Starting point is 00:00:07 Hello, everybody, and welcome to the PHLY Eagles podcast. Hi, too, on a Tuesday afternoon roster cut down day. We are counting it down about an hour and 59 minutes until 4 o'clock. We'll hear from Howie Roseman and Nick Siriani thereafter. We got some moving and shaking, Zach Berman, including a scoop from you. Give us the news. Anaya Smith, Eagles fifth round pick, is going on injured reserve. There's an ankle injury that's going to keep him.
Starting point is 00:00:37 him sideline, my understanding, four to six weeks. Now, is this the kind of thing where, you know, Julia may be familiar with this, the perception that there are, you know, word of mouth, some doctors around the city you go to say, oh, you know, I got a bad back or, you know, I might have early onset glaucoma. Could you hook me up with a, you know, a little something? Is this that kind of deal for an ice? Look, thank you. The Eagles found the doctor who could find something in the ankle.
Starting point is 00:01:05 I know the perception is out there. And so we can discuss that here because it, look, it does seem convenient similar to the way Donnell Pumfrey had what a hamstring injury. Ah, yeah. Alex McAllister, I believe, one year, right? This is, I covered Victor Cruz, the Giants as a rookie, had a good camp, and there was like an injury that they were able. My understanding is that you can't just create an injury out of thin air. There's documentation, right? Yeah, that you send the league.
Starting point is 00:01:33 The league monitors these things. Exactly. Now, you did a great piece a few years ago on Jason Kelsey on like the, his body during the year. And one thing that stood out to me is I think he had a quote in there that everyone's injured, right? It's just there's a matter of degree. There's a matter of what you can play through. So, yeah, look, if Anaya Smith with the hit boys, A.J. Brown and same injury, my presumption is that he would not be on IR. but my understanding is this is not something that like they picked up out of thin air.
Starting point is 00:02:07 We talk about Phantom IR. That there is an injury here that they had an MRI. The MRI revealed the injury. It's going to take four to six weeks. He's eligible. They can designate him today. So this is going to be interesting because we don't know yet, right? We're going to find out just a little bit about what they think of Anaya Smith and how ready he might be because the rules this year are for the.
Starting point is 00:02:31 guys who you may want to bring back at cut down day, if you're trying to save some space, you do have to designate those ahead of time as designated to return. They count against the eight that you get allotted for the season. This is different than in the regular season. When you put a guy on injured reserve,
Starting point is 00:02:47 you don't have to designate that ahead of time. It doesn't count against the eight until they begin their practice window. So every team gets two of these. Yes. The first time this is happening. If they use one on an Ice Smith, then maybe it does mean that they expect him to be part of of some kind of rotation at some point down this season.
Starting point is 00:03:05 My guess, I mean, I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if he just goes right on IR. But I feel like the reporting that you have that there is this expected time frame, maybe they are going to use the designation. So I think the designation to return spots, you're more apt to use them now, to use the two now because there's ways of getting around an injury during the season. Sure, you just carry a guy. Yeah. Yeah, you can carry a guy and you can elevate him.
Starting point is 00:03:32 B, like you don't have to designate him to return like you mentioned until he's actually ready to return to practice during the season. So if there's a fringe player who gets hurt during the season, you can place him on IR. And then you can determine. And if you need him. Exactly. So the facts. So when you talk about Anaya Smith or Trevor Keegan or, I mean, you and I can disagree on this, Caden Stearns, I think you're more apt to use that designation today than. any other time because it preserves the possibility they can't come back.
Starting point is 00:04:04 All right. Interesting. Now is your understanding that Anaya Smith would have been on this roster, if not for this injury? I can't say that. We had our mock conversations yesterday where I outlined my... I'm sorry, what? Sorry.
Starting point is 00:04:17 We had Nick in studio. We had Nick in studio. And I wrote this in my 53, and I get it. I've already missed some. But I thought that Anaya Smith would... I thought the acquisition of Jahan Dotson would give him a little more flexibility there at depth-wide receiver that they would carry him. And because they don't need him right away, they can keep him inactive early on, but not necessarily to expose him the waivers. It's the question that Nick posed to Vic Fangio yesterday about in or maybe it was Kellyn Moore.
Starting point is 00:04:54 I forget which one. Who is to say? about when a draft pick is cut, do teams go based on their college scouting reports? Because these teams haven't always seen much of Ania Smith, right? So they see Bo's great practice observations about how Smith's doing, assuming they're subscribers to PHOI, diehard members. And they see the tweets and whatnot. But they don't have all the information.
Starting point is 00:05:20 So they're probably going based off college film. So there's a team that liked him, they had a fifth round grade on him. they might be more apt to claim him now. I thought that a week ago they were not going to keep him. This week they were going to keep him, but IR certainly creates a safe landing spot for him. It's convenient. It's convenient, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:38 And by the way, the show today presented by our friends at Bet365, download the Bet365 app and use code P-H-L-Y-365 when you sign up and find out why it is never ordinary at Bet-365. Okay, Zach, first of all, nice job on the scoop. I know it's just another day in the office. No, no obstacles. Yeah, I'm just trying to serve our audience.
Starting point is 00:06:03 That's all. Okay. So we don't have a ton yet. We do know that Andre Sam, who we talked about at the show yesterday, for whatever reason, Siriani really pushing that one yesterday. That did not come to fruition. And E.J. Jenkins, which is the first dent on my personal 53, did not make the team reportedly waived.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Not a huge surprise that they're going with two tight ends. I would imagine this is an area where they're going to try to look to add from elsewhere. Yeah, so the Andre Sam news reported by Andrew DeCeco. DeCeco's been all over this. Yeah. Yeah, a very good job by Andrew. And then I saw Mike Garifolo had the E.J. Jenkins news. We'll start with E.J. Jenkins.
Starting point is 00:06:47 I think this is notable for the reason you just said, because I imagine barring a trade of cut down similar to last year, they acquired Albert O right before the wire. Barring a trade. If Albert O makes the 53, I'm not doing the show to be. He's not. He's getting waived. But barring that, you're going to see two tight ends on the 53.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Now, not two tight ends active for the game. I imagine they'll have three active for the game. Jack Stoll has been cut. We'll see some other guys who are a who are cut. they could. If they bring back stole, I'm not doing the show on Thursday. They could. On the active roster.
