PHLY Philadelphia Eagles Podcast - Is Jeffrey Lurie’s grand plan for the Eagles to replace the LINC with a brand new dome?
Episode Date: July 25, 2025Jeffrey Lurie has spoken before about his hope for Philadelphia to land a Super Bowl in the future, which in all likelihood would require a domed stadium. This week, the team sent out a survey to seas...on ticket holders about the future of the LINC which hinted at the possibility. With the team not practicing fully, we take a step back to think about the possibility before taking stock of who is most likely to win each position battle. Kelee Ringo or Adoree’ Jackson? Tyler Steen or the field? Jihaad Campbell or Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in Week 1? Join Zach Berman, Fran Duffy and Bo Wulf for a fun Friday episode. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Discussion (0)
and welcome to the PHY Eagles podcast on a Friday afternoon presented by DoDAD Dental Group
and the good folks at True Mark Financial Credit Union, Bo Wolf, Fran Duffy, Zach Berman coming at you
on a walkthrough day for the Eagles so we don't have practice to talk to you about.
So we'll take a little bit of a step back.
We're going to go position by position, the position battles at each position and put our
turkeys on the line, tell you where we think those things are going.
And also we'll revisit this as camp goes on.
So it will be a little reflection of the way that camp is going.
But we're going to start today, Zach, if you are able to tell us, what's the news?
What's the deal with a potential new stadium here?
What's going on?
Yeah, so this one that was actually fan sourced, right?
Fans season ticket holders received a message in there or an email in their inbox.
and the team is
the stadium altogether.
So that is the news there.
And the question is what exactly this will look like.
Sack, I'm worried this is going to ruin your weekend.
Oh, no.
This is a disaster for him.
He is just going to be cold.
This is brutal.
for a guy.
Meanwhile, I got to tell you,
the Ospreys, now listen,
we are,
Ospreys are tracking
to probably sell out
early mid-next week.
So there are some tickets still available.
I want to let the people know.
The deal for the Ospreys is
it's going to be live for the in-people
participants next,
or two Wednesdays from now,
Wednesday night at the Hard Rock.
Of course, we are taken back to Hard Rock.
But it's not going to be.
be streamed live. You're not going to be able to see it until Friday. So the Ospreas are the
night before the preseason opener and it will then be available as a YouTube video and a podcast
on Friday. So if you want to be there when the action happens and know the news ahead of time,
you got to buy tickets. You got to be there in person to see it. So just a little extra push
to make that happen. Zach, how you do?
Well, I hope my Wi-Fi holds here because I'm excited for the show.
Am I freezing?
Yeah, but we have you for the moment.
Okay.
Okay.
So the Eagles send out an email the season ticket holders with a survey about the future of the stadium.
And in that email, the team said, and I'm quote,
quoting here to help guide this vision, we're exploring potential updates to Lincoln
Finance possibility of a brand new stadium in the region. So that is news. And this is something
we had talked about going back to the Super Bowl media night when Jeffrey Lurie was asked
about the future of the stadium.
Definitely doing some exploratory work here.
uh yes
Fran you know people in the building
obviously yeah
you know you were there as recently as a year ago
um
and we have heard Jeffrey Larry
talking about this Jeffrey Larry as as
Zach references at the owners meetings
talked about he would you know he would love to bring a Super Bowl
to Philadelphia you'd love to bring
a final four all of this stuff
he wants you know wants to bring these things and those things
aren't going to happen unless it is a new stadium
and presumably I don't
my sense
I don't want to speak for the fans you let us know
the chat because I am very curious about this.
I don't think that for Eagles fans, the idea of bringing extra events to Philadelphia moves
the needle at all.
I think for Eagles fans trading the snowball game for, you know, the potential to have a
final four game that you're probably not going to be able to buy tickets to anyway is not
the kind of deal that you would make.
But I could be wrong.
But I do think from talking to people in the building that this is not a, this is not a, this
not a done deal. This is them doing their due diligence. There is nothing set in stone.
And they just, they, they, they do one feedback. What about, what about you, Fran? What is your
interpretation? Yeah. And again, I want to start it off by saying, like, this is based off my sense,
not necessarily. Like, I haven't had conversations anybody about this recently and was not a part of
any official conversations when I was with the team either. So like, you know, this is all
me kind of reading teams, just my understanding of what the wants would be the need. Because
at some point look i mean the link opened in 2003 like you know so we're it's it's an older stadium at
this point and while it's still a good like we're you know by the time we get to the end of the
contract uh we're talking it'll it'll be 30 years old by that but just about 30 years old so
i think when you're looking at it um yes i do think that ownership definitely would love to be
able to have super bowls and olympics and you know world cups and all the big events bring it
bring everything to the city of Philadelphia.
I think that's part of the legacy that Jeffrey Lurie would want to be able to leave,
not just with the franchise.
Obviously, you know, established a great legacy there,
but with the city of Philadelphia and being able to build those kind of moments out,
I also think that being able to say,
this is what this can do for the community of Philadelphia can help in terms of
trying to get that stadium built and trying to get that into a situation where,
you know,
I don't think that they want to move to, you know,
Bess Chester, right?
I think they would love to be able to build the stadium, you know, in the vicinity.
I think that it's going to be like what the Sixers were.
And Zach, correct me if I'm wrong, my sense is not that they would want to move this into, you know, into Center City, move this elsewhere.
I think they would love to be able to stay in that general area.
Yeah, and you hit it on the head there, but they kind of build on that.
I hate to say this isn't about the fans.
Like, obviously a big part of this is the fan experience.
and, you know, stadiums have improved since 2003.
We've talked about this on the show.
But also, when you look at, like, the Eagles from a business perspective, okay, the NFL is a revenue sharing sport, okay?
And so how else do you generate revenue if you're a team?
Like, because the media money is all split up, right?
