Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet365.
And we are here in Studio A, Bo Wolf, Super Bowl champion Vinnie Curry, Jamie Lynch, Fran Duffy to talk about an impressive 2419 win for the Philadelphia Eagles against the Baltimore Ravens.
to hear from Nick Siriani in a little bit.
We're going to hear from Zach Berman live in Baltimore.
We want to hear from you, the fans, to talk about this very impressive Eagles team that has now
won 10 games in a row.
And on an afternoon when they were without Brandon Graham, they were without Devante
Smith, they were without Darius Slay.
In the middle of the game, they lose reblankenship in a game in which Jalen Hurst throws for
118 yards.
And on 10 of their real offensive drives.
drives, six of those drives gained a combined two first downs. Somehow, despite trailing nine
nothing to start this game, they find a way thanks to an unbelievable defensive performance,
another Saquan Barkley closing performance. And right now, Fran Duffy, the Eagles certainly look
like Super Bowl contenders. Yeah, and we felt that if they were able to come out and win this
game with all the things that you just laid out from an injury standpoint, from a talent deficit
standpoint, the Eagles were able to come out and handle business against one of the best teams
in the NFL. And they were able to do it on their own terms. They came out and they were
to assert themselves on the ground. They played excellent defense. They basically shut the Ravens
out in the second half. They made things as difficult as we've seen for Lamar Jackson, really
over the course of this entire season. This is a guy that was one of the top MVP candidates coming
into this game. They did an outstanding job of taking the top off of this past game.
and really limiting them, again, making them erred every single blade of grass.
Really an excellent job.
They shut down Derek Henry for the majority of this game.
Really great job by this Eagles defense.
And then certainly offensively, being efficient, not turning the football over.
It was a great performance on both sides of the ball.
Jamie, this defense.
Let me open a victory here real quick.
Very nice.
One for the air.
The eight weeks in a row we get to do it.
Holding the Ravens to 19 points with just a total garbage time touchdown at the end.
Now Justin Tucker misses about seven points worth of kicks in this game.
but for them to bounce back from those first two drives and corral Lamar Jackson the way he did.
I mean, do you feel like this is the best Eagles defense that you have seen in your mature Eagles fandom?
Wow.
I mean, today was a defensive masterclass.
Jalen Carter is becoming one of the best Eagles I've ever seen with my eyeballs.
The Eagles are a certified wagon.
Vic Fangio, give that man a contract for life.
Best I've ever seen.
The more shots of just his upper,
it like straight from underneath his nostrils.
Right in the nose.
Best of my life.
I mean, it's, yeah, it's hard to argue against it.
You know, some of those great defenses back in the day a little bit,
you know, in Andy's first couple years.
But these are probably better because they never had,
they never had all three.
They always had two of the three and neglected linebacker.
Zach Vaughan and Nacobo Deen were awesome today.
Nicopi Dean played grown man football.
He was tough as nails out there.
today. So they have all three phases clicking. Yeah, it's hard to kind of argue against that.
And Vinnie, we'll get your thoughts on this defensive line, how they played without Brandon
Graham and a bunch of other things. But I do have to start this MVP battle. Lamar Jackson
against your boy. And your boy closes it out with a 25-yard touchdown run goes for 107 yards.
He's now at 1,49-yard rushing on the season. Who gets your MVP vote?
Segu-a.
Listen, listen, we talked about this off the air a little bit.
I feel like, you know, as a whole, the Eagles understood the assignment today.
And they went there to make a statement.
And I feel like that was one of those gutsy wins.
You know, it wasn't as clean or pretty that we want to want it.
But let's talk about that defense.
That defense, you like it gritty like that.
That defense is playing lights out.
right now and they're hot at the right time.
This wasn't like a game against an offense where it's like, oh, it's a rookie quarterback
and Jane Daniels or the Cincinnati.
They don't have T. Higgins and the offensive lines banged up.
It's not their year.
I mean, this was, this offense was on a historic pace.
They were doing outstanding work both in the run game and the past game, number one
in explosive play, number one in DVOA, number one in EPA per play, number one in Red
zone, number one in third down.
I mean, this offense was number one in basically every category.
And to stop them, do what they did against the run, to do.
do what they get against the pass.
You can't say enough about what this Eagles defense did here in this football game.
You talked about it.
The Ravens coming into this game, number one offense in the league by all the advanced metrics.
And if you just stack up all their performances this season, they get a little bump from that last drive, which, by the way, I mean, the missed call on the, the, the millton Williams hold there.
Blighton.
Lamar Jackson was like 132 missed holding.
I mean, you saw, though, it was, that was wow.
But, so you take that into account.
It's their third worst performance of the season by success rate.
It's their fourth worst performance of the season by EPA per drive.
By points per drive, it's the second worst.
By yards per play, it's the worst performance of the season,
just 5.2 yards per play for the Ravens.
And it all happened after the first two drives of the game.
We're so successful for the Ravens.
We have seen this time and time again now from Vic Fangio and this defense,
those in-game adjustments.
And in this game, when you lose, read Blankenship,
And then on a key fourth downplay, Tristan McCollum, of all people, is making a huge heady play in the secondary to break up that pass.
Isaiah Rogers, starting for Darius Slay, plays well in this game.
Quinyon Mitchell leaves for a little bit, and Keel Ringo comes back.
Nicopi Dean has to leave for a little bit.
Like, this defense is, it's so good, and it's hard to believe that it is not just coming straight down from Vic Vanjo the way that he is using all of these guys.
Yeah, I mean, when you get to see the guys that don't usually play, the back has come in and you don't skip a beat, that's when you know you have a well-coached unit.
And that's not just Fikfangio, that is the assistant coaches as well.
You want to give them their flowers.
But I think when you look at this group, the depth, the youth, the youthful exuberance that does show up.
You get to see that time and time against so much speed.
And you mentioned that.
What about the lineback?
The Koothe was awesome like to see the whole group do that on the sideline afterwards.
but I think when you just see this group
continue to excel and kind of gain confidence,
it's just fun to see that come out
on plays like that one where like Cooper
like I don't know what that celebration was,
but those guys all kind of rally around and are like, yeah,
we're going to make this a thing. I hope they do it next week.
Most of the credit goes to the coaches, but on that like play that we're talking about,
Cooper DeGine with one of the most textbook tackles ever.
And Quinehanihan Mitchell earlier when he blew Mark Andrews up,
that's a play that Mark Andrews was thinking about for the rest of the game.
Anytime he turns the corner,
he's like oh quinion perfect tackle shoulder right into the hip and mark andrews is going to be
feeling that one so like you see good coaching at every level with this defense it's unbelievable
now to hold him under a hundred yards rushing yeah that deserves another one of me
who oh my god i'm so i'm so happy for this defense i'm so i'm so happy i'm so happy for this
defense because where we thought was looking a little shaky they heard i think he heard the voices
You know, and he got guys in great positions to make plays and guys are executed at a high level.
But then you said the Eagles, the offensive staff, like, understood the assignment.
Like defensively, you're the defensive line.
You're going in.
You got to corralimar Jackson.
You got to handle Derek Henry.
You see Nolan Smith flying around every single play.
Josh Sweat, Milton Williams played a season high, probably career high and snaps here in this football game.
And Jalen Carter played with his hair on fire.
The whole group, just you could see the way that they were challenged in this game.
and you knew coming in that they took it seriously yes they did yes they did take it serious
Milton Williams was all over the field today I thought he had a really nice play uh so coming into
this game back to your point about the hold the Ravens had the most offensive holding penalties
in the NFL yeah some big penalty disparity in this game which we can get to eagles had eight
penalties uh ravens had four and a bunch of them coming at the end but i want to talk to about
the defensive line vini because with no brand and graham like how is this group gonna gonna spread the
snaps, how are they going to get pressure? And they
won the battle at the line of scrimmage in this game.
And they did not really rotate.
They just played those three guys.
Now, this may not be updated
until the very end, but according to
True Media, 59 snaps on defense
for the game. Josh Schwett,
38 snaps, Jalick's Hunt, 34
snaps, and Nolan Smith
46 snaps. And Nolan Smith
in particular was all over the place
in this game and had a key sack. I felt like
has the game got all? He got faster.
Yeah. You know, you've seen, you know, been in the edge, you know, applying pressure.
And then let's just, let's give Hunt got a half a sack today, man.
You got it.
He got his first one.
Maybe you got a congratulations getting on the board.
And I thought he did a phenomenal job.
I thought he was a whole.
I thought, you know, he was a big part of today's success.
Jalen Carter played every snap again, Bo.
Jeez.
Milton only played 31 snaps.
Oh, no, he got.
So Jalen Carter played every snap before coming off the field in the final play.
So he played 70 of 71.
Okay.
So he played every snap.
They basically played every snap.
Quinion Mitchell or sorry, Milton Williams,
team high five pressures on 26 rushes,
a 19% pressure rate.
Wow.
All of them came in one-on-one.
So that speaks to Jalen Carter,
drawing those double teams
and creating those opportunities
for the guys up front.
Jaylen Carter was just, he's a force.
He just makes everybody else's life easier.
He was, God, I mean, that guy's incredible.
He really is just like one of the best defensive linemen
I've seen in Eagles history, no offense.
That early on, that TFL he had on the Zayflowers end around, he just gets up field so quickly.
Man, that was crazy.
He was on Zayflowers, three yards in the backfield as he got the ball, the point of contact.
I'm actually, guys, you guys think, you know, clean suite with Coach of the year, defense's rookie year.
Apparently, Jared Verst had a pretty good stat stuffing day today.
I do think that Quinyan's going to need a couple picks here.
He needs an order to get.
In order to get that rookie there.
And I also, we can, you know, unpack the Nick Siriani of it all.
I don't think he's going to win Coach of the Year.
I think that would be a surprise, don't you think?
Coach of the year.
I mean, if they win, if they close the season winning 15 in a row,
yeah, maybe.
Yeah, Coach of their tip typically goes to like the plucky team that no one expected to be here
and they're, you know, like the Dan Quinn in Washington kind of situation, right?
Like that's typically.
That's typically who gets.
O'Connell is a good one.
But if you win 15 straight,
close the year.
It's tough to argue with.
It's wild.
They won 10 games in a row.
And this game is so interesting because so many things go against them in this game.
Now, yes, they do get the Justin Tucker missed kicks, which Eagles fans are not accustomed to.
But the penalty disparity, huge in this game.
Three Ravens fumbles that the Eagles do not recover.
A.J. Brown doesn't get a target in the entire second half of this game.
That's, despite going for 66 yards in the first half.
