This is Christine Brown, and while I have to listen to this podcast as my motherly duty,
you have the choice not to.
My sons sometimes say some naughty things when they're trying to be funny, but really,
they're just being stupid.
You still want to listen?
Go right ahead.
I am not your mother.
Welcome back to the P of Sinacy podcast.
That's right, we are still alive.
We are the only podcast, I suppose still, that is going back and re-watching all of
the games of the Page of Sinacy era.
We started in 2001 and we are working our way very slowly through 2005.
But we actually have the entire band back together this week.
So we have Steve, how you doing?
It's great.
I feel like I just did this yesterday.
You did?
Oh, it feels that way.
You know, just so natural, you know, it's like riding a bike.
You say that, but I've already forgotten the intro.
So obviously, we don't do this enough.
We also have Greg.
How you doing, Greg Brown?
Good.
Happy New Year.
Happy New Year. 25. Yeah, it's? I'm good. Happy New Year. Happy New Year.
25.
Yeah, it's going to be a good year.
Five years of podcasting.
Fuck, is it really?
Yeah, man.
We're actually first. That's 2019.
Yeah, and we're only through 2005.
2019.
And we're going slower than the actual...
Yes, we are. Yeah, we're not even doing a game a week.
We're never going to catch up at this rate.
No, we never will.
I think the dynasty is done
Well, yeah, there is that and also we have the Tim turn back. Oh, you're quite a hiatus. How you doing, bud?
I'm glad to be back with the brown boy
Well, that doesn't happen often. We don't hear that a lot. No, no, it's usually the opposite. Yeah
Fuckers yeah, I probably have some undies. By the
end of the episode, we'll get you there too. Don't you worry. Yes, we will. Yeah. It'll
be a reminder. Why? So we will jump into the game. I think we probably start with some
updates of what's been going on. Breaking news. Well, I suppose as far as this podcast
goes is breaking. Oh yeah. Yeah. it has happened in the last what six months
So yeah, it's breaking news
The Patriots have hired well fired the bill Belichick successor and hired his successor
sticking in the
line backing core of the
Former Patriots and they have now hired Mike Vrabel to be their head coach Greg Brown thoughts
I thought they should have gone with Dante Hightower and they have now hired Mike Vrabel to be their head coach. Greg Brown, thoughts?
I thought they should have gone with Dante Hightower.
Not Nico Coudavettis, whatever the hell his name was.
Andy Katzenmoyer, come on.
Andy Katz.
I think it's a good hire.
I'm excited.
More or less wins than last year.
More or less wins?
Yeah.
I mean, here's the thing, right?
We're gonna be bad this year, without a doubt.
Why do you say that?
Because there's just not enough talent on the roster.
Okay.
And I don't think that's a one-year fix.
So I'd rather bring in someone that has a,
because that's the thing, right?
You bring in Mayo and you kind of know
it's like not gonna go great and that it doesn't go great.
And everyone loses their minds
and they're like, he needs to be fired.
He kind of got to give someone that, you know, well, that's not why he was fired, but Greg, look at the commanders.
And they, I mean, yeah, they had a new coach, new coach and new quarterback.
And they surprise everyone.
I think if you look at both those franchises week one, like we started
wanting to know, we're like, oh, all right, there might be be something here and then I think the commander is at more talent on that roster than we have on ours
I think I would agree there
But I think it's not as far off as you coming in like they weren't expected to do they were supposed to be one of the worst
I mean they kind of were the one of worst secondaries
This so are yeah, I don't know, I feel
he has removed from a top 10 defense under Belichick.
It's not like they've had a lot of fun.
No, but me saying that, I think that like brain very boring, like they could,
there could be a quick turn on it.
It's like me really is, is good.
But I have, I have,
I think the turnaround is much more about how Elliott Wolf does than Mike
Priebel does.
You think Elliott Wolf stays? Yeah. That's what everyone's it sounds like that's what's happening. Yeah. Yeah, you don't I don't know
I mean I I saw a very good interview and he sounded pretty like yeah
It's the guy we're moving forward with but you know, anytime you bring in a new coach
I think there is that that question mark there.
Right. Of course. Well, we're all about memorializing the Patriots in this podcast.
Greg, you want to throw down some hot predictions?
Who? Well, let's do this prediction.
How many years will variable coach be the head coach of the New England Patriots?
I'll set the over under three.
Three. No, I'm sorry.
The over under three.
Three and a half call. You got to go to three and a half. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, I'm not the over under three. Three and a half call. You got to go to half.
Three and a half. Yeah. Yeah. I'll take the over. That's the thing though. It's either two or it's
like eight, right? Right. He gets past three. That means like things are good. Big May signing
another contract extension. Coach to like manage a good roster, but it's all about like, can he
turn the ship around?
I think.
I mean, he's done it once, right?
Yeah.
He did it in Tennessee.
So I don't think that's the issue.
I think it's, can you win in the playoffs?
But again, I think that roster had a lot more,
Derek Henry, granted he drafted AJ Brown.
There was a bunch, you know, Jeffrey Simon, you know,
there was a lot of pretty good players on that team.
And I just, the Patriots, like who do you who can you like
hang your hat on besides Gonzalez and May?
Farmore is he going to play again?
I don't know. Is that guy even like that's the only thing.
He's the only other guy.
And it's complete question mark. Stevenson.
Stevenson is like bottom half running back, probably.
Mr. Fumble Ruskie.
Yeah.
To put Hunter Henry.
Yeah, Gregory, there's very little corners on town,
but like there was a little,
there's your overstated Tennessee roster too.
I think so.
Yeah. Well, I mean, I think he has to hit on the draft, right?
Yeah.
And I think even him being here probably helps free agency of like,
and Drake May is going to help free agency obviously.
Right.
So I think they'll have a better chance at like actually getting people in the door.
Can he hit on draft picks?
That's probably going to pan out in two to three years.
So let's do a more short term hot prediction.
What position did the Patriots spend their first pick in the draft on?
That's a good question.
That's a really good question.
Now, especially with Brayrabel who is like,
Yeah, Mr. Trenches and everyone else slamming the table
for a wide receiver.
Yeah.
And then what a Travis Hunter,
is there athlete a position?
Wow.
I did see an interview with Vrabel where they were like,
yeah, you're gonna come in and be the running game,
you know, tough identity.
He was like, we just played to our strength.
We had Derek Henry, you know, like you, you kind of kind of got to play to that.
And he's like, if we have a team that has the talent to be like a throw the
ball over the field, he's like, that's what we'll do.
I'm not opposed to that.
He's like, but I'm going to, you know, play to our strengths.
So that kind of made me like, Hey, maybe this could go a few different ways as
far as like what the offense looks like.
Uh, I'm going to go offensive line.
I think it probably is right.
I mean, oh, defensive line.
He has just, he's talked about nothing but like the trenches and
protecting the quarterback.
Yeah.
And if you look at the teams that are still in the playoffs right now, what
are they doing?
One thing they all have in common is a good offensive line.
So do you want them to draft? I don't give a shit.
Travis.
I want them to be drafting number one is all I want.
I'm fucking winning that last game.
Yeah.
There's a great Bill Simmons is talking about it and how basically what they did is they
traded down in the draft and in exchange they got a player
named Jack shit.
He's like talking about getting a jack shit jersey.
Well, they were talking about people, quarterback needy teams calling about Milton after that.
Hell yeah.
He looked awesome.
Oh yeah.
He was exciting to play in the Bills third stringers you know, it's still a live football game. Yeah. I mean,
it's the NFL. Right. Yeah. It's not preseason. These guys all made a roster. Yeah. They look
better than the Bills backups did. All right. I'm going to say the Bages draft defensive end.
Oh, the guy at Penn State. Yeah. Yeah. That guy's sweet. He's super sweet and like the tackles are a reach.
It's a whole new experience watching college football now.
That's my.
Really? Yeah.
You're like, oh, shit.
Look at this guy. He's dominant.
What do you have to be?
Laura, Laura, look at number 11.
Yeah.
Look who he turns the corner there. Yeah.
We're grabbing.
He's got a good bad shoulders. the corner there. Yeah. See that one we're grabbing? He's got a good bend. Shoulders low.
Bend the edge.
