Starting point is 00:00:00 All right. We're getting ready for the NFL draft. What are the Eagles going to do? Well, let's take a little bit of a look at the players who they have brought in for a pre-draft visit, EJ. And there have been 18 reported so far of the 30. Shout out to Anthony De Bona and Dave Zangara for tracking these all down. Let's break them down by position and then sort of in order of how early they're supposed to go and tell me your thoughts on the Eagles bringing them in.
Starting point is 00:00:22 So let's start a tight end because I think that's where the sexiest guy here is, sexiest name-wise. Kenyon Sadeek, Eagles fans, I think very familiar with him. now, the explosive tight end from Oregon, young production leaves a little bit to be wanting, but there's a question of whether he's even going to be there at 23. What do you make of the Eagles bringing in Kenyon-Sadik? Yeah, it doesn't surprise me, especially because the Eagles pre-draft visits,
Starting point is 00:00:44 it's not a 100% hit rate, but it is often predictive on the players that they end up with, you know, after draft weekend is over. And I think Kenyan Sadek is a player that if he is there for the Eagles at 23, even if he's there for the Eagles at number 20 and there is a trade-up opportunity, I think he makes a lot of sense for them. I think that they would sell it as a past catcher more than just a tight end, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:05 because he obviously doesn't play a premium position, but he can be an impact player that kind of substitutes for number two or number three receivers. So I think he makes a lot of sense. You know, and I think, you know, the ability to get to know him if he is someone who falls to them at 23,
Starting point is 00:01:21 for that reason makes a lot of sense. I think you're right in terms of saying that he is a past catcher. You know, if the egos are going to sell, this. This is someone who is adding to our passing game. It's not just a pure tight end. Although Fran will tell you, Eniantzid can block in a big way. So it is
Starting point is 00:01:38 interesting to see the Eagles bringing in a player who is consensus going to not be on the board at 23. And also this is a two-way street. The player has to agree to come as well. His interest is a little bit interesting as well. Two late round tight ends, who they've also brought in. Nate Borkature from Texas A&M, who we
Starting point is 00:01:54 have talked about, will be 25 years old as a rookie. I guess you want to bring him in to see if he's going to fit on the coaching staff. I like Nate Borgeshire. I think he's a good fit for what the Eagles are looking for at tight end right now, which is the combo tight end, a two-way tight end that can contribute as a run blocker, as you mentioned, and as a past catcher. It wasn't super productive in college.
Starting point is 00:02:15 And yes, late breakout in a way that the Eagles are typically wary of. But this draft class is different. Well, the last few draft classes have been different. You have older prospects because guys had the extra year of eligibility due to the pandemic. So for that reason, I think Nate Borkature is like a fun mid-round option for them because of... But that's okay. Yeah, I know. You don't like him because he's an old, and I understand that.
Starting point is 00:02:37 And the Eagles typically would disqualify those types of players more often than not as well. I think his skill set makes up for the fact that he's an older prospect. And then the other player Bauer Sharp from LSU spent three years at South Eastern Louisiana, then a year at Oklahoma, and then a year at LSU, but will only be 23 years old as a rookie. He had some impressive pre-draft testing results. I ran a 463, had some good jumps. A little bit of production with Oklahoma a year ago. I had 42 catches for 324 yards,
Starting point is 00:03:08 a little bit less with LSU this year. This is one makes sense to me. It's a player who, you know, you want to get under the hood on a little bit to find out, you know, do the testing results potentially match what you can do on the field. And I think it's fair to say that this signals
Starting point is 00:03:21 that the Eagles are going to draft a tight end at some point on draft weekend. Yeah, yeah, I was going to say sometimes with these visits you are bringing a player in because you want to get to know them as a person. Sometimes you are bringing a player in for in this instance that in addition to trying to get to know them a little bit more as an athlete. So I think he's one that I think falls in that latter category. All right. Let's go to the wide receivers now for reported visits on that front. And we start with Omar Cooper Jr. from Indiana.
Starting point is 00:03:52 I think Eagles fans are a little bit familiar with Omar Cooper as well. Why do you think they're bringing him in? So he's an interesting player. He's a player I like a lot as far as the tape goes. But, you know, one of the things, and you guys should all become diehards to be able to check out Fran Duffy's draft guide. And one of the things in Fran Duffy's draft guide that I really like is what coaches have said about the players in the past.
Starting point is 00:04:11 And this is a quote from Kurt Signetti about Omar Cooper talking about how he has to be a consistent player more often. He has to do it day in and day out, play in and play out. he has to get rid of the inconsistency and set a higher standard for himself. Now those quotes could honestly go either way. These guys are young players, young men. Obviously, they have a lot of room to grow.
Starting point is 00:04:33 It wouldn't talk me if the Eagles wanted to get to know him as a person based off of those types of accounts, though. Not to say that it's a yellow flag or a red flag, but it is something that, again, you think about the cautionary tales of the past. You know, getting to know players, you know, like the fit that they would have in the organization personality-wise, I think that is something to keep in mind with a lot of the these visits as well. Chris Bell from Louisville. This is an easy one to understand. He's coming off
Starting point is 00:04:58 a significant injury. You want to sort of get a sense of where he is in that process and talk to the talk to the player. Yeah, I think that's exactly right. You know, a player that would probably miss a significant part of his rookie season. You get a sense of where he's at in his rehab. And again, also get a sense of his personality. Dejohn Stribling from Ole Miss 6-207 ran a blazing 43640. to me, this is one where I see two years at Washington State, two years at Oklahoma State, a year at Ole Miss. This is one where in the NIL world where you're trying to sort of suss through information from different places. I think this makes sense to me as a height, weight speed guy who jumps off the tape that way. What kind of player are we getting?
