Hello and happy week seven of the NFL season, everyone.
Welcome into the P.H.L.Y. Eagles podcast, pregame show, all brought to you by our friends at Miller Light.
Find out why it's the original light beer since 1975.
And to this day, it's still the best one.
People have come for the crown, but they have missed over and over again.
And Miller Light continues to just taste like a light beer should taste.
Jamie Lynch, Roy Burton, Rich Hoffman here with you live from State Street Pub.
in beautiful media, PA.
What a downtown media.
I'm not a media guy,
just for no other reason
that I don't live near here.
Beautiful little downtown area.
Wonderful area.
Yeah.
Plenty of good options to go to,
but State Street Pub is the place to be.
Great TV's.
Most importantly,
free parking right across the street.
Right across the street from State.
You can't beat that.
And the Miller Lights are especially cold in here.
But it is week seven.
And you guys,
I'm curious where you're kind of Eagles gauges at
because I've talked to myself,
into this game kind of being a barometer for the rest of the year.
And Zach Berman's going to join us in about seven minutes from MetLife Stadium.
And I mean, if they come out today and offensively look competent, which they haven't really
done for extended periods of play yet, I do believe this can kind of be a momentum of believing
in yourself and kind of getting the ball rolling in their right direction.
And if it goes the other way, it's like the O'Doil is driving off the cliff.
going down. But I feel like this is a big momentum spot in the year where you can kind of get
something going a little bit. And it's got to start today. Like no more excuses coming out of the
buy. It sucked. It's go time. Seriani rules.
No, I agree because, you know, last week, again, it wasn't a good parameter because it was the
Browns. The Brown stink. We all know. They're not a very good football team. But last week,
though, again, like you guys know, like sometimes in basketball, you need to see the ball
going to hoop. So last week was the layup, right? You get the layup. You get the ball on the hoop.
You just see visually that, hey, you can do this.
This week is the week that's like, all right, you know what,
I know I can make a layup.
Let me step out.
Let me take that elbow jumper, right?
Let me go against a competent football team.
And let's see if we can make that 15-footer.
And this is the 15-footer week, I think, for the Eagles.
Because if the Eagles put together a pretty decent game playing
against a competent Giants' defense, you know,
Giants team in general, I think this is a good barometer for the rest of the season.
When you say make a lay-up, do you mean just score in the first 15 minutes of the game?
That's asking for a lot right now from this team.
Well, the Patriots want to have.
head rich they were the only other team to not score in the first court well they had scored field
goals not a touchdown they scored a touchdown in in london on the first drive so the eagles are now all
alone good good for them yeah so jie i completely agree with you and i got to say like last week
i was so beaten down by the phillies that i was just willing to take the crappy win sure i was just
like look this is not a good game this is not something that is going to be in canton the the film
of this game like this does not mean the eagles are a good team and then nixiegeron
celebrates it like he just won the Super Bowl, which infuriated me. But I agree with you.
Like this is a barometer. Like we know the Giants are not that good. Right. There are good
parts about their team. They're, uh, even with Kvon Tibido out their front, Dexter Lawrence,
Brian Burns, two guys who are like a legit problem to deal with, right? But flawed,
secondary, flawed offensive line. Left tackle out. This is a team. Yeah. I mean, one of,
maybe their best player. Yeah, sure. Especially because he plays such a premium position. I think you,
you're framing on that is correct.
Like at some point, you got to look offensively competent
against one of these teams.
You got to show us a little bit of hope,
a little bit of diversity on offense.
This is the time to do it.
It would be nice.
I was bothering Roy about this a couple weeks ago.
It would be nice to get a double-digit win here.
But honestly, Jamie, like more than that,
just look good.
Like, just look like a competent put together football team.
You know, if it ends up being a seven-point win, fine.
I think there is some wiggle room there.
But, like, yeah, like last week,
I was happy taking that.
win, but that's not good enough moving forward.
Yeah, yeah, and look,
the Giants defense is legit, but Danny
Dimes, Daniel Jones
hasn't thrown a home touchdown in nearly
22 months. And the negative
Philadelphia in him goes, well, of course we're
going to be the team that bucks that trend.