Yeah.
A lot of guys could do that.
He's real slippery.
That's what you want.
You want him off of you.
You want to be slippery.
That's the thing, right?
Like we have no like evaluating talent.
So to be like, oh, I want this guy or that guy.
I based it purely on like who would be the most fun to watch.
And I think Travis Hunter
is the answer. Travis Hunter, yeah. Just be what he looks like in the NFL is going to be really cool.
Yeah, I agree. Don't the pages already have that though in Jonathan Jones? Two-way play?
Marcus Jones. Marcus Jones, yeah. There's too many Joneses. Mom and dad, can we get a Travis
Hunter? No, son, we already have a Travis Hunter at home.
That is the perfect cop right there.
All right.
Well, speaking of underperforming Pages team, should we jump into this 2005 season?
Yeah, I know the people are dying for it.
Yeah, I think so.
That's why they come here.
I don't think they're here for our live hot takes and our draft predictions.
So also wait before that, can we talk about how I can't believe Drake May was getting
engaged to his fiance instead of being at Mike Vrabel's press conference?
What a fucking ass.
That was announced 24 hours prior.
This is like what they've been talking about on.
Yeah, yeah. Oh yeah. That's funny. 24 hours prior. This is like what they've been talking about on Bosses.
Yeah, that's funny.
Felgar made a huge thing about it and every he's gonna get like crazy backlash from what
I've seen on.
Hey, that man's an artist.
He got a real respect.
I don't hate the player.
I love the game.
I despise the game.
Yeah, I don't even hate the game. I love them both.
You would.
Because if you take it for what it is, and it's just entertainment, he's trying to piss you off.
It's really, it really is funny how he twists himself into a pretzel and is like just angry man, like just yelling at the...
Yeah, he's just trying to find the negative in whatever way possible
But sometimes he's just making up a fan that he just finds and he's like
Like that. Yeah, yeah completely straw mania. All right, Andy, what would he have said about this game?
That the the dynasty is over
Brady doesn't have any more
He was always overrated and they should cut him and start where the fuck the backup is. I don't even know who's the back up
2005 team now bishops welcome
Jesus
Let's see a roster
Jesus
Maybe was he still there with Kingsbury? No, it was a
Uh, Kingsbury. Oh, interesting.
David was still there with Kingsbury.
No, it was a rookie out of, well, that will give it away.
So I'm not gonna tell a rookie out of USC.
Correct.
Matt Castle's a backup.
Oh, Matt Castle.
And behind him, Clif Kingsbury.
Damon Heward.
No, even way more fun.
Vinnie Testaverde.
Uh, this is his 19th year in the sea in the league, you know far off Greg
Five by the Los Angeles Rams one Douglas Flutie. Yeah
Woody's on the scene. I said this is a drop. I was just gonna ask if this is drop cake. Yeah
I think it might be yeah, we'll come across it at the end.
At least Doug Flutty was with us for a year.
It would be a crime if he wasn't.
Yeah.
I think he was before that, before he left for the...
Yeah.
...FFL.
I mean Canadian football.
Yeah, he played with the Patriots like way back.
It is sad that Ryan Fitzpatrick never played for the Patriots.
Right.
He seems pretty salty about the Patriots just generally. Every
time I hear him talk about him. Well he's played for every other AFC East team and got the shit kicked out of him for years. That's true, he has. He's thrown a lot of recept has never thrown five. Four is the most he's ever thrown.
And this was the fourth time he's done it out of six in 2005.
So he'll do it two more times in the rest of his career.
It's pretty impressive.
Not bad.
You'd think NBC would be on top of it, but when he threw his third interception, they
showed that it was tied for most in his career.
And then when he threw his fourth interception, they showed that it was tied for his career
high. So they were
they were right on top of that.
AI assistant is what they need.
And they had one apparently.
Where's our AWS AI assistant would do is
that's exactly right. Yeah. Yeah. How many how many times does
the letter S show up in success? That's AI can I can't do it. Yeah, I guess it wrong
Even if you're asking to explain itself, it'll it'll count incorrectly and then tell you the wrong one
It's awesome
Yeah, but as bad as NBC was the commentators not so bad and you want to know why Greg Greg you want to know why?
Why Andy because it was Dick Emberg and Rich Gannon, but do you know who was supposed to be there instead of Rich Gannon?
Dior. Yeah, Dan Dior was out.
What's wrong with him? Tell me, Jake.
What do you think was wrong with him?
Yeah, I didn't pay too much attention to that comment.
Yeah, they were fine. Rich Gannon, I actually kind of don't mind Rich Gannon. He's not bad. And I did start a Tony Gonzalez basketball mentions count,
but they only did it once.
So, you know, not too bad.
I think it's better here.
Like is this the real Andy Brown?
Yeah. The last couple of the last couple of actually had nice things to say
about the I don't know what's going on.
A lot of B will blame a lack of sleep, I think.
And I smell one out in his old age, you know? Time has passed.
I haven't slept in three years.
That's what it is.
So let's just do a quick check in on these Patriots.
We're talking about every episode, but because it's been so long, we'll bring it up again.
This team is absolutely ravaged with injuries, especially at defensive back and running back.
Both backfields absolutely just trashed.
Ever since Rodney Harrison went out with a season ending injury, they've had, I think,
six starters at strong safety.
Right now it's Antrel Hawkins, which if you can tell me the jersey number, Greg, I will
buy it for you. Antrel Hawkins? Antrel Hawkins, which if you can tell me the jersey number Greg, I will buy it for you
Entrel Hawkins Entrel Hawkins and so back
Or are our our trial Hawkins? I don't even know. Where is he? I think our trial Hawkins, correct?
Or I would you say Greg 47? Yeah, you want for a 27? Okay
Well 25 for the pass. He's 27 for the Bengals and Panthers
Yeah, so he was starting at strong safety
That's great. You had a Santa Samuel in his third year starting and Ellis Hobbs opposite him rookie year Ellis Hobbs
Hobbs actually look pretty good except he had a couple of soft passing affairs calls on him. Yeah. And he was mused. We made a game of 65 yard touchdown.
Yeah. Immediately after giving up a passive interference.
Keep. Well, that was the soft passive interference.
That was the problem.
Too busy buckling his.
He didn't have a short enough memory as a problem.
He's doing the Greg Brown, still bitching at the ref
while the play is heading down the other way.
How? Oh, way. How?
Oh yeah.
Yeah, I was Greg A. Kitchen ricochets.
You've never seen Greg Brown play soccer?
Loves to bitch at the ref.
I do not bitch at the ref.
We have photographic evidence of you bitching at the ref.
I was making a suggestion.
Instructive criticism?
Yeah, yeah. You know, it's Andy. Yeah.
Was that 55 yarder to Dante Hall? Yes. The human joystick. I have. I have.
That's an elite name. Dante. That's what I figured. So I thought that that might be a good time to jump into Dante Hall.
Well, do we want to do you want to go over this Chiefs team before we jump into that? Alright let's do that. This is actually kind of an
underrated Chiefs team I think. This Chiefs team is awesome. Yeah this is Dick Vermeel
running the Chiefs and they at the beginning of this game they talk about
how he's been battling Bill Belichick since Belichick was the defensive
coordinator of the Giants when he was Dick Vermeel was the head coach of the Eagles.
So this has been like a long standing thing.
They got Trent Green starting at quarterback.
Most well known in terms of like tying to the paths is that he was the starting quarterback
for the Rams back in 2000, no not 999, 2000, got injured out for the season
on a hit by Rodney Harrison, of all people, which opened the door for Kurt Warner to take
over and start the greatest show on turf, which would then lose to the Patriots and
the Super Bowl in 2001, the more you know.
He's actually kind of an underrated quarterback generally, I think.
Like, he was actually really good on that Rams team.
And coming into this game, he was the second best Chiefs quarterback behind Len Dawson,
of all people.
Probably third best now.
He made the Pro Bowl.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, he's like a quality quarterback that I think people just forget.
He's one of those under the radar guys who doesn't have the name.
Like a Rich Gannon.
Yeah, same sort of thing. Rich G but him over alex smith yeah train green's gotta be better
than alex i would think so yeah that's what was good he was good but he wasn't pretty good cops
because they both have like horrible yeah and super generic names too yeah and just like the
super generic like white guy quarterback looks as well for the time. Yeah.
