Starting point is 00:00:00 Go Birds. Welcome in to the P-H-L-Y Eagles pre-game show podcast presented by our friends at Miller Light. It's the original light beer since 1975, and to this day, it is still the best one. Why? Because it's simple. It tastes like a light beer should taste. Welcome in. Jamie Lynch, Fran Duffy, Rich Hoffman with you. We got Julia behind the scenes. We're going to check in momentarily with Zach Berman down from Lincoln Financial Field. But, This is a big one tonight. It's Vinnie Curry Night for us here at PHLY. Our co-workers being honored. You can't ruin Vinny Curry night. But Fran and Rich, Tim McMahon has tweeted this out earlier. Control of the division is up for grabs tonight. The importance of this game, the Eagles enter with a 63% chance of winning the NFC East.
Starting point is 00:00:50 It increases to 81% with a win, drops down to 38% with a loss. I don't want to say the division is on the line. because it's not, but this is a huge division game. I mean, honestly, whoever wins this game is going to be, the hype train is going to be unreal for them for the rest of the year when it comes to the NFC East. And whoever
Starting point is 00:01:11 loses, can it kind of be on fraud watch? Because I think when you look at both teams in terms of who they've beaten, who they've lost to, that will be the narrative. I'm not saying that's true about either team, but that will be the narrative surrounding both, and it'll be tougher. That'll be the questions they'll be answering next week.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Those are high stakes. You either win the division, and the hype train is off the rails or your frauds. But I mean, look, guys, I've been looking at this Washington team the entire year, and you look at their schedule the rest of the way. There are not a ton of obvious losses for a team that, like you said, Fran, like they have not beaten a ton of good teams to this point. But they've really handled business so far. So you do have to hold serve in this game the night, particularly with the Eagles.
Starting point is 00:01:52 I think those stats bear that out. Jamie? Yeah, yeah. There are two losses against playoff caliber teams, the Steelers and Ravens. they kind of went toe to toe with comically jumped offside at a hard count last weekend for the walkoff win for the Steelers. But yeah, what makes this game so big and so important and, you know, all eyes are on you tonight is this is the future of the division. You have a rivalry starting with Jaden Daniels and Jalen Hertz. And let's be serious. This is the division now. The Dallas Cowboys
Starting point is 00:02:22 are a joke. New York Giants are going to be rebuilding. This is it. This is Primo. Steel-on-steel quarterback play here and really excited to watch this rivalry begin here tonight. Fran, what can we expect if somebody out there hasn't watched Jaden Daniels yet so far this year? He protects the ball at an extraordinary rate. He's mobile. He's cool under pressure. He's kind of the total package. Yeah, not your typical rookie quarterback in terms of how well he protects the football.
Starting point is 00:02:49 And he is the most electric quarterback in the NFL right now in terms of his ability to make any throw in the playbook. He can stress you at every single level of the field. He makes some outstanding throws outside the numbers on every single game. But then also what he can do is a runner. And he's created some huge plays with his legs. He's been the best scrambling quarterback in the NFL so far this season, guys. And so this will be a big test for the discipline of this Eagles unit. Certainly Vic Fangio's group has played really, really well over the last month and change.
Starting point is 00:03:17 But this is a new kind of test. They have not gone up against a quarterback like this. Now, he's coming off his worst game. Last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he had his worst completion percentage. He had his lowest rushing yard total. He's coming off that rib injury from a couple of weeks ago. Don't know how much that's still impacting him. But I think when you look at it, it's going to be a big test regardless for this Eagles defense.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Fran, I was reading your notes, which you can check out if you are a diehard. Do it. All-P-H-L-Y.com. And it reminded me that this is the return tonight, the return home for Brian Johnson. And you mentioned in your notes that this reminds you a little bit more of a Brian Johnson offense than a Cliff Kingsbury offense with Jane Daniels. can you kind of expand on what that means? Does that just mean more balls down the field, more balls outside the numbers? What specifically is sticking out to you in that regard?
