a really comfy clothes. So now for the day, Tuesdays, like lounge wear I think it's the sort of official term. So Tuesdays we call them. So my night is in the
Starting point is 00:19:08 Tuesday draw. Do you know one at the university in my final, are they called semesters? That's what they called, wasn't it? Yeah. Terms? Semestasters is American, isn't it? Yeah, it is, isn't it? Tuesday was the only day I worked out. I was the only. I was the only. I was the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only I was. I was. I was. I was. I was the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only the only. I I I I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I I was, I was, I I I I was, I I I I I I I I was. I I I I was. I I I. I I was. I I I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was at the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the those courses where you don't have to do that many hours. Yeah. And I worked out if I picked certain modules, I could get all of my lectures on Tuesday. So I picked loads of modules I wasn't that interested in, just so that I then had a six-day weekend and it was incredible. Oh wow, that's good. Yeah. So Tuesdays would be a full of hours. Oh, so your Tuesdays. to their Tuesdays. to be to be to be to to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. thease. thease. thease. th th th th thease. I was thea. So you could call your comfy clothes, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday's Mondays. Exactly. Yeah, okay. A bit of Tuesdays is catchy, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:19:50 Yeah, exactly. So I'm putting on my Tuesdays. You're putting on your Tuesdays. You've got one more thing toakes when the baby's born. No. So this is a thing where you could do your friends and family, right? I've heard about it, but I've never heard it done this way. Where basically what you do is you go, right, the baby's due in February, like February, say February the 15th, for argument's sake. And then what you do is get the length of the speeches at a wedding sweepstake, which is always like that. Yeah, exactly. I think you could probably pick your day or you just pick it at random because
Starting point is 00:20:27 if it's during the 14th, you know, it's more the chance it's going to be in the middle, but basically you do that and then they randomly pick a date in February, so you pay your five quid and you get the seventh and then it's sort of like, oh who's the th.. who's the money, who's the money, the money, th. who's the money, thu's the money, thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thin, thin, thin, thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' th and then th, or th, or th and then th and then thin thin thin thin thin' thin' thin' thin thin' thin, thin thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' th th th th th th the. th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th what they're doing is you pay 20 quid sometimes and then it's splitting half. So if you get it, you get half the money and then the other half goes to the baby. What? Like, baby tax? Yeah, baby tax. But then I don't know if that's a bit cheeky or something. the ta thiiiii. thin's thin's thin's thin's thin's thi's thi's thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi's a thi. thi. thi. thi's thi's thi's thi. thi's thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. So. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th do? No, no, it's not the back, it's not actually going to be baby's pocket money. Like, and he's going to go down the shop, get some muslins or something.
Starting point is 00:21:06 It's like, for the parents, so, you know, because if it's 30 days, it's 20 quid. It's a lot of money, isn't it? Yeah. So what's your view on. second third and they'd give a bit more. Do you know what I mean? No I think it's one winner, one I think as well. Let the baby have, you know, the baby, you're running the sweepstakes, so let the baby have, don't pay, but three dates. Or the baby gets the due date and the two days either side of it. Exactly, because the baby's got an advantageid riding on it, hold it in a day. Oh my God. Because you imagine it at midnight. Imagine if you're the dad and you've got the sweet steak for that day and it's 10 to midnight and you're nearly there. Oh my god. And you know it's coming out, say it comes out at 1 a.m. Oh my god. And you know it's coming out. to say it comes out of 1st. to the to come out. to come out. to come out. to say. to say. to say. to come. the the to to the the the the the to the the the the to the to the the the the the to the th. th. th. the thatheatheathea. the to that. to the the to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the sweet. the sweet. the sweet. the the the sweet. the the the the the the the the the the th. the th. that. that. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. to see the birth certificate. Yeah, but then you have to have a word with the midwife and go, look, do you mind?
