Hello everyone to the PHY Eagles podcast, new year, new beats.
We are here on behalf of Bet365.
Download the Bet365 app and the use code PHLY365 when you sign up.
Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet365.
We have a lot to talk about today.
No show yesterday.
That means we have not yet discussed Nick Siriani's decision to thumb his nose at the NFL record book
and decide that Saekwon Barkley and the rest of the key Eagle starters,
will not play this Sunday as they are locked into the two seed.
We've got Pro Bowl announcements.
We've got Fran's scouting report on the Philadelphia Eagles,
which is up now on all pHLY.com.
We've got Swooper.
We've got some other stuff.
We've got you in the chat.
We've got our Pro Bowl Eagles insider, Zach Berman,
and Fran Duffy next to him as well.
How are you guys doing?
Happy New Year.
Let's make it the best year yet, Zach.
That's a great plan.
That should be the objective.
Thrill to be here, excited for the show.
Excited for the year ahead.
All right.
Well, let's dive right into this bad boy, Zach.
Take us through how things went yesterday at the Novacare Complex,
how those decisions were made and the reaction in the locker room.
Yeah, the headline is, as you mentioned,
the starters or the key starters will not play in this game.
That includes Seekwon Berkeley.
So Saquan Barclay's bid to break Eric Dickerson's record ends 101-yard short,
or 100-yard short of Dickerson, 101-yard short of the record.
He finishes the season with 2005 yards.
I read otherwise.
There's a piece of fiction up on our website that you can read.
How dare you?
I mean, it clearly is fiction.
That's not how there you.
Can I ask you something?
Was that related to the I want to read more fiction New Year's resolution for earlier this week?
No, but it was I asked, I told Zach he should write it and he didn't want to write it.
He only writes nonfiction, so I wrote it.
As soon as I saw it, I read it and I was like, this has to be what Bo was referring to when he said he wanted to read more fiction.
Now, you obviously didn't read it, right?
Of course I read it, yeah.
Oh, but so you read some fiction.
I read everything you're right.
But when I read the rough draft, you had a little thing up above it being like since no one else is writing this.
And then that didn't appear in the final draft.
So no one, I think that line would have been helpful.
So people knew what it was.
No, I purposely took that out.
I know I realized you purposely took it out.
But it's like you have to be in on the joke,
understand what's going on here. Can I say something seriously? Yeah. Don't ever read a rough
draft of mine ever again. That feels incredibly invasive. Okay. If it is not published,
it is private. Don't go clicking around my WordPress. That's that is that is such an invasion
of privacy. Don't you have enough things to read to read. I didn't know what it was. I thought I was I was I
I saw something without a title in our thing.
He doesn't have a title.
Don't click on it.
That's like a workbook.
Yes.
I actually write in a word processor and then I copy and paste it over.
You write in the WordPress.
I realize that now.
Okay.
Anyways, let's get to the news.
I feel violated.
We're never moving on to this.
So Nick Siriani spoke with players on the team, including
Sequin Barclay spoke with...
Imagine like an artist in the middle of crafting their thing
and some other person comes in and judges it based on...
It says it's a working document.
It's not done yet.
Well, number one, it's like a training camp practice that one can watch.
Like, you're doing it in the system that we all have access to.
That's not public.
That's not open to the public.
public. Then do it on Google.
Oh, I should know in the back of my mind that you're clicking around everybody's stories
in progress?
If I see, I mean, respectfully, if I see something in the Eagles section, you know, I'm
wondering, is this here accidentally? Like, you want to see what it is. I tend to know.
You can text me.
I didn't know what, so I opened it. And then I didn't read the whole thing through. I just saw
at the top what it because I saw the top since no one else is writing this. And then I was
Oh, this is what he's doing.
I brought that up because you didn't indicate anywhere in there.
I think it's better that way.
Okay.
Okay.
So, Nick Siriani.
People think this is a bit.
I actually don't think this is a bit.
Oh, no, I absolutely feel violated about that.
Okay.
Nick Siri.
If I have not hit the publish button, that is for nobody to read.
Okay.
All right.
Nick Siriani spoke with Seekwant Barclay, spoke with veterans on the team,
spoke with obviously Howie Roseman, him and Hallie were doing this together.
Other assistant coaches, even Jeffrey Lorry.
They made the determination that the Eagles are going with rest here.
They are resting their key players.
As Lane Johnson said, it also avoids injury.
Lane kept referring to what happened to A.J. Brown last year as an example.
But so that happened.
The players were informed yesterday morning.
Nick Siriani informs the media, the public shortly thereafter.
then in the locker room afterwards, you get reaction, including from Seekwon Barclay.
And I thought Seyquan's reaction was honest.
You were there front and center.
Sequin, he said he's come to peace with this, but he said when he went to sleep on Sunday night, it wasn't a big deal to him.
On Monday, it was a big deal to him.
Not a big deal, but it changed his mind.
On Sunday, he said he didn't really care about it.
And then on Monday, he decided, you know what, if we're going to go for it, I'm excited about that.
Yeah.
Yeah. And I thought it was...
I thought that was honest. I thought that was...
I appreciated that.
Exactly. He said he's on board with this. He said to a question that Bo asked that he didn't sign here to break Eric...
He told his family this. He didn't sign here to break Eric Dickerson's record. He signed here to win his Super Bowl.
That said, I thought it was... It was interesting when he was speaking about...
This might have been a question you asked about who took it the hardest in his family.
And he said his father. He said he...
he definitely wanted me to play selfishly for him.
You got to think about it for however long,
if it took a year for someone to break it
or another 40 to 50 years,
our last name would have been attached to that,
which I thought is a very poignant sentiment.
And then he spoke a lot about the different players on the list.
Like he was actually, you know,
I have a piece that came out yesterday on his,
I teased it too often on the show,
but his appreciation for the history of running backs.
And I thought that came through in how he was speaking yesterday
because he even said, no disrespect Eric Dickerson,
but like what he, the record he really think,
or the stats he thinks he was walking a tightrope,
but you could tell he was like,
the Dickerson record is nice,
it's there,
but it's not the most impressive season.
Yeah, he said O.J. Simpson,
because it was done in 14 games,
and Barry Sanders is the yards per carry.
Which as you chronicled on all pH,
Y for the diehards,
Sequin Barkley, very clearly someone who is like well versed
and has thought a lot about.
running back history. Exactly. And that was, that was apparent throughout what he was saying. Like,
like there was, there was one point where I said, no one has done this twice or, or I guess,
rushed for 2,000 yards twice. Does it occur to you that you might not have this opportunity again?
And he, he knew exactly how many yards Derek Henry needs to catch up to him. He actually
spoke to Derek Henry yesterday. Okay. Derek Henry wanted to see if he was playing. He told
Derek Henry, you know, go make history here.
But Barclay's like, why can't he be the first guy to do it, being him, him, Sequin?
So yeah, so the one sentence summation, and you were right there front and center, so correct
me if I interpret this incorrectly, is that it certainly seems like he would have loved to break that
record, but that he understands intellectually, logically, why they're doing this.
Yeah, I think that's right.
He was also asked about, like, physically, how was he holding up?
He said like his body doesn't feel like he's run for 2,000 yards.
He would not be, he doesn't need the rest necessarily.
No.
And you know, the egos have their own data on his body and stuff like that.
And obviously, as we talked about, it's not just Sequin.
It's you're not exposing him.
You're exposing everybody else who has to play in order to get him ready for the record.
I do.
It's a little bit disappointing just from a romantic standpoint.
But I do think it is the sort of.
sober decision. And I think, I think Lane Johnson was, was very good on this. Like, you know,
Lane has been here for a lot of things, a lot of like great teams, a lot of bad teams, a lot of
like individual accolades. And he seemed to me unbothered by the idea. He's like, you know,
you know, Barry Sanders could have had many more yards if he had run more times. Like, I'm not
going to lose sleep over, over the record. Now, that's not the guy who, as you said, is going to have
his name, his family name,
atop that list forever.
But I think,
I was happy that Sequin was honest enough about it.
I don't think that he is like,
he's upset about this,
but it's interesting.
And obviously, like what they do in the playoffs
is gonna reframe this decision somehow.
No, I actually was taken aback
by how much anger there was too with like the fan base.
Like I feel like there was a lot of the responses.
There was a lot of people that were saying,
Hey, like, this was the smart decision.
And a lot of people, like, they better win a parade.
They better win a trophy off this.
And I'm like, man, like, to me, I kind of go.
I know Dana is always kind of lean.
So he's much more interested in just the team-oriented goal side of it.
And as a fan, like, rooting for the individual accolade.
He kind of gets detached from that.
But I was surprised by some of the anger and the vitriol that came from this decision as well.
Yeah, I understand it.
And I like,
I get why they're doing the decision.
I mean, they're making, you said the silver one.
You can say the sensible one, the logical one.
Yeah.
