And welcome to the P.HLY Eagles podcast on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon.
Bull Wolf, Zach Berman, back in the saddle after last night's electric.
Primetime performance.
Zach, you look great.
How you doing?
First and foremost, happy birthday, Bo.
That might not be the last time you hear that on this show.
But to the best host in the city, happy birthday.
I'm doing well.
I'm excited for, excited for the show.
This is a fun topic.
I'll let you introduce the topic,
but I'll explain why it's a fun topic thereafter.
Yeah, so listen, we sort of unpacked the notebook on yesterday's show.
If you want to know the details of everything that happened at minicamp,
listen to last night's episode.
We've been talking about some of the depth chart machinations over the course of OTAs.
But today's show, we want to take a little bit of a step back.
and it's a stock report. It's a buy low. That's not a concept that you're unfamiliar with. However,
we're not doing like looking back on whose stock rose over the course of camp or dropped over the course of the spring.
Rather, we're looking ahead. I want you to look ahead 365 days, Zach, and you're prognosticating.
Whose stock would you buy if this were a stock market? Who's going to improve their standing in the Eagles fandom over the course of the next 365 days?
and if there's anybody you think is going to drop, we'll address those as well.
Or you're just going to go with five.
Tell me why you think that's so fun.
Is it just because you love the stock market?
No, that's not the reason at all.
I think it's because the reason I like this concept is it takes what you have evaluated,
okay?
It takes what you expect to occur.
And then you have to combine it with what you expect to occur.
You have to look at different market conditions.
the roster, how you expect them to play,
what their situation is going to be next year.
Like the concept of this or the concede of this,
as you would say,
is like take Zach Bond last year.
If you bought Zach Bond stock at the end of training camp last year,
it would be in a great spot.
It would be a billionaire.
If you bought Bryce Huff stock at the end of training camp last year,
that thing would have sank.
If you took, like last year,
I probably would have taken Devonte Smith's stock
at the end of training camp.
That went down, right?
A little bit.
Yeah, you didn't lose your house, but yeah, it took a, you know, cost of doing business.
That's probably a stock, like, that's a stock where you say, you know what, it went down,
but I'm holding it now because I think it's going to go back up or I want to buy a little more into it.
Conversely, if you bought Sequin stock, it went up, but you probably like, you know what,
I want to sell that right now because I don't.
You got to go off now.
Yeah, that's top of the market.
So I think it's.
It's a cool way to really put your money where your mouth is, so to speak, right?
Like you say, oh, I'm excited.
I give you a budget.
That's an interesting.
I didn't prepare for that.
On my manifesto, it was to come prepared for every show.
But yeah, if we want to throw in a little wrinkle, it's June 11th.
That's a little bit late.
That would have been a good idea.
It's your birthday.
I'm excited for every show.
I don't think I've ever been more excited for a show than this because.
Really?
Well, I'll tell you why, not because of the topic.
Okay.
Yeah.
It's the first day without school.
Okay.
School's out for the summer as we established yesterday.
And it's kind of that in-between period, between the end of school and the start of like summer camp or summer activities, right?
And so we have the, you know, we have the friends, we have some friends, not all the friends, but some friends of.
of Reid and Sloan over the house today. And it is, it's, it's like a zoo in here. So I couldn't
wait to say to Emily, look, I gotta go prepare for my show. I gotta go to the show.
I can do about the show every day. There's nothing I can do. Yeah, like I, I would love to help out more.
I know that we are outnumbered, but I have a professional responsibility to the show. So, yeah.
Listen, I did all I could.
I made us work from home today.
I could have been gone an hour ago for the commute, but I stayed until 140.
Now it's, I got, I got to get to work.
Yeah.
And by the way, she has, you know, she's like been on the phone for her work.
So I've been tending to this and tending to that.
And then I'm like, you know what?
I got the show now.
So I could have done the studio.
And we have some stuff going on in the studio.
I was like, I might have to be in until 7 o'clock tonight.
that will not have flown well.
So the company, so I'm here.
Are they fumigating?
Are they fumigating?
Oh, the studio?
I would love to get an exterminator in.
That would be wonderful.
But, yeah, so I mean,
how would we not heard from an exterminator who wants to sponsor the show yet?
I mean, what are we doing?
It is, it's literally the best advert we can do.
I'm begging you.
I'm begging you.
Yes.
whoever is out there
if you know someone
who knows someone
with an exterminator
please get in touch
and you know what
I don't look
I'm not responsible
for selling our ads
we have a terrific
department here
but this this could be
one of those things
where we work out a deal
right
you know it's like
we scratch you
you scratch our back
we scratch yours
you kill our back
yeah
you kill our mice
we'll give you an organic
ad read on the air
it could very well
maybe that
By the way, though, how does it, before we're getting to the stock, how does the birthday feel?
We'll get into the birthday as this goes on, but did you, you know, did your kids make a big deal this morning?
You feel good about the birthday?
Kids, kids were very nice to me this morning.
Jane, who was usually, you know, mornings are tough for her.
Wild swings of emotion.
She was very sweet.
And then Casey came downstairs.
He had a present ready for me.
He's very excited for me to open it.
We'll open that tonight.
And then we had the kindergarten graduation.
So I got a good, I got a good crying this morning.
That's always good on your birthday.
Ah, very nice.
Very nice.
What specifically brought you to tears?
The whole thing.
Just the whole, the whole thing.
Okay, I didn't know if there was a speech or a ceremony or it's not something that
particularly triggered you.
No, it wasn't, you know, Newt Rockney up there.
It was just, you know, watching the kids.
Very nice.
Very nice.
Yeah.
And then had a good, had a good lunch with Rachel and Leah.
So we're, we're going to work.
We're happy, ready to go.
Okay.
I'm going to let you go.
Are we doing the, are we doing the budget?
No, no, no.
But we'll keep track.
And, you know, I look, if a sicko or a viewer wants to assign value to all these and, you know, measure kind of the appreciation of the stock.
