Hello, everybody, and welcome the P.HLY Eagles podcast on a Monday afternoon, the day after. It cuts to 53. We are live from the Xfinity Lounge and presented by Ashley, Bo Wolf in studio with the great Rand and Lee Gouten of Bleeding Green Nation rock and the PHLY swag. Excited to be here. Welcome to the family. I made the joke at the Osprey's that I'm just the second most famous BLG to be joining the show. For those who don't know, Brennan Graham's middle name is Lee. I've confirmed that with him personally in the past.

So yeah, but very excited to be part of the team. Well, we are very excited to have you. We got a lot of fun to get to on the show today. You and I are going to go through some Eagles overunders, both of the ones that are publicly available at some different sports books and also a few that we have come up with ourselves.

but we do have to start with the news of the day. I want to hear your thoughts on the 53-man roster, but right before the show, four claims. The waivers have processed. Let's get to what's brewing presented by Wawa, and we start, unfortunately, by pouring one out for our dear friend Dinklberg.

Because Kapanagashikin, the rookie undrafted nickelback slash safety, claimed by the Indianapolis Colts, the Eagles lose out on the gush. We need to find out if Dinkleberg is going to remain loyal to the Eagles or follow the gush elsewhere. Also, E.J. Smith, who will join us for a little cameo in a little bit. He has lost out on Cam Latu, who was going to the New England Patriots who liked what they saw during joint practices.

And both of last year's day three tackles for the Eagles, who made the roster but did not make it this year, Miles Hinton and Cam Williams claimed elsewhere, the Eagles losing four players via claims at a field BLG. The most consequential player from the Eagles to join the Patriots this offseason. Cam Latu, terrible news for EJ, do really bad for him. I guess I'm surprised by that number. I had Cam Williams making my roster. He was right on the bubble, thought they might give him one chance, hold on to him.

Law two I guess I'm a little surprised he got claimed because I didn't think there'd be a hot market for him EJ can I guess shove that in our faces from that perspective the Gush

I did talk to Dinkleberg at the Ospreys about about Gush after the show that night and I think he you know a sober view on him I think fair to say but I think he should commit

to the bit en route for the Colts now yeah I mean you can have split allegiances and here he is he checks in with a super challenge Matt Dinkleberg says it has been brought to my attention that the gush has been claimed by the Colts. Unders, unders for all, I will never be the same.

Poor guy. That's tough. Now, the good news for the Eagles is the gambit of hoping that Joshua Wero and UR. Bernard would make it through unclaimed. It worked. They got both guys, presumably onto the practice squad. One of them will get the IPP exemption and they'll get to have 17 guys in the practice squad. Yeah, I was not worried.

worried so much about Uar. We saw it in that last preseason game. Like, he doesn't know what to tackle. And that's like to be expected, I feel like from a player so inexperienced. But I just struggled to see a team using a 53-man roster spot, and cutting one of their own players that they may have liked to make room for him. I was worried, as we all were here, I think, about Wero. So I'm glad to see he claimed waivers.

And I would hope the Eagles are able to sign him to the practice one. Okay. Now, let's close the book on what's brewing, because that's what happened. That's the news. Eagles did lead the NFL in waiver claims, guys who got claimed with four, did not make any claims themselves. So right now, the 53 men roster is as it was yesterday. What were your big takeaways from that BLG? Not to do the whole four quarterbacks again, but I mean... No, I mean, it's important. It's just, and I regret not having the four quarterbacks on my 53 men roster from the standpoint,

as I think you can relate from the standpoint of this whole journey. It's been weird. I feel like every step of the way, going back to when they acquired Dalton, I kind of felt weird about that, going back to the spring, and we're all expecting Tanner McKee, right, to be the second guy up in the first OTA practice we see. It's not Andy Dalton. Then the next couple, it's also Andy Dalton, even though the Eagles are insisting, there's a rotation going on. Training camp, we're seeing the reps be split every day. Preseason games, how they went, where Dalton starts both. You didn't even start McKee in the second one to be like, okay, we'll give each of them a start, to start it off.

It's just been weird every step of the way. And does that matter in the sense of their win-loss outlook this year? The way it matters to me is that I think I haven't felt kind of less inspired by the Eagles backup quarterback situation going back to... I agree with that. Like 2019, when Nate Sudfeld, they wanted him to be the guy. You didn't. And then they had to sign Josh McCown.

Yeah, I don't really disagree with that. And we're going to hear from Howard Roseman later today. He's going to speak around 3 o'clock. E.J. will be there. I'm going to hope to get over there in time as well. We will have you covered for that with a video after the fact. And then we'll talk about it on tomorrow's show. But there's just, there's no logical possibility that this is how they wanted it to play out.

Right. Right. right? In theory, the idea of dedicating so much time over the spring and summer to splitting the reps between Andy Dalton and Tanner McKee was to figure out who is the number two, to have a definitive answer to that. The reason that you would borrow from the developmental reps for Cole Payton, who you drafted in the fifth round, and needs development because he's a one-year starter. In theory, you want to figure out who's your guy and then you can move on. And now, they've still got both of the guys here.

