Starting point is 00:00:00 Wednesday night prime time 8 o'clock edition of the PHAI Eagles podcast, Bo Wolf, Zach Berman. We got the schedule. We're going to talk about it. Zach, are you excited? I'm thrilled, excited. Been looking forward to this all day. Been looking forward to this all week. Been looking forward to this four weeks ahead. A much anticipated show.
Starting point is 00:01:00 We're my best shirt. I noticed that. I wasn't going to comment. Yeah. Let's go. Only for special occasions. Yeah. We've been here since the afternoon, fueled by Angelo's Pizza, so I'm in a great mood.
Starting point is 00:01:13 And it's cheese steaks. Don't forget those. Yeah, so this can be a good show. Good night. And the schedule just came out, so we have much to discuss. And Julia, working furiously on getting that graphic pounded out right live because we have no idea what it's going to look like. And you know what? We have it.
Starting point is 00:01:30 We've got to look at the first thing. If you miss yesterday's episode, the most important thing that we need to look at when The schedule comes out is the last weekend in October. Zach's brother's birthday. Shout out to Nick, getting married. It's not his birthday. I mean, sorry, his wedding. Not his birthday.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Much more important. Still try to make this the best year of your life, Nick. But last week in October, will Zach be able to do both the wedding and the game? Home game? Great. maybe a trip to Washington or New York. Just show them the schedule. Very doable.
Starting point is 00:02:10 What happens? Let's take a look. Unfortunately, October 27th, week eight is a trip to Cincinnati. Zach, is it doable? 425 game. So, yes, we'll go through game by game here. But to answer your question succinctly, yes, we'll get to it. The 425 game will allow me to fly out that morning.
Starting point is 00:02:32 There's a flight from Philly to Cincinnati. that leaves at 8 a.m. I'm going to book that probably when I get back tonight. From LaGuardia? From New York? Oh, you're going to come back to Philly. No, the wedding is in Philly. The wedding is in Philly.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Yeah, yeah, I'll be good. I mean, as long as there's no weather delays or anything in the airport. The only time I've ever gone the day up to a game was when my wife was pregnant. But I think this is a good reason, too. So anyways, let's get to the things like a game. Well, listen, this is all about your relationship with Roger Goodell. You have done a lot to scratch his back over the ears. Would he do enough to scratch yours?
Starting point is 00:03:07 And I think that this is the perfect level of relationship that most fans have with Roger Goodell. He has done the bare minimum for you. He has made it doable, but not convenient. There's no obligation to do it. Guess what? You're going to have to download a ninth streaming service to watch this game. Yeah, all right. We'll get to that at the end.
Starting point is 00:03:26 I don't understand why people are so upset about having a streaming service to watch a game, right? people are. We'll save that for the end because I think that's going to be a debate about our different sensibilities. Yes. Mr. Technology is always right. We'll save that for the end. Okay, the Eagles, opening up the season. Week one, you already knew this one, Friday night, September 6th in Sao Paulo, Brazil, against Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers. We've got Reed watching. What up, Reed? Go to sleep, man. We want to hear about, we want to hear about Reed's
Starting point is 00:04:00 projected record. Now that he knows what the schedule looks like. Great way to start the season, Zach. In Brazil, Friday night. Again, it's going to be 915 local time. I can't tell you who's going to win when I can't tell you is who's going to lose. That's anyone who's wearing green to that game. We'll get to that at another show as well.
Starting point is 00:04:18 A little tease. Is that a stabbing tease? So, yeah, Green Bay Packers here, week one. We knew this game was there, 915 local time. So late game there. It's like the old Monday night football. Tough time to see, well, the Green Bay Packers made the division around last year. They emerged late in the season, looked outstanding in the postseason.
Starting point is 00:04:40 New defensive coordinator, Jeff Hathley, but Jordan Love continued. You know, he's stepping into his second year as the starting quarterback there. They add Josh Jacobs on the free agent market. So it will be a fun game to watch. Are we doing our game-by-game predictions now, or do you want to go through all the games first? No, let's do them now? Okay. I want to ask you before we get to the game prediction for this game, the question that
Starting point is 00:05:04 a cousin I talked about this morning. Oh, yes. Backwards hat, Bo. Jalen Hertz. Jordan Love, who are you taking for the next eight years? Joan Hertz. I think I'm taking Jordan Love. Really?
Starting point is 00:05:18 You love the love, huh? I think so. Okay. Interesting. I'm aware that that's a little bit of recency bias. They're both 25 years old. Same draft class? I just, I just, uh,
Starting point is 00:05:30 I just really like them. I mean, that division or that playoff game last year against Dallas, it's hard not to like. That was amazing. So I can see that, but Joan Hertz has led a team to the Super Bowl, went toe for toe, went toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes, has been a bona fide an MVP candidate. I'll stay with Jayhont Hertz. Okay, so the Eagles opening up the season in Brazil, Friday night, how do you think they start things off? Friday night in Brazil, hard game to predict. Openers are always difficult to protect,
Starting point is 00:06:06 but I'm going with the more talented team here. The more talented team from my estimation is the Philadelphia Eagles. One and no, Eagles. I'm going with the Green Bay Packers, 0-1. Okay, why? Because Jordan Love? No, because of Jordan Love. Because there's a lot of moving parts with this team,
Starting point is 00:06:24 new offense, new defense. I'm just, I'm going with the Packers. Okay. I think Philadelphia, the next game is on Monday night game. You need a long week of anger to really get the season started in the proper way. What color jersey are the Eagles wearing that game? Pink. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:44 I mean, someone has to wear green with these two teams. Well, I mean, the Eagles could wear black, the Packers could wear white. I guess that's right. You know, but the deal here is that the team that plays in Sao Paulo, their number one rival wears green, and it is a very serious thing there that you can. cannot wear green. Supposedly. We'll get more into that.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Well, you're alluding to it and got to call it out. Exactly. But if the Eagles wanted to kind of screw over the Packers, the Eagles can choose white. I don't think the Packers have an alternative color, do they? They have a yellow jersey maybe, but Packers should be forced to wear green. You wonder if they're thinking that way.
Starting point is 00:07:19 It's a movable chess piece right there. Always fair and love in football, right? You get it. Jordan Love? I thought it was a Dave Canales reference. Save that one for later in the season. Oh, that. You can save.
Starting point is 00:07:31 You can save. save that one for December 8th, yes. Yes. The fact that I know that Reed is watching me means that I have to change precisely what I'm saying just a little bit. Well, here, how about before we do game by game, why don't you just run down the schedule for everybody?