Actually, you know what?
Let's, we're feeling.
Let's let's let's, let's have a $100 budget.
Okay.
And how do we work out the selling?
How do we work out the selling?
How do we work out the selling?
True.
Yeah.
And how do we work out like the appreciation and value too?
That's all right.
Maybe not the budget, but we'll weigh.
The compound interest, Zach.
Nothing better than that.
That's what I want for Father's Day.
All right.
Well, we'll just do.
We'll do the five and we'll figure it out.
But maybe tell me what you're as your, you know, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, what's your, I like that one.
Which one are you doubling down on?
Okay.
So, start us off.
So, the first.
And again, this is relative to the way they are thought of now, how they will look a year from now.
Yes.
So this one here is one that I think we can have interesting debate about.
And I read everyone's practice observations and reports.
And I think there might be a school of thought here that's different than your view on it.
Okay.
So the first one here is Johan Dotson.
The first one up in our, is it Stork Report?
Is that what we're calling it?
Or are we just saying stock?
Sure, why not?
Okay.
in our stork report.
Okay.
Do you want me to answer it or?
And you are buying Jahan Doss?
Oh, no, I thought we should work this out.
I thought we put the player out and then we both give whether we're buying or selling.
Is that not how that is not?
I thought it was like, okay, tell me someone who you feel strongly about that you were going to buy or sell.
Okay.
I will go.
But got you.
But that's okay.
Yeah.
So, okay.
So I am buying Jahan Dotson Stock.
Now, I'm maybe buying it at a call price, right?
Like, I'm not going up for.
So let's talk about, well, let's talk about where the stock is right now.
Because if you're buying Jahan Dotson stock, I think right now coming off the Super Bowl,
Jahan Dotson is thought of by most people in the Eagles orbit as a solid third receiver,
a player who they are expecting to have a bigger year than last year.
Yes, although the voted viewers of this show would.
know the data points about where he ranks in terms of yards per route run, right?
At the very bottom.
Yes.
And even when he was in Washington near the bottom.
So this is one that I think could be polarizing.
He did come on.
The markets have different prices for.
Yeah.
He did come on late in the postseason.
I was unimpressed with Chahan Dodson when A.J. Brown and DeV.
Vante Smith were out last year. I think that when you factor in a full offseason with the team,
the motivation of a contract year, my expectation that this team passes more, the expected mismatch that,
or I shouldn't say expected mismatch, the fact that he'll probably get the least amount of defensive attention on every play if the eagles are healthy.
and I like some of what I've seen this summer.
I think the way we discussed Jahan Dotson next offseason
will be different than the way he's thought of this offseason.
I don't expect him to be a Philadelphia Eagle next offseason.
But I think Jahan Dotson can work his way into a,
like a, say like an $8 million contract with some decent performance this offseason.
Some decent performance this season.
First of all, for a receiver his age,
That would be, I mean, that's a meager contract.
He might get close to that now.
You think so?
Let's put some parameters on this because for him to really exceed expectations,
he had 216 receiving yards last year.
I think the general consensus is that he's going to have a better year
and be a bigger part of the offense.
Are we talking like what constitutes success here?
600 yards receiving?
Is that way too ambitious for you?
Yeah, for a third receiver, when you have two, like, this is not,
this is not a Nelson Agalore situation where the ball is getting spread around so much.
So I wouldn't even say a 60 catch season is good.
I would say over, if I set the over under for you, at 30 receptions and 450 yards,
are you going over, under receptions and yards?
I'm going under on the yards.
I don't know if they're going to try to force feed him the ball, but yeah, I would probably go, I would probably go under on both.
Okay.
Listen, I did not want to be a negative Nelly in this exercise.
I have way more buys than sells, but he is a sell to me because I think there is the general expectation that he is going to be a bigger player in the offense.
And I just don't think that he has ever proven that he can do that.
and I think it is more likely that next off season
the conversation about Jahan Dotson is
man I can't believe how we got away with another stinker
like you know, maybe the Eagles won a Super Bowl again
and you know still they give up a third round pick for nothing.
I am
I'm relatively bearish on what Johan Dotson will get to the offense.
That's a good good one for the audience to monitor.
Yeah.
I mean, listen, I've been wrong a lot.
Certainly possible.
Not that often, though.
I was about to say, not that much, yes.
5% of the time.
We do a show every day when it would be wrong a little bit, but not a lot.
Who's counting?
I mean, this is always...
Price off might be one of them.
This is the...
This you go back to Shield's advice that put things out there.
No one remembers when you're wrong, but you can always tout when you're right.
So there we go.
All right.
So do you want me to do, do you want me to propose the one and you decide?
Yeah.
I want you to propose the way that you.
Yeah.
And then you say whether you're buying or selling and I'll say whether I'm with you on it or whether I'm taking the other side.
Okay.
So we'll do it.
Yeah.
We'll do it the way that you were thinking of it.
Well, you brought them up.
And so I want to, I want to take your temperature here.
And I do have an expectation as to what it will be.
I don't think that this is, this is not a stock that's going to rise or fall a ton.
but where are you on Devante Smith?
You bought him, let's say you bought him last summer.
You took a little bit of a bath.
Are you doubling down on Devante Smith?
Yes, off season ahead of this year.
Yes.
So to change the stock analogy, this is one with the blackjack table, okay?
And you have that.
We love mixing metaphors, no doubt about it.
Sure, sure.
You know, you have the $10 chip on the table and you lose.
and you know what you do in the next hand?
You put down two $10 chips there.
You're like, I'm going to win it all back on this hand.
That's how I feel about Devante Smith this year.
Buy, buy, buy.
Is this your pick to clip?
Not goodbye.
Yeah.
I feel strong about the Devante Smith stock.
Now you ask me, I think you were supposed to go first year.
But I am, I am.
bullish on Devante Smith entering this season.
I have my trusted game notes right here.
