Starting point is 00:00:11 the PHLY Eagles podcast. Steam it Tuesday afternoon. But we'll, Zach Berman, typing out the show tweet. How you doing, Zach? I'm doing great. How about this for, for, uh,
Starting point is 00:00:22 summer news for you? Okay, let's hear it. Dom DeSandro, it has a sock collection coming out. I saw that. This is old news at this point. Oh, okay. Well, I think it was announced yesterday
Starting point is 00:00:34 by People Magazine. I didn't read People Magazine. I think I saw it on Instagram over the weekend. Ah, okay. It was, but we didn't discuss it on Monday show. So I just thought that you didn't think it rose to the level of news. I mean, good for Dom.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Capitalized. I feel like Dom has not cashed in even as much as he could. No, I agree with that. I agree with that. Must be a tough vetting process for him to pick, you know, what to say yes to.
Starting point is 00:00:58 True. But, you know, so they showed his, his office. Okay. In the. You and you are studying that thing. I'm looking for any kind of clue. I study. Any little nothing you can get.
Starting point is 00:01:10 Yeah. I study all. photos. You always try to sure. So he's got a good sign up there. One of the great Zach reportingisms is studying the office. Tell me about your office. Tell me why this is here. Tell me why this is here. Oh it's because
Starting point is 00:01:25 it reveals a lot about people. What did you learn about Dom? So in the office right behind his desk he has a sign and this sums up Dom. Let me drop everything and work on your problems. And then he has a lot of other
Starting point is 00:01:41 things that we can discuss it at another point here. A signed picture from Nick Siriani in his office. I'm curious, that's from the Godfather, but I'm curious. How did you know that? Did you know that it was from the Godfather? Did you recognize it was in the Godfather? Yeah, yeah, I recognized from the Godfather.
Starting point is 00:01:56 A big magazine cover with Jason Peters. Okay. Loves a JP. Actually, that might not be the Godfather. That might be. It would be Scarface? Scarface. Yeah, Scarface. Sorry. And then, yes, so he's got Nick Foles's book, I got to give Dom a copy of my books to put up in the office.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Yeah. So how about Dom with a sock collection? You can give him the book and say, he's saying hello to my little old friend. Oh, look at that. Would you like those socks? My son would love those socks. Yeah? Big Italian fan?
Starting point is 00:02:28 Big Italian fan? Yeah, I mean, he's not anti-Ital. He likes it, but he likes colorful socks. Okay. Like I'm very understated in my sock collection, you know, black and white. That's it. Right. No gray.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Your favorite color. Gray is my favorite color. But no, he likes all these different types of socks and then likes the flash years. He does that. So he actually does something each, each day where it'll be like a drip check where. So he'll say to me, shoes drip, shorts, no drip, shirt no drip, hat drip. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:08 And then he. For himself or for you? No, for me. And then he evaluates himself and he's like drip, drip, drip, drip, no drip, drip, like anything that his, that, like, Emily makes him wear, it doesn't have drip. But today he, he went to camp wearing a Cincinnati Red City Connect jersey. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Ellie de la Cruz or? Well, I, the place that I get them, they don't put the names on the back. Some guy. Oh, literally. Yeah. literally um the place where i get him like like he's you got a dealer if you know you know the people in the chat i'm from friday show identified well like where i get these jerseys so um yeah you're not you're not buying american on this front no no no these these take like four weeks to get to you but
Starting point is 00:03:57 but they look like the real things okay yeah smell like it too so how did you do on today's trip check uh well i when he when he left i was i was going to the gym so i wasn't in his in East Coast. So I had two of the three things were trippy and one wasn't, yeah. Okay. So anyways, sorry to deviate there. I was trying to buy time as you were going,
Starting point is 00:04:17 as you were typing out of the tweet. How did you feel about yesterday's quarterback rankings? After we settled on. That didn't keep up. By the way, thank you to everybody who reached out. I agree. I do think that the Turkey Month discussion was probably the best five minutes in show history.
Starting point is 00:04:33 That's not true. That's not true. I think so. But, no, I, I, I, I, I, I thought it was a good discussion. He also, by the way, has Jeff McLean's article up here framed as well. Shout out to Jeff. You got to get you on there.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Yeah. I got right. How many mentions of Dom Desandro in the forthcoming book to be. If you fill time, I can tell you exactly what that is. The name of the book is Leap Year. Leap year. And so let me tell you how many. Believe it or not, I think I can break this.
Starting point is 00:05:07 Sent to the publishers or published actually. yesterday. Yep. Very exciting. He's found on 11 pages in the book. Okay. Desander's name. And so I guess you 11 times.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Any extended discussions of Mr. DeSandro? Any extended discussions? Are these mentions in passing or is there a nice little, you know, section? Not a full chapter, but a couple paragraphs about. No, there are not a couple paragraphs.
Starting point is 00:05:34 The NFL's most interesting man. But you'll, you, there's the scene of him with Bob Lang, teams, you know, Vice President of Communications and Dom DeSandro escorting Nick Siriani to Andy Reid after after the game. There's a lot. There's, there's Dom DeSandro at the parade. There's Dom DeSandro, the shirts, the Offensive Liman Award to the Jimmy Fallon show. There's Dom DeSandro's connection to Andy Reed.
Starting point is 00:06:07 there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's down de sandro giving the approval to draft jelan Carter oh that's a good one there's dom de sandro holding jelan Carter back in new orleans there's a nice full circle then yeah there's one predate the other are they are do you draw that connection you've got you've got don who signed off on jelan carter but then he's also well there's just there's a separate chapter uh on jelan carter like uh we call it the timeout section There's 10 people who have timeouts in our in the book. Can I guess them? Sure.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Is that okay? Is that giving anything away? No, no, no. That's fine. All right. Jalen Carter. Yep. Jailen Hertz.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Yes. Sequin Barclay. Yes. A.J. Brown. Yes. Does this include Nick Siriani and Howard Rosen? Yes. So there's three non-players and then seven players.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Okay. So Nick Siriani. Yes. Howie Roseman. Big Fangio. No. Really? Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Interesting. So Jeffrey Lurie then? Yes. Okay. All right. Now, three other players. I'm going to say you go. Lane Johnson.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Yes. Zach Bond? Yes. And I think the other one might be Brandon Graham? No. That was a good guess. So it was actually, it was very close to being Brandon Graham. but what I tried to do was I went one from each position group.
Starting point is 00:07:46 So I went Darius Slay. Oh, interesting. Yeah. So there's the quarterback, running back, wide receiver, offensive line, defensive line, linebacker, defensive back, and then head coach, GM owner for the 10 timeout sections. Okay. Yeah. Look forward to it.
Starting point is 00:08:01 And then there's Dom at the White House as well. And then there's Dom with Cooper DeGene, when Cooper DeGene's draft visit telling him you're going to come back here. And then there's the shirt that Jason Kelsey wore on Monday night football for the Eagles first game, or the Italian jumpsuit, rather, when he appeared on the commercial with Dom DeSandro. There you go. Superjet from Tim, who says, nice picket shortstop last night at softball bow. I didn't stay around for too long after our earlier game. Did you send one out to Grey's Ferry? The softball season has started.
Starting point is 00:08:37 Shout out to Tim. I did something last night Now I did I did Yeah I wouldn't hear about this Last night But there's a new rule That when you go down The short left field line
Starting point is 00:08:49 It has to go over the trees For it to be a home run Otherwise it's just a double I didn't know that rule So hit over the fence And I'm trotting around Like I hit a home run And then like no
Starting point is 00:08:58 It's a double It's a double But then I did something last night In softball that I don't believe That I have ever done In my life I could be wrong But I don't think that I've ever done it before
Starting point is 00:09:07 After that home run or double. My next at bat. I swung and missed. You've never swung and missed before? Never. It was like I had been placed under a curse. It was bizarre.
Starting point is 00:09:23 All of a sudden I just... Where you swing for the fence? Well, you know, it's possible that I was trying to, you know, elevate a little bit more to get it over those trees. But yeah, all of a sudden, I just, I didn't have the juice. Also, long-time listeners should know that we had this discussion last year. when there was a runner on first base and a rocket was hit to me. And I made the just animalistic, instinctive decision at shortstop
Starting point is 00:09:48 to let it hit my glove and drop and then get the double play. Tyler, I think, you know, it's like, and I, and I, it didn't feel fly roll. It didn't feel sporting. But I couldn't, I just, I couldn't help myself. Yeah. So the same situation happened last night, except it was a little bit softer. I had more time to think. We were winning the game handily.