The, you know, even like the, so what you can do, and this is kind of what's in vogue in the NFL is you build the real.
estate around the stadium, right? And so you own, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's,
you're around. And what you hear teams talk about often is what the Atlanta Braves have done. I haven't been there,
personally, but I've been reading these think pieces, if you will, about, you know, and you're thinking about,
the next 50 years of the franchise, right?
Where's the additional revenue coming from?
An additional revenue could potentially come from how you build out the property around your stadium.
So using your stadium a year round, so other events and obviously a dome of some capacity,
that's not to be a fixed dome, but having the ability to have a roof on the stadium just opens up those
possibilities.
But in addition, in addition, if you can somehow have land in South Philly or
that area there.
And this is what the Phillies have talked about.
This is what the Sixers and Flyers have talked about,
where you can have whether it's shops, restaurants, retail,
whatever it may be, you know,
that there's,
there are potential revenue sources for the team that go beyond
the traditional revenue sources now.
So like that,
that doesn't necessarily like satiate the fans' desires
who only care about what the record is.
But there are a lot of people in that building
who think about, all right, how can the value of the franchise go from X to Y?
How can the revenue of the franchise go from X to Y?
And you reach a point where it's like you can only raise prices so much.
You can only raise concessions so much.
What are the additional revenue sources that can come in?
You are not wrong, Zach.
You are right that that is what they're thinking about.
It is just depressing because it's not how can you generate revenue.
It's how can you generate more revenue, extra revenue.
The Eagles are doing fine.
They're making plenty of money.
Yes.
You know what I mean?
And so just like everything else, it's okay, how can we make the richest people richer
at the expense of the conveniences and like quality of life for everybody else?
And this is one way that they can do it.
It sucks.
Yeah, I mean.
Now, listen, it might, you know, maybe they'll build a great new stadium and the prices
won't raise a ton and it'll be fine.
But like, you know.
unlikely yeah i mean i know another part of it in terms of like the survey that went out like had to do
with what ticket prices would look like for season ticket members the the sales and i remember
when it was built like that was a that was a personal seat licenses that was a huge topic of
discussion a huge topic of debate and rightfully like the amount of money we're talking about for
what those kinds of things would look like to secure the right to buy season tickets that's
whether the the PSLs are that's that's going that's going to be a hot but
an issue once again whenever this happens no matter what the where what or where the stadium looks
like oh no dome like that's going to be another conversation again uh and that's another one
those those numbers that are being thrown around like that's that's not like an easy uh you know
that's not an easy lot to be able to shell out for most people i also think like you know there
yeah i remember talking to a go ahead uh yeah i i recall talking to um a very very high level
one point.
This was when I was at the inquire
and I was doing a story
on like the ideal size of a stadium, right?
And the person's answer was
one seat fewer than the demand for tickets, right?
The point being that as long as there's
like someone willing to pay for those seats,
then they're going to try to have,
you know, the seats either be more expensive.
So this is, yeah, I know this isn't what fans want to hear.
but the the franchises are in the business of making more money,
not in like keeping their revenue flat.
I do think that there is like,
you know,
there is some plausible deniability here from the egos.
This is,
this is not like,
you know,
an announcement of plans.
This is feedback.
I'm sure it's also being run in conjunction with a third party
the way that these things work.
So,
you know,
it is,
for now,
just due diligence.
We don't need to go,
you know,
storming the gates just yet.
but it is a thing that really matters to Eagles fans.
Rightfully so.
Well, so let me ask you guys.
Is it the new stadium in general?
Is it having a dome?
What is it about like the chance for a new store,
the possibility of a rebuild or a renovation that angers fans?
This means because I do think that.
It was aware they can still have outdoor games.
This is tough, Zach.
We're not really hearing most of you.
Okay.
There goes.
Yeah.
So I think he was just, he was trying to ask there, and it was like, what is the,
and I don't know, he was like, what is the big thing?
What is the big hangout for fans?
Honestly, it's like all of it, right?
I have, outside of the idea of like an improved in stadium experience, like, yeah,
there are some amenities that could be cool.
that other stadiums have worked in.
I don't know that that outweighs all of the negatives that perceive negatives for fans.
And I'm not saying perceived as in like they don't matter.
I'm saying perceived like on the side of the way they view it, the consumer.
Like, yeah, I agree to your point.
Most Eagles fans don't care about having a Super Bowl in Philadelphia.
Most Eagles fans care about the World Cup coming to Philadelphia, you know,
and some of all the other factors that would come into play there.
So I would say to Zach, like almost all is what is the hang up for Eagles.
fans.
Listen, there are ways in which it's not a bad thing for fans, right?
If it is a new stadium that's got all kinds of cool amenities and it's better sightlines
and it's also a better home field experience, like a whole field advantage for the Eagles,
like it's somehow louder or whatever it is.
Like that's a thing that will matter to Eagles fans.
It is the expectation that with a new stadium comes the PSLs for season ticket holders that
are going to cost a lot of money.
that's an objection that I would imagine fans have.
And I do think that like the going to a dome is something that fans of the team object to.
But it doesn't it doesn't have to be bad for fans.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And that's, you know, look, I'm sure that they will try to do their best there.
But it's there, there are, there often is of negativity around.
Whenever that announcement comes, like not everybody's going to be happy.
I think that's just the reality.
And that's the case with most stadium, you know, new stadiums that are that come out across all sports.
Julia put up a poll in the comments to get the thoughts from the sickos about what you guys think about a potential new stadium.
So let us know what you think.
And we will take our first break here to give us a chance to reset.
Maybe we'll get Zach back.
And on the other side, we're going to talk about all of these position battles at each position.
Where do we see these things going?
Let's find out how far apart we are coming up next.

Zach, you're somewhere new.
Yes.
Yes.
Is this good?
Better so far.