Starting point is 00:07:49 Fair enough, that's a good point. Okay, all right. Week 1, September 6th, as we said, against Green Bay in South Palo. Week 2, Monday night football once again, welcomes Kirk Cousins as the home opener for the Philadelphia Eagles Monday night football Jason Kelsey, presumably in attendance against the Atlanta Falcons.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Week three, the Douglas Meyer Bowl, a trip down to New Orleans, one o'clock game. Week four, another one o'clock game in the NFC South against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And then there comes the early season by, the week five by. Eagles returning from the by to play Michael Dunn
Starting point is 00:08:30 and the Cleveland Browns 1 o'clock in week 6, October 13th, the following week, a trip to the New York Giants for another 1 o'clock game. And you will notice a lot of 1 o'clock games on the early part of this schedule. Week 8 at Cincinnati, 425, we alluded to that, followed by a week 9 Sunday night football game against Doug Peterson and the Jacksonville Jaguars. After that, a trip to Dallas or Arlington for 424, game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Starting point is 00:09:02 That's 1110. The following week, a short game, Thursday night against the Washington commanders at home. You follow that with a trip across the country in week 12 to play the Los Angeles Rams, SoFi Stadium. Zach's favorite place in the world, that's an 1124 game. And then this is probably the only schedule, difficult portion of the schedule,
Starting point is 00:09:26 just in terms of the way things are laid out, is having to go across the country to play the Rams, and then to Baltimore for the following week to play what looks like on paper to be the best team on the Eagle schedule, and that is a 425 game against Lamar Jackson and Co. And then as it has been sort of characteristic for the Eagles over the past few years, the close of the schedule on paper looks pretty easy. You've got December 8th against the Carolina Panthers,
Starting point is 00:09:54 1 o'clock for a home game. The following week, a home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. at 425. Then you go down to Landover for a 1 o'clock game against the Washington commanders on December 22nd. Week 17, you've got the only difficult game it looks like, and that's home against the Dallas Cowboys 425. Interesting that neither Cowboys game in prime time,
Starting point is 00:10:16 which is a little bit of a departure from recent history. And then the season closes week 18 with a home game against the New York Giants. And then just to fill everybody in on the preseason games, because we were, you know, a little sleep behind the curtain, we were able to work ahead on the regular season. I mean, Julia, just pounding the thing on just now. Chris, Chris did it.
Starting point is 00:10:36 Preseason opener is Friday. It's Friday, August 9th at the Baltimore Ravens. Then Thursday, August 15th, at the New England Patriots, we're anticipating a joint practice, according to Mike Reese before then. And then Saturday, August 24th, 1 p.m. game against the Minnesota Vikings. Ooh, you don't see a lot of Vikings preseason for the years. Yeah, you don't see a lot of Saturday games. Yeah, we don't like a week three of the preseason Saturday.
Starting point is 00:11:00 No, that's a little tough. There's a wedding that weekend that I was supposed to be at. Okay. I just saw that one as you were doing the rundown. You know what, Zach? Third preseason game, I'm convinced. Third preseason game. You are, you're not even off the hook, you're not even supposed to be there.
Starting point is 00:11:21 It's a home game. Go to the wedding. Yes. Yes, I know. I know. Good friend. Yes. I will be at the wedding.
Starting point is 00:11:29 But you'll be miserable there, as what it sounds like. I did miss a preseason game once for a wedding under that rationale. That was a preseason game. And the people at the wedding must have thought that I had like bladder issues because I kept leaving, watched the game on my phone. Most likely they just weren't even paying attention to you at all. And it was the Eagles Packers game with San Bradford. Oh, like he was like the best performance of all time.
Starting point is 00:11:53 And I remember saying, Emily, I remember saying, I missed the best preseason performance that's ever happened, and she looks at me like, who did I marry? Like, who is this guy? Anyways. Good question. Yes. Anyways.
Starting point is 00:12:06 Who's getting married? My buddy Mark out in L.A. Oh, where's the wedding? Out in L.A. Oh, yeah, you got to go. Yeah. Yeah, agreed. If you can even sniff the atmosphere of Sofi Stadium, you've got to get there.
Starting point is 00:12:19 I won't sniff the atmosphere. Anyways, that's the game by game. And, yeah, we'll get into the particular stuff. the schedule. But my quick overview, first off, we knew the opponents, but easier schedule than last year, even the layout of it. It's a pretty, it's a, yeah, it's a pretty comfortable layout. Yes, there's, oh, Emily's watching, we are going to the wedding. That text just came in.
Starting point is 00:12:46 There we go. It's over. No more conversation needed. No more conversation needed. Done and dusted. So, yeah, so there's no gauntlet on this schedule, right? Last year, you got to understand Jaron Hall might play in that game. Last year, the Eagles had this stretch. We all remember the like six games stretch where every week was just a really difficult game. This year, the only time you kind of see, they got the Rams, Ravens back to back. Yeah, that's like the only difficult bit of scheduling.
Starting point is 00:13:20 Maybe Bengals. Jaguars, Cowboys, but you're really kind of squeezing it there. So there's nothing like that. So I'm reading the comments. With all the respect, you aren't a heart surging. I am aware of this, okay? A lot of love for Emily, I mean, it's clearly the most popular person on the show. I just take pride of my job.
Starting point is 00:13:48 That's all I'm saying. Okay, anyways. Yeah, so that quickly jumps out. The other thing, the early buy, not ideal, but like I said, sometimes players kind of like that. The other thing I'll say with the early buy. It's a pretty early buy. But this is what I'm going to add, is that if you have an early buy,
Starting point is 00:14:07 what you don't want is an early Thursday game. And they have a late Thursday game. So they have that mini buy in November where they get the extended time off going into the backstretch of the schedule. They do not board a flight after November 24th. So after Thanksgiving, they're not dealing with any holiday travel, right? At Baltimore, versus Carolina, versus Pittsburgh, at Washington, versus Dallas, versus the Giants. You explain that because this was your tease for the show that you really wanted to get people hooked on,
Starting point is 00:14:35 explaining why it is that the Eagles don't board a flight in December. Explain. Well, the two road games are quick trips. They take a train to Washington. They still do that, the train the New Carleton, right? Yeah. And then I believe they'll take a bust. the boat well I don't know they could take a train to Baltimore too maybe a bus maybe a train
Starting point is 00:14:51 don't know specific is they don't know specifically but um they yeah so they say it's easier travel and then it's not about us the reporters but it's easier travel like that's neither of those games you're staying over you're just going there and back well now everybody can turn the turn the show off they've found out why it is that well no because we're doing our the first thing i said was the game by game predictions everybody wants to find out why we How we explain why the Eagles. Oh, Marissa Morris, Marissa Dunn, shams in him a little late. Of course, the week six party.
Starting point is 00:15:26 We mentioned it. We said Michael Dun & the Browns, but we haven't gotten to the game yet. Marissa, I just want you to know that in tomorrow's, well, later tonight maybe, we have the game-by-game write-ups that coming out on all PHY. Please be a die-hard for that. But of course there's- Can we get Marissa a free die-hard subscription? I imagine Marissa is a big supporter of PHLI, yes. Right, Marissa?
Starting point is 00:15:48 Yes. We'll get one from Michael. Yes. Yeah, exactly. But, of course, there's a Michael Dunn reference in breaking down that game. It has to be. There's literally nothing else to care about. Well, that's not true.
Starting point is 00:15:59 I mean, Kevin Stefanski, Jim Schwartz, there's a lot of storylines in that game that are also mentioned in my write-up. Not sense. It's all about Michael Dunn. But, you know, I'll just put it this way, and I'll get to what we do the game by games, but G. G.O. and Carter is going to get off to a good start to the season. It's going to have a tough matchup.