As we talked about, Jalen Hertz, not a super productive game.
passing the ball. But, but Fran, I do think that this game, the key play of it to me,
that sort of paved the way for that eventual Sequin touchdown was they have not moved the ball
in the second half. Yeah. The third and long, Jalen Hertz hits Dallas Goddard on that crossing
route, picks it up. And from there, they move down, they go downhill and get that touchdown.
Yeah, it was after that play. So Dowell, you hit Dallas on a third and seven for nine yards.
So that was on third and seven. Very next play, Seekwan Barkley goes for 14 yards. Then you have
Jalen Hertz on the design QB run, the QB counter read for 11 yards,
and then Saquant scores a touchdown on the very next play.
So that cascading effect of being able to convert on third down.
You mentioned the two previous drives, they went three and out.
So you go three and out, three and out coming out of the locker room.
This is that this team has been so good in the second half of games.
You run into a good Baltimore defense early on in the third quarter.
They force you to punt on those first two possessions.
You think it's going to happen again.
You convert there on third.
And then that's just kind of open the floodgates and the run game is able to take you the rest of the way.
I apologize.
doing a good job holding me to account.
Eight in a row, they have won.
They are 10 and 2.
They have not won 10 games in a row.
10 and 2.
Good job by the chat.
Yeah.
You got to call me out.
You got to start a scout.
Absolutely.
Let's go to the super chat.
Since the chat is on fire here for this game,
Claude DeVise says,
what does the Eagles defensive line have to do to get a holding call?
It's unbelievable.
Jalen Carter especially was.
He must have been held eight times this game.
Like one time he was just straight up bear hugged.
Like brutal.
Yeah, I don't know what was going on there.
It was shady.
Whoa.
And then Roheet says, why does the passing game look so bad without Devante Smith?
Shouldn't need two top 10 wide receivers for a competent passing game.
Say, whoa.
You know, you, you got that in the back field.
Yeah.
That's the thing is you would have thought, you know, we keep saying like there's going to come a time when the Eagles are going to have to lean on their passing game.
Yeah.
Like that's going to happen eventually.
You would have thought this was that game, and they still didn't have to.
In those situations, they had to do it a couple of times.
And that's not getting confused.
No DB just stick A.J. Brown 101.
Right.
And I would be very curious to hear what you say about the film friend this week,
about if the Ravens did anything in the second half in particular to stop A.J. Brown from getting the ball.
But, I mean, at the same time, you say for them to be able to get this win,
win their eighth game in a row without Devante Smith,
If they know that he's coming back eventually, you feel pretty good.
Yeah.
And look, Tony Romo did a good job on the broadcast of pointing out the facts that, like,
hey, at the end of the first half, the Eagles had success getting AJ Brown in the football.
There were like three or four plays that went for chunk gains, 14 yards,
a couple 15 yarders or 17 yarder where it was quick inbreakers off play action,
RPO's in the middle of the field, get him the ball fast.
You didn't really see that, obviously, in the second half,
where it seemed like more things were downfield, more relying him to kind of get open on his own.
And that's really kind of looking at the past game, the inconsistency started to pop up.
And really it was that drop back to Dallas.
That was one of the only completions off a pure dropback in this game.
Everything else, it felt like it was some kind of move the pocket, play action, RPO, get the ball out of Jayland Hertz's hands fast.
But look, I think when you look at it from a film standpoint, I will be interested to see, did they do anything to try and take AJ away?
Did they divert coverage that way?
That was something of I'll certainly be keeping an eye on tomorrow.
The thing Rich and I were talking about at the garage pregame,
it seemed like all the success offensively kind of swung
when they started going to the under center RPO stuff
in the second quarter.
I thought they were much better under center today
than they weren't out of shotgun.
So I'll be interesting to see if anything pops out to you on that.
A number standpoint, yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, Jill Hart's completed 11 passes.
That's wild.
That's it.
Five to A.J. Brown, three to Dallas Goddard,
two to Sequin Barclay, one to John Dock.
I'll be curious to see how many times you're doing the second half
to answer, what is it up here?
When you see the...
Rohee.
To answer Rodi's question.
I mean, at the same time, you got to understand,
when Sequan Buckley's on fire like this,
you know, that's when the word team come into play.
You got to feed the man.
Well, also, I mean, just the flow of this game was such that...
Sure.
They only, I mean, they barely had the ball in the third quarter.
They had two, three and outs.
And then after that, they get the one touchdown drive
when he does throw the ball a little bit.
And then after that, it's that very long.
11 play drive when you're just trying to get a field goal and then just leaned it on
Saquem Barker to be the closer as you have talked about.
And when you talk about, just the bubble back a couple, I'm just thinking about the game.
When we talk about the way the defense shut down, Derek Henry, is it me or did the Eagles
defense look so fast that my, Derek, like he didn't look like himself.
Like, they were sworn.
I don't want to say it was running in slow motion.
I'm not going to, you know, not taking it to the street, but he just didn't look.
gas explosive. And it was right from the jump, too. It was like, you know, they were all over Henry
right away. I don't know if that's great coaching by Vic. I saw a tweet from Zach saying, you know,
Vic Fangio, you should see the game plans. Like, not only is he an upgrade, but he's week in and
week out, giving them a great opportunity to win games. And to your point, Derek Henry didn't
have anything going. And Lamar was held in check in the run game right from the jump. It was really
impressive. I just went to look it up. I was curious. Now, these numbers,
could change, obviously, after
they go through the data a couple times, but
three completions off RPO's
for Jalen Hertz, seven off play
action. So 10 of 11
completions were off RPO or play action.
There was only on the one
there. Here we go.
And by the way, as you see
on the screen there, if you want to get involved
in just the Sequin
love of it all, now is the time to do so.
Black Friday deals still going
through tomorrow. Check out the store
on store.
Network.com.
You get that Sequan shirt, the Air Sequequan,
all that good stuff.
Now is the time.
Now is the time to do it.
John also has a Super Chat who says,
I will Super Chat 5 for every Vinnie Sequin
within reason.
I bought the T-shirt and signed up as a diehard.
So we appreciate the support.
John, Vinnie, John, trying to just train this guy back again.
We've got to have the whole Philadelphia in that T-shirt, man.
We try to get the man to win the MVP.
We've got a campaign now.
Come on, Super Chat.
Somebody's
Black Friday sell.
Sequel!
Is 2,000 yards enough?
If he doesn't break the record
and he gets to 2000.
And the Eagles,
look, their schedules kind of cake here.
If they're,
let's say,
13 or 14 win team,
and he's at 2,000 yards.
It's hard to argue.
I guess we're really cheering
against Josh Allen.
Then we're going to need
T-shirts that say,
Mr. 2000.
Like the Bernie Mac,
Mr. 3.
I think when Seqon gets on the podium
to,
accept the word. He's got to thank you first,
but I mean, you've been leading the campaign since week one.
I'm telling you. Telling you, man.
Let's get them shirts moving, though.
All right, we're going to hear from Nick Siriani and
Zach Berman and all that stuff in just a little bit,
but first a word from our sponsors.
We will start.
You saw Jamie crack one already.
And when you're enjoying an eight-game winning streak,
a 10-game winning streak, whatever it is,
the best way to do it is by sucking them back with your buddies.
That's right. We're talking about Miller Light because a lot has changed over the years.
But one thing that hasn't is the great taste of Miller Light.
Another thing that hasn't changed is that it's less filling.
So what is the best thing about the original light beer?
Well, Miller Light sparked the debate in 1975 and we still haven't settled it.
But the good news is you don't have to choose.
You get both with Miller Light.
So if you have to sprint up seven flights of stairs just to get to your studio and you need a little break on like the fourth landing,

Well, winter is no longer coming. It is here, and that means sickness is also bearing itself
behind it. So make sure you're stopping into your local right aid today and talking to your
pharmacists about how you can help protect yourself against pneumonia. Adults 50 and older are now
eligible for the vaccine. It was previously 65 and older, but the CDC has lowered the age
recommendations to 50 plus. And millions of people get pneumonia every year, according to the CDC.
It's a respiratory illness. And in fall and winter, the germs that cause respiratory disease
typically spread more in the community. So now is a great time to get vaccinated and help
yourself say healthy. Some people who get pneumonia have mild symptoms, but other
experience serious complications.
It's usually no cost with insurance at your right aid.
So getting vaccinated is easy.
Just walk into your local right aid or schedule online at rightaid.com.
And unsure of what vaccines you may need, just ask your pharmacist for a personal recommendation.
So stop by your local right aid today.
I'd like to take one minute just to shout out a player who I don't believe that we have discussed a single time during this 10-game, eight-game winning streak.
should we guess
sure
offers the defense
neither
Brandon man
braden man
he's right in his name
brand man
two big punts in this game
down inside the five yard line
yeah
I mean the one
there was a long time
where like eagles fans
could not stop complaining about the punter
brand man's settled it down
he's done a nice job
I mean the one
set them up for the field
to flip the field
got them the ball back
and plus territory set up the first touchdown drive
yes
I just want to give him a little shout-out.
Yeah.
Good to show him some love.
He's been good.
12th game this season.
We haven't mentioned him once.
Well, I think it was like week six or seven when I didn't realize he does a lot of the kickoffs.
I think he also came up.
Oh, there we go.
Yeah.
I was like, wait, who that was this guy doing kickoffs?
That's how much I pay attention to kickoffs.
Super chat from Brian who says, why do they keep running Avanti Maddox out there each week?
He keeps getting burned.
Is there no one else who can play Dime Corner?
That was a Cicay-Tack BS 1 early in the game.
The first third down to the game, Milton Williams.
Was it a Milton Williams sack or is it?
Josh Swetzer.
It was a Josh Swetzer.
Very nice sack by Josh Schwed.
Huge play.
And it gets called back on a pretty tickey tack play.
Yep.
For Avanti Maddox that, like, if you're going to call that one,
why don't you call the one on Hamilton later?
And Goddard later at the end zone.
But listen, Avanti Maddox has been a liability for the Eagles,
went on the field and dime.
I think in this game, it's probably, it's hard to believe you would take him off.
with no sleigh, but I feel like
once Slay gets back, I would
like to see Isaiah Rogers on the field
inside as that six
defensive back. That was one of the things, you know,
back in the summer when they were cross-training
Quignon Mitchell inside in the slot, or not
cross-train when they were playing him in the slot,
we thought like, all right, as
Quinnion started to move back outside, will we start to see
more Isaiah Rogers in the inside? And they
didn't really do that to my memory, right?