Okay.
And this is a game, by the way, where he caught an outstanding touchdown,
one of the third best catches of his career.
But when you look at Devante Smith's production,
it was a drop off in every category last year, right?
And the injury had a lot to do with it, of course.
The way the Eagles played offense had a lot to do with it.
but he had his fewest receptions, fewest yards, fewest yards per reception.
The only thing that went up last year were the touchdowns.
So I think that Devante Smith is back over 1,000 yards.
I think Devante Smith is going to lead the Eagles in receptions again.
And, yeah, I'm going with a big year for Devante Smith.
I'm with you.
I don't know that I,
the problem is,
I mean,
they still have AJ Brown.
And AJ Brown is better.
Like,
AJ Brown is unbelievable.
He is a superstar,
a superstar,
probably the best receiver
that we will ever see in Philadelphia.
But Devante Smith is awesome.
And I do think,
I do think he's going to remind people of that this year.
I think,
you know,
he had just under 1,200 yards.
in 2022. That's his career high, 1196. I'd like to see him break that. I'd like to see him
set a career high in receiving yards this year. And I kind of think the, the bump that people
are expecting from Jahan Dotson is just going to go to Devante Smith. Like, he's going to get,
he's going to make up those yards. And I think, I do, I believe in Devante. I'm curious,
our friend Josh Norris, who does a terrific job at Underdog.
I'm curious where Devante Smith is going in fantasy drafts relative to last year.
My guess is that Devante's stock lays down in fantasy drafts.
And I think you're going to find good value in fantasy football with Devante Smith.
There you go.
All right, Zach, before we get to you, let's take a quick break.
And then we'll find out who's next on your ticker tape.
Docket.

So I'm next up here.
I'm trying to figure out which direction to go because I have,
I have, I'm going to go with an interesting talker for you here.
Okay.
This is, this is, this is, this is, this is one that that's going to be fun.
Zach Bond.
Okay.
I'm selling some, I'm selling some of my Zach Bond stock.
And I'm not sure everyone's selling this because there is a, there is this thought that,
that was his first year playing off ball linebacker.
Now, you know, he gets this full year behind him.
He's going to be even better.
He, he plays, he'll, he'll play with you hot Campbell.
They can use them different ways.
And I think Zach Bond's going to have a good year.
I think it's hard to have the year that he had last year.
Last year was a historic and historic year at that position for the Eagles.
And it's similar to my Sequin Barclay conversation.
I just wonder if the Zach Bond stock is too high.
This guy was literally a defensive player of the year candidate, right?
And so it's going to be hard from my perspective to have the same type of
Because the other thing, too, is it wasn't just the consistency with which he played.
It was the splash plays, the game-changing plays, forced fumbles, interceptions.
There's variance with those types of plays.
And so I'm probably saying, you know what, Zach Bond is priced, that that stocks priced a little too high right now.
Or it's probably, you know, it's priced appropriately.
I don't see the value shopping here.
So what I'm going to do is I'm going to sell my Zach Bond stock.
and maybe this time next year, I'm going to get back on to it.
So that's that's that's that's my Zach Bonn approach.
So I mean, it would be hard, it would be hard for Zach Bonn to, you know, for his stock to rise too much higher.
So I think I think you were right fundamentally.
But I think of there are several players from last year who are at that, what you would think is the apex of their value, right?
Sequin, Zach Bonn.
maybe Quinyon Mitchell.
You could talk about Jalen Carter.
I think we would probably both buy Jalen Carter stock.
Yes.
But the guys who had their like outlier best seasons ever.
Of those guys, I think I am more willing to hold on Zach Bonn than some of the others.
I am willing to believe that he could have a little bit more to his game and that he proves to be the fulcrum of the defense.
You know, it's possible that his stock rises in like,
he doesn't match the numbers,
but he misses two games
and the defense collapses without him.
Good point.
Something like that,
and you realize just how valuable he is.
I believe that he is very important
to how good this defense is.
And so I will, you know,
more than some of those other sky high guys,
I would be willing to hold on Zach Bonn, I think.
The, I hear what you're saying there.
When I look at the regular season numbers,
and he was awesome in the postseason too, right?
But I look at,
at the regular season numbers where he had 150 tackles,
five forced fumbles, four past deflections,
or past his defended,
three and a half sacks and one fumbled recovery.
Okay.
The number that I actually think can rise some is the sacks or are the sacks.
He had two sacks in the season opener against Green Bay, right?
And then he has one and a half thereafter for the rest of the season,
the Baltimore game and the Carolina game.
It wouldn't surprise me,
especially given that the Eagles are still trying to figure things out on the edge.
If they are creative with the way they use Zach Bond and Jahan and Jahad Campbell as blitzers and or as as pass rushers,
and I can potentially see Zach Vaughn being in that five-sack territory, in which case, you know, you might want to buy or hold.
I just think that the value is so high relative to last year.
I think last night I talked myself into the opinion that I think,
I think they're better off with him
just playing middle linebacker.
And then that's like part of the reason
for drafting Jahad Campbell is that he can do
some of that flexible stuff on the edge
because Zach Bonn is that good in the middle.
Agreed.
Agreed.
All right,
I would give you another sky high one,
and I mentioned him there.
And I'm curious what you think of Quinyon Mitchell
in this front,
a player who's coming off a rookie of the year caliber season.
Do you expect that, you know, he moves to the left side, no Darius Slay?
He is still a lockdown corner.
He's somewhere even better.
Maybe he gets some interception luck.
Or do you expect a bit of a come down from Quinnion, Mitchell?
And holding's not an option here, right?
We're buying or selling.
You can hold, yeah.
Yeah, I'm probably holding maybe a slight sell.
I think he was really good last year.
I think that he'll probably be comparable this year than what he was last year.
I think the interception totals should tick up, right?
I mean, he's around the ball so much.
He's so many near interceptions.
You've got to think he's going to finish those plays.