I think that's like a great comp.
From Matt Castle in there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That Matt Castle look.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
The stereotypical like make a player in Madden sort of thing where you just like hit the
auto button and that's what comes up first before you start putting yourself in.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
But he also had some help on this offense.
Tony Gonzalez obviously was, I can't remember exactly what the stat was, but something like
he's the only tight end to have 50 or more receptions in like five or six seasons in
a row or something stupid.
This is week 12, he's already has 50, but he only also only has one touchdown catch
this season, which is surprising.
I see your stats as two Andy.
What's that? His touchdowns, which is surprising. I see your stats as to Andy. Hmm. Hmm.
Hmm. What's, what's that?
His touchdowns.
I think two 905 yards, two TDs.
Uh, at this point in the season, he had one.
Oh, well, can't believe you only ends with two.
Right.
How many receptions did he have to like, he's got a bunch of them.
That's not in your stats.
Um, and the real thing is they're running back core. That's stable that stable of, right now it's Larry Johnson,
but he's in for an injured Priest Holmes who was, you know, 1500 yard back for like four
or five seasons in a row.
And then he gets hurt.
Larry Johnson gets drafted and steps in and just like basically picks up the reins, runs
for a hundred yards a game.
The week before this, he ran for 211 yards.
And I think Steve will love this, his idol growing up,
the one and only Eddie George, which is why he wears 27.
Because he runs exactly like him, looks exactly like him.
Yeah.
I mean, those two backs combined
break Eric Dickinson's record.
Yeah.
It's pretty crazy.
I mean, yeah, these guys are- guys are like back to back seasons, right?
Yeah.
No, yeah.
They just have a.
So you think that's the strength of their team, Andy?
The runbacks?
Oh yeah.
Uh, yeah.
That's why you guys don't know ball.
It's the offensive line.
Well, obviously I know ball.
You don't know.
Willie Rowe.
Real though.
They had three pro balls on this offensive line.
Willie Rowe, Brian Shields, Brian Waters, actually like man with human beings.
Yeah. Brian Waters, future patriot.
Right. Yep.
And you know that.
Yeah. It was towards the end of his.
I don't know. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. That's right.
Greg, did those guys have any all pros?
Probably. I would think really.
I think some of the they had had a couple of all pros.
What did Chris Berman used to call Willie Rowe?
He had a great nickname for him.
Oh yeah.
I want to say it's like Willie Meat Rowe, but I feel like that's too...
Yeah, or Rowe Beast.
It was something like that, yeah.
I'll look it up.
I'll look that up.
Stat check.
But yeah, I mean this...
Thank God we got our stat checker back, huh?
I know.
Thank God. We missed you.
You know, like Greg trying to do it.
Yeah.
Greg's just like, you try to tell him how to clean a pool.
He just goes, nah.
I know better than you.
Good.
So yeah, so starting in 2001 when I think Holmes came over
to the Chiefs from the Ravens he had 1,500 yards
and 8 touchdowns, 2002 1,600 yards and 21 touchdowns like they score a shit ton of
touchdowns on the ground in this team. 2003 had 1,400 yards and 27 touchdowns
and then 2004 he gets hurt. Holmes goes for 892 almost 900 yards and 14 touchdowns
before he goes down. Johnson steps in and goes for 500 yards almost 900 yards and 14 touchdowns before it goes down. Johnson's Epstein goes for 500 yards,
almost 600 yards, another nine touchdowns.
That's what, 23 touchdowns.
And then Johnson's Epstein in 2005 runs for 1700 yards
and 20 touchdowns this year that we're in.
And then falls up with 1700 yards again
and 17 touchdowns the year after.
So they just like an absolute meat grinder on the ground.
Yeah, but their defense was terrible.
Right.
That was like the mediocre.
I was surprised at how high they were ranked.
Um, there were 16th in points and, um, 25th in yards.
So Lee, but the whole Dick Vermeel era in Kansas city has been like wicked,
awesome offense, terrible.
Yeah. And like playoff offense, terrible defense. Yeah.
And like playoff choking, right?
Wasn't that his thing?
Which is kind of-
Which doesn't have to fall apart in the playoffs.
It's like, no, not really.
They only made the playoffs twice,
I think in the five years.
Well, they weren't-
What's that no pun game against Paint Man?
Oh, that's right.
That's right, yeah.
That wasn't really a choke job.
That was just a shootout.
Yeah.
Well, this season they actually finished 10 and six and second in the AFC West, but they still didn't make the playoffs because it was.
And then they fired. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. In, in his dig for meals.
So Oh one to Oh five, the offense was in, uh, points fifth, fourth, second,
first, first and defense was 23rd, 32nd, 29th, 31st, and 25th. So that one year,
they were first and 31st, which that's hard to watch. Yeah. Right. That's exciting. That's
some entertaining football. Yeah. So what's like the this year equivalent of that team then,
that approach of the lions maybe? Yeah, that's pretty bad defense.
Their defense is sneaky bad.
That's true.
But they're just lighten them up on offense.
Yeah. And they're wicked fun to watch.
Yeah, super fun.
Because I'm just pumped that somebody's actually
taking my idea of downfield laterals seriously.
Yeah.
There needs to be more of that.
I know. Everybody's been saying that.
And it's like you see it work every time they try it.
I've been saying it for years because it's all about angles.
You get everybody moving.
Like rugby.
You just get some rugby coach in there to give you some tips.
I bet.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Obviously the risk goes up, but whatever.
Maybe we should message Rebel.
I feel like they should bring more backwards lateral with no time on the clock when you're trying to run the
clock out and then just the other player for them to return it for a touchdown.
CB With your really unathletic quarterback,
you just get steamrolled by some freak athlete. Yeah.
CB That's great.
RG Bring more of those. They should incorporate more of those in a modern NFL offense.
CB I think so too.
RG That's just my opinion though.
CB Let's do it. Or put your broken down tight end covering, uh,
on the very place. Hey, it worked until it didn't. It is true. So you want to talk about
Dante Hall because that's it there, right? You have this great offense. You also have
the ultimate special teams weapon.
I think you returned two kicks for touchdowns this season alone. Yeah. So he's kind of, well, yeah. The thing about Dante Hall, like that's what I like doing
this podcast because you kind of go back and get the context. You're like, I remember Dante Hall
being awesome, but like how awesome was he? And like, if you compare his numbers to some of these
other guys like Hester, like over
a career, those guys were way more longevity, like Josh Cribbs, those kinds of guys.
If you look at a small window of Dante Hall Peak, it is better than anybody has ever been
in the history of the NFL.
He flamed bright.
Yeah.
There's this like end of 2002, beginning of 2003 window where he's just
like electric untouchable. Yeah. So he didn't really do much his first couple of years. He
was like a running back. They converted him to receiver when Bromiel showed up and he like
caught a couple of touchdown passes. Obviously he had a lot of talent, right? Well, so the end of 2002, he has, uh, four touchdowns in the last four games.
I think three of them were returns.
Like, all right, we got something here.
Right.
So they roll into 2003 and he starts 2003 with, uh, return touchdowns
in weeks, two, three, and four.
And, uh, the, the week four one is like against the Broncos,
it's tied. There's like five minutes left in the fourth quarter and he houses the point. And it's
like, holy shit, this guy's awesome. They go there, start four now. And then they, week five,
they get a match up with Denver. Both of them are four now. And like they they the opening kickoff, they squib it. And
Vermeer had this like little trick play where he ladders up to somebody and that guy had like a
huge return. And they're like avoiding them all game. Oh my god. And it's like, eight minutes left
in the fourth quarter down 2317 Broncos are punting. And he you know, the whole stadium is like, it's Dante Hall time. They're down six.
They're down six and they punt it.
And it's the one you think of when you think of Dante Hall, you know, the whole thing runs backwards, backwards, like twice,
almost goes in the end zone. Yeah.
And then house calls it says a 93 yard punt.