Starting point is 00:16:15 And we have the same write-up. This is disappointing. Oh, okay. Tough matchup when Michael Dunn comes in. That's okay for the same write-up. It's okay. I think what people like about that is that they know it's done independently, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:25 It's not like we're influenced by each other. Sure. So, why you're... Yeah, this little piece of the pen popped out. Yeah, that'll excited. Good teammate. All right. Before we get back to the game by game,
Starting point is 00:16:40 any other, like, sort of pivot points that you look to? Like, the first half of the schedule looks pretty easy on paper. Yeah. if you're breaking it down, like, let's say the first eight weeks of the season, would you say like you feel like you have to come out of there, like six and two, five and three? Well, there's an imbalance of road games. So if you're operating under the presumption, a lot of road games early. Yeah, if you're operating under the presumption that road games are more difficult to win,
Starting point is 00:17:10 then six and two would be ambitious. But from an opponent perspective, sure, I mean, they're going to be favorite. Well, we'll get into it tomorrow. I imagine we'll see the airway lines for all these games, but we'll see how many games they're favored for. One other thing I look for when the schedule comes out is how many short weeks they're on, right? And they really only have one short week this whole season. Now, one thing we don't know because we haven't seen everybody's schedule is how many teams they're playing that have, you know,
Starting point is 00:17:37 coming off by week, stuff like that. But we'll keep an eye out. So they only have, so yeah. So Monday to Sunday, week two to week three, Atlanta at New Orleans. Obviously the Thursday night games is a short week. presumably if Washington is not coming off a by, then Washington all has the same amount of days rest. But you're looking at that quick Monday to Sunday turnaround.
Starting point is 00:17:58 And then you're also kind of look for back-to-back road games. But the only time that they go on flights in back-to-back weeks are New Orleans and Tampa. Because when they're at Cincinnati, that's preceded by the Giants. That's just drive up the turnpike. When they go to Baltimore, that's preceded by the Rams. so Baltimore is either the train or the drive. In any event, from a travel perspective, it's a very conducive schedule for the Eagles
Starting point is 00:18:28 if you think about the wear and tear. I know that there's some of those charts that are coming out now about how many miles the Eagles are flying. That is disproportionately weighed by the fact that they're going to Brazil. If you take Brazil out of that, it's a lot different. Yeah, fair point. We made our predictions for the schedule yesterday, trying to make some off-the-wall predictions.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Got one right. I nailed the early season by coming to Eagles way. They were overdue for one of those. What happened with that Doug Nussmeyer scoop you thought you had? My goodness. New OrleansSaints.com, can you be trusted ever again? Will I ever turn to you as a reliable source of information? I pinned my prediction hopes on you.
Starting point is 00:19:11 I was so excited to see Doug Nussmeier. I mean, where you? Fill us in. Fill us in for the people who haven't seen this. Okay. What the nugget was. So on Saints.com has a where are they now on Doug Nussmeyer, right? From like six weeks ago, like a month ago?
Starting point is 00:19:32 From a month ago, back in April. And the Saints, you know, he played for the Saints, okay? And this is the Eagles quarterback's coach. Eagles quarterback's coach. And it said in November, I'll even pull this up. It said in November he's making, he'll make his work. turn to, with the Eagles, to, so I thought, oh goodness, the Saints website got this great scoop. And I got to give credit words to Eagles Nut, Craig Richards found that.
Starting point is 00:20:03 But in the, here you go. Oh, here you go. Here, former New Orleans Saints quarterback, Doug Muslin'nye, this is the lead of the story. former I'm sorry, former New Orleans Saints quarterback Doug Nussmeyer
Starting point is 00:20:21 will be making a homecoming appearance in the Caesar's Superdome in November but if he has his way he'll be leaving the Saints with a loss. So I read that
Starting point is 00:20:31 and I'm thinking and by the way if you go into my Marriott account right now I got hotel rooms in November I got a head here I'm trying to save
Starting point is 00:20:42 PHOI this money so I narrowed down the weekends it could be, and I'm, you know, I have all these hotel rooms I've got to cancel now. I found, I found incredible rates. I was going to stay at like the nicest hotel in New Orleans for a great rate because I got on it early. They led me astray, yes. No, I got to tell you. Yes. As someone who used to work for the team website, the notion that the person writing, now, the byline here, not just a byline that says special to
Starting point is 00:21:17 New Orleans Saints.com. The notion that a freelancer for the website who is entrusted with the where are they nows has a line to Roger Goodell about the schedule six weeks out, unfortunately, you got what you paid for
Starting point is 00:21:36 on that one. You got what you deserved. I mean, I know I'm naive or goable sometimes, right? But I believe what I I read. How's this shaking your faith in journalism? It certainly makes me, you know, what's the expression? If your mother says she loves you, you know, you should at least check, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:55 you should check a second source, right? I need to check a second source on that one, I guess. Oh, man. Tough pull, tough draw. Yeah. The Nussmeyer Bowl, no longer happening. All right, before we keep going, let's talk about our friends at Shady Rays. Because the season, we know what's happening now.

Speaking, by the way, of tickets, I saw in the chat. Someone said, are there any good copy? college games. I was going to ask you this. Of course, I looked that up already. Yeah, we're on the same page here.
Starting point is 00:24:47 I was going to ask you this right now. Okay, yeah, so some quick games that I looked up. If you go to the Cincinnati game, you go up the road, if my geography is correct, Ohio State. Ohio State's playing Matt Rule in Nebraska that day. Good game to go to. If you go to New Orleans, okay, the day before, you drive out to Baton Rouge about an hour, 15 minutes,
Starting point is 00:25:07 death of that or, you know, it's always sunny in Tiger Stadium. never rains at Tiger Stadium. That's the John Ed. Bradley book, right? They play Florida, the Florida Gators. You can see Garrett Nussmeier play. Gett Nussmeier. Yes. If you go to the Eagles Bucks game and you want to drive about an hour and a half to Orlando, you can see UCF against the Colorado Buffaloes. You can imagine that the NBR staff is all over that matchup. So those are just a few that jumped out when I checked. Oh, there's also No, no, I'm sorry. Anything in Texas? No, I apologize. The LSU, it's not LSU, Florida. That was if the Nussmeyer Bowl happened in November.
Starting point is 00:25:52 It is LSUU, UCLA. Oh. Yes. Deshawn Foster going down to. And what about L.A.? U.S.C. not home that weekend? I didn't look that up. I should look that up.
Starting point is 00:26:02 Oh. You know what? You thought you did your research. This is shaking my foundation of trust in journalism just like yours. Yes, okay. All right. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:26:12 back to the game by game. Week two. Now, we both expect this to be a Monday night game after the Thursday. And I said on the show yesterday, my first inclination was Kirk Cousins is coming back again. And then I backtracked and went to the Doug Peterson Bowl for Jason Kelsey. But it turns out to be Kirk Cousins or Michael Panix, Jr., coming in for the Eagles home opener on a Monday night. Yeah, Kirk Cousins does not fare well in home openers in prime time. The defense has done them in the past two times.
Starting point is 00:26:41 And I imagine the defense puts on a show for Jason Kelsey, and Kelsey's return to Lincoln Financial Field. Why was the defense put on a show for him? Because with the last two times, Kirk Cousins came to Philly on those games, the defense had over-parallering performances. Okay. Yeah, I'm with you.
Starting point is 00:26:58 I'm not taking Kirk Cousins to come in here on a Monday night and win the game. Come on. Yeah. Great atmosphere. People are going to be jacked up from the PHLY pregame show. They're going to be excited for the post-game show. Chris chimes in.