Starting point is 00:22:07 But then for the next 18 years, you're fabricating a birthday for your child, just because you wanted 250 quid. And then you know, and it's happy birthday, and you just look at each them and go, it's not. It's not. It's tomorrow. And then on their 17th birthday, which they think is their 17th birthday, they want a driving lesson on their 17th birthday. And you don't want to tell them, you've been lying to them about their birthday for 17 years. So you take them out and then the police pull you over and look at the passport and it turns out you're driving illegally Rob. No but they're gonna have to forge it from the beginning. Oh yeah but you can't forge the birth, you can lie to people, you wouldn't be allowed to
Starting point is 00:22:49 forge the birth certificate. But then the kid would know earlier on than that holidays, pass. Yeah, I suppose you never take them abroad to keep the lie abroad. Starting point is 00:24:05 Oh, was it bad? Or did they get under the weather? Yeah, so my son who's eight months. Yeah. I mean, babies are always there, aren't they? Let's be honest. They're always snotty nose. But proper temperatures, cow pole being thrown around all over the bloody shop, all that tho that One night of particularly bad sleep where he just was in such a bad way that he was waking up every half an hour. Oh no. And so we realized the only way to keep him asleep, Rob was for him to be sleeping on someone. Oh no. So what would you have done?
Starting point is 00:24:39 Shifts. Did you do shifts? Yeah. So we realized this at 3.30 a.m. So I did 3.30. to. to. to. to. to. to. to.m.m.m.m.m. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. the the the their. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. tr. tr. tr. tr. tr. tr. tr. tr. tr. tr. to. to. to. th. to. the. the. the a.m. So I did 3.30 to 6.30 a.m. Sat in the dark in a chair holding the baby. Yeah you do want a virtual reality headset so you could I'm in the metaverse I'm not a dad a metaburse it's strip club. Oh no I woke of the baby so I yeah I sat there and listened to a series of podcasts about the aftermath of 9-11.
Starting point is 00:25:47 No you didn't. Yeah, I did actually, yeah it was quite good. I mean, I suppose you can't have funny ones, you don't want to wake the baby up laughing. Yeah, exactly. So you go for tragedy. It was pretty laugh-light. How do you get there? I've not really ventured into that sort of, of documentary. Well it was I looked at the documentary section and it was a string of documentaries called 912 which were about different
Starting point is 00:26:09 stories of things that sprung from 9-11. It was quite interesting so there's one on you know the Onion the American like the Fa-the-Funy fake news website. Oh yeah so it's about how they dealt with suddenly being in the situation where it was like and how all the late-night talk shows and stuff dealt with suddenly being in the situation where it was like and how all the late night talk shows and stuff dealt with doing comedy about 9-11. How can you make a bad situation worse? You're in the dark. It's an interesting documentary. Is it? Yeah, fascinating. And then there was one about a guy that that had made a documentaries about how it was an inside job 9-11 and how that, you know, like that stuff. Yeah, that was interesting. Oh, oh, that that that that that one, that that one, that one, that one, that one, that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that the thi. that was, that was, that was, that was, that was, that was, thi. thi. thi. thi. All right, I send you that one. So it was really interesting, but I mean, I'll be honest,
Starting point is 00:26:51 from about 545, it was fucking tough. The first two hours I'd say, once you've realized I'm here and this is it, it's quite calming. Do you know what I mean? Bit like when we talked to Tom Parry and he was in that mad situation where he's staying up all night with the baby's sleep room. It's acceptance. The acceptance and you suddenly go, so this is it, this is my life. And I don't mind at all. I'm just gonna sit here for two hours, three hours, and listen to podcasts, I'm their, I, I, I, I, I, their, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the acceptance, the acceptance, the acceptance, the acceptance, the acceptance, the acceptance, the acceptance, the acceptance, the acceptance, the acceptance, the acceptance, the acceptance, the, the, the, the, and the, and the, and the, and the, and the, and the, and the, and the, and the, and the, and the, and the acceptance, the acceptance, the a..... the a. the a. the a. the a. the a going to text me or email me or expect me to do anything. I'm just sitting here.