Basically. And then they win the game on that. They win 24, 23,
fucking arrowhead losing their minds. And it's like, punt return basically and then they win the game on that they win 24 23 fucking
arrowhead losing their minds and it's like that is like the peak hype I
remember of like yeah yes he was fucking like the front lead on sports center
like everyone was doing the X thing yeah that's cool yeah throwing up the X yeah
so I mean he like after that I think they kind of started like
punting away from him and stuff like that but he still he had seven touchdowns
in ten games. Oh my god. Ten and thirteen I think which is if you take Hester's
best span ever was seven and thirteen. Wow. So his peak is like you know the
higher peak than Hester's ever was. Unbelievable. He's the Unbelievable player to have four straight games with a punt return or to our
kick return for a touchdown.
Jesus.
That's insane.
Four games in a row.
Mark is like after game two, you like maybe we should fucking avoid this guy.
He's got games in a row house today.
And that's the best thing about sports too, right?
Is like, when you know that it's happening every time they're punting,
you're like, okay, everybody's on a huge career.
And then if you keep doing it, it's's like the it must have been so sick to be in that
stadium against the Broncos yeah yeah like that that really shows you that
they'd like I mean it only happens every so often but where like special teams
that there are crucial yeah do you think Dante Hall and slash or Devin
Hester would have had a better career had they been playing like this day and age, you know,
where like their skill sets would be so much more valuable than it was when
fucking pre-somes running at 31 times for 117 years touchdowns.
All right. Yeah.
Like Ben Johnson, Mary, you know, like downfield lateral with Dante
Halls type guys, you know, he who fucking love that. That's true.
I guess you'd take the right coach too, right? Cause yeah.
They just like one more of those coaches now. That's like, yeah.
Yeah. The game has spread out a lot.
It'd be interesting to see it. Cause I mean,
we haven't really had like a must see return guy probably since Hester
Cribs, right? Uh, what's his name?
He's been there. I picked Aaron's role here and there, but he was like kind of in that. Maybe since Hester Cribbs, right? What's his name?
He's been in pictures.
Aaron's role here and there,
but he was like kind of in that.
What about, what's his name?
Yeah, I know you're talking about Steve.
He's still a guy, god damn it.
Yeah, and he went to the Falcons after.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, Cordero Patterson.
Patterson, yes.
He was good.
It is, he's still playing, man.
He's still kicking.
I think he was probably the closest
because he was still returning kicks for a while. He's sort of a different style. What off rod? Yeah, he did. Yeah, he was yeah. He's just like a big dude
Yeah, wake it fast. Yeah
I feel like they don't risk the players anymore either like magic high-rec returning punts. That's true. Yeah, that's good point
You know, maybe I think it's just a different thing like Like Edelman was in Edelman. Yeah, he had a few.
Yeah, I think he had a 93 yarder as well against the Dolphins.
I think it was his longest most fun playing football.
Oh, but for touchdown.
Oh, yeah. Pick six is up there.
Fat Man Interception.
That's probably the most hype you get.
Yeah. Fat Man Kick return.
Fat Man Touchdown.
And I can't even call it because it only happened like
once.
That's what I'm saying.
But that Dan Colley, the fact that he didn't make any end goal is actually travesty.
If you got a touchdown, that play like retires like the ESPN top 10.
Like, because there isn't a better play than that.
Wasn't he like, didn't he get like, wasn't he out for like half the year after that took he got a fat concussion?
Oh, I don't know. Maybe I remember he was out for the next series
Because he had to line up as an offensive lineman because they had the ball in the four
With like 15 seconds to play or something in the half. He's like I can't do it
I don't I don't have the gas they had to send in the what they had to call it time or something. Yeah
I don't, I don't have the gas. They had to send in the, well, they had to call it time or something.
Yeah.
It was running with like a loaf of bread.
I love that.
We switched hands at one point.
That was, oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
He's actually pretty fast.
I'm saying, yeah, probably faster than you or I.
That's the crazy part.
Oh, cool.
As Dante hall is he, you know, only had, um, half a yard better on an
average return than Tim Dwight did in this game.
In this game. Tim Dwight's a good different kind of kick returner. Tim Dwight just runs
headlong into traffic and waits to get tripped up basically and then dives forward for an
extra five or six yards. Every kick return looks like a car crash with that dude. Tim Dwight
walked or crawled so that's what he's doing Yeah He's a walking concussion though, isn't he? Oh, yeah, I think so. Yeah. Yeah. He's fucking eaten out of a straw these days
I bet he's he's awesome. Callie for sure. Yeah, like pretty awesome
Callie, I was gonna say we should put a highlight tape together to try to get him on the pod
But just because of that you just definitely ruined and being like, yeah
There's not a chance he'll listen to this. I was going to say you say that like anybody.
Yeah, with the way that Tyrone Poole. Tyrone Poole has scarred Tim for life.
And I love it. Every time you're here.
Speaking of interceptions. Are we going to Troy Brown? No, we're going to the Chiefs player.
Have you ever heard of Greg Wesley before?
Yes, actually I have.
Oh yeah?
Because this is sad.
When I was at the Masters last year and I thought I was going to meet Tom Brady and
I missed him by one day, I looked up which game we had next on the podcast and I thought I was going to meet Tom Brady and I missed him by one day. I looked up which game we had next on the podcast and I must have been one game off and it was this game and I was going to
talk to Tom Brady about Greg Wesley and how he threw fucking three interceptions to this guy
and do you remember that Tom? I have a podcast where I'm rewatching all the games
and that was April of last year. It's like a mid January next year. You were a year off. There's no way
We've done one fucking episode. We haven't done
eight months
Yeah, and the best part is you're like, oh, I memorized this thing to tell it
It sounds like oh what player is it and you couldn't remember?
When we asked you about it, I was. This is not really called memorizing.
I knew it.
I would have known in the moment.
I'm like Tom Brady.
Put me on the spotlight.
So I looked it up.
Tom Brady hasn't thrown more than three Inceptions to a defender in his career.
Is there only one?
No, there are a handful.
There are one, two.
In one game? Ten, 11, 12.
I think this is the only person he's thrown it to in one game.
Gotta be.
But some of the other names on here makes sense.
And Antoine Winfield.
Yeah.
Does not have three.
No.
Ed Reed's gotta have three.
You gotta think in the in the division.
Yeah. One of them was in this game actually.
Surtan? Uh, not close. Tila does not have three interceptions. I believe he does have a pick six
though. He's definitely intercepted Brady. I know. Oh yeah. Sammy Knight. Sammy Knight, yes, is one
of them. Let's see. Patrick Surtan. Patrick Surtan. Patrick Surtan Jr. Patrick
Surtan Jr. No, not Patrick Surtan. Did they over they probably overlapped a little bit.
You want me to give you some? They did right. Tom Brady may have thrown at least one interception
to Patrick Surtan Jr. Jr. Yeah, for sure. Wait, has Tom Brady ever thrown an interception to a father son duo?
That's like they throw one to Mike Adams and Sam Adams. I don't think they're related. Jair Alexander and Lorenzo.
What about Revis? Is Revis on there? Revis is one of them. Yeah, he has three. That was one that I think you were gonna be
angry that you didn't get. Who else? Bill? Mike Adams. Who the fuck that is?
Mike Adams.
Antoine Bethay.
Sam Adams.
Sam Adams, yeah.
Yeah, he was a defensive back for...
The other guy from the Bills.
Nate Clements.
Nate Clements, yep.
Antonio Cromardi.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Antonio Cromartie.
Antoine Bethay, Drayton Florence. Chargers guy. Bob Sander.
Bob says I have three. Uh, because Dion Grant.
I have nothing. Uh, there's Jaguars, Seahawks,
giants. Um, Sammy Knight, Bobby McCain. Imagine being Bobby McCain.
Yeah, I have three interceptions off Tom Brady.
Everyone's like, bullshit.
I was like, who the fuck are you?
He's got that.
He has that.
Play for the Dolphins.
You even play in the NFL, Bobby?
Get out of here, bro.
Twenty fifteen.
Greg Wesley be like, I did it three times in one game.
Yeah, Falcon Hue.
Delta O'Neill obviously Delta
Boy, Greg Wesley Marcus
Is the last one by Saloma?
Marcus Williams Saints and Ravens
Probably when he was playing
the the Tampa Bay, so
How many assumptions did he throw? I can only imagine what Tom Brady would have been like, Hey,
remember this fucking Greg Wesley guy who picked you up three times?
