Welcome to the PHLY.
Oh, wow, there was some panic hitting the streets in our Discord channel, Rich.
But welcome in to the PHLY Eagles show.
Jamie Lynch, Rich Hoffman in with you.
And this is not the only PHLY Eagles show happening today.
Les Zach and Bo.
Double-dipping.
Yeah, 8 o'clock tonight.
Playoff football is here.
They cannot be stopped.
Zach Berman is just like, give me all the work I can get.
So they'll be with you this evening.
So a little pH, L-Y Eagles after dark.
But Rich, it feels like a month since we've been together.
It kind of has been.
I went to the Bahamas, got sick, and then the holidays happened,
and it's good to be back here together.
At the most important time of the year,
playoff football is here.
I was on with Anthony and filled in for John Marks this morning,
and I am fired the hell up.
I think the Eagles are the best team in the NFL.
I'm ready for anybody.
Like, I respect the NFC.
It's loaded.
This is a tough year to get through it.
But I think the Eagles are prime for a Super Bowl run here.
I really like their chances to get there.
Yeah.
I mean, dude,
it's so different than this time last year.
I was dreading that Monday night playoff game against Tampa Bay.
Oh,
it was awful.
It was like a walking dead.
First off,
it was a Monday night game,
which I still can't believe they're doing that.
Yeah,
it's so stupid because it puts teams at a disadvantage the next week.
Like, why are,
I mean,
we all know why.
Anyway,
heading into this,
these plays,
I'm totally with you, right?
Like this is objectively a pretty tough draw.
The Packers are one of the better seven seeds that you will face.
I mean, they're much better than Denver on the other side of the bracket.
But I like the Eagles chances just because I like this Eagles team, right?
They have more talent.
You had Baldy on Cuzz's show saying,
Four and O.
Four and O, which Baldy, like, he appears on a lot of national broadcast.
So, you know, I don't think Baldy would be saying in Philadelphia that they're going to go four and O.
And then go into Denver and be like, I don't know, Bo Nix can be.
make a run here.
Yeah, exactly.
So I think there is a reason for, for some belief here.
Yeah, a lot of excitement.
Hello to everyone in the chat.
I see INS says Jamie is globally ranked in Magic the Gathering.
I don't really know what that means, but I'm going to chalk it up to a compliment,
INS.
But Andy Reid's mustache, K-red, everybody in here, all the sickos.
Welcome in.
It's an exciting week.
And Rich, speaking of Magic the Gathering, yeah.
I was out with the friend this weekend, and he said that he was.
plays in a fantasy football league.
And there's a guy that they make fun of
in the league consistently, who is a
big Magic the Gathering player. Now, I
have not been familiar with Magic
the Gathering since, like, recess in
you know, third,
fourth grade, those type of things. They said
that they mercilessly make fun of this guy. I don't know
if he's professional in Magic the Gathering,
but he's as close as you can be. Oh, really?
To that or whatever. He apparently has
just won their fantasy football game this year.
It's like the Mina Kimes
bit. She has a friend
who is gay who bases his draft every year on the handsomeness of the player
and really wanted Jimmy G this year, didn't end up.
And Mina Kimes just tweeted out like last week, like,
oh yeah, by the way, he won the league.
So I think that's going to be my new strategy next year,
is just draft fantasy players based on their handsomeness.
So same type of vibes.
Fantasy football is so stupid.
There's so much luck involved.
So much luck.
I hate fantasy football, but I love it.
The news of the day, Rich,
and Zach Berman is going to join us at 215 here today.
He's everywhere.
He is everywhere.
And then Vinnie Curry is going to join us at 240.
Really looking forward to talking to Vinny about a playoff week inside that locker room, preparing.
You know, the coaches are going to be sleeping in the office this week, all that good stuff.
But the news of the day is Jalen Hertz, return to practice.
Mike Garifalo on Monday, as Beau said on Sunday, hey, a national guy is probably going to leak, you know, a little bit of he's on track to play on Monday.
Sure enough, that happened.
and he does get cleared to play.
Zach was at the Nick Siriani press conference at noon today
where Nick said yes,
it's a in pads practice at Lincoln Financial Field.
Woo!
Push back to 330 today instead of the normal,
I believe, 220 time or 2 o'clock time.
I guess that's to kind of simulate as close to game time
at the link as you're going to get on Sunday at 3.30 start.
Maybe similar lighting, similar temperature type of thing.
I guess he's going for the most realistic feel he can to recreate Sunday.
Well, that's been something they've been doing all year, Jamie.
They've made it a point to have more padded practices, typically on Wednesday.
I don't know if Nick just said, you know, we got to change it up from last year when we went kind of all rest, all recuperation.
But throughout the year, I think there is a certain amount of padded practices that they are allowed in season.
The Eagles have been pretty close to the top of that.
Now, I don't exactly know what that means.
They're not, it's not exactly like the Junction Boys tackling each other on Wednesday,
but it does simulate more of a game-like atmosphere.
So that tracks with what has been going on.
And when it comes to Jalen, yeah, I mean, you know it's the playoffs when you just get the drip feed, right?
You get every little bit of news.
Oh, no.
Ian Book got released.
You know, Mike Garifolo mentions, okay, it seems like he could be coming back.
Nick Siriani keeps it pretty close to the vest.
That's how you know it's a big time game, man.
Yeah, it was very nice of the Eagles to send.
Ian book off a day early so we could get down to Miami to watch Notre Dame and Penn State in
tomorrow's Sugar Bowl. So that was very courteous of the Eagles. Yeah. So we can go watch his,
his former team, Notre Dame. But yes, Jalen Hertz is back. Now it has been, I believe, 17 days.
Do you think Green Bay should pick up book? Oh, the old playoff. Yeah. Let's pick his brain.
It's probably not a bad idea. You know what would be an awesome idea if the Eagles used him as
kind of a spy.
Like they,
they sent him over there
with bad intel, basically.
And they're paying him under the table.
Here's 750K to be a,
tell him we're going to throw the ball
the entire game.
We're going deep.
And then just pouncing on to start the game.
Yeah.
And it's,
look,
it's been 17 days since Shalyn Hertz has played football.
I asked Baldy this last week.
I was like,
because it did enter my mind.
And I wonder if it entered your mind.
The kind of rust factor.
Sure.
There's a reason September,
football in the beginning of the year is a little bit sloppy. The offense is usually behind the
defense. It's because NFL football is so damn good. There's a rhythm. There's a timing. There's a
cadence to quarterback play and wide receiver tight end connections and all of that that.
That I did worry for a quick second like, oh man, is it going to be a little rusty returning here
from, you know, the brain fog of a concussion? I asked Baldy that. I said, is that sports talk
kind of fodder or is that reality? And Baldy was like, no, I think there's a little bit of
reality to that, to the timing of things. So hopefully, you know, they knocked that rust off in
practice today. I love that Dallas Gottert played a little bit last week to kind of get that rust off
of them. Of course, you had the second best quarterback in the league throwing you. I mean,
as, as Beau said, you know, he's statistically proven to be one of the best quarterbacks
of all times. Lamar McKee. Yeah. But did that enter your mind at all? The rust factor of Jalen
not playing for almost three weeks? Sure, especially when you think back to two years
ago when he plays that week 18 game against the Giants.
Now, the big difference is they had a week off after that once they won that game,
right?
Because they did have the buy week.