Starting point is 00:27:29 That's good. That's very good. You're in a very good mental space, Josh. Well I was until about 5.30 and then it was tough. Well that's the thing, it's, that's the key to it isn't? That's the key to it, isn't, because, that you, that you, that's, that's, that's, the key, the key, that's, the key, th, th, th, th, th, th, the, th. That's, th. That's, the, th. That's, the, the, the, th. That's, thi, the, the, the, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. That's, th. That's, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thin, thin, to. I's, th. Yeah, thin, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th't do anything about that is all you can do so just accept it. You know with something I can't get to sleep? Sometimes I'll just get up and come downstairs and watch tele for an hour rather and just tossing and turn and I'll get more worked up doing that in bed. You're better off just accepting it and going downstairs. Exactly. So it's actually a quite a pleasant night in a weird way. Oh was that one night you did that? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. the, th. the, th. the, I'm, I'm, I's, I's, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I's, I to just, I to just, I I. to just, I. to just, I. to just, I. to just, I. to just, I. to just, I. the the the the the the the tha. the tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tp. tppppppppppppppppppppppppp-I's just, I'm just, to hear that though, Josh. Well, you know, I'd say... It is the truth. I wouldn't say I'm bragging about this situation, Rob. I don't think anyone's jealous. I don't think anyone without kids is going, go,
Starting point is 00:28:13 I wish I could be up from 3 a baby for three to six. It makes feel sick. I'm just trying to enjoy myself and these people are like they're just so detached reality. Just don't understand what is like for normal people. Yeah. So but don't worry the week was mainly dog shit. But no, but I know that's just a good way of dealing with it I think just accepting it and getting on with it. I think there is something, you know the the the the the th, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th is something th, you th is something thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, you're thi, you're thi, you're thi, thi, thi, thi, just thi, the night, their, just their, just their, just thi, just thi, just thi, just thi, just just just just their their their their their their their their their their their just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just the night, just thin, just thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thii's thiii's thii's thi. I's just thi. I's just the night, just the there is something, you know when you've got a child that's generally bad at sleeping, or you've got a child that is ill and so the nights have just gone to total shit? I think that when the child's ill, it's actually not that difficult because you're like, this is just my life for the next three days, and there's nothing I can't do about it, so I'm just doing this. Whereas when it's like, is this my life for the next three years? That's when I'm like, oh I can't deal with this psychologically. No, but you know that they're, yeah, oh God. Is he all right? Yeah, he's all right.
Starting point is 00:29:11 Yeah, he's all right. He's desperate to crawl. He's trul. He's thel. I think it's RIP for their knickknacks. Well, you've been saying this for the last three years. I think boys are different. Well, you've got a the experience the experience, the experience, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. tho, tho, tho, tho, he's tho, he's tho, he's th. She's very gentle your daughter, very like precise and she's not interested in watching the world burn. I've got the feeling that he might be. Well you weren't listening to the podcast with you was he?
Starting point is 00:29:56 I obviously I didn't want to be I don't want to be selfish so I gave him one of my earbuds. Oh yeah it's had you know to 911 11 11. to to to to the podcast. to to to to the podcast. to to to the podcast. I to to the podcast. I to to be the podcast. I the podcast. I to be to be the podcast. I mean, if he's not listening to, you know, to 9-11 podcasts, eight moms, what is he doing? You got to learn about it. This is history now. We think of it as, you know, you know, something we live through. For our kids, Rob, that's history. referring to there Josh. No. That's just a tick-tock and Instagram real me. This is the problem Rob. If you ain't at the lake then where the fuck you at? And then if you ain't at Sighton Park in Tenerife where the fuck you at? It's a little thing that people take the piss out of. Yeah I'm not gonna lie to you. Yeah it's the kind? I just, modern popular culture has passed me by and I've just got to admit that to myself.
