Hello, everybody, and welcome to the P.H.O.Y. Eagles podcast on a nice fall crisp Tuesday,
live from the Xfinity studio and presented by Toyota, the official automotive partner of the NFL.
I'm Bo Wolf. That's E.J. Smith. We're going to get to a full discussion about the Eagles,
all the injury moving parts that they have. Sean Mannion spoke today, Vic Fangio.
But let's finish this conversation we were having just now. Just about the idea. The idea is,
you know, Lindsay asks, are they going to have an open tryout
because there are so many injuries?
Is this going to be a Vince Popoli situation?
You said Fran might, you know,
you know, you would sign up for Fran and tight end.
I would.
And I'm telling you now, I hope that Fran's okay with this.
Having been in the trenches and played games with Fran,
I would rather have Fran at linebacker than a tight end.
Fran is a better bubble ball defender than offender.
He plays with a fierceness.
and an energy and a nose for the ball on defense
that you don't often see in those settings.
It's a little bit more of a delta,
whereas friends are very capable offensive player,
but he would not have been my number one choice at tight end,
if that makes sense.
Yeah, I hear you, but it's about needs at this point.
And I just watched a lot of Zacherts and Johnny Munt
getting blown up at the line of scrimmaging.
You know who I don't think would get blown up?
I think it would just be a force of will.
Yeah, you know what?
Maybe this is where the Jackson-Hawes thing comes from.
Maybe.
Maybe Fran Duffy looks at Jackson-Hawes and says,
that reminds me of a young Fran Duffy right there.
Okay.
I could get on board with that.
Yeah.
I think, honestly, you know,
I didn't have the heart to ask Sean Mangan about this,
but...
About Fran has a potential replacement of a tight end?
Would you consider Fran Duffy at tight end?
The clips that are everything.
The clips, yeah, you know,
everything's on the table.
The clips of Zacherts and Johnny Munt
in the, like, you know,
getting just blown off the ball every play.
That does not square
with what we heard from Sean Manion all offseason about,
like the one thing he said, like, his teams are going to be
is have like a toughness and a play personality,
you know, an intensity about them.
And I don't think, I'm not questioning those guys intensity,
but, you know, it just, it doesn't mesh with what they want to be offensively.
We're going to talk a lot about that today.
Yeah, I'm not, I, unfortunately, if we start talking about Johnny Muntz,
we're going to pick up our heads and it's going to be 45 minutes later.
I mean, because.
It's, it's not unlike the situation we were,
talking about off camera about Chris Cooper and Jeff Stoutland.
Yeah.
Where when you do this job, you can oftentimes forget that your first instinct is usually
right, or at least is often right.
But then you are in the building every day, talking to people who are giving you the same
message, and you start to think, okay, and you forget a little bit about what your first instinct
was, and you start to move a little bit and you come back.
and my first instinct was, oh, their blocking tight end is the guy who was the third tight end for the Jaguars,
and they let go and then had to use a second round pick to replace as a blocker.
This guy who was 32 years old or whatever, this is the solution.
Surely there's more to come, and nothing comes, nothing comes, and he's not there.
And now we're here, and the offense is relying on the piece of scotch tape on the door,
and it's getting blown off pretty easily.
Yeah, yeah, I mean, it is, it's just been, our conversation earlier, I will say it here too, like, I just feel like I've been gaslit a little bit by the Eagles.
I know that that's a buzzword.
I know some people are tired of hearing the word gaslit, but we spent so much time in the summer hearing from offensive linemen who are like, oh, man, you know, this is just such a relief.
I can't believe other offenses have been doing it that's so simplified.
We're going to be getting off the ball quick.
We're going to be dictating to the defense, all these things.
and now here we are in week five,
and we are hearing a lot of the things we heard last year,
and guess what?
It's not as easy as they made it sound like it was going to be.
We'll get to that later.
Fran is in the chat.
He says he'll take the compliment,
but not thrilled with the not my first choice at Tidenti.
Yeah, now he's getting roasted in the chat by Radfraq.
I laughed out loud at his most recent three cone is probably ice cream.
I mean, yeah, who's running a three cone?
Yeah.
Of course, you're most recent.
Most of our
most recent three cones is probably,
I mean,
I love,
I love throwing friend the ball,
but friend knows,
friend knows I had a number one target.
Who was your number one target?
Duke.
Great catch radius.
Very reliable.
Red zone weapon all the way.
Where's he at now?
You don't know.
Who could say?
Okay.
Sorry.
Didn't mean to put you on the spot.
So,
I mean,
I'll take friend on my team any day.
I need a dog.
Yeah.
I mean, we're not talking about him as a high volume passing option.
We're talking about him in the Johnny Munn roll.
Okay, yeah.
I bet you Fran Duffy would be in that flat.
I bet you Fran Duffy would be in the flat.
He's supposed to be.
Yeah, I think that's right.
All right.
Let's get to what's brewing presented by our friends at Wawa.
Look at that.
It's delicious cookie.
Oh, go Wawa.
You need me to talk for it.
You want my cookie take?
You want to wait a minute.
Here's my chocolate chip cookie take.
The fewer chocolate chips, the better.
Yeah, I'm not.
I don't want to be overwhelmed with chocolate chips.
I want to taste a cookie.
Yeah, you know, I, so shout out to, I mean, they're gone now, so I can give them free
advertising.
You can't even go there.
There was a place called the Happy Baker in Westchester.
Oh, my God, this place is amazing.
And she used to make chippless chocolate chip cookies.
So it's just, it's like a butter cookie is how I describe it.
And they're excellent.
They're awesome.
So, yeah, I'm not opposed to that take.
All right.
What's brewing?
The Eagles, I think, have probably the biggest injury crisis I can remember.
in any of the last five seasons, six seasons.
2020 is the last time where they were decimated by injuries in this way.
So the big one that will, I mean, the big few, I would say.
Saquan Barkley, week to week with a hamstring injury.
Well, hold on.
Let's slow down.
Let's go through his one by one.
Sequin week to week.
That means they're not putting him on IR.
Yes.
But he's holding a roster spot and will be out for probably two or three weeks.
Tank Biggsby likely headed to IR with an abdominal injury.
So that opens up a roster spot in theory.
Yes.
Cam Juergens, self-reported concussion symptoms the day after the game.
I don't think that'll be an IR injury, so he will probably be on the roster, but puts his status
in doubt for this game against the Jack Wars.
Very unlikely.
Especially like he's going to have to get on a plane.
They fly Friday instead of Saturday.
So he's going to have to get on a plane a day earlier.
Yeah, I would say I'd be surprised if he played, especially because he reported late.
You know, like he had symptoms.
He reported late.
It's tough to speculate with the concussion protocol, but I don't expect him to be out there.
Am I missing an injury?
I think those were the three big ones yesterday.
Oh,
Jonathan Gernard is considered day to day.
I did find it interesting.
Vic was less confident about Jonathan Grenard today than he was about Quignan.
He said, like, they're hopeful they'll have Quinyan.
And he said, on Jonathan Grenard, he said, we'll see.
Okay.
You know, subtle difference, but still,
Vic is usually pretty trustworthy with this stuff.
So those are the...
And then the guys who were out last week...
Yeah.
Yeah, Devante.
I don't expect to...
Devonte.
I don't expect to see him back.
should be back.
Yeah, you'd expect.
You would hope that Bond's back.
Dallas Goddard would surprise me.
Correct.
I mean, maybe, but it would surprise me.
Yeah, it is possible, but I wouldn't.
And then we don't know what's going on with Lane.
Correct.
Yeah, so Lane is up in the air.
Right now, if I had to guess what the Eagles starting offensive line is, I wrote it down.
Jordan Milata at left tackle.
Hold on.
Jordan Milata.
You should do British accent today.
I think we got a couple.
We got time for that.
Okay.
Coming down the pike.
I think it'll be Drew Kendall at left guard.
Really?
