to the PHAY Eagles podcast live from the Xfinity Studio,
presented by Bet365 and True Mark Financial Credit Union Bow Wolf,
E.J. Smith, two days away from the season opener, E.J., how you feel it?
I am feeling pretty good.
I'm definitely in that NFL beatwriter mindset where I don't know what day of the week it is.
A little phone off.
Oh, football guy.
It's a Friday.
Petulah says it's Friday yesterday.
It's actually Monday.
It's classic.
But I am excited for the show.
I'm excited to talk some Eagles Cowboys.
week one you know a lot of energy one feels good two days away we haven't talked in a while yeah and
i just got dusted in a nostril flare off you came at me like you know i'm i'm the big head honcho
in the nostril flaring game you don't know what you're dealing with here this is amazing podcasting
here i don't know you're not go to i mean a go-to trick on the on the schoolyard you're not
hitting it as good as you were before the show i think you're i think the lights oh please lights are too
bright for you no you want to go let's go let's go head
head here. So you can't, oh, who can't handle it now? You can do it a lot faster than me.
You're goddamn right. It's not bad. You're an 85th percentile nostril flare.
You can't come at me. There you go. Okay, E.J.'s up. No, Bo.
Oh, okay, pretty quick. You've got like some action like in your throat going there too.
Justin, you know that Fran is not always, he's a truth teller.
He likes to come at me when he needs to.
And even he's in the chat saying,
Bo is an excellent nostril flare.
It's a tough way to start the show for me.
Listen, this is the kind of hard hitting football analysis
that you can only get on the PHY Eagles podcast.
Now, one other thing to tell you about,
it is September, first show of September.
September is the giving month for our friends,
our partners at Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
So you will see on the YouTube today on the show.
Beneath the show, there's a donation button.
If you feel generous enough, if you feel so moved,
now is a wonderful time to give some money to the good folks
at Big Brothers, Big Sisters,
obviously making an important difference in the community
and was good to make the Ospreys a big thing in support of them.
So do what you can do for them.
Okay. News from the practice field. We have not talked since Friday, EJ. A lot has happened since then. You've seen some practice, like a little bit of it. You have talked to players in the locker room and both coaches as well. Give me first where we stand on the injury front ahead of Thursday night.
Yeah, well, I mean, aside from Tanner McKee, who hasn't been throwing in practice, I'd say that Landon Dickerson is probably the one that I am most, I mean, most keeping an eye on. The one I'll be most interested to see what his designation is.
on the injury report.
He was, he practiced on Sunday without any limitation.
Let me say this.
No injury report.
There was no injury report.
So he did not seem limited on Sunday, but he was not at practice on Monday, not for any
injury, but for a back injury.
He was not present at practice at all.
He was at practice today on Tuesday.
But again, and the other thing is Nick Siriani was asked about Landon Dickerson said
that the fact that the knee wasn't listed on the injury report is indicative that it would
not have held him out of practice. So it's a subtle distinction, but like the fact that the knee,
it's important. It's important because it means that the knee would not have kept him out of team drill.
So the meniscus surgery that he had last month, that seems like it is, you know, progressing well.
Is he 100%? I think that's a very valid question to ask. And then the next question.
It's definitely not 100%. Right. And then the next question that you get to is, is this back injury a
compensatory injury. I don't have the answer to that. The knee bone is not connected to the backbone,
but it's putting more stress on your back,
potentially because of the fact that you maybe can't use your leg,
your right leg of the same way that you would.
So I don't know.
My guess is he plays because we've talked about how tough he will play.
This is a guess because of how tough he is,
because of how tough he is,
because of the fact that he was out there for Tuesday's practice,
I would guess that he plays.
The question then becomes like,
what does he look like playing?
Is he limited?
Like, is that worth it?
Like, listen,
I am not wired like a football player, obviously.
Leonard Dickerson, I'm sure, if he thinks he can play is going to play.
He wants to be out there.
He feels like he owes it to his teammates.
He also wants to be out there just for himself.
Yeah.
But from an Eagles perspective, from a top-down perspective,
without knowing the specifics of the injury,
like, man, they don't play another game after this for another 10, 11 days.
That's a great point.
In service of, like, this team being at its best in the long run,
I sure would want to rest him for,
for one game if he's dealing with all of a sudden a backer injury too like yeah i don't know
that's even how i feel even just the meniscus like i don't again we are not under the illusion
that lannin dickerson's suddenly healed from this meniscus and he's got the sleeve on his leg and
i think this is going to be a situation where he has to tough it out this season you add the back
again wondering if they're connected you do wonder if it's if it's worth it at some point i still think
you're probably feeling like he is a better a better option than brett tauter matt prior at
spot. I think it's important to note that Brett Tooth took the reps at left guard during individual
periods, which is all that we can see this time of year. I think it'll kick us out before team
nowadays. But, you know, I still think there's probably an argument to be made that he is a
better option even at 60%. But again, like the long term risk that you're taking on by playing him
through these two injuries now, it is noteworthy for sure. Yeah, that will be interesting. You mentioned
McKee, who has not practiced. Yeah, he's been out there. I think it's going to be Sam Hal.
as the backup quarterback.
And I think McKee will be the emergency third?
Or will they have to elevate Kyle McCourt?
Or will they just roll the dice?
I think they probably elevate Kyle McCourt.
I mean,
McKee has been out there at practice,
but he has not been handling a football with his right hand.
He has been like snapping the ball to the other quarterbacks or like, you know,
I saw a picture of him from Martin Frank today where he's holding the ball in his left hand,
like with his right hand up next to it,
kind of like he's almost mimicking,
mimicking like a throwing motion or, you know,
at least going through some of the mental reps.
the stat side of things.
But yeah,
I feel like if he can't handle a football,
he's not your emergency quarterback.
I kind of think he will still be the emergency quarterback.
I think so.
You think just like,
catch the ball.
If it gets all the way down to that,
I mean,
he's not on IR.
So it must be a matter of pain tolerance
to some degree,
right?
And so if it gets to an emergency situation
where they've lost both other quarterbacks,
I feel like more confident with him.
You could tough it out.
Also because I expect they want to,
Well, first of all, I would be more confident in him than Comacord.
Yeah.
And second of all, I think roster-wise, I think they're probably going to try to promote two other guys anyway.
That's a good point.
Yeah, because you've got Covey.
And to be the emergency, the quarterback, you have to be on the active roster.
No, I think they changed that rule.
Really?
Yeah, I think that they changed that rule.
It used to be that way.
Huh.
There was some talk in the media house about that yesterday.
Okay.
Interesting.
Okay, well, then maybe not.
But still, that would be one of the promotions.
Yeah.
Who's your other promotion?
I'm missing somebody.
It's Covey and then who?
Maybe Marcus Epp?
