And welcome to the PHSY Eagles podcast, live from the Xfinity Lounge, and presented by Ashley, Bo Wolf and E.J. Smith with the last episode of the week before the preseason opener on Saturday night against the Baltimore Ravens at 7 o'clock.
Of course, we'll have to cover with the full postgame show that night. But for now, we're going to lot to get to.
Bo Wolf and E.J. Smith and E.J. 11 days. We've had a little bit of pushing and shoving.
Yeah.
But this was our first real true Trane Camp fight.
I totally agree.
I got into an argument with a few of our, you know,
esteemed colleagues who said that the Tyler Steen,
Ty Robinson fight was a real fight.
This was a real fight.
Punch is thrown, tempers completely out of control.
It was a real fight.
And I honestly, this was, it should not have gotten to the full fight that it got to.
Yeah, I completely agree.
Let's talk about this.
Let's get the set the scene.
We've got our 53-man rosters coming.
We're going to get to that.
After, you know, we talk about this, we'll give you our players of the day.
Last practice before the preseason opener, some interesting stuff happened.
But let's get to the fight.
Let's do it at the top.
Shout out to Projohn, by the way.
He says he already knows who fought because if you follow me on Instagram, you get the quick
takeaways right off the practice field.
I need these sunglasses right now.
Let's walk them through.
You want me to do the storytelling?
We had slightly different vantage points, as you said.
So let's see if we agree.
Yeah, we'll kind of go back and forth here.
Now, I assume this was the last drill of the, but it may not have been.
It ended practice a little early.
I think it's fair to say.
So team session, ones verse once, two's verse once, two's verse once.
Two's versus twos?
No, I think it.
Yeah, I think it was.
It was two's versus two.
All right.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, we're going to tell you what about it.
By the way, we love Lindsay.
Love Lindsay.
Hope Lindsay's doing well.
We got an OG over here.
We got Julia back in the producing saddle today.
Everybody give it up for Julia.
She's back.
Give it up.
All right.
brewing presented by Wawa. Yeah, no more, we won't leave you in suspense anymore. Two's versus the
twos, Fred Johnson against Morrow Ajomo here. So what I saw first, the first play where this
starts to boil over, Fred Johnson at the end of the rep checks Morrow Jomo in the throat. It's
during the play, you know, pass pro, just kind of gives him a little jab. And that jab set Morrow off.
Morrow went crazy. He is like, you know, he's yelling at Fred, and he swings on Fred immediately.
No, I didn't think that he swung.
Oh, he swung.
Okay.
I saw him, I saw him like fully square up.
He swung.
And then he does the back up to square up?
He swung and then he squared up on him.
And he's fully boxing stance.
Yeah, ready to fight and told him, you hit me on my neck.
Don't hit me on my neck.
So the second that, that happens, you and I now are going to get different vantage points for this
so we can help each other out because I made a B line.
The Eagles, maybe you should keep this on the low.
The Eagles have a screen where they replay the play over and over again so guys on the
side line can see.
you know, their position, you're basically what happened.
It's basically an all-22 view of practice.
And I was probably 30 yards away from it when the fight broke out.
When that fight broke out, I made a dash to go watch the play back to see what really
happened.
And I can confirm, like, Fred caught him right in the throat.
Yeah.
And that was what Morrow got so mad about.
And that's why I know he swung on Fred immediately after that happened.
And then it's clear, and it's happening away from the play.
Yep.
And Fred is not fully engaging.
Yeah.
Right here.
It's like he's trying to back off a little bit.
Obviously he instigated it.
But Morrow is like, Morrow was obviously furious.
Moro is screaming at the top of his lungs.
They sort of, they sort of separate them.
They defuse the situation.
Big Dom gets involved.
Big Dom comes on to the field and goes over to Morrow.
And then they should have sent them both off.
They should have at least sent Morrow off.
They should have sent one of them off.
Because Morrow was still fired up.
Yes.
And on the very next play, they're lining up in front.
Like they couldn't have moved Morrow to the other side.
No, no, no.
They moved.
They are lined up again.
and it's a running play, and Fred
buries Morrow in the dirt.
Okay, so I want to add a little bit of context.
It was a combo block.
I believe it was Drew Kendall.
Chipped Morrow.
So Morrow is in a bad spot now.
Like, he gets, he has no leverage.
And Fred, but you know that these guys are about to go right after each other.
Like, what were they thinking?
I have no idea because Fred T's off on Morrow.
He drives him into the ground.
He lays a little extra on him once they're on the ground.
And Morrow didn't even get up.
He swung it Fred before.
even got them
they're on the ground together
like Fred's up
and Morrow swings on him
he swung on him
at least two or three times
and now everybody's on the field
it's a total like mob
and it was it was as heated
I mean it's not as heated
as we've ever seen
but this summer easily
like actual punches being thrown
and then as
and then it's one of those ones
where they get separated
and Morrow comes all the way back
from the pile
and dives at Fred's knees
okay so I didn't see Morrow dive
at Fred's knees
because by being
on the video board, I couldn't see the, at that point I was totally blocked out from the fight
that's happening. So was it, I mean, I guess you don't know intent. Oh, it wasn't like going after
his knees to try to like break his knee. You think you was trying to get him on the ground. He was just
going low. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Because there was, Fred was very worked up about that. Uh, afterward. He basically
he walked away and I think it was Tank Biggsby a few other guys are calling him like, get over here,
get over. We need to talk to you. And Fred is very upset saying like he's, he went after
my knees like, you know, I got a family. You know, I'm trying to make a living and you're
trying to hurt me. Um, I can't say if Morrow Jomo was trying to hurt him. I didn't actually
see it. It didn't look to me like he's like he's trying to injure the guy. Okay. I am furious.
This is my way to get to you. Yeah. I figured like if you try to get him on the ground,
like that's just trying to fight somebody. Right. But if you're making a dive at someone's
knees. So with that said, I was actually team Morrow in this. But then I had some reporters
arguing that like, well, he tried, he went after his knees. Like that's an unwritten rule. So
I didn't see that part, but I was more team Morrow on this fight.
Nick ends practice.
Yeah, that's it.
They call off practice.
And they, like, fully separate these guys.
And then, you know, I saw Nick and Howie talking to Fred after practice.
I saw how he talks tomorrow.
And, like, he's got Milata to be like, is like, you know, the person to just take care of him.
He sends them to go get Rita's.
Yes.
Like, truly, like, go calm down.
Which is very funny.
I mean, you got to cool off.
Be cool.
Go to Rita.
He's like literally what that.
was four.
Meanwhile,
Moro's on the other side.
It was very funny.
Yeah,
Moro, I believe,
I mean,
there was a woman with him.
I don't want to
misattribute who that is.
But yeah,
Howie went over and talked
to tomorrow.
It seemed a little bit
like I'm going to talk
to you about the fight,
but also like I want to meet
whoever was with him at practice.
So,
yeah, I mean,
real fireworks.
A real,
that was a real fight.
How do you think those guys,
do you think they'll be able
to get past it?
Yeah.
I don't know.
Fred accusing him of going after his knees.
They maybe don't like each other.
Yeah.