Starting point is 00:10:06 It would have been really uncouth to do it then. So I just caught the ball. We live and learn. We can still grow at 39 years old. I'm still amazed you've never swung and missed in softball specifically. I mean, yeah, I shouldn't. But I don't know what to do with myself. Well, you just got to have a base hit swing.
Starting point is 00:10:28 I was reading last night. No, no, no. You don't need to give me hitting advice. I was reading a story about Brady House last night. And Brady House said that. For those who don't know, he's the new third basement on the Washington Nationals. And he said all his home runs come when he just does his, you know, base at swim. Yeah, sure. Yeah, I didn't have tried to hit home run.
Starting point is 00:10:49 So that was fresh in my mind. I think they're going to call him Brady House of Cards, bringing the D.C. Oh, okay. I like that. Yeah, he had a good game last night. Two for five. See some work again. I know you've been saying that the guy needs to get back into the Zag case.
Starting point is 00:11:01 And not saying that two for five and a stolen base, but he struck out, bases loaded. So. Anyways, let's get to the... Here is my day afterthought of the quarterback talk. Is that I know there are going to be times this season where I'm looking back and I'm like, I can't believe I ranked Jalen Hertz number five. Like, there are going to be...
Starting point is 00:11:25 There are going to be times this year where he's incredibly frustrating. And I think that is part of the Jailen Hertz experience. And there's no guarantee that he's always going to rise to the occasion. But this is also, this is a moment in time, you know? Yeah. Let's give the guy some flowers. He earned it, right? Like, that's, that's, I actually don't feel bad about my, my ranking at all.
Starting point is 00:11:50 I think that's, that's merited. I actually think J.Elin might think it's too low, but I think five's a strong number. Did get some pushback from, let's say, an unnamed person who covers the league. Oh, on our Justin Herbert ranking, too low, Justin Herbert. listen. What a flex that is. You're getting text for people covering the league.
Starting point is 00:12:14 And I just, you know what? I stand by it. Too normal. You know what? The chat, the, or I'm sorry,
Starting point is 00:12:22 not the chat, the YouTube commenters, they were on your side about Herbert. Yeah, they were anti-herbert. That means, it's right there in the name,
Starting point is 00:12:28 Herb. I got accused of, as a herb. I got accused of paying too much attention to college production. I got to say, oftentimes guilty is charged.
Starting point is 00:12:39 yesterday's exercise, I don't think that was that, that's, that's applicable. I don't think there was anyone that I pushed up the rankings because of the way they were in college. But I do think that the Joe Milton needle moving was very funny. Yeah. I mean, that was, that was probably more week 18, right? That was, that was Gerard Mayo. That was a nod to Gerard Mayo.
Starting point is 00:13:00 All right. Are you ready to get into it? Yes, let's do this. I'm excited for this one here. I have a feeling we're going to have the same number one. And I got to say, I think there's a pretty. clear number one and a pretty clear number two. And then I sort of think like three through 13 is sort of bundled together in my mind. What was your general takeaway from doing this
Starting point is 00:13:20 exercise? Yeah. So I thought there was like a clear top six. Have we even said what we're doing? Oh, in the weapons in the cold open. We're ranking the we are ranking the offensive weapons around the league. You're running back room, your wide receiver room, your tight end room. Now, this one, in contrast to yesterday, which was starting a franchise, this is just for this season. This is just the state of them heading into this year and the way we go. Go ahead. So as I was determining this and as I was going through with this morning, it occurred to me that I probably placed too much emphasis on running backs relative to you. I think you probably emphasized the third wide receiver more than I did.
Starting point is 00:14:00 I could be wrong there. So the way I have my spreadsheet with running back. The three wide receivers, tight end, and then the extra, which it could be the second tight end, could be second running back. So that's how I factor into this. This is one where actually I do think that depth matters. Okay. You know, a team like the Packers, right,
Starting point is 00:14:21 that doesn't have a number one receiver, but has four or five guys who could credibly be a number two. Like, I think that matters. But I think it matters more. Like, to be at the top of my list, you need to have an A1 wide receiver. Yes. I think.
Starting point is 00:14:36 I think that carries a lot of weight. Yeah, so there's, and then I had a real hard time here. My biggest problem spot here was what to do about Kansas City. Because the Rashid Rice situation is, I'm assuming Rashid Rice is playing this year. Price it in. But he's coming back from injury. Travis Kelsey is a year older now. I don't love their running back situation.
Starting point is 00:15:07 So Kansas City didn't make my top 10 here. And that was one when I started the exercise. I thought they were going to be higher because, you know, Xavier Worthy. I think he takes a step up. The best Super Bowl wide receiver of all time. Yeah, I think he takes a step up. Listen, we've got to be intellectually consistent. If we've got Jill and Hertz at number five,
Starting point is 00:15:26 Xavier Worthy's got to be up there at number three or something like that. So our number one, you want to do it at the same time? Let's do our number one. We'll do our number one. We'll discuss it. Okay. Number one. Three, two, one.
Starting point is 00:15:41 Philadelphia, Eagles. Washington commanders. No. The Eagles. Philadelphia. It's the Eagles. Absolutely. Of course it's the Eagles.
Starting point is 00:15:46 And that's not a homerism pick. I mean, they have the offensive player of the year, running back. Okay. They have a wide receiver who you- First round pick in the Eagles draft that we did. Yes. Who you can reasonably argue.
Starting point is 00:16:02 A wide receiver, can reasonably argue is the best wide receiver in the NFL. And if he's not, certainly top five. Devante Smith, you can reasonably argue is the best number two wide receiver in the NFL. There is a drop off at number three. We'll see, we'll see Jahan Dotson. I know Tyler's a Penn State guy. Tyler's producing our show today. So we'll see how Jahan Dotson does this year. But Dallas Goddard is a productive tight end. I mean, I think he's somewhere probably between that 7 and 12 range. So you just look at that. There's no one who compares to the high level
Starting point is 00:16:38 play, excuse me, the high level output that these guys have. Yeah. Now, I think that the team that I have at number two, and I'm guessing who you have at number two, you know, you could make a case that that team is in position to have maybe a better running back next year and probably a better tight end. and they can compete at wide receiver.
Starting point is 00:17:04 But the duo of AJ Brown and Devante Smith, if you're just talking about wide receiver duos, you know, Jamar Chase and T. Higgins would be up there. Obviously, they don't have the rest of the stuff. Pook and Akua and Devante Adams, depending on how you feel about Devante Adams at the stage of his career, and they've got Kyron Williams too,
Starting point is 00:17:23 but that doesn't quite hold up and certainly not a tight end. I just, it is so rare, and this is like a moment in time, or maybe two or three years in time that Eagles fans will never have again where you have arguably the best wide receiver in football, like you said, probably the best number two receiver in football,
Starting point is 00:17:41 and a running back playing at a level that no matter what Danes thinks like changes the shape of the offense, right? And listen, I think there's a very good chance that Sequeon is less explosive. Sure. And maybe misses more time. Still, you know, if he plays 12,
Starting point is 00:18:01 games, you're getting one of the better running backs in the league. Yeah, it's the argument that the Eagles had when they signed him is that like that position, the outlier there, the elite player there is such a difference maker. It's not fungible at that point. And Saquan, it's just heads and shoulders over what the Eagles had before.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Now, we talk about this ad nauseum. This is part of the Jilline Hertz discussion, but does the fact that the Eagles have the best offensive weapons in the league and also one of the best offensive lines in the league like how do you how do you play that into how you think about gilin herz yeah i mean it's it can't be dismissed but to use but the line nick syriani used after the after the after the nmc championship game where he was like tom brady had gruncowski right or well and then you know uh joe montana had jerry rice i mean the great quarterbacks typically
Starting point is 00:19:01 have great players with them. Patrick Mahomes has perhaps the best, you know, tight end or one of the best tight ends in NFL history during this period. Early in his career, he had Tyreek Hill. So, yeah, I think the quarterback elevates everybody, but it's hard to find
Starting point is 00:19:17 maybe Dan Marino, but it's hard to find like an elite quarterback who didn't have like an all pro level player that he played with. I think that's fair. Now, it happens that Joan Hertz has many of them. But that's, he's still winning with him.