Good, good, good.
Sounds good.
Thank you.
I missed the conversation because I was looking forward to that.
The one thing I will add not to be redundant.
And certainly I don't want to come across as, I think I saw in the chat, like a bootlicker or whatever the term may be.
I'm not saying like the franchise is right doing this.
I think what matters most is the fan experience.
I can say that as I alluded to earlier, the stadium experience has been enhanced in, you know, in some other places.
You guys were all in Minnesota for the Super Bowl, right?
That is, that's like a really impressive stadium experience that has a roof, but it seems like you're outside.
There are places that have retractable roofs.
The stadium architecture continues to progress.
And so I think that, like, I'm not naive.
A big part of this is revenue generation for the franchise.
But I think that the fan experience can be enhanced.
Now, the problem, of course, is that it's not in hands for a million fans or two million fans.
It's enhanced for, you know, 65,000 fans.
It's probably really only enhanced for, you know, 25,000 fans that might get like a premium experience, right?
But just as the spectrum, there was an upgrade from the spectrum to, you know, the first union center or the core state center when it opened.
And then, you know, I imagine the next arena will be better than this one.
There are benefits.
just at what cost.
And I certainly don't hope.
I certainly hope it's not at the cost of the taxpayers.
Zach, can I ask you a delicate question?
It depends.
Yes.
Yes.
Are you in a bathroom?
No, no, why?
Definitely not in a bathroom.
The new background of them and then like the, the, the sidings on the wall.
I thought maybe it was a bathroom.
No, it's not a bathroom.
It's a, it's, uh, it's, uh,
like a room with a crib in it, okay, for babies.
So it's like a very, and there's no, there's no like, real like, there's, there's no desk.
There's no, like, dedicate, you know, there's no like desk chair.
So it's a very makeshift situation, but it's closer, it's closer to the router.
So, but yeah, but there's, there's a crib here.
And fortunately, the baby that's in the crib is not down here right now.
So I'm able to use this.
But yeah.
If I need to change diapers, there's a setup right there for me.
Yeah.
All right.
Good to know.
Yeah.
That's a fine, don't know question and answer.
Okay.
Let's get to it.
Let's get to football.
That's what the people are here for.
Let's talk some ball.
So we're going to do turkeys to these position battles.
We're going to start.
We've got one in each position.
So we're starting with quarterback three.
Kyle McCord, Doreon, Thompson,
put your turkeys on.
And all of this is week.
one. So it's not how you think it's going to play out over the course of the season,
who's going to get the most snaps. This is all, how will the summer play out? How will these guys
have their jobs week one? And we will also continue to do this as camp goes on to sort of
to track it. I'll go first here. I have already declared this. I'm going a hundred Kyle McCord,
zero Dorian Thompson Robinson. Fred? I went 90-10 McCorderson. I'm having the door open.
You know, I don't know that I've been like completely moved by McCord so far through, you know, two practices and like 10 throws.
So obviously it's very, very early.
But yeah, I'm going to go 90-10 in favor of McCord.
Yeah, I am the same as Fran.
I went 90-10.
I agree with what Bo said, but I'm leaving open the possibility that there's an injury.
You know, there could be an injury in a preseason game.
And McCord starts the season on IR.
Okay.
I don't know if there's a ton of.
of more meat left on this particular bone.
We've talked about it.
We haven't seen too much.
I just,
during Thompson,
he's not,
this is also not the best format for him.
He could play better in the preseason
then he looks like in practice.
Okay,
I'm interested in what you guys think about this one.
I will start with you first on this one, Zach.
And this is running back three.
And it's just A.J. Dillon against the field.
So there's not a ton of competition here,
but you got,
you got two undrafted rookies and also Keelan Robinson.
AJ Dylan, we have seen actually got a couple of little reps with the ones.
And when he's in the pile, or he's between the tackles, it can be difficult to tell whether it's him or Saquan Barclay.
Now, part of that is because the eight and the six looks so similar on the jersey.
But part of it is because they're both got those rocked up quads.
So what do you expect with AJ Dylan here, Zach?
Yeah, I went 7525 in favor of AJ Dylan.
and that I just think AJ Dylan is the superior player to the field here.
The one issue I had here, the cat, I shouldn't say issue, the caveat is this is a position
where they could potentially add somebody, right?
Third running back's not out of the question to add.
So I was thinking of going 60, 40 to kind of hedge my bet, but based on the current roster
composition, I went 7525.
How about you, Fran?
I went 5545 in favor of Dylan.
Just because obviously it's still, it's still, it's still, our.
early. He had looked fine in terms of like athletically out there running around. Like that looks
good. I do for a guy that's coming off the injury that he's coming off of, I would like to see him take some
contact and like how does that go? You know, I think that that's the one thing that's kind of like sticking in the back of my mind.
I agree with that point they certainly could add at the position as well. And then you've got some young talent there that's still in the room.
I think when you look at Keelan Robinson, you know that he's going to offer special teams value or he should be able to offer some
special teams value.
So I feel good that he'd be able to be active.
So by the time we get to week one, even if he's on the roster, if Keelan Robinson
plays special teams, maybe Dylan's in inactive.
Like that that would be something to watch.
And there was also the possibility that, you know, AJ Dylan is a vested veteran, right?
So this could be one where he 33, they bring him back in, you know, week four, whatever,
he's on the practice squad to start the season, but maybe elevated for game days.
He's not, he's not guaranteed of anything.
But I think it is, I have it at 6535.
So I split the difference between the two of you guys.
I think it is more likely than not that he will be the guy.
But I also think I think they would prefer if one of the undrafted rookies looks awesome
and is better than AJ Dillon.
Like that would be better for them.
So I think the door is a jar there, but we will see.
Okay, I think this is maybe the most difficult one.
We're going to go to tight end.
And you've got five competitors.
