Episode Date: October 22, 2026Is this Eagles season a complete and utter disaster so far? Of course. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the buildup to Cowboys week and the schadenfreude that comes with watching the Cowboys... terrible defense, led by former Eagles defensive backs coach Christian Parker. Hello, everybody, and welcome to the P.H.O.I. Eagles podcast.
Bo Wolf and Fran Duffy, coming to you live from the Xfinity Studio and presented by a Toyota backwards.
That's right. Toyota, official automotive partner of the NFL.
Proud sponsor of the Philadelphia Eagles.
And now, proud partner, P.H.O.I. How you doing, Fran?
I'm doing great. How are you?
A Toyota.
Race car.
Love a Toyota.
dad.
I used to know more of those.
There's one guy who used to know a whole lot of them
used to be a world champion at it,
but no longer ran the Eagles' zeitgeist.
Oh yeah, that's right.
Eagles Cowboys coming up on Monday night.
Call and Jerome.
Boy, the division is up for grabs, baby.
Somebody come and grab it in the NFC East.
Do you feel the excitement, Fran?
I am genuinely excited to talk about the football game.
You too.
Yeah.
I feel like it's just been, it's been, you and BLG talked about it yesterday.
It's been such like a long week.
Like the Eagles played Sunday and so much has happened.
It was just yesterday.
Yeah, it feels like, you know, and this game is obviously, we gotta wait until Monday for it.
But I'm excited to break it down, even though there's, you know, break it down as much juice as normal.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I feel like this is a loopy Thursday.
It's very loopy Thursday.
It's going to get weird.
Great.
But we're going to have some fun.
We got swooper coming up.
Yep.
Towards the end of the episode.
Not so sure who our third is going to be.
We'll figure that out.
I see Taco Cat in the chat.
I never knew the giraffe rig, the Pokemon.
Was it?
Oh, I never put that together.
It's a good one.
Oh, you've opened up my eyes.
I feel like I'm in a new world here.
This is fantastic.
Yeah, keep them coming.
Keep up the palindromes coming in the chat.
And if you're watching this afterwards, leave it in the comments.
Leave it in the comments.
Hit the thumbs up and then
thumb up yourself and then go do the whole thing.
Oh, my God.
Evie, another Pokemon Pallendron.
Oh, E, V, E, E.E.E.E.
Yeah.
Oh, interesting.
Yeah.
That's a good one.
Okay.
So Nick Sirionni spoke today.
He did.
Yeah.
A few things that were of interest
to ask him about.
He had no information on any of them, but that's okay.
It's not his job, I guess.
Right.
That's to be expected from that top.
What did you think of this report of the $250,000 fine
that was levied his way by the league
that is maybe not necessarily going to be held or not?
It's kind of like a, it's like a speculative fine.
And correct me if I'm wrong,
it's not from one specific incident, right?
It was more like a culmination thing.
He didn't answer that.
Right.
Yeah, so that's what some people have said.
Right.
I mean, because it's not like there was one specific thing in this game where it was like,
oh, yeah, like that's, that's the moment.
I don't know.
So that's where I would, that's where my head would go.
I would think so.
Yeah.
I think part of the reason he's getting fun is because he wants the ref's heads to go a certain place.
He was in the pocket.
Joe, he was on the bag.
He was on the bed, Joe.
Ah.
It is going to be a loopie third.
I don't know if this is as fun for you as it is when you go on DLS and they got a whole song for you.
I could do without the song personally.
And they know this.
I'm not like, yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
I can do without the song and dance.
Just talk some football.
Ball man.
Come on.
All right.
Well, let's do that then.
Let's get to it.
Would you like to start with the Cowboys offense or the Cowboys defense?
Let's talk.
I feel like there's more to discuss with the Cowboys defense.
Ah, Christian Parker, who you saw in the third.
thumbnail.
Flew the coop,
said,
I'm ready to take on
a defense of my own
without Vic Van Gio.
This is a good spot
to land.
They were really bad last year.
All I'm going to do is
get them to average.
And I'm going to be hailed
as the cyan.
A young defensive whiz.
He gets there.
And they've been really bad.
It's been terrible.
They're coming off their best game.
I would say this is probably
their best performance
going up against Green Bay.
But is that the Mike Petton
influencer?
Is that Christian Bunker?
Well, here's the thing.
The stuff about the Mike Petten.
When it first happened, I was like, oh, that's a bad look for Christian Parker.
But then I was like, oh, wait, like he has worked with Parker in the past.
That's his job, his first start in the NFL.
Well, in the sense I've gotten is that like, oh, they wanted this back in January.
First made the move, but they didn't want to open up the pocketbooks.
Oh, really?
That's the sense I've gotten.
Oh, that's interesting.
It was like, oh, like, all right, they think they've gotten so bad.
Parker wanted this.
Parker, they were pushing for this.
And it was like, oh, like, things are so bad.
Jerry, what are we doing?
Spend the money, my man.
He's, you know, do you want to win or not?
Wow.
He knows is the answer.
Right.
But better, I mean, you don't want, you don't want a colleague necessarily named Mike
Petten.
He's walking all over the office, petting everybody.
That's right.
Keep your hands to yourself, Mike.
Yeah.
But it's football.
It's a different culture.
Not necessarily.
I think it's still generally frowned upon.
All right.
So what is the identity that this team,
this defense would like to have?
It's going to be very similar to what.
And here's the thing.
It's very,
it's interesting that the Eagles are not interesting,
but it's coincidental that the Eagles are playing Christian Parker
the week after playing Jero Evereaux,
who was another Fangio disciple.
Now, in year one, in Carolina, things did not go well forever.
Oh, and it was like, oh, man, like the talent's not there.
What are they trying to do schematically?
They're trying to find their way.
Year two, it's like, yeah, they still don't quite have enough talent,
middle of the pack in some defensive categories,
but still overall, not a great unit.
Year three, they've been much better.
And we talked about that group last week.
We saw them up close on Sunday.
When I look at Christian Parker here, yeah,
it's a lot of the things that you would say,
all right, like this is the way they want to play.
but can they really play the way they want to play?
They have not been,
they were terrible against the run to start the year,
like putrid.
