the P.H.L.E. Eagles podcast, Bo Wolf, Jamie Lynch on the scene at Penn Oaks Golf Club,
the site of the Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation annual golf event. We are here. We're going to talk
to Brian Dawkins. We're going to talk to Brian Westbrook, talk some Eagles. Jamie, how you doing?
This is an awesome event, Bo. This is my third year now at it.
Big flex. Yeah, big flex. But Brian does such a great job, and mental wellness and health is such a
a great thing that kind of like this new generation has brought upon.
You know, we've got to drop the stigma of negative mental health.
And Brian's at the forefront of that with his Impact Foundation.
So if anybody out there can donate to the Foundation, you can just head to Brian Dawkins'
Impact Foundation website and help out if you're so willing.
But it's a great event.
And as we see here, you know, the guys that come out for Dawkins is, you know,
it's top notch.
So this is always a great event.
Love broadcasting here every year and happy to be back.
I saw Jason Kelsey walking around.
Yeah, your old pal Jason.
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah, we got Trott and Trott Jr. out there.
We sat down and had some breakfast with Merrill Reese and the freak.
So it's a great.
My quick.
Collis Thomas.
Yeah, it's just awesome.
So if you can get tickets in the future, because this isn't going away.
This outing is a huge success.
It's going to continue for a long time.
So if you can help, do it.
If not, just bring an awareness.
about mental health is a great thing nonetheless.
Plus, like, as you walk around, I see, like, people sit, like, the bartenders are saying,
how do you?
You've made an impact here.
Well, you know, you can be a decent person in life.
It can take you a long way.
There we go.
That's my theory on life.
It is, it is a mini-camp week, Jamie.
And so Zach is at the facility right now talking to some of the Eagles assistant coaches.
I just saw his new photography is out on display on his Twitter page.
Yeah, he's still using his rock, it looks like to take photos, but we like that.
Clint Hurt is a large man.
and takes up, what, almost 50% of that picture?
Yeah.
So, Zach is down at Novacare right now talking to the coaches.
He had to sketch that out with chalk, I guess, something like that.
But, yeah, we'll talk about that with him the rest of the week.
We're going to be live 3.30, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
after the Eagles minicamp practices to sort of wrap those up.
And then noon on Friday, Jamie.
But from a fan's perspective, when you, like, are paying attention to what's going on in the spring for the Eagles,
what do you care about, what do you not care about?
To be honest, in years past, I haven't cared about a whole lot.
Like last year, they were kind of...
Probably healthy, honestly.
Yeah, yeah, I'm not going to go living and dying by charting somebody's practice.
You know what I mean?
Last year, they were like ready-made turnkey team.
Like, there was no real position battles.
There was nothing really to hyper-focus on.
This year, I think it's kind of a fascinating camp in a couple regards.
I think the secondary is going to be a lot of fun.
And I think the right guard battle, you know.
Are you on the Isaiah Rogers hype train?
I got to be honest a little bit.
Okay.
I'm not full.
I'm more than toes in the water.
I'm probably like up to my knees.
Okay.
I haven't full on dove in yet because I did read some of his like advanced analytics
and number of times targeted, red zone coverage, this and that separation.
And his last year in Indy was like he was becoming kind of like this advanced analytics darling.
Now you have to obviously put all that together for 60 minutes over the course of a game.
but there's reason, I think, to have a little excitement about him.
A little excitement.
I'm not getting crazy and saying he's going to be like an all pro or anything,
but I think it's definitely something to watch and pay attention to.
Who would you rather see out there week one, him or Quine and Mitchell opposite Darius?
I would love to see Quignon Mitchell win a really good camp battle.
I, you know, I don't want him giving the job.
I want him starting week one in Brazil, but I would love to see him beat out a guy that
has been on the street for, you know, what, 18 months,
basically, and hasn't played football, but is a vet.
And I would love to see that where he just beats him out and he earned it.
And what about Cooper Dejean?
Where does he fit into your dream?
He's almost like the cherry on top.
You know what I mean?
Like when you play positionless football.
More like a macadamia nut.
Okay.
Well, don't give that to Zaire Smith, because he might die.
Unfortunately.
Cross sport reference there for your basketball fans.
Yeah, you know, like I'd love to.
I don't think there's a necessary.
There could be a starting spot for him if he beats out, let's say, you know,
an Avanti or somebody that's competing for the slot.
That's what's on the table.
I don't expect him to start, I guess, is a fair way to say it.
I'm just kind of hoping, like, it happens.
But, like, I'm not expecting him week one to be the starter.
Okay.
But I think there's room to grow there.
And then you were going to say, right guard before?
Yeah, right guard.
I mean, Tyler Steen, they invested a decent draft pick in him,
so he probably has the advantage to start.
he's got a year under his belt in Stoutland, you.
So you think that all kind of pays benefits this week in camp.
And, you know, I'll be excited to see what you and Zach see from him this week.
And does he look like the set starter at right guard?
Because that's a, you know, like Cam Juergens taking over, you know, we just saw Jason Kelsey.
It's not easy to replace guys like that.
And Cam Juergens might be ready, but then what's the ripple effect after that?
Yeah, I mean, it's impossible to play at that level.
Yeah.
you're just hoping for something to approximate that.
And maybe stylistically he can bring some similar things to the table.
But yeah, I mean, I think the variance of the offensive performance this year,
aside from like injuries to the quarterback or the wide receivers, those top two guys,
it really does come down to that offensive line.
And, you know, there's a good chance that, you know, Lane Johnson is a year older.
You're talking about two new position starters at center and right guard.
you know, Jordan Milad and Landt Dickerson should be really good.
But, you know, there's a realistic chance that they're only going to be, you know,
like the eighth best offensive line in the league and not the number one best offensive line.
And that makes a huge difference in, you know, the quality of what they can do.
Yeah, I mean, frankly.
You know, even if things go well.
Yeah, frankly, we've been spoiled, spoiled rotten by offensive line play over the last 20 years.
I mean, to go from the days of Runyon and Trey to now this, like, and Jason Peters in the middle,
like, you're just sprinkling in Hall of Famers all over the place.
And you just lost one of them.
And my man looks great, by the way.
Kells.
Yeah.
Do people in the building call him Kells?
I don't think some people call him Kels.
Okay.
But he looked good, and that's a hard thing to replace.