And there's no sense in like, okay, Dalton won the competition, but we want to keep Tanner McKee and develop him. It's the final year of his rookie deal. Right. He's not, you're not hoping to have him as the number two on a cheap rookie control deal next year.

This is it for both of those guys. Andy Dalton does not need to be on the 53 men roster. His salary is guaranteed. He could be housed on the practice squad. He doesn't need to hold up a spot. The only reason to have him on the 53 is if you are planning on having more than two elevations every week, and he is your actual number two quarterback.

So unless my read on it is on the Dalton perspective, this is more of a, this is a guy who's been in the league for a long time, you have relationships with agents to maintain, there have been some kind of behind-and-scenes promises about he's going to be on the 53-man roster. Otherwise, it doesn't logistically make sense. It has been kind of a crapshoot in an S show all summer long. it's not really going to affect what happens the course of the season we're going to spend most of the time

on the show today talking about the guys who are actually going to play. But yeah, this four-quarterback circus has been kind of a disaster. I guess just to tie a bow on this, I wish there was more conviction. It's like, this is our backup. This is the guy as opposed to

you don't really feel good about anyone, so just keep them all. Like, I don't feel inspired by that. And also, I feel like there was so much talk about trade with this whole situation throughout. And it's like, I think we lost, or maybe the Eagles, rather, lost the plot on like, who cares what meager draft return you're going to get? Let's maybe prioritize getting that quarterback to ready for the season. Like I think in all of that, we kind of lost the plot.

Yeah, I think that's right. Make your, you know, make your pick early and then get guys ready. Now, now they're still dealing with it. And even if, even if it is McKee or if it is Dalton, they're looking over their shoulder. Yeah. The whole time, too. Like, there's no, it's very bizarre. It's a bizarre thing.

Any other big surprises from the 53 that you think is worthwhile? I think realistically the most important thing is that Grenard is not going to go on PUP and so they expect him to be ready for the first four weeks. The E.J. Jenkins fourth tight end, I felt like was a declaration of intent that we need to have four tight ends on the roster because Eli Stowers is not going to be ready to play. It's E.J. Jenkins for now. We will talk to E.J. Smith about a different possibility. But anything else that was worth noting for you.

Those were the big ones. I think, like you said on the previous show, I think E.J. Jenkins could be in trouble, you know, his roster spot not necessarily secure here. Mack McWilliams, I would put him in there too. It was a little surprised to see him make it from a standpoint of, oh, he saw good things in practice,

preseason games, not as much. And then you kept Jonathan Jones, too. So, like, he's really kind of, it's going to be a healthy scratch, I guess. He's the sixth cornerback, right? So that was a little surprising to me, too. And I think the Gernard thing, you mentioned there, It's almost been like an underreaction to how big of a deal.

Like that's a really big deal. That's good news. Even if he's not ready for week one, the fact that the Eagles think he will be ready by week four at the very latest. And, you know, maybe they're wrong. But that's a, that's a huge deal.

And I almost think it's gone under the radar a little bit just because of this kind of summer that jail has had and the confidence that people have in him. Yes. And we will get to that as well. Okay. And we're joined now on the Xfinity Mobile call-in line by the Great Eagles Insider, E.J. Smith and E.J. How you doing? I'm not doing well. I am unwell, as you could probably expect. I'm not, I'm in a bad mood right now. Wow. It's, you know, it's fine, it's fine.

The Patriots now have the two most misutilized players from last year's offense. and AJ Brown and Cam Latu. So you knew you knew that was a loaded question, how I'm doing right now. Well, yeah, but listen, I think it tells you, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the good folks in the Patriots personal department are plugged into this show on a daily basis, because first Christian Ellis and now Cam Latu.

Yeah, I mean, they just, maybe they got a good football sense over there. You know, Mike Rable, always respected Mike Rable, must have just seen seen what we saw in those joint practices, the intensity, the potential for Cam Latu. So yeah,

you know, it's fitting that him and Christian Ellis are on the same team now. Maybe they belong together. You know, again, football heaven. Is that what AJ Brown called it? I'm starting to see what he means.

Okay, there you go. All right, let's talk about the actual reporting that you have done here. Breaking a little bit of news on the Eagles front. What is it? Could the Eagles be

seeing an old friend. Yeah, I think a Zach Ertz reunion is officially on the table. I don't want to say it's imminent. I think the fact that he is still, you know, approaching the nine-month mark from that serious knee injury he had last December. I think that's still a big question mark. And obviously the Eagles, I think that they feel okay about the depth that they have at tight end. But I think it's no question that Zacherts would represent a real upgrade at the bottom of the depth chart there. I can tell you guys, you know, after talking to a few people about this, that Zachertz is open to a return. He'd welcome a return to Philadelphia. He's 10 catches away from tying Harold Carmichael's franchise record for receptions, but I think even beyond the sentimental value,

I think, again, he has value to them on the field. And I think there's also a component there for the mentorship aspect for Eli Stowers. So there's a lot of reasons why I think it makes a lot of sense. But right now, I would say, you know, let's keep an eye on this over the next week or two as Zacherts gets past that nine-month mark post-injury. Maybe the Eagles can take a better look at him and again, I think it's one that could make a lot of sense for both sides. All right. Well, we can read more details on all phtly.com if we're diehard. But while we're here, EJ, first of all, you keep mentioning the nine-month window.

