Starting point is 00:00:04 and welcome the DHSY Eagles podcast on a beautiful Monday afternoon. Bull Wolf E.J. Smith live from the Xfinity Studio and presented by Ashley. E.J. How you doing? I'm doing great. It is, it is like perfect outside. Oh, yeah, baby. I mean, yeah, it's 70 degrees. It's like one of those days where you don't get these that often in Pennsylvania, you walk outside and it's like, I wish my house was this temperature all year. Like that nice, airy 70 degrees, like perfect day. Oh, perfect. The kind of day where you could wear shorts and a T-shirt, but you're not going to sweat by walking four blocks.
Starting point is 00:00:41 Yeah, or you can't, I mean, you could honestly wear jeans. You can wear a little jacket. Or nothing if you want. I mean, you could do that in this weather. That's, it's the most like, you know, it's versatile weather. You can do whatever you want on a day like today. And what a day it is. Game two, Flyers Cains, tonight.
Starting point is 00:01:00 630 watch or 630 pregame show. Mm-hmm. Games at 7. Watch along with the gang. And then he got Nick Sixers. Oh, man. 8 o'clock. Pre-game show 730.
Starting point is 00:01:14 And by the way, the merch is flying off the shelves. When I went to Flyers Game 6, I told you that. Yeah. And I saw two different people wearing the buy ticket, take the ride, PHLY shirt. And now we've got some new Sixers merch. to drop. It's a VJ Edgecombe shirt. Oh, look at these. And I feel like you should do the read for, you should tell us about that other one because. Big Gart. I like it. All right. That's a Will Hernandez shirt that we've decided to make. No, it's a Joel M.B. shirt for the record.
Starting point is 00:01:49 That VJ shirt's awesome. I might have to get that one. I think we made it. I don't want to, I don't want to say it in case I'm wrong, but I think we've updated the, the vendor from the, the shirts we get. They've, they've, always been great. And I mean that. Like, even before I worked here, I was surprised at how quality the shirts are. But they made a switch recently that has me very excited. Because I mean, we're going from like A plus tier to S tier on the T shirts right now. Okay. So you got to get them. There you go. Snatch them up. All right. Let's pivot to the Eagles. Hold on. Can I give you one more sixers take? Sure. Jalen Brown. Oh, what a loser. Biggest losers of all time. He's a great player.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Absolutely pathetic. I don't even know that I agree with that. I really appreciate his game as a player. But like... Oh, I don't appreciate his game. I actually like his game. Those forearm shivs every single time he's driving? Give me a break. All these great players.
Starting point is 00:02:40 What a loser. Circumant the rules. But they don't all complain and get on a stream to complain about flopping. Oh, my God. Go start a podcast with Debo Samuel. These ridiculous sore losers. Get a... Give me a break.
Starting point is 00:02:53 As a man who... As a man. As a man. Jalen, you disgust me. As a man. you are awful. As a man who has had people fill in the corners with the spray, and I've been like, no, listen, I'm not, I'm not cheating here.
Starting point is 00:03:09 You know, I am, I can, I can own my situation. Get out of here with that stuff, man. What don't we do? What don't we do? The complaints when he himself is like, is not only a flopper, but those, yeah, those push-offs every single time he's driving. Give me a break. Yeah, what a game, though.
Starting point is 00:03:26 What a game. What a game. A stone cold loser. Yeah. Let's talk, Eagles. I'm sorry. off the rails there. You would think, no, because we're here. You would think that when you've won a championship, you would be beyond that. Yeah, right? That is such loser behavior. I saw a clip that he
Starting point is 00:03:40 said that this year was the best year he's had playing basketball. Absolutely pathetic. What is like? Yeah. His parents should be ashamed of themselves. Oh, I don't go that far. Don't go that. They failed. They failed in race. No, don't do that. Come on. Yes. Come on, man. Just take the hold the L. It's been a while since you had to hold that L. Special line up special hands and say good game. Yeah. Come on. Pathetic stuff. Awful. All right. Let's talk Eagles. Yeah. Speaking of kids. Yeah. You spent the day with some children yesterday. I did not spend the day with some children. I went to AJ Brown's youth football camp. Okay. And yeah, I mean, there's not a lot of, you know, huge developments that came from it.
Starting point is 00:04:30 You know, AJ did not speak with the media, but I do have some big picture things I want to get out from this. Yeah. When is the last time that AJ Brown spoke to the media? Ooh, that's a good question. I don't think it's been in 2026. Almost certainly hasn't been in 2026, probably November of 2025. It hasn't spoken to reporters since November. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Okay. Despite all of the things going on and all the circulation. So certainly makes sense that you would go somewhere you know he's going to be. Yeah. I mean, we can, let's, we'll do this at the end. Let's talk about the camp because I don't, I don't want to lead with like, I know, that's fine. I'm just, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:07 It has been a while since we've heard from AJ. And I'll be honest with you, I didn't necessarily expect to hear from AJ. Especially in the 24 hours leading up to the camp, I knew that there was a strong chance that he would not speak to reporters. I think there was still a lot of good, you know, insight and, honestly, insight. There's good insight to glean from being there. And yeah, of course I was going to be there if there was an opportunity to be there. So what I can tell you is like, well, I guess I'll let's let me give you my big picture
Starting point is 00:05:39 takeaway from the camp because I do think that this is the insight that I took away from it. Okay. I don't think there's as much bad blood between AJ Brown and the Eagles as most would suspect and as the situation that they find themselves in would would lead you to believe. I think that, you know, and like why am I saying that? because if you're at the camp, like, AJ is doing Eagles chance with people, his kids doing Eagles chance, like, you know, they're, hey, at the end of the camp, he did a sign off that Olivia Reiner took a video of, you know, basically saying, like, I don't care what's out there.
Starting point is 00:06:10 I love you guys, the fans and the kids that were there. And to me, like, obviously, like, well, what else would you expect him to do? I don't know, but I do think that, like, covering AJ the whole time I've covered him, covering the story the whole time, I don't think that this is a, AJ's kicking in screaming his way out of Philadelphia. Now, we can talk about why that is, but I do think that this probably will in a few years' time, we'll look back and look at it like,
Starting point is 00:06:37 probably a little bit more of an amicable breakup than I think it feels like in the moment. I don't know that I fully agree with that. Okay. I think the one thing that we have consistently heard, like there's not animosity between AJ and most of the locker room. Oh, absolutely. He's still very close with a lot of players on the team.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Still very close with a lot of people in the building. Yeah. I think that's true. Isaiah Rogers was there yesterday. Obviously not in the building, but still. But do you think that, do you think the Eagles would want to trade AJ Brown if he wanted to be here?
