Starting point is 00:00:36 To the PHAI Eagle show, the first of two shows today on a Tuesday, live from the Xfinity Mobile Studio, and presented by Ashley Bowulf and E.J. Smith. We got the practice at the link tonight, E.J. You and Fran are going to have that bad boy covered. We've got the Ospreys tomorrow night. Tickets are closed. You can't get in the door anymore.
Starting point is 00:00:58 We're sold out to seeing everybody who will be there tomorrow night. It's going to be a great time. That will be on your feeds Thursday afternoon. at 2 o'clock, but let's get to today's action, EJ. What we want to do, this is an important thing that we do every summer is try to pull ourselves out of the training camp bubble and think about if there's anything that we have sort of come to accept as whether it's group think or just a narrative that we have followed
Starting point is 00:01:25 over the course of the summer that maybe we're getting something wrong. Is there something we're missing here? So we're going to do that. How are you? I'm doing well. I feel like I need to grind this show to a screeching halt. you got the ospreys cut you're looking good i mean i can't show up the ospreys with with my hair all over the place i got it got to get the ospreys cut you're glowing you were in that pre ospreys you got that pre ospreys glow going i now you look good i said lindsay some deranged audio files last
Starting point is 00:01:53 night at about one a m we are cooking with gas baby i cannot wait it's going to be really really fun but yeah i'm doing well i'm excited to talk through some of these things excited for the public practice i uh my maybe this is a hot take I feel like the fact that like you're going to hear a lot like, oh, there's only one city in the world where you could sell out a public practice like this. And I agree. It is special. It shows you how great the fan base is. It's a sign that they should do this more often. It's a sign that they should be, there should be a few public practices. I feel like the scarcity drives a lot of people to the stadium tonight. I'm excited for it, but I wish we had a few more of them. I like that. That's a fair take. We will also at the second half of this show revisit our Turkey's
Starting point is 00:02:35 to training camp and update where we stand on some of these position battles. There are a couple positions where looking back at where we had our turkeys, things have moved quite a bit so that it will be a worthwhile exercise. But let's start with this big picture conversation, EJ, I will let you go first. When you think about trying to, you know, go Aaron Rogers mode, you know, maybe take some medicinal help to rewire your brain. How are we thinking about these things? How do you come and you come out of that?
Starting point is 00:03:06 What is it about the way that we're talking about the Eagles right now that you think that we might, there's a chance at least that we could be having this wrong? Yeah, so I've got five reasons that we, I think they could be better than we expect. And I've also got five reasons why I think they could be worse. And just for the sake of, you know, good storytelling here, you know, aligning with the thumbnail. I'm going to go with one reason why I think they might be worse than we expect first, which is what if the Eagles tight bedroom top down is not as good as we may be expected going into this season and is the reason that the run game might struggle this season. You know, you could talk about the past game, but a lot, we've talked about it before how a lot rides on Dallas Goddard being the guy that you
Starting point is 00:03:50 expect him to be. You know, I think front of mind for me right now is watching Dallas Goddard get driven into the backfield by Jalick's Hunt yesterday during practice. Now listen, you might say, well, why is he blocking Jalick's Hunt? You know, that's an unfair matchup. That's the type of thing that You don't want to see in these offenses, that happens sometimes. You know, everybody will remember the 49ers Eagles NFC championship game where, you know, Hassan Redick was not going to get blocked by a tight end, that entire game. You see that in the system sometimes. Oh, is something up?
Starting point is 00:04:19 I see it in the chat. Yeah, it's just sad. I don't want to grind the show to a halt. Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton passes away. Oh, really? That's a sad one. That is sad.
Starting point is 00:04:30 What an absolute queen. What a great one. What a great one. That's tough. 80 years old, man. RIP. Tough one. Jolene is great, huh? One of the all times. She was incredibly generous as well.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Fighting for the right things. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Great job by Dolly Park. That is tough. Man, we should just like have like that's a good job out of her, dog. We should have a remembering Dolly part, part dolly part in segment we should do that yeah i might not have to work that into the ospreys tomorrow
Starting point is 00:05:07 night i get in a respectful way i got some bad news oh ej we can make that our opening number tomorrow night we can figure out we could we could figure out a dolly parton song yeah i think i can play jolline on the guitar i mean i have to dust it off but um in a respectful way i hope though we'll do it to honor her so i won't i won't wear a padded bra as part of it no that's what i'm getting that. I don't think you should do that. All right. You want to reset or do you want to do you have anything else on Dolly Parton? All right. Pete, an actual goat. That's not Brendan Ekstrom says. All right, let's reset. Yeah. We'll talk. We'll talk. We'll talk, dolly tomorrow night. Yeah, now it feels so trivial talking football. Dollar part. Yeah, that's okay. So yeah, I think the tight ends in a run game.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Dallas Goddard, we view him as a combo tight end. I'm not sure he has really been as much of a force in the run game in the last couple of seasons. You know, I think, especially last year, I don't think that he was, you know, a difference maker in the run game, the way that we, you know, came the way he was early in his career. So if he is someone who you can't rely on in the run game, you know, at the point of attack against bigger players, like you've got Johnny Munt who can fill that role, but the rest of the room you don't feel good about in that type of role. So as good as I feel about the Eagles run game, the tight end group worries me a little bit
Starting point is 00:06:26 going into the season. I also have this. And I think the tight end room in a whole is a really big problem. And part of it is Dallas. You know, whatever you get from him as a blocker is good. Whatever you get from him as a receiver is good. But you might need him to, you might need him to be the number two. Now, we talked about those stats over the summer that, you know, when AJ Brown was not on the field,
Starting point is 00:06:56 Dallas got it's one of the most efficient receivers in the NFL over the past. few years, including the playoffs. But he's 31, and he misses a lot of time. Last four seasons, he missed two games last year, seven games the year before that, three the year before that, five the year before that. There's a reason that he has this injury-prone label on him. And if he misses time, Eli Stowers is not ready to be on the field. And Johnny Munt, I mean, I got to walk us back on Johnny Munt again here.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Because, yeah, he is bringing something different to the table than they have in that room. But this is a guy who was the number three or four tight end in Jacksonville last year. You can't expect him. You can't expect the offense to be at its full force where Johnny Munt is your starting tight end. That's crazy. And he's also an older player. So the more that I thought about this, the more convinced I am that Howie's going to make a trade before week one. and I think it's desperately needed.