Starting point is 00:27:14 USC at UCLA, the weekend of the Eagles trip. Oh, wow. Okay. L.A. Go up with the Pasadena's. I can go to the Rose Bowl. Granddaddy of them all. All right.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Week three, September 22nd, 1 o'clock. The New Orleans Saints coming to, no, the Eagles going to New Orleans. How do you feel like the Nessmeyer Bowl will play out? Yeah. So the Eagles are going to have. I really don't like the Saints roster. I was looking at it today. I mean, what are they doing?
Starting point is 00:27:45 I think you could make a case that it is the franchise in the worst shape of anything like a league. I mean, at some point, Howie... There's no upside and there's not a lot to get out of. Yeah, the Eagles are going to be winning by three touchdowns in the second half, and Howie Roseman is going to text Mickey Loomis. You really traded me all of that so you could draft Trevor... So you could draft Trevor Penning, right? Like that...
Starting point is 00:28:07 I don't think I was rubbing it in. I don't think how. He wants to keep that door open for business. Yeah, exactly. He's probably texting, hey, Trevor Pennant looks great, man. Yes. Like, that was a good deal. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Let's make another one. Yeah. Yeah, I don't have much expectation for that Saints team being very good. So I got to win there too. So you've got them starting 3 and 0. 3 and 1. Okay. Week 4, last game before the buy.
Starting point is 00:28:32 They come back to Philly, then go back on the road to Tampa. Probably a debaunturous weekend for the Berman Brothers. I mean, we... If Bo Wolf was with us, it would be more debauchery. Why? You're the life of the party. I am not. We're kind of just watching.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Certainly not in Tampa. We're kind of watching college football games, having the Bet Parks app on our phones. Yeah. I'm scared to leave the hotel in Tampa. In Tampa, really? Great city. Great food city. It's fine.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Great food city, Tampa. Great Cuban cuisine, if you like Cuban cuisine. So, yeah, the Eagles had a tough post. a tough postseason game there last year. They returned to the site, and I don't know if they're going to fare much better. I actually like this Bucks team. People are sleeping on them.
Starting point is 00:29:20 So does Jason Light. The good thing for the Eagles is that even if this is their first loss of the season, when they return home the next day, it's not going to be the lead story of the Anthony Gargano show. Because that is the last day of the Major League Baseball regular season. The Phillies play the Washington Nationals that day. beat up the nationals
Starting point is 00:29:46 and finished with the best record in franchise history. I'm pretty sure that if the Eagles lose to the bucks, that will still lead the Anthony Gargano show. Okay, well, we'll see. We'll see. Unless the Phillies
Starting point is 00:30:02 have to play a wild, like a playing game that Tuesday, the Eagles are going to lead that show. True. I don't know. I was trying to cross. So you have him losing that game. I haven't losing that game. game, yes.
Starting point is 00:30:14 Interesting. Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans. I guess I'm just rattling on players. No. Yeah. What else are good to do? I think the bucks are underrated. By the way, we didn't talk about it, that Antoine Winfield contract.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I think it's a good team. They, the Eagles are better than the way they finished last year. But going down there, my guess is it's going to rain because it always seems to rain when we go to Tampa. So I'm picking the Eagles. Would you make a vote?
Starting point is 00:30:44 Tom Brady's saying that he regrets doing the road. I don't blame him. I don't blame him. I mean, I blame him. That was my takeaway, too. It's like, what did he expect? What's in this for you, man? Well, yes, of course. But I'm like, why are you doing this? And to be fair, Joe Banner made a great point on Twitter. Like, all the comedians were told ahead of time, hands off Robert Kraft. Do not make fun of Robert Kraft, but there was no such deal for the family. Like, where are Tom Brady's priorities? Look, I can laugh at myself.
Starting point is 00:31:16 I don't want to be roasted. But if I was being roasted, I would say, pick on me. Yeah. Leave my family out of it. Like, don't. Pick on me. Pick on Robert Kraft. No, I would say, like, you can have a field day on me.
Starting point is 00:31:30 I can take it. Don't talk about my wife or my children, right? And so like that, yeah, I'm kind of with Tom there. But I'm not with Tom. He didn't do that. He's only doing it after the fact. He walked in, knowing what was going on. Sure.
Starting point is 00:31:44 All right. So we both have them going three and one, hitting into the buy. Is this about midway through like the case you were making yesterday of start of training camp to week five? Yeah, this is 10 weeks in, okay? And so the whole season is 28 weeks. So you would want it to be four weeks later, but this is fine. Okay. Week six. Marissa Dunn, Michael Dunn, coming to town. Madison. done. I feel like you got no chance in that game. Oh, I disagree. I mean, I actually think I like the Browns a lot, but the Eagles have extended rest coming into this game. They're going to struggle against that interior Cowboys offensive line. Oh, I'm sorry, Brown's offensive line because of Michael Dunn. And Kevin Stefansky, with that. That's what I'm saying. The Eagles have no chance
Starting point is 00:32:35 in this. Well, no, with that Penn education is going to have a terrific game plan. You know that. Jim Schwartz, he always doesn't. No one, no one dumb has ever gone to Penn. Jim Schwartz has always had his defense ready to play. This is going to be a low-scoring game going into the fourth quarter, going into overtime. Okay? The Browns win the toss. Get the ball. The Sean Watson throws a pick six.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Cooper de Gene returns it for a score. Eagles win. Where is he playing? Slot corner. He steps in front of Elijah Moore. actually a bad pass from Deshawn. Yeah, I've got DeShan Watson bench by now. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:33:19 Yeah, I mean. Okay. It's bad quarterback. Yeah. Got better quarterbacks. So, yeah, so that's what I have. And Deshawn Watson goes into that tunnel. And Eagles fans have some choice words for Deshawn.
Starting point is 00:33:30 I have Michael Dunn catching the game-winning touchdown pass on a fake field goal. And Jalen Carter, all I can talk about after the game is how good that guy on the other team was. So let me ask you this. Brown's coming and win. Dorian Thompson-Robinson leads them to victory. And it's hypothetical. After the game, I get on the elevator, okay? And there was a few times last year I get on the elevator,
Starting point is 00:33:53 and, you know, Kevin Burkhard and Greg Olson are on the elevator. So this time, it's a shame that Greg Olson's not with the top team anymore, but I get on and Kevin and Tom Brady are there. What do I say to Tom and the elevator? Tom, what do you think of 68 on the Browns? Should I pull that one out? Is there like a different thing I should say? What do I say to Tom Brady in that situation?
Starting point is 00:34:13 say, hey, Tom. Michael Dunn says hello. Okay, what's Tom said? Then you punch him in the face. Oh, no. I'll punch Tom Brady in the face. Are you kidding me? I wouldn't do that. Well, yeah, obviously.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Yeah. Why would they be calling this game? This is a big game. It's a one o'clock game. You think they're calling this game? Oh, true. Yeah, they're not calling one o'clock game. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:36 So actually, Greg Olson. Maybe it is Greg Wilson. Greg Olson and Joe Davis. I'd say, Greg, what do you think of number 68 on the brows? Yes. Okay. Michael Dunn grew up a Patriots fan. Maybe he would want.
Starting point is 00:34:49 Michael Dunn's, or Tom Brady's first game he's broadcasting is a Michael Dunn game. Oh, love that. You know, that's the highlight of Tom Brady's season right there. Yeah, absolutely. All right. So three and two for me, four and one for you. We move on to week seven, October 20th. Welcoming in Daniel Jones, if he's still alive, Drew Locke, potentially.