Starting point is 00:19:37 So I give jail on credit. Now, I will say last year, entering the season, I had the Eagles at number three. I don't remember where you had them. I probably had them. I only have access to my sheet. Gotcha. I probably had them two or three.
Starting point is 00:19:48 I got to go back and listen to the show. Okay. So they've risen in the ranks. I do think if we look at last year, this is one where there is obviously a lot of carryover, as you would expect. Who would be your sixth person on here? Would you go Will Shipley?
Starting point is 00:20:03 Would you go Johnny Wilson? Would you go Harrison Bryant? Or do you think this is just a five-man show? You love Harrison Bryant. You go Harrison Bryant over at Grand Cockatown? No, you'd probably go Grand Cockater. I would probably go Will Shipley.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Well, that's why I put here. I put Shipley on my list. I think that's the right one. Yeah. Okay. All right. Take a quick break. Come back and find out
Starting point is 00:20:21 where the rest of the league ranks. Who's number two on the PHA Y Eagles podcast? We start with our friends from Parks Casino. You know about Parks. Starting point is 00:21:31 In my case, I learned a financial blind spot. spot is like vacation spending. I took Reed and Sloan to an arcade last week and I got them too many tokens, right? And I looked at my credit card receipt and I'm like, should I have spent that much on tokens? And I point this out because finances can be messy and confusing. Monarch money acts like your personal CFO, giving you full visibility and control so you can stop earning and start growing. It's more than your average budgeting at. Starting point is 00:22:07 Start building wealth with 50% off your first year for, with 50% off your first year for our listeners. So I look at Monarch money and I think about like the times when I might have overspent, such as the vacation arcade room. I think about, wait. I think about wasting money maybe on like, you know, do I really need that dessert with dinner? You can get stressed about your finances. Monarch money can help you with that.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Start measuring your finances to build the life you actually want. Monarch makes managing money simple, even for busy lives. It was named the Wall Street Journal's best budgeting app of 2025, so you know it's good. Use code P-H-L-Y at Monarchmoney.com in your browser for half off your first year. That's 50% off your first year at monarchmoney.com with code P-H-L-Y. All right.
Starting point is 00:23:14 It seemed like you thought that I shouldn't lament the arcade sparing. I mean, come on. I think it's like you get all these tokens. They run through them. in about 30 minutes, they get the tickets. The tickets get them a football that I could have gotten for like $3 online. It's not about, it's not about the purchase. I understand that.
Starting point is 00:23:41 But the tokens don't even let it. We were literally in the arcade for 30 minutes. Do they have fun? They loved it. They loved it. Sloan got this. So their enjoyment is not worth the money. That's your big financial blind spot.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Sloan got this cupcake light that like a battery operated of cupcake light and so I'm lamenting the power being out and Sloan said don't worry dad we can use the cupcake light and so I was like thank you Sloan yeah sounds like money well spent to me yeah so but I was just thinking you know at the top of this it says talk about a financial blind spot. So I was thinking about my credit card during the past week and my financial blind spot was the arcade. That I, that's where I said, I overspent. I think, I mean, you got to let the vacation money not be your problem. I mean, worry about your other financial blind spots. Fair enough. Come on. Good thing is, I'm saving money on this on the City Connect jersey. Yeah, there you go. Exactly. All right. Who's your number two, Zach? number two is the Cincinnati Bengals. Oh, interesting.
Starting point is 00:25:03 And so here, I like the way Chase Brown is developing at running back, but this is really about this wide receiver combination. I think Jamar Chase and T. Higgins, you can argue it's the best wide receiver combination in the league. AJ and Devante might push back on that.
Starting point is 00:25:22 I thought Mike Jizaki, shout out the Penn State, had a really productive year last year they gave him a new deal in result uh your boy is the wide receiver three andre yosevas yeah does i pronounce it correctly i think you were close enough okay good Zach moss is is the extra guy here that one you got right but yeah i mean chasen higgins and then the emergence of chase brown makes me uh go with them number two here okay i i have my number four but i don't really uh disagree with that if you're if you were caring the most about just the wide receiver tandem, sure.
Starting point is 00:25:58 Who's your two? My two is the Detroit Lions. Interesting, okay. Where do you have the Lions? I have the Lions at 5. Really? Yes. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:26:07 Yeah, I think they've got probably the best running back tight end tandem in the league and Jamir Gibbs and Sam LaPorta. And I think with Amon Ross, Sam Brown, and, you know, the explosiveness of James and Williams. Yeah, I sign up for that all day long. Now we'll see what they do without Ben Johnson playing chess. But, yeah, I would take the Lions group, and they're also just generally a little bit younger
Starting point is 00:26:30 than that Bengals group. I'm a little bit, we saw this in the draft the other day. You're a little higher on T. Higgins tonight. Yes, I'm quite high on T. Higgins. And that's been the case, really, since we talked about him coming out of Clemson. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. You can't reframe this.
Starting point is 00:26:47 I like T. Higgins coming out. We talked about it. I just thought that it was duplicative with JJ. I know, I know, I know. So, yeah, Detroit's word. worthy of being on this list. I'm bullish on Jameson Williams this year. I think Jameson Williams is really going to emerge.
Starting point is 00:27:03 So when I do that fantasy show with Jamie, we'll be talking about Jameson Williams on there. Sam Leporta, I really like him. David Montgomery is a strong compliment in the backfield. Yeah, I probably thought, though, that between Williams and Tim Patrick, that number two, number three wide receiver spot doesn't give him the edge over.
Starting point is 00:27:24 Don't sleep on Isaac to slough. Ah, your boy. Yeah. Yeah. Arkansas. You know him, baby. Did you see, by the way, that play in the college World Series, the Arkansas Second Baseman?
Starting point is 00:27:36 Oh, I did, yeah. Yeah, that's a tough one. Felt for the guy. Yeah, tough. Yeah. Okay. Number three. Who's your number three?
Starting point is 00:27:43 My number three is the Miami Dolphins. Oh, I dropped the dolphins down. So actually, they are in my 11. They're not in your top 10. Not in my top 10. Wow. So this is good. We have discrepancies today.
Starting point is 00:27:55 I thought we agreed too much yesterday. Yeah. I think that's a little silly that I haven't met 11 and not 10 looking at my number 10 right now, but that's okay. Well, I got to preface this by saying long-time viewers here know going back to Texas A&M, Devon A-Chane is a guy that I've been bullish on for a long time. I mean, he is such an explosive player. You read the reports coming out at Dolphins Camp and what he's playing this summer. So I'm big on A-Chane.
Starting point is 00:28:24 And then you got Tyrick Hill and Jail and Waddle, who along with the Eagles and the Bengals, are in, you know, the top wide receiver duo combination. A big question here is what they do about Jono Smith. They're rumored to trade him, John H. Smith, who grew up right over there. If they trade him, they don't have a number two tight end. They have Farrell Brown as their number two tight end. But I think that between A. Chain Hill and Waddle, their third. third wide receiver is probably Parker Washington.
Starting point is 00:28:57 I like what the dolphins have here. I worry that Tyree Kill is a significantly declining player. Okay. And I like Jalen Wattle, but he's not enough to make up for that for me. And yeah, I don't, I don't like A-Chane as much as you do. He's explosive. Looking at it now, I wish I had him at 10 instead of 11, but. Who's your three?
Starting point is 00:29:21 My three is the Houston Texans. Interesting. They're my number 10. Wow. Interesting. Nico Collins, bona fide number one. Yes. And then this is where you talk about depth.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Christian Kirk, Cromulan player. Tankdale went healthy. Very good player. Are we sure tank tails can play this season? No, but I didn't realize until looking, I just hadn't internalize it, that they double dipped on the Iowa State guys. Sure.
Starting point is 00:29:46 And Jaden Higgins and Jalen Knoll. So I think that's a really nice pool to develop from. Dalton Schultz is a fine tight end. Yep. Nick Chubb, back up for him. I mean, I'm not, Chubb is not necessarily killing it for me, but that wide receiver group taught like one through five
Starting point is 00:30:02 is maybe the best in the league. I always thought John Metchie was underutilized, so maybe he gets more of an opportunity there. Maybe. So, yeah, that's, that's, um, they're your number what? They're my number 10. Wow.