They'll be fine.
They've been in locker rooms with guys they don't like before.
I think, again, I can't attribute the intent of Morrow going after Fred's knees if that was
a line crossing move.
I was kind of team Morrow in the sense of like, you know, these guys pushing you around on the field
and, you know, between the whistles and you think it crosses the line, I'm okay with the guy
swinging in that situation.
Well, yeah, but then we get to like the silliness of like truly throwing a punch against
a face mask.
Like, what are you accomplishing?
Yeah, Morrow was crashed out.
But you want that in an offensive tackle.
Honestly, that's my overall take, is that this is good.
I think you need a training camp fight every once in a while.
You know, it's like you want a team that has enough.
This is like this is going to sound maybe a little toxic.
But if you have a team of enough guys who are going to try and be bullies on the field,
eventually somebody's going to say you're not bullying me.
You're not going to punk me out here.
I can appreciate that.
Well, it's a good preview because next week we get a joint practice with the New England Patriots.
And do you think we're going to get $5?
there. Well, Nick's always such a stickler about if you throw a punch, you get into a fight
in practice, bless you, you're out. But that's why I thought they'd kick Morrow out of practice.
I can't believe they didn't kick Morrow out after that. Don't you think that's a great way to get
kicked out of practice? This is a Kerry Williams thing. Yeah, the Kerry Williams is doing
anecdote, right? Like you get into a fight early in a joint practice because you just don't feel
like being there. It's pretty funny. Yeah. Well, we have a super chat on this front, actually,
I believe, a question to kick things off from Go Birds XTL.
where are the most likely fights we see in joint practice?
He said, I would put most turkeys on Jalen versus Campbell.
Oh, Will Campbell?
I could see that.
Oh, that's a good one.
Jalen Carter has a great quote about the joint practices and the intensity.
He basically said, like, you know, I can't troll as much as I used to.
You know, I try not to ever start a fight, but I'll finish one.
Yeah, that's a good lot.
I believe that.
Yeah, I believe it too.
He's the one who finishes the fight.
You know what?
I could see somebody on a different team fighting Sakewan.
Seiquan has been feisty this summer
If someone tries to fight Seekwon
The whole team
The degree to which every single player
Around is going to go
Like go after that guy is very funny
Yeah
But Sequin does try
He tries to
It will be
That's what will happen
Somebody will try
Will shove Sequin
And Maelada will tackle that person
Yeah
It will be like the Kelsey
Zaire Franklin thing
I feel like Milada
Especially enjoyed today's fight
I feel like I could pick up on him
being the loudest among a very loud group of players.
I think Jordan would relish that opportunity.
Oh, yeah, for sure.
Oh, Christian Ellis, CDP says.
I don't think Christian Ellis is a fighter.
Do you think he's a fighter?
Everybody knows if they even dare look at him the wrong way.
That's the end of their life.
He's got the power of God.
He's got the power of God.
That's why I don't think he's going to fight.
Smite.
You never know.
Britton Covey is the lowest on the rankings.
No, I bet there's enough that he can,
You think Britain Covey would get into a fight?
I think Britain Covey would get involved in a fight, yeah.
I don't think so.
I don't.
He's too nice.
As someone who is too nice, I can attest.
How about, how about,
Jacori and Bennett and AJ Brown?
I could see that.
He's the most likely Eagles defensive back.
Keeley Ringo would fight AJ Brown.
Absolutely.
Healy's got that side to him.
You see it on special teams.
Okay.
I could see AJ trying to show up.
E.J. talks some smack.
Yeah.
I think as crazy as people won't want to hear this and listen,
we'll get to Quinyan in a second.
If Quineon's out there, I could see Quineon fighting, AJ.
I could see that too.
Like almost like a brotherly fight, I could see that.
I'm not anti-fighting.
I don't personally get into fights,
but I love it when other people fight.
Trying to think who else.
Yeah.
Ty Robinson's already been in a fight.
I could see him getting pushed around.
Yeah, him and Tyler Steen.
Tyler Steen's got that side to him as well.
Yeah.
I respect it.
He sure does.
You got to be that way to play football sometimes.
All right.
Let's close the book on What's Brewing presented by Wow.
I have a few more super chats to get to as well.
But let's talk a little bit more about practice itself on this day in South Philadelphia.
Let's give your player the day, E.J. Smith.
Yeah.
A couple candidates.
Honestly, one of my candidates is at the expense of the guy I ended up picking.
I'm going with Antivian Wicks for Player of the Day today.
Yep.
I thought he looked really smooth today.
He obviously had a really strong start to camp,
maybe a little bit of a quieter second act,
but I thought today he really kind of showed levels
for the Eagles receiving core,
and I'll explain why.
He hit a nice outbreaker on a third and five against Mac McLeams.
It was during a situational period,
and he was the guy that moved the chains for him there.
He had another quick out against Rick Wollen on a third and six,
and this was a third in goal later in practice,
and this was for a touchdown.
And the reason why I say he showed levels with this
is because Jalen Hertz threw an interception actually today,
which we'll get into to Hollywood Brown on a speed out.
And I think the precision on a route was something that was a sticking point,
something that they worked on after practice.
And I think, like, you're going to show, they would show, like,
how Don Tavian Wicks runs those routes.
I think the fact that he's a little bit further ahead in the offense,
a little bit more comfortable.
And I think he's a little bit further ahead with chemistry with Jalen.
Like, on a day where you're missing Mackay Lemon and Devante Smith,
Dantavion Wix shows you what it's supposed to look like
to be one of the three or four best receivers on the team.
I think Darius Cooper has been consistent and been really good,
but I thought this was a really good Dantavian Wicks day.
I thought so too.
Those two plays in particular, very nice.
Dantamian Wicks has had a very good summer.
Yeah.
And he is very clearly going to be a major part of the passing game.
He has that, like,
route running ability to get open in those short windows.
And it's clear that Jalen Hertz likes throwing him the ball.
Yeah, and likes him, you know, likes his play style,
his play energy.
I think that right now, I think,
I think Jalen is probably in a, I got to trust everybody out here.
But if you ask me who out there right now, is he going to trust on a third and six?
Got to have it.
The guy he threw the ball to on third and six twice today, Don Tavian Wicks.
Obviously, Devante and Mackay and Mackay is going to have to develop chemistry with.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think Devontey and I think Darius Cooper as well.
I think he has trust in those guys.
But I think the trust that you're seeing from Jalen Hertz for Dontabian Wix is noteworthy
with the rest of this group right now.
Now you were going to say you were also considering Mack McWilliams because he's the one who had the
interception.
Yeah, so Mac McWilliams was the one who undercut the speed out from Hollywood Brown.
And, you know, we'll talk about, like, how did Jalen Hertz respond to the interception heard around the internet yesterday?
Yeah, I know.
But, yeah, he threw a pick early in practice today because of a route from Hollywood Brown on a speed out.
Now, listen, ball placement, again, not great.
Obviously, you put it in a spot where the corner can jump the route.
But after practice today, Jalen and Hollywood Brown worked on that route extensively.
They probably spent 15, 20 minutes working on it.
And I thought overall, Mac Mac Williams had a decent day.