Darius Slay had the anecdote last year that your first year, those interceptions are harder to come by.
He saw with Cooper the Gene, too, right?
And then you kind of have a better idea as your career goes on.
I think coverage, I don't know if he'll be as sticky, right?
There's more of a book on him now than there was a year ago.
They're without Slay in there.
He's seeing every week he'll probably see the team's top receiver.
So I'm going with a hold to a slight sell.
Yeah, this is the one where sort of the way that you framed Bonn.
I would like to sell Quigionan Mitchell for this season
and then pre-buy his stock again next season.
I expect just a little bit of regression this year
as opposing offenses have a better understanding of him,
have a better book on him.
I also think we expect the general quality of the secondary
to come down a little bit.
And I think that that will be reflected on him as well,
whether that is all his fault or not.
I think he will be the close,
this guy in coverage on some, some bigger plays.
And I just think there's general regression from him starting so fast.
And it's a position where it is hard to maintain that level.
You know, you see a guy like Sauce Gardner who has an unbelievable rookie year,
there's a little bit of a come down, and then he sort of finds his level.
I think that's the kind of thing that we might be seeing with Quigna.
Well said.
Okay.
So I'll jump in here.
And I was going to go with Lane John.
But I thought we did a lot of Lane Johnson conversation last night.
And I wanted to kind of give a player that we haven't really discussed as much.
And that's Jordan Maillada.
And I'm going with Jordan Milata.
Okay.
Buy.
And the reason I'm buying Jordan Milata is he was of the four entrenched offensive linemen, right?
He was the only one that didn't make the Pro Bowl last year.
And we discussed it at the time.
He's a respected player in the league, but that position where you have Lane Johnson, you have, you know, you have Penny Sewell, you have, you have Tristan Worf's.
It's hard to crack offensive tackle, okay?
I think my lot is going to continue to get better.
We've seen that.
I don't think there's a leveling off here.
I think that the continuity, of course, with Landj Dickerson, which you saw.
the benefit of that last year.
But I just think, I think it's going to be another step to Jordan Miletus game
where, you know, not to make pro football focus, the end-all be-all,
but you see the way that he grades out.
I think that this could be the year when Jordan Milata is viewed as an elite left tackle
in this league.
Okay.
I could, I could see that.
Now he's got to, he's got to stay healthy.
Yes.
Five games last year.
That's a big deal.
You lost me with the pro football focus stuff.
Obviously, that doesn't matter at all.
But I am if forced to pick one or the other, I suppose that I would buy coming off of last year.
You know, we talked yesterday about that, you know, the sliding scales of how good you are athletically with how much you know what's going on.
And when can you find that perfect matching of the two?
you know he's going into his 28 year old season this is generally when you would expect that to be
the case for an offensive lineman so if if forced to buy or sell i guess i would i would agree that i
would buy here uh i i i know you don't frequent twitter or x um as much as i do uh so there was actually
one that i that i i i bookmarked here that i wanted to read because i i actually thought it was a
a cogent point that I need to apply to the way I cover the team, right?
I'm always looking for different data points.
We talk about that.
And PFF can be a data point, right, that you look at.
But I thought this was a really interesting framing from Aaron Nagler,
who is involved in Packers coverage.
And he said, I'm going to read this to you.
He said, imagine being a beat reporter referencing PFF articles and or grades.
You don't cover the league.
You cover one team, yet here you are referencing content from an army of people that don't have any of the context that you have.
Watch the film.
It's one game a week.
Do the work.
And I think the interesting framing there is it's, it's, I think PFF can be especially beneficial for me preparing for the team that the Eagles are playing on a given week, right?
Like I don't have the same.
And Fran, now, Fran's notes are the best thing for that, right?
But I don't have the same context that I'm not watching everything.
team every week, right? But, but, but I, I think it's, it was really smart point for the team.
I, I, I, I cover in that, like, there's, there's so much that goes into it that I would probably
trust the context that I have when I watch the game back more so than what the, the,
than the third party, if you will, because there's, there's insight that I probably have to
the team and to the player that, that could be beneficial. Yeah, I mean, that's, that, that,
particular take is a little bit preachy, and not everybody's job is the same.
And maybe you don't think that you're able to watch film and correctly contextualize it.
But we don't need to really get PFF.
The raw data is useful.
The grades are trash.
That's it.
That's all you need to know.
Like, tell me where guys lined up, what kind of stuff.
But any, that subjective stuff is worthless, and it should be treated as such.
Okay.
Okay, we'll say that for another day.
Yeah, okay.
Who's yours?
That's the truth.
That's the truth.
Here's my question for you, Zach.
Of the, of the, all of the picks made by their eagles after Ty Robinson.
So Drew Kendall, Mack McWilliams, Kyle McCord, Antoine Powell, Rilandand, Cameron Williams, Miles Hinton.
Did I miss anybody?
That was it, right?
Six.
Of those, whose stock would you buy?
for a year from now for a year from now so not who's going to have the best year this year but who's
actually that's probably i think yeah that's the same whose stock are you buying of those players i think
mac mac williams probably has the oh smile mondan i forgot smile monday yes yeah puts a smile on my face
i am i'll probably say mac mac williams because i i think mac mc williams is is is going to get playing
time is going to have a role, whether it's defense special teams. I guess Smile,
Mondin is a good one there too. But Smile Mondin, when Nkobi's back, I think is like your fourth
or fifth linebacker, right? Mack McWilliams, if he enters the season as your fourth corner,
your fourth corner, your fourth corner. I mean, think last year, Keely Ringo was your fourth
corner and Kele Ringo played. So I think of those players, Mack McWilliams has the best chance to play. I
I think he's going to have a role on special teams.
I think I don't know if Mack McWilliams' ceiling is the same as or is the highest on those six players there or seven players.
But I think I would go with Mack McWilliams in terms of whose stock is highest at this point next year relative to this year.
