Hello everybody and welcome to the P-H-L-Y Eagles podcast.
I'm a beautiful little overcast, a little humid Friday,
live from the Xfinity Lounge and presented by Ashley.
It's Bo Wolf. It's Fran Duffy. It's E.J. Smith.
We got a little three-way going on. Nice to see you guys.
It's a three-hander.
When is the last time all three of us have been in studio together?
It's been a long time.
Yeah, like right after the draft, maybe?
Yeah, probably the week after the draft.
There have been some times where I've been in the waiting room,
waiting for to be added to the show and listening to Fran,
make fun of my takes, you know, which feels a little unfair.
It feels a little unfair, undeserved, I would say.
But yeah, it's good to have the group back together.
Yes.
Boy, do we have a fun show.
Sure do.
Today.
The, we hardly flew the draft.
I thought of it during the intro.
Here we go.
You know, just something I cooked up in the 30 seconds.
We hardly flew thee.
Talking about, you know, it's not quite a haul of very good,
but the idea here is we're going to highlight and focus on some players
who were really good in a short period of time for the Eagles.
Not great in a short period of time.
Because we'll get to the qualifications.
And the grammar.
Upstead qualification.
Okay.
Here's the deal.
I'm going to give you the categories first,
and then I will tell you the restrictions.
And after I've done all that,
you might want to pause the episode,
put your own big board together, and then rejoin us.
Oh, that's a good idea.
That's a fun exercise.
Now, we have three spots for any skill position player,
running back slash wide receiver slash tight end.
Three spots for those.
Two spots for offensive line
and one spot for any other offensive player.
Two spots for defensive line.
one spot for linebacker, two spots for defensive back,
one spot for a defensive wildcard, any defensive player,
two more spots, one spot for a special teams player,
and one spot for a player who never started a game for the Eagles.
Here are the restrictions.
Number one, the players involved cannot have ever with the Eagles made a Pro Bowl
or an all pro or any kind of award like that.
And two, they cannot have been with the Eagles longer than three seasons.
And that's going to apply to players on the current roster, EJ, if this year would count for their fourth year.
We'll see.
I honestly, I don't think anybody on the current roster should be eligible, period.
There's a couple.
There's a couple players that I'm going to.
I'm just saying I don't think that they should be, but, you know.
Let's just get this out of the way now.
This game is really set up for me to just fail miserably.
As is most games, I would say.
Yes, that is, you know what?
I actually don't have a debate,
although I was leading you in Swoop for a little while there, if you remember.
So there may be some times where I misstep,
I call out a name that doesn't fit the criteria.
I maybe started this exercise and forgot that they had to play three or fewer seasons.
So for that reason, we'll see what happens on this side for me.
This is some exceptions.
Just to not let you get too down yourself.
this is more of a personal journey
this exercise
as opposed to
necessarily trying to beat
everybody.
I mean,
I'm going to win.
That's why I'm wearing my
super shirt.
But this is really more about
like,
what do you value?
What do you want to add
on your roster here?
Yeah,
I wasn't trying to build the best team.
I was trying to,
I'm trying to come away
with a team of my guys,
man,
yeah.
Yeah.
There were several players
that I was like excited
to put onto my board
and then I was like,
oh,
they played four years
There's a handful of those guys.
So I'll try and share those.
You know, who was your number one on that front?
Sam Rayburn.
Mm, okay.
Defensive tackle, the truck driver.
Too young for, or too old for E.J.
to know who he was,
but I would celebrate and get up
and hung the horn after it made a TFL.
This is within the scope of the Eagles 26,
so this is since 2000.
The number one for me that I was,
ah, Colt Anderson.
Yeah, Colt Anderson.
Four years, I want him to be my special player so bad.
Chris Margos.
Oh, my first.
I was one, but my number one was Sean Considine.
I was very disappointed to be only played four years.
Or he played four years.
Here's the thing.
I was saying, well, why would you want to add Sean Constantine to you to the board?
What excited you about that?
So the fun, one of the fun things.
No offense, obviously.
Well, one of the fun things about this exercise was reaching out to either my dad,
my father-in-law, or Les Bowen.
Shout out to all three of those men in my life.
It gave me a good opportunity to go, was that guy actually good?
Like, was he actually good or do I just remember him being good?
Because I was, you know, viewing the Eagles through the lens of like early Madden ratings and just vibes.
So there will be some of that for me, I'm sure.
But yeah, again, I'm trying to get my guys here.
All right.
In order to set the order, in order to set the order, we're going to lean into Lindsay's current rankings of her favorite.
So Lindsay, whoever is number one on your favorites at the moment gets to decide which spot they get.
Today, it's E.J.
Oh, why?
Because you reacted first to my video that I sent.
There you go.
It's a really good video.
You know why?
Because I watched it twice.
I was watching it twice.
It was so good.
I waited to watch it while you were watching me watch it.
Yeah, yeah, but it is really fun.
He just gave a blind reaction, didn't even watch it.
It was not a blind reaction.
He reacted too quickly.
He didn't watch the whole thing.
A blind reaction.
I watched the video.
He was happy you did it.
He didn't really care about the quality of amazing.
Don't even like respond to them.
Yeah, thank you.
Thank you.
So, EJ's first.
Also, I want to say, you know, I've gotten in trouble before for being late to the meeting.
I was very much on time and nobody.
Yeah, Bo was super late.
And then Fran didn't even show up.
Yeah, I was there for the meeting.
Bo might as well have not shown up.
Let's be honest.
We had to repeat everything we talked about.
It took six seconds.
All right.
So you get to pick your spot, E.J.
I want the, I want the turn in the snake.
draft so I went three four you went three four yeah all right Lindsay who's uh next on your
list you you did eventually respond to the video and you eventually showed up to the meeting
ran no response to the text message and did you like the video of course I did I loved it
oh well you didn't have the heart ofodgy right away any word right after I watched it twice you
didn't have any any acknowledgement the lazy the oh that was you I thought it was wait wait okay
Wait, this is, this is, I thought, I just saw somebody hearted it and then E.J. like, texted at the same time.
So I was like, oh, he hearted it and then answered.
So you don't even know if I got it in there first.
So you hearted it first.
I think, yeah, he was hard at first.
He'll miss a roll.
I watched it twice.
I'm still taking it.
Stop the steal.
All right.
So I've got the first pick.
All right.
Before we begin, Fran, the first round is brought to you by our friends at Xfinity.
It's time for the big takeaway as we begin.
the hardly, we hardly flew the draft.
Reminder, three skill positions, two offensive line, one offensive wildcard, two defensive line, one linebacker, two defensive backs, one defensive wildcard, a special teamer and a player who never started a game.
There's, you know, are you going to lean into who you really want the most?
Are you going to lean into where there's some positional scarcity?
I'm curious to see what you do with a first overall pick.
Yeah.
I'm going to go with a guy that had a really high ceiling for one year,
did not make a Pro Bowl,
but it's at a position of scarcity, for sure.
I'm going to take Mackay Beckton.
Interesting.
I'm going to go with the right guard from the 2020-4 season.
Give me Bexton, obviously that we, I mean, look, at this point,
everybody that's watching the show knows what he brought to the table.
Outstanding in the run game was certainly fine enough in the past game
for one of the best offenses of football.
So for me, I'm going to go with Bechton.
I really struggled with offensive line overall in this exercise.