You've got E.J. Jenkins.
You've got Kylan Granson.
You've got Nick Mew.
You got Zach's boy, Harrison Bryant, and you got Cameron Lattu.
We got five competitors.
Franon is your turn to go first.
How have you apportioned these very difficult?
Yeah, I was, I basically went down the middle here.
I went 30 for Bryant.
I went to Branson.
I went 30 for E.J.
I went eight for Nick Mews, and I left the door like squeaked open for Cameron
lot to with two to turkey. Okay. To me, I think this is a three, three menace. I think when you look at
Bryant, Granson, and E.J. Jenkins, and we'll see how the summer and preseason kind of shakes out.
I think with all three, you know, and maybe we have to wait until August 19th to make this call,
you know, at the end of the day. But I think when you look at Bryant, I think that he's probably
the best blocker three. Jenkins is certainly the most tenured and should be most familiar with what
Petulo is trying to do. He's got the most chemistry at the existing quarter.
And then I think Branson, maybe the most past game upside in terms of like what, you know, the way that he can be moved around the formation.
So all three have some value.
But how does it apply?
Go ahead, Zach.
Yeah.
So I, I'm going with E.J. Jenkins 15.
Kylan Granson 30, Harrison Bryant 40, Nick Mews five, Kamatu, 10.
So give me a lot too, a lot too.
Wow.
He had a little more for the draft pedigree, right?
You know, probably had to.
Yeah.
Look, third rounder, you got to take that over Nick Muce.
Nick Mews got a Super Bowl ring.
But I am leaning more toward Harrison Bryant.
Okay.
I have just barely changed it up a little bit here.
I have Harrison Bryant at 28.
I have E.J. Jenkins at 26.
I have Kylin Granson at 23.
I have Nick Muse at 17 and Cameron Latteau at six.
We didn't do the field here, and I think this is one where the fields could also win out.
I like E.J. Jenkins, you know, I do. He was the Bow Wolf v. Frush last year,
but I don't think that they would have signed all of these guys if they loved DJ Jenkins.
This is not the format for us to really evaluate Harrison Bryant just yet, although I know you have that date marked on your calendar, Zach.
And Kylan Granson, just like snapshot first couple days.
I have not been impressed.
As Fran said, on paper, he has the most upside.
Nick Mewis had a good spring.
Actually, he had a great year, too, actually, because, you know, as Danes has pointed out,
joined the team of the playoffs, got to get that Super Bowl ring.
What a life for him.
Yeah, it's like the opposite of Devin White, right?
Devin White had to go through the worst times of the time, training camp, Brazil trip.
Nick, you know, Nick Mews got all the fun.
But when you said the field, are you referring to the chance that they could upgrade at tight end three, that like, or, you know, that this could be someone from outside the building coming in?
Yes.
Meaning, yeah, meaning that somebody who gets cut from another team.
Or maybe they just bring back Jack Stoll, which is really the Eagles thing, weight of doing things.
But yeah, I think that is very much a possibility.
Yeah.
And, you know, when you look at how he trades from past few years, the Albert O trade did occur on cut down.
So they have sought tight end three help in the past.
Man, I was going through the Osprey's nominations today.
And I had just, I had totally forgotten that they put Alberto on IR at the start of last year and wasted a roster spot on it.
And I just got angry all over again.
What a way.
Yeah.
It was so dumb.
I was watching our, I was looking through our show on the roster cutdowns.
And it was just, I was, I was kind of comparing last year's numbers of this year's numbers.
So I was going through like last summer's numbers.
And, and I saw like the headline was like, you know, the Eagles like like, like, you know, crazy decisions or like odd decisions on on cut down day.
Yeah, Albert O was, was one of them.
It's bizarre.
And then they cut up.
Yeah.
What was the point of that?
Yeah.
Although if Howie were watching, he would probably say, Bo.
All right.
We did win the Super Bowl, right?
So.
Listen, you got to be able to critique even the decisions when you win.
I bet I would hope that Howie regrets that.
Yeah.
I would agree.
Let's go to a wide receiver.
Let's go to wide receiver four here.
We've got three options.
We've got Terrace Marshall, who has popped early and really based on two plays,
but one in particular when he beat Keely Ringo down the right side on the first day of practice.
Johnny Wilson, who's the incumbent here, or the field.
This could be Anaya Smith.
This could be Avery Williams.
This could be somebody from elsewhere.
How do you have this one?
Actually, I guess it's my turn to go first.
Yep.
I've got Johnny Wilson at 60,
Terrace Marshall at 35, and the field of 15.
I have Johnny Wilson at 40,
Terrace Marshall at 30, the field at 30.
So, yeah, now we're defining wide receiver four by the fourth most snaps.
In week one, yes.
Okay, yeah.
Yeah, I think Johnny Wilson being the incumbent.
Which really might end up being two snaps.
Sure, exactly, exactly.
Yeah, Johnny Wilson's the, being the incumbent helps.
You know, we all remember Alan walking on that video last year talking about him being unique, right?
And he is unique in that regard.
but Terrace Marshall is the
he's someone who you heard
now, AJ Brown was asked the question
it wasn't volunteered,
but Terrace Marshall just have draft pedigree.
That said, you know,
he has bounced around.
Eagles could have added him last year.
They did not.
I think Danny Gray is the player in the field
who I would watch the most.
But as we discussed throughout the summer,
Anaya Smith is,
there's a lot riding on Anaya Smith's summer.
My Terrace Marshall numbers should be 25,
not 35,
as somebody in the chat points out night,
had an extra 10 points there.
How about you, a friend?
For me, I went Johnny Wilson 50,
Terrace Marshall 30, and in the field 20.
Ania Smith and Avery Williams,
because again, kind of going back to the running back conversation,
you know, there's a chance that Avery Williams,
if he's going to be active to play special teams,
you know, you go into a game with only four receivers active,
something along those lines,
that Avery Williams would be wide receiver four in that situation.