And Cam Juergens, you know, we assume this is how spoiled we are.
We just go, oh, yeah, Cam Juergens is going to, you know, go over there and just slide right in.
Irving Friar, just some football legends walking around.
Yeah, no big deal.
Hitting off the pro shop.
He could still run.
He could still run.
But, you know, that's a tough thing.
And, you know, I talked to Zach on Friday.
I don't think leadership is like a, hey, everybody get around.
I'm going to flip a table over and scream and yell and motivate everybody.
But I think there is a huge leadership aspect in the film room of teaching younger guys.
And, you know, just kind of going the way.
Like, the Eagles culture kind of speaks for itself.
I don't worry about guys like picking up the torch like Lane and BG obviously is still here and running with it.
But I do think that offensive line room in the film work that go over, the study, like, I think there's leadership loss there.
So, like, that has to be, you know, replaced as well.
So, you know, it's good, but we're spoiled.
And we just assume Cam Juergens is going to be great at it because Jeff Stoughton's here.
The two things I would say on the leadership front.
One is, I mean, they had those leaders last year.
Sure.
And how did things go at the end of the season, right?
So maybe that's, we don't know how much that stuff matters.
Sure.
That's true.
The other thing is, and, you know, Howie Roseman talked about this, like, part of the reason that they have, like, these succession plans in place is what better way for these guys to learn than to just watch those guys?
And so this is something that they have been thinking about from a roster management team building standpoint for a long time.
Jason Kelsey handpicked the guy.
Right.
I mean, they've been thinking this out.
Three different Jason Kelsey replacements.
Yeah.
Right.
So.
Yeah, Landon Dickerson was one, too.
We're going to see how that goes.
Like they have gone about this preparing for this moment.
Absolutely.
With Fletcher Cox as well.
And so however it goes, it is reflective of the way that Howard Roseman went about planning for it.
Yeah.
And speaking of the spoiled offensive line play, like you said it.
Like Landon Dickerson was also supposed to be a center.
Right.
And then.
And oh, yeah, they just go out and become all pro guards.
Right.
Like that's how, when I say we're spoiled.
And he's making over $20 million.
And cutting his grass every other way.
By the way, have you seen his lawn cutting?
I'm not an aficionado.
Okay.
Is it good?
It's pretty good.
You're a supper bent.
I don't know how to get the line work that he does.
He's got the zero turn.
His wife posts on it.
He takes it serious.
He's pretty impressive.
That was his big investment was the no-turned mower.
Yeah.
One of the keys to cutting grass that I've read is you should never cut it the same way over and over again.
Interesting.
So you cut it different patterns, different weeks, and that encourages better growth.
That makes sense to me.
Yeah.
So he...
Just theory.
Yeah.
just theoretically, if we're just talking
Sabrina, you know, I was laying some sod yesterday.
Were you?
I'm all grassed up, yeah.
Okay.
But yeah, it's just like, do you take pride in the lawn?
I didn't think I was going to, but yeah, you do.
Okay.
When you put in like three hours of hard labor and sweat and you get a cold beer
and you just kind of put your hands on your hip and look out at it, it's a good feeling.
And you, like the block that you live on, where does your lawn rank?
Like, are you judging the others?
Yeah, I'm real jealous of the people that get the full-on, like, treatments.
because you can see there's like a different color.
Those lawns pop.
We're not there yet.
I had to take over a yard that, you know, had some weed.
Be rebuilding project.
Yeah, yeah, and we're doing pretty good.
Okay.
Yeah, we're turning the corner there.
And give me another year.
You just don't want to be at the bottom.
No, you just don't want to be at the bottom.
Give me another year and I'll go toe for toe with anybody on the block.
Those are big words.
Watch out the rest of the block.
But yeah, Cam Jerkins, you know.
Cam Jerkins.
All right.
You know, if you want to maybe save enough money that you can get one of those treatments, get that full treatment.
One way to do that would be to become a user of Rocket Money, like myself.
Now, I don't have a lawn to worry about, but I do save a lot of money thanks to Rocket Money,
because Rocket Money is a personal finance app that fines and cancels your unwanted subscriptions,
monitors your spending, and helps lower your bills so that you can grow your savings.
Made a little move.
You know, I talked about the French Open last week on the Anthony Gargan Show, Jamie,
And, you know, Zach is always pumping up, big streaming.
He wants everybody to have to pay as much money as possible.
I went and got the YouTube, I'm my YouTube TV man.
Oh, okay.
And so I upgraded to, like, the Sports Plus package
so that I could get Tennis Channel to watch the French Open.
I don't know if I want to stick to this.
This might just be a one-month deal for me,
and Rocket Money is going to remind me,
and they're going to tell me, do I want to keep doing this?
So I need Rog. I need to get an account,
and I've been saying it for a little too long now
because I went on my Amazon recently
and I think the kids subscribe to a couple
things, I was paying like...
You get those renewals. $20 a month
and things I didn't even know about. Rocket money would have
had my back. Absolutely. Because with Rocket
money, I have full control over my
subscriptions and a clear view of my
expenses. I can see all of my subscriptions
in one place and if I see something I don't want
any more, Rocket Money can help
me cancel it with just a few taps

things. Rocket Money takes care of it, and that's why Rocket Money has over 5 million users who have
saved a total of $500 million in canceled subscriptions, saving members up to $740 a year when using

Nice job on the metabolites.
Yeah, that was...
I'm going to get you.
Well, I'm getting a little sweaty in here.
Mm-hmm. Get in case the fats.
Yeah, my glasses keep fogging up.
You do have a fog.
Yeah, I'm sweating.
That's all right. I'll play through it, you know?
Just like Brian talking to it.
Just like them.
Yep.
What's your, when you close your eyes and think, Doc?
What comes to mind?
The flying punch tackle from behind versus the Giants.
Everybody says crumpler, and of course, that's a great memory.
But that meant...
And the other one that...
Do you think the Crumpler thing would be as fondly remembered if his name wasn't Crumpler?
That's a good point.
I think that's part of what makes it the comedic effect of it.
If it was just Bubba Franks.
Yeah, probably not nearly as funny.
Not the same, right?
Yeah, not at all.
Here he is.
And speak of the devil, Mr. Brian Dawkins.
We will talk to him in a little while.
I think he's hitting up the pro shot maybe for some more golf balls.