Maybe Patrick Johnson for special teams was listed as limited on the injury report.
Well, that's the other one we need to talk about because that informs who's going to start here and that is all speculation as well.
Three defensive positions listed as like slashes on the depth chart.
Talk to Vic Fangio yesterday.
He's he's playing coy as much as he can.
So tell me this.
Linebacker, second corner, and safety.
Who do you think starts and rank?
them in order of how sure you are that that's the correct answer.
So I'll start with linebacker, which is where I feel mostly confident that Jahad Campbell
will get the start and get most of the snaps.
I found it interesting that Vic Fangio was asked about would he rotate those linebackers?
Would he rotate that position?
Yeah, that's interesting.
And he, again, he's very like blunt about things.
And he was just like, nah, I don't really want to.
Yeah.
You know, that's not the plan.
So tough for Jeremiah Trotter Jr., I would say.
Tough draw.
Yeah, he, I mean, it really is like he just, he didn't give them a reason to, to put Jehad Campbell over him on the depth chart.
Jehad Campbell just went out and earned it.
Yes.
By the nature of him having more physical traits and just being a little bit higher upside at that spot.
I also think that does, I mean, listen, we, we expected it was going to be Jehad Campbell anyway.
Yeah.
He also didn't play in the third preseason game and Jeremiah Trader did.
Like, it's been trending this direction.
But it also, I mean, that does kind of give it away because if Jahad Campbell wasn't going to be starting.
they would rotate.
He's going to get in there at some point.
So you're going to want to get him some snaps.
So the fact that they're not going to rotate,
I think it's pretty clear that it's going to be those two guys.
Yeah, so I feel pretty good about that one.
And I also think that that's the right decision.
Yeah, I agree.
I think that the Zach Bond,
Jahad Campbell experience, we've talked about it.
I think that those two guys offer a lot of versatility
and a lot of options to Vic Fangio.
So no, I think it makes sense.
Again, Jihad Campbell earned that job.
He was one of the best players in training camp
in terms of improving his stock,
improving the way that you viewed him going in versus how he left.
So, yeah, I think that he'll be the starter at linebacker at corner.
Now, is this where you are the second most?
Macuba, if Macuba were healthy, I think I'd put safety last.
But I think, I think I'm leaning.
I don't know.
We disagreed on this yesterday.
I know, but that was before he was limited in practice.
Yeah.
Yesterday, I thought Maccuba might be the week one starter.
But the fact that he's limited makes me feel.
I do now lean Sidney Brown.
Also, like, let's, so let's do this now.
I want to read the tea leaves.
Because, again, these guys aren't going to say much about he's going to start it
outside corner.
But let's read between the lines on some of these quotes that make me think that Adori
Jackson will be the second cornerback.
I feel pretty confident that it's going to be Adoree.
So Nick Siriani was asked specifically about Adori Jackson.
And he went on about how he is sticky in coverage and he's always around the ball.
And then he mentioned the fact that Adori Jackson can shadow receivers and said that that is
something that the team will need this week against a good receiving and tight end core.
So to me, that sounds like Quinnian Mitchell might travel and Adori Jackson might be a valuable
player because he can play on both sides of the field.
They're comfortable with that.
And then, because you might say, well, E.J., like maybe that's a smokescreen.
I still think that Jacori and Bennett could be the option at outside corner.
It might be a better option at outside corner.
Vic Fangio on Jacori and Bennett.
I like him.
He's got good speed.
got a good attitude. He's got a good football brain of that, showing some good cover ability.
I'm sure he'll be out there at some point this season. Could be this one too. So to me, that sounds like,
I mean, I think it aligns with our reading of that position, which is that it feels like Adori
Jackson's the week one starter at outside corner. It feels like Jacori and Bennett could be the option
at some point down the road, especially if Adoree Jackson gives them a reason to make a change.
I think Jacori and Bennett is kind of that next one up at that position going to the
season. I think I agree with you
that it's Adori Jackson and I do have to tell you
this feels like
who's going to start for the Eagles. It's kind of a big deal, right?
Yeah. It's the big deal.
Presented by our good friends at
Cherry Hill Kia.
Listen, I know some people
buy Kia as elsewhere. I don't know
why. Cherry Hill Kia is the
place to go.
I do think it's going to be a Dori. Now, the
Vic Fangio's saying Jacorian's going to get worked
in at some point probably.
I thought was also kind of giving it away
and informative.
Yeah.
But it also,
it tracks with,
I didn't play in the last preseason game.
The other guys did.
Yeah.
I am,
I would put at,
you know,
at like 90 turkeys.
Oh,
you go 90.
Right now.
Yeah,
I could,
the Devin White experience from last year
would make me a little bit.
Fair.
I mean,
I'll still be,
listen,
I'll still be in the press box
looking at the seven-on-seven reps to see who's out there.
And I think it will be Adori,
but I could see a surprise.
So I might go like 7580.
I'll go a little bit softer on that.
That's Adore.
You were in a singing mood today.
Yeah.
Why not?
Like I said, it's week one.
Week one.
Everyone's excited.
Come on.
Okay, safety.
Safety's my last one.
If Andrew McCuba,
if Andrew McCuba just didn't hurt his hamstring,
I think this would have been sewn up.
Me too.
He had that, after the Brown's preseason game,
he really had that momentum going.
You got all the first team reps.
Uncle Mo.
Are you a big about momentum guy?
I love Uncle Mo.
Okay, all right. Some people don't believe in momentum.
Well, it's not that I believe in momentum. I just love the phrase Uncle Mo. Okay. So you're not a big momentum guy then.
I think momentum deniers are
Not necessarily in the right either, but I also think momentum proponents are
Incorrect. I feel like it's a little bit like the difference between an atheist yelling in your face and someone who's agnostic just been like I don't know nobody knows. Okay.
Yeah, that's fair. I get that. I think that it matters. I think it informs, like, I feel like in a game.
All I know is I'd rather have Uncle Moe on my side. Yeah, I feel. Sounds a little weird.
Why? I don't know. Just didn't hit my ear in the right way. Uncle Moe is invited over any night.
Oh, you know what? You know why? It's a succession joke.
Oh, yeah, that's right. I forgot about Mo. Yeah, Mo Lester. That's right. I forgot about that.
Yeah, that hit my ear and it was like, yeah, yeah, okay.
I feel like to sew up the Uncle Mo discussion here,
I feel like momentum is important in a game.
I feel like there are instances in a game where you need,
especially if you have a team that is not, you know,
necessarily battle tested or adversity, you know, handling adversity well,
I think momentum, I think momentum really does matter.
Ratchets up the pressure if things aren't going well.
Yeah, I mean, there's a, it's a longer,
I feel like theoretical discussion.
it's like it's not a quantifiable thing but I do like it going into a game like this I feel like I don't think that week to weak momentum is necessarily
around two teams going into a game.