And so they are top 10 in the NFL right now
in single high coverage rate.
Is that because that's the way they,
Christian Parker wants to play?
Or is it, oh, they're playing more single high
because they want to bring the safety down
to help out against the run.
You know what I mean?
Like there are,
so there are aspects of this where I look at it
and I say,
this is how they're playing right now,
but I don't know if this is the way they want to play
in an ideal world.
But then the other part of it is like the personnel side of it.
And Dron Bland is brutal.
We'll talk about it later.
Dron Bland,
the corner that they paid a huge contract to last summer.
I believe they paid him right after they traded Parsons because it's like,
oh, like, we're going to move on for this guy.
Let's pay a young defensive player,
even though he's coming off a pretty serious injury.
So Bland has been brutal on the outside.
And then also the defensive ends they brought in.
And some of these guys are like they brought in after the Christian Parker hire.
Roshan Gary has been extremely up and down.
and more down than up, especially against the run.
They draft Malachi Lawrence in the first round.
He's not a run defender.
He's not a light box like run defender type.
And so he is kind of struggled.
They signed Von Miller.
He is not that kind of guy right now.
And so they have not been able to get any kind of steady presence off the edge.
And the Eagles, they lead the NFL in light box rate.
That's the way Vic Fangio wants to play.
We're going to divert our resources in the back end to playing in coverage.
So we always have numbers there.
Cowboys can't play that way.
So, you know, they'd say, I would say that,
It's very personnel driven right now,
but then you also get into,
oh, well, like the coaching,
like the guys don't necessarily look prepared
either on the back end where there's a lot of busted coverages
and there's a lot of air in the coverage
where it's like, ah, like, you know,
this could be better, that could be better.
So it's been a good mix of problems for,
if you're on the outside,
looking at this Dallas defense.
So does it, I know you said that they don't look super prepared.
Do you point more to the personnel here?
actually point at Christian Parker is not doing a very good job.
I would,
I would say that it seems to be more personnel driven,
but also like the guys are in there,
you know,
when you have those kind of like mental costs.
Or are we in a Sean Mannion with the offense situation?
Yeah.
And that's,
I mean,
with some of these numbers now,
like again,
they've gotten a little bit better in a couple of spots
over the last couple of weeks.
So the numbers aren't as bad as like what we see
with a lot of the Eagles offensive numbers.
But this is a,
it's what you and me talked about yesterday.
Like it's very much a,
don't remember.
the unstoppable force against the movable object kind of deal.
So, well, you know what?
Before we get to that, I want to have a little bit more on this defense.
But, you know, they've got, they do have some recognizable names.
Yes.
Quinn and William.
The defensive line, you know, it seems like it should be more talented, but you broke it down.
But you want to say, you don't want to tell me that Duran Blaine has been just heinous.
Yeah, he's, he has not been good.
Now, he had that one year, a couple years ago where he, you know, he had like three,
he picks sixes, you let the NFL in interceptions, you know, and coverage production, we know,
like, is very volatile and, you know, not necessarily you can count on consistently.
And it doesn't mean that a guy is an outstanding corner, not to say that he is like,
you know, complete trash, but they're paying him not at the top of the market, but he's like
in that, like, second tier.
Like he's getting paid like A.J. Terrell and like, you know, something like really good corners.
He's not that type of guy.
He has really struggled in man-to-man coverage.
like when he's he is even when it's not man to man
because we know that so many of these zone coverages
in this defensive scheme turn into essentially man to man
he has really struggled in those areas
to me like some of his best football historically
has been when he has been like in the slot
as a bigger nickel and but that's where Caleb Downs has been
I actually I have always kind of wondered
if that was Caleb Downs best spot anyway
like they were you know that was the plan like right away
he's like he's gonna he's gonna be like the Cooper DeGine
Cooper dejean was like a great corner in the big 10
you know like Caleb downs is a great safety in the big 10
but you know I think that Dejean's got more coverage chops personally
like a more more matchup ability there
you know and so I kind of wonder like is the best version
of this defense actually taking down playing him more as a safety
you know then if you're married to bland because you gave him this big contract
do you kick him inside it's we'll see what do you got
that's a tough long boring life
if you're married married to bland right I mean
get a little spice in
your life you know what I mean hmm that's right trying to think about the last names or somebody
that is the anti-blanned let's think about that let's do it look I'm sure back to it
how's my guy LT overton doing he really only plays in so they have like um you know how
like in the Eagles defense they have some of those packages where it's just uh it's a nickel
package with three defensive tackles and one defensive end doing one outside linebacker on the
he plays in that package.
That's it.
They don't rotate more than that?
No, not really.
Interesting.
Yeah.
Okay.
So to the, you know,
movable object and the resistance force,
Sakel and Barclay is supposed to practice today.
Yep.
Mike Airfeller reporting to this morning that there's a good chance he plays this week.
If you get him back,
let's assume Drew Kendall is back.
Yep.
Maybe Lenny Dickerson is back as well.
I would answer this.
pay at Dickerson's back. Do you think
that there is hope that the Eagles can
run the ball on Sunday? Again, they've
got the worst rushing success rate in the league
through the first six weeks of the season.
Definitely, I do. And when
you look at a lot of the explosives they've given up
and it's not just explosives, it's
also success rate, as you mentioned, but when you look at
some of the big chunk plays they've given up, a lot
of that has been on the edge.
And I mentioned not having those defensive
ends that have that ability to consistently
hold up there. I do
think that's an area where the Eagles can try and have some
success. You've got Milata and you've got Markell Bell. Now that would be in the direction of the
tight ends as well. But it doesn't always have to be, especially if you spread it out a little bit
from a run game stand or from a formational standpoint. I think that's an area where they can try and
find some success. And, you know, we especially with Sequin, like get hit, just get him a runway.
And I think that he can get through some of these tackle attempts from these defensive backs.
Like that would be an area for me. Like if you're going to try and run the ball, this should be like a
like try and gain the outside edge like sea gap.
D-Gap kind of the situation here for the Eagles.
Samson built in the chat was an interesting question.
He said BG on Block the day said that Landon Dickerson was the main person calling protections,
which I think we've seen before.