But Jalen plays a pretty uninspiring game in week 18.
And then two weeks later against that same Giants team in the divisional round,
I didn't have a great game throwing.
That was a big like Kenny Gainwell running game type of night.
But early on, he was sharp in that game.
So I do think there is something to that.
It doesn't make me feel awesome that he has not thrown a ball in basically,
three weeks at this point.
But, you know, you could look at it at, um, you can look at it on the bright side too.
Like his body is probably pretty fresh, right?
Absolutely.
He has a tush push for three weeks, right?
You know, he could be shot out of a cannon.
Yeah.
That's kind of my hope.
It's certainly my hope for Sequin after resting him last week that he puts the, uh, you know,
all of the hand ringing about not going for the record to bed because he's just shot
out of the cannon to start the game.
It's like, oh, this is way better.
Yeah, Sequin seems maybe jailing a little bit of that.
Perfect in like every way, shape and full.
So hopefully he harnesses that.
I don't know if it's bitterness or just like disappointment, you know,
whatever you want to call it of not being able to go for it into,
all right, well, let's go get a Super Bowl.
And look, when you look at the Packers and the Eagles and you stack them up side by side,
I believe Zach Bow and Fran pointed this out yesterday,
they're very similar teams.
The Packers went out and got Josh Jacobs this year,
who had a spectacular year, almost 1,400 yards, 15 touchdown.
downs and the Eagles went out and got Seekwon Barkley and we all know what he did.
What's better than spectacular?
Because Seekwon Berkeley had a stupendous year.
Stupendous, I would say, is better than spectacular.
Okay.
It's tremendous better than spectacular.
Tremendous feels like a little dismissive at the same time as well.
Yeah.
It's like you weren't expecting that to happen.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Yeah, I don't know.
We'll chew on that.
Yeah.
We'll chew on that.
Get back down.
But both of these teams, Rich, I think are going to want to,
ground and pounded a little bit this weekend.
I like the Eagles chances there.
I think their offensive line better is better.
I think Sequin Barclay is better.
Maybe the only position you could argue
the Packers are better at is the quarterback position
and even that's a good debate.
So let's get into that because I think on the Sunday show,
you said that Jordan Love was a little overrated in your eyes.
I don't think we've seen the Jordan Love of last year's playoffs this year.
Now, Fran kind of shocked me.
He called Jordan Lov a top eight quarterback, I believe, yesterday on the PHLY Eagle Show.
That's very specific.
Yeah.
That pretty much has to mean he's eighth.
I would think that's exactly what that means.
Zach was more like with me where I think he's kind of maybe in that 10 to 12 range this year.
Because I think quarterback rankings, whatever you want to, you have to take a year by year because there's so much variance year to year.
Like you could make the case that Baker Mayfield is a top five.
or six quarterback this year.
It's been unbelievable.
Yeah.
I mean,
Joe Burrow isn't a playoff quarterback,
but maybe had the best quarterback
statistical season like ever.
So it's like it's a year to year thing.
He's a top two quarterback to me,
which means he's second.
And if you just were going off of this year,
you would take him ahead.
I assume Mahomes is your one.
No,
I just wanted to say top two to replace second.
I didn't actually put too much stock in that.
Yeah, but he's way up there.
Yeah,
I mean, Lamar Jackson's probably your MVP,
Josh Allen.
So whatever,
Jordan Love, excuse me, was phenomenal last year.
And Zach has brought this up.
What he did to the Cowboys and what he did to the 49ers was like,
oh man, this guy could really be a top five quarterback going forward.
What I've seen from him this year isn't like that.
When I looked at Jaden Daniels and Jordan Love and the possibility of facing each in the playoffs,
Jaden Daniels scares me more than Jordan Love does.
Is that fair?
Jaden Daniel scares me a little bit.
Well, considering what he just did to the Eagles, I think that's definitely fair.
Yeah, like Jordan Love, he was pretty sloppy in that Brazil game against an Eagles defense that had no idea what it was doing.
Like, it is funny thinking back to that game.
It was like...
The sod.
A lot of Avanti Maddox, too, which just does not exist anymore.
But, like, Jordan Love, when he is playing well, I think part of the reason he might get overrated if he does is that he makes it look pretty good.
Like you mentioned that Dallas game last year, there will.
was a, I think it was the throw to make it 21-0. Third down, huge blitz. He like throws off his back
foot, waits till the very last second gets crunched and like lofts a perfect ball to think it was
Don Tavian Wicks. But anyway, like when he makes that throw, that's like, it was like pretty sick stuff.
So by the way, the idea- He throws off his back foot a lot, by the way. Well, and- He's hard to bring
down. He's very hard to bring to the ground. And as Fran has pointed out, that's a difference between
him and Jalen Hurts.
Sure.
If you look at both the interception rate and also the sack numbers,
like Jalen is going to eat some of those plays.
And Love is going to try and fit it into a tight space.
And, you know, I think.
Which can go two ways.
One, it can be a spectacular backbreaking play for a defense where he converts on, say,
like a third and eight when you thought you had him wrapped up.
Or it could go the way where he throws off his back foot and the old Brett Farr of
gunslinger mentality and it leads to a turnover.
We'll see what happens.
I just think they were red hot at the end of last year.
It started with the...
And that's kind of where I'm at, too.
They had that Thanksgiving game against the Lions last year,
where they just...
I don't know, like, they started last year.
They weren't a very good team,
but they had developed, like, this chemistry
between love and these receivers where, like,
they're limping into the playoffs a little bit this year.
They got their butts kick for most of that Minnesota game.
I know it was a little bit closer at the end.
You know, Minnesota kind of let them get back into the game
in the fourth quarter.
but for a lot of that game they got pretty much embarrassed.
And then they lost to the Bears last week.
Yeah, that's bad.
I actually saw a real article published by a Green Bay Packer site this week that was like,
are the Packers better off with Malik Willis?
And I went, oh yeah, even if people are thinking it,
and now it's a ridiculous thing.
Malik Willis did play pretty well for them in limited time this year.
But like even if that's a thought,
that tells me that's a team limping into the playoffs.
We're going to continue talking about it with Zach Berman right after this.

All right, let's not waste any more time.
I'm a minute late and I'm already, you know, upset with myself for making them.
I don't want to bow wolf them.
You know, I don't want to make this man.
He's the hardest working man on the Eagles beat.
We spoke to him this morning.
We're going to talk to him now from the Novacare Center.
He's going to be on at 8 o'clock tonight.
He's going to be publishing kick-ass stories all week long on all-P-H-L-Y.com.
Let's welcome him in.
Zach, Zach, Zach.
Oh, what room do we have here today, Zach?
Well, first off, thank you for not about wolfing me.
That's like the nicest thing you can say.
Okay.
This is another room here in the media center at the Eagles practice facility.
The room that I typically use is being occupied by a national correspondent.
And so I had to find a different room.
But this one suffices.
It has the soundproofing behind me.
So maybe the rest of the room or the rest of the media center won't hear me do this.
Now, Zach, when you walked into the room, did you, were you on the lookout for any windows and natural light?
Is there a window in this room?
There is a window in this room.
Did you notice it?
Yes, because the window in this room, the shade, it doesn't have blackout shades, right?
I think there's so, you do see the natural light more.
And the lights were turned off, so I knew where the sun was coming in.
Yeah, well, you look spectacular.