So, yeah, I do think that it's probably Johnny Wilson's job to lose just because of what he does as a blocker,
especially knowing that the way that this team wants to be able to throw.
Terse Marshall, like, I don't know if he's offering special teams value.
I don't know that he's the blocker that Wilson is.
But if he has just a, you know, head and shoulders better summer than Wilson does, then maybe he sneaks on.
But, yeah, I think that he would need to be very clear that he would have to earn that job.
Can I give you one snapshot takeaway from the first two days of?
practice.
Please.
I have not been particularly impressed with the way that
every Williams moves.
I mean, I was expecting this guy to be like a
dynamic athlete, you know.
It looks fine.
I would agree with that.
Nick Siriani would disagree with you.
That was before Nick ever saw him practice.
That's true.
That's true.
He hasn't brought up since.
That's a good point, though.
That's a good point.
Yeah, Nick's like, hey, you sold me a bill of goods here.
That's right.
I said defense.
I thought I was getting Devin Hester.
I didn't realize I was getting Avery Williams.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So,
Julia has the results from the poll.
And I think I think we can all appreciate the subtext here.
No Dome 68 and Dome 31.
So two-thirds saying no Dome.
I'm actually surprised Dome is even that high.
There's no intimate, Tom.
No intimate, don't.
I bet there's college basketball fans in there who want a Final Four in Philly.
Or people are answering your question that has nothing to do with the stadium.
All right, let's go to Right Guard.
HP comes out.
Now, that's just calling it like I see it.
Right guard, we all know.
Tyler Steen has gotten all the reps so far
It's only been two days
The options here Tyler Steen Kenyon Green
Who hasn't practiced yet
Matt Pryor who has been the second team
Red Guard and the field
And I guess the field here
I mean I don't know
Trevor Kegan
Brett Toh
Drew Kendall sliding over
Kendall Lamb going inside
Deryn Kinnard
These are unlikely
For the field
It is your turn to go for a sack
75 for Steen 15 for greening 5 for prior 5 for the field okay for him so we were so close Zach I went 75 steen I went 10 for 15 rather for Kenyon green I went 10 for prior and zero for the field I think it's one of those three guys I think it's almost certainly steen at this point just you know going off vibes and then yeah Kenyon green at 15 I went 85 for steen
10 for prior, only five for Kenyon Green, and zero for the field.
Here's my, here's my take.
I think it is more likely that Kenyon Green is not on the Eagles than it is that he's the starting right guard.
I was literally just about to ask that.
So great minds, or I shouldn't say great minds think like a minds think alike here.
Just minds.
Just mine.
Just pedestrian minds.
I didn't want to tell myself as a great mind.
I consider you a great mind, though.
But, but yeah, I happen to have that.
that same feeling is that like the longer this Kenyon Green injury lingers.
And then also you you heard C.J. Gardner Johnson say, well, it was to Ryan Clark, I believe
that the Eagles told them they were going to trade them or cut them. Right. So it was not as if like
the Eagles were searching for like, you know, we need this compensation or else you're coming back.
It's not like the Carson Wentzich. Like they, it really seemed like they were drawing a line in the
sand with C.J. Garner Johnson. So Kenyon Green, it's almost like found money if you look at it
from that perspective. I thought that was, I had the same reaction to that, Zach. It does
recolor that a little bit. And it, it better explains why it is that, you know, he was buried as the
third team left guard. And, you know, he hasn't practiced yet so far. So we'll see, we'll see where he is
when he gets fully healthy. But yeah, I'm, I'm skeptical that he's, you know, going to rocket up
the depth chart there. All right. Last one on offense. And then we'll go.
to break before going over to the defensive side of the ball swing tackle kendall lamb the veteran
darren canard the holdover who has never in his entire NFL career not won the super bowl
in the field Fran your turn to go first I thought this one was the the most difficult
it's interesting one yeah I went 35 lamb 35 Darren canard and 30 for the field interesting who
Who is the field in your mind?
Tyler Steen, Matt Pryor.
Like, you know, I think there are there are guys on the same door.
It's like, okay, like they could potentially be the swing tackle.
So, and then obviously they could be that, you know,
somebody that's not here in the building.
My guess is it would be more someone else is on the cross.
Right.
Yeah, exactly.
You know, I think that when you look at that group, that was a tough one, you know,
given the options.
So I went, and this, to me, this one is an important one where
Week 1 is the decider, which is why I went, Dary and Carnard 45, Kendall Lamb 40, and 15 for the field,
because I think the whole reason for keeping Dary and Kinnard around last season was with the expectation that he would eventually take this job,
that he could earn and be the swing tackle.
Stout is invested in him.
Stout decided to keep him around, so obviously he thinks enough about him.
Kendall Lamb is a very good baseline to have to hope for Karnar to clear.
And also, Lamb is a vested veteran, so he could not be on the 53 men roster week one and still be kept around or come back, something like that.
And the field, I think, for week one, is a little bit less likely just be, unless it is, unless it is someone like Matt Pryor or even Tyler Steen that you mentioned Fran.
Yeah, I think similarly to Bo here, I went 50 for Kinnard, 34 Lamb, 20 for the field.
And I was thinking the same logic as as Bo.
First off, cost-controlled contract, but also I think Kinnard was almost being, you know,
groomed to be the like Fred Johnson replacement, right?
That player that you have in the building and eventually takes over as the swing tackle.
So I put Kinnard here, but, you know, Kendall Lamb, the reason that they signed him was to have some veteran assurance there.
There you go.
All right.
A quick break, and then we'll come back on the defensive side of the ball where we have the two real marquee position battles of camp so far at cornerback and safety.
We'll tell you where our turkeys land after hearing from our sponsors.