Could we see an improved O line once he returns?
And if so, Tanner can be a very good quarterback.
And I think this is also related to, I know that they probably wouldn't do this
because he's so busted physically that it doesn't really make sense at center.
Yep.
But why not just let Leonard Dickerson play center if he's going to be the one actually
identifying stuff?
It was also like I remember saying it when it was the when they put Dickerson on IR and it was
like, oh, we're going to put Kendall in and then we're going to move Kendall to center and move
Jurgens to Guard.
Right.
Well, if Jurgens wasn't making, you know, wasn't like primary making the calls anyway,
just have Kendall do it from guard.
Right.
You've been doing it.
Right.
Exactly.
So that was also like another thing that we talked about.
But yeah, obviously that's multiple iterations of the softens of line removed.
Yeah, I think they'd probably want to leave my car.
It's just the movement.
Yeah, I think so.
Okay.
Yeah.
Now, from what I understand,
it's a very funny, like, head spinning thing at left guard to go from Willie Lamkin to
Leonard Dickerson.
One guy who can't hold up but can move and another guy who can't move but can at least
just stand there and not get pushed over.
Right.
That's the hope.
Yeah.
Now, from what I understand, Dickerson is like looking good.
like looking like car he's because he he did not look himself you know like the did not look like
a playable NFL athlete like in terms of what he was moving like through most of camp and then
certainly in week one against Washington and so um I don't anticipate that he's going to
return to pro bowl level but if he is if he is a if he's moving I don't know like 50%
better than what we saw I think it's like we yeah fans didn't get to see this but it's like
the first week of training camp, he looked okay.
Yep.
And then by the end of training camp, he looks like he did in week one.
Yeah, like by week two of tampoos, it was rough.
So yeah, I think that from what I gather, this was a summer injury and not just like, oh, yeah, like this is just a remnants of like, so it's like, all right, there's a camp injury.
And if that's the case, like, you hope that he's better and, you know, you insert him next to Jordan Milana and you keep moving.
And if that's the case, I'm going to go back to this again.
Willie Lampkin should be playing a handful of snaps
as your second tight end.
Yeah, why not?
Yes.
Like a thousand percent
should be playing in that role.
Don't you think they would just make it be Fred Johnson?
Because that's what they used to do?
I hope not.
To me,
like that is a creative solution to a problem that you've got.
Yeah.
You know,
but we'll say.
Yeah,
I mean,
again,
come out and look a little bit different.
Do you show me something.
Creative solutions.
Yeah.
On Monday night.
Yep.
If it's just straight back to,
the same game plan, but we've got different pieces.
We think it can work this week.
It's going to be so disappointing.
Yes, I agree.
Okay.
What about in the passing game?
What do you think the Eagles will try to do in this matchup?
I guess think about that question.
We'll come back to it in two minutes on the other side.

Back on the PHAY Eagles podcast,
Bow and Fran.
I'm going to have to get in touch with Rothman
because the degree to which I just saw
you can torture your body to pat yourself on the back
when I ask you about Donovan Azarako
and you just say,
here's what I thought it was.
What I live!
My IT man is acting out.
I've got, I'm sore,
you know, I'm not feeling great.
Great answer in the chat to the opposite
of Duran Bland.
Yes.
Julius Gibral Peppers.
Great answer.
Great answer.
Good job by Hoflax.
Yeah.
We got a super chat from Lil Miss Run the Ball.
Very generous donation.
Thank you.
Need fantasy advice, Fran.
What the hell?
I'm sitting right here.
You read it.
I don't want my friend.
All right, hold on.
Great.
I got you.
Thank you.
Thank you, Lindsay.
Need fantasy advice.
Fran, do I accept a trade where I get Joe Burrow and running back Kendra?
for Sam, Donald, and Zach Charbonnet.
Starting quarterback is Allen on by.
For what it's worth, my team, kid picked mostly, has been good.
I get Burrow and Kendrae Miller.
I don't know if Kendra Miller is giving you a ton because New Orleans has really
struggled to run the ball.
Donald obviously hasn't played great.
Charbonnet, what do we expect coming off the injury?
I mean, he got hurt in January.
You already have Josh Allen.
I don't think you need to overextend.
I would probably stay put there.
What do you think?
Who's country,
Miller, I've never heard of the guy.
What team does
Borough play for?
Sounds like a rodent to me
or something, I don't know.
I couldn't help you with that question.
They're too difficult.
Do you remember Jaguars
defensive end, Paul Spicer?
Yeah, that's a good one.
That's a good one.
I like Paul Spicer.
Okay.
You get what you asked for, Claire.
Eagles past game plan.
Yes.
Against the Cowboys.
So the Cowboys, like,
you know how like if you look at the Eagles offensive numbers?
Just like they've been so bad that they're just bad across the board.
Every which way you look at it,
it's like there's nothing good.
So when I look at the Dallas defense numbers, it's the same thing.
So like you want to say like, oh, more motion.
Great.
They're terrible against motion.
Oh, more play action.
They're terrible against play action.
Like literally across the board.
It's all there.
Absolutely goes both ways.
I know having the same conversation in Dallas.
Correct.
No matter what, they're terrible at this.
You're terrible at that.
A thousand percent.
So what I would say, like watching the Cowboys defense
and watching a lot of the explosives they've given up
and what I think that they're going to try
and what Christian Parker will probably be trying to correct,
there's a lot of what they would call like error in the coverage
where, you know, where, you know,
guys are running through zones and there's not enough,
there's not guys in their hip pocket.
You know, there's not that the passoffs aren't great.
They've struggled with guys in motion.
I don't anticipate the Eagles are going to like up the,
motion per se because they've already, you know, they're putting guys in motion well enough
this season. What I would say is just kind of saying like, all right, like dial this back to
what are we expecting from the Eagles past game with Tanner McKee and what we talked about in that
conversation on Monday. Moving forward, I would anticipate like, all right, this is going to be like
timing, rhythm, ball out where it needs to be. So this is up to the coaches. Like, all right, like,
dial up the things that Tanner McKee is going to feel comfortable with and throwing. And then
Tanner's got to let it rip and be accurate and get like let those guys, you know, catch and run.
like more slants, shallow crosses,
like take advantage of the space that they give you
and put the ball on the money and let and keep moving.
