the Eagles are going to the Super Bowl
this time after another
NFC championship domination
55 to 23
over the Washington commanders
and let's go around the horn
Vinnie Curry, Jamie Lynch, handsome
Rich Hoffman here. We're going to hear from
Fran Duffy and Zach Berman coming up in a little bit
obviously we're going to hear from you
the fans congratulations to all of you. Hit us up
with your super chats but Vinny let's start with you
number one takeaway for you after
the Eagles are going to the Super Bowl.
Give my boy the MVP. I've been
say that all season, three touchdowns, NFC championship.
We're going to New Orleans.
I got my glasses somewhere here.
Hold on, hold on.
And everybody knows what comes after that?
Sequin!
I mean, you called it.
This whole season was manifested by you, Vinny.
Jamie Lynch, over to you.
I can't wait.
This is awesome.
They feel like a team of destiny.
This is what a season.
Seguan Barclay, I believe, just had the greatest season by a running back ever.
Case closed.
He is 30 yards away after a 15 carry for 118 yard performance from setting the record for the most rushing yards in a season, including the regular season of playoffs.
Rich Hoffman, your number one takeaway.
55 points, Beau.
55 points.
A 50 burger.
The passing game is not good enough, guys.
Unbelievable.
We talked about the passing game all year, and in the biggest spot, Jalen was awesome.
Sequin was awesome.
Kellen Moore was awesome.
you know, they switched centers at halftime
didn't matter. Amazing game from the offense, man.
Let's get a little thumbs up for the Super Bowl. Come on.
Super Bowl. Oh, my God, Jalen do is win, baby.
Jalen Hertz, I think, played perhaps his best game of the season.
I mean, this was the Eagles best game of the season on offense
by any measure, by points scored, by EPA per drive, and success rate, all that stuff.
Jalen Hertz, 20 of 28 for 246 yards and a touchdown and on the ground.
adding three touchdowns himself to go with this dominating performance against, you know,
we were talking to the commander's beatwriters in the press box.
And they're like, I don't know.
This team is a team of destiny.
They lost by 32 points.
It was a domination.
And Vinny, really, from the beginning, I mean, the first play of the game for the Eagles is a 60-yard touchdown by, you boy.
Say, what?
Say who, say what?
I say, say, say-we.
Man, he just was running like a man possessed out there.
Like from that first touch, when that touchdown, I'm like,
oh, yeah, this is about to get ugly.
And it's crazy.
It's crazy because, Jamie, we said this game was going to get out of reach.
We did.
A lot of people felt the double-digit victory.
We had a couple people pregame taking alternate lines on Bet365.
I told you.
When I was checking in from the Hard Rock, I said this is going to be a blowout.
Places and shambles.
I don't know how we ever recollected ourselves.
Yeah, we're going to have to rebuild that bad.
boy brick by brick but we're going to have plenty plenty of time to do it we got time we got two weeks to
rebuild it a j brown six catches for 96 yards and a touchdown and listen this game was you know a little
bit in the balance in in the second quarter and even early third quarter but the longer this game
went on the defense again forcing a bunch of turnovers uh the offense playing their best game
of the season it was it was sort of like we've been waiting all year for them to put together their
like a plus performance and they saved it for for the biggest opportunity yeah absolutely
And then when, I mean, they're just, you kind of said it earlier, Vinny, a team of destiny.
It seems like every stage is clicking.
Special teams turnovers, defensive turnovers, the rushing game, the passing game, the
offensive line going through adversity and overcoming it.
Like, everything's just going right right now.
Let's go to the early super chats from those of you who are super fired up.
Real time with Prince Blue says, Vinnie, your aunt and grandmother are at the same church as me
me in North Carolina and gave my daughter a Vinie Curry jersey today.
She wore it and we got a 50-biter.
That's awesome.
Where in the way of the Super Bowl is well?
They just have many of the very jurisdictions.
Get on out to everybody.
And when Eagles are head to Nalans.
Mikey Faze says that Commander's Stadium takeover looked absolutely non-existent,
Jebronies.
They are gibronies.
They took over one room in a restaurant.
It was a pretty big deal.
Roe He says, holy.
Yes.
Dave says like QB1 said, different games require different performances.
And Nick's Jalen just wins.
hard to argue after this incredible performance.
Aaron D says Gameball to Jalen Hertz and Orrin Berks,
LFG Birds and Daniel Gorbowski says go birds, go PHLY,
one more.
And obviously now the Eagles waiting to see who they're going to play
in two weeks in Norlands as the Chiefs and Bills get ready to play.
Let us know in the chat if you have a preference,
if it matters to you who you think,
who you want the Eagles to play.
Don't care?
Nope.
Don't care.
I don't care.
Rich?
Can't even think about it right now.
Too happy to care.
This is a celebration.
This is a celebration.
So let's start with the game ball that you would give for this game.
And that, of course, is presented by our friends at Xfinity.
And the game ball is proudly brought to you by our friends at Xfinity.
Join the millions who have switched to one of the fastest growing mobile services.
Jamie, why don't you go first?
Give me your game ball for this game.
This is a tough one.
I mean, Sequin seems obvious because he kind of set the standard there from the first.
play but I'll give it to Jalen Hertz I'll step up he played look he's played clean football all
playoffs long he hasn't you know lit up the box score in the first two I thought he was spectacular
today really nothing to complain about at all he was putting the ball on the money he took the runs
when they were there I thought he played you know great championship level football today and
importantly did not take a ton of sacks in this game which he which he had done obviously
for a while. Only two sacks in this game
made a few plays where he was able to
throw the ball away. And so
while making more plays
on the positive end than he
has in a while, he also avoided the negatives.
And there was a couple miscommunication errors there
with like the center change
and Calcutera. So, you know,
really, really great game from Jay. Yeah, I mean,
if you were just tuning in and somehow missed
what happened here, Landon Dickerson
is the center for the first half of the game
with Tyler St. Left Guard, Cam Juergens
with his balky back. Active, but not
playing and then Dickerson gets so banged up in the first half that Juergens plays the second half and Jalen Hertz deals with all of that against the team that was actually blitzing him more than any other defense has in a game this season.
So very nicely done by Jalen Hertz.
Vinny, I'll let you give your game ball.
I left them for you, Vinny.
You can have a...
I mean, who else is it going to be?
Wait, whoa, see?
Nah, curveball.
Okay.
Curve ball.
Oh, you're going to steal mine, I think.
Go ahead.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Oh, it's bad.
Oh, it's all.
Oh.
from somebody.
You y'all have to punch out the stack.
A huge play in this game.
And it was a next man up mentality.
And he just took the soul
from the Washington commanders today.
Owen Berks, my game ball go to you, brother.
I believe Orrin Berks,
unless the Chiefs win.
But Orrin Berks will be playing
in the Super Bowl for two years in a row.
Wild.
Played there last year with the Niners.
Rich, give us your game ball.
Benny, who's my game ball?
Say, whoa.
Say, say, oh, say why.
Say, whoa.
Say, say, whoa.
I mean, you know, Washington, that crazy first drive, 18 plays 54 yards.
I don't think I've ever seen anything like that.
Dan Quinn decides to kick the field goal.
Eagles get the ball.
Sequin takes it to the house in one play.
Three broken tackles on that?
What was that?
Like 18 seconds?
I mean, it was a good play call.
It seemed like they got them flowing in the other direction.
But, you know, Sequin spins out of like three tackles.
And it's the same thing it's been all year, Beau.
The offensive line gets Seacuan to the second level.
and then he makes a couple guys miss, and it's a 60-yard play.
Unbelievable.
I think those are all very good answers.
I'm going to go somewhere else with my game ball,
and I'm going to give my game ball to Nick Siriani,
because what a year.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
What a year.
Hold on.
I love this.
I can't come correct here.
I mean, listen.
What is going on?
And I think this is the great thing about, you know,
when a team gets to the Super Bowl,
is you think about everybody's story,
And there are so many unbelievable stories on this team.
Sequin Barclay leaving the wasteland of the New York Giants
and finding out what it's like to be somewhere else
and running like a man freed all season long,
better than any expectations could have possibly had.
Guys like Orrin Burks stepping up in the big moment,
Jalen Hertz, listening to all the noise
and playing his best game of the season.
But Nick Siriani, what a story it is for him
to have been so maligned all off-season long,
going into the season.
The Eagles like brass replaces his coaches,
how is he going to deal with all this stuff?
The early season yelling at the fans
and all of this stuff.
Shaved head.
And in this game, first of all,
he had this team absolutely ready to play
and not baited in by some of the commander's nonsense in this game.
And also to his credit,
when this game was in the balance early in the game,
he made some aggressive decisions
that is not necessarily what,
he's done all season long, that fourth and five
going for that, and you hit the big
play to A.J. Brown. All the
credit in the world to Nick Siriani for getting
this team to the Super Bowl. Absolutely.
That fourth and five play call today might have
been like, I don't want to say
the thing that kind of like sealed it,
but that was huge. In the moment, because like...
An enormous play. If that's incomplete, yeah,
the commander's getting the ball. A short field.
And then it's a one score game again.
Like, that took some balls. So
congratulations to all of our
recipients of the Xfinity Mobile
game ball. And they're riding my guy, Nick got a coach of the year, but I don't kill
what I say. Well, I fired him last off season, so hell of a year, Nick. I mean,
he's risen from the dead. And then Jeffrey Lurie gets presented with the, uh, with the
trophy by another one of your boys. Nick Fos!
Man, what a night, man. What, what are you calling? Evening night. Don't matter
what it is. Tell us in his, uh, in the chat, what a freak drinks at? I don't even like to drink,
but I don't want to drink, but you have, like, you don't like to drink, but you have, like,
more wine than anyone I've ever seen in my life.
Yeah, that is true.
That's a nice wine.
You do.
I have to have, you know, for my guests.
Okay, okay.
It's that you don't want to drink a lot, but when you do drink, you want it to be a good drink.
So, let me, me, guys, do you guys understand that our Georgia Bulldogs got a national
championship now to get ready to go to Super Bowl?
That's another one of the guys that you talk about.
Jalen and Nolan were great again today.
I mean, just think about like all the, all the stories, right?
you've got you've got jalen hurts that we talked about we got vangio like being the defensive savior
turning this defense around from 29th in the league last year to number one in the league this year
his relative hometown team and he over delivers and has been fantastic you got sequin you got a j brown
breaking out again in this game even like down roster guys like like jahan dotson who hasn't
done much this season but gets to beat his former team in the nfc championship game you've gott
playing through injury and was a big factor in this game has seven catches for 85 yards.
Lane Johnson continues his Hall of Fame push.
A guy like Tyler Steen, who loses the competition in the summer for right guard,
steps in in the biggest game of the season and does the job at left guard.
You've got the guy who took his job, Mackay Beckton, who had a very maligned career with the Jets.
Now he's going to the Pro Bowl.
He's been fantastic.
You got Jordan Davis having a sack in this game.
You got Zach Bond, like the most unbelievable story of the season.
You talked about C.J. Garner Johnson when we were watching this game, Vinnie.
Two years with the Eagles, two Super Bowl appearances, right?
Not a coincidence.
Like Josh Sweat.
The Eagles want to cut his peg in the offseason.
He comes out and has a great season.
He sends him to the Super Bowl.
You know, like, unbelievable.
Every single person on this roster from the players to the coaches,
when you get to this level, it's like there are just so many things to appreciate.
It's, you know, it's like the Kelsey speech from when they won.
but it's they all deserve all of these stories to sort of come full circle and guys you got to
understand i'm overly excited from the beginning from week one to now i've been saying it all year like
you guys is getting ready to jail the gang ready to get ready to take off the game ready to get
to jail they're getting ready to jail to get ready to take off and i don't know how many turnovers later
that that defense got i mean insane they have 10 turnovers in three games oh my remember the first
month of the year when they would never get a turnover it's insane
they saved them up for the right time of the year.
So you've got you've got Bon forces one
on the second possession of the game for the commanders
and Reed Blankenship falls on it. Great job.
You've got the Oren Berks one that you talked about.
You've got Will Shipley and Kenny Gainwell forcing one.
We didn't have that one on their bingo card.
On special teams.
And then you did at halftime predicted correctly, Jamie.
You boy.
Quinion!
Gets another.
That was a hell of a pick too.
A little tap play catching it on the ground.
Fantastic.
I mean, what a rookie year him and Cooper had.