Starting point is 00:07:10 If he wanted to be here in a sense of if he was 100% committed and invested, then no, I don't. But I think with the way that last season went, I think that there is an eagle side of this where it's like, you know, it is what it is. It's probably time to move on. And I do think that the health is a part of it.
Starting point is 00:07:29 I think it can be overstated, but I do think that AJ's health and the long-term health is a part of this equation that maybe we don't talk as much about. I just, like, the picture yesterday painted to me was not one of a player that's like, get me out of here. You know, it wasn't one of like not saying Eagles or not doing Eagles chance or, you know, being, you know, kind of coy about it. But he's also, I mean, it's a youth football camp. He's not going to be pouting through that.
Starting point is 00:07:57 I don't think you would have been pouting, but I think that there were opportunities, there were opportunities for him not to lean into his appreciation for the organization and the fans. And now I will, I will say this, okay? Well, hold on. Let's stick on the situation here.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Because what I think happened here, just from reading between the lines and knowing how the Eagles operate, is that AJ Brown told the Eagles during the season last year, he wanted to be traded. And they said, we're not going to be able to acquiesce that during the season. Yes. But if you play along,
Starting point is 00:08:39 then we will try to find a fit for you in the off season so long as someone meets the price for you because we value you very highly. And so AJ Brown hasn't spoken since November so that, you know, he's not tanking their trade value. Right. They can afford to be patient and wait for someone to pay the price that they have set.
Starting point is 00:08:58 And on June 1st, or June 2nd or June 3rd, both sides will come to the end of that agreement. Yeah, and that's, I think we're saying the same thing. It's like at this point, it is an amicable, no hard feelings type of situation. I don't know that I agree with no hard feelings. But okay, maybe there are some people in the building that have hard feelings. I think overall it is kind of like, it is what it is.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Like to get there, there had to have been hard feelings. I think where it stands right now, it's just like a very matter-of-fact thing. Well, yeah, I think they've been living in this. reality for a long time. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:33 And I don't think that it's like across the board, no hard feelings either in the organization. Maybe some people are frustrated that it got to this point. But I just, I think that like it is. I just think they're already there. Like, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:45 That's fair. It's scabbed over at this point. Yes. There's no wound there anymore. Yeah. Yeah. I think that that's fair. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Okay. To address like the idea like, why would you mean the youth? What this is. But who was complaining about this? But to me, the show is a good opportunity for me to sometimes explain how I do my job. Okay. So I want to do that. I knew when I drove out there that AJ probably wasn't going to talk. For me, it's like, I think,
Starting point is 00:10:09 and he asked like who is complaining about this. I think people get so fixated on like internet points and winning internet points all day, every single day that they think that everyone is in that frame of mind. Like I didn't go to that camp to try and like score a viral tweet or a viral Instagram post. I went because of, and I hope our viewers and listeners know, like, I do my job in a way where I try to provide insightful, thorough, and balanced reporting. And being at these types of things helps me do that. You know, like if you have read stories that I've written about Sequin Barclay, about Jalen Carter, about, about AJ, about Devante, being at these things helps you provide insight and color into those types of stories. This is the biggest story in the NFL. If AJ doesn't talk, and I am there
Starting point is 00:10:57 for again, balancing out my coverage. If I wasn't there, would somebody have said, oh, he was doing this great thing for the community and nobody covered that? Probably, I probably would have heard that. So for me, it's like, it's balancing things out, showing that side the impact he has on the community. And again, being thorough about a story
Starting point is 00:11:16 that we have all been covering for months. So I wasn't there to get a quote. I think you are. I think this is an impassioned defense for something that needs no defense. You were doing your job. Okay. Yeah, I appreciate you saying that.
Starting point is 00:11:28 But again, no, but this is anyone who would, I mean, this is how my job works. I just want people to know that about like how I do the job. This is, I'm not an internet point guy. I'm not like, how many numbers did this do on social media?
Starting point is 00:11:40 This is a waste of your time and your energy and your thought process. That's probably, to spend any time worrying about someone complaining that you were doing your job. Ridiculous. I appreciate you saying that. But again, I like that the show,
Starting point is 00:11:54 the show gives me a chance to explain to people, this is how I do my job. Like if you've read stories I've written, a lot of times I do have like the impact a player has on a community in the story. This is a chance for me to do that. So no regrets. This is, I mean, very silly. You also, they wanted the thing covered. I mean, yeah, they did.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Yeah. Incipid, I mean. This is for this is a Carson Wentz audience of one kind of deal right now No, I don't know about that. I don't know. I heard from like a handful of people I would say. Morons. Ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:12:43 What I would say about AJ moving on from this. It's a very catchable ball for a kid. Like got to respect that. You know, I saw like people were making fun of his like route running. Yeah, that was funny. But no, when he was playing quarterback, like, as someone who, like, throws to my nephew, you got to make sure you put a lot of error under it, soft touch. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Pretty good at that. All right. Shout out to AJ. All right. Do you want to, is there anything that happened at Devante Smith's celebrity softball game that you wanted to, I know you weren't there. Just a couple of things. But it kind of speaks, it kind of leans into our topic for today.
Starting point is 00:13:17 Okay. Save it for the B block. Yeah, let's do that. All right. Let's take a quick break. We'll come back on the other side, talk about Devante Smith and the partnership. Starting point is 00:15:34 What's the scoop on Jankey Rondo's softball abilities? I will be honest. I didn't watch much of the softball highlights, but shout out to our friend, Zach Berman, who is there covering the softball game, the guy who was with David Baker. Oh, that's right. The author.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Yeah, yeah. Shout off to Zach. So yeah, I thought one of the more interesting things. I mean, listen, Devante was asked about AJ. He said exactly what you'd expect. Although, I think like Devante probably deserves more of a hat tip than he sometimes gets for being like, just like a really good, like singularly focused teammate.
Starting point is 00:16:10 You know what I mean? Yeah. He does a good job of staying out of other people's business. You know, I think... Here's the question for you. Go ahead. Will Devante be a captain again this year? Yeah, he's got to be, right?
Starting point is 00:16:21 I mean... I mean, they took it, they stripped him of it for two years. Yeah, and they kept, they let AJ have it. So, yeah, I think he probably gets AJ's captain's say from next year. Do you think they made the wrong decision? They gave it to the guy who's forcing his way out. Meanwhile, a good soldier had to sit there stripped of his sea. No, no, because we, as we just talked about in the A block,
Starting point is 00:16:44 AJ is his, like, leadership style and his leadership impact in that locker room is complicated. There are people in that locker room who feel like AJ is a great captain. I mean, Cooper de Gene was on NBC Sports, I think yesterday. I talked about how great of a teammate is. I just have such a fascination with Devante getting so complicated. I think ripped off of his jersey. The mistake was going that high on captain numbers. What was it 10?