And I think it'll be Willie Lampkin at center.
Interesting.
I just, I love Willie Lampkin.
I think the best chance of him succeeding is at center.
And it's not like the calls have been great.
So I think it'll be Lampkin at center.
And by the way, this is speculation.
I know I've been accused of insider trading
when talking about offensive line machinations.
We haven't seen practice yet.
Yeah.
Like we have not, I haven't, I haven't even had a chance to talk to players or anything like that yet.
So, um, this is just a guess.
And then seeing it right guard, I don't know what to make of what's going on with Lane.
So I'm, I'm going to say.
Well, it's also an easy if Lane's not there, it's Markle Bell.
It's not like Markle Bell is going to factor in at guard or anything.
Right.
Yeah.
Um, we don't know Fred Johnson's deal.
Yeah.
I mean, he's missed the last two games.
I mean, I don't know why he's not on injured reserve.
Yeah.
Or just not only have a certain amount of return spots.
to dola. I think that's probably why.
I just, he's the fourth
tackle on the roster. I don't
disagree with you, but at the time they
felt like they didn't need those spots.
Yeah, they just haven't cared about roster spots
all these. But I mean,
it's pretty
we'll see if he's healthy this week. It's very weird
to have your fourth tackle on the roster
and miss three games. Yeah.
That's true. Especially like
is the line... What is his injury?
It's a knee injury.
Okay.
Is the line of quality?
Now, I guess maybe you could make an argument it is.
Like, Fred has played a lot of football,
but the drop from Fred to John Ojuquo is the availability loss there worth making up
and having Fred on the roster that whole time.
But if you're worried about, do we need more practice squad promotions than usual?
Yeah.
And we can't afford one for a Jukewu, and we'll have a banged up Fred be a, you know,
a game day emergency.
Yeah.
That's possible.
my instinct was that it would be Lampkin at left guard
and keeping Pendle at center
That's hard for Lampkin, man
I mean he played it in the preseason
But I don't know
We also didn't see him play
I don't know that we saw him play left guard
Yeah, we played right guard in game
Markle Bell
You're right
Yeah
That was my instinct only because
Clearly they put Kendall at center for a reason
I mean they made Cam Juergens
moved to left guard
And that's not an ideal position for him either
Yeah
Because they wanted Kendall at center
Are they going to abandon that now
just because they think Willie can't play guard?
Maybe, I don't know.
Yeah, it's going to be an interesting one.
I made this guess not convicted in it,
but just thinking that it's probably the thing
that makes the most sense.
Is there a scenario
where Willie Lamb can plays well enough
that he doesn't leave the lineup?
There is a scenario, absolutely.
I mean, they are as bullet.
Given how, I mean, given how,
poorest they've been on the offensive line.
I think this is kind of a semi-convenient
soft launch.
Yeah, I mean, I would have said the same thing
about Drew Kendall.
I think they're as bullish on Willie,
or at least almost as bullish on Willie
as they are Drew Kendall.
So yeah, I think if these guys play well,
like, we need to suspend, like,
any prior notion about all the guys
on the offensive line at this point.
The way that they have played this season,
I mean, it's like you can tip your cap
to the players that they were a few years ago, a lot of these guys,
but they have to figure this out at some point.
Like, it's a matter of like,
if those young guys come in and they are starter-level players
and you can get something going with them in the lineup,
yeah, I don't think it's as simple as going like,
oh, well, you know, Cam Jurgens or paying them a lot of money
or Landon Dickerson, we'll get to him in a second.
Like, I think it's just about if you find a five that works,
you have to stick with them.
All right, let's close the book on what's brewing,
and then you can tell me what Landon Dickerson said.
Yeah, this is interesting.
Yesterday evening.
Yeah, so Landon Dickerson
has he does like a radio hit the day after games over on WIP
and he had some comments about Cam Juergens moving over to left guard that they
piqued my interest so here I'm gonna find him here we have a quote graphic for this
Lindsay he said I feel bad for Cam getting put there left guard that's not his
position that he was brought here to play I know he played a little bit of right guard I
think in 2023 I don't think right guard was naturally his position either then he went on
to say Cam is a center I do hate that we made that decision to move him to left
guard because you never want to mess up.
If one person goes down, you don't want to mess up two people just to fix it.
Obviously, I don't have a say when it comes to personnel stuff, but I think it was just a
moment where we don't have the depth that you would ideally like to have across the board.
That was the way to get the best five guys on the field.
Really interesting.
So reading between the lines, and it's not even reading between the lines, just reading what
he said.
Very bluntly, yeah.
In the room, they don't think that Drew Kendall can play guard.
that's what he's saying.
Yeah.
They're not going to have a choice.
Either him or Lampkins is going to have to play a guard this week.
Well, best five could also just mean you think that they're better.
This group was better with Drew Kendall at center.
But yeah, I think, yeah.
But he's saying he would have rather just have messed up one spot.
Yeah.
But they didn't have the depth of a guy who could play guard.
I mean, it's also, you know, listen, he and he and Cam have been teammates for a long time.
Of course he's going to not make excuses, but he's going to be in his,
in his guy's corner.
Yeah.
It's not an indication of a room that is in lockstep with each other.
Yeah, there's a belief question there, for sure.
The other thing I wanted to add, the other like qualifier is if you're Lantin Dickerson,
of course you don't want Cam Juergens to have been moved to left guard for all the
reasons we talked about on the show, which is that is that, you've likely,
make that move with the idea that this is our five moving forward.
Yeah, that's a good point.
Landon Dickerson also said on his show that he is feeling better.
You know, he says that there's a weak minimum that he has to be out, and then he says
it's up to the team.
And I think, like, my eyebrows raise there too.
If Landon Dickerson says he's healthy, do the Eagles bring him back off of IR?
You know, I always got the sense that, like, Landon thought, oh, this is a four-week
thing.
I'll come back, and I'll be fine.
And I kind of think, like, I'm not saying the team's definitive on this, but I kind
I do wonder if the team looks at it like, we tried.
Like we tried to like put you out there.
It was ugly.
And again, the moves that they made on the offensive line, it wouldn't shock me if they don't
have Landon Dickerson as a part of their plans for the rest of the season.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I don't know the answer.
I don't even know what they think internally about that.
Yeah.
It's weird.
But also he's not going to be quiet about it if he thinks he's ready to play.
Right.
Yeah.
Evidence by this quote.
and I don't want to make too big of a deal out of this,
but I do think like when I listen to the quote
and when I, especially when I transcribed it,
I'm like, would he be saying this type of stuff
if Jeff Salon were still in that room?
You know, just like from a respect level,
you know, again, you hate to speculate too much,
but you just, you didn't hear stuff like this in the years prior.
These guys, you know, and again,
it's like they had a really special relationship with Jeff Salton,
so that's part of it.
But he kind of, he questions both the coaching decision
of the offensive line, the lineup,
and also really like the roster construction
and like a sense of like, yeah, you know,
we don't really have the depth
where you would ideally be able to do what you want to.
He's like, I don't know how they could have seen me play last year
and not thought we need a better backup plan.
I mean, it's a fair point.
Yeah, I was talking to somebody earlier today
about how bizarre it was
that they just didn't get Cam Juergens
any reps at left guard in the summer.
It's maybe it's a protecting an ego thing,
but it's like, guess what?
I mean, there, you had to pull that lever.
We are in week four, and there are like 15 examples of,
yeah, what were they thinking?
Why didn't we see any preparation for this in the summer?
Yeah, yeah.
Completely predictable things.
Yeah, it goes back to what I said at the top of the show.
It just feels like we therefore misled on so many things, you know?
Like, everybody's feeling great.
Everybody feels great about the scheme,
under center play action.
Outside zone is going to be the foundation of what we do.
There's so many things.
We're splitting reps into week one at backup quarterback.
Because we feel good about,
both guys. It's just been, it's been a, it's, it was a weird summer. We're fine at tight end.