I will kind of conflate this or bring this in with also the Pro Bowl conversation,
which is, you know, there's this pushback always where it's like,
well, the Pro Bowl doesn't really matter or like these individual records don't really matter.
And I think when you do that, sometimes you lose the human element of it.
Like, it matters to the, it matters to Saquan.
Like the Pro Bowl has its flaws.
Of course, it matters to these guys.
Like you see the videos of like, you know, Zay Flowers and something.
It matters to these people, right?
And I think that, you know, I thought Sequin had a really cool answer when you asked him about doing against the Giants.
I thought so too.
Yeah, Bill had a lot of good questions yesterday.
I was in a good position.
And you ask good questions, too.
It's not just being there.
It's taking advantage of being there.
There's a lot of people who are front and center who like didn't ask questions.
Shots fired.
No, no, no.
No, it's the nature of when someone's by their locker, there's a lot of cameras.
Yeah.
I do.
I have to say, I was trying to get you to get that spot.
I was trying to save a spot for you to get front seven.
But it got too crowded.
The challenge for me is I really value eye contact.
That's why I was trying to get you there.
And you can't have eye contact when you're poking around.
Yeah.
But anyways, his answer to the Giants thing was that,
it would have meant a lot but not for the reason that is framed in the media because because there's a lot
of people on that sideline from trainers and coaches and other stuff who have helped him get to where he
is today like you know worked hard through his ACL recovery he said he he took them through the ringer
and so it's like that would have made it full circle for him and that's the point that that i'm trying
to convey here is it's not just the name in a record book it's
it's like what it takes to get there for these guys.
You know, if you're Saquan Barclay and everything you've been through
for, you know, the last three decades of your life,
you know, two plus decades.
But in addition to that, you just think about your NFL career
and this roller coaster that he's been on
and tearing the ACL in these underperforming seasons
and everything that happened with the franchise tag and free agency.
And like to be in this spot, it's rewarding.
Like to have that opportunity, it's like you,
earned it. That's the thing. No one gives you
that rushing record. You earn it.
And so I
from a human level, like I
get it. And as you said, I approve
as as both you said, I
appreciated the honesty because
like I think there is something
revealing about that. Yeah, I also
think that
we've tried to frame it as like, well, you know, it's not just
Sequan's award. Like this is the Offensive Lines
Award and Milta had talked about that.
I think that's wrong. Like
as history watches things away,
Like those guys can take pride of that, but it's like it's Sequin Barclay's record.
Now, my question to you is, do you think that the reaction of the fan base would have been any different if the Eagles had not yet won a Super Bowl?
Good question. No. No, I don't.
I think there might be a little bit more you have to do whatever it takes to win the Super Bowl because we've never done it.
Like, you know, a little bit more in service of that.
I got to say, I think
like the
and maybe this is unfair
but I do think with the fan base
it's like the statute of limitations of that
2017 Super Bowl expired
right?
I think in some ways
but I don't think it always
you know there will never be another first
like sure
I mean that's just that's just the truth right
and you're thinking about all the all like your family members
who have passed away
who were like we're waiting for this moment forever
Like that's not, that's not going to happen again.
And so I, now that they've done it, I feel like maybe the, like wanting to hang the, hang the Russian record banner is a little bit more of an interesting thing.
But I also think that like this, right now, we think that the story of this Eagle season looking back is going to be this Seekuan Berkeley, unbelievable season, right, this breakout season.
I think we have to remember that like everything we think about this season.
season is about to get completely cast aside and the entire story of the Eagles 24 season
is going to be rewritten by whatever they do in the playoffs. That's what everybody's going to
remember, right? And so to wipe the slate clean themselves, to prepare for that,
I think it makes sense. Yes and no. And I say yes and no because, look, we are the
P. H.LY Eagles show. We do this show for Eagles fans. It would surprise. It would surprise you. It would
surprise me if there's like diehard dolphins fans who tune in every day for the show, right?
That would be deranged, yeah.
So our frame of reference is often the frame of reference of us, our viewers and listeners,
and the people we see every day.
Saquan Barclay's record transcends that.
So Saquant, so like if the Eagles have this first round exit,
Sequin Barclay's season will still that will that will matter so much more to a football fan in
Des Moines and Spokane and Kalamazoo as it would.
Who cares about those people?
But like you know, you know, those people buy sleep tabs too.
Do you understand that reference?
No.
Okay.
Seacon Barclays had a new commercial out about sleep tabs.
Yes.
Got it.
You would appreciate.
He pokes fun and his former.
his former owner, yeah.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
He has a line in there.
Oh, trouble sleeping.
Yeah.
Some people are having trouble sleeping right now.
That's pretty good.
Yeah.
But, so, yeah, I think for our purposes, for Eagles fans' purposes,
uh, and this season, the story of the season is what happens the next month.
I think for the general public beyond Philadelphia,
what's remembered from the season, unless they win a Super Bowl,
has already been that, has already happened.
I think Sequin is the big story
for the general football fan about the Seagull team.
I don't think the general football fan
is like obsessed with Nick Sherry on his job security
or something like that.
I see your point. I don't totally agree, but I think it's fair.
Okay. Now, pivoting away from that,
we also got the Pro Bowl news today, Zach.
Who's going? Who's not going? Who's snubbed?
Well, tell us who's going, and then Fran will tell us who got boned.
Absolutely. So six Eagles made the Pro Bowl.
Sequin Barclay?
obviously.
Zach Bonn,
Jalen Carter,
Landon Dickerson,
Lane Johnson,
Cam Juergens.
Three players made them,
three of these guys
are making their Pro Bowl debut,
a Pro Bowl game's debut.
First time they have this honor.
That's Zach Bonn,
Jalen Carter, and Cam Jurgens.
Okay.
When you see that,
Fran,
who jumps out to you as the biggest snub?
Well,
I know that the one that has gotten
the most traction
has been Jordan Milata.
You know,
just he was,
PFF's highest-graded player
like all season
and they did have that
they did have that thing about
he and Lane are left on an island
more than any other tackles
in the NFL and like
they also perform better
than expected against
when they are left on an island
correct but
I mean he's a victim of circumstance
Penn A soel and Tristan Wurston Wurfs
is gonna be the first team all pro
would be my guess at left tackle
and he's probably not gonna make it over Penny Soule either
so you know
it's just kind of the the tough part
about him being stuck in the in the NFC yeah i think i think you can you know and lane to to use
that yesterday was was stumping for my lota and he said he thinks he's the best left tact on football
you know he's the one person who he would give it to in the locker room if he could but it is it's it's
tough to to to fight through it there what but he had a little bit of perspective on like where he
is in his career what did he say about that yeah there was a point lane's career where where
this this um consumed him you i think it was 2017
when he didn't make it and then he went he drove straight to the facility and slept at the facility is is that
correct right um and he said now he has a little more perspective on it he appreciates it but it's it's
it's not like kind of how he he defines himself he understands too sometimes you have to get established
in this league um but yeah i mean i agree with i agree with the sentiment about jordan myelotta
i think he's a pro bowl caliber player i think it's a shame that there's only three
offensive tackles. There's two centers and three offensive tackles. It would seem that, I mean,
it's not like a real roster. You know, you can have four tackles. So, you know, it would,
it would seem you should have like a backup at each position, right? It's like, you know,
a backup left tackle, backup right tackle, you know, two backup offensive tackles.
I don't know. Well, he is the first alternate. So he would have been the next one, he would have
been the next one up. But you think about Jeff Stoutland, like four of their four of their five
starters are in the Pro Bowl here.
The chapter in 2020, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, Jordan didn't make it that time either.
Yeah.
And so now there's this, you know, he could have been in there.
Obviously doesn't make it.
But yeah, I mean, I think that's a takeaway there.
I mean, AJ Brown had it.
I had a good year, but I actually, I actually think that's a bigger snub.
I think that is a bigger snub.
I think AJ Brown not making it over Terry McLaren.
Yeah.
That would probably be the one I would point to.
I mean, all the efficiency.
The thing is he missed, you know, four, three games or whatever it was.
So I think that's kind of what tip the tide there.
And the fact that Jaden Daniels is getting so much pub,
Washington coming on the scene, that that's why McLaren got a little bit more.
But I mean, A.J. Brown, the numbers, as you say, are off the charts.
He's the only guy.
He's second in yards per target to Jameson Williams,
but Jameson Williams doesn't have nearly as many targets.
On a per game basis, he's unbelievable.
You know, he doesn't, he's a victim of Eagles becoming a much more.
or run heavy team.
But I mean, I think AJ Brown's one of like the five best players in football.
He should absolutely be in the pro ball.
And Quinnian, do you think Quinnian was snuffed?
No, looking at the other, so the corners that made actually, I mean, J.C. Horn making it was a little surprising just based off what I've seen from Carolina this year.
But so J.C. Horn, Jalen Johnson, Byron Murphy in Minnesota, and then Devin Witherspoon.