Starting point is 00:04:04 Yeah, with Cliff Kingsbury and the Cardinals, he comes from that Mike Leach, air raid style where the ball's out fast, it's yards after catch, a ton of screens, which there are a lot of screens in this offense, so that certainly is a part of it. But the big thing is the vertical element of this offense. There's so many more downfield throws than what we saw from Cliff Kingsbury and the Cardinals over the course of his time out there out west in the desert. So when you're looking at Kyler Murray and Hollywood Brown and DeAndre Hopkins,
Starting point is 00:04:30 it was more like the quick stuff outside the numbers. Here with Washington and with Daniels, it's a lot of deep digs and deep posts. And they're against stressing the vertical part of the field. And so while those screens are going to be a part of it, I think that you're going to see Daniels, his ability to make those throws within rhythm from the pocket. That's something he's going to want to try and do in this game. So Pittsburgh last weekend did a really good job against a banged-up Washington offensive line, Fran, in blitzing him.
Starting point is 00:04:55 importantly, keeping him immobile out of the pocket. Is there anything from that game plan that Mike Tomlin and the Steelers implemented last weekend that the Eagles might want to say, hey, we want some of that tonight. Yeah, on early downs, they really mixed up their coverages. They disguised what they were trying to do. That's always been a staple of Vic Fangio's defenses that they do a good job of doing that. And so I think you'll see that certainly from Fangio's group tonight. But the big thing that kind of surprised me was that when they got to third down,
Starting point is 00:05:22 Pittsburgh, they played with dime defense, so six DBs on the field. and they play with a lot of man-to-man coverage. And the reason why that surprised me, you typically don't see a lot of man-to-man coverage against mobile quarterbacks because if you got your eyes off the quarterback watching your man in coverage, well, that's where those scrambles can happen
Starting point is 00:05:37 and that's where Daniels can make you pay. Now, what the Pittsburgh Steelers did was they, you mentioned it, Jamie, they used a lot of five-man rushes, and they used that linebacker, Patrick Queen, the lone linebacker on the field, really athletic, really rangy. He's got the ability to cover a lot of ground. So if Daniels does break the pocket,
Starting point is 00:05:54 he's got the ability to cut him off at the past. Now, do the Eagles feel confident in Nacobi Dean doing that? Probably not. Zach Bonn, even still, he's a little bit more athletic than Nicobe. I don't know that he'll be asked to do that. So that's why I kind of wonder, could this be a Sidney Brown coming out party? Could they lean into Dime package and bring Sidney Brown out to be that guy for this defense? That's something I'll watch.
Starting point is 00:06:14 And we'll get a sense of that very early. My guess is on third down. We'll get us to the first like third and five, third and six. Keep an eye out for that. Love that. We're going to go down to Lincoln Financial Field here. as it is the return of Jordan Myelotta to the offense. We'll go through the inactives with Zach here.
Starting point is 00:06:31 But let's welcome him in. Mr. Zach Berman down from Lincoln Financial Field. Zach, what's up, buddy? Hey, doing great. Good to see you guys. You got a nice concert tonight with Jason Kelsey and Mount Joy out in the one end of the stadium. How's the vibe down at Lincoln Financial Field tonight? Yeah, other than the Ospreys. This was probably like the most excited, you know,
Starting point is 00:06:54 Matt's been Matt, I'm Matt Quinn with that Mel Joy. It's been for show. It's a good atmosphere. I was, I went to check it out. You know, Matt, of course, is a friend of the show. Mount Joy, as I think Jamie wrote on Twitter, is the official band of the Ph.L.Y. Eagles show. I'm not a big music connoisseur that might surprise some people.
Starting point is 00:07:14 I have a great appreciation for Mount Joy. And Kelsey was there. It was a huge crowd. It was a huge crowd for that. I walked around the Concours. I walked around the parking lot of bit. This is a stadium that's excited, that's energized for really the most meaningful Eagles Commanders game in a long time.