Yeah. I mean, I need to rethink my, my view of that position. Need to prioritize versatility at
that spot more. It's crazy. It's crazy. So yeah, the landing comments, they raise my eyebrows.
Again, he said he, he's feeling better and he's, you know, he's hopeful to be back. I don't know what
you're, what, I don't know how they move forward with the offensive line. Well, are you more willing to
believe that Landed Dickerson can get back to 80% health and be a functional starting
caliber guard or that Cam Juergens can just develop into like if he's healthy and hasn't
been able to do it yet.
Are you, is it more believable that he will just get better or that Dickerson will get
healthy enough to be better.
Yeah, I don't know.
The tricky thing is,
and this probably goes back to the Kendall at Guard thing,
if Drew Kendall was playing center right now
and you had, well, no, sorry,
this actually works fine, apologies,
you could do it this way.
You could bring Landon back
and look at that left guard spot
and say, whichever one of Landon or Cam
looks the most like their 2024 self
is our starter.
That's if Willie doesn't play like awesome.
Yeah.
And, you know, if you put Willie at Left Guard this week,
maybe that is like where this is headed.
If they put Willie at Left Guard this week,
maybe it's like, you know,
we're going to see what it looks like with him.
But realistically,
we're looking at Landon, Dickerson and Cam Juergens
and we're saying one of those two
were hoping to be able to get to the end of the season
with them kind of doing the best that they can at that spot.
Like, would you rather have Landon coming off of IR at Left Guard
or Cam Jurgens and hope that he settles in?
Or Willie.
If Lyndon looks up,
if Landon looks like he did at the first week of training camp, probably Landon?
Yeah.
But now let me ask another in the weeds question here.
Yeah.
Any chance they flip-flop Steen put Steen at left guard.
They better not, man.
I don't know.
Just because like what, Willie at right guard?
Yeah.
Because him and Markele and Markkella have worked together extensively.
I don't know, man.
That's all.
These guys have talked so much about continuity.
Well, I know, but there's continuity is out the window.
There's there is no continuity.
So there is continuity between Willie and Markell
and Steen has had enough reps over the course of,
like he should be.
Has he played much left?
Easier able to flip?
Yeah, I don't know.
I mean, it's interesting.
Just asking.
Nothing would surprise.
Maybe you, maybe, you know,
you feel like you're protecting Mila that way too.
I don't know.
Francis Markelle Bell for Center.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm also wondering if there's any,
like if they,
they thought Mark Howbell had a horror show last week,
would you kickstein to tackle?
I don't think you did.
It doesn't make any sense this week.
Yeah.
I mean,
the scene moving over to left guard,
if Willie's awesome.
But so you're saying you do that against the Jags.
Yeah.
I don't think I'd do that.
It's just so many moving pieces.
That's more moving pieces than you have to have.
Well, so was Kendall and Juergens in the first place?
Yeah.
I don't disagree.
You asked me what I would do, though.
Nothing would surprise me.
And that shows you like how broken they are.
Nothing would surprise.
Markill Bell at Center would surprise me.
And the last thing I wanted to say about this is like each of the last few drafts,
we've looked up after night one and really after the first two nights and we've gone,
okay, I understand why they didn't prioritize offensive line in this draft.
But you are now seeing the effect that that has after years of now this happening.
You know, going through the drafts, you can feel okay about most of these picks.
like, you know, Jehad Campbell with Josh Simmons on the board is probably the one that if you could go back, maybe you'd revisit that one.
But they wouldn't have.
They wouldn't have. They wouldn't have made the trade. The chiefs won.
Right. Yeah, that's a good point. Yep. Yeah, sorry. I did forget about the fact that like, you know, the chiefs aren't allowing you to go up ahead of you.
But still, the fact that they haven't targeted offensive line, I think you're seeing the cost of that now.
Because, you know, in the past, the Eagles, the Eagles M.O. in these situations is to be able to go, okay,
we've got this high draft pick waiting in the wings that's ready, you know, the Lanton Dickerson's
of the world, you know, where it's like this guy has been behind the scenes.
Cam Juergens was a similar way where it's like we've got this guy who's been working behind
the scenes, he's got a ton of talent and we can slot him in a year earlier than we thought.
They don't have that guy this year.
Now, you know, they've got the developmental guys they feel good about.
But in terms of a guy that you're planning on being a difference making starter on your team,
they don't really have that guy.
And I think that shows up when you look at the last couple drafts.
Super chat on the offensive line questions.
Andrew Nathan says,
how do we feel about Jake Majors potentially getting promoted to the 53?
As a left guard,
he had a good preseason,
even if it's just a depth move.
I think Majors, judging from the summer,
is more center only than either Willie or Kendall.
Yeah, and he's also working.
Yeah.
Yeah, he's, it could be, it could be an elevation.
I think they'll choose between him and Ojuku.
My guess is Ojuquo because he can play more positions.
Yeah.
And as a better player.
Yeah, I like to dooku in the summer.
I mean, I didn't like love him, but I thought he was solid.
But Majors is a possibility.
Yeah.
I think I, maybe I just dislike most interior offensive Wyman.
You know, I felt like I was the one that was hardest on Cam Juergens yesterday.
And now I'm hard on Jake Majors.
It might be mutual.
Richard Fitzwell.
Any insight on the report that Mannion left 10 minutes after
the game ended. Is that normal?
I don't, was that the actual report? Was that he left 10 minutes?
I saw that.
After the game ended? Yeah.
I saw a clip. He left with like Vic. I mean, it was, it was all the coordinators,
I believe. I don't put much stock in that. Okay. Yeah. Do you? I mean, yeah. I wasn't
there to see it. Right. I can't really speak on it. All right. Good lengthy discussion.
Yeah. Let's take a break. We'll come back, talk a little bit about some of the roster math
that needs to happen.
What are they going to do at the other positions on offense?
And tell you what,

What are they going to do at running back wide receiver?
Yeah, it's a good question.
With Bigsby and Sequin both out for this game,
they only have one healthy running back on the active roster.
It's Will Shipley.
So maybe it's your boy
You got David Pierce
You got Carson Steele
And he got Jaden Knobbed
Oh I don't like that at all
Changed his name for this week I believe
I'm not I'm not partaking in this game
Jada knobbed the bull carrier

I'm not doing this game
I'm tempted to but
My mother-in-law watches this show
I'm not I'm not tired
I'm not partaking in this
I think Damien
Knobbed
I think Damian Pierce is going to get called up
from the practice squad
but to your point
he said this before the show
they're gonna they have
they only have so many practice squad
callups they can use
so right
but presumably
what do you think's gonna
well I think Bigsby goes on IR
that opens up a spot
yeah I think they promote Earths
to the active roster
yep he only had one call up left right
only one left yeah
and then I think they
elevate Pierce and Ajuku
and you only have the two running backs
yeah I think you can get away with two running backs
you probably can
who's your emergency running back there
he's Cooper
Jalen Hertz and
Tanner McKee a quarterback
Go back to 2020
You want to really get toxic
If they won't do it
But if they ever line Jalen Hertz up
At running back
I'm going to have to delete
Oh they'll never do it
I'm going to delete social media off my phone
I
So toxic
Yeah I think you can get
Through a game with two running backs
But
I mean it's not great
Otherwise otherwise
Otherwise, you're going to do another roster move.
And you do maybe a juquu to the active roster.
And then you have Jaden Blue and Damien Pierce called up.
Right.
And maybe Blue is taking some of the returning duties away
because Shipley has to play and can't handle them all.
I could see that.
I could see that too.
But then you need a roster spot opened for a jukewu.
And I guess you could put Fred on IR.
It might be too late for that.
you could obviously go down to three quarterbacks.
Whoa.
I mean, let's not get carried away here.
You could potentially move on from Elijah Moore.
You could potentially move on from Johnny Munt.
They're not going to do.
More likely E.J. Jenkins.