All right, Zach, the news of the day, Jalen Hurried.
returns to practice today.
It is a full pads practice over at the link coming up a little over an hour from now.
What did you make of Nick Siriani in the press conference today?
Yeah, this is what I expected.
I expected Jaylon Hertz to practice.
It's a positive sign that he's out there.
I thought when the Eagles waved Ian book last night,
that was a strong indicator, a strong signal that they would be going in this direction,
that Jalen was on the.
cusp of returning. So look, I mean, I'm not a doctor. I understand there is a process here
for concussion recoveries. My best guess for how this goes is J Allen's limited today. He's listed
as a full participant tomorrow and he receives clearance on Friday. Now, of course, if he wakes up
tomorrow and there's complications or setback or the recovery, it's not what it is, that kind of resets
a timetable bit, but my guess is limited today,
full tomorrow, clear Friday.
How dare Sal pal kick Zach out of that room?
Our pal, my pal, your pal, Sal, pal.
Come on, Sal, Zach's got a room.
It's not good.
So Zach, that was the man.
That was the man.
I'm not, yeah.
He is a great dude.
I would never say a bad thing there.
So, Zach, the practice got moved today at the last minute to the link.
So can you kind of explain the thinking behind that move
and what Nick Siriani said about that?
Yeah, so it happened right before I joined Jamie on Anthony's show.
And I was wondering, actually, VG gave an interesting theory.
Maybe they were trying to kind of mimic the game-like conditions at that time.
Actually, the reason they're practicing at the stadium today is the ground is frozen at the practice facility.
So the practice facility doesn't have the heated turf.
The stadium does have the heated turf.
So the option then is go inside,
into their indoor facility or practice outside at the stadium.
Nick prefers to practice outside unless there's a torrential downpour,
unless there's snow, or unless the wind, it just hinders practice.
So that's why they're going across the street.
As far as why the schedule got pushed back,
I don't have a firm answer for that.
Speculating is I would say they're probably just maybe moving,
some of the stuff that would have been later in the day,
earlier in the day.
But, you know, because they're going over to the stadium,
they do take the buses over there.
So that's my guess.
But the reason for the venue change is because it's heated,
it's heated turf over at the facility.
Are we talking school buses or luxury buses?
It'd be pretty funny to throw on an old school school bus.
No, no, no.
This isn't, look, they're not at, you know,
southwestern.
high school up. Yeah, Southwestern Central
High School up in Jamestown, right?
This is, this is the NFL.
A matter of fact, it does seem a little much.
I hope I'm not speaking out of...
To get a luxury bus to drive you to that.
Two shocks. Get in the school bus. Let's get back
to your roots. I even think,
yeah, I even think they have like
police escorted buses too. Let's go.
Come on.
They can wait at red lights.
Yeah, no, these guys don't like waiting.
They have to go past two lights.
They should.
I would say, look, if I was, if I was running,
I would just tell them to get in the car, right?
You know, the way, like, if you're, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if,
if, if, if, if, if, if, if, they, you're, at a field 15 minutes away, you drive
over there, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're playing, you're playing baseball against Roman.
You go, you, you drive over to Roxborough, right?
Um, so, uh, yeah, they, they, they could get in their cars, but no, they are not doing that.
They are not doing that.
That's pretty funny.
So, Zach.
The Eagles just made a roster move.
They add another former first round pick in Lewis Seen from Georgia.
Another Bulldog added to the defensive staff.
Former safety.
He was a real playmaker for the Bulldogs back in college.
What do you make of this move?
What's the ZB breakdown here?
First off, credit to you, Jamie, for the pronunciation.
That's how you know you're a legit football fan.
You know college football when you say Lewis Seen instead of Lewis signed, right?
because some people see C-I-N-E and they won't say C-N-E.
So well done there.
I liked him a lot coming out of Georgia.
So did I.
So people might be something.
I mean,
Beau laughed when the move came across.
I got a text about it and I'm like,
ooh,
I like this.
Of course,
I have,
you know,
I like former first round picks,
but for full disclosure,
I did like him coming out of Georgia.
I thought he was a playmaking safety,
ran real well,
which I thought,
I thought he would be a good option for the Eagles early in the second round back in 2022.
Now, he was drafted 32nd overall by the Vikings.
He's been dealing with injury or he dealt with injury issues early in his career.
That's why he became available.
He kind of wasn't the player that they thought he was going to be.
I like it at this time for this reason.
Because at this, with the way the roster is constructed right now,
A, the Eagles are healthy.
okay and B on practice squad there's free elevating you get two elevations you don't have to worry about
limits this time of year during the season a player can only be elevated three times this year you can
elevate any during the postseason you can elevate anyone so chances are you don't need roster
spots 50 51 52 53 to play necessarily so this is a good opportunity to poach a different team's
practice squad put that guy on your 53
have him under contract going in the next season.
I think it's a sensible move.
It's a lottery ticket.
I understand that there's a reason why he was on a practice squad
and not on a roster.
You go in with eyes wide open.
But I always like taking second chances on players.
I think that if you hit on it,
then even if he's a valuable backup,
like there was talent there.
The other thing is, look, there's environmental factors
that might be in his favor here.
He's the sixth Georgia player
from that 2021 defense now on this Eagles team.
I say six starters.
Jalen Carter technically wasn't a starter on that 20201 defense.
We'll call him a starter.
So six starters when you look at
at Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis,
Keeley Ringo, Nikobe Dean, Nolan Smith,
and now Lewis Seen.
So, yeah, as Hallie Roseman once said,
it's one-stop shopping when you go down there.
So speaking of Jalen Carter,
He made the NFLPA all-pro team today, along with Sequin Barclay.
Now, I know there are a few of these all-pro teams.
Did you expect anybody else to make that team?
I'm thinking maybe Zach Bonn or Lane Johnson in particular?
Yeah, so those would be the two guys, I would say.
The right tackle on that team was Sewell, right, from the Lions, which makes sense.
The linebackers were Fred Werner and who was the other one?
I'd have to see.
But, I mean, Zach Bonn would be a candidate for the official all-pro team, if you will, is the AP team.
And I'm curious to see if he makes it there.
I can see him being on second team, if nothing else.
But, yeah, I think Lane would have a strong case for it.
I get why you go with Seoul.
It's kind of like when we're talking about Jordan Maillata for the Pro Bowl.
I think Jordan Milada is a Pro Bowl caliber player.
who you're taking off.
So, Tristan Worf,
Elaine Johnson,
it makes it tough.
So, yeah,
I mean,
you know,
Elaine Johnson and Seul
are probably the two best
right tackles in the league for a reason.
Roquan Smith was the other off-ball linebacker.
Yeah,
yeah.
So I can't necessarily fault that.
I mean,
Roquon's dealt with injuries this year.
But interestingly,
I spoke to Zach Bonn back during October
about the two play,
you know,
about the transition that he was making
from,
outside back or inside backer.
He said the two players he watched film on were Fred Warner and Roquan Smith.
And now he's a potential snub for an all-pro team.
What a year for that one, unbelievable.
Yeah.
Zach, any other take-ways to his agent?
Yeah.
Zach, any other takeaways from Nick Siriani?
Anything else jump out to you from today's press conference?
No, you know, Nick Siriani's unconcerned about Rust.
He says the way they practice makes him think that there's not a concern about Rust.
we'll see.