Starting point is 00:07:31 I was talking to you and Jamie. I'm sorry, you and Rich about this earlier in the end of the week. This is the first time both teams have records of more than one game above 500 since 2000. And you think they play every year. That's striking. It's really a high leverage game here for both teams. Any takeaways from the inactives? Obviously, big return with Jordan Myelata.
Starting point is 00:07:53 coming back in the lineup, anything jump out to you there, Zach? Yeah, so I mean, if you really want to get into weeds, which I know we do here, I am curious if something were to happen to Cam Juergens, my guess is Landon Dickerson would slide inside. And I bring that up because Nick Gates is inactive, right? So the fact that that's, that's really the only thing that struck my attention. I was curious to see what they would do at Backup Center, if it would be Jack Driscoll up or if it would be Nick Gates up.
Starting point is 00:08:22 And so I think you'll probably see Len Dickerson slide over. Of course, Eagles and Eagles fans hope that doesn't happen. On the commander side, the kicker situation, which we knew going into the game, Zane Gonzalez was elevated, so Zing Gonzalez is playing here. Brian Robinson's active for Washington. So not as much from the inactive. That's noteworthy. But pregame warmups, there were a few noteworthy things here.
Starting point is 00:08:47 That was my next question. You're a real pro, Zach. Let us know. What did you observe? Let's start with Eagles. And what struck me was Bryce Huff was not involved in any of the pregame alignments. Right. So they go through the starters, the backups, four-man front, the five-man front.
Starting point is 00:09:09 And Bryce Huffton, he was not in any of them. And he was the only active player in the front seven who was not mixing it, right? You know, like with the backup linebackers, Ben Van Sumer was out there. at one point, you know, and he's the fifth linebacker with the, you know, all the depthy tackles were out there. All, you know, but J. Alex Hunt was really taking all the work on both even fronts and on fronts, uh, as, you know, as the backup edge rusher. So that's, that struck me as interesting. Now, Bryce Huff is dealing with a thumb injury. You heard Vic Banja talk about it. And he does have, you know, cast on that thumb. I'm fascinated to see what the
Starting point is 00:09:47 usage is for Bryce Huff here because they've been mixing him in. on some third downs, but really not that many. Then on Washington side, now I'll tip my cap here to Professor Selman, Brandon Coleman was the left tackle on Washington side. So seeing that, we were talking during the week, is it going to be Carmelois Lucas, is going to be Brandon Coleman.
Starting point is 00:10:08 The fact that it was Brandon Coleman, I think, is definitely noeworthy. And credit to Fran, Fran, I think saw that coming earlier. Zach, just going back to the defensive end rotation, the outside linebacker rotation. There was a lot of buzz with the fans. Everyone was itching to know what Jailix Hunt looked like last week. Have you heard anything in the building behind the scenes
Starting point is 00:10:28 about what the defensive staff's impression was of the rookie in his first meaningful action? Yeah. So I heard more from, you know, players in the locker room. That's Beau there. I figured it was Beau, Zach. Yeah. We assume that was Boe.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Yeah. So, you know, And I got to say, I've been hearing this were a few weeks about about Jalx Hunt's progress. And it's why it's tried to kind of tease it on the show. I asked Vic Fangio about it this week. There was there's there's a lot of excitement and optimism about the way Jalx Hunt has played behind the scenes and the way he played last week. Right. Like, you know, you see the volume of snaps that he took.
Starting point is 00:11:16 And if you're not kind of tuned in. on everything that's going on with the Eagles, they'll say, yeah, well, all the backups played last week. But 13 of his 24 snaps came in the first half, right? So that shows you, this was not mop-up duty. This was because he's a part of the game plan. He brings length, he brings athleticism. I spoke to Jay Oaks Hunt this week.
Starting point is 00:11:37 One thing that he said was that you have to make quick decisions in the NFL. And I read about this today on all PHLY, and he went back and he watched his film from training camp, from mini-camp, and where he sees the most growth is making the decision about what he's going to do on that play much quicker. So you talk about instincts, and Fran was all over this in the draft. You know, a small school player who was a converted safety, that you're wondering when are those instincts going to come? He's very raw.
