Starting point is 00:00:29 Hello, everybody. And welcome to the PHLY Eagles podcast for the NFL's equivalent of Zach's favorite day of the year. Zach, happy new year. Ah, did you just think of that joke? Yeah, this is awesome. I look forward to this. I look forward to this. This is exciting.
Starting point is 00:00:53 It's the start of the 2024 NFL league year. It just commenced three minutes ago. The news is official now. Sequan Barkley is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, and we have a lot to discuss. I mean, you can sense that you have a little extra pep in your step here. There really is. Like, you are energized by the new year.
Starting point is 00:01:16 Oh, yeah. This is great, aren't you? I'm sorry, how is my life different right now than it was three minutes ago? Can you put the music? Can you hear the music I put on? Or am I only hearing it? No. No, I'm only hearing it.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Okay. Sorry. I put on the New Year's. How do you play it on your phone? Yeah, I could call. I played the New Year's song. Old Langzine? What's that?
Starting point is 00:01:41 Old Langzine. Is that what it's called? What did you think it was? I just, yeah. Well, you'll hear about to put it on. But anyways, yeah, old Langs-on. Old Langsine. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:01:58 New Year's song. You weren't making fun of me already. Should all the sake wants be forgot? And the Gardner Johnson sign Should Zach be so happy? Yeah, this is exciting. This is exciting. Why are you taking down by YouTube?
Starting point is 00:02:23 Yeah, sure. That's why I took it all. Definitely don't want to be taken down by YouTube. Yeah, so big, a big day for the Eagles. And I imagine like the joke in the chat. Who will the Eagles' old-lying sign over the next 10 minutes? That's your kind of, that's your kind of joke right there. I'm looking at you, but I'm also looking at my screen.
Starting point is 00:02:44 I got Mike Garo Fow there. He's got a great book over his right shoulder. Similar book that I have over my right shoulder as well. The great book of basketball? No. That's also your left shoulder. It's my right. right shoulder. Oh, my left shoulder. My right hand. My left shoulder. My left shoulder. Sorry of
Starting point is 00:03:09 Zach Bergen. You got to understand on my screen. It's my right side. So. Yeah, but I mean, you also know your own lay on. I understand. I've got the Wake Forest basketball game on the TV and got my room here. Uh, I mean, I like the idea of doing this pod to start the new but I don't really know what you want to talk about. This was your idea, Beau. This was your idea. Are you kidding me? What are we going to talk about?
Starting point is 00:03:41 Will the Eagles make these moves official? So, Sequin Barclay. What are your thoughts on Saquan Barclay? Good name for a dog. Come on, you got to sell that. Huh? You got to sell the Sequin Barclay thing? The Eagles agree with him.
Starting point is 00:03:58 What do I have to sell? Three-year deal with a day. Sequin Barkley, welcome back, or they say back in PA, welcome to the city of brotherly love. If you listen to James Franklin yesterday, James Franklin said that Howie Roseman, part of his pitch to Sequin Barclay was coming back to PA. How much do you think that factored into Sequin's decision? I would say one turkey. One turkey, okay. At best. What about you?
Starting point is 00:04:26 I think that very little, actually. I think it had to do with. I would imagine the compensation and the opportunity. We're the two are the two big. Ooh, Team Chocolate Milk chiming in. Our friends, Team Chocolate Milk. I'm sorry, I'm looking at James Wilson. That you have no reaction to. Yeah, James Winston agrees to a one-year $4 million deal with the Browns.
Starting point is 00:04:50 I see Brian Baldinger looking good. Our teammate, he's on NFL network right now. I'm giving you a play-by-play of what's on my television. Um, still no words. I saw someone, I saw in one of the YouTube comments, someone was like, they're talking about rom-coms. As if we haven't spent hours talking about football and we're about to talk about football here as well. Well, I would not make that promise for this particular episode. I mean, if nothing happens over the next 10 minutes, we may not talk much football, but we do not have news yet on Joshua or Hassan Redick.