You missed nearly three games, you know, two and a half games.
It's something to monitor.
Nick says that practicing this week will help.
It's not like he's going out there without practice.
And then it was more color.
You know, Nick's message to the team is basically like what it took to get to 14 and
three is what it's going to take to keep winning here,
is that you don't get to the playoffs and then you're like all of a sudden, you know,
do this.
and you know i i suppose yeah i i i always think of like um you know in in basketball when that
when you're like uh you know drawing up and end of game play you should do something that you
always practice right like you should do something that you know and what what gets you there
is what should we is what should win it for you that's that's kind of next message to the team
is like almost double down on what's worked to this point um you you mentioned padded practices
I think that's relevant because the way the CBA is,
is in December you can't really have padded practices.
You can only have three padded practices during the final six weeks of the season.
The Eagles have kind of gone with more walkthroughs.
They have the pads back on today.
Nick feels that's important from a physicality perspective.
Do you be, take us behind the curtain a little bit.
You've covered many a playoff run.
What's it like in the locker room this week?
Is it, you know, besides Sal Powell kicking you out,
of your normal office for the games.
Is there more extra media attention?
Are the players a little more guarded?
It's it tougher to get stories?
Tell us, you know, what these next few days are usually like for you
compared to the regular season.
Yeah, I like this question.
First off, I'm going to defend Sal.
I take his space when, you know, when I come in here.
Look, yeah, PHY is growing.
We're getting bigger.
We're getting bigger.
You know, but we don't have a dedicated studio.
at the team facility like
Sal's employer does.
One of these days.
Yeah, I take Sal space more than
than South's thinking of my spaces.
She just want to be abundantly clear about that.
Okay.
So, yeah, when
early on in the postseason,
it's not that much of a difference.
Sometimes you get a few more national faces.
You know, I haven't really seen that today.
As they progress,
you start seeing more and more than the league comes in and there's more structured media stuff.
You get more press conferences.
The games, you have more people come to it.
As far as how I do it, I mean, I'll take you behind the curtain, like you said, I work ahead.
Like, you know, you know the playoffs are coming.
And so you start filling your notebooks with potential stories a month in advance.
Now, the challenge here is that you do it.
it for, you know, like the three weeks of the playoffs.
They could lose at any time.
So there's a chance that they lose and you're sitting on a story that you haven't
published yet.
It's kind of the gamble that you take.
But, you know, you think back to the Eagles last Super Bowl run.
I wanted to have like a big feature story each week.
And I kind of set that up.
And they were, you know, fortunately for my stories, they were able to win and get to the
Super Bowl.
So I was able to use all those stories I had in my back pocket.
There have been years when they've lost and you're kind of left sitting on something good.
So I have some good things cooking for all pHly.com.
I'll put it that way.
Love it.
Zach, I assume you've seen most of the coaching staff around the facility.
Which guy looks like he slept in his office the most?
I'm under the assumption that like Monday to the Wednesday,
most of those guys are not getting much sleep.
But my answer to that is usually Nick, because Nick, Nick,
Nick wears it more than most coaches too.
Nick, early in the week, I'm like, you know, I feel like Nick and I can be kindred spirits sometimes.
Right now, the thing is I'm not preparing for a football game, so I have no excuse, as Emily would tell you.
But yeah, Nick, I think wears it a little more early in the week.
And then, you know, I think by Friday night, he's able to get some sleep.
Now, I never want to tell you what to write on.
but I would be fascinated to know what Clint Hurt sleeps on if he stays over.
So you want to pull out sofas?
You want an air mattress?
Like how does that man get comfortable in an office?
Yeah, I will ask Clint that now.
I think that the like sleeping in the office,
I don't think that happens as much anymore.
I think they typically get home now.
But I don't think their or a ring will show that much sleep.
Any other takeaways?
And when Nick was talking about the Packers at all, it's funny, you know, your guys show yesterday,
you talked about Josh Jacobs and Saquan Barkley and how these teams are going to pound it out.
Did Nick have any insight into much Packers-related stuff today or that you've gathered being in the building all day?
Well, a lot of respect that he has for Matt Lafleur for the physicality of the team for, you know, the explosive playability.
That's obviously a big point of emphasis for them.
So that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's one thing.
Speaking to the coordinators yesterday, I mean, I mean, Vic has a lot of respect for Jordan
Love, you know, you can, you can see why he's a good player.
I think that, uh, the Christian Watson injury certainly affects Green Bay.
Um, but one thing that's, that stood out the people in the building is like their,
their wealth of receivers, you know, they had, or, you know, this isn't a team that has
the 90 catch guy.
This is a team that, that spreads the ball out, you know, they, four, five guys.
guys, they can throw it to.
The run game needs to be on Q.
But I would say outside of the Packers,
just some updates from today and from this week that I'll point out here is
Al Cowellby, Eagles assistant GM.
He actually completed his interview today with the New York Jets.
So that's something to monitor.
He's kind of been Howie, Roseman's right-hand man here,
someone that Howley trusts.
And the Jess has come up in the system.
The Eagles front office people, huh?
Yeah.
Yeah, now you wonder if after Joe Douglas will come back to failure or not.
Now, Alec has a different background than Joe does.
But, you know, I'm curious to see.
I think Alex's a sharp guy who will do, you know, who teams should be looking at.
And then Kellan Moore, the Saints put in a request for him and the Jags put in a request for him.
We talked about that on yesterday's show.
Kellyn Ken interview that week.
I know when I put that out there yesterday, I saw some responses like, you know,
they don't like when a guy has split attention.
the Jonathan Gannon thing came up in the Super Bowl.
Kellan Moore's not allowed to interview until next week now.
So if Eagles win this week, he can have a virtual interview going into the divisional round game.
But he can interview this, he can interview this week.
So I don't think that the idea of like split attention, I think that gets overstated.
But he, if you're worried about that, Kellan Moore is not interviewing this week with either team.
All right.
That's great stuff.
Zach, enjoy.
Now, where do you go at practice at the link?
Do you guys, are you up in the press box?
No, on the field.
On the field, okay.
Yeah, on the field.
So this is what I'm going to do.
I'm going to take video from the sideline.
I'll send it to Chris, our social media man,
and I'll get that up on the PHLY account.
So I'll take our listeners and people,
I think our viewers, I should say, in the stadium with me.
me. So they see everything that happens from the sideline at the link in Gioen Hertz's first
practice back. I would pay good money to watch a GoPro of Zach Berman, like just on your forehead.
What are your thoughts about doing a practice with a GoPro on your forehead?
Probably a little too low to the ground, you know, for the players. Yeah. So that's, yeah, that'll be my
answer. And Zach, it is official. You return the the phallic trophy. We cannot have that for
studio display and laughs that was supposed to go to Jordan.
I guess you kind of cowered out on that.
So I just want to be clear, okay,
because everything we do is live and recorded here.
And I value my professional reputation and, you know,
my future in this business.
I am not calling it.
That is not the description I am using for it.
That is the description that other people use for.
Yeah, I call it a trophy.
Yeah, I am calling it a trophy of a microphone.
Okay.
So, yeah.
So if any of our investors are watching, you know, I want them to know.
I am calling it a trophy of a microphone.
That's the trophy, the microphone trophy was returned.
Okay.
That's a shame.
Now, the mini plaque was given to Jordan Mila.
Actually, the Eagles posted a video, and you can see Jordan Mila gripping the mini plaque.