Corner is tough because, I mean, yeah, he doesn't have a pick.
I know.
That's right.
And I say it's tough to say like he definitely should have been in as a rook.
you without a pick.
Now, the biggest one for me, I would say, would be AJ.
Josh Swett was the other first team alternate.
And I'm looking at the,
give yourself a little pat on the back for that bad boy, Zach.
Why am I giving myself a time?
For sweaty.
You invented him.
First off, no.
I had nothing.
No.
I mean, talk about someone who has dealt with a lot to get to where he is.
Josh Sweets earned this.
And Josh Swet's going to get paid this offseason.
I'm very interested to see what happens there.
I just can't stand
for looking at the defense
staying on the Josh Swetman
you get like eight ed rushers
defensive ends and outside lineback
is separate like okay
can we just modernize this just a little bit
but that being said
yeah I mean Jared first getting it
getting in there probably tilts the
defense's your
the one question on the guy who did make it
you've been not critical
but a little bit like let's not get
over our skis on Lyndon Dickerson
a little bit do you think he's deserving
I think looking around at the other guards in the in the NFC I think that's fine for him to make I mean him getting in he's listed first I don't know if that meant that he was the leading vote getter my assumption is I think it's alphabetical okay I think so yeah so I would say that maybe he got in a little bit on name recognition there but I do think that I mean he the first few games were where he I thought he was struggling I think that and that's why I do think he was nursing some kind of injury early on in the season because the last
five, six, seven, eight weeks, he's been much better.
So, yeah, I think he's deserving for sure.
How about Juergens?
Is he deserving?
Yes.
I do think that Jurgens is.
And what's the, what's the, you had that, you had that one.
Yeah.
Which was not that big of a, it's not that great of a prediction.
Which you did have that prediction in the prediction game, which no one remembers the
no one.
No one remembers the name of it.
But no, I think when you look at the, the centers in the NFC, I don't know that there was
anybody else there that I would say, you know, that definitely deserved it.
But I don't think this one, part of the, part of the methodology was,
was that like Kelsey would be so vocal?
I don't think that was really a part of it.
No, I think it was just the fact that he's been as good as he is.
I mean, and he makes,
he makes like those highlight type blocks that people are going to see.
And so I think that that's,
and that with the success of the run game,
success of Sequan Barclay,
I think that was enough to inflate him up.
Okay.
All right, much more to come after that very news heavy top of the show.
We'll be back after this.

I just want to share just one thing because lost,
if that's the right term,
in all of these Sequan and speculation and anticipation and coverage,
is that Jalen Hertz remains in the,
Concussion Protocol.
So this concussion has, it is serious enough that all concussions are serious, but it has
lingered now beyond a week.
Well, can I ask you a question?
But I just want to say practice is going on now and he's still not at practice.
Okay.
Now that is more interesting.
Yes.
And worrisome than not being out of the protocol because as you explained last week,
getting out of the protocol means practicing and then being okay the next day.
So the Eagles haven't practiced until today.
Yes.
And this is my friend.
DJ Smith, greeting from Eagles, I'm sorry, greetings from Eagles practice where I don't see
Gianlan Hertz or Kenny Pickett at the start of the stretching period.
Is there anything to be said for some gamesmanship here from the Eagles?
They know Jaylen Hertz is not going to play this weekend.
Might as well just keep him in the concussion protocol to make an extra few minutes of preparation
to the opponent?
No, I don't think that because I actually think the concussion protocol.
recall is like I think there's daily monitoring and it would surprise me if yeah if the
gamesmanship so are you worried about this well they have a playoff game in a week and a half
whether it's Saturday or Sunday it's in a week and a half and he still he he still hasn't
practiced so your antenna starts to get starts to go up I mean practice I'm imagining that he
will practice here by next week.
Now, if they have a Saturday game, let's say, practice is Tuesday next week.
Right.
Now, there's a lot of days between now and Tuesday.
But this is, yeah, this is worth monitoring.
Yeah, because if he's not out there today, that means that he needs to practice tomorrow
to potentially come out of the protocol by Monday, right?
Well, yeah, like to have a practice that he's clear, but he can he can still practice.
and then like officially clear protocol next week.
So yeah, if he practiced him,
so I think more of the concern is if he doesn't practice tomorrow,
then it kind of carries over again.
Yeah, so yeah, you want, yeah, you're right.
You want to see him practice tomorrow.
Otherwise, he has to, if he's not on the practice field,
the first day next week, that's when you start saying,
is it a 10am key?
I mean, because Kenny Pickett's clearly dealing with something with the rig.
He's also not a practice, right?
Yes, exactly.
Hmm.
And then that opens it up for, I mean,
if Tanner McKee lights it up this weekend.
It's possible.
Tanner McKee had a great answer to your question.
Another great question from above.
Yeah.
Where he was like, what's the big difference between,
what's the big difference between, you know,
between playing the preseason and playing the regular season.
That's not that kind of a question.
That's a standard question.
You framed it in a good.
And his answer was, well.
It was a very good answer, actually.
He's like, well, AJ and Spuddy are really good.
He's like, I don't get to throw
to guys like that ever.
Because then I even asked him, I asked him later on
after you left.
I'm like, you know, not to disparage
the Stanford wide receivers or the guys you play
with in the preseason.
Well, you already disparage the entire
Stanford program the other way.
Well, they have a great GM now.
Stanford has a GM now that I respect
immensely. So, you know,
how that is? Andrew Luck.
There you go. Yes.
A couple former temple guys on that staff, too.
So I said not to disparage
Stanford or the guys who play with in the preseason,
but do you think you show more of who you are?
Do you get to show more of who you are when you play with NFL caliber receivers?
And he like, he's like, you know, that's a really good question,
which is like his way of saying yes.
And then he's like, I'll just put it this way.
I like to think of it like I'm a point guard and you're just trying to get the ball to
to your tough guys.
Yeah, exactly.
Now, question for your,
you know, just outrageous and mean-spirited framing of the Tanner McKee track record.
This game is going to be played January.
Will that count as before October or after October?
No, that does.
We're going to calendar year?
No, we're only season.
Yeah.
Look, if he gets a win.
He's potentially going to make a start after October.
He could potentially get a win after October.
He started after October.
He doesn't want after October.
Yes, yes.
Because you could argue this is before October.
Yeah, no, no, in a season.
Yeah, he's never won past October.
Your expectation is he's going to start this game?
Yeah, certainly he's talking that way like he is.
Okay.
Well, let's get into it.
We have a very, very, very, very, very exciting game that we are pleased to
debut on this episode of the PHLY Eagles podcast.
You know what's exciting because Bo texted at like 7.30 this morning with the idea.
So you know that he's very excited about.
Yeah, I was thinking about it in bed last.
night I didn't do it until about half an hour ago but what's you I can't be thinking
about inactive's in bed no nothing couldn't fall asleep last night you know thinking
about the show what can we do and so here's what we're gonna do the Eagles have the
inactives to fill out this week you get six inactive potentially a third
quarterback if you're gonna do it we presume the Eagles are gonna elevate two
players from the practice squad and there's now an open roster spot on the
roster thanks to the placing of CJ Usama on injured reserve yesterday and so we all are all gonna fill
out who our inactives are our elevations are and the roster spot and whoever wins this game
whoever gets the most correct answers will win one turkey to be added to their playoff
swooper sorecasting budget very exciting uh okay if there's a tie it's going to go in so the
if you can predict the elevated who signs the roster spot okay that's the most important tiebreaker okay
second most important tiebreaker is the elevations okay and then if it's still tied after that we will go to
um well they both get half turkeys got it they both get one turkey if all they both get one full turkey
if all three of the tiebreakers are the same got it okay all right how do you guys want to do this
Zach, why don't you give us your inactive's first?
Sorry.
And Franon and I will tell you if we have any differences.
Okay.
So, yeah, I have Janwin on this list.
Do I designate him as the third quarter?
Do I, I don't know.
Don't ask me.
No, I'm saying I, because I just wrote it down as like seven inactives
because I typically think of seven inactives.
Yeah, but one of them has to be.
Yeah, so I guess.
So if Jaywin's not designated as the third quarterback,
and he can still be, he can still be an act?
active can't he could still be with they can still have seven inactive right
yeah no in order to have seven inactive one of them has to be designated as the third
quarterback interesting yeah okay so then this this kind of screws me up here because they're
not allowed to designate hurts as the third quarterback if he's cleared if he's not cleared
um so then i guess for my purposes i'll have six okay okay i jalen hurts i also have jalen
hurts i also have jalen hurts i also have saquin barclay i also have saquan barclay i also have
Sequin Barclay. I do as well. Lane Johnson.
I do as well. I also have Lynn Johnson.
Jordan. I do not have Jordan.
Okay. Darius Slay? I do have Darius Slay. I did not have Darius Lay.
And then I had, I'll give you, because I had seven here. I had J.1 Carter and A.J. Brown.