I think, you know, if it, if it affects the way that the guys on the field are playing,
then it's a real thing.
Yeah, no, I agree.
And I feel like, you know, if you watch, if Nukobi has a huge hit and all of a sudden
that makes you, like, you know, I don't know, there's a bit of a change.
Urgency.
Even just like you're on a losing streak and you feel like you have to, you have to get out of it.
We've seen instances like that where a team is a little bit more desperate.
So, no, I think it matters.
Okay.
All of that is to say that you think Sidney Brown is going to play because Andrew McCuba is
lost a moment.
Yeah, because I, Sydney Brown didn't have a bad training camp.
I feel like we just sort of, and I feel like we, we sort of discount him because Andrew
McCuba is kind of the new guy and he was drafted by the Fangio coaching staff.
What it drafted with the Fangio coaching staff in place, he seems maybe more like a better
fit stylistically for what they want at that safety spot.
But at the same time, Sidney Brown had a solid camp.
And yeah, I think that with the time that Andrew McCuba missed, I feel like Sydney
Brown should probably, I would, I would guess he would.
be the week one starter.
I think this is another one that Andrew McCuba might be the week six starter,
but he might be the week two starter.
Week four.
Yeah,
I was going to say week four.
I decided to couch it was six.
But yeah,
I think that Andrew McCuba will eventually start.
I thought it was interesting that Vic Fangio said that he's further along than Cooper de Gene was
after missing time.
I thought there was a very important.
Yeah,
it's very telling that I think that they want to get this guy on the field.
I think they see the theoretical upside,
especially a player that can take the ball away.
We saw it in the preseason game.
I think they'll want him on the field.
but yeah, I just don't think he's quite ready
because of the timing list.
I don't know that I agree that Sydney Brown's had a good camp.
I mean, I think he's been fine.
Yeah, I think fine is fine.
I think the things that you're worried about with him,
you can't really see in camp.
True.
But I'm also willing, like, you know,
this is the Fangio, I'm not going to put a ceiling on a guy.
Like, I'm willing to believe that Sidney Brown, you know,
came in last year and like he was playing from behind,
not having had any offseason reps,
in the defense and then he was still banged up.
And then as he told me this summer,
he then got injured again and was playing through something else
after he returned from the first injury.
So he is a healthy player now.
He's a smart guy.
I think there's every possibility that he could play well.
But it does feel like the fact that they,
you know, with Vic at the helm,
drafted McCuba in the second round,
makes you feel like it's only a matter of time.
Yeah, I mean, I just,
I had to remind myself,
those guys are drafted two spots apart in the draft.
Brown was 66 overall.
Maccuba was 64th overall.
Again, different coaching staff.
But I don't know.
It is like, is there at least a possibility
that Sidney Brown runs away with the job?
I think there's a possibility
that he's good enough to hold Maccuba off.
But where they're drafted is less informative
than they already had Sidney Brown
and then used a second round pick on Maccuba.
Yeah, I will be intrigued to see Sidney Brown
if he is a starter week one.
And by the way, I think Andrew McCuba
can still get on the field if he's healthy.
Like, if he's clear to play.
Exactly.
He's been the dime defensive back,
and I could see them using him in that role.
I think that he is well suited for that role.
And that might be like his graduation into the defense
is kind of earning it with those dime snaps.
Okay.
Well, that'll do it for the big deal presented by Jerry Hill Key.
Anything else on the injury front to keep an eye out on or personnel-wise?
Who's going to be the returner to think?
I think it's Britt and Covey.
You think they'll just elevate Covey.
Chance to talk to the BC man.
I mean, just in passing, welcome back.
You know, Britain Covey, he is like a hot commodity in the Eagles locker room.
Yeah, it's true.
He's so friendly and like, it's like almost at like the expense of his time when the reporters are in there.
Because it's like, yeah, there's usually a line.
So I haven't gotten a chance to talk to him in depth yet about his experience in L.A.
and just see how he's doing.
But yeah, I gave him a welcome back.
You know, I said welcome back, Britain.
Okay.
Any other good stories from the locker room this week?
Did you see the Adori Jackson thing about Cooper to Gene?
No.
You didn't see this?
No.
He said he was asked about Cooper to Gene being versatile enough to play outside corner, nickel, safety.
And he's like, yeah, that boy, he got a little melanin in him.
That's pretty good.
And then my favorite thing is after that, he said that he had told Cooper that before.
And he's like, I don't know what the gene, what nationality that is.
But he said, it might be Creole because that boy.
He got something to him that we just don't see,
which I enjoyed that.
I thought that was funny.
Dory Jackson,
he's a good interview.
He's funny.
I'm going to figure out how to get him in the Wolfstown.
Super chat from Justin.
TIA for another season of relentless coverage.
E.J.
makes an already elite duo of Bowen,
even better,
mostly since there are no Fab Five references now.
That's uncalled for.
I don't even know what you're talking about,
Justin,
but that's uncalled for.
But thank you for the kind words.
Thank you, Justin.
But Justin's a Michigan state, man.
So that's why.
Fair, fair.
Shout out to Justin.
Okay.
Reset.

For the game on Thursday night,
so we bring in our friend Jeff Kavanaugh
from D-L-L-S.
Jeff, it has been a quiet couple days
down in Dallas, huh?
How we doing?
Oh yeah, yeah, it's always quiet down here.
Yeah, I mean, we call me when the agent of a guy who's not on your team anymore is making the rounds doing first take.
That's what we have going on right now.
It's insanity.
But we're used to it.
This is the show we enjoy.
You guys want to win the Super Bowl?
We want to be on TV.
There you go.
That is a very Dallas spin.
Now, I mean, honestly, given the trade and what I imagine the reaction has been from Cowboys fans, like, is this game on Thursday,
night kind of secondary?
Is it kind of like not the most pressing thing for Cowboys fans right now?
No, I don't think that's true.
And I desperately want to tomorrow, Thursday and the rest of the season.
I want to so badly.
Once we get to football, not let the really bad general manager distract from the main thing,
which is the football.
I hope this is the last day of it, but it had like it pops back up when
Micah Parsons agent is on first take because Jerry's been lying about things for months,
including his own, like things about him individually.
Like, he deserves to have that moment to go on and correct that.
And so it's like, okay, well, now that's happened.
Now we've got two days.
We have two days to get ready for a football game and then we'll be football ready.
Owner of the Cowboys, best owner in the history of sports.
GM of the Cowboys, worst GM in the history of sports.
So here we go.
All right.
Well, let's talk about the game then.
Let's flip to it.
Let's start with the Cowboys defense since that's where, you know,
there has been the subtraction and the monumental edition of Kenny Clark,
which has changed the face of this Cowboys front.