Starting point is 00:30:15 Jeez. I should have had them higher here. Okay. Idiot Sandwich says, did you guys see the Pablo Torre piece on Roger Goodell and the owner collusion around guaranteed contract. We'd love to hear your thoughts on it
Starting point is 00:30:28 and the arbiter findings. The arbitrator findings. Yes. Actually, Zach and I pulled into the parking lot and I told them I had been sitting in my car for about 10 minutes finishing that episode. Shout out to Pablo Tori, who continues to do a fantastic job.
Starting point is 00:30:42 The best in the game right now. Very insightful. And it's not, to be fair, my takeaway, none of the owner's stuff took me by surprise. I mean, of course, that's how they operate. It's wonderful to get it on the record.
Starting point is 00:31:00 And I would love to know, you know, the process by which Pablo went about making that happen. But that's exactly how you would expect the owners to speak. And of course, of course, there is an unspoken collusion going on there. What was shocking to me that I had no idea about was the behind-the-scenes stuff on the NFLPA. And like, boy, does J.C. Tredder
Starting point is 00:31:23 come out looking terrible. And if I was a player, I would be absolutely livid about the sequence of events. So anyway, everybody should listen to that and then, you know, come back and we can talk about it tomorrow. Yeah, so I read,
Starting point is 00:31:37 I get the substack from Pablo, and then I downloaded the PDF of, I guess, was it the disposition, the deposition? I don't know what the, you're the one who read it. No, I don't know what the right, what the right term for that would be.
Starting point is 00:31:55 First thing I did was that it find Eagles and make sure that I wasn't missing anything. Eagles were not named in there. But I found the text messages from the owners like so unbecoming. I mean, you know, Michael Bidwell.
Starting point is 00:32:10 First off, so he's best thing Dean Spanos, right? Dino. D. E.N. Caps. And like, like, so. Dino, my man. And like, they're like, congratulating each other over this contract they just gave Conmerry.
Starting point is 00:32:26 Right. Numerary's over stifling the guarantee of money. Yeah. And yeah, I thought that was, I thought that was unbecoming. I thought that. Well, I don't think that's unbecoming because that's because you hold them in some regard. These are low lives. I just think that like that that's that's no way for an employer to speak about an employee. Of course not. You know, like you can say, look, you could say it was important for me based on, I don't know people talk. this way in text, but like...
Starting point is 00:32:53 Michael Bedwell is a garbage human being, of course he talks like a garbage human. No, no, but like, look, you know, the, we, we were afraid of the guaranteed money thing that was important to us, but she's like so happy for Kyler or something like that. You know. I just like, really just suppressing those wages, my man. Yes, I found that. Yeah, I got to say, like, I kind of admire Lamar Jackson in the sense of like I'm someone who's... man, sorry, microphones broke.
Starting point is 00:33:24 I'm someone who's like very deferential. Lose this number. I'm very like deferential to like my superiors and like, and he's just saying like, like I want guaranteed contract, right? And so that. Well, yeah. And I mean, of course.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Of course it was collusion that nobody was willing to like even discuss signing Lamar Jackson. That's insane. Yeah. It's ridiculous. Ridgamous. So I, we're going to roll the dice with Desmond Ritter.
Starting point is 00:33:50 Yeah. So I'm, I'm, I'm excited to listen back through the podcast, but I read it this morning. Yeah, very good. I was listening. I should just give us a plug because I do my podcast listening on the way in today. What I was listening to was the exciting mics with Nolan Smith.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Enjoyed that episode. Enjoyed no one on there. There you go. All right. Who's your number four? My number four I've already said is the Cincinnati Bengals. My number four is the San Francisco 49ers. I have them at nine.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Wow, we are worlds apart here today. So look, Christian McCaffrey is arguably the best running back in the NFL. I think he's going to rebound from a down year last year because of injuries. I'm so bullish on McAfree. You're not in love with the wide receiver corps. Brandon Ayuk is coming off injury. Ricky Persol, first round pick last year. I know they have high hope.
Starting point is 00:34:50 hopes for him. We still need to see a lot more from him. Juan Jennings, I think, is an underrated player, is going to factor into there. But I still think George Kittles a high-level tight end. I saw, I believe, was a tweet from Josh Norris today. He has a lot of George Kittle stock and his fantasy drafts. Take it to the bank. I'm a big Isaac Arendo guy. You're just saying that to make Vince happy?
Starting point is 00:35:14 Yeah, I'm saying that to make Vince happy. I was impressed with Isaac last year when he was in there. I mean, I have this mental image of him running down the right sideline. Like, you know, this fourth, this, this four three speed at, you know, 220 pounds. I like these, I like these skill guys here. Isaac, I know, a tough one where I think most Isaacs, you want to call him Ike. But Ike Garendo is, it doesn't flow. Ike Garendo, you need this.
Starting point is 00:35:44 Do you want to call most Isaacs, like? Absolutely. Really? Okay. Hmm. When I think I'm thinking, Isaac or Isaiah? I think I... I'm thinking Isaac, I guess.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Yeah. Okay. Yeah. You show me an Isaac. I'll show you someone. I'll show you an Ike. Who's your favorite Ike? Uh, Ike Davis.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Looks like my good friend, David Duberstein. I remember covering him. Doobie? No, Davis. Andy McCall did a great job writing about him. My favorite. is Ikees. Shout out to Ikees.
Starting point is 00:36:19 Yeah. You beat me. Yeah. Big I increase fan. Now we know who's not in your top five presidents then. Dwight Eisenhower, yes.
Starting point is 00:36:31 I mean, the interstate system was a big deal for our country. And he had a lot to do with that. Remains one. Remains one. Okay. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:36:44 I just, the Niners, those guys are all declining except for Pierce all. Right? Like, you know, George Kittle could fall apart. Christian McCaffrey could fall apart. Brandon Ayuk arguably already has fallen apart.
Starting point is 00:36:57 They could certainly rebound. They've got the easiest schedule in football, as the professor has outlined for us. I think I'm expecting the Niners to be good this year and probably be like a top three seed in the conference. But trading for those guys, I'd rather have these other teams. And I thought that Luke,
Starting point is 00:37:18 Farrell contract was ridiculous. Just putting that out there. Okay. Yeah. I mean, I don't know what Kyle Shannon is thinking, like making Luke Farrow a priority in free agency, but I guess he wants a blocking tight end. Wow. Not since Dan Morgan have you absolutely raked an NFL decision maker through the calls.
Starting point is 00:37:41 More than that. Like, Luke, no. Excuse me. I got to say, whenever I'm in this studio, my, throat gets scratchy, like great outside. My throat's scratching here. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, probably the building. Probably so. All right, let's take a break and come back with the rest of our rankings. You've heard Zach's top five, my top five, and actually only my top four, but boy, is there more to come. Okay, who are we talking about? Of course. We're talking about
Starting point is 00:38:17 our friends at Galat. If your hair line's been slipping and you're thinking about doing something about it, listen up. Hair transplants aren't just cosmetic. Starting point is 00:39:01 local team, text your photo or call 6109804,000 or visit gladhairm.com. That's Gladhaired by Morgan Stern Medical. Let's get that hairline back in the game. I'm looking at some text messages from Sunday night when the Tyrese Halliburton injury occurs. And I don't want to read someone else's text messages here. So I'll just read mine. And I said, are these injuries happening more than before? If they are, there's one place we all need to turn. And it's where we need to turn for any sports injury. And that's Rothman Orthopedic. Starting point is 00:40:37 and Devante Adams, very good top two, Tyron Williams. Yeah. You know, bottom top 10 running back, very good, very reliable. And the rest of it's just okay. Too, too, well, overpaid and Tyler Higby always injured. So this is why I think there's a, there's kind of a big drop off between those top four,
Starting point is 00:40:57 but I guess I would still take him over the Niners because I like the receivers better. I mean, I definitely like Puka and Devante. I think, I think Kyron Williams has really shown that he's, starting running back in this league. Yeah, that third wide receiver spot jumps out to me. They clearly like Tutu. Tutu hasn't established himself to the point
Starting point is 00:41:17 of the contract they paid, but we'll see what they have in mind for them. The variable to watch here is Terrence Ferguson. The second round pick, someone who Sean McVeigh really liked. They targeted. You heard James Gladstone say that. So I'm curious to see what Terrence Ferguson looks like this year. Yeah, I'm not so high on Terrence Ferguson, but I'm sure that in that offense, they will find a way to make him work. All right.