I had both of them. So then I need to take one off this list. And the one I would take would be
myelotta. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. You were
hurt our reaction to my lot of it's not the reaction it's that i'm not gonna i i did it no no you had to
make that decision before you read the seven that's insane i you know i'm not gonna fight over this game
we're crazy we're 236 ball no well because just pretend that hurts is your third quarterback
okay i'll pretend all seven that's what i'll do i'll pretend that hurts is my third quarterback so i
get all seven okay all right so i also have hurts lane a j sleigh and sayquan yeah
I have Kenny Pickett as my third quarterback.
I have Kenny Pickett as my third quarterback.
And then my last one is I have Devante Smith.
I had Devante Smith as well.
So the only difference between us is, who did you have?
You have Jalen Carter.
So I have Jalen Hertz, Sequin Barkley, both A.J. and Devante.
Yes.
Lane, Jalen Carter, and Kenny Pickett as the emergency third quarter.
Okay, so I have Slay.
You have Jalen Carter.
There you go.
So that's our difference.
All right.
Now, let's go to the elevations.
You're thinking about it.
That makes more sense.
Let's go to the elevations.
Yep.
Fran, you get to go first now on your elevations.
All right.
So my first one is Tyrion Davis Price.
Hmm.
I thought with Shipley still, you know, limited coming out the concussion protocol,
not sitting, not having Seekin' parking in the game.
I thought Trian Davis Price is a nice innings eater.
I don't think they want to put Kenny Gainwell out there too much in the game.
So I put TDP out there.
And then I went with our good friend Chuck Harris.
Yeah. Elevation number two.
I was on the fence here. I went Chuck Harris as well.
Yeah.
Do you need to see Chuck Harris?
Like, wouldn't you rather see K.J. Henry or O'Shawn Mathis?
However, he's around here for a reason, right?
So I also have Chuck Harris there.
Now, I'm counting on Will Shipley being cleared for the protocol,
so I did not have Tyrion Davis price.
I'm just thinking about where they're also going to need a body.
And I went Gabe Hall as the defensive tackle.
So you don't have to play Jordan Davis,
and that way you can rotate between Hall.
Booker and Ajima.
Okay.
Okay.
How about you, Zach?
I won Gabe Hall and I went Davis Price.
So I would like to get an edge here.
I haven't having a real hard time with this game here.
But, yeah, this shows you how he's thinking about all the different decisions that
Howie has right now.
Why are you having a hard time?
Well, no, because look, I need to see how the week progresses.
with injuries.
It is Thursday afternoon.
Yes.
So. We're doing this
between a nap today.
You make it sound like I was laying in bed.
You got a nap.
All right.
I'll give the story there.
30 seconds.
So people don't think I was taking a nap.
God forbid.
Okay.
New Year's resolution.
New Year and New Year.
My kids are off the school.
Yeah.
I took them.
So to help out my wife,
who's got a lot of work right now,
I took them to a movie this morning.
I took that there was a 9.30 showing of Mufasa.
And I went to the movie theater.
And I got us, it was a theater where the seats were Klein.
And I was out in like the first five minutes of the movie.
I was out.
I woke up with Sloan saying, read, I think Dad's sleeping.
like I put that seat back
I couldn't have my phone
I don't know what's so funny here
I just remember
it's it's it's it's it's it's it's
Rafiki with uh you know
Rafiki's like the wise
and he starts telling about Mufasa
and then the next thing I know
it's like 30 minutes into the movie
I'm trying to pick up the pieces
about what's going on I want to make sure
my kids are still there
I was out.
Like this was, I mean, I could take an Advil PM.
Like this, this, this theater was so comfortable.
It was, yeah.
Emily's going to start sending you to the movie theater just so.
Probably, yeah, probably.
But yeah, so that's, that's what happens.
No, I did not have a designated nap this morning.
I did not.
That is a nap.
I wasn't like, you know, I'm going to take a nap.
I, no, I got up early to do work before.
and then
I took into the movies
and came here
we saw Mufaso on Friday
I saw it this weekend too
It was good
It was good
The music was just okay
Oh really
We have been banging that music in the house
Yeah I thought the music was really
I thought the music was really good
Yeah it was all right
But the movie was good
I thought the story was good
If you want to go fast go alone
There's the road
Off you go
Yeah so
Jack doesn't remember that song
If you want to go
far we go together yeah so i have i have gave paul and tie david's price i probably would like
i don't know why i have to call him that but oh man excuse me you know what i'm saying uh all right
so then last up who's your who's your signs to the active roster guy um i isn't it you're
turn to go first your turn paris campbell i'm paris campbell too went dallas gant oh interesting
Interesting.
That's a good long-term play
if they're going to actually need
an extra special team's body,
what they saw from him last week.
I'm thinking Paris Campbell,
like, what's he been here for this whole time?
Now, they don't need four wide receivers,
but I feel like this is like a make-good from Nick,
and then they just wave him next week.
I was thinking, because initially I was thinking about a Kari Blasen game.
I was thinking about that too,
like the guys who had their elevations expired.
Elevations are expired, no tight end.
You lose you.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Yeah, yeah.
So Calcutara and E.J. Jenkins are the only healthy tight ends.
Maybe you don't want to have Grant out there.
So I thought Blasling game could take over some of that.
I ended up going to go into a good.
But if you're only going to play E.J. Jenkins,
that means you're going to want to be in free receiver sets the whole time.
So you need a fourth receiver active.
Yes.
Yeah.
So if I can give a little roster thinking here, if you,
okay.
So, yeah, I guess everyone, I was thinking you want to bring someone up from
practice squad, but this is a spot on 53.
So no, yeah, I see what you're saying.
Paris Campbell would make sense.
Blasen game would make sense.
You're going to have to wave the guy.
Gant's interesting, though, because they're, I mean, if we presume that, I mean,
I think Bond and Dean are going to be active just because they have to be in backup duty,
but they don't, I mean, it's just Trotter Jr. and Orrin Burke.
So you would like to have a third linebacker available.
If someone gets available.
You're not going to want to throw Bonn in there.
Right.
Maybe that's, maybe they don't need you.
Maybe they don't need King Paul.
They just go with the two defensive tackles.
I don't know.
That's why this is going to be the most excited game that we've ever done.
The most exciting.
A couple super chats from Claire.
Early on, she said Peckness Migrate, the idiot, Anna Karenina, and Lolita.
I'm not following.
I mean, he doesn't know fiction, but he does know Lolita.
Lolita.
I don't have a good answer for you, Claire.
Unfortunately, I've not read any of them.
I've got nothing from there either.
Alex says ZB would read Bo's diary if he left it open on his desk.
I agree.
That is how I feel.
All right.
I'm going to defend myself here, okay?
Like, I mean, not to like I pat myself on the back or like inflate my, my role.
I tend to be the one who's in dashboard the most.
Is that fair?
Or in our Eagles, the back end system the most.
Okay.
Okay.
and I tend to know like what content's going up.
You have an open line to me.
You can text me anytime.
Yeah, all I did was click.
I also told you yesterday I was writing this.
This was before that.
Because I,
you're doing this stuff on the show. I actually told you.
I said, I saw you're doing that.
Yeah, I was offended.
But you waited to bring that up on the show.
Well, then you re-brought it up.
But you weren't offended yesterday.
I was.
I was thinking about it.
I clicked preview.
I didn't read through it.
I wanted to.
skimed it. No, I just wanted to see what it was.
Like, oh, this is great. I love when you're
right. I say that all the time. I see, I see
the Pope Wolfvite. Don't get used to it. So,
I mean, not if I'm going to get peeped on.
Okay. So then I see
I see at the top.
Peep and Zaz over here. It says, since
no one else is writing this.
Call the cops. And I was like, oh, that's
interesting. And then I read, oh, so he's doing
fan fiction here. Okay.
That's when he stopped. That's when I stopped.
I read it today because I read
everything that appears in our site. Please be a diehard. I read all four teams. I know more about
the Flyers New Year's resolutions than anyone than I ever would have expected. But yeah, I've read
everything on all phtly.com. All right. Well, if you want to read things that are meant for you to read,
become a diehard. I think Zach was in the right there. No. Let me ask you, if you saw a random
show in our feed, would you want to know what that was?
Was it unpublished?
I don't know what the equivalent would be.
If you saw in Notion, something about a show scheduled, an email show schedule.
I would probably text Julia and ask, what is this?
Okay.
You wouldn't click in on Notion and say, whoa, what's the show?
Well, that's not how Notion works.
You know that.
All right.
Okay.
Let's get on with the advertisements.
People pay good money to appear on our show.
Yes.
you know uh
Zach paid good money to take a nap this morning
yeah
he did
yeah actually I did
mat-nay show these days
is like 1250
sitting in the cuck chair
at the hotel
read my stories
my unpublished stories
all right
let's take a break
ah we got a glad hair
restoration read
that's exciting on a Wednesday
it's not a Wednesday
it's a Thursday
it's the third day
it's the third show of the week
That's what we were discussing when you were talking.