Starting point is 00:12:07 He's a real smart guy, I believe where, right? And so you've seen the rapid development and the mental side of the game, and that's a credit to J.L. I thought this would be a redshirt year. It clearly isn't. So Jalick's Hunt, hopefully, is a good Eagles pass rusher down the line. They are honoring a former very good Eagles pass rusher who we know. ZB, I know this is an important game. The division lead is on the line, biggest game of the year.
Starting point is 00:12:33 But what has Vinnie Curry Knight been like so far? Yeah, so Bo was actually, I'm breaking news here, I suppose. But I think Bo got an inside look of Vinny before the game. So when Bo is on the show afterwards, on the postgame show, not the show afterwards, the postgame show, Bo can really tell you everything about Vinny and with much more kind of insight and education than I can. I saw him down on the sideline, Vinny. He'll be involved in, you know, pregame and halftime. But Bo will really give a real sense.
Starting point is 00:13:13 And I'll say having covered Vinnie's entire career in Philly, like well-deserved. I'm not just saying that he's because he's our colleague here. Underrated Eagle, important player on the Super Bowl team, not someone you can really judge based on like the volume being statistical production. But when you watch and play, when you speak to the other edge rushers on that team, when you speak to the other D-Lyman, when you speak to the other defensive players, such an important part of the team. And you look, by the way, you know, money often talks and the contracts that the Eagles gave him,
Starting point is 00:13:45 which because of the importance that he provided. Yes, he'll be the first to tell us, Zach. He did all the dirty work that let everybody else thrive. But a very, very cool night for Vinny and his family. I hope they have a great time. Zach, it's a big night for me as part of the Quignan-Mitchell president of the fan club. He's going to have a good test here with Scary Terry, who does line up on the left side.
Starting point is 00:14:07 So those two are going to face off a lot this evening. Fair to say, defensive rookie of the year hype will be palatable. on a national stage tonight if he performs well? Yeah, certainly on a national stage, if he performs well, the awareness will be there. I mean, if you're watching week and week out like all of us are, you see how well he's playing. But he's not, you know, this statistics aren't there.
Starting point is 00:14:32 I mean, compared to someone like Jared Verst with the Rams, you certainly have more eye-popping. Bill says Dylan McMahon. I can't read that. Tell him to move it over a little. We can't say. Okay. Dylan McMahon.
Starting point is 00:14:48 We remember. We remember. All right. Got to do a professional broadcast here, right? So, yes, as I was saying with Quigionan Mitchell, yeah, Jared Verst is, he's, like, the numbers jump out more there. But Quiguanon's been everything we just to know for and more. And I spoke to Quingon this, this week about, like, the statistical part of it, because he doesn't have the interceptions. And he has a lot of almost interceptions.
Starting point is 00:15:14 And, you know, Darius Slay said earlier this year, there is an adjustment for rookies not having the strike on the ball. Putting on said, he's past that now. He can see the ball. He thinks the interceptions are coming. He obviously knows the type of receiver, Terry McLaren. His Terry has had at least 99 receiving yards of three the past four weeks. So he's really playing well recently. He's someone who, you know, Dave Slay some trouble even early in Terry Spear.
Starting point is 00:15:39 He's so precise with the way he runs. Actually, a quick Terry McLaren anecdote, okay? if you ask Jeffrey Lurie who they missed out on in that JJ Arthago white side draft, everyone talks about D.K. Meckad, right? Because, you know, D.K. has been outstanding. The player that the Eagles are really kicking themselves over missing is not D.K. It's Terry McClaren. Because D.K. wasn't a scouting situation.
Starting point is 00:16:04 D.K. was more a medical grade there. But Terry McClaren, who was drafted one round later, you know, early third round, he's the one who Jefford, Lori, will tell you. he's he's the guy they missed out on. There's a lot of respect in the building for the way he's played. Another quick Quignan Mitchell note, you know, and all of us, you know, I know some of you guys on the set, like the gamble and some action, right?