Like this,
the Tanner McKee offense,
honestly,
probably plays into like the way that Nick Siriani like wants a game to go
where it's like a high success rate type of,
it's like,
all right,
like let's stay ahead of the sticks and keep it moving
and like, you know,
slant flat and,
you know,
these stick routes and stuff like that.
That's my anticipation of like what I would expect
with this team and in this game
that should be a workable formula.
Yeah,
Tanner McKee is the version of the quarterback who should be the way that you often complain about Jalen
Hertz being in that it should be the longer he holds on the ball, it should be a dead play.
Yes.
Like he needs to get, he needs to be getting rid of the ball.
Question.
Within two and a half seconds.
Right.
You know, and I think that, you know, there's, there's aspects of it where, all right, like,
if you, you watch Jared Gough, right?
All right.
They've got some of those long developing play actions.
We have not seen one thing all season that those.
that those will work for this team.
So like,
all right,
if you are saying,
we're not going to have
those times of plays
where he's going to have to hold onto the ball.
All right,
then it's got to be a lot of like ball out quickly.
Again,
take advantage of the space they give you
and put the ball in the move
and keep rolling.
Brian Burns.
Good one.
Thank you.
Yeah.
That's a good one.
Some of the chance suggests Malik Hooker.
That's a good one for this for this opponent.
Yeah.
Well,
been a long time.
Yeah.
Chris Ballad's first draft pick.
Indianapolis.
Oh, poor one out.
I do think that
I mean,
some of the videos of Ballard
in like the draft room
after drafts.
Yeah.
Where he's like,
oh, got the best past dresser
in the draft.
Like the lay out to a lot too.
And it's like,
all right,
calm down, dude.
They,
uh,
maybe,
probably not.
The thing is I was thinking,
I was talking about this
with somebody yesterday,
um,
where when I look at their,
because he's been there for such a long time,
it's like the draft history.
so many of the key positions,
they spent so many resources on pass rusher.
A bunch of second round picks,
multiple first round picks.
And just,
you know,
a couple like fine players,
but no needle movers,
wide receiver,
no needle movers.
Quarterback,
obviously,
like consistently like swinging a miss.
The big hit,
the big picks that he hit on,
it was like,
oh,
you know,
Shaq Lennon.
Elson.
Yeah, Quentin Nelson.
It was guards,
linebackers,
like Kenny Moore at Nickel Corner.
like, you know, they didn't find
like needle movers at important positions.
That's where like the positional value stuff does come into play.
But this is a bit of a sad.
It's always for you.
I mean,
you want a guy with a real track record of predictability.
Very much so.
Yeah, that's a tough one.
Yeah, that's a tough blow for me.
Okay, well, that's not so bland.
Not so bland.
Jets suggest, aha, Clinton Dix.
Did Eagles, what do you think about that?
So, so funny that we talked about it.
It was literally two hours after you talked about it.
acting. I mean, not to be,
I guess that's not surprising, given what we
talked about though. Yeah. Turns out he
blue as far as they were concerned.
Okay. Anything else
from this side of the matchup that is
like you want
the first three drives
if the Eagles don't do this, you're going to be pulling your hair out.
I put me in the camp of
like when it comes to like Joey Porter Jr.
He's a nice player. He's a nice player.
I don't look at him as
like a top shelf corner like I don't look at him as like one of the top you know I don't even like
top 10 corner I think we're probably like right on the fringes there that said the delta between him
and the rest of that secondary is such that I'm I don't need to see a lot of targets going Joey Porter
Jr's direction so if if I and I don't think that they're going to travel him against Devante
Smith but pepper pepper blend with targets uh nice yeah pepper pepper plant you um been yeah
It's the only way to make up for it.
What are we doing here otherwise?
Go to the slot.
I think there will be other matchups available for you.
I would not be going to Joey Porter Jr.'s director.
Now, again, if it's Devante on Joey Porter Jr., it's third and eight, I'm not necessarily
scared of going that way.
But earlier, like you're asking like the first couple drives, if Tanner McKee, you know,
if his first six attempts and four of them go in the direction of Joey Porter Jr.,
that would be questionable.
So some minor transactional breaking news for the Eagles
Mike G reporting the Eagles are releasing E.J. Jenkins.
Whoa.
Which is interesting.
They already had two open roster spots.
You would certainly imagine that this means Zachertz is going to be signed to the active roster.
They've done enough pissing in his face.
But E.J. Jenkins plays special teams.
Zachers does not.
They've already stripped away special teams players from the roster.
Eiji Jenkins is not like
respectfully Cam Latu
as a special teams player
but he's helpful
but that's still two more spots
probably Landa Dickerson coming off of IR
and maybe one of the other guys coming off of IR
Stowers Stowers
Cacterra and Jacorian Bennett
man I mean this is a friend
like Jacori and Bennett
Eli Stowers
that's like trying to think of who else
want for Caceterre
please
Stowers did like they were trying to work a minute
special teams during the
summer.
Maybe
that's
not Cacetara can play
special teams too
yes
so that's probably
that's probably it
man it would be
a real slap in the face
if they use that
spot for Cacquetara
and not hurts
and keep Ertz
on the practice squad
at that point
I think he's got a
unless just doing
for the love of the game
like
it's like being in the building
and how he's office
or something like
something
it's a squeaky wheel
yeah
I did
I did what do I need
like five catches
from arts for the
this Ruperpoint, something like that.
B six. Yeah, come on.
We got this.
We all got.
What we need. All right.
Take a break. Come back and talk about the Eagles defense against the Cowboys'
offense. Can Vic show Christian Parker
how to coordinate a defense?
This is what you didn't know.

Back in the P-HY Eagles podcast, Bo and Fran.
Time now, Fran.
We went out to talk you into this one, Eagles fans.
No.
The future is bright.
presented by Shady Ray's.
Could the future be bright for the Eagles defense after a bad performance against the Panthers?
Going up against the Cowboys offense that was one of the best in football last year.
Yep.
It's been just kind of mid this year.
I'm having great.
What do you think?