At his home and road splits, he's
so much worse at home for whatever
reason. And you've dominated
this series. I think it's 17 and the last
21 you've taken from the Giants. Like,
this has kind of been your slump
slump buster. The Giants have been. Now, they
upgraded that defensive line and Lawrence and Burns are two at the best in the league.
But getting into the inactives today real quick, we're going to talk to Zach briefly here,
but it's Tanner McKee, Eli Rick, Stary and Kinnard, Trevor Keegan, Dallas, Goddard, and Byron Young.
So hopefully another Grant Calcutra game here today.
Yeah, I think it's going to be a pretty decent game for Grant Calcutara,
which is going to get back to your point about, you know, offensive diversity.
Is this going to be an offensive diverse game today?
Because, again, there's a certain guy making a certain return to MetLife Stadium.
Who's that? I haven't heard anything about that this week.
I don't think it's, I don't think it's, I don't think it is.
No.
No, although they're probably, they'd be shaking in their boots if he came back.
Yeah, it would be.
No, that would be part of the diversity.
Like, I think they should start by running Seekwan Barkley.
Maybe run them under center and maybe throw under center.
You know, you're allowed to do a thing where you actually put the ball in his, in his chest for half a second and then pull it out and throw it.
Like, they just need to do some other stuff.
So I think feeding Sequin is still like, you can still find ways to be more creative and kind of,
do more stuff than you have, right?
Instead of just throwing it outside the hatches,
to A.J. Brown on jump off.
But it would be nice for Sequin Barclay to have a huge game
because frankly, like, he's been awesome at the start of this season.
Like he's been, he's been worth every penny.
It's the one move that Howie Roseman has made that's been like,
wow, this is 100% like worth it, all that stuff.
It would be nice for him to rub it in these guys' faces.
Is it wrong for me to have a little bit of late game,
Barkley way too premature fear?
Because the Falcons game, he drops,
one last week he doesn't get the first down and like it might be giants fans barking in the back
of my head you know he's a loser he's never won you know i don't know i have this little tiny
part of my brain that's like is this guy really that's just being an eagle's thing you're just in your
DNA it's encoded in your DNA just you know just to just expect something to battle it out it's like
when the zombie mushroom gene takes over and i'm trying to fight it out of me but do you guys
believe nick syriani is going to make it a point to get sequan in the end zone
today to make John Mara feel that regret that we saw about in Hard Knocks.
Do you think that's something that, because look, there's plenty of games as Eagles fans.
We go into it and it's like, all right, well, that team sucks defensively against tight ends
or this team susceptible to the run or this team against wide receivers.
And they seem to do the opposite.
And they never seem to go to it.
This does seem like an obvious feed the beast day, get them in the end zone, let them get
over 100 yards, let Giants fans really feel terrible about letting this guy go.
Do you think Nick's going to feed the beast today?
I think so because, again, Nick is a guy, as we all know,
he's a guy who can listen to a lot of that outside noise,
and we all know the hard-knock stuff,
and we all know what's going on this week with Saquan-Barkley.
So I think that adds to it because you're right.
Like, let's take that out for a second, right?
Like the Giants are, you know, they allow 5.2 yards of rush.
It's like next to worse in the NFL.
Yeah.
So just by looking at the stats, this is a feed Saquan-Barkley.
And that's a way to kind of get away from Lawrence and a Burns and, you know,
like, typically.
Just by looking at the stats, this is the feed Saqa-Barkley, you know, day.
But I think the outside noise that everyone knows
again, Seekwon Berkeley has a point to prove to the team that kind of, I don't want to say talk a little shady about them, but had some things to say about them on hard knocks.
I think that stuff feeds into that offensive game plan today.
So I think Siriani and Kellamore, I think they're going to make it a point to get Sakelon Barclay to ball over there.
I like that that Anthony has been calling Sriani Travis Bickle.
I thought that was very funny.
That's really good.
Yeah, no, it would be nice to get Seekoine involved just because Joe Shane was just such a loser during that entire.
And his one son called out from the couch, you should draft Jaden Daniels.
You know, if he just listened to his 12-year-old son, they'd be in a much better position right now.
But, Jamie, to your point, though, like the Giants have Cordell Flott and Deonté Banks,
those guys feel like they're getable for A.J. Brown and Devante Smith, right?
Yeah, absolutely.