Starting point is 00:17:08 Something like that. Yeah. To go to 10 and then be like, that's too many. It's like once you do that, it's hard to put the toothpaste back in the tube. Yeah. But I do think like there is, I'm not saying it's underappreciated. DeVante is appreciated, but. He is like the anti-Diva receiver in a lot of these public-facing ways,
Starting point is 00:17:26 which is funny because I do think Devante does have some of those like diva-receiver tendencies behind the scenes. Yes. Like you'll often hear, Devante is the receiver that yells about getting the ball more often than AJ during a game. And Devante has like a very particular off-season routine that if other more like controversial players had that, it would go over worse. And I'm not saying that Devante should get heat for this. I think it is reflective of the respect that everyone has for his professionalist. Yeah. But, okay.
Starting point is 00:17:55 And he was very professional in the way he answered the AJ question. But what I found more interesting and what I wanted to talk to you about today is we're starting to get some very early glimpses of this new receiver duo that the Eagles have, the new tandem of Devante Smith and Mackay Lemon and McCoy-Lemond. And you think about how Devante Smith and A.J. Brown's relationship. Funny if they made Mikelemon a captain this year. Over Devonte. You think about AJ Brown and Devante Smith's relationship over the last few years and how important they say that's been to the team. Now, listen, they're both great players.
Starting point is 00:18:26 I think that's the bottom line. But it's going to be interesting to see how Devante and Mackay Lemon mesh together, both on the field and off the field. And I found it interesting. Again, shout out to Zach here. This is a quote that he put out. Devante on McKay Lemon, where he says, whatever he needs, he can ask me.
Starting point is 00:18:41 I'm not going to try and get in his way. If he needs me, I'm there for him. What you'd expect to hear? Whenever you need me, I'll be there. Come on. It's a good song. Remind me about songs later. Remind me about songs.
Starting point is 00:18:58 Okay. Nice and vague. Songs you write on your... Songs. And also movie. Movie, yes. We got to talk movie. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:08 I do think like, whenever, when I read that quote from Devante, though, you know who I thought of? See if you can guess. Jason Kelsey. No, that's a good one. Darius Lay. Okay. Don't you feel like he kind of set the example for like veteran in a room with a young player coming in?
Starting point is 00:19:28 Probably like the games. I would argue that the Eagles would tell you. Jason Kelsey? That this is a thing that's been going on for a very long time. Sure. You can trace it to Jason Peters or Trent Cole. Yeah, but those guys don't mean anything to Devante. Well, I know, but it's all part of the same lineage.
Starting point is 00:19:48 It's like the culture of the team. It's the culture that they've, that's, this is something that they would tell you that they are proud to have fostered. I'll be honest, I feel like Slay in particular, though, is the example for these guys
Starting point is 00:20:01 because he's almost like, he's almost like separate from that culture. You know, he's not like a homegrown player that they brought up and then like ushered in the next homegrown player. You know, he was like a veteran
Starting point is 00:20:13 who had his own interest to look out for and still like fostered a bunch of, young players behind him, which I think is admirable. So for some reason, Slate came to mind for me with that one. Okay. But I think that hearing that is important because I think if you're trying to envision like the best version of Mackay Lemon, it's not a one-for-one with Devante Smith, but there are plenty of similarities.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Well, I mean, they're both undersized. Yeah. They're both like, they both have an element of like zone feel and route running prowess as a big part of their game. Yeah. as a result of a good person for him to be learning from. Yeah, sure. In theory, the Eagles have built it so that it is less dependent on just these two.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Yeah. And, you know, hopefully it will not be quite as narrow a target share, right? Yeah, it shouldn't be that top heavy anymore. Whether that's Wicks or Stowers or Goddard has more of involvement or Hollywood Brown. Obviously, Darius Cooper is going to get his 100 targets. A hundred, 120 maybe. But, yeah, I mean, listen, there's a lot is going to hinge on McKinnell, Yeah, I mean, high leverage moments, as much as you expect them to spread the ball around more,
Starting point is 00:21:27 and high leverage moments, you expect it to be those guys. So it'll be interesting to see how they, kind of like what the ceiling is for that, for that tandem there. You know, we've gotten used to seeing the Eagles have the best, at least the top three, wide receiving duo in the NFL. I'm not sure I'd say that those two have like that ceiling, but. I think it's probably right. Top eight, top ten, maybe.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Depends on. I'm the I'm more I actually think Mikey Lemon's the one that's like the swing one for me to be like Devante could be the best receiver in a receiving duo that's like the fifth best in the NFL but he needs like a really good number too yeah yeah okay you're a little lower than me there I don't mean I don't really have a strong opinion on that that's fair that's fair that's all good he could be the it could be the best on the best if the other guy is also Devonte's Smiths. Oh, you think two Devon, oh, that's fun.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Do you think two Devante Smiths is a top three receiving duo in the NFL? Uh, yeah. Yeah, I've, the Bengals' tandem is the only one. Rams? I think I might take, would you take, so it would be Devante Adams and Devante over Puka and Devante Adams? I probably take Devante and Devante. Probably.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Who am I missing? Let us know in the chat. Who are the other receiving duos? AJ Brown and Romeo Dobbs. I take Devante and Devante. I know, I'm joking. Yeah, I mean, it's close-ish. It's a good receiving duo.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Yeah, a lot of the ones that we like have been kind of blown up. But yeah, I think that Devante and Devante probably is a top five receiving duo. So that's probably the ceiling. We have a super chat to get to. Reverma. About AJ Brown. He complained on a podcast. Which podcast was that?
Starting point is 00:23:28 screamed, throw me the effing ball after catching a touchdown. He absolutely is forcing his way out. Is Janky Rondo the podcast? That was a stream, but that's a nitric. Semantics, yeah. He's done stuff like this each year he's been with the Eagles, though.
Starting point is 00:23:45 I mean, I'm not saying AJ wants to stay. I'm saying that I think it is less like, I don't think there's as much vitriol to the team as there is just like, but I think you are giving him two. much grace in like this is an amicable divorce.