Possible.
Yeah.
I think so.
Okay.
Well, good.
I will.
I'll play it.
I think the future could be bright for the offense as well.
Talk about the, you know, Sequin Bark.
Bark that potentially return.
Yeah.
Atlanta Dixon.
give it a week, I'll give it a week.
Yeah, it must be so
enjoying to be next to me.
I missed me next to you.
It's been a couple days.
Yeah, I do think that when you look at the,
the Dallas offense has not met expectation.
You mentioned it was one of the best
in football last year.
What they are missing right now
is any sort of explosive dimension.
And they weren't an explosive run game last year,
so that's not the biggest surprise.
But in the past game,
they have just not been able to find that level of juice consistently.
And look, the last two games in particular have not been good.
And we can talk about like the wise behind that.
But yeah, I do think it's possible.
Now, they could look at this and say like it's a kind of a get right situation for them as well
because the Eagles defense hasn't met expectation if you're an outside looking in.
But it doesn't seem like the vibes are great down there.
There's like a lot of stuff about like effort and like the coachability.
And are they listening to the coaches?
like there's been a lot of that smoker around this Cowboys offense in the last week.
So yeah, I do think it's a good opportunity here for the defense.
Okay.
What do we need to know?
What is the, we didn't go through the keys to victory.
No, but we, we saw you hit them.
Yeah, we hit them.
We didn't talk about Tyler Booker.
That's the one thing.
That's right.
Well, I'm at the other side.
Yeah, on the other side.
I'm all turned over.
It's all right.
No, we're good.
All right.
So let's go with key number one here for the, we'll stay on the office side.
It's the only offensive side.
To me, for the Eagles, like the SIM pressures have to get home.
And when I say that the SIM pressures, meaning what the Eagles do a lot of,
where you have, you know, let's say four down linemen and one of the edge rushers drops out
and you blitz one of the linebackers or you blitz Cooper DeGine.
So it's still a four-man rush, but you are still blitzing, quote-unquote,
one of those second-level defenders.
And the reason why I am pointing out the SIM pressure specifically in this game is that
one of the reasons why this Dallas defense or this Dallas offense was not really hitting on full cylinders the last couple weeks.
Dak Prescott never looked settled.
And it was like a lot of throws off of his back foot, didn't trust the protection.
Jonathan Gannon, look, I was one of the big things that I was interested to see is like what that defense would look like coming out of the gates here without Michael Parsons.
You know, is he going to lean into the four man rush and be a little bit more vanilla and bland than, you know, what we've seen for what we saw from here in Philadelphia.
they are expanding that pressure package.
They're blitzing guys left and right,
a lot of five and six man pressures.
So they have dialed up the pressure mode.
And you saw that in this game against Green Bay on Sunday night
or against Dallas on Sunday night.
And Dak never looked settled.
I don't anticipate Vic Fangio to do the same thing.
I don't think that they're going to be like blitzing at high level.
So if you're going to do that, like they try and get the same impact,
I think it's going to be with these sim pressures.
And they've had success against this offense in the past doing that.
You know, Nicopi Dean, you know,
getting home for some of these blitzes.
So whether it's Zach Bond,
whether it's Jahad Campbell,
Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Cooper de Gene,
those are the likely suspects there.
I think these sim pressures have to be a good weapon
for the Eagles,
especially only like the early downs.
That would be something to watch there first and second down?
Who would you like it to be Bonn as we've seen?
Or is it a bit of a changeup?
You have Jehad Campbell going.
Trotter, what do you like?
I think I would prefer it to be the Trotter Campbell
duo just to keep Bonn and cover.
but also like it you know i'm okay with flipping that as well especially if it's campbellin coverage uh with bond
triggering and you think that they maybe do this a touch more just because of the injuries on the edge
potentially yeah that would be something that i would just keep an eye out for uh would be some of those
sim pressures again especially like their early downs okay before we get to number two a little shot
mckeye lemon yes you know a bit not not going overboard maybe a nice piece of fish but just a little bit
a little bit something like spruce it up i'm not i'm not a lemon guy
on food or just in general?
General.
Yeah.
Lemon desserts.
Don't mind.
Oh, yeah.
Lemon in water.
I don't like a lemon in the water.
Oh, I don't mind a lemon in the water.
Yeah.
I don't mind like a homemade whiskey sour or a little lemon juice there.
Give you the sour.
But yeah, lemon in general on food.
Like lemon chicken, no thanks.
Yeah.
A little, a little.
Like a pasta.
Wouldn't mind that.
A little bit.
On a fish, I'm certainly...
Yeah, on a fish, I'm okay.
Calamari, although, yeah.
Calamari was sprinkle the lemon.
Yep.
Yeah.
But otherwise.
How about a lime?
I'm kind of the same.
Interesting.
Yeah.
I'm okay.
I'm okay with a lime.
A nice little like lime zest, depending on what I'm making in the kitchen.
Sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Both citrus.
I'm okay.
All right.
I'd rather, I'm more open to a line.
I think I, I would,
I would describe myself the same way.
And also in drinks.
Lime curious.
Not curious, but more open.
Yeah, it's not as bland.
Yeah, right.
Yeah, okay.
Key number two.
Key number two.
You got to fine tune the motion rules against CD Lamb.
And we know that the Eagles in certain spots this year,
this is going to happen,
especially in today's NFL,
where offenses have found ways to be able to dictate matchups to the Eagles.
We saw it last week against Carolina,
where, all right, you got Tetero-McBer.
Millen one-on-one against Drew McCuba early in the game. You get Jalen Coker one-on-on-one
against Zach Bonn on third and long, you know, just based off like the formation. So teams have
found some success doing things like this. Now, the Cowboys have been very static. This has
actually been one of the big changes from last year where they were, you know, they weren't like
a high-high motion team last year, but they were kind of like middle of the pack. They are
bottom three in motion this year. But even still with the low volume of motion, C.D. Lamb is
still near the top when it comes to targets when he is the motion receiver.
So like when they motion, if CD Lamb is the guy in motion, like alarm bells immediately going
off, he might be getting the ball here.
So that would be one certainly to keep an eye on here in this one is if he is on the move,
make sure they've got kind of button up there.