For a number of reasons, I think that the Eagles typically, like, they are locking those guys up.
So a lot of the starters were here for longer than the three-year window.
So give me Bechton here first overall.
Yeah, okay.
Good pick.
Okay.
I can see it.
Hmm.
I'm deciding whether I want to get my guy.
Go with your guy.
No, but I don't think.
You're going to take my guy.
So I am going to be a little bit boring here.
Okay.
And I'm going to just, I'm going to, I'm going to return the serve from Fran
because there's one other starting offensive linemen on a Super Bowl winning championship team.
And that is Stefan Wisniewski.
I will take Stefan Wisniewski as my offensive lineman.
This is immediately backfired.
Do you want to wax poetic about Stefan Wisniewski?
or you're just taking him?
Listen,
we all remember
the left guard rotation.
It wasn't just
Stefan Wisniewski.
That season started as Isaac Sayamalu
and then they started doing
the like every other drive thing
with Wiz and Chance Warmac
wrote a whole rap about it.
But Wiz settled it down
and it was fun because
you could tell that he was not
what Stout necessarily wanted
at Lefguard,
but he made use of what he had.
He was a great,
grinder.
Like a whiz.
He was second on my board at offensive line, so I like the pick.
He was number one on my board, and I'm in trouble now.
You had him ahead of Mackay?
I did.
Did you have my head of Mackay?
I had the two of them together.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah, I had a tear break there.
I'll get to offensive line at the very end of the draft now, and as a result of you guys
just completely ruining my strategy here.
You had the pick.
You had the first.
You took it.
Yeah, I mean, listen, I probably should have.
had some foresight on that one.
I am going to probably break the rules on offensive line.
Warning you now.
So at the turn, I'm going to go, I'm going to really lean into the cult hero appreciation.
And I'm not going to read the strategy of this because you guys probably aren't going to pick
these guys right away.
I'm going to start at defensive line with Timmy Jernigan.
Oh, I like Timmy Jernigan.
Here's my top tier defensive lineman.
If you're thinking of that, like, you know,
1B defensive tackle that plays across from, you know,
a difference making, one of the best players in their generation in Fletcher Cox,
Tim Jernigan is kind of like the beginning of that.
You know, he kind of leads into the Javon Hargrave era
and into the Milton Williams era and the Moro Jomo era.
So I think he is like kind of, we've talked about,
let's put it this way.
He's kind of like a defensive tackle,
poor man's version of like Trey Thomas,
where it's like the beginning of like a cultural thing that like the Eagles are known for.
Like I feel like Tim Jernigan kind of represents that,
at least for my vantage point as an Eagles observer.
I can't remember the offensive lineman I was talking to about it.
But it's stuck in my mind,
the, you know, talking about going up against that Eagles defensive line
and saying, yeah, like, you're worried about Fletch
and you have the, you know, BG and you know,
there was Barnett and you had Chris Long.
But there was something about like lining up against that defensive line
and Tim Jernigan would look at you
and he would flash that grin that would flip with the grill
and just like smile and wave at you.
They just like, you know, kind of like set the tone.
And it's like, yeah, Tim Journeyer was that kind of presence on that group.
I think we all remember the, was it the photo.
It was after the Bears game.
We had the shirt off in the chain with Doug.
Yeah, I believe that's right.
Yep.
Classic.
Classic.
Here's my number one defensive alignment.
Okay.
It's a good pick.
I like that pick out of you, EJ.
You have one more pick.
I do.
I'm checking to see if this guy's ever started a game because I think this is.
Oh, geez.
Here we go.
It's part of one game.
Yeah, there are a couple.
One game.
All right.
Journey was a good player too.
He was a very good player.
Oh, I'll go with, I know, so is it,
it can be offense that never started a game, right?
Yeah, it can be anybody.
I'm going all over the place here.
You know what?
Jay must be terrible at like a game night.
He's like, wait, can I, like, my piece can go here?
Or like, have you guys ever seen the meme where it's like,
you know, when they start reading the instructions to the game?
and then you freak out and then you realize you've already missed like half the instructions.
You've seen that?
That's me.
Can you just cut this and put this into the video that you sent us earlier?
You guys probably aren't going to take this guy this high.
But I want to make sure I get somebody who's never started a game.
Josh McCown.
That's the right.
I think that's the right.
Never started a game pick.
Yeah.
That's a really good call.
Because he is like a cult hero, obviously that prime documentary where you see what he went through in
that playoff game coming in for Carson Wentz.
He kind of has like some lore and like, you know,
behind the scenes COVID year is like a quarterback whisper for Jalen Hertz as well.
So I think his impact on the organization is like bigger than you would expect for the time he spent.
And I enjoyed covering Josh McCown.
So I'm going with the sneaky, never started a game pick here.
He was the top player at my board at that spot.
Okay.
Never started.
Yeah.
Task failed successfully over here.
That's a good one.
That is a good one.
Okay.
I, we have focused early on the weak positions.
I'm going to take a player at what is probably the,
the deepest position in this draft.
But it's the best of them.
It is the person who I would say you could argue
as the best one-year Eagles career ever.
Well, oh, best one year Eagles career.
One year.
Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha, got you.
Yes, I'm with you.
The impact that he made.
I'm sticking with another member of the 2017 championship team.
Give me Patrick Robinson at corner.
Yeah, he was up there for me in terms of, you know, that tier of player.
But not the only DB.
Not the only DB is stacked.
Yes.
Yeah.
But the big thing with Patrick Robinson and a lot of people remember was that that training camp was brutal.
And he was going to be the outside corner opposite Jaylon Mills.
And it was like every day in one-on-ones.
He was just getting beat after, you know, rep after rep after rep.
And they make the trade for Ronald Darby.
And he slides into the slot.
And he was really good that entire season.
And you get the big moment in the NFC championship game.
Off to the races.
All right.
Over to you, Frank.
Close out the second round of the,
we hardly flew the draft.
Yeah, I'm going to go with a defensive back
who was acquired just before his season.
I'm going to go with CJ Gardner Johnson.
High impact.
Well, I don't hate CJ Gardner Johnson.
No, to me, like I like CJ Gardner Johnson as a player.
And to me, like the,
in terms of like the highs, what he can bring,
creating those explosives defensively.
I agree that defensive back is very deep.
But when I look at the top tier here, for me,
this was one I wanted to make sure I got on the,
on the turn.
You want to put him in wild card.
That's where I put him in my categorization.
Don't tell me how to stack my board.
I just liked him as a wild card.
But why would you use your flex spot before you have to?
What did you talk about?
So that's, it's, it's, I didn't look at the wild card on defense at least as a flex
spot. I looked at it like, I wanted a wildcard. I wanted that personality to fit that.
Too literal.
Taking it too literal. Let's close the book on the Big Tivay presented by Xfinity.
We'll give Fran some time to think about the first pick of the third round.

Back in the PHA, YGOs podcast, Bo, Fran, and EJ
rocking into the third round of the We Hardly Flew the,
draft drafting short-term impact players from the Eagles,
this century brandy around the clock.
Yeah, things going.
I would say I was nervous going into this that I had the first pick because,
you know, waiting for that to bounce back to me.
I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get guys at top of my board.
To be able to get this player here, I just really didn't think that he was going to be
available for me in this spot.
And I'm really excited.
There's a big tier break at this position.