Starting point is 00:24:02 It's like one of them came to the other with divorce papers and they're figuring out how to work forward for the best for the family. But that doesn't mean that the other one wanted a divorce. Yeah. No, I think that that's fair. I don't think the Eagles were like, yeah, sure, like sign me up. But I do think what I'm talking about is more about the fact that like it's just been so long now that it's kind of it is where it's where it is like, you know, it's at the point
Starting point is 00:24:28 where like, I mean, I don't know anything about like divorce stuff, but like, you know, I guess it's at a point now where like when they do kid drop off, it's like everything's fine, you know? Yeah. But, you know, if AJ Brown wanted to be here, McHilleman wouldn't have been their first round pick. Eli Stowers might have been their second round pick. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:49 You know, like a lot of things would be different. Yeah, I don't think the Eagles, if AJ Brown wanted to say, I don't think the Eagles were going to trade him. But I think the Eagles were more, I guess, what I'm saying is that like I think sometimes it gets painted as like the eagles were furious and refusing to sign the divorce papers and I don't think that's the case okay yeah um anything else on devante and mackay um I mean I've we heard from mackay lemon about devonte smith yeah um a first and foremost he said devante made it very clear right away like you're not getting my number i think everyone expected that but it was funny that he got the question like did you even
Starting point is 00:25:27 broke the topic with Devante. But no, they went to, I think it was game six. Six or Celtics game six. Yes, yes, yes. And yeah, so McIilleman got to know Devante Smith a little bit. And they do seem from game four. Game four. I was about to say game six seems.
Starting point is 00:25:44 Yeah, it was game four. Game four. The penultimate home game for the Eagles. So McCoy Lemon on Devante Smith here. He said, super humble guy, super chill, super calm. Kind of my type of vibe. I feel like me and him clicked on those things. But when we step on the field, you already know he's got that dog mentality.
Starting point is 00:26:00 So I feel like me and him are going to click well, definitely. Getting to know Mikhail Lemon very little over the last couple of weeks, you know, just through press conference settings. They do seem wired similarly. Like, you know, they're both pretty low-key personalities and they both have like an intensity in their play personality to kind of balance that out. So I think it'll be interesting to see how they mix on the field. Yeah, looking forward to it. Yeah. How do you feel about the Jalen throwing over the middle of the field?
Starting point is 00:26:27 discourse about it all. Honestly, since we talked to Nate, and if you haven't seen that interview, you should check it out. It's on our, there's a video with our interview with Nate. Talking to him made me feel less worried about it. I think that there is enough there in terms of Mackay Lemon's usage in college and the things the Eagles like to do that I think there should be some overlap. And, you know, I think if you're talking about McKay Lemon's use case, mostly being things the Eagles like to do in the past, and then adding in,
Starting point is 00:26:57 some of the things he does well over the middle of the field, then it becomes a conversation about, like, getting Jalen to be, like, 30th in it in the NFL, which I think is all anyone really is asking for. He's not going to major. More than that. But he's not going to major in it, and he doesn't have to major in it.
Starting point is 00:27:12 It's about getting him to a point where, like, you have to respect it. You know, I think you use a three-point analogy there where it's like, be Andre Drummond from the corner. 20-6, Andre Drummond. Don't be, like, 2020-and-dre-dramand, where they're not going to have to respect that shot. I think they're hoping for a little bit more than that.
Starting point is 00:27:29 25th. Yeah. Yeah. I think if he could get to the third quartile, that would be great. Yeah. And I think that there's enough reason to believe that he will. It's going to be on the coaching staff. And I think, yeah, Mackay Lemon and Eli Stowers,
Starting point is 00:27:47 they should help him get to 25th. While also doing things that he's comfortable with, that he's shown to be very good at, that they can still be dynamic players. I don't feel as, I'm not as worried about it. All right. We're going to take our second break, but on the other side. Now, EJ and I did have a chance to go to rookie minicamp.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Oh, yeah, this can be fun. On Friday, we got to see these guys on the field only for a couple periods, some new coaches, some of these players, judge their bodies, all kinds of stuff like that. And we have some takes that we are not going to be held responsible for. Yeah, no aggregating this. Some initial takes, including one pretty spicy one I think I have. And stay tuned to find out what that is.
Starting point is 00:28:33 Starting something new can be terrifying. Before this show even existed, I remember thinking, what if no one listens? What if my new co-host never appreciates Cam Latu? Starting point is 00:30:37 Time now. For the future is bright presented by our friends at Shady Rays. Now, E.J., we got to see rookies on the field on Friday. The glasses look good in person, but they look like yellow on camera. Like, hey guys, it's me, right. Do you agree, Lindsay? Don't they look kind of yellow? Why was DJ at that youth?
Starting point is 00:31:09 What's he doing? That's so creepy. I would never show up at a kid's thing looking for a quote. Man. Learn how to be a journalist. It's one thing I definitely know how to do, is how to be a journalist. Do you see what I mean? You can't see what I mean.
Starting point is 00:31:32 They're definitely yellow, though. Like if you had asked me before the show, what color are those? They're like a natural wood color. No, they're yellow. They look yellow on camera, though. You look like the emoji with the sunglasses on. Thank you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:48 Fun. Sorry. It's okay. All right. I got to see these guys. Uh-huh. It's exciting. First time you got to see him.
Starting point is 00:31:58 I remember the first time we saw Devante Smith. You're like, oh, man. I heard that his legs were skinny, but man, those are some skinny legs. Also, you saw him and it's like, yeah, this guy's going to be really good. Yeah, but I mean, this, we're talking, that doesn't mean that, you know, there was a bad thing. It was like, oh, wow, those are some skinny legs. Yeah. Anyway, first impressions, let's go, let's go one by one.
Starting point is 00:32:21 I'm going to let you go first. Mm-hmm. But this is a reminder. We have talked to the Philadelphia Police Department. We have talked to the Justice Department. anybody who brings up any of these takes or aggregates them in any way, you will be sent to jail. These are just one-off thoughts that you had in your brain.
Starting point is 00:32:41 Yeah. That you are not responsible for. Yep. Completely agree. No aggregation on this one. Go ahead. My first takeaway, my biggest one. Well, let's say, UR. Bernard was the big one.
Starting point is 00:32:53 Like, he jumps out the second you get on the field. Just physical traits, man, off the chart. But with some of the picks here, some of the top picks Don't go, don't give them all of them. Go one. I'm going to give you one. Okay. Well, my number one's who are, Bernard, I guess.
Starting point is 00:33:09 But let me go negative first. Okay. I was on record on the show saying that Eli Stowers look like a superhero. I need to walk that back. Interesting. I don't think he's, he's, I mean. It's a different body type than I was expecting.
Starting point is 00:33:25 Yeah, his measurables would suggest he's not tall for a tight end. He's 6-3, 240. And, you know, I think when you watch him at Vanderbilt, he does look bigger than everybody else out there. So you kind of expect him to look that way among the rookie minicamp players. It took a while to, like, find him, you know?
Starting point is 00:33:46 Which I think tells you, like, he can still be a really... He's not Tyree Jackson. Yeah, he could still be a really explosive athlete, but he's not, like, imposing in the way that, like, you want... He's not imposing in the way that, like, you want... He's not imposing in the... the way that you want that explosiveness to be in tandem with.