Dude, if they got rid of Johnny Munt,
I know he's been struggling.
Like, they literally would be calling Fran and asking him to play tight end.
I think it's, well, not because,
then you guys still got to get through the game.
So you need the three tight ends.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Yeah, it's tricky.
I was like going through it.
It's trick-a-huh.
I,
it's not an inspiring group.
I think the receiving core is good enough.
I've covered Eagles teams
that have worse receiving cores than Tawicks,
Mackay Lemon, and Darius Cooper.
But when you look at what they'll have up front
and then you look at the fact that it's the run game
is going to be relying on Will Shipley and Damien Pierce,
it's not great.
And that's saying nothing about what Fran will break down
tomorrow, which is this Jaguar's
defense is really good. Oh yeah,
sorry Thursday. Next day.
Yeah, tomorrow in terms of our universe.
Yeah. Wednesday doesn't exist in the PHY
Eagles. Yeah, this Jaguar's defense is really good.
Brennan live at noon. Yeah. Spend your lunch with PG.
Does that count as our universe? It should.
And Mina. We're going to have a Mina Kimes,
Vod coming your way tomorrow. Yeah. I think that counts as the greater
PHI universe. I meant the PHI Eagles universe, though.
But Brandon Graham kind of is part of that universe.
I think so. Yeah.
So we got you covered on content.
I got to get that.
As Fran will say on Thursday, this Jaguars defense is very good.
How's my Jaguars pronunciation?
Say it again.
Jaguars.
Correct.
Okay.
I used to be a Jaguars guy.
Yeah, and I would have walked off the set.
I think you were the one that got mad about it.
Really?
Yeah, years ago.
Years ago?
Yeah, I think you might have sent me a clip of me talking on an Inquirer.
Really?
Like an Inquirer broadcast, and I said Jaguars, and you were mad about it.
I don't remember.
that, but it sounds like me.
It does sound like you.
Pedin's Corner over here.
So yeah, I think it's going to be interesting to see what they do.
I do have a big picture thought.
Now that I'm getting way ahead of myself here, but just hear me out.
The way that the offense looks with Jalen Hertz and this supporting cast, is it instructive
on, is it at least a data point in the, is it okay?
Let me, let me restart here.
I'm not doing a good job of framing this.
I sent Fran a voicemail about this.
this morning, by the way.
How Jalen Hertz is able to elevate this group
with the injuries around him,
I think will be an important data point
when the offseason comes around,
and the question is, are you gonna pay Jalen Hertz?
Because I think that this offense,
it's not an ideal set of receiving options,
obviously not an ideal offensive line,
but it is probably closer to what you'd expect it
to look like five years from now
if you have an expensive defense
and a quarterback that's getting top of the market money.
So I think that how Jalen looks in this game is important.
I'm not saying that, oh, if they struggle in this game, you can't pay him.
But I do think that it will be part of the equation.
I think that's a little unfair to Jalen, given the state of the offensive line.
Yeah.
Given the state of the coaching around him, given what's going on on on defense, which is just okay right now.
And also, the idea that you would ever think in the NFL with a five-year timeline.
Well, you're paying a guy.
When you're paying a guy, you have to account for what will it look like if he is the most expensive player on the roster.
Yeah, but five years is so long in the in the future it doesn't even exist.
Let's say three years.
Yeah, maybe.
Because in three years' time, your defense will be probably the most expensive in the NFL.
And if you have a quarterback that's getting 60 million plus, then you will have to live with maybe an undrafted guy at receiver, maybe some day three picks on the offensive line.
I don't think that this group, I think if you're Howard Roseman,
you absolutely want the group to look better around Jalen in a two-year window or a three-year window,
but it's not a guarantee if you're going to be paying all these other guys.
So I'm not saying we need to overreact to it,
but I do think it's an interesting window into like what can Jalen do with this group?
I think if the offensive line were more settled, that would.
If Lane's back, does it make you feel like that's a better argument?
Maybe.
Yeah.
I mean, if Lane's back, you probably look at this and you have a first-round picket receiver.
you have a guy that they traded for in TAYWicks.
It's, you know, they view him as a very good receiver, a good number two in the NFL.
And yeah, if Lane's back, you think you've got two pro bowl to all pro level tackles,
that's enough to be able to, you know, sustain something on offense.
If you have a coordinator who can put him in a good position.
Yeah, but I think right now is very much undecided.
Yeah.
I mean, that's from an outside perspective.
I think that there is still belief in like what Sean Mangon's trying to.
I do.
So I don't know.
I'm not trying to say we need to overreact to it.
But I do think it's an interest.
It'll be an interesting thing to watch.
That's another one where what we thought at first and then got gaslit over for several months,
might have been right.
It took him over a month to hire Sean Mannion.
They interviewed him.
Yeah.
Then they interviewed Declan Doyle and we heard they love Declan Doyle.
And he's cooking.
And he's got the second best success rate in the league with the Ravens offense.
Yeah.
And he didn't want to come here.
And then they signed, and then they got Sean Mania.
It's a thing to remember.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And before anyone rushes to the comments, I did not say if the Eagle struggle against this Jaguar's defense that the Eagle shouldn't pay Jaylor.
That's what I heard.
Because you know somebody will be rushing to the comments as I say this right now.
Or if they hadn't already posted their comment.
So don't do that.
Be nice in there.
I read those.
Take our next break.
While you are waiting for that break, go ahead and put a comment in the video.
Kelly J. He looks good today.
We'll see you in two minutes.
Don't say something mean.
You know that feeling you get the second you walk out the door?
Did I lock it?
Is the dog eating the couch again?
Has my general manager signed Andy Dalton to be my backup quarterback?
Even worse, has he traded for him and given him money to do it?
Or are my kids six videos deep into something they shouldn't be watching?
That's where Xfinity Shield comes.
comes in. Think of it as a force-filled for your home built right into your Wi-Fi,
giving you peace of mind for your home, your family, and your life online.
If you want to block the search, Andy Dalton, you can do that.
With Wi-Fi motion detection, your Xfinity Gateway can sense movement in your home.
No cameras needed, so you can rest easy wherever you are.
And with Xfinity Cybersecure, your devices are protected from threats and risky sites the moment you connect them.
What if your Wi-Fi had peace of mind built in?
Xfinity, imagine that. Restrictions apply, select plans only, Xfinity, internet, and compatible

pests. Am I right? Because right now the pests are out and about, especially ants, spiders, bees,
rodents, and other unwanted visitors looking to find a little way into your home, steal,
a backup quarterback spot and then you'll never be able to get rid of them.

Hater. E.J. Smith. There are some really funny chats. Shout out to everybody in the chat.
Who is that? Is that Radfrak? No, it's not. I can't read that. DM1 is it?
I say I keep saying quarterback when I talk about Jail. I'm not, I'll never be that guy. I'll never
be that guy. You were the one that said
that Jaylen should play running back with
Denver Keyet quarterback.
Just a really, really terrible Jalen Hart's
discourse today. I dare you.
Okay. What did
Sean Manion have to say today? Talk to the coordinators.
He had to say a lot of things.
I thought what he said
about the identity.
I know that that's an overuse word. It's kind of
been a buzzword across the organization.
Who am? I thought
what he said about the identity of the offense
was very interesting today.
Like a full Sean Mannion Memento send up.
He's got tattoos on his body that say,
needle blocking tight end,
under center play action,
all this stuff.
I mean,
I don't know,
maybe he's looking in the mirror like Jalen Hertz asked him to.
So,
who's your daddy and what does he do?
I don't think Jalen wanted to know who his daddy was.
That might have been a question that you asked.
But not Jalen.
Anyway, so Sean Mannion on the lack of undercenter and play action in the offense.
Obviously, the Eagles, they're like toward the bottom of the NFL in usage.
And if they're not at the bottom of the NFL and usage, they're at the bottom in efficiency.