If you want to know what that looks like in Jordan's hands.
And the framed certificate was presented.
that Jordan Myelada.
Now did it make the locker?
So I'm going to the locker this afternoon.
I will see and I will report back to you on that.
Can't wait.
I can't wait to hear.
But my guess is the plaque is in his locker.
Wow.
That's good stuff, Z-B.
You're the best.
Make sure you're following Zach at practice today.
All-P-H-L-Y.com.
We love you, buddy.
We'll talk to you soon.
Sandy, you guys.
Talk soon.
All right.
There he is. He is just the best.
Content machine that, Zach Berman.
Good thing he was gripping the
mini plaque.
Instead of the...
I mean, if there was ever a guy to get
the Fallac trophy,
I mean, Jordan Maillata would have had a blast
with that. He seems like the best dude.
He's an Australian. The Australians always
like to take the piss out of you. Yeah. I live there for six
months. I would have stayed for two years if I had the chance.
The talent trophy. Yeah.
But Zach's the best.
You know, I'm sure Zach's eyeballs will be magnets on Jalen Hertz today, as will every beat out there just to see how he looks, how the timing, and all that stuff is.
Now, we are going to have Vinnie Curry joining us shortly. Let's just take a quick break before we get to Vinny.
And let me tell you about rocket money. Now, look, this time of the year, you're recovering from the holidays, you're trying to build back those financial savings.
and you got to be smart and make sure you're not wasting money anywhere.
Rocket money users can find any subscriptions that you forgot about.
I could have used this a couple months ago because I think my daughters grabbed the remote
control and subscribed to like six different things on Amazon.
I didn't even know about.
Luckily, I caught it, but Rocket Money can do that for you.
You don't even know how many things you sign up for over the years.
Things you were supposed to cancel, you forgot about, you don't even know.
So Rocket Money will save you cash.
Most Americans think they spend about $62 per month on subscriptions.
Well, the real number is actually closer to $300.
That's a huge difference in a lot of savings over the course of a year.
And managing finances can be tough.
You know, you have so many automatic subscriptions and this and that and do with different dates.
It's easy to lose track of this stuff.
So you can see all your subscriptions in one place and know exactly where your money
is going. Rocket money is that help you need in your financial world. For any, you don't need,
Rocket Money can even help cancel them for you in just a few taps. You can get alerts if bills
increase in price, which is another sneaky thing that happens all the time now. And they have
goal features you can set up. Rocket Money will even negotiate lower bills for you,
sometimes by up to 20%. They automatically scan your bills to find opportunities to save. It's like,
having a head coach like Nick Siriani in your bank account helping you out.
Rocket Money has over 5 million users and has saved a total of $500 million in canceled
subscriptions, saving members up to $740 a year with all the app's great features.
So stop wasting money on things you don't need.

we're about to be joined by
Super Bowl champion Vinnie Curry
Andrew we're good
Vinnie is there let's welcome them
in Vinnie Curry joins the show
Vinnie what up
What's up fellas what's going on
How y'all doing? Good man how are you
Just pick the little guy up from school
Nice
Dude I love picking the kids up from school
When they see you and they run to you with that smile
It's the best
Vinnie is in the car line
What's the deal here? Are you like
waiting like eight deep in the line or you just in a parking lot somewhere?
You know what? I'm always, I'm always the third car for some reason. I'll be trying to be
the first car. I guess I got to stop making a pit stop, you know, trying to bring,
trying to go get them a snack or something. So, so I'm getting ready to park here in this parking
lot. Yeah, what's going on? You guys are you guys to pump for this game? Because I know I am.
Vinny, I'm like jumping out of my skin. I'm so excited for playoff football, man.
What is this like for you? It's kind of, uh, you know, the playoffs are here.
it's cold outside.
Like is this,
is this the one that you're missing the most,
like getting ready for this game this Sunday?
You know what?
It's one of those,
I would say I will miss this game the most
because I think it's going to happen.
You know what I mean?
And I have faith in the guys.
So this is getting ready to start to run.
And from the beginning of the season,
this is the moment we all been waiting for.
So what's this week like for you, Vinny?
playoff week, is it, is it extra film work? Is it extra rehab of the body? Take us through what
getting prepared for a playoff game is like and how it's different from the regular season.
You know what? You really got to get ready to like cut yourself off and isolate yourself from the
outside world because at the end of the day, it's, you know, win or go home. You know, so rather
is, you know, mentally getting your mind right, physically getting your body right, you know,
and watch it a little bit of extra failure.
You got to get ready.
If you thought you was going to 110% before, well, we need 210%, you know, this week.
Vinnie, you mentioned Jalen Carter.
He got the week off last week, as did a few other defensive linemen.
I guess, you know, as somebody who has been in that same spot where you have a certain seed
wrapped up, you have a certain spot, you're not really playing for anything.
How beneficial can that kind of surprise late by week be for a defensive lineman?
Well, for him, for him, for him per se, I think it's going to be great.
It was great for him to really get his body, body back intact.
And also, you know, for other guys to step up, you know, in that rotation,
Eric, because at the end of the day, we're going to need everybody.
Vinny, who does Noah have winning this weekend?
What do you have winning this weekend?
The Eagles or the Papers.
Eagles.
That's right.
His boy is back, you know.
Jalen Hirsch is back.
He's back?
You know, so, you know, so he's so excited about that.
I didn't know, yeah, right, there you go.
He's back, no?
No answer.
No answer.
He's son.
So, any, when a quarterback returns,
hasn't thrown the ball in almost three.
three weeks. Do you think there's a little bit of rush you got to knock off there? Is that something
that we should all not worry about because Jalen's a pro. His receivers are great. Dallas got her it's
back. Or do you buy a little bit of like you need to knock the rust off and get the timing back on
on Q? Um, you know, it's crazy to what I'm going to say. So even if, even if these guys
try to stack the box, you got six and eleven on the outside.
So it's like, you know what I mean?
Like, man, this game got me so faried up.
So you don't know what's going to be rusty, what's not.
And I'm pretty sure the way them coaches been coached in all season,
they're going to have them ready.
They have a great game plan at that.
Vinnie, when you see Jordan Love,
he is one of the toughest guys in the NFL to sack.
Sometimes he does make throws in the tight windows to avoid that pressure.
What have you seen from him in terms of like what the Eagles rush plan should be,
how they should go about trying to stop this passing attack.
We got to get him off his timing, man.
You know, we got to get him off his time in and we try to get him out of the rhythm early.
You know, it goes back when you ask about Jalen Carter and the week off and everything.
Hopefully, you know, these guys are really diving in to him and watch every time he got sacked this season, right?
That's one session.
Every time he was pressured this season, that's another session, you know,
and what's making him really uncomfortable and how to get him off the spot early.
So Vinnie, I want to, for the purposes of this exercise, make you the defensive coordinator for the Packers.
How are you going to attack this team? Obviously, I think Sequin Barkley is the head of the snake in, you know, stifling this offense.
If you're the D.C. for the Packers, are you forcing Jalen to beat you a little bit and selling out and stopping Sequin?
Are you, how are you handling approaching the Eagles this Sunday?
I think I will blitz early.
I think I will blitz early, you know, just to see what that first 15 script looks like.
And, you know, how the gel of the game goes and how to, you know, once you get into the flow of everything,
then, like, I would try to stack the box.
