Zach Berman, Bo-Wolf, nice to meet you.
How you doing?
Good to see you in the studio again.
How was your weekend?
My weekend was nice.
I saw you both days.
That made it a good weekend.
Got to see football practice.
That made it a nice weekend.
Big announcement before the show, you told me and Julia, you have resolved from now on, you're going to start wearing pants to work.
Okay.
I think context is required here, like much of the things we discuss.
Our studio is cold.
David Letterman can perform here.
Okay.
Here at Allstate, we do not skimp on the air conditioning.
So, yeah.
So I was simply making a reference to the fact that, you know, from a comfort level.
It's warm outside, but I can wear jeans in a hoodie in here, maybe a button down if it's a big show, right?
Okay.
Got a big show coming up this week.
Yeah, I think I got dressed up more for that, right?
But I was actually on the phone with my cousin on the way over here, and we were talking about that.
He said, Osprey's week.
I said, I'm only on the show for an hour.
And he said, what?
How are you only on the show for an hour?
Last year was like three and a half.
I said, I got a flight to catch.
Some people are dedicated to the show and some people are not.
If you wanted me at the Ospreys for three hours, you would have booked it on a day when I wasn't taking a flight to the West Coast.
I think you know why that's not the case.
I think I do.
Exactly.
So I am excited for the Ospreys.
I'm excited for what's ahead for the Ph.L.I. Eagle Show.
What was the highlight of your weekend, Zach?
Seeing you.
When you say that, everybody knows you're not telling the truth.
And it makes me feel like a buffoon.
The highlight of my weekend.
If I may, well, anytime I get to spend with my wife and kids, I enjoy.
But if I'm giving you something unique this weekend, I got home yesterday.
And I saw the physical copy of the book, the franchise.
All right.
It comes out September 24th, but my...
Wherever books are sold.
Wherever books are sold.
My copy.
I got a copy over here.
Yeah.
So that's really rewarding to see.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
You know, you put, it's the Mark Twain line.
I believe it was Mark Twain.
Maybe it was Oscar Wilde who said it.
But it's better.
It's better.
I don't like to write.
I like to have written.
No, I like writing.
But the process of writing a book is arduous, is menacing sometimes, frustrating, vexing.
There are a lot of times when.
A lot of time spent on Thesaurus.
dot com I imagine.
No, I don't have to look those up.
I know that.
But the comparison, I've never run a marathon, okay?
But I imagine when you run a marathon, well, if I talk to people who run marathons, I ask
them, what do you think during mile nine, right?
You're humming along, but you still got 17 miles to go.
Point three.
What's that?
And point three.
Point two, really.
Point two, yeah.
But maybe you run through the finish line.
You don't get through it.
You really want to be.
Rub it in everybody else's this.
Exactly.
Yes.
So, yeah, when you're in, when you're writing 87,000 words and you're like 18,000 words in,
you're like, I'm never going to finish this.
This is, I could turn around.
I could stop, right?
But you keep chugging, you keep doing it.
You send the manuscript in.
And it's cool when you send that manuscript in.
And then you wait a few months, right?
Because it gets, it says to go to printers and all that.
When you finally see it, when you finally hold it.
it's a neat feeling.
And because it's, it's like you can't buy that.
You can't, you earn that.
Although everybody there could, who's watching it, listen, you can buy it.
Please do buy it.
I'm saying the feeling of, that that's a feeling that, like, it's a sense of accomplishment.
So, yeah, that was the highlight in my weekend.
Good for you.
That's great.
Thank you.
What about your weekend?
The highlight for me was watching cool runnings with Casey on Saturday night.
Oh, feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme.
Come on, Jamaica.
It's Popslet time.
get on up it's bobsled time
they don't say come on jamaica it's bobs that time
are you sure
Julia can you relitigate this
or just litigate it we're not re-litigating it
uh yeah that was the best part of the weekend for very nice
was it Casey's first time to you
I believe it was uh I believe it was
Oscar Wilde or it might have been Mark Twain who said
how about I draw a line down the middle of your head
and make it look like a butt
what compelled you to watch it this weekend
You know, we did that we had the nice Princess Bride.
Now, I will say Cool Runnings not quite as perfectly paced.
It's more downtime than Princess Bride.
But I'm trying to show the movies that I enjoyed as a kid.
Still, still slapped.
There you go.
I love Cool Runnings as a kid.
Okay, it is Get On Up.
It's Get On Up.
Feel the Rhymed.
Get On Up.
It's Bob Sled Time.
Of course it is.
Okay.
I'm not wrong about that.
I said corrected.
Why did I think it was Come on Jamaica?
I don't know.
Okay.
Maybe they said it at one point.
I don't know.
I don't think so.
Okay.
But yeah, love that movie.
I watched Rookie of the Year recently with Reed.
Oh, how did it hold up?
I mean, did Reed want to go around and break his arm?
Yeah, well, that's what we were joking about.
Because I made the joke to him about like throwing fast.
I was like, well, you could break your arm like Henry Rowling Gardner.
And he didn't know the reference.
So I said, oh, it's, fortunately, it's on Disney Plus.
Hold on a second.
You threw that out of him without context and thought he was going to get it?
No, I knew he wasn't going to get it.
So then I explained it to him and we put it on.
And, yeah, he liked it a bit.
There's some of the stuff that's a little dated in it.
Okay.
Yeah, I enjoyed it.
I did find myself crying at the end of Cool Runnings once again.
Just, how could you know?
When they walk.
Yeah, finish the perseverance.
I love that.
What a story.
What a message.
I love that.
Yep.
Okay.
All right, that'll do it for this episode of the PHAO, Eagles podcast, presented by
Ben 365.
Okay, Zach, we had two practices to talk about that we saw on Saturday and Sunday that we didn't have a show for.
So there's plenty to unpack.
These are the two practices after the second preseason game.
So oftentimes you will see a little bit of depth chart reshuffling.
We saw Cooper DeGine back on the practice field.
There were some injuries yesterday.
Number one takeaway for you from the weekend, what would it be?
I'll go to Sunday's practice because it was a scrimmage.
They don't really have that type of practice very often.
there was less individual or the seven on seven stuff more screwing.
And so explain what that means.
What like, yeah, what is the flow of practice like?
So typically you have, so you go through your warmups and you do individual drills.
Well, that's each position group.
And then you do seven on sevens and then the offensive lines in a different part.
And that's when you're kind of working on the stuff you'll do in team stuff, in team drills.