He was working with the ones more than we have seen
because Quinion Mitchell and Cooper de Gene were both sideline today.
I said, what are their injuries, please?
Yeah, Quinion Mitchell has a glute injury.
Cooper de Gene has a groin injury.
So they're both out.
Both sideline.
I knew you were going to do this.
I knew you were going to do this.
Both sideline.
What have they been getting up to?
I knew you were going to do this.
I literally, when I wrote it down in my notebook,
like I make my notes for the show,
I say, Quiddell Mitchell, Glute injury,
Cooper to Gene groin injury, both out.
I literally wrote it down.
Well, I mean, listen, we can joke about it.
You know, that at the same time,
one of them gets a glute injury,
one of them gets a groin injury.
But it tells you that this is a team
that is much more of a piece together,
working together than the days when Anthony Harris
went out on the injured list by himself
with a hand injury and a groin injury.
It's good. They're working together.
I can tell you that both Quineau Mitchell and Cooper de Gene were out watching practice,
which is sometimes, you know, you can take that as a small, a slightly good sign.
Quinnia Mitchell didn't actually, I'm just going to plow right through this.
I'm not going to talk about this at all.
Yeah, that's how we got into this trouble in the first place.
Oh, man.
Quinnia Mitchell, when he had like the awkward fall a couple days ago and he was out on this,
like he did not participate in practice.
it was a Tuesday but he didn't go inside he didn't talk to a trainer for an extensive amount of
time so we'll keep an eye on it but yeah both of those guys out and for that reason mac mac mc williams
and keely wringo rotated a lot with the ones today i thought mshaway actually got a couple of reps as well
yeah the new guy yeah uh i thought mac mc williams of that group looked the best though i think
you made a couple plays on the ball i have you know listen you got beat by dontavian wicks on the one
but overall i thought mac looked pretty decent uh working him with the ones i agree uh my
player of the day, not a sexy one necessarily, but somebody wanted to give a shout out to,
who I think has stacked good days after good days and had a very solid summer. And I was
focusing on him in O-line, D-line two-on-toos. And he handled himself very well against the good
competition he's going up against. And that is Tyler Steen. I think Tyler Steen has had a very good
summer for the most part. And, you know, not for nothing has been the only guy who's actually
been out there every single day, every single period, every single rep with the first team
offensive line and has not been an issue. I mean, there have been times when Jalen Carter and
Morrow are wrecking practice. And it feels like to me that's more come on the left side of the
line of the offensive line than the right side. So I think Tyler Steyn has handled himself very well
this summer, a player who was in a contract year. I'm curious to see how that plays out. But a little
shout out to Tyler's team. Yeah, you know, one of my regrets looking back at the exercise Fran and I did
yesterday where we ranked the players that you feel best about if you played a game tomorrow.
I actually feel like him having Tyler Steen number two on that list over Landon Dickerson.
I think that is fair.
You know, I keep going back to the big questions we had going into training camp and, you know,
obviously one of them was how is that interior offensive line going to look.
The old line overall, but particularly Cam Juergens and Landon Dickerson.
And as good as I feel about Cam is as concerned as I am about Landon right now.
And in the, you know, in the periphery,
Tyler's team has been kind of like,
you almost take it for granted that he has been
a consistent performer at each and every day
and is like developed into the type of offensive linemen
probably envisioned in that he is like a quality starter.
You know, he's not,
I don't think they drafted him hoping that he was going to be like an all pro.
Obviously, that would have been great.
But I think he has kind of reached where you would have hoped
that he would reach when they drafted him.
I think that's right.
All right, time to take our first break on the PHAY Eagles podcast.
On the other side,
more notes from practice and then after that we'll get into our early 53 men roster.
What if you had the same stain on your shirt for five whole years and nobody told you about it?
That would be pretty tough.
Almost as tough as if you had internet that kept raising their prices every single year,
making you pay more, making it worse.
It's tough to be a consumer these days.
but not at Xfinity because of the five year price guarantee where they tell you that you can have five years of reliable, intelligent Wi-Fi at the same price for five years in a row.
We know how much can change over the course of five years.
You know what's not going to change?
The cost of your internet.

I know somebody that
fits that description.
The Aspreys.
Get your tickets.

You do. That's the truth.
It'll be a good time. It's gonna be a really good time.
Super Chats.
It's E.J.'s birthday.
Don't you, like,
yes.
Yeah. The big three, two.
I mean, do it for him.
Look.
Look at this. Look at this face. You gotta,
you gotta come.
You don't want to disappoint me, do you?
Yeah, that's right.
Look at me.
Come on, what are we doing?
That beautiful guy.
Now show him the sad face if people don't go.
Yeah, we can't have that.
We can't be having that.
That's terrible.
Super chat from Dinkleberg.
And I noticed that people did notice that the Dinkleberg
Gush Push superchats have dropped to the 199 level.
A recession indicator.
Your pocket watching Dinkleberg?
Dinglebury, we love you.
We will get to the gush push in our roster projections.
I promise you that.
Rob Milner, have you seen any 6-0-line snaps,
and who is the extra O-line?
Actually, don't think that we have.
Yeah, I haven't noticed any.
Although Landon Dickerson did call Willie Lampkin their secret weapon.
Could it mean that?
Yeah, we haven't really seen any fullback sets.
Even Carson Steele, when he gets the ball,
he's just as a running back.
Carson Steele, man.
I feel like that's another one where Nick is maybe,
waiting until reporters don't get to watch practice to bust that out.
Yeah.
I got a note from Nick's presser that I'll weave in here.
I expect him to be very vanilla in the preseason.
Nick mentioned that in 2021,
they showed something in the preseason
that then when they tried to use in the regular season
the team was prepared for.
So he said everyone's watching.
And for that reason,
I think you're going to see the base of the base offense.
A lot of Britain Covey, you're saying.
I think you'll see a lot of outside zone.
And you'll see, maybe you'll see a lot of
I think that's all you're going to be seeing out there.
Dale Ridgeway.
How much will I have to donate daily for you guys to start referring to Darius Cooper as
Big Shush?
Is that a thing?
Is that one of his nicknames?
I'm not familiar with that nickname.
Big Shush.
I mean, listen, if you're going to do $10 a day, I'll give you the big shush.
I mean, could you, with those $10, could you at least explain, like,
why that's his nickname.
I mean, I don't hate it.
It's not on his pro football reference page.
Big shush.
I like it.
Nice moment from Darius Cooper today.
He got the podium today.
To my knowledge, that's his first time on the podium.
And in the podium, or in the media tent,
his mother and his wife, Kennedy.
I think his mother's name is Veronica.
I met them afterward.
And yeah, they were like beaming, watching him up at the podium.
It was a very human moment that you can attribute
to a player that is having.
Obviously a standout summer, you think about him as the player, the potential that he has on the field.
But he is just a very interesting, I mean, I can call him a young man.
I'm older now.
He's an interesting young man.
You know, I wrote the story about him last year.
He took his first NIL check and used it to tithe.
Yep.
You know, which just speaks to the discipline and the faith that he, you know, I guess that rules his life.
And yeah, it was really nice to see his family today.