So, I mean, he hasn't really played inside
at all. Now,
is it too late in the game to try and
if you can cross train them there and get him some of those reps maybe but uh the other one would
be cody brown yeah the thing is is like i know he played there in the nickel in certain packages
last year i don't love the matchup of sidney brown going up against against receivers in the inside
uh i think you probably put cj garner johnson there instead that would be the yes that would be the
thing would be if you put cj there and then you put brown at safety it's a good point yeah what did you
make what do you make a mccallum getting these snaps over sidney brown i don't we talked about
last week. I don't know if it's a, it might sound silly. Like, is it a left safety, right safety thing?
I don't know. It's a good question.
McCollum had a really impressive preseason. I mean, you were all over. You did like, I was all
Tristan and McColland done. I'll tell you, maybe that equity from preseason is carrying over.
He was impressive. And then John's, he's got another one. He's like, well. And Benjamin,
another super chat says, that's my running back. We love the super chats rolling in. Fantastic.
Vinny, back to the defense, because they were not rotating.
You know, they had Charles Harris in this game.
I don't believe that Charles Harris played a snap, at least not when it mattered.
And so they're just rotating those three guys.
We didn't even see a ton of Zach Bonn as a defensive end.
I think we saw a couple snaps where it was Milton Williams out there in those heavy packages.
That's true, the end, yeah.
But Jailix Hunt, this is the biggest game of his career.
Yeah.
The stakes of the game, but also, you know, he's one of three guys playing on the edge.
You like what you see from Jailix.
Absolutely.
man he rose up to the occasion
and as you know
birds fans it's all we ask for you to play
hard and rise up to the occasion do you know what I mean
don't tuck your tail when a hard game
or this type of game or this type of environment
approaches so to see him go out there and ride
to the occasion and I know the boys just happy for him
if I don't want to put the card ahead of the horse here
but if this kid ends up becoming a player
I mean what what a like
I want to call it a steal but like
a safety
converted to just out of nowhere and you know what he doesn't he doesn't look like that right like he's got
he's got a he's got a pro NFL body he looks like he belongs yeah he's usually all you can ask for
the first couple of games we told me he was like yeah man I used to play safety
like I thought he was messing with me man I ain't no way it sounds like me yeah I just
play safety man is like yeah sounds like Beau try to be Kirk cousins
yeah that's my white guy voice yeah it's like the Chappelle yeah
Man, but yeah.
I like, we don't really see player development no more.
And I like the way he's developing.
I like the way Wash is developing him, man.
And today's show.
Well, and you talk about player development and a guy in the same system.
I know we already talked about him,
but Nolan Smith, the jump from year one to year two for him,
even from like the summer to right now for Nolan.
Remember Nolan Smith was getting serious running the fourth preseason game
or the third preseason game this year?
Like, he's been awesome.
And he's all over the place.
That was my guy on defense, too.
I told you guys, I said he was going to make the biggest joke.
And, you know, I went to, I actually got to see them two practices.
And now I was just like, oh, yeah, he got it.
Yeah, he got it.
He's about to click for him.
And then, you know, to have two of your best friends out there with him
and makes some things a lot easier, one of them getting a double team, you know,
so you know you're going to get a one-on-one, and you got Nicole Dean playing out of his mind.
So that helps.
How do you feel about the no gloves, though?
for Nolan.
That's old school, man.
You know, you know, you know, what else you do?
Flesh ain't really wear gloves, and he used to blame,
I'm from the country.
All right, man, you got it, bro.
All right.
Well, I ain't from the country,
and I'm not about to jam my finger, so.
I would have to think Jaylor Carter's trending towards the first team
all pro here.
Yeah, yeah, he's got to be.
I mean, Dexter Lawrence is unbelievable.
Probably, like, the actual, like,
sack numbers are not crazy because he gets so much attention.
And he gets held on every other play.
Yeah, I won't get you in all.
all pro though is the only thing yeah it's tough yeah think you need about six i don't think he i i think
i think there's a i mean a good case that he deserves one of those two spots right but i don't know
that he's going to get it that it'll be i think it'll be tough this year it's one of those like oh
yeah he follows yeah see it's so then the reputation gets him in next year so i was also impressed
with you know you saw that that opening drive it was the first or second drive where there was the
long completion to zay flowers right um and the the the thing you always hear about when you prepare for
Lamar Jackson is like you got to play two snaps, right?
You got to play the initial snap and then you got to play the him running around and sticking in coverage.
I know, Jamie, you brought up that crazy stat of like Lamar Jackson was, we're 24 and 1 or whatever it is against NFC teams.
Yeah.
Because those guys don't see him.
And like just as this game goes on, they don't get beat by those second reaction plays really.
Yeah.
It's just so impressive, the defense.
Yeah, this game, Rich mentioned it in the pregame show.
He was kind of, I forget what the term.
he used but he was like you're going to have to deal with some Lamar Jackson beatdown plays
and just be able to get up and respond immediately after it because those are inevitable it's
going to happen he pulled out two or three today where you're just like damn Lamar you know but
they got right back up and they responded they didn't like sink in and pal they they answered
you know right after the play and this defense and Vic Fangio really it's unbelievable and again
against we we can't I know we've already talked about it but we can't
like ignore the fact that this offense again,
Barnard, the best in the league this year.
Most big was being measuring out as
one of the best offenses in recent memory.
Outstanding offense, run game, past game,
and they were able to limit them the way they did today.
Cooper, he picked Derek Henry up and slammed him into the turf.
Yeah.
Like, what the hell?
That doesn't happen.
People, I refuse to do that today.
I'm not doing it.
We got to give one line.
It's the only one not doing it.
And Lamar missed a couple throws
There was like the open Isaiah likely one
There was Mark Andrews one he missed
But I'm really
The one that could almost change the game
Was that one to Nelson
Finalea
Yeah that one
Ooh save by the sideline
And the ground
Yeah that was Avanti again
Yeah
Yeah
He had a couple steps
And Zay Flowers
You know I follow him
Because nobody cares
But I'm on my fantasy team
So I follow him week to week
Big humble brag there
But he's explosive as hell
Like when you get him in the open field
So kudos to the secondary too
We talked about the linebackers the defensive line
But the secondary did some really nice tackling the day too
It was just all three phases of the defense were complete
It was one clip bonnet that was shown during the game
The communication in the secondary was awesome
You know
It's man this defense
And again that like on that play
Like for Trista McCollum who's played 15 snaps all year
On defense to come in and be able to execute that way
It speaks to the coaching
By the way, really weird quote from John Harbaugh regarding Deontay Johnson and lack of playing time.
He said, I'm going to have to look into that and find out what happened.
Yikes.
I mean, he just doesn't want to give an answer, right?
Yeah, I'm sure it was about because Bateman got hurt.
Bateman left the game.
So it's like, oh, this would be the opportunity.
He saw the sign doing it.
Can't throw that way.
So Derek Henry, 19 carries for 82 yards, 4.3 yards.
a carry and I think there were like three big runs.
Didn't feel like 82 yards.
I think it was three of seven or more, but I'm not,
I'm not sure we'll find out for a swooper.
Yeah, but like the the physicality that this group plays with,
they don't miss tackles, but also the speed that you talked about, Vinny,
like aesthetically, it's just such a fun defense to watch.
I feel like ever since we talked about how many tackles they was missing.
And that, what was that four weeks ago?
Oh, you like that was that end of the buy?
Yeah, yeah.
And then I told you all, you know, we talked about, you know,
if they can get the, the miss tackles down a single digit,
man, those guys is playing fast.
And to see them swarm in on day, Henry today was amazing.
And they're the youngest defense in the league, if I'm not mistaken.
Something like that.
If you, if you, Factor in the snaps played, yeah, I believe so.
All right.
Let's go to Nick Siriani in Baltimore.
But what brought.
was we got through the interior of it with the way we blocked it.
We had Jordan on that one pulling.
He did a good job getting through.
We sealed it off on the front side.
And then you have two receivers.
When plays break for big ones, there's receivers doing something good on that.
Like Covey last week against L.A.
getting the block, A.J. had a good block last week against L.A.
And then this was Jahan and Paris running off,
which is something that is not like you don't you know what you run off and now the the the running back can run to space instead of them getting a block there so that's something we talk about a lot so paris and jehan run off
sayquan can run away from the pursuit from the inside with his speed and then those guys finish blocks over there so that's just good team football um really good job really proud of those guys i always get excited when guys run off that's something we said that for and it was cool to go and graduate i got a little bit of
bit of a warning for going down too far, but when those guys make plays like that, of making
plays and, you know, Sequin's going to get all the credit for that play as he should, but it started
with the offensive line and finished with the receivers.
To be down nine and rebound and recover, what did you make of that today?
Yeah, you know, we're a resilient team, but nine in the first quarter, you know, a lot of football
left to play.
So resilient team, done a lot of different things.
We were so determined team.
I think that was noticeable all week
of how determined this football team
as, you know, when there could be distractions
with holidays.
Thanks again, it's a great holiday.
But it's still a distraction in our eyes at the beginning.
You know, we enjoy the rest of the day,
but they were so locked into that.
And then it could be a distraction of coming back from
afternoon off.
But these guys didn't miss a beat.
That really shows you the leadership of this football team.
of just being locked in and being hungry, being humble,
and this was a good win for us.
This is a good football team that we just played with a lot of good players.
I can't tell you how much respect I have for their coaches,
their coaching staff, you know, both sides of the football,
special teams-wise, everything.
Coach Harbaugh is a great coach, obviously.
It's been a great coach in this league for a long time.
And so that was a challenge, and that's a good win for us to go home with.
Along those lines, I guess, what did the defense,
what did you learn about the defense in a matchup like this against that?
tough physical.
We showed some clips of us against Derek Henry in 2020,
you know, because obviously he's a big-time player with a great offensive line.
And so we, you know, and he had some good runs.
There's no doubt.
But, you know, we just kept coming and were resilient effort to the football.
They were very determined to show how physical we were.
You could see Chauncey coming up and laying some hits on them.
there that were really finishing off hits legally and, you know, we got good pressure.
And obviously, Lamar is such a good football player, was able to get out of some things,
but we had some good consistent pressure against a good offensive line with our defensive line.
And so it was muddy.
We made them, we forced them to go the long way, you know, and they had some explosives.
And that's going to happen against a good team and especially against a quarterback like Lamar.
But made them go the long way, which was huge.
And so that's what you saw there with our defense today.
Yeah, sequence of punting on fourth and two, pinning them back, forcing the three and out, going down the score.
What did that do for the game we feel?
I think it's just so critical of the things that we talk about all the time.
We spend so much time on backed up on plus 50 punting.
We show it.
We talk about it so much.