Starting point is 00:16:30 Hell yeah, bet three, six, five, baby. Yeah, so Quignat Mitchell, he's used to playing on Thursdays, Tuesdays, right? Ooh. So I guess that. I love it. Yeah. Well, I asked about that. He actually turned to me, he said, but you know, when they had those games, they should have a week to prepare for them. Like they were going from like Wednesday to Tuesday or something like that. He's like he's never quite had to turn around like this. So he said, this is quick. He's going to learn a lot about the lead this week. All right. It's going to be a great night. We will obviously check in with you after the game, Zach. What is your final thoughts slash prediction here on the way out?
Starting point is 00:17:13 Yeah, you know, I think the Eagles are the more talented teams. And that's, I keep, I give a lot of credit to Washington. The stats bear it out. This is, this is not a flu offensively. But I just think the Eagles have had more talent on both sides of the ball. I'm a believer now in Eagles defense. I wasn't so much before the Cincinnati game really converted me. Now, this is going to be a major test for them.
Starting point is 00:17:37 We know that. I think the Eagles are going to be able to move the ball. I think they're going to be able to run well. I think that AJ, and Devante both are going to find some, you know, soft spots in that cover three. And it wants to, you know, if you look at at the games Washington's played this year, they've allowed, you know, at least 28 points, I think, four times this season. And I see the Eagles scoring.
Starting point is 00:18:03 And so as long as the defense holds their own, as long as the goal to avoid's turnovers, I have Eagles winning 30 to 20 in this game. All right. Great stuff. We will check in with you after the game, Zach. Thanks for your time, and we'll talk to you soon. Appreciate it, guys. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:18:17 All right. So inactivs, nothing big there. Zach checks in. We'll get to our best bets momentarily, but Fran, Washington is going to run a hurry-up offense here a little bit. How do you prep for that on a short week? Is it something on a short week where maybe Washington dials that back a little bit? Because guys are beat up, they played a physical Steelers team.
Starting point is 00:18:38 What do you expect in that dynamic of the game? No, I think that they will probably stick with that. throughout the first certainly coming out of the gate i mean they i dana said in this studio on tuesday now or no that was wednesday wednesday show uh yeah weird week yeah weird week on wednesday show that they did actually in the first three quarters it's like 64 of the time i mean they are just constantly putting the pressure on from the from the the pacing of play so i would expect that they will stick to that now the big thing with the eagles that you know if they were mixing and matching personnel groupings all the time that'd be one thing but
Starting point is 00:19:09 since cooper dejean is entered the lineup they've been in nickel like like 95, 97% of the time. They don't get out of the nickel package. So I don't think that you'll have those kind of situations. Now, they still have rotations along the defensive line. They'll be able to check out of those. If the offense subs out, the defense will be able to sub out. But I think the fact that they stick in nickel as much as they do, I'm not as worried
Starting point is 00:19:30 as much about the hurry up. Friend, just a more general question for you because, you know, Zach said that he thought the Eagles have the more talented team. And I think a lot of people believe that. What do you attribute, I guess, Washington's, success to? Is it the quarterback? Is it the coaching staff? Because when I look at the R-Lads depth chart and I look at the names,
Starting point is 00:19:49 it's not the most inspiring group, but they And Lathmore's out tonight, but they've played really well this year. Who were you given most of the credit to that? Yeah, I would give credit to the coaching staff and Jaden Daniels. You know, I think that they do a good job schematically. And I've said this a number of times on these shows this week.