It doesn't feel like it just has to be a Sequin-level game, and especially because the Giants, like,
what is their one strength?
Their one strength is that they rush the passer really well.
They lead the NFL at Sacks per game right now, and I know.
With Tibido, that takes a little bit of the juice out of their past rush.
But it's still something that the Eagles are going to have to contend with.
And look, like, I think when you have a team that has one real specific strength,
but, you know, they play super light boxes.
They can be run on.
Their outside corners can be, you know, can be had.
Like, when you have a team that has that one specific strength, like, show us a competent
team that can take advantage of that and press on the weaknesses.
Sure.
And we'll see today.
And look, there's a lot of weaknesses that Jalen Hertz's game is, you know, there's a lot
trends there with throwing over the middle of the field and whose offense is it. The reality is
Zach Berman said it best. This is Jalen Hertz's offense. And Rich, to your point, you know, play
action. I love play action. Like that is just football to me. And they were only under center
running it twice last time. And that was Kellyn Moore's lowest amount ever as an OC in this league.
So let's go to MetLight Stadium and talk to the great Zach Berman, who's going to join the show
from MetLife. Zach, we just talked about the inactives, a brief moment ago. Anything
jump out and surprise to you? I guess the big
news is that Sidney Brown is
going to be active for the Eagles today.
I would imagine that just means an upgrade
more at special teams than much else.
What did you make from the inactivs meeting?
Yeah, a few things.
And this really goes back to yesterday too.
With Eagles practice squad elevations,
they did not elevate
a tight end. So the Eagles only have two tight ends
active for this game.
Hold on a second, Zach. We're just trying to work out an
audio issue. Hopefully we'll
be with you momentarily. But yeah, guys.
Guys, is Zach there?
Yeah.
You have me?
Yeah, here we go to you.
Okay, great.
All right, good talking to you guys.
Yeah, so what jumped out to me for the inactive
really goes back to yesterday with the practice squad elevations.
The Eagles did not elevate a tight end.
So they have two tight ends active for this game.
They typically have three.
You're seeing Grant Calcutera and Jack Stoll.
So the Eagles are already undermanned at that spot.
If you think back to last year, Dallas got it missed three games.
Eagles tight ends.
combined from two catches in those games.
So tight end is a position under spotlight here.
They can't afford to lose one in this game,
because if they lose one, they're only down the one.
So this is an interesting spot for the Eagles there.
That's what jumps out elsewhere.
The fact that Darius Lay is active.
He was questionable for this game.
I expected him to play,
but the questionable designation meant it was coming down to game day here.
And then you mentioned Sidney Brown.
Sydney Brown, Eagles brought him to the 53 yesterday.
They activate him from the Pupplist.
I expect him to be special teams defensive depth here.
I was watching pregame long as he's playing.
He's the backup safety of Ante Maddox was backup nickel.
So, you know, that's, it affects Maddox as well.
Maddox had been to backup safety in recent weeks.
Now Maddox moves back to nickel.
Hey, Zach, this is Roy.
I just want to call up on the point that you mentioned about Darius Lay.
So you said Slay is up, ready to go.
The matchup I kind of want to see today is Quinion Mitchell.
versus Malik neighbors.
Are we going to see any of that, a lot of that today,
or is it going to be mostly Slay on neighbors?
Yeah, good question, right?
Because when I spoke to Slay the other day,
one of the things he said was that he's looking forward to that matchup for years to come,
Quignon versus Malik neighbors.
I do think you'll see some of that today.
Now, you know, the Eagles stick the sides.
They don't have Slay or Mitchell follow somebody.
So it really depends on where neighbors lines up.
But I would anticipate at least some snaps today of
neighbors and Russ Mitchell, and that's a matchup we'll see in the NFC's quite a bit here.
Zach, I think the guy that I am curious to watch today is Fred Johnson, who is going back to
the left side. What did Fred have to say this week about stepping in for Jordan Milana?
Yeah, so Fred's more comfortable on the left side than he is on the right. And that's, I do think
that matters. I didn't think he played especially well against Tampa Bay. I didn't think he played
well at all, frankly, against Tampa Bay two weeks ago.
That was a tough spot for him here.
I think he's, he would tell you he's a more natural left tackle.
He had that experience filling in last week when Maillada went down.