And then you do full teamwork.
and it's kind of the whole practice isn't full teamwork right but full team is the most consequential part of practice
so this practice here was like a scrimmage so they did a full team type setting for the majority of
practice they even had the coaches on an elevated portion of the facility at the facility
to try to mimic a game day like environment they signal the calls in from up top different vantage
point and you really got a better sense of the team now this is the problem here lane johnson had a
veteran day i don't want to jump on your toes here lane johnson had a veteran day so he was not out there
he might be the best player on the team certainly one of the top five players on the team there's a drop
off from lane johnson to fred johnson we know that then macky beckton goes off early in practice
tyler steen's already out okay so brett toth who i don't we're calling him the second team center
third team right tackle, second team right guard, or third team right guard.
He plays all over the place, but now he becomes the right guard.
So now the right side is Fred Johnson and Brett Tooth.
And man, the Eagles defense did a number on this team.
And the offense was visibly frustrated.
Devante Smith, Landon Dickerson, you could see the frustration.
Josh Sweat had three sacks.
Jalen Carter was in the backfield all day.
I thought Nacobo Dean will get to it had.
From my vantage point, the best practice I've seen them have.
in an Eagles uniform.
He might think that's a wild assertation.
It's kind of informed.
I'm not saying that out of the blue.
I might have looked into it.
What does that mean?
You looked back at every practice stuff.
No, I might have asked someone very close to Nicopi Dean.
Okay.
If that was the best practice he had.
And I was, I think the suggestion was he plays like that a lot.
Okay.
Okay.
So when you look at that overall, yeah, you could come out of that concerned about the offense.
But I thought there was mitigating factors in particular Lane Johnson's absence.
They clearly need Lane Johnson out there.
But I thought given the fact that there was some trouble with protection in the practice against the Patriots last Tuesday.
Yeah.
The Eagles were a little leaky on Thursday night now.
The preseason game.
Preseason game.
Now starters didn't play.
But yeah, I do have questions about the death.
Depth offensive line.
Okay.
What's so funny here?
Well, I'm smiling because I said, what's your number one takeaway?
And we got about 45 things.
But that's okay.
I'm passionate about this, okay?
This is like, yeah.
So what mattered the most?
What mattered to most?
Yeah.
If an Eagles fan is tuning in, they, this is a, this is a, not a casual fan, a diehard fan,
but who wasn't reading practice reports from Saturday and Sunday.
Sure.
They watched the preseason game on Thursday night.
Now they're watching this show.
What's the most important thing they need to know?
What's the headline of the newspaper section?
Defense excels.
Offense struggles.
Is that not suffice?
Is that not the headline?
Eagles, defense excels.
Defense excels.
That's, yeah.
Dewey over Truman.
Defense excels.
Defense excels.
over offense.
Yeah, I think that's fine.
Well, you know what, let's, I'm going to, let's, let me follow you along here.
What's your biggest takeaway?
How about that?
I actually think that Cooper DeGine's involvement was the number one takeaway.
From Saturday.
Okay.
But, but let's stick on the defense excels.
Yes.
As you said, it's Brett Tooth for half of practice and Fred Johnson at Wright Taco for the entire
practice.
The defensive line did dominate.
My question for you is, is it possible that this defensive line is going to be
awesome that it's going to be like one of the five best defensive lines in football
i wouldn't say top five but top ten yeah i think this this offensive this defensive line
could be better than i thought it was a week and a half two weeks ago and i think part of it
so let's take brys huff as an example i was saying i hadn't seen enough from brys huff
through the first two weeks well brys huff's going up against lane johnson every day so now you
go up against i and i would say a bad patriots offensive line you read all the coverage
about the Patriots, it talks about how problematic this offensive line is.
But the Eagles dominated them as you discussed on Tuesday's show and as you wrote about.
Okay?
And then, so now you see them without Lane Johnson on the field.
And the defense continues to look like that.
And the thing here is most offensive linemen you see are not going to be Lane Johnson.
Now, they'll be better than Fred Johnson.
They'll be better than...
Poor Fred Johnson.
Well, Nick Siriani talked him up the other night, right?
Yeah.
They'll be better than Fred Johnson.
They'll be better than Vadarian Lowe, right?
I think Fred Johnson is better than Van Dario Lowe.
But I do think this Eagles defensive front can be better than this was a question I had.
I think Giann Carter is going to be awesome this year.
We've been saying that.
He's had a consistently strong camp.
They're getting contributions from a number of different players.
And we'll get to this later on in the show because we'll talk about the rookies.
J.O.X. Hunt has been better than I anticipated.
So the Eagles have a little more depth from the edge rushing group.
I think I'm going to say people are sleeping on Josh Sweat.
I thought Josh Sweat looked good yesterday coming around the edge.
And we talked about how Milton Williams has played well.
We talked about how Jordan Davis has had his moments.
The Eagles are blitzing with more success than I've seen them in recent years from these linebackers.
I don't know if that's sticky or not, but they do have linebackers.
Yeah, because the offense still can't pick up a blitz.
Maybe that, okay?
So I don't know if this is a top five defensive line from like a personnel perspective.
I don't know if that's the case.
There are edge rushers.
You know, you probably have to count 12 edge rushers in the league before you get to an
Eagles one or maybe 15 before you get to an Eagles one.
And that's mildly concerning.
But Jaylon Carter is really good.
And I think this group's can be good.
I think the bull case for the Eagles defense this year, if you think this is going to be
a top 10 defense, I think it is still reliant on the defensive line dominating.
And I know that we have talked about the way that the,
they, you know, allocated resources to the defense this off season was a little bit backwards of
what Howard Roseman typically does. They have tried to build it a little bit more back to front.
And I think there are real reasons to be optimistic about the secondary. I think they're incredibly
deeper than they have ever been, especially on the outside. I think they have a lot of options.
And I think Vic Fangio gives them a level of competence that they did not have before.
But I also think you're talking about a 32-year-old Darius Slay, a rookie, probably,
in Quinion Mitchell or a second year player in Keely Ringo or a guy in Isaiah
Rogers who didn't play last year, I think realistically you can't expect that to be the best
secondary in the NFL, right?
Sure.
But can they hold up if the defensive line is dominating?
And I think that that probably does mean that Jalen Carter is having like a defensive
player of the year type season and is like the alpha on this team.
And I think that that's possible.
I think that's, I think that there was reason to believe that that could be the case.
And then I also think because they are deep enough.
on the defensive line that it's the kind of thing where maybe it's greater than some of its parts
because if Jalen Carter is awesome and Jordan Davis just takes a little bit of a step forward
and Josh Swett is somewhere between what he was in the first half and second half of last season
and Bryce Huff is pretty good and Nolan Smith gives you something and Milton Williams takes a little
bit of a step forward and maybe Moro Gimo becomes a player who can play and give you pressure
on 15 snaps a game, then maybe I think there's reason to believe that this could be a top
10 defense. I don't know if I believe that that's actually what's going to happen, but I think
that's the key to it. And as we discussed when the schedule came out, I think this is more forgiving.