Is your understanding that that's like a cut and dried thing from the Eagles perspective? Yeah, so I think most teams, and I think the Eagles are one of them, that the nine-month window is probably the earliest that you'd actually clear someone from a torn ACL. It was reported a couple of weeks ago that Zachertz was medically cleared for football activities, but I think that's probably, you know, if you have a doctor, an independent doctor, they might clear you a little bit earlier than a team would be willing to let you get back on the grass. So, again, for the Eagles, I think for most teams, like, you know, September 7th, September 8th, the nine-month mark post-recovery or in recovery, I think that's when you can be a little bit more

realistic about a return because it was. It was a serious injury. You know, the fact that he is ready nine months later, I think is remarkable. But, yeah, I think right now, if you had to ask me, why hasn't happened already? I think that's probably a big reason why. He hasn't actually gotten serious about signing with the team quite yet. And then in terms of bringing back an old friend, it's something that we know that Howard Roseman likes to do.

And I think I agree with you from a football standpoint. This would make sense. The two things that I want to ask about are the little blowup with Siriani after the commander's game a couple years ago. And also just what was, I think tension overstates it. But, you know, Dallas guys. Goddard for a time period, kind of wanted that room to be his own.

It took a little bit longer than he wanted. Your understanding is, at least from Earth's perspective, that neither of those two things is a barrier that will be hard to overcome. Yeah, I think that that's the important note there is that from Zach Ertz's perspective, I think he'd be happy to come back. I think he'd welcome it. And I think the Eagles probably put all that to the side when you consider the fact that they have a need there.

You know, they need someone to, if Dallas got it were to miss time, you feel good about having a pass catcher that can also contribute some in the blocking game. I'm not going to act like Zachertz is like a perfect combo tight end in 2026. But again, you know, someone who has at least been in the league for a long time. So I think that the dynamic in the room would be interesting with him in Dallas. But I think that Zachertz is at a different point in his career now and probably would be more focused on, again, the Eli Stowers aspect of it, where it is like the potential. to kind of show a young tight end that struggled early in training camp, you know, sort of some of the tricks of the trade and how to be a professional. So I think that there's a, there's benefits and, you know, potential, you know,

friction there between Dallas Goddard and Zachertz. I think you're right that that might be overstating it a little bit. I think it's probably, again, that Zacherts is a little bit further along in his career and would understand the role that he'd be having in this room if he came back. BLG, what would you think of a Zachary reunion? I think it's not just a nostalgia play. Like, I think it makes sense for this team. as currently constituted.

Tight end's the biggest concern that I have in terms of the positions on this roster right now. I mean, if Dallas Goddard goes down, which knock on wood, hopefully not, probably. He hasn't made it through a 17 game season once in the past five years. Likely to miss the, yes,

at least a couple games, a few games, just based on what we've seen. Johnny Muntz, you're starting tight end? Like, who's feeling good about that? That's not good enough. I would like to see Zacherts back here, assuming he is willing to fit in a role here. All right, there you go. E.J., you will be at Howard Rosman's press conference.

thank you all right guys talk to you soon all right good stuff from EJ BLG let's get to the overrunners let's start let's start with Jalen Hertz and plenty of listed ones for Jalen Hertz at your sports book of choice.

Let's start with passing yards. What I found here is the overrunner for Jilline Hertz passing yards, 3,249 and a half. He has surpassed that twice in his NFL career in 2022 and 2023. That's a little bit more than he threw for last season in 16 games. Would you lean over under here? And I think as we go through these, let's each pick one. that's our best bet and you know really

pound the table for it but where would you lean on this one? And what was the number again? Just a 3,249 and a half. Man, I'm going to take the under on that because I think it's going to, from what we saw this summer, I thought the passing offense uneven is the way I'd use to describe it.

It's not that I feel left, it's left for dead. I thought I feel terrible about it. I just think the running game is still going to be a big part of this all. I'm not worried about Jalen this season. I'm really not. Like I'm not in a space where I'm concerned. Everyone's talking about all these training camp interceptions.

But I'm also, I feel comfortable with Jalen's floor. I'll put it that way. The ceiling, I don't know what that looks like this year, but I feel okay about the floor. I'm going to take the under. What about you?

Yeah, I would lean the under too. This feels a little bit high to me. It's, I mean, it's only 25 more yards than he threw for last season. But I would, I mean, I think they want to be, a more run heavy team than they were last year. You lose AJ Brown, where are the yards going to come from?