He'd probably been like, Oh, happy and shit.
He's at the fucking the masters and big office.
Fucking guy. Fuck you.
260.
I remember that guy. He was on like the chiefs or something.
And then I'll be like, what the fuck is going on?
No, I was ready for I had
prepped all of the staff there for this I was like I had gone fucking person to
person and said hey Tom Brady comes I need to I need to talk to him and then I
got fucking Josh Allen instead Tom Brady comes so why didn't you you should have said something to Josh and been like, Hey, the next.
Oh, this is like in like, I was all ready for Tom Brady and got Josh Allen, you know,
what a fucking. Josh down to earth. Yeah. He was super cool. Yeah. Yeah. His entourage
is all right. He was actually very super show because we were all like the staff there, you know,
seen, but not heard sort of stuff.
Yeah. But he was like talking directly to us and talking directly.
Oh, my God. He looked us in the eyes.
It's great. We have to look at the floor.
Yeah. Well, apparently Tom didn't do that.
The next time I wish I was rich, I didn't have to talk to the help. Yeah.
How does this golf simulator work?
Just like a naked girl. Yeah.
Snap my fingers. You you there.
The Josh Allen can forget drive the fuck out of a wall.
He can hit the shit.
I know shit. He's like six, seven, two, 35.
Of course, he didn't.
He didn't seem like that.
Don't like a Greek god. Yeah.
You see the biceps on that guy.
He didn't seem overly gigantic. I thought he was going to be bigger than he actually was. His thighs. Jesus.
We're gonna have to isolate that Steve. I thought he's bigger than I thought he was.
So Tim, I saw you laugh for a second. They weren't talking about Tom Brady. That was all about Josh
Allen just so you're aware. Oh yeah. Which you know, Josh Allen, Ryan Tannehill, not good.
Not good, yeah.
On the record, Josh Allen, not a good quarterback.
Did you say that to him Steve?
Did you let him know?
I went, I went one, I was gonna think about telling him,
if I had more time, I was like, yeah, well, you know,
I went for one for one, for two, all that.
At least Ryan T Ryan Daniel confirmed sucks.
And now we have our own Josh Allen.
It just took like six years for your Daniel to get there.
It took variable leaving, right?
Yeah, it was.
That's right.
The quarterback whisper.
That's right.
Imagine what you can do with a real quarterback.
Yeah.
Imagine we could do with Josh Allen.
Yeah. Imagine what you could do with Josh Allen. Yeah. So speaking of defenses, the Pages defense hung in there actually, surprisingly, partially
because they got Seymour back, which is good to see.
That man can just throw human beings around like, like he's just ragdolling them.
It'd be like Greg playing against a bunch of third graders in soccer.
He's just like a different size to other people.
They tried to run a, the chiefs tried to run a reverse or an end around and
variable like, Oh, not very well.
Um, Seymour just sniffed it out and just caught, I don't even remember who it was.
Um, whoever the wide receiver was coming around the edge and just caught him and
just picked him up, just kind of like tossed them on the ground, like a little
stuffed animal, Eddie Kenison.
That feels like an Eddie Kenison thing to happen.
Yeah.
Sammy Parker.
Could have been, but it was just like, he's not even trying.
It was like, you know, taking it was like, you know, you throw your clothes in the
corner, your dirty laundry, it was just like that.
It was just like this really nonchalant, like, I was going to toss you on the
ground.
He just like flew over on the ground.
So it's good to have him back.
Um, and they needed it because this is Larry Johnson
in his prime, again, who had run for 211 yards
the week before, still finished with over 100 yards,
but on 31 carries, like Steve said.
So under four yards of carry for Larry Johnson,
not too bad, especially when you're starting
street free agents.
There was, who did I see?
Yeah.
I don't want to be Monty Beisel and Larry is playing linebacker.
And I kind of remember them.
Yeah.
Not, not playing linebacker.
Michael stone starting and getting seven tackles.
This is what I mean.
What?
This is his defense.
Um, only started three games his entire NFL career all in this year.
yeah yeah he uh I feel like they were trying him at strong safety for a while
it just wasn't working out and so they're trying to like move him around
because they just they're decimated but the second quarter alone this defense
holds the Chiefs to one two three four field. Just with Brady throws two back to back interceptions,
setting up the chiefs in like great field position.
Chiefs drive down inside the red zone and the Patriots hold them both times.
And some just gutsy defense, Greg.
It was gutsy.
I mean, shit. Mike Wright has a tackle.
This one, I mean, like just on Davis Monte.
I kind of remember Monte Beisel.
Monte Beisel, yeah, is on the cheese, I guess.
Yeah. Never again, though, right?
They got Don Hawkins.
Yeah. So this might be my they're down.
19 to three at the half.
Just given up field goals.
Like you should have been worse, but the Pages kept bending and not breaking. Given a giving up field goals off right now. You should have been worse, but the pages kept bending and not breaking, giving a bunch
of field goals, um, up until, um, the Dante hall touchdown, deep touchdown and 26 to three
at that point.
Um, and I wrote, this is where most teams would give up.
Um, but it was kind of refreshing to see, here we go.
Spin zone.
Andy, it was refreshing to see vintage Tom go spins on it. It was refreshing to see the vintage Brady
vintage Tom Brady gave up.
I tell you, these multimillionaires that get paid
and they only have to play 16 games a year, they didn't give up.
How many teams do, though?
Oh, especially now.
Let me blow you.
You see them go down 26 to three and they're like, all right,
we're just going to I'm not giving anybody credit for that.
We'll get them next week.
OK, that's where I draw the line is trying in an NFL game.
I've seen your.
Well, Greg, we wish they hadn't tried that fucking last NFL game
of the seasons this year that would have been fucking.
We got jack shit out of it, Steve. What do you mean?
Hey, so, Andy, I got a question. Yeah.
So do you think that the team was like, wow, because I got a question. Yeah.
So do you think that the team was like,
well, because that was real quiet, I couldn't hear a word.
Yes, you can.
Like, bro, the Tim's Russies, you realize.
Yeah, I just tell you guys, I was there.
Do you think that the Patriots lost the game because Brady had a bad game or like
you think it was on him, the interception study through threw or you think it was. Or was it all checks?
Both, Andy. Yeah.
Uh, I think at least two of these interceptions, if not three, were on Brady.
He was just I think he was trying too hard and just overthrowing everybody.
Everything was high. And so three of the interceptions were off outstretched
fingertips into the waiting hands of what the fuck his name was, Greg Wesley. Actually the fourth one was in garbage
time. Yeah it was... Yeah, at that point it was like chucking it down reigns and
you know they're down two scores or whatever. But they're still trying hard.
Well Brady leads back to back touchdown drives
and the Patriots defense actually gets
their first red zone turnover of the season
in between that.
So, and Brady's running for a first down on third and 10
on the first round.
Like Brady like running the ball.
Like he was the third leading rusher on
the Patriots in this game. I saw a thing. The second leading rusher was Tim Dwight on two
ender hands. Patrick passed at 26 yards. Yeah. I believe Tom Brady's longest run of his entire
career is in this season. Against the Bengals? I can't remember what it was. I know it was against
the Bengals but I don't know what it was. Yeah, was it like 16 yards? Yeah
It was 26. Oh, maybe it was not an impressive run. No, no, no, no, it was none of those
A Clydesdale Gallop
It was one of those top 10 things top Tom Brees 10 longest runs and none of them were like
impressive at all. Well, as long as touchline run is like six yards and it was on a like one of those
Ones we lined up on his center and there's nobody in front of them so he just like
follows the center up there up the gut yeah the best run ever was the Brian
Erlacher Juke oh yeah for sure we haven't got there right we're still we're
still waiting for that play to come that's a good question. It's been so long. Maybe we've already done it. Who knows?