Starting point is 00:35:11 October 20th, 1 o'clock game, home game against the New York Giants. Road game against the New York Giants. On the road to play the New York Giants. The story of this game is Sequan Barclay's returned. He's Rutherford. The reception he's going to get. The reception he's going to get. I know the Anthony Gargano show is doing a big, you know,
Starting point is 00:35:33 they're not supporting New York this week. I'll put it that way. F New York, is that what they're calling it this week? Sure. Yeah. Joy, is that right? Okay, yeah. Anyways, Sequin is not a popular figure right now, although the Giants didn't offer to keep him, so they should take it easy. But I think Seekwon has... The Giants have no leg to stand on in anything.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Yeah, I actually think... I think Sequan is a huge game here. It's best game yet with the Eagles. They feed him the ball. He sticks to the Giants. I'm actually excited to see the behind the scenes of the Seqwan thing on Hard Knocks, first offseason edition. But the only bright side... classy of them to do that. Yeah, I would say so. The only bright side of this whole game for the Giants is that Isaiah Simmons makes a big play. Yeah, that sounds about right. He's freelancing is the only thing he does over the course of 45 snaps. You mentioned the bright side, Zach. It's probably a good time to talk about our friends at Shady Ray's because the future is bright.
Starting point is 00:36:36 And now that we have the schedule, we can say that the Eagles have a chance to make this their best year yet just like happy birthday Claire F Clare F you grace us with your presence in the chat every single day we appreciate your support your interest in the show how loyal you are of a viewer the community that you've created here with the other loyal and avid viewers and I hope we hope here at P-H-L-Y that this is your best year yet. I don't have your cell. If I did, I would text you, make this your best year yet.
Starting point is 00:37:18 That's what you text everybody in your Rolodex. Well, I don't know everyone's birthday, but if I know, yeah, if their birthday pops up on, you know, Facebook or Google Calendar or something like that, and then, sure. I would say I respected Claire a little bit more than you because I already knew how her name was spelled. Ah, okay, the CL, yeah, okay, fair enough.
Starting point is 00:37:38 That's not fair enough. No, I have a friend, a good friend of mine who's married to a Claire, and she spells it C-L-A-R-E. So she doesn't have the I in there. Do you like an E-Clair? I don't mind it, but it's not my... It's not a chocolate chip. Oh, bye, we didn't talk about... I haven't talked about this yet.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Oh, how were those cookies last night? Oh, we had such a long cookie conversation last night that last night after dinner, I just, I had the hanker and whipped up some chocolate-chip cookies for the kids. How were that? Just quick-fired it. They were pretty good. You know, I didn't, you know, didn't have time to get. give it the old rest or I didn't even separate the ingredients. I'm just putting them all in there and one.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Oh, you don't do just that very well. The wet and the dry? I feel like the wet and the dry can be overrated sometimes. You can just get it all together. No, I mean the pre-made one where you just cut the... Oh, no, I'm making it from scratch. What do you think this is? Come on.
Starting point is 00:38:33 We'll have a little respect for the craft. Well, great job making that. I imagine your family loved it. Very good. There's nothing like a warm chocolate chip cookie. In the chat, in the YouTube comments yesterday, Colin the Kay said, Zach, it's D.D. Reese at UCLA for the cookie ice cream sandwiches. Thank you, Colin the K. And then received a nice message about a place in Baltimore that I should go from Patrick Carney. I don't have it in front of me, but...
Starting point is 00:39:02 Small hands. Smells like cabbage. Patrick Kearney? No, I... No, I think actually, you've met Patrick Carney. Yeah. He helps sponsor the show at times. Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Vicarios or is that Ficaro or Vicaro? Anthony would not like that I missed this up. Vicaro. Vicaro's Italian pastry shop. There you go. In Baltimore. Go there. All right.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Back to business. Happy birthday, Claire. Week 8. The big one. the Zach's 24-hour marathon wakes up a little partying for Nick's wedding flies to Cincinnati
Starting point is 00:39:48 how are the Eagles going to do against Joe Burrow and crew yeah not well I like this Bengals team a lot they are built well big Burrow fan obviously like their receivers they bolster their offensive line I think Cincinnati's can be a tough tough matchup in this game. Eagles, first time there in eight years.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Halloween's around the corner that week. No Philadelphia school child's going to be wearing orange and black unless they're wearing Mikov jersey. Flyers Mikov jersey because he's going to come over. He's going to come to the Philly this year, hopefully. But it could also be when the Phillies are playing the Orioles. So you definitely want to avoid the orange that week in the World Series, that is. But, yeah, Joe Burrell has a big game against Eagles.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Eagles veterans avoid the skyline chili so they can keep their wedding rings. Or I'm not their wedding rings. They're Super Bowl rings. I apologize. Slip there. I was looking at my wedding rings. It's okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:49 It's good. And you really worked hard to get all that orange and black in there. That was good. Yeah, trying to. Like that? Got the orange on. Oh, there you go. Is it yellow?
Starting point is 00:40:58 It's like a mustard. Yes. Yeah. I think that's. Yeah, I've got the Eagles losing this game. just a tough road game that's fine no big deal at a conference so i've got them four and three you've got them five and two but i will say given the uh the makeup of the like the coaching staff overhaul some of the changes that are being made hopefully the implementation of some rookies and the way that the
Starting point is 00:41:24 schedule plays out i do think that the schedule sort of sets up for some some fits and starts in the first half of the season and then they can sort of you know the ball gets rolling down hill second half of the season and they can, if everybody is healthy, sort of coalesce and take advantage of the second half of the schedule. Well, said, the inverse will happen this year. I think so. Yeah. I think that would be, that would obviously be better.
Starting point is 00:41:46 Enter the postseason. I think it's set up for them. Enter the postseason with momentum. Yes. Maybe the early season by is the one thing working against them. Okay, week nine, Dougie P. comes back at Sunday night football. Yeah, they open up the shot of Sunday night football close in on the statue of Doug Peterson outside Lincoln Financial Field, Colin, the Philly Special.
Starting point is 00:42:08 And then you go to Nick Siriani's crazy eyes looking deranged, and you get the coach versus coach matchup. How do you see this one playing out? Nick Siriani won and O against Doug Peterson all time. Yeah, so Jeannie Peterson, Doug's wife, says, if only this game was on a Thursday. If only. If only this game was on Thursday. Why don't you always coach like it's a Thursday?