They're not seeing that gauntlet, to use the term we used a year ago, that they saw in November
last year. So, I mean, I saw highlights of that Giants' Texans game. I mean, this is going to be
that giant, you know, they see Daniel Jones' tour.
twice if Daniel Jones is even starting week 18 right uh they'll see Derek Carr in week three
uh we'll see if Baker Mayfield can uh do it again week four but like I think there's this
schedule is more inviting and I think that the defense the defensive line could look closer to like
what they've looked like the past week than the way I kind of thought they were the first week
of training camp as for the stuff that actually happened on Sunday like the defensive line overrunning
them. I do think that like, you know, listen, I'm rooting for Brett Tooth. It's an awesome story.
You know, I love a journeyman offensive lineman. The fact that he's been around for so long and it seems to be not getting a real shot.
And he brings versatility. And that's his value. He can play all five positions. But I mean, you know, Thomas Booker was dominating him yesterday. And like, they could not hold up on the offensive line. And, you know, this is the, you know, where is the weak link on the offensive line? Like, I don't know if I trust.
that Brett Tooth is going to really be their like top backup.
Yeah.
Again, I don't want to do the third segment on the first segment,
but I think they have options on the third team
that are better than their options on the second team.
Yeah.
That's the team.
So you have a T-book, a confession you want to make?
Well, many people are saying that the people who have really been paying attention
all summer, sort of they count Thomas Booker as the actual Bowulf Camp Rush.
Okay, because you'd rather talk about him and Joan Carter?
I've heard that.
Yeah, okay.
Yeah, and so I don't dispute that.
I think it's okay for there to be multiple Bo-Wolf Cam Crushes.
I think it's okay.
I think Thomas Booker's going to make the team.
He should.
If you're picking the 53 best players, Thomas Booker would make the team.
And this goes into what we've talked about with, you know, the quarterback conversation, right?
If Nick Siriani talks about competition as a core value as much as he does,
I have a hard time looking someone like Thomas Booker and the other.
eyes and saying you shouldn't be on the 53 man roster.
I understand it's more nuanced and there's a lot that goes into it, whether, you know,
positions or contracts or draft status, who you can get through waivers, who you can't.
All that's real.
But Thomas Booker's been one of the 53 best players on this team this summer.
I hear with that.
All right.
We're going to talk about Cooper DeGine in a minute.
But before we do that, Zach, as we prepare to talk about all the rookies on this Eagles team,

All right. Back on the P.H. NY Eagles podcast presented by Bet365. Sack. Let's talk injuries real
quick before we get to the rookies. C.J. Garner Johnson back on the field on a limited basis,
but took part in some team drills. That's a good sign, obviously. You mentioned Lane Johnson
had the vet day off. It's a long list of guys who are not practicing right now. Tyler Steen.
Obviously, we talked about John Raw.
has a concussion. Morrow Ojimo didn't practice yesterday because of a hip injury. Gabe Hall is down. Matt Hennessy, E.J. Jenkins, Joe Wingata.
Albert O. Kewaegbenam. Kaden Stearns, obviously, still on the shelf. And Johnny Wilson out with a concussion.
Orrin Berks started to do a few things, but still was not on the field in team drills.
Grant Halkatera is back. And obviously, we talked about Cooper DeGine. Are you concerned about any of these long ones?
And what happened to Mackay Beckton, to your understanding? Yeah, Mackay Beckton, uh,
It's a lower body injury.
I saw Jeff McLean from the inquiry reported it's not considered serious.
The Eagles are back at practice tomorrow.
We'll kind of see there.
Practice Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday this week.
That's certainly a sense there is that it's not serious.
They need it not to be serious.
Overall, you said, what's my sense of these injuries?
Wide receivers, Eagles are short on numbers.
They're down three guys here.
Now, Ross and Wilson are in the concussion protocol,
So it's kind of out of the team's hands.
Joseph and Gata, we'll see what happens there with his injury.
But Eagles have a game Thursday night.
They're not going to play their top two, right?
So that they are short on numbers there.
The progress from Calcutera is important because he's going to be a member of the team.
I think C.J. Gardner Johnson, the fact that he's back practicing this weekend is a positive sign.
We know that this is an injury.
It's not going to linger into the year.
So I think the one I'm really monitoring right now is Tyler Steen.
injured the ankle in, well, I should say re-injured the ankle in the game,
hasn't quite looked right all summer.
But I think the reason why Steen's important, I spoke about Lane Johnson,
and I spoke about Fred Johnson.
It wouldn't surprise me if Tyler Steen becomes their top swing tackle if, you know,
if he gets back in time because presuming Mackay Beckton remains the starting right guard,
they're going to need Steen to play multiple spots.
And I think he's more of a tackle right now than he is a guard.
and so it would behoove them to get them work there.
Good point from Andrew in the chat.
If I had chosen E.J. Jenkins, then maybe we could have to Mount Joy, E.J. Jenny Jenkins,
a little parody song going on.
It's a fair point.
But you know what?
We're still holding out hope for Lou.
And Shea, I said Grant Calcuttaire.
I did not say Grant Calcutta, right?
He said throwback to when you said Greg Calcutta.
Oh, yes. Okay. On draft day.
Yes.
I don't remember.
that but I trust him.
I recall it.
I remember that draft show well.
I had all this information on Grant Calcutera except the pronunciation of his name.
Oh, it was when he got drafted.
Oh, yes.
Not this year's draft show.
He weren't just referring to Grant Calcutara.
This was a previous life.
Got it.
Yes.
As our friend Pat Shermer used to say.
Yes, our dear friend Pat.
Yeah, he used to always say in a former life, in a previous life to refer to jobs he
had once held.
How do you feel like that makes his family feel?
Is it like, do you think he moves on and gets a new wife with every job?
I know he does not get a new wife and every job.
They are enjoying Boulder, Colorado right now.
All right.
How often are you checking in on your dear friend, Pat?
I read his coverage quite a bit.
The Google Alert is not there anymore, though.
I can tell you that.
But I follow our Buffs coverage at DNBR.
and yeah, Pat Shermer's calling the plays now for Shador Sanders.
I feel like Pat Shermer's coverage as if he was the one covering the team
would be very much along the lines of defense excels.
So you're not like that headline?
I don't think you're selling newspapers with that.