Zach will surprise you to know that I agree with you.
I agree that it would surprise me.
Well, you know, now that he's going to be.
the fifth corner because there's a Doree, Keeley, Quigion, and Coburn Degene, but he's going to probably,
I'm guessing, be the backup nickel. So that's a path to getting on the field right away. And I wouldn't
be shocked if he eventually overtakes Adory Jackson or if it's worst case scenario and Keele Ringo
disappoints this summer, then Mac McWilliams might be fighting to be the third outside corner
that way too. And subjectively, based on just a couple of snapshots,
I like the way he moves.
I like the few things that I've seen from him.
I like that Vic is already putting him inside and outside and testing him that way.
I think that is indicative of something.
And so, yeah, I would buy Mack McWilliam stock right now.
Yeah, so I appreciate the correction there because when I was thinking fourth quarter,
I was thinking outside, but I should probably consider Cooper the Gene and outside if test is, if depth is tested.
I was thinking about they lose Darius Slay and Isaiah Rogers.
Okay.
They add Adoree Jackson and Matt McWilliam.
So I kind of viewed it like the fourth in that pecking order.
But yeah, you're right.
Cooper the Gene would be higher up there.
All right.
Give us your next one.
My next one here.
This is an interesting one because this is one where there are,
if you bought this stock last year, it might have been a penny stock.
and you made a killing on it.
And then you're at a point now where you say,
you know what?
There's the old stock market advice
that it's better a year early than a day late.
Okay, that's a famous expression.
That maybe you're just happy with,
you're happy with your returns.
And even, but then you also say,
you don't want to be the guy who sold Apple at 20.
And then you look back.
back, you know, and then you look back and you're like, oh, my goodness, I could have, you know, could have paid off the car loaners or whatever it may be.
So in that case, you're going to have to build that time machine that you want.
Morrow Ojamot.
Morrow Ojimo, the stock went up last year, but it's not yet a blue chip stock, right?
it's kind of you know it's it's a mid it's a midcap stock now it's not it's no longer a penny stock
what are you doing here are you buying are you selling are you simply holding what you already
own this is one where you have to consider like the context of you're not you're not buying or
selling based on what he did last year you're buying or selling based on how he's viewed right now
which is i think by most people as a pretty close to like good replacement for milton
Williams. Like, I think people are expecting him to play at close to a Milton Williams level.
And if that's the expectation and that's what we're pricing in, I would sell. I like Morrow
Ojamow a lot. And I think that they are better, I think he will be a better replacement for what
they've lost than probably any of the other big players who left. But I think it's a little
bit disrespectful to Milton Williams and how good he was to think that that Morrow
was going to provide that fully.
I think more will be better than he was last year.
And so if you're playing the game of, you know,
I'm hemming and honing a little bit,
but if you're playing the game of relative to last year,
yes, I think he will be better than last year,
beyond just the more snaps and the more opportunity.
I think he will play better.
But I don't think he will quite get to the Milton Williams level.
I'm Howie Roseman, and I'm on the bus with you.
All right.
I told you.
Get off the field.
It's my house.
You have to talk to Desha?
And you're Vic Fangio.
And I'm sitting in front of you on a bus.
Look, it's presumptuous to say the Super Bowl.
Let's say after a playoff game this year, okay?
And I turn to you and I say, Vic, we have these two defensive tackles.
Jordan Davis, Moro-Ojimo, they're both entering the final years of their contract.
I want to extend one this offseason.
Which one should I extend?
Who would you go with?
Morrow.
So interesting.
Do you think Morrow is more likely to be extended by the Eagles than Jordan Davis?
No.
No, I think Jordan Davis is more likely.
Because of the draft pedigree and the traits or because the investment, because of the price?
Yeah, I think they think that the traits themselves are harder to replace.
Sure.
Sure.
Yeah.
I am
I'm probably slightly selling
the Morrow stock.
I think Morrow's going to be good.
I wouldn't.
I think that if he's
it's taken six years of working with you
to finally use this,
to finally pronounce this correctly,
facsimile,
okay?
For a long time,
birds with friends viewers,
you know that I once had face smile
and I got a face laughed at for that.
So if he could be a facsimile of what he was a year ago,
I think that's acceptable.
I think the fact that we know the Eagles were interested in Walter Nolan.
We know that, like, you know, Ty Robinson's a guy that they like.
I don't think they're viewing more as like this end-all be-all at that position.
I think you're right.
No.
I think we talked about Jaleks Hunt on yesterday's show,
so I don't want to go too deep on him.
I think we both kind of agree.
Everybody's expecting a big year.
I think he might deliver on that.
I think he would be someone that you would consider buying.
I want to check in on Jahad Campbell.
How do you feel about that, Zach?
Because it's an interesting one because you're thinking right now
that this guy's expected to be an impact player whenever he's healthy.
You know, the egos try to trade up to 22 to get him.
and they got him at 30, and Vicks got a plan for him.
But, you know, what if it's a very difficult position to, if he's playing longbacker,
to make an impact right away as a rookie, he's dealing with this injury that could linger?
Is there a chance that realistically, a year from now, we will think, you know what,
that was kind of a disappointing season for Jihad Campbell, and his stock has dropped just a little bit?
I don't think so.
I think Jehad Campbell functioning within this defense,
I think he's going to play early.
He's going to play often.
And I think he's going to be a factor for the Eagles.
Now, is he, he's not Zach Bond, if that's the expectation, right?
It's not Michael Parsons this rookie year, if that's the expectation.
But I think that I think he's going to be a consistent starter.
I don't think he's going to be one of these guys like,
after Jordan Davis's rookie year,
we were probably saying,
it just takes time.
I don't think we're going to be saying that with Jihad Campbell.
I think Jihad Campbell is going to be a productive player early on.
So do you think you would,
you would buy significantly or you would buy?
I would buy slightly.
So here,
I pulled up defensive rookie of the year odds,
okay?