Starting point is 00:34:02 When you think about like the top tight ends in the NFL, they move freakishly well at a size that is bigger than everybody else. He just moves freakishly well, I think. He's not bigger than everybody else in a way where I was kind of hoping he would be. And he's not as like he's more, but I would say he's, he's a thicker up top. And I was expecting. Yeah, he doesn't find up top that I was expecting. He looks like someone who would struggle at this point in his career, like as a blocker
Starting point is 00:34:27 because he doesn't have as much of like the low end. Yeah. You know, he's not built up as much in the low end as you expect. Yeah. I was also, he was not my number one stock down. Body type wise, but he was, I thought he was going to look the part a little bit more. Yeah. I mean, this is again, he might be awesome.
Starting point is 00:34:45 It doesn't matter at all. But like. But that was awesome. Yeah. Even at like 6, 3, 240, like you could be built like Kenyan Sadie. And I didn't think he was like even just watching a tape. You knew he wasn't. But yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:55 This was not like a. Now, this is not exactly the kind of players that Chip Kelly ended up drafting, but the kind of like, we want to draft an off the bus team. Yeah. Mikele-Evon and Eli Stowers was not. Not off-the-bus guys. Yeah, I agree. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:08 Here's my, here's my juiccise takeaway. Yeah, I know. I know where you're going with this and I'm excited to hear. They go from, you know, you go from warm-ups to individual periods. And as always, I'm going right to the offensive line. Okay. I am used to. This is where I begin practice.
Starting point is 00:35:26 I want to see where everybody's lining up. I have become conditioned. I understand exactly what a Jeff Stoutland practice is going to look like. We've been doing it for over a decade now. Yeah. And I'm excited I want to see, okay, where, which position is Michael Morris? Is he right guard or left guard? You know, is Markle Bell going to be a left tackle?
Starting point is 00:35:44 I'm excited to see, like get some early answers here. And I know exactly what a stout warm up is going to look like. You know, they're going to be working on moving in unison. And then oh yeah, that's right. It's not stab. It's Chris Cooper. Yeah. Here's my, here's, here's my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my,
Starting point is 00:36:07 aggressive take. Yeah. It's time to bet the under in the 2026 Philadelphia Eagle. We go through, we go through, we go through individual warmups to several periods of team drills. Not once do we see these guys line up as an offensive line. Yeah. And here's what we see instead.
Starting point is 00:36:28 We see medicine ball pushing back and forth. like this is how you practice your punch we're throwing we're going medicine ball to each other he asks them to find someone who's the same size as you for this as if he hasn't already put the thought into who's gonna work with who during practice yeah then there's like a stick thing
Starting point is 00:36:49 like a yeah like a weird stick thing where it's like you're holding on this and there's like Mr. Miyagi stuff going on I'm sorry this is a football practice I want to see them line up as a football team get out of here get go out of here with that at practice
Starting point is 00:37:08 they're going to be terrible on the offensive line there there were more props than I expected for there to be out there was like a gimmick match and yes we are very much used to if Jeff Soutland were out there those guys would have been working on surface blocks
Starting point is 00:37:25 from day one by by by week two lane's going to be just running practice. Might not be the worst thing. Maybe that's a reason not to bet the under on the 2026. I mean, it's early. We can,
Starting point is 00:37:40 we don't see over. A water that sprays a flower on your lapel that sprays water at practice? What is going on here? Get Dallas got her to unicycle around? Yeah, the sticks. I've just not seen that many props with the offensive linemen there before. Now, you know, different methods. Maybe it'll work, but it was definitely a lot different.
Starting point is 00:38:00 It was weird. The future is dark. It's because you get them. Close the book on the future is bright. That was Ray, by the way. It was making those points. Oh, that was all shady red. That was, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:13 Yeah, it was weird to be at an Eagles practice and, like, not have Stoutland running things on the offensive line. Yeah. And, yeah, a lot different drills. A bow was, you know, being theatrical, I can reinforce that it was a lot different. It looked a lot different with the offensive line. than it are used to seeing.
Starting point is 00:38:32 So, but, you know, not, there are different ways to skin a cat. That's why, that's why Baskin Robbins has 32 different flavors, right? So, all right, my next takeaway. I thought McKay Lemon looked good, you know, looked explosive, looked good, getting in and out of the ranks. We saw, like, we just saw individual warmups, essentially,
Starting point is 00:38:49 but yes. He looked good. He looked like what you'd expect him to look like. Yeah. I would like to call out something, though. The, like, shin angle talk on social media, and this is not a this is not a straw man i promise you okay the the listeners will know there was a lot of talk about mchai lemon's shin angle and how important that is and listen shin angle shin angle shin ankle
Starting point is 00:39:10 shin ankle not shin ankle shin ankle not like it's the angle with which he was able cangles are great uh to get angles are great i like yeah i like kangles what cangles are great oh you're saying kangles tangles tangles not cancels no cancels are not great cancels are fine Cankles are fine. If you have cangels, it's all good. Cangles are great. It's fine to have cancels, but Cangoles are great. Oh, cancels are great.
Starting point is 00:39:37 Honestly, it sounds like, it sounds like a chip or like some kind of food, like, you know, like elbows. Yeah. Yeah, like cancels. Okay. Anyway. Sinn angle. Chin angle. Shin angle.
Starting point is 00:39:51 I just like, of course he's got good ankle mobility. Like, he's a first round pick at receiver. Yeah. who is known for running good routes. It's not like people, oh, man, this guy's going to be awesome because look at that shit angle. It's like, I'm not buying that stock. And I'm maybe I've conferred with some football guys to confirm that that can be overstated.
Starting point is 00:40:12 Okay. Yeah. But he looked good otherwise. I thought he looked good. This one is less fun. Kegels. Not Kegels. Kegels also great.
Starting point is 00:40:28 finally got Lindsay to pay attention for the first time today. I would say slight disappointment in Markell Bell's physique in a way that's not that to talk about, but just the lower body is it leaves a little bit to be desired. Yeah, I think so I always say with Jordan Milata, like, because he is like the massive offensive lineman template, I'm not doing it. You can do it if you want. Jordan Mylata. He is like a proportionate 6-8, 365 pounds.