Starting point is 00:05:25 I was wondering if like maybe the reason for the sweat rumors was there was some hidden roster bonus that we didn't know about for sweat or something like that. That was like the, you know, third day of the league year or something like that. And that was giving them the impetus to just drop him because that would at least be an explanation, which we had not heard. But no reporting on that and no movement yet. Yeah, that does not seem to be the. case.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Like when the league year opened, there would be a couple of signings that hadn't been reported. Like the Eagles, they would announce like Jason Phillips for whatever reason comes to mind. But I feel like those days have passed. Yeah, I was about to say it was once a situation where you weren't even allowed to have, like technically you weren't allowed to talk numbers during the negotiation period, right? you were only allowed to just engage with teams. And so once the league years started, that's when like Schepter had queued up all of these moves, right?
Starting point is 00:06:32 And like four o'clock happened. And then the joke was, wow, they really agreed to those terms so quickly, right? But in this case, you know, the league kind of changed that. Now you're allowed to talk numbers. Things just aren't allowed to become official. But to the point that you said, the Sam Bradford trade, the Dick Folles, Sam Bradford trade, that went down right at the start of the league year. That's when it came out once the league year open.
Starting point is 00:07:02 I remember specifically where I was. And I was like, wait, oh, wow, the Eagles got a second round pick. Okay, that's pretty good. They got a second round pick and Sam Bradford for Foles. And I think you had the same reaction, actually. You were working. Yeah, I was like really mansplaining my boss. Like, you must have this wrong.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Like there's no way they were the, were the teams sending the pick. Yes, yeah. And so then, and so then I was like, wait a second. The Eagles are giving up a second round pick and taking on San Bradford's contract. And so that, I remember that now is right at the start of the league year. Yes, I remember being pulled into Dave Spadero's office
Starting point is 00:07:41 being told that that was the deal by our boss's boss. I was like, no, that can't be right. You must have that wrong. Let me talk to Chip. Yeah. Let's just affirm a chip here. The ignorance of youth. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:01 What's your fourth favorite? Vikings are agreeing the terms with Sam Darnold. That just came out on the screen. That was out before. Yeah. Yes. Would you, if you were the Vikings, would you pay Sam Darnold $10 million or trade for Justin Fields? Are the bearers trading Justin Fields in the end of the,
Starting point is 00:08:23 division i mean who do they what do they care true uh you know i would i would trade for justin fields if i was the pittsburgh steers rather than signing even though russells wilson's not costing you anything it's the sewers version of devonthe i just don't understand the darnald thing in particular i would you're paying him 10 million dollars yeah i think the hope is that is that is that donald becomes becomes like baker mayfield or i have i I mean, Jared Gough never was benched like that, but that he becomes Baker Mayfield. That changes scenery, different opportunity. I mean, he has Justin Jefferson, right?
Starting point is 00:09:02 So that certainly helps. Okay. Way to sell that one. Thanks, Bill. I don't know that I have much juice for this episode. I can tell you. I can tell you. Since we talked to three hours ago.
Starting point is 00:09:20 No, we're in the entertainment business. You bring the energy. You got to be the thermostat. Not the thermometer. Okay. You're not reacting to what's going on. You're bringing the energy. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Let's see. Kevin O'Connell, Todd Bulls, Mike McDonald, Peckmess migrate. Okay. Kevin, I would nest McDonald. Oh, I'm sorry, I would nest O'Connell. I think he's done a decent job in two years. as the coach there.
Starting point is 00:10:04 I mean, they brought him to the playoffs. I'm on the division two years ago. So I would say that. I would... I'll drink of water, Kevin O'Connell. What's that, I know that expression. I actually don't know what that means. What does that mean?
Starting point is 00:10:18 He's tall. No one's ever called me a tall drink of water then. Yes. Why don't you just say tall? You got your Dunn shirt on. Yeah. Michael Dunn, resigning with the Cleveland Browns, as reported by Zach Rosenblatt. fully guaranteed $75 million.
Starting point is 00:10:36 One could wish. I mean, I don't know enough about Mike McDonald. I'm probably pecking bowls. You know, he put a good game plan together for the Super Bowl. He won that game. I don't know enough about McDonald's. So I guess I'm migrating McDonald's at this point. What about you?