So on this list here,
would you say this player is going to have a better or worse year than Jihad Campbell?
Okay.
So let's disregard the odds itself.
Let's just talk about the players who are ranked ahead of him.
Abdul Carter Giants.
Better.
Yes.
Travis Hunter, Jaguars.
Better.
Janwin Walker Falcons, third on this list.
I'm going to trust Fran and say no.
Mike L. Williams, 49ers.
Yes.
This one surprised me.
Mike Green, Ravens.
I guess that position.
You know, Ravens pop, yeah, I will say no.
Okay.
Shemar Stort Bengals, I mean, he's not practicing right now.
Yeah.
Mason Graham Browns.
No.
Okay.
So now there, so we would have Jehad Campbell ahead of four players ranked ahead of him.
Now, that said, Mason Graham probably should have a better.
Yeah, I mean.
So there are guys ranked behind him who I actually would like, like, I think Malachi Stark is really going to pop in Baltimore.
this year. I mean, me personally, I think James Pierce Jr. is kind of a good year with Atlanta.
He's actually the same odds as Jahad Campbell. Today, Barron is after him, Donovan Azaraku.
I would go Campbell over Azaraku. Walter Nolan is down there, J.T. 2Malalulu. But yeah,
it's an interesting conversation that he's ranked 8th or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
Yeah, eight.
And some of that is positional value.
Like there's a reason that the defensive tackles are lower because it's hard for them to accumulate the stats.
Like Walter Nolan is lower, Mason Graham's lower than he should be.
But yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
Let's take a quick break.
One more time.
And then we'll come back with our last buys and sells.
Well, you know about the Hall of Fame app?
The HOF app.
We've all been there.
You got to parlay.
Ooh, it's cooking.
Ooh, you've hit like four of the five legs.
But then a relief pitcher gives up a walk-off bomb in the ninth inning.
Awful.
Well, the HOF app is built to fix that.
Started by two lifelong sports fans who also happened to be Ivy League grads.
So Zach will tell you that means they're smart.
HOF makes parlay research smarter, faster, and data-driven.
This is not your buddy's group chat full of gibrones and hot takes.
It's a full analytics engine.
The HOF app gives you access to advanced stats.
No subjective PFF grades.
Get that Garbozo beans nonsense out of here.
No, historical data, powerful tools, hard math.
That you bet smart.
You'll get an idea of your parlay's chances to hit
and identify weak legs so you can weed them out before you place them.

Made it back just in time.
All right.
One last one you got, Zach.
We've just got one more.
Who are you going to go for?
You could told me to stretch that ad read out if you needed a break.
But we're all getting older here.
Took a quick pee.
Sorry, potential spam.
You get those potential spam calls a lot.
I don't follow.
You know, I appreciate the phone.
For whatever reason, a little bit less over the past month or so, I feel.
I appreciate the phone identifying the potential spam, right?
That's like they, I kind of have a little bit of respect for the people who get around the potential spam, the spam that's not identified as potential spam.
So anyways, so the next one on my list here, I can go Tyler Steen.
Tyler Steen's an interesting one here.
And despite what I wrote today on all p.hly.com, despite what I said yesterday,
I'm selling
But you can read up your diehard
Yes, but you can read if you're die hard
I'm selling Tyler Steen
I still think Tyler Steen
is
Most likely to be the starting
Offensively
The starting right guard this year
I thought that
Last year
He had an opportunity
He had a chance to win the job
I thought two years ago
He had a chance to win the job
Every year
I shouldn't say every year
Last year and this year
I hear he's getting bigger
He understands it
I think if they wanted Tyler Steen to be the starter, he would have been the starter before.
And so I am, yeah, I guess based on what I saw, I'm not buying Kenyon Green.
I certainly don't think it's going to be met prior, but I don't think at the end of next year,
look, Tyler Steen has two years left on his contract.
I don't think Tyler Steen is going to go into next summer as the starting right guard.
So if Tyler Steen is the starter this year, I think he is eventually, I think he's replaced this time next year.
Maybe I'm wrong.
We'll see.
I think that's a pretty reasonable position because you're thinking about where he is right now.
He's considered the likely starter.
So even if he is the starter for the season, but it's disappointing, you know, that's losing the stock.
I just, I don't think it's a stock that's worth that much right now, right?
And so I think you could, if you were going to bet, I don't think you're going to lose all that much money, even if it's a worst case scenario when he loses the job.
Whereas I think there's more, there's more upside on the positive end to like, if he is just a, an average starting right guard, I think that would be a bit of a boon for you in the market.
So if you're like, if you're pricing out the possible outcomes, I think I would be more willing to buy.
But I agree with you about what I think is the likeliest outcome.
Yeah.
And this is one where you probably sit out.
There was this, there's this wonderful investor.
You might have heard of him.
His name's Warren Buffett.
Okay.
And Warren Buffett, he spoke about like he was given the comparison to being up at, you know, stock market to this was I thinking of.
shareholder letter maybe 96 or so. And he was saying that you don't have to swing at every
pitch, right? Like that's the difference between this and the baseball analogy. So the key in
investing is just to stay until you find the pitch that you want. It's not like there's a
strike three or ball four, right? You can just wait for the one. That's the ideal one. So in the game
that we're doing, this is probably one where I say, you know what? I don't want to buy that
stock, right? I don't own it right now, so I'm not selling it. I'm just going to sit that one out.
Or we could just get rid of capitalism entirely.
I mean, you and I will disagree on that. I actually think, well, we'll avoid that conversation.
Yeah, we'll avoid that conversation.
I'm going to throw my last one out at you, Zach.
Okay.
Nicobi Dean.
So right now, Nicobi Dean is considered, he might not even.
him play this year. That's possible.
And it's the final year of his
rookie deal. A year
ago, he was not thought of super highly either.
He was not even considered a starter.
And by the middle of last
season, boy, did you make a killing
on buying Nikobie Dean stock.