Starting point is 00:41:08 It looks like you held the shift button and dragged him on Microsoft painting program you use. A lot of guys aren't built like that when they get into the NFL. Jordan Davis wasn't. You know, Jordan Davis was always like, you know, he never was like skinny. Like he didn't have skinny legs, but like he has gotten more proportionate as he's gotten older. Markle Bell is pretty far on the other side of that spectrum though He is like he's kind of built
Starting point is 00:41:32 Sounds crazy to say He's gonna add some anchor Yeah it's crazy to say That somebody who weighs over 300 pounds Is built like a basketball player But he kind of does have like the long skinny legs Like a basketball player So he's built you know what kind of reminds me
Starting point is 00:41:46 We have like a young Fred Johnson Like Fred's got like skinny legs too To a certain extent So yeah he's going to have to like build out Some development that's off Yeah He moves pretty well. He's big.
Starting point is 00:42:01 Yeah, I mean, he is, he's towering. Even with the Eagles offense, even once the veterans are back, he still will be one of the biggest guys out there. But yeah, he moves well. I think he's just going to have to, yeah, I'd have questions about his anchoring ability in the NFL right. Early, yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:18 What do you got? I want to just wax poetic about who are Bernard now. Okay. Because the second you walk out to practice, he's all the way on the far field, you can't miss him. You cannot miss the guy. He's doing just like these,
Starting point is 00:42:32 you know, and it's like, geez, look at his arms. Like he's got the longest arms. I mean, wingspan, just his build in general. I thought he looked good
Starting point is 00:42:40 in like going through the position drills. He jumped during one of like the shoots. Like going through the shoot, he jumped one time. But like, I don't know. He just looked like an athlete to me. It's going to take a while,
Starting point is 00:42:50 temper expectations. Like there's a clip where he's like struggling to get his helmet on. Although I think he probably, probably knows how to put a helmet on. I mean, he's been doing the... I literally saw somebody helping him with his helmet. I saw, yeah, I saw the clip, but I mean, I'm sure that, well, I guess that's all that to say. It's going to take time for him to develop, but you see the vision, man. That guy looked awesome out there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Some interesting notes about, like, who they brought in... I got one more. I'm going to... This is my take of it. Sorry, I thought you were... Continuing on. All right, go ahead. The most interesting thing about the tryouts to me was the two veteran running backs they brought. in. Elijah Mitchell and Khalil Herbert. Now, maybe it's
Starting point is 00:43:29 because I liked both of those players, but this is, we talked about, it was a relative surprise that didn't really add an undrafted rookie running back. Now, they also had two tryout guys, Elijah Green from Sam Houston State and Jordan Simmons from Georgia State. But we also knew that this
Starting point is 00:43:45 class of running backs was really bad. So obviously the guys who didn't get drafted are going to be even worse. That room could use somebody else probably. Yeah. So I'm curious to say, if they will sign one of those players.
Starting point is 00:43:57 It was, you know, it's very clear as you watch them, like, oh, those are the two pros. Yeah. Right? Just the way that they're built and they move. I think they have two open roster spots right now. I believe so. They also brought in Chiefs Exquot.
Starting point is 00:44:13 Nazi Johnson for a visit today, reportedly. So we'll see what they do. I always like the idea of them just signing a trial player based off the way they performed over the weekend. So I'm curious to see what they do there. They could use another reinback. Yeah, I agree. There was also the Michael Jordan and Isaiah Thomas of it all on the tryout list.
Starting point is 00:44:34 Yes, Michael Jordan, the veteran offensive lineman. And then Isaiah Thomas veteran linebacker, although spelled differently than the guard, Isaiah Thomas. Yes. Well, the older guard, Isaiah Thomas, the Michael Jordan contemporary. Yeah. I wouldn't know is that's one where as a kid, I feel like I knew most of the names that were spelled differently. And I never really tracked that Isaiah spelled it differently.
Starting point is 00:45:03 It kind of sneaks up on you. Snuck up on me later in life. And like no disrespect to Isaiah Thomas and his parents. But like the other spelling is universally accepted as the correct spelling at this point. Certainly the more popular spelling. Yeah. Yeah, I guess correct might be too strong. But yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:19 All right. let's take a quick break. We've got a couple more takeaways from rookie mini-camp, initial takeaways. And then E.J. has called songs to discuss. Song and movies. So no song and movie. Singular. We have some exciting news to share with you guys.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Wawa now has tacos. That's right. They're expanding. They're freshly prepared food lineup with new seasoned beef tacos available for a limited time and they're built to deliver bold, craveable flavor in every bite. We're talking warm, soft tortillas with Wawa's savory, juicy, boldly seasoned beef, plus fresh toppings that you can customize your way. You've got options too.
Starting point is 00:46:06 Choose from seasoned beef, chicken steak, or black beans, add shredded cheddar cheese, pick up two spreads like salsa, roha, garlic aoli, barbecue, ranch, buffalo, or Chipotle, and finish it off with fresh toppings like shredded lettuce, salsa, fire rosa, corn, onions, or pickled jalapenos. And this season beef doesn't stop at tacos. It's available across the full lineup, including burritos, bowls, casidias, so you can mix and match
Starting point is 00:46:30 and build the meal as it fits your appetite. But don't wait. This lineup is only here for a limited time while supplies last. Next time you're at Wawa, grab a taco and find your new go-to order. What if you could have reliable and intelligent Wi-Fi? What if you could keep it at the same price

Starting point is 00:47:28 You can learn more at Xfinity.com. Xfinity. Imagine that. Select plans only, restrictions apply. Hello, we're back. I'm a P.HL. My Eagles podcast, Bo and E.J. It's over to you, my friend, for your next takeaway. Yeah, so I saw something weird on Cole Payton's helmet during practice, and then the photos at the Eagles
Starting point is 00:47:52 put out after practice confirmed that he was wearing a camera right at the eye level. And we talked about the Chris Cooper experience being different in practice than we're used to seeing. I think this is probably a window into the Sean Mannion experience for practice.
Starting point is 00:48:08 I think, you know, as a former quarterback, we've talked about the fact that Eagles have a lot of former quarterbacks on staff. Seems like they want to start to see like the quarterback's vision in the pocket based off of this. Now we'll see if they use it. Maybe it was just for the rookie mini camp, but I thought that was.