I think you kind of know here that he has a few weeks in that spot.
Milata's on IR.
And it is different when you have the week to prepare as opposed to going in midstream.
So I, but now that said, this is a really tough matchup for Fred Johnson.
The Giants lead.
Brian Burns over that side quite a bit.
That's going to be a big matchup here.
Yeah, I think it's a big thing to watch.
So, Zach, this might be a record here amongst media.
NFL, we went three questions without a Sequan return to New York.
Question, what is the color, the sight and the sounds up there for the big Sequan return?
Do you think we get a frothy boo or more of like a Bronx Cheer type of?
Yeah, well, I'm expecting booze.
I don't, there weren't a lot of people in the stadium, even like five minutes ago in their seats.
But I did see one person with a 26th jersey and then the bat, you know, it was taped over.
The Berkeley name was taped over.
I think we saw some of that in the crowd as well, or I'm sorry, in the parking lot as well.
I'm expecting Barclay to get booed.
Seekwan said this week that it won't be him specifically.
It's the Eagles overall.
But look, I imagine it's going to be Seekwant specifically as well.
So Zach, no Andrew Thomas for the Giants today.
I want to make sure that what we saw last week on the defensive line wasn't just a barrage,
wasn't just an outsider.
So I'm having a hard time hearing you there, but I think it's having a hard time hearing you there,
but I think it's about the pass rush, the defensive line.
Yeah, I mean, I, this is a big thing to watch here.
The Giants are missing their best offensive line, and Andrew Thomas.
without him to go with Josh Zayu.
I hope I'm pronouncing it correctly.
He's moving over.
He was a guard last year.
He's a tackle this year.
And I think the fact that, you know,
this is a matchup to watch closely.
The Eagles need to get a pass rush.
You saw that momentum last week against the Browns.
I think part of it has to do with game script.
The Eagles have to be playing from ahead,
be able to pin their ears back.
If they can't get pressure on Daniel Jones today,
I think it's a major concern going forward.
too much into Jaylen Hertz practicing under center in front of the media this week.
But we've got to see something different in this game.
I do think you'll see some of it.
Now, this is the thing.
The Eagles want Jaylen Hertz to be a factor in the running game as well.
It's harder to have the zone read element to your offense.
It's harder to have some of the, you know, the hold the backside defender if you're not in shotgun.
Right?
So there's a reason why you play shotgun.
And I think the under center thing is a little over.
stated, but I, you know, the fact that they were working on it, I think you'll see some under
center. I think I'm paying more attention to play action and motion than I am under center.
That's great stuff. Zach Berman, we'll check in with you again.
Post-game show should be a huge game today up in MetLife. We'll enjoy the game, and we will
see you after the game. Any strong feeling which way this is going today?
I want to say strong feeling. The Eagles are road favorites. I think Eagles are the better team.
I am concerned about that Giants' defense of the Conn.
I think Dexter Lawrence, Brian Perrin,
Azizzo Talari, those guys can wreck a game,
and that can really affect them.
But I think the Eagles are going to run the ball with Sapeon.
I do expect them to run the ball today,
and I think that will be a major difference.
Awesome, Zach.
We will talk to you after the game, my friend.
Have a great day in that life.
Thanks.
All right, there's Zach Berman.
Every time I hear the name Brian Burns, guys,
part of me, like, once I heard he was available last offseason,
I was like, this dude might be the most underrated defensive end in the NFL.
Go, like, screw Bryce off and spending money.
I'll give up some capital going and getting him.
If he wrecks today's game, it's going to, like, a special order.
Is that the thing you're worried about that?
Yes.
Yeah, Dexon Lawrence has, what, seven?
Some sacks already from the beat tackle position.
Brian Burns with the beast.
Now, Zibodeau is a loss, so you're not happy to do with that.
But Johnson and Johnson is a huge question mark in the case.
I'm most worried about the purpose.
I thought about that.
That's good point.
AJ Brown too, same field.
And Mackay Beckett, I think, this week said,
quote, that field is trash, dangerous, the player.
Great quote, yeah.
You never really have a player trash talking at stadium,
usually they'll get mad about their old team,
and maybe Mackay Beckham does that feeling
to the Japanese or something.
Sure, thank you.