Starting point is 00:41:36 Who's your number six? My number six is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Just on the outside for me, but I like the bucks. So I saw a quote tweet early this morning from Mike Evans saying this is the best receiver court he's ever been around. And you look at it and they got Mike Evans, they got Chris Godwin, they got Egbuka, who I really liked coming out this year. And then, I mean, they're deep even behind him with, you know,
Starting point is 00:42:03 Jeline McMillan, who was a second round pick a year ago. They have some options there. I'm bullish on Bucky Irving. People love Bucky Irving. Yeah, Bucky Irving, I was really impressed last year. Every time I watched the Bucks and I saw them.
Starting point is 00:42:18 I want a name. I saw them a number of times, both when they played the Eagles, they were when some cross, a cross-film that we watch, you know, cross-team film that we watched, Bucky Irving was really impressive. And I think he's going to take another.
Starting point is 00:42:36 step up this year. Rashad White is an extra player here. Now, K. Doughton's there, tight end. K. Dotten hasn't been great, but he was better than people think. He's a good player. But he's been a good fantasy player. Sure. So I like these weapons here, especially with Godwin Healthy and Ekbuka back out there. I like the Bucks.
Starting point is 00:42:56 I don't have a big argument with them being in your top 10. I've got him at 12, but I like that. I'm not quite as in on Bucky Irving. But if Godwin is healthy, Evans Godwin-Egbuk is a pretty good start. So just we're doing top 10 today, right? Yes. Okay, all right. I know.
Starting point is 00:43:14 I did. I ranked them. Okay. Into like 16. Okay. Gotcha. Gotcha. Purposes.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Yeah. My number six is, I'm just taking the other best receiver in football. Give me the Minnesota Vikings. I like Jordan Addison as well. E. J. Hachinson, a good tight end. And Aaron Jones still fine as a running back.
Starting point is 00:43:34 So I just, you know, Sign me up for the ace there in Justin Jefferson. Give me the bike. Yeah, they're my number eight. And I'm with you here in that this is an intriguing core of skill players, not just based on like the high level players. You know, Justin Jefferson might be the best receiver in the league. T.J. Hawkinson's one at the top five tight ends in the league when he's healthy.
Starting point is 00:43:57 But then even some of their depth guys, right? Like Jordan Mason was a good acquisition for them. I thought Jordan Mason looked good filling in for Christian McCaffrey last year. how he's that backup running back this year. I thought Rondale Moore was a good under the radar signing. I'm curious to see how he looks in that Kevin O'Connell offense. I always thought he had more juice than the way he played. So I'm with you here.
Starting point is 00:44:21 I probably could have put them higher. That's pretty close. Super chat from My POV Life, who says, is his name Irving, but he's kind of a jumpy guy. I don't think I get it. Bucky Irving. I'm not sure I understand that. there, but these things typically go over my head.
Starting point is 00:44:42 I'm missing it. But I appreciate the contribution. I know that's right. My POV life. And thanks, by the way, I didn't get to say this. Thanks to everyone who contributed last week. It was awesome, seeing the money that we were able to raise for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Amen. Who's your number seven? My number seven is the Baltimore Ravens.
Starting point is 00:45:03 Did not make my top. Okay. So let me state the case here. Derek Henry, this guy's ageless, it seems like. I mean, just productive every year. Excuse me, the building. One of the best running backs in the NFL. Making all kinds of excuses. I really like, I really like Zay Flowers.
Starting point is 00:45:25 I don't love Zay Flowers. Yeah, I mean, I'm so impressed by his game. I think, I think Zay Flowers is a legit number one receiver right now. You think so? He was a pro bowler last year, correct? And I think that he's continuing to ascend. AJ Brown wasn't a pro bowler in the NFC
Starting point is 00:45:42 yeah so yeah Rashad would you rather have AJ Brown or Zayflow I'd rather have AJ Brown than Zay Flowers I'd rather have like half of an AJ Brown
Starting point is 00:45:50 than Zay Flowers okay Rashad Bateman they just gave a new contract to they're really high on Rashad Bateman it's kind of been yeah
Starting point is 00:45:58 you know what eight years in a row this is the year that Rashad Bateman's going to break out boy all the numbers are telling us that he is an elite player then he's going to have his breakout season.
Starting point is 00:46:09 If it's not this year, then next year. And if not then, then three years from now. Yeah. I mean, give me a break. DeAndre Hopkins goes into the mix here. Look kind of washed in the Super Bowl last year, but we'll see. I mean, you know, DeAndre Hopkins can be a factor in the red zone.
Starting point is 00:46:24 But what sets this off for me is the tight end combination. They didn't trade Mark Andrews. And Mark Andrews, despite what happened in the playoffs, what? It is. It's Mark Andrews, Mark. Okay, I appreciate you. Shime me in with that one.
Starting point is 00:46:40 Yeah, it is Mark Andrews. I think Mark Andrews is a top five tight end. And then watch out for Isaiah Likeley, man. I mean, Isaiah Likeley is likely to have a big year this year. You know, I read John Harbaugh's quote that, you know, about Isaiah likely's potential. And I've seen it. Like, I've seen it when I've watched the Ravens on television, on film.
Starting point is 00:47:03 I buy Isaiah likely stock now because it's likely never to be at this at this price for a long time. Okay. I just, I just, I just, I just like Isaiah likely. Yeah. Okay. Super chat from Jason, Daniel Plainview who says, do you forgive Mike Floreo or his word count to this? No.
Starting point is 00:47:27 I appreciate you. Obviously. And here's how, here's how I would respond to that is Mike Florio. is making a big deal out of this 61-page document that everybody needs to know about. And so if you think about it, maybe his complaint about the length of a different article was more about protecting sources and currying favor
Starting point is 00:47:49 than it was an actual realistic complaint about the length of an article. Maybe word count doesn't matter to him. That's just an opinion from the outside. I love him. Bo gets feisty. It's awesome. Yeah. I mean, I think an article should be as long as it needs to be. And I thought that article was,
Starting point is 00:48:11 I thought that that article could have been longer. I can tell you there was enough material to make it longer. So I feel good about the word length. All right. Your number eight, who have already told us is the Minnesota Vikings. My number eight, looking at it now,
Starting point is 00:48:25 this team should not be in my top 10. And I was very surprised they were in my top 10. But I care a lot about the number one. receiver. There's some spicy upside of the number two. Their running backs are bad. Their tight end is fine. The Dallas Cowboys.
Starting point is 00:48:43 Wow. I like CD Lamb so much. Is this a George Pickens vote of confidence? Well, it's really more of a CD Lamb thing. Because the other teams who I'm considering with these last couple spots, like I like Cid Lamb more than Mike Evans. I like Citi Lamb more than, you know,
Starting point is 00:48:58 Rashi Rice or Xavier Worth. I like Cedley Lamb more than Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter. I think that's a fun one you could bet on it. That was a fun one. I like him more than say flowers. I like him more than Ladd-McConkie. So I'm just, I'm betting on the guy who's the best. And the running backs are bad.
Starting point is 00:49:15 They've been bad. Like crazy that they didn't do anything else there. But you can get away with, you know, replacement level running backs. I think Jake Ferguson's fine. And so if George Pickens, if George Pickens can be, you know, 75% of how good he can be,
Starting point is 00:49:33 then yeah i think this is i think this is a group that you would take yeah i'm i'm with you there in terms of the wide receivers um and i see in in the chat uh they're anti this this pick don't be anti the dallas wide receivers that that wide receiver combination is really good i mean i think george pickens compliments each other oh i'm sorry i think he compliments cd lamb well cd lamb does so well navigating the middle of the field george pickins uh is such a threat on the perimeter that you put these these two guys together that's been a real tough team defend. I guess because of the running back situation, although Javante Williams before the injury in Denver, I thought, showed some juice. And then the lack of a third wide receiver there,
Starting point is 00:50:15 I think Jake Ferguson is fine, but he, I just went with 10 other teams over them. But they were in my also receiving votes. Okay. I think actually, we have the rest of your list. So you have your nine is the Rams. My nine is the Niners. And then your 10 is the Texans. Yep. My number 10, this is one that we were too high on last year, and I'm just,
Starting point is 00:50:39 I'm just giving them the Fran Duffy bump here. And that is the Chicago Bears. So, you know, you've got Roma DUNzee, who was fine as a rookie. You've got D.J. Moore, who's very good.