Starting point is 00:30:50 No, I think once you get, once your kids are getting a bit more sleep and you're, you're out, you've got time for that, you'll get into it again, mate. There's no way when I get at. Where the fuck you are? If you don't hear it, do you want to find it? No, I've not heard. I can hear it now Rob. I can't hear it. I can't look over like the original. It's just quite, I think it's quite a problem. I don't know if my reference points are off though or if it is real or not. You don't want you to hear it there. I'll hear it. Starting point is 00:31:32 I don't know any of these things. We were talking about this. The amount of things, like, um, for the live show, we we we the the the the the the the live, we the live, we the live, for the live, for the live, for the live, for the live, for the live, for the live, for the live, for the live, for the live, for the live, the live, the live, the the the the, the live, for, the the, th. thi, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the the the the the the th. Pony, I want it, you got it. That one. How do you know these things? Well, how do you not know them? It's like the full Monty song. You're like, you're like a time capture as a human. You sort of like, it got to blue Peter 2001,
Starting point is 00:31:58 and then you got filled it, it's sealed. Exactly, I'm done. I've learned all the things I need to learn. But then that's a popular cultural reference. That's the strip, if you think of the song, you must need to know that for stand-up, like the famous song for stripping. I'll be honest with you. I've never, any pointthe wrong show in that case. Anyway, genuine this one. That, that's quite famous. I just don't know these things.
Starting point is 00:32:34 So imagine oil, jeans, air force ones. We get, get it to the chorus. It does sound like a bloke's burping though, doesn't it? Yeah. Yeah, but that's the sexy song now. I just don't know what this is. See, I did watch a four-part documentary about the Chippendales recently. Maybe we could do a thing you could email in, does Josh know this? Yeah, all right, email in things.
Starting point is 00:33:06 The most famous thing you can find that I'm totally unaware of. Yeah, exactly. I think genuine, but that's quite niche. That's that's quite niche. That's that. That's got, you know, because that's fast things you think Josh won't know about but should that's a good one well my agent
Starting point is 00:33:28 my agent text to me on Friday Josh your agents left you 15 years ago no I know you still have an agent is younger than the agent actually my agent's younger than me actually my agent and she's like an Alan Parton actually my agent a little fun fact actually my agent is younger than me yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, big time, yeah. I just think being represented by a 10-year-old doing my career a lot of help. If you're aging 18 years old, where the fuck you are? I don't know what that is! Ha ha ha ha!
Starting point is 00:33:55 So what did your agent say to you, Josh? She text me and she said, all the text said was was, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that, that, th th th th th th th th th th to, th to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, th to, to, th the that, thi. that, that, th th to you Josh? She texted me and she said, um, she said, all the text said was, would you be interested in the hit list? What's the hit list? I don't know the hit list either, thank you. Is that, well, I said, I'm sorry, I don't know what you're talking about. Yeah. She was like, of course you don't. Like, like, as if that is it, that, that is, that is, that is, that is, that is, that is, that is, that is, that is, that is, that is, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that is, that, that, I that, I the, I the, I the, I the, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I, I, I, I, I, I, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't know, I don't know, I don't, I don't know, I don't, I don't know, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't know what it is either, Rob. Well, is it some sort of like radio thing? It's hosted by Marvin and Rochelle Hughes. Oh, that! I know what that is, yeah, the hit. Sorry, I thought it meant the, it was like a radio thing. It's their quiz show about music. You have to guess the songs? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:33 You didn't know about it. to be popular, Rob, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, th. It's, I th. It's, I th. It's, I th. It's, I th. It's, I that is, get him on here. I don't think I'm into anything that's popular anymore. Do you what I love about Marvin is, he's actually a bit South London, but he's sort of, he's got a bit of an ITV, smiley face, but like he says stuff like brav, like to me. I goes, oh yes, brav like that and Rochel was like, come on Marvin, let it out. He's from Woolidgeway, I think. Anyway, well, anything you think Josh should know about, but doesn't, is a good one. And then I can ask you about it and you can guess what it is maybe. Or you might know, you might know. I might know. Because I'm a celebrity, you've never watched that.