Defense excels dominates, you know, comma,
dominates offense, semicone,
Okay.
Wow, you're throwing a semicolon in the headline?
Yeah.
Beckton, depart, Johnson sits.
Wow.
Yes.
I tell you what.
Wow. That one's going to be available at wherever books are sold.
So this is what we got.
Are we talking to headline or we're talking the back page, right?
Are we talking like the New York Post, Philadelphia Daily News, back page?
You're at the newsstand.
You see.
Get my attention.
Defense excels is not doing it.
Okay, so you need a more clever, a more clever thing.
Something interesting.
How about this?
Offense sweating, sweat, and then hyphen, I-N-G,
and you have that picture of Josh Sweat sacking the quarterback.
Yeah, man, I think you could do better, but you're on the spot.
That's okay.
All right, how about you give me a headline?
No, I don't want to.
Okay.
Okay.
All right.
What we want to do for the second part of the show, Zach, is go through the rookies
and talk about what maybe our expectations are now based on what they would have been a month ago.
And let's start with Quinnian Mitchell.
And here's my take on Quine and Mitchell, Zach.
You know, I will do that exercise I do at the end of every training camp where I rank the guys.
Can't wait.
One to 90 or whatever it is.
Yep.
91.
How they've performed over the course of the summer based on the expectations going in, right?
And the stakes at play.
I think Queenie Mitchell might be number one on that list.
and I say that because
he has been asked to do different things
he
what are you smiling at?
I'm getting killed from my headline writing in here
well you're a writer not a not a headline writer
I did not prepare for headline writing in the show
I was giving you the quick summation of what occurred yesterday
please continue with Quinnian Mitchell being the top guy
Our expectations entering camp
where eventually Quinnian Mitchell would probably earn the week one job
Yes that is still up in the air
but it was also under the presumption that, you know, what did they necessarily have in Kili
Ringo and Isaiah Rogers?
And those guys have both played very well.
And yet the way that we have seen Quinnia Mitchell being used this summer, the Cooper
Dijun injury forcing him to be on the field of nickel, him accepting that, looking good
in that role, willing to be physical, but also, you know, running with Devante Smith.
And now there was one little play yesterday where DeVante shook free of him for a big,
after the catch play.
but we've also seen lately
Quinny Mitchell working on the outside
in base defense
when they don't have a nickel on the field with the starters
I think it's trending towards
I would be surprised if he is not
playing close to 100% of the snaps
week one if he's healthy
and I think he has looked good and it's a
first round pick you know the expectation should have been
high and for the reasons we talked about
the like we shouldn't be grading this pick
until well I mean we grade the pick
but we shouldn't be determining
his value until next year, at least.
It's a developmental position,
but I think he looks ahead of schedule,
and I think there's a case
that the team is very excited
that he could be a real stand-up player for that.
Yeah, speaking to Christian Parker,
the defensive backs coach yesterday,
he suggested what we've seen,
that they are open to the possibility
of having Quignan Mitchell on the field in base downs.
How much base are you going to play?
But I could see some, you know,
to four, right? So on the field and base downs and then moving inside the nickel, should you want to get Ringo or Rogers on the field? What's so funny now? I do like defense excels as a popular headline when Sherman's calling plays. That's from Chase Daniel Plainview. Okay. So yeah, Christian Parker suggested that that could be the case. I mean, everything you're hearing both publicly and behind the scenes about Quignon Mitchell is terrific. And it's not just,
just the way he's playing. We see that with our eyes, but the way he's working behind the scenes,
the manner in which he carries himself in the meetings, the professionalism that he has,
the confidence that he has. You hear these anecdotes from AJ Brown, from Devante Smith,
from Cooper to Gene, when you asked him the other day. Yeah, I think the, there's typically
optimism about a first round pick this time of year, but I think it's merited in the case of
Quignon Mitchell. And I do think it's realistic to expect him to be
100% snap player because even when the jean's ready and we'll get to that how soon that could
occur but I think they they feel comfortable with quinian inside that he can play an inside when he
needs and then when you're not using a nickel or a dime you can play quinine on the outside
and that's a way to play him every snap I've been really impressed with him throughout the summer
so here's the second part of my question about quinine Mitchell knowing what you know now do you
Would you do it all again if you were the Eagles?
Now, just thinking about the guys who went after him, Brian Thomas,
who's supposedly having a good camp for the Jaguars,
Terry and Arnold, who's supposedly having a good camp for the Lions.
You know, they could have gone Graham Barton.
They could have gone Tyler Guyton,
who looks like he's going to be the starting left tackle,
but those are the guys who would have been in contention for the next, you know, 5-10 picks.
Yeah, so given the way the board fell,
if we're assuming no trade-up or no trade-back,
just the information you have at 22, do you take it?
I was between at the time, La Cuenya Mitchell and Terry and Arnold, I was leaning more toward Terry and Arnold based on the Alabama profile, right?
But I certainly didn't object to Coyneau Mitchell there.
And I feel some of the questions I had about Quinaw Mitchell, particularly, you know, the smaller school part of it, he looks like he belongs out here, right?
you can't the age part of it in terms of the development curve you can't ascertain that right now
I don't know what terrian arnold's going to be in two three years I don't know what nate wiggins is going to be in two three years
i can say based on yeah i think they made a good pick then i think they made a good pick now i still think
i probably would have tried to trade up to get one of those offensive linemen i would probably feel more
comfortable well i don't know if mackay beckton would have signed with eagles had they drafted an offensive
alignment so there's a butterfly effect there but if you had taken Troy Faltonu at right guard
and he's your right guard but but then frankly if you trade up in the first round you're probably
not trading up in the second round you're not getting Cooper the gene presumably in that case so
it worked out well because then what are you doing the slot you know they don't really have a slot
maybe you're drafting with your second round pick i don't know Andrew Phillips or someone like them just
think off top of my head
who could play in the slot.
So I thought they did a good job with it,
and I think it worked out well.
Yeah, and I think they would say
that they feel pretty good about that one.
Yeah.
Although I know your boy, Nate Wiggins,
is out there as well.
Nate Wiggins is a good player, man.
You're putting a little too much
Emmanuel Forbes shade on Nate Wiggins.
I'm not like anti-Nate Wiggins.
Nowhere in the near in the conversation
of Emmanuel Forbes.
You're the one putting that on.
I'm not putting that on.
I like Nate Wiggins then.
I like Nate Wiggins now.
I was probably a little scared from the Emmanuel Forbes backlash.
But I heard that's a U problem.
I heard Emmanuel Forbes put like 15 pounds on this off season.
That's good.
So he weighs 30 pounds now?
You a weightest now?