Starting point is 00:07:29 If they bring them back to the practice squad, that's fine. I know J. trusts him. They could just elevate E.J. Jenkins. I'm assuming E.J. Jenkins is not going to get claimed. That's why I did not have him on my 53 for that reason. I didn't think he was going to get claimed. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Yeah. And by the way, people saying this is like a knock against the bow wolf Cam Crush. The Bo Wolf Cam Crush is not about guys making the 53 men roster. Guess who else didn't make the 53 men roster? DeAndre Carter, Coyote, Iwasheka, Elijah Riley. These guys who went, it's about identifying the talent. So just because the former Cam Crush, Lou Nichols, gets waived, doesn't mean that he's
Starting point is 00:08:11 not going to go on to success in the NFL elsewhere. Same for E.J. Jenkins. This is a long arc that we're talking about, not just making the 53. Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah, I think that was important. Just people don't understand. Like, you know, oh, Coyote, I didn't make the roster. Guess what?
Starting point is 00:08:28 You guys starting playoff games. Would you say the buzz is palpable about the Camp Crush? No, I wouldn't. This is, it's not quite the Ben Van Sumer and Malachi Corley hype train. Did I use it for Corley? No, that was, I believe, Greg CoSell. Oh, okay. Do you have any other surprise or worthwhile Eagles wave news so far?
Starting point is 00:08:51 Anything that, you know, made you blink. Julian O'Quara? Yeah, so they cut the vested veterans yesterday, which if you're reading between the lines, maybe that's a good sign for Nick Gates or even a Brett Tov. The four guys. Warren, Berks as well.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Warren Berks, yeah. Now, it might just be those decisions were already made. So it's something worth monitoring. When I say the guys who were cut, Joyne O'Quarr, Max Sharping, Will Greer, and then the one. Whoa, whoa, whoa. So, oh, and then Parry,
Starting point is 00:09:21 Dickerson. Great call by you that they signed to. One of the great, one of the great calls of all time. One of the great calls of all time. Yeah, nothing has surprised me to date. The Andre Sam thing, again, that was a little bit of a swing on my end. I thought that undrafted rookie, they had this history of keeping undrafted rookies. Like we said, of the undrafted rookies, he had the best chance of making the team. I thought that. I think Gabe Hall is still a possibility. Interesting. Okay. I think it's possible that he stays over Tui. well we'll get to that because i have some ideas there uh so all right and then the other thing is all the snaps that they're rudy ford has been waived that's too bad released that's what you interrupted me for rudy for rudy i'll take that you're right yeah he's okay rudy ford one of the part of the joey did we're breaking news part of the best trade in howie roseman's history is there breaking news music and jordan matthews according to adam shafter uh jordan matthews i i kept saying on social and making catches. Still hanging around.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Yeah, so I also thought all the snaps Andre Sam played, particularly on special teams, might have been suggestive of a potential role for the team. Clearly, that was not the case. I was deciding between him and Tristan McColle. And I went with Sam because I thought Sam was a better special teams player than McColl. But look, I certainly wasn't pounding the table on that one. I mean, it felt like you were. Well, Nick was.
Starting point is 00:10:51 I actually didn't. I don't think Nick pounded the table yesterday's thing about Andre Sam. I just think he was presenting reasons why Andre Sam could be intriguing. He was talking about how he saw some guy named Zach Berman's 53. That was the...
Starting point is 00:11:01 Oh, that's what it was. Yes. Super chat from Brandon, who says, Zach, would you try to a fifth rounder for A.J. Dylan from the Green Bay Packers protects against injury and helps relieve short yardage bruising on Jalen and Seekwon.
Starting point is 00:11:14 No, I would not. And I did like, I liked A.J. Dylan coming out. And I liked A.J. Dylan when we did our free agency exercise during the summer. Oh, I'm sorry, during the spring. If they were, if they were going to add AJ Dillon, the time to have done that would have been March. I would not give up a fifth round pick for AJ Dillon. A matter of fact, I would think that you're going to get a fifth round running back comparable to a, like the fifth round pick, the expected value of is probably comfortable to David's price if that's the case. Sure. If that's the thing that you want. But I do like an
Starting point is 00:11:46 AJ Dillon. Yeah, I think he's fine. I also think, uh, You say in there, Brandon, and I appreciate you watching and the super chat here. Health relief short yarders bruising on Joe. Well, you know when he gives you that little butter up front. He's about to smack it across the face, Brandon. Watch out. I don't think they want any relief for Sequin. I think the goal with Sequin is to run him, run him, run.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Like, give him a little bit this year. Given the ball. I think two years of Seekwon. And I don't think they're worried about what the tread on the tires looks like after two years. of Sequin. Well, yeah, not after two years, but maybe in the middle of this season. Sure. But I think he's here to be.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Yeah. Yeah, I don't think it's about protecting him. I think it's more about if he goes down and misses time because you're using him so much, then do you have somebody else who can do that stuff between the tackles? True. Now, I do like Davis Price as Howie pointed out yesterday. Yeah. And I mean, Bo Wolf.
Starting point is 00:12:46 I had him on my 53 as a bit of a bit of an outlier. So we'll see how that goes. Was that predictive or was that game theory because you're trying to win this, right? You don't want the same 53 as everybody else. I think you're the only one I've seen who had Davis Price on the 53. So was that because you thought it or because, you know, it's like if you're doing an NCAA tournament bracket, you don't want the same final four as everybody else?
Starting point is 00:13:13 No, I'm only doing what I think they're going to do. Okay. Yeah. I mean, there's game theory to that. Sure. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:21 We'll see. If you're right, I don't think we'll ever hear the end of that one. I think Davis Price will be like, you know, there's going to be, we have this great show with Fran tonight coming up. We're going to have an emergency show at breakdown. I think if Davis Price is on the first like 12 minutes, what will be some type of bit. I mean, that's a long stretch for a bit. That is a long stretch for a bit. We literally did an entire show and character yesterday.