Starting point is 00:08:01 And if not, we talked about it last year and how he put pointing the finger to himself that he did not do a good enough job with that room last year, he has not done a good enough job with this room right now. And part of that is because you use a second round pick on Eli Stowers and think that's going to help add to that room,
Starting point is 00:08:21 but he's not ready. And you shouldn't have thought about that pick as bringing you 2026. enforcement, you know, Calcutera and EJ Jenkins and LATU, they bring different things to the table, but none of those guys are starting caliber tight ends. And if they really want to be playing in 12 personnel a lot, like, they would be a lot better served if Johnny Munn could be your number three and is coming in, you know, in heavy packages, but not expected to really be a factor in the passing game.
Starting point is 00:08:49 So I went, I went through the rosters in the NFL to try to look for some guys, you know, it's it's tough because they are swimming into the waves of everybody's trying to build up their tight end rooms and like every team is trying to have two or three tight ends and so there's less available than you might think i can give you some names if you'd like yeah i floated one one name with with cuss this morning i'm curious if we have the same one okay um i'll go i'll go through them quickly uh with the jets you know you could you could you could you could bottom feed and try to at Jeremy Ruckert, who was a mid-round pick from a couple of seasons ago. They've got Mason Taylor and they've got Kenyon Sadiq.
Starting point is 00:09:28 We know they liked Mason Taylor to some degree in the draft. Could you pry him away from the Jets? Would that make sense? And what would be the cost there? Everybody, we have talked for a long time about Michael Mayer with the Raiders. That's a connection that has already been made. Obviously, they've got Brock Bowers. Lower level guys, Hunter Long with the Jaguars.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Ben Sinit with the commanders who they use a second round pick on and has been completely buried and I don't know that he would be ready to play but he would at least have some upside there. Tommy Trembal is the Panthers starting tight end but they've got some draft picks that they could potentially part with him for.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Cole Comette. Now they signed him to a deal even though they have Colson Loveland but he could bring something different. David and Joku signed with the Chargers and they've got Gadsden and your boy Charlie Colar. So if they don't see
Starting point is 00:10:22 an immediate role for them, is that an easy flip? Part week one with Joanne Johnson, is that it's going to be a big part of their passing game, but are they going to give up on the season that early? And then the crazy one, if you really want to get nasty,
Starting point is 00:10:43 is there's a team that's probably truly tanking. Would you consider giving up like a second round pick for Trey McBride? And then completely, like you're completely kind of casting Stowers to the side already. I think that's just a crazy Howweed Roseman idea, but it's one that he could potentially make a call on.
Starting point is 00:11:04 That'd be like such a toxic move from Halley Roseman because it is such a departure from like, yeah, you know, I think I really do need to like, you know, reevaluate the position and value blocking as part of the equation. Like, you know, that to me would be just adding like the best version of Eli Stowers, really and not really addressing the other side of it, which is can you trust this guy as an inline blocker? I was just trying to look through teams that had drafted tight ends in the first couple rounds of the draft. And do they have somebody that they would move on from?
Starting point is 00:11:36 Do you think Davis Allen with the Rams is somebody like a big body tight end? Yeah. I can't say I've watched the Rams supposedly have like six guys. Right. Who they really like. So I'm really going to keep six guys. Probably not. But then are they trading a guy into a conference contender?
Starting point is 00:11:50 Yeah, and with Davis Allen, with Michael Mayer, that point you made is excellent that like, this is the trend in the NFL is to have a lot of these guys to have, you know, optionality to be able to use heavy personnel packages. And for that reason, like, I don't know if the Raiders or the Rams are just going to be like, yeah, like let's get rid of one of these guys that gives us that schematic versatility. So yeah, it's going to be hard, but I agree. I think that they have to make a move there at this point. If Dowell Scouter gets hurt, like Johnny Munt is not a number one type. end in this type of system, you know, the Kevin O'Connell quote. Any type of system. Well, yeah, the Kevin O'Connell quote.
Starting point is 00:12:26 What? It's he's the best tight end three in the NFL. He's the perfect number three tight end in the league. So who is your number one then? It's like Eli Stowers currently sidelined has not really shown a readiness to be that guy for them. Is it, is it, is it, I don't think it's stone smart. I, as much as I love Camlott too as a player, he's not that type of profile either.
Starting point is 00:12:49 It drops off of a cliff very quickly. And that's even ignoring the part that I brought up about, well, what if Dallas Goddard's just not that reliable in the run game? So they have a lot of questions at that position. Yeah, I think, I think, if they don't do something here, I think this is something that we're probably going to end up talking about a lot in like week three, four, five. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:13:11 Good call out. All right. I will give you a, I have a longer one, but I will save that for after the break. So I'll give you a different one to start with. that is just the degree to which the Jonathan Grenard situation really affects the variability of this defense. If you added Jonathan Grenard at who they think they're getting to training camp over the
Starting point is 00:13:38 summer, like this defensive line would look truly ferocious. And there's a chance that this is like a washout season for Jonathan Grenard. He doesn't come back until week three. and when he comes back, he's clearly not the same. It's a little bit like J. Von Hargrave's first season, where it's like, you know, you see what the team likes in him, but it's clear that he just doesn't have it.
Starting point is 00:14:01 And then maybe he has a, you know, a very good year next year, whatever it is. And then there's a chance that if he comes back ready to go, week one, house of fire, then this defense all of a sudden looks really, really ferocious. But it's kind of the difference between this being, you know, the best defense in football. and just a good defense potentially if you've got Jailix and Nolan and Jalix is not quite as dynamic
Starting point is 00:14:26 as he looked this summer and Nolan's still battling injuries and all of a sudden AJ A.J. Pinesas is playing 30% of the snaps and there's rumors that they're trying to get BG to come out of retirement again. Like it could go the other way there. Yeah, I think that Jalix is good enough
Starting point is 00:14:44 that I don't, I'm not worried about this outcome as much but I, you know, I'll see. your comparison and raise you a comparison. It's a difference between last year's defense before and after Jalen Phillips was added. And we saw how good that group looked when they had like a bona fide number one edge rusher at the top of the rotation. I think Jalix Hunt can be that for them this year.
Starting point is 00:15:05 I think that Jalix has been good enough this summer consistently at through the joint practices against elite tackles, obviously with the Eagles, where I'm not as worried about them looking like the first half of last year. But it's a good point. I mean, the thing that kind of like jumped out to me was. you're saying like if granard has a down year kind of like that jvon hargrave year like he had three sacks last year you know if he has a down year this year like they've already paid him the money but i don't know you're gonna it's gonna be a big question mark this time next year if he doesn't bounce back from the
Starting point is 00:15:33 injury uh super chat from sand soccer to generous 10 dollar donation we appreciate that sand soccer so there's long time listener first time super chatter welcome aboard a thought in my head after joint practices and now all of the three being paid. Which two contracts of Jalen, Jordan, or Milton would you all have kept? So Jalen Carter, now that's got his big deal, Jordan Davis is big deal, and Milton's big deal. If you could only have two of those contracts, let's say, you know, not necessarily given the Eagle situation, which are the best ones?