Starting point is 00:20:05 They put, they do a lot to put stress on you in every way, defensively, and offensively. They are going to challenge you. They are going to try and see if they can out tough you. So they're going to run the ball. I talked about what Jaden Daniels does to stress you with his legs and with his arm defensively. They're going to blitz and they're going to play a lot of man coverage and they're going to have a lot of speed on the field. And so yeah, they're going to give up some plays, but they're going to play hard. They're going to play physical. And I think that's just
Starting point is 00:20:27 allowed them to kind of will themselves to victory. Now they've also preyed on some bad teams, but so of the Eagles up to this point. And so that's why this is going to be a big test for both of these teams. All right. Let's talk about the Eagles offensive side of the ball. Fran, the Washington defense rushing-wise stinks. This seems like an obvious big Sequin Barkley night. I feel like on these short weeks, it's easier to get a running game consistent than it is a passing game. Do you expect a big Sequin evening?
Starting point is 00:20:54 I do. I would expect that this offense, this run game is going to be vertical right down Washington's throw. To me, that's the best way to attack them. I think when you have that much speed on the field that Washington does have, you want to try and go against that by just running right at them. You've seen Duran Payne get moved by double teams at times this year. The defensive ends are a little bit lighter. The linebackers a little bit lighter.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Bobby Wagner's a vet, and he's good at playing through contact. But outside of that, everybody else in that front seven, I think, can be had in the downhill run game. So I would imagine that that's the way the Eagles are trying to attack this one. And it's worth noting Tim McManus dropped an article at ESPN.com today about something that I think baldy is kind of hinted at on our platforms that there was a run-the-ball meeting after the by with Lane Johnson, Jordan Milata, and Landon Dickerson, sitting on some couches in Nick Siriani's office. I'm sure they're probably pretty big couches of all three of those guys can fit on them.
Starting point is 00:21:49 But obviously, as we, you know, as Fran has noted, and a bunch of people, the Eagles have become a very run-heavy team. Well, Rich, I remember doing the show with you, and we had Zach on, and I was just looking at the best teams in the league. And, you know, the trends are cyclical in the NFL. And, you know, my theory is that cornerback play has gotten better. quarterbacks aren't lighting it up as much this year. And the best teams in the NFL right now are running the football very, very well.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Eagles have one of the best, you know, use the man. I know you have to worry about workload at some point and all of that. But when a team is as bad as the commanders are on rush defense, take advantage of it. No, I think when you look at the Eagles' ability to get movement with those double teams, and we know what Lane Johnson and McCoy-Becton do together. But having Jordan Mila back in the lineup, I was just going to ask you. Fred Johnson has done an admirable job. He has. He's done a nice job filling in, but I mean, he's not Jordan, especially in the run game with Jordan's ability to create movement with Landon Dickerson, especially side by side. The Eagles will take advantage of that today.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Another guy for the Eagles that stands to perform very well, very well versus the commanders. That's A.J. Brown. In two games versus Washington last year, A.J. Brown caught 17 passes on 21 targets for 305 yards and four touchdowns. kind of feels like it's prime for an offensive type of explosion tonight. No, Emmanuel Forbes this time. No, well, I mean, for Washington's sake, hopefully not. Forbes has not really sniffed the field much this year, certainly over the last month. But look, I love the matchup for the past catchers on the outside. I mean, Washington secondary, there's a reason why they made that deal for Latimore. They knew they had a hole there.
Starting point is 00:23:25 They're playing Mikey Sanders still, the rookie second round pick outside. They want him to be the nickel corner. But they're playing him outside by necessity right now. I like Benjamin St. Juice. I think he's a talented corner. He's their number one guy. They probably feel better about him as like a really good number two. But that's kind of where they're at right now. And I feel like the Eagles will be able to attack outside of St. Juice and try and go away from him in this football game. All right. Let's get to me and Bo's best bets here presented by Bet365. Find out why it's never ordinary at Bet365. Use promo code P H.L.L.365 at sign up. You can get $150 in bonus bets when you bet $10 after your first $5 wage. All right, let's start with Bose. You guys can let me know your thoughts on Bose. He's going Jahan Dotson, the revenge game versus his old team. I feel like this is a lock.