We show all the ones from college in the week.
We show all the ones from the NFL in the week because we know how critical it is.
If you can back a team up and you can get a stop,
that usually equals points.
And so it was a great, you know,
Brayden, you know, they didn't catch their balls and we caught ours.
You know, that's a big deal.
Like, that's like high school football.
That's something I learned from my brother so long ago of like,
just catch the punt, right?
And our guys caught the punt.
You know, Covey did a great job of coming up on some puns that were short
and caught them.
And that's going to,
that's something that's not going to be looked at, like, unless I say this,
in the statute.
But Covey comes up and catches a punt that's kind of short.
and saves us one of them
I thought it was like 14 yards field position
and another one was like 26 yards field position
y'all can go re-look at that
and then they let some puns hit
now why did they let some puns hit
because we got such good rush down the field by Sydney
and and keely
where they kind of had it was a little messy down there
so they let them hit and we got them pinned down inside the one
to me that is such good detail of our special teams
and the things that they were doing hats off you know we had a couple
penalties on special teams and
we're going to be sick about those. But Coach Clay did such
a good job of getting those guys ready.
And that's a huge deal
because we got to stop. We got another stop.
I think both of them led to points.
So great job by Braden. He'll get
the, he'll get the stat line
that says, hey, pinned him inside the
five once and at the
one another time. But
really good job by Sydney.
Really good job by
Keeley to go down there and force
number 16 to not catch that.
punt and get that thing down in. Those are huge. Those are things that you get so excited about as a football coach of how important that is, you know, in the field position battle. That's not going to get looked at a lot. But I'm really excited. And we talked about that after the game.
I'll come back. I'll come back. I'll come back. You got to go back. By that time the Ravens got back, the game was essentially over. What's it say about your team to be able to kill that much?
Tough, physical. You know, and that's against a tough physical football.
team. You know, we were able to convert on a fourth and one. We were able to convert on a third and seven, get them to use all their timeouts.
You know, and that was our thought in that process. We were going to run, run, run there. Because if we were in, at first we weren't in field goal range.
We got ourselves into field goal range and we got that first, first down or we got that first good run by Sequin.
So great job by the offense line because in those scenarios, it's going to be really muddy because they're going to load the body.
they're going to try to do different things.
And so good job by Kellan calling it there of the runs that he called in those scenarios.
And good job by our guys executing.
And then Saquan hits a crease and it gets us the first down.
We get to a fourth and one.
You know, what happened on the third and one gave me a lot of confidence to go for it on the fourth and one.
And so good job there of those guys getting that push off the ball on that first quarterback sneak.
Now, that was like a full yard.
I thought we kind of got it there.
They didn't give us a spot.
And it's hard to see.
And it gave me the confidence to go for it on the second one, you know, as I was debating it,
because that is a debatable one.
Because you debate that and say, man, we go up 12 points.
That's a big deal.
Now they can't drive, you know, get a field goal, get an onside kick or get a stop,
and now be able to beat you on the last one.
So the guys that gave me a lot of confidence, the Chaunce, he's like, just trust us.
We'll stop them if we don't get it.
And then Devante is like, I love what Devante tells me to just go for it.
We're going to get that quarterback sneak.
Devante has nothing to do with us getting the quarterback's league, even when he's on the field.
But he's like, coach, go for it.
And you know what?
I love that about our team, that they have confidence in each other.
I have confidence in them.
They have confidence in each other.
And that's not, again, that goes back to that's not blind faith.
That's faith based off of, you know, results of what we've done.
And so they gave, I was close to going for it.
I was hesitant a little bit to go up 12.
And then Devante and Chaunty kind of nudged me over the edge right there to go for it.
good job by our offensive line. Lane looks over at me, signals first down, gives me a thumbs
up. Man, we got a tough offensive line. We got a tough defense line. We got a tough football team.
Tom said a big win over a big team. Last year's straight down. You stretched it out term
well. Why do you feel like the way you're reacting to these different wins differently? Last year's
over. We don't care about last year. We learned what we needed to learn from from last year.
and what we needed to do off of that.
And this year is this year
is a different group of guys.
This is a different team that's jelling and meshing
on all cylinders right now.
But with that being said,
you're only as good as your last game.
We've got a big game coming up this weekend.
I'm singularly focused,
but in that realm,
do you also let them know that if you stay that way
the character of being the number one seed is there,
not at all?
I'm boring.
We're going to be thinking.
about the Carolina Panthers. We're going to enjoy this one.
And then we'll think about the Carolina Panthers.
What I've learned in this league is if you look back, you know, you're climbing this
mountain. And I know I've used this analogy a lot, but you're climbing this mountain.
If you look back and you're climbing a mountain, you look down, you're going to slip.
If you look too far up, you're going to slip.
All that our focus is is on one game at a time.
We can't control anything else that happens.
And so, you know, our job is to control what we can control.
That doesn't make for good press.
That doesn't make for good stories.
We're boring.
But the monotony, the boring, the day-by-day grind is what gets results.
And so we'll continue to keep narrow focus and focus on this next game.
My work-order run game, you talked about a lot.
It wasn't just a touchdown.
You know, Safeone went for 14, then I think was jailing for 11, then the touchdown.
You talked about physicality, obviously that's part of it.
Do you guys hold stuff for the fourth quarter?
Is there some that you talk about in a four-minute defense?
Because you're going to get different defenses on four-minute off, you know, in four-minute,
then you'll get on first and second down.
So every scenario is called for a little bit different things.
You're going to get a little bit different stuff in the red zone.
You're going to get a little different stuff in four-minute.
You're going to get a little different stuff throughout the game in different scenarios.
So that's part of our situational football that we think a lot about.
Jalen did a good job.
Hey, Bob.
you know, just can't say enough good things about, you know, how Jalen managed that four-minute.
And you'll say, well, game manager, that's all bullshit.
Like, Jalen played an awesome game.
And his stats are going to say, right, we didn't throw it a lot.
We were 11 and 19.
He had 118 yards.
But that guy made runs when he was, when he needed to make runs.
He made good checks.
He managed the game in a four-minute to take the clock down to use as much time as he can.
man, you know, Jalen, you know, we haven't thrown it a lot in the fourth quarter in the past month and a half of the season.
So, you know, Jalen's stats aren't going to say that.
But Jalen deserves, you know, Sequin deserves to be in an MVP consideration.
Jalen Hertz deserves to be an MVP consideration because of how clean of football he's playing.
Like, look at his quarterback rating throughout the last month and a half of the season.
Like Jalen Hertz is a winner playing great football.
He may not have the stats, but because his team's winning in the fourth quarter.
he doesn't have, he doesn't, he doesn't get to, to make those stats, but he's just done such a good job.
AJ could be, you know, as a guy, we have multiple guys that are, that could be in consideration of that.
Our offensive line, I wish they could give an offensive line, uh, MVP, because our offensive line could be on that.
Um, and so I just can't say enough good things about how Jalen played in that football game.
Even though the stat sheet's not going to reflect that because, oh, Jalen was 11 and 19.
Yeah, he was freaking on.
He was on to how he managed a game on fourth quarter.
He was on about the runs that he made.
He was on in the scrambles he made.
He was on in the checks that he's made.
He was on the third down conversions that we hit
and the passes that he hit.
This dude's a winner.
And, yeah, he continues to play good football through our stretch.
All right.
Thanks, folks.
I'm a little gasped up, Nick Siriani.
Just a bit.
Man, I, listen.
As it deserves to be.
Like, this game right here, shit, I'll be gassed up, too.
This was it right here.
This was it.
When you look at the Eagle schedule, though, right,
There's not take you hold on.
We look at the 34th game around.
Yeah.
It's cake.
We look at the schedule and this right here was like that, that art.
Let's see.
It was a real measuring stick game.
Does this team really belong in Super Bowl conversations?
Go on the road.
Well, that leading into this game, that's what it was, right?
And as you talked about, after this, it's Carolina, Pittsburgh at home, which is a good test to a defense.
But then it's Dallas, the Giants.
Unsurians.
And another bad team, right?
Like, this was the last chance to really prove.
that they belong and they did it yeah the lions watch this game today intently and you know look i'm
sure that number one seed indoors with jared goff and his tiny little doll hands it was very important to
them and they saw that win today and they just if the packers beat the lions on thursday night
let's go jordan luff the eagles will control their own destiny for the number one seat that's who
that's a world of difference ford field and goff versus coming into the link in late january
the Eagles having won their 45th game in a row.
That's the thing is they would also need to continue to win out.
Right.
Sure.
Yeah.
But then it also evens things up.
Correct.
Because otherwise the tiebackers don't go their way.
It's that Packers game that makes a big difference.
And they have to play the Vikings and the Bears still.
Like that NFC North.
The Niners as well.
Yeah.
And I know like the bears kind of suck.
But you saw what they did on Thanksgiving.
They can still hang in a game and give you a battle.
So that NFC North is a slug fest right now.
So kind of feel kind of.
of good about their chances to get this one seed.
With this being a measuring stick game, though,
Vinny, is that something that in the locker room that you guys,
you felt like players, maybe not in the locker room,
but maybe at night, two or three, you guys at dinner,
you guys talk about that?
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Especially, you know, with all the MVP talks and, listen,
like you said, they're the number one offense in football.
Yep.
You know, so to be the best, you got to beat the best, you know,
so they say.
And.
Come on.
Give us a word for that.
I was going to start doing that, you know, like Big Plean would say.
And that's why this game was so important, you know, to the guys.
And, you know, Doug Henry versus, you know, Sequinus.
It felt like I just a heavyweight match.
You know, you got to do it like the Sacon Barclay versus, you know.
The creamer, yeah.
You know, and for the Gene with the pickup and slam.
You know, just like the place, like, I don't.
Oh, man.
So the way Nick came in on hype like that, I probably would have been more hype.
So apparently, Howie ended the locker room, according to some reporters,
and requested Michael Jackson right away.
And apparently the locker room was going nuts.
What?
What are the chances that?
I have lots of follow-up questions.
I think it's pretty, haven't they been listening to, like, pretty on thing?
Yeah, something has been, like, playing, I guess, a lot, and it's how he's request.
Does he be, you know what?
We're going to have to ask it.
I don't know this.
Howie Moonwalk?
like Michael Jackson gets the people going
yeah I mean a little problem
yeah good for Howie I guess
I got some follow-ups
he's the king of pop though
yeah art and artist
yeah
he's how is he going to get on the dance floor
you got to separate the art from the artist
in the situation
that's up to you
it's up to the listener
I'd rather get back to the wrestling which is
not problematic at all.
Yeah.