But no, he went in on the stadium, I gotta say.
I support right.
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, it's just,
proven. Anytime I see a turf field in the NFL, I go, that owner's a cheap act.
That's basically my thought, because it's proven time. It's like irrefutable.
That grass is better for players, so don't give you this player's safety.
crap when you try it out in the field like that. It's absolutely terrible.
Yeah, an outlook state, you can have it brand certain, but it doesn't cost them.
Yeah, but the other one, a big part of the game, we have Johnson and Johnson on their side,
Andrew Thomas on their side, somebody on the D-line. And again, when we talked about momentum,
last week, five sacks, in four in the first five weeks.
Kind of, you know, Benny's always saying they're getting close.
They're getting close.
You want to see that continue today.
Drew Thomas out, perhaps one of their best players or the best player.
You've got to take advantage.
I think the last time we did this show was before the Falcons game, right?
And we said against the Falcons offensive line that got pummeled in week one,
this has got to be a game where the defensive line eats.
Newsflash, they did not eat.
game. So again, it's the same type of thing where, like, they lose their stud left tackle,
and they really have nothing else close to it. Like, they don't have the depth of talent that the
Eagles have that we'll be playing alongside Fred Johnson in this game. You got to get home.
It's the Eagles, it's been probably their weakest unit so far this year. They got to have a decent
game against these. This is a very anemic Giants offense, especially at MetLife, like you said.
One home touchdown I met life this year. Like, this is a terrible, what, 16 points per game. This is not a very
good, like, Giants offense.
You have to, you have to be able to take advantage of this day.
Which, uh, which do you guys feel is more, um, realistic?
The defense keeps it going today or the offense kind of wakes up here and, you know,
gets a first quarter score or, oh, wait a way, whoa, whoa, whoa, I know, I'm talking crazy.
Oh, man, how many more lights have you had?
Which do you think is more realistic?
The defense keeps it going or the offense gets it going?
Well, I think it's going to be harder for the offense.
It's kind of a perfect type of measuring stick game, right?
Because the defense, right?
A confident defense shuts down this giant's offense.
A great offense scores a bunch of points against this middling Giants defense, right?
And that's the formula for the Eagles so far, where they need to be near the top of the league in offense,
around average on defense, even a little below average I would take.
And they both have fallen short of that mark so far.
But look, it's a long season.
Show us a little bit of hope today.
You know, we saw at this time last year we probably were thinking about, all right, maybe another Super Bowl run again, right?
Right.
Sometimes the season starts low and goes high.
But yeah, I think, you know, both of those units have a real chance to kind of show what they are capable of today.
I will shoot the Giants a little bit of bail.
They look pretty decent on defense last week against the Bengals.
Gave up 17 points, only gave up 13 first downs.
Again, this is a very anemic Eagles offense that has literally gained 22 yards on five first quarter drives, the starting drives this year.
So I don't know if we can expect first quarter points, but I think this offense is going to look better than it has.
I mean, geez, now that the Patriots scored today.
It's like you're really alone on an island of ineptitude here.
You know, there's some clear, look, number one, Jalen Hertz has to have a clean game.
Sure.
Sure.
Number two, what you did last week.
And it's a shame that Siriani became the story because there was some positives last week.
Right.
One of the big ones was Cooper DeGine and Quignon Mitchell.
Absolutely.
I mean, these kids are, you know, bordering on, I'm getting irrationally excited about both of them.
But Jaylon Hertz played a clean game.
So, one, I want a clean game, but two, I'd love to see some play.
Play action, some motion, some middle of the field attacked.
He's only thrown to the middle of the field 8% of the time.
The next lowest in the NFL is 15%.
This isn't like a percentage point off.
It's clear that, and I wonder how much defenses start, you know?
Right.
Trying to force.
Yeah, like abandoning the middle of the field almost.
I think it's imperative that the Eagles got it going across the middle of the field.
All you've got to do is run mesh, man.
Like, it's all you got to do.
It's the simplest play in the book.
Two little shallow crossers.
Somebody's going to be open.
You're going to have a stud receiver on one side catching that ball.
One more point about the pass rush, too, because you mentioned how well Mitchell and Dijin.
Honestly, that was the one thing I took away from this week when the film grinders kind of got to look at the game.