He was playing at a very high level.
Coming off the microfracture surgery,
the next and a long
line of injuries for him, is there
a chance that he gets back to that level
of play? Is there
room for him and Zach Bonn and Jihad
Campbell to be on the field at the same time?
Or is it more likely that he's just heading off into pasture this offseason and going to a different team?
Yeah, I think it's the latter is I'm probably, you know, whatever stock I have with with McCopee right now,
and this was a fun stock to buy last year.
I am probably selling what I own of it and then I'm going to buy it back next year at a lower price going into its next.
team.
DeKobey Dean has the intangibles that I want to bet on.
And again, I can't tell you physically how he's going to look post-injury here.
But I don't know if it's going to be in Philly.
Right.
I mean, I think that Kobe's best opportunity is probably to latch on somewhere else because I just don't think at the end of this season, it makes sense to bring him back when you took Jahad Campbell.
If Jahad Campbell is an edge rusher for you, that's fine.
but even still, you know, they paid Zach Bond $17 million a year, right?
They just drafted Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the fifth round.
Smile Mondin Jr. in the fifth round.
Are you giving a contract extension to Nicopi Dean?
It's hard for me to see it.
So you hate it because he was playing well and like he's wired the right way.
And it was just such a devastating injury.
But the Campbell traffic in particular, I just don't see the long-term
future here in Philly for NCOBE.
But do you think there's a chance that he plays when he gets on the field this season to a
level where he actually has a reasonable market in the free agency?
I just think it's going to take time, right?
Like maybe the end of the year, he has a few games there.
And there's a, you know, there are a few stories about we're starting to see the real
Nicopa Dean.
But that's a, that's a brutal injury.
We got to remember the injury occurred in January.
All right.
This is, this is, January injuries are tough, right?
I mean, Sydney Brown had a January ACL injury, which is not, you know, which is considered,
um, less significant.
I mean, they're all significant, but less significant than what Nicopa Dean dealt with.
And Sydney Brown wasn't quite himself all year last year, it seemed like, right?
Like he, he didn't quite get back to trusting himself, uh, until, you know, a point mid or
or later through the year.
So I have a hard time seeing Nicola.
being what they need him to be.
Okay.
And look,
Nikobi,
if you're watching right now,
like prove me wrong.
Prove me wrong.
It's,
it's,
I don't like selling this many stocks here,
but I'm just trying to be honest.
And I tried to pick,
I tried to pick players that I thought were,
or like polarizing.
Like there's,
there's a lot of stock that I would buy right now.
But,
but this is,
these are guys that at that.
Miles Inton, for instance.
I would probably, yeah,
not.
Well, it depends on the injury yesterday, right?
But we'll see.
We'll see.
Super chat from CDP, Zach, who says,
Peckness, migrate.
Adam Peters, Adam Schaefter, Adam Smith.
Sorry, can you just, who's Adam Smith?
I mean, the founder of economics.
The founder of economics, Adam Smith?
The Invisible Hand?
Isn't that Adam Smith?
Oh, the Scottish.
Okay.
Yeah.
Sorry, I should have known this.
I mean, I don't know enough about it.
He's playing off of your pro-capitalism is what is the...
Yeah, I...
Yeah.
In my defense, he passed away in 1790 before my time.
I don't know.
Sorry about this.
I'm embarrassed.
I'm going to go with...
So you're going to migrate him because he's already been dead?
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm definitely nesting Adam Schaefter and I'm pecking, I guess, Adam Peters in this case.
I don't know enough about Adam Smith.
I don't know if that in the announcement of your nesting with Adam Schaefter,
which agency will get credit for finalizing the deal?
Athletes first.
Yeah.
Okay.
Ha, ha, ha.
Am I love to sneak one wild card in for you?
Or I know he was super chast.
I just want your view on one real quick.
Kevin Patole.
Are you buying or selling your Kevin Ptoll?
That's a good one.
I think I would buy because I think he's being thought of as the Brian Johnson equivalent, right?
Where it's the guy, the in-house replacement coming off a Super Bowl, you're probably expecting it to be a bit of a comeback.
And I think they have a realistic chance of doing some things better on offense.
than they did last year.
And I think the offense over the course of the season last year
probably underperformed its talent.
Not when it mattered,
but on the aggregate,
I think that's fair to say.
And so, yeah,
I think there's a chance that they could be better this season.
Yeah.
Now,
if they have a good year,
see a head coach somewhere next year?
I mean,
I guess that's the precedent, right?
That's the end.
Yeah.
Yeah, Jowen's, uh,
John will be like seven
new plate coach
I'm not counting but
I'll play that up
yeah that's very funny
all right we got a couple
super chats to get to
before we get out of here
but we got to do it in
overtime
Joe Rockhead
with the super chat for his
he says with the loss of Ed Snyder
there seems to be a void with
ownership with the Lurrie donation
does this now fill their void
thought I say yes
there seems to be a void with ownership
the lorry donation does this now
with the loss of Ed Snyder there seems to be a void
with ownership so
the Flyers ownership
I'm trying to
I'm not such sure I understand it either
is he talking specifically about shop
yeah that's what I'm not sure on
I'm trying to I'm trying to better understand the question
Joe if you can just
if you just add in
in a non-super chat Joe
explain
Explain what you mean more and we'll get back to it.
Claire, Zach also has a super chat for you.
She wants you to pick this, migrate.
This is no fun.
Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg.
She did this to me before.
I mean, I'm not the, you know, I have a pretty good memory.
I'm not the smartest.
I'm not the pretty good memory.
I have a pretty good memory.
So, yeah, I'm going to stay.
Just migrate at all time.
Well, I'm going to stay away from this one here.
I mean, yeah, I'm going to say there's, there's,
I know who I would migrate on that list, but I'm going to stay away from this one overall.
Okay.
All right.
Let's see if Joe Rockett has followed up here.
Yeah.
I don't know.
All right.