Starting point is 00:50:52 You got Luther Bird and the third. I'm giving them the Fran Duffy. This is a nice group to build around. And you have a first round tight end in Colson, Lovelland to go with Cole Komet. The running backs are not great. in D'Andre Swift and Roshan Johnson.
Starting point is 00:51:05 But I think over, I think that's a, you have spread your resources nicely. Okay. And there should be some guys who can pop there. I definitely considered them. With that, it was a challenge.
Starting point is 00:51:15 There were a few teams, Chicago, LA Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars, where I struggled with how to project the rookie, right? Because look, if Colston Loveland and Luther Burden
Starting point is 00:51:28 are immediate impact players, then they're a top 10 skill group because like you said, you have DJ more. I think Roma Dunzee gets better in year two. I'm curious to see DeAndre Swift. So I like a lot of what they have. It's just hard for me to project the burden and Loveland part of this.
Starting point is 00:51:51 Totally reasonable. Anybody else do you think was worth discussing? You mentioned the Jaguars. Yeah, the Chargers and Johnson Hunter is fun. The Jaguars and the Chargers. Yeah. We're two teams there because, look, Ladd McConkey. looked real good last year
Starting point is 00:52:04 and now they bring Mike Williams back the challenge there is Omerian Hampton and like is O'Marian Hampton really good? Is he so that one is a difficult one to project Jacksonville if Travis Hunter is a star I mean
Starting point is 00:52:20 Brian Thomas looked like one of the best receivers in football last year right so now you have him you have Travis Hunter so and then they have a number of running backs who are interesting I'm seeing I'm curious to see what Liam Cohen does with them. I was paying a lot of attention in these rankings to Seattle
Starting point is 00:52:37 because it really depends if Cooper Cup is washed or not. If he's not washed, you put him with, you know, Smith Jigba. That's an interesting group. I like their running back combination of Kenneth Walker and Zach Sharbonnet. So that's one that I paid attention to.
Starting point is 00:52:53 They got Elijah Royo and other friends. Sure, exactly. So they were a consideration of mine as well. were really the... There's one more I wanted to ask you about. And then Kansas City, of course. There's one more I want to ask you about.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Yeah. And boy, if they had any wide receivers at all, you could make a case. But the Raiders with your boy, Brock Bowers, and now Ashton Genty. That's true. That's pretty fun, right? That's true.
Starting point is 00:53:19 But their wide receivers are so bad. So bad. Yeah, well, we'll see what they do there. Now, did you pay down? I'm curious on your list was Washington on there? No. Not in consideration. Because they have Terry McCrard.
Starting point is 00:53:32 Lauren and Debo Samuel now, right? And so it really depends. If you think Debo can be the Debo from two years ago with Terry McClaren, Zach Ertz a tight end, you know, Zach Ertz had a strong year last year. That's a team to pay attention to. Much to Nick Siriani chagrin. Apparently so. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:51 Yeah, no, not in consideration for me. So what was the biggest change from, like? I think Terry McLaren's very overrated. Okay. Really? Yeah. Why? That's a bold take.
Starting point is 00:54:02 he's a he's a he's a he's a he's been a target hog and a bad offense okay he's a good I think he's a very good player I remain mystified that he made the pro bowl over a j. brown last year I agree with you there they're not even they're not even in the same species of player I mean you might not even be the same species yeah yeah AJ's a outstanding but yeah no I I hear you I hear you there I have a lot of respect for for Terry McLaren I think he's a really good player he's a very good player yeah I bet I haven't my fantasy team
Starting point is 00:54:34 Sure No there's one other team I want to ask you about And don't laugh When I bring this up I know exactly who it is The Atlanta Falcons The Atlanta Falcons
Starting point is 00:54:44 I mean Bijon Robinson might be the best runnerback in football this year There's a chance that could happen I think he had like 1,800 combined yards last year He's entering year three Drake London
Starting point is 00:54:56 has been really productive I know My love affair with Kyle Pitts I get it I get it. I admit. The tempestuousness of that love affair. If this is always the year for Rashad David.
Starting point is 00:55:08 If this is always the year for Rashad Bateman. Whoever I do fantasy football will, they'll just pencil Kyle Pitts on my team. I mean, when I have my auction, I'm sure everyone's just going to bid up because they know that I want to use my money to get Kyle Pitts. Because I just, I believe in Kyle Pitts. And I still believe in Kyle Pitts. But honestly, this is more about Bijian and Drake Lund. London, two really strong players who, like, you can make a case that when we have this conversation in the year,
Starting point is 00:55:40 Bejan Robinson is the top running back, and you can make a case that Drake London is a top 10 wide receiver. I'm trying to figure out where, going back to where Rashad Bateman ranked in receiving guards last year, which, listen, that's not the only thing that matters. But he didn't even have 800 yards receiving last year. Leaders, regular season, NFL. The bait man came in at 42nd in receiving arts last year. So where did Kansas City fall on your list?
Starting point is 00:56:23 And then Green Bay I wanted to ask you about as well. Oh, I didn't mention Green Bay. Green Bay was my number seven. Oh, okay. Green Bay was my number seven. Weren't that you're number seven as well? No, Green Bay wasn't on my list. Oh, Green Bay was my number seven.
Starting point is 00:56:37 Baltimore was my seven. Josh Jacobs and then the depth of the wide receiver cord, Jaden Reed, Matthew Golden now, gives them some speed. Romeo Dobbs, Dantavian Wix, Tucker Kraft, Luke Musgrave. I think there's a lot of good players there where maybe the sum of the parts is greater. Matthew Golden is kind of the big variable there. No doubt.
Starting point is 00:56:56 Yeah. Yeah. I like that group. And then Kansas City. Kansas City, eh. Like Pacheco looks like a shell of himself. Maybe he gets back a year removed from the injury. Yeah, the Rashi Rice guessing game is tough.
Starting point is 00:57:10 Respect to Xavier, were these otherworldly performance in the Super Bowl, but, you know, Travis Kelsey is a shelf himself at this point. So yeah. So it's a fine group. You've got the best quarterback in football. It'll work. But yeah. I'm looking forward to reading the chat later tonight and tomorrow. I'm sorry, not the chat, the YouTube comments later tonight and tomorrow morning to see what the audience thinks about these for these rankings. It's always interesting for me, you know, because I I check the YouTube comments once I get home, then I check them before I go to bed. And then I check early in the morning. And it's always, it's always interesting to see, like, who watched it when, right?
Starting point is 00:57:47 Because you get, I think we get a big overnight viewership, you know, I don't know if it's people who, you know, they're, they're in different time zones or maybe they just struggle sleeping or they, uh, but yeah, we get a, you know, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., we typically get a good audience during that time. Is there a form? We'll answer this question in a minute. I'm going to let you think about it. Is there a way that someone could listen to the show that would disturb you? We'll find out in overtime or watch the show.
Starting point is 00:58:31 Is there a way that someone? What if it's their Belichick saving? No, I mean, I'd be flattered, I suppose. No, I think that the one thing that I hope viewers recognize about our show relative to a lot of other shows is that we're a live show, right? There's so many shows that are produced shows, right? And so we don't do multiple takes. We don't do like, if I say something and I'm like, oh, shoot, I regret that. I can't be like, let's take that out, right?
Starting point is 00:59:02 And there's a lot of shows out there. Stop down, three, two. Yeah, exactly. There are a lot of shows out there where it's like someone doesn't articulate the point they want. And so they just redo the point. Yeah. And so I'm not asking for grace from commenters sometimes or from because look, I'm looking for all types of constructive feedback. Even unconstructive feedback I'm looking for.
Starting point is 00:59:26 But I think like if you make a point that's not like totally cogent in that moment or you can't quite get the word you're looking for. This is raw, baby. Yeah, this is live podcasting, which is different than a lot of other shows that are packaged and produced. Not to say our shows aren't produced, but it's not like, you know, there are some shows where they'll film this segment this time or and that's, and then it's not even sequential. How would you compare that then to just an hour of a radio program, which is also live? So I would also say, and look, I know there's a lot of people who would disagree with me on this too. I think radio programming, I think radio is actually easier than this
Starting point is 01:00:09 because radio you have breaks. Like we do all live ad reads. So in radio you have those two minutes or so to catch your breath. If it's a six hour shit. Well, yeah, the six hour show. Now, the thing that is really hard and there's some podcasters who do this, but this is more of what you see in radio
Starting point is 01:00:30 is the solo show. The solo show. The solo show. And look, I grew up with a clock radio in my room, listening to WIP, and falling asleep to that every night until I was old enough to get a TV. And I can tell you, like, it was like they were having a conversation with me, like the great overnight hosts, I suppose. That's what they do.