I mean a little bit.
Okay.
All right.
Let's talk Cooper DeGine.
Cooper DeGine, he's on a pitch count, but he has been working in on defense in team drills
over the past two days of practice, exclusively in the slot,
mostly with the second team, although he has 10.
taken a handful of reps with the ones as the slot player.
What do you make of the way that they are bringing him along?
And what are your expectations now, especially early in the season for the way that we will see him be used?
It doesn't surprise me, Beau, because I knew how high they were on him.
I was probably similarly bullish on the gene.
I thought it was a setback, obviously, when he was injured.
But I anticipated that they would accelerate at the acclamation period.
I did not think he would take first team snaps that day.
Now, it was one series, and I thought what was most notable there was, like you said,
Quignan Mitchell bounced on the outside because you saw the future right there.
But I don't think they're going to take it slow with the gene.
They didn't take it slow with him in the spring.
They had him playing multiple spots then.
I think that, you know, well, Fyfancho said yesterday, he's still on a pitch count, like 12 snaps right now.
You can't really put much stock in the seven-on-seven with him.
He said it's too early to even think about where he's going to be playing, right?
Well, so the question that I asked Vic was, what does he need to show you during the next two, three weeks to feel comfortable playing him early in the season?
And I think Vic interpreted that what have you seen from Cooper to Gene?
Because his answer was it's too early to answer that.
The part about what do you need to see from him?
My guess, from a physical level, they need to see that he's recovered.
from the injury.
And then just because I think really that's the question.
From a pure football perspective,
I think he's their best option in the slot right now.
Maybe Quignon Mitchell,
but their best combination would be Mitchell on the outside,
the gene on the inside with Slay opposite Mitchell.
And then you have a Gakili Ringo in case of injury
and taking over for Slay next year.
I think that will be the ideal scenario.
And then Isaiah Rogers is good quality death
for you.
But yeah, I mean, I will ask you,
what do you need to see from the Gene
in Saturday's game?
Number one, because it sounds like he
wants to play Saturday's game,
but in practice this week to say,
all right, you can trust him for Brazil
because Brazil is a different.
I think we both feel confident
come November, December, the Gene's in there.
But what about September, October?
Yeah, I think my expectations now
are, I think, the most likely
the outcome is that he's like the dime corner week one in Brazil as they're as they're like bringing him
along in a specific role and maybe quinian Mitchell is the nickel week one but also playing
outside and base and then if they go dime you know it's it's Mitchell and de jean inside or maybe
avante maddox and then it's wringo or rogers outside but i and then you also have that long
break between week one and week two right you have not as long as i mean not as oh
I'm sorry, I thought you meant between the preseason game in week one.
Yeah, week one and week two.
Right.
There's three extra days because you go from Friday to Monday.
Yeah.
And I think then it might be like, okay, now we're going to hot shot him to the nickel spot.
What do I need to see?
I don't know.
Just him staying healthy.
He hasn't been targeted much in the action.
He's been on the field.
I think the only time was yesterday.
It was a throw to Britton Covey from Kenny Pickett.
It was nice coverage, but it was completed.
And then he sort of laid a little wood on Covey, which, I mean, you know, anybody could do that.
That's, you know, so why pick on somebody your own size.
And now you're being a sizes.
Okay.
But yeah, I think they're, I think that they are still as bullish on Cooper de Jean's long-term prospects as they were when they drafted them.
What's more likely?
Cooper the Gene first team slot week one or Cooper the Gene first team kick returner week one?
And chat, feel free to feel free to weigh in on this one as well.
Good one.
I think slot is still more likely, but I think they're both pretty likely.
What do you think?
You think he's, you think kickoff returner is going to be his job right away?
I think he's going to be the kickoff returner.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
And then let's circle back on when he was drafted.
Obviously, this is a little bit different because they traded up for him with him in mind.
But the other guys who went around that neighborhood, Kool-Aid McKinstree, Kamarie Lasseter,
Max Melton, Jackson Powers, Johnson, Tyler Nubin, anybody there making you feel any pangs of regret?
A.D. Mitchell.
Well, I don't know how McKinthry's playing.
I did like McKinthry.
I like the Gene more than McKinstree.
But if you're looking outside of that, maybe a Jackson-Powers-Johnson as your starting guard,
although I more like the idea of drafting a tackle who can play guard as opposed to a center who can play guard.
So probably wouldn't go Powers-Johnson.
So, no, I mean, the Gene, look, I'd like the Gene at Pick-22.
I thought the Gene was a no-brainer at Pick 40.
Okay.
Let's talk Jalax Hunt before we get to our next ad break.
Actually, the one player, I would say, is Adonai Mitchell would be an interesting one.
Okay.
Yeah.
The one who I said at the end?
Yes.
Okay.
Yeah, I think, I mean, as you look at the, like the way that the team is built,
I think we all agree that they could use an actual third wide receiver.
All right.
You know what?
Let's talk about our sponsors first.
Before we get to Jalek's Hunt, let's talk about our friends at Bet Parks.

Okay.
We don't need to make it a team thing.
How about you continue with the advertisement?
I think that's, I think that's, we owe it to them.
There are lots of other team sports in the Olympics.

Let me tell everyone about Miller Light, okay?
because, you know, when Bo hits a few home runs in his softball game or he's hanging out with the guys this week,
you know what he's going to do?
He's going to drink an ice cold, Miller light.
When he watches his water polo matches, he likes an ice cold Miller light.
Because a lot's changed over the years.
One thing that has not, the great taste of Miller Light.
Another thing that hasn't is that it's less filling.
So what is the best thing about the original light beer?
We've been discussing this for the past few months.
This debate keeps going on.
We still have not settled it.
It's one of many debates we still have not settled.
And that's because they have the great taste.
And it's also less filling.
But what I like about it is that it keeps it simple.
Undebatable quality.
Great taste.
96 calories.
That's it.
It's the beer that strips away everything you don't need and holds on to what matters most.
A light beer that tastes like beer, less filling, and only 96 calories.
The original light beer since 1975.
You don't have to choose what's best.
Miller Light has a great taste and is less filling.

Or you can find it pretty much anywhere that sells beer.
Celebrate responsibly Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 96 calories per 12 ounces, fewer calories and carbs, then premium regular beer.
And Claire F. I'm a big fan of President Andrew Shepard as well.
Great.
J. Alex Hunt, Zach, the third round pick from Houston Baptist by way of.
of Cornell, seen as a developmental long-term project.
Seems like he's been a little bit ahead of the schedule.
What do you make of Jalick's Hunt's summer so far?