And I would tell my D.Bs could kind of pay off a little bit.
Because if you just, you know what I mean?
It's like damn if you do, damn if you don't against the Eagles, especially when they're hot.
Yeah, absolutely.
You know, they play a lot of zone coverage.
I think, you know, the Eagles finished last in the NFL at throwing over the middle of the field.
Is that something you think is, I don't want to say imperative, but kind of crucial this weekend is attacking that soft underbelly of a zone coverage?
Do you think this is particularly a big game for Goddard or AJ or Devonte?
How do you view that in the passing game?
So me personally, my opinion is the tweak to that is, you know,
Dallas and missed a lot of time this season, you know,
and he's really, you know, the guy that does the dirty work, you know,
and them underneath your house and things like that.
Yeah, it should be a good one.
Vinnie will let you get back to Dad Duty,
but before we let you go, we got to get your official prediction.
You'll be in here on Sunday with us doing the postgame show.
Can't wait to watch it with you.
what's your official prediction for Sunday?
Official prediction for Sunday 2417.
All right.
I had a seven point win too, so we're pretty much locked there.
And why don't you give us a Sequin stat line for the game as well?
Sequin, Sequin, 22 carries for 136 yards.
I'll take it.
All right, that's great stuff, Vinnie.
We appreciate your time and go rejoice with Noah that Jalen Hertz is back at practice today.
I see you guys this weekend.
All right.
Love it.
See, Vinny.
That was awesome.
Noah in the background, like,
Jaylen's back?
Seriously.
Imagine going to school and being like,
yeah,
that's my dad,
Super Bowl champion,
Vinnie Curry.
And Noah won like the high,
the equivalent of the Heisman award
for his,
you know,
national football league this year.
The kid's a baller.
So really cool stuff there.
It did get mentioned in those car lines after school.
Grandparents were leftless.
Yeah.
And my school there were like three sets of grandparents that were always first.
I used to take the bus home, but you would see that the car line would be lined up.
And there would be three cars that were there at like, I don't know, school got out at 245, something like that.
I think the first ones used to show up by like 130, 145.
Oh, yeah.
They had nowhere else to be.
I have a grandmom.
Oh, not my grandmom, but the girl's grandmom does pick up on this day because I can't make it the school pickup.
And yeah, grandparents are undefeated at a car line.
All right, Rich. Vinny has a seven point win. I kind of see it similarly. Anthony this morning and
working with him respects the hell out of the Packers. He's a hard fought kind of game going down to the
wire there. VG, who was with us, kind of sees like a blowout, which he said a two touchdown victory
to Kevin Nagandi today. What's your ultimate gut telling you about this game? Is it going to be a hard
fought, ground and pound, defensive battle.
Is this going to be an air raid,
kind of Jordan Love and Hertz, airing it out?
How do you kind of see this playing out in your mind's eye a little bit?
I think right in that 20 range, you know,
not a huge scoring game, but also two teams that can move the ball on each other.
I think it's a tough game, man.
Like I think as far as a 2-7 draw, I am not with VG on that where, yeah, sure,
I'll pick the Eagles.
They have been the better team so far this year.
and I do think the Packers, some of those, you know, those DVOA numbers,
I think they are overrating a little bit, the schedule that they played.
Like they, obviously they play in the NFC North.
That's a very tough division.
Brutal division this year, yeah.
They're also 0 and 5 against all of the good teams, right?
Yeah.
And I know those games weren't blowout.
So I think you do have to favor the Eagles.
But yeah, like Jordan Love is scary.
That's a guy we have seen get hot in the playoffs.
I think, yeah, right around 2417, 2420, 27, something like that.
Yeah, I kind of see them covering.
but it being a hard-fought game.
Now, you mentioned the Packers like DV-O-A.
You know, some of this was from Shield.
Some of this was from yesterday's show.
The Packers are, by the analytic standard,
the second best defense that the Eagles are going to face this.
Sure.
Which is nothing to take lightly.
But the other time that the Eagles played a good defense,
they lit them up in the first time.
Yeah, that's true.
The Packers were ninth against the past this year,
seventh against the run.
The one thing they are,
which I think is an advantage for the Eagles,
because it's what Jalen Hertz does really well.
They're a very turnover reliant defense.
They rush for, they drop guys into zone coverage.
McKinney, man.
Yeah, they keep everything in front of them.
Xavier McKinney likes to jump routes
and pray on the interception.
Jalen Hertz does a really good job protecting the football.
And, you know, I think this is more of an advantage for the Eagles
in that Jalen Hertz isn't going to, you know,
shoot himself in the foot here on this one
and cause any dumb turnovers.
Now, a lot of Eagles fans are on the course of a regular season go like, oh, he doesn't force it enough.
I think that's a really good thing in this matchup.
Yeah, no Jaira Alexander for the Packers as well.
And his stupid big hat.
His stupid big hat.
Oh, did he wear that in the locker room?
Yeah.
Those big hats, I remember watching the Shark Tank episode when they got brought into the tank.
And I was like, these are the stupidest things I've ever seen.
And yet, you see them a decent amount.
I was at Reading Terminal last week.
No way. Somebody was wearing one out in the wild. I don't think I've ever seen one outside of a locker room.
Now, it might just be, there might just be a bias in that whenever you see it, it's so ridiculous.
It sticks out and it seems like five people are wearing them. Yeah.
But yeah, I mean, that company, none of the sharks actually bought into the company.
But there, I think the advertisement went pretty well because the exposure, yeah.
Yeah, Jaylor Alexander was wearing it in the locker room. I think it was the Detroit game where he was like, oh, man, if I played, we would have won this game and this and that.
just like I couldn't take him seriously in that hat.
It was pretty funny.
Anyway, you would hope that with him out of the game,
which is huge.
Jay DeVante, Jalen can take care of the ball,
but have such easy throwing lanes that,
you know, some of those slants,
some of those deep balls will be there for him.
Yeah, Anthony brought up.
I kind of feel like in my gut,
I'm actually sending the people over at Bet, 365.
That's the hope.
Yeah, the odds boosts for this weekend.
When I was thinking about the game,
I do kind of feel like this.
could be a little bit of a Dallas Goddard game.
And I don't mean 115 yards and two touchdowns,
but I kind of feel like he's going to play a critical role on Sunday.
I really love the fact that he went out there last week
to kind of get reacclimated to the NFL a little bit.
After missing a couple weeks,
what do you think on the thoughts of Dallas Goddard having a big one on Sunday?
Because weird year for him, again, misses a lot of time,
looks spectacular one game,
is just a blocking force in others and doesn't put up the stat line.
what do you see from Dallas on Sunday?
Well, I mean, he better get going
because Tyler Warren, TE1 is coming here next year.
I actually don't know if the Eagles will be able to pick him.
No, I think he's played himself ahead of Loveland in the tight end ranks.
I think he'll be the first one off the board probably in the mid-teens.
I feel like with how well Bowers played this year too,
like the tight ends might make a little bit of a resurgence as a position that can
make an impact right away.
So, yeah, I thought he looked good, right?
Yeah, I thought he looked really good.
He played a little bit and he was open.
and Tanner was getting him the ball.
He looked physical, running over guys.
And it's like, you know, Dallas at this point,
obviously he has dealt with a lot of injuries.
He's missed a lot of time, but can you give us four weeks in a row here?