They changed everything.
I mean, you just fast forward to last.
last year when we've gone out, you know, James Bradbury's due back any day now,
four to six week injury.
So maybe we'll see him in the Super Bowl.
But like the secondary last year was just getting abused.
And Howie and the front office, credit to them, first two picks, boom, boom,
changed everything.
I mean, this game had this game had so much.
We even had the first time I've ever heard the refs basically threatened to just give a team
a touchdown.
Unbelievable.
I didn't know that was a thing.
Learn something new every day.
That was fantastic.
Lou Boo, coming over the top, like time and time again.
And they're just like, they've been worn.
We'll just give him a touchdown.
Like the guy in the courtroom.
Did you know that was a rule?
No, I didn't know that.
That's wild.
Fantastic.
I like the rule, though.
Yeah, like the rule.
More super chats to get to.
Aaron D. says, shout out Kellemore.
And absolutely, Kellamore, I think, called his best game of the season.
Cleveland John says 55 for BG.
I love that.
Vinny, what do you think?
Can we get him back for the Super Bowl?
I love that.
Is BG going to make a comeback?
Talk about it.
Talk about us.
story that would be.
They might have to face time.
Get some answers before the show's over.
Aaron D. says Jalen,
Hertz, outplayed Jaden Daniels, game ball to Jalen.
Eric says, just need a shout
out to my best friend, Rhino,
Bears fan who supports the Eagles with me
like none other, go birds.
Shout out to Ryan.
Shout out to Rino.
He's watching CHGO when he's not watching
P. H.L.J. says
L.A. Philly dogs.
Sound off Nola, ain't ready for us.
Let's just make sure that the Eagles fans
going down to New Orleans, stay away from the
Hard Rock Cafe because that is not the place to take over.
Aaron D. says LFG. Orrin Burtz.
Millers says grab the shiasty and grease the poles.
Gobirds.
It is nice to be here where we are in the city to hear everybody honking around.
Absolutely.
Outside as the party begins.
L.K.
Thanks for your coverage, guys.
Best in the business, huge friend from Perth, Australia.
Perth.
I haven't missed a game or PHLY show all year, sensational win.
That's your old stomping.
I used to live in Fremantle.
Big shout out to Western Australia.
turkeys on a BG practice windows opening this week.
I'm going to put it at 70.
You think he's...
I don't know that he's definitely going to be able to play it,
but I think he's going to try.
If he's close enough, he's going to try.
He's going to try to practice.
Musa, love you guys, love this team.
Love you too, Musa.
Aaron D. Bo, you're getting me too hyped.
I mean, they're going to the Super Bowl.
That's not my fault.
Blame Sequin.
Blame Vinny.
He's the one who created him.
Pav.
Any thought that Goddard's ankle injury was mind games.
He was so heavily involved.
and designed runs and screens.
Interesting.
I don't think so because he was a limited participant in practice.
He's a tough, he's a tough, yeah.
He's just a tough, tough dude.
You know, you want to talk about the X's and O's of this game.
That was a big factor, was they were very successful in the RPO's.
As we said, seven catches for 85 yards for Jalas got it in this game.
And the truth is, this was the worst defense that they have played in the playoffs.
Like this was not a very good defense, but the Eagles certainly made them look like it.
They made them look like it.
Yeah.
It was a scoring drive.
Basically every possession except for the first possession of the second half.
A couple more super chats, I think.
We don't have to get to them all, but that's okay.
Dom said Eagles winning is great.
Eagles win.
Good for him.
Thank you, Dom.
Yeah, I mean, fantastic.
What a ride.
All right.
By the way, quick update.
Chiefs up 7-0 early on.
Okay.
Jeez.
By the way, Jason Kelsey was in the lots for this game.
I don't know if he flew then to Kansas City, but I think he was threatening to impressive work.
Yeah.
To go to the game in Kansas City after being at the tailgate.
Got it.
Yeah.
Okay.
Get a little bit of all.
Jason Kelsey, man.
What a dude?
I mean, absolutely.
Jerkins and Dickerson are really hurt.
Yeah.
He's got one more of them?
You know, they had to turn that plan around and suit them up.
Could he gain 50 pounds in two weeks?
Because he might have to.
It's possible.
He probably could.
Yeah, Chris Long and Bo Allen were there as well with,
with Nick Foles and Brent Selleck, I believe.
I'll get Vinny.
Fletcher and Chris Long recreated their famous side-by-sides.
Nice.
Yeah, I retreated the polls.
Zach Bonn, you talked about what a story that was, Jamie.
I mean, he was a monster in this game,
12 tackles leading the team.
And that first turnover was such a big play in the game
because as you talked about that first drive, Rich,
like they were really moving the ball.
And listen, they didn't get a lot of chunk plays.
It felt like that was the game.
game plan for Vic Fangio in this game. I don't think the commanders had a play. I guess they had
one they had two plays of over 20 yards, I believe. But it was a sort of bend but don't break.
And what we've seen the second half of the season is when they're bending, they're also able
to force those turnovers. Huge play. Huge play. The Eagles have gotten really up and down the
lineup so good at that peanut punch, man. They are. It's crazy. They're ball hawks. Obviously,
Warren Burks makes the play later when when Echler gets up and he puts it right on the ball. I mean,
look, I think in a league where
everything is now tilted towards the
offense, all of the rules and stuff like that,
it's nice to see that the defense is
fighting back by just punching at the ball carrier
and the Eagles are doing an awesome job of it
right now. Awesome job.
And I totally think that
that was return the game
all the way around.
You want to take somebody hard?
I feel like, who. Yeah.
Yeah, and me and Rich were talking earlier,
it's hard to fathom a situation
where you don't bring Zach Bond back.
You almost have to pay that man his money.
And if it's open market value, like so be it.
He changed so much about this defense.
You can't, with Nacobi being his injury prone as he is,
and I know this is kind of a conversation for down the line a little bit,
Zach Bond has to be here next year.
Well, and again, like what a story for Zach Bond,
who not only has emerged out of nowhere to become a defensive player of the year candidate
at a position he hadn't played before in the NFL.
Now he's going to get to play the Super Bowl
in the place where they wouldn't let him play that position.
Crazy.
Eagles win by 32.
So the last three NFC championship games,
Vinny was a part of one,
387,
317 a couple years ago,
and they even jumped the final score of the outcome.
Wait, so what was the score of the nine years game?
31, 7.
31, okay.
387, 31, 7.
They said,
Nah, we're going to win by more.
So the last three NFC championship games,
the Eagles have won by a combined 88 points.
Wow.
Pretty good.
Unbelievable.
I guess all you got to do is get the championship game and then it's a blowout.
What the hell?
88 points.
Yeah, just get an NFC championship game at home and you are guaranteed a blowout,
it turns out.
Fantastic.
The defense, the pass rush in this game, Vinny,
I think I think worth shouting out because I don't think that anybody would have predicted
in this game that the Eagles would see.
sack Jaden Daniels more than the commanders would sack Jalen Hertz, but they sacked him three
times. Orrin Burke's getting home once on a blitz, Nolan Smith with a big play, and Jordan
Davis with a huge play for a guy who is not always relied on as a pass rusher.
And you're missing, you're missing my guy. Who am I missing?
Nolan Smith. I said Nolan Smith. Did you? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dude, the Nolan Smith one was
crazy. That was really, that was a hell of a play. The closing speed was, was wild, Bo.
another guy who like you think about the season that he has had
going from a guy who had to play in the final preseason game
to now being probably the best pass rush around the team
yeah fantastic
man I like
did you all see that one clip you know I know we always say back
and we as we watching the game
told my communication see the one clip where last week
where they actually talked and
uh jane and carter got the sack
you know um did you guys see that
The one where Carter was like hitting his head.
I think Zach actually talked to those guys in the locker room about this week.
And Jalen Carter said, you know, sometimes we have played, he and Nolan have played together so much
that sometimes they're able to just give each other a look and they know exactly what their move is going to be.
Man, you got to love the chemistry.
Chemistry getting this to New Orleans.
Yeah, I mean, you know, that gambit has certainly paid off.
All right, let's take a little break very quickly to hear from our sponsors and then we've got much more to come.
We're also going to hear from our friend, Fran Duffy, who's out scouting the draft,

Yeah, there's going to be a couple different bins on the site,
at 20% off, 60% off, 50% off, so a lot of inventory.
We're just burning and churning through right now at great rates.
So just go check out the locker room on all p hly.com.
You'll see everything for sale.
They put it up live.
It was supposed to wait until tomorrow,
but they said, no, let's celebrate right now.
Let's celebrate.
People need new gear.
So go check out all p.hly.com locker room.
All right.
We head now to Parts Unknown,
where we are joined by the man himself,
the Duffman, Fran Duffy.
Duffman.
Oh, look at that.
Fran, how you doing?
Guys, I'm doing great.
This was a, look, my setup isn't quite what I expect when I'm in the studio with you guys, but, you know, that's good.
I am wearing pants.
I am wearing pants. We're by P.H.O.I. hoodie. I am wearing pants. So, it's about all your good hoodie.
He's got his merch as well. Fran, what do you make of this performance? I mean, all year long, leading up to this.
I mean, just an outstanding performance, obviously. And it's, look, we got what I, here's what I love about this win, right? Everything that we've come to
expect from this team. You had the elite running game. They set an NFL record seven rushing
touchdowns in a postseason game. You get the defense showing up in a big way. You get turnovers.
You get stops. What they did to Jaden Daniels, you know, the next gen numbers are already coming in.
So some of the things they did the Jaden Daniels just outstanding, limiting him as a scrambler,
limiting the plays what he was able to do like outside of structure late in the down where he has
just been killing teams this year. That's where, I mean, they just put the lid on everything that
Jaden Daniels was doing.
But to me, this was everything that we wanted from the past game for the last two months.
This is what we got in this game.
And I think you give credit to Jalen Hertz.
You give credit to Kellynne Moore.
You give credit to that entire coaching staff.
He had eight completions, eight incompletions all afternoon, Jalen Hertz.
Four of them were throwaways, like good throwaways.
So he had four like legitimate incompletions.
And one of them was like the drop on the Sequant Barclay.
A couple of them were downfield.
He was much more aggressive in this game.
So just to me, like this was a complete, total, decisive win.
You have big plays on special teams again.
I mean, just a complete team win.
And I got to have a game.
And now they're going to the Super Bowl for the second time in three seasons.
And what is it, the third time in eight?
It's an outstanding, outstanding game.
What from that offensive game plan was most impressive to you or most surprising, I guess?
I think to me, just looking at the, I went back and just think, as the show
was starting, went back and just looked at my notes in terms of what those passes looked like.
And you saw a good mix. I don't have the exact, all the, like the precise numbers, but a lot of
play action, a lot of RPO's. Bo, you mentioned like Dallas Goddard in the RPO game, like getting
that going, much more aggressive down the field, like the downfield throws were there and an open
option here in this game. We saw Jalen hooking up with A.J. Brown. And even when they didn't hit,
you saw some PI penalties called out. You saw positive results with Jalen being aggressive.
down the football field.
And again, these were the things that we were worried about coming in
and not just coming into this game,
but over the last couple of months that we just did not see.
And so being able to see that, I think was huge.
But not just the play action, the RPO's.
You saw a couple of like the jet suite motion push passes with Devante Smith.
They went for like quick hitters.
They went to easy completion, just getting the ball out fast,
finding ways to just stay ahead of the sticks.
So to me, like the creativity offensively was, you know,
more than what we've seen in recent weeks.
And to me, like the execution, just outstanding from Jalen Hertz.
To that point, as I'm looking at it now, Fran, and this is interesting.
So time to throw, it was his fourth quickest of the season.
But even though he was throwing the ball down field, this was his shortest air yards per attempt of the season.
So to your point.
My guess being because of the, you had a few that were behind the line of scrimmage from the push passes,
you had a couple others that were receiver screens, the Dallas got it,
were at the line of scrimmage and then you had those RPO's so you were able to balance that
out in terms of how you were affecting them down the football field but they had three completions
of 20 plus that's the same exact number that the Washington commanders had in this game not that
I was tracking it for swoopers standpoint but you know I was just keeping in the game it's important
in the game uh I think when you look at what they were able to do in this football game with
the run game past game there's just I and you know you talked about it too like the guy's
stepping up how I mean how many times did that did Tom
to point out Sequan Barkley and pass protection in this game for completions from Jalen Hertz.