I took a picture of those stats that they had in the first quarter. He did either first or
tied for first. Quarterback rating, completion percentage, passing yard. Yeah, he was basically this offense at this point because they don't have a running game
And you could tell the Chiefs knew that from the start like they weren't even trying to stop the run
They were just pin there is back coming around the end
Was it uh, it was an offensive end there. He true. Holler fame with Jared Allen. Yeah. Yeah, he has two sacks
Did you hear about him? He has one? Yeah, I had one
Yeah, he's 11 on the season. Yeah. Yeah, I was 136
He was disruptive and that lineback Derek something other dark Thomas. Yeah
Everyone's not in the Hall of Fame should be he's been on the ballot, but has not been
Everyone is not in the Hall of Fame. He's been on the ballot, but has not been
Selected so for all pros Greg two defensive player of the years
one season with 22 sacks
22 damn yeah in 2011 that's impressive
I mean 136 on his career. It's insane. I mean, I, I feel like when I saw him with the highlight on, uh, prime time, I was like, Oh yeah, Jared Allen, he was awesome.
Yeah.
This is year two for him.
So wasn't he the guy that was known for his trash talk too?
Was that him?
Yeah.
Like when he's on the Vikings with the, I mean, he had nine sacks as a rookie.
Yeah.
Have you ever heard of the restaurant?
He is the rookie of the year.
He had a restaurant.
Yeah.
And the restaurant's motto was
wine and dine and 69. When did it close? Where was it? Florida. Yeah. No shit. When did it close?
I think it opened in 2008. It says it has a, the bar serves up Jared juice, fruit punch and Everclear
The bar serves up Jared juice fruit punch and everclear and sports motto wine I'm dying them and 69 and really just likes his number is Jersey number.
Oh yeah.
All right.
This stretch from 2007 to 2013 15 and a half 14 and a half 14 and a half 11 22 12 11 and
a half.
God damn.
Yeah.
He had some really good numbers.
I mean, I feel like he was one of those past rush hour specialist guys, you know, but 12, 11 and a half. God damn. Yeah, he had some really good numbers. Those are amazing.
I mean, I feel like he was one of those
pass rush or specialist guys, you know?
Oh yeah.
He's not stopping the run, but.
That's a super idol.
In this game he didn't need to.
Yeah, because the Pages ran for,
I think at one point, at the half,
they said that Larry Johnson had outgained
the Patriots offense by himself.
And he had like 117 yards or something combined.
Yeah, I had Brady not even getting over 100 yards passing until the 7 minute mark of the
third quarter.
Yeah, yeah, it wasn't good. And also, they showed a stat where in his previous six games,
he had thrown three interceptions. And at that point, when they showed the stat, he
had scored two. He had thrown two.
When did it close? Apparently, a couple months after it opened? Yeah
It's not an article just months after it opened former chiefs player Jared Jared Allen's restaurant is closed
When Alan was traded to the Vikings last month
He told KMBC that he thought the business would stay open and the ownership would just hook up with another chiefs player
Apparently that didn't happen.
What an idiot.
Yeah.
All right.
So I don't know if it's gonna work, but like this.
He's hilarious.
So when they were doing the,
they were talking about like when they were doing
the player intros for like the stadium
and they have to record their little like video clip.
This is what he did.
He kind of, obviously this is a still picture.
This is a, for the people listening, they've all seen Key and Peele's East West Shrine
Bowl, whatever it is.
Yeah, exactly.
Javarius, Javarius, Javarius, Javarius.
Jared Allen, defensive end, Kansas City.
Sort of thing.
But it was like, this was like, like his head rose up.
Can he take only one eye and look into his, yeah, like, so he's crossing his eye,
but only with one eye. One eye. That's really impressive.
Good eating grid on his face. Yeah. I didn't take a photo of this. Hold on.
Don't put this yet. So, all right, all right, you can play it now.
All right. So Jared Allen, just, Allen, just a class act all around.
But you didn't play the, let me hear his clip.
I feel like you can't have that face and then not have a hilarious.
Oh no, it didn't play the clip.
It just showed the face.
Look at that.
So yeah, so that's what Breyer's up against.
No run game.
Unless you count Patrick Pass as a run game, unless you count Patrick Pass
as a run game, which in this game, it wasn't.
Well, Patrick Pass is a fullback, so he gets a pass.
Yeah. Hey. But it was, you know, back in this time, like you'd think the pages are out of
it and every once in a while, Breyer would be like, no, fuck this. And he would just
have that fuck this drive where he just, like the first drive he went converted to third and like 10 plus drives things to get a touchdown one with his legs and
then on the next drive he goes six for six hitting the likes of Tim Dwight and
Daniel Graham for completions they score two touchdowns and kind of like make it
a bit of a game at the end.
Um, when the defense actually starts doing their thing too.
Um, but then it ends with a back to back interceptions for his
fourth or interception game.
So, uh, I just kind of felt like one of the games that I wouldn't watch again,
but I'm happy to have watched it.
Tim, what do you think since you're also apparently watched this game?
So I think that it was like the game was like frustrating
Just seemed like the play calling on offense obviously got limited because they couldn't run the ball. Yeah
Well, I know they because they were doing
They had a reverse with Tim Dwight where yeah, I got like 12 yards. Hmm
I just love every time he touches law. I just get fired They have a reverse with Tim Dwight where he got like 12 yards. Hmm. He's a lack trip dude
I just love every time he touches law and just get fired
Yeah
So it just seemed like because at this point
McDaniels is our OC, but he's just not
Heidel right? He's just an assistant coach. I think so. Yeah
You made me on the dog. Yeah so what what I kind of noticed was like you see a lot of times where like
In the later Brady years and stuff like that when they they were limited on offense like the things that you just frustrated by
Hmm can't do this or you know, they're just having trouble
I mean it was it was frustrating but that was it was a game that I thought even on defense like
Watching obviously now that we have for evil as a coach. I started to watch like keying in on him and dude
He's a fucking pest. Yeah, like he's a fucking pest dude, Andy. Did you see the um, what happened?
There was a play where I don't know. I think there was a stack where they stopped someone and then he just blew up the tackle
He just dropped him on the ground
Well, I like the one where
He came around the end and almost got to Trent Green and then kind of fell down behind him and Trent Green had thrown the
Ball and was like backpedaling and variable wasn't sure if he had thrown the ball nuts
He was like stuck his arm out and grabbed Trent Green by the back of the leg and made him fall over just in case.
Yeah. And then Trent Green's like, dude, what the fuck? And he's like, I don't know. And I was on the ground. I didn't know if you threw the ball.
But also he was on punt coverage too, and set the edge on a Dante Hall punt return managed to get him to go out of bounds. So ran down
Mr. Dante Hall. Yeah, as the punt coverage guy. So just doing it all, you know, that
kind of guy loves playing football. Greg, Greg does it for the love of the game. You
should try that one time in the dirt kind of guy. You should try that one time, Greg.
Just do it for the love of the game. Josh McDaniels was the quarterbacks coach for this game.
All right. Well, there you go.
It sounds like Tim was right though. There was no official host, but he was calling the plays.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
And then who's the big Eugene Wilk? Greg, right?
Me. Greg.
Did you see the Andy, the hit that he laid on Larry Johnson?
Oh my God.
Dude, that was it.
Oh, crap.
His leg underneath it looked ugly.
Yeah, I did.
I look like it hurt.
Yeah, I don't think it's where I saw that and I rewound it
and I saw where he hit him like right in the spleen or whatever it was.
I'm like, if that was me, you like, I may have died again.
If that was me, I may have died or at least been in a wheelchair
for like an extended period.
Your ACL was gone on my head.
My spleen would have exploded.
Fuck the ACL.
Like under him too.
Like no fucking.
Yeah, that's so awkward.
Like how he hit him, like stopped his knee, like made his knee dig into the ground.
Yeah.
Oh, man.
For all of those listening that is on the prime time highlights.
That's why I mean, Greg, I've seen that.
Wait, Greg, you didn't watch the game.
I did not watch the game. I'm sure.
Okay. I spent more time watching Dante hall highlights. I knew it.
Talking about how sick prime time highlights are versus what we currently get
as consumers.
It's like here's fucking 40 seconds at this entire two and a half game.
Primetime's like here's three and a half minutes.
And that didn't even account the like, OK, now me and Tom Jackson
are going to talk about what just happened in the game and how that impacts the NFL.
Like, what the fuck?
May you get highlights like NFL YouTube does like.
Yeah, just like the 15 minute packages.
But all it is is just I think it's algorithmic.