You know, they seem like they have a real presence at training.
He's very Jalen on the podium, too.
Oh, he's like beyond Jalen.
But unlike a lot of players where I feel like it's just like,
I'm just going to say this over and over again to not try and say anything,
I think he is very singularly focused,
which is very similar to Jaylin.
I think he has this down to a process and a science of like the truly,
it truly is get better every day.
It is don't focus on anything that doesn't get me better all the time,
which is why I think Jalen has a lot of respect for him.
They're like-minded individuals.
Pat Fiener's back with a super chat.
What's up, Pat Fetus?
Greetings from Paternity leave.
We got a little finis running around somewhere.
Pat Ternity leave.
Pat Ternity leave.
I can't wait to tell my mother a law.
Sorry, I've been out of the loop.
Should Jalen and his mommy sue Oklahoma for his name, image, and likeness?
Did you see this?
Yeah, this is Jan Daniels?
Yeah, that was strange.
We got a little penis.
A little sicko finus somewhere.
Congratulations, Pat.
Again, my mother-in-law is.
gonna be thrilled to hear this news.
But you know, you gotta give me some tips.
Gotta give me some pointers on that
to survive the newborn trenches.
That phoenix was working overtime.
All right, let's get to the other notes from practice.
That felt like a little bit too far.
I agree to cross the line without.
Listen.
You never know where the line is unless you cross it.
You got to dance around.
line and if you're dancing every now and then you're gonna overstep that was
worse than the Cooper dejean thing I mean both inappropriate but I think that one
was a lot like when you step over the line of practice you gotta get you gotta
get called out for it mm oh man all right notes from practice
um yeah we mentioned the um the cornerback rotation it's good for Keeley Ringo
he's in that rotation but I think Mac McWilliams
looked better in the early going.
During seven-on-sevons, I think you were over at one-on-ones.
There's a heavy tight-end day, for at least a heavy tight-end session.
Johnny Munn on a return route, which I really liked from Johnny Munn.
And I think if you're trying to envision what his role is going to be in this offense,
I think that complimentary, like you kind of sell the flat and then cut back in.
Usually you pair that with like a shallow crosser from the main guy.
I think that is going to be, you'll see him do that a lot in the regular season.
So you see that.
Steamship.
He looks okay.
I mean, he looks fine.
He's fine.
And then, interestingly enough, it was like, I mean, I would call it a stick route.
Like Dallas Goddard kind of sells vertical and then cuts outside or he can shorten it,
depending on what the coverage is.
He ran two of them on opposite sides of the field or the seven-on-sevents.
And then they ran consecutive fade routes, one to Michael Carter, or sorry, one to Don Tavian Wix,
and Michael Carter had good coverage on it.
Obviously, he's given up some height there, so that was noteworthy for me.
and then Rieke Wullen against Johnny Wilson
on the same exact play.
Like same exact play with just the next one.
And Rieck Wollin also had a PBU.
So two good coverages against Fade Routes
down there in the red zone.
It was two on twos with the O-Line D-Line.
I'm going to quickly tell you
what the offensive line depth chart was today.
So Fred Johnson back on the left,
Mark Elbell on the right.
This was a Jake Majors at Center Day for the most part
with Drew Kendall at right guard.
and John Ojuquoo getting some work
as second team left guard.
But then there's some rotation
where the Lampian gets involved there
as you would expect
Michael Jordan working with the threes
Cam Williams and Holland Pierce
at tackle
and Michael Morris
as the other guard.
I still like a little Micka Morris
we'll get to him.
Of the notes here,
not a ton,
Gabe Paul has looked pretty good
the last couple days
and overpowered Drew Kendall
one time,
actually twice.
It looked like,
like the starting offensive line did a good job against a starting defensive line.
And Tehran Jackson.
I like a Tehran Jackson.
More good fresh legs from him.
Anything else in the regular team sessions?
I thought it was another good day for Sequin Barkley.
A couple big gains.
I had them down for like a nice cutback on a zone.
It looked like an inside zone.
You know, sort of went against the grain of traffic and had a big gain.
and then I had him down for an outside zone run
that he took for a big gain as well.
So again, we've kind of talked about it.
I think that Sequin's having a really good camping.
I mentioned it earlier.
It just wasn't a great day for Hollywood Brown.
He had a drop on a screen.
Obviously, he was at least in part
responsible for the interception
that Jalen hurts through.
Again, I think the ball placement was bad there.
It feels like it's just been a rough couple days for Hollywood Brown.
I don't know if I would say that he's in jeopardy.
We'll get into it on the 53.
I don't know if I'd say he's in jeopardy of making the team quite yet.
He's got a lot of guaranteed money relative to the other guys.
And he's looked good in the early stretch of camp,
but kind of hit a snag the last few practices.
Well, let's talk about him now,
because that's an interesting one.
We'll see where he lands on our 53s.
But I wonder if they can find a trade partner for him.
Yeah.
Because if you think about,
if McCai Lim was going to be ready for week one,
Devante, Mackay,
Garius Cooper, those guys are going to,
make the team, Tewicks, obviously.
That's four.
So then you're talking Hollywood Brown
because it's got the guaranteed money.
Elijah Moore has had a pretty good camp,
maybe offers slightly similar things.
Do you want Johnny Wilson
or just for the specific skill set?
I mean, obviously you're not carrying seven,
but it makes Hollywood somewhat dispensable
if you get some kind of return.
Yeah, I think that the trade route
is probably more likely than just outright cutting him.
Yeah, I don't think they'll do that.
Yeah, it's hard to know what his market would be.
I think if you could trade him, you feel good about the fact that Darius Cooper has pushed his way into meaningful snaps.
I think that that's like the quote-unquote good problem to have.
So yeah, I mean, if they could find a suitor, maybe.
If they could find a suitor, I think they would probably trade him, you know, not to sit on the fence here.
There was an interesting throw from Jalen over the middle.
Very tight window, kind of a second, third read to Elijah Moore, hit him in the hands.
Elijah Moore dropped it
and it was one where
if it was a game
it was probably gonna be a big hit
McCuba did hit him
yeah
it was one of those
where there
Macuba couldn't go anywhere
right yeah
I think that was
probably you probably
categorized that as a hospital ball
so
because I actually didn't write down
that he dropped it
I just wrote down
that it was like a lot of traffic
and McCuba had no choice
hit him right in the hands
yeah
got a catch the ball
but yeah
we had different angles
on that one too
so that's actually
Jalen was very fired up after his touchdown pass at Dallas Goddard in the red zone.
It was a nice catch by Goddard.
It was a good ball up over McCuba.
It was a perfect, you know, we're talking about from like the five-yard line.
Yeah.
Back of the end zone as his crossing, you know, perfectly spotted.
Yeah.
It was interesting that he was fired up after that one because a couple plays later is when
he hit Don Tavian Wicks on the speed out.
That was another one.
You know, we talked a lot about when they were in the bubble, the fact that, you know,
Elijah Mitchell goes the wrong way.
Sorry, Elijah Moore, I keep doing that.
Elijah Moore went the wrong way,
and, you know, they got crossed up,
and that led to Aquinian Mitchell interception.