We know how much they struggled to stop the run last season.
Are you expecting them to be better on that front this year?
They were about as bad as you could possibly be last year.
So I would think just random variance gives you a chance to be better than that.
I don't think that they'll be,
I don't think there'll be a good run defending team.
And I'll tell you what,
I'm going to tell you secret.
Dang it.
I'm going to do it again.
Ica's gone.
Stop talking about Micah.
Micah's a better run defender than people give him credit for.
If you say Micah Parsons can't stop the run,
you haven't watched Micah Parsons play football.
Is he a consistent point of attack?
We're coming right at you.
I'm going to stand here,
shed this block and make a play?
No, but he'll do that some.
And then he'll beat a block real quick some.
Like, he's not a worthless run defender.
So now adding Kenny Clark, it upgrades you a defensive tackle in two ways.
One, because Kenny Clark is still a good football play.
And two, they didn't have another NFL defensive tackle on their entire roster,
really, outside of Osso Diggi, Zua.
So at least you have the opportunity that they could be solid with at least their top two defensive tackles.
But the rest of the guys that they're running out there, I just, I think the Cowboys need a lot of
really positive answers to either unprovens or looking for bounceback or like guys in that lane
that I don't know how many times do you think you're going to get heads when you flip a coin.
Jack Sandborn, I like him.
Like I think he's a nice player.
I think he deserves a chance to start at linebacker and see what he can do.
It is a career backup so far.
So to pretend that that's Fred Warner, okay.
Kenneth Murray, they were desperate to get rid of and the Cowboys were anxious to acquire.
and he's had his struggles and run defense.
So I, you know, I think there's a lot of ways
where you are really hoping that guys are better
than who they've been in the past,
deserved an opportunity to haven't gotten it,
things like that.
I think the Cowboys will probably still struggle to run defend,
is what I'm saying.
Jeff, I wanted to ask you about the pass rush side of things
for the Cowboys front.
You know, we are waiting to see if Landon Dickerson
is going to be available for this game.
You mentioned Ossa Degazua.
Is he the primary guy who might benefit
from Dickerson either missing the game?
or if he does play being potentially limited along that interior.
I guess,
well, how do you view the pass rush post parsons against the Siegel's pass game?
I think it went from,
it went from a group that I felt like it was about as good as they had.
When you talk about things the Cowboys are going to be good at,
pass rush was the very, very, very, very top of list,
maybe the top two wide receivers,
but it was the very top of the list.
And then I was surprised when we revisit that once Mike has gone.
And I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
I said, well, I really felt really good about their edge group.
have Parsons and then you had, oh, that guy's a nice pass rusher. That's a rookie that I think
can rush the pass. There's a good run defender. It's all, it felt really good. You take Mike
away and I'm like, oh, now it's just a bunch of part-time dudes that you're going to hope can do
more than you think that they can do. O's probably going to have to be the guy. I do think
Kenny Clark played through a bumfoot last year. And I will say this. Like, I'm not a fan of going
to any particular website and just looking up a number grade and being like, oh, that guy,
isn't any good.
Jeff,
you are speaking my language,
my friend.
You are speaking my language.
I went and watched
Kenny Clark play football
last year on that bum foot.
Kenny Clark can play.
Like,
you can take your 50,
whatever,
and just chalk that up
to a bad grader.
Like,
he can still play.
He may be the best
defensive tackle on this football team.
And O's a nice player,
especially as a pass rusher.
So it may be that the best thing
the Cowboys have pass rushing
is on the interior
and that O'S is the guy
that benefits the most.
But they're also,
like,
he's going to be dealing with a whole different world.
Oso Diggi Zua got to be an afterthought.
Now, I don't
think that there's anyone on the roster
that teams are going to, you know, getting ready
in game week go, what are we going to do with this dude?
Which probably makes Osa the closest thing to that.
And so I don't, I worry about
that pass rush. I worry what you're going to be able to do
when you don't have a guy who gets double-teamed every play
and still wins every play.
and now everybody gets to kind of go one on one.
I don't know how it's going to work out.
I want to live in optimism land because, you know, sports fans, like,
it's not fun if you don't believe before a season even starts.
I know we have a lot of fans to get mad at me because I'm not super optimistic right now
about everything.
But, you know, you look at it just across the board.
You look at Eagles, Offensive Line, Cowboys, defensive line.
You say, you go get after that quarterback, right?
And I'm like, yeah, sure.
But the reasoning is because it's week one and I hope they do.
Right. We haven't been proven wrong yet.
Yeah.
With, I mean, there must be at least some optimism that Matt Everflus is a, you know,
a competent defensive coordinator and, you know, maybe was Peter principled as a head coach,
but has some good schematic ideas and can coach ball, right?
Well, even he's going to have to be different than what he's been because, like,
they had a press conference after that trade and said, we weren't going to do this unless
Kenny Clark was involved.
We really wanted to stop the run.
Micah can't stop the run.
Candy Clark can stop the run.
And I'm like, you do realize every single year in the NFL and free agency,
you can get a run stopping defensive tackle for less than $10 million.
Stop pretend you get your best player.
You stop the run.
How about trade?
How about get two ones from a team that's going to be bad?
How about start with that?
Yeah, how about do this at a time when other teams could get involved?
The general manager is the worst in the history of sports.
He's terrible.
He's unqualified.
I hate it.
But anyway, what was the question?
We were talking about.
Oh, I'm even Fluse.
So even Fluse.
So even Fluse.
And the way that they tried to spin it after a terrible trade that they made because Jerry got mad and he says, don't let your money get mad.
Like the justification was, and you know, Fluse can scheme pressure.
So you know what we do?
We immediately go look at his history.
He hates to blitz.
Yeah.
He doesn't want to do it.
And when he does it, he's not successful.
And when they can't, his only answer ever to do it was to trade for a better pass rusher.
So that's made up.
He does not want to scheme pressure.
He does not have a history of scheming pressure.
And the answer was not scheme.
The answer was go find a better player.
Like, it's just everything is.
Sound like the defense could use a Micah Parsons type.
Boy, they should sure use Micah Parsons.
All right.
There is at least, though, on offense, there are things to make Eagles fans scared.
I think the Eagles are not worried about the Cowboys defense.
But to have George Pickens now, which will take attention away from C.D. Lamb,
and open things up, you know, change the space a little bit.
That has got to be where you feel like the Cowboys can hang their hat this year.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I just, I do feel like that's backwards.
I think you can say that they've added a really good number two wide receiver
and that's going to create space for CDLAM.
I think it's more so that just George Pickens will be more able to take advantage of CDLM's existence
than anyone that they have had before.
If you want to change who you're prioritizing stopping and go do that for George Pickens,
I welcome it.
Sure.