That app slash legal slash podcast for full disclosures.
All right, back on the PHOI Eagles show presented by True Mark Financial Credit Union and Due Dead Dental. Fran, what are you laughing at?
The chat, just on fire with thinking that Zach was going to go with Tip Tap.
with the great idea for the tipping app.
Where are you going?
You're doing all the Valley parking, Zach.
Yeah, so there's a place where I go in the city.
Of course, this is when it gets back.
Broke.
Yeah, here, here, can you hear me okay?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So when I visit family in the city and there's not street parking,
I have to parking a lot.
That's, that's, that's ballet attended.
Okay.
And it's like it's the best lot, the park in there in terms of, you know, like what the rates are.
But as a former Valley Parker myself, I got to hook the guy up, right?
And I don't carry cash.
I carry my, you know, I carry a phone and my cards are in the phone, you know, my license, my credit card.
And so I know that the, that the Parker takes cash app, right?
So whenever, you know, I visit this, this family member in the city, I will,
I'll say like, hey, I don't have cash, but I have cash app.
And so the parking attendant is like top on the cash app on the cash app list.
All right, Zach.
So how often are you coming into the city into my neighborhood and not telling me about it?
No, it's not because your neighborhood actually has as good off street parking.
Like good.
Yeah.
So, oh, I'm sorry, not good off street parking.
Good street parking.
Like there's enough.
Yeah.
where this family member lives, there's fewer street parking options.
So much subterfuge as to so much secrecy about this family member, but I appreciate it.
I'm visiting my mother, okay? I visit my mother.
You're lumping her in with like your cousins.
She should hold a special place.
Yeah. When I visit my mom, you know,
My family member.
This time of year, I have more free time than during the football season, right?
So when I'm visiting my mom, I can park, you know, in, yeah, there's a lot where I park in, that's all.
Speaking about people in the city, there's lots of reports this week of Fran like all over the place.
You're at the concert last night.
I had boots on the ground reporting people texting me
that you were down on the field for the Nelly concert
after the Phillies game.
What a wild week.
Yeah, I mean, look, you know,
try and sneak in as much as we can before football season starts.
And I will say, okay, as far as the Nelly concert,
so it was a free Nellie concert for everyone that's in attendance
for the Phillies game on Tuesday night.
And it was, if you have a ticket, you get to sit,
and you watch the concert an extra $30 and you can go out in the field so i'm like oh that's that's a
great deal it's $30 i'm thinking like all right i'll probably play like four or five songs dude he was
out there for like over an hour it was great great like some of the best $30 i've ever spent played like
most of the hits it was uh were you were you by yourself or were you with meg no it was uh meg and one of
her friends so the three of us went it was a lot of fun so we did that tuesday and then uh we took
Francis to his first concert.
We kept up, we kept hyping it up as his
first concert at the man.
They had the event with the Eagles
and the Philly Orchestra last night,
which was very fun. And
Zach, can you name a Nelly song?
No. He's probably known he's from St. Louis.
I know he's from St. Louis. I was actually
at that game and we didn't stay for the
concert. And
Oh, we're here. Yeah.
And my son, my son asked me,
I read asked me like
he said why didn't we stay for the concert
and I said I said do you know Nellie Reed
and he said he would have like to stay for the concert
it was past his bedtime
but
we didn't get out of there too late
we did not get home until it was like
1230 1245 so it was
later night and then 76
on the way home was
a disaster
yeah 76 was a disaster
yeah 76 was was one lane on the way home
it was tough
I thought you'd go 95.
Me?
Yeah.
No, 76.
No?
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, always 76.
Okay.
All right, let's talk defense.
Defensive tackle.
Defensive tackle four is where we're going here.
So after Jalen Carter and Morrow Ojoimo and Jordan Davis, who's going to get the fourth most snaps week one, the options, the fourth round pick, Ty Robinson, Thomas Booker,
Gabe Hall and Byron Young.
I go first this time.
I'm going 55 on Ty Robinson, 36 on Thomas Booker,
five on Gabe Hall and four on Byron Young.
Zach, you're next.
I love the inexact 10 because of all minor increments of five and ten.
It's frozen in the bathroom again.
Sorry about this.
I'm not going to be doing.
Yeah, we know.
I mean, that sentence could finish with anything.
I have Ty Robinson 70, Thomas Booker 20, Gabe Hall 5, Byron Young 5.
Okay.
Fran, how about you?
I went Ty Robinson 40, Thomas Booker 40.
Ooh, even.
Yeah, even.
I think that's going to be fascinating to watch.
I do think that you can make a case either way there.
I went Gabe Hall for 18, and I went Byron Young, too.
I think that's the right difference between the two of them.
I think Gabe Hall is much more likely than Byron.
Yeah, I think so.
But I'm with you that it's closer between Robinson and Booker, especially week one.
You might be the kind of thing where Booker gets the first shot and they want Robinson to come along.
But, Zach, you are very ready for this to be Mr. Robinson.
Yeah, I think that's why Ty Robinson's here.
as a friend and I discussed last week that the reason you take a 24-year-old,
you know, six-year player in the fourth round is for him to be a day one contributor.
It's not for him to be a year three contributor.
Friend, the chat wants to know what your shirt says.
So it says I keep all my dad jokes in a database.
Database.
Was that a father's gift or did you actively purchase that shirt?
Sure as hell was.
That was going.
Oh, that was a super chat from Polar Jam.
We wanted to know that.
Thank you, Polar Jam.
Thank you, Pooh, Joe.
Now, that is money well spent.
Yes.
I mean, poo-poo on your $30 for Nellie.
That's good spending money.
All right, let's go to linebacker.
Jihad Campbell or Jeremiah Trouta Jr.
Who's going to be the starting linebacker opposite Zach Bond, week one,
Zach Berman?