Starting point is 00:13:46 If the crown is back where it belongs, I'm sure. sure they'm sure they will be something. I do want to tell the audience, we're going to have some great, like, substantive informative shows with a Fran coming up. Not every Fran's show is going to be part of a... We've got some fun stuff. Now, we do have Sheel scheduled for tomorrow again. I think it would be funny if we just continue to say that we have Sheel scheduled and he never comes in. I think that would actually be a good bit. And then on Thursday, we're going to do the annual Springer wins and fly draft the next time that Fran is in. We will go through the overrunters of NFL teams around the league
Starting point is 00:14:19 make our over-under bets. So fun stuff coming up. Today is the last day when we're really going to spend all of our energy talking about the bottom of the roster. After today and after tonight's emergency show, we're going to set our sights on the stars
Starting point is 00:14:35 of this team, right? Let the record state that the thumbnail on today's show is Thomas Booker, not John Carter. Julia, can you enter that into the record? Okay. Thank you very much. All right. The record has such been reflected.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Thank you, Zach. All right. Before we get going, and I want to talk about Jahan Dotson and the trade and seeing some of the wide receivers who have already been waived or released around the league, whether you would still do that, whether it makes you feel different about the price there. But before we do that, Zach, let's spend a little bit more time unpacking our friends and what you can get at Bet365 because Bet365 has, how many, many million users worldwide do you think they have, Zach? Like if you, if you're, like if you, if you're, you know, if you're, you think about allergies and thinking about allergy season, you're probably not thinking about the fall. You're usually thinking about the spring, I would imagine, right? I'm thinking ragweed. Well, it's important to know that there are fall allergies that are a big part of your life. They can begin as early as August and last into November. And the main culprits are, as you just said, ragweed and mold.
Starting point is 00:17:12 There's other allergens that include plants such as sagebrush, timber, I'm sorry, tumbleweed, and pigweed. I'm not really up on my weeds. Dust mites and pet dander. Do you want to jump in? And pet dander and fur. Allergic reactions occur when your body misidentifies the substance, such as pollen, as harmful to the body. And then your immune system releases histamines to fight off the allergens. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:41 Interestingly enough, these same histamines are also the cause of your allergy symptoms, such as running nose, itchy eyes or even wheat. That's why antihistamines, medication that suppresses the amount of histamine in your body, are often the first line of defense to treating your allergy symptoms. So why am I telling you this? Well, because if you sign up for Rite Aid rewards emails at RiteAid.com slash rewards, you can receive email pollen alerts for your area. You can use a dehumidifier, which you can get at Rite Aid, and the dust bites and mold thrive in human environment.
Starting point is 00:18:16 So a dehumidifier helps take the moisture out of the air. so that these allergens can't grow. Shower frequently, that's important, and I often do that. If you wash the pollen and mold spores from your skin and hair, they are less likely to affect you. It's best to shower at night after you've been out all day. You should check your pollen counts. You should keep windows closed and use an air conditioner.
Starting point is 00:18:38 And wear a protective mask when gardening. That's important because allergens like to hang out in leaves and moist soil. You should wear a protective mask when you tend to your yard or your garden, wearing long slaves and gardening gloves can protect you from the elements as well. But also, okay, in addition to those ways of doing it, there's over-the-counter options. And these over-the-counter options are available at your local right aid. Try a nasal rinse to help flush out your nasal passages. When symptoms are flaring up or when you know that the pollen counts are high, you can try antihistamines.
Starting point is 00:19:08 One to two weeks before the pollen allergies are expected to be high, you can try different, you know, nasal steroid type things. They're available at right age. Just go to right aid. They're going to like a true expert. They're going to help you, okay? Still not enough relief. Ask a right-aid pharmacist.
Starting point is 00:19:31 This is what I would do, okay? Because I would go through the aisle and I would say, what are the, no steroids? Yes. And the right-aid pharmacist, will tell me the different type of allergy medications like a decongestion might be necessary. You can always ask your right aid pharmacist for recommendations on ways to get relief during allergy season. Ernest Jones traded to the Titans Act. While I was reading the right aid ad?
Starting point is 00:19:59 Yeah. You see, in such a short time of you reading that right aid ad, who could imagine news could happen in just a blink of an eye. Was that really long, the right aid ad? I thought it was interesting. I always associated allergies with the spring, but they fall allergies and going to write aid for the relief. I thought that ad was appropriately, given the substance, gone with the wind.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Wow. Okay. I need to do better then. Ernest Jones to the Titans. What your thoughts? Sounds like Rams linebacker, Ernest Jones, is going to the Tennessee Titans Act. Yes, exactly. Yeah, I remember I talked about him as a possible trade.
Starting point is 00:20:41 Yes. just telling you. I didn't need to give it 85 minutes. A good blitzing linebacker. Yeah, a good player. I'm surprised that the Rams are given up on him. Now he's finally here of his deal. That's why we talked about them. It's a potential trade candidate in the offseason. Yeah, Denard Wilson putting together a linebacking court there in Tennessee. I mean, you can't play football without a linebacking court. That's for sure. He's got, he's already got Kenneth Murray. Now he gets Ernest Jones. I mean, I don't know if it's a good one, but he's putting one together.
Starting point is 00:21:11 he is putting one together although the Titans released Caleb Farley today did you see that from the first dropout yeah coming out of VATEC what's wrong on that one that's okay all right let's talk wide receiver so I want to know if your opinion of the Jahan Dotson trade
Starting point is 00:21:28 changes a little bit seeing what some of the transactions have been around the league now specifically we're talking about Noah Brown being released by the Houston Texans being waived by the Carolina Panthers. Tim Patrick, you know, getting waived yesterday.