He was asked a question that was posed on whether or not Jalen was capable of doing those things,
and he pushed back on an idea.
And the part of the quote that I found very interesting here is he says,
each week you're attacking a different opponent.
Polograph.
Sometimes that calls on a different strategy in terms of how you're going.
to align your formations, the layering of plays that you have up in the plan.
He absolutely can do it.
We believe in it.
Some things you're referring to are more week to week, how we attack a specific opponent
and how we build a plan off that.
So everything layers off another.
I sent this to Fran because I knew Fran would hate that.
And listen, he's on the podium.
He only has so many things he can say.
It is a tough situation.
And man, like deja vu, because I said the same thing about Kevin Petullo
during a lot of Loopy Tuesday shows last year.
an unenviable situation he finds himself in trying to explain some of this stuff.
But I do think his answer, taking it for what it is, saying like week to week, we are kind of
just doing what we think is best against that defense, there's a dissonance there.
If this is who you are, if you are the guy that, you know, I reported this at the beginning
of the season that walked in front of the offense in your first install meeting and said,
outside zone is going to be the foundation of everything that we do, then how is it that we are
four weeks into the season. We've seen you play against four very different defenses. It's not all
these defenses have been the same that you're like, well, we couldn't really get to that stuff
that we, that is our identity, the stuff that we believe in because they did something to take us
out of it. You know, goes back to what you said at the top of the show. Oh, we're going to dictate
to the defense more. We'd spent too much time trying to get the perfect play. It just to me,
there's, again, there's a dissonance there that's hard to square. I totally agree. It's maddening.
Yeah.
Now, as you said,
maybe this is just his way of explaining it away,
but it's always, it seems so passive.
Yeah.
Go out, give me your dune.
What do we do?
What do we do?
Do what you do.
Yeah.
Every week.
It's like this.
I don't, it's obviously the truth is somewhere else
because it's, I just don't believe that.
Yes, but it's really, really frustrating for Eagles fans, I think.
I mean, I went and looked at it before the show.
The 49ers didn't have any trouble running an under center play action, heavy offense
against this Rams defense.
Now, the Eagles did run a decent amount of play action against the Rams relative to other teams.
Like, you know, they...
More cookie.
But under center, that wasn't a thing that they did, and it's something that the 49...
I'm the only one not eating a cookie.
49ers were under center almost 60% of the time.
The Eagles were under center half that.
So I think it shows you that again,
some of these offenses, it doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter who they're playing.
They are going to be who they are.
And this is now another thing where it's like,
why are we talking about this three years,
four years running,
where it feels like the Eagles are constantly morphing who they are.
The only exception was the end of the 2024 season,
where it's like, we're just going to beat you up up front
and Seekoine Barkley's going to get ahead of steam
and he's going to make a safety miss.
And it doesn't matter what you do.
You can load the box.
You can have a lighter box.
It doesn't matter.
We are who we are.
They haven't been able to do that.
And I think it is like an oversimplification sometimes.
If you're great, if you're a really good offense, you know, your identity is just
being a really good offense.
But I don't know.
It is hard.
It was surprising to me that Sean Mannion came up today and said, like, we still really
believe in this.
We have conviction in being an under center team, a play action team, an outside zone team,
because we just, the evidence has not shown that at all.
Yeah, they're at the bottom of all of those things.
That's who they think they are.
Then what are they doing?
Yeah.
So what do you think?
Could it be as easy?
Could it be as simple as like the order of operations in the game planning week?
Like under Nick Siriani, they begin with, okay, what does the defense do?
And now let's figure out what we can do against it as opposed to this is what we want to do.
And then I don't know.
I have no idea.
It doesn't make any sense.
Which is funny because like we, our jobs are to figure out what's going on, why it's happening.
And this is one.
It's a total head scratcher for me.
I don't have a good answer for why this is a persistent thing.
And people will, I'm sure there will be people in the chat, people who comment, EJ, it's
obviously Nick, EJ, it's obviously Jalen, EJ, it's obviously this, it's obviously that.
I don't think it's quite a simple.
Yes, you look very good today.
Yes, exactly.
Yeah.
I don't know exactly what it is, but it is confounding that, again, I don't want to like
overweight the things that he says on the podium because, again, it's hard.
But I don't know.
Like, this is who we are.
this is what we believe in,
like your actions completely go against that.
Yeah.
It's hard to swear those two things.
Well, they've got to stay on schedule.
If they could just stay on schedule,
the whole thing would be different.
The stay on schedule stuff is killing me.
De Niz made a good point about that.
It's like they spend time on the third down plan.
They want to get to it.
I don't know.
Good thing they got to it.
Over 12.
This offense is not great.
And they, I mean, you know, they almost won the game against the Rams.
They were two yards away from one in that game,
mostly because of the defense, setting them up with short fields.
I think that my overarching concern is that I don't know what they,
I don't know if they will ever figure it out on early downs,
and that that just is going to make them an incredibly volatile offense
where they're going to have some really, really ugly games.
Sounds exciting.
I mean, maybe Willie Lampkin will fix it.
Honestly?
He might.
You're buying it.
You're buying the Willie Lampkin.
You want to talk about the vibes on this team being sour.
And, you know, you got the offensive line talking across the coaches and the general manager on the radio show.
And, you know, who knows how bad this is going to get?
I'll tell you who's going to change those vibes.
We willie.
We willie.
The machete of meatballs or the meatball of machetes.
Meatball of machetes.
Meatball of machete.
No, that's not it.
The meatball of machetes
Meatball of machetes
Yeah, that's it
Yeah
Because you can't be a shetty of meatballs
What does that even mean?
Lindsay just
Shub such a big piece of cooking in her mouth
Meadball machetes
Lindsay's efficiency rating today is like through the root
Crushing that today
Okay, anything else from Mannion
Um, no, not really.
From the game to clean up, you know.
Said it was an exchange issue on the third and two.
Yeah.
Has been a third and one where they go wide and run behind Zacherts.
He said they liked that call.
Yep, he liked the call.
Yeah, not much else.
Yeah.
They didn't change a game plan with Markell Bellin for Lane Johnson.
Maybe they should have.
Maybe they, maybe, I mean, again, maybe you don't acknowledge it.
Yeah.
He's not going to publicly say that, obviously.
I don't know, man.
It is sad how quickly we got back to like this Tuesday show
where I'm going to tell you what the offensive coordinator said
and be like, I don't envy the spot these in.
And, you know, it's tough.
Deja vu.
All right, we also talk to Vic Fangio and Michael Clay.
We'll tell you about that after this.
And also talk a little bit about the Eagles' travel plans.
Or foggy London Town.

Back on the page of YGO's podcast, Bo and E.J.
Adam in the chat says, love the show, guys.
need any tips for London.
Looking forward to seeing
back in England. Yes, here's the deal.
Cous and I
will both be in London
this weekend. We are going to
I believe join an event
Saturday
at the Passiunk
Square
location
in Waterloo. In Waterloo. The Waterloo
on 12 to 4 on
Saturday. Cousin I will be there.
So if you are in town,
Drop us a line.
Come say hi.
And, yes, if you are, if you are a London person, put it in the comments.
Tell me, tell me your rec.
Give me, give me two recommendations.
Why just two?
I'm not going to read through.
If everybody gives me 10 recommendations, everything's going to get lost.
Give me your, whittle it down.
Give me your two best recommendations.
You know, one or two things I'd like to do well in there.
But I got a little bit of, a little bit of time.
Are you going to go, this isn't like, oh, it's a hidden.
Are you going to go to the borough market?
I did.
I went last time.
Yeah.
So if I happen upon it, I'd be happy to, but I'm not going to go out of my way just because
I have done it before.
I do love the borough market, though.
I'm excited to see your guys coverage out there.
I'm a little bit, just like a little bit like full mode out about this.
Obviously, like, you know, being on Baby Watch is an amazing thing.
I was a bit of a pregnant wife.
I know.