Starting point is 00:24:13 Over seven and a half receiving yards. What do you think? I mean, I felt good about his Calcutera five and a half last week, and I thought that was stealing money and that didn't hit. So it's tough about it. But I do think in this one. Sirianni is going to want him to feel good. They're going to make a point to try and get him to football.
Starting point is 00:24:27 If the first play is not a hard count, it'll be a Jehan Dazzo. I think this could be over on the first play. I'm with you, Rich. Under center play action, because they've done that like three of the last four weeks on the first place. So under center play action, two Jahan Dotson after trying the hard count. Bo's next bet is Jalen Hertz. And I'm kind of some patico here with him on one of my plays.
Starting point is 00:24:45 Over longest completion, over 38 and a half yards. So that's what Bo has. Now, I was looking over the player props. A.J. Brown, 40 plus yard reception was plus 265. I kind of like that. I feel like AJ's going to bust a big play tonight and get in the end. zone. So give me the AJ Brown 40-yard plus play. And then I'm going Zach Bond, the NFC defensive player of the week. Over four and a half tackles in this game, Brian Robinson back for
Starting point is 00:25:14 the commanders. I feel like a running game is a rookie quarterback's best friend when things get hard. So I feel like Zach Bond's going to have a big impact today. Yeah, Vaughn's tackle rate is like one of the best in football, a top five in terms of defender. So I think in terms of his ability to get some stops here against Robinson. against Echler against Daniels. They want to run the football. They've been a really good running team throughout the course of the season.
Starting point is 00:25:37 So I like that Zach Ball in one a lot. All right. Let's get into our predictions as it's almost kickoff time. Rich, why don't you start us off? I agree with Zach. You know, I think the Eagles have the more talented team. I love the way they have played over this last month.
Starting point is 00:25:50 I understand that they're going to play a much better quarterback besides Joe Barrow than they have played over the past month. But they're trending in the right direction. They got to rest their starters in the fourth quarter of the game last week. I think that's huge. Yeah. And I think it's just a good matchup. Like I think as Fran has discussed, like, they should be able to run the ball against these guys.
Starting point is 00:26:08 That's what they're good at. And if you look at basically any of the stats for run defense that Washington has, if you look at just yards per carry, success rate, whatever, they're all bad. So, you know, maybe you start with pounding the ball early, then you get into the play action game, hit some of those big plays that you guys just put on the best bets. I think the Eagles win. I think they win kind of easy. And I think they put up a bunch of points tonight.
Starting point is 00:26:31 I think they're going to win. 3420. Oh, that's very close to my score. Fran. What do you got? I actually have the same score as Zach. I had written down earlier today. 3120 birds. I think that you look at the run game. I agree with Rich. I mean, you look at the Washington offense against the Eagles, the Eagles defense. That's good on good. The Eagles offense should be able to beat up on this Washington defense. I just don't think they have the horses yet. I have a lot of faith in Dan Quinn and that team to be able to surround some of the talent they do have. But I just don't think they have it right now. They do play hard. They play fast. They can't turn the.
Starting point is 00:27:02 the ball over the Eagles. And this way, you don't want to let them into the game by silly fumbles in the pocket or turning the ball over in the red zone. But overall, I think the talent wins out. I think the Eagles win this one by two scores. All right. Nice. I think it's going to be an offensive explosion as well. I had 34-24 written down because I do respect the hell out of Jane Daniels. So I think he'll have some success tonight, but the Eagles defense is humming. Now, you can join us. We are going to go out to our living room. I'm going to crack a Miller light. We're going to order some dinner. And we're going to be streaming us. Watching a game.
Starting point is 00:27:34 And Fran and his note-taking and me and Rich will be out on the couch. So you can watch the game along with us, Miller Light in hand. Go Birds. Thanks to everybody for tuning in to this edition of the P.H.O.I. Eagles pregame show presented by Miller Light. We'll see you on the other side for our watch-along. Then we'll be back in here at halftime and then post-game with the man of the evening. I believe Vinny Curry is coming in here on the post-game show. So we'll see you all soon.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Go birds. Y'all silly like the mayor.