What else is going on, Zach?
No, I'm doing well.
Yeah, I was on Anthony's show this morning, posted a story.
Got the Phillies game here in the corner.
Big, I'm curious.
I actually did want to ask you this, okay?
Jesus Lazzardo comes back.
Big game today.
It's a former pitcher.
And I don't ask this in a patronizing way.
I ask this in like an honest way.
Don't take it in a patronizing way.
Okay.
I love baseball, but I'm not a pitcher.
All right.
So, Jesus, Lazzardo, I imagine those who are watching understand the context.
I'll give you the quick context.
It was awesome this year.
Howard had had been awesome.
And then he had two.
games that were like beyond dreadful.
I mean, we're talking 12 earned runs and like just the worst types of performances
you can imagine from a starting pitcher.
And it was kind of determined that they think he was tipping pitches.
And so this was a big start.
This was supposed to be a big start today.
And he's been terrific today, right?
I mean, the last I checked, I don't have the box score in front of me.
But he had 10Ks through six innings.
You know, the Cubs who have a really good offense, Phillies are up 6-1 right now and top
the seventh.
Tipping pitches, like, is it easy to, or how do you identify it?
How do you fix it?
I'm just, is this something you ever dealt with or at that age, our, are batters?
Yeah, I mean, this is more of, this is more of an advanced thing.
You know, it's not like you have advanced scouts in high school.
However, there is a time when one of my most proud moments of high school baseball was
when I decoded the, like, the signs, you know, the, the, the coach on the other team of one of our
rivals was, was calling the game for the pitcher, not the catcher, calling the game from the
bench. And I decode, I mean, it was very easy to, I'm not, I like, I like a little cryptology
used to do the cryptic quote on that thing. It's fun, it's fun. That's a fun stuff. So, so I was able to
then give our hitters, give them a heads up of what pitch was coming. So that was fun. So I wasn't
the pitcher, I would never, I would, I would never be called with my pants down like that.
Yeah.
But it's fun to go, it's fun to be the one who figures it out.
Now, I, I, I was watching the Giants Rockies game last night.
And at the beginning of, I think it was like the third or fourth inning, Kyle Harrison, like the first pitcher, there was, they thought there was going to be a pitch clock violation.
It, it wasn't, uh, because the communication wasn't working.
Would you like that or do, or do you like the old school catcher?
giving you the sign. I'm sorry. I missed he just, he's sorry. What happened? No. So it wasn't a pitch clock
by the thought it was going to be a violation. Yeah, but the reason he didn't pitch is because the
communication wasn't working. You know how they wear the thing in their ear. Oh, the pitchcom wasn't working. Yeah.
Yeah, exactly. Sorry. I didn't explain that well. The pitchcom wasn't working. So would you like that or would
you rather the old school way where the catcher is giving you one finger? I mean, I've never, I've never had to, I've never
gotten to actually do the pitchcom, so it's hard to say.
But yeah, I mean, I'm romantic about, you know, calling the game myself.
And did you call your own game or did you trust the catcher?
It would take a lot for the catcher to earn my trust.
Yeah, that doesn't.
By the end, by the end, Ronnie Reynolds was, I trusted him.
He could call it.
But I'm going to shake him off, but, you know, I'll follow where he leads.
Okay.
Okay.
I'm fascinated by that.
Yeah, another super chat from Callum.
who says ZB, if you had to learn an instrument,
which would you rather learn?
A guitar with a broken string
or a piano missing two keys
or a rusty trombone?
A piano missing two keys, right?
First off, I have a little bit of experience with piano.
So I can, I think I can navigate it.
There's what, 88 keys on a piano, is that correct?
So if you're missing two keys, you still have 80 keys at your disposal.
A guitar with a broken string.
How many?
There's, there are what, five strings on a guitar, four strings on a guitar?
So percentage-wise, you're just affected a little bit more.
And then I see in the chat, do not discuss the last one here.
I don't know what that means, the trombone one.
So I'm going to stay away from that one.
Thank you.
I think you avoided that landmine deeply.
Nicely, talk.
Uh, birthday plans. What do you got tonight? Anything good?
Oh, we got the final of, uh, very nice.
Look at that. Happy birthday. We, we're not in studio, but, you know, I, I, I just want to say,
Julia, an amazing producer. Oh, well, she's more than a producer and more than a friend. She's
head of production, okay? Amazing head of production. Um, you know, we, we had some, some stuff plans.
So kind of keep your head on a swivel because maybe it'll pop up it at another time. But,
I should tell the audience,
originally the plan was not to do this via stream yard.
But there's some stuff going on in our studio today.
That's true.
Yes.
Yeah, I'm dinner with the family at home.
I've got a big championship game in our Pokemon tournament.
We've got Armourge against Arcanon,
big upset in the semi.
So it should be a fun matchup.
Good luck tonight.
Which team are you?
I will probably be Armourge.
night.
Gotcha.
Okay.
Yeah.
Just for the record, Joe,
on that other super chat,
circled back to say just that there had been a void of,
like, public donations
from the Philadelphia-based
ownership groups.
And things like that has fixed.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, I was reading the inquirer's story
about Jeffrey Luror's
donation, and it said that
he searched like around,
He searched around the world, Europe, around the country, for the best place to allocate these resources.
And he decided that chop and pen medicine was the place to turn.
So I think that's awesome.
We're lucky to live in a city that has a world-class medical system.
It's not something to take for granted.
That's it.
All right.
That'll do it.
Thank you very much, Zach.
Thank you very much, Julia.
We will talk to you tomorrow, 2 o'clock.
We got the Duffman coming in studio.
We're going to have a duff mate on Friday as well for the big Super Bowl draft.
We're going to do a little look ahead before the show tomorrow.
So it'll be fun.
None of your business on that front.
For Zach and Julia, I'm Bo, we thank you for listening and watching.
Happy birthday, of course, to Bo Wolf.
And as always, we look.