Starting point is 00:05:43 And maybe we don't trust the information we've gotten otherwise. Yeah, I think that's a good read. Like the transfers, you know, that gives you a wider scope. of information, but probably information you have to sift through more often. But I also think with a guy like him, I think this is kind of the Eagles tipping their hand a little bit, that they've got significant interests in the profile.
Starting point is 00:06:01 And for good reason. He is a fun prospect in terms of you just look at the physical attributes. Well, especially in conjunction with another player, they brought in Caleb Douglas from Texas Tech, who is also big and fast. Six, three and a half ran a four, three, nine, 40. So I think you're right. There's some connectivity there.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Yeah, there's definitely a type that we're starting to figure out what they might want at receiver in Sean Mannion's offense. All right. Seven offensive linemen brought in EJ, including two potential first round picks in Vanga Yawane, the guard from Penn State, and Caleb Lomu, the tackle from Utah.
Starting point is 00:06:33 So it's interesting because on Tuesday's show with Fran... Actually, you know what? Let me correct that. Matthew Hanachor as well from Arizona State. So three potential first round picks. So on Tuesday's show with Fran, he mentioned that Caleb Lomu has, like, not to say he's got very many similarities,
Starting point is 00:06:49 Sondre Dillard, but one being his ability to anchor and that being something he struggles with. It wouldn't shock me if the Eagles want to really investigate like the physicality and the upside to add strength to his frame there. I think that that would be one that would make sense. And honestly, also, he's just a player
Starting point is 00:07:05 that would make sense for the Eagles at 23 if he's there. Same thing with Vanga Yawane. I know that he doesn't have that tackle flex. Like he is an interior offensive lineman. I like him as a prospect, so I think it would make sense to do your due diligence with him. And then Maxi Hanachor, same thing.
Starting point is 00:07:20 I think he's probably the most likely to be there at 23. And for that reason, you want to make sure that you have a good sense of him as a person and a player. Chase Passantis, a likely second round pick. Although there's some buzz. Yeah, there is buzz for him to make it in the first round. Probably either a trade down from 23 candidate or a trade up in the second round. And then they brought in some day three guys. Markell Bell from Miami, who was a huge guy.
Starting point is 00:07:44 Yeah. And as a developmental prospect, same goes for Isaiah World from Oregon. And then Jude Bowery. from Boston College. Yeah, the Markell Bell one is fun for me because I guess it's telling because there is that question of what is the Eagles
Starting point is 00:07:57 priority at offensive line going to be post Jeff Stoutland. And I think that at least based, especially on the day three guys, you are seeing like height weight speed, unusual factors are still important for this team. I'll give you a chance to speak about one of your draft crushes this year
Starting point is 00:08:13 and that is Deny Dennis Sutton for Penn State, the Edge, who has come to visit the Eagles as well. He just feels like such an Eagles prospect, you know, a former five-star recruit. He's got a high floor as a player based off when you watch him. The tape shows a player that should be able to contribute, honestly on every down in the NFL based off of his physical profile. But then the testing that he did, you know, at the scouting combine and at the pro
Starting point is 00:08:37 day, really show that he has the physical traits to, you know, have a high ceiling as well. Now, I know it's sometimes a red flag when you don't show those traits on the field, but I think it's less of a concern for me when you see a rock-solid player on tape, a player that you expect to be an early contributor. So again, he checks a lot of the boxes for the Eagles. He's a younger player. So maybe you don't go with an eddresser in round one
Starting point is 00:09:01 because I think they are going to go heavy on offense, but I think addressing it with a player like denied Dennis Sutton on the second round or, I mean, if he makes it seen in the third, you feel great about that. I think he makes a lot of sense on day two for them. Dennis Sutton, one of two edges they brought in reportedly so far among the 18,
Starting point is 00:09:16 and the other being Romelo Height from Texas Tech, who was undersized at 6-2 and 3 quarters, 2-39, ran a great 4-6-4, but he's going to be 25 years old as a rookie. That's a... I don't know what's going on there. And then two defensive backs to close things out. Jalen Kilgore from South Carolina
Starting point is 00:09:33 and Trayden Stukes from Arizona. Both of these guys have sort of theoretical safety nickel fleck. Yeah. And you could see them as puzzle pieces in a, you know, replacing Cooper de Junion, if he needs to move around elsewhere kind of way. Yeah, Stoakes is an interesting one.
Starting point is 00:09:49 You know, I think honestly, both of them, like, to your point, that positional flex is probably the thing that stands out that the Eagles are trying to add in that way. I mean, even, like, you think about who they have in the room now, like Mac McWilliams has some theoretical flex. Your boy, Brandon Johnson, has some positional flex as well.
Starting point is 00:10:07 So, yeah, I think they're trying to stockpile those guys. All right. Well, there you go. 18 of the Eagles reported pre-draft visits. Going to find out how many of them they select join us for all your NFL draft coverage on p hely