Yeah.
I think he can.
I want to spend one of the first three-round picks on a tight end next year.
Nothing against Dallas got it.
He's just hurt too often.
Him and Avanti Maddox as roommates,
I don't know what was going on in that house,
but the injury bug got him.
I mean, they got drafted the same year.
They probably just got old at the same time.
I guess.
dealt with a bunch of injuries.
I guess that's old.
It's old. No, no, no.
Goddard's 30, I think.
Is he?
Yeah.
Yeah, he's pretty old.
Well, Andrew just texted me our producer today as Julie is out.
Oh, he is 30.
Damn.
He got old quick.
Baldi called Tyler Warren, the Penn State tight end,
who's in action tomorrow night.
The next grunk.
Oh, wow.
Well, then the Eagles probably aren't going to go.
But anyway, yeah, I could definitely see it being a Dallas game.
You know, I've been impressed.
just watching the Packers, Edron Cooper, who was a guy we talked about a lot around draft time,
because it's like the Eagles have a linebacker need, but the-
Is he Texas A&M?
Yeah.
Yeah, okay.
And it's kind of the, it's the consistent debate where, yeah, okay, they have a need at linebacker,
but Howie Roseman does not usually pay linebackers.
And so, you know, he went with the defensive backs that worked out well, but he seems
like he's been a pretty good player for them.
Yeah.
Real quick, shows coming to an end momentarily.
I want to buzz through the games around the league this weekend.
and just get your gut reaction.
First one kicking off Saturday afternoon.
It feels like if the Texans are in the playoffs,
just pencil them in the Saturday afternoon game.
Well, I wrote this in the newsletter.
And it's Chargers, Texas.
I wrote this in the newsletter the other day,
whereas the NCAA tournament has Dayton for the first four,
the NFL playoffs always kicks off in Houston, Texas.
It's so true.
It's very fun.
I like the Chargers to kind of,
I don't want to say roll,
but win handedly in this one.
The Texans remind me of last.
year's Eagles a little bit. They just have not put it together. Their record is, is good, but in a lot of
their high profile games, like that Christmas Day game against the Ravens, I know it was a Wednesday
game, but like they just didn't show up at all. And, you know, I think CJ Stroud is not looked that good.
Sophomore slump in a big way for most of this year. And Jim Harbaugh, man, you can really make the case that
he is just a tremendous coach. He turned them around from their funk last year. All right, we're
locked on that one. Saturday night game, I think Saturday games kind of stink a little bit. Steelers.
at Ravens. I think it's the two worst teams
in the playoffs. Yeah. The Ravens
are a big favorite in this. I think it's either nine and a half
or ten. I haven't looked recently.
I don't think there's any chance
in hell Pittsburgh's beaten Baltimore in this one.
I feel good saying
that the Steelers were frauds before the Eagles
played them because this last month has been.
How about that Russell Wilson
scramble at the end of the game the other
night where he could, he could have easily ran
out of bounds with no time out of bounds.
We're thrown it out of bounds and he was like, now, I'll just take
the five yards here.
And kill 25 seconds of the game clock with under a minute to go.
Clock management around the league.
It's,
I guess it's harder than it looks,
I guess.
Or they just,
I think they just need a dedicated clock management guy in the head coach's ear at all times.
And the quarterback to not be a bozo.
Sure.
Yeah.
And then Sunday.
Again,
I think bills run away with this one.
I don't want to say like route them,
but I think they beat the Broncos.
They actually game is kind of stink.
A little bit.
Yeah.
Bo Nix was like, he looked like the second coming of Joe Montana last weekend.
He's kind of entering the playoffs a little bit hot.
He's won the over a little bit.
He's been good.
I took his over 14 and a half touchdown passes this year on about 3,66,
Kaching.
But yeah, there's the playoff bracket.
I was anti-Boh Nix, especially at the beginning of the year when he was just checking down like crazy.
And it just, it wasn't very exciting.
And at some point in the middle of the season, he completely flipped the switch.
He turned into kind of like a farm type gunslinger.
Anyway, I enjoy watching him, but I think they're going to get smoked.
Very cool story I didn't know about last weekend with the Knicks family and Taz Johnson,
the wide receiver from Oregon, that he's basically like an adoptive brother of theirs,
that Bo Nix and him were high school friends and, you know, had some family issues,
and they took in Johnson and their best friends and he calls him his brother.
I didn't realize that story until the Oregon game last week.
Very cool stuff.
Yeah.
To everybody that's been watching on television platforms, we think,
thank you for hanging out with us. If you want to continue watching the show, just head over to
all p.h.l.com. All right. Now, then the Eagles Packers, obviously, the 425 game on Sunday.
The Sunday night game, I think, is perhaps the game of the weekend. And that's the commanders.
The Eagles games game of the weekend. Well, yes, it is. That is probably the best game. But outside of
that, I think commanders bucks is a pretty damn good game. Jaden Daniels versus Baker Mayfield.
how do you see this one?
I think I'm going to lean commanders.
I don't know if I'm giving like two week one rematches
with the Eagles and the Packers and the Bucks
beat the absolute, you know what,
out of the commanders in week one,
but the commanders are a different team.
I think they're 12 and 4 the rest of the way after that.
Yeah. So they've been good.
How do you see this one?
Who got?
I thought it was really cool.
See, the problem is I have my Eagles glasses
is on when I see the bucks.
So I'm thinking like, man, Tampa Bay in January.
That sounds like misery.
How are you supposed to win a game down there?
I would slightly lean towards the bucks because of the home field.
But I think that's pretty close to a toss-up game.
Yeah, I may be giving Jayden Daniels too much credit, but he like, he scares me a little bit.
With all those turnovers to beat the Eagles, he was awesome in that game.
Awesome.
That fourth quarter, he was like lights out.
He was pretty terrible in the other game they played.
Yes.
Yeah.
A little bit of recency bites.
Yeah, sure.
Absolutely. And then the Monday night game, which we talked about earlier, is just a moronic thing to do.
You're putting the team at a disadvantage on a short week in the playoffs. It just seems unfair.
I understand TV dollars rule the world and all of that. But the Vikings Rams, pretty good game in L.A., Matthew Stafford, pretty boy Sean McVeigh, hosting Sam Donald,
who looked incredibly human last week versus the Lions and the boogeyman, Brian Flores, and that defense.
I'm going to go with the Vikings in this one. I think they're the,
the better team, but a little bit of McVeigh-Stafford at home does give me a little bit of fright.
How do you see that one playing out?
I just can't believe that the Rams chose the fourth seat, essentially.
Nobody really talked about that nationally.
Like, when you get Washington or Minnesota now, maybe you say, hey, Minnesota, huge letdown
after they lost the chance to become the number one seed, Rams did beat them earlier this year.
But the other thing that I don't get, and I actually remember when the Rams won the Super Bowl,
they started on Monday night.
They played the Cardinals on Monday night that year.
Why you would choose to play that Monday night game is like crazy.
Yeah, it does seem weird.
So who do you like?
I like the Vikings.
They've been the better too.
I do too.
What would you do if you're the Vikings this offseason with Sam Darnold?
Do you just franchise tag him and see if he can do it again?
That's going to be like one of the more interesting subplots.
Yeah.
I wonder if it is stupid as it seems, Jamie.
I wonder if it comes down to, does he look good in the playoffs?
Does he like, let's say they even lose in two.