He was going after somebody like they were with Al J. Crumpler.
And the other one that comes to mind was, I think it was a Cowboys game where he
jumped the line and sack the quarterback and just like he was he was one of the most fun
dudes to watch play the game no doubt about it was he was he your favorite player yes yes him westbrook
and and kelsey out i actually are probably my oh wow what a day for you yeah and you know tray
became a good buddy of mine so like that might be my man but like as a kid when you're watching and
you're like 15 years old my dad's favorite player to watch was westbrook okay uh i was dawkins but i loved
Westbrook too.
And I was a big Donovan guy too.
I can't deny that.
He lost me in later years a little bit, but, you know, it was a huge guy.
It was the quarterback, you know.
We always wanted one and I never had one.
Julia was fan-girling out over Donovan at the Super Bowl.
Yeah, I mean, you know, he's lost it a little bit in recent years, but, you know, what are you
going to do?
What's your, let's say we're playing golf, you get to pick your Eagles dream forsoom,
who's in your foursum?
I mean, I think from the fun drinking aspect, Jay,
Jason Kelsey would be a very high draft pick.
I would love to see the athleticism of somebody from this current team, like an AJ Brown.
Oh, interesting.
Like the baseball player, high level, just all around freak athlete.
I'd love to see him because I love seeing like highly athletic people struggle on the golf course.
The golf course will humble you real quick and it's just like, all right, good.
He's normal.
I
Jalen Hertz
Terrible golf swing
Really?
Oh terrible
Did you see Caleb Williams
Swing the baseball bat this weekend?
No
Bad?
Oh really
He went to a Cubs game
And they had him down
Hitting off the T
And the cages
Baseball can really
Stock down
Yeah
Well did you have you seen Russell Wilson
Now he's this is a guy
He was drafted
Yeah
But they had a clip of him
Doing batting practice
For the Pirates
A couple like a month ago
Didn't he try
Didn't he do a spring training?
It was unbelievable.
It was so good.
I'm a Russell Wilson guy now.
I've always disliked Ronald So Wilson.
I was never there.
But I watched him swing a baseball bat and like, oh, well, something moved for me a little.
Very nice.
I think he went to camp with some, was it?
Yeah.
Was it the Mariners?
I think he did like a stint when he was in Seattle, like a week or two in camp.
Yeah, apparently he was really, really good.
I would love to see a TV.
So maybe it's probably not a good thing.
Yeah.
Maybe you don't want your quarterback to look like a baseball player.
No, yeah, probably not.
Well, I mean, Russell Wilson was.
did have a pretty damn good eight-year run there.
Yeah, sure.
And then whatever happened the last two years happened.
I'm trying to think of, like, fun.
Like an Al Harris and that swagginess out on the field.
Yeah.
Maybe he brings the fur coat out.
Okay.
I could see, like, a Sheldon Brown being pretty fun.
I love Sheldon Brown.
Yeah.
B.G would be a great one.
I mean, if you need a vibes guy on the golf course.
He'll cackle for you.
Yeah, BG will keep the spirits high.
But I think
Jake Elliot is the best golfer
He is the best golfer
Isn't he like a two
He's like a two handicap or something
And I would imagine Sequin's pretty fun
On the golf course
To bring him the new guy
Yeah
Okay
Yeah how about you
Anybody you'd really want to get out there
And tee it up with
Sue Opeta
Nice
Oh well Elijah Riley
Christian Alice
Well Christian Alice
I mean that's
That would make me too emotional
I wouldn't be able to
I mean I couldn't swing through my tears
Any idea what he's up to this off suit?
He's with the Patriots.
Yeah.
He keeping the track of the following.
Oh, yeah.
Do you know his summer plans?
Like, does he vacation?
Does he golf?
He's all ball, man.
Okay.
He's just studying in the lab.
He's studying, he's working on his body.
He's got it all going on.
He's drinking olive pop to make sure his guts right.
No doubt about that.
Yeah. It's probably watching the sermon that I gave.
His downtime.
One repeat.
To help him, help pump himself up.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
I think that's what's going on.
How was your golf game?
My score and my handicap is getting worse, but I feel like I'm playing better.
It makes no sense.
Steps back to take a step forward.
Yeah, I used to have like a real power.
I called it a power fade.
Most people call it a slice.
Now I've corrected that to where I'm drawing.
But it's a hook?
Yeah, well, sometimes.
But sometimes it's perfect.
If you can get a reliable draw, that's the dream.
That's fantastic.
Yeah.
So, you know, striking the ball better than I have, but scoring the same and the handicap getting worse.
So, okay.
That's golf in a nutshell.
It's beautiful.
Not too bad.
What did you make of the Justin Jefferson monster contract?
Yeah, I didn't dive into the details of it.
Four years, 140 and how much was guaranteed, like 125?
Something like that.
I'll tell you in a minute.
Yeah, that's not bad coin.
If you can get it.
I mean, I actually thought he was going to get a little bit more.
110 guaranteed.
110 guaranteed.
So now, I guess the ripple effect is C.D. Lamb will be signing soon. Waddle already went.
Well, I don't know why C.D. Lane would sign soon now. Why didn't they do it before?
The Cowboys continue to do this. It is bad business. And it's probably it's a cheap thing that they have going on.
They do not spend cash. Yeah. And again, the Devante Smith, you know, was it not Tank Dell, the other guy in Houston.
Nico Collins?
Nico Collins signs a deal that's close to Devante Smith. You go, man, Howie Ruffey.
really is just like a genius of getting these deals done.
And look, the player doesn't have to take the deal that the Eagles offer,
but they clearly believe in what they have going here,
and they're willing to take the cash at the time they do,
and it always impacts the Eagles in a positive way.
And we did say it at the time,
that the Devante one in particular looked like he could have got more.
Yes.
And I think that speaks to kind of what they have going on here.
I think it's a good group,
and they all like each other, and it's a winning culture,
and they're comfortable in the area and what's going on?
It's just like, yeah, sure, okay, all sacrifice, maybe 10 or 15 million.
How's the quality of that Bobby King picture that Zach just...
That's better than the Clintoner, yeah.
He took a second to get it focused.
Does he know about, like, the light trick on the iPhone?
Apparently not.
Okay.
Well, I mean, nothing will be as good as the Sean Desai photo.