Starting point is 00:21:46 Cadarius Tony is on the wire now. Do you think that the Eagles would have been better served trading a seventh round pick for Noah Brown than they were trading the equivalent of a late third, early fourth round pick for Jahan Dotson. Yes, I do. And I'd like Dotson. And so in a vacuum,
Starting point is 00:22:05 I'd prefer Dotson to any of the players that were cut today. When you factor in price and roll, you're looking at the fifth option in the passing game at the point in anthony brought this up on the on the emergency show and i thought it was a good point that you're also looking at the replacement for devante or a j if one of them goes down i think dotson is better than those guys who are cut today but i would rather seventh for noah brown i think noa brown is your third receiver is an upgrade um over what they had before i like terrace marshal uh he hasn't done much in the nfl granted carolina has been a weird situation since he got there. I get that, the three different coordinators. He was drafted in part because Joe Brady, he had such success with Joe Brady. Joe Brady brings him in, and he barely has, you know,
Starting point is 00:22:55 any time with Joe Brady. But, yeah, and then Tim Patrick's been like, you know, a competent, big slot in the league. It's been a while. It's been a while. Of those guys, Noel Brown's the one who appeals to me the most. Now, Noah Brown, if he's starting opposite, Devante Smith,
Starting point is 00:23:11 of AJ were to go down. You don't love that, but I would rather preserve that extra third round pick and give up one of your sevenths for Noah Brown if that's what it would have cost. Yeah, I think it tells us that the Jahan Dotson trade was not just about filling the wide receiver three hole, right? Just sort of checking that box. I think it's more about chasing ceiling than, you know, securing a floor for the offense for some of the reasons that you talked about. If, you know, A.J. Brown and Devante Smith misses time, you want a guy who plausibly can play on the outside. And, I mean, I think the offense is better, certainly. Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:52 On paper with Johan Dots and the Noah Brown. I don't know that it makes a functional difference. And, like, it's a pretty significant change in the value. And the fact that Washington is giving up on him in the first place, you got to sort of talk yourself into, as we said, the idea that you get him here. And it's going to be a better situation for him and, you know, opposing. defenses will not treat him like the top option. I still am okay with it. I think it changes my perception of the value of it a little bit.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Okay. If they could have been a little bit more patient. But I still think you're talking about a guy who is young and has room to grow and has, you know, two years left of team control. If you're just talking about the, you know, the delta of the value, you know, if John Dotson is a leader. average third wide receiver he's probably on the open market making you know seven million dollars or something like that and you're paying him less than less than a million that's that's
Starting point is 00:24:50 nice value um i don't know i still think i still think i respect the move although it is a little bit on my radar that uh so much of the moves the eagles have made this off season has been uh chasing first round picks like i mean they let's they've got added six guys who are first round picks this year like what's the what's the pro scouting staff up to like go find me some guys that nobody knows about i don't object to that obviously this is a strategy i've long endorsed and so i i certainly can't fault howie for doing something that i would have done um and again i like the player in in dots and now contract comes into play here if if you acquired no brown uh he you would have taken on a two million dollar guaranteed salary okay yeah so he he's on a
Starting point is 00:25:36 a one-year deal he's 28 years old so dots and you're telling more experience True. Good blocker. That's not why you acquire someone. Sure. But, yeah, I mean, John Dotson, you get him at a decent price for two years under contract. In theory, and probably in practice as well, an ascending player. Yeah, to me, the Dotson thing, it really just comes down to the player evaluation. Sure.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Right? Like, if he is who they think it is, it's going to look like a good trade. And it will look like they didn't give up too much. If he is not that good. or whatever it is that's going on with the Washington coaching staff that carries over. And he's like Cadarius Tony, who has a good rookie year, a promising rookie year, and then just sort of falls off. Then it is going to look like a bad deal. And I know we should evaluate these trades with the information we have at the time.
Starting point is 00:26:27 But I think this one sort of comes down to like how good is the actual player. Yeah. Yeah. So, you know, I saw a clip circulate on social media. it was Peter Schrager who's close with Cliff Kingsbury talking about Cliff Kingsbury's rationale for trading for Marquis Brown. This was back in the 2022 draft, right? And basically he was saying that Kingsbury loved like the top receivers in that draft.
Starting point is 00:26:58 He didn't really like, you know, he thought they had no chance at Chris Alave and Jameson Williams and, you know, maybe Garrett Wilson, I forget specifically, but that they weren't as like in love with Jehan Dodson, Traylon Burks. And so that was why they went and they traded for Hollywood Brown that year. But yeah, I mean, I imagine this is a Cliff Kingsbury, Adam Peters evaluation here. The other thing too, and I saw this also from Peter Schrager, who does a great job. Don't roll out the commanders for. Brandon Ayuk, who Adam Peters was in San Fran when they drafted him, was the wide receiver
Starting point is 00:27:41 for Jaden Daniels at Arizona State. Yeah, I would feel a lot better about the Dotson trade if they're trading for IUC because then it explains why they're getting rid of him. Exactly. And because they get a third round pick. That's so that that's also something to monitor here. I like Dodson coming out of Penn State. So I'm intrigued by it.
Starting point is 00:28:01 I just think we'll see what happens in April. I like the fact that the Eagles had three picks on day two. Now, they still could, but I like the trade trip, the trade ship possibility. I thought that was important that they came out with that extra pick next year. But Dotson, again, a young wide receiver and ascending player, no issue. Okay. Who else to run the league is curious to you at this stage, Zach? And I guess what are the positions especially that you think the Eagles will be looking at?
Starting point is 00:28:31 Yeah, so I spoke about. nose tackle and Marlon T and how I wasn't as... Oh, this was your T's. We're following up on the T's. All right. Are we going, hold on, hold on, hold on. All right, is this a down on Marlon T? Am I down on Marlon T?
Starting point is 00:28:47 Relatively speaking, on the roster? Well, I had them on my 53. But what you're about to say, is it? Yes. Okay, well, in that case, Zach, let's do our little Ace temperature check, Ace Hardware, temperature check. Unfortunately, it's,
Starting point is 00:29:04 a little bit cool on the Marlin T front, Zach. Let's take a look at which Eagle is heating up or cooling off with our Ace Hardware Temperature Check. Visit Ace Hardware Home Services online at www.com to get started on your next project. The floor is yours. Real quick on the temperature check thing, I do want to make this note here. It's hot outside today. 64 schools in Philadelphia are being dismissed early today because they don't have proper
Starting point is 00:29:31 air conditioning or cooling in their schools. and it brings to mind that J.O. and Hertz donated $200,000 back in April to air-conditioned 10 schools. And I think that's, when I saw that on the news yesterday about those 64 schools, that came to mind. And as we said in April, like we discussed a lot about Jalen Hertz on the show, good and bad. I thought that was a real cool thing that he did, no pun intended, because it was very intentional. And you literally see, you know, I've had a lot of interaction with, like, students in the Philadelphia Public School District. and I remember a conversation one time about how hot it can get into the school. So I think that's, yeah, I just want to make that note.
Starting point is 00:30:11 I think that's cool. I think you should have intended the pun. Okay, yeah. So anyways, the literal temperature or the actual temperature check here, Marlon Toey-Pelotu, I had on the 53, basically because I felt they needed a backup nose tackle. And he's the best of the backup nose tackles. I'm not overwhelmed with Marlon Toey-Pelotu, this summer.
Starting point is 00:30:32 I'm not overwhelmed with Marlon Tu-I-Piloteau over the past three years here in Philly. If they can get an upgrade. Toot-Pilu-2, Philly. It's not watching. If they can, well... Yikes. I like Tuli-Pelot-2 if he's available. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Marlon's not watching. I actually enjoy my interactions with Marlon. I'm just keeping it real here, right? This isn't about who you're friends with, who you're... Yeah, you... Just Zach Berman is the one who's saying this, Marlon. Yes. I am saying this, Marlon. I mean, I think that...