But yeah, yeah, yeah, that's the hope is that they're good enough on the offensive line at both tackle spots and pass protecting that you can score 30 on people.
That's what it's going to be.
I mean, I even think at running back, Jaden Blue, the fifth round rookie has explosive ability.
He did what to the rookie?
What did I say?
He's a fifth round rookie.
I thought I said he's fifth round rookie.
No, this is a callback.
Jaden blew the fifth round rookie.
I didn't know that he was allowed to do that.
You know, Christian Wilkins got released for far worse, for far better.
Oh, I don't remember I'm lost.
It's okay.
This is soft.
This is a very sophomore.
Yeah, very sophomore.
Yeah.
Okay.
So anyway, like, and because I also think like the Cowboys, they intentionally accidentally
downgraded at running back to.
Yeah.
Like Rico Dattle is a better player than Javante Williams.
And if they would have waited literally 36 hours instead of just diving into the bottom
of the barrel. They could have signed him for the same amount, but again, front office and
aptitude, the GM's the worst ever. Um, so yeah, what you have is Dak Prescott, C.D. Lamb,
George Pickens, Jake Ferguson's a solid tight end. Devante Turpin is fun and can give you trouble
as a gadget or as a screen guy or as a bye-bye, run fast guy. And, and that's what they got.
What they got is, can we protect this guy and throw bombs? And anything,
anything other than that.
Like, they got a chance to be decent covering.
Trayvon Diggs, it sounds like, might actually be ready to go week one,
which would be insane to talk about a few weeks ago,
which once again, for an office,
he'll never be ready because he's not training with us.
But whatever.
Why am I so mad?
We go throw bombs.
You're doing great.
Don't you feel bad for Miles Sanders?
Like,
at Penn State, it's like, okay, you have to replace Sequin.
You're always going to be compared to Seekwuan.
He goes to the Eagles.
He has a nice little career.
And then the Eagles get that guy who turns into the number one player in football, the best running back season of all time.
And he's got to be there week one when they left the banner.
Like nobody has been like more teammate cucked than Miles Sanders has been by Seekwon Barker.
He has spent a lot of his career in the shadow of Seekwon Barker.
Even like it's got to be like couldn't wear 26 when he got to college because Seekwan had it.
Got it with the Eagles.
And now Seekwons doing better things than that number than I feel bad for him.
It is tough.
Yeah.
All right.
Last thing, Jeff, just big picture here.
You know, the lack of faith in Jerry Jones, like the, you know, the long time since the
Cowboys have tasted, you know, the level of success that you are accustomed to while the Eagles
have now won two Super Bowls in the past decade or whatever.
How much, like, has the Big Brother Little Brother dynamic flipped there?
Like, how do Cowboys fans feel about the Eagles right now?
I think it depends
I mean I think that you know
die hard sports fans are built different
and so I think there's still a lot of cowboy fans
that'll go into this week like you know
screw Philly we're going to kick their butt
y'all suck blah blah blah blah
but I think the dynamic between
more realistic people
one of my best friends on the planet
is an Eagles fan
and we were talking about it the other day
and he was just like I gotta be honest
he's like the world where what you guys did last year
and what it looks like you're going to do this year
he's like, it's not even fun for me.
It's like, I want to talk crap in the group chat,
which I don't even respond.
Yeah.
Because you know, like, it's not even fun.
Sports life isn't fun unless both teams are good.
And, you know, I want to be,
I desperately want to be proven wrong,
because I think it's probably good for viewership
and it's good for the way that people feel around town and all that.
But, I mean, I think the Cowboys are probably barreling down the road
towards eight and nine, nine, and eight,
and the only reason that they could be better than that
is because every time Dax played a healthy season,
they've been better than that.
But I just,
I look at the roster and I'm like,
well,
that's a lot to overcome with a tough schedule and a tough division.
And like,
it's just,
it's a lot to ask.
And so,
yeah,
I think the dynamic is weird where,
you know,
I want the Eagles to lose every game.
Yeah.
But do I want them to lose with passion in my heart?
No,
because I just don't think that it really benefits me anyway.
Yeah.
all right well that's well said
maybe a one on Thursday night changes things though
yes exactly
I went on Thursday night would change everything

All right, back on the P.H.O. Y. Eagles podcast.
I do feel like E.J., if you are in the press box on Thursday night, and Jaden Blue is getting the bulk of the work, you got to take a video for me of the press box announcer saying Jade Unblue the ball carrier.
Very soft work humor on your part. I mean, listen, I knew what I signed up for when I got in the door here.
So I can't say I was surprised.
That's how it all started.
Is Alfred Blue?
Alfred Blue the ball carrier at the link.
That's what he says.
I'll send you the video.
Well, what are you going to do with the video is the question?
Laugh?
I mean, probably make the same joke to myself.
Like, that's got to be a penalty.
I don't know if there's a penalty for that.
Oh, I would imagine that that is.
Unnecessary roughness to some degree.
I'm not going there.
Unsportsman-like conduct.
It's a lot.
Honestly,
no,
I think it's pretty sportsman-like,
honestly.
It's more unsportsman-like than it is unnecessarily rough.
Oh,
I disagree.
I don't know.
Yeah,
I mean,
there could be some necessary roughness in there,
but I mean,
I feel like it is pretty sportsman-like.
He was like rolling through these cowboys topics,
and you just completely derailed a poor guy.
He was nice enough.
To join us to give us the inside scoop
when the Cowboys
and here you are
with your classic software
like as they're running
I hadn't imagined
the dexterity that would require
hadn't imagined
I mean what an athlete
would have to be
well he is the ball carrier
so
it's that's its own conversation
now that's a good way
to not get tackled
you could
the defenders would just be
they wouldn't come near you
they would never see anything like that
I thought we were going to talk about some of my leftover Eagles notes here from the locker room, but
which you can read on all p.gloi.com tomorrow.
If you are a diehard, you got to be a diehard.
If you want to read EJ's working on some notes.
Okay, let's take a step back to game starts in two days.
We got to get there.
The quarterback.
Jalen Hurts, you are a little, there's something that's a little bit interesting to you about like the conversation around him right now and just the way that he seems.
to be approaching this season.
Yeah, I feel like we're starting to see more indications of what he alluded to himself
during training camp that he is a more confident.
I think his demeanor has changed slightly to be more confident and more assured in,
I guess maybe who he is and what his pursuits are.
I don't think Jalen ever lacked for confidence.
You know, I definitely don't think that this is an instance of like somebody who didn't have
the self-belief and now does.
I mean, the guy walks around with like rare breed chains and hats.
Like he clearly has a lot of confidence, but I do think we're seeing maybe him be a little bit more comfortable in his own skin and in the situation that he's in.
You know, somebody who, I mean, listen, I'll say his name.
