Starting point is 00:00:00 All right. We often talk about how loaded this Eagles roster is. Well, Zach, let's go through a little exercise. Let's put together an all-star team of the other three teams in the NFC East and stack that roster up against the Eagles and see which one we think is better. I like this game. Okay. Quarterback. Jaden Daniels or Jalen Hertz? Jalen Hertz. He won a Super Bowl. I think I agree with you. But for argument's sake, I'm going to go Jaden's here just to see how it balances out. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:00:29 If I'm starting a franchise, I'll take Jalen, but I'm going to give this one to Jane Daniels just to see how it plays out. Okay. Okay. Running back. Now, this is tough. Sequin Barclay or Brian Robinson? You know what? I'm a bit of a homer here.
Starting point is 00:00:45 I guess I'm going Sequin Barclay. I'm going to give this one to Brian Robinson too. All right. Okay. So we got Seekwon there. That's one on the Eagles favor. Now, for wide receivers, let's just go the best against the best, the second best against the second best, the second best,
Starting point is 00:00:57 the third best against the third best. So C.D. Lamb or A.J. Brown. AJ Brown. I mean, I love Cidie Lamb. He's no A.J. Brown. I'm giving it to A.J. Brown. Now, second best. I think Commander's fans will say Terry McLaurin's the second best.
Starting point is 00:01:09 He's not. Malik Neighbors is the second best wide receiver in this division. Malik Neighbors or Devante Smith. I'm going to Devante Smith here. I mean, like, I could buy into the upside of Malik Neighbors. I'm going to give this one to Devonte as well. Terry McLaren or Johan Doughton. Terry McLaren.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Okay. Three to two, eagle. so far. Tight end. Dallas Goddard or Jake Ferguson? Dallas Goddard. I agree with you. Left tackle.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Andrew Thomas, very good young player for Jordan Milata. I'm leaning toward Jordan Milata here. I think this one, you could go Andrew Thomas. You could. I think my lot is,
Starting point is 00:01:45 you know, there's no pelts on the wall for Andrew Thomas. Sure. He's really only had two years of this level production. I'm going Milita here. He'll be wrong.
Starting point is 00:01:56 That one's a push, probably, but it's close. I'm going to give us one to Andrew Thomas just for for arguments. Okay. Okay. Left guard. Tyler Smith, one of the better left guards in the league. Or Landon Dickerson one of the better left guards in the league.
Starting point is 00:02:11 Lana Dickerson was Pro Bowl, second team all pro, right? So, Lana Dickerson. I think this one, Tyler Smith might be better. Okay. But, but you know what, with this one, we will go push. Okay. We're going to go push on that one. Cam Juergens or
Starting point is 00:02:26 this is a nightmare for the rest of the division. We're going Cooper Bibi here over John Michael Schmitz. I sound like a homer. This one's no. I'm going with Cam Juergens. I'm going Cam Jurgens as well. Right guard. Sam Cosmy or Tyler Steen. Yeah, Sam Cosmy. Okay, this one we will get we will give it to them. Just sign that big contract. The Eagles will get one back here at right tackle. Lane Johnson or I mean, we're going just on spec with Josh Connerley Jr. as a first round pick. Good player out Oregon, but give me Lane Johnson. So on offense, it goes six, four eagles with one push.
Starting point is 00:03:04 And I would probably push that to eight. And you would have gone to even eight to two. Eight to two. Yeah. Okay. So we're being generous. Defense is a little different. Flip it over to the defensive side of the ball.
Starting point is 00:03:13 I want to do the same thing where best against best, second best against second best. So Edge, Micah Parsons or Nolan Smith. Micah Parsons. Brian Burns or Abdul Carter, if you want to be spicy, or Jailix Hunt? Brian Burns. Okay. Dexter Lawrence or Jalen Carter?
Starting point is 00:03:35 Big Dex, sexy, sexy, Dexter Lawrence. Really? I would go Jalen Carter here. Would you? Yeah, I'm going Jailen Carter. You talk about pelts on the wall. I think Dexter Lawrence has earned it so far. I'm taking Jalen Carter. Okay. Different types of players. Duran Payne or Morrow. Morrow Ojoimo.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Duran Payne. Okay. Linebacker. I guess Frankie Louvo or Zach Bonn? Zach Vaughn. I guess Bobby O'Carike, Bobby Okariki,
Starting point is 00:04:03 or Jeremiah Trudeau, Jr., or you want to go Jehad Campbell? You probably put Jehad Campbell, but I got to go Bobby O. I mean... You got to go, Bobby O? I mean, I think I would almost take just the chance of Jehahekeme,
Starting point is 00:04:15 but you're probably right. For this exercise, we should give it to the other linebacker. Okay. Corners. Let's say Duran Bland or Quinyon-Mitchell. I'm leaning corks. toward Quignan here. I think so too.