I texted Julia like a week ago at this point, actually.
I said it's crazy that the greatest day of our life is just like.
one of the next 14 days now, hopefully.
So, yeah, then it's every day after that.
Um, no, I don't know about that.
Is it?
I mean, you guys are baby-mogging me.
You guys each have multiples, but, you know, I'm new to this, this whole parenting thing.
Every day is better than the last.
No, that literally can't be true.
That sounds like something Zach would say.
Who?
Every day is better than the last.
Well, you got, that's life.
You know, it's like a joy and pain.
Joy, happy feelings, all these songs, you know.
Rain.
You got to go through the bad and the good.
Sunshine.
Rain.
Yeah.
I don't think I can, sorry, go ahead.
Go ahead.
No, I don't think.
No, share with the class.
I don't think I can read this text from my pregnant life.
But, you know, I get the text.
I got to make sure I got to see that, make sure everything's fine.
I'm not sharing it.
I don't know if she'd want me to.
I'll ask her.
How about this?
Idaho, Alaska.
I'll ask.
I'll check back.
Okay.
I'll have the rest of my life with that kid.
Shout out to Neffa in the chat.
That's funny.
Get the rest of my life with that kid.
Miss London.
I bet, you know, this will be an interesting test of the Eagles fan takeover.
Because, you know, the Jaguars play there a lot.
I would imagine it's going to be,
I would imagine it's going to be
50, 20,
Eagles, Jaguars fans.
50, 20, and then 30,
like, just...
Unaffiliated.
Unaffiliated, wearing soccer jerseys.
Yeah.
They'll wear NFL jerseys, yeah.
I mean, no shade.
I literally do that when I go to, like,
when I saw it, when we went to the Ivory Coast
Curisau game,
so we're gonna fill a kit.
I don't care.
Like, what's somebody gonna be like,
those aren't the teams that are playing.
Who cares?
Just there for the vibes.
Okay.
Did you get a response?
I did.
She texted me to say,
this baby is getting too big
to be rolling
and kicking the way that they are.
So I think she's ready.
I think she's tired of them.
Tired of this.
Doesn't seem that.
Boister's child.
I mean, you know,
I don't want to insult my unborn child
for being big.
I mean, not with Eli Stowers
catching balls from the jugs machine.
Exactly.
Got to protect myself.
Victor Fangio
Victor Fangio
I thought
maybe not quite
as newsy a press conference from Vic
as usual
It's a little short
We mentioned the hopeful for Quinion
Less Committal with Grenard
The thing that I thought was very telling from Vic
Is someone asked him about
The 77 plays that the defense played
And he goes
It's actually 83
You know
The penalties that are negated by penalties
They count
You know, that's part of your conditioning too.
And then he was asked if that had an effect on the defense.
And usually when Vic has asked these things, and again, he was asked that a lot last year.
Yeah.
This isn't the first time that Vic has, you know, had to answer about the level of, the number of plays that the Eagles defense has been out there for because of the three announced from the offense.
Vic usually just, you know, snuffs it out totally.
Doesn't give it any oxygen.
Today, he said, I'm not going to insult your intelligence.
like, of course that has an impact.
You know, it is a factor.
He said that they have to finish.
I think everybody on defense agrees,
but I found it interesting
that he was at least willing to acknowledge,
like, yeah, if you're out there a lot,
if you're constantly on the field,
constantly back on the field after three an ounce.
With a bunch of backups.
Yeah, against a really good offense,
they're going to figure something out eventually.
Yeah.
I appreciated the honesty.
On Jordan Davis, not playing very much against the Rams,
he said that they need to get them on the field more.
And on the death,
for the defense as they go through injuries.
He said, there are a few spots that he feels good about
and a few where he's crossing his fingers.
Follow-up question, which spots are those?
He says, you guys can guess.
I'm guessing safety and edge rusher are probably the two.
I actually think Jonathan Jones, like,
fine, you know, a Dory Jackson level.
Just totally cramulent.
Yeah, but, I mean...
We disagree on the penalty.
I don't know how you could disagree with that
it's very clearly a penalty
This might be a concussion
It's not even close
My concussion uncle take is that I don't think you need to
Just allow a player to run out of bounds
He was already out of bounds
It's bang bang, I don't mind
No, it wasn't bang bang
He was out of bounds
I call it
He might as well, I mean
That was like a Taylor Mays level
I don't like the way that the sideline is officiated
Now I don't like
This was not like the
Jaylen Hertz thing from the week before.
He was not like running out of bounds and just about to get out of bounds.
He was in the air flying out of bounds already.
Yeah, but he wasn't out of bounds.
He was.
He wasn't out of bounds.
I mean, that is day one stuff.
You cannot be a veteran who is on the team to know and be reliable in every kind of
situation and make that play.
It's ridiculous.
It's not dissimilar to the Andy Dalton interception.
What are you here for if that's the play you're going to make?
I just, I don't think it was as egregious as you did.
for the record the Jalen one I think the severity of the hit makes it a penalty if but I also don't
think Jonathan Jones would like let with the guy who's shoulder into the guy's head as the guy
because he was airborne no I don't think that that one was as bad this is outrageous
I'm fine with it I see Fran saying that they protected Jonathan Jones I'm not saying that
they don't need to like augment the coverages when he's out there but I think he's okay I don't
I think it's a moot point, though.
I think Quinyan'll play.
So, okay.
Yeah, I think safety is,
safety and eddresher are the spots I think he's talking about.
I don't think you's talking about outside corner.
Okay.
Got some notes from Michael Clay for you.
In a good line, Michael Clay.
You probably wrote it down.
Everybody's got problems.
I don't care about all problems.
That wasn't the line I thought you were going to say.
Everybody's got problems.
Not like that.
He said that,
personal, professional.
Jackson doesn't care about our problems.
Yeah.
That's actually a good, like, life lesson.
Yeah.
You know?
I have a more callous way of talking about that in my household.
People don't give an F about what's going on with you.
They just care how you affect them.
That's not to say, like, you know, there's not nice people in the world,
but in terms of, like, your responsibilities, your accountability, people don't care.
Did you do the thing you were supposed to or not?
Little callous.
I said it was callous.
I care.
I know you care.
I'm not saying you don't care.
I'm saying in general.
I think it's mostly just about accountability.
If you say you're going to do something, you got to do it.
People don't care if you have an excuse for it.
Yeah, I agree with that.
Yeah.
Now, they might care about what's going on in your life.
They might care about you as a person, but yeah, if you say you doing something,
you got to do it.
If you say you're going to be at Vic Fangio on time, you got to be at Vic Fangio on time.
That's about me for the record.
Hold on, though.
Just say it.
You backed yourself into the corner.
Well, there are lots of mitigating circumstances.
How do you square that with Lane Johnson on Sunday morning saying he's not going to play in the game?
Sorry, I saw France chat and got sidetracked.
Don't tell me about the pain and show me the baby.
I can't say something like that in my house right now.
How do you square that with Lane Johnson?
Well, I mean, that is something, you know.
That's kind of what we were talking about.
You have to be sympathetic to Lane, but there will be people in that locker room that go,
you were supposed to be at right tackle today
and you weren't available.
At some point it is like about the bottom line.
I think it's more about just accountability.
Not speaking about Lane just in my life.
I understand.
Yeah.
So, and I'm not, that's not to say I'm perfect.
Again, didn't make it to Vic on time.
He gets there early.
But again, got to get there.
You know, that's the whole point.
Is if Vic's there early, you have to be there early.
These are the principles that Baby Smith.
They're going to be privileged to learn
for me, probably in a nicer way that I'm spelling them out right now.
Michael Clay also said that he's never seen a punter, punt more than Braden Man does.
Yeah, that was interesting.
During practice, it's an important thing to say there.
During the week and leading up, he was when he met.
It would have been a very funny thing.
He was like, man, that guy, he'd be putting now.
B.B.P.