Do you guys want to hear, let's see, let's hear what Jalen has to say.
Maybe we'll pop in and then pop out if it's not given.
But Jellon's been better on the mic lately.
Nice purple suit.
Now he's going Prince, which is much better.
I think anytime we're able to get the sticks moving, it's big, you know,
and I'm proud of how everyone showed up when the opportunity presents itself.
Think of, you know, just time on task and building trustful guys.
You know, I commend to hire for the big-time catch he had earlier in the game.
Because I've had a practice rep with him where it didn't end well.
And so just being able to learn from those moments, build, you know, continue to build that chemistry.
So I'm not just a trust when everybody's at the right spots and what they're doing what they're supposed to do.
And I was proud of that.
You know, even Covey, you know, he stepped in.
Sure, sure we didn't connect on it and we didn't make the play, but he was at the right spot.
You know, as a quarterback, that's all like that.
Hax for it now, just finishing.
Was that the conversation to get to AJ on that drive?
What did you guys see to turn to it?
I wasn't included in any conversation in that regard,
but you know who AJ is.
You know, he's a hell of a player.
He's been at, and any time he has a ball in his hands,
he has an opportunity to make a play.
On the last touchdown drive,
how important is it for both, you know,
you and Sequan to be like a factor in the run
like you had a good run, you had a good run, and then he finished it off.
I mean, just what is that like, especially late in the game when it's tight like it is.
Yeah, I don't think there's any intention of trying to feature both of us, obviously.
You know, we've got a lot of threats on the field, but the most important thing is just to execute what's called.
When you hear the term game manager, do you take it as a, I'm not even saying for you, but just in general,
do you think it's a negative connotation, or is that it, it's usually,
said about somebody who's a winning team and playing good quarterback. What do you think about
that term? I just think it's a term. I think everyone's everyone can be called that, you know,
depending on the day. But the reality is everyone that plays a position is asked to manage the game
to an extent. And so I think a quarterback's job is to go out there and do what they ask to do,
execute, play clean football and execute the plays of the call.
What does the first try? What does the game like you say about what Nick has done to get this team?
Say that again.
What does this aging when you're going to say about what Nick has done to get this team playing this way?
I just think he's, you know, he's been growing.
You know, I think that's the biggest thing.
And everyone has to be able to evolve as a season goes on.
And I think he's been able to evolve and build him into helping the team.
Well, yeah, you think he's not a first touchdown drive where AJ got involved a lot.
There was also some tempo on that drive.
What goes into that where you say,
all right, let's try that at this point.
After maybe a little bit or a lot, Jayla.
It looks good, though.
It looks great.
It's a sharp outfit.
I would look like it.
I would look like, but that's,
that is him turned up.
Like, the more even keel he is, the more hyped he is.
Oh, okay.
I think that's probably true.
Right?
Yeah.
Yeah, to some degree.
Right.
Yeah.
That's him at like a nine.
It's a good suit, though.
It's a good shirt.
I would look ridiculous.
Did you, I know there was the report today, I think for me in Rappaport, like looking back at what Jalen Hurts and Nick Siriani did over the biweek, which was a little bit made of that.
They talked every day.
What I liked was they talked every day on, on the phone, on FaceTime, on Zoom, like all the different places.
Now, we've got to do FaceTime and Zoom.
we have multiple
video apps
on Zoom you can share the screen
if you're going on over plays and such
versus FaceTime
Zoom is a calendar invite
FaceTime is like it's like
it's a quick pop in
yeah right okay something just came to mind coach
I'm taking a dump you got to hear about
this are they going to be like his Microsoft
team's going to be angry about this
probably going to be upset by that but they got that deal
with the NFL they're going to be furious
yes I think teams is going to be upset by that
what did you make of that though did I mean
Listen, it is true.
Like this summer was all about, like, what, like, this, this sort of tense,
incongruous relationship between the two of these guys.
I don't know that they're, like, you know, best friends right now,
but they certainly seem to be on better terms.
Yeah.
My guess is, is that this week, he'll be asked.
I mean, we didn't hear all of both guys.
So I'll be interested to hear, you know, go back and read through the transcripts.
They both said it immediately after the buy.
Like, like, we had some, we had some great moments.
Yeah.
I feel like they're going to downplay a little bit
would be my guest this week?
I don't know.
What are you got?
Sequan!
You probably have a small lot, yeah.
You know, let's feed Seqwa.
I mean, yeah, it makes everybody happy.
10 and two.
You're probably right.
He's a great clone.
That's like Juan.
Man, I'm.
It makes everybody happy.
Yep.
And you talked about it today, Vinny.
No, like, Kenny Gainwell carries in this game.
Shipley got the third rush of the game or something.
Yeah, a little pass back.
Yeah.
To Will Shepley.
But otherwise, it was all Sequin.
The game will had a couple snaps in like, like, you know, pass protection on third down.
But, yeah, I mean, Sequin deserves a lot of pressure off, though.
Like, also aside, just the way he's playing right now, man, it takes a lot of pressure off you.
He's ridiculous.
I mean, like, that one play that was like the broken handoff where it looked like Sequan was
expecting the toss to the outside and it was a broken play, he's,
still gain three yards. It's crazy. Every, every touch he has, he's getting the, he's getting the most
out of. It's unbelievable with this guy. He turns everything positive, always going forward.
The blocking today, I saw like C.J. Usima was out there with, like, leading the way on one of the,
did I do the, did I butcher the last guy? It's my guy. Wasn't your best. Yuzama. Usama.
Uzama. Yuzama. I'm the king of that with baseball name. So, uh, people that know me,
that's to be expected. That's your guy, Vennie. It's my guy, Arbin's finest. Yeah.
Oh, there we go.
Some more super chat.
Troy says the time is now to buy tickets to New Orleans.
Let's go birds and say,
Qua.
Also, thank you, Justin Tucker.
Do you guys, how different do you think this game would have been
if Justin Tucker had made his kicks?
A lot different.
At least seven points difference.
So crazy stat from Bill Barnwell that he blew skyed out earlier,
not X.
Justin Tucker missed as many or more kicks today
than he did in years 2012,
2012, 2013, 2016, 17, 19, or 21 all today.
He's broken.
He's missed eight field goals this year.
He's missing extra points.
This was a guy that was automatic.
The extra point, yeah.
Yeah, something's, I don't know, something between the years.
But the flow of this game, I mean, so let's see, it would have been,
now, like the sliding doors of it in football especially is so silly to me because
good Cameron Diaz.
Like you never know what the play calls are going to be.
But specifically in this game, even if, you.
even if he had made those field goals,
it's still a tight game.
The Eagles are still, you know, like,
they're still driving on offense.
It might have been a little bit tighter
at the end of the game,
but I don't know that I look at his misfield goals
as the difference in this game.
It was a 12 to 14 game when both missed field goals.
The Eagles promptly went three and out
on both of those misfield goals.
So it's not like, oh, they got a bunch of points
on short fields afterwards.
Right.
Yeah.
Obviously, it changes to scope of the game.
I'm being earnest with this.
I think that the holding call on Milton Williams probably gets called on that final play on the Lamar Jackson
Scramble and also like it's that that drive itself is so different yes
So like you don't even not that you don't count that touchdown but yes that the scope of that is much different if that's a tighter game
More superchats from James Alexander the third
He says we have the real MVP Vinnie Curry
Damn right uh john to nag say
Like, whoa.
Off to watch the Niners lose in the snow.
Yeah, let's go Niners.
Real time with Prince Blue says,
Kellan Moore has Covey and Shipley and Fantasy.
WTF.
I mean, if he does, he's not doing well.
But that was desperate.
And then real time also says,
Fran, what is the deal with the first 15 plays?
Why can the Eagles still not do anything on their opening possessions?
We talked about it a little bit.
Yeah.
it's very strange.
If I do, I obviously would have
I have a better answer for it, but I think
look at the end of the day, what's that?
Ziriani's middling too much with those first
I just, I think they're looking at.
They get a bit and they can't get off the bit.
You got to respect them committing to a bit.
Look, there is a, when you go into every season,
there is an assistant coach in the staff who is in charge
of every little area of situational football, right?
So there's a coach that quote unquote,
in charge of the third down game plan
in charge of the Red Zone game plan
in charge of putting together
the opening script.
And so everybody who's involved with that,
if it's been the same set of coaches,
like, you know, considering that maybe there's possibility
that Nick Siriani made a change
at some point this season, you know, at any point.
But look, either way, the results have been the same.
We talk about it halftime too.
I mean, look, there is something to be said for
the things that they do in the opening couple drives.
Maybe they're not geared towards trying to
to create big plays and it's more what the information that they're getting out of it.
It's not that they're not trying to score instead.
It seems like their number one objective is to learn a little bit about the defense.
Yes.
The way that they're playing and they're trying some of these new things.
They're learning their process.
There must be a way to do both to serve both masters there.
But yeah, I mean, you hand off to Sequin Barkley.
He gets a first down on the first carry of the game.
And then he doesn't get it again.
And neither does A.J. Brown.
You go, Paris Campbell, Will Shipley, Britt and Covey,
like yeah that doesn't seem like the best process for scoring points the first three drives all
started with a sayquan run that went for like two two or three yards um and then it was pass pass
uh to to end it and you know it was four and out three and out three and out four and out uh all four
ending in puns they were they had 10 real drives in this game yep and on six of those drives
they did nothing they had they had a combined two first downs on those on those six drives
there was the first four drives then the two drives off the miss field goals and they scored all the other
two first drives in the second half.
Yep.
But they made the most of those other four drives.
They got 24 points.
Yeah.
Would you like your weekly Quinyan Mitchell stat porn?
I'm just,
I'm getting ready for that laptop to raise a couple inches.
All right.
Here we go.
Ready?
Jared versus apparently had a game.
Quinion Mitchell tonight.
Four targets,
two receptions for four yards,
zero touchdowns,
two forced incompletions.
Guys, is very impressive.
Yeah.
It's part of the, you know, the weekly occurrence.
I have to.
Yeah, you got to get it in.
I got to get it in.
Absolutely.
So there is, Quignan again.
Cute.
Vinny, the one thing that Nick was talking about last week was making sure that the team avoids
smelling themselves a little bit, you know, here in the positive press clippings.
Like, this is a Super Bowl contender, not getting ahead of themselves in the building,
staying on their process.
How tough is that to do?
listen you got to stay the course
it's still a national football league
and he didn't give a Sunday
so now we're talking about all this
now once we get on Carolina
we talk about trap games
you know that's just
you know it's the
price you guys
let your guard down
yeah hey
it's a big
we get bad
for the women of Philadelphia
we'll get to that later
we'll get to that later
we'll get to that later
Dave Canales is coming to town
it's a whole thing
oh yeah it's very horny
do we ask Cheryl Parker
to like make a curfew for the
or do we call on the women in Philadelphia to do their part?