Please tell me you have that, like, at the ready, just, like, shared.
I think enough people have it at the ready that it's...
That was, I think, my favorite,
my favorite Perian post game show this year.
Yes.
Because that photo.
And people just doing like the pixelated.
It looked like a Jimmy Kemsky drawing.
Yeah, it did.
I actually looked worse.
It did.
Yeah.
So Zach's doing all right.
He's down there.
Big J. journalism.
And getting all the coaches speaking.
So that's good stuff.
What's your level of sicko-dum when it comes to,
like, you're going to pay attention to these assistant coaches?
Absolutely not. No, I am out.
I don't think there's a lot. I do have interest in Fangio and Kellanmore.
Kellyn Moore more because I know so little about him that I wouldn't mind just, you know, kind of trying to get like a little bit of a vibe check on them and see like what kind of duty is.
But like nothing serious.
I mean, it's coaches talking in June, you know what I mean?
I'm not going to take a lot from it.
Is there anything you're looking forward to this week?
Well, this is a little bit interesting because this is mandatory meeting camp, right?
So everybody on the roster is required to be there?
James Bradbury?
And we wonder about is James Bradbury going to be here, right?
Because the Eagles have obviously drafted corners.
They've got Isaiah Rogers coming in.
He did not play very well last year.
Harry Roseman has talked about that.
There was the expectation that now the June 1st has hit.
Maybe they would release him.
You can spread out the dead cap a little bit better that way.
There's also the possibility that they're holding out
for a trade for maybe some marginal compensation in return?
Well, I don't think you're going to get that.
Maybe somebody that can compete for it.
But Christian Parker, the new defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator
as the vacuum makes an appearance,
is that Christian Parker says that James Bradbury is very motivated
and he's had a great mentality when it comes to learning a new defense.
So they are at least proceeding as if he is still a part of the team.
That's interesting.
You know, I think one of the encouraging thing from OTAs in terms of,
press conference stuff last week was Slay's attitude.
And now these are all words, but, you know, by all accounts, team captain, loved in the locker
room, I thought his words were incredibly positive that he's here to, you know, help usher in
these young guys and show him the way and show him the defense and his days aren't long.
Like, to have that mindset of like, yeah, I'm one of the old heads and I'm going to show these young
guys how it's done, I think is incredibly beneficial.
And if you have a Bradbury that's bought in and does the same.
same thing? I mean, hell, what else could you want for Isaiah Rogers, Cooper DeGene, and Kenyon
Mitchell to lean on those guys? And leadership, like we talked about with Kelsey, same thing in the
film room. You know, like, that's invaluable stuff. If they're willing to sit in there and go over
film and here's what I'm seeing with his hip movement and here's his outside foot doing that,
you know, it's never a bad thing. So if those guys are bought in in that leadership type of role,
that's just, that's tremendous. So my devil's advocate here is, as a, as a, as a,
a fan of James Bradbury, the person.
Yes. Seems like a real good.
Great kind of deal with. I'd like appreciate talking with him.
I think he has great perspective.
I think he goes about the game the right way.
But just if not more so valuable than that insight,
and you already have Darius Slay there who in theory can give you that,
is the reps.
Like, I don't want if I, if the goal is for Quinnian Mitchell to be the best player possible in December for this Eagles team.
You just want a baptism by fire?
Yeah, I mean, those reps matter.
Like, at some point, you got to, and Howard Roseman talked about this,
and Zach and I have said, like, it does not seem like he and Nick Siriani are on the same page about this.
At some point, those guys got to play, and you got to give him shots, and they're only going to get better by playing.
Well, I don't think Bradbury's play on the field last year really gives you any concern there that he's not going to get beat out, right?
Yeah, but is, I mean, is James Bradbury going to be happy to be here as, you know, cornerback five?
I would be very happy getting those direct deposits every two weeks.
And if, you know, like he could just...
He's getting those anyway.
Yeah, I mean, maybe it's something where him and his agent have spoken to Howie and it's just like they're working on something.
I don't know.
I'm just like it's like the Earth's deal from...
Yeah, kind of.
I'll be honest.
I'm shocked to see him on the roster.
It's June 3rd.
You know, I thought June 1st, he was the post designation cut.
But if he's going to buy in and be there, I don't think it takes away from anything because of,
what you said he's a good dude and him and sleigh kind of seem to know their spot in all of this
yeah so it's interesting it's one of those like steel sharp and steel like i'm with you that they
want him getting the job kenyon mitchell um but i'm also a big proponent of like earning it and going
up against somebody that's going to give you competition he's going to michael is going to be
the opening day starter well with bradbury there's a full circle thing right because the only reason
he came to the Eagles in the first place
was because the Giants waited and waited
and waited until they released him after June 1st.
I think from the Eagles perspective,
this is not necessarily to the benefit of the player,
but at this point,
they might as well wait until training camp
and see if somebody suffers an injury
and is then willing to give up some level of compensation for him.
And frankly, maybe that's not the worst thing for Bradbury either
because then you're going a place that you're really wanted
and expected to contribute,
but I'm sure he would rather have it be his own choice.
Yeah, I just had a little bit of deja vu, actually,
because when we got the Bradbury News,
we were right outside by the fireplace at this tournament.
He signed with the Eagles this day, I guess, two years ago.
So, yeah, that's just kind of a little weird deja vu moment.
James Bradbury and the Brian Dawkins golf outing just tied together.
Nice, and you and those bartenders just celebrating.
Yeah, no, I remember going over to Anthony, and I was like, dude,
because I think he was talking with, I want to say BG and the freak,
Javon Curse at the time.
and I just kind of walked by
and I like mouth to him
I was like Bradbury
because I thought it was a great deal at the time
and it was for 12 months
Who do you think
linebackers coach Bobby King
named as his four favorite linebackers
all time? All time, wow
This is according to Jeff McLean
I don't know Bobby King's resume
to know where he's stopped
and who he's worked with
because I'm sure there's a guy or two
he's worked with along the way
let's say Ray Lewis
Ray Lewis yes
Let's say
Bobby Wagner
No
Ray Lewis is the most recent of the four
Oh
Okay
He's dipping back
Wow
Datwin
Great great guess
No
No much he went much more
Sort of standard
He went chalk
He went sort of chalk
Although he did give one guy
Who's not an eagle's favorite
Not
Also like
I don't really think as an inside linebacker you can call Lawrence Taylor a linebacker.