Starting point is 00:31:02 if they can get Siaka, I'm sorry, Siaki Ika, third round pick. Really? Yeah. Out of Baylor two years ago, 23 years old. He was a transfer from LSU.
Starting point is 00:31:14 He's more of a natural nose tackle. He's got that draft pedigree. Here we go. I remember when the Browns drafted. Now, I did not, I admit, I did not watch his film last year.
Starting point is 00:31:25 I think Andrew Barry is a really smart GM. I think that... I think he's a very smart GM. Okay. I think the Browns, are building a good team. I'm very curious to see kind of what happens with their offensive line as they go forward here.
Starting point is 00:31:38 But when I look at it, I didn't quite understand the fit in Jim Schwartz's defense. With my background covering Jim Schwartz, I didn't really know. Yeah, I thought that Siaka Ika, more of a natural nose tackle, didn't really make sense in that defense. I think in this defense,
Starting point is 00:31:57 as a backup to Jordan Davis, would make a lot more sense. so I see John saying big draft pedigree guy he was a third round pick I mean it's not like we're talking about Caleb Farley here right but but I'm saying that I liked him during that draft process I did look at him because if it
Starting point is 00:32:14 it was a year when you know what we thought the Eagles could be looking at defensive tackles and I think that from an upside perspective from a body type perspective I say who's who's that that natural backup nose tackle for Jordan Davis.
Starting point is 00:32:32 I think Siaki Iko... I think it was also, remember, it was notable that Vic Van Joe was asked about this and did not mention Marlon too. Exactly. I think I was one who asked him
Starting point is 00:32:39 about it actually. Yeah. Well, I mean, I believe you. Because this has been on my radar for... This is a radar? No, that's an antenna. That's an antenna.
Starting point is 00:32:49 The antenna is up for this. My antenna has been up for backup nose tackle throughout the summer. When we spoke about depth at defensive tackle often we kind of talk about the three technique and actually think morojojo and thomas and thomas booker have given them solid depth there uh i am very concerned about what happens if
Starting point is 00:33:12 jordan davis goes down who steps into that role and that's why i am i'm i would say put a claim in for siaki ika it is also i mean there are only so many people in the world who are that size but it is a you don't have to tell me but it is a position that can be found. Sure, and you're finding on the waiver wire right here. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:34 Well, that's what I'm saying. I mean, yeah. There's a reason that he got waived, obviously, but yeah. Okay. But if you said,
Starting point is 00:33:41 I haven't been crushing the Siaki. That's what I said. I liked him at Bauer. I liked him at, in David Ronda's defense. He came over from LSU with Dave Ronda. Dane Bergler, who I got to say,
Starting point is 00:33:53 Dane, you're now my, well, I was always a Fran guy, but now that France's officially a draft analyst. right. Frann's now my number one draft analyst. Dane's my number two. Do I make that clear? Okay. Who's your number three? There's a lot of guys I respect, but I don't want to pick a third, but my power rankings are Fran and Dane. Okay. Okay. And Dane had, like, I believe a second, third round grade on him coming out a year ago. So something to monitor. Okay. Well, that'll do it for these case. Hardware temperature.
Starting point is 00:34:29 Jack, Marlon, Tuiapaloto. Sorry, I still think you're cool. And I thought he had a great practice against the Patriots in the joint practice. So he still got that going for him. Speaking of who else had a great practice that day, Zach, this is one that's on my radar. Mitchell Wilcox, the Patriots tight end who was waived, formerly of the Cleveland Browns, I believe, as an undrafted player. Not draft pedigree. Not draft pedigree, undrafted.
Starting point is 00:34:57 He was all over the place in that practice. And so if you think about, you know, one of the benefits of these things is you get guys on tape against the team that you already know. Sure. How do they perform? Mitchell Wilcox is the guy. And I do think that tight end, they're going to add somebody. Obviously, with E.J. Jenkins being waived. Some other guys around the league, Peyton Henderson shot, waived by the Cowboys.
Starting point is 00:35:17 One year with Kellyn Moore has a domestic violence incident in college that is on his rap sheet, but a player who people have connected to the Eagles. and Irbs Smith, who I know is probably your guy because he's got the second round draft pedigree, but Mitchell Wilcox, the guy who I think might be on the Eagles radar. Yeah, Errs. If I'm just throwing a dart. Irv Smith, I liked him when he was with the Vikings. He hasn't quite clicked since then.
Starting point is 00:35:42 You know, he was in Cincinnati. He's bounced around a bit. I had Jody Fortin written down. He hasn't done much. He's more about a past-catching tight end, and I think they'll probably look for more of the blocking type. You mentioned Jack Stoll. I'll trust you on Mitchell Wilcoxon.
Starting point is 00:35:57 I did not watch as much of the Patriots offense that day. But the thing with these joint practices is you get eyes on these players. As you mentioned, the Eagles have acquired guys in the past. Jayhazai comes to mind that that. Fran is in the chat and he's giving you respect for. Oh, okay. He's appreciating that you ranked him number one. Okay.
Starting point is 00:36:18 Yeah, yeah, friends the man. I'm excited to hear Fran's perspective tonight. Fran's perspective, not as a coordinator, but as Fran. Yeah. Yeah, so, yeah, that's a good one. I'm very curious to see if Donald Parham is cut, because Donald Parham will be the guy that I would go after. I mean, if you get Parham, we should, we should do something. Well, my fear is this.
Starting point is 00:36:43 My fear is that you and I will be in the locker room next week. And I'm going to be very professional. And you're going to be, you're going to tell Donald Parham's that you're going to, that's short guy. Oh, you're already, it's already a fait of complete. that Parham's going to be in the locker. If that were to happen, I'm saying, if they were to get Donald Parham. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:37:04 Converter basketball player. And what is your fear? What am I going to do? You'll embarrass me in some way with Donald Parham. That's your fear. That's what's keeping you up at night? No, there are other things keeping me up at night. But that is, now that you say it, that is one thing.
Starting point is 00:37:19 I mean, I would definitely have to do something. You don't have to. You can, you know, you don't have to. I think I owe it to the audience. I was at this wedding this past weekend. It was a great wedding. Shout out of Mark Medina, a good friend of mine, beautiful wedding. Were you able to enjoy it even though you weren't at a third preseason game?
Starting point is 00:37:38 I watched the game the whole day. I mean, I was in the chat. Joy, it did an awesome job producing. And I enjoyed Fran and Jamie and your appearance. Your information was good. I thought the gum bit. I thought that was honestly the best. decision I've made content wise in months.