And then Jaylen was really fired up
when he hit Elijah Moore
a couple of plays later on the seam route.
I thought that he was going to be fired up
that they got the speed out right,
even though it was a different guy.
Maybe if it was Hollywood Brown,
he would have been fired up.
Two more super chats before we had to break.
MOP 85.
Glad I caught E.J.
He does a great job as an insight.
I appreciate that MOP.
Did you meet him at practice?
Is this a...
Um...
Just not be he's easier.
I don't...
If I did, I apologize.
I don't think I met him at practice.
If I didn't...
If I did, let me know.
Reach out on Instagram.
E.J. Smith reports.
And I'll apologize.
Steve Clef, with a generous super chat.
Says, if you had to trade Morrow Ojo,
would you rather get a wide receiver or a tight end?
Any candidates come to mind.
Don't want to trade Morrow,
but he's kind of a luxury relative to those other positions.
Happy birthday, E.J.
Appreciate that.
For the record.
My birthday is on the Ospreys.
Yes.
But, yeah, I'll take birthday wishes whenever.
Yeah, why not?
Would you rather trade more for a wide receiver or a tight end?
Probably a receiver?
But, I mean, yeah, you probably trade him for, you probably trade, if you had to trade him,
you trade him, you trade him for a receiver.
I just, a secondary tight end, like, you have Eli Stowers.
Like, you'd have to basically be giving up on Eli Stowers as, like,
develop and track to trade for, like, a starting caliber tight end, you know?
Yeah.
Maybe if it's like...
I don't know that I don't know that I would make that trade.
For a tight end?
The kind of wide receiver or tight end that you would get for Morrow.
Doesn't strike me as worth it.
I wouldn't make the trade, yes.
But if you had to do it, which one are you picking?
I'm picking receiver.
Probably a receiver?
Yeah, like a true bona fide number two.
Yeah.
Or a 1B.
Although, I don't know.
The idea of like a true tight end.
But you know what?
The idea of is it even better?
the idea of having more Ojovo
as one of your three defensive tackles.
Yeah, I think that's probably worth it.
Some insight from Dale Ridgeway
circling back to the big shush
on Darius Cooper.
Big shush because he's our best kept secret.
That might be Willie Lampkin.
Who's the best kept secret
on the Eagles roster right now?
Cole Payton.
I don't know about that.
On the other side, after these 120 seconds
of ads, we will begin to tell you

All right. Back on the page of why it goes podcast
and Bo and EJ. Let's get to it.
53 man roster projections.
Ahead.
Preseason opener on Saturday.
Good little touchpoint on how things stand.
Yeah.
Let's start at the quarterback position.
Four players on the roster right now.
Jalen Hertz.
Senator McKee.
Andy Dalton.
Cole Payton.
Now, as I went through this exercise, E.J.,
I found 29 guys who are like stone cold deadlocks absolutely on the roster.
Another eight where like, okay, pretty much going to be on the roster.
Like your Marcus Epps level player.
Yeah.
And then that leaves 16 spots.
And of those, there are a few where it's like, okay, a fifth wide receiver,
two more offensive linemen, one edge, one, at least one.
one linebacker, three or four guys from secondary.
And then after that, you've got like five spots to play with.
Yeah.
Or just these could go to anybody.
With that in mind, right now, I have the Eagles taking four quarterbacks.
Really?
I think they would love to find a trade partner potentially.
I agree.
For Tanner McKee or Andy Dalton.
But I think there is wiggle room for them to sort of call, like call their own bluff.
and tell the league,
yeah,
we would like to trade one,
but we've got room to keep all four.
You've got to make it worth our while
to get one of these guys.
I think that Col Payton has shown enough
that they're going to want to hold on to him
and develop him.
They've got this whole infrastructure
of quarterback developers
in the building right now.
I think they can make Col Payton
kind of a side project.
He's shown enough to be worth that.
Yep.
I also think from a draft pick standpoint,
they're going to be cutting a couple of other day three draft picks.
I think they're going to want to keep
Cole Payton around.
I've got Cole Payton pretty solidly going to make this team,
even though he has not shown a ton over the past couple weeks of camp.
He's one of the players I'm most excited to watch in the preseason.
I mean, just keeping I'm honest.
I thought you already said he was on the team.
Well, I did.
Now, it sounds like you backtracked a little bit.
I literally just said he's on the team.
No, you didn't.
You didn't literally just say that.
I said I did my 53-man roster and he's on the team.
Chat.
What are you talking about?
You said, I think he has a pretty solid.
chance of making solidly on the team.
You didn't say definitively.
It sounds like...
Did I project him to be on the roster?
What are we talking about?
Julia. Julia, he said to help
solidly. He could
probably be on the team.
This is unbelievable.
At no point. After the first
day of camp, you said he was on the team.
I agree with myself.
And I am right. Is it guaranteed?
Is it 100%?
Yes. Okay. All right. That's just not what you said.
You know, just kind of clarify.
I'm trying to help.
you out. You are not helping me out at all. I didn't, I had at no point there did I contradict
anything I've ever said. You just, yeah, you just softened it a little bit. Just wanted to make
sure we did nothing changed. Please. Listen, there are lots of things you can call me on. This is
not one of them. Rewind the tape, as Prove John said. I don't disagree with you. I think that Cole
Peyton has earned a roster spot throughout the training camp. You know, I waited a little bit longer.
I wasn't the first to call it. But yeah, I think that they will keep playing. Oh, does that mean not you
change your mind.
I think he belongs on the roster.
I only had three quarterbacks.
There's not really precedent for the Eagles carrying four.
I tried to find an example.
I could not find one.
Since the 53-man rosters have been published online,
I don't think the Eagles have carried four quarterbacks.
I agree with you.
I think that they'd like to move on from one of Tanner McKee or Andy Dalton.
In my projection,
I have them flipping Andy Dalton.
I know you might make the argument who's going to trade for Andy Dalton that wouldn't have traded for him earlier in the offseason.
Teams quarterback situations trade or change over time.
You know, I think there's probably a handful of teams across the NFL who maybe weren't in the Andy Dalton market early this off season, but maybe things didn't materialize how they'd hope.
So, yeah, I think the Eagles probably, they could get like great compensation for Tanner McKee.
I think that might be their first choice.
But I think the second more realistic choice is that they can flip Andy Dalton for a late
round pick. Yeah, I think, I think they've got their own evaluations or valuations for what each of
them is worth on the trade market. And it is more likely that Dalton's price gets met than McKee's
price. Yeah. But I also don't think that they're in the business of keeping a guy who they think is,
is the worst backup quarterback. So it's, if they believe that Andy Dalton is a better backup quarterback
right now, then I don't think they're going to trade him. Yeah.
that's where I'm calling their bluff.
Andy Dalton has played a lot this summer,
and it feels like he does have the ever so slight edge
whenever it is like who's the first up with the twos.
It's usually Andy Dalton.
I just am chalking that up to Andy Dalton
is more comfortable in the scheme.
He's a more experienced quarterback,
but if they needed a quarterback to play in week nine,
let's not call it week one,
midway through the season, late in the season,
I think you'd rather have Tanner McKay.