Starting point is 00:42:31 Yes, exactly, because now Doug has the full week. and, you know, Doug is great on those Thursday night games, but with the full week, the Eagles are ready, they rebound from that Bengals loss, and A.J. Brown and Devante Smith have big games for the Eagles against those Jacksonville corners. And Doug, Doug's a little pissed-off mood when he's walking away. He passes Howie, and he says,
Starting point is 00:42:55 where were those receivers when I was here? Yeah, and I'm the one who liked Jalen Hertz. Yeah, but. You owe me. I had Travis Folgham and Greg Ward, and Jalen Rager. Fair point. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:07 But then I was like, you're the one who wanted Rager! And then he said, Paris Campbell's finally here. It's all celebrate. Yes. Yeah, that's good. I actually didn't have the Paris Campbell line
Starting point is 00:43:17 in this right-up. Well, you better shoot one that bad boy in. Yes. Get it in. What's your status check on Trevor Lawrence? Still believe in Trevor Lawrence. I like Trevor Lawrence, too. I was disappointed in the way
Starting point is 00:43:29 that he played the second half of last season, but I'm still a believer. Progression is not linear. That's what they tell me. me. If you're not progressing, you're regressing. That's true. Yeah. You're, your other, I don't want to get into these idioms here. But, yeah, standing still is falling behind, right? So you've got to keep moving. Better to be in progress than to be in Congress. Is that right? Pro versus con.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Okay. It's a good play on words. I thought I think being in Congress would be kind of fun. you have your finger on the button, right? You're in the arena. Yeah, you get to be one of the worst people in the world. That sounds like fun. As Tom Brady would say, you're in the arena. It's not Tom Brady to make up the man in the arena. I understand who that is, but it's Howard Rosenen say
Starting point is 00:44:19 howie Roseman has it in his office. You also didn't make it up. I understand, Roosevelt said it. But yeah, you want to be the man in the arena. You don't want to be one of those timid souls who knows neither victory nor defeat. I think the overwhelming majority of people in Congress are ghouls with little
Starting point is 00:44:40 redeeming quality. Tell me what you really think about. Just a majority. That's all. I'd rather be in progress. You mean the majority? Okay. All right. All right. Let's get it.
Starting point is 00:44:54 Okay. Emily says, how long is tonight show? We haven't even hit the halfway point in the schedule. All right. You got them six and two. I got them five and three. Week 10. A place where the Eagles have not had success. have not won a game since 2017, the trip to Arlington, a 425 game against the Cowboys.
Starting point is 00:45:13 Yeah, the Eagles haven't won in Arlington, like you said, since 2017. And I'd like the Cowboys this year. I know people are ripping on them because they had a quiet offseason. I like the talent that they have, and I think they have young players who are going to continue to get better. I think the Eagles split with the Cowboys this season, and I have the Cowboys winning at home. So do I.
Starting point is 00:45:32 It's just, you know, division games are tough. Yep. And I think the Eagles will get them when they play in week 17, but for this one I've got a loss. So I've got them five and four. You've got them six and three. Next up, Thursday night football, a home game against the Washington commanders. Josh Harris and all his sex appeal and libido is in the stadium to watch the game. And Joe L.M.B. does know who to root for.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Who do you got? So this is the Eagles' first time seeing Jaden Daniels. And Jain & Daniels might cause the Eagles headaches for the next decade, but not this game here. Because Jaden Daniels is blindside. You know who's protecting him? Cornelius Lucas, jinks, as Reed would say. So Josh Sweat has a big game in the closest Josh Sweat plays every year to his hometown,
Starting point is 00:46:23 Norfolk, Virginia. Well, this is a home game. No, oh, okay. So it's not, it's anyways. It's still honestly pretty close to it. home. Yeah, his family's coming up. His family's coming up watching them play. You're right. Yeah, home game. Do the commanders consider playing Sam Howell in this game because he has been so good against the Eagles? Well, he plays for Seattle now, so that can't happen.
Starting point is 00:46:42 Well, I guess that won't happen. Do they consider trading for him? They could play Marcus Mariotta. And Mario daugta is like, why didn't you play me last year, right? There you go. By the way, we did not get into the Jaguars game two days before the election. Hmm. I'm trying to figure out what are we getting into. I don't know. I'm just saying. Yeah. It's a weird atmosphere. You think people who are going to the game are like, this is so weird, the elections two days from now?
Starting point is 00:47:09 Do I think that will be a part of the atmosphere at the stadium? Yes. I mean, let's have an honest 30-second discussion here. Zach, you and I have left games in the Eagle Stadium where people are just chanting, let's go Brandon. You don't think that will be a part of what's in the ether of the stadium two days before the election? I haven't heard Remember we had this conversation You and McLean didn't know what it meant?
Starting point is 00:47:36 Yeah, yeah I actually still don't know what it meant I think you mentioned It's a very dumb thing Yeah I can't imagine that people I think people go to the game As an escape from that
Starting point is 00:47:49 Not as a As they contribute to that I think this is a little bit of naivety But I certainly hope that Lincoln Financial Field is a voting center this year Okay. You got him six and three.
Starting point is 00:48:01 You got him five and four. Let's move on to the trip to so far. No, I have him seven and three here. That's the 10th game. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'm six and four, seven, three. Okay. The trip to L.A., November 24th.
Starting point is 00:48:12 Yeah, there's no Aaron Donald to worry about this year, but I like the Rams. And the Rams only scored 14 points in the game last year. It was one of the two best games that Sean Desai coached for the Eagles last year. but I think the Rams offense will be better this season and I think this is an Eagles loss going across country Sunday night football game I have this as an Eagles win
Starting point is 00:48:38 I think the Rams are interesting I think they have a lot of upside but I also think they have some real combustion potential and so second half of the season I think the Eagles can fly across the country get a win here and during the national anthem Nick Siriani looks up and he's brought we both have them seven and four And he's brought the tears because he says,
Starting point is 00:48:58 I'm coaching in SoFi Stadium. I've reached the pinnacle. This is the dream. This is the pinnacle. Ever since he was a child. He didn't dream about Lambeau Field. He dreamt about playing in a place that was designed for a team that has no fans. Well, it's actually two teams play there.
Starting point is 00:49:15 Number one and number two, it's designed to be the... Let's get into the song track. I was on Anthony's show this morning. He asked me for my top three places to watch a game for Eagles fans. And I said Lambo number one. And you're all huffy about, you've been to Lambo once. You've been there a million times. There's no romance in football.
Starting point is 00:49:36 Give me the latest, greatest thing. Lambo is a great place. Everyone should go to Lambeau one time. You go there once. You don't need to go back. I mean, it's like that. Totally disagree. Yeah, you scratch that itch.
Starting point is 00:49:46 It's like seeing a painting. You know, you see a painting once. You don't have to see it again. You already know what it looks like, right? You know what? Give me SoFi, which is an architectural Marvel. No appreciation for art.
Starting point is 00:50:03 This is supposed to be an artist's job. It's an architectural marvel, Sofi Stadium, and you see it, and you're there, and it's designed, the way it's designed, and it's built into the ground. You walk in, you're at the higher level, and you walk down, and it has the translucent roof. So it feels like you're outside.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Feels like you're outside. You know what else feels like you're outside? What? When you're outside. Yes, but you know what? You don't have to deal with the elements, right? Oh yeah, those terrible, terrible elements of Los Angeles. God forbid.
Starting point is 00:50:42 And it's like you could probably lick the floor. It's so clean. Well, they have. I haven't, but it's so clean there. My goodness, I mean, it's, and it represents where stadiums are going. You want to, like, don't, do you want a typewriter or do you want a computer, right? This is not the same thing. It's the same concept.
Starting point is 00:51:07 You know, do you want a flip phone? You know, do you own a flip phone or do you own a smartphone? I don't own any phone. Do you use a seatbelt in your car or do you just try? That is not the same thing. You know that that's not the same thing. That's so disingenuous. The world progresses.
Starting point is 00:51:22 Okay? And what you can do... I'd rather Congress. Is you can be like one of those people, you know... I mean, think about what the world was 50 years ago. Do you want to live in that society? Like, no. I mean... Jack, this is a total nonsense.