Braden B. Putton.
natural follow-up, how many times does he punt in a week?
And he said, brother, that number is infinite.
He said, I gave up counting that probably four weeks into his tenure.
Yeah.
He said on the field that he hasn't, like, studied Tottenham Hotspur Stadium specifically,
but that soccer fans have like a cover for the fans,
but they're always open air.
So that covers up some of the air or some of the wind.
But yeah, it's interesting.
Oh, we didn't talk about, um,
The Eagles travel plans.
They're flying out.
Well, we can do that.
We can tell you.
In about the Eagles travel plan in a few seconds.
We'll do it.
In accountability time.
I knew you were going to do it.
I knew you were going to say that.
Um, yeah.
Say what you will about breadman.
He'd be punting.
He'd be punting now.
Honestly, he might be toward the top of the NFL and punts.
I can look that up.
Women do you know.
I don't like that.
I don't like that expression.
Is it a nutty professor?
Is that,
is that misogynistic?
Braden Mann is tied for third most punts in the NFL.
I'm in Tressway, tied for third.
Tommy Townsend.
That's pretty good.
And Blake Gilliken.
Blake Gilliken from the Cardinals are ahead of him.
They call him the Pelican.
Do that?
I don't know.
They should?
They do now.
They do now.
The Eagles are flying out to London Friday evening.
They will practice on Friday at the Jefferson Health Complex
and then they will fly out.
So that means they're taking a red eye?
I mean, yeah, they practice at like 1 o'clock that day.
They're doing availability at normal time, right?
So maybe they're, I guess it's a,
they take off at 5?
They'll get there by, yeah, they'll get there at like 3 a.m.
London time.
Yeah.
It's a little bit interesting.
It is different.
I believe.
It's different.
In 2018,
they went out on Tuesday or Wednesday,
right?
But then they had the buy on the back end.
Right.
So my read on this is the reason
they're doing this is less about Sunday
and more about the following Sunday.
Yes.
I think it is maybe you don't want to say
they're punting on the game
because listen,
teams do this and they play fine.
They play well.
They win the game.
So yeah,
I think it is about managing
on the other.
side of the game.
Yeah, they don't want to fully acclimate because then they would have to reacclimate.
Yep.
I think the Jags go out a day earlier.
So it's not too dissimilar.
But yeah, the Jags also, they have done this a lot.
So their players are probably a little bit more used to it.
Yeah, it's an interesting move.
It is, it's funny, just the way that things are around the Eagles right now, everyone just assumes
that they made a mistake.
They just are like, oh, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
I wonder if they ask Johnny Munt.
Yeah.
honestly they should have they should use them as a resource
I mean he was only in Jacksonville for what a year though
yeah but what a year it was
was it
yeah he was only there for one season
just imagining
the idea do you remember the stories of
how Lashon McCoy at Pitt
I think these were apocryphal but when he would
juke somebody he would go
McCoy
McCoy I like the idea of
every time Johnny Munts lined up
every time he's trying to
to lay a block.
He's munt.
Munt.
Munt.
The way your mind works.
Right now it's not working.
You're going to say something else.
He's not doing a lot of mutton.
Maybe you should say like, I don't know.
I'm trying to think, well, you should say,
McCain, Kincade.
Cahe.
Hawes.
Yeah.
Haas is really the answer.
Keith.
Not Cade.
Yeah.
Yeah, we'll see how it works for him.
It'll be interesting, though.
I'm excited to see your reports from...
Porkature.
Yeah.
Well, don't say him either.
That's his replacement.
I'll be interested to see what you think of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
I hear great things about that stadium.
Yeah, I heard good things.
I hear that the Tottenham, why I know the Tottenham never win there.
So it's kind of like a curse stadium from their standpoint.
But yeah, it's a cool stadium.
The turf will be interesting in that game, too, because it is a soccer pitch.
Same way that in Brazil, it was soccer pitch.
What's Austin?
What's that?
What's all this sin?
Oh, what's old is it?
It'll be more slick, more shallow, like, you know, root structure.
This is the thing.
I mean, I remember it from Brazil.
The pitch is set up.
Honestly, it's set up to make the ball move quickly and that if you slide on it, you slide a long distance,
which is obviously not ideal for an NFL game.
So it'll be an adjustment.
You said shallow.
That's why I reacted.
Oh, I thought you were just impressed with my grass knowledge.
Harmonians.
I got to cut my grass today.
Is that a, yeah.
Euphemism for something.
No, I do need a haircut too, though.
Got a lot of things to take care of.
What's on a do-list?
Pretty baby.
I do have a list of things I need to accomplish before the baby.
You got your go bag packed?
I do.
I just packed it last week.
I actually was getting flack from a couple of my colleagues about the fact I didn't have it packed.
What do you got in there?
Comfortable clothes.
Food for Julia.
clothes for you or also Julia?
Well, I packed my own clothes.
Julia packed her clothes and Julia, shout out to Julia.
She's amazing, man.
You packed yours too?
She's amazing.
No, she didn't pack my.
I pack a mean bag.
That's one thing about me.
I can pack a bag.
She packed the babies.
A bag.
I get to see coming.
Yeah, honestly, because I stuff the bag like full.
Packed to the gills.
We honestly did a lot of stuff.
I got to get the car seat inspected.
I got to do that.
I got to get Julia a new pillow because she stole my
pillow. Are you going to the fire department to get the car seat check? I think so. Did you do that
bow? Yeah, I think so. We just put it in. We're like, this is good. It's probably fine.
Well, they checked it at our hospital. Like, before you leave, they could check it. So we did that.
I got to get my car inspected and registered. I shouldn't have said this on the show.
Now they thought they're going to come after me. And I have mass declutter question mark.
It's a last thing. Okay. I mean, you know, get rid of stuff we don't need. Do you have like a heating pad?
Oh, yeah, we don't want to us.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I remember when our first child was born,
they told us to go with like a big tube sock with uncooked rice.
And then you could and then you could microwave that.
And it would be a good heating bed.
But then in between the first child and the second child,
they'd come up with better technology.
I mean, yeah, Julia's got a heat.
You need to do a.
She's currently using it, though.
But she will bring it, bring in a speaker, an oscillating fan.
I think they'll have ice chips there.
Speaker, what are you going to be blasting?
Like a birth playlist, I guess.
Oh, well, tell me more.
I didn't make it, so I can't tell you anything about it.
So you made it?
I don't know if it's been made yet.
Oh, okay.
So it's still on the do list.
I'll give you one guess, what was on mine.
Taylor Swift.
Like red?
Just nonstop.
Yeah, it's just whatever, Taylor Swift.
Okay.
I feel like red would be a good album.
Just during, like, the fun part.
Not like all day.
packed my iPad
I got Julia
watching Succession right now
Julia would just hold off
Yeah
Villas playing
We'll see
I got Julia watching
Succession finally
Yeah
Years trying to get her to watch
this show
Yeah
And she's finally like
All right fine
It's such a good show
Is she think so
I think she's on the fence right now
I can tell
I'm like hey
Do you want to watch an episode
of Succession
And she's like
Yeah okay
I think fine
It's not like
Oh yeah
Like let's watch the next one
Yeah
But I'm hoping she catches onto it.
Do you watch lanterns?
No, my friend.
Shout out to Dan.
He's so mad at me for not watching it.
It's downloaded on the iPad, actually,
because I'm going to watch it when we're there.
Oh.
Yeah, I feel like Land.
I feel like you would like that.
Yeah.
I like the Marvel stuff.
By the way, I need to ask...
It's D.C. man.
Oh.
I like comic bookie stuff in January.
I got to...
Speaking of Marvel, though, I got to ask...
This is probably common knowledge,
and I'm showing that I haven't done my research on this.
is Tyrese's daughter Marvel or Marvell?
Do we know the answer to that?
I don't know the answer to six years, guys.
Open the window, open the door.
I don't know.
They're on.
They go on a three.
I don't want to yell that.