Based off what we've seen from Andy Dalton in recent years.
All right. Running backs,
this one seems pretty easy to me
that's straightforward for me
until Damien Pierce got injured
I thought there was a real chance
he was pushing Will Shipley
it's possible that that could still happen
but I don't know that you necessarily need to use a roster spot on him
right now I've got
Sequin and Tank
as lock of all locks
and I do have Shipley making it
I agree I have the same exact three
I think this is another one where
they could be looking at the waiver wire
yeah and especially
especially for a fourth, you know, maybe a young player you feel good about developing,
but I have them going heavier at other positions, so I feel like carrying three running backs
is a good way to balance it.
All right.
What do you do at wide receiver?
I went maybe a little lighter than you'll expect at receiver.
I have them keeping five.
I have Devante Smith, Dontavian Wicks, Mackayleman, Darius Cooper, and Hollywood Brown.
I know that people will point to Hollywood or Elijah Moore.
I know.
I was so worried about saying Elijah Mitchell.
that I said Hollywood more instead.
I know people will point to Elijah Moore
having a really productive training camp,
and he has.
He's been involved.
He's at high volume targets on most of the days.
My argument is twofold.
First off, he is a vested veteran
that you can get through to the practice squad.
He spent most of last year on a practice squad,
and a lot of times, you know,
as someone who has won, you know,
the competition of predicting the 53-man rosters,
someone who is maybe called the Joe Lenardi,
a 53-man roster predictions earlier today on Antich.
That is not a compliment.
you know, as someone who does the rastertology.
As someone who has literally done a better job predicting the NCAA tournament seating than
Joe Lanardi every single time I've done it.
Let me tell you, I think that's probably a good comparison for you.
I'm not to say you should like the comparison then.
But a lot of times you don't need to get wrapped up in training camp performance so much
as who do they need to keep on the 53-man roster and who can get to the practice.
squad.
Elijah Moore is a candidate for that where you can cut him, tell him, we want you on the
practice squad, you're going to have a role on the team.
You know, honestly, he could have a role in the offense in week one, depending on what
happens with Mackay Lemon and how quickly he's able to come back.
So I think for the Eagles, making Elijah Moore like a practice squad type player early
in the season, I think it makes sense.
I completely agree with you.
That's the same thing I have.
And I think right now, I don't know that they need to use a spot on Elijah Moore unless
they find a trade partner for Hollywood Brown.
Gotcha. Yeah, I agree.
I like how you went. Hey Wicks there. That's nice.
Tight end.
Dallas Goddard, going to be on the team.
Johnny Munt is going to be on the team.
Eli Stower is going to be on the team,
unless he suffers some kind of injury.
Do you have a fourth tight end
among Cameron Lattu,
Stone Smart, E.J. Jenkins, and Grant Calcutera.
Painting to me to say that I do not.
Really?
I don't have Cam Latu on.
If they have used him as a fullback,
even sparingly, I would have talked myself into it.
I think he's another guy that they could probably get him through to the practice squad.
I don't know.
I just, I don't think they have a big enough role for him that if he were to get claimed,
they would be, like, devastated about it.
You know what I mean?
I would be annoyed.
Sure.
This would be like, I would be a wreck.
Oh, man, what is his name?
I can see his face.
The edge rusher that the commander's claimed.
His name starts to the sea.
Oh, Casey Two Hill.
Casey Two Hill.
I just kept thinking Clayton Thorson.
And I'm like, that's not him.
He'd be my Casey Two Hill.
But, you know, I just, I can't get him on the 53 right now.
I do have a fourth tight end making the team.
Is he Camuatu?
It is not.
It is Grant Cacetara.
And if you think about Eli Stowers is not going to be active on game days,
they need a third tight end active.
I think that's Grand Cacetara.
Some people might not like that.
It's possible that they will find somebody else
around the league to fill that spot, but I'm pretty sure they're going to carry four tight ends.
Yeah, I mean, they will be using two to three, probably three on game day.
I think the gap between Grant Calcutera on the 53 and E.J. Jenkins on the practice squad is
probably enough of a wash that I wouldn't have them on. But to your point, like, again,
sometimes with this, you want to know, like, has the player been on a practice squad and not gotten
claim before like what is the league's opinion we have not gotten that answer on grand calcutera
at the very least so i get it's a free agent and signed yeah but you know what i mean like with elijah more
it's like he just was on a practice squad yeah um grand calcutera we haven't really gotten that experience
all right we got to squeeze in our final break here on the p hale i eagles podcast coming back on the other

Back on the PHOI Eagles podcast, Boen EJ.
Offensive line.
I count eight or seven locks.
Yeah.
Okay, the five stars.
Drew Kendall,
Markle Bell.
Yep.
Those guys are all going to make this team.
I have three more guys making it.
Same.
But I think you might be surprised by one of them.
Maybe.
I have you want me tell you tell you you
tell me you want me to tell you mine
yes okay I don't know why I show
what's that Willie Lampkin
I also have Willie Lampkin I don't think that's
done and dusted he's got to
he's got to hold up through the rest of the preseason
yeah health wise and play wise
but right now I do have him on
you're gonna be surprised by the next name I give you
Micah Morris I also have
Michael Morris on I think he has shown
enough to be a developmental player
I like a Michael Morris
I like a Michael Morris too
I have Fred Johnson on
Okay
And is that your last one
You're the last one
And I wonder if you don't have him on
Right now I do not have Fred Johnson on
Yeah
And I think when push comes to shove
I might be wrong about that
But I think they will think
That they can keep him around
If he doesn't make the 53
I think to some degree
John Ajuku
has made him a little bit redundant
And Ajuku can play guard
I was gonna say
Ajuquo playing guard today
Is very noteworthy
He's done it a little bit in camp already.
I think if you believe that Mark Elbelle is ready to be the game day swing tackle,
then you don't need to use the roster spot on Fred.
And I have a weird one here.
This is my last spot.
I do not have Fred.
I do not have a jukew.
I have Cam Williams sticking around as the roster spot.
And I'm thinking about the fact that Cam Williams put on tape in week 18,
a very solid performance in the NFL.
I think the team is a little bit disappointed
in the way he came back to camp
this year.
But I think if you're just thinking
about how he's understanding
of who they can keep in the building together,
I think he can probably bring either Fred
or a Juku back, potentially both of them,
while exposing them,
but you're probably losing Cam Williams
given the fact that he put on tape
a good performance in a regular season game in week 18.
We'll see how he does in the preseason.
But you're also thinking about a post-season
lane world if
Markle Bell ends up being
the next right tackle. It's
worth keeping Cam Williams around if you think
that he could become a swing tackle. Yeah, it's
an interesting one. We saw last
year that training camp performance
doesn't always predict who they keep
because I mentioned Trevor Kagan a second
ago. I would not have had Trevor Keegan
anywhere near the 53 based on the summer you had
last year, but the Eagles kept him
and obviously they moved on from him shortly thereafter,
but I think that that developmental
aspect where it's like who's going to get
claimed on waivers, I think that's a real thing.
And Halley will have a good sense on if there is an interest in him on waivers,
you know, elsewhere throughout the league.