Starting point is 00:11:01 Nesting Mike McDonald. Why not? pecking Kevin O'Connell because I've never been with such a tall person and migrating Todd Bulls. Who's coming with more juice? You on this show or Devonthe Smith when we had the interview with him. That episode got good numbers. It did get good numbers, yes. Yeah. You want to, should we, should we, you want to interview me like I'm like I'm calling into your radio station or vice versa. Wait, so I'll do whatever you want.
Starting point is 00:11:39 I don't know what we're doing. We have nothing to talk about. So you're calling it. We've done 10 hours over the past three days. All right, how about this? Let's do a mock press conference here. Everything became official. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:54 I am Howie Roseman. Okay. And you are intrepid reporter, Bo Wolf. And, uh, well, I'd like to be a couple different people. Okay. All right, be whoever you want. You're Howie? I'm the GM of the Eagles, yes.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Okay. Maybe I'm answering it with my personality as opposed to Howley's personal. Howie, Zach Berman of PHOY. We know that in the past, you have not invested very much into the running back position. You've used second round draft picks, but you haven't paid somebody since LaShawn McCoy. What was different about Sequin and Barclay? Yeah, good question, Zach. You asked me back on the first day of training camp about the running back market.
Starting point is 00:12:34 And I pushed back on what you thought then because I did pay Lashon McCoy. And I believe in exceptional players and you make exceptions for exceptional players. And that's what I view Sequin Barclay as. And when I look at it, he doesn't just help us running the ball, but he's where we want to go as an offense and his ability to catch the ball, his ability to block out of the backfield, the the explosiveness, the game-changing ability that he had. You saw it when he was at Penn State.
Starting point is 00:13:07 I vividly remember that Rose Bowl game against USC. You saw he was the number two pick in the draft. I had players on our team coming up to my office after the first time they saw him and said, I haven't seen someone like that since Barry Sanders. Okay. By the way, I heard, someone told me Barry Sanders even tweeted out something about Sequin Barkley here. So I look at this as an opportunity to improve our team. What you need to understand about the NFL is that it's designed for everyone to go eight and eight.
Starting point is 00:13:37 We're all dealing with the same assets. We're all dealing with the same resources. Okay. So you can't just go with conventional wisdom here. And the way I see it is that with the salary cap going up and with what the running back market is, you need to look at it not in terms of what you're paying, but the percentage of the cap of what you're paying. And I think that Saquan Berkeley makes sense from a business perspective.
Starting point is 00:14:02 I think Saquan Berkeley makes sense from a football perspective. And for where we want to go as a team in 2024, Saquan Berkeley gives us upside that was not there before. Howie, Tim McMahon is from ESPN. A couple of years ago, you assigned Josh Sweat to an extension. You've called him one of the building block players on this team. He has, you know, he's top 10. 10 in sacks among all edge rushers over the past two seasons.
Starting point is 00:14:31 What would you say you do here if you're just releasing this guy and getting no compensation? Okay. Let's just break character. So in this case, we're operating as if they released him or they could release him. I just want to know. Okay. They have released them? Whose wife did he sleep with?
Starting point is 00:14:52 Okay. All right. Let me answer. So Josh Sweat is someone who, our scouting staff, did a group. great job evaluating coming out of Florida State, fourth round pick. We saw he had the tools in his body. We developed him. We watched him turn into one of the top edge rushers in the NFL.
Starting point is 00:15:10 We re-signed him. He was a big part of successful defenses here in Philadelphia. And then it got to a point as we looked at where this was going, moving forward, some of the changes with the defense, how we can allocate our cap resources, where we are from the past rush perspective. We're trying to get younger. We're trying to have flexibility in other areas. And it didn't make sense for the player and for the team.
Starting point is 00:15:39 And one thing you have to understand is we're in a relationship business, right? I mean, I think back to the 2019 offseason. And Nick Foles, Nick Foles, he has a statue outside the stadium. He helped us win a Super Bowl. But it came to a point where we said, Nick, We can keep you here. We can put the tag on you. We can trade you.