Our friend, Zach Berman.
I'm sorry, just it's not ringing a bell.
He mentioned, or when he talked to Jalen Hertz or he asked Jalen Hertz on whatever day it was, Sunday.
Sunday. He talked to Jaylen on Sunday about he used the word equity. And Jalen said that's a good word to use. And it's funny because he's talking about the equity that he's built within the Eagles offense. But really he was doing it like in a way that really illustrated the equity that he has in the Eagles building in general. Like I don't know if you saw that he's speaking at like a lectern now. Like he doesn't sit up on the stage at a table anymore. He wanted to stand. So they got him a lectern and you know, they moved everything around so that he can stay.
and during his press conferences instead of sit.
And I think that that is also an illustration again of like this guy can call more shots
at this point.
He can sort of change things to look the way that he wants them to look.
So one of my big questions, I don't necessarily think that this is all of a sudden
going to be an offense authored by Jalen Hertz.
I think we've had conversations before before about the Eagles past game looks the way
that Jalen wants it to look.
He said that himself.
But I am curious like if there eventually is like an action to the reaction to the reaction.
I've talked about this before, where it's like, does the Eagles run game hit a point where
the past game needs to exploit the spaces that defenses are not occupying in order to combat
the run game?
How will that look with a more confident, more self-assured Jalen Hertz?
And again, we've heard from some of his teammates, you know, Seekwon Barkley saying that he does
seem more confident and maybe a little bit looser than he has been in years past.
Yeah, I think the equity point is interesting.
And it does feel if there is a freedom to jail.
It is to some degree a result of he won.
Now he knows that he can push for these.
Like he can push to do things his way.
He doesn't, you know, the straight jacket is off, so to speak, right?
And he knows that he has that sway.
And, you know, we have always heard that like Jalen's biggest defender in the building,
the guy who's most behind him is the owner, is Jeffrey Lurie,
He has always been a Jalen Hertz guy
and maybe the other important stakeholders
have not always been 100% behind him.
And now he knows like he's here.
It's his team to some degree.
And that doesn't mean that like
everybody in the locker room is like lockstep with him.
Sure.
But he's going to do what he wants to do
and there's no one who's going to tell him
not to do it that way, right?
Right.
But I also, I do push back on the idea
that all of a sudden
it's going to be the bombs away offense.
It's going to be the 22 version of the offense.
I don't think so.
Well, the 22 version of the offense, like, that's a snapshot in time that I don't think you can recreate.
I mean, even just like the, how RPO heavy they were, that's not something that you really do in the modern game because of the fact defenses have caught up with it to a certain degree.
Not to say that they won't do it, but it can't be necessarily like the main ingredient of an offense the same way.
But I want to ask you, like, I do feel like a confident Jalen Hertz is a different player than what we saw during the same.
second half of the regular season last year.
I definitely agree with that.
If you tell me that he's going into the season without that apprehension that we saw in
games like, I mean, the Carolina game from last year really stands out as a time where he
really wasn't necessarily willing to pull the trigger, maybe a little bit overly turnover
averse.
He can find that happy medium.
That is really good news for the- If the thing in his brain every time he drops back
is not, don't turn the ball over, don't turn the ball over, then I think that is, I mean,
just from an entertainment standpoint, it's going to be a more.
exciting offense to watch.
So honestly, I think that that is a reason for slight encouragement.
I mean, we are, maybe we're in the weeds here.
Maybe we're reading in between the lines of comments made during press conferences.
But I do think that in general, he has seemed more comfortable.
I won't say confident because, again, he's been confident the whole time.
Yeah, more comfortable.
And if that translates itself into.
Less guarded.
Yeah, yeah.
And why, I mean, for good reason.
I mean, what he's accomplished has it validates a lot about who he is.
You know, we talk a lot about how.
how he has that Michael Jordan, you know, I don't want to say impersonation, but he definitely
takes, he takes certain personality traits away from Michael Jordan, and you can't really do that
like with your full chest if you aren't a champion, right?
Yeah, it's true.
It comes across more like cosplaying.
Right, but as a champion, you can walk that way with a little bit more confidence
and comfortability.
So I just, I do wonder, again, I don't know if when it's going to be, you know, Kevin
Petulot said earlier this week that there will be some new things with the Eagles offense.
You know, there will be wrinkles.
There will be, it depends on obviously matchup dependent and what they see.
But I expect the Eagles offense to look different.
I think part of it might be down to Jalen Hertz being a little bit more comfortable and more confident.
And again, I think that that is a good sign for the Eagles passing game.
Yeah.
I mean, it's like this guy's entire career has been the story of self-confidence.
Yeah.
And like believing in himself more than anybody else does and continuing to sort of one-up his game.
But to do that.
with the knowledge that you're not, you don't have to walk on actually,
you're not, you're not going anywhere probably is a little bit different.
Yeah.
So I think it's, it's something that is on my radar going into this season.
And yet, you know, yesterday the league, the players voted Sequin Barclay as the number one player in the top 100 or whatever.
Yeah, I don't, I think you can overstate these things like, uh, the passion game.
That's, that's the thing is like, it can still be Jalen's team to some degree, but I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I still,
think the Sequin's going to be the focal point of the offense. I agree. I completely agree.
And it makes sense for him to be the focal point of the offense. I am waiting to see if there is
another shoe to drop there midseason, like, you know, an inflection point in the year where it's like,
okay, this needs to become a play action-based scheme or an RPO heavy scheme or something that
is to counteract what defenses will do. And again, it's like, I asked Seekwon about this yesterday.
Like, are you curious to see how defenses, you know, defense of coordinator spent all off-season
and studying your run game.
They've been studying you.
Are you curious to see what new wrinkles they bring?
And he said like they brought wrinkles last year.
You know, they tried to stop it last year.
So I don't,
I think it is maybe oversimplistic to say that there's going to be some code
that defensive coordinators have.
I don't think that's the case,
but I do.
I think it's going to be an offense that centered around Seekwon Barclay at the beginning
of the season.
And then I'm just curious to see how the passing game can take advantage of the space
and the math game that you have to play against Eagles every single week.
You know, Seekone talked about the chess game.
that's played between defensive
and the Eagles offensive.
Well, I mean, Kevin Petulow now, but really the Eagles offense.
I am curious to see how it plays out in the coming weeks.
But again, I think if you're asking me,
like, is Sequine going to have over-under?
I mean, what would you set the over-under at?
20, 20 carries, 25 carries?
Yeah, especially week one.
Yeah, I'm taking the over.
I mean, there's a chance for that game to turn into a shootout.
We'll talk about that probably more tomorrow.
But, yeah, I still think this is a Sequan-Barkley-led offense.
Yeah, I just like, no,
Listen, there's also the part of this, which is difficult when we do a show every day and, you know, we've got to react to the game and everything.