Starting point is 00:48:22 really interesting. This was really our first chance to see what a Sean Mannion practice looks like from the offensive side. Yeah, this is a thing that people have written about teams doing, right? And I think the Eagles have embraced it to some degree, but I don't know that we've seen Jalen wear that. Yeah, I don't
Starting point is 00:48:38 feel like I've seen very many Eagles quarterbacks wear the camera, but again, if you're Sean Mannion and you have lived experience doing it, then you would probably benefit from seeing quarterback's vision in the pocket. So what do you think of Cole Payton, first eyes? like a lefty quarterback. I like, I mean, I like lefties in general as a fellow lefty. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, the way like you always want to see. So he's already working on him getting the
Starting point is 00:49:03 ball out quicker. Yeah. He's got kind of a longer, slower delivery. Yeah, he's got the longer already working on that. Yeah. Yeah. Which makes sense. But I mean, in terms of like arm talent, didn't jump out one way or the other. Yeah. Seemed totally as one of your favorite words, cromulent. Like sure. Yeah. So yeah, I just was mostly enjoying the fact that he was a the quarterback when I was watching him out there. Okay. Eagles also brought in for a tryout the guy who
Starting point is 00:49:29 had, it was on the name guide. Oh yeah? Grossest way to describe how long you're in the bathroom. Pittsburgh wide receiver, do span. Okay. Also, Joaquin Jackson, a veteran from Tulane 59188 who's got some speed.
Starting point is 00:49:51 Yeah. Maximus Pulley. Still around. He is. Did any of the undrafted guys jump out to you? No, I mean, too much. I bet say we're only out there for a short one. But I was looking at Montemoro, Montemoro from Upper Iowa, which I didn't know existed. Montemoro had a game this year where he had four touchdowns and over 200 yards
Starting point is 00:50:23 receiving against South Dakota something. Is there more than South Dakota State? No. South Dakota. South Dakota Mines. Eight catches for 200. 16 yards within long of 81. Four touchdowns against South Dakota Mines.
Starting point is 00:50:41 Quite the stat line. These are the teams that Upper Iowa played this year. Drake, heard of Drake, South Dakota Mines, Michigan Tech, Lincoln, Missouri, Missouri, S&T. I don't know what the S&T is for. What is Mines? I'm still stuck on that one. Truman State. Truman.
Starting point is 00:51:02 Okay. William Jewel. McKendry, Quincy, University of Indy, and Hillsdale. Hillsdale I've heard of. Sweet catches for 170 yards in that game.
Starting point is 00:51:17 Hmm. So I'm genuinely asking. South Dakota Mines athletic program. That's what are yours? S&T is science and technology. Science and technology. That's good.
Starting point is 00:51:32 It's a school of minds and technology. No, I know Colorado School of Mines. Yeah, I never heard of that before. Didn't know of you. Well, I mean, I'm sure it's important to learn about minds if you're going on that. Apparently, their secondary was not very good. Because they're always worried about number one. You've got some good, some good dad jokes today.
Starting point is 00:52:00 Okay. Those are my takeaways from practice. All right. What are your songs? So, are you a Spotify guy? You Spotify? Okay. Listen to the show on.
Starting point is 00:52:11 Well, listen, watch the show on YouTube, but also go on over Spotify. Give us a five-star review. Are you a big Discover Weekly guy? I feel like you're not because it's probably AI generated. My Discover Weekly has been pushing a very specific genre on me recently, which is like edgy covers of like classic songs. Okay. I'm like, I'm really not sure what to do with this. Like, it's really aggressive.
Starting point is 00:52:35 It's like every song is like, what if this is like a good like 50s? or 60s like Motown or R&B or soul song, but just like repurposed from somebody in the last five years. Gentrified. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:52:53 And it's like, where did this come? I mean, I listened to some. What about you? I listen to giving it the impression that that's what you want. I mean, I don't even live in one of those. It's some soul searching. It's some soul searching. I mean, I listen to one band that I don't need to give a shout out to because,
Starting point is 00:53:10 you know, no free advertising. Um, but like they, I guess, would categorize as that. Okay. But like, this is not the one that you were excited about from the other week. No, I'll tell you. It's, they're called scary pockets. It's like, uh, it's like they're like a fun gas fusion type deal. There's some joke there about telling her, it's leaving the pocket.
Starting point is 00:53:33 Scary pockets. Bad offensive line. Something there. You got a bad offensive when, when, when you spend all your time at practice, throwing medicine balls. Scary. You're going to have some scary pockets. It's good. I was going to say we could do like put in the comments like your favorite like Eagles scary pockets joke. Okay. Anyway, I need Spotify to relax with this a little bit. Although what I will say is that I got one song out of it that I really like one song. But I had to like to your point about it being gentrified. I had to do some research before I saved it. That's all I'll say about it. But it's a good song.
Starting point is 00:54:10 But I need my Spotify to be a little bit more diverse. My issue with the Spotify algorithm and like the raps at the end of the year is most, like so much of what I'm listening to is the kids songs. Yeah. But they, they're choosing what to count and what not to count. Like they're not counting Lori Berkner or Rafi or whatever. I want, I want the stats. Yeah. Don't discard that because you think you know me.
Starting point is 00:54:40 But you're going to keep frozen in there? Like, no, no, no, no, no. I want it all. Yeah, to me, the Spotify Rapt is always like an anthropological study of just like what you do most. Yeah, like you drive your kids in the car more than you listen to like the music. I think Bo is listening to Lori Berkner solo in the car. There have been times where I will drop the kids off and it will have been like 10 minutes
Starting point is 00:55:05 I'm driving alone only that I then realize that I have just been listening to or Berkner or Rafi the whole time. Yep. Yeah, mine is always... And you know what? I don't just turn it off right away necessarily. Sometimes you gotta see it to the end. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:55:21 Mine is always just like, and this isn't even a flex. It's just the music I listen to in the gym because it's the same like 15 songs. Well, no, it's just not a very elaborate playlist. Okay. So... But what do you listen to in the gym? There's a great album by Cole Beasley from a couple years ago.
Starting point is 00:55:39 that I like to listen to on repeat. There's two Cole Beasley's then. I'm not familiar with Cole Beasley, the artist. That surprised you? Great rapper. Unless you, were you joking? No, he had a... I'm lost.
Starting point is 00:55:56 Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. I am sorry. Really, it's very cashy. The chat will let me know if you're joking right now. I'm sorry. This one flew over my head. Okay. What's your movie take?
Starting point is 00:56:10 I watched Marty Supreme yesterday. Okay, what did you think? I enjoyed it. I didn't read any reviews for this movie. I had no idea what the movie was going to be about when I turned it on. None whatsoever? Literally none. You knew it was Shalemate.
Starting point is 00:56:22 I knew it was my boy Timote. That's it? That's all you knew? That's literally all I knew. I promise you, I had no idea what the movie is about. Chaotic, especially for a dog owner. It was a stressful movie. A dog lover, it was a stressful movie.
Starting point is 00:56:36 Shout out Moses. And, like, tell me... I'm guessing this is your first Saffty movie? Probably. Okay. Now, is it... You didn't see uncut gems, right? No, I didn't.