I would lean under here. I agree. Okay. Now, how about passing touchdowns for Jalen hurts. The list here I have is 22 and a half. Last year he threw for 25, only 18 and 24. He's also been at 22 and 23 years before. So this is like right on what would be his average in the past four years.

Over, under. Where do you go? It's a great line. It'll be right there at 23, I'm sure. So if I'm taking under on the passing yards, I guess it kind of be a little crazy to go over on the touchdowns too, because even if he does go over it, I just don't know how much he would go over where, you know, the under seems like the safer bit. Yeah, I'm leaning under slightly here. But this one is, this is a tough one. This is like on a lot. All right. Now, let's talk Jalen Hertz's legs, because this is a thing that, you know, we haven't seen a ton of this summer. And I think it's a lot of. And I think it's a tough.

is more open to, you know, what is he going to bring as a scrambler? But the line here for rushing yards for Jalen Hertz is 424.5. Last year, when we spent so much time talking about how much less he was running, it was 421, and it has been over 600 and into the 700s, each of the four years prior. So my inclination is to go over here. How about you? Yeah, this is my best bet. This is your best bet.

Yeah, I'm going to take the over here. I, I, there was a lot of talk last year about how Jalen Hertz, uh, a lot, why he was not running was in no small part due to a preference of his own. I think there seems to be where Jalen Hertz is in terms of embracing a new offense that he, he realized there's a need for change. Can't just be what it was last year. I think part of that baked into that is, is in, uh, admitting that he probably, probably needs to run the ball a little bit more than he did last season.

And it doesn't even have to be where it was in 2021, 2022. But I think it has to be more than it was last year. And I think he will get there. Yeah. So 2021, 784 rushing yards. There's no AJ Brown that year. 22, 760 still. 20203, 605, 204, 630, all the way down to 421 last year.

The over, over, 24 and a half, yeah, I feel very confident about him hitting the over here. And I also think part of it is narrative from Jalen's perspective in a post-A.J. Brown world showing that you are still a playmaker that the offense doesn't need AJ Brown to function. I could see him turning up the dial a little bit. I feel, I wouldn't make it my,

it's my best Jalen Hertz bet. Not my best overall, but yeah, I'm with you. I'm going to ride with it. I don't want to be too negative on the passing, but had to call it like I can see it. I think the rushing, I could see an uptick there. Okay. And then this is another one that's a little tougher

to guess, and that is the rushing touchdowns for Jalen Hertz. That's at eight and a half. He had eight last year, and it was over eight and a half each of the four years prior. Obviously, Tush Push involved in that. Manian said the Tush Push is not going away, right? He said it's going to be part of what we do. Did we not? We didn't really see it in the preseason.

Obviously, Jalen Hertz didn't play, so it's part of it. But I'm not going to sit here and tell you it's gone until I actually see it's gone. I don't feel too strongly about it. I would push come to shove, I guess I would go over, but only marginally so. Push push come to shove. There you go. Push push comes to brother to shove. That's the one.

There you go. All right. Let's do Sequin and then we'll go to break. And this is an interesting one. Because would you agree that part of the story of the summer has been Sequin and Berkeley looking pretty spry? I absolutely agree. I even think last year, from what I saw in this, the summer didn't translate to the regular season so much in terms of the production

offensive line i think clearly a big part of that i look good last summer too i just i do not buy into any idea he is physically diminished he looks ready for another big season from everything i've seen okay so in 2024 obviously he's lights the world on fire runs for two thousand and five yards last year in a big down year runs for 1140 yards and the old runner for a sapeuan barker this year is 1,099.5 yards. So you're betting, can he get to 11,100? Which to me is just a bet on, is he going to stay healthy?

Right. And I think he could get that in 13 games. This is my best bet. Wow. Over on Sequin getting to 1,100 rushing yards. I, you know, barring him missing half the season, I feel really, really good about, this because I also think the Eagles offense is designed to run through Sequa and Barclay.

I think they're going to have to at times. I think with how uneven again the passing game looked at times, it's going to be a situation where it's like we're just going to have to run the ball. We're going to have to lean into this for stretches of the season. And I think it's just their preferred method anyway. So I absolutely am taking the over on Sequa. Okay. Last year, Sequin had seven rushing touchdowns. 13 in the year before that is over under on rushing touchdowns is seven and a half. I would lean over, but again, not, I'm not putting all my chips in there, but I would lean over. I would lean over. I'm expecting a pretty big Sequin year.

It is funny to me. I always love how he got tackled at like a league high, whatever it was times in 2024, when he's still at 13. So many of those. Inside the three are. It's got so unlucky. And obviously the Tush Bush took it from there. All right. So there you go.

High expectations for Devante Smith internally, externally. The number for receiving yards for Devante Smith, 1,049 and a half. Now, last year, Devante was at 1,08, 833 the year before when he missed four games. He would have topped this barely in 2023, and he topped it big time in 2022. obviously AJ Brown is gone.