Starting point is 01:00:58 That's an unbelievable skill. I would really struggle, I think, with the solo show. Because, yeah, I just, that would be, I need to bounce thoughts off somebody. That's all, that's a skill that is amazing to me. I agree. Yeah, yeah. There was a time period, guys, when I was kind of getting my first break as a host where I was doing eight to midnight Sundays solo.
Starting point is 01:01:24 Eight to midnight. Yeah, it sucked. It really used. Were their callers? Usually till about 9.30, maybe 10 o'clock. And that was about it. Yeah. I'm confident that I can do, I think I can do a decent solo show during drive time, right?
Starting point is 01:01:40 Sure. If you're giving me callers, I can get you from call to call. I can get you in and out of breaks. But it's the like the overnight shifts that are amazing to me when I just saw condensation coming. Honestly, less than it's been the past couple days. Yeah, that, that is amazing to me. So I admire the fact that you did that, Tyler. I don't ever want to do it again.
Starting point is 01:02:05 Don't get me wrong. Would you like, you know, would you sort of redo the show every hour? So it was, you get guests. Yeah. You hope your producer is. So like I came up as a producer first. So like I,
Starting point is 01:02:18 but I always wanted to host. So I could bounce back and forth with my host. But if your producer wasn't on air ready, that's when it was really hard. Yeah, that's tough. Okay. What else you got? What else I got?
Starting point is 01:02:34 I don't know. You tell me. Did we hit all the super chats? I think we did. No, but what was the first one? Oh, the greatest. Yeah, yeah, that was the softball. Yeah, I appreciate, by the way.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Two and no on the season. No big deal. Defending champs. It's two games in. That's early, yeah. We'll catch up. Can't win them all if you don't win the first two. I received a lot of, or I received about eight or nine messages.
Starting point is 01:03:05 since yesterday's show on book recommendations. Oh. So I appreciate those via Instagram and email and Twitter DM. And how many responses on the turkey melt? No one messaged me directly on the turkey metal. It was more people commenting on YouTube and on your blue sky thing. Wow, just unbelievable. It was so good.
Starting point is 01:03:29 I got on me. I didn't hear the part in our show where you talked about the AI part of it. So that... Did you then go back and listen to it or no? Not yet. Not not yet. I guess I'm too busy reading up Brady House. The idea is there was an article in the New York Times.
Starting point is 01:03:47 Okay. That rag. And it was like back and forth about how they use AI or whatever, like the power of AI. And the very first, you know, it's this reporter, this Jemoke. And he's like, oh, I don't understand how people don't use it. I use it. It basically replaced Google for me. I ask it everything.
Starting point is 01:04:07 Like, I don't want, what setting do I put my toaster oven on for my turkey melt? Like, I'm sorry. Oh, that's the selling point. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:04:14 that's not the selling point. You're Gibron? I actually did see an, and effective. Oh, do I don't know if you called this. I think it was during the NBA finals the other night, the Google commercial about,
Starting point is 01:04:26 about AI where it was about events that weekend and, um, the concert that they went to. And then he met. He met his girlfriend there or his, I guess, his future wife there. That was a pretty good commercial. Yeah, of course. Nothing, nothing will get you out there and help you find your wife more than just AIing nonsense.
Starting point is 01:04:48 I am embarrassed to admit this. You know what I, like, there was a period in May when I was using the chat, GBT, for like the illustrations, you know, that they would do of, people like I would take photos of my father-in-law or my mother-in-law and like you know how they did the action figure with that and my father-in-law was getting a kick out of that right and so I would have him with like a fishing rod and a real estate sign and it was like so you put the picture in and you say create like an action figure off off this image with the following signs it was all over social media and so I was I was enjoying doing that you know it was pretty cool to
Starting point is 01:05:33 see. I'm still a Googler more than... Will you acknowledge that the quality of Google has dropped precipitously? I never look at the AI summary. Like I Google the click on links. But even that has gotten worse. In terms of like the SEO part of it. Yeah, but I'm a pretty good...
Starting point is 01:05:56 Even Google News is bad now. Yeah, I'm more of an Apple News guy, if I'm being honest with you. But yeah. Yeah. It's like most things, they make it so that you have no choice but to use it, and then they make it worse and you have nowhere else to go. I think that you're generalizing. I think there's a lot of, I think AI could,
Starting point is 01:06:23 it could enhance a lot of projects that you do. It could expedite things. There are things that it can be useful for. Absolutely. Yeah. It does not need to be. foisted upon us at every turn without any choice, especially when it is not ready for prime time. It's really good at like, you know, diving through your code or whatever it is.
Starting point is 01:06:44 If you're a developer or whatever. Yeah. It's not good at the stuff that it's being like shoved down our throat to be the only choice for. Sure. Sure. No, you're right. But I actually did put in to chat, to chat, GBT. like tell me about the P. H.L. Y. Eagle Show. And they actually had very favorable things to say about
Starting point is 01:07:08 us. I see how bad it is. Oh, they were, I think they found a Reddit form that was talking about our show. There's some Reddit forms that don't talk so kindly about our show, but there are some that there are plenty that do. Okay. I'm sure you haven't navigated them. By the way, there was, I found a Reddit form recently that, that you did, like you did an AMA on Reddit, years ago. Years and years ago, yeah. I found that. So what, you were searching my name on Reddit? I forget how that came. I think it came up as a recommendation. Like all of your all of your posts.
Starting point is 01:07:41 Boy, that's Bull Wolf guy. Someone knowing that's the show. That's not me saying. That's not me saying that. No. We have another super chat. Yes. That just came in.
Starting point is 01:07:56 From you scroll up, Tyler. Sorry. From me, Claire. Please, Osprey's week of July 27th since I am solo. Thank you. Don't know what you're talking about, Claire. Nothing to announce on that front. There we go.
Starting point is 01:08:12 My friend Sean texted me last week saying he has a lot of like real life situations that he wants to run by. Bow me. Should he send him the Julia? Should he tell me directly? And so. You have one? Yeah. Let me see if I could, if I get one here.
Starting point is 01:08:31 If you can fill time. This is your answer to all the love. that the mailbag segment was getting on the Philly special that you were upset about. Okay. So here is, so here is, is one. Okay. Okay. He said there's a part here that might not make it into the show.
Starting point is 01:08:52 That's up to you in this moment. Okay. Taking an Uber to the airport. The driver is an awful driver to the point. The driver's dangerous. The driver. Happened a couple times. The driver does not speak English.
Starting point is 01:09:07 that's just like you know I'm just setting the scene here so it's not someone you're having a conversation I imagine okay I want to support him during this time given all that's going on but he's really a terrible driver what should I do from a rating
Starting point is 01:09:24 and tip perspective more curious about how Bo would answer this than you so yeah I think the I think the right thing to do there given the way you feel I think you got it, you got to ding him on the ratings, maybe give him zero or one stars if it's that bad
Starting point is 01:09:46 as something of a warning to other drivers and for him to know that he was not being safe, and then you can still tip him what you would normally tip. Okay. How about you? Yeah, I think that's the way to do. Yeah, I don't buck on the tip. So I would probably do the tip because, yeah,
Starting point is 01:10:04 I want to support the guy, but I would... I remember famously who did. When I got one they, in that Panthers game in 2017, when the lift driver ran over my foot, still gave him five stars. There you go. But he was otherwise driving normally. I'm not a raider. Really?
Starting point is 01:10:21 Yeah, I never rate. I probably should because I read podcast rating. So I want people to rate and review. Here's another one. Well, we can end on this. Okay. And I haven't read this one yet. So I hope there's nothing here that's concerning.
Starting point is 01:10:33 I probably should have given a pseudo name instead of saying who gave this. Here's another. You're in the boarding line at the. airport. A normal looking woman in her in her mid-50s comes up to you and says that she's deeply concerned because last night she had a dream that this plane was going to crash and two things that were in the dream this morning had already happened. She says she knows she sounds crazy, but she advises you not to get on the flight. Her last warning is that it is a flight attendant with a very specific pin is on the flight that she says you need to get off the plane. You walk on the plane
Starting point is 01:11:01 and that same flight attendant that the lady described is on the plane. What do you do? I'm getting off the plane. Really? If it's that specific and there's the pin thing and that hits, yeah, I'm out. I mean, the pin is a very general thing to, to predict, right? I mean, I would have to judge the interaction with the woman. Yeah. But yeah, I think if the pin thing hits, I think I'm probably out. That's good.