Oh, yes.
We got five grade out.
I reached out to John on that front, so you can see that now.
Good inside the weed stuff that we're talking about here.
But let's talk about the weeds on top of your head.
Get it together.
Do you want me to do the weird?
It's going to be a good year.
What did you guys think of the music, by the way?
Let us know in the chat what you thought of the new music.

thousand people.
Fran, he went through and did the exercise that we talked about last week.
Yep.
Looking at this Eagles team and the roster as if they were the opponents.
What did you learn?
Was it an exercise that you felt useful?
Yeah, I mean, it was just a way just to kind of take stock of where I view all of
basically the entire depth chart going into the postseason.
So I wouldn't say that I did more film work.
I did do some extra like statistical stuff than I would normally do.
but it was more just okay
what are my thoughts on
moro jama
as we sit here right now
you know and kind of went through
all the all 53 guys on the depth chart
so yeah
I thought it was a good exercise and you can go check it all out now
on all phtoI.com
let me tell you what your thoughts are on morojaima
just a little tease if you're thinking
about becoming a die hard
moro ajama here we go
really taking a step down the trench
down the stretch
not the trench quick off the ball
pop on contact
to change line of scrimmage in the run game
can disrupt versus run and pass
good rotational piece.
He's been really good the last couple weeks.
I think that the last two weeks,
I would say, would be the best two games
of his career so far.
If I can ask you, do you see enough of Ojima
that you would say, all right,
Milton Williams, you're not going to pay him
$15 million?
The way that he has played
the last couple of weeks has given me more faith
that if you were to move on from Milton,
that he would be,
he would be able to step in and play increased snapshot for sure was there anything that struck you as like this is where they're weak this is where i would attack them that you didn't already have in mind um no i think the the bigger one was almost uh so at the bottom every week i usually do like all right these are the keys to victory for the eagles in this game and so for for me in this exercise i did all right here the three keys for this unit going into the postseason um so it was a nice way to just kind of like crystallize my thoughts on both sides of the football going into the playoffs and so
And, you know, for me, I would say the big one, I think that from a past game standpoint,
offensively, obviously we've talked so much about Jalen Hertz and the, you know, the up and down
nature of the passing attack so far this year.
I do think that with Jalen missing now, it'll be basically three weeks going into the postseason,
that number one, you want to kind of get him into a rhythm, certainly when he gets back, do everything
you can to kind of make him comfortable in that first game in the wild card week.
But the other big one is, the explosive plays in the past game,
they were ninth from weeks one through nine.
And then since then they've fallen all the way down to 17th, week 10 on.
So just finding those, you know, we know how much Nick Siriani talks about the explosive plays
through the passing game.
They just have not been getting them there.
They've been getting explosive runs, obviously,
but have not been getting those explosive passes.
And I think that when they get into the playoffs,
you want to be able to get those explosive plays.
Zach, just to cross artis and dot our eyes,
the Eagles activated the practice window for Dallas Goddard.
Yes.
This week is your expectation that he will be ready to go for the playoffs?
Yes, my expectation is that he'll be ready to go for the playoffs.
His practice participation yesterday was such that he is, like, he's trending in a very positive direction here.
I don't anticipate him being activated for Sunday's game because they're going to need that roster spot as we just saw what that exercise we just did.
But I would expect him to be there for the playoffs.
I'm curious what they'll do because.
And we should also say, I think we said this before, CJ Usama's on IR.
C.J. Usama's on IR.
So next week they can do Goddard to the active roster and take Ian Book off the roster.
Correct.
And then we'll see what they do with this last roster spot.
Maybe it is.
Well, maybe it's your Gantman.
Because his elevations are not up, so they don't have to.
Well, the thing is, and this is something that Denise will tell us tomorrow too,
that there's unlimited elevations during the postseason.
So you're allowed to bring up Lasen Gators.
every week if you wanted to, but you can only do two still.
So if there's someone you're going to have, if you want a Hari Blossom game on your roster
for the postseason, and you want to save those elevations, you can put him on the 53.
And then we should just say, since we talked to Saquan about this and he knew it,
the record for most rushing yards in a season, including the playoffs, 2,476.
So Saquan is going to need 471 rushing yards.
yards over the course of the postseason to tie that.
Terrell Davis in 2008.
Yeah.
1998.
1999.
Sorry.
Which if he continues his, the average, like, yards per game, he'll do it in Super Bowl.
There you go.
That'd be fun.
So, he would have that.
You know, the other, so that was one number I did look for, I did pull for that piece.
The other one that I thought this was just more like interesting anecdote.
So Jalen Hertz, obviously, it looks like he's not going to play this week, obviously.
so he will have missed the last two games
of the regular season
would presumably be back
for the first game in the playoffs.
Let me just pull this number.
Here it is.
Okay.
If Jalen Hertz does not start in week 18
but returns for the playoffs,
he would be the first quarterback to suffer an injury
then not start the last two regular season games
but return for the first playoff start
since Peyton Manning in 2015 with Denver
when they went on to win Super Bowl 15.
Okay.
That's from NFL media.
Good little cherry pick.
Yeah.
I like that.
All right.
Well, speaking of champions, you've got Eric Dickerson.
You've got Bowulf.
Before we even get to Super Sorkasting,
it's time to take a look at the season long over-unders.
Spread your wins and fly.
Oh, Eric Dickerson is rushing for you as a champion.
I was thinking of Super Bowl champion.
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah, go on.
Okay.
Well, you take it from here.
I knew that was
You got it.
Yes and.
Serenity now.
Julia, do you have that?
There we go.
So, the spreadger wins and fly draft.
Zach, your total is done.
You're going to go seven and five.
You hit on the Chiefs over,
your favorite one every year.
You missed on the Steelers under.
After all that talk about what a great staff they had,
you bet against Tom.
And you lived to tell the tale, but he did lose.
He went on the Giants under.
The Bengals over missed that.
Yeah.
The Titans under, got that.
The Cardinals under.
Over.
Over.
You have it?
Yeah, I got right here.
Hold on.
Let me pull up the full one from Danes here.
Okay, I got it.
The Jaguars over.
Missed.
The Jets over nine and a half.
Big miss.
Brown's over eight and a half miss, then you closed strong with the commanders over six and a half,
a Ravens over 10 and a half, and a Colts under eight and a half. He hit both of your challenge flags
to go seven and five. Fran, you hit your first three. Good start to the draft. Hit my first four.
Hit your first four. You're only under. Hit your first four. Vikings over six and a half. Lions over
ten and a half, bills over ten and a half. Raiders under six and a half. Then you missed on the
Falcons over nine and a half.
That was the big game from Sunday night that flipped this and made it final.
The Colts over eight and a half.
You missed.
You hit the Rams over eight and a half.
You hit the Broncos over five and a half.
You missed the dolphins over nine and a half.
You missed the bears over eight and a half.
And you were 50-50 on your challenge flags.
Steelers over eight and a half.
Bucks under seven and a half.
You finish seven and five.
I'll let you finish.
Go ahead.
Okay.
Bo, great job.
But Packers over nine and a half
Seahawks over seven and a half
Niners under 11 and a half missed on the Ravens
Ravens under 10 and a half that was a miss
The only one in the entire league that is still
Undecided is Texans who have nine wins
They have been on the precipice for like years now
I took them over nine and a half
They're going to need a win I believe resting their starters this Sunday to hit that
I took the Saints under seven and a half
The bucks over seven and a half
the half. The Patriots over four and a half. That's a miss. The Cowboys over 10 and a half. A big miss.
And then closed strong with the Chargers over eight and a half and hit both my challenges.
The Falcons under nine and a half. The Jets under nine and a half. I'm eight and three. I have clinched and can get as high as nine and three.
That is a demonstrative victory. And unfortunately, Julia had the remaining team left over the Carolina Panthers. And she went over five and a half. Sorry, Julia.
I'd be interested to see the
If we could do like a
Add it up
Yeah exactly
Your Vikings one is helpful
And Lions too
Yeah
Bill's too I guess yeah
I think next season we should do
This is a different time of year
What do you mean?
I think we should do this
In like before training camp
It begins
In one of those quiet times
Because every
Because we do this show
during like the busiest portion of the summer for the Eagles.
Like we squeeze it in before final cuts
or working on these end of the summer stories.
Yeah, every year it seems like this day is just squeezed in.
What's this?
Just a sad violin.
I mean, it's like the biggest complaint I've ever heard in my life.
No, I'm not complaining.
This is constructive like feedback here.
This is what you want.
You want to get better.
You're looking for ways to get better.
We manufacture story ideas.
Thanks for watching on TV on Fast.
Check out the rest of this episode on PHAY.com.
Yeah.
So, no, we manufacture a story or show ideas for the middle of the summer.
This would be ideal for like July 15th.