Starting point is 00:16:11 I feel like you got to go Jalen Carter and Milton Williams. I think that's probably right. As much as I think Jordan Davis has that in tamings. tangible value to the Eagles and still a really, really good player. It's not like he's just a mascot making that money. I feel like if you were building it from scratch, you would want Jalen Carter and Milton Williams to be your two expensive guys. And then you'd want like a low cost nose tackle, 2022 Linval Joseph, which is my like most overused analogy when talking about nose tackles. But you find a cheap veteran that can be that, you know, zero technique and let those two difference
Starting point is 00:16:45 makers really make a difference on all three down. So yeah, that's, That's what I would probably do, but again, I don't want to, you know, act like Jordan Davis isn't good value where he's at. I think that that contract is, it's fair to say, it's a projection for what he can still become, though. Yeah, I also think it's just the natural progression of the contracts getting bigger that Milton's probably looks the best because he got his money early and he wasn't being paid for what he had done. It was a little bit more about, you know, what he's going to do when he has followed through on that so far. Jalen Carter, like it's going to, he's going to have to play really well to make his contract worth it. Jordan Davis, it's just generally speaking, guys who don't affect the passer that much don't get paid that amount of money. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:25 Yeah, and Milton and Jordan Davis are about at the same number, too. So it's not like you're paying a premium on top of what you pay Jordan Davis for, Milton. All right. We'll take a quick break on the other side. Somebody is correctly saying these have been a little bit negative. Oh, yeah. We got a couple positive ones that we can spin on the other side. Stay with us on the PHAY Eagles show.

Starting point is 00:19:54 that we are not exactly correct about. What's on your list? Yeah, I've got a couple of different ways I could be positive here because I agree. We went with the negative stuff first. I'm going to focus on the receivers. They're front of mine.
Starting point is 00:20:10 They both came back yesterday from injury. And I'm going to do a two for one here. These are two of the ones I had, but I think they'll package nicely together. What if the Eagles bet on Devante Smith has been correct, that he is as good as the likes of Jackson Smith and Jigba and Pocca and Okua? You know, if his volume goes up, he can be that level of production. He can reach that level of production in this offense.
Starting point is 00:20:32 And we just haven't really seen it because he's been sidelined. And then I'm going to tack this one on top of it. What if Mackay Lemon is this year's Cooper to G. You know, we've heard that talking point come out from the Eagles, Howie Roseman has said it. What if it's not week one? it's not week two, where Mackay Lemon's light in the world on fire. But by week five, week six, he gets his feet under him.
Starting point is 00:20:51 You know, Sean Mannion's got a vision for him. He's, you know, using him all these different types of creative ways. And all of a sudden, the Eagles have a one, two punch at receiver that we didn't get to see this summer, but is really kind of brought life to this offense. I'm with you. Devante, I think, you know, there's every reason to expect that he's going to have a monster season as long as he stays healthy. I would, you know, it would be,
Starting point is 00:21:18 don't you think it would be very surprising if he plays a full season and doesn't have 1,200 yards, something like that? Yeah. I think he's going to be the, you know, the, one of the most heavily targeted players in terms of like target rate of any receiver in the league.
Starting point is 00:21:37 That's what I expect. But the McCoyle-Laman one is one that I think is real upside. And we talked about this, I think, at the start of camp, that it's rare that you have a first round receiver who doesn't have as much, like, juice of fascination from the fan base or necessarily the reporters, and part of it is obviously because of the AJ Brown departure.
Starting point is 00:22:05 And also I think part of it is because of the kind of player that he is. You know, he's not some superhuman. looking guy who, you know, rises up and catches these crazy balls. He's a technician and like a tough as nails player. But he was also the most, you know, prolific receiver in college football last year. There's a reason he won those awards.
Starting point is 00:22:26 There's a real chance that, like, when, as you say, he hits, whenever it is that he gets his feet underneath him, he completely changes what the offense looks like. And he is like somebody who's unlocking something for the passing game. Yeah, I think you can definitely add another dimension. And we, again, these guys have been out of sight, out of mind. We spent a lot of time talking about Darius Cooper and Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore. And every time Elijah Moore's had a really productive camp, and every time he catches a pass in the back of my head, I'm just like, that is Mackay Lemon's role in this offense.
Starting point is 00:22:57 And, you know, if he gets, if he gets a handful of targets every game on shallow crossers and spot routes and, you know, occasionally stretching the field downfield on like posts or corners. And if him and Jalen Hertz can develop a rapport, like, yeah. You're right in that, like, Philly fans will love this guy because he plays with that toughness. You know, it's a man's game yesterday blocking Jalick's Hunt. Like a clip of him, like, you know, trying to blow up an edge rusher or a linebacker on an opposing defense in the regular season. Like, people are going to love that stuff. So we haven't gotten to see it. And I think it's fair to say, like, you know, we need to be patient to see what it looks like for him as a rookie because he has missed significant time.
Starting point is 00:23:35 It's not ideal that he hasn't been out there. So it might take him some time. But if he is the player of the Eagles, things. think he is he adds another dimension to this offense i think that's a good one um i have a jalen one which is less about are we thinking about it differently and more just we haven't seen it yet and you know we've talked about his body looks a little bit different right looks a little bit lighter what if jalen is off to the races this year hmm what if jalen uh you know it's funny i was i was watching i was watching like the 20 minute highlight video of jalen from last year just to
Starting point is 00:24:11 remember some stuff for the Ospreys like little plays that I had forgotten. And I had forgotten that like the beginning of the season last year, he was scrambling like a maniac and was making these and like these, you remember that Cowboys game. It was all over the place. And he looked great. And then as the season went on, he stopped doing that quite as much.
Starting point is 00:24:29 And obviously we know that he wasn't as much of the design run game. And I care more about the scrambles, I think, than the design run game. I think, you know, you pick and choose the design run stuff. If you do it a couple times, game it's enough to keep the defense honest i just want the upside of the scrambles but what if what if
Starting point is 00:24:48 this is a bit of a throwback season for jalen and it's a bit of uh like you know you guys you guys forgot that i'm a special athlete kind of season for jalen and i think that that would be a huge boon to the offensive efficiency it's funny because i had a slightly different angle on this but a similar point in my five reasons that the eagles will be better than we expect which is what if this has been the perfect system for Jalen Hertz all along? You know, what if this solves some of the instructure, you know, some of the keep you on schedule stuff, you know, makes the run game more dynamic and easier.