Starting point is 00:35:14 You've never watched it. They kept taking the tops off and showering and they didn't understand why. Just because they've got sexy bods and who don't want to see that? Who doesn't? Where the fuck you're out? If you ain't watching sexy bands and I'm a celebrity, where the fuck yeah? Oh God, anything else you want to talk about Josh before we do some emails I got drunk on Saturday? That was fun. Oh, went out and got drunk? Yeah. How was that? Yeah, great. I had a lovely time. And then Rose was so hung over, she couldn't get out of bed the whole of the next day. Oh, that's it. But she's bit, she did have COVID. I mean, if you're not in bed on a Sunday, yeah, yeah. Oh, oh, yeah, oh, yeah. Yeah, oh, yeah. Yeah, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just that's why it's sort of trending because it's such an easy one to replicate, isn't it? Yeah. Anyway, so she was in bed all day hung over.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Yeah, but she claims it's because you shouldn't mix alcohol with the after effects of COVID, but I'm not sure if that's the thing. I do think if you've th you have and getting smashed on the first day you're allowed out is not, it's probably not the best, is it? No, but you know, you live and learn. You live and learn, go on. Exactly. That's never going to be repeated that. Do you want some emails? This one's good, actually, I'm the one because I've got it up. Morning guys just to listen to today's episode about being the most tired and having to work. I used to loan work at

Starting point is 00:37:34 left the back window slightly open the day before. After all that the ice was on the inside of the car window. Oh my God. That's Zoe. What a horrible, horrible morning. Oh my God. Being tired is so shit. It's rubbish, Rob. I've got another tired than Josh. We'll do some more tired than Josh's and I've got a boomer to finish their off on.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Hi, I love the podcast. I can't wait to see you live. As you listen, we've done it. It was great. Thank you all for coming. What a night. Who'd have thought it ended that way? Hi, I love the podcast. So the funniest thing I've ever done on lack of sleep is go to work in odd shoes. I mean it depends on the shoes, didn't it? If it's like, you know, two converse, but one's like a bit a slightly darker shade. Yeah. But anyway, if you've got one like one running shoe and the world's. There's no more details on that. No, I'd like to know what shoes. You've got to give us more on that. Was it a slipper on a shoe? We need to know the shoes. Come on. Come on. Thinking of it now, I do not know ever how I performed my job to a good standard. But I think the answer is you probably didn't but they let it slide. Yes. It's another one about being tired.

I had to go amms you handed. That week, I also lost my hat, my gloves and my coffee mug.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Oh God. Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing ever came back to me. Proof if you you need it, that if you never sleep your brain starts dying. Lindsay Crush. I don't know I think that's a surname or it's just how she feels. 38 Norwich parent of a six and a ten year old. Lindsay crush. Poor old Lindsay crush. So if you never sleep your brain starts dying. So that's a good message to all of our new parents out there. Well yeah it's sleep because if you ain't sleeping well the fucking yeah sorry I'm sorry sorry right? Boom the parent. We'll do this since some busy shout out share. Yeah. My mom always threatened my brother and I that if we ever smoked and she found out
Starting point is 00:40:00 she would make a smoke an entire packet of six one after the other. Well. Well, thankfully, I never got caught, but my brother did. He was about 15 or 16 when she caught him with a 20 pack of lambour and butler. So she stayed true to her word and she sat him outside in a back garden on a fold-out, striped garden and made him smoke one cigarette after another. He got about five or six down and began to turn green. She got him a bucket and he was sick as a dog. But she made him smoke every last one in between bombs. He has never touched a cigarette since. It didn't stop me. I just didn't get caught. Thanks for being so sexy and unrelatable, Lisa from Chester.

No, no, yeah, yeah, there's four women that were 22. Right, yeah, just a debate.
Starting point is 00:43:35 Because it was a weird, I felt like I was at a crash. It felt like it was the tables next to a soft play. And they were at a disposal camera and they were like, yeah it's great. They went, oh it's great because what you do is like you take it to a shop and then get ones and it's actually on like a bit of paper. I know what it fucking is. Like it's new they was talking to me like it was Bitcoin. I know and then basically they take it because they like having them like you know and then because I think that's so many phone I've got Sony photos my phone you never look at them but if you take them it's from that night out. It's so funny because I was with my mate who's going for a divorce and she was like, he was like, she was explaining him.
Starting point is 00:44:31 He goes, I know what they are. I know what they are. I had one of my first wedding. Oh God. Anyway, so... Small business shout-out.