I'll just ask him next time I see him.
Or somebody in the chat probably knows.
We're not coming off the show until we get an answer.
So who are you going to text?
Devon.
Call them live.
Call what and we'll both be on each other shows.
Do we try that?
No, because how does E.J. not know that?
They're in their eight block.
You know.
You can't be right.
Oh, come on, boo.
I'm telling him, Lindsay told me to do it.
You're calling Devon?
Yeah, he said Lindsay told him to do it.
He's not going to pick up.
He's a professional.
He's going to have his phone on, do not disturb.
Unlike me.
Didn't hear?
He's not going to pick up.
The person you were trying to reach out.
Shout out to Devon.
See, they don't partake in that kind of nonsense.
He said, well, he texted, what's up?
What did he say?
He said it once.
Lindsay made me call
What I say
Somebody says Marvell
And then somebody else says Marvel like the comics
I think it might be Marvell
I got a cousin named Marvell
Shout out Marvell
Send them a super chat
That would be nicer than
Oh that's a good idea
In the middle of their A block
They're talking about Jalen Brown being elite
Big preseason performance
All right
Are we waiting or are you gonna
We gotta wait for response
Yeah.
I told Bree to tell him to call you.
No.
Let them do.
Look at it.
I can see Devon on the show right now.
Devon's got a nice outfit on today.
He's texting.
He says it's like the comics.
It's like the comics.
Marvel.
Okay.
Yeah.
See, we got to the bottom of it.
Shout out to Devon.
Devon adds.
He's a huge Marvel guy.
Huge Marvel guy.
Big enough to name his daughter Marvel.
Wow.
Shout to Tyrese.
Big year in comic.
What did you say back?
said you're the best.
He is the best.
Shout out to Devon.
He's a foxhole guy, Devon.
All right, let's draft.
Foxhole guys?
Let's draft the office right now.
No, that's too mean.
That is way too mean.
But Devon's my first pick.
That's what I'm saying.
Yep.
You're going to say Fran, aren't you?
You can't say Fran.
Fran's off the board.
I got Fran.
You can't say Fran.
You can't say Lynn.
I mean, I can't.
I mean, it's just.
I got the turn.
I got Fran and Lindsay.
He says, what's going on, guys.
CDP, is there any hope is how he washed?
I don't think how he's washed, but it was not a good offseason.
He always talks about the team.
I don't know if he's washed, but right now the offseason smells like it wasn't.
It wasn't.
The offseason smells a little overcooked, as the kids would say.
Yeah, it wasn't a good off season.
I think he'll, I think the next time we hear from him, which probably, I mean, if we're lucky,
it'll be a trade deadline, but yeah, we'll probably not hear from him.
You might hear from that the trade deadline.
Depends on what they do.
If they do something.
But yeah, I think the next time we hear from him,
he will be the first to say that it was not a good offseason.
Just want to keep hanging.
Wait, in the off season, we should, like,
be on each other's shows, like on Zoom at the same time.
Oh, I like that.
Yeah, I like that a lot.
It's like an off season.
Because otherwise, it's literally a swap.
We've sort of done like the rotating chairs,
but I like the idea of just, yeah.
Crossover show.
That's whatever we keep saying.
Would that work?
Can you do two zooms?
It would be the same one
because she can log in
to the call as well.
That's a great idea.
Is there another super chat?
Coricito.
Shout out, Corey.
Corey's my guy.
Did anyone else think Lampkin
was going to get a goal line handoff?
You also have a pro rugby player
with zero career touches.
Yeah, I mean, you can get the ball
on my lot of his hands at some point, right?
Be a fun thing.
You should have.
ask him.
I was really disappointed personally from like a storytelling standpoint that the Eagles didn't
win. Usually I don't have a rooting interest, but I had a great anecdote from Milata about like
Nick Siriani that would have been really great had they won and then they just flushed it down
the drain. Can you tell us the anecdote? No, because I want to save it in case I, you know, in case I ever
can use it. All right. It's good though. Good storytelling.
From him, not me.
If I want to get myself in the mood for London,
is there a good London movie?
Slow horses.
It's a TV show.
I know, but I know slow horses.
Yeah.
Slow horses, man.
Oh, new episode tonight.
I'm excited about that.
I got so much to do.
I'm going to cut my grass.
I'm going to...
I don't know why you guys are so weird about that.
It's not like I'm like, oh, I'm going to trim the hedges or something like that.
It's just like the possibility that it could mean something else.
It's Wednesday.
It's Tuesday.
You know what that means for E.J.?
How to cut the graph.
Cut the graph.
See you next Tuesday.
Yeah.
There you go.
All right.
I guess that's all we got.
That was hoping we could hang for a little longer.
But, you know, that's fine.
No, you got stuff to do.
It's okay.
It's okay.
Get along.
You get a long to do list.
Declutter question mark.
You got a, you were about to get some international.
travel. Like you're about to leave the country.
Oh, here's stuff to do. Here's a little something for you.
What's that? Shout out to the good people at the, uh, the passport office, like the federal
passport office on 9th and market where you can get the, you get the two-week turnaround.
I went in there because mine had expired. One of the most pleasant experiences. Yeah.
I've had recently. That's like the upset. There's one of like, it's one of like 10 in the entire
country.
I was just very fortunate to have one in Philly.
But everybody in there was so lovely.
What a joy.
You know, maybe the fact that there's only like 10 in the country shows you like quality
over quantity, maybe.
I feel like there's a couple of those.
I can't think of what it is now, but there's something else that's like you can really only
find it in Philly and it's awesome.
Second swing.
Well, you can't only find this in Philly.
You can only find this iteration in Philly, but there are other.
there are other ones
this is the only PHLI
Okay
if you say so
It's the only PHY I care about
That's good sure
I may have asked the Sixers
audience for help here
Did I ever tell you guys about how
My husband didn't have his passport
Like it was expired
For our honeymoon
Until we did this like
You know quick turnaround
Literally at our wedding
Because we weren't leaving for the honeymoon
Until a few days later
At our wedding
People are like, where are you going on your honeymoon?
I'm going.
I don't know if he's going because we don't have a passport yet, but it did come in time.
There you go.
Do all of your pastoral photos?
Maybe I'll watch my favorite about time.
Yeah.
My license photo and my passport photo, no one needs to see.
I always feel like whenever I see my passport photo, I don't know what it is.
I just always like envision it in like the campaign mode of a call of duty.
Like it just looks like I'm one of the suspects or something.
He just looked pretty suss to me
Wow
When you're when you're mowing your lawn
You just make sure you clean up your mess
Yeah I don't know why your mind went there
I mean not alone
Mowing the lawn
She said that she had the same thought
Is that only because you even a lock like
Mowing the lawn
Didn't have no idea
I don't I and for the record
I mulch the clippings
So
I don't clean up.
Gross.
Like I said, the way your mind works.
All right, we got to.
We got to a nice loopy Tuesday eventually.
I don't even know if I should say anything to that.
Like, I guess I, I mean, I don't know if I agree or disagree.
All right.
We will be back.
tomorrow at noon
or unblocked
with Brandon Graham
stay tuned to your feeds
later in the afternoon
we'll have our interview with
the great Mina Kimes
and then on Thursday
2 o'clock
E.J. and Fran
I'm gonna
zoom in for swooper bin.
Should be a lot of fun.
And boy are your legs gonna be tired.
Boy will my
telescope be worn out.
Yeah.
That is way more inappropriate than...
Oh, it's not.
Oh, the grass.
Your telescope is worn out.
Yeah.
How about a little thank you for doing that for you?
I already said that.
I literally said thank you.
Not publicly.
Yeah, that was kind of the point.
Not publicly.
All right.
Good stuff.
We'll see you Wednesday and Thursday.
and Friday too and Saturday as well
and also Sunday for all of us here at PHOI
thank you for watching and listening
let us know in the comments
your two London suggestions
and as always we love you