Starting point is 00:25:22 So you kind of take some of the pre-snap responsibilities off of his plate. And your point about the scrambles is exactly what I'm getting at here, which is a lot of times what you hear about the Shanahan McVeigh systems and the quarterbacks in those systems is that you get them in third and long and the play action goes out the window. And that's where those guys are always. exposed. And that's an area where Jalen has been up and down in his career, but when we've seen the best version of Jalen, that out of structure that you got to have it type of those types of situations
Starting point is 00:25:52 are an area that he can excel. You know, the scramble EPA is something that I was harping on last week and a Q&A I did with the diehards where his best seasons, he's been able to create out of structure. I feel good about the structure of this offense based off what we've seen in camp, but we don't get to see him create like out of structure very often just the nature of practice um the best case the best times we do see it is probably some of those like you know times where they move the pocket some of the bootlegs where it is a little bit more in the flow of a play and you weren't there you might have seen it actually it might have been before you had to leave for the show he ripped the pass to dontavian wicks on a on a rollout yesterday and that was in wicks almost made a spectacular catch
Starting point is 00:26:32 yeah wicks didn't get his feet in but that was a great ball um and i think those are the the examples you like scramble drills, being able to extend past, you know, the structure of a play, if he adds that to an offense that is proven when it is in sync and when it works can be productive and keep you mostly on schedule. All of a sudden, like you have a lot of answers to the test. So, yeah, I feel like that is within the realm of possibilities, and it's not something we really have talked about because it's hard to gauge, like, you know, off, off schedule plays during training camp.
Starting point is 00:27:04 All right. Do you have one more for us? Yeah, I got one more. Okay. What if this run game is once again a sleeping giant and this system is going to accentuate it. You know, the description that Tyler Steen had for us yesterday, you know, we're going to run wide zone where you force defensive linemen to play horizontally and not get up the field. And then we're going to run duo where if they're playing horizontally, we're going to blow them off the ball. We're going to push them five, six yards back and, you know, just create all these running lanes and dominate.
Starting point is 00:27:33 We haven't seen this system very often, this tree associated. with like elite offensive line play. You know, it's been good offensive line play, but like to have the level of pro bowlers are all pros that the Eagles have had in the past, it's just rare to find that on any team. So I am curious, you know, I think the run game has looked really good this summer, especially in the joint practices. You saw, you know, that first day, what it can look like when Sequin Barclay gets rolling and this offensive line is having a good day.
Starting point is 00:28:00 And I think it's probably the biggest question I have about the, have about the team going in a training camp is, is the run game going to be, you know, back to the way it looked in in 2024 or even before that. And I think there's reason to be encouraged about that. So, you know, I'm cheating a little bit. This is something we've talked about. It's something that you can tell from training camp. But it's the biggest question for me.
Starting point is 00:28:19 And I think that there have been encouraging signs around it. My last one here is on the negative side, which is we've all, we're all excited about the offense, what we've seen from Sean Manion. We like what we hear from him. but what if this guy is just not ready for prime time? I think that's a possibility that we haven't really engaged in, but he doesn't even know where he's calling games from yet. Like, he's never called a game in the NFL. It's unrealistic to expect that he's going to have that flow down right away.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Even in the upside scenario, it's probably going to take some time. but the protection stuff is something that I am a little bit worried about outside of the bit of this exercise. And we saw it manifest in New England a little bit. You know, a bunch of free rushers come through. And Jalen had talked about how, you know, there were a lot of unideal looks that they got. But his answer yesterday, when Jeff McLean was asking him about it, it did strike me as odd. And I don't know if this was just obfuscation about not wanting. opposing teams to know how they handle protections.
Starting point is 00:29:37 But what he said was, Jeff asked him who, like, you know, in terms of the protection calls, does that fall on the quarterback or the offensive line? And Mannion said it's on both the offensive line unit initially, and then the quarterback has a hand in that as well. It's a little dependent on the play, on the protection scheme, in terms of how much is on the quarterback's plate, but both the quarterback and offensive bond have a hand on that. Then there was a follow-up, and it said, like, it depends on the play.
Starting point is 00:30:03 It really is not a consistent thing. It would be dependent on the protection scheme. We have multiple different protection schemes. Some of them, it would be the quarterback, would have the final say. Some of them, it's the communication with the offensive line unit. They've both done a nice job. There's so much communication on the offensive line, I think goes unseen. Yadda, yada centers do a great job.
Starting point is 00:30:20 But they have not had this buttoned up this summer. It's probably unrealistic to expect that they will early in the season. you know last year at this time i think we were feeling semi bullish on kevin petulow and now he's a punching bag and a punchline for egos fans it's not impossible that that same thing happens to sean manion he goes the way of rich scangarello yeah that's why the run game matters so much because you know like when they didn't have the run game in the preseason opener it's the preseason not only the first to say you know don't overweight this don't care too much about it but you know Sean manion comes out and says
Starting point is 00:30:58 as we weren't able to stay on schedule. The thing about the protection aspect of it, like the pre-snap calls and being able to iron out, like how are you going to pick the pickup potential blitzes? If they struggle with that this year, it's pretty obvious that it's not like a coaching thing because we would have seen different iterations of this offense and what's the constant?
Starting point is 00:31:17 It's been Jalen Hertz and really Cam Juergens, you know, the last three years. So I wonder if it would be less about, oh, well, Mannion can't get these guys to figure out how to pick up a blitz. it'd be like at some point like jalen and cam have to be able to figure that stuff out so i agree it has been a bit of an issue um you know one of my reasons i thought they might be worse than expected was you know what if the great summers from jalen carter and morrow jo-mo and jihad campbell as a
Starting point is 00:31:42 blitzer is just a sign your line is not you know protecting in the past pro as well as you would like them to yeah i think that that's a fair concern to have uh that you know we've seen jaylon against the blitz be a real topic of conversation and a sticking point. And, you know, I don't think we have a great answer through training camp on whether that's going to be the case or not this season. You can flip that even to the tackles and say, what if Jalix's awesome summer is just actually a bad sign for Lane and Jordan? Yeah. You know, I'm not quite there. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not there, but you're right. Like, it's been, I think I, that one I will push back on. I'm sure that people are like yelling at us in the,
Starting point is 00:32:22 you know, in the comments or just like, you know, how could you say that? I think, Jaylix has just been awesome this summer. I really think so, yeah. A couple superchats before we get to break. Brendan Martin has a pair. What the Sigma? I don't get it. That one's over my head, I'm afraid. And then what's your guy's favorite Cardi album? For me, it's WLR. Does that mean anything to you? Playboy Cardi. I'm not up on Playboy Cardi's discography. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm not bringing anything to the table here. Yeah, Brandon, I'm sorry, man.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Alas, we will take a break. Come back on the other side. Get to a quick little hand your dealt and then talk about turkeys to the position battles. Stay with us. You're watching a football show. You know what that means? You probably like football.