And they just say any run play of more than five yards
and any pass play of more than it's actually quite frustrating to watch.
It's really now never do replays.
So like there'll be like a game winning, like walk on touchdown.
And then it just ends. Yeah. Can you show me that
one?
But every once in a while, they'll do a replay like, but
just a second, a second replay. Show me the replay of this.
Yeah. And every single person we ever fucking talked to is like,
I wish they could go back to the old Sports Center when they
fucking showed us. It sounds like I don't get it. We're
showing highlights. AI is just fucking delivering these guys highlights all they fucking want. It's like no no no no
We want fucking Tom Jackson and Chris Burry fuckers say
Here's how it unfolded and then like okay
How does this fit in the bigger picture of the NFL and these two with the great songs in the background?
Yeah, right
It's like it's like wrestling like you're telling a story of the NFL and these two teams. With the great songs in the background. Yeah. Right.
It's like wrestling.
Like you're telling a story.
Yeah.
They tell a story in a way that they say and how animated Berman is.
The vibe is just different.
Yeah.
That's a great analogy, Tim.
They're crafting a story, a short story, and AI is just ripping you bullet points.
Right.
Even if like at the halftime show, it's with like, you know, a crew of seven of them,
and they're just like laughing over each other,
trying to like-
They literally just get bullet points off the teleprompter.
Yeah, badly, yeah.
Tim is currently doing the double jerk off hand
in his own face.
Ha ha ha ha.
No, he didn't bring back Dan Deardorff.
I bet Dan Deardorff would be a fucking incredible commentator.
You know, just like, you know, a Dan Dierdorf show.
Followed the Fox Sports scandal.
We could do.
Yeah.
Skip the joy read.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Allegedly offered $1.5 million to a stylist to have sex with him.
Oops. And she said they skipped it.
Yeah. Well, that's what she's claiming. Yeah. And Joy Reid was sleeping with like
the executive producer and that's how she got the job.
What is this WWE?
Yeah. The only person that didn't get called out, my boy, Colin said he was
professional and respectful.
All the coward.
But only one off camera.
Yes, that wheel spins in a fucking Felger and master.
Next,
I probably got some skeletons in his closet.
I think.
Have you heard?
No, no. Yeah. Have you heard? No, no.
Apparently.
So I, I follow a couple of guys on Twitter that are like, they basically
take Boston sports media and they follow it like it's wrestling all into the
storylines and how they shit on each other.
So, um, apparently because it's, and it all started kind of with this May thing.
Um, apparently he, when he is remote, he has his own apartment in the Apparently, because it all started kind of with this May thing,
apparently he, when he is remote, he has his own apartment in the seaport.
He has a one bedroom apartment in the seaport and there's speculation that, uh,
him and, uh, his wife, uh, are underwaters. I don't underwood something.
Yeah. Yeah. That they've, that they've, uh, put up.
Oh, no. Carrier that they've that they've put up. Oh
Who wouldn't want to be married to the guy who's like maybe that's why he doesn't want to be there
If I could pop the baby out I said see a little bitch
Jesus hi, so sure you're best and worst on that? Yeah.
Tim's best is that
Felger is getting divorced.
What's your worst?
Well, no, I think my best would
probably be surprised.
I think Steve wanted to mention it.
Corey Brown getting 500.
Yeah.
Nice.
I didn't know that because they didn't bring that up on the.
All right.
So here you go.
Pop quiz.
Um, where is, where does Troy Brown stand currently?
On the list of catches in Patriots history.
Just for the Patriots.
Uh, for third.
Yeah, I'm going to say third. Well done, boys. Who's ahead of them? Just for the Patriots? Mm-hmm. Four. Eight?
Third.
Yeah, I'm gonna say third.
Well done, boys.
Who's ahead of them?
Irving Fryer?
No.
I think Ronk and Welker.
Do you know Capuletti?
Welker, Welker is one.
Edelman?
Edelman is two.
6.72 for Welker, 6.20 for Edelman, 5.57 for Troy Brown.
Who's the current active leader?
That's a great question.
Jacoby Myers?
No, no, on the Patriots.
On the roster?
Acting for the Patriots.
Hunter Henry?
It's probably Hunter.
Hunter born maybe?
199. Hunter Henry's probably a hunter. Maybe one ninety nine one ninety nine on the path.
Hunter Henry's got 200 catches.
I don't think he has it.
The paths.
Well, he's got four seasons, right?
He was there with Max.
Yeah, he was there with Cam.
Catches a year.
You there with Cam?
I feel like it was. Wow.
You know, it'll never go out of style.
Yeah, he's played six for the The socks that Greg got me of Mike
Gasecki doing the gritty. Yeah. That's how I got them. Did I see those? Did you see some
of them on chat? I don't know. I will though, but those things. Kendrick Bourne is 35th
on this list with 155. One ahead of Ramon de Stevenson is 154. Oh, yeah. Where's Jalen Polk on that list?
He isn't.
Where's Kendrick?
It makes me sick watching all these receivers having unbelievable seasons that were like
all drafted in the same.
It's not Jalen Polk's fault they got drafted the Patriots.
Well, I got to find the person that stood up.
I mean, we're still waiting for someone to be Dion branch
You know, yeah, dude eat
Andy do you remember that?
It was a fourth down play
That they Brady completed the branch. Mm-hmm. That was such a sick fucking route that he ran. Oh, yeah
It was like a crucial like fourth and fourth and short into yeah. Yeah, and he just had it a stick
Well, I don't even know what you would call that route. Yeah, I like a comeback or hitch something like that
You'd all you choose the guy. I was sure that yeah, I was horny. So that's Tim's best. So what's your worst Tim?
Who worse? Um, I guess Larry Johnson. It's not that over
worse. Um, I guess Larry Johnson, not that old.
He really didn't though. He was good, but he wasn't like, I don't know.
Domino wasn't blowing your dick off. Andy. Right. All right, Steve.
Best and worst.
Ooh, I don't know about the best,
but an interesting Jared Allen, 2015 Carolina Panthers.
Who remembers this?
Who sacks two passes defensed?
What for the whole season?
Literally 10 years from this game.
Homeboys still play in batting down balls starting 12 games.
And that's when they went to the Super Bowl, right?
Twenty fifteen. Wasn't that the Broncos? 12 games and that's when they went to the Super Bowl, right? Only 15.
Wasn't that the Bronco?
The good question.
I think it is.
Oh, yeah.
Wow. The campaign one.
Yeah, she is.
That's so jared Allen dragging the house on that team.
Fozzie Whitaker.
Lucky.
Yeah. And the worst is just the defensive roster of this game fucking Mike Wright
Michael Stone
Yeah, they are trial Hawkins Monte Beisel Don Davis. Like these are all guys
You take money, but there's Taiwan. That's what part Richard Seymour Roosevelt called him
But also there's Taiwan, Britswood Park, Richard Seymour, Roosevelt,
called him Willie McGinnis, Mike
Frable, Teddy Bruce, his son, a Samuels.
Sure, sure.
I need to play.
So yeah, you throw any special teams group.
OK, Greg, you remember Mike Stone?
No, but I don't remember.
I probably couldn't name the
special team coverage guys in the path right now.
Yeah, so these guys are who have tackles on defense.
Also, Mike is a long time.
And I know he's got a sense. I look at this and I see a lot of talent yeah and did you think it was weird that
Mike cloud doesn't get a uh carry until the second half it was a little strange yeah um like I don't
know if he was injured too I because he's been on the uh he was on there last year I think for a
short time and then yeah they signed him in the middle of the season this season
yeah, because the season before he had the Mike cloud game where he went off for like 100 yards and two or three touchdowns and
Everybody in New England's like the BC kid. He's gonna be the next thing
Nothing else that that week that they signed him
I made sure that I went right to Madden went on on my franchise, they traded, I signed my cloud off a free agency.
I fucking went off of them.
He's a second round graphic. Really? Yeah.
For the pets? No, no cheese. Oh, that's right. It was a juice.
Maybe that's why I didn't play. Been trusting them. Judas.