I don't know how you could do anything other than found you over here, right? I don't think there's, I mean, within reason, I guess. I'm surprised at how low this is. Yeah, there isn't a number that I'm probably going to say under on. Like, I think sky's the limit for Devante Smith. I couldn't possibly feel better about him. Yeah, I, I just, I think he's going to have such a huge target share in this offense. I mean, this is another one where, you know,

unless he misses four games, which is possible. He's never done. But I feel pretty good about that. Yeah, I think it's a lock. I mean, what would you adjust the line to if you had to make it more challenging in your mind? I don't know, 11, 24 and a half, something like that.

Yeah, I love the over here. Okay, me too. Also for Devante, five and a half receiving touchdowns. He only had four last year, but would have topped this each of the three years prior. I feel pretty good about this one too. Similarly, in a narrative, A.J. Brown get back kind of way where, like, if they're dialing something up from the 3R line, they might throw Devante a couple of a couple gimmies.

I feel pretty good about this one. Last year was the year of getting Dallas got it at the touchdowns. Yeah, I feel better about this one. Yeah. This is the year of Devante getting the touchdowns. Yeah. And then 79 and a half catches is the over under for Devante. He had 77 last year.

68 the year prior, 81 the year prior, 95 the year before that. I feel better about their yards than I do the catches. Just because I don't know exactly how those yards will come, but I would lean over here. Yeah, I'm taking the over as well. I just, yeah, I mean, I think that's not that high of a bar for him to clear.

Yeah. Okay. One more wide receiver overrunner, and that is a listing for Tay Wicks receiving yards. And I was actually surprised at how high this one is. 599 and a half yards is the overrunner for Tay Wicks. He's never topped that before. Last year he had only 332 receiving yards.

His rookie year three years ago was at 581. The markets here clearly telling you that they think Wix is going to be the number two option in the receiving game. His number is higher than Dallas Goddarts, which we will get to. What do you make of that? Do you believe that? Do you believe, because you've been a little more, I don't know if bearish is fair to say, but I think maybe skeptical of Wix. And I think especially early, I think the summer has played out in a way that I do think that

he will probably be the number two guy. But there's no doubt that the Eagles are betting on themselves relative to the Packers, as I've said, because the Packers needed receiving help. They lose out on Romeo Dobbs. They're willing to give this guy up or not that much of a return. But I think the early returns have been pretty positive. I would probably still lean under here because I don't think that there's, you know, unlike Devante or Sequin, even if you guarantee me,

Tay Wicks plays 17 games, I'm still not sure he's going to hit this over. Whereas with those other guys, if they're going to play, they're going to hit the over. I would be pleasantly surprised if he tops this. I definitely feel better about Don Tavian Wicks after training camp.

I agree. It was actually a really good, well, this, I won't say it's a great thing that Devante Smith and Michaeleman were hurt and missed time, but I think a silver lining to that was Jalen Hertz got to build a rapport with Donatavian Wix. And boy did he do that

because there were days where it felt like Dailen again over and over Wicks, Wicks. And I think I have to go slight under just from a I need to see it to fully believe it. But I think he'll get close to that number. Yeah. Before we get to Goddard, we have

one small piece of Eagles news. Wow. And that is an addition to the practice squad, BLG, former third round pick from the Chicago Bears Kieran Amagaji from Yale. So he takes the developmental tackle spot that likely otherwise

would have gone to Cam Williams or Miles Hinton. Interesting. Was that on your radar? Was Kieran? No. On your radar. Our old friend Vince was a huge

Kieran Amagaji fan in the pre-draft process a couple years ago. Okay. There you go. Damian Pierce also reportedly ticketed for the back. I like that. I really like what we saw from Damien Pierce this summer.

Obviously missed a lot of time due to injury, but it felt like when he was healthy, he popped. All right. Let's get to Dallas Goddard now. 574 and a half receiving yards is the overrunner. For Goddard, that's just 20 fewer yards, a little bit less than he had last year when he had 591, 496 the year before that, 592 the year before that. Now we have seen that over the past three seasons when AGA Brown has not been on the field, Dallas Goddard has been one of the most productive and efficient receivers in the NFL period, including receivers.

I don't know that I thought that he had like a dominating summer. I think it was kind of a quiet summer. I think this is about where he'll end up anyway, and so I'm tempted to lean under only because of the injuries. Yeah, I already took under on the Hertz yard, so I feel like to be concerned. I guess I'm going to go with that as well, but I would agree with your assessment of his summer. I was more active last year by comparison.

So I think it's close. I think this is another good line, but I think he falls just short of that here. Four and a half receiving touchdowns is the over under there. He had 11 last season, but two, three, three, four, three in the seasons prior. So you're deciding whether you think that was an aberration last year, which I think it probably was. Yes. Again, very much an effort. I felt like that was a very concerted, you know, attack to try to get him in a contract year,

which he is in, again, a lot of touchdowns. Okay. Two sack overrunners that are available for guys on the defensive line. Let's start with Jalen Carter, whose number, do you want to guess what his number is? He's, well, his career high is six and a half, I think, I'm not mistaken. Are they going to go over that? It's six as a rookie in 2023, four and a half in 2024. only three last year.