Starting point is 00:51:35 Let's get into a tomorrow show. Because actually, tonight's a newsy show. Let's get into... We have a lot of... We have... We have... Drafts because those are windows. We have six...
Starting point is 00:51:47 We have six weeks or eight weeks of shows to get to. So let's... Yeah, we have enough time. for that conversation. All right. Seven and four, we both got them, seven and four,
Starting point is 00:51:56 heading into the final six games of the year in December. They bounce back from the trip across the country to play L.A. to then go down to Baltimore, December 1st, Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
Starting point is 00:52:07 You're going to go get that bakery. Get yourself a crab cake off the side of the road on 95, and what's going to happen? Yeah, they're going to lose this game. This is the best team they play all season. Love the Ravens team.
Starting point is 00:52:19 I'm really impressed with this organization, constantly adding talent, constantly making good decisions. I thought they should have won the Super Bowl last year. They did not manage that championship game well, but they're going to be a tough matchup this year. Eagles lose two in a row, and the next morning there's conversation about
Starting point is 00:52:36 what's Bill Belichick up to these days. I actually think the Ravens are due for a bit of a regression this season. I think the defensive change is going to be more difficult than people might think. I think there's reasons that the offense might regress as well, but given the trip to L.A. that precedes it, I think you feel good about coming out of these two games one-in-one, so I've got them losing as well, 7-5 for both of us.
Starting point is 00:53:01 Week 14. You want to get to some of these ads before we go? Oh, yeah, let's get to some of these ads before we close out the final five games of the season. And you know what? You know what? Maybe I need an older computer because this one is dragging just a little bit, but our friends at Butcher Boxer what we're going to talk about. You know what?

Starting point is 00:56:18 would you say that Emily thinks that the best house is necessarily the newest house? You know, I focus more on the home than the house, right? The home is what you make it. So, yeah, obviously there's different drawbacks. Some people like older homes that are kind of built really well 100 years ago. Good bones, good foundation.
Starting point is 00:56:40 Yeah, some people like new construction. That's why Baskin-Robbins has 31 flavors. So, yeah. Okay. I would say that any house that you're interested in, you can make it a great house, especially if you have a great real estate agent. Mortgage broker and real estate agent like Emily. There you go.
Starting point is 00:56:57 Yeah. A very difficult question posed to the women of Philadelphia on the night of December 7th, because it's going to factor into the weather here. You know, this is going to be a weather game. Early December, what's it going to be like? How cold is it? How scantily clad can the women of Philadelphia? if they are staying near the Carolina Panthers team hotel in the night before the day
Starting point is 00:57:19 the Dave Canales coaches against the Philadelphia. I did not know you were going there. Honestly, that's on you. Okay. Yeah, little known fact. Did you know Bryce Young was born in the Philadelphia area? Okay. And, yeah, look, the Panthers are not ready to win yet.
Starting point is 00:57:39 I'm excited to see Mike K. I'm excited to see Mike come up that weekend. We'll catch up with Mike over a meal at the link. Is it Mike K or K Mike? It is Mike. This is a get-right game for the Eagles, and they start this late-season rally that we discussed. Yeah, I agree.
Starting point is 00:57:52 I think the Panthers are... I think they've done some okay things this off-season, but yeah, I'm not expecting them to come in and win this game. Certainly not with all the distractions. Eight and five is what we both have them with through the first 13 games. Following that, week 15, a 425 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. I feel like a game where people outside,
Starting point is 00:58:14 of Pennsylvania always think this is like a big rivalry game and it's like, these two teams really don't really don't really care about each other. Exactly, yes. Not since they were the Stiegel's, right? Who starts a quarterback? Justin Fields or Russell Wilson? Justin Fields. Justin Fields.
Starting point is 00:58:27 This late in the season, yeah. And Kenny Pickett's watching and thinking what? I should have gone to the bathroom before the game started. That's an interesting thing to think. I'm sure he could escape. Sure they have like something on the sideline. Actually, A.J. Brown goes into the medical tent and that's where he goes to the bathroom. I mean, he shouldn't have had two chicken vodka wraps before the game started.
Starting point is 00:58:50 There you go. Yeah, the Steelers have a decent roster. I don't like their secondary, and I think they struggle against the Eagles. And A.J. Brown and Devante Smith, a big game here. And Jay Brown famously dominated them in that matchup from two seasons ago. Yep. Yeah, I think that will happen again. We both got them nine and five, Zach.
Starting point is 00:59:09 Now we go week 16. This is the trip you were talking about before to Landover. as close as Josh Sweat gets to play to his hometown, and really the worst place in football. Yeah. So we both have Eagles 9 and 5. If they win this game, Nick Siriani would become the first Eagles coach to have three consecutive double-digit win seasons since Andy Reid did it 20 years ago.
Starting point is 00:59:35 Yeah, so it goes to show you. Nick deserves some credit if he gets to 10 wins here, and that's what he does. Yeah, he could get to 10 wins and still get fired. True. But the Eagles sweep Washington. They advance to 10 and 5. Things are looking good for Philly going into Christmas week. We've both got them 10 and 5.
Starting point is 00:59:54 And then the game post-Christmas is a home game against the Dallas Cowboys, December 29th, 425. Could this be for the division, Zach? I actually say, winner of this game takes the NFC East. The Eagles lost the first meeting. They win this game here. I think that we'll see how this matchup progresses. I can see these teams splitting. And look, you know New Year's Eve is a special holiday in my eyes.
Starting point is 01:00:20 You got... So make this the best year yet. Hey, wake up. You got... Let's make this the best year yet. You got Thanksgiving. You got July 4th. You got Memorial Day.
Starting point is 01:00:32 You got... There's so many great holidays. New Year's Eve, though, is a wonderful... It's a day of celebration. And Eagles fans can celebrate the start of 2025 with legitimate hopes that the season stretches in the February. give me a blank slate peck nest migrate of all the holidays. Which holiday would you nest, and you wish you could have that every day?
Starting point is 01:00:52 Which holiday would you peck? You wish you could have it once a year, and which holiday would you like to migrate and never have again? Good question. Okay. Well, so my, the holiday that I would, my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. But what I love about Thanksgiving is how special it is. If you had Thanksgiving every day, it wouldn't be as special. So it would be tough.
Starting point is 01:01:14 I'm pecking Thanksgiving. I think that's a good answer. Yeah. I'm probably nesting July 4th then. Mr. Patriot over here. Well, yeah, and it's, look, it's the summer. People are happy on July 4th, typically. It's like that you're, yeah, there's reason to celebrate.
Starting point is 01:01:30 It's not like a day of morning or anything like that, typically. And the weather is usually nice in July. Okay. It can get humid, but, you know, you're... The world is trending that direction anyway. That's okay. You're growing. so it's it's like a nice
Starting point is 01:01:45 it's a nice day and migrating I'm migrating holidays that like punish you there's something like religious holidays Yeah there's some like religious holidays that's just they're punishing you And I'm like come on like Why?