Starting point is 00:15:59 But that's not the best for you. And we want what's best for Nick Foles as well. So we thought this made sense for both sides. We're very grateful for what he did here. It just made sense for both sides. Howie, howie, howie, howie, Elliot Shore Parks from WIP? How do you feel about the state of the linebacker position? Well, Elliot, you're asking me this question on March 13th.
Starting point is 00:16:23 And the last I check, we don't play a game until I think September 6th. Okay, so there's a lot of time here to continue to build this position. And look, there's a number of pressure points throughout the year. There is obviously a few weeks to go before the draft. We can continue to sign. I vividly remembered 2017. We signed Chris Long and Patrick Robinson on March 26th when we were at the league meetings in Arizona. And then in April that year, we traded for Tim Jernigan to help our at defense tackle.
Starting point is 00:16:55 So there's always going to be opportunities there. And then, of course, the draft. And then after the draft, there's still opportunities. So, you know, one thing that I've learned by experience is that you, you, you can't reverse the moves that you can only reverse the move. I'm sorry. I'm not butchering the expression that I've used the number of times. You can always rebound from the moves you don't make. You can't rebounds from the moves that you do make.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Okay? So we don't want to make a move unless we are confident that this is the player we want to commit, not just the tap space to, but the time and the opportunity to. And this is a fluid situation. And I think you're going to be proud or I think the fans are going to be proud of the product that they see at linebacker come this season. Howie, Rubin Frank. What did you like about Matt Hennessy?
Starting point is 00:17:52 Well, Matt Hennessy, I saw him play at the time. the stadium across the street. I mean, I remember back, you know, I was watching some of these Temple games and we always look for athletic offensive linemen and we always look for smart offensive linemen and we always look for versatile offensive linemen. And Matt Hennessy was that when he played for Temple and then he goes down to the Atlanta Falcons and he started at Center there and then he moved over to guard and it was just an opportunity to continue building the depth. You know, I firmly believe that you can't just talk about it. You have to be about it. If you know, if you say that you're going to build a team on the lines of scrimmage,
Starting point is 00:18:29 then your actions have to support it. It can't just be your words. And so this is a continued commitment to building depth. And frankly, we've won a lot of games here since I've been GM. And we've really only had two seasons that haven't gone the way we've wanted to since I've been GM. And in those two seasons, what was the common factor? Well, injuries on the offensive line. And so you need to be prepared.
Starting point is 00:18:52 Hope it's not a strategy. And what Matt Hennessy gives us is experience and versatility on the, as far as depth on the offensive line. Howie, E.J. Smith, wait, hold on. No, let me, hold on. Let me follow up. Let me follow up. Howie, Ruben Frank again. Is Matt Hennessy a starter in your mind? Well, that's a, that's a, that's a decision for Nick Siriani and Jeff Stoutland and Kellynne Moore. And they're going to have an opportunity to see these guys on the grass and make that determination. When I'm trying to do, is I'm trying to build the best roster I can for them. And then it's up to them to maximize the players that we have. E.J. Smith, Thawi, you have Joshua and Hassan Reddick on the roster.
Starting point is 00:19:39 What is it about Bryce Huff that makes him worth getting rid of one of those guys for? Yeah, good question, E.J. Look, and we have great respect for Josh, and we have great respect for Hassan. You know, I remember in the 22 season, or the 2021 season, rather, we're up at, you know, we're at the Jets Complex in Florin Park. And I'm watching Bryce Huff come around the edge. And I wrote my notes that day the name Bryce Huff. And it's been staring at me in my office in these years since because, look, we love edge rushers who can get to the quarterback. and Bryce Huff has that.
Starting point is 00:20:23 And we look at it. You know, we have great people in the building and our pro scouts. And they thought not just the player he was with the Jets, but what's it going to look like when his playing time is 30 and 40% more. And you take that and you put him in this defense next to Jamwin Carter, next to Jordan Davis, and next to Milton Williams. And he can get after the quarterback now. And we like having these guys in waves.