On the first play of the game, A.J. Brown, he's repaying the favor, right? He's setting the table.
He blocks two guys on that pin down block on the Sequan Berkeley 70-yard touchdown.
So everybody kind of chipping in, doing their part, and it leads to a complete team win.
Yeah, on that on that touchdown, the Sequin 60 yard, Fran. You told us all week that this commander's
defense where they were weak in run defense was on the edge and not necessarily up the middle.
what did you see on that play just look they went where it was a misdirection play so when you have a it's called a jet flip
where you're going to have jet action going one way to try and hold those linebackers even if you don't pull them all the way over the other side it holds their eyes for for just a second and that allows those blocks to develop on the outside a j brown he's pinning down on the defensive end and he doesn't need to like completely dismantle dante fowler but again just needs to hold them up just a little bit allow saquan barkley that time to be able to get to get to the defensive end and he doesn't need to like completely dismantle dante faller but again just needs to hold them up just a little bit allow saquan barkley that time to be able to get to the
the perimeter. It just so happened that AJ did such a good job on Fowler. It created a traffic jam
there that Bobby Wagner got stuck in. So, you know, that's basically all they needed at that point
was just you get that crease. And then you got Sequin Barclay's speed to get to the corner. And then
once he gets to the second level with the head of steam, he's just so hard to get to the ground.
And that's what we've seen all season long on those big play runs is that, you know, you get him
up to the second level, and that's half the battle. And then he's able to do the rest. And that's why he's
been so good at creating those forced mis-tackles, you know, the rushing yards over-expected,
that metric from next-gen stats. The reason why he's so high there is that he gets up to the
second level at top speed. And when you're that big and that powerful, but you're also that
fast, you're just tough to get to the ground. How about the other side of the ball, friend,
on defense, you know, it's a little bit tougher when you're just watching the TV copy. But what
jumped out to you from Vic Fangio's game plan? So he was pressured, Jay,
and Daniels on 25% of his dropbacks.
He finished three of 10 for 22 yards when he was under pressure.
They did an outstanding job of making sure they get to him with four,
not giving up bodies in coverage.
It was the sixth fastest time that Jaden Daniels had to get rid of the football in this game.
He was pressured on average in 2.44 seconds last week against the,
against the Lions.
It was 2.56 in this game.
And so what that means to me,
you know, last week it was a lot of like blitz, blitz, blitz, blitz.
from Detroit. And it was a lot of fast pressure. He's able to escape and make a big play.
Here in this one, the Eagles leaned more often on those four-man rushes and those exchange
pressures. And by leaving seven guys in coverage, now you forced him to kind of read things out a
little bit. And one of the things that stood out just looking at these numbers as well,
on those plays where he held it for over two and a half seconds, Jaden Daniels was 11 of 24
for 100 yards. And so they did such a great job again of forcing him to hold on to the football,
second guess what he was seeing, and just take away.
those throws. Even Quinyon Mitchell,
outstanding job in this game.
Yeah, I've got the numbers for him
versus Terry McLaren. Give it to me, friend.
Yeah, Quinnia, Quinnion Mitchell,
make sure you're sitting down. Keep that laptop.
Keep that laptop. Yeah, we don't need,
we don't even see anything in your day.
Keep that lap back on your lap.
Quinnion Mitchell lined up against McLaren on 36
routes, aligned up
in press coverage on half of those plays.
So 18 snaps and press
coverage. One catch for
seven yards on four targets for Terry McLaren going up against Quinyan.
Obviously, we saw the interception late in the game.
But again, just a total team defensive effort.
You guys mentioned the sack from Nolan Smith and what he was able to do.
We saw Jalen Carter get home.
We saw Jordan Davis get home.
And Jamie, you and Rich, you guys asked me like, all right, what can they do to try and keep Jordan
Dave or keep Jaden Daniels in the pocket?
We saw that same kind of like bait and switch there where you spike the defensive
bend inside, you loop guys around
and you have guys there waiting.
Oren Burke's sack, that was
that exact kind of idea, where
you're basically trying to force him out
to his right and you have somebody there waiting
for him. It was just a perfectly executed
game plan from Vic Fangio.
Uncle Vic.
Fantastic. You got any questions for Fran?
Yeah, Fran. So I got a question for you.
What did you think about the turnovers?
What was that 10 turnovers in three games?
I mean, that's the thing.
You know, and when it rains, it pours.
And for the Eagles right now, though, what they're getting defensively.
We talk about how, like, those, the sacks coming bunches,
and it's the same with turnovers right now.
They are just flying to the football.
Guys are just so precise with those peanut punches, getting the ball out on the ground.
But then also just the place be, the guys just flying down the field.
We saw another one on kickoff coverage again.
So two weeks in a row, we've now, we've now seen those turnovers on special teams.
So I think when you're looking at this team right now,
they're just playing with a ton of confidence.
I would expect that to continue.
continue when they go down to the big easy and take on whoever this is, if it's going to be Buffalo or if it's going to be KC.
Right now, Kansas City is up seven three.
The first quarter about to come to a close.
Yeah, Patrick Mahomes is fumbled again.
Fran, we all learned something new today in the game and that's that the rest could apparently just award touchdowns if the other team cheats enough.
Were you aware of that?
No.
I'm like sitting here and through parts of the game, I was actually on the phone with Meg and with Francis.
Francis, by the way, said that when he grows up, he wants to climb a, climb a telephone, Paul.
So he's watching the celebration of home right now.
I took, I took Jane last year to the, you know, they have at the Italian market, the, the
Yeah, yeah, the pool climbing festival.
And for like, still, every now and then she will just start chanting, climb, not pole.
Crime, not pole.
Yeah, he was, he's having a good time right now.
But, no, but he was like cracking up at the fact that Louvre kept jumping over there.
He was like, do you just do it again?
Why do this keep happening?
But the fact that like the ref came out two times and had to say something,
I was like the third time, he's just going to like send them to bed without dinner.
Like it's just like, all right, they were putting these guys on time out.
I've never seen anything like that.
And then follow up.
Is Jalen Carter?
Was that his audition tape to join the international box slapping association or whatever the hell that was?
Oh, man.
That was so funny.
Yeah.
He, I mean, look, he's, he's such a monster.
And we saw it in the run game.
we saw it in the past game.
He jumped.
There was a, Vinnie, did you see the clip that was going around from the first half
where they tried to wham block him?
And they brought a tight end from the opposite side of the formation to go low on him.
And he hurtled it.
The guy went low and he just jumped on it, landed on his feet like a cat,
and he was going to chasing the play from the backside.
I mean, he's just, he's a freak of nature.
And my last question for you is, who do your game ball go to?
Ooh, Xfinity, Mobile Gameball.
I think I'm giving it to Jaylin.
I think I'm going to give it to Jalen Hertz.
I think with the way that he played a ton of credit to him, you know,
obviously dealing with the knee injury to come out and have this kind of performance
knowing like full well that the past game has not been up to their standard for the majority
of this season.
You know, not just the majority of this season, the past game has not been where it needs
to be.
Oh, where, where, yeah, for it to turn up the way that it did here in this one, it gives
you a lot of confidence, certainly going into the biggest game.
of the year. Do you care at all who they play in this game, Fran?
I was just talking.
Fire words. I was going back and forth about it.
Because I honestly, I hadn't thought about it much.
I was like, so, you know, I've been obviously busy down here.
So I hadn't thought about like, all right, who was a better matchup for the Eagles?
I think I'm landing on Buffalo.
And I do think Buffalo wins the game.
I think I think Buffalo might be a little bit of a better matchup only because that defense,
you know, they're a little bit more liable to give up big plays on the ground.
I think that schematically they do fewer things to the mess with the quarterback.
Like they are still a tough defense to go against,
but they're not going to bring like the crazy blitzes and coverage rotations that Steve
Spagnolo is going to bring.
So to me, I think that, but it's probably a better matchup going up against the bills,
but I don't know.
You don't want to sign up to play against Josh Allen either.
And you wouldn't have to play the 12th man, the referees.
So that counts for something.
I will say, if it is the bills, I mean, I would think they like,
49 of the 50 states are going to be rooting for Buffalo.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, definitely.
Absolutely.
The underdog mentality will certainly be back in full force.
The bad guys.
Hey, Fran, do you think Nolan is having that run like Von Miller?
That one run he had, what was that?
Super Bowl MVP?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, but during the playoffs, he was on a tear.
I mean, it's been, hold on really quick.
I'm just going to bring it up all I'm sitting here.
He has just been on such a heater in terms of just getting after the quarterback
impact.
in the game. I'm taking notes throughout the game. It felt like every drive, Nolan Smith is at the
football in the run game. Yeah, he's had, he's had four sacks in the play. He's had four sacks so far in the
post season. Two, he had a, yeah, he had two sacks against Green Bay. He had one against the Rams.
He had one tonight. He had two, two sacks in the final three games, three in the last five in the
regular season. Obviously, he finished the regular season with six and a half. But, you know,
what he's done, not just against the past, but the way that he's able to impact the run on a consistent
and bases as well. I mean, he's, he has certainly, like, taking a step into being like,
you know, not a blue chip rusher, but in terms of a guy that is constantly impacting the game,
I think you can look at Nolan Smith and say that he's one of those guys.
Have you ever friend been, been to the Hard Rock Cafe in Philadelphia?
I have. I'm afraid to see what it looks like when I come back into town next Friday.
It's gone. Five days from now, I'm afraid to see what happened.
It's up and smoke, man. That thing is rubble.
We're going to have to rebuild.
We're going to do a PHY charity event where we're just going to rebuild it.
Brick by brick.
Yeah.
Hey, brick by brick, step by step.
You know, we can, we can start a go fund me.
And we will, we will rock hard once again.
Get the super chats going.
All right, friend.
Give us a little bit before you go.
Give us a tease of what, what is to come tomorrow because it's a big day for the diehards.
Yeah.
Obviously, look, all Eagles fans are full steam ahead for the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks.
but I'm down in Dallas right now.
I leave first thing tomorrow morning for Mobile, Alabama, for the Senior Bowl.
Do you get eyes on Shadi?
I didn't get eyes on Shottie.
I think he was a little busy, but Joe Shane and Brian Dable were down here.
My guess is they probably were not watching this game.
I don't know what they've been in the last three hours.
My guess is they were doing everything can to not watch TV.
Joe Shane, man.
But there were a bunch of GMs down here, a bunch of head coaches, a bunch of coordinators.
So, you know, taking in the talent here.
But then basically the rest of the NFL will be,
descending on Mobile Alabama tomorrow and it's going to be it'll be a fun week but to your point
over on all phtoI.com you'll be able to check out all of my notes on all the players I've studied so
far for the NFL draft so we're up over 150 profiles 150 players you can go and check out all
of my notes on all of those guys I won't post any notes on a player that I haven't done a
what I would say like even a partial evaluation on so if you see a player that you've had your eye on
in college and it's not up there that's why I've seen that in
Not enough to do a full eval, but it will be coming here in the coming weeks.
And so 150 evals and a lot more to come.
And then coverage from the Senior Bowl, coverage from the Shrine ball,
all that here coming up this week on all p.hloi.com.
We joke about it, Fran, but is Fran wearing pants right now?
We've only got the top view of you.
This database is like you are finally showing the world your full frontal self.
This is like all of this stuff that has been held forever.
you're now like opening the curtain to the world.
I hope you're impressed, Beau.
I've seen it before and I am impressed.
It's real and it's spectacular.
All right, Fran.
Congratulations to Francis and Meg and we'll talk to later this week.
Yep, sounds good. We'll talk soon, guys.
Enjoy the rest of the show.
All right, good stuff.
Let me frame it to you guys this way.
And Rich, I'll start with you.
Who are you like, who are you happiest for?
Who am I happiest for?
I think Zach Bond is way up there.
Just a guy who, you know,
like was like the third signing on the first day of free agency.
We thought, okay,
maybe he's going to be a special teamer.
And then not only have this season where he's made himself so much money,
not only have this season where he's established himself
at a completely new position and like rose up to be one of the best players at that position,
but he's going to start in the Super Bowl.