Starting point is 01:01:59 Let my people go But no I would I would probably honestly If I'm migrating one I'm gonna get in trouble because she's watching right now I knew you were going to say Valentine's Day I knew you were going to say Valentine's Day I knew you were going to say
Starting point is 01:02:12 Valentine's Day. I'm migrating Valentine's Day because what what am I like come on. I mean I'm so like He's already taking you to that wedding in Los Angeles There's so much pressure on Val it's like it's another
Starting point is 01:02:28 gift it's another car it's another night to play There could not be too many gifts to reward your wife for being as wonderful as she is actually. She's the most amazing wife she's the most amazing person I've ever met but I can celebrate her every day. I don't need a same Valentine's Day to do it. I mean, and it's...
Starting point is 01:02:46 You got Mother's Day, you got your birthday. It's like New Year's. What else is there? There's like three days. Anniversary. Okay. Yeah. It's February 14th.
Starting point is 01:02:56 February is such a... It's a dreary month as it is. We just got back from the Super Bowl. Like, I'm tired. You know, we had that week where I'm we slept for a few hours. And now I've got to figure out what I'm going from Valentine's Day.
Starting point is 01:03:10 Oh, man. I can't believe you went exactly where I thought you were going to guess. I should have known. All right. Let's knock out this last game. I actually have the Cowboys. I actually have the Eagles losing this game. So I've got them 10 and 6.
Starting point is 01:03:26 You've got them 11 and 5. Last game. Home against the New York Giants. Yeah, three years in a row, ending this season against the Giants. The Eagles, maybe they rest their starters for this game. Maybe they need to play for the seed. what I'm taking a mess of Elvis now come on
Starting point is 01:03:41 David says you're upstaging Harrison Butker All right come on Dave That's that look I'm not making any I'm actually speaking about men here Not like I'm saying I don't I feel like I can't rise to the occasion of Valentine's Day It's nothing I think women should be celebrated by all means
Starting point is 01:03:58 But I mean I'm like I don't know It's 904 Can we just wrap this up The Eagles win this game This Giants to 12 and 5 I'm really going to need to improve this anniversary press. I mean, the dog house when I get home.
Starting point is 01:04:19 Women should be so grateful that we let them get away with as much as we do. It's not at all what I'm saying. Not saying that. Yeah, Harrison Bucker can go to... Are you a Valentine's Day guy? I like a Valentine's Day, yeah. You are a romantic. It's a cook-and-ice meal, yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:36 Oh, I don't mind that, yeah. Okay. I'm just saying... Yeah, ma' I would say that I'm probably... more of her romantic than you? I would actually disagree. I think I have a lot of romantic calls. You just said you wouldn't want to get rid of Valentine's Day. That doesn't make me unromantic. I mean,
Starting point is 01:04:51 the romance should be genuine. It shouldn't be manufactured. Claire F. It's her birthday. She agrees. Why are you yelling on her just because she's a woman? Take that back. Yeah, I have the egos beat in the Giants. Week 18, so I have them finishing the season 11 and 6. Zach, you have them 12 and 5. Are they winning the division in that with that record?
Starting point is 01:05:18 Yes, the Eagles win the division here. 12 and 5, they don't get the top seed, so they have to play in the opening round of the postseason. Okay. Should we get into the playoffs or we'll save that for tomorrow? Oh, yeah, we have a whole show. We have a whole show. We'll say that for next week.
Starting point is 01:05:31 Who knows? We're going to, look, we have a show at noon tomorrow. It is 9-06 right now. So this is kind of like the draft. We turn around and we're right back at you. That's right. I think we're going to do a draft tomorrow of the games on the schedule that we feel the most confident about the result. I think that will be kind of fun.
Starting point is 01:05:49 And we're going to track that, and we're going to put $1,000 on it. No objection to that? Yeah, no, I'm sorry. I didn't tell. I knew that you weren't listening. I don't like the Harrison Bucker Association. So, come on. I mean, I don't like get involved in, like, other people's opinions.
Starting point is 01:06:07 You can think what you want. I disagree. I think Harrison Bucker can go to hell. can't think what he can think it, but he deserves to be called an asshole for it. Yeah, so I'm saying. He's an evil person. No, he's allowed to think what he wants. I can disagree with him is what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:06:22 So I resent any comparison there just because I, I said, I don't love Valentine's Day. I think there's, you're on the starting of the, you're on the, you're on the, no, no, the, the in-cell slope starts at there shouldn't be Valentine's Day, and then it sort of trickles down from there. You've got to be careful about the precipice. Definitely. You're walking toward. All right. I love Valentine's Day then. Here, how about this?
Starting point is 01:06:44 I'm going to nest I don't know. Maybe what you want is you want I feel like any... I feel like any... Yeah, there's not as much pressure on the day. I feel like any holiday that I migrate, I'm going to get...
Starting point is 01:06:55 I'm going to offend someone. But how about St. Patty's Day? Okay. Oh, wow. All Irish people. No, I'm not saying that. It's because here you go. This is my thing with St. Patty's Day.
Starting point is 01:07:04 I just want to watch the NCAA tournament and you got like these bars move St. Patrick's Day. Over. Yeah, let's move like a week earlier. Right? So it's not. falling during the NCAA tournament.
Starting point is 01:07:14 You know, you get the Aaron Express coming through when you're trying to watch the NCAA tournament. Yeah, right? Yeah. I don't know. I thought maybe you would nest your favorite. What's that? President's Day. Eventually, you're going to get a Super Bowl every day.
Starting point is 01:07:27 If it's the, but this is the thing. This is the thing. If it's the Super Bowl, if it's every day, you don't appreciate it. Right? That's, it's kind of like Thanksgiving. Yeah. Yes. President's Day, just like Thanksgiving.
Starting point is 01:07:41 All right. Everybody said, heard that. Okay, I'm in trouble. We're very grateful that Emily's watching. I think this has made this episode much better. All right, Zach. Let's run it down one more time at the end here. Just start to finish.
Starting point is 01:08:00 Packers in Brazil. Home against the Falcons. At the Saints. At the Bucks. Buy. Home against the Browns. At the Giants. At the Bengals.
Starting point is 01:08:11 home against the Jags on Sunday night football at the Cowboys home against the commanders on Thursday night football across the country to play the Rams coming back and then going to Baltimore then home against Carolina home against the Steelers at the commanders home against the Cowboys closing it out
Starting point is 01:08:31 with home against the Giants big picture a pretty favorable schedule for a team that has Super Bowl hopes playoff expectations nothing here that would make you think the Eagles, if they are as good as they think that they can be, shouldn't be able to take care of business. I agree. What's their over-under-this-year?
Starting point is 01:08:50 11-5, 10-and-half? Is it 11-and-half? I would have 10-5. So I have them at 12 wins, so I have them going over. All right. So, Zach, you can take his betting advice, and he will be on the hook. He will refund you any money lost. That is not true.
Starting point is 01:09:07 Is it 10. So bet parts doesn't have it, but Daniel has an act. Ten and a half on a competitor, and bet parks. We'll have it up soon, I would imagine. So there you go, ten and a half. I think the over seems too easy, which obviously is going to make me think under. Obviously. It's the nature of things.
Starting point is 01:09:29 Okay, that'll do it for this wonderful primetime episode of the P.H.O.Y. Eagles podcast. Back at noon tomorrow, Bo Wolf, Zach Berman, Julia leading the ship. Thanks to everybody for joining and watching live. Thank you to Chris for getting the graphics together and handling stuff as the show was going on. We will talk to you tomorrow. Thanks for watching, listening. And as always, happy birthday, Claire, and we love you.