I'm going to take former Eagles wide receiver who's here for three years.
Kevin Curtis, who was playing for the Rams to start his career,
played in the shadows of Tori Holt and Isaac Bruce and some of those great Rams
offenses, comes here to Philly and had an outstanding start to his career here.
Only three seasons.
135 targets in that first year, 77 catches, over 1,100 yards, and six touchdowns.
Now, a lot of that happened on September 23rd, 2007.
Many may remember that huge blowout win over the Lions, where in the first half,
nine catches,
205 yards,
and three touchdowns
in the first half
against the lines
and I went back
and watched the film
of that game
just to see
like what Curtis did
and it was a very fun tape
to go back and watch
I thought there was a big
tear break
between he and the rest
of the receivers
here in this group
so I'm gonna go
Kevin Curtis.
Okay.
One?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Kevin Curtis or Curtis Kevin?
I believe it was
Kevin Curtis.
Okay.
I will take
the other
poster
for this episode.
Very happy. I didn't think he would last this long either.
When Franz started saying he was surprised he was going to make it that long.
I am happy to have the, you would have thought that he was a bit of a mercenary coming in.
Turned out to be something of the heart and soul of the 2017 championship team.
I've not got three members of that squad.
I do.
Happy to have Chris Long.
Yep.
On my defensive line.
I think the pure sack numbers might underwhelming a little bit.
sacks in that season, six and a half the year after.
But I think the fact that Chris Long has remained such a mainstay in Eagles culture tells
you how much that time meant to him and how much he meant to Eagles fans during that time.
If Curtis was off the board, I would have taken Chris Long.
So that was, he was not for long, certainly in this, on this draft.
Yeah, he was definitely among the names I was considering, how am I board?
So as I come back on the board here, I see an opportunity to really mistake an early claim on a personality, a play personality on defense.
Now, C.J. Gardner Johnson would have been a good addition to that.
But I think I can still get some swagger in my secondary and put Cousin Grace out of her misery in the cast.
No! I'm taking Cravon LeBlanc.
So this is just pure, like, pandering.
No, this is cult heroes.
I wanted strap.
I'm not going and looking to see production.
I'm not looking to see the starts.
I mean, that's important.
He's not going to piss down his leg.
Yeah, I want some dogs.
I want some cult heroes.
I want some guys who,
when you're sitting in your friends' basement,
which I guess, you know,
and maybe I'm not sitting in the basement,
sitting in the living room,
when you're hanging out with your friends,
the names that get the reaction.
The names that go, oh, that guy was awesome.
I agree with that.
Crave-on-Libon-Lblanc was awesome.
So I want Cravon-Libon-Libon to kind of
to round out.
Tim Jernigan and Cravon-Lavon-Loblock on your defense.
You got some swagger there.
I'm going to revisit the swagger,
but I also kind of need to make sure I'm building out my team a little bit.
Remember that you remember the first draft game?
Sure.
Giants.
Odell Beckham.
Redsone.
Yep.
What are you going to do?
Piss man up or piss down your leg?
Are you allowed to say that for your overtime?
Piss.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You said it like four times.
Piss, piss, piss, piss, piss.
it's like that tennis player
it's fun
we should
I don't know
my second pick
I love strap
I'm gonna go with
that one hurts me
a more productive eagle
but still I think very much appreciated
by Eagles fans
I'm gonna go with Tori Smith
that's a good one
yeah
I feel like I need to maybe have an offense that's a little bit more buttoned up to balance out my defense.
It's full of just absolute dogs.
Okay.
See, you should have taken Torrey Smith first and then completely thrown bow off his game by taking the strap here.
And that's fine as he's going into this.
I'm not like malicious in these games.
I know you're out, you're out for blood.
I'm just here having a good time.
All right.
Here's what the strap pick has done to me.
It has made me
no longer willing to wait
on the guy that I need to make sure that I got.
Oh, okay.
And so,
with my fourth round pick,
I will be using my special team spot.
On the man who was
the best player
on the top ranked special teams unit
at the time he left the Eagles.
This is
someone whose departure from the Eagles
led to their downfall.
in 2023.
I have to.
And we've all seen what he went on to after that.
Very happy to welcome to the squad.
Nice.
Christian Ellis as my special teamer.
Yeah, that was a really bad, like, miss on my part that I should have,
I should have him on him because I didn't even think about it.
That was eligible for this exercise.
I didn't have it on my board.
That's a good one.
As soon as I said, of course he, of course he got him.
But that shows you that, like, you misread the board a little bit because he wasn't on our boards,
I don't think.
No.
just because you've got a bad board
That's good now
That's fine
It's a good call
Yeah they go with the consensus board
All right
So back to me
Yeah
I'm gonna go
I'm gonna go
Another offensive player here
I'm gonna go with my offensive
Wildcard
We did not include quarterbacks
Right
But
For the wild card
I'm gonna go with
I'm gonna go with Jeff Garcia
who gave them really quality play when McNabb was injured.
He came in and it was one of a handful of players
that Andy Reid was able to coach up to get to a level of success.
Now, obviously, he had already had some kind of pedigree there.
But Jeff Garcia will be my pick here for this one.
It's very funny.
Thinking about the vibes in the locker room of EJ's team,
which I love.
I love the dogs that you've got.
And Fran has just the most odious locker room.
Just nasty stuff.
Look, we didn't say, we didn't say that's what this was about, all right?
It's just talking about somebody.
All right.
Keep it a moving.
Another position where I thought there was a good tear break here.
And I'm going to go, I'm going to go back to the beginning part of this, this time frame.
Player that you could make an argument could get some Hall of Fame recognition.
I'm going to go Brian Mitchell, who has maybe of all the fun facts with Brian Mitchell,
no player has more all-purpose yardage against one single NFL team than Brian Mitchell against the Dallas Cowboys
because he spent his entire career playing for the other three NFC's teams and racked up oodles and oodles of return yardage.
On top of what he did as a runner and as a receiver, but what he did in nearly,
sparking that team to Victor to start the O2 NFC title game against the Bucks and that team of
destiny that closed down the vet and should have gone to beat up the Raiders in that in that season.
Yeah, give me B Mitch.
I had Brian Mitchell in as my special team's pick with exclamation points next to them.
Nice.
That's fun.
At least you got LaBlanc though.
Yeah, I got the dogs.
I'm going to keep my nucleus of the 2017 Eagles together here.
I feel very good about this one
and adding somebody to my skill position room
which is empty at the moment.
The hammer of that team.
Give me LaGarrett Blunt.
Feeling very good about having him
open things up for me
by just busting guys' heads down.
You guys are starting to take some of these guys.
I feel like getting contentious in here.
That is what happens in our draft.
I know.
I'm up, right?
Yes.
I'm here on the turn.
Frank going quarterback makes me want to make sure
I get a quarterback I feel good about.
Maybe not the quarterback you're expecting from me.
I'm going to go with Mark Sanchez.
Okay.
You guys don't like Mark Sanchez.
You already have a quarterback.
He got Josh McCown.
Oh, he was my, no, he's my never started a game.
I know, but he's on your team.
Yeah, but I need, I feel like I have to get both.
Okay.
Yeah, I got it.
You do you, man.
You got it.
You got it.
Your guy that is just like deadpan.
It's like, really?
That's what you're going to go for us.
Just hope you avoid road games in the AFC South.
That's all.