And it's hard for me to remember.
But it is true that, like, the first month of the season, like, these are not the teams that they're going to turn into.
Yeah.
It is, and it is to some degree fact finding for the teams themselves.
Like, you know, we think we've made upgrades here.
We think these schematic changes and tweaks are going to work.
That might not be the case.
we might have to change.
And you think about, I mean, aside from 2022,
which was like just off to the races,
that team was dominant.
Every other Seriani season,
like the team who we thought they were in September
has been wildly different.
Yeah, there's always been that inflection point,
that by week we need to meet
and we need to talk about how to change things up
to write the ship almost.
So yeah, I think that they could be in for that.
I mean, it's going to be a tough schedule.
So you could see a stretch
where they have to rethink it.
And yeah, I mean, they have the firepower offensively to be able to change things up and still have, I mean, even a dominant offense.
So, yeah, it's something, like I said, it's something that is not necessarily a week one topic.
It's more, I think it's going to be something that we see play out over the course of the season.
How many offensive snaps do you think Ben and Van Surmering gets in this game?
Maybe we'll save this for Swooper.
This would be a good Snoop.
Oh, what a tease.
The return of Swooper tomorrow.
I've got some more notes here.
At least one, I really want to hear what you have to say about this.
I'm just going to give the full tease here tomorrow.
I mean, what a show we have coming your way tomorrow.
A nice elongated specific game-by-game preview of the game.
E.J., Fran, the professor returns.
We've got Swooper, the debut.
Can somebody finally unseat the champion?
We're also going to hear from Mina Kimes tomorrow.
I mean, loaded to get you ready for Thursday night.
Do you think Danes is just going to like punch me in the face when he sees me?
Like Dallas Goddard thing, Jordan Love, I'm a Jordan Love guy.
He didn't seem to like that.
I'm a little nervous about that.
I'm excited to meet Danes.
I mean, I don't know.
I'll punch in the face.
I don't know about that.
Not meet Danes.
I'm excited to see Danes.
You have met him.
Yes, I have met Danis.
Okay.
At the Super Bowl.
Nice.
But like, as like a show on air.
But he's, he might be a sparring partner.
But he might beat me up because of some of some of.
of the stuff that I've said in my first couple weeks.
I mean, I'd like to see the odds on that fight if you guys do fight.
I feel like Vegas is behind you.
I'm not a, I don't know if, I mean, I haven't been in, I don't think I've ever really been
in a true, like, fist fight before.
So I wouldn't take my, I wouldn't like my chances.
I did boxing, but, like, not like a true, like.
But just tail of the tape wise.
I mean, you've got some advantages.
Yeah, but they know, he's a big, that small, yeah.
No, but there's an age advantage.
Maybe.
I mean, there is an inch advantage.
But like, I mean, like, I might have the body of like a 50-year-old.
This has seen some things.
You know, maybe he's got some dirty tricks up his way.
We need to know how many fights Dana's has been in.
I'd like to let us know in the comments what you think the, the odds would be on a three-round fight boxing.
Is it just boxing or is it like an adage way?
I don't think, yeah, this is like a back alley fight.
This is a back-alley fight who is the winner?
so you can fight dirty?
Yeah.
I don't know.
I mean,
how dirty?
Maybe I would say
you're the favorite
but I would bet on Dana's.
Somebody asked me what I bench.
Can I answer this?
Sure.
I mean,
I'm totally washed now,
but I would back myself.
I mean,
who won rep maxes?
I could get a few reps
of 225 up.
I'm going to say like 265
is probably my max.
There was a day
in my day,
315, for sure.
Is that high school or?
College.
Okay.
I was very strong in college.
Now I'm totally washed.
I like, I did, I had leg day yesterday.
And it was like in the evening.
Yeah.
And getting out of this chair, I'm dreading it.
It's going to be miserable.
By the time, by the time, like, I get home, my legs are going to be.
Is that every leg day for you or is it just because you haven't done one in a while?
No, I do it semi regularly.
But, you know, when you start, like, if you're really training, I feel like you're probably sore no matter what happens.
So, but no, I'm totally washed.
Like on the hack squat machine, I try to put like two plates on each side.
who am I kidding these days
come on
I'm not saying
I mean nobody's
nobody's giving me like
you know EJ minus 125
or anything like that
I'm curious what the people think
and hopefully we'll find out
a little bit more
in overtime
you didn't sell bovertime
you got to sell it more than that
I mean you got to vary it up
you can't do it you do it the same every time
then you know it's
it's not as exciting
yeah all right
Fair.
You gotta keep him,
keep him guessing.
Yeah, I don't know.
Maybe, maybe it would be pretty cool
if Dana has just started the show tomorrow
coming at you, like,
tackled you and just won the fight.
I don't know if I would enjoy that.
I don't think it's a good thing.
Listen, he's going to,
he's going to destroy me with swooper entries and rules.
So he doesn't need to do it physically.
He can do it with his mind.
Yeah, maybe it'll be like,
it'll be some kind of
like theoretical problem
where it'll be like
if you punch me in the face
you I don't know
I can't think of a way to do it
but like he'll mess with your brain that way
Has Fran been in?
Fran says that he's
he can't believe that I haven't been in a fight
I mean what about me would tell you
that I've been in a fight
like you played football
yeah like I mean I've been in like football
like kerfuffles before
the closest I ever got into a fight
was actually with one of like my neighborhood friends
and like sure
I think he swung on me
and I just like swung him
around and threw him and then it was over.
Like that sort of counts.
That's not a real fight though.
That's not like a meet me out behind the school at 2.30 p.m.
And we're going to, we're going to box.
But like what about me would suggest that I'd been in a fight?
I'm, I did eat some tomatoes this weekend.
I was shamed into eating my own produce.
Yeah.
Nothing happened.
I was fine.
Were they delicious?
They were very good.
We also have long hots that are really good.
We put them on from pizza.
Oh, very strong.
That sounds great.
Yeah.
So,
you're from your land.
It has to taste better.
Bullying works sometimes.
Sometimes is the important delineation here.
And yeah,
I got bullied into eating my own produce and it was great.
Okay.
I still have Eagles notes.
Now I really feel like ZV right now.
I have things that I want to want to,
I really want to hear your thoughts on this.
At the end of Nixiriani's press conference today,
he said that the team,
I'm trying to gauge, like,
if I should really.
sell this?
Like he was asked about banner night.
Mm.
And he goes,
banner night.
Joe banner?
Not Joe banner.
He was asked about the Eagles raising the championship banner before Thursday
night's game.
And he goes,
didn't even realize it was happening,
which I don't know about that.
But he did say that the players and coaches will not be out there.
Well,
let me ask you this.
How did he know the players and coaches were not going to be out there if he didn't
know about banner night?