Starting point is 01:11:31 That's good for me. Yeah, I mean, I think deductive reasoning can get you to a certain point of like describing a flight attendant. And so they probably, you know, you have the pain, you can say dark hair, blonde hair, whatever may be,
Starting point is 01:11:45 red hair, whatever it may be, right? Yeah, but if you leave the plane, the, the downside is, you got to book into the plane,
Starting point is 01:11:54 you look like a fool, you're alive. If you don't, the downside is you die. I have this debate with friends and family members like, it's more dangerous
Starting point is 01:12:10 the drive on 76 home than it is to ever get on an airplane. Of course. And so, yeah, I'm never worried about I'm taking my chances. Yeah, I'm usually not a nervous fly. Yeah. But in that specific instance,
Starting point is 01:12:25 if that thing happens and she warns about another thing and then that hits, I think I'm probably scared off. Guys, they made like four movies telling you why it's a bad idea to not listen to the premonition. Yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 01:12:39 You're right. Yeah. Now, like, do you follow your dreams, Tyler? You know, if you have a dream, like, do you try to make sense of what it is? You write it down? Do you remember dreams? Uh, for the most part, no. My dreams are just weird.
Starting point is 01:12:56 Okay. Like, nonsensical stuff. Yeah. No, I don't. It's more like just not, like, it's not like frightening or anything. It's just like nonsensical. I wake up. I'm like, what the?
Starting point is 01:13:05 Yeah. was that? It's like me and Zach, our heads are on each other's bodies. Yeah, right. That's actually probably a good example. Like, yeah, so no, I would say probably not. I ask the three people in my house every morning what they dreamed, what they dreamt, and none of them remember.
Starting point is 01:13:20 I remember every one of my dreams. Really? Yes. Yeah, everyone in my dreams. You can't say that for certain. You wouldn't remember the ones that you don't remember. True. But I wake up in the morning and I remember what I.
Starting point is 01:13:32 And do you write them down? I typically don't write them down. I try to figure out why you just like you remember several dreams or you just oh no I remember like the highlight right like the one sentence summation of like specific moments what was last night's dream I don't uh last I don't want to discuss last night's dream um but I I do remember can you give us a recent dream a recent dream that I I remember are they all like sort of face in reality I had a dream recently that this is so weird. And I thought it actually happened.
Starting point is 01:14:10 I had a dream that a friend of mine from college, a great guy, he's an author. I don't want to say who it is. Respect all authors. Okay. That he sent me a G-chat, which I haven't used G-chat. Oh, G-chat was good. Yeah, G-chat was great.
Starting point is 01:14:28 Back with technology. He sent me a G-chat about someone else that we went to college with. Okay. And it was so specific what he said in the G-chat that I thought it actually happened. And so to the point that I later that morning, I went and I checked my G-chats and it did not happen. So I don't know what made me think about that, but that was a very specific thing. Can you tell us what the thing that happened was? And since we don't know any of the people involved, was it insidious?
Starting point is 01:14:56 Was it? It was a journalism thing about someone else that we went to college with. Was it, did they, were they plagiarizing? Was it, uh, no, it was like, can you believe what this person, how this person acted in, in this situation. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:13 Yeah. Uh, anyways. Yeah, that, that, but yeah, no, I, I, I, I dream and I remember my dreams. Okay. All right. Good stuff, everybody. Thank you, Tyler. Uh, thanks everybody for watching and listening.
Starting point is 01:15:31 in the chat. Back tomorrow, 2 o'clock ranking the coaching staffs across the NFL. I think we're actually just going to do 11 through 19. Is that right? No. We have a quick NBA trade here. Oh.
Starting point is 01:15:49 The New Orleans Pelicans are trading C.J. McComb, Kelly Olinick, and a future second round pick to the Washington Wizards for Jordan Poole, Sidique Bay, and the number 40 pick. What do you make of that? Well, so I've been working my ESPN trade machine or my real GM trade, all the different trade machines,
Starting point is 01:16:06 trying to figure out potential wizard Sixers trades because I would like to see the Sixers trade from three, the sixth that gets six and 18. And I was wondering if they can get Sadiq Bay in that deal too. So Sidic Bay is off the table. There you go. I will just say this to you because I think that you will enjoy it. CDP says he once had a dream that he came up with a play so unstoppable that the league had to ban it.
Starting point is 01:16:32 They had to change of sheets. The changes of sheets. Okay. There was one other thing I wanted to ask you, but I can save it for the next show. Just use it to lose it. All right. I didn't text you this last night because I didn't see it until this morning when I woke up. Little disappointment early on this.
Starting point is 01:16:48 So my son and I are going Saturday to the Club World Cup. Oh. Okay. And we were really hoping to see Messi. Yeah. He's got a pink messy jersey. He was excited. More pink, good for you.
Starting point is 01:17:01 Yeah. He thinks it's a trippy color. It is a drippy color. He loves... You wouldn't be contented. He wears a San Diego Padres, City Connect jersey. Okay, that has the pink sleeve.
Starting point is 01:17:11 Okay, so I wanted to ask you this on the show. Woke up this morning, I saw that it was a two-two draw, and so unfortunate, I was personally hoping to see... Sure, that would have been great. To see Miami versus Paris, okay? Yeah. Instead, I'm getting two teams from Brazil, which I don't know as much about Brazilian.
Starting point is 01:17:35 Botafogo and Palmerish? Yes. Okay. But then I was reading this this morning, this is going to be like a really intense crowd. Yeah. This is going to, you know, that the Brazilian fans have really been big supporters during the Club World Cup. Yeah. That the Northeast Corridor has a strong Brazilian population.
Starting point is 01:17:54 And that like this is going to be an amazing. This tournament means much more to that. Yeah. That this is going to be an amazing. amazing atmosphere and that these two Brazilian teams playing against each other is going to be like an awesome environment. I know you from going to Rio last year is very aware of Brazilian soccer. What like what should I tell Reed about this? And I should also know that when I went to Brazil last year, I bought him the jersey from the rival team of players. So he should not wear
Starting point is 01:18:23 that one. No, definitely don't do that. What should he, he has a USA jersey. what should he wear to this? So A, what environment should he expect? Who should he root for? And what should he wear? Well, if he's got the, what is it, the Corinthians jersey? Yes, he's got the Corinthians jersey.
Starting point is 01:18:43 He can't be ruined for Palmehrish. He can be ruined for Boathe Fogh. But he shouldn't be, he shouldn't wear that. No, he shouldn't wear that. That's probably a good idea. I mean, I don't think it would really matter, but that's, that's probably smart. Yeah, I think what is fun about this tournament,
Starting point is 01:18:55 which I have been paying a little bit of attention to, is that yeah the the the south american teams they care a lot more about this tournament right because the the teams from europe are already regarded as among the best in the world they've also just finished their season they're a little bit tired this is their off season whereas the south american teams are in the middle of their season so they're in better form they've performed well um and like the brazilian teams this is a chance to prove that they are actually like on the level of some of the best teams in the world and yeah i would
Starting point is 01:19:24 imagine that that because those are now they're not direct rivals right but uh I imagine that that will be a great atmosphere. Plus, presumably the teams know each other well. So you'll get a high quality match. I think that will be more fun of a viewing experience, but it would have been cool to see messy. See messy. So should he go neutral?
Starting point is 01:19:41 I think he could wear, yeah. I mean, he could wear his messengers if you want. I think that's fine. Okay. You know, just a soccer fan. Yeah. Yeah. Cool.
Starting point is 01:19:48 Cool. All right. I'm curious. Yeah. Let's be fun. Yeah. Let's be fun. Hearing how it goes.
Starting point is 01:19:52 Anyone who's in the chat, who's going to that game, look out for my son and me. will be in the top deck. And I don't know if it's going to be that hot on. I hope it's not this hot, but noon game. I'm excited for that. I hope you find some shade. I hope so too. Avoid the arcade.
Starting point is 01:20:13 Yeah, we're not. If there was an arcade, we would not be going to that. All right. Thanks, everybody, for spending your time with us this afternoon. We will talk to you tomorrow at 2 o'clock. And as always, we love you.