And he's going to be a problem for whoever,
wins this game tonight i you know and just honestly watching the miced up this week it was like
jalen hurts was the i guess the main character of the eagles miced up but they had zach bond
miced up and like just the way that he like put his arm around jaylon carter after it was over and was
like bro you won that game for us man that was awesome he just seems like an awesome dude i've really
enjoyed his interactions with nicoby all year i think zach bonn is my number one i'm happy for
that's a really good one i was talking to uh i wanted to because zach bond was asked about c j garner
Johnson because they played together in New Orleans.
So I wanted to know what C.J. Gardner and Johnson's perspective was on Zach Bond.
And at first he did like, oh, he's a terrible player.
He's terrible teammate.
You know, he's doing the joking thing.
But then he's like, yeah, like I'm so proud of him for how far he's come.
Then they do their little handshake that they've had for like five years.
The Zach Bond story, it's so great.
Like to have been one of his teammates and see him now, you must be like, where did this
come from?
it's it's really maybe one of the most unbelievable stories that i've ever seen going back to new
Orleans to play that yeah that's crazy awesome how about you jami uh real quick i just want to shout out
jesus zoidberg he said i'm happiest for my mom who's going through chemotherapy and watching a team
fight as much as her go birds go mom hell yes this is jesus zoidberg kick that cancer's ass we're all
thinking of you uh i am happiest for seguin to see you know there was a report that came out yesterday
from the New York Post.
I forget the writer who said he passed up
two opportunities with other teams for more money
and he chose here.
He's from here.
He went to Penn State here.
He took an opportunity
behind one of the best offensive lines in football
and he turned it into probably
the greatest running back season ever in NFL history.
I couldn't be happier for the guy that lost
for five years in New York comes here
and now he's going to the biggest game
on the biggest stage.
With the birds.
Benny, how about you?
You know who comes to mind?
Jalen comes to mind a lot too.
Your perspective on Mackay Beckett,
having played with him with the Jets.
And everything that he went through there
and now getting the chance to be a starter
and having never played in a playoff game before
gets to go to a Super Bowl.
Man, and then Pro Bowl.
Yeah.
Super Bowl.
I'm so happy for him, man.
He deserves it.
He works hard.
And, you know, I know we talked about that
on the show before, man, when you go to Stout University,
you become a different dude.
And man, all you got to do is just, you know,
put your right and left foot forward, man.
And I'm definitely happy for him.
Great little celebration with Seguan, too.
I don't know if he caught on his touchdowns.
They did the home run.
Like, it was solid.
I like that.
I'll throw another one out there, Beau.
Vic Fangio.
Yeah.
Right?
A guy who has been.
He's making out for the Phillies.
He's been considered like the godfather of modern defense,
but hasn't really won a lot in the last.
decade, right? He's bounced around. Obviously, the Johnny Gans thing a couple years ago was
pretty awkward. He might have been the defensive coordinator last year to come back home where he said,
I want to finish my career here. This is where I started in this general area. I was an Eagles fan
growing up to orchestrate a worst to first turnaround. It's pretty impressive, man. And there are
guys on this team because a lot of this team was here two years ago when they went, right? But
there are some other veterans. You talk about Mackay Beckton and Vinnie, for you,
When you first went to that Super Bowl in 2017
and you guys stomped the Vikings
in that NFC championship game,
what was going through your mind?
Man, damn, we just did this.
You know, it's something that, you know,
we set a goal for ourselves that summer.
I remember, like, going to, like,
the Eagles playground, you know,
build the playground.
Yeah.
And that's all us, like the players
and everybody was talking about.
And I remember Ashran just saying,
ain't no what if, bro.
We're going to the Super Bowl.
Really?
And everybody just stopped for a second look at them.
Like, shit, we're going to the Super Bowl.
And then, like, it's just crazy to how that season went.
And that,
we mind me mid, coming off that by week,
remember I went by to NovaCare.
I saw Uncle Vet.
Yeah.
And just going off, coming off that by week,
the Eagles has been on a terror,
has a whole group.
Yes, it hasn't been all the way pretty,
but just, listen, when
is it, is,
is the ultimate goal.
And just to see them going at W. Terror, man, it's crazy, man.
So I would say I'm most happy, most happy for, I must say Howie.
Okay.
I'm going to say Howie, man.
You know, to get there two times in three years, and the draft, he's been, like the drafts,
the free agent pickups, the rehiring and firing of OCs and D.C.,
this has been crazy.
It's been like a little chaos over there for, but.
But for them to come out and put this kind of resume together this year, heads off to him, man.
And we talked about this before, but this roster is so much, in addition to the moves he made this off season, the function of what he did like three years ago after the Carson Wentst trade, when they had multiple first round picks and you turn that into getting Jalen Carter after coming off of the Super Bowl.
Like, that's kind of insane.
you know, and we talked about they're the only team in the league that's like in the top 10,
the past five years of total wins and like draft pick equity, which doesn't even include A.J. Brown.
Like they turned just regular first round picks into those picks and A.J. Brown and Jalen Carter.
It's unbelievable what they've pulled off.
And like their success record in the draft the last two years, you mentioned Jalen Carter,
but to get Nolan Smith in the same draft on top of it with your own pick, I mean, if it's not for Jalen Carter or
Nolan Smith right now. And you can say the same thing about Quignan and Cooper de Jean. Like,
you're not going to the Super Bowl. So hats off to the front office. Incredible job.
You want to talk about more like just personal redemption stories. How about Isaiah Rogers who
like, you know, didn't start in this game, but a guy who was like literally banished from the
league for a year and then comes in, makes a bunch of plays when he's called upon this season at a
fumble return last week. And now he gets to go to the Super Bowl. Beast. And you mentioned
Zach Bond too and all this. He joined
Ray Lewis and
actually Devin White, a whiff
on the front office's part, but that's okay
because it doesn't matter. As the only
guy to create three turnovers and three consecutive
playoff games. Wow. As a linebacker, that is.
He had a force fumble and a fumble recovery in this game.
Unbelievable. More super chats to get
through. Let's get a little thumbs up.
As we hear from you. Yeah, make sure that you're liking the video
or subscribing. Tell a friend. Tell a family.
By the way, we are going to be like out in full force
in New Orleans, so we're very much looking forward to that.
We're going to have all kinds of extra content
in addition to the stuff that we always bring you.
So don't worry, we're going to be bringing it 110% down in Nalans.
Cool Papa Bear says, Vinny, they brought the ruckus,
that club on Biotish.
That play was so funny to watch.
It was so funny.
I need to get both with an outright cackle on that one.
Which was the louder cap of me today?
The first Seguan run or the Jalen Carter?
I think the Jalen Carter because I was, the Sequin cackle was a true out of nowhere cackle,
but then I was aware that I was in the press box and so, you know, the Sequin one I can let,
or the Jalen Carter one, we were here among friends. I can, I can let that go.
Musa says, can't believe this team, which we appreciate.
Lawrence Deacons says, LFG, Eagle from London checking in, Bo, please read this in an accent.
Fly Eagles fly. All Jalen does is win. That was very unstead.
Eddie. I was bouncing between different.
I needed a second on that one.
Brent says,
Just need Bo to give Josh Harris the grouse.
We'll get to Josh Harris.
Don't you worry, Brent's, my friend.
Micah Fazed said,
I know Fran is going to the Shrine game,
but is there a chance he can give us some grabby-grabbies from this game?
Love his breakdowns, especially when we humiliate the opponent.
I think we'll get some Fran grabby-grabby-Rabby Super Bowl week.
I think this week he's pretty tied up,
but don't worry.
have two weeks to look forward to this Super Bowl game.
Phillips says Nola, P.H.L. Y meetup, absolutely.
We are going to make that happen as well.
Aaron says go birds.
And Q. Claude.
Loved all the creativity with Goddard.
I thought that really was a fun aspect of this game.
And they seem to come on like a lot of like second and longs to either get them
in third and short, like more manageable situations.
They gave the ball to them twice on handoffs as well, Rich.
Yeah, the reverses and then the RPO's and the four.
flat in Dallas. I don't think he was
100%, but he was still running through tackles
pretty good. And they schemed him up enough
where he was very effective in the passing game.
It was awesome. Matthew Greenwood
gives us a super chat. Shout out, Matthew,
if you have a different question, we will try to
answer that in the chat. And then White
and Crispy says Howie only
drafts players we've heard of.
It's not a bad philosophy. Yeah, maybe not the worst
strategy. We're going to the wall, let's do. Yeah.
Quinion and Cooper DeGine
as you talked about. I mean, what a home run
those guys turned out to be. Totally changed the
face of the second. And there's another guy when you mentioned players you're happy for.
Darius Slay, this could be, yeah, yeah.
This could pot. That could have been possibly his last game at Lincoln Financial Field.
His comments in the locker room this week made it seem like, you know, he's pretty close.
Pretty happy for him because he's, he's kind of oddly taking a lot of fan heat.
You know, I've heard way too much Slay is cook talk. Oh, interesting.
And I think he's been phenomenal this year. Very good. Yeah. Yeah, for a guy that's
34 years old at a position like that.
I think Slay's had a great year.
So pretty happy for him to kind of get a last crack at this and go out on top.
And a great way for us to once again tease the diehard sign up
because Zach has a great story on Darius Slay that's up on all p.hly.com.
Right now he was very aware going into this game that this was probably going to be
his last game at the link.
He's thinking maybe one more year, but he doesn't expect to be back here.
And he's very much aware of that and has been.
still a leader for this young secondary.
So please check out that story from Zach.
All right.
Let's take our second and last break
as we await the arrival at some point
of our friend ZB.
Let's hear from our sponsors.
Starting with our friends at Valley Forge,
who are going to make sure we hear from
Zach in the locker room in a little bit.
But until then, let's talk about Valley Forge.
Weekend, Winter Getaways,
and family-friendly affordability
is all there for you in Valley Forge.
and Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

and it's right here over my shoulder. It's the Ice Shaker and the Grankowski brothers came up with it.
They went on Shark Tank years ago to pitch their product.
And now they're officially licensed with the NFL, NHL, NBA, NCAA, and Major League Baseball,
and it makes the perfect gift.
It was created and used by the Grunk Brothers, and Ice Shakers has sold over one million bottles.
They've changed the game for workout bottles, and they are beautiful.
Just look at that Kelly Green Eagles one.
It's awesome.
They have changed it.
And right now, you can go to Ice Shaker.com and use the code all city 25 to get 25% off your
order. It's kitchen grade stainless steel, so it's not going to absorb the odor like other bottles.
That's the worst. They have the patented twist in Agitator that breaks up powders, or if you're like
me and use it more for tailgating cocktails, it's a great little strainer. And their third party
tested. It'll hold ice for 30 plus hours. And they're customizable. So send in your logo or check out
the custom shop to get customized your favorite bottle. The Agitator works as a great strainer for
those parking lot cocktails.

Ice Shakers.
And once again, I'll tell you that we've got a great deal on the All-City shop.
Some new merch and there's a big sale that was supposed to go live tomorrow,
but the Eagles win.
So we're pushing it ahead if you go to the site tonight, make it happen.
Hey Vin, what did you think of the sort of the chippiness of this game?
We talked about, of course, in week 16, the last time these two teams played Louvo,
injures Jalen Hurts, C.J. Garner Johnson gets thrown out of the game.
There's all the histrionics.
It felt like in this game maybe the, not that they were shying away from it
because we saw like AJ and Devante both going at Latimore,
but the Eagles were sort of more worried about themselves
than the stuff that the commanders were trying to bait them into.
Listen, off the one of the turnovers, all that chippiness went out the window.
Yeah, there's a lot of heads down, you know, but it goes back to, if you go back to that last game,
Jeevina don't get knocked out that game.
Mm-hmm.
You know, it's going to look like I would look today.
And we were saying that and everybody, right?
No, that's not true.
That's a thing.
Listen, I know jailer was out of the game, but, uh, listen, like, the Jen Dales want to come back anyway.
Hello, thank.
It was 23 to BG.
That means 55.
I think there's like a, it ended up working out for the Eagles because the Eagles losing that game gave the commanders enough belief in themselves that they were able to go into Detroit and win and bring a worst caliber team to the Eagles than the NFC championship game.
Whereas if the Eagles had stomped them in that game, they probably don't beat the Lions and then the Eagles have to go to Detroit.
Maybe it all worked out for the Eagles.
Really, Galaxy Brain stuff.
Really playing the long game.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You think they did that on purpose?
Yeah.
CJGJ was like, just to the ref.
Throw me out.