Detroit in round two, but he gives them two much better games than we saw last week in Detroit.
Do you extend them?
I don't know.
That's a lot of money.
And just take the franchise tag out of it.
Then you would have to trade McCarthy, right?
If you extend them, I think you do.
My guess is McCarthy's going to be their quarterback and they just let him walk.
Do you?
I think he's going to get an insane contract.
I don't know if I would feel comfortable giving him an insane contract.
No.
Situations and coaching matter.
And clearly, like, he's in the right spot.
Kevin O'Connell is your coach of the year.
But wouldn't you say that, okay, if you have Addison and Jefferson and O'Connell
that helps.
We'll just take the rookie that we drafted in the first round that we think is going to be pretty good.
They're going to be in a real tight spot there.
That's a rock and a hard place to make that decision.
So there it is, the NFL wildcard weekend ahead.
I cannot wait for it.
I'm so excited.
Thank you to Vinnie Curry and ZB.
Wait, wait.
I got one more question for just because the chat was, for 20 solid minutes,
was just talking about food.
Oh, yeah.
Andrew threw in a Baja blast hack.
Yeah.
I saw people got really excited about.
I saw some Taco Bell talk.
Taco Bell.
Baja Blast.
It's three parts.
All you need is Mountain Dew,
blue power aid and Sprite,
and you'll have Baja Blast at home.
See, I was never a Baja blast guy.
Oh, you're missing out.
Am I?
I knew it was never a Mountain Dew guy.
No.
I mean, Mountain Dew would just, you know,
it's like crack, right?
Yeah.
It was originally made,
but I stayed away from it.
It was originally made as a mixer.
for whiskey.
If you didn't know the history of Mountain Dew.
In the bootlegging days?
In the bootlegging days, yeah.
Is it that much caffeine?
I guess.
Andrew's like water white cooking up the Baja Bless.
So wait, did you like just read about this online or did you like know?
Like two years ago, I was on Instagram and I saw somebody making it and then I tried it
and it actually worked.
So you are a Baja Blast, Dave Ote.
Oh, I love Baja Blast.
Anytime I had Taco Bell.
Now, forget you could buy Baja Blass.
in the store, right? It was exclusive to
Taco Bell. You got to get it at Taco Bell.
Going to like Acme or Giant or whatever and getting it there,
forget about it. It's Taco Bell or bust.
Really? Yeah, because you have to pair it with the food.
What was your go-to Taco Bell order? Oh, CrunchRap Supreme.
Yeah? Yeah. So I think the chat agrees with you. There was a lot of crunch
rap Supreme. Were you a big Taco Bell guy? No. I never was.
No, the question I was going to ask you was Chipotle versus Cadoba.
I had this age.
old debate with an old co-worker of mine. I am a
Jopalte man because the first one in the East Coast or one of the
first ones on the East Coast opened in College Park, Maryland. I went to school in
D.C. and Northeast D.C. like just down the road. So we used to drive like 20 minutes
to Jopalte and as a college kid. You got in on the ground floor.
I was in on the, I was like an OG East Coast Jopalte guy. So like I have a
special place in my heart for Jopalte. Now, Kadova is
very, very good.
I don't want to take anything away from it, but my heart lies with Chipotle.
So what do you do at Chipotle when they're, you know, obviously when you get to the protein, you want them to load up.
Here's my little hack.
Don't say double meat until the first scoop is served.
Oh, interesting.
Yeah.
Smart move.
You want that full scoop.
You don't want to get shorted on the first scoop.
So if you're going double meat, which I do occasionally, we'll let that first scoop hit the burrito, then go.
Actually, I'm going to double meat it today.
Yeah.
There you go.
Sometimes you just stare at them.
You know, you're just like, it's not cutting it.
Come on.
Let's keep going.
So what's your go-to order?
Are you a bowl, taco, or a burrito, man?
I usually do a bowl or a burrito.
I mean, I like the burrito.
You know, there's a little more flavor when you do it that way.
But I don't mind the bowl, too.
Now, another online hack I've seen is to that you actually get more in the bowl.
And you order a bowl and then ask for the tacos, like, because the tacos are only like a quarter or whatever.
Yeah.
And then you just make your own tacos.
You can get the wrap on the side too, the tortilla.
I would never go to that much work to do it, but apparently some people do.
I do the chips.
I get the bowl and then the chips and then I eat it almost like a nacho, like a scoop.
Out of the bowl.
Out of the bowl.
All right.
It's a good move.
Huh.
So where are you?
Are you Chipotle or Codoia?
Chappole.
Okay.
Cadova is good.
I have a story about them that I'll tell you off air that I can't really share on.
I don't want to because I'd love for Cadova to advertise with us here.
at PHOI or Jopolte, you know.
You ever see the athletes I get like the Chapulte card?
That's like, yes.
I am so.
You're getting ripped in the chat right now.
I know I say it.
I can't change.
I can't change.
This is 20 years.
What am I supposed to say?
Chapo-Lay.
Chapo-Lay.
Chipotle.
You're throwing up the last syllable.
It's okay.
It's Chapotle.
It's two decades.
I've been saying Jipote, okay?
Chipotle.
What do you say?
Chipotle.
I say it.
Chipotle.
It sounds like a tryhard.
Chipotle.
Chapolet.
I don't even know what I say.
You guys got me all spun around and backwards now.
I love it, though.
And I'm starving.
Now I'm fired up for some food because I didn't eat lunch today.
All I had was a little sizzly this morning.
I'm getting quite hungry.
You ready to go.
Yeah.
All right.
And where are you on this one?
Chipotle versus...
Oh, Chipotle.
There you go.
You did say it.
Chipotle.
You're starting to get there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, chicken.
What was I saying before?
Chapulte.
Chippelte.
Yeah, Chapulte.
It's fine.
Everybody knows what you mean.
Chicken bowl.
Got to go with the chicken.
Yeah.
Over Codoba.
Yeah.
You ever think about...
You throw Moes in.
You throw Moes into the mix.
I was just going to say, Moose.
Southwest Grill.
Yeah, dude.
I have a Moz man.
What do they bring to the table different from the other two?
Well, they do, like, you can get more specialty items.
Okay.
They have their own crunch rap.
It's called like the wrong dog or something.
Wrong dog?
Yeah.
And you can...
load that thing up.
Yeah.
One lucky viewer says that's a boomer pronunciation.
Fine.
That's how I called it from the day it launched,
and it's just stuck with me.
If you know me,
I love butchering last names.
I was making the L silent,
Andy Reeds Moss said,
Chipotle.
You're getting better.
Yeah, all right.
I mean, I'm never going to say it right.
This is who I am.
I've accepted it,
and I hope you do too, guys.
All right, for Andrew Frazier,
Vinny Curry, Zach Berman.
Don't forget tonight,
8 o'clock,
a little playoff edition,
P-H-L-Y Eagles After Dark with Les Bowen, Bo-Wolf and Zach Berman.
Rich, I look forward to doing the show next Wednesday again after the Eagles win this weekend.
And Julia, in the chat, hello, Julia.
Looking forward to the show next Wednesday.
After a dub.
Yeah, when we talk about beating the Packers and the next opponent love.
Everybody that hung out in the chat today, hit that thumbs up button on your way out of here.
And let's go, birds.
We'll see you soon here on the Ph.LY Eagles Show.
See you guys.