Starting point is 00:35:09 ready whenever you are. You know the deal. You got to have a wawa. Back in the P.HL.I.E.G.combeau in E.J., time for the hand you're dealt, presented by our friends at Parks Casino, and in conjunction with this discussion, good little bridge here between the two topics. I'm curious which position you think
Starting point is 00:35:32 will look the most different between now and week one. So you see Stowers, Dalton, and Epps there, but this is really more about the room itself. Will a tight end room look the most different? Quarterback room, safety room. Where do you think Howie has the most moving and shaking to do over the next week? Yeah, it's interesting because I think I'm going to separate,
Starting point is 00:35:52 I'm going to take safety out already. but tight end or quarterback. I think it's more likely that there's a traded quarterback because I think something has to give. But I think that they will be, this is like, follow me here. It's more likely that they make a trade at quarterback because like they kind of have to trade one of those guys. Like, you know, otherwise they're going to have to cut one.
Starting point is 00:36:13 I don't think they'll want to do that. But I think they will be more proactive trying to trade for a tight end if that makes sense. I think they will, if you told them you had to choose one, they trade for a tight end. I think it'll just be easier to trade a quarterback. I probably am still going to take tight end though. I think so too.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Like in terms of like in terms of the room that will, the position group that you will see move the most on the field, you know, the group that is going to be most affected and tangible on field product, I think tight ends the answer. I agree with you. And Brendan Martin with a. topical super chance is what do you think of darnel washington being a trade candidate for the eagles
Starting point is 00:36:58 also feel like eagles should get rid of mckee and allow peyton to take his spot as the developmental piece darnal washington just got a contract from the steelers so they're not going to trade him i well i do wonder if friarmouth is like they would move on to him and and you know erin robert tunion is there maybe erin rogers would rather throw a tunian that's a fun one i could see i like firemuth i think that'd be good yeah slots in, you got a real, like, capable 12 personnel group now. That's what I did look at that. But unfortunately, I don't think darn out Washington's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:37:33 And then, you know, trading McKee to allow Peyton be the developmental guy. I do think that Peyton's going to be the developmental guy. I have a couple quarterback trade options for you, too, BJ. I think there are two possibilities for what, how I would look for here. It's the draft pedigree fallen star. that you want to rehabilitate, and then it's the scheme lord fit with Mannion. This guy is your actual backup quarterback.
Starting point is 00:38:03 Okay. So if it is the former, and it's like, okay, maybe you're trading McKee, Dalton is on the practice squad, and this guy is the theoretical quarterback too, but really if there was a game, it might be Dalton, Anthony Richardson, yeah, J.J. McCarthy.
Starting point is 00:38:21 And then the crazy one is, like, are the Falcons, is Michael Pennix available? Unlikely, probably, but possible. And then the scheme guys, two of them are clear Mannion fits. One of them is just an old friend. But if the Raiders are willing to hand things over to Mendoza, you know, Kirk Cousins and Mannion are boys. Yeah. You know, when they bring the Melvin in. unlikely.
Starting point is 00:38:53 How would you feel about that? I mean, it's good content. I do have a score to settle. It's a good content. Somebody we talked to about Sean Mannion at the Super Bowl, E.J., Drew Locke, big fan of Sean Mannions. They have Jaylon Milrow. I was watching a little bit of that preseason game the other day. Milro does not look ready to be a number two quarterback, but I could be wrong about that.
Starting point is 00:39:15 Maybe Seattle does view him as ready for that mantle when they trade Drew Locke. And then the other one, which seems actually, if I was going to pick one that I actually think could happen, it is Arizona sending Gardner Minchu back to Philadelphia because they've got, you know, Carson Beck has looked interesting in the preseason. You've got Brissette. Do they really need Minchew? Probably not. That's one where I feel like that could happen.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Yeah, I think Minchu and Richardson stand out as the ones like I could really see that happening. I think Drew Locke would be really fun. I mean, as a reporter, I'd love it. a good quote and yeah the mannion connection yeah you could you could sign me up for those i'd say those are my my top three there um yeah i i don't know too but i imagine that jalen beatos that do you think he actually would i mean it would just be like he wouldn't be too how it would be like uh hey jalen what do you think about this and jeline would give him like a kind of like a rye kind of semi smile yeah like a paint
Starting point is 00:40:19 and then just walk out of the room. Yeah, it's a type of thing. They've, I mean, they had Tim Tebow on the roster. They were fine with that. So I don't know of the, like, the circus or the, just like the story that would come from that would dissuade them. But I just don't think he's, um, I don't think, with a 10,000 percent veto.
Starting point is 00:40:39 I think I nailed exactly what he would do. Yeah, it would just be like, you could not say it. He wouldn't want it on the record, but he'd be like, don't, don't bring that, don't bring that into my kitchen. Come on. Yeah. JJ McCarthy is just like I don't I don't think he's very good so I think that's my opinion but maybe how he is like I can fix him you know maybe that maybe that's how you view it
Starting point is 00:40:59 all right let's close the book on the hand your dealt presented by parks casino and let's get to turkeys to training camp we start at backup quarterback we've spent a lot of time talking about this we have added we have the field here so intermikey Andy Dalton and the field At last check, Fran was at 80 turkeys on McKee. You were split 40, 40, 20 with the field. And I was 75 Dalton 25, McKee. So we are all over the map here. Where do you have it today?
Starting point is 00:41:31 I've got 60 on McKee. I've got 30 on Dalton and 10 on the field. And I feel fine about that. I feel really, actually, I feel good about those groupings there. I think it'll be McKee. There's an outside chance. It's Dalton. But if it's Dalton, I think they will explore the trade market.
Starting point is 00:41:48 And yeah, I don't think it's like likely that they'd get somebody that they'd make the second, the number two quarterback. But yeah, I think that that's a feel good about those numbers. I have 45 on McKee, 30 on Dalton, and 25 on the field. Okay. Lindsay's disembodied voice will let us know what Fran has. Hey, um, why are you laughing? Fran said, Tan Rakee 95 turkeys, Andy Dalton, five, field zero.
Starting point is 00:42:20 And he said, I was at 80-20 in favor of McKee three weeks ago, and I only feel more cemented in that now. This always made the most sense. All right. We'll see. That's interesting. All right. Running back.