Throw me out. I'm going to see these guys
in a month and a half. Yeah. Yeah, he knew what the magic
words were and he said them on purpose.
Yeah. Jalen just lit up a stogie
in the locker room. He's got pleated pants on.
Quite a celebration. He's bringing pleaded back
and he's lighting up a stogie. Yeah, what did you make of that outfit?
He deserves it. He looks like an R&B singer
from the early 80s. He loves the 90s.
He loves the 90s. I mean, he absolutely
loves cosplay as Michael Jordan. Yes. That is.
And so, I mean, Zach wrote about it. It's like
it's a thing. And so I think he is, I
think he was just trying to channel mj mj has the worst collection of jeans i've ever seen in my life so like
leave those ones at all in the bag of yours it's working it's working right and the other scene
from the locker room which which viny was playing earlier is that gilly was was playing the song
and all can't understand how long long i mean viny was playing it a lot he was playing it like every
three minutes in the second half i'm just so like i said man i'm happy for this team like
You see, don't rally around each other and the way they came together, you know, coming up that by week.
I keep saying that because going into the by week, we're always scratching our head.
But listen, that's how you persevere, you know.
Would you like the update here?
Sure.
The Buffalo Bills are currently up 10 to 7, 4 minutes to go before halftime.
Kansas City currently driving at the 10-yard line.
I see 14-10.
I think they're going in.
We must have just scored on this next play then.
I bet it's going to be an 11-yard pass from Patrick,
Mahomes to Xavier Worth. You're exactly right. He dove for the
bylon, out of bounds. Chiefs
now up 14 to 10, presumably.
Collect your winnings. Yeah. There you do.
By the way, my bet 3-65 NFC champ
plus 700 ticket, just cash.
Nice. When did you put that in?
Preseason. And I have a plus
1,400 Super Bowl ticket.
Nice. So, let's go
birds. How much, who should you
lay on that bad boy? I think only
like 50.
It's not bad. It's not bad.
Yeah. Yeah.
So, that'd be nice.
Some more super chats than we can tell you about.
Matthew.
Oh, no, we already got that one.
NW. Bird says,
long time caller, first time listener.
We're having a third child in July.
Congratulations.
We need the PHLY team to name him.
Ooh, Seqwan, obviously.
Ooh.
Yeah, I mean, Sequan's good.
Sequana, if it's a girl, maybe?
Sequana.
If it's a girl works both ways?
Yeah.
All right.
Let's think here.
Mackay.
Yeah, Mackay.
I mean, I think you could wait and see how the Super Bowl goes and if there's if there's someone there.
Howie?
How is there?
Baby Howie?
I think you could go Dylan because Dylan works for a boy or girl and this way you get to make sure that Dylan McMahon is actually a part of the Super Bowl roster as he should have been in a game when they really needed a backup center.
You know what I mean?
How about that?
By the way, James Bradbury made the official merch shirt on the roster listing on the back.
He is listed on the roster.
Who is?
James Bradbury.
Yeah, well, he is on the roster.
Which is very funny.
White and Crispy, in quotes, Vinny, Howie made everyone look silly.
You nailed that.
And then us to Guam to us, Frankie Louvre's jump needs to be posterized.
That's good.
I did like all the memes of people just jumping through windows.
and that's like Frankie Louvo just I'll tell you what though Frank Lulhu jump I think that's
go watch this off season they're going to say oh got up being a push touch yeah you might be right
he could have hurt somebody yeah I mean I'm very curious about the you know the the refs just
having the ability to just award touchdowns like I'd like to see them just be really liberal
about that like uh off sides touchdown just you know at the 50 yard line I do wonder if
that whole sequence is going to bring back the conversation
this off season, especially if the Eagles with the Super Bowl.
I'm going to tell you why.
Do you remember when everyone was jumping over to block the field goals and all the crows?
Oh, you can't do anymore.
You can't touch anybody.
I'm telling you what's going to happen.
Safety issue.
I mean, it was a huge talking point last year.
And then Troy Vincent basically shut it down right away.
He's like, we talked about it for 10 minutes.
And we were like, no, it's fine.
Yeah.
So I will give, I think we got to give one bit of credit to the commanders on this front.
And you talked about it, Vinny.
given the
you know what happened in the
in the handshake line after the last game
how about Zach Ertz
11 counts for 104 yards
man
and then and then Vinny asks how old he is
and someone says how old he is
and we got a damn
it was like you should know my God man
we love you man but you know
34 years old 11 for 104
in the NFC championship game
it's 34 he was open at
Will there.
Like, I don't, Reed,
Rich was real irritated because
Reed Blank's shit was playing off of him a lot.
But it just seemed like he was, I was getting nobody.
I was a lunatic too. So, yeah.
Yeah.
Any first down was trouble.
I mean, but it was consistent.
Weren't the commanders four for four on fourth down?
And I think Ertz had a couple of those too.
So honestly, a perfect game.
Eagles blow out, but Ertz gets his numbers.
It was the last game.
It was, uh, you did so much and your team lost by 32.
Do you think Siriani told him the opposite this time?
They did have a night.
It looked like they had a,
nice little embrace this time.
I think it would have been funny if Ertz did that.
He was like, hey, had a great game.
It would be funny.
That's pretty good.
All right, let us know what else you want to talk about as we await your wrap.
I'll tell you what, he's having a ball in that locker room.
He's probably having him or snowing.
So, but where's Zach going here?
You know him well.
Well, he wants to go to the press conferences.
He wants to go to jail and he wants to go to Nick.
I imagine.
I think he's making his way around.
As we talked about, there are, there are stories.
league lines galore for this team that was just dominant. I mean, 55 to 23.
The NFC championship game. Most points ever scored in the championship game.
Unbelievable. What a time for it to come together. But they don't pass the ball while.
You see how pretty them deep balls was. Paws. But, you know, deep passes was. But listen,
those things have been missing. And they pulled them out today.
All the credit in the world.
They're really fantastic.
People are telling us that Zach says
Jaylon was smoking a cigar,
as you told us, Jamie,
going with the stoke.
How about Will Shipley?
57 yards on that,
on that carry,
four for 77.
By the way,
Seekwan was happier for Will Shipley
than I think any play he had all you.
Yeah,
he was going nuts.
Yeah, man,
that goes to show you how much work.
You know,
those guys been putting in.
That was his first touchdown.
Yeah, I think so.
Yeah.
Yeah, so.
shout out to Will Shepley, man.
That's how you get shipped done.
You like how I said that's how you get shipped done.
That's good.
Yeah, the rushing yards in this game,
if you want to just look at the, you know,
the tail of the tape.
Eagles had 229 rushing yards.
Commanders at 99.
Yeah, I think they had 7.2 yards per carry
and six rushing touchdowns.
Yeah, and we talked about it at the halftime show.
Every time they give the ball to Brian Robinson or Austin Eccler,
that's just a huge win for the Eagles defense.
Robinson 11 for 36 and Echler 8 for 15.
Yeah. And I mean, the Eagles ran it well.
I thought another pretty key element of this game was,
was Jalen on those empty QB draws?
He was good.
Like he, you know, we wondered all week, how was that knee going to look?
That looked like Jalen Hertz running those.
So it was great.
While we were seeing, when that play went on,
I had a guy text matches from, from Noah Curry's iPad.
Okay.
He said, it hurts.
We outside.
Oh, man.
Funny guys.
I was, I had this conversation during the game.
Our kids, you know, you got young, you know, we're all young kids.
They're spoiled rotten right now.
Oh, bro.
Because Super Bowls and World Series runs have become a thing of norm.
Whereas like growing up, they were few and far between if ever.
Kids today got it good, man.
They really are the golden.
You know, it's the most, I saw the professor tweet this out, the most NFC championship game appearances since like 1990 or something, the Eagles lead the NFC now.
He also tweeted this out too.
Last 20 years, 2004, most NFC championships.
Philadelphia Eagles number one now with four.
Wow.
These kids got a good man.
Can't understand how last a long.
A lot of superpowers.
Zach says that he's on his way up.
So we'll hear from him.
But he's skipping Jalen on our behalf.
Wow.
So that tells you how much it is.
Well, I mean, it's just going to be a bunch of cliches.
Main thing, the main thing.
Well, I've got to watch it on a video.
But he would like, he would like to be there.
He wants to be the official.
Sure.
Voice of PHL.
Make sure that he's representing at all events.
Sean Wolford says this team still hasn't lost a game
when Jalen, AJ, and Devante start and finish the game this season.
That's unbelievable.
I mean, they've only lost three games all year.
And yeah, AJ missed two of them in those first four games.
And then Devante, and then Jay, sorry, Jalen missed the commander's game.
Dude, the Empire State Building.
Yeah, I just looked at that very.
is green.
For who?
Say what?
Say what?
Shane and Mara
continue to be.
Down bad.
That's a very,
that's a very classy building,
I got to say.
I used to work in that building.
Because the bills are playing right now.
Yeah.
The bills aren't New York.
Wow.
I mean.
I mean,
yeah.
Michael Toma.
Thoughts on the end of the half defense
on the Washington field goal.
I know that made you mad and rich.
Yeah, it wasn't good,
but who cares?
Okay.
I think that's a fresh.
That's good perspective.
Yeah, I mean, there have been some time.
That was not ideal.
It was the blitz that allowed Jay and Daniels to scramble.
That was maybe the one call I would imagine Vic would like to have back,
but it's not going to not going to kill him right now.
Roheed.
Shout out to Dickerson and Jergy for sticking it out.
Absolutely.
I mean, two guys who were absolutely playing through a ton of pain.
You saw what Dickerson was just like hobbling about through.
and he has that holding call
and it felt like after that
the Eagles decided to make the switch
but Juergens
who was obviously a pro bowl center
was hurting with his back
so much he wasn't able to start in this game
and then he comes out and plays the second half
guys laying it all in the line for the team
yeah
hopefully those two can get right in these two weeks here
you know yeah
hopefully that need for Dickerson
isn't something serious
because my man was hurting
and then maybe two weeks
is enough for Jurgens to be right
but that would be great if those two could get as close to healthy as they can.
What's like the toughest pain you ever had to play through, Vinnie?
High Anguish, Frank.
Okay.
Oh, my God.
Heard bad.
Bad, bad.
Shut up?
About three times.
Yeah, I mean, you got to.
You know, and then when the shot up is wearing off.
Right.
You like, cut it off.
You know.
No, but
Was that earlier or later in your career?
That was early.
Okay.
That was early.
You know, when you're young, you think you're superman.
I play through this.
I play through that.
But then you start looking like, start looking at like, oh, no, bro, you play like basuta.
And it's like, yeah.
So I would say how I ankle spring.
Okay.
Now, if Eagles do play Andy again, if the Chiefs win this game, how do you feel about that?
Go on and on.
Can't understand how to last so long.
side of super powers.
Listen.
I like it.
At this point, man, the way this team clicking,
I don't care who we play.
I think I've shifted a little to the bills.
Like, I just, the revenge would be sweet against Andy and the Chiefs.
But, like, in the back of my head, that refs element.
I know it's kind of like some people are sick of talking about it.
It's real.
Give us some refs that never, refs the Chief game before.
How about that?
Let's get some new games.
New guys.
Some reps who are going to just give the Eagles touchdown.
Yeah, I like that.
You bring no rest from tonight.
Wow, funny stuff.
I think Zach actually had to go ahead.
This is actually ridiculous.
I believe the commanders, reporters requested a pool report.
Oh, no.
For that.
Are you kidding me?
You can't request a pool report when you lose by 32?
I totally agree.
That is outrageous.
Come on.
You don't understand.
You've been around this team.
It's a really special team.
They're really,
they got the juice
that's loser behavior
yeah that's real bad
isn't that so bad
it was already out it was
what question are you even going to ask
yeah
well you don't need a pool report for that
like there wasn't like a controversial call
that like swung momentum in the game or something
yeah they were losing they were already losing by
uh
well actually you know what
you know what they were down 11 at that point
but it was first and goal at the inch line
like you know
And dude, let's just be honest.
Dune for turnover, it's led to what, 20, 21, 27 points and some craziness like that?
Like, stop it.
Crazy.
We got more super chats.
Everybody's just rolling in it.
I love that.
No, we don't, actually.
We need some more super chats.
I apologize.
Yeah.
What have we not talked about?
Some of the calls that extended drives in the first half for the Eagles.
So there was the holding penalty on Latimore.
which we talked about on,
on Devante Smith.