Starting point is 00:37:59 It was funny, but then when you stood up, you got like the, the, the, the cameras like all over the place. It's shaking. Well, sure. Yeah. But your information was, was really good. I couldn't match your backdrop aside. I could do something else.
Starting point is 00:38:14 No. I'd like it being underneath. What'd you think of all that gum? It's gross. Yeah. Pretty gross. Yeah. Although I, I, I chew a lot of gum.
Starting point is 00:38:24 And I, I, I will take the piece of paper out of my notebook. Because I won't ask questions when I'm chewing gum, so I'll take it out. And I'll wrap it up and I'll put in my pocket. And then sometimes I forget when I do my laundry. And then it's like you got the, you got like your pockets are. Yeah. Stuck together.
Starting point is 00:38:44 Yeah. Oh, no. Well, no, I wrap it up. So it's not sticky when it's in there. But then it's like after the wash, it gets stuck there. That's the problem. this is fascinating this is something that happens often too often yet because because because you'll see me i'll be chewing gum and then the press conference will start and what do you do i can't like i'm definitely not going to do what
Starting point is 00:39:07 these out-of-town reporters do and put it underneath the chair certainly not you're not a psychopath i sit in jail and hurts a seat i can't do that right uh so yeah so what do i do i wrap it up and then I put it in my pocket and then an hour goes by and I forget about it and then I do my wash later but you don't empty your pockets before you put your clothes in the I need to get in a habit of doing that no otherwise you just disrobe and toss it right in you're not checking
Starting point is 00:39:33 not typical because I take out my AirPods and my phone okay yeah but not everything I mean I've made the AirPods mistake once before but actually worked out okay I'd rather the gum mistake than the AirPods mistake well yeah but mine still mine still worked okay good all right Good. I was trying to, okay. So we're at this wedding and.
Starting point is 00:39:53 Old sticky pockets, Berman. Don't say that. It's weird. It's a weird comment. I definitely don't want that, that name attached to me. So, so there's this, there's this reporter who I really respect who's who's, who's, who's, who's there. Wow, this was a journal wedding. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:14 And, well, there are a lot of reporters who I really respect it was there. But, but there's just one particular more than the other. I went up to her and I said I'm a big fan of your work and that kind of thing. And then Emily, my lovely wife, she says, she says, tell her what you do. Like you're like an 11-year-old boy. It's like, tell him about your baseball team. Exactly. So I feel like to get back to it, if Donald Boreham's in the locker room.
Starting point is 00:40:41 Yeah. I'll be like playing it cool, you know. And so did you tell her what you do? I mean, well, then she, she's like, what do you do? And I was like, I cover the Philadelphia Eagles, yes. Right. And so was Emily like, C-E-C?
Starting point is 00:40:57 Yeah. I don't think I got quite the reaction that we was hoping for. But in any event, we were in Los Angeles, so, yeah. What's that? What does that mean? What does that mean? It means if you're at a wedding in Philadelphia and you say like, you're not as a big of a deal. No, I'm not saying.
Starting point is 00:41:19 I'm not, it's not, no, if this was a Philadelphia wedding, that people would be coming up to you. No, I'm not saying that. People say, oh, how does Jalen look? What do you think of Nick? That kind of thing, right? You're in a Los Angeles wedding. They don't want to know what's going on about the Eagles.
Starting point is 00:41:35 Okay. Well, you know who wants to know what's going on about the Eagles? You know who is from here? True Mark Financial Credit Union, right from where Julia and Zach went to high school, up in Fort Washington. And you know what they've got? They got a HELOC.

He says that Albert Oku-Egbenam will be placed on injured reserve after undergoing a core muscle repair, McLean says, according to an NFL
Starting point is 00:43:49 source. He has a projected six to eight week recovery timeline from the date of the procedure and will be eligible to return this season. And he goes on to say that they're going to open with two tight ends and could potentially be interested in a reunion with Jack Stoll. Okay. We've got to wait and see what they're actually doing with these designations. Yes. Because they can say that these guys are going to be eligible to return. But the proof is going to be in the pudding at four o'clock if they're using a designated to return on albert o i think that's bad process i'm with you there i haven't seen anything from albert o in a year and in a training camp in a season in a training camp to use one of these designations on him
Starting point is 00:44:30 yeah i mean he was waived last last summer the eagles were the only team willing to trade for him because they gave the absolute minimum you could give they signed him in for agency Obviously, the rest of the league was not super interested. He didn't do anything this summer until he got hurt. They could have waved injure him and, you know, bring him back if they really want to keep him in the building. Like, the league is not pounding down the door to get Albert O. And so if they are using both designations on Albert O. and I. Smith, I think that is going to end up looking like bad process.
Starting point is 00:45:07 I think it is bad process. Sure. Albert O is not the guy I would rush to keep back. Now, you could disagree with me on. using one of those designations on Caden Stearns, if it comes to that. You're all over the Stearns thing. I am all over the Stearns thing. I could be wrong there.
Starting point is 00:45:21 Another guy who I feel like the league has spoken, you can still keep him in the building. The leagues, he was literally the top, the only team, you know, the number one team on the waiver wire claimed him. And then he failed as physical. And then they cut him because. So then the Eagles claimed him and they were, what, 27th? Well, yeah, yeah, because he was hurt, right? And the Eagles were willing to roster him for two weeks. understanding he was her. He's a background. Now you can say he's probably going to sign with your
Starting point is 00:45:48 practice squad at this point, but I would just pay attention to Caden Stearns. It could be wrong there. I was wrong on Andre Sam. Okay. But yeah, Alberto would surprise me if they used one of their spots on him. Just keep checking on the news. Dee Eskridge, another guy with draft pedigree, Zach, former second round pick of the Seahawks. He has been waived. Yeah, it wasn't a big de Eskridge guy coming out. And... Not for a big enough school for you. Not that at all. Just didn't think he was a good enough flair.
Starting point is 00:46:18 Okay? Oh, yikes. Now, by the way, Donald Parham was released. I just want to make that clear. Oh. Yeah. Okay. Now we go.
Starting point is 00:46:28 He got something cooking. Something cooking here. Well, maybe the Eagles didn't need to trade for him. There you go. Some names I wanted to throw at you here. By the way, just quickly, the Ernest Jones. Yeah. It's a sixth for a fifth.