Starting point is 00:56:48 Okay. Is it fair to say that that was Timothy Shalameh's Wolf of Wall Street? Like, that was, like, his take on that movie. Not his take, but, like, that was, like, his version of that movie. I mean, it's just kind of just like a charismatic, you know, male star actor, just, like, doing crazy stuff. for a couple hours, you know? I see what you're saying. Yeah, now his was more like
Starting point is 00:57:16 ups and downs and mostly downs. Like his was more of a spiral. Oh, the Wolf of Wall Street was too. So I don't know, they felt similar to me for some reason. I think chaotic is, that is sort of what the kinds of movies that the Safteys are making. Okay.
Starting point is 00:57:34 So I think that's a fair description. Did you like it? Um, yeah, I enjoyed it. Yeah. It was a fun movie. Yeah. I didn't, I'm used to like big, like narrative, big story movies. Like those are usually the movies I watch.
Starting point is 00:57:48 What? Like, I'm talking, I'm usually like, I'll watch. I mean, Sakari was like my favorite movie ever. And that's like a big story, you know, and it's like, it's pushing a plot line. Like Dune, um, the Marvel universe. It was a big thing I watched during the pandemic. So I'm used to like lore being attached to things. Like, so the movies that are just like,
Starting point is 00:58:07 Like, let's just tell you like a fun, quick story. Those are an adjustment for me, but I enjoyed it. It was fun. Okay. I mean, no spoilers, but no, I won't even spoil it. I don't want to spoil it. How about you spoil it in? Oh, yeah, let's do it.
Starting point is 00:58:23 Marty time. Marty time. I was, I'm going to spoil the movie. Boyles. Everybody should know. Spoiler alert. I am very glad that that dog was okay. If that dog wasn't.
Starting point is 00:58:37 wasn't going to be okay. When the, when they knocked over the electrical pole and the gas station and when the flames went up, I was ready to turn the movie off. I was so upset. Was it now, were you watching with Julia too? No, Julia was at work last night. Oh. Yeah. So no movie. Yeah, I was going to go to the movie theater. I texted Sean. Sallad. Shout out to Sean. You love it. Love it. I want to try it. I'm going to do it soon. But, you know, it was walking the dogs. It was beautiful out. And I was just like, I'm going to take my time getting home. I'll just watch a movie at home. Okay. So. What did Sean recommend you seen the theaters um it's a good question i mean he just he recommends he doesn't recommend like
Starting point is 00:59:13 you know like uh esoteric things for me he just wants to you got low brown taste he told me uh either devil wears prada two or project tell mary he told me to watch devil wears prada one and i'm like what makes you think i haven't seen that movie okay of course i've seen that movie okay yeah also the second one yeah let's all go together i want to see it too sounds fun let's do it yeah a little We could live stream from the theater and P-H-O-I field trip. And just get our YouTube page digging down. Well, no, it'll just be us watching the movie. Oh, like a watch-along.
Starting point is 00:59:46 Yeah. Perfect. I don't feel about that. A watch-along of Delworth Pront 2. That's mostly, mostly quiet. I can do like three takeaways from the movie. There's a theater in the back. Yeah, I've got the theater right behind me where I just watched this movie.
Starting point is 01:00:06 I'm going to give you my three quick. Takeaways. It's pretty good. Yeah. So I'm going to watch more movies. It's the off season now. Got to be able to balance things out. Amen.
Starting point is 01:00:21 Yeah. Lindsay, how was your weekend? This won't work. There we go. It was good. Hold on. I have to look at my calendar to remember what I did. Oh, I had a wedding on Saturday in New York City.
Starting point is 01:00:34 It was fun. Congrats to my friend, Mary and her husband, Danny. Congrats to Mary and Danny. They definitely don't listen to this. But what an appropriate name for a wedding. Their last, new last name is Golden. Isn't that cool?
Starting point is 01:00:47 That's a good name. That's a good last name. It's like fun. Mary Gold says you married rich. Sure. Mary Golden. I understood that one. Oh, and then today is my brother-in-law, Sean's birthday.
Starting point is 01:01:02 He isn't he's an Eagles fan, so. Happy birthday, Sean. Are we saying how old Sean is? Are we keeping that under wraps? We'll keep it under wraps. I'm not sure. I don't think he'd care, but. I like the comment from gratuitous D.
Starting point is 01:01:18 Meryl Streep was good in the movie, but her lower body wasn't full of the fifth. I think we have a couple super chats to clean up here. SRG, the shades are neon green guys. Trust me, I'm colorblind. Gerald Glickman, Bo. How many turkeys on if E.J. has seen scent of a woman. I'm going zero turkeys.
Starting point is 01:01:39 And if we pronounce his name as, and so who are Bernard and we go Huah! You could? I mean I don't think that's how he pronounces But you're not going to get the reference No I don't get it
Starting point is 01:01:50 There's no chance you've seen sent up a woman No I didn't Is that a violation? Should I should have seen that movie? No that's totally You should not have necessarily seen it Oh yeah this This doesn't pass my
Starting point is 01:02:02 Did it come out before I was born test Correct 92 So two years before I was born You see the Eagles put out a thing Where like they ask the players What year they were born and the old ones get the dinosaur treatment. Is that that that's like a thing?
Starting point is 01:02:13 It's very funny. Yeah, it's funny. But this is not, that's not an original thing, right? No, this is a social media trend. Yeah, okay. Matthew Greenwood. Kai number nine,
Starting point is 01:02:24 K-9 equals dog, call him Steve Smith Jr. I mean, I like where you're going with that. Kai number nine, K-9. K-9? K-9's cool. I like K-9. Yeah, you like all things, dogs.
Starting point is 01:02:39 Yeah, but I also like, um, that's like a soccer. thing too, you know, like your initial with the name, like R9. What's R9? You've never heard of that? Are you serious? Ronaldo, like the original Rinaldo.
Starting point is 01:02:53 Nazario, R9. R9. R9. That's what people call them. No, I've not heard that. Really? CR7? You've heard CR7 before, right?
Starting point is 01:03:00 Yeah. It's just whatever your initials are with the number, if you're, especially if you're like a great striker, it's just like you're R9. Okay. It's like you're so iconic that you know. wouldn't even need your full name. You just call them R9. Cool.
Starting point is 01:03:16 Is it? Is it cool that I have all this knowledge of things that nobody cares about? All right. It's May 4th. We got about two and a half months before training camp starts. What are we going to talk about? We're going to figure it out. Stay with us tomorrow, 2 o'clock.
Starting point is 01:03:44 We keep it going. Enjoy the big games tonight. Don't forget. Watch along for the Flyers. Free and post for both. Looking forward to it. What a great time to be following PHY. For EJ and Lindsay, I'm Bo.
Starting point is 01:03:59 We thank you for watching. We'll talk to you tomorrow. And as always, we love you.