His number is 4.75. I'll take the over on that. I think I would take the over too. He had such a good summer, I thought. I think he seems to, the message that he needs to be, they're paying him for the player who he's moving forward, seems to be resonating with him from what I can tell.

And he seems to be healthier. And he's so dominant that I'm, if I'm wrong about this, I will have felt good about betting on the upside. I think so too this would be close to a best bet for me I think you know listen he's going to get a lot of double team

attention his best year was two years ago and he only had four and a half stacks I think I think he's going to top this do you think he gets double digits I don't think I could I don't think I could realistically go that far

but I don't think that's impossible it's not impossible but I think maybe let's say like eight yeah eight feels right that's totally reasonable. Yeah. I think the number is going to come for him this year.

The other one is the star of the summer, Jalick's Hunt, who had six and a half sacks last season to lead the team, and his number is just 6.25. So all he needs to do is have the same amount of sacks he had last year. Another one that to me is kind of close to a best bet. I'm shocked by that. I'm shocked that's even listed and it's that low. You'd think it wouldn't even be listed if it was going to be that low.

So one of the ones I came up with was way more, like the bespoke ones you mentioned, was way more optimistic than that. And admittedly, I feel like that's bold what I'm going for. But I feel like, why not be bold with him? If you're going to be bold about projecting someone's upside, which you've been very much doing, that's crazy to me. The sports don't know what they're doing. Well, I mean, I think they actually think they're pretty good at what they do. But this is one where, I mean, let's see. Listen, you could have a good season

and the sacks just don't come. Sure. It's a little bit volatile. It's not unlike receiving touchdowns. It's one where you probably better not to bet on it, I would think. But, man, I feel like it would be a really big disappointment if he doesn't top that this year. He would have to, I mean, if that's the scenario,

it would be like you're saying the pressure numbers, which you love so much, would have to be like high, but somehow the sacks weren't just matching that. Right. So there you go. All right. So your best bet is, the Jalen rushing yards?

Yes. Right? Over 424 rushing yards. My best bet is Sequin over 1,099 and a half rushing yards. I don't think those are good ones. Yeah, forget about it. What are your best bets in the chat?

Let us know. Let's start in on a couple of our homemade overrunners. I'll start. I'll give you one. And I've got, this is my one Jalen Hertz one. And I'm curious to your thoughts on all the interceptions we've seen. this summer from Jalen Hertz.

I have an overrunner for Jalen at 13 and a half interceptions. Now, the most he's ever had in his career, we're in 2023, that disaster season, when he had 15. He's never been in double digits in any other season. So this is, you know, I think he is going to throw more interceptions this year that comes with throwing over the middle of the field a little bit more.

How many more do you think there will be what do you think about 13 and a half interceptions for feeling hurts. Like you just said, I don't think we're going to see as few as five like he had in 2024. I don't think unless they just revert to ball control, which I think would be disappointing,

and I'm not going to say they're going to do that yet until I see it. I'm going to go under on that. I still think that I don't think he's going to be reckless all of a sudden. I don't think it's like a lock that the over hits on this one. I think it'll be probably, like double digits. you know, he's only done that once, like you said, in 20, 23. I could see like somewhere between 10, 12, so I'll take the under.

Yeah, I think I'd lean under also because you price in injuries there as an under here. But I don't think it's crazy to think that he'll be somewhere around that in terms of interceptions. And I don't necessarily think that that's a bad thing. Right. I think that's actually encouraging that we've seen more risk from him in terms of how conservative things were last year. All right. Give me your first. homemade over under

well it's on brand so I have to go with my guy Darius Cooper and this is not like a statistical one as much as it's just like kind of a fallen have a Darius Cooper statistics okay okay yeah this is more of just like a rank so I want you to

give me Darius Cooper's rank among Eagles receivers like wide receivers specifically in number of targets so stick with me here okay because last year for example Darius was actually fourth. He was behind AJ, Devante, and Jehan Dotson.

He was the fourth most targeted receiver. So, just wide receivers. Yes, only wide receivers. Okay. So I'm actually going to set this because he was fourth last year, but the Eagles have Hollywood Brown now. They kept Elijah Moore on the roster. I'm going to put it at five and a half.

Oh, I think he's going to be higher in the ranking. I don't think he will be sixth. I'm not sure. Look, if you're asking me what he should be, obviously he should be, but I'm a little worried about what they're going to do with him in terms of his offensive role. Nick has framed him as this dirty work guy. There's actually a recent interview that I even saw him kind of doubled down on that

because he talked about in the spring. So I'm a little, and he very much gave me a, he totally tried to poo any kind of, the question I asked him about, has he graduated in terms of deserving an offensive role? really shot that down. So I'm worried about his offensive role a little bit and I think that's a mistake. Well, I think the thing that makes me feel pretty confident about him not being sixth is that he's going to be active on game days because he's going to play special teams. He's probably going to be the other gunner. He has that dirty work role. So he has a reason to be on the field, whereas probably one of Elijah Moore or Hollywood Brown is going to have to be inactive. I don't think

they're going to have six wide receivers active on game days. So as long as he stays healthy, he'll be on the field. Yeah, I feel pretty good. I hope so. I feel pretty good about that. Do you want to squash any? Sure. Is there any lingering Darius Cooper beef here?