Starting point is 00:20:48 And Bryce Huff gives you that. So this is a matter of, age and not just making a signing for what they're going to do in 2024, but we want to be competitive in 2025 and 26, and Bryce Huff puts us in position to do that. Hey, Hallie, it's me, Bo Wolf from PHY. Do you think you'd be in this position if you still had Christian Ellis? Man, you know, I keep hearing about this, this Christian Ellis thing. Look, we're very grateful for what Christian Ellis gave us. You know, we thought it was time to move on in that situation.
Starting point is 00:21:20 there's always some moves you want back and that's a move that in hindsight I would probably want back but you you got to recover from you know you can't sit still and and cry about your decisions what you have to do is figure out how to rebound moving forward you know I I think back bow to 2015 and I was on the other side of the building and I didn't know what was going to happen then right and I didn't know what my future helped but I knew if I continued to try to improve continue to try to figure out how I could be better, how we could be better, then when that opportunity comes, we'll be okay. And that's how I view it now is, look,
Starting point is 00:21:59 we can't sit here and talk about what was or what could have been. All we can do is take what we have now, take the resources, take the opportunity, and figure out how we can put the best team in place to win. Howie, Dave Zangero, you know, it seemed like so much of the focus heading into the off-season roster-wise was about improving the defense, but the moves we've seen you make
Starting point is 00:22:22 over the first couple of days of free agency with Sequin Barclay and Matt Hennessy and Devante Parker seemed to indicate that you think that the offense needs help too. Is that fair? Well, thanks for noticing that Devante Parker signing, Dave. I appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:22:39 Zach Furman, DeMonte Parker sucks. Zach, that's uncharacteristic of you to be someone professional in a press conference, right? I mean, you've been a modicum of professionalism in the time that I've known. No, so, yeah, so to get to the question about the offense, that's a good point. And we'll continue to build the defense. Sometimes you have to react to the opportunities, right? And we saw an opportunity to upgrade the offense with Sequin, who's a special player, number two, picked in the draft.
Starting point is 00:23:14 we we thought that was a rare opportunity to get a player like him. Guys like him don't come available very often. But I would disagree because we did add C.J. Gardner-Johnson. We did add Bryce off. I think that our defense is in a good spot. It's going to continue to get in a better spot. We know that the roster is incomplete now. But some of these early moves was just a matter of being opportunistic about where the market was at the time.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Two more questions. two more, two more. Yeah, howie, Jeff McLean. Why won't you let us talk to the coordinates? I'm ready for this one. Why won't you let us talk to the coordinators? Well, that's a Bob and Brett question for you. But no, yeah, so with that, you're going to have an opportunity.
Starting point is 00:24:05 And once you speak to these guys, you're going to see what Nick saw in the interviews. And that's just really sharp football minds and great football people. I mean, great people as well. And that's what we wanted in this organization. And you are going to get a chance to talk to them. I mean, they've been hard at work. They've been putting the beginnings of the plan together. So when the players come in the building, we can start to hit the ground running. And then the other thing is, is that, look, we don't want to give way the answers to the test. And, you know, there are things that we might be doing scheme-wise. And you guys, I keep hearing from these other GMs, they don't have the type of. media contingent that that we have here in Philly. And you guys are good and you guys are going to push and prod and try to find out what these schemes are going to look like. And we don't want to give away the answers to the test for what this offense and what this defense is going to look like in 2024. So when the time is right, you will get a chance to speak to them. And I think you're going to be as impressed and speaking to them as we were interviewing them and working
Starting point is 00:25:08 with them every day. Last one, Jimmy Kempski, Howie. What was it like? having to negotiate with C.J. Gardner Johnson's agents after the way things went last off season. How did that all come together? Yeah, Jimmy, that's a good question. And, you know, look, this is a business and sometimes things happen. And both sides can learn from the experience. And I think that's what occurred here. We looked at the team that we had and we said, we missed CJ. You heard me reference at the at the combine that we let some players go and we could have used them and cj gardner johnson was was one of those players and i understand there's a lot of questions about cj but uh the benefit that we have the benefit