And then because when you do it like August 25th, there's so much going on.
that time you don't want to get you don't want to get the training camp injuries yeah okay okay
but you are going with the number that they have it like if there's if the quarterback gets hurt
the number is adjusted so not from the point you're drafting though no but I'm saying you're picking
true okay yeah that's fair you should or maybe you get the adjusted number I don't know just it's just
it's a fair proposition it's just an idea it's no but it's okay all right
Super jab from Vince, who says if Hertz is still in the concussion protocol,
does that mean he cannot sit in on film training?
Good question.
Good question, Vince.
No, there's different stages of the concussion protocol.
So if he's at a stage now where he can do light aerobic activity,
then he's allowed.
So that's stage three, then he would be allowed to be in the film session.
And from just speaking to different players, he's around the team right now.
So it's not as if he's in a, you know, there is a stage where you have to be in a dark room.
He's not in that stage right now.
You know, Tanner McKee talked about the feedback that he had.
We saw the clip last week when the players got their golf carts.
So no, he is allowed to be in film training as long as he's in stage three of the protocol.
Fran, before we get to Super, knowing that this is going to be a game of backups, what is interesting to you?
Wow.
Yikes.
Look, to me, like, it's the, we get extended looks at Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Kiwi Ringo, Moro Jama.
you know, we'll see what the offensive line, like who's going to play along the offensive line.
It's almost like it's a preseason game for me, the way I look at it.
So, yeah, I would say that's probably the most interesting end of it.
How about you, Zach?
There's so much that I'm looking forward to watching in this game.
I mean, we'll start off obviously with Tanner McKee, him getting a meaningful start here.
I want to see Jahan Dotson.
Jehan Dotson's been a disappointment, relatively speaking, since they acquired him.
He'll be the...
It would be very funny if he just had a monster game.
He'll be the top receiver for the Eagles.
I want to see some of like the young defensive players,
Keely Ringo being one of them.
You know, so some guys who could emerge into starting spots down the line.
So yeah, so that's intriguing.
And I'm also fascinated by now, like the Giants players don't care about their draft seating
or their draft position, right?
but the Giants are incentivized to lose.
They're facing his bad, or they're facing a team of backups.
It's like, who's, you know, the, do the Eagles win this game with Tanner McKee and
Johan Dodson and Fred Johnson and you go on down the list.
Okay, good stuff.
All right.
We have a few more here.
Let's see here.
We've already gotten those.
No.
Oh, oh.
We have another one from Claire who's doubling down on our super chat.
She says, peck nest migrate.
Bose drafts Lolita, a book by Malcolm Gladwell.
I'm definitely nesting Malcolm Gladwell's books.
Those books are awesome.
Yeah, a big fan of Malcolm Gladwell.
I've never read Lolita before.
That was actually the problem with that.
It's that I didn't know what Lolita was about.
I just heard that phrase from a radio instructor one time.
So I will go with, I will migrate Lolita.
And I will pack Bow's drafts because there are times
when you want to see like one time what that story is in the dashboard that it didn't
even have a headline.
I thought it was about that.
That's exactly right.
It didn't even have a headline.
So of course, it's not ready to be read.
You're lucky I didn't delete it.
Why would you delete it?
What?
That's insane, Zach?
No, it's not insane.
Yes.
No, because if you see.
But you see when it's up, you see when it's created when it's updated.
If I see just.
If you saw that.
that a thing is updated and it doesn't have a title yet obviously that is not to be read.
You see,
I actually think that you're in the minority of writing in.
That's fine.
That's true.
That's fine.
So if you're,
if you see,
because if it doesn't have a title,
it's clearly not ready to be looked at.
No,
honestly,
if I see something that says no subject in WordPress,
I think it was a draft that was created that's not meant to be there and
therefore it should be.
Isn't that what,
you what you would think?
Because there are times when I create something
and then I create something.
If you had deleted it, like...
Yeah, I mean, I would be...
I would tell Vince he needs a higher replacement
because I would have a new job tomorrow.
It'd be the end of existence.
Yeah.
Keep your fingers at my business.
Let me know you're writing something.
That'd be wonderful.
I told you.
Idiot Sandwich has a super chat.
He says,
caught snoozing, Berman snores while lion roars.
Didn't snore.
Did not snore.
That's why I thought.
How do you know?
Yeah.
How do you think?
Slow and knew that you were out and he was sleeping.
That's why 30 minutes in.
She wanted water.
We didn't get water.
You know, we also did the Cosmo Kramer thing where, you know, you stop a while while ahead
of time and you, I didn't bring coffee in, but brought treats for the kids.
Okay.
But no water?
What's that?
No water?
No, that was the mistake I made.
So then I had to go, this bad boy over here.
I mean, you would think...
Oh, but it's the smart...
I mean, that's the great twist, though.
That's not my favorite twist.
No, but my point is, is...
It's probably $15, yeah.
Yeah.
So, yeah, Sloan, she was turning,
she was turning me looking for water,
and I was sleeping.
I wasn't snoring.
I've always wanted a brother.
They say they, brother.
Yeah, I didn't...
I just didn't...
It was fun.
It was okay.
Super chat from DJ, aka Mr. Sandman,
who says,
is the Eagles postseason opponent determined yet.
It is not right.
Now, it will be the Green Bay Packers and it will be the Green Bay Packers unless the Packers
win on Sunday and the commanders lose on Sunday and those games played concurrently with the Eagles
game at 1 o'clock.
So we will know during the postgame show who the Eagles are playing.
We won't know when yet, but we will know who.
Okay.
Supertime.
Last week, Zach, he had three items.
Sequin Barkley finishes the game with more rushing touchdowns this season than Jalen
Hurts.
That did not happen.
More than one of the lower seeds in this round of the Collins football playoff wins outright.
That happened.
And Micah Parsons records zero sacks.
That happened.
You hit two.
Fran, A.J. Brown finishes the game with a cast percentage on the season greater than or equal to 70%.
Did not happen.
The Eagles defense forces at least X.
Three and outs and turnovers combined.
You chose seven.
And they got it.
And then the largest lead by either team of the game is greater than the number of turkeys from which this item sells.
That was 11 turkeys.
you hit it, you both hit two.
Bo. Tanner McKee plays an offensive snap.
Bang.
Either team completes a pass of 10 plus air yards off a double move.
Bang.
A non-offensive touchdown is scored in the game.
Bang.
Sequin Barkley accounts for more scrimmage yards than C.D. Lamb and Cavante Turpin combined.
Bang!
Jalen Hertz and Tanner McKee combined for more snaps than Trey Lance.
Bang!
And the Eagles win the game.
Double bang.
the Vikings and Lions both fail to win did not happen
six which has to be a super record
and I take the lead on the season going to five and five sixth
half a game ahead of Fran
who is at five and a third and Zach who is two points behind
at 3.83 but remember we're a long way away
from the end here though this is the end of the regular season
in the playoffs the points increase
one point for every round which you
might argue renders the regular season moot but that's okay there's no guarantee of the playoffs
could end at any time so uh away we go it's the eagles in the playoffs it's only the eagles in the playoffs
only so the eagles losing the round in the wild card that's the last super yes okay uh just confirming
fran and zach both have two turkeys left over i have negative four so you both start with 26 i
start with 20 and uh fran i believe it is your turn to kick things off by the way i saw in the chat
the reason i'm on my phone is my computer's dead i'm not just looking at my
phone. Fair enough.
Is it me,
then somebody's diary?
You start.
It goes Fran then Zach than Boe today.
Okay.
One second.
I want to make sure that my bookkeeping's in order.
All right.
All right.
Here we go.
My first one.
Eagles running backs run for at least
102 yards.
I'm smiling because I had this and then I thought to myself,
I bet somebody else does something similar,
so I'm going to take this one away.
There you go.
All running backs.
All running backs.
So not just any single.
running back
not just any single running back
yep and not quarterback
running backs run for at least
102 yards obviously that's
the mark that Seekoine Barkley would have needed to hit
to break the record we will start
the bidding at
three
do you count a fullback
if a fullback is running
good question um yeah sure
okay
Kari Blasking him if he's in there
you're starting to bidding at what
three three I'll say four
Port a bow.
Let's go five.
Five to Fran.
Six.
Oh, six to Zach.
We'll do seven.
Seven to Fran.
Seven to Fran.
Seven to Fran going once.
Eight.
Oh, eight to Zach.
Hmm.
Eight to Zach going once.
Nine.
Nine to Fran.
And if I'm going once.
Going twice.
Take it.
And a friend.
17.
All right, mine here is Tanner McKee throws for greater than 208 yards.
And the 208 yards is what the New York Giants allow this season.
So greater than what the New York Giants allow the season.
They allow 208 yards per game.
I'll start the bidding at two.
So it has to, not equal, has to be two and nine.
Three.
Three to Fran.
Four.
Throwing a slop.
What?
Four to that.