I think that that was part of what played into the Trevor Keegan situation last year.
I'll be honest, Fred is probably the 53rd guy on my roster.
And you'll be surprised because I've got some interesting names on defense.
But Fred is the player I felt the worst about for what you said.
It feels like a guy that you could sneak on to the practice squad.
Markell Bell makes it so if he ended up somewhere else,
which you wouldn't be exposed to waivers.
I guess it would be if he wants to chase an opportunity somewhere else.
If you have Markell Bell,
and if you feel like Ojuquo gives you more versatility
in that second tackle spot after the first guy off the bench,
I think he is getting more expendable.
I think it's a reflection of the fact that he's not looked good this summer.
You know, I have the fight notwithstanding.
You know, take that out of the equation.
He's played good football for the Eagles, but I don't know.
He hasn't looked like that guy this summer so far.
Where are you on special teams?
I've got all three specialists making it.
You got Rocco Underwood making it as a long snout.
I thought about getting cute with Rocco Underwood off
so I could get somebody else on,
but I try to stay true to it and just have the three guys.
We'll see if I stay.
I've got him on two.
Yeah.
It's also different than a veteran.
Right.
He will be exposed to waivers.
Yeah.
But I don't know that, I don't know.
I would be lying if I told you I had a strong opinion about the camp that
Underwood has had.
We'll see how he does in the games.
Yes, I agree with that.
All right.
edge as we flipped to the defense.
Now, for me, that was 26 on offense.
You had the same, right?
Because I think we had the same.
Oh, no, you had three tight ends.
You have 25 each.
Yeah.
Edge-wise, I am curious
if we are going to get to a point
where Jonathan Grenard is a pup candidate.
Hmm.
And he has to miss what, the first six weeks?
I believe it's now four instead of six.
I don't know if we're there yet.
Vic has been slow playing it,
but when Vic talks about slow playing it,
It's like we won't see him until the end of camp.
Yeah, I think this is probably not the case.
Yeah, probably need to set back for that to happen.
Yeah.
It's a thing worth considering as you go through this exercise at the position.
Assuming he's on, obviously Nolan and Jalix are locks.
That's three.
The top guys there are at Biketti and Epinessa.
Yep.
You could also potentially get a little spicy with Joshua Wieroo.
What are you thinking?
I got spicy.
Really?
I've got Joshua Weiru on my 53-man roster.
Interesting.
And I'll tell you why.
I think both of those guys, Uar Bernard and Joshua Weir,
I don't think the Eagles will want to expose them to waivers.
We can sometimes overstate the idea that the other teams in the NFL are all staring at the Eagles waiver wire.
But we also do have evidence even last week that teams will claim the players at the Eagles wave.
You know, maybe not more than other teams.
But, yeah.
But I think that the intrigue in Joshua Weiru and U.R. Bernard league-wide
is probably too much to take the risk.
And with O'R. Bernard,
this is going to sound maybe a little strange,
so hang with me here.
I think he would benefit from a year
living in Philadelphia,
being in the meeting rooms,
being around football for a year,
even if you stashed him on IR.
I'm not sure that O'R. Bernard
has as much to gain.
This can sound crazy, I know,
but I'm not sure he has as much to gain
from a year of football practice
as Joshua Wiru does right now.
I think Joshua Wiru is further along
in his development.
development and therefore I wouldn't want to take football away from him for a year and just have
him in the meeting rooms. I think the strength program is going to be huge for him. But being on the
field, getting reps, we've seen him do more with the reps so far, the New R. Bernard, which is no fault
of UR. Bernard, it's for the record. He is new to the game. But I think it speaks to where they are
both at in their development. If you don't want to expose them to waivers, I would have Joshua
Weaver on the 53 and I would IR stash who are. Interesting. I think so what you're
proposing is if you only had one IR stash and one hold spot, you would use the IR stash on
UR.
Yeah.
I think that's probably right.
Although I do think that Wiru, you could make the opposite argument because Wiru seems
like he knows what's going on a little more.
Sure.
And is the one who needs more of the actual physical development, I think, than UR does.
He could use the physical development.
Yeah.
But I also think that from a actually practicing standpoint,
like UR's probably not going to be on the practice field
and get a lot of reps because he just
is taking away from like what's going on a little bit.
Yeah, exactly.
And you're not going to put him on scout team.
I will tell you that I have UR making my team
and I don't have Wiru making my team
as much as I love Wiru.
He is my camp crush.
I just think that I find it hard pressed to believe
that he's going to get claimed
given that he went undrafted
unless he really shows out in the preseason.
and I'm open to that possibility
but if he doesn't do that
I don't know that he's going to get claimed
because he requires
real like thoughtfulness
in your development plan
yeah I think my argument is that
there's always a chance
it only takes one and what France said on yesterday
I thought was a good point is they're going to have the joint practices
the Patriots are going to see this guy
yeah that's true
and to me the question then becomes
can you live with the outcome of him
getting claimed on waivers.
I think that Joshua Weiru has shown enough this summer where the Eagles don't want to live
with that possibility.
You might be right.
Yeah.
You might be right.
So then do you have Eponessa and Ebukati?
Yep.
I have six edge rushers.
Okay.
I have both guys making it as well.
I think it's possible if in a Wiru situation where maybe Eponessa is your hope to get,
keep around on the practice squad kind of guy.
But I think he's been better than that.
Epinessa, I agree.
Yeah.
You're right.
They could play some games.
I didn't need to play games here because I played games other places.
Okay.
Yeah.
Defensive tackle.
I already told you I have O-R.
Do you have O-R on?
I do not.
I have a message as I-R.
I think again, you get him in the strength program.
You get him just living in Philadelphia in the meeting rooms.
I think he still has a lot of growth in that area without being on the practice field.
Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Morrow Ojimo, our locks.
Where did you fall with Byron Young, Gabe Hall, and Ty Robinson?
I have Byron Young on.
Another player I don't feel good about.
Ty Robinson is on my 53.
Me too.
He's a former fourth-round pick.
He's entering a second year.
I think we've just seen enough from Howie Roseman
to suggest that a fourth round pick
entering their second year is not going to get
Ty. He's not going to expose that guy to waivers.
He has not shown very much in training camp,
but I think this is one where they'll just want to keep him around.
Yeah, it's not impossible.
But right now, he's one of like my final three guys
who makes the team.
Yep. If Fred's my 53rd,
tie is probably 52nd.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Linebacker.
three locks in Bon, Trotter, and Campbell.
Jihad, that is.
We should tell you that Chance Campbell returned to practice today
after having missed about a week.
There's also Smile Mondin and Deonti Lawson.
How many linebackers did you keep?
I kept five.
Me too.
Yeah.
I surprised myself, but I don't think Smile Mondin's going to get cut.
Same logic.
Yeah.
You know, draft pedigree.
He hasn't done anything to warrant getting cut.
Core special teams player.
Yeah, he's just not been quite as good as the other guys, the journeyman.
I have Deonté Lawson on my 50th.
Me too.
I like Deontay Lawson.
I like the physical profile.
I like the athleticism.
I think the Eagles are going to be intrigued by him.