Starting point is 00:25:56 that that that that we have that is is we lived with them for a year right if if you're going to marry someone uh it's it helps to have lived with them to to know what it's like you're not just going based on a a dating profile you're going based on shared living experiences and that's that's that's what it's like now with CJ, we're confident in the player. We're confident in the person. And as far as the negotiations, they were very professional. We appreciate Kevin, Connor, and his whole team. And, you know, we think that there's a resolution here that makes sense for both sides. Could just, can we just get one more? Thanks. Yeah, yeah, let them have one more. This is Olivia, Reiner. What's up at the guard market? Why are guards getting paid so much? Yeah, Olivia. You know, this is a,
Starting point is 00:26:42 It's interesting. You know, we we spend the weeks before free agency making these projections and doing the same thing that you guys probably do on your, you know, shows and in your articles and when you're speaking to each other in that we're trying to project what each contract's going to be. And, you know, we've identified Landon Dickerson as a player that could be a core play, you know, that could be one of the foundation pieces for us during the next decade. And we had an offer that we thought was going to make him, you know, the highest paid guard in the league because that's the type of player we felt that he was. And we certainly didn't, well, we saw the market getting bigger, but we didn't necessarily see it swelling as much as it did. So we're grateful that Landon and his representatives agreed to the deal at that time. And when we look at the guard market, you know, I think the rest of the league is starting to catch up to what we've done. with players like Brandon Brooks over the years.
Starting point is 00:27:44 And what we've done, you know, we, I mean, there's some signings I don't want to point out. But there are other signings, even going back to when Jermaine Mayberry was here, right? And, you know, when, I mean, Sean Andrews for a period of time, we've had outstanding guards in this building. And we've always valued that position. I think the rest of the league is seeing that now. Thanks, Avery. Anytime, guys. Thanks, Aynne.
Starting point is 00:28:11 Anytime. Anytime you want to call. Jacks, I'm here. I guess you couldn't postpone this press conference or whether it's too good, huh? How was that? You did a great job. Oh, thank you. I thought your questions were very good.
Starting point is 00:28:25 You know what the best, my favorite thing that you did, that was exactly what, like, word for word is out. When you get a chance to talk to these guys, you're going to stay. I thought that was really good. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. You feel good.
Starting point is 00:28:38 You feel good about that. Well, I tried to buy time. Did anything happen? In the time, no. The Raiders released Jimmy Garoppolo. Would you be interested in Jimmy Garapolo? No, that would not be the move that I would pursue if I were the Eagles. I'm looking here.
Starting point is 00:29:01 John Rager. John Rager's still living on with the Patriots like tools in his body. That was a good one too. Thank you, Josh. I appreciate that. Let's see, Bryce Huff. They have Price Huff in 47. interesting is he going to wear 47 are they taking that number from brandon smith i mean they're
Starting point is 00:29:21 taking that if that's the number he wants brandon smith ain't got nothing to do with it he's not getting 55 we know that right well that's for sure how do you feel that's sake on in 26 well that's all that's all i've known him i don't watch sayquan in high school uh so i i'm actually surprised you didn't watch sequoine in high school i i've seen some clips i mean i i didn't go to any of his games games, but he saw some clips. And outstanding player at Penn State wearing 26 and with the Giants were in 26. And now, man, Miles Sanders must be, as you said, like, they give him the money that Miles Sanders wanted, the spot that Miles Sanders wanted. Now the number that Miles Sanders had.
Starting point is 00:30:01 Yeah. He's been running back cucked. You said it, not me. Yeah, I feel bad. All right. Well, unfortunately, this has been not a lot happening. No, that happened. It's been a little bit of a letdown.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Yeah. So do we call it and reconvene when something happens at this point? We've given a good 30 minutes here. I think probably so. Okay. We appreciate our loyal audience. You know what? I thought like, I thought our Devante Parker emergency pod yesterday was awesome.