I think that was a good call.
The Santer is still one
when Sequin's out of bounds
a little bit more tic-y-tack,
but, you know,
got to play smart.
I think they had a bit of a bit of a reputation
on that commander's defense.
Yeah, we talked about it at halftime.
I think if he just pushes them out there,
it's nothing,
but he kind of laid the shoulder
in the white paint.
So that was,
I was fine with that call.
I like it slightly tiki-taggy,
but it's fine.
Because the game had gotten chippy at that point,
the refs probably wanted to calm things down.
Yeah.
And then there was AJ and Latimore.
I guess we haven't talked a lot about AJ.
Yeah.
You know, two pretty quiet games to start the playoffs,
but you're not going to get three quiet games from AJ Brown in a row.
And he was terrific.
I mean,
I think honestly,
the fourth and five play,
the decision to go for it.
It might have been the play of the game.
The pass from Jalen,
the catch from AJ,
huge play.
And the Eagles were off after that.
Yeah,
arguably the turning point of the game,
I think,
because there was Eagles jumped out.
Commanders were coming back.
You're worried,
oh, like the power of Jane Daniels.
You don't want to give that ball back.
I think Nick was maybe a little bit urged into it
by knowing that Dan Quinn was aggressive on fourth down.
I think Jake Elliott's missed field goal earlier than that.
You played a factor.
And for Jayland to make that beautiful throw to AJ was huge, Vinnie.
Man, I keep telling me, you got the best deep pass in the game.
He does.
You know, you can't use the ball word, but the best deep pass.
Yeah.
I think that's where some of the frustration comes.
from with the passing game is because
when he does throw a group and they do go for those
splash plays, the ball's usually on the money.
He got to have the most wins. It does seem like
a low percentage play, but with those guys, it's not
really that. AJ's a better. They're both very
good at that ball in the league. And Jalen throws that
ball really well, which is frustrating because the one time
he didn't throw that. He had one on one. It's like, come on
that's your play. I, it's bowing away
up. I say, um, is
AJ Brown the closest thing we've ever going to see
the T. Yeah. Yeah.
That is crazy. He might be better.
He might be better. But Tio's
probably a top three receiver of all time.
So.
AJ is so good.
And he's always open.
He's been here. He is always open. And you know what?
To that point, I was happy that there was a play in the first half when Jalen was rolling to
his right when usually he would throw that ball out of bounds and he gave AJ a shot.
It was incomplete.
But he threw it downfield to AJ who got a hand on it.
It was almost pass interference.
Like, yeah, those are the kind of players where give him a chance.
That's how good he is.
I don't know if he'll be better than Tio,
but I think talent-wise, he's more talented.
Because Tio was so good, but he would lead the league in drops,
whereas A.J. Brown will lead the league in, like, 50-50 balls.
He almost has better hands than T-O.
T-O is probably, I can't even say a better athlete
because AJ was drafted by Major League Baseball, too.
Yeah.
You like that comparison, huh?
It's like...
They're different, but, like, so dominant.
Tio, I think physically was more ahead of his time.
Yes.
You know, he was more of an outlier physically.
than 20 years of evolution have made AJ Brown.
But I think AJ is more consistent.
I think you're right.
Yeah, absolutely.
At least certainly with the Eagles.
I mean, he's played more than once.
I didn't watch every Titans game.
T.O.
We said this on the halftime show, too.
Devante Smith cleats, the Iverson cleats.
So sweet.
So fresh.
Made a nice catch on the sideline.
Really got to highlight those cleats.
4 for 45. That was nice.
Yeah, you got to bring them back in the big game there, DeVante.
We do have a couple more super chats that we can hit.
Idiot Sandwich
First time Washington reporters
Care to Ask Questions this week
Very funny
Grace Kevin Burkart
Trolling TB
Did I miss that?
Yeah at the end
When they showed Nick Foles
Oh that's pretty good
What did you say?
Well they were talking about the Super Bowl
And I'm pretty sure
Burkart was like
Hey did what were you doing that that night
That's pretty good
Nice
That's pretty good
And then Benjamin Vanston says
Did I miss Jamie talking about Q's interception
I'll give you another chance
Quinyonian
That was awesome
I'm so happy for him.
You know, all season, he's bottled up,
and then he gets, what, two in the last four weeks?
Quignon, just the league's not ready.
All right.
It's time to go to the Valley Forge Locker Room Report.
Valleyforge.org can help you discover hidden gems,
endless activities, and tons of places to stay in Montcoe.
Get started planning that next getaway today,
Valleyforge.org, make it family time and make it Monco.
And we welcome Zach Berman.
Hi, Zach. How you doing?
Hey, I just came up from the locker room.
I'm ready to give a report on what I observed from the Super Bowl winning.
Oh, I'm sorry, from the team going to the Super Bowl, the NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles locker room.
So I walked into that locker room.
And you had, yes.
Yes, I see.
Yeah, I see.
I see.
I'm trying to give a report on what I observed from the locker room here, right?
So I see.
I mean, I think this game is much more about.
the Pilled Off Eagles and Josh Harris.
So that's what I'm trying to share here.
But yeah, I see the Josh Harris thing on a stick.
Yes.
Do they give out an FACC championships to teams that take over the Hard Rock Cafe?
We're going to revitalize Market East, one overpriced beer at a time.
Okay.
I don't know which one.
Yeah.
That's a nice bit there.
The bit I want to tell you about what happened in this.
No, this bit I want to tell you about what happened in the locker room down here, okay?
Because it was a fascinating scene to be there.
And you walk in and first off, the music's pumping.
Gilly is there dancing with everybody.
They're having a little dance contest in there.
You know, Jelen Hertz lights up the victory cigar in the back corner.
Brandon Graham, you know, chatting with Brandon Graham
about the season.
Gilly comes over and Gilly says,
I'm going to give you an exclusive.
You're playing, right?
And Brandon Graham starts laughing and says you'll find out tomorrow
or we'll find out tomorrow.
Oh, tomorrow.
We'll find out tomorrow.
Zach, he got to break the news on your own.
You got to break the news for you on a dog.
I think you got to break you, Vinny?
Please.
Yeah, please.
So, yeah, so.
So, what I tried to do in there was just capture the scene, was, was, used my senses to
observe what was going on.
You know, you saw players who, they, they weren't changing out of their, they weren't
changing out of their uniform.
They were all taking pictures with the NFC Championship trophy.
Quinnian Mitchell, Cooper the Gene, taking that picture together.
You saw Howie Roseman in there with Gil.
You saw Howie Roseman walking around looking for the.
Super Bowl hat.
Jeffrey Lurie in there.
A lot of hugs going around all around that, that locker room.
And, you know, Nick Siriani wearing a Mike Quick jersey at one point comes out,
soaks it all in.
He tells Gilly that they're undefeated with Gilly coming in into the locker room.
You saw some of Vinny's old teammates in there, Chris Long and Bo Allen in that in the locker
room.
Obviously, you know, these Eagle stars, Seekwon Barkley, they were.
There was, you know, this huge crowd around Sequin Barkley's locker before he was even there.
His mother was outside the locker room doing interviews with the media.
I can keep on going down the list.
You know, A.J. Brown talking about two Super Bowls in three years and really just capturing this moment.
And I've spoken before about how these have been very business-like post-game locker rooms.
Night was a night of celebration.
That's what jumped out when you watched it.
It was a night of celebration.
So what were some of the scenes?
I mean, who did you talk to?
What was their perspective on everything that has happened this season to go from
Sao Paulo to Nalans?
Well said, yeah.
So, well, for this game specifically, it was interesting speaking to Cam Juergens,
who said, what was Lane Johnson's quote this week about execution and emotion?
And he said the Eagles had execution.
The commanders had emotion, right?
It was a very funny scene when AJ and Lathamore were going back and forth,
like Lane just like walked away.
He's like,
it was very much what he was talking about about the execution.
Sorry, go ahead.
Exactly.
Yeah.
So that was,
you know,
Cam Juergens was really emphasizing the amount of like,
you know,
talking that Washington did there.
That's what really jumped out.
It jumped out, you know,
yeah, Jordan Milana was talking about how much they were talking.
the that that Washington team um you know going around the locker room like the
turnovers that that was a big point of emphasis but but big picture here it was you know
you heard Brandon Graham walking off the field saying two and two you guys thought we
weren't going to be here uh the the way this team has forced turnovers since uh the
the buy week in particular the way they've played since the bye week
Like, you know, this was a night where it was everything came together, everything that they talked about.
And Janelan Hertz, I haven't spoken to Jalen, Jailen speaking now, but, you know, hearing players talk about Jailen Hurt, Jordan Milada saying that when that whole sequence was going on at the goal line, Jalen was keeping them calm, right?
That was a big thing there.
And, you know, Nick Siriani showed specific footage to the team last night.
And he really tried to highlight three things.
He wanted to highlight love.
And his encapsulation of love was Nolan Smith coming out of the tunnel holding Nicobo Dean's jersey.
He wanted to talk about something about like togetherness.
And he had the clip of Nicopi and Jalen Carter having that sack.
And Jalen Carter thanking Ngoby for setting him up there.
And then he showed a clip of Jill and Hertz saying it doesn't matter what anyone says, right?
Like that was another big point of emphasis.
And I asked Nick, because I saw Nick at one point taking in the scene.
And I asked him what he was thinking about.
And Nick said he was thinking about the next game because he said that they've won this before and they've had this before.
And he said they're more hungry or is it hungrier?
He did the same bit as he did the other day.
But he said they're more hungry than ever.
So he said what he was thinking about when he was when he was taking in the locker room was like the next game, that they've had that type of locker room before.
They've had the NFC championship locker before.
And then it was the what he was thinking about was winning that next one.
And that that, yeah, I think I think that resonated because you,
You saw, for instance, the clip at the end of the game last year, I'm sorry, last week on the field where Jayland Hurd says to Saquan one more and Saquan says two more.
You know, and yeah, they're here.
But I had multiple people like behind the scenes people say to me one more, one more.
Like that, I don't want to say it was a rallying cry, but it was it was something that you heard over and over and over again.
AJ Brown said that he's he's happy right now
for the guys who haven't experienced this before
but the guys who haven't won the NFC championship
but yeah this is there's a group of players in that locker room
who were in that quiet who did not have this celebration
in you know two years ago in Arizona
and I think that was on some of their minds tonight
Super chat Zach from Grace
who is very enamored with the with the outfit
She says ZB and his Hamptons fit calling white linen pants and leather harraches under that, if anything at all.
No, black pants under this?
Yeah, yeah, dark pants and Air Force ones.
But I appreciate the compliment on the jacket.
I know I'm always watching at home, and she'll be thrilled to hear that.
Very nice.
I think the Nick story here is appropriate to discuss.
we talked about it earlier
and given out our game balls,
but obviously the season that he has had
and you have chronicled so much of it,
as you sat there and watched him,
watching this and as he's thinking about the next game,
what do you think he was thinking about
in terms of the journey that this season has been?
Yeah, good question, because this,
look, I'll put it this way.
Nick Siriani does not forget, okay?
He might not show it all up there,
but Nick Siriani does not forget.
I'll give you a little,
side anecdote to illustrate that.
There's an outstanding columnist at the Philadelphia Inquirer who wrote a column
earlier this year after Nick had his kids up on his lap at the, you know, at a press conference,
right?
And when that columnist asked the question tonight, Nick said, you notice how I don't have my kids
up here.
which I bet it would have liked to.
Yeah, but that's like, you know, so when you asked about this year for Nick, that comes to mind because Nick has, Nick's worn it this year.
He's taken, he's taken a lot.
And I think even though he acts like it doesn't bother him, like I think it, it, it, this, uh, I, you know, getting to this point.
I think it speaks a lot about him,
but it's,
you know,
there's this thought we've talked about on the show
that like anyone can coach the team.
But Nick's pushed the right buttons.
You know,
he knew the exact score of the highest score
in the playoffs before this, right?
Or, you know,
because he was growing up in Western New York
and remembers watching the Buffalo Bills
and he's heard Frank Drake talk about it, right?
So putting up 50 plus plus
points matter to him tonight, right? And I, you know, you talk about the season that he's had
and what this says about Nick is he had this team respond again and again and again,
two and two when they were calls for his job. Since then, they've lost one game. Okay. And the only
game they've lost since then, their quarterback got knocked out and their, you know, star wide
receiver dropped the pass.