I need a backup quarterback.
That's what it is.
I got two.
Literally your other quarterback never started a game.
I need to start a quarterback.
All right.
After that, I am going to make sure that I cover my bases on offense here.
If I can't get Ligarup Blunt, I think I need J. Ajai.
I want to feel good about, again, a folk hero at running back.
maybe not as productive as some of the guys who I was considering here,
but a player that played an important role for an important.
Okay.
I think it's a good pick.
Yeah.
Okay.
Do something a little bit cute.
I get a guy that I really want.
I am going to do something a little bit, a little bit.
Ooh.
I like all the guys at that position, too.
All right.
I'm going to get another skill position player.
and when you think about, I think,
the purpose of this exercise
to remember moments in time.
Thrills that these players gave you,
even if it was very fleeting.
I have never experienced.
I don't think any of us have ever experienced.
Anything.
Like the month of Travis.
Oh, yeah.
Come on.
Nothing like it.
Unprecedented before it.
he was the best receiver in football.
Inexplainable.
For like four weeks in a row.
Can't be explained it.
It might have been a mass COVID hallucination on all of our parts.
And then he was gone.
Give me Travis Fulgum.
It was a very fun stretch.
A bright shining star.
It's a good pick.
It's a really good pick.
It's sad that like I am an Eagles beat reporter.
I should know the answer.
What ever happened to that guy?
I know.
I feel like we never got a real explanation of like,
There's something clearly behind the scenes was going on
because he lost faith
or like the team lost faith in him.
Yeah.
And you understand by then they moved on.
But like even within that season,
they stopped getting reps.
It was crazy.
It was a classic.
So I remember like,
Dynasty fantasy football was like,
oh,
like this guy,
like you could trade first round picks for,
for Travis Fulgum.
And people literally like made those kind of deals.
And then he was gone just like that.
Yeah,
it was a very,
a crazy anecdote from that,
or a footnote from that season.
All right.
I couldn't decide which,
way I was going to go here.
On one hand, there's some really talented players,
guys that are different at different positions.
I'm just going to say this right now.
Go ahead.
Because we're going to go to break after your first pick.
Yeah.
I feel like that's a little bit unfair that you are now getting two breaks
to think about your second pick to EJ.
So let's, the third break is going to be in the middle of an EJ pick.
Got it.
Yeah, because I'm in the trenches here.
He was really worried.
He was really worried about it.
Yeah, so you can take another quarterback.
I will take,
Donovan McNabb.
I don't want to go there.
Give me.
Give me Ronald Darby.
I'll close out my,
I'll close out my DB room
with Ronald Darby
who, look, his addition,
again, going back to the Patrick Robbins,
allowed Patrick Robbins in the slide inside,
and he gave them steady play
throughout the course of that season
on the way to the Super Bowl.
So give me Ronald Darby.
Good pick.
There's the next player on that spot, I think.
My last top tier.
player. But I think the thing we most remember about Ronald Darby is being in very good
coverage and allowing a catch anyway. There were a number of players that fit that the exact
description on my board that weren't on the Super Bowl team. So that's what gave him the edge
for me. Man, the spreadsheet that you have for the draft is. It's really not in that. It's just color
coding. It literally has three colors. Okay. Spread sheet, big spreadsheet guys over here.
All right. Hang with us as the, we hardly flew the draft rolls on.

Welcome back to the PHAY Eagles podcast.
Moving on into the next round of the We Hardly Flew the Draft
and let's do it through the prism of the Hogi Fest Hangout.
Presented by our friends at Wawa,
happy Hogi Fest to you.
And to you.
And to me.
And you, and you, and you, energy.
Let's go with my next pick here.
Okay.
mentioned the
that one performance we remember from Kevin Curtis
where he goes off in the first half
against the Detroit Lions.
My player here
has a similar type of performance.
This one went in prime time.
I believe it was Monday night football
against the Carolina Panthers.
First half runs for over 100 yards,
including a 65-yard touchdown.
It was his first start since high school.
Fun one.
He'll be running back, Bryce Brown.
Former number one recruit.
you know, just fizzled out in college,
goes in the seventh round to the Eagles
in the 2012 draft.
Only played two years here in Philly.
Got comparisons to Bo Jackson
immediately after this performance.
Give me Bryce Brown here in this spot.
No sign-to-side lateral agility whatsoever.
Nope.
But if he could just get to the corner
and hit the wheels,
oh my gosh, it was wild.
You could see the big-time high school athlete
in that spot.
That's a fun one.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Okay.
All right, I'm going to do the one.
This is the one that's maybe a little bit
against the spirit of the exercise,
just a little bit.
But he hits all the criteria,
made a big impact in the time that he was here,
and then he went and signed a deal with the Carolina Panthers
for a whole bunch of money.
Give me Jalen Phillips on my defensive line.
Okay.
I mean, honestly, you would probably make the argument
that he should have gone earlier.
Yeah, I didn't even think about him.
That's a good one.
Depends on what you're going.
for. Like if you're building a good team, yeah, he is better than a lot of, almost all the
names of his own. Even when, even in, during the points of the season where it was fun, yeah,
he was a big part of that. Absolutely. It was a part of the big vibes shift that that happened
to the middle of the season before the time went in a dark. So I'm happy to have Jill and Phillips.
Okay. Um, I'm going to go with one player who is more in the line of like a productive player
that, you know, maybe isn't like the name that's going to get the reaction at the party.
and then I'll go with a name that is going to get the reaction at the party
that's also going to fit the culture I'm building on defense.
Who do you want first?
Your draft, baby.
I'm going to go with the name that's going to get the reaction.
And then as people come down from that reaction, I can say my other guy.
I'm going to go with Michael Bennett.
Again, just trying to get all the dogs on defense.
You know, the little shoulder pads, swagger on the interior there.
I want those mercenary defensive linemen and that he fits the bill for that.
I'll give everybody a quick reset here.
Okay.
Okay, and read the roster.
So through seven rounds,
Fran has filled his wide receiver running back tight end room
with Kevin Curtis, Brian Mitchell, and Bryce Brown.
No, Brian Mitchell was my special team.
I apologize.
Brian Mitchell is special teams.
Okay.
Kevin Curtis and Bryce Brown, one spot open.
Mackay Beckton on the offensive line.
Jeff Garcia has the wild card.
CJ Gardner Johnson and Ronald Darby at defensive back
and Brian Mitchell at special teams.
I've got Lagart Blunt and Travis.
Fulgum, Stefan Wisniewski, Chris Long, Jalen Phillips, Patrick Robinson, and Christian Ellis.
EJ is got Tori Smith, Jay Ajay, Mark Sanchez, Tim Jernigan, Michael Bennett, Rayvon LeBlanc,
and Josh McCown.
Okay, I appreciate the reset here.
I'm going to go with a player that my dad gave the stamp of approval to.
The numbers would bear it out to.
Somehow did not get recognition.
Mark Seminole
went on to have a decent career
after the Eagles
but I looked you know
it's 2003 season
he had 102 total tackles
he started all 16 games
that season
why are you smiling at me
because you wanted him?