Starting point is 00:42:37 Number three, running back is what we're discussing here. Will Shipley, Damien Pierce. We had Elijah Mitchell listed in here, but he's gone, and there's the field. we were all heavily on Shipley at last go. I am willing to go 100 turkeys on Will Shipley right now. Yeah, I put 98 on Shipley and two on the field. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:00 And Lindsay, how does Fran have it? Fran has 100 turkeys on Will Shipley, zero on Damien Pierce, you're on the field. And he said, Pierce flashed a bit early in camp. That's why I initially had this at 6030, just three weeks ago. but Shipley has had solid couple of weeks, and Pierce has gone quiet. I think they can certainly afford to upgrade over Shipley in the long term, but for now he's their best option at RV3.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Yes, Damien Pierce looked good. First week or so of camp has been battling an injury. Looked like he was limited yesterday, which was an upgrade for him, but there's no way he's going to make this team based on the strength of that week alone. And Shipley, to his credit, has looked pretty good and borderline dynamic over the past week or so. So I think he has, he has aged well over the course of the summer. Yep, agreed. Number four wide receiver, presuming that it's Devante, Wicks, and Lemon at the top.
Starting point is 00:44:00 And this one, we're going by like snaps, Weeks 1 and 2. Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore, Darius Cooper, Johnny Wilson was listed at one point. He's gone in the field. At last check, you and Fran, we're at 50 on Hollywood Brown. I was at 40 on Hollywood Brown and then we all had Darius Cooper shortly or closely behind. I'll let you go this time. I've got 50 on Darius Cooper. I've got 30 on Hollywood Brown and 20 on Elijah Moore, zero on the field. Interesting. I still have 65 on Hollywood Brown, 25 on Darius Cooper and 10 on Elijah Moore. I still think that the
Starting point is 00:44:47 The money he's getting paid and the pedigree is going to have Hollywood Brown there. But if Hollywood Brown is not playing on special teams and Darius Cooper is, do they have five wide receivers active? Probably not, maybe. I don't know. It is an interesting one. I think he has a role. This, to me, was just about who's four and who's five.
Starting point is 00:45:10 And I feel like Darius Cooper has earned that fourth spot where I could see him getting more targets and I could see him playing more. I do think Hollywood Brown will have a role, though. So I think it'll be close, but I think Cooper's earned a bigger role. All right, Lindsay, how does Fran see it? Fran says Hollywood Brown 45, Elijah Moore, Zero, Darius Cooper 55, Field Zero. And he says, three weeks ago, I had this basically split down the middle, the slight lean towards Hollywood. Now it's a slight lean towards Cooper, who I'm not quite as bullish on as you guys are.
Starting point is 00:45:44 Hollywood is one of the tougher guys to figure out on this roster as far as his standing is concerned. They give him established a bet treatment, no reps in preseason, no four special teams early in practice, whereas Cooper is playing real snaps in preseason games. It's weird because I could also see a reality where he doesn't even make the 53 if Lemon progresses well. Regardless, I do not think more is on the team. All right, there you go. All right, let's do one more before the break here, E.J., and this is at the tight end position. we've discussed a lot in this episode.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Number two, tight end, Eli Stowers, Johnny Munt, Grant Calcutera, and the field. Last check, we were all heavily on Munt. You were at 80, Fran was at 100, I was at 90. I have dropped it down. I have 70 on Johnny Munt, and I have 30 on the field. 75 month, 25 field. We are in complete alignment.
Starting point is 00:46:37 It's a lot of what we talked about earlier. I could see them adding somebody over Johnny Munt at this point. And Lindsay? Fran says Eli Sowers, zero. Johnny Mont, 100. Wow. Trent Calcutero, zero, field zero. He says this is exactly where I was three weeks ago at this time and nothing has changed for me.
Starting point is 00:47:00 I would be surprised if they acquired someone that was good enough to immediately unseat month. It's possible so I guess I couldn't completely roll it out, but I still think it's Johnny Football as the T.E. 2. Johnny Football. I think we're a little lower on Johnny Month than Fran in terms of, it's not that hard to unseat Johnny Munn is the second tight end. One thing I want to add really quick on this is this is really to me a commentary on Eli Stowers because if he had had a better summer, I think the field would have almost not. You just go, well, you know, you hope that Eli Stour steps into that role by the midway point of the season. The summer he had and now the fact that he's injured, that is actually what pushed Johnny Munn down for me because I think he's, it makes it all the more likely they make a move at the position.
Starting point is 00:47:48 I think that's right. I think that's precisely correct. All right. Time to take a quick break. In just 120 seconds, we'll be back to talk about the rest of the position battles. Stay with us on the P.H.O.I. Eagle Show. Back to school season, for some of us, has already happened. Starting point is 00:49:56 Visit Rothmanortho.com slash P.HOI to get back to doing what you love. Back on the PHOY Eagle Show, Boen EJ, let's get to it. Tackle three. Who's the swing tackle? Fred Johnson or Markell Bell? Where do you lay? I put 80 on Markell Bell, 20 on Fred Johnson, and the 20 on Fred is mostly because Markle Bell is injured right now. And we don't know the severity of it. I've got 71 in Markell, 29 on Fred. I'm just, I'm holding a little bit of space for,
Starting point is 00:50:29 they want to go with the old hand. They think there's a little bit more reliability there. It's not what I expect, but it's a possibility. Have I, have I gone too far on Fred Johnson, being out on Fred this summer? He just has had such a bad summer. I don't think he's a good fit for this game. You know, I brought up on Cusa's show this morning that I don't have him on my 53 right now.
Starting point is 00:50:50 I just, I don't know. He's like the 54th player for me. I don't think you have to have him on the roster. I think you could get him through to the practice squad. The question that we don't have the answer to is if Fred's okay with that, you know, if they don't have him on the roster, does Fred say I want an opportunity elsewhere? Maybe I'm, maybe I've gone too far on like the Fred skepticism, but it's just been such an ugly summer like you know it's a new system and markelle bell has just been much better than him
Starting point is 00:51:16 this summer yeah i i feel like i would be i would spread my turkeys like 33 he's on the roster as o t4 33 he's on the roster as ot3 and 34 he's off the roster entirely like all of those things are very believable to me yeah i see the question in the chat says they have too much equity in Fred, I think that the Markell Bell pick makes him expendable. You know, now, I think they'd probably like to have a fourth tackle on the roster, and I don't know who that would be if it's not him. But again, if you can get him through to the practice squad and call him up on game day and week one, like, I don't think he has to be on the roster.
Starting point is 00:51:57 Okay. And how does Fran have it, Lindsay? I'm going to guess, I'm going to guess that Fran has 92 on Markell Bell and eight on Fred Johnson. Love telling you that you're wrong. Um, Fred Johnson, five. Markell Bell 95. I would not call that wrong. You didn't say the right numbers.