Yeah, Jailx Hunt has really impressed me this summer, more so than I anticipated.
When I went into this summer, I thought it was going to be a redshirt year.
I was thinking, all right, Houston Baptist, Cornell, this is a project.
This is Brian Smith.
This is...
I guess that famous project from Notre Dame.
Or no, was he?
McNeese State?
Yes.
Yeah, okay.
You see, evil, you were, you're so quick to jump on me.
You were ready.
You were jumping out of your cage.
That's true.
And then boom.
Yeah, you're right.
You got to get your facts right.
Crazy to cut a guy after one.
It's insane.
So, yeah.
Now, Jellx Hunt, man.
I mean, he flashes out there.
He is impressive.
First off, the frame is hard to find.
You see the long arms.
He's speed around the edge.
And he just makes plays and he's physical.
And I'm really impressed with him.
And I do want to ask you a question about J. Alex Hunt that my friend Elliot Shore Park,
so he's like the king of hypotheticals.
He asks me a hypothetical day.
And most of the times it's like, this isn't like, like, why am I answering this?
And in much respect to Elliot here, this was one he asked me that really had me thinking.
Are they all football related?
Oh, no.
It's all kinds of things.
It's like we've, and this goes back years.
I mean, we debated Michael Carter Williams versus Janus years ago.
and stuff like that.
Um,
Paxton Lynch,
Cardell Jones.
Elliot's the man.
But it's all sports.
It's not like,
uh,
would you rather this or that?
Like,
would you rather watch water polo or synchronized swimming?
No,
he hasn't asked me that one.
Um,
so what,
uh,
if the Eagles had to cut,
Nolan Smith or J.
Which one would they cut?
If they had to cut one?
Yes.
Today?
Yes.
I think they would cut Jalick's hunt.
Okay.
Now I'm on the,
I,
said like I have a spicy take that I think there's a good chance that it's possible Jailix Hunt
ends up with a better career than Nolan Smith. I do think we're getting a little bit ahead of
ourselves on Jailix Hunt's. I think we've got to calm down a little bit. The expectations were
very low and he has looked better than those expectations. He looks the part physically,
but I don't see this like level of production that you're talking about. I like Jailix Hunt. I think
there's a good chance he gets on the field as a rookie to some degree.
but he hasn't been like dominating the past week or anything like that.
Well, perhaps you and I were coming from different starting points.
I thought J.O.X. Hunt would be a healthy scratch this year or at the least,
a special teams guy.
And I thought maybe an injury redshirt candidate.
I didn't think J. Alex Hunt would be ready to play snaps for you on defense.
I'm ready to say today on August 19, J.O.S. Hunt is ready to play snaps for you on defense.
Make that your headline.
J.Ox Hunt ready to play snaps on defense.
I mean, I think he still might be inactive week one.
I would have to go through the inactives.
But I feel more comfortable about J.Ox Hunt today than I did three weeks ago.
Do you think that they would cut Nolan Smith at his expense for this season?
No, I don't think they would do that.
My answer was Nolan Smith.
Okay.
But I at least thought about it because J.Ox Hunt has a frame that's hard to find
and he has legitimate upside from my perspective.
Okay.
I can see why they were so bullish on him.
And, well, I know you're about to ask me this.
I'm ready to claim defeat.
You think that this was the right pick for them at that spot?
I was on the Troy Franklin bandwagon.
I said, why would you pass on Troy Franklin here?
Quiet summer for him so far.
I haven't watched Broncos camp, obviously.
I read reports.
Second year in a row I'm reading Broncos reports.
That's right.
Yeah.
No catches in the preseason for whatever.
Yeah, Troy Franklin struggling from all indications.
He's buried on the depth chart.
I like Troy Franklin coming out.
If I have to take the L on this, I will take the L on this.
But that was the player.
The challenging part with this exercise is you're only judging how the player is doing with the Eagles
because you don't know how the alternatives are doing elsewhere.
Sure.
Yeah.
Jay Lexham has looked better than any of my expectations, no doubt about that.
I still don't know that I love this pick.
you know, when we did the shadow draft,
the guy I liked more as a project was Austin Booker.
Austin Booker's having a great summer, it sounds like, in Chicago.
And it was a similar profile,
except younger and more productive.
And yeah, this is the spot where I do think that they could have taken a Jetavian Sanders
or somebody else who would have been, whether it was Troy Franklin or not,
a bigger impact offensively.
Like they desperately need a third wide receiver.
but if J-Lexam turns out to be a good rotational edge rusher in year three it was a good pick
like that's that's the investment they've made and I think I think he looks ahead of schedule
and so that's good that's good news yes yeah I know you had Austin Booker pegged as you're
like below under the radar edge rusher I haven't I have red bears coverage this year right
but we're hitting all the all-city markets oh yeah
always checking this.
What's what I'm saying.
We're talking about a Bronco and a bear.
Exactly. And there's some news out today
by the way. Yeah, you're going to be wearing pants.
No. I think there's going to be
well there will be a Dallas
part of all city. So how about
that? Eagles Cowboys
weeks this year are going to be a little
spicier. We'll have our
colleagues from
DLS on
to discuss Eagles Cowboys. It's exciting.
Let's talk fourth round pick
of your boy and Will Shipley. The highest
Eagles have drafted a running back since Steve Van Buren.
This is going to be, they're already getting his retirement jersey fitted, all that stuff.
How good do you feel about your boy?
I got to tell you, okay, and again, we're relitigating this.
Okay.
But you ripple me about a fact.
It's like, it's not a fact.
It literally is a fact.
There's nothing.
When I say, you were, yeah, it's a, it is a fact.
By definition, it is a fact that it is a fact, okay?
what is incorrect what is not factual about this statement it is that
purposefully misleading it is a fact it is a fact you can I'm gonna it's either
you're not entitled to your own faith you're totally but this is not you're not
it's a fact that you're making up in the way that you are drawing the line it is
either you don't understand how these things work or you're just being misleading if
you want to say Zach you're gerrymandering facts I'll say okay
I'm gerrymandering fact.
Yeah.
Okay.
And he'll say, okay, okay, that's it.
That's what it is.
But you can't say that's not true.
You can't, like, you're saying.
Yeah, but it doesn't matter.
It's like saying Will Schipley is from whatever hometown he's from.
Like.
It's from North Carolina.
Right outside Charlotte.
Absolutely nothing to do with what his career is going to turn out to be like.
Well, I never suggest.
Okay.
Take a deep breath here.
This is something I'm working on here.
Okay.
This is good.
Working on this.
Bo?
Mike says,
We got a super chat here.
He says, just found out that my sister and brother-in-law who live in Istanbul and are friends with Professor Selman.