Oh. To me, you know, I think it's a little bit unbecoming the fomenting of this non-beef by, you know, a person who has made their whole personality at Devante Smith stat that I tweeted like, you know, I talked about on the show three months ago. Wow. I think that I do think you, I told you about this in practice last week. I think you know sold me a little. I wasn't sure if you know what sold me when I told you that Darius Cooper was my guy.

There's no doubt that you were on Darius Cooper first. No doubt about that. Well, that's all we needed to hear. We're all good. There's no, there's absolutely no argument about that. I think there have been times when I was maybe a bigger cheerleader or was more convinced of his greatness. But there's no doubt that you were there first. I was there first.

what am I going to do? Take the under on that? Yeah, yeah, it did him. Okay. Jonathan Grinard. Yes. Who had 12 sacks two years ago,

12 and a half the year before that. Three last year with the Vikings when he was a little bit affected by injuries. And he is starting this year, injured, I have the number at sacks for Jonathan Gernard at 6.75. I worry about the unknown of the injury, and certainly that seemed to hamper him a little bit last year. I've been so bullish on him. I really feel like he is one of the more underrated players writ large in the NFL from a standpoint of you look at his rank in terms of the sack production he's had. You also look at kind of think like his original draft status. He doesn't have that cash

and some of the other top household pass rushers. And I think he kind of loses some credit because of that. So I've been on that bandwagon. Therefore, I'm also going to take the over on Jonathan Grenar. Okay. I think I would lean under just because of the unknown. Sure. But if you tell me he's going to play 15 games,

I think you got to feel good about the over. And I also think, you know, motivation does not always have to play into these things, but coming off the three-sac season, missing all of training camp, having been traded for two third round picks trying to rub it into the Vikings, I think he'll be eager to maybe steal a couple

if he can. I'm really interested to see what the playing time looks like in that rotation because they're so deep there. I mean, where a lot of guys would have your fourth or fifth eddruschers is just kind of roster fringe players.

That's not AJ Epinessa and Arnold Abikady. Right, compared to the guys who were occupying those spots last year. Right. Zizzo Jolari and Alcoa Ocaranquo and even Josh Ushay. I think these guys Vanessa and Ebikady are a bit of a tick up.

So maybe that hurts him if the rotation is so heavy, but I still will lean on the bullish side there. All right. Over to you. I'm going to go with a, I think it's kind of a, well, I'll go with the Jalix Hunt when I did since this was really bullish. We already did it in terms of the actual book line over under. But this is like, this is for a challenge kind of for you. Put your money where your mouth is.

Let's see how bold do you want to get on Jellix Hunt. I'm going to go for over under 12.75 so 13 would be 12.75 if you're going to be bold you have to be bold this would be him doubling his sack total from last year I know it's high but I can't in good conscience

my money on that well then you can't be that I'm higher on jealous hunt than I mean I think I think there's a difference between what do you think will happen and what are you what are you actually put your money on I just wouldn't make that bet it's it's very bold I think Jaylex Hunt will lead the Eagles and sacks. Yeah. Again.

Again, I think he will be their best eddrisher. I think he will be better than Jonathan Grenard this year. Okay. I just, well, you know, Jonathan Grinard's never had more sacks than that. Right. And you're gassing him out. I am. I just think you made that number too high.

I did, but I felt, I was starting to think of, like, one of the more bold things I could possibly put in, but still feel actually good about it, and that's in there for me. Quinion Mitchell EJ has been talking a lot about Quinnion's adding interceptions to his game which I don't know that I necessarily agree with

and as Big Fangio has said still a regular season virgin never had an interception in the regular season I have his number at interceptions at two and a half interesting that's funny because I said it for one and a half and as an alternate line in case we shared one of the same ones

I'm gonna take on two and a half, I will take, I think he's gonna have exactly two. So I'm gonna take the under on two and a half. I would take the over on one and a half. It feels like it's finally has to happen, right? I think he's gotta have at least one. Like you have,

like that would be crazy if he goes three seasons without an interception while also still being one of the top corners in the NFL. Yeah. So, okay. I think I would, I think I would, I think I would take the over,

but I would not, I'd put a little bit on it. Yeah. Yeah. All right, over to you. I'm gonna go with, What is higher this season? Andy Dalton starts for the Eagles.

Are Cole Eaton, special teams, tackles? That's a good one. I think I would go, ooh, that's a good one. I think I would go, I thought you would like this one. I think I would go Cole Peyton tackles. Hmm.