I think that's kind of cheating.
Yeah, a little bit of the loophole in the system.
He goes, Ray Lewis, Lawrence Taylor, Jack Lambert and Dick Butkus.
I was thinking Jack Lambert, okay, and Dick Buckkus.
Jack Lambert is a real concussion uncle.
Like, who's your favorite?
Nobody does it like Jack Lambert does it anymore.
I choose glass and his coffee.
Yeah, absolutely.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's a typical football guy kind of answer right there.
I think so.
Is Bobby King the most football guy on the staff?
Who's the biggest football guy?
Having had a chance to talk to Bobby King, yeah.
Like a football guy.
I think if you were going to like just place odds on which position is going to have the most football like concussion uncle type guy.
I mean, it's got to be line back.
Yeah.
Where does Stoutland rank in the football guy power rankings?
Probably number two.
Okay.
Right.
Offensive line got to be, you know, it's a war of attrition.
Yeah.
We have a bunch of new faces in here this year.
So you're not familiar with the full staff.
Who else jumps out of you is like just lives, eat, and breeze football?
Can't leave the NovaCare.
just addicted to the grind.
The grinds and mindset.
Well, again, without having talked to the new guys of the holdovers.
Is Fangio?
I feel like tight ends coach Jason Michael is kind of a, you know, nuts and bolts football man.
Yeah, yeah.
Fangio wearing sweatshirts in the heat last week.
Is that just a football guy power flex?
Classic football guy move is you've got to dress opposite the weather.
So in the winter you're going shorts and a t-shirt.
And in the summer you're going long sleeve both sides.
I will be honest, whenever I play.
played sports at the very low level that I did.
Whenever somebody did that anti-weather flex,
it got in my head a little bit.
So, like, when you saw that guy in eight-degree weather,
you know, with, like, nothing on, you're like, oh, shit.
Like, that guy.
Yeah, but also that guy's ready.
It's a poser.
Right, like.
But I was mentally fragile.
Yeah.
I would just go, oh, man, I'm freezing.
How's that guy doing that?
Yeah.
Yeah.
What are you going to do?
All right.
Julie, do you want to do the, the Brian Westbrook?
Why don't we do that?
Before the show started, had a chance to talk to one of my favorite dudes.
Brian Westbrook, great conversation from, you know, dad to dad, some dad talks.
We didn't get into the Tupperware talk.
We were kind of against it.
Yeah.
Now, I remember this.
This is the, I think about it every time I'm going through that dastardly Tupperware
drawer, you know, B. West had tweeted it like maybe a year ago or something about just how awful that thing is.
The Tupperware drawer is terrible.
We have, like, the lazy Susan corner cabinet is ours.
Okay.
Oh, you make that interesting.
Yeah.
That's more of like a pantry for us.
Okay.
And it gets off the rails quick in there.
So I stay diligent on top of it.
I try, but it's too many little things.
Like, are you, do you got to pack lunches for both kids, both days?
No, luckily not.
See, that's where it gets to me.
It sees all these little containers, all the little snacks.
You got to get like the tackle box.
Well, that's what the lunch.
That's what the lunch goes in.
But then it's just.
I have a severe kitchen OCD.
So like, when I like.
Might that?
Yeah.
When my wife packs the fridge after grocery, I've banned her from doing it.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, you can't be doing that.
No, she's out.
And then she doesn't put anything back in its designated area.
I run a pretty tight ship when it comes to OCD organization.
So I don't let that Tupperware drawer get out of.
Like, if it's bad and I see it, I go, okay, in the next 10 days like that is getting completely, I'm starting over.
And what I've found is the key is you got to keep the lid on the thing.
All chaos ensues if you start separating.
and like stacking.
So you have to keep them together.
Right to the side of it if it's in the corner.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
This is really good football talk.
I saw the guys over there.
They were like, oh, you guys are talking Tupperware?
Yeah.
Talking Tupperware?
Yeah.
You guys talking Topperware?
Yeah, we're a couple football guys talking Tupperware.
Jack Lampert famously.
Immaculate Tupperware.
Yeah, for absolutely no nonsense in his Tupperware drawer.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
You know what I wanted MTV Cribs of just like guys' Tupperware drawers.
You know, like, take me in some famous guys.
I'm going to give me empty cribs of Jack Lambert's grave.
I want to see what's up in the Tupperware drawer.
Jason Kelsey, how's your Tupperware drawer looking?
I think we could ask him that.
Anyway, let's hear what Brian Westbrook had to say when he sat down with us earlier.
All right.
We are back at the Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation golf event with Brian Westbrook himself.
You guys are big time.
I'm just trying to catch up.
I'm glad to be here.
You're making us look good.
How's the golf game?
It's gotten better.
It's getting better.
I think every time I'm out, I get a little bit better.
Does that help or not really?
That gives no answer.
The only way to get better is to play more.
That's what I tell my wife.
She doesn't buy it.
I think this year I've been shooting low 90s, so it feels good.
That's really good.
My issue, I mean, I'm no good golfer, but it's like the round never carries over.
It's like one day, I'm driving a great and I can't hit my irons and I can't jump.
I can't put.
The next round, I'm like, I'm the best chipper I've ever been in my life, but I can't.
It's hard to stack the days on top of them.
And that's the intoxicating thing, right?
If you could only put it together one time, but it's not going to happen?
I just need to put it together one time with my boys so I can get all their money and have some bragging rights.
It would be nice.
Yeah.
So Brian, obviously, when Brian Dawkins throws together something like this, it's a drop everything no matter what.
I'm there.
Got you, man.
Well, you know, Doc, just who he is demands that type of respect, certainly.
But I think he's been so important and critical to so many people that you see here.
And mostly I think about myself because I needed a mentor.
I needed someone to follow.
I needed someone to guide me the right way.
And that's what Brian is.
He's a guy that's not going to talk a bunch, but he's going to show you the path through his actions.
And then when you start to get to know him a little better and start to hear it, now you're like, okay, wow.
And then when you think about his ability to give back, his ability to impact, truly impact a community.
you just can't
there's no way that you cannot show up
to an event like this.
And so when you guys all get together, you know,
like there's nothing better than being on the team, right?
And so, like, is it instantaneous?
Like, you're just back to your old BS?