When will the prof?
When will the prof be stopping by next?
He's still like out gallivanting the world on his big summer vacation.
But when he comes back, we'll be happy to have him.
And I think hopefully Friday's during the season as well.
Can't wait to see him.
I have a lot to catch up with him on.
Okay.
So the reason I presented that fact, that piece of information was to show the kind of the
confidence that the Eagles had in him.
The fact that they drafted him in the fourth round at the highest they've drafted a running
back since Miles Sanders.
And the, yeah.
But you can understand that when you're saying to show the confidence level they have at him,
to lump him in and say he is like their confidence in Miles Sanders and Lashon McCoy,
as opposed to there have been other running backs they've drafted in the fourth round.
And this is not, it's totally dissimilar than their confidence level in.
Donnell Pumfrey.
That's Asinon.
I never said.
I never once said that they viewed him the same way they viewed Lasham McCoy and Miles Sanders.
Never once.
I mean, you're just, whether you're lying or not, you're basically lying.
You can't basically be lying.
You're either telling the truth or you're lying.
Okay.
That's also a fact.
There's nothing that I said that is incorrect here.
So Will Shipley, I've been impressed.
I've been pleasantly surprised by Will.
Okay. I've been, this is kind of, I had him in the Eagles mock draft in the fifth round. I knew they liked him. I liked him a bit coming out of Clemson. I thought that he would have been a higher pick based on his sophomore tape than his junior tape. I would love to kind of speak to, you know, the Fran Duffies and the Dane Brewers of the world to find out kind of what they thought of him based on his sophomore tape. But everything was a mess last year at Clemson. And I think you're seeing why he was a three-down guy at Clemson. Now the past blocking needs to.
be improved, right? We've discussed that.
But to be fair, he's getting better there. In both
preseason games, he has done a good job for pass
protection. So he deserves, that's actually the thing that I think
has been most impressive. I think he is
running well. I think he
has past
catching value. He had to play the other
night where he stopped on a dime, not
like Lishol McCoy, but in a way
that's hard to find for a fourth round
pick. And I was
impressed with it. So, yeah, I
think, I still stand by the
idea that if
Kenny gain if if if if sepon barclay went down will shippley would outpace can he gain well okay uh let's work
our way through so that we don't go too long today uh the next pick for the eagles was anias smith
and you know four picks ban they took a nia smith and then jeremiah trotter junior i think this is one
where we may look back on this and be like uh it's like the julian van derveli over jason kelsey like
you get you get credit for the good pick but why did you pick this other one before him no
no shade of Julian Vanderbilt, who I love, and actually, you know, totally fine return of the value for a fifth round pick.
I think it's funny how you rip on me for like hyperbole with the Will Shippley thing, but then we're going to look back at the Jeremiah Trotter over the Jeremiah Trotter, over the Naya Smith.
Like we look back at Jason Kelsey over Julian Vanderbilti.
I'm not.
I mean, you thought the last name was a big shadow for him.
Yeah.
I'm just saying to be like, I'm just saying to the degree of they took this guy over the other side.
Because those two things are similar, right?
I don't understand what you're getting at here.
I hear what you're saying.
Yeah, Anaya Smith has underperformed
that Jeremiah Schroeder Jr.
has shown why there was so much optimism in him.
Do you think Anaya Smith has any chance of making the roster?
It would really surprise me.
And if they did, it would be Donnell Pumphrey-esque
to use Donald Pumfrey.
It would be you keep them on the team
because you don't want to make a mistake.
I think the case for Ania Smith,
is one, like there's nobody who necessarily absolutely deserves those last couple spots on the roster, right?
Like if you took him over Paris Campbell, if you believed in a Knis Smith long term, I think that would be a fine decision
because I don't think that Paris Campbell necessarily needs to be on the roster week one.
The problem with the Nyismith is not the drops, which we have seen, or the fumbles, which we have seen.
The problem is that he just doesn't look like a special athlete.
Like he's not creating separation.
He doesn't seem to have a lot of juice in his legs.
but if you think that the reason for that is that there are still lingering effects from the injury that he suffered in the spring, then fine.
Like then if you believe that, then that's a reason to believe in him long term.
He's come up a little bit over the past week or so.
He made a nice play on a back shoulder throw down field from Kenny Pickett yesterday.
So he is like very low level ascending, but I think that he is still very much on the outside looking at.
I agree with you there.
Okay.
And Trot Jr., I didn't think, I did not think the preseason game was Trot Jr.'s best performance.
But I think he's been consistent in terms of the instincts.
And look, there's going to be things he has to overcome from a size speed perspective.
But I do think that this is T.J. Edwards all over again.
Okay.
Yeah.
And I thought his practice yesterday was just as good as Nicobo Deans.
I thought he was flashing.
We can disagree there.
Yeah.
I thought Nicobo was really good.
Yeah.
But apparently he plays at that level all the time.
Johnny Wilson, Zach, also seems to be ahead of schedule.
Yeah, no, he's obviously, as we mentioned out with a concussion right now.
But if you have, if you told me on draft day that Johnny Wilson would be in contention
to be their third wide receiver, I would have said, what in the name of MoMA are you thinking, right?
And he's a very funny conversation.
And here we are.
And he's in contention to be their third receiver.
Now, part of that is because Paris Campbell hasn't distinguished himself enough and no one else has quite emerged yet.
But I do think that there's, yeah, I like what I've seen from him.
And we've talked about how smooth he is for someone his size.
That's better than I anticipated.
I still think the Eagles should add, but that's a, I don't want to say home run pick in the sixth round.
That's a really good value in the sixth round.
Yeah, I think so too.
And I also think that Dylan McMahon has been the same to close out their draft class.
My boy, I think he looks the part.
I think he is their second best center.
And I think he has this roster made.
He'll probably be inactive because he's only given you one position flex and is a contender for the feely.
But I think that Dylan McMahon looks the part he has, he holds up better like anchoring against big guys than you would expect for a guy who moves the way he does and he moves the way he does.
You summed it up well.
Jeff Stoutland doesn't need me to disagree with him.
I would look at Dylan McMahon as the second team center at this point over Brett Tooth.
I understand the value they place in the versatility that he has, Brett Tooth,
and perhaps they're preparing him for a game day role if he is on the 53, right?
Because he might have to play multiple spots.
Dylan McMahon's better than Brett Tooth from where I stand.
as a center and I would focus more on that.
And I would give Dylan McMahon's second team work at center,
but it goes back to what you said.
If he's a one position guy,
are you going to have him active on game days?
And if he's not active on game days, who's in there?