When Fran Duffy's smoking down to us.
And obviously, Fran is the best of the bunch there.
A lot of people kind of pointed out, like Cooper Dijin, nice little start for him, right?
He can do a little bit in cover.
It didn't mess up too often in coverage.
Obviously, is a good player going downhill.
De Niz pointed out, Jamie,
that Vic Fangio, who loves to play zone defense,
he's playing like the seventh most man in the league.
Like, I think he's starting to trust that these guys can hold up in coverage.
And I think against the Giants, especially, like,
maybe double Malik neighbors, play man against everybody else.
And pass rush, please get home.
Because I think they're going to give you a couple seconds to get the Daniel Jones there.
Yeah, I think so.
But again, like the Giants have, you know,
they have a trio of pretty decent line receivers.
You know, you have Malik neighbors coming back.
Like they say, he's going to move him around a little bit.
Wondell Robinson second in the NFL in Target.
with 58. He's just a guy who just kind of gets open across the middle. He's a great, he'd be a great
wide receiver here. But then, you know, you also have Darius Layton, who's, you know, been a pretty
productive wide receiver these last two weeks with neighbors out. So it's not going to be easy
for Degine and Slay and Mitchell, but again, I think this defense is going to be prepared for
this challenge. Yeah, and one thing I'm curious to see if it continues over. I think
Avanti Maddox blitzed four times all season prior to last week. Cooper Dijin blitz three
times last week. Okay. So I'm curious if Uncle Vic has a new blitzing.
kind of toy there.
Before we get to the best bets on our predictions,
the Malik neighbor's
Quinyon Mitchell thing.
I'm ready with this.
I love Quinyon's attitude.
I love that he's in Hall of Famer Mike Evans'
face talking smack. I love
this kid's attitude and he's backing it up.
It feels like he's this close to his
first pick. CJ, GJ.
Had one last week. Kind of stole one from him last week.
But I think this is a matchup we're going to
deal with in the NFC East for
probably the next decade. Both of these guys
look, you know, all pro-caliber
players. This is why you draft them. You drafted him to go
against Malik neighbors. You drafted him for
CD Lamb. You drafted him for Terry McLaren.
So let's see. This is a metric stick game.
Let's see how he hangs. And I think just
by the nature of his position,
Quinyan has gone under the radar, right?
Because when, you know, until you get
up into the Derell-Rivas kind
area when people know to not
throw your way, like, you can play a great
game as a corner and people just don't
mention you, right? That's how it's good.
So I think hopefully, maybe against neighbors,
has a good game. He starts to get some of the national recognition because he's been
spectacular through what, five games so far. Yeah, he really, you know, he's, I don't know what I haven't
looked at like defensive rookie of the year odds on like, you know, bet three, six, five or whatever,
but I would imagine he's got to start getting in the conversation, you know. Just needs to start
catching some of those picks. And also he just needs to start calling, I got it when, uh, when,
uh, when the sparrows a pop-up to him, right? You know, got to listen to the outfielders.
Got to wave them off. All right, let's get some of the best bets here today.
Bow and I do it all season long. Roy usually throws in one or two when he's here with us.
This is all presented by Bet365. Find out why it's never ordinary at Bet365.
Use code P-H-L-Y-365.
And sign up and get yourself $200 in bonus bets.
All right, today I'm leaning on Sequin Barkley.
I'm going to take any time touchdown scores minus 165.
That's kind of telling you they're going to get in the end zone at one point.
I think Nick Siriani is an emotional being.
I think he wants him to get that first touchdown if the Eagles have the opportunity.
Give me plus 33, Sequin first touchdown.
I think if they're anywhere inside the 10-yard line, it's going to be designed to get Seekwine in.
And if he starts peacocking up and down the sideline because of it, great.
Number two, I'm going to go now Bet365 has player milestones so you can do 25, 50, 75, 100.
I'm going to go with one that jumped out to me here.
Malik neighbors under 75 yards.
Only have to lay minus 115 to get that because of Quinyan Mitchell.
I have immense faith in him that he can hold neighbors in check a little bit today.
And then Bose bets, we got Saquan Barkley, a 25 plus receiving yard play at plus 2.10.
I like that.