Shut down the ass.
I don't know which way to go.
Different conversation.
All for Julius Panthers.
We'll fill you in after the show, Vinnie.
He's looking at us like, what's going on?
He's got a great book out there if you want to read it.
We'll save that for later in the week as we get to go to the Panthers preview.
But I do think, listen, I think this is, you talk about the things that make Nick
Sirion a good coach, like the getting the pulse.
of the team on these situations when we know what happened
at the end of the season last year.
This is what it's all about is making sure
that everybody does stick to the process
and not get ahead of the process. There was a play that
jumped out to me tonight that showed me
how much they're bought into Nick Siriani.
It was when the Eagles had their big lead. What were they up?
Was it 13 or 14?
Whatever it was towards the end of the game. Jalen Carter
made a tackle 12 yards downfield.
Yes. And the game was over.
Yeah, the game was over. It was out of hand
and Jalen Carter was busting his ass 12 yards downfield.
And that's what I'm playing every snap of the game.
I was just going to say that.
Yep.
Like, that tells me.
Against Lamar Jackson, who makes you play longer as a defensive line.
If your star players are doing that, just three guys rotating the whole game.
They're all bought in if your stars are doing that with the game over.
I agree with that.
Like, I think that's a lot of credit to Nick Siriani.
Obviously, Jalen Carter.
Oh, damn.
Come on, Frank.
One time, Fran.
Come on, Frank.
All right.
That's it, though.
That's fine.
That's right.
That's right.

Vinnie, what is it like when you go into a game and, like, you know the identity of your team
is that like you are you were the tougher team every week because that's what it feels like this
the identity of this eagles team is they just they wear teams out man it goes we are who we say
we are type of type of thing you know um for instance or offensively the fourth quarter is really
where you saw a sequin really do it do people the dirtiest because the conditioning the way
the uh the eagle's prepared the way they're going about the game is
totally different. And then you see that
defense come alive just swarming
and playing even faster than it was
the first three quarters of the game. It's
really been
it for us. So it's like a couple
weeks ago I will say
the closer. It's the closing
mentality, you know? And
so far they're just playing
that way. Yeah. I think
it's impressive. I mean both lines of scrimmage
both lines of scrimmage
that coming into the season had
serious questions about how they were going to
replace guys who left, right?
No Jason Kelsey.
What's it going to be like with Cam Juergens there?
Mackay Beckton wins the right job and they're still beating people up.
On the other side of the ball, you'll lose Fletcher Cox, the middle of this season, you lose
Brandon Graham, and still they are winning on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
And it speaks to the team building philosophy that Howie Roseman has put in place and really
this organization has put in place for years now where, you know, even when the need, quote,
unquote, isn't always necessarily there, they're always going to add resources to the,
to the line of scrimmage on both sides of the football.
You know, it's going to come into the form of first round picks,
second round picks, third round picks.
They're going to go into day three.
It might be late in the draft.
Hey, let's take a swing on Moro Jomo and just see what he can bring,
even though you've got all that depth that defensive tackle last year.
And I think that that's always going to be the way that this organization operates.
And look, it's the right way to go about this.
And within this season, I mean, the defensive line has cut up to the back seven,
which I think was carrying them for the first half of the season.
We've seen that pass.
Defense of the line was awesome today.
Really like the last two.
three weeks really, really turn it on.
Yeah.
Yeah, I thought Joshua and Nolan Smith were all over the place.
Nolan Smith is turning into a really nice player.
He jumps off the screen at you.
I think the defensive line is taking huge strides.
And especially, you know, the first week, I said in the pregame show, I was like,
this kind of feels like a game Brandon Graham would be perfect at, you know, setting the edge,
forcing guys inside, still with the athleticism.
And I don't want to say they didn't miss them because obviously you miss a guy like BG,
but like they didn't skip a beat.
Oh, he was on that sideline going crazy.
Oh, yeah.
He was right.
There was Cooley from McCollum.
I'm like, damn, I'm so like B to come to the TV.
Yeah.
And by the way, on your point about Sequin being the closer, your buddy shield, our buddy
shield, I should say, friend of the program, tweets out sometimes.
Sequin Barclay with an NFL best, 481 rushing yards and six touchdowns in the fourth
quarter of games this season.
He's averaging 7.4 yards per carry on 65 carries in the fourth quarter.
That's nasty one.
It's also, I mean, those are the time.
when oftentimes they know that you're going to try to run the ball.
Sure.
And he's being that efficient.
It's almost more of the credits of the offensive line than Sequin.
Like, I don't want to take anything away from Sequin because he's a freak.
But the offensive line is allowing, you know, they're taking advantage of a beat-up and tired defense.
And I think if you asked the Eagles when they signed Sequin Barclay, what was the number one reason they thought it was worth paying that much money for running back?
It was to be able to salt games away in the fourth quarter because they didn't feel like they did a good enough job at that last season.
valid and that's
I mean that's exactly what they're getting.
The closer.
Pretty impressive.
Closer.
All right, we're going to hear from Mr. Berman
in just a little bit.
Do you think you can get Zach to do that?
No, zero chance.
Zero.
I don't think zero chance.
I think he could be talked into it.
Yeah.
Over remotely.
Yeah.
In the press box at M&T Bank Stadium.
I think there's a shot.
Listen, he's done a lot of things on this post game show
over the last few weeks.
I don't think you can get him to
do that in post in this one challenge accepted challenge we can make that happen hopefully he didn't
listen to that hopefully he's not he's not there just yeah good a super chat from julia who says
pineapple waves pineapple ocean when we think that is oh she meant to say uh regarding i thought it was
a response to the canales thing and it was like a yeah yeah yeah well pineapple is the official sign of
Julia says regarding holding on Jalen Carter, what can or do teams do to help get more calls?
I imagine they have brought this up behind the scenes, but it obviously hasn't worked.
What else can they do to address it?
And I think like that there is a lot of like pregame lobbying going on from Nick Siriani to the refs about about stuff like this.
Yeah, I mean, it's something that goes on in every building, not just in pro football, but in college as well, where days after games, the staff goes through plays that should have been called, you know, maybe it was.
penalties that we're calling you have questions about it or how come this you know this guy got held
here you do that in the beginning of the week on the game you just played and then leading in
you will also make a real of the opponent that you're making ready to take on and say hey like these
are things that we have seen that we want to make sure that the crew is watching out for as well and so
you mentioned like yeah that they had the most offensive holding penalties i'm sure that the eagle
staff reached out to uh the officiating if they don't they're not doing their job it said like hey
like this is something that
Jaylen Carter was up 47 times today.
They could not contain him.
Yeah,
it's no different than like the illegal man downfield
with the Eagles offense.
That's what I'm going to say.
Opposing defenses are going to be pointing out
and say like, yeah, like watch out for them doing this.
And that's, that's going to pop up.
Yeah, I was interested about the adjudication
of the illegal man downfield
on the first and 10 with Jalen Hertz.
When they just, you get the five-yard penalty
when he was throwing it out of bounds.
Right.
It was a good decision for him to throw it out of bounds.
because otherwise he's getting sacked for
wouldn't you rather take
first and 15 rather than second and 10
well they took it they did take
first and yeah I'm saying it was kind of smart play by
Jalen because well even if he doesn't throw it away
he gets sacked there then it's 15 or whatever
he was five yards dead so I mean it was
he absolutely had to take that penalty yeah
rich and I were talking about that we were like wow
what a hell of a play by Jalen there yeah smart
smart guy smart guy
I go back to that
I know we talked about already
but and I was just going through the
the playlist of it.
You talked about like they go three and out the first two drives of the second half,
but one of them after the,
or both of them after,
no,
one of them after a Tucker,
both after the,
both because they,
yeah,
the Ravens at the ball first.
Then,
like,
they,
are we going to be able to get something going on offense?
The first third down they face,
third and six,
they finally hit that,
that crosser to Dallas Goddard.
And once they get that,
things go downhill.
I just,
I think that was sort of like the,
the play of the game to me.
Yeah,
I think that that,
to me,
look,
when you're in a game like this one,
where it's,
it's good on good two great teams going head to head it's you're not i know there's people in the chat
complaining like oh this should have been a bigger win this team can't blow anybody out
insane it's not insanity that there's a bit's going on the chat we live in a society but when you
when you have a game like this it's going to come down to four or five plays right like at the
end of the day and to me that that dallas got a completion is certainly one of the pivot
points of this football i must have been going to him more yeah they were playing a one-on-one
A man covers, like, all games.
Yeah, I mean, the notion that this is like not an impressive enough win to me is just wild.
Yes, they go on the road against one of the best teams in football and get the win, you know, in a game in which they did not play their best.
Like, I think that's, I think that's very impressive.
All right.
Speaking of very impressive, we have the man himself.
Zach Berman.
Ah.
He's even got the streaks of light there in the background.
Nice job, Zach.
Looking sharp.
Good to see you guys.
It was a journey to get up here, but thrilled to be here.
Interesting locker room after the game.
In some ways, it's like every other big win during the past decade
and that Brandon Graham's there waiting for everyone to walk in
and saying you picked against us and you picked against us and you didn't believe us.
But the reality is, and I'm sure you guys heard Nick Siriani,
a message that he had really was the message throughout the locker room
was in terms of physicality.
that all week long, and AJ Brown said,
you have to be physical against the Ravens.
You have to match their physicality.
But really, you heard Nick say,
he wants to rephrase the question
that the Ravens had to match their physicality.
And that was a big point,
being the physical team.
Then the other big theme in this locker room
was about the sacrifice of the week.
Now, you know, every team practices on Thanksgiving, right?
But that was seen to be a talking point
that a lot of players really clung on to.
I don't know what it is about the framing here or the pixelation,
but you almost look like AI right now.
You look a little bit fake.
That's the nicest thing you've ever said to him.
Yeah.
Zach wishes he could be uploaded.
Are you referring to Alan Iverson?
No.
Oh, okay.
Artificial intelligence.
Okay.
Just trying to be intelligent, artificial or natural.
Hey, Zach, could you tell?
What was that thing that Cooper DeGine did?
to celebrate that play he did?
I asked Cooper to Jean.
Can you show us what?
You can see it clearly on the broadcast.
What did he do?
No, I can't show you.
But you're the dancer.
I've seen you at weddings before.
Yeah, I've seen you at weddings.
I've seen you cut a rug.