Well think of who, who was on that that who was in front of them right Keith Evans. No, no
Why you why you drafting a running back in the second if you have a whatever quick and they got Larry Johnson with that
Same strategy so yeah, that's true Greg Besson worst. My
Best is Greg Wesley Yeah, that's true. Greg best and worst. My best is
Greg Wesley Reinterceptions in this game on top Tom Brady
The only player I ever have three interceptions in a game off Tom Brady. Yeah, and my worst is the Patriots running game
I thought your best would be cranking it to human joystick
YouTube videos. I mean it's pretty enjoyable. he's a he's a top 10 youtube guy oh yeah like
old school youtube guy it's like reggie bush usc highlights is probably gone one uh yeah
vince young's probably up there too yeah oh yeah that's where i was gonna go next i love
young at that vince young quarterbacks aren't as good because it's like yeah he's a running
quarterback so the running quarterback thing yeah michael bar Sanders, Barry Sanders, Michael Ron James.
You have to consider like Barry Sanders was pre YouTube though.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
We're like once YouTube hit and started getting these people making these like cool videos.
Like, yeah, like I like compilation videos.
That's true.
Where does a LeBron Jackson is really good. these people making these like cool videos. Oh, OK. I like, yeah, the like I like compilation videos.
I guess.
Where does LeBron James?
High school.
Really good.
To Sean Jackson.
Michael Vick.
Michael Vick.
Lamar Jackson College, Louisville.
Oh, my gosh.
Or high school.
I think I think Lamar Jackson High School goes over LeBron James.
Travis, Travis Henry High School.
Have you seen Travis Henry? Or the most insane ones? Travis, Jackson High School goes over LeBron James. Travis Henry High School. Have you seen Travis Henry?
I feel like LeBron James High School are the most insane ones.
Travis Henry High School.
The Lamar Jackson where he just stopped at the goal line.
Like the guy that's right by him.
Like that's one of the most viral touchdowns ever.
Wait, who do we draft instead of Lamar when we had the chance to draft him?
Mack Jones.
No, Sonya Michelle.
Sonya Michelle, that's right.
Super Bowl winner.
Yeah, let us do Super Bowl. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Zero for Lamar. Mac Jones no Sony Michelle Right who the purple winner?
Zero for Lamar
Travis Henry's
Was he on the ramp when they won I don't think he was
He might have been I think they might I gotta check that out. I'll check that off
Hey, if that was your best Greg, yeah, but you have your worst there. My was the running game of the Patriots
All right, or lack thereof. Yeah
Sean Taylor YouTube I like yeah. Yeah. Yeah
You destroyed that punter in the pro balls
All right best and worst. Let's see. The worst is the Patriots defense against
tight ends. They just love giving up a hundred yards to tight ends. So far this season, Antonio
Gates is six for one oh eight algae crumpler of all people. Six for 99. Rainey McMichael
on the Dolphins seven for 81 and whatever the fuck
Gonzalez went for in this game. What'd he do? He's honest 14 protocols. Yeah, Andy's just listen off great Is it ends? Yeah, I do crumpler peace folks like what?
former Patriots
Yeah
But some of the algae crumpler 2005. Oh, yeah
And he was thrown into a man who was thrown into a
Was it Vic? No, this was a game Vic was hurt and it was uh, what was the fucking back?
I was oh, yeah, Matt. Yeah was Matt chop, right? Yeah. Yeah
But the only only tight end who didn't have success Dallas Clark one catch four yards against the page
So that's redemption. My best, the kind of the, you
know, behind the scenes about the players that they were thrown out, NBC was thrown
out. Larry Johnson apparently has upholstered the seats in his fancy car. They didn't say
what kind of car it was. They said that it was fancy with throwback jerseys of different
players seats of his car probably around pimp my ride
I would guess yeah
And Roosevelt Colvin was a former cotton candy salesman apparently before turning to football
As you do so like he worked that when he was like fucking 14 years old at a fair probably. Yeah, okay
First episode day pin my ride 2004
Yeah. Okay.
Arnie.
First episode day, pin my ride, 2004.
Perfect.
There it is.
We were right in the thick of it, fellas.
And then, I didn't get to this earlier, but one of the assistants on this team, the assistant
special teams coach was one Chad O'Shea, who was the Pages wide receivers coach for fucking
ever, from 09 to 2018, and then went to Miami as the offensive coordinator under Brian
Flores. Yeah. Remember that. So the staff too, right?
Wasn't Flores on this Pages staff?
I don't know when he joined the Pages staff actually.
Pretty sure he was Andy, according to your notes.
Look it up. I'll look it up.
Also we had some Greg for you. We had some all-name team candidates
Crefonzo Thorpe. Mmm, and Boomer Grigsby were both drafted by the
Is a good one Kansas City Chiefs in this
but
Crefonzo CRA pH O and
Scouting assistant.
Alright. Is this his first year?
Probably.
Crafonzo Jawanforp.
Pretty dope.
So, those are my best, I guess.
Pretty good best this week, Andy.
Not bad, right?
You've outdone yourself again.
Good to be back at it. That's all I'm gonna say.
This is Flo's second year.
Oh yeah. Yeah, 2004. Scouting assistant with the Pats. Let's be back at it. That's all I'm gonna say. This is flow second year. Oh, yeah Yeah, 2004 scouting assistant with the pants. Let's bring back the crew flow
McDaniels variable I'm saying that would be sick
DC McDaniels OC McDaniels. Yes or no the gates of hell
2004 through 2018 last fucking time. Yeah pretty good
Wait, did you have Tim's a no on McDaniel's? That's still an intern Andy. Yeah, I guess
Tim is Tim a yes on flow as the defensive coordinator
I think he's gonna get a head coaching job, but I would be in on him. Okay, I would have been on him as a coach
I mean he'll be into I just I think that he that would have been on him as a head coach. I mean, he would be into.
I just, I think that he, that's, I think he might get a head coach.
That's what I know.
He is that lawsuit thing.
I feel like that's the thing.
I think the only place he probably could have got a head
coaching job was New England.
Yeah.
The craft could have gone over cheap.
Not happy with his lawsuit.
Oh, I can't wait for Dion in Dallas.
Oh yeah.
That's going to be a trade up the draft.
Should already sucks. Yeah. Or in front of us on the down. Oh, yeah. They trade up the draft. She'd already sucks.
Yeah.
Oh, amazing.
Fucking electric.
That would be so good.
The Bellatrix one, right?
Bellatrix one in Pittsburgh.
It's going to take over for once.
I mean, I'm one.
You think I'm about?
Yeah.
Do the fans hate Tomler right now?
Is the it was the flicking Bengals head coach.
You always went flicking nine and seven. Yeah. He's the he's a who was the fucking Bengals head coach? You always went like in nine and seven.
Yeah.
He's the, he's a new age Marvin Lewis, basically.
He's way cooler than Marv though.
He way cooler.
You're correct.
Steve is way cooler than Marv.
I mean, come on.
There are a lot of similarities between Steve Brown and Marvin Lewis.
What the fuck is that supposed to mean?
Yeah, please explain.
Take it however you will, Steve.
All right, what's next? You're my Carson Palmer. What the fuck is that supposed to mean? Yeah, please explain. Take it however you will, Steve.
All right, what's next week? Well, Greg, you're my Carson Palmer, so.
And Andy, you can be my John Kitna.
I'll take it.
All right, so we're back on it.
We're back on the grind, boys.
So next week, Patriots.
Next week, we're doing this again next week?
Patriots head on.
Oh, sorry, I'm traveling for work next week.
New Year's resolution.
Yeah, every week. Next next week Patriots traveling back home
Oh, it's it's the jet Steve. Come on. They call it. Sorry me and your wife will be in or the two and nine

The Brooks Bollinger.
Yeah, it's going to be great.
Brooks Bollinger. I might actually watch that game if you guys. Oh, this is gonna be great. Brooks Ballinger.
I might actually watch that game if you guys all like give me his middle name.
Oh, I don't even give you a name.
You can get a mic.
I want a definitive.
You will watch the game with notes on each for. Yeah.
Yeah. With the if it's a Brooks Ballinger Jets game.
Fucking I mean, bro.
It was my name's Michael. That's rough.
That is rough.
So I was really a Michael. That's rough. That is rough
Really of Michael. Hey Steve. I'm not gonna look it up. I don't even want to spoil it