Five.
Five to Fran.
Six.
Six to Zach.
Six is that going once.
Six is that going twice.
Good bye.
Two nine.
All right.
My first submission is also a Tanner McKee submission.
Tanner McKee does at least one of the following things.
He has a passer rating greater than 125,
greater than or equal to 125.
He throws at least two more touchdowns than interceptions.
He scores a touchdown himself, or he finishes the game with a top three EPA per dropback for any starting quarterback for the Eagles this season.
And I will start the bidding at three.
Three to bow.
Four.
Four to Zach.
Five.
Five to Fran.
Six.
Six to Bo.
Seven.
Seven to Fran.
Seven to friend going once.
I'm not going to root against my boy.
It's okay.
I can be happy.
going twice.
Oh my God, I was about to hit the hammer.
I was just hanging there.
God, you can have free.
All right.
Yeah, good for you.
Yeah.
I'm going to ruin for that touch push.
Yeah.
All right, our first in is as we enter,
Fran has 17, Zach has 20, I have 12.
Okay, item four.
All right, first complete sentence, then
normal auction.
X leads all
Eagles defensive
linemen,
including edge rushers
in defensive snaps
played.
Whoever one item three,
which is me,
must complete the sentence
by choosing
any Eagles defensive
lineman for X
and then start the bidding
for a normal auction.
Hmm.
Defensive snaps played.
Now,
do I want to drive the price up
or do I want to have an item
that's not likely to hit?
I'm going to go
You know what
I think the most interesting one here
Is Bryce Huff
So I'm going to say Bryce Huff
And I'm going to start the bidding at one
Two
Two to Fran
Three
Oh
Three to Zach
Is that going once
It could definitely be Bryce Huff
Could be
Is that going twice
All right I'll take it
So
I feel like
I feel like we've lost a little bit here.
Are you okay?
I'm good.
I'm good.
You're thinking about the Lion King.
No, no, no, no, no.
I'm thinking about another stuff.
Everything okay?
Yeah, yeah, I'm good.
Eagles locker rooms opening earlier than I anticipate it.
So you're stuck here, held hostage.
It's opening a 340, so I'm just kind of,
I can tell you we're really raising through this.
I'm watching the clock quickly.
Okay, I appreciate the honesty.
Drew Locke.
Now, Drew Locke throws for under 228 yards.
Now, the reason why I picked under 220 yards, obviously he eclipsed this last week.
228 would have been his high mark for the season before last week.
So it's basically, you know, is he going to have better than what he had done before last week happening here against the Seagull's defense?
We'll start the bidding of two.
It has to be under.
Under, under, so 227 or less.
Four.
Four to bow.
League neighbors.
Ford a bow going once.
And he wants to win.
Yeah.
Um.
Ford of both going twice.
Five.
Oh, five to Fran.
Five to Fran going once.
Five to friend going twice.
Soul to Fred and five.
All right, Zach.
All right, here you go.
Jahan Dodson,
leaves the Eagles.
In receiving yards and or receptions.
Now, my one question before, just because I was thinking,
when I was thinking about this this morning when I sent it to Julia,
does it need to be solo lead?
Because perceptions you can.
So I don't know what's appropriate here.
What do you think?
So old lead.
You get to decide.
World is your oyster.
Changes how much it's worth.
That's all.
True.
You want to sleep on a little bit?
Go see a movie?
No.
No.
No.
So let's go with solo lead.
So he alone leads in either one.
Either one, not both.
Yeah, either one.
I'll start to bidding on one.
Come on.
One to Zach.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Oh.
Five to Zach.
Six.
Seven.
Seven to Zach.
Strong about it.
Seven is that going once.
Seven is that going twice?
Going twice. Sold. Over to me. Any Eagles player in this game, not just wide receiver,
this is my fault for writing it. Any Eagles player in this game finishes with more receiving yards
on the game than their jersey number. Any Eagles player. And I will start the bidding at one.
One to bow. Two. Two Zach. Johnny Wilson, 89.
Jahan Dotson.
81.
Paris Campbell, 80.
Can a gain 1 14?
Can he gain 1 14?
Your best shot probably.
Will Shipley 26?
28.
28.
Sequant's 26.
That's right.
It'd be funny if they gave it their Shibley from this game.
Game, Taylor, Hertz, a jersey.
Are we at three to Zach?
Yep.
He said two.
I said one.
He said two to Zach.
I'll say three and root for Gain.
Well, three to bow.
Four.
Or does Zach?
Um,
where is that going once?
Or is that going twice?
Got it.
For four?
Yep.
Zach's got four entries.
Right?
Yep.
Correct.
Really trying to get out of here.
No, I'm kind of win.
Trying to win.
All right, we go to Danes' number two item.
As we enter, Fran has 12.
I have 12.
Zach has six turkeys.
This is another complete the sentence than a normal auction.
I like these complete the sentence.
X leads all Eagles position players and targets.
Whoever won item seven, which is Zach, must complete the sentence by choosing any Eagles position player for X and then start the bidding for our normal auction.
So does he double down on Jahan Dotson or does he go elsewhere?
I don't have enough turkeys to double down on Jihad Dotson.
So I want to give one that has a probability enough that you guys are going to bid and use your turkeys,
but one that I'm not going to be sorry if it hits.
That's my quick theory here.
So I will go with,
now you think Paris Campbell's getting elevated,
so that would be interesting for I want to use,
considering Gianni Wilson here.
Let's go with,
let's go with a Naya Smith.
Four.
You have to start the bidding.
Oh, okay.
So then I'm not going to do a Nye Smith.
Okay.
you don't even do one
Let's go Johnny Wilson for one
That's very funny
Two
Two to Fran
You're not going higher than two
Because they have a lot of turkeys
To do to Fran going once
If it was E.J. Jenkins
I would have gone higher than two
I actually think E.J Jenkins would be a sneaky one
That would be a fun one
To be a fun one
I'll go three
I'm not giving you
I'm not giving you
Yeah.
The root is that.
The rate is that going once?
He can take it.
Well, now he's got, but now he's covered well.
I know.
I know.
But if you guys think E.J. Jenkins, I just burned all these turkeys.
Yeah.
Now, now, did that one say a solo lead or we're going to have to figure out the, I guess, I guess this, I guess it's ties inclusive, but.
Yeah.
It does say leads.
It just leads, yeah.
We'll have to figure that out.
All right.
Fred.
All right.
Last one.
Less than 82% of the kickoffs in this game result in touchbacks.
Now the Eagles ranked sixth in the NFL with a touchback percentage of 82.9%.
The Giants are seventh right behind them at 82%.
So that's why it's 82%.
We're going to have a 36 degree day on Sunday.
See if the Eagles stick with Jake Elliott.
Yeah.
we will start the bidding at three.
Three to Fran.
Say I can't bid.
I'll say four.
Four to bow.
I'll go five.
Five to Fran.
Six.
Seven.
Seven to Fran.
Seven to Fran.
Going once.
Going twice.
Sold.
My thinking is...
I think you're going to get that.
Yeah.
My thinking with the weather and then also like I could see this being a game where all the, with all the backups playing.
You want to take any chance you get.
Yeah, I want to see these guys.
Yeah.
Let's see these guys in action.
All right, Zach.
So this is a fun one here.
The Eagles finish the season ranked number one in scoring defense.
And just to kind of, does that clue you in here, they're currently nine points behind the Chargers and two points behind the Chiefs.
Chargers are playing the Raiders.
Chargers are also arresting their backups.
The Chiefs are playing the Broncos.
The Chiefs are, I said the charges were arresting their backups.
Chargers are playing their backups.
Chiefs are playing their backups as well.
Broncos need to win this game.
So the Eagles, and now tied for number one is acceptable.
So just gives you some context there.
And I will start to putting you at one.
Okay.
One in the back.
Two to Fran.
Two to a friend.
Two to a friend going once.
Um, a three.
Nope.
Parade attack.
Three is that going once?
Four.
Four to rent.
I can't bid.
And by the way, I know we have all these advanced metrics now to evaluate defensive performance,
but if you're number one in yards and number one in points, that's pretty historic.
Yeah.
Like that would be, you look at the 91 Eagles defense with Reggie White and Clyde Simmons,
Jerome Brown, Seth Joyner, West Hopkins, Eric Allen, who might be in the Hall of Fame.
that was number one in points and yards.
The last time they finished number one in yards.
91.
All right, you got that.
Yep.
All right, my last submission.
The Eagles defense in this game
combines for more sacks and turnovers
than the points in which the Eagles
are favored in the wild card round,
which we will get a line on in the post game show.
Does that make sense?
According to Bet365.
According to Bet365.
And I will start the bidet
at three.
And that means that I win it for three.
Yeah, good call.
All right.
We go to the end is.
I have nine.
Zach has three.
Fran has one.
Okay.
Item 12.
The Eagles wild card
opponent is the Packers.