Exactly.
Yeah.
Him being like didn't even know what was happening,
but we won't be there.
bit in my face and say, I didn't know.
I mean, come on.
But I don't know what's happening.
We are definitely not going to be out there.
Like, what are you talking about?
But this is obviously in line with his messaging.
Sure.
The Super Bowl is in the past.
They cannot think about it.
They should not think about it.
I did think, let me, a quick side note,
Seekwon mentioned a message from Nick Sierra Annie in the offseason.
I thought was actually pretty poignant,
which was if you think that you're the reason that the,
this is him talking,
and say we, but if you think that you're the reason that we won the Super Bowl,
you're absolutely right.
If you think you're the only reason we won the Super Bowl, you're absolutely wrong.
I thought that was an interesting one.
You don't like that?
You're not selling that one?
I mean, what person on a football team thinks they're the only reason that the team won?
The disease of me, right?
Or is it the disease of more?
Yeah, I go back and forth on that.
I mean, it's a nice, it's a nice, you know, full team meeting line.
I think it's a good one.
I don't think it's like, he's had a couple of like messages that have gotten to the,
we've heard about the contribution over credit, which I think is a good one for Jalen Hertz.
Okay.
That's a good one.
But what do you think about them not being out there for the banner raising?
I think it's a little tough.
Like, let them be out there for the banner.
Maybe they do it before like the anthem, right?
And then before, like you could do it during warmups or something like that and get everybody in their seats.
We're doing this now.
and then you go back to the locker room and regroup,
like wipe the slate clean.
I think it's a little bit,
it's like right before,
it's a little bit precious.
It's like right before player announcements.
So like you could just flip flop on probably.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I don't know.
It's fine.
I mean,
listen,
it's,
it is absolutely consistent with the way that he has messaged this whole season.
So I really,
I think that's,
I think that's totally fine.
I find his messaging on it.
I'm more,
I'm more offended at,
uh,
didn't even know what was happening.
Didn't even,
yeah,
that was,
yeah,
that was like,
yeah,
but I find it interesting.
like pretend it didn't happen,
we're moving on from the Super Bowl messaging.
Like,
I think Jalen Hertz's messaging on this
has been a little bit more nuanced
and I appreciate that.
Like,
like it can inform your future decisions
and the way you do things.
Right.
Like being there,
having achieved that,
you should learn from it.
And I'm not saying that he's saying
that they won't,
but he's like,
it's almost like taboo to bring it up at this point.
It seems like he is very guarded against
not having it seep in.
I mean, listen,
they're going to see the banner.
So like,
It's not like, he's probably going to tell him not to look at it.
Don't even look up there.
Focus on the game.
They got to stretch their necks at least, you know, like.
I'm sure they're going to see the banner.
Yeah.
Jalen might never, might never see the banner.
I feel like Jalen will appreciate the banner and then he'll move on.
And I think that is probably the better way to handle it.
Great job by Julia, flashing up some new merch on the pHLY store.
Check that out.
Another reminder to become a diehard.
Lots of good stuff coming as football season.
arrives.
What is Franz for what it's worth here?
Yeah.
Has Fran been in a fight?
What I'm wondering if we're going to get?
Or was it a different acronym?
Nope.
Just for what it's worth.
Just distracting us.
That's okay.
I thought it was like FAAFO, maybe is what he meant.
Ah.
Because I don't think I'd want to fight, Fran.
No, I have no interest in fighting Fran.
Yeah.
He's got the base.
You wouldn't move him.
Yeah, Fray knows what he's doing.
Wait, so you think Fran's been like multiple fights?
I would say multiple, yeah.
Wow, really?
I mean, just judging by his reaction that you've never been in a fight,
and he's clearly been in at least one fight
and the degree to his reaction would multiple, yes.
Fran does not strike me as someone who's been in a fight before.
Have you been in a fight?
Like a real fight.
I feel like most people haven't been in a real fight.
Fran said he's been in several fights.
Wow.
And he says he's going 65 to 70 turkeys on the professor.
Oh man, that kind of hurts.
Brand thinks I'm soft.
I mean, he definitely thinks he's soft.
I mean, Fran scouting reports are pretty accurate.
Danes has a, has a family to protect.
That's an extra level of fight.
I can't believe that.
I mean, if I had to put turkeys on it, I might do like 52 for me.
Yeah.
I'm giving Dana's the proper respect, but.
are you trying what are you trying to do you're trying to take him down to the ground no I don't think so
I don't think so I've never had to think about how I'd fight somebody
Julia was your money on wait Francis you've definitely been in a fight
I mean it there are there are different it depends on what we define as a fight I'm talking
I have not been in like a schoolyard like you versus me one-on-one type deal but I've been in
I've been in some fracuses.
Yeah, no, I've been in those.
I'm talking real fight.
Like somebody is trying, like, you're legitimately trying to hurt somebody.
I've been in fights on this show.
Doesn't count.
See, that's softer than me just being like, I've never been in, like, a true fist fight.
Well, you're going very, like, definitive on, like, uh,
I think you should respect, like, the Hollywood one-on-one.
You should respect the seriousness of, like, a true fight.
Like, you were actually trying to hurt the person across from you.
Yeah.
like do as much damage as possible.
Then, then if that's how we're defining it, then yes.
You have been in a true fight.
Yeah.
Wow.
Okay.
Julia, have you been in a fight?
Oh, that's a yes.
That's a yes.
Fran, friend saying that the fact that you're only going to 52,
he's pushing up to 80 on Dana's.
All right, that's fair.
I don't think I have it in me.
I don't have that dog in me.
I don't know.
I mean, listen, I feel like Danny's made,
might come in thinking he's going to win, but we're just, you know.
Maybe I'm just a pacifist.
Maybe that's what I'm learning on the, at the back end of the show.
That's a good thing to be.
More things I'm afraid of.
That's a better thing to be, yeah.
Yeah.
We're not going to fistfight me and Dana.
We're just going to disagree on like one esoteric football topic.
Sure.
Although one way to definitely win a fight.
I can't wait to hear what this is going to be.
Jadun blew the ball carrier.
All right, that's going to do it.
All right, that'll do it for her.
And in the comments,
Fran is calling me a pushover millennial.
Oh, man.
We got a big show tomorrow, 2 o'clock.
Fran Duffy in studio,
Bo Wolf in studio.
We have got to sit, E.J. and
is next to each other just to see if this stuff spills over.
Tail of the tape.
On to the show.
We've also got Mina Kimes.
Lots of good stuff to get to.
And some more surprises coming this week from PHOI.
So keep your eye out on that front.
But for now, subscribe to the channel.
We want to get up to 50,000.
So please subscribe, comment, like the video.
Say thank you, Julia.
And as always, we love you.