I honestly, I got to watch the film.
So Fran being the film guy, I'll defer to Fran there.
But I do need to watch it back.
I see it as.
It was something like this.
Yeah.
Could you do it?
Um, no, I got to tell you guys a quick story real quick. Um, Bo's heard this story. So we were taking
photos, uh, for PHLY the other day, you know, in our PHLY gear and Chris are outstanding, you know,
social media guy says, um, social media director says, um, like, you know, why don't you guys like,
do something funny in this shot? And I turned to Bo and I said, Bo, I don't want to land a Donovan
moment, you know, where like, landed.
Donovan's doing that weird sports illustrating cover.
And then it turns out that I got a bunch of text over the week
over the week being like,
what is this photo of you and Bo?
So, yeah, no, I am definitely not doing that Cooper Jean dance.
Honestly, calls into question to me your reporting accuracy
because that is not exactly how that story was.
So I asked Cooper the Gene what that was.
And he says, it's something that they planned.
either last night or a few nights ago,
but he didn't want to tell me what it was.
DJ Gardner Johnson gave an explanation for it,
that it didn't quite,
I didn't quite understand what it meant.
He'd meant like calm down next play or something like that.
And then Zach Bonn, I had Zach Bonn about it.
And Zach's like, he didn't know what it was,
but he started doing it because everyone else was doing it.
Well, everybody, but Zach, here.
You join us.
Stay strong.
You guys are doing it great.
Yeah, no.
Zach, Zach, Zach, Zach.
Look, look, I'm in Baltimore.
And so I learned from some great Baltimoreians that a man must have a code.
Right?
I'm going to adhere to that.
All right.
Well, well done.
All right.
Tell us more about what you heard and saw in the locker room.
Yeah, it's really.
I spoke to a lot of the defensive guys who really emphasized the physicality.
the fact that early in games, you're kind of feeling each other out.
You want to see their first 15.
And then after that, that's when things kind of start.
That's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's when you settle down.
I'm sure you guys heard Siriani.
I asked that Siriani question about the sequence of Braden Man, pinning them back,
the Eagles forcing a three and out and scoring there because that came up in the locker room as a key to the game.
And actually what Nick said in the.
post-game press conference I heard in the locker room, which which was there was a, and perhaps
it was because Nick made a point of it. But the fact that the Eagles fielded their punts and the
Ravens didn't, they thought that was a little detail in this game that was critical. And they thought
that that really allowed them to pin it back. And look, I will, I will, in real time, I thought
Nick should have gone for that fourth and two. Because from my perspective, you needed, you needed
points in this game. I didn't think the defense would hold them the one touchdown through 59 minutes,
right.
But the fact that they pin them back, they force three and out, they get a short field,
they go down and score, everything changed from that point.
You know, Zach Bond made the, he made a point that the key to this game was making it
a kicking game, right?
And that, like, third downs, I know Professor Selman, well, it's different on defense,
but like a key here was the way they played on third downs, the way they played in the red
zone, keeping the points off the board.
Like, you know, Baltimore came into this game scoring 30 points a game.
And the fact that they had one touchdown up until the final minute, they haven't gone
an entire game this year with just one touchdown.
Now, that stat was kind of nullified by that score late in the game, but that was a big
point of emphasis was third down red zone and really limiting the touchdowns there.
You know, the Lamar Jackson of it speaking to C.J. Gardner Johnson, he was he was pointing out like the importance of being disciplined because he could beat you, you know, two different ways.
He talked about the eyes and how important your eyes were in this game.
And they really didn't get, you know, there was that explosive to Zay Flowers.
Mark Andrews made a few plays, but relative to what the Ravens have done, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that.
That was a big point of emphasis.
So there's a lot of talk about the defense.
There's a lot of talk about special teams as well.
I'm curious, Zach, Jalen Carter plays so many snaps in this game.
The defensive ends.
It's just the three of them playing the entire game, essentially.
Did those guys seem exhausted to you?
No, you know, I spoke to a few of them.
No, they didn't seem any more exhausted than in some other games.
Honestly, you know, the game that's,
jumps out when like you could really see the exhaustion was Tampa, right? And that had to do with
the heat. But I remember that Tampa game, like you felt bad talking to some of these players
because you felt like like they just needed to leave. They were so tired. I didn't get,
I didn't get that sense tonight. Uh, yeah, I know they took a lot of snaps, but really they,
and part of it might have been because they won. There was adrenaline one. But I've, I've been
in winning locker rooms where the guys seem exhausted. And I didn't really get that, that
sense in there tonight. Zach,
a post-game locker room
playlist. Anything jump out to you?
You know, the music was turned down when I walked in.
I heard that they had
Michael Jackson playing. Maybe that's like a good luck thing.
But no, when I was in there,
the music wasn't allowed. It was more
the players, right?
You know, it was kind of like the boy who cried wolf in there
because Nolan Smith kept shouting out
Siriani to the podium, Siriani to the podium.
I left two different interviews
thinking Siriani was going to the podium
but it was really Nolan Smith messing with everybody
right and so when actually
when Siriani was going to the podium
I felt like I was telling my son about the boy cried wolf
I wasn't ready to go and then one of the PR guys was like
no Nick's actually going now he really is going
but yeah no one's just
he just kept shouting out Siriani to the podium
so he did he did take me out twice with that
exactly I got a question yeah seriously
See, I'm there to work as well, Nolan.
Yeah, yeah, I'm listening.
With this game, do you think Nick is in the Coach of the Year conversation?
Oh, absolutely.
And look, I mean, 10 and 2.
Now, they were expected to be good this year, but, like, they were 2 and 2.
People were calling for his job, and they, the momentum that they have is,
I think a lot of it is Nick's messaging, the way he,
He's handling the locker room.
He's done a good job there.
Now, typically that award goes more to, like, the surprise teams than the team that's expected to be good.
But, and obviously, like, I'm focused literally every single day of my life on the Eagles.
So I might be close to the sun on this one.
But, yeah, I mean, I think Nick has, I think Nick's done an outstanding coaching job.
And the reality is this.
Like, you know, we'll see what happens.
You know, the Panthers are getting better.
Steelers are a tough team.
It's conceivable that the Eagles are 15 and 2, right?
I mean, or 14 and, you know, 14 and 2 going into week 18.
So, yeah, based on on that, he absolutely deserves consideration.
My guess is there are some other coaches who might push for that award.
But look, his name should be in that conversation.
and he has the highest winning percentage
of any coach in the NFL.
I'll be honest with you.
You know, the way these Eagle Games was going,
get my blood pressure up in town,
he deserves it.
Vinny finally understands where it's like to be a fan.
Yeah.
Man.
It's not easy over here, Vinnie.
And listen, I'm vouching for defensive rookie of the year,
coach of the year.
He was the sweet.
MVP?
Say, well,
honestly, more than anything,
I would say coordinator of the year
should be Van Gio.
And I feel more strongly about that than anything else.
And I've said this on Anthony's show.
We need a fan show.
Just nostrils.
We need a Vick shirt in the store.
Like the fan genius.
Yeah.
It should be like the fan genius or something, right?
Or have him at the radio.
Can you see him look around?
Like you just nailed it?
Eagles inside are coming to the nose for the fan genius, bro.
Eagles inside comes up the straight headlines.
I guess not.
not. But no, and I'll explain this. I've always been, you know, anyone who's listening to our
podcast for the last, you know, six years, I've always been a player's guy. And I think coaches get
too much credit and too much blame. And I think players win games and players lose games.
But to see what this defense was last year and to see what they are this year, and I know
the personnel's changed, but they are so well coached, they're, they're so disciplined, they're
fundamentally sound. There's a different
game plan every week. And the other thing
too is like they adjust
throughout the game. And that's
you saw that tonight. And I want
to go back and look this
this week. How many times the opponent
scores early in games, but not
thereafter? Because they're
making adjustments as the game goes on.
I'm believing the hype
with, you know, with
Fangio. I did not necessarily
seeing it going like this. Right. And
And this defense, they were number one in total yards coming into the game.
But what they did against that Baltimore offense, teams don't do that against Baltimore.
I watched a decent amount of Baltimore this week.
Teams don't do that against Baltimore.
I was really impressed with the game plan and the approach.
And in this game, you know, with no sleigh, with Isaiah Rogers out there,
with Tristan McCollum coming in, midway through the game for Reed Blankenship,
Quinion Mitchell and Nicobie Dean both missing a little bit of time.
I totally agree with you.
And if we are nitpicking a little bit, the office,
offensive performance. I think one thing we might say is that it doesn't seem like they always
adjust to their personnel the same way that the defense does. It's like at the halftime show,
we were talking about when they get stopped right before that punch that pinned them,
the Ravens down at the one. They call a run play on third and two that's relying on Paris
Campbell to block a guy in the same way that they might be relying on Johnny Wilson to block a guy
in the hole. And I think that that's something they can do better on offense, whereas on defense,
like Vic Fangio, it's the Zach Bong story,
which of course everybody can read on all p.h.oI.com.
Zach wrote a great deep dive on how the egos are getting good play at linebacker this year.
But it seems like they are, in addition to making sure that everybody knows where they are
and they're playing hard and like the awareness is high,
everybody's being used to the best of their ability.
Yeah, to buttress that point,
I asked Zach Bond which of the two plays he was like most proud of,
most jacked up about the sack on Lamar Jackson or the tackle on Derek Henry.
And he said it was the play against Henry because he said that's that's one that he saw during
the week that he actually like deviated from his assignment on the play because of how it was on it
was on unfolding.
And he went and he made the play.
So obviously everyone likes sacks, right?
But the fact that he was able to make that play, that that really jumped out to him.
Fran, keep it together.
Don't you dare.
I actually, it sounded like he said, everybody likes Zach's.
That's why I trouble.
Zach, how was the disparity?
We know for sure.
The penalties in this game on TV, it seemed.
I mean, it was ridiculous.
How did it seem live in person?
Did you feel it in the stadium there?
I do think there's anything egregious.
Like I saw a lot of penalties in particular on special teams,
and that's something that must be cleaned up.
And I didn't think, you know, being here at this game that there was anything egregious with the calls.
I actually thought there were a few calls that might have gone the Eagles way.
So I did see on social media that there are a lot of fans upset about the officiating.
I didn't think it was particularly, I didn't think it was egregious.
I'll go back and watch it.
But, you know, I thought a key play on one of their scoring drives, Jalen.
I thought Joan could have been flagged for intentional grounding,
which he wasn't when he threw the ball away.
And that turned into a fake-
Before the third-dine completion to Goddard.
Yeah, exactly.