In the NFC championship game, they played their best game of the season.
Like they were outstanding tonight.
So yeah, I think Nick's not ready to say, I told you so.
But I imagine there's a part of Nick that wants to say, I told you so.
Well said.
We will save Jalen for another time since you were not there with Jalen.
Although I'm curious about what you saw from him.
But how about this deal?
defense and the turnover that they continue to produce, what can you say about that group?
Yeah. So, you know, Nick talks about how much they preach us. And you're there, Bo. You're in the
auditorium. You see the signs up there. And like it's, it stood out to him that someone like Will
Shipley, he said, has never, has never really tackled someone before. He has that big play
tonight. And, you know, he talked about how how Gainwell had done the same thing. But when you talk
about this defense, a few things jump out. First off, Zach Bond, man, every single week. Like,
the way he punches the ball. I'm not ready to say defensive player the year, but I'm ready to
say, like, this guy's one of the best defensive players in football this year. And that much is
clear. And he keeps, keeps answering the bell. It is, it's a, it's a pressure.
to watch.
Vinnie wants to know
who's having a better year, you think?
Because he's certainly in that conversation.
I mean, TJ Watt was great.
I would say Patrick Sturtan.
Yeah, Patrick Stratan.
Patrick Stann's up there.
But look, it's not a year.
It's not a year when you have
like the Miles Garrett type season.
What do you got, Rich?
Mack Holland's crazy touchdown catch.
Ooh.
To make it 2116, Buffalo.
So Zach, early,
early gut reaction.
Is there a team you think is a better matchup for the Eagles and the big one?
Well, I think that the bills are the tougher team, but the chiefs, I don't want to say,
my homeowner's is inevitable that that kind of becomes like a cliche, but, but the chiefs know
how to win, you know, and so I would rather see the bills because there's, there's a part of,
there's a part of the chiefs where it's just like you don't want, you don't want to play against
Patrick Holmes in the Super Bowl.
That's kind of the way I feel.
Patrick Mahomes is, it's like seeing Michael Jordan in the NBA finals.
So based on that, but I think the bills are the better team.
I think the bills are the tougher team this year.
But the chiefs are the team that, you know, the chiefs would be the harder out.
That said, you know, if you're into the revenge tour, if you're into like the narrative
of dethroning Goliath,
then that's the Kansas City Chiefs.
What other leftovers from the scene
are worth passing along?
Yeah, so, like, when, you know,
seeing the,
seeing all the players with their families,
that's one thing that really jumped out,
like, you know, guys like Mackay Beckton
and how much, how much this one meant to him,
You know, you can see him with his family.
You can see Devante Smith, you know, holding his baby, you know, 30 minutes after after the game.
You see players who still have the confetti in their shoes on the field down there.
I don't know if you can see behind me.
The lights are a lot of lights are off, but there's family members of players really taking this in.
And, you know, coaches, this is a money-making opportunity for you.
Get that confetti.
Sell it.
confetti, grass, all that stuff.
Scoop it up.
You can be a rich man.
So Nick Siriani, it talked about the sleep deprivation of these coaches.
And yes.
And I would say, you know, seeing like the scouting staff.
I was going to ask you about that.
That those guys took, you know, they're all down there.
You know, a guy's like, you know, Alan walking.
I bring him up because you did a great story on him a few years ago.
and like you you know the life on the road that these guys have and then they're in this like like these guys there's there's no wins and losses really for the scouting staff right you know it's it's kind of subjective and there's so much there's so much that goes into it but but when you see this roster that was put together and you know the amount of time you spend on let's say you know analyzing will shippley right you know can will shippley do this can will shippley do that
And then here you are in the NFC championship game.
And Will Shipley scores his first touchdown.
Or, you know, you go on down the list of the amount of different
the amount of different players who contribute.
You know, there's the pro scouting staff who were, who was looking at Zach Bond's
film.
So, you know, you feel good like for those people because you see them in the celebration.
You know, like Adam Berry on the scouting staff, I saw him taking, you know, taking video.
of the gilly, you know, dance party, if that's what you'll call it.
They were all wearing the whistles, the gilly whistles, okay?
They had these green whistles around their neck.
Oh, no, yeah.
Yeah, so that, that was a big part of it.
For any nonsense.
I saw, you know, Jalen Hertz, like, you know, Jalen Hertz kind of.
of, I'm going to say unveil.
That's not the right word.
But like the first time that he was seen publicly with his now fiancee, right,
was after the NFC championship game a few years ago.
And so you saw him walking off the field with his now fiancee.
Like I just bring up all these different scenes.
But but to me, the stirring ones are, it's, yeah, G.
Alan Hertz lighting that victory cigar in the corner.
So exactly.
And that's like Michael Jordan shot.
So speaking of Hertz, I want you to decipher his answer right here.
Jeff McLean just tweeted this out.
Jalen Hertz on head coach Nick Siriani, I think he finally let me out of my straight jacket.
When asked to clarify, Hertz passed, but he seemed he was referencing the offensive constraints on him since the by week.
What do you make of that?
I mean, yeah, like I do think that there's just been this major emphasis to don't turn the ball over.
And I think, look, they were, they were in the red in turnover differential, the first four games of the season.
And they have the by week.
Since then, they've been in the red once.
I think there was a major emphasis to Jaywin, don't turn the ball over.
If you think about those first four shows we had, what were the conversations about often?
Jayal and turning the ball over.
So when you talk about the straight jacket, maybe that's what the reference was.
I will listen back or I'll watch it back to see if there's any additional context there.
But that's my guess, is they've really been focused on not turn the ball over.
And Jalen probably feels that.
And there's probably a part of Jalen that, look, he's a prideful guy.
And as much as he goes up there and says that winning is all that matters,
Jalen wants to be the reason why they win, right?
He doesn't say it.
But Jailen wants to be the reason why they win.
He's the, it's human nature.
He's the franchise quarterback.
And he doesn't be the game manager label.
I believe Jailen is genuine when he says that he wants to, you know,
that all that matters is winning.
But I do think there's a part of J.
And that looks back at 2022 and the way they played and him going to A.J. Brown and whatnot.
That, that, that, yeah.
So I imagine some of that's involved.
in that comment.
Zach, I know that you are familiar with trips to the Super Bowl.
We've got David Rickle in the chat already calling for the next book to come out this
off season.
So we're looking forward to that.
But what does the next week hold in store for the Eagles before they head to Nalans?
Yeah.
So Vinny knows this well because this next week is really when you prepare for the game.
right um you you you you put in your game plan this week you the most important practices you have
a super bowl week are this week is is or uh in terms of leading up to the super bowl is what they
have in the facility this week this will be a work week for the eagles and it's it's not a bi week it is
a work week so they'll they'll be there they'll practice you do a lot of installation because then
when you get to the Super Bowl, they arrive, what, Monday, then Monday night they have
Super Bowl media night.
Or no, I think they arrive Sunday.
Then Monday night, they have Super Bowl media night, right?
And that's a whole frenzy.
And then Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, they're practicing in someone else's
facility.
I do know from talking to Nick Peter, I'm sorry, from talking to Doug Peterson a few years ago,
Doug tried to hold back a few things to put in that week to keep practicing.
intense, but there's, it's not the same. It's not like having practice on, on, on your field.
So a lot of the work you, you try to do in terms of the game planning happens this week.
And so we'll, we'll be able to, you know, the beat writers will be able to talk to,
uh, those players and, and some, and some people this week. But then, and then once you get to
New Orleans, it becomes a spectacle. And that's, that's, that's when the circuit,
yeah, that's when it's more of a circus than anything else.
Hey, Zach, real quick, I know you probably don't have, like, medical updates, but Landon Dickerson, Cam Juergens, how are they feeling? How were they moving around? Any idea on kind of what exactly is up with the two of them? Yeah, I saw Landon come off the field. Yeah, I saw Landon come off the field. I did not see Landon in the locker room. I saw Cam, you know, Cam Juerg was talking about his locker, gutted it out. Yeah, I mean, I think.
think that's that's I think you put it well gutty performances I don't think it again I'm not
diagnosing anything here but I I think that two weeks will be beneficial to both of them then
then Kenny gainwell I saw him walking around he he does have a concussion and we saw with the way
it's jail and sometimes concussions last but two weeks uh gives him time to recover but um you know
I think the big injury to monitor is is brandy Graham because brandy Graham said there
He said, we'll find out tomorrow.
So I think Brandon might be waiting for his radio show to put out the news.
But if Vinny Curry, if Vinny Curry can get it, I'm saying here, my guess is Brandon Graham's playing in the Super Bowl.
Wow.
In which case, in which case I would say, you know, poor Chuck Harris, man.
Poor Chuck Harris.
Poor Bryce is not going to get on the field.
Yeah, I mean, but, you know, Chuck Harris is probably going to get cut, is my guess, right?
Chuck Harris is on the practice squad.
You think they're going to cut him for the practice squad?
He's on the practice.
You're right.
I'm sorry about that.
Okay.
Sorry, you're correct.
So, no.
That's okay.
For Paris Campbell then, right?
Or I got to say who would, who's roster spot he would take.
But yeah, I'm expecting Brandon Graham back for the Super Bowl.
And that's not based on anything Brandon said tonight.
But that's just kind of my.
my instinct and in line with some of the things I've heard during the past month and a half.
Zach, he told us about Nick Siriani's emphasis on love in the pregame messaging.
I want you to know that Pete Newman in the chat says, ZB, we love you, I'm drunk.
Look, it's a well-deserved drunkenness.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, look.
Will you not return?
Was a part of you not return serve?
You want me to say, Pete, I love you?
Pete, I love you.
All the sickos.
All the sickos.
Honestly, I, I, I, you, the sickos are the only people that I would, and the people on the set and the people in the studio are the only people that I would miss the jail and hers press conference after clenching the NFC championship game for.
Because I, I knew that the show was dragging on, the gentleman was taking his time.
I had to get up here.
So yeah, I, you know, love his.
It's not just what you say, it's what you do, right?
And so I hope I exhibit my love.
Access and my words.
People won't say it.
There you got.
I love all the viewers.
I appreciate you.
You have a lot of places you can turn right now for content.
And I am honestly, truly grateful and appreciative and love you for the fact that you come to us.
So, Zach, did you learn a new rule tonight in the NFL like the rest of us?
Oh, yes.
Yeah.
Yeah, I had to talk to the officials.
after this game.
That is brutal.
That is brutal.
I got to say,
man,
I hope every Washington story leads with that.
I hope that's on the front page.
I hope that's on the front page of the Washington Post because,
like,
man,
I'm talking to Sean Hockley down there.
Like,
there's a celebration going on on the field.
And I'm asking Sean Hockley about,
about Frankie Louvo.
And it's like,
it was the 30-point game.
Like,
don't turn the ball over four times.
That's what it.
was right you know uh it's it's a it's a it's a what an 11 point game and you fumble the
uh you you fumble the ensuing kickoff right uh so yeah i mean but look i i was not familiar
with that rule i just speak to sean hockley about it um they can they can judge a 10 year i'll
tell you what sean hockley said uh because i did ask and look i i get it everyone has a different
job to do uh i i i i
said the sequence at the goal line with the quarterback sneaks,
how was it determined that they were unfair acts by Frankie Louvo?
And he said, simply put,
a team cannot commit multiple fouls in an effort to prevent the score.
So number four,
jumped the ball a couple of times.
That was, then the warning came in.
Again, if it's meant to prevent a score,
we can essentially award a score.
So, yeah, I was not familiar with that,
but now I know.
You talked about,
I want to test your love a little bit,
so I can just ask if,
you'll join me for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.
You're really fixated on the Hard Rock Cafe thing.
It's the funniest thing that I've ever seen.
And it is so incredibly D.C. to think that
a national chain represents like local cuisine
and culture.
Hey, Zach, I think I got something interesting.
Yeah, let's hear.
I'd love to see you right about this.
You're saving.
You're saving Zach.
Yeah, yeah.
You know what I mean?
But February night.
Sequin.
It's my boy.
Say what?
It's his birthday.
Say what?
Sequin's birthday.
Oh, yeah.
Super Bowl.
Vinnie?
I spoke to, I spoke to Sequin about this before.
Yeah.
You're absolutely right, man.
This is how cool is that?
How cool is that?
that Sequin.
I'm telling you now,
Sequin Barclay is going to be the star of, like,
Super Bowl week.