Are we passing him off or who is going to end up with him after the motion?
Like those are the kinds of things, you know, depending on down and distant situations,
that they just got to make sure they're buttoned up
because look, his numbers have not been great
the last two weeks, but he had like
a record setting day, like,
three weeks ago, it was the Houston game.
So like, they will show like,
fantasy team, honestly,
you play fantasy?
Oh, yeah.
Of course you took C.D.
You love the Cowboys.
That's right.
Lamb.
I like lamb.
I'm okay with lamb.
I like lamb.
Yeah.
But it's on itself,
is not season
that needs the end.
It's not a full
beat down of bland.
Have you had like lamb often?
Like how many times
have you had lamb in your life?
Oh, I've had lamb
a good enough, a good bit.
I have maybe like four times.
Like I have not had a ton.
Yeah, my numbers aren't up.
Put some ground lamb and a meatball.
Yeah.
Now we're cooking.
Yeah, I'm not there.
We did we create, we've created a,
a Christmas Eve tradition in the Wolfhousehold
that's now two years running.
Okay.
See if we make it three.
Because Jane was working on her L's.
Okay.
So we did a lamb lobster linguine.
Nice.
I like that.
But I don't know if we're going to keep up the Ls now
or if we're going to, you know, let's go.
Lazzania.
Move to a different letter.
Oh, move to a different letter.
Kew.
Get some quail.
Quail, quinoa, quinoa, good one.
Keesh.
You know, you want the, you want the, you want the surf and turf.
You want the, the meat and the fish.
Yeah.
I think on that one.
Yeah.
Mofaldi.
Kso.
Good one.
It's good one.
Okay.
Let's close the book on the future is bright.
Yeah.
I think Shady Ray's got their money's worth.
I think that's fair to say.
I think so.
and let's get the key number three
key number three
this is a big
like defensive tackles
stuffing the run game
for the Eagles defense
so you look at Jalen Carter
but obviously the big one here
Jordan Davis
and there's been a lot of consternation
about like his playtime
and percentages and when he's on the field
when he's not on the field
rightfully so this is the kind of game
where you want him to be able to show up
as I mentioned Dallas has struggled
to create explosives in the run game
with Javante Williams
the success rate has been fine
has been solid but you want to make
this team one dimension
like you want to stop the run they have they are running inside zone more than any team in football and a large majority of those runs of like all their runs are going downhill between the tackle so essentially right at jordan davis jalen carter right in that area so this is a big uh defensive tackles felt in the run game uh situation here for this eagle's defense so that is definitely something i would put is uh you know a big key to the game okay now you do want to talk about Tyler booker i do i think that's
who shut down Jalen Carter last year.
That's kind of why I want to bring this up.
Okay.
And, you know, I think that, look, we, we've seen good Jalen Carter
the last couple weeks.
Obviously, we really felt it two weeks ago against Jacksonville out in London where he
was lights out.
I thought he was pretty good last week against Carolina.
It wasn't as, as impactful, but that's fine.
It was a high bar from the previous week.
This is a good battle here.
Hi, Barr.
How are you?
What's going on?
Hello?
As opposed to low bar.
I think when you're looking at Jalen Carter, in this match,
up yeah like Booker gave him a lot to handle and honestly before Jalen Carter hurt his wrists earlier
in the season Sam Cosmy gave him all he can handle in that Washington game so like this is a good
battle here for Jalen Carter and I mentioned the the need to kind of blitz stack Prescott what teams
have had success with over these last couple of weeks the reason why teams have tried to up the blitz
numbers is that the offensive line is held up pretty well in pass protection from a like four man
rush standpoint and Dak Prescott has been very effective against those four
rushes. So, again, if you're not going to blitz often, you need that four man rush to get home
better than other teams have had success with. These numbers have been really good for Dallas
without Tyler Smith in the lineup for the majority of the year. And he is back in the lineup
at left guard. And so yeah, it's a good test here. And Tyler Booker is the name to watch
going up against Jalen Carter. And as you say, if they can, if they don't have to worry about,
you know, worrying about Jalen Carter and just trust that Booker can handle him one-on-one,
then that changes the math. No question. Yeah. Okay. How about your next 10 stat?
Next 10 stat
Let's see
Oh, this would, yeah
All right, so
Dack has thrown
over 60% of his passes short
So nine yards or fewer
Nine yards or nine yards or nine yards
Yeah, nine yards are fewer
In each of the last two games
You gotta correct it yourself
You don't want them looking bad
You know what I mean?
Well, yeah, come on
In each of the last two games
So 60% of his passes
In these last two games
And again, a lot of that against the Blitz
Both those games were losses
61.9% against the bucks
63% last week against the Packers
on Sunday night football.
Under Schottenheimer,
DAC has done that five times.
So the last couple of years,
he's done this five times.
They lost all five games.
So when he is not attacking down the field,
the Cowboys have not been able to win these football games.
The Eagles have allowed just a 43.6% success rate
on those short throws this year,
which is the third lowest mark in the NFL.
That has been a hallmark of this Fangio defense.
It's like, yeah, we're going to take away the deep ball,
force you to throw underneath,
we are going to rally and tackle.
So if you're going to force Dak Prescott to check the ball down,
and live in that quick game world.
They've got to be able to rally and tackle.
The Eagles have been good at that.
So keep doing what you're doing in terms of like,
don't allow those deep shots down the field.
Remember that week one game,
they were able to hit a couple deep balls to CD Lamb
and that Adori Jackson, like those double moves.
George Pickens caught a couple deep balls last year against this team.
So you want to be able to limit the deep ball,
force him to stay underneath.
That's typically been a good recipe for success
for teams in this regime.
Did you read Hansom Rich's new?
newsletter today.
Of course.
Everybody checked that out, of course.
Bronsry,
Bolton.
You would not believe.
Did you see his trivia question
for the Eagles?
Yes.
Zachert's one of five players
from Stanford.
The Eagles have drafted
in 2010.
Yep.
And I'm sitting there.
And I'm like,
this is going to be very easy.
I know I can name every single
Eagles draft picks in 2010.
And I can't get the fifth one.
And I'm just sitting there.