And so for an eight-person class?
Well, there's one guy we didn't discuss.
Who am I forgetting?
Trevor Keegan.
Trevor Keegan.
I did jump over Trevor Keegan.
Yeah, thank you.
I saw Baldi's breakdown on Keegan the other day,
but I've been impressed with it with Keegan.
And I don't know why they're not giving him
work on the right side.
It's weird.
And Stout has slow played this in the past, but usually by now you would see him get some
reps.
And right now when they need some coverage at right guard and knowing that Trevor Kagan only
played left guard in college, like let's get him some work.
Exactly.
Yeah, I think he has been uneven.
But like the things that you were hoping he brings to the table, he seems like he brings
to the table.
And so what I was going to say, so for a nine-person draft class, I mean, Quinia Mitchell
looks ahead of schedule
Cooper dejean behind schedule but seems to look
the part right Jelik's Hunt ahead of schedule
Will Shipley ahead of schedule
Anaya Smith down but
everybody else seemingly
ahead of schedule
early returns are good 8 out of 9 is not too bad
The early returns are good now
I do try to be careful here
sure we said the exact same thing last summer
they felt as good about the draft classes they had in years past
they loved Nolan Smith and he didn't end up doing
anything exactly right of course these are all
not predictive.
They could be false positives, but so far, so good for these guys.
But also, like, you know, I think back to the Giants had a draft class in 2008
that helped them win a Super Bowl, right?
But then that class didn't age into high-level players.
And so you kind of think about, all right, how does the class progress over time?
What's the high watermark of some of these guys?
Now, I think Quinnian Mitchell is going to be a real player in this league.
And I think the gene will be, too.
I like the upside of Hunt.
I actually like the upside of bit of Wilson.
And then we'll see if they get like solid starters in here before.
Yeah, I do think there's going to be some contributors,
some rookie contributors in this class,
which is something Hallie Roseman has referred to
because of the amount of big dollar players that they have.
You know, there was a stat I saw the other day
that the Eagles and Browns have the most players
making 10 million and more in the league.
And we've discussed how the Eagle structure contracts
to allow that to occur.
but part of that is when you have so many big money guys,
you need your guys on rookie deals to contribute.
Absolutely.
Yeah, well said.
Make sure that you are liking and subscribing on the video
and all that good stuff.
Tomorrow, going to have Handsome Rich sitting next to me.
We've got a practice to talk about it.
We're going to do some sort of big picture, you know,
for the casuals.
What have you missed over the past first three weeks of training camp?
What you need to know as we look forward to week one on Wednesday.
We're going to have our old friend joining us, Zach, and then on Thursday, it's time.
The 7th annual Osprey Awards, very happy to say that all six cameos have been delivered.
So I'm feeling very good about that.
One of them is a real banger.
Some surprises in store.
We look forward to that.
And I know you got your tux ready.
Oh, I'm not wearing a tuxedo for that.
No, I mean, if you want me to try to dress up off the practice field, I will.
I might need to bomb a ride from you from the practice field.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
I need you to handle the notes that day.
Okay.
Okay.
I'll write on the plane.
You don't think you can't just turn it around before the show?
Oh, no.
I take some, I need to put thought into that.
But speaking of that, I just want to say,
Bose done an awesome job on the notes this week.
And all our stuff on all p.hly.com.
There's a nice piece by Kyle Newbeck today on the Sixers New Edition.
I'm excited.
I'm on assignment tomorrow.
That's why I'm not on the show.
But I'm going to dig my, get back to some feature writing.
And I said there's a handful of stories I've been waiting the right for after training camp.
Right now we're focused on the daily occurrences of training camp.
So you can find all that of being a diehard on all phtly.com.
We've also got the watch party coming up week one.
Zach is going to be in South Palo.
We will have our full coverage pre and postgame show on all phtly.com and on YouTube.
But obviously, if you want to watch the game with us, Jamie's going to be there for the kickoff show at the tradesmen.
And diehards have a nice discount as well.
Lots of prizes being given out, including tickets to an Eagles game this season.
So that'll be fun.
Julia, how you doing?
Do you have any cool running's takes?
I need cool running's takes.
No, but I feel like after I saw that, I did want to be a bobs letter.
Yeah, how could you not?
I mean, there are lots of reasons that you wouldn't, but dangerous, but that's okay.
They didn't really portray the Canadians very well in that film.
You mean the Germans?
I thought the Canadians, right?
They didn't portray it.
Am I misremember?
Who do you think are the Canadians?
The ones wearing red with the Maple Leafs on it?
The Swiss?
No, am I, it's been 10, 15 years.
I thought, well, they're in Alberta, right?
They're in Alberta.
They're in Alberta.
Yeah.
And I thought there was something with the Canadian team.
Am I miss remembering this?
I think you are, unfortunately.
Yeah.
I got to watch this with Reed.
Swing it to miss again.
Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme.
Get on up.
Yeah, get on up.
It's bobsled time.
Yes.
That's right.
Yeah, there's the Swiss who are, you know, De Ries looks up to the Swiss.
There, Einz, finds, trines.
I remember that.
I remember that.
I push him down some ice.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's who he looks up to.
And then there's the Germans where the guy is the A-hole,
but he's the one who then at the end leads the slow club.
Yes, I remember that.
And then there are shows.
Say something, Jamaica.
And then there are shows when Bo has been particularly difficult on me.
And I was up at night thinking, and I'm like, all right, I got to have a better show tomorrow.
I got to stand up for myself and I look in the mirror.
And what do you say?
Tell me what you see, Zach.
You're a bad beep.
You couldn't even start with ice.
see pride, I see power.
Oh, I see pride.
I see power.
I see a badass mother.
Yeah.
Who don't take no crap off of nobody.
Nobody.
Yes, exactly.
Yeah, that's good.
You can, when I hit the elevator here, you can.
Matt H.
L.M.A.O. ZB. does not, no cool running.
I got to say.
I'm 38 years old.
I'm 38 years old.
You know how many sports movies I've seen in the last 25 years?
I know the premise of it.
I might be conflating the red color, the red color bobsled.
suits. There's a lot of things to get on me on. My lat, my conflating of information and cool
running is not among me. It's pretty towards the top of the list, I think, actually. Okay.
I'm with them. That's all right. Okay. That'll do it for this episode of the PHL My Eagles podcast. Big
week, Osprey's week. We will talk to you tomorrow at two o'clock. And you know what? It's not just because
I saw it on Saturday night. I know all of those things. I've seen the movie a million times.
Thank you for joining us. We will talk to you tomorrow.
tomorrow at 2 o'clock. And as always, we love you.