He is going to be,
Sequin is going to,
he's going to be the biggest story,
and I think he's going to turn it on, right?
He's going to have his Michael Strayhan moment at the Super Bowl.
And it's also Cooper DeGine's birthday as well.
Cool.
Is that right?
Yeah.
So, Zach,
Seaguan is going to get the rushing record.
can you say that it's the greatest running back season ever?
Good question.
I mean, well, yeah, I mean, but I agree with what Seekon said.
That Barry Sanders season, I remember Barry Sanders having it.
Barry Sanders was incredible.
I like to say comparison is the thief of joy, right?
But I have no issue saying Sequin's season is the best ever.
But in terms of like the home run runs are, we talked last week about the big runs he had against the Rams.
against Washington now, he's had
he's had four
touchdowns of over 20 yards
and when he takes off
like the first play of the game, how poetic
was that, right?
So yeah, I mean, his
season is absolutely special.
All right, Zach,
give us a little bit of a tease
of what people can read on all
p.chly.com if they become a diehard
and today is the time to do it
because it's a great deal to become a diehard.
Yeah.
I kind of have to sort through
that. I think what I'll do is
in at least the main article is I'll
paint the picture
of the locker room. I'll take the reader where they
was. I'll take the reader where they weren't.
I'll show gilly dancing and I'll show
J. I'll show J.1. Hertz puffing the cigar
and I'll show the
different embraces that were going on,
the different conversations that were going on
and kind of what this
means to certain guys. And then
I'll probably have a follow-up article
like more game specific, probably
probably the way Jowen played or the defense forcing turnovers.
I can write Sequin.
There's so many different directions to go with that.
But the first thing I'll write is the scene.
I'm actually thinking of heading down to the field right after the,
you know, I have to do my stand-up for True Mark.
And I'm thinking of going down and doing it on the field
if the lighting's okay.
Because, look, as my man smells that money.
No, I'm not going to pick up the confetti,
but as long as they let me down there.
because I see the security guards clearing people off.
But I will try to get down.
I'll tell them I know Vinnie Curry,
and hopefully that will help me out.
All right, Zach, look forward to it.
But no, I didn't answer your question about the Hard Rock Cafe.
Honestly, I, yeah, I mean.
You should do a show, though, this week.
It's good.
Yeah, like, it is.
It was kind of like laughable.
You know, it's hard to get.
We didn't.
We tried to seat the tables.
Plant our flag.
I don't know how it's like a personal affront, right?
I mean, but, and being a, look, you know, well, there's a lot of great restaurants in D.C., Bo.
D.C. is a good food city. You just have to know where to turn.
Yeah, some of their most popular ones are from Stephen Starr, Stolen Valor.
But, no, this was the, the commanders, I'll say this. And I said this on the pregame show.
I thought there was a better chance tonight for a blowout than that.
an upset.
And I commend, you know, there's a lot of respect in that locker room for Jaden
Daniels and Logan Deckerets had a really good game.
Those two teams weren't in the same ballpark as far as I'm concerned tonight.
Like the Eagles were so much better than them.
I mean, the Eagles put up a 50 spot, right?
And I understand late in the game.
I think he's gone for some four downs.
Specifically that commander's defense was, was not a championship caliber unit.
Yeah.
So it surprises me that there was a sentiment, you know, at least nationally, that Washington was going to win this game.
I understand they were hot and I understand they had a hot quarterback, but like the Eagles are bona fide heavyweight.
And I think that the big thing I think about this year is we've spoken in the past with our, you know,
friend of former co-host, Shield Capadia, that like the best seasons are the ones that, the ones
that are the unexpected ones.
And this is the challenge with this team was this is what this was the expected.
It's like this was the expectation.
Yeah.
If they didn't make it to the championship game, if they didn't make it to the Super Bowl,
this season would have been considered, I don't want to say failure,
but it would have been considered underachieving.
And so there's, to me, this is like, you know, this is,
there's something we said about going pole for pole for lack of better.
Or is it pole to pole?
what's the expression?
The horse racing term, pole to pole.
Climb that pole.
No, it's pull to pole.
No, not climb to pole.
Yeah, pull to pole.
Like, you know, I thought going into the year.
I don't know.
Wire to wire.
Yeah, the Eagles were the, I mean, I thought the Eagles and the Niners and the Lions were the three best teams in the NFC going into the year.
And here the Eagles are the last team standing.
They earned it.
They earned it.
They are, you know, I saw Marlon Humphrey's tweet tonight, that the Eagles were the best team they played.
if it was the best team in football,
I wouldn't disagree.
I think they are.
There's a reason they're going to the Super Bowl.
Zach Berman,
thank you so much.
You earned it.
You earned the,
like four hours of combined sleep
you're going to get over the next two weeks.
We'll look forward to it.
That's the job, right?
You know, pressure is a privilege.
Oh, my dear.
That's the, we all have got it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, pressure is a privilege, right?
Like how many, think about how many people cover teams around the NFL who want to cover.
Would you hear that first?
Who want to cover a Super Bowl team?
So, yeah, what, that pressure is a privilege?
Yeah.
I think I heard it growing up, but I know Vinnie Curry said in 2017.
No, no, no, no.
I said a couple weeks ago.
We just talked about, you know.
That's something I'll tell us all the whole time.
Yeah, exactly.
So as Jim Harbaal says, who has it better than us, right?
Complete no cell.
All right, guys.
I'm going to get down on the field.
If they let me down there.
Thank you, Zach.
All right, let's close out with some remaining super chats before we get going
and watch the second half of this Chiefs' Bill's game to see who the Eagles are going to play.
We've got E. Roses who says Washington on its way to being a bigger rivalry than the Cowboys.
They're going to be NFL darlings and a trendy Super Bowl pick.
It's a team that now has competency,
which the rest of the division cannot say.
It was a nice moment in the parking lots I saw earlier
when the commanders fans and Eagles fans
came together to do a Dallas sucks chant.
Oh, that's nice.
Warms the heart.
Yeah.
Worms the heart.
That's nice.
The cockles of the heart.
Adam, our friend Adam, says,
curious what you guys think about the connection on this team.
Lots of talk last week about how much everyone is thankful
to be part of the squad,
underrated championship quality, IMO.
What do you think about, well, go ahead.
I mean, you've been in a lot of rooms.
Yeah.
I mean, I didn't have a doubt in my mind, you know.
So I won't call me personally won't call that, you know, on the radio.
Okay.
But on the, on the Nick emphasizing, like, love and the connection between the guys on the
team, how much do you think that matters?
A hundred percent matters, especially everything that they, you know, all these crazy
stories that was coming out with tensions and things like.
that so to actually hit a reset button and remind you know everyone that you know we're
playing for each other I thought that was pretty cool I think it's the little things
like say Kwan reacting to Will Shipley been doing that all year and he has he's done it
all year he had a chance earlier to get more yards and garbage time and he said no let
the young guys play and him reacting to Will Shipley's run like that tells you everything
and then the Rams game the first game can a game well touchdown he was going
absolutely crazy and then when with the sayquan got got like cheap shot it and
and Jalen got my man face.
You never seen Jilling get nobody.
Yeah.
Oh.
And AJ was getting in people's face all game today when other people.
When DeMonte got a hit,
AJ was right up in his face.
You know,
that's the good stuff.
I'm going all the way back to whatever it was Wednesday when Jalen Hurts was playing
pool in the locker room with like Darren Kinnard.
I knew it was over that.
Jailen,
if Jalens got that swag this week,
he's like,
yeah, it's this game's over.
Max C says Jalen,
just because we don't,
doesn't mean we can't hurts.
That's fair.
They played a different way today
That proved that they can play that way sometimes
Dylan says Nick Siriani's emphasis on the turnover differential
And explosive plays is a big part of why the Eagles are going to the Super Bowl
Well, Bo, that's Dylan M
Could it be?
That's a different Dylan spelling
I'm aware, but he's obviously not going to come in, D-Y-L-A-N
He might be right
It might be his burner
Yeah, it could just be me
Yeah, no, I mean
I am a little bit downfall of like just because you emphasize it means that that you it happens
because every coaching staff is theoretically emphasizing turnovers but there is something to
they rep this stuff that you know as as they will say every single team meeting Nick pounds them on
it and they have been so good at like those peanut punches we talked about there they really have
been so good at forcing turnover 10 turnovers and three games in the playoffs is insane and zero on offense
10.0 and
Sequan's hitting home runs every game.
It's, yeah, it's the formula. It's a good formula.
NW. Bird, did Zach ever share why they call it the Snoopy?
That'll be a nice Super Bowl week
thing for him to work on.
Dave says,
Sequin and Dijin were born on February 9th.
Super Bowl 59 is on February 9th.
33 plus 26 equals 59.
Let's see how this age is.
Numbers go.
Ooh, it's a sign.
It's a bit of a numbers game.
Very nice.
Jared just got home from the link.
What a game!
This team has the feeling,
and in the words of the best band in America,
so ready for this.
Go birds.
All right.
Okay.
What more could you add to that?
Roheet with a heart.
We appreciate that.
We love you too.
And Hoflax says,
I'm so glad none of these players
have to fake a smile
at the Pro Bowl next weekend.
Yeah.
All right.
The Pro Bowl does suck.
it's a little better.
What are they doing now?
Flag football?
Yeah, the games.
And, stuff.
Yeah.
It's better than it was.
I mean, watching a Pro Bowl game was terrible.
All right.
We're going to let everybody go watch the second half of this AFC championship game to find out who the Eagles are going to play.
Remember, not only is there a great deal on diehard membership right now, but there is also a huge sale at the All-City.
PHLY merch store.
We got new shirts to celebrate the Eagles going to the Super Bowl.
So, you know, fly your flag.
Rep us, you know, no big deal.
All right, before we get going, final thoughts, Rich,
what's the thing from this game that you will remember the most you think?
I think it's the first Sequin run.
Yeah.
As good as Jaylen played the entire game, as good as the turnovers were,
it's just like, you know, the commanders have that long drive
and Sequant just sets the tone right away with like,
I can hit a home run whenever I want.
If you are not playing good defense,
I am going to take this 60 yards and score.
Just the best running back season I've certainly ever seen it.
And he ditched the bit about Marshall Falk telling him to be patient and not take the holes.
He just took it right off the bat today.
That's true.
Yeah, right away.
How about you, Jamie?
What will you remember?
I think just the feeling that I don't care who we play next, I really think this team is special.
And they got that kind of team of destiny feeling to them because they did it at every level of this game.
It was a bloodbath.
It's funny.
To me, I don't think of this team as a team.
of destiny. Like the 2017
team, I think of a team.
To me, this is a behemoth. This is just
the most talented roster. It is the most talented
roster. This team is just awesome.
I just don't think the chiefs or bills
are going to stop them. I feel
really good about whoever.
Bring it on. Finney, how about
you? Final thoughts? Anything else
to add? 55
points score.
Is that the Russian touchdown?
That's nasty work. Fifty-five points
in a championship game.
Nick Sererani has a
drop the mic.
Yeah, I think he's safer next year.
I'd bring him back.
Yeah.
If they run the ball too much
and winning the Super Bowl,
you think you'll still be a conversation.
Get some signs outside.
Yeah.
He'll get a little talking to in the office on Tuesday.
Right before the parade.
Right before the parade.
I'm not going to lie.
If I'm Nick and I'm a little petty,
I'll just,
I'll pull up the meme of run the damn ball.
Do you guys remember that?
The sign outside.
Okay.
Hey, I'm just listening to you guys.
Roll that blunt.
You can't fire me.
I quit.
He's going to win the Super Bowl
and then the,
then right off into the sunset.
All right, that'll do it.
The Eagles in an absolutely dominant performance
in the NFC championship game
defeat the Washington commanders 55 to 23.
They're going to the Super Bowl
for the second time in three years,
third time in eight seasons,
and they're doing it without the help
of the Hard Rock Cafe.
So for Josh and Vinny and Jamie and Jamie and
Jamie and Rich and Fran
and Zelle and Zelle.
Jack and Julia, we thank you so much for watching with us.
We will talk to you the rest of the week.
We're going to have bonus shows.
We're going to have all kinds of extra stuff during the Super Bowl week.
A hard rock fundraiser, perhaps.
Yeah, absolutely.
All of that good stuff.
We will talk to you tomorrow and a lot after that.
And as always, we love you.
Go birds!