It is.
We sat out here last night
I had a couple of cigars and just telling all the old crazy stories
and you almost fought him and he almost won't you.
Remember the coach made us do that.
And Hugh and T and Tio did call.
Yeah, exactly.
And so you started telling these stories
and every year they get a little bit more interesting.
We can add a little bit more every year.
But it's just good being around the guys.
And, you know, you spend your early 20s around these men for all day,
almost basically all year.
Then, you know, after you retire, you're off to kids and you're living in a different place.
You don't see each other as much.
And it's a painful existence, really, because you get used to it.
You get used to being around the guys a lot and not having as many responsibilities.
And now, you know, you rarely see them.
And so when you have an opportunity to come together in an event like this,
It's just a great time.
So I know I agree, set the Swaray two years ago, took home the award for the best showman.
Did anybody steal the show last night?
I think everybody did a good job.
Everybody did a good job last night.
You know, again, we're raising money for a great cause.
People want to support it.
And if you have an ambassador, a front man like Brian, it's special.
It makes it special.
We have talked about on this show, sort of the operating idea of this show, is just some dads,
who are just talking Eagles most of the time.
I know you were in that life, right?
10, 7, and 5.
10, 7, and 5.
So I'm in the middle of...
Actually, things are starting to get better.
Yeah.
Now I can say, hey, you know you're not supposed to do that.
Why are you doing that?
Most of the time the answer is because...
Just because.
Because I wanted to.
I wanted to.
But at least I can have that conversation.
And so things are getting better.
I think we're headed in the right direction.
If we want to talk Eagles just a little bit,
thinking about Seekwon Barkley coming into this offense.
Yeah.
A new offense, too.
So he's changing.
teams and it's a new offense that they're
installing. You know, you
didn't have to, when you were here with the Eagles, it was
Andy Reed's offense, right? What do you
think that difficulty will be like for him in terms of
just sort of picking things up? I don't think it would be
too hard for them. I think
everyone's be learning the offense
and what you do with players
when you bring in a new system is you
give it to them in small pieces, small doses
and so that's what the OTAs are for. That's
what, you know, all these little mandatory
practices are for so guys can get a little small
piece and then you build on that.
We talk about the golf game, not building on each other.
That's what you have to do as a player.
You learn a little bit and then you build on these concepts.
And so Saquan, he's a vet.
He's smart.
He's a guy that can get it done.
I have no doubt that he'll learn the offense.
And listen, this is, when I went to San Francisco, it was similar offense, you know, different words, things like that.
And they just gave me packages and said, this is the package that you're definitely going to be in on.
And so for Seekwon, he probably is not going to need to know everything.
But as he goes, he'll continue to learn more and more.
So he'll figure it out fine.
And when you have talent like that, you just say, give him the ball.
Where does he feel comfortable with that?
Okay, perfect.
We can call the play for that.
He can remember that play and just give him the ball to let him go.
So when you see these new OTAs might be going away, less physical practices,
is part of you like, damn, I wish these rules were around when I was.
I missed it.
I missed the golden years of football right now.
Because listen, Andy Reid, we beat you guys up.
When free agents used to come to Andy Reed's practice,
they'd be like, what in the world are you guys doing it?
You're tackling to the ground.
You guys have physical every practice.
Two a days, yeah.
And that's what it was.
And here's the funny thing, when you look back in Andy Reed's record,
early September was tough for us as a team because we were all beat up.
We were just kind of getting out of camp mode.
And then October and November, we went on a run.
And we were kind of getting back together.
December.
Yeah.
And so that was Andy's philosophy.
But, you know, in camp, it was hard.
You know, it was hard and rough camping.
So now we see guys there are saying, hey, we never have two days.
We never going to hit.
I'm like, but here's the funny part.
I sound like Harold Carmichael and Mike Quick and I'm talking to urban friars,
but I sound like the old guys now.
That's what you become after you retire.
Not only did you miss that, you missed the Eagles finally paying a running back.
They finally played a running back, which is shocking.
I think Harvey had his eye on Sequo for a long time.
But, you know, what they're trying to do is protect the quarterback.
They want to make sure that they're a true investment.
Their big investment is protected.
It makes sense.
I just hope that Jalen is the person that I think he can be.
Sure.
Jalen is a solid player.
We understand that.
I think for them to win, he has to be exceptional.
So I asked Bo this last week.
Jalen's in a spot where like every quarterback in the league
would want those weapons in that line in front of them.
Is this an easy job or a hard job?
It's a pressure-filled job.
No matter what.
I mean, you're the quarterback of a football team like Philadelphia.
Philadelphia, there's going to be pressure.
There's going to be demands.
There are going to be thoughts that you should be doing things better.
Even when you win, they want you to be better.
So it's always going to be tough.
But listen, Jaylen went to Alabama, he played to Oklahoma.
That's pressure right there.
Sure.
To be able to come back and sit on the bench and Watson might take your spot, that's pressure as well.
And so he's used to it.
I don't think it's going to be anything that he cannot handle.
Last one for you is just as you look at this team and when you watch these guys play,
is there anybody who stands out to you is just like, I like that guy.
I like the way that he plays.
He sort of reminds me a little bit of myself the way he goes about it.
No, it's no one that reminds me myself.
But I have a love for AJ Brown.
Okay.
I love his physicality.
I love the way he moves.
I personally like him.
There's been something, and I don't know AJ that well, I've met him maybe once or twice.
And so there's been a couple times that he has stopped everything he's doing.
He was doing something that I can never do as a player.
When I was locked in for the game, it was all the game.
I couldn't think about.
I couldn't interact with the fans.
And I just, I couldn't do two things at the same.
time. But there's been multiple times where he stopped everything he's doing to come over and shake
my son's hand and have a word with my son. My son's favorite player. But I'm just, and it blows me
away because as a father, that's the only thing that you want for your kids to be happy, right? And so
that blows me away. And his ability to say, again, I couldn't do it. Compartmentalize and say,
okay, this is the game. This is around the game. And I'm still going to be able to do both. That's been
amazing. Of course, you know, his stats speak for themselves. He's been a great player.
And from the brotherhood standpoint, all you guys and as a father,
what is it like seeing Trott Jr. now going to this team?
Is that wild?
It's probably the most exciting thing that I saw in the draft.