Like, what am I?
What am I?
What am I?
Like, who am I'm missing?
And you know,
know you would not you know I missed who I just couldn't think of uh j J Jarthago
white side oh I missed the most obvious one Casey two Hill your boy wouldn't think of him I
just forgot I couldn't tell it shouldn't be the case should be he you should have a jersey in
the rafters if they had handled it right did you think of an undrafted free agent defensive
tackle that they had from Stanford defensive tackle yeah it's like a dndy tackle
from Stanford mm the last name right up your alley
And Wang was never on the Eagles.
He was on the Eagles.
That's not who I was thinking of.
He was an offensive lineman.
Defensive lineman.
How long should I give him, chat?
Give me the initials.
Yes.
Alex Seifers.
Aziz Shittu.
Aziz Shittu.
That's right.
You know what?
That is the year and a half when
That was the one draft class.
But I was, I did cover him.
Yeah.
In 2017, but he wasn't, he wasn't signed in my draft year.
But I should have got that either way.
Could have been.
Of course, I got Ed Reynolds.
Everybody remembers Ed Reynolds.
But I just forgot about too.
Bad job by me.
Yeah.
COVID, you know, everybody.
Sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, let's take a break on the PHA.
You have anything else on the side of the ball?
No.
I think that's it.
All right.

the show about the football, Philadelphia Eagles, and nothing else.
Bowulf and Fran Duffy.
And we head now to the Xfinity Mobile call-in line for a surprise guest.
Big Papa.
Hello.
It is so good to see you guys.
I'm going to cry.
I don't believe you.
You know, it has been.
An amazing, amazing weekend change here.
And I just want to say thank you to you guys for holding down the fort.
You're welcome.
Really, really special time.
You can take them off.
That's all we needed.
Let me just think about what I want to say to you.
And I know you guys, like, knew how special it was going to be.
And you wanted me to, like, immerse myself in that and really enjoy every moment of it.
I can't tell you how much it means.
I cannot tell you how much you guys mean to me.
And, yeah, I miss you guys.
I miss talking to you.
So, yeah, I, uh, yeah.
I was begging to come back for Swooper, and I'm glad I could be here.
Well, don't worry, you didn't miss anything.
Yeah.
Nothing else going on.
It's been a boring week.
But a quiet couple of weeks, right?
Well, hold on.
You have any, if there are people who are parachuting in here, they don't even know why you've been gone.
What happened?
Me and my wife welcomed our first baby into the world, Eliza Marie Smith.
All right.
EM.
EMS.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's been really, really special.
Julia's been amazing.
Mother, daughter, doing great.
It's every moment has been so joyful.
Like you guys told me, like, there's going to be no feeling, like holding your baby.
There's no words for it.
It has been a really special time.
And like I said, you know, a lot going on in Eaglesland, but hopefully this can be a little bit of a joyful moment.
Even for the sickos, I appreciate everybody who reached out also.
I tried to get back to as many people as I could, you know, trying to just trying to manage a lot of things.
but again and try and enjoy every moment of it.
Everybody in chat is very excited.
Everybody let E.J. know how you feel.
In the comments as well.
Very, very beautiful, baby.
I am stealing that child.
Yes, thank you.
I want to hold that baby.
She might have my hair, though.
Her hair curls up real tight after a bad.
Well, I got bad news.
It looks better on her.
You said it.
I'm here.
We all thought.
How do you feel?
Do you feel like this is who you were always supposed to be?
That's a good question.
I don't know.
I'm just trying to earn it, man.
I don't know if I would say like this was always my purpose,
but I can tell you it was like a good reframing
to just like be here to take care of Julia and the baby.
You know, I think I've always been really grounded in family.
so it's been really, really special.
But yeah, there's just like it's, it's funny because, you know,
everyone will tell you, oh, it's so hard, you're not going to sleep ever again,
all these things.
And it's like, even with all the challenges you might face, it's just so joyful.
You know, it's like when people ask how it is, like, it's amazing.
It's the greatest thing that's ever happened to me.
And like, I honestly believe that.
So, yeah, it's been very, very cool.
I'm surprised I haven't cried at all talking about this.
But a lot of weeping at the Smith household.
Eliza probably cries the least out of anybody in this household right now.
Real blessing.
So yeah, and she's been, she's been watching a lot of sports.
She really enjoyed the LeBron debut.
I've got pictures of her in her sixers onesie, like laughing and smiling.
She didn't enjoy the Eagles, her first Eagles game.
Yeah, I also have a picture of her with her head on her face.
Like, I can't believe what I'm.
Lunders Center again.
The blitz is coming.
Unblocked rushers.
How are we still doing this?
Jack Lund on the field?
I have multiple spit-up rags ready.
Yes. Yeah, you know, the burp rags, we go through them pretty quickly during the,
during the Eagles game so far.
Do you have any thoughts on what's happening with the Eagles while you were gone?
Yeah, I mean, the Jalen Hertz development since I left, it's insane.
You know, it's obviously been like international news.
And I think you guys have done a great job covering it.
So I won't belabor too many of the points that you guys have already hit on.
But the thing that stands out to me is really like,
Like what you guys have alluded to about the person.
You know, Jalen Hertz like getting having to be away from football this long.
It just stands out because you hear guys talk about their identity outside of football.
I think that Jalen might be the most like singularly like his identity wrapped up in football player that I've ever been around.
And you know, for him to have to confront being out for the rest of the season having it taken away from him so abruptly and so unprecedentedly.
and then also the question that I'm not,
I don't want to, you know, say that I think this is a real reality,
but I think there's an unknown about if he will ever be able to play again.
You know, they're going to have to figure that out now.
You know, I think we got to stay with what's in front of us here
and the fact that he's out this season.
But, yeah, it's a scary thing, you know.
As someone who's covered him his whole career,
I actually just really feel for the person, first and foremost,
and the family, you know, as someone who has, you know,
covered him through his family a lot of times.
I know that this has been a really challenging thing for them.
You know, there's been a lot of prayer requests.
and a lot of prayer for him.
So, yeah, watching it from afar has been, you know, like,
we have probably not talked as much Eagles in this house as we normally would in the last week
and a half.