And AJ Brown's longest reception over 25 and a half yards, got to lay minus 110.
for that one. So there's Bo and I, Roy, what do you
got up the sleeve? I got a couple. So again, this is going to be
Sequan-Barkley Day, so over
100 and a half rushing and receiving
yards combined, minus 115
on bet 365. Love that bet.
We talked about, you know, the alternate receivers
for the Eagles. Grand Calcutera looked pretty good
last week. So give me Grant
Calcutera. That one burst.
I was like, all right, Grant. I was unfamiliar with
your game. Deceptively fast.
Deceptively fast, Grant Calcutera.
He and Hertz had a nice run where he looked faster than he had
been a while. But obviously, we've seen Jan Hertz
drunk fast before.
Craig Alcantara, that was pretty shocking.
Not so much.
Grant, over 26 and a half receiving yards minus 110.
And again, with Darius Slaten back, I think the Giants are going to work the ball around
a little bit.
So Darius Slaten over 2.5 receptions minus 130 on bets.
And speaking of just another one I did on P.HL.
Bets this morning, Jalen Hertz, over 257 and a half rushing and passing yards.
Okay.
I kind of like that a little bit myself.
All right, let's get into the predictions of the game here.
and of course is the PHLY Eagles podcast presented by Miller Light.
We're live at State Street Pub out here in Media, PA.
Great TV set up in here.
I smelled the wings go by.
I already know what I'm getting for lunch.
Miller Lights are flowing.
Let's get into our game predictions.
I'm absolutely horrified about this game because I want to feel good and I just don't.
I think the Eagles are going to pull out a win today because I think really versus Daniel Jones at home,
You just got to score over 24 points.
Sure.
And this Giants defense is formidable, but I think the Eagles can do it.
I'm going to go Eagles 24 Giants 16.
Eagles get it, they cover and win, but we're biting our nails.
It's not pretty.
It's a divisional grind, but I think they pull it off.
Yeah, I think I'm right there.
I think I'm 23, 16 Eagles.
I think it's a little less, you know, nail bitey than the Browns game last week.
I think it's a little bit in the fourth quarter.
I think we're a little bit more confident than we were at the end of that game.
But again, this should be a game you win by double digits, as Rich would love.
But I don't think it happens today.
Eagles 23, 16.
I don't think it happens either.
I think it's going to be a close win where we're thinking like, okay, great, four and two,
but like we got to start playing better.
So the number that's been sticking out to me is 20 to 17.
That feels like every, like, Eagles Giants game.
Yeah.
You know?
So that's where I'm landing.
at. I just, this team, until they actually do the thing where they play a complete-ish four
quarters, I can't predict them to do it.
Yeah, we got to hit a super chat before we get out of here.
Our old friend Richard Fitzwell, he chimes in every pregame show and we appreciate them.
I just can't see it right now, Julie.
I think it's because I'm on delay.
Yeah, I can read it.
Oh, let's hear from Julia with the Richard Fitzwell super chat.
says, can we be mad at a 2018 W?
We know New York isn't good.
I don't think it could be mad, but I don't think, again.
It goes back to the Nick Seriani thing.
I'm not screaming at Eagles fans with a 2018 win over the Giants.
Yeah.
Mad, no.
Can we be irrational?
Sure.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Yeah, and that's the thing.
You know, a win is a win, especially versus a division opponent.
But you just are desperate to seek pretty Eagles football again.
Like that's just kind of my hope today.
See a pretty offense.
Score in a first quarter.
Don't make this that difficult, guys.
You know, exhale in that situation, take the win.
But you can be a little bit skeptical moving forward, right?
Absolutely.
So the rest of the lineup here today,
Bo and Fran are going to be reacting live at halftime.
So make sure you're checking those guys out.
As soon as the game goes to halftime for instant reaction.
And then, of course, postgame, back in the studio,
Bo Wolf, Fran Duffy, Mr.
get flea. Vinnie Curry, Super Bowl champion will be in there. I will be back there as well.
Zach Berman checking in live from MetLife Stadium for Rich Hoffman, Roy Burton.
I'm Jamie Lynch. Thank you for hanging out with us during the Eagles game, pregame show, and go birds.
We'll see you soon here on P.H.L.Y Eagles podcast, all presented by Miller Light. Have a great Sunday, everyone.