I mean, I had a feeling, I thought he was going to go in the second round,
but I had a feeling that the Eagles would do the right thing.
I feel that strong about Howie.
And I think in the end it ended up working for everyone.
So hopefully he gets an opportunity to play.
Hopefully he gets an opportunity to show everybody that the combine numbers were not the true numbers,
didn't really show what he is.
When you put the tape on, he shows up on tape.
And so hopefully he gets an opportunity.
Brian, before you get out of here, big hoops fan,
the Sixers going to write the ship this off season?
What do you think?
Are we going to be all right?
I'm nervous as hell, man.
They have to find some help.
I mean, they know that as currently constructed,
they cannot win.
They have to do a little bit different.
You've got to get some of those Villanova kids in here.
Well, it's a mindset.
Can you bring that mindset?
And here's a thing.
There's not a lot of coaches in the NBA that can coach that mind.
mindset. Tibado can. And then you have to have the players that be able to fulfill that.
And those guys from Villanova have figured it out. They all are hungry.
We'll see if they can do that a couple years in a row. They've been able to be very successful
at it so far. Yeah, if I was a Nova fan, that would be a pretty fun team to watch. Yeah.
Absolutely. All right. Well, I'm there today.
I wouldn't need it. I want to have like two at a three. You got, you have the drives and the
puts. Let's get two at a lot. And also, I heard every drink you have takes a stroke ball for your game. That is true.
Best to do that.
That's my philosophy as well.
Keep that in the back pocket.
Thank you guys.
Thank you so much.
Back with more on the P.HL.
by Eagles show.
All right.
Thank you again to Brian Westbrook for stopping by here, once again,
at the Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation, charity golf outing at Penn Oaks Golf Club.
And if I don't think they have lines on, you know, I don't think you can bet on will Brian
Westbrook hit a hole in one?
How well will his scramble team do?
But you can bet on other stuff.
And the best place to do that is on the Bet Parks Sportsbook app
Because we are brought to you by the Bet Parks app.
Get in the zone with Bet Park's sports book.
The money is in the moments.
So I think the NBA finals doesn't start until Thursday.
Yeah, it's like a week off.
What are they doing?
I know.
But I guess you have to a lot for them to go sevens.
You don't have to?
Baseball doesn't do that.
You're right.
You should be able to shift on the fly.
It's stupid.
It is.
I agree.
Anyway, if you want to wait until Thursday, you can do that.
You can bet on some French Open stuff.
Absolutely.
Why not?
Because you can win big with all-day action on the Bet Parks Sportsbook app

here, Bo. The Reese Hoskins
return game. Reese
or Bryce to hit a home run
plus 200.
Okay. And Bryce just got Endel
player of the month honors on a little
bit of a heater himself.
That's a fun little bet to make.
And there's tons of fun stuff going on as well
here at PHLY.

18 holes with a golf cart tournament prizes and tea prizes.
A taste of Philly dinner and post round ceremony at the pavilion.
You're going to be there?
I sadly will not be.
Me neither.
It's the first Saturday of my vacation.
The first one they set up, I was able to make it.
Yeah, me too.
Then they reschedule.
And I was like, ah.
Brutal.
Yeah, tough.
But it's going to be a fun time nonetheless.
this weekend coming up for the Philly series.
Renee, Tyler, myself are going to be at Gall and Co.
I believe John's coming by at the Port Richmond location,
two locations for Gal and Co.
One in Port Richmond, one in Rockledge.
We're going to be out there for both games this weekend.
June 8th and 9th, just RSVP on all PHLY under the Events tab.
We're going to be given out Miller Light seats for both games to an upcoming Philly's game in Section 142.
You've got to RSVP to get those tickets.
So make sure you're considering becoming a diehard here at PHLY.
We have a ton of stuff going on, and it's only getting better and better as we go, Bo.
Our guy, Brendan, who helps set this thing up for us here.
Big Charlie O'Connor fan.
Oh, yeah, Charlie's guys.
I mean, Charlie's got a cult following out there, man.
People love Charlie's coverage of the Flyers.
Yeah, I mean, poor Kelsey, like if he was walking around it, he wouldn't be the biggest deal.
Charlie O'Connor would be fanning away the babes.
Charlie has that effect on it.
Yeah, why not?
Okay.
I don't know.
It's like a kind of a sad thing, but Larry Allen passes away.
Much younger than.
52 years old.
Very sad.
I believe he's from Delaware, isn't he?
Is that right?
I believe he's originally like a North Delaware guy.
But yeah, very sad to see that he passed away.
Well, I mean, there are only so many people who are unequivocally the best player
who ever played their position.
And he is one of them.
I was very wrong. He's from California.
He's from L.A. Yes. From Napa.
Look at that. He was born in Napa.
Yes, one of the best ever.
Really sad to see he passed away at age 52. That's far too young.
Well, I'm sure that, you know, some of the guys here with this Eagles team, those defensive linemen would have had, would have some stories about the best.
Oh, yeah. Jeez. I mean, you talk about a guy that just dominated the 90s.
I mean, Super Bowl after Super Bowl, just he was one of the best ever. Really sad to see.
Well, I really ground the show to a screeching halt on Larry Allen.
Deaths are always hard to bounce back from.
You know what's not funny?
Death.
The money is in the moment.
So we talked with Westbrook about Sequin.
That's going to be really fun.
What are your realistic expectations for Sequin this year?
I don't expect them to be the best running back in the league.
you know like I'm not going to that seems reasonable yeah like I just don't expect them to go out there and get you know
1,700 yards or something like that but I do think he's just competence on every down
I think he's a guy they're going to try and integrate into the passing game some and have some fun with
and I think the thing not that it was a fault of the andre swift last year but you know I think you
expected the Jalen Hertz running back kind of relationship to be a little better than maybe it was
So it should be really fun to see Sequin and Jalen this year.
There he is.
All right.
We bring him in.
Yeah, come on.
Yeah, come on, Brian.
What's up, ladies and gentlemen?
Brian Dawkins, sitting down.
Thanks so much, Brian.
Now, this is my third year at Brian's golf tournament here,
which does a great job benefiting the Impact Foundation that Brian has.
Brian, every year this tournament seems to get better and better.
I think word is out that this is one of the best.
golf tournaments in the area.
I mean, that's the plan to have people come out, first of all, to have a great time.
You know, great atmosphere.