It is your turn to go first.
I have 80 on Jihad Campbell,
20 on Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Wow.
Any explanation that you'd like to give?
Yeah. Sorry, I thought we were going through and then I'll give the explanation.
Yeah, I think that the fact that Jihad Campbell is already practicing, as we discussed on yesterday's
show, I imagine he'll be interspersed with the first team in, you know, the next week or two.
And I just think, I think he's here to play.
And I think the fact that he's healthy enough now, he'll,
be he'll be out there as a starter week one.
How about you, Fran?
I went 65 Campbell, 35 Trotter.
Interesting.
Yeah, I think that, as I said yesterday, and I stand by it,
I think we're going to start to see him mixed in with the ones as camp progresses.
I do want to like caution against getting a two head of myself, right?
I want to like make sure like, all right, like, yeah, this is a guy that is still relatively
new the position, like getting used to legal.
That is a position where like mental processing and keying.
diagnosed, like all of that is extremely important.
And, you know, I think that it stands to reason that, like, it might take him a little,
maybe it's not week one that he's the second linebacker.
Maybe it's week three.
Maybe it's week four where, you know, he becomes the starter.
So I do think that they would love to be able to get him in there.
And I do think, like, I think he's the favorite to be the starter now that what, you know,
after what we've seen for two days.
But I still think that there's a little bit of a decent chance that Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
could be that guy.
I think that's, I think that's very reasonable.
and very possible.
And yet I have gone even more
on the side of Jahad Campbell than Zach did.
I want 8416 just because I think this is like, you know, Vic
Dick helped with the pick.
He's going to want him on the field.
I think that makes sense.
But I also think you're right.
And as we said before, I also think there's a chance
that we're going to see both of them, week one,
in different packages.
But that's not really the way that Vic likes to do things, right?
I think he'd rather have his guy.
And so I'm leading towards Jihad Kempel.
Campbell.
Cornerback two, the race between Kili Ringo and Adoree Jackson.
Very interesting.
It's been just a dead even split so far.
Fran is your turn to go first.
How do you have this one?
It's not fun.
I went 50-50.
Did you straight?
I did.
Yeah.
I mean, I said it last week when we did the DB show.
It was myself and Rich, handsome Rich.
And I said, look, if we come out of the gate and it's a 50-50 split,
I will feel less confident that the job is going to go to Keeley Ringo.
And I still think that it's very possible that Keeley Ringo could be the starter.
But the fact that it wasn't him, like to me, like I would have expected that, hey, this is a guy that they spent significant draft capital on in his third year, second year in the scheme that he would almost be getting what Tyler Steen has gotten up to this point where it's like, all right, like he is getting maybe not all the reps, but even if it was a little bit less and he was getting like if it was like an 80-20 split.
But the fact that it is every other series, essentially like,
every other period. They're switching roles. To me, that that doesn't, it doesn't, it's not a positive
moment in Keylee's favor, in my opinion. I think that's right. I have it 54 for Ringo, 46 for Dori
Jackson. And even that, I feel like is, you know, maybe too much. I think, again, I think they
would like him to win the job. I think they want him to win the job. But you're right. The longer,
I mean, you know, it has only been two practices. We can take a step back.
Like, you know, at some point, somebody's going to start getting more reps.
But, yeah, through, through, it's, it's, it's dead even.
And the longer it's dead even, the more you, you think, okay, maybe they're going to,
they're going to side with the guy who is more of a known commodity in Adori Jackson.
Yeah, I, it's, I, to me, still so much camp left, obviously.
And there, it could be that like, you know, Keely just, the light comes on and we just start
to see that he is the, he takes over the reins.
But, yeah, I don't feel great about it at this point.
And Zach, in his absence, I believe he just texted.
He is going with Eli Ricks 100 and nobody else.
So very bold from Zach.
Something to keep in mind there from moving forward.
All right.
Last one.
Safety.
We've seen all kinds of action here.
Yeah.
Opposite, read Blank and Chip.
Drew McCuba, the second round pick, would seem to be the favorite.
And you've got Sidney Brown.
We've also got Andre Sam and Tristan McCollum,
who have been working in here.
I guess it's my turn to go first.
Yep.
I'm going Macuba 60, week one.
And I know that that's high.
Yeah.
But the Vic of it all is what makes me go that way.
And then I'm going 30 for Sidney Brown,
six for Andre Sam and four for Tristan McColl.
I also had Maccuba as the favorite.
Didn't quite go that far.
I went 40 Macuba, 30 for Sidney Brown, and then I split the other two guys right down the middle.
I went 15 for Tristan McCollum and 15 for Sam just because of how the even split has been.
I think that I wanted this to kind of mirror that.
But I do think that McCuba almost certainly is going to be the start.
I shouldn't say almost certainly.
I should say more that he is the most likely starter at this point.
I think you have done a better job in this exercise of reflecting what is actually the case right now.
How unlike, like, whereas I'm more, like, mind's more predictable.
I think how the summer's going to go.
Yeah, right.
I think yours is a better reflection of, like, where things stand at the moment.
But, yeah, I think that's right.
Okay.
I don't think we're going to see Zach again.
Doesn't sound like it, but we're missing a position.
We've still got to do the edge.
Oh, we missed edge.
I'm so sorry.
Come on.
I didn't write this one down.
Oh, all right.
So edge three.
Do you want to go through the options?
Yeah, give it to me.
All right.
So for third edge dresser, we have Aziz Ojali, Josh Ushay, Obaniya Okoronkwo, and the field.
Okay.
All right.
So while you write yours down, do you want me to reveal mine or do you want to, you want your?
Well, why don't I do it first so that I, it's proof that I'm not reacting to yours.
I'll tell you what.
Now, week one is so close that it's.
it's hard to do this, but I think I'm putting 30 on the field.
I have 30 on the field as well.