And this is a reverse
Dutch auction,
count up from one,
and ends when two people
have yelled swooper out.
So we got that.
And as a reminder,
the Eagles opponent
will be the Packers unless
the Packers beat the Bears on Sunday
and the commanders lose to the Dallas Cowboys.
That game is in Dallas.
Yes.
Does everybody remember Swooper out here?
I do.
All right.
How much are all the Turkey's willing to pay?
The Eagles wildcard opponent is the Packers.
Julia, is everybody ready?
Yep.
All right, Julie, on your mark.
Zach is ready to go.
All right.
And one.
Two.
Super out.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Seven.
Super out.
I'm happy with that.
So you go to minus six.
I think you're going to get that.
Yeah.
I'm happy with that.
But I'm going to have a turkey advantage in the playoffs.
Fran, you have.
An Eagles, Zach, if you want to go, you can go.
No, I'm sure we're going to BS around a little bit.
We have a couple more super chats.
Go ahead.
You've got 15 minutes to get there.
Yeah.
Go ahead.
All right.
I look for seeing everyone tomorrow.
Look for seeing everyone tomorrow.
I won't see you tomorrow.
We'll talk.
Thank you.
We love you.
Great show.
Don't forget your laptop.
Fran, you have any, or all Eagles running backs combined for at least 102 yards.
Drew Locke throws for fewer than 228 yards.
Fewer than 82% of the kickoffs in this game go for touchbacks.
The Eagles finished the season number one in scoring defense,
and the Eagles play the Packers in the Wild Card round.
I think you got a good shot.
Zach, spayed the board a little bit.
Tanner McKee throws for more than 200, or he throws for at least 209 yards.
Bryce Huff leads the Eagles defensive line in snaps.
Jahan Dotson leads or ties for the lead for the Eagles in receiving yards or receptions.
An Eagles player has more receiving yards in the game than his jersey number.
And Johnny Wilson leads the Eagles and targets.
He has three turkeys to carry over.
Fran has six to the negative.
And then I only have the Tanner McKee poo-poo platter.
And the Eagles defense forces as many or more turnovers and sacks combined
than the amount of points in which the Eagles are favored in the wild card round.
And I have nine turkeys to carry over.
How you feel it?
Feel good
certainly
Best outcome for me
would be a Zach win
Yes for sure
You know
I'm probably a little bit
Worried about having
So few turkeys next week
But bank on the Eagles winning
In the in the
In the wild
Yeah
We'll say
And listen
I mean that's why
The best game there is
The layers of strategy
Really just fantastic
Some super chats
To get to
Jaden says
Do you think
They'll let Barclay
Why or why not
I think they won't
because they've announced it.
But, you know, we've talked about it.
We talked about the beginning of the show.
Thank you for joining the show, J-Dade-S.
I would recommend you to go back to the beginning
of the show for the conversation.
But it's a little bit, I understand being disappointed about it.
It would have been a lot of fun to watch him chase it,
but you got to, it makes sense because of everybody you're exposing.
And also, like, you know, there's the idea of like,
oh, well, like, what if you, couldn't you just have given him the first half?
But then it's like, well, then what's the line of,
how close, like, let's say he's 30 yards away.
Exactly, yes.
Like, do you come out for the fair quarter?
What if he's 50 yards away?
You know?
And that, and, you know, those, that's, that's with the story that's written
on all page.ly.com.
And then a nice, uh, a nice super chat from Brendan who's just giving us the money.
We love it, baby.
Shout out to Brendan.
Does he have another comment in there that, that he was trying to get in?
If not, uh, we appreciate it.
Uh, how was, uh, did, did Francis make it to midnight?
He made it to midnight.
Wow.
He started to hit the wall at like 1140.
And I was like,
dude,
like you are so close.
Like you can make it.
And then he got like,
it was like 1155 when he like,
he got that second wind.
Okay.
And he was,
he was good.
So we did like apple juice and champagne glasses.
Nice.
Yeah.
And, uh,
you know,
cheers and everything.
It was,
uh,
it was fun.
How late did he sleep in the next?
He was up at 7.30.
Yeah.
The worst.
Like I was,
I was,
I got up normal time like get to try and get work done because he,
you know,
he was home.
So I,
I like, I get out, I'm like, all right.
I know he's going to be like, building leg goes at my feet and stuff.
And I was like, all right, like, I can get up early.
I can get some work done.
And I was upstairs with coffee for like 40 minutes.
All I hear is like the door open, his door shut, and then and he comes up the steps.
And he walks in like a zombie.
And I'm like, do you want to go back to bed?
No.
I was like, do you want to go lay with mom?
No.
I was like, do you want me to get your breakfast?
No.
And he just laid on the floor.
I'm like, go to go back.
to bed, you're not missing anything.
Go sleep.
It's like Jane. Like, no matter what,
she's just going to get up early. It doesn't matter.
Ridiculous. And she's, if she gets up
without enough sleep, she's furious
in the morning. She's screaming her head off.
Like, Jane, I know you need more sleep
because you're screaming. When you get enough sleep,
you were in the best mood in the world. Like, please.
No, no talking sense.
We got Mario Party on Switch
Christmas, and so we've been playing a lot
of Mario Party. And the thing is, like one round of Mario
party, like that lowest, like the shortest, like the
shortest game you play it's like 90 minutes or so so it's like 730 at night he's off school
and like oh let's play around so he's been up very late like all week and then like was up super
late so the night before so December 30th uh meg and i were like oh let's stay up late we'll watch
we'll watch a movie like we put frances to bed he we played mario party he was up till like
9 30 10 o'clock and then we started gladiator two oh we just watched we let's gladder two on
new year see it was another movie i thought the soundtrack was extremely disappointed
Oh, yeah, I didn't love the soundtrack.
Honestly, like the movie itself, I was, it was a little.
Yeah, I didn't think Paul Mascot was up for it, really.
Yeah, I thought he was okay.
He was okay.
I thought, like, Denzel was good.
And he was like, stealing the scenes in those movies.
I thought I enjoyed it.
It was like, we, it was nice to watch, like, a big movie.
Sure.
Like a big movie, movie.
He enjoyed it.
He was, Francis was, because Meg, like, dropped out, like, oh, you're going to sleep, so that, because he was, he was very upset.
the fact that we were going to try and do anything without him.
We're like, dude, you're staying up tomorrow night and total night.
Like, you can do this.
I just, I don't know.
The story, like, kind of, I thought it was,
I thought it could have, would have benefited from being like an hour longer.
But were they?
I don't want to spoil anything for people who haven't seen it.
We'll get talked about it after.
But I watched four movies this week.
All right.
Mufasa, Cloudator, too.
Yep.
His three daughters.
And didn't watch that.
And between the temples.
Okay.
Didn't watch that either.
I was a little disappointed
Peg Ness migrate
Well which one
Leave Lion King out
Okay
Peck Ness migrate
I would probably migrate
Between the temples
Although I
Okay
Carol Kane was fun
Um
I mean I didn't love Gladiator 2
But I would probably nest
Gladiator 2
Of those three
And then I would peck
His three daughters
Which was
Not bad
And grew on me a little bit
Um
But I don't
I don't have any interest
in watching it again
got it
okay
yeah
gladiator
the first one is like
one
it's one of my favorite movies
I know you're a soundtrack man
oh yeah right
and I mean that soundtrack is outstanding
yeah
this one was just okay
yeah
soundtrack wise for sure
yeah okay
uh
Zach
put your clothes back on
before going to the locker rooms
uh ha ha
you know the one thing I'm excited
for tomorrow show
uh day news put out
some interesting numbers on Dallas Goddard and like the run game with and without him.
Yeah.
I didn't want to use it in the show because he put it out for everybody to see, but I want him to
expand on it.
Well, he hit publish on that, by the way.
So it is.
It is, yes.
It is out there for everybody to read on his Twitter and Blue Sky pages.
But that is very, I thought that was really interesting.
It kind of backs up some of the things that we've talked about, about the tight end and
the run game being very important and Dallas's presence being missed there more than anything
else.
Now, I do think, oh, just to preview this conversation, I'm sure we'll have it with
is. I think there's a case to be made that those numbers
speak more to the people
who are replacing Dallas-Gar-th than Gutter himself.
Yeah, but
I would say that there aren't a lot of tight ends
in football that are as good at
I think Dallas is a legitimate
good blocker.
You know, I don't know, like he might be top ten
in football, maybe, as blocking, you know, in terms of...
Like real tight ends, not just like your co-keets.
Yeah, but you're like, that's like, I would,
if the Eagles,
had a co-keef, like,
I would legitimately, like,
I would legitimately, like, spend draft capital
to get a co-keefed for this,
for this offense, if this is the way they want to play?
If this is the way they want to play.
Yeah, for sure.
Yeah, okay.
Would kill for a co-keef.
Bet you would, am I right?
All right.
That'll do it for this episode of the pH, Y, Eagles podcast.