No,
it wasn't on my board
okay linebacker is a very interesting one
because it was a very much
a like professor of the dark arts position
where like there was a constant rotation
where they'd sign guys on one year deals
especially the early stages of Andy
and Seminoe was a part of that rotation
but I found other guys
guys that I just had, because I only put, since we're only drafting one, I only had a board of
five just so I had some names down. I needed at least one or two, like very productive players
that are actually, that were good beyond just like, you know, having a reaction for the fans
or that folk hero status. So he, well, so here's the thing is that he was like very much in
the crosshairs because he was the replacement for Trotter. Yeah. So he got completely, he got consistently
compared to Trotter. And even though like, you know, he had production and there was, he wasn't, he
wasn't like a terrible player.
Yeah.
But because he wasn't the ax man,
he was,
he very much came under fire.
Okay.
What?
No,
I'm trying to do.
I'm just trying to do.
Um,
no,
you guys are,
well,
you can't take that guy.
Good point in the chat.
From,
uh,
Joe 76,
uh,
G,
backup kicker.
Mark Simino stepped in.
And Dave Davis got hurt against,
I believe it was against the Raiders.
And Mark,
Mark Semino,
stepped in,
and take extra points.
What year was this?
It was, uh,
that would have been,
oh,
three.
Okay.
I believe.
I believe it was 03.
Hmm.
Um,
but I would rather have him,
even though he's a better pick.
Okay.
Was 2003.
Um.
Oh,
no, it was 2005.
After the Super Bowl year.
Mm.
2005.
This is a weird pick.
Okay.
But I like,
a lot of these are weird picks.
I'm happy to have this pick.
Uh,
You're looking, the offensive line we've talked about, it's pretty shallow.
I'm going to fill my other offensive line spot.
Yeah, this is tough.
With a player who is a good NFL offensive lineman.
A backup.
Cool.
But forced into action.
He's probably a below average starter, but he can be a below average starter at four different spots.
More importantly, one of the best guys to talk to in the locker room, Wolfston's Super Bowl.
Superstar.
Happy to have him along for the ride here.
Give me Andrew Gardner on the roster, baby.
Good one.
That's a good one.
There were a bunch of players from like that type of where,
because that is the pool.
Those are the ponds that were fishing in.
It's like the guys that didn't really start.
Like kind of the backups that were here for a couple of years.
That was one of the guys that I was like,
oh, he played too long was,
Alan Barber.
I know four seasons.
Yeah, four seasons.
I thought that was like two years.
I thought so too.
I thought so too.
Andrew Garner, baby!
That's good pick.
Well, seeing as how E.J. is going to be boxed out of offensive linemen, I'm just going to take one now just to just to remove one.
Yeah, just to make sure that he's definitely removed.
I'm just going to cheat, so it'll be a waste anyway.
So, yeah.
Just letting you know that.
Cam Jurgis has only played three years.
Pro Bowl.
Right.
That's true.
You would never pick Cam Durk's.
Anyway, hold it.
Again, like, it's slim pickings along the offensive line.
We'll relive an Eagles holiday.
Honestly, it's not a great, they're not great memories from this one.
It's Stacy's Day.
Give me Stacy Andrews.
Oh, interesting.
Yeah, give me Stacy Andrews.
Yeah, it wasn't, it's kind of slim picking for guys that, like, play, you know, as a starter.
I'll tell you who my other one was.
I don't want to give them any ideas.
I've got three other guys on there.
Just everybody just relax.
That includes CDP in the chat.
You don't need to start name an offensive lineman.
Nate Herbig is not eligible.
Yes, he is.
No.
Why is he not eligible?
He played for four years.
No, he played for three.
It was a rookie contract play.
He played his rookie deal here.
He played three seasons for the Eagles.
I'm looking at it.
What are you looking at?
Pro football reference.
Because that's that you got,
he wasn't, he was on the roster before that.
Didn't count.
No.
You know what?
I just said I'm going to cheat with the offensive linemen.
So there we go.
That's like like Jerome McDougal would be one.
It's like, oh, like, he was on the roster,
but he was like on the NFI list because he got shot for a year.
He missed a year and they missed another year.
Not the same thing.
Every day.
He was not the same thing.
Yeah, got shot for you.
This is like, you know, so the story about the parking attendant where I was like,
I wish I just said to him like, what are you going to do if I don't move?
What are you guys going to do if I cheat on the offensive line?
What are you going to do?
Well, what are you going to do if I cheat on the offensive line?
Ridicule you.
You are in front of the people that are watching?
Do your worst.
I'm going to feel great about it.
All right.
For my next one,
I'm going to take our second linebacker.
This was definitely during the professor of the dark arts era.
So this was a player that was in that role
before the Eagles brought in Mark Seminole from Atlanta.
I'm going to go Sean Barber.
Now, Sean Barber signed over.
He was with Washington, I believe, before the Eagles,
came in for 2002,
was second on that team and tackles
behind Brian Dawkins.
One and done,
one year deal,
signed a big deal with Kansas City.
Came back briefly a few years later.
But Sean Barber had gave them a,
he was a really good season on that defense,
which again,
really, really good,
one of the better defenses in football that year.
So give me Sean Barber in that role.
Okay.
All right.
Where are the spots that I need
that EJ also needs?
Oh, my God.
I can't even figure out the spots I need
in here over there doing trigonometry.
it's not that complicated
I want to make a pick
that's there's two defensive backs
who I would
who are worthy of a pick here
DB was tough
DB is deep one of them
is the one who should be the pick
okay one of them is the guy who I just want on my team
and is one of my guys and if I was looking at getting my guys
on the roster he should be the pick
but I could potentially use the wild card for him
I'm going to use the pick
on the guy who deserves to be the pick here.
Isaiah Rogers.
Yeah, that's a good pick.
Isaiah Rogers.
Very good one season with the Eagles.
We all remember it.
It was not that long ago.
Then I went on to have a good season with the Vikings.
I'm happy to have Isaiah Rogers here.
That's a good one.
DB was really good.
I have a lot of names at DB.
So, yeah, this was a co-and he was on that list.
All right.
Back to you.
No, it's E.
Yeah, it is E.
Okay.
Wait, I thought you had another pick.
I've been in the middle of the whole.
whole time.
All right.
I'm going to make my first pick and then we're going to go to break.
We all need saturated sigh.
Honestly, it's been 46 minutes.
I feel great about it.
Just been in the mess.
Just laughing.
Oh.
All right.
He was doing so good.
Next time you just have to switch seats to like the order your end.
So he knows who just like that way.
That way.
It would have been nice.
That's what I should have done to help E.J.
I've been like, this is the order.
Yeah, that's true.
All right, how about we close Hogi Fest Hangout
and let EJ get 30 more seconds to think about his first pick here?
Yeah, no, I was pretty unprepared for this.
I think it might show.
I'm going to go with Dominique Rogers-Kermardi as a corner.
Okay.
Does that feel appropriate?
Yeah, he's eligible.
Yeah, he's eligible, and he's on there.
Yep.
Pretty sure he's eligible.
Yeah, he's eligible.
Yeah, he's eligible.
I yeah
yeah
DRC
Batman
I like the
I like the RC
yeah
the Batman costume
was a classic
I have to work
at a full
slick
that was for
a child
definitely not for an adult
full of
did the whole media
availability
he was he was
I like DRC
me too
I don't need
the break for this
I can
no no no no
we need the break
we need the break
we need the break
well
We'll be back to find out what E.J. doesn't need a break for. Maybe he'll change his mind in the

Back on the P.HL.I. Eagles podcast.
E.J. on the clock in the we hardly flew the draft.