But overall, you know, and I have on the TV feed when I watched
and I heard Tony Romo say on the quarterback sneak touchdown
that that should have been a false start on Eagles.
Right.
Yeah.
So I thought there were a few things that actually went in the Eagles direction
on some pivotal plays.
What did you think of,
Jalen hurts his performance in this game, Zach?
I thought he did enough, right?
I mean, I thought he did enough.
And, you know, there's all this talk about game manager.
I don't quite know.
Look, his numbers aren't prolific.
Yeah, you're looking to feed into that.
That's not an hour narrative.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I left Sireani in the middle of it because I wanted to go talk to the Gene.
And I'm glad I did.
But I heard Siriani vouch for Jalen as like an MVP candidate.
I don't know if Jailen's an M.
MVP if Jalen's at that MVP level right now. But I think I give Jalen credit because he's,
he's doing enough. He's making money plays. He's really, he is managing the game well, like the
four minute offense. He's, he's managing that well. They took the ball at 611. They didn't
give it back until him a minute left. And they, and they scored a field goal. I thought, you know,
the two touchdown drives in the second quarter, he, he made some huge plays there. I thought the run
to the goal line was a big play.
There slants to AJ.
He was, those were, those were working.
I mean, I look at the numbers and it's certainly not prolific.
But I think Jalen has, he's doing what it takes.
And I spoke to Jalen two weeks ago or three weeks ago about the quarterback wins.
And he said, and if he should be, he feels like his, his job is to win games.
and he's winning.
And look, he's in the winner's circle quite a bit.
And I think there's something to be said about that.
So I didn't think his performance was prolific tonight,
but I think he did enough.
And he was going up against the guy who I thought was,
you know, is the MVP of the league, Lamar Josh Allen.
And I thought Jay Allen made winning plays throughout the game.
Do you disagree?
No, I think it'll be hard to, I would like to see
the film, but I didn't think that he played a bad game. I think he made the most of what he had
for the most part, but I think there might be some turn downs there. I was surprised that they didn't
throw a single pass to AJ Brown in the second half, but I'm curious to see why that was.
The possessions were a little bit, a little bit wonky. Speaking of that, on Devante Smith,
how close do you think he was to playing? What's your understanding of Devante Smith's status
moving forward? Yeah, I spoke to Devante on Friday after our show.
I mentioned this on the pregame with Jamie and Rich.
Devante wanted to go last week,
and he said that the training staff had to hold him back from himself.
He said he was pushing to go.
He really emphasized when I spoke to him Friday that this is out of his hands,
and probably for good reason.
Now, Jalen was an exercise science major at Alabama,
and I point that out because he has a really good understanding,
I heard this before, but then I asked him about this.
He has a really good understanding about soft tissue injuries.
And he said hamstrings in particular.
He had a torn hamstring in college at Alabama.
And he says he really knows specifics about that injury,
certain treatments to do, certain things to stay away from.
And so he actually consults with the training staff quite a bit about that particular injury.
He was close in that he practiced this week.
He warmed up before the game.
That's more than he did last week.
Last week he didn't travel.
So my guess is he's getting really close.
I'm expecting him to probably, I would expect him to play next week against Carolina.
But I thought going into the game today, he wasn't going to be active.
Gotcha.
Zach, did you think it was the best eagle on the field today?
Great question.
John Carter was, I thought, like, the most impactful.
It's hard for me without, I'm going to be.
where I go back to look at the offensive line.
I mean, Sequin,
shequon did things against that,
that rush defense that,
that teams don't typically do.
I'm of the opinion that AJ Brown's the best player on the field
just about every week, right?
I mean, I'm kind of with what Bo was saying earlier.
There's my biggest critique of this offense is,
like there's no limit on the amount of times
he can throw the ball to AJ Brown.
I would just keep throwing it then.
Because good things tend to happen when he gets the ball.
But in terms of the most impactful today,
I did think it was,
on Carter. All right, Zach, I have one last thing for you. I'm going to put you in a difficult
position. Okay. I'm sorry to do this, but you know, we got we got to do it. We have the pictures
that you are embarrassed by from our photo shoot the other day. So the question for you now is,
would you rather us show those pictures on the post game show or do the Cooper DeGine?
Well, the Cooper the Gene, I was on the other. So, so,
I'll give you guys a good vantage point here.
The Cooper of the Gene play happened right in that corner over there.
Okay?
Yeah.
I was sitting over here.
I feel like John Madden.
I'm worried he's going to do it and we're not going to see it.
Oh, yeah.
So I actually, you know, and I got to say, I love coming down to Baltimore.
Great people in Baltimore.
Real good organization.
But they changed the press box location this year.
It used to be my favorite press box in the NFL, this in Tennessee.
And they moved it to the corner, which is fine.
Like, right.
Like, I get it.
That, you know, where it was before is very valuable for sweets.
Okay.
But I think they built this press box expecting, like, every game to be against Cincinnati.
I might have been sitting on E.J. Smith's lap during this game.
Like, it was E.J. Smith in Elliott Shore Parks.
Like, I was, I was, I mean, when I was in, like, a middle seat on, you know, Spirit Airways tonight.
Like it was, it was that tight.
And so I did not.
The Cooper the Gene play was in a corner.
I saw and then I saw the replay on the screen in front of me.
I can't do that specifically what he did.
I'll go back and watch the film.
The reality is those photos that you mentioned,
anyone who's watching this show two hours in,
I imagine follows us on social media,
has seen these these photos
Chris is a wonderful
I love Chris
I love everyone in our office
but I don't know why that had to be our cover image
I think they're nice photos
I saw yeah
let me see this photo
all right
I thought overall
I thought overall the photos
this is a lovely photo
it's a nice photos
it gives you the Christmas spirit holiday
it's two brothers
this is the whole vibe of the show
it's enchanting
my wife actually
didn't even realize
she like that doesn't look like
I don't know what's going on there.
Yeah.
That face is a face.
Is that you look stressed out in this picture?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, we're frozen right now and it was stuck on this picture.
Oh, there we go.
Yeah.
Zaggy looks so stressed out in the second one.
I was.
I was.
All that was going through my mind.
All that was going through my mind.
mind was, look, I've spent 15 years building a career that I'm proud of, and then
someone's going to go on and do a Google, like a Google search.
And the first thing that's going to come up is a picture of like,
Bo hugging me and blowing a kiss at me.
And I'm like, this is my hugging career, right?
Yo, bro, it's definitely a holiday card.
Yes.
The chat is calling for that to be the holiday.
That's what my wife said.
My wife said are you guys going to send holiday cards?
There's go.
Yeah.
It's great.
too and there's some good bills on this hoodie right now.
Absolutely great deal on that hoodie.
Yeah, great deal on that hoodie.
Cyber Monday is tomorrow.
And if you're not a diehard, you've got to become a diehard.
Fran Duffy's work is worthy alone of it.
I was reading a, you know, I was reading a form this,
this weekend of people debating whether they should be diehards.
And what someone was saying in that form was once they got Fran,
once they got Fran, like it became such a good deal.
and I agree.
What kind of forum is this?
I actually don't advise everyone to go look at it.
I do research.
I do research a lot of, you know, what people say about PHY,
all city, always for feedback.
I had a great, I had a great, yeah, whether it's message boards,
whether it's Reddit, you name it.
I look it up.
Do you have a Google Alerts for D-H-Y?
No, I actively searched, though.
I actively search.
You didn't do this on Thursday, did you?
Good question.
Well, I had no.
No, Thursday night,
now Thursday night I was focusing on the article
on the linebacker article.
No, this was more Friday night, Saturday morning.
This is not constructive.
This is not constructive.
But no, shout out to loyal reader and listener and viewer,
Tim. I met up with Tim before the game, signed two books, and asked him how I can improve the show.
But yeah. So anyways, the photo, the photo, it's the photo I don't want the, I got on this path by saying
brands die hard is worth it. I was talking to someone over the weekend. I was dropping like
such great nuggets about the Ravens. And really, it was just like an open book test because
friend gave me all the all all the notes on thursday all right well zach i'm sure you've got a nice
drive home to get to uh and we look forward to reading what you're right on all p hl y dot com
for those dieharts whenever you're done thank you so much appreciate it guys see this i'll see
you this week all right thank you zach i was about to put him in the most impossible spot
and say i'll donate a hundred dollars to chop right now but i didn't i didn't want to put him in
Well, he's got a big charitable donation that has to come off his books.
Oh, yeah?
This week that's going to date back to a draft night disagreement.
We had about Emmanuel Forbes.
So we'll get to that later in the week on P.
I should have been a turkey on that, by the way.
I know, you should have.
Is there any early swooper indications here?
It looks like that's going to go to bow.
By the way, I don't know if you've realized.
You're super close.
No, the, the Jalen Hertz.
The Jalen Hertz podcast length on wet.
That hit.
I don't know if it hit.
The chat says it's hit.
I have to do the bat.
I think it's close.
I haven't looked back at last.
All right.
Either way, I think you got the wins.
Yeah, you got the way.
All right.
That'll do it for the P.HLY Eagles post game show, 24 to 19.
What a performance.
Let's get, let's get final thoughts.
Vinnie.
Say, Juan, is that?
Where are we going to?
MVP.
MVP.
I'm not, I'm not going to stop until I see a lot of the people in the chat.
Cyber Monday.
Get that, say, Quas, sure.
Please.
Moving merch.
What a pro.
Jim.
Yeah, it's going to be a great.
great day here at p hl why i agree with zach franz notes alone it's worth it keep your eyes peeled
tomorrow cyber monday great deal uh but my takeaway from the game is uh i would die from vangio
and jalen carter is a man possessed love it you got your you got your temple pen over there how we're
feeling about the hire good good hire i like kasey keeler bringing him in to be the temple coach is a good
move um but as far as this game i mean it's a measuring stick game coming in and it was a measuring stick
win i think when you look at this game uh this is one where it's five weeks from now six
weeks from now you're preparing for a playoff matchup this is one you reflect back on in terms of
whether that's in-game week or mid-game as one of the hallmark victories of the season and i know
that there is the the thought from some people in the chat like what what happens when they get into a
shootout i think you saw today there may not be a shootout for this game the defense is too good
for that they are they are super impressive and they continue to answer everything that gets thrown their
way all right that'll do it for the p hl yagles post game
show. We are live 2 o'clock all week ahead of the Panthers game on Sunday. We appreciate
everybody for watching and listening live. We will talk to you tomorrow for Julia and Chris and
Vinny and Jamie and Fran and Zach. We thank you for watching and listening. We'll talk to you
tomorrow. And as always, we love you.