Starting point is 00:52:21 I mean, that is almost, almost dead accurate. That was a great call. But almost isn't exact. So there you go. He said three weeks ago, I had this as a 60-40 split in favor of Bell, but now I feel even more confident in that assertation. Those recent injury and Johnson's veteran status on the roster are the only things making me keep the door cracked for Fred. All right. Interior offensive linemen four.
Starting point is 00:52:50 This has been over the course of the summer, Michael Jordan, Drew Kendall, and the field. The field now includes Willie Lampkin. And is there a possibility that Willie Lampkin is pushing Drew Kendall to be the top interior offensive line backup week? One, I believe the answer is no. I have 100 turkeys on Drew Kendall. So do I. 100 turkeys. I'm guessing Fran also has 100 turkeys on Drew Kendall.
Starting point is 00:53:15 That's right. An exact number. 100 turkeys on Drew Kendall. He said this was evident early on. That's why I had it was 100 turkeys three weeks ago. And while Willie has more than proven himself, I think Kendall is certainly the first man off the bench as we go into the season. I'm not going to name names.
Starting point is 00:53:34 Someone floated to me. could Drew Kendall be the second best guard on this roster? And I said, I pump the brakes. Let's not go too far on the Landon Dickerson skepticism. But yeah, it's at least, it was at least a conversation, you know, there's at least something that someone thought. I think I think I have a guess for who it was. Don't out them.
Starting point is 00:53:54 I don't want them to be, I mean, they said it to me in confidence. Howie Roseman. It was not howie. All right, let's go to the other side of the ball. Defensive tackle four. and this is one where there maybe has been some movement because we all had it pretty much locked up as Byron Young three weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:54:11 But since then, Ty Robinson has had that heart beating on the come while Byron Young has been injured. So how do you see this one, E.J.? Yeah, I have 60 on Byron Young still. I've got 25 on Ty Robinson, a big boost for Ty. I have five on Gabe Hall and 10 on the field. I want the record to show. I had the most on Ty Robinson the last time we did this.
Starting point is 00:54:37 So I let the door open for him. That's true. Yeah. But I have the most combined turkeys on Ty Robinson, including their last two. Okay. I had 40 on him at the beginning. So if he ends up being the guy, that will be a turkey windfall for me. I have this as a two horse race.
Starting point is 00:54:56 I like Cape Hall too. The field, I don't really see them adding here. I have a pretty close split, 52 on Byron. and young 48 on Ty Robinson okay is that how this game works that it's cumulative turkeys it's not just your your last one yeah it's also it's telling a story but yeah that's exactly that it's no works yeah I think I'm gonna win the there the Darius Cooper one if he is the fourth wide receiver then because I was high on him from the beginning all right let's guess France he's mostly sticking to fives and zeros so I'm gonna say he goes
Starting point is 00:55:29 65 Byron Young 35 Ty Robinson No. Byron Young, 50, Ty Robinson 45, Gabe Hall 5, Field Zero. And he said, this is one of my biggest adjustments over the course of camp. Three weeks ago, I had the Noah Geroa at just five turkeys and said, I wasn't sure he'd make the team. And now I have him at a near 50-50 split with Byron Young as the first DT off the bench and base. Young's injury complicates things as it makes him, quote, out of sight and out of mind. The five turkeys for Hall are basically under the possibility that Robinson does not make it and Young is hurt to start the ear putting Hall as the de facto DT4
Starting point is 00:56:17 There you go. I think the Byron Young injury for E.J. is an important one to Yeah. Keep an eye on Although he did he did go to limited yesterday so they can't yeah, but still Yeah, could he be an IR stash? Something to give him my limited. I feel like they would hold him all right Edge four, now this is presuming Crenard plays, and I think we would just change this to edge three if he doesn't. Ebikati, Eponessa, James Newby,
Starting point is 00:56:47 who is not going to have any turkeys for many of us, I think, and the field. At last check, Fran was very heavily on Ebikati, 90 turkeys on Ebikati. You were at a nice 69. I was at 42, pretty close to a split with Epinessa. Right now, I go the other way. I have 48 turkeys on Epinessa, 42 on Ebokiti, and 10 on the field.
Starting point is 00:57:10 Yeah, I don't have any on the field. I went 60 Evacati, 40 Epinessa. Now that I'm looking at it again, I might make that even tighter. Because I think the thing is Epinessa is going to have a roll on early downs. That is the stylistic thing, right? Abacetia is dropping. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:29 So I feel good about Epinessa getting on the field. But I just think Evacati's been solid this summer. So, yeah, I probably have it more like 55, 45, 45 is my final answer here. Fran is going to have 55 on Ebikati, 45 on Epinessa. And he's going to say this is the other one where my turkeys have changed the most over the past three weeks. I used to have 90 on Evacati, but I've been impressed with Epinessa what I've seen from him this summer. Arnold Evacetti, 20, AJ Epinessa, 80. Wow.
Starting point is 00:58:04 James Newby, Zero. field zero. Another huge jump, as the last couple of weeks have really flipped this for me. I was worried about, I was worried that Epinessa was damaged goods because of how long he was on the market. He looks fresh and he has showed well in preseason games. He's changing the line of scrimmage constantly in the run game and he's pushing the pocket as a rusher. Evacetti is not as powerful as impactful. It's not that he's bad. He just doesn't pop in the same way. I think both guys make it so it's probably moved. But if Jaylick stubs his toe in week one and they need someone to step in opposite Nolan Smith for a drive.
Starting point is 00:58:36 I've a hunch that it'd be AJ over Aba Ketti based off what those guys had looked like on the grass this summer. This is a tough one though. Okay. There you go. Just flip flopping all over the place. He's just twisted in the way. That's a wild swing.
Starting point is 00:58:53 It's been like 10 days. The only thing I kind of push back on, if Jaylux hunt stubbed his toe before week one, I think everettie would play a lot. Just like, again, it's a stylistic thing. Yeah. Yeah. I think that's probably right. All right, starting linebacker opposite, Zach Bond, LB2.
Starting point is 00:59:11 I've got 100 on Jehad Campbell still as good as Jeremiah Trotter has been this summer. 92 for Campbell, 8 for Trotter. I'm not closing the door on Trotter. I mean, there's pockets of the fan base who think you should start. Yeah, I'm going to keep just a tiny bit on Trotter there. I'm going to guess. You know what? I'll tell you, France, in Lindsay time.