And I'm just doing such a great job.
You've got both offensive line spots, one offensive skill position player,
defensive wildcard and special teams open.
I definitely knew exactly the spots I had opened.
I'm going to do my last skill position spot here.
And I was tempted to go with a folk hero.
But I, instead I'm going to go with a player who I had fond memories of when I was growing up.
And when I went to look back and see the stats, I was pleasantly surprised.
And that's James Thrash.
I enjoyed the James Thrash experience when I was a kid.
and looking back, it's fun.
You were a little kid.
Yeah, I was, but I remember, that's like me remembering, enjoying watching him was like enough.
And then looking back, he had basically the best three years of his career with the Eagles.
He started his career with the commanders, well, with Washington.
And, yeah, successful with the Eagles, went back to Washington and was never really the same exact player that he was with the Eagle.
So I thought that was a fun part of his story.
And yeah, I mean, he passed the E.J. Smith, the second test when I called and was like,
James Stash was like pretty good, right?
So yeah, I'm going to round out my skill positions with him.
He was just miscast.
Like he was the number one receiver for that team for the majority of Donovan's rookie contract.
And he should have never been a number one receiver.
It wasn't his fault.
But he was a nice player.
I mean, the one that stands out, the game winning touchdown against the Giants
when they finally beat the Giants for the first time in years.
That was a Monday night football.
He caught a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
It was probably the highlight.
But he was traded to Washington for a future.
fifth round pick.
Ooh, who did it become?
A member of the 26th.
Really?
Trent Cole.
Trent Cole.
Mm.
All right.
Good one there for James.
Yeah, it's a good Eagles tenure.
What's that?
Cole Trent.
Cole Trent.
All right.
I am going to do something a little bit sneaky.
Oh.
For my, I'm going to fill my spot for the never started a game.
Okay.
Position.
And I'm going to give this one a shout out.
to Mr. Rodriguez.
Give me Dicker the kicker.
Mm.
Mm.
Nice.
Damn Dicker as mine never started.
He was on my specialist this year.
I like that.
It's a good one.
Um, all right.
So I've got two here at the turn.
I'm going to go.
You've got skill position, two defensive line, defensive wild card.
It never started.
Yep.
I can wait on the defensive line because you guys have already selected, too,
although you guys can do it.
wild cards so I should probably get on that.
Yeah, let's do that.
Yeah, it just occurred to me. I was like, oh, wait,
they can still select wild cards there.
All right, so.
Do you ever read that, Lindsay?
All right, let's do,
hmm, here's a fun name.
Shout out to Tommy Lawler, by the way,
to our good friend, Tommy.
Derek Landry.
Spark plug, defensive tackle,
the later years of Andy Reid
there, give me Derek Landry.
the defensive tackles.
My first pick.
That's a fun remember that name.
And then let's go.
Got lots of options at skill player.
I'm just admiring the spreadsheet.
He's got these like categories.
Yeah, because we have to draft off category.
No, but you've got like remember the name.
Like no.
That's not true.
I can't read that.
That's not true.
That's so much prep for.
I appreciate it.
All right. Let's go,
I'm going to pass that.
I'm going to pass that.
All right.
I am going to go,
I'm going to go with another defensive lineman.
And this one is more of like a,
oh,
like if this guy just gets a chance,
he's going to,
he's going to do big things and he just didn't.
I want to say he was probably a media favorite.
Philip Hunt.
Yeah,
I like Philpont.
He's on my list.
He was on my list.
He was on my list.
He was on my list.
He goes on my list.
I can't tell you.
I can't go up against Chris Long and Jalen Phillips.
I'm a little bit underwhelmed by your choice
as a defensive line.
I like a Philippine, but.
Yeah.
Okay.
At the end of this, we'll share the rest of the who's left on the board.
I want to see who did I miss?
I'm sure I missed some good ones there.
Oh, let's see you're having a great time over there with these names.
Dicker, Hunt, it's all.
Got to get on that.
All right.
Lineback you both have, so I don't need to take that now.
It's a wild card.
EJ could draft.
No, actually there's nothing I can draft that EJ can draft.
Just draft your draft, man.
You don't got to worry about me over here.
All right, I'm going to take my linebacker
because EJ could technically take a linebacker here.
And this is another one where I think there's a guy
who I should take and a guy that I want to take.
And then a guy that I just want to mention.
We'll mention them at the end.
We'll mention everybody at the ad.
I think the right thing for me to do is take Kaiser White.
Yeah, it's a good pick.
Who I think is an underrated player from that one season, the 22 season,
good enough to keep rookie Nikobe Dean completely off the field, was reliable.
Then went on to have that crazy year with the Cardinals,
but I'm happy to have Kaiser White as my linebacker.
He was a good player on that team.
There were questions about him coming from the Chargers.
Like, does he have staying power in the league?
he came to Philly and it was lights out for that defense.
So yeah, I think it's a good pick.
All right.
Over to your E.J.
Can you remind me what I have?
You've got offensive line.
You have two offensive line spots, your defensive wild card, and your special teamer.
Okay.
And a quarterback.
I do not need another quarterback.
Quarterback factory over here.
I'm going to go offensive line first.
I can't wait to see where these go.
Feel better about this.
I'm actually not going to cheat for the first one.
I'm going to go with Bo's boy.
Coyote, how is sheka.
Okay.
Good one.
I mean, we're just going for cult heroes here because, again, hard to find guys who've played a lot of football for the Eagles that would fit this criteria.
After that, I, so you said I have defensive wild card specialist and which else, another offensive lineman?
Yes.
I'm just going to cheat on the offensive lineman now.
No, you know what?
I'm going to go with my defensive wild card.
And I'm going to take Indomacan Su.
A fun Eagles player, it's fun that he was there for a little bit.
I think he fits a wild card descriptor.
Yeah.
Because he was a little bit of a wild card.
And I mean, you could make an argument that him and another member that I won't name
in case one of you guys wants to wax poetic about them soon.
Maybe they don't make it to the Super Bowl that year without Indamacan Suu.
Yeah, I think he took the wrong one.
I think Indomaconsu is more of the wild card.
Just more of it.
I want a couple of players like, oh yeah, he played for the Eagles.
So that's why I went with him instead of Linvall.
I think Linval is a way better player.
way more impactful
I'm not arguing that
I'm not arguing that
I'm just arguing
I'm just going for names man
I'm drafting my team over here
well in the spirit of that
I will draft
I will draft my guy
at the skill position
there's there's two guys
I have left on the board
no there's three guys I have left on the board
but
I got it I mean
it's elder buckley
It's not Algebra.
It's not Algebra Buckley, really?
Oh, wow.
Shout out to Algebraicke, the most nude eagle of my time having the team.
I thought for sure that was going to be the pick.
It's not Algebra Buckley.
Although Algebra Buckley, I believe, does have their,
I was looking at it.
I think of it maybe most games played by a non-specialist who didn't start a game.
Okay.
He could be here, he could be here, a guy there.
I'm just going to take one of the true
bottom of my heart cam crushes
there's ever been.
He's on my board.
Boy, was I right.
DeAndre Carter is my last skill position player.
You got a fun position group.
Yes.
Skill position group.
Ligari Blunt, Travis Fulgum, DeAndre Carter.
Yeah.
All right, Fran, you've got three spots left.
Three spots left.
Skill, defensive wild card, and never started.