You put third on the field as well.
I'm going to put five on Okoronkwo.
Okay.
40 on Ojali, and that's 25 on Ushay.
That is the exact same one I had.
Really?
To the number.
That is exactly what I had.
So, no, I think that this one was a tough.
one to handicap. I think when you're looking at, you know,
Ojalah, I feel like it's the favorite, but
I don't know. I'm not like, you know what? I want you to hold that, Fran.
I want you to explain what that is in overtime.
Now, I'm a little, I'm a little bit proud of the moment we had yesterday on the
sideline, Fran. A little bit proud. I'm a little bit proud of this moment.
It was, it was a special teams drill. Yep. And it was just,
you know, guys running down on kickoff coverage.
You know, it's like four guys over here, four guys over there.
There's a ball out there.
It's a facsimile of a ball.
There's something else, and they've got to go touch it.
And you're just seeing these guys run down the field.
And I look over at you and you're, you just make a face.
Just like kind of like a, and you didn't say anything.
And I said, you're not feeling Luceo Jolari the way he's running, are you?
He's like, you're exactly right.
Yeah, because one of the things that I,
Look, during special teams drills, you know, look, we got a very big media core, right?
Special teams drills, a lot of people, it's like, that's chit-chat time.
That's like, oh, you know, special teams drills are two of the, there are two things that I can take away from special teams.
Number one, the fringe roster guys, like, who are the ones that are up at the front of the line, getting the most reps?
You get that.
Number two is the guys where you have, like, you want to try and get a gauge of their athleticism.
This is where they're running around.
Aziz O'Si-Ojalari has been in the league for a few years.
he was a technically proficient player at Georgia,
uses his hands well.
It's not necessarily like,
oh, it's all based off athleticism.
I will say, after watching him for two days,
like athletically,
the injuries have definitely taken their toll.
Like, at least that's what it seems,
watching him live for two days.
And to be fair, as we talked,
you really liked him coming out.
And when we had the France film sessions
on the free agents this offseason,
you felt similarly.
Like, he is not the same player that you evaluated at college.
No, I think that when you're looking at it,
from, again, purely athleticism, a little worrisome.
Now, that's not going to be prohibitive for him being the third defensive.
And they're a third outside linebacker.
Like, you know, it's perfectly fine that he could be that guy.
And that's why I do have him as the favorite in this exercise.
But yeah, it's the injuries from what I've seen so far, like, I'm like,
there's something missing there for sure.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
I mean, you follow the money.
It's the most likely result.
But it might not, it might not be that way.
all season long.
Right.
Okay.
Well, here's the deal.
Tomorrow the Eagles practice.
We do not have a show tomorrow,
but we are going to do a truncated recap of the show
that will be up on our YouTube page,
a little quick recap of everything you need to know.
Zach will also have you covered with his camp in 60 seconds videos
on the social media platform.
So we will have you covered for tomorrow regardless.
And on all p.hawyd.com,
where you can become a diehard for $36 a year
with the training camp.
Special.
Zach, you're back.
You look blurry.
Do you have any words?
I apologize.
I'm embarrassed by this today.
But it'll be better.
On the studio on Monday.
Yeah, the, I was going to say,
Kili Ringo is my, I have,
Keeley Ringo far and away, the top option at corner.
And then at safety, I'm giving Drew McCuba,
60 turkeys.
Whoa.
Far away.
Yeah, you had Eli Ricks with 100.
No, no, no, no.
No, I have,
I have Keely Ringo at 70.
Wow.
I think it's going to be
King Ringo's job.
Yeah, I think it's going to be
Keely Ringo's job.
What did you have on the edge, Zach?
Yeah, so at
the edge, because there's a lot of guys.
I have Aziz O'Jolari
at 60.
I have Josh Uche at 30, and then I have Ogbo at 5 in the field at 5.
Okay.
We were a little bit more inviting of the possibility of the field winning that one out.
The field being an outside acquisition or the field being someone else in the depth chart.
Okay, yeah.
I mean, I suppose the field could be Powell Riland, but I'm expecting that to be Aziz O'Jolari.
Zach, try not to beat yourself up too much over today's episode.
I know that what will be difficult for you.
The people are making the joke that perhaps you have gone back to Brazil.
Could you, just as a treat for everybody who stuck through this episode, could you pronounce the name of the drink that the people drink in Brazil for the sickos?
Caprina.
Caprina.
It's a good drink.
As a sweet tooth that I am, it's basically just sugar water.
That gives you a little bit of a buzz, right?
So it's a good drink.
I had a terrific, I had a terrific meal with Cabrinas with E.J.
And Jeff McLean and Olivia.
Yeah, it was, it was a Dave Murphy.
It was, it was a nice, I like Brazil, but I got to say the connection in Brazil is probably comparable to the connection where I am right now.
This is something we're going to work on.
Yeah.
Well, it's not, I can assure you.
You may have worth everybody as well.
My setup back home.
home it's hardwired right and so you don't have to worry about that unless I kick the wire
but I think my I'm at my mother's right now and I think she's using an antiquated router or something
I'm so glad that you you mentioned who she was and you didn't just say you were out of family members
yeah now all right well I guess that's going to do it for this episode of the p.ch.L. Eagles podcast
Again, Eagles return to practice tomorrow.
We'll have you covered on our social media channels and on the YouTube channel
and on all-PH-O-I.com.
And then we'll be back on Monday when we're hearing.
It could be pads on Monday.
So that'll be a big one.
Four practices next week to talk about lots of good stuff as training camp rolls on.
Thank you to Julia for sticking with us throughout this episode.
We will talk to you tomorrow, Saturday.
Tomorrow is Saturday.
We'll talk to you Monday, too.
That's all we got.
Thanks to do that dental and true mark financial.
And as always, we love you.
All silly like the mayor.