Starting point is 00:59:42 Lindsay, it's a good sign. on the same page. Yes. Before tomorrow night. Every day's Lindsay time. I'll be two. Jehad Campbell, 95 turkeys, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. 5. And he said, this is exactly how I had it three weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:59:57 Campbell has not been bad. He has, he has to be the starter. Trotter has been good, but I just can't see them making that choice. There you go. Back up nickel. Michael Carter the second. Jonathan Jones, Mack, Mac, McWilliams, and the field. I've got 85 on Michael Carlin.
Starting point is 01:00:14 Carter, 15 on Mac McWilliams, nobody else. I got 86 on Michael Carter. I've got eight on Mac Mac Williams and six on Jonathan Jones. Okay. Are you checking my math? I promised you. It's perfect. I'm not checking your math.
Starting point is 01:00:29 I'm just inputting the results. Okay. Yeah. I think it's Michael Carter. I think so, too. I'm going to guess Fran has 85 on Michael Carter. I think he has the exact. same thing I had, 85, Michael Carter, 15, MacMac Williams.
Starting point is 01:00:48 You guys are really not on the same way, on today. Good thing it to me and you, though, that are. He said Michael Carter, the second, 40 turkeys, Jonathan Jones, 30, MacMac Williams, 30. Wow. Yeah, he said, this is tough. On one hand, Carter is the most likely to make the team of these guys, and he played in the slot for them last year in dime.
Starting point is 01:01:10 Stans your reason he would do the same this year, but correct me if I'm wrong, We haven't seen him play there in practice, right? It's been Jones, Mack, and the two UDFA's rotating in there with the twos and three. So that's why I made the adjustment that I did. Two weeks ago, I had Carter at 60 with Jones slash Mac splitting the remaining 40. Now I flipped. I think the most likely answer is that it's one of the Jones slash Mac,
Starting point is 01:01:31 so those two split the 60 turkeys with Carter having the remaining 40. I don't have a great read on whether they prefer Mac or Jones, but I think it would be a slight lean towards Mac. This is a tough one. I think we have seen Michael Carter at Nickel. Yeah, and we've definitely seen him at Nickel and in dime. He goes on the field in dime, but I think there are times when Vic has been doing this thing he's done lately
Starting point is 01:01:54 where it's like take one guy off for a play. I think Carter has gone on for Tijin and the nickel. Yeah, I mean, Vic basically said like, you know, he can be our backup at two different spots. So, yeah, I mean, it's true that he hasn't had a lot of reps there, but it's understandable. All right, last one. Starting safety next to Drew McCuba.
Starting point is 01:02:11 Marcus Epps, Michael Carter, and the field. last check you both had 60 on EPS I had 48 on EPS and I had a little bit more space for the field today I'm going 77 on Marcus Epps 12 on Michael Carter and 11 on the field I went 90 on EPS Wow five on Carter and five on the field Just feel like EPS has been fine
Starting point is 01:02:33 You know I think he's been what you would have hoped to see And I don't know I think that they've got other more pressing needs in the trade market But yeah I didn't close the door on it but I think it's most likely EPS will just be the starter. All right. I'm going to guess Fran goes 80 Epps, 15 Carter, five field. Marcus Epps, 90 turkeys.
Starting point is 01:03:01 Michael Carter, zero, the field, 10. Wow. Three weeks ago, I had it as 10 turkeys that they trade for someone. I'll stand by that, but all my chips are on EPS as the starter. It certainly seems pointed that direction, based, pointed that direction based off the last three weeks. Okay. There you go.
Starting point is 01:03:23 Good stuff. Dynamic. Yeah. I see Fran's in the chat. I'd love to know if he likes how I read his quotes. Oh, of course he's going to like it. You did a great job. Well, I'll tell you what.
Starting point is 01:03:35 I don't know how he actually feels about it, but he's definitely not going to say anything bad about it. He's an honest guy. Yeah, but he's also not a jerk. But I'm here to tell you, because I would. be honest with you, that you did a great job. You are the least likely of the three of us. What is that? What is that supposed to mean? Push over millennial. Yeah, but I also, I could like walk around it. You know, I could try to evade it if I didn't think that she did a good job. I wouldn't
Starting point is 01:04:04 have come out and set it with my whole chest. I think she did a good job. Okay. I liked it. I like how she kind of just like swooped in. You know, that's why I was laughing because you just came out of nowhere. I like that too. Yeah. Now, Lindsay, the people in the chat are, wondering for the Ospreys tomorrow night, what's your, what's your game plan for keeping that face hidden? I'm just going to wear David Baker masks the whole time. I don't think they'd like that. Franz says, E.J., you won't get a frog out of your driveway.
Starting point is 01:04:39 You definitely wouldn't critique Lindsay's performance. I wouldn't, maybe I wouldn't critique it, but I wouldn't be, you know, forcefully complimentary. if I didn't feel. Also some questions about the attire for tomorrow night from people who are attending the Ospreys. Yeah, I got those too. You can wear whatever you want. There may or may not be an award for best dressed.
Starting point is 01:05:04 These are actually. I said may or may not. That covers the gamut. But I don't know. Don't go crazy. Wear something comfortable. But, you know. If you want to look good, it is an award show.
Starting point is 01:05:19 It's up to you. Wear what you want. Be comfortable. Don't wear a suit because we're wearing a suit. Don't do that. I mean, unless you want to, like, do it for the bit, but, like, don't feel like you have to wear, like, a collard shirt or something like that. E.J., we have a super chat in at the buzzer from CDP.
Starting point is 01:05:38 E.J., what's your favorite joke, Bo has said? I mean, you say so many jokes. Honestly. Much to some people's sugar in. No, I'm not not people whose opinions I respect. I mean, I can't just like name a joke that you said. You say a lot of jokes. You make me laugh every show.
Starting point is 01:05:56 That's what I would say. Every show you say something that makes me that sweet. Can I, can I share something you said in the ads that didn't that like got left on the cutting room floor because we had a tech issue? When you said something about I think it was Rita's being rich and creamy. And then you mentioned E.J. Yeah. Don't love that.
Starting point is 01:06:14 I don't love that one. I was sad The pasta man's good Yeah that was a good one The pasta man Oh That one That one makes me laugh every time
Starting point is 01:06:26 Little Miss run the ball says This is the least helpful Dress Guide ever I don't have a good answer for you I think that's how that tells you How about like you're going to dinner Yeah You're going on a date
Starting point is 01:06:40 What kind of date A hot date I don't like this. No, I don't like this at all. We can't, we can't let this and keep going. Just like that strawberry cheesecake smoothie and Rita's. Shout out to Rita. Shout out to read us.
Starting point is 01:07:07 All right. That'll do it for this episode of the P.H.O.Y. Eagles podcast. Good news. There's another show tonight.