Starting point is 00:46:41 Yeah. that's not very high. Yeah. Interesting. So Ernie, not much value. I would actually think, I mean, it's similar to the C.J. Garner Johnson trade from two years ago, right? Where a good player who's in the last year of his deal and a team's trading him at that point. Yeah, but that value tells you that it's not about they couldn't come to terms on an extension.
Starting point is 00:47:04 It tells you that he, I think, lost his job. Sure. There's something. He wasn't going to be starting. Exactly. Exactly. We've talked about safety and the safety situation and that Avanti Maddox is their top backup safety right now.
Starting point is 00:47:17 Okay. We'll see what happens with James Bradbury, by the way. Nothing out yet on that. That could come down to the wire here. I still think the Eagles would try to trade him, would want to trade him. But some veterans, some names, but maybe they'll pass their prime,
Starting point is 00:47:33 were reportedly cut. Desmond King, Terrell Edmonds, who was here. And Adrian Amos, any of them jump out to you? No. Okay, not Desmond King. Desmond King is someone who's interesting to me. Yeah, I mean, it was interesting three years ago.
Starting point is 00:47:48 But I don't think that that's what they need. They don't need a veteran, you know, if they wanted Eddie Jackson, they could have signed Eddie Jackson, right? Like, I think, given that they have Avanti Maddox, I think what they would want there is somebody who's a little bit more developmental. Does it concern you that the three safeties we're talking about here all have like notable injury histories? Yes. I think that that is a real. thing. And I think that would go into why they might keep McCollum if they do, is that C.J. Gardner-Johnson, has to prove that he can stay healthy. Read Blanketship was injured all throughout college and missed a little bit of time before in the NFL. And Avanti Maddox hasn't proven he can stay healthy. So yes,
Starting point is 00:48:24 I do think that that is a real consideration for them and should be. Yeah, that's kind of on my radar here is safety depth as it is, but especially because it's one thing when you talk about like a wide receiver depth, what happens if A.J. Brom. Rounder Devante Smith goes down, you know, you can always say if you lose a top player, what's it look like? Those guys have remarkable injury history. Now, I understand, I'm sorry, remarkable durability history. Well, not AJ before came here, yeah, but certainly these past two years, okay, they haven't had to experience it. The flip side with safety, all these safeties have missed time during the past two years.
Starting point is 00:49:02 So that is something that's on my radar. And I also think I would look at it and say, well, you're a little bit fortified because you have kubr de jean and everybody thinks that that seems like a seamless transition but it's also theoretical i mean we're talking about a rookie and yeah like we haven't seen him there so um on paper that looks like a nice backup option but it's it's something that they might be a little bit more worried about than we are good point all right we got about 10 minutes left uh go ahead uh if i can here i just want to go over the mechanics of what's going to happen here because i let's yeah well i think this is important, especially because, like, the, you know, I'm going on a plane a week from
Starting point is 00:49:42 tonight to Brazil. The Eagles don't have a lot of time before they go to Brazil. They leave a week from tomorrow to go to Brazil, okay? So, there aren't going to be a lot of moves like this weekend for the Eagles, right? And these next 24 hours are really important because they really start their Packers prep tomorrow. Okay. So 4 p.m. today, like we said, is the deadline. Then we speak to Nick Siriani, Howie Roseman this afternoon. Both Fran and I have to have the show tonight. They have until, I believe, noon tomorrow to fill the practice squad.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Is that right? No, waivers process tomorrow at noon. And then after that, you fill the practice squad. Exactly. Thank you. Waivers process at noon. So we'll find out the claims that you make then. The Eagles are on the practice field tomorrow afternoon.
Starting point is 00:50:33 Okay. They practice on Wednesday. And on Thursday this week, so they will be practicing tomorrow at 3 p.m. Presumably with... Gives them a little bit of extra time, you know, because it's 12 o'clock and then you can sign these guys. Presumably with a 16-man practice squad, okay, in place, unless you're bringing in someone from... If you're signing a practice squad player from elsewhere, you're claiming someone he won't be here by then, but they're on the practice field Wednesday and Thursday.
Starting point is 00:50:59 And then the Eagles will be off on Friday, Saturday, but then they're back at practice Sunday next week. So Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, then they leave for Brazil on Wednesday. So this is all going to happen really fast. And I think the practices Wednesday, Thursday, will be more like game plan-centric than typical this time of year. Yeah, I think that's right. That's a good point. Now, so Sunday will be like a Wednesday, Monday, like a Tuesday.
Starting point is 00:51:27 Yeah, I guess that's the idea for them. Yeah. And it's Tom Coughlin, Syria, he would throw him off. I used to cover Tom. I think if Tom Coughlin was here right now, a lot of things would throw him off. Tom Coughlin, when I covered the Giants and they had a Monday game. I'd love to just have him teleported into the studio right now and just to see how confused he was. Well, I think that thing that will confuse him most is the teleportation, right?
Starting point is 00:51:52 It's like, I don't think the, I think it's like, how did I literally get here would be the part that would throw him off. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, that would be discombobulating. What do you want to hear from? Well, I guess we don't know. the players were cut. What do you want to hear from Howie and Nick today? Yeah, I mean, this is, it's hard to say because
Starting point is 00:52:10 we don't know yet, but I imagine that Bradbury will be a discussion, no matter what decision they make. The Dotson trade. The dots from Howie, yes. Now, this is probably our last chance to talk to Howie until the end of the season, unless they do something at the deadline, and he talks then.
Starting point is 00:52:26 So what are your big picture questions for Howie? Yeah, big picture. I'm curious, you know, Jeffrey Lurie said at the owner's meetings that all the ingredients are there, right? And so I want to know, it's more of a Nick question, but Nick and Howley, like going into the year, do you feel like all the ingredients are there? Now, I know he's going to say, you have to go out and you have to do it, you know, you prove yourself every week, so on, so forth. But I am curious. Like, they haven't, to their credit, they haven't had one of these major injuries during the
Starting point is 00:52:54 summer. You know, they haven't lost a starter yet to injury. So they have the team going into the summer that they thought they would have, or going, into the season that they thought they would have. The right guard situation played itself out. Mackay Beckton is going to be the starting right guard. So I think, though, that big picture, do they feel like the ingredients are there going into the season? And what do you think he'll say?