All right.
let's go skill first and man i've got there are so many options uh you guys already filled up you guys
already filled up yes i'll save all the all the names for later i'm gonna go give me jordan howard
i i really likes jordan howard when he was with uh when he was with the eagles and obviously the
wheels kind of fell off from a from a like the injury standpoint um but i to me like he was exactly
what they needed for that offense uh and they they missed his presence uh when he left so
Give me Jordan Howard there.
I like that.
That's a good pick.
Yeah, it's a good pick.
He's a nice guy too.
Yeah, I like Jordan Howard.
All right, and then I have defensive wildcard and guy who never started.
So I saved these two players as like, oh, that's a fun name.
So I'm trying to decide which I want to save for like the final one.
For my defensive wild card, I'm going to go with a guy who was just like, ah, this is like one of the all what could have been team,
which could be its own segment or its own show.
It's like, what could have been?
I'm going to go with J.R. Reid.
Okay.
Safety, the safety who was drafted, 2002 or 2003.
Has the rookie year.
He's really good on special teams.
Looks like he could be like a player on defense.
And he was jumping a fence in the off season.
Gets caught in the fence.
Has like this freak injury that like it was nerve damage to his leg.
And it was like questions about whether he'd ever play again.
Came back.
He missed the whole year.
Came back.
had to wear like a
special like tailor made brace
I was able to carve out
like a nice career as like a special teamer after that
but never was able to kind of reach that upside
and what you hoped for as a rookie.
So J.R. Reed for me.
Played two years in Philly to start his career.
I like that.
Okay.
I'm going to use my offensive wild card spot
and I'm happy to add this personality to the team.
We talked about
last week
the really fun
season that Leonard Weaver had
as one of three guys
no he's not eligible
he was an all pro
one of three players
this century to make an all pro team
his first year on the team
not eligible
but how did the Eagles go about
replacing Leonard Weaver
how do they add that intensity
to the team
how can I add it to my team
welcome
to the squad.
The great.
Owen Schmidt.
Owen Schmidt.
Nice.
That's a good one.
Yeah, I like that.
He was like the last true fullback
that they have the roster.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Are we, uh,
we're in Bovertime.
We are in Bovertime.
Oh, my funny story about Bovertime.
My dad was hanging out with my niece and nephew,
so he's having some good grandpop bonding time.
Yesterday he's on the phone with,
or no, this morning.
He was on the phone.
with me we were talking about great eagles and he goes like all right it's time for me to go like
you know me and uh your niece and nephew are going for breakfast time so i really enjoyed that
this like the nice so i've got specialist and defense or offensive line yeah no no you've got
offensive line and special teams yeah special teams yeah um i'm gonna cheat on both of these and i don't
What are you guys going to do about it?
I'm going to stretch a little bit.
I don't think that this is stretching, though.
It's a special teams contributor, right?
A special team's ace, I can fit into this category.
I'm going with Oren Berks.
Played a very important role.
He was a special teams contributor throughout the regular season,
and obviously he started in the Super Bowl.
Played an important role for one of the greatest teams in NFL history.
I don't think that's cheating.
I think that's fine.
Yeah, that one is less of a stretch.
my last offensive lineman
the barren wasteland
I'm taking Fred Johnson
and I don't know
no no no he's already played four years
not eligible no he's played three hasn't it
this will be his fourth year he's not eligible
it's his fourth year
he's not eligible
I thought you're going to do Tyler Steen
he's not eligible he's at three years
you can take David Mulk
you can take Kyle DeVan
you can take this would be his fourth year
you can take chance war Matt
Howie Rosevin said it
the world could end tomorrow
we don't know if he's not eligible
he's already practiced this
He's not going to put an asterisk on my team.
I don't care.
No, you're not allowed to finish.
You're not done yet.
I mean, I've got, I'm looking at Wikipedia.
He joined the team during the 2020 season.
So it's 2022, 22, 2023, 2024, 2024, 2025.
Fine.
Give me a chance, Wormick, and you can still put an asterisk on my team.
I don't care.
Warmac is good.
Wormack's fine.
I have a question.
Your rules, you're saying like he practiced at spring practice.
So, like, that starts his fourth year.
What would that count for like, if this was the whatever?
I think it's fifth year for pension or health benefits.
Would it count for the league?
That's in a crude season.
It's like you're going to play a certain amount of games.
So I think EJ's good.
No, he's not.
Plus,
the guy,
plus he was on practice broad here before.
You guys.
You've put your thumb on the scale enough in EJ's direction today.
He needs it.
Fumbled it.
Tipped the scale over.
All right.
My last spot is for defensive wild card.
And there's just,
there's guys that have a like.
So many.
I don't know who to take.
I could take Linval Joseph.
Yep.
I got to take one of two guys.
Okay.
Because this is, for me, this is a personal, romantic thing, harkening back to the beginning
of my time covering the team.
Two guys who I really were, like, before the Bow Wolf Camp Crush existed, these are my
guys.
But I'm going to settle on one of them.
Truly one of my favorites.
linebacker Moses Focke.
Oh yeah, you did love him.
I loved Moses.
He was one of my favorite guys in that locker room.
Great guy in the locker room.
And you know what?
A good player.
He was.
He was here for three seasons.
Yep.
Two years in which he was a rotational starter.
Yep.
And a good player.
So I'm happy to have Moses Foku on my team.
Akeem Jordan was one of the players where I was like, oh, he played four years.
Yeah.
That was one where I caught me off guard.
And that same lineback.
We'll do the naming guys after you finish.
All right.
So my last one is the guy who never started.
I was saving like, oh, that's a fun name to remember.
Ifani MoMA.
A Fani MoMA.
Wow.
Give me Afani Moma.
Former.
Fonima.
Than that is the man.
Yes.
Give me,
who was making the conversion from wide receiver at Boston College to,
to tight end.
Failed experiment, but fun name.
And National Writers came in during training camp.
It said like, oh, don't hold this guy out.
Keep an eye out on Afani Moma.
And obviously, that did not come to the first of a show.
Brand's team.
Kevin Curtis.
Jordan Howard.
Bryce Brown.
Mackay Beckton.
Stacey Andrews.
Jeff Garcia.
Derek Landry.
Philip Hunt.
Sean Barber.
C.J. Gardner Johnson.
Ronald Darby.
J.R. Reed.
Brian Mitchell.
Afony Moma.
A fun team.
Fun team.
My team.
I didn't tell you this.
Because I didn't want to,
I didn't want to.
I didn't want to affect your board.
Okay.
But I was committed to only drafting guys I covered.
Got it.
So I was only drafting guys since 2009.
That makes sense.
That would have affected my board.
Legerrett Blunt.
Travis Fulgum.
DeAndre Carter.
Stefan Wisnuski.
Andrew Gardner.
Owen Schmidt.
Chris Long.
Jalen Phillips.
Kaiser White.
Isaiah Rogers.
Patrick Robinson.
Moses Foku.
Christian.
Ellis and Cam Dicker.
I mean, I think we know who won this game.
E.J.
Tori Smith.
Jay Ajai.
James Thrash.
Coyote Awashika.
Chance Warmac.
Mark Sanchez.
Tim Jernigan.
Michael Bennett.
Mark Siminole.
Rayvon LeBlanc.
Dominique Rogers Grimardi.
Domican Sue.
Orrin Berks and Josh McCann.