Starting point is 00:04:30 Blaine has the interceptions. Yeah. On his, on his resume, but I think Quinyon's consistent coverage last year gives him the edge. Marshawn Latimore or Kili Ringo? Marshawn Latimore, we talk about pelts on the wall. Okay. And then we'll go, we'll go San Ristill. Yeah. As the third corner for Cooper DeGine. I once pounded the table from Santer still, but Cooper de Gene was better.
Starting point is 00:04:52 They were both working last year. Cooper was better. Cooper DeGine. Safety. Javan Holland or Reed Blankenship? Javon Holland. I think the contract bared that out. Should we go Malik Hooker as the last spot or Kwan Martin, who you want to go with? You more of a hooker guy or a Martin guy?
Starting point is 00:05:09 You're a bigger hooker man than I am. I don't know about that. I'm a happily married man. So let's go Kwan Martin. I like Kwan Martin coming out of Illinois. Okay. Not as much as you like the hooker. I really like Martin Hooker.
Starting point is 00:05:23 I like Malik Hooker. Drew Mukuba. I need to go with Kwan Martin. Okay. defensive side of the ball, even though the Eagles are the best defense in football last year, you're going seven to four for the other side. So we've got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Eleven to ten, to one.
Starting point is 00:05:49 Wow. That's why that Land of Dickerson, I think the Dickerson tie. Yeah, but I gave Jalen Carter over Dexter Lawrence. You were going to go Dexter Lawrence. Yeah. Oh, the tie. You think if it goes Land and Dixon. Dickerson. And then it's 11-11-11. All right, let's do it. Landon Dickerson over Tyler Smith. It's an 11-11 tie. But then I would also, so yeah, so it's 11-11 because I would put J-1-Hars over Jane Daniels, but then I would put Dexter Lawrence over Jalen Carter.
Starting point is 00:06:14 There was one other one, though, I think. I gave it to Andrew Thomas over here in my lot. Yeah, that's probably. You would, you would have it 12 to 10 Eagles. Yes, I would. Hmm. Do you think that's a fair explanation of how good the Eagles roster is? Now, obviously, if you actually put these teams together, the depth is what would really make the difference. But I think you could make a case that, yeah, you would rather have the Eagles starting 22
Starting point is 00:06:38 than the rest of the divisions. I agree. Yeah. I agree. I spoke at a sports broadcasting camp this week. Wow. And then afterwards, the students would come up with their phones and they would do like a hot take podcast with me.
Starting point is 00:06:53 And this guy put his phone off. Really? Yeah. And he's like, you're top four in the NFC, the east this year. go. And then so I was like, I was like fourth place giants. Third place commanders. And they were like, wow. And I was like second place, Cowboys, first place Eagles. Yeah, I think the Eagles repeat.
Starting point is 00:07:13 I think so too. Did you, now did you react to that? Did you give it the same like like high intensity? You got to, you know, you're trying to be a zoomer. Yes. Someone asked me top five quarterbacks. They asked me top five receivers. This one person actually said, who's the amazing, who's, Who's the most famous person in your phone? Ooh, classic video question. I bet the most famous person in your phone? I'm going to guess who's most famous?
Starting point is 00:07:47 Jason Kelsey. Well, I said to the person, I said, look, I pick a letter. And then we'll go through that letter. And then so he went with C. Wow. He won't see. And so we were debating, I was debating me between Corey Clement and Chris Collinsworth at that point.
Starting point is 00:08:08 I mean, Chris Collinsworth is definitely more famous. And then they're like, can you call them? I'm like, no. No. You wonder what's a funny one? Who's the first person in your phone? Probably the same one as you.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Is Emmanuelacho. He's the second one in my phone. Oh, no, okay. You know who's the first of my phone? Who? Ernie a coursey. Okay, so the first of my phone is Emmanuelacho.
Starting point is 00:08:31 The second one is a Hall of Famer. Really? Rest in peace. Her batterly. Okay. Now, rest in peace, at what point do you take him out of the phone? Oh, I don't take them out of the phone. I think that's, yeah, that's, there's, they're hard deceased people in my phone book.
Starting point is 00:08:56 So, yeah, so, I don't know, I, I never delete numbers, ever. Hopefully someone has Herrbaudly's phone and starts texting you and pretending to be her from me on the grave. Yeah, maybe so. I don't know why I confess to that just now, but the Herbatterly thing, not the deceased person. All right, fantastic stuff. The Eagles up against the rest of the NFC East, of course, check us out every weekday at 2 o'clock on P.HLY on the PHLY Eagles podcast.