Starting point is 00:30:43 I thought that was great. I thought the CJ Garron Johnson, and we were a little bit too fiery maybe, but we've been pumping out the content. I cannot, you carried this one completely. I cannot, I cannot feel good about the performance
Starting point is 00:30:54 that I put out there over the past half an hour. No, you know, I take responsibility for this one. I thought coming along at the league year. I thought that'd be a cool thing. You know,
Starting point is 00:31:03 we did four hours the other day when, when the Tampa- when the negotiation period kicked off. I do love a New Year's Eve. New Year's Eve in July 4th, are two of my favorite holidays. And so I thought there'd be some fun things. I thought there'd be some fireworks.
Starting point is 00:31:20 I did think there would be something. I thought we would have some Josh Sweett-Hasson-Retic resolution. Yes. So what I can tell the audience is that even though we're not on the screen in front of you, we are in front of our computers. We're on our phones. I'll be turning off this. What's it?
Starting point is 00:31:38 All the long sin? Is that what it's called? No. What's it called? old lang syne old lang syne why is it spelled a uld d l a n g s y n e because it's an i mean look it up it's it's it's not an english or it's it's it's it's an old old lang syne meaning so long past yeah so what i can say is is that i will be you know texting people and and in front of my computer here and if and when news breaks today
Starting point is 00:32:13 we will jump on for a show. But until then, I'm grateful for all those to tuned in. What's the most you've laughed recently, Zach? The most I've laughed. Scottish, it's Scottish, apparently. Scottish. I mean, every Sunday night, I laugh quite a bit. I mean, I think I know what you mean, but you got to, you got to, you can't just be.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Curb enthusiasm. Yeah, Kirby enthusiasm. Every curb episode, I'm sitting in me. bed watching it and I end up waking up Emily because like I'm laughing so hard. Also, well, so that was Sunday. Last week, I went to the Nate Bargazzi show.
Starting point is 00:32:57 That was hilarious. Had you rolling? Yeah, yeah. How was the arena comic experience? Not as good, honestly. I mean, it's a credit to the comedian that he's able to fill an arena. But from a viewing experience,
Starting point is 00:33:15 there's nothing like, you know, there's nothing like a comedy club, right? Comedy club's number one. And then you get into like a music hall. It's not ideal, but you can take it. An arena, you're either you're watching the screen, you're far away. You can't necessarily see the gestures. But there was one funny thing because they're on the big screen. I'm sitting next to Emily at the concert and one of the opening guys. Emily says to me, and we says, Zach has flies down. And I was like, like, it's like right on the, screen, he's flies down. And someone screamed out, hey, you're flies down. And you pull it up. He said, that's the biggest laugh we got all day. That's pretty funny. You wonder if he did an intention only just to put that line in, right? There you go. Good. A little audience participation. How long will they let me go with this? Sure. Okay. Somebody asked for me, was it the Chatterbeye joke? That was a very, that was a big laugh. I did, I did lose a little bit. But I think that was, it was second over the past week to there's a video
Starting point is 00:34:18 there's just a TikTok video that it was the prompt of like what's your favorite TikTok video or something and it's one that Katie Nolan put out if you go to her Twitter and I just for whatever reason it still is making me laugh three days later.
Starting point is 00:34:32 It's very funny. I don't think it will make you laugh as much that but it didn't make me look. I will take a look. Very funny. No, I I learned not the Google stuff that I don't know. Yeah, no hentai on this one.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Yeah, I learned my lesson the hard way there. I don't know what that word is either, but I imagine it's not a football term. What? The joke you made the other day. Oh, yes, correct. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:35:05 Well, what a year it's been. Let's hope our shows that's new Liguer is better. than this one year today. So that'll do it for this episode of the P.H.I. Eagles podcast. Hopefully something happens soon. And if not, we'll talk to you tomorrow
Starting point is 00:35:24 at noon. But if something does happen, we will be here and we will have the energy and the insight that you so crave. So for Zach and Julia, thanks to everybody for tuning in, especially the live sickos. We'll talk to you later. And as always, we love you.
Starting point is 00:35:44 like the mayor.