You know, Steve and the crew, they do a great job with the course.
They're constantly updating the holes and making sure everything is plush.
And the environment, to me, is one of laughter, of joy and if having a great time.
But at the same time, blessing the foundation.
And tell us, for those of us who are watching and listening, who don't know more about the foundation and what you guys do.
So the Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation's, foundations,
our basic premise is to bless people with transformational moments.
So whether that be the children in the household, mainly single parent,
well only single parent households.
So blessing the parent in the household with opportunities to do specific things
and the children in the household to do specific things,
they probably wouldn't be able to do without the things,
the funds that these tournaments and all the other things that we do provide.
Also, we bless high schools with cerebral wellness programs.
I don't talk about mental health anymore.
It's too much negative connotations attached to it.
So I call it cerebral wellness.
And so those programs are in about 35 high schools.
We have close to 28, I believe, here in Philadelphia and the rest of them in Jacksonville, Florida.
And then about 20 of those schools are also doing financial literacy courses that we provide.
So that's what the funding for this goes to helping to build, you know, basically to tomorrow's leaders as far as I'm concerned.
Financial literacy, that's a brilliant thing because that's something to me that isn't taught at a young age.
Good, aren't you for doing that?
Because, I mean, once you get out of school, you know, like financial literacy is kind of a backbone of life,
and it's undertaught and kind of underserved there with kids.
So that's a beautiful thing you're doing.
So in all of those areas is really things that I've seen missing in my life, right?
So whether that be single parents, I have a lot of my friends.
that didn't have fathers in the household, and, you know, at least three of them lost their
life to the streets because of that, I believe. And, you know, from a financial literacy standpoint,
I didn't know how to write a check when I left, you know, high school. So understanding how to,
when you do have the opportunity to gain resources, how to maximize them, how to what is
investments, what is the stock market, what is interest rates, all of those things, so that you can
make wiser decisions with the money that you then are able to make with the knowledge that
you're going to gain going forward.
One thing we'd love to do for the foundation doc is if you don't mind signing this,
this Brian Dawkins' pennant, we're going to have viewers show us that you have donated
to the Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation on their website.
Send it to me at Bow at all p.hly.com, and then we will sort of, we'll do a random drawing
for somebody to get this Brian Dawkins signed pennant, which of course we had during draft
weekend, which was such a fun time.
What is it like when you get to see these guys?
these teammates one more time this weekend.
It's always, you know, have you played sports, right?
Yes.
Right.
So you remember going into the locker room with the guys, the ribbing,
you know, the missing with people's outfits and all of those things,
going back a past and talking about past experiences in life and all of that stuff.
So you get back into that mindset.
So you literally take yourself back to how you felt in those moments of dealing with
this is something like shenanigans in the locker room.
So being able to, you know, having, first of all, them have the Brian Dawkins or me as someone that they feel deemed worthy to come out to spend or, excuse me, invest their time, right, to come out to, you know, have a good time.
But, you know, like I said, to bless those single parents and those in those young people.
It's such an honor for me to have people that are willing to do that, to fly in.
You know, we do pay for, we do play for the flights, bro.
You know, but they're still, you know, in airports and all of those things to come out to spend time.
Traveling sucks, you know?
Sometimes it does.
Yeah, how was the soiree last night?
Anybody cutting a rug out there doing their best ice greases up on the stage?
No, no, nobody.
But the Czech books were open.
Good.
That's always a-
That's important.
That's the goal.
That's the goal.
So that's, you know, being able to, every year,
you talked about every year getting better and better at it.
So we're already way ahead of what we earned last year,
even before, you know, the swore even happened.
That's great stuff.
We'll talk.
Thank you so much.
best of luck with the rest of the day.
All right? Thank you so much.
So you're not golfing the day, right?
I'm trying.
Oh, you are? How's the game?
A little soldier golf.
You know the soldier golf, right?
No, what's that?
Left, right, left.
Yeah.
I got some of that.
Well, we really appreciate you taking the time,
and, of course, good luck on the event.
Thank you.
Thank you for coming up.
And again, if you want to win this Brian Dawkins-s-igned pennant,
show us sort of a receipt of a donation to the Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation
to me at bow at all phtelwine.com,
and we will raffle that off to the lucky winner.
Yeah, I mean, Brian, so, you know, he's a great dude.
And you can see, you know, what Brian talked about with us, you know,
the leadership when somebody like that, you know, sends the bat signal out of like,
hey, I need you.
Well, wait, we're going to say no to him?
Yeah, I mean, come on.
So you can tell he was, he had every man's respect in that locker room that he played with.
And it's funny, you know, like, these guys probably don't realize.
When you retire, I think you're like, oh, man, I'm really going to miss, like, the boys and, like.
Of course.
Don't you feel like your whole life is trying to get back to finding like teammates again?
Yeah, yeah, it really is.
So to see these guys acting like teenagers again getting together and having the laughs and cigars.
And it's a cool thing to watch because you know how close those guys are.
You know, Westbrook talked about it.
They're together more than like their families are a lot of the years.
So it's really cool to see the support he gets from all the guys.
All right.
Well, that'll do it for this episode of the P.H.O.Y. Eagles podcast on the scene at the Brian
Dawkins Impact Foundation Golf event.
We are back Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 3.30 p.m.
Zach and myself talking about Eagles minicamp what we have seen on the practice field and then noon on Friday with Zach and handsome rich.
We've got plenty to talk about.
Where did that nickname come from?
Is this a Bowulf special?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Any particular reason?
He's handsome and his name is Rich.
Okay.
Fair enough.
Pretty easy.
Right down the middle.
Yeah. And Rich's newsletter, by the way.
The best.
the time. It's great.
So it's free. It's not a diehard thing. So just sign up for it on the website.
Rich does a phenomenal job with the email. I feel like I can read it every morning and just go,
all right, I know exactly what happened in every sport, in every level. There's national links,
there's local stuff. It's tremendous.
And though the show is over, we're still going to be here the rest of the day trying to capture
some fun stuff that you can keep an eye out on all PHLY channels over the course of the rest of the week.
So stay tuned for that. Thank you to Brian Dawkins and Brian Westbrook for joining us.
Thanks to Julia and Chris for making it happen behind the scenes.
We will talk to you tomorrow at 3.30 for all of us here.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for listening.
And as always, we love you.