And I think he's going to look good in the preseason.
And because of that, I just don't want, I don't think that they're going to want to expose him to waivers.
Yeah.
Right now I've got him on.
I'm expecting some good play in the preseason.
We'll see if he delivers that.
Chance Campbell already was on the practice squad.
last year, I think they will think that they can get him through.
Yep, I agree. Especially since he missed some time.
Okay. Even though Vic told us to keep him on the list.
Overtime!
Thing!
All right, so for me, I have eight spots left in the secondary.
I've got.
You have nine?
I think I have ten.
Ten?
Yeah.
Wow.
Okay, I'm curious to see how this plays out.
And it's interesting because there's a lot of,
flexibility here where you know Cooper de jean helps you stay covered at safety
Michael Carter helps you stay covered at both which is why I felt comfortable only
taking eight and you have 10 I know at least one of our differences but I'm
curious about the other so when you I mentioned Cooper de Jean Rick Wollen
Drew McCuba those guys are all locks yep I've got MacMac Williams pretty safely on
right now I do too I've got Marcus Heppson Michael Carter pretty safe
on.
Same.
I've got one more guy.
I'm curious who you're three are.
All right.
So,
you don't have Jonathan Jones on.
I do not have Jonathan Jones on right now.
You think that he's a practice squad
stash player?
Well, he's injured right now.
Okay.
I mean, I don't know the timeline there.
So I kept them on for mine.
You don't have Keely Ringo on.
I do not have Keely Ringo on.
And I could be wrong about this.
And this is one of the ones I feel the worst about.
but I don't think he's getting in on defense.
I think he's very far away from
from Vic trusting him to play on defense
as much as much as he's rotated in the last couple days.
He's a great gunner,
but he's got one year left on his rookie deal.
You know, can they get by with the other gunners?
And I was writing down today
who else was getting the gunner reps
during special team drills.
So you got Darius Coup.
who I think is probably going to be one of the starting gunners.
Yeah.
J.T. Gray, Andre Sam, Mack and McWilliams.
That's the guy who's gonna make the team.
Michael Carter is gonna make the team.
Moray Touré, Jacorian Bennett, Ambry Thomas, and the Gush.
Now the Gush is not built the same way.
He's a little bit short-armed for a gunner.
Yeah.
But those are the guys who are getting those reps.
There's a few guys on there who are gonna make the team.
And then there are some guys, you know, J.T. Gray could be promoted
from the practice squad probably.
they really like Keely as a gunner
so it's possible that he is worth
that roster spot to them
I may, I will probably change my mind
about this moving forward,
but right now I did not have him on.
I just, I think he has enough special teams value
and he's got the draft pedigree.
So I had him on.
Then who's your last one?
Is it the Dingleberg special?
Nah, I'm sorry, Dinkleberg.
I have Maximus Pully.
Really?
I'm sneaking him on there.
I think he's gonna look good
in the preseason.
I think,
obviously he has rotated more with the gush in recent practices,
but I think that they just,
they've rotated a lot.
I think the fact that Maximus Pully got the early burn with that group,
I'm going to take that as a sign that they're,
they're a little bit more bullish on him.
I just,
when I'm looking at safety,
really, Drew McCuba and Marcus Epps are the two.
And then it's like,
okay,
they'll probably keep at least three,
who's the third.
And then it's just about picking the special teams
and the developmental player.
And I don't know,
I've liked what I've seen from Maximus Pully.
So, you know, same thing with Deonti Lawson.
I'm kind of projecting the upside for the preseason
and kind of having some momentum by the time that we get there.
So, yeah, I snack maximum as pull on my 53.
I gave it to the gush.
Really?
Yes.
Okay.
I mean, gush, gush, gush, go.
A whole mess in the secondary.
Let's see how it plays out.
So that's interesting.
You have Michael Carter with the safety.
I put him in with the corners.
Well, yeah, but you've got the flexibility.
for both.
He allows you to carry one fewer guy necessarily.
So there you go.
Should we go through our fools?
Yeah, why don't we do it?
Our fullies?
I'll go mine first.
Four quarterbacks, including Cole Payton.
Three running backs.
Five wide receivers.
No Elijah Moore.
Wow, look at that.
Oh, man.
Four tight ends, including Grand Concoteira.
Ten offensive linemen.
Cameron Williams, the interesting inclusion there.
Five linebackers, four corners, four safeties.
I think I probably need one more guy in the secondary looking at it,
but maybe you get through with the practice squad.
Five edges, six defensive tackles, and three special teams.
All right.
Now let's look through the reigning champion
of the 53-man roster projections.
You can't do that, even though it's overtime.
You and these lewd gestures,
I have three quarterbacks.
I've got three running backs and three tight ends.
So I'm light in those areas.
Only five receivers as well.
But then we go heavy on the offensive line.
At linebacker, I'm sneaking Deontay Lawson onto the 53.
I think he's going to be a preseason darling at corner.
I go with seven guys.
Now Michael Carter, you can kind of count him, you know, half with the corners,
half with the safeties.
Then I've got Maximus Pully sneaking on to the 53-man roster as well.
at edge rusher
I've got the official
edge rusher prospect
of the PHAY Eagles podcast
Joshua Weiru
on the 53 man roster
defensive tackle
I'm trying to glom onto Weiru
I love the guy
I had Ty Robinson
just just making it
onto my 53 and then the three specialists
maybe we'll get creative with the
specialist in the future but for the first
draft I feel good about this group
great
this was fun
instructive.
I mean, one of us is going to be right.
Between the two of us,
there's a good chance
that we will keep the crown in house.
You just can't give me any credit.
You just can't do it.
I think you're a great Eagles insider, baby.
I appreciate that.
I try, you know, try to bring you guys the insight.
What about 53-man roster prognosticator?
I was going to say, could you write more, but...
All right, let's get out of here.
All right.
Uh, no show tomorrow because of the game on Saturday,
but we will have a little Vod for you.
A little preview of the players that we're looking forward to seeing in the game
on Saturday.
And then E.J. is going to be there in, in, in, in, in, in, in,
Baltimore.
Ballmore.
And we'll have it covered with the post game show right afterwards.
Fran and I and E.J. whenever he's ready.
Is that a shot?
No.
You're going to go, you're pounding the pavement in the locker room.
I'm going to be getting the answer.
First full locker room.
You got a game plan?
I do, but I'm not going to share it on the show.
Oh, I can't be doing that.
I'm going to chase these stories.
You just said, I'm going to make sure I got some written content on the site.
I'll poochel.com becoming diehard.
All right, that's all we got.
Thank you, Julia.
Thank you for all the super chats.
Let us know in the comments.
Grace has Maximus fully UDFA mugged the gush.
That's because it's a.
callback to when I said that.
You said UDFA mugged?
Yeah.
I don't have a good memory.
I appreciate it.
Shout out Grace.
Eat more almond.
He was mugged again the other day.
I forget what it was for.
Anyway, let us know in the comments who you mugged recently.
And we'll see you on the post game show on Saturday night for all of us here.
We thank you for watching and listening.
We'll talk to you later.
Get your Ospreys tickets.
And as always, we love you.