Starting point is 00:53:22 Just why, you know, we can't think like that. We just have to, yeah. One week at a time. One week at a time. Once you think you've made it, you get kicked in the ass. There you go. Nice. Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:30 How about Nick? How tough was today for you, Nick? Well, he's definitely going to say that, yeah. Howie will make a reference to that too, right? I hope we know the players who are cut before. You remember that last year? Yeah, it was like nuts. Asked about the guys you know, right?
Starting point is 00:53:47 No, the undrafted part of this is interesting. I'm also curious if they keep like a Davis price and Thomas Booker kind of qualifies here, but he was on practice squad last year. But what's interesting to me is and how he referenced this back during the draft is the emphasis they placed on the futures deals. Could be Kinnard as well. It's possible. Yeah, Darren Kinnard.
Starting point is 00:54:05 So that jumps out to me because you don't typically see that. Typically, you're keeping some of these undrafted rookies. I think they placed more of an emphasis this year on the futures market. I think if they keep one of those guys, he would like that as a story. Like, well, we view, we did. You know, we knew that this draft class was shallower than years past. And so we did. We approached the futures deals as if it was undrafted in agency and thought we could really make an impact that way.
Starting point is 00:54:29 But if they keep two of these guys, then the proof is in the pudding. right they they did i mean and especially like davis price uh got the biggest contract of any player on a future steel so i feel like the the the we're a little bit behind based on years past right by an hour ahead of time we still got a lot of a lot of moves to be made it feels like don't you think to be reported uh yeah yeah just in terms of the pacing of the trickling of news feels like a where there's there's a flurry coming soon sure well and and and then uh i mean franz not here. You're also an alumni of Feltafeagles.com. There was a year
Starting point is 00:55:06 when, instead of putting out the roster, but they did. Updated the roster page. No, no, no. They put out a tweet with just like, it was the headshot of everything. Oh, I hate that. It's so bad. It wasn't like the names. It was just, it was like, it was like the 60 second video of like each
Starting point is 00:55:23 player for a second. And there was no link to a story. No, it was just like you're. Actually, I think that was the blankmanship year. And you're going through, you're like pausing, writing down, pausing, writing down. Yeah. So that was a pretty tough one. I get the, uh, the impetus to be like, let's do something fun for this. But like, it's so unhelpful.
Starting point is 00:55:42 Even, even if you're trying to disguise it, like your fans want to know who's on it. Like, they don't know. Exactly. Yes. That's not helping anybody. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:50 It's like the quarterbacks. And then boom, boom, boom. Yeah. And it was like moving very fast. And it wasn't done by depth chart. It was done, you know, just like right. So it might have been done like numerically or alphabetically, whatever. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:01 So you would get like, uh, uh, You know, like Miles Sanders, like third among the running backs. Yeah. Yeah, that was weird. Yeah. Okay. All right. Any questions in the chat?
Starting point is 00:56:12 We got two minutes to kill here. I'm waiting for news to break. Noah says, ZB, is there any chance to buy your new book from you in Brazil? He sent you a Twitter team and would love to make it work. Yeah, Noah, I appreciate this. I want to make this work. The thing is the book is not technically out until the 24th. Noah
Starting point is 00:56:32 Maybe that's a rule only for within the continental United States No there's like you know there's there's there's books that like you know I have and I'm giving them out maybe like a week before right But I got to see about three weeks before but if you can DM me again Noah We'll try to make this work also As far as like fan meetups in Brazil I'm trying to figure out the logistics of of that. I actually, I was looking over something. There's, there's a lot of like rules within the stadium. Actually, one of the, I think you'll find this
Starting point is 00:57:11 interesting. I saw you can't wear Brazilian national soccer team attire in the stadium. Interesting. Yeah. Yeah, that's, that's one of like the conduct rules on, on the NFL's website. But like if, if you're not ticketed, you can't be like around the stadium, you know, there's. So I'm, I'm curious to see what. what it is as well. I don't know the logistics of the stadium yet in terms of like how I can meet someone there. But if you're in South Palo, definitely message me.
Starting point is 00:57:40 We'll work to get together. And if I'm able to get you a book or if you're local or in the United States and I can send it to you, that will probably be the preferable way of doing it. Your buddy, J-Mac, Jeff McLean does have another little bit of news. Paris Campbell has been cut by the Eagles. So the Eagles will enter the season. presuming that they end up waiving Joseph and Gata with five wide receivers as on their on their active roster.
Starting point is 00:58:09 I mean, presuming that Johnny Wilson makes it. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, with five on the active roster.
Starting point is 00:58:14 And so I think actually, I think your roster is looking pretty good right now. It's going to come down. I don't want to speak too soon. It's going to come down to Davis Price and Nick Gates. That's what it's going to come down to. Those are the people that we're rooting for. Make sure you become a diehard.
Starting point is 00:58:27 I think, I think Jimmy, I mean, if you want to look at the past champions, me, back to back to back, Jimmy last year. No, Jimmy wasn't last year. Jimmy two years ago and then Andrew DeCecho last year. I did look at the differences that we have left because I had Jenkins. They both had a nice myth.
Starting point is 00:58:48 Jimmy has Josh Job and Trevor Keegan. I have Gates and Tarian Davis Price with Andrew. It's Gates, Davis Price, and I have Ricks. and he has Knard Kagan and McCollum. So the fact that we haven't seen reporting of Trevor Keegan potentially going to IR and not good news for me, that was the bet that I made. So if Keegan is just straight up on the active roster,
Starting point is 00:59:12 a bit of a dent against me. Yeah, and for those wondering, the tiebreaker, because there are a number of people last year who got 51 out of 53, the tiebreaker is the practice squad. You were on that tiebreaker, weren't you? Yeah, and I did not hit the practice squad. That's okay. There was one year when we were doing, I don't want to name a reporter, but he had a great strategy.
Starting point is 00:59:31 He submitted a roster of 55 players, which is a good way of getting all 53, right? Yeah, why not? And one other little note here is the thing. As the defending champion, you have to be, you're in charge of grading it, and you've got to double check. You have to, in your spreadsheet, you've got to make sure that everybody has actually 53 on their roster. And we have to make sure they're 16 on the practice squad, and 17, including Lakin. Fakhilahi. Yeah, Fakhilachi.
Starting point is 00:59:59 The Steelers released Quaswakins today too. I did see that. We should have mentioned that earlier. Yes. Okay. All right. That'll do it for this episode of the P.HLY Eagles podcast. We're going to talk to you in four hours.
Starting point is 01:00:09 So a one hour from now, the roster gets set. Shortly thereafter, we'll hear from Howie Roseman and Nick Siriani.