It's just the Mark Sanchez thing.
The rest of it's fine.
I love my defense.
The Mark Jan—
Mark Sanchez pick was.
a little bit of a force.
It just doesn't hit the ear really well.
That one's straight.
Yeah, that's tough.
Some guys.
You want to name some guys?
Yeah.
Should we go like who's left on the board?
It's that offensive skill.
Who's left on the board?
Okay.
Zach Pascall.
Nice one.
Josh Adams.
Oh, good one.
Good one.
Good name.
Dion Lewis, who I wanted to,
he was in contention for never starting.
Yes, he was a,
but all of his,
he was not good here.
They just traded him too early.
And then Jerome Harrison,
who had,
who had that one awesome game.
I had Golden Tate, your boy.
I would never have taken him,
but just wanted to have them on there
just so I could get in a reaction out of you.
Antonio Freeman and Dorsey Levens,
both on that same 2002 team coming from Green Bay.
Ryan Matthews, who just, it's a shame,
just got, like the injuries just took their toll on him.
James Casey.
Yeah, I like James Casey.
If you wanted a tight end.
Yep, but the guy that I left at the top of the board
and it was just, you know, it was a long time ago.
But he's, to me, like, he was a good,
player was Charles Johnson. He was a fine a fine player. So he was he was Donovan's first number one
receiver under Andy Reed. I have full disclosure. Some of these guys might not have been eligible
as I went through my list. Devante Smith. No, Jordan Matthews. Why? No Jordan Matthews. He's
eligible, right? I don't think so. I think he's eligible. I might. I don't know if. Oh, you know what
it is? He came back in 2019. Yeah. So that that ruined it. I, Julio Jones, just for the fun of
That's what that is what ruined it.
He came back in 2018 and 2019.
Yeah, because he only spent the first three years.
If he had never come back, he would have been eligible.
Richard Rogers and Hank Basket were the other guys.
I was going to put Dick Rod on there.
I mean, yeah, you can, it's over time.
We can call him Dick Rod.
Yep, it's a good one.
I thought it was here too long.
Dick Rod?
Four years of Dick Rod?
Because he just kept coming back.
Yeah, he's too long.
Yeah.
I'm sneaking him in here.
Who's this guy?
That's the, that's the,
the playwright
or the
more than one
dick rot out there
yeah sure is
offensive line
we talked about
pretty slim picking
so many years
I had David Mulk
and Kyle Devan
undrafted
that was it
Demetra Spell
Demetre Spell
had on mine
yeah it was slim picking
his offensive line
defensive line
we left some meat
on the bone
yeah
Linval Joseph
as we talked about
yeah
Thomas Booker
Alodi Nata
Amma
Darrell Tap was one.
Oh, that's a bad one.
That's a bad miss by me.
I should have taken tap over Phillip Hunt.
I wanted to put Hunt in there
because there was just like a fun name.
But there's one more.
I haven't even said the guy
who I liked the most.
Who? Antonio Dixon.
Oh, big Dix.
Lindsay?
Linebacker.
Wait, wait, what about Chris Gokong?
He was here way too long.
No.
Wasn't he?
I thought it was...
I'm using a pro football.
You did the other thing
with the three years.
It's a rookie contract, though, I'm pretty sure.
He's a player as rookie.
06, 07, 08,09, yeah, four years.
I had Joe O'Sman on mine, too.
Oh, that's fun.
That's a fun name.
Linebacker.
Will Witherspoon.
Cool, good name.
Remember, that's a lot of awesome night, Monday night football
after they traded for him.
Joe Mays,
Ernie Sims,
Ian and Clayton.
Yeah.
And most importantly.
Brian Roll
That's the thing
linebacker there are a lot of names
Alex Singleton actually counted
Yeah
He did qualify
I just assumed that he didn't
Yeah no
Singleton qualified
Dehany Jones
qualified
I like the guitar celebration
A must
A must to see
And then Nate Wayne
Nate the Great
Another shout out to Tommy Lawler
Let's go Nate Wayne there
Okay
Defensive backs
Anthony Harris
Good one
That's a good one
Nomdi
man it's a shame that you go well you have to include them
I thought about it put on a wire
Roussel qualifies
which wasn't happening here
I liked the Ellis Hobbs experiment experience
and then the guy who I really
almost took at the very end Walter Thurmond
no I thought you were gonna do it who was it
no the man who I agreed with
baldy when he told us
in the middle of this season
that the Eagles had the best pair of starting
cornerbacks in the NFL
in Asante Samuel
and Dimitri Patterson
Oh, it's a good one.
Yeah,
Tamichie Passon's a good name.
I put Nolan Carroll in there.
Okay.
Brandon Boykin.
Oh, Brandon,
I was not sure that he qualified,
but he did.
Yep,
they traded him before that.
He traded him before his working deal was up.
Walter Thurmond.
And I threw Carrie Williams in there.
I kind of,
I just like that.
I like Carrey Williams.
I like Carri Williams.
Yeah,
I like, I like Carrie Williams.
Okay.
A lot of corners, a lot of,
a lot of DBs.
And then the other guys I have on here
as potential special teams,
ACEs,
La Roy Reynolds.
Craig James
Duke Riley
Dura Calvin
And then never started the game
I could have gone Elijah Riley
And there's also T.W. McGill
And that's...
You know it was close for never started a game?
Now listen, he is technically on the roster right now
But Marlon Toy Poulotu has only started
one game in his Eagles pretty good
He'd be a fun one.
Yeah
Sean Mori was a special teamer
I was a really good special teamer for a long time
in the NFL
I started his career here in Philly.
Damaris Johnson.
Yeah, I like Damaris.
Yep.
This is his high school once.
No, that's right.
For never started.
I had Dionne Lewis in there.
MoMA, Rahim Mostert.
And then I threw in Henry Josie.
I was like, oh, Henry Josie.
I feel like that was an Alex Smith favorite.
Henry Josie?
Yeah, I think that's right.
I think that's right.
All right.
I would tell you to tell us who you
think one, but we all know who they
We all know who the answer to that is.
What we got?
I love seeing some of these names in here, though.
Stuart Bradley.
This is my bow wolf,
back-to-back super swordcasting champion.
These are the bows
eating up the little
EJ and a little friend.
They're very little.
You really got to get close
to realize what's going on with the shirt.
onto a t-shirt.
John High Tower.
I got the P. H.L.M.
John Hightower.
James Bradbury.
Someone said,
James Bradbury.
Yeah, we forgot.
He was all pro.
He was all pro.
He was all pro.
But say,
that really should be.
You guys got a comment
and tell us who we missed.
Who were your favorite cult heroes,
folk heroes?
Just great Eagles that were only here for a few years.
Elijah Holyfield,
that's a good one.
That's a fun one.
Man,
the T.Y. McGill wants a bad miss.
That was a good call for you.
That was a good one.
At the end there.
I didn't,
I should.
I would have picked them if I had them on my board.
That's what I mean.
Like,
like,
I didn't even have on my board.
Yeah.
That's a good one.
All right,
everybody.
Thank you for watching.
Thank you for listening.
We will talk to you on Monday,
Monday a special Eagles 26 episode.
Looking forward to that.
Thank you, Lindsay,
for making it happen behind the scenes.
Talk to you later.
Enjoy the weekend, everybody.
And as always,
we love you.
Like the mayor.