I would hope it's Cole Peyton tackles. Yeah, of course. They did experiment with him in that role in the final preseason game. Maybe that's another reason why I should have had four quarterbacks. They're like, we have to find a way to make Col Payton useful, maybe get him on game day.

Although I, I'm seeing Andy Dalton struggle so much. I can't in good conscience. Yeah. Just the merit of it all. What's he doing here if he's not going to be the number two? The predictive nature of it all could point to that, but in terms of what I think should happen. Please God Col Patent tackles is what the chat says.

I want to go, Coltons. Because he can also just have half of a tackle too. Yeah. An assisted tackle. That's true. Or whatever. And still get that while Dalton just isn't here, maybe, or doesn't play. Maybe Jaylon Hurd stays remarkably healthy.

All right. I'm going to give you Eli Stowers's patches. That's funny. I also had that online. Eli, you have this one too? This is like a reserve in case. That's okay. Well, let's say our number at the same time then.

So I also qualified it with non-week 18 receptions. Oh, okay. That's a little different. Yeah. All right. On the count of three. One, two, three. Six and a half.

Wow. Six and a half for you. Wow. Now, by comparison's sake, last year, Grant Kalka Tera had nine catches in 15 games. Kylan Granson had seven. Yes. But 11.

And a half for your lifestyle. Man, I really love the sin. I literally wrote those same numbers down under that. And that's why I got six and a half. I was like, can he have the same amount of receptions at least that Tylin Granson had for the Eagles last year. And again, excluding week 18 for me.

Because, you know, if they're resting the starters and he's playing in that game, sure. Maybe. But toward that, man, I really just don't think he's ready to play this year. I don't, especially early on. Even on special teams, I just don't think this is going to be a very fruitful year for him. Yeah. I think I would have to take the under. But it's not, I don't think it's crazy.

it's such a low bar to clear in theory but very low bar to clear. All right, over to you. I'm known to go with who's going to have more receiving yards this season. Is it going to be Devante Smith?

Or is it going to be Arthur Brown? Just yards? More receiving yards. It's a good one. I think I probably go AJ Brown. Yeah. I think it's a more pass heavy offense

That's probably the tiebreaker to me. But I would not be surprised if it's Devante. But I would, if I had to bet, I would take A.J. Brown. I would love to see this, like, you know, go back and forth, kind of over the course of the seat. Like, it would just be a lot of, it would be fun to me to see that. I know I'm sure some people are hoping E.J. Brown doesn't do well at all. But he looked awesome to me in those joint practices.

I think he's going to have a huge year. I think Devonte Smith's also going to have a very good year. So I think it's going to be a good fight, but I'm going to have to go, AJ. Yeah, I think I agree with you. How many more do you have? I didn't write down. Okay.

This is more. I got three more little small ones for you. Yeah. thing to do from a standpoint of just I need to see it in the regular season to believe it because we've been tricked by this before in terms of Eagles throwing to the running back, I think more in practice.

But whatever, I'll be a fool once again and betty over on this. He legitimately seemed to get targeted more than I had seen in the past. And he should be. And I think that's something you guys have talked about in terms of looking to replace

AJ Brown in the aggregate. I think that is something that could help. I gave you 11 and a half catches for Eli Stowers. Same number. 11 and a half catches for Johnny Munt. Man. So what would we have Calcutara? Calcuttaire 9.

I'm going to go under. I think I'm going to go under too. He's going to play like 60% of the snaps and just get thrown the ball like five times. Yeah, I think that's probably right. Last one is Tank Bigsby. And this is Tank Biggsby, 119 and a half rushing yards as his single game high.

Ooh, that's a good one. So will there be a game where maybe Sequin is hurt, Hank Biggsby gets the rock. His single season, or single game high for rushing yards in a game this year, 119 and a half. I'm going to take the over. Could be a week 18 scenario.

Yeah. Where Sequin's resting. I just, I like the player. I'm willing to bet on the player's talent and ability. and God forbid again, Sequin goes down and they're going to run the ball a lot?

Maybe Sequin or a tank can have a big day. Yeah, I think I would, I think, I think I would, intellectually I would take the over. If I had to bet on it, I would probably take the under because it seems like kind of high. Yeah. But, yeah, I think we agree that in a short-term spell, if they had to get through a couple games

There's like weird drama. There's a lot of things Dillard, like there's a lot of weird things going on that was like, oh, so, and I don't feel that way. I feel encouraged. I feel like I'm excited for the new season. I think the vibes have been pretty good. Yeah. Yeah, I agree with that. And then, I mean,

the surprise of the summer. We've made it through the whole summer. Howie Roseman has not made a trade. That's shocking. Like how? It's crazy, right? Just like, what have you done with Howie Roseman?

It's perplexing. Even if it's something like, you know, the infamous Eli Harold or, well, Ryan Bates, Eagle sending out. Huge mistake. Yeah. Something like that. Yeah, very surprising.