God, I would hope not.
We've talked a lot about Jalen Hertz, though, you know, because it kind of transcends football.
It's like a human thing.
So, you know, again, I think the first thing you want to say is that you feel for him,
your heart goes out for him.
And obviously, it still has real impact on the Eagles.
Again, I think that you guys have done a good job covering over the last few weeks, last week
and a half here.
You'll notice I have no concept of time anymore
Like I'm gonna say two weeks because I have no idea
Doesn't get better
Oh I don't yeah listen
I'm not I'm not complaining
I'm just telling you when I say two weeks
It's because I have no idea how many days it's been
Two important questions relative to the show today
Any favorite palindromes and or NFL players
With a last name that is spicier than bland
Hmm
Palin Jones
Hugo Akitke's last name
I katake I just think it's cool
that he's got a last name
That's a good one
I like that
Yeah
Food players of the last names
That are spicy
I like I liked lamb
From earlier in the show
I was impressed
By how much you eat
You know that's
That's not the cheapest meat right there
I mean that's okay
I've been alive for 40 years
I've had plenty of lamb
I'm just saying
You know
Our friends
Hannah and Aviva both palindromes.
Oh yeah, Hannah.
That's a good one.
I like that.
I don't have a last name that's spicier than bland.
I'll come up with one as we talk here.
Okay.
Eliza.
Well, how do you show up and not bring us to baby?
I did invite her.
She declined the invitation.
You know, one thing about my daughter.
Next time.
She is about that food and she is about staying warm.
Those are the two priorities for her at all time.
and I think at the very least she's probably eating right now.
She's probably chowling down.
How are you doing you, Jerry?
Are you thirsty?
I don't know where this is going.
Oh, I saw this from the cold open.
You still having it's heavy.
No, you don't want any?
You're good.
I got mine here.
I got my bottle here.
Yeah, this is just France take home.
Yeah, so, you know,
I used to come in with a jug that big, yeah.
All right.
You're here for business.
Not pleasure.
Let's get to Swooper.
It's time to start Swooper.
Oh.
This is a bidding game.
There will be 12 items.
And I blew turkeys in that one, which then affected me the next.
What?
I did get it.
And there you go.
I need help.
Is anyone else as excited as I am?
There's like one item a week where you just sounds so like smugged shirt yourself.
Unbelievable loss for me.
Although I'm feeling good because the vapor is coming off this thing.
Maybe this is what you need to turn it around and blooper.
It's a backup.
James.
I don't think you know you don't get to you.
No, no, no, no.
No, no.
No, no.
Sold.
Wouldn't be swooper if I got the order right the entire time.
All right, Jay.
Before we get to last week's results, how did you feel?
Did you watch last week's swooper?
How did you feel about your replacement?
Yeah, Eliza and I watched last week's swooper.
I mean, I thought it was very fitting that Zach misused my turkeys at the end there
because he misunderstood the question or the prompt.
Because that's very on brand for me.
But I mean, listen, it was a good effort by him.
I appreciated the Astonville item.
but generally his bidding strategies in mind aren't aligned.
But again, can't really argue with the result, I would say.
I appreciate him jumping on.
Well, that's precisely incorrect.
The results from last week.
I had an Eagles quarterback as a rushing first down.
Did not happen.
Jalen Carter has at least as many TFLs, SACs, PBOs,
force fumbles as Derek Brown.
That did happen.
A hit for me.
The Eagles convert at least one first down
on their first possession of the second half,
did not happen, but that item carries forward.
The Eagles score is season high and points or allow a season low.
So I had won.
That didn't happen, obviously.
Fran.
Zach Ertz sets the Eagles franchise record for receptions.
Did not happen, but he gets that to carry over.
Temple wins by more points versus Charlotte than the Eagles score versus Carolina.
Did not happen.
Any of the following happens, a special team's touchdown, an AJ Dylan touch, a Kenny Pickett
pass, Elijah Moore's successful touch, non-player rejected, or Dave Canales
Sleaps with an Eagles fan.
We don't think that happened yet.
Fran, Eagles yards,
carries yards for carry.
Well, that was over the weekend.
That doesn't carry forward, but if information
comes to light.
If we find out, yes.
And Daris Cooper scores a touchdown, so you went over.
E.J. and Zach,
the record for longest field goal in the NFL
is broken this week.
That's a carryover did not happen.
Aston Villa score at least as many goals
versus Newcastle on Saturday
as the Eagles score touchdowns in the second half.
That hit.
The Eagles run a successful under-center play.
action when Blitz did not happen.
The Eagles go on a winning streak did not happen.
And then
an interesting one.
At least one of these happens.
Derek Brown records a full sack or
Lankanoe Hospital or Winwood is
mentioned. And yes, Winwood was
mentioned on the broadcast
that would bring you EJ to
two and a win for
the week. However,
this
item is
under investigation.
Oh, I have it on the, I am, I am recused from this investigation,
but the swooper authorities are looking into the possibility that Zach Berman communicated
before the game with Ross Tucker to make sure that Winwood was mentioned on the broadcast.
They were seen together in the press box before the game.
these points will not be awarded
until we have gotten to the bottom of this.
I knew there was something fishy about this.
It smelled from the beginning.
Right, yep.
And all that matters is that the truth comes out, okay?
Transparency is important here.
The future is bright.
We need to bring this truth to light.
You know, it is only fitting again
that my win would be called into question
because of you questioning a guy who, you know, I've got integrity,
you wouldn't question my integrity, but Zach's integrity,
I mean, come on, there are not two people
that have played this game with more integrity than the two of us.
You can't question it.
It is interesting that you call it your win,
because I do believe he put in the turkeys for all those items that hit.
I mean, he was my proxy.
Yeah, fair to say that,
We have not heard the last of this.
And so we'll carry forward.
Everybody gets the same amount of turkeys.
35 for me, 41 for France, 29 for you, EJ.
I am ahead on the season.
You guys are behind.
We just don't know how much yet.
I begin the bidding today.
And we start with item number one.
A pretty straightforward item.
an eagle
scores their first touchdown
of the season
pretty straightforward
could be Tanner McKee
if he throws a touchdown
doesn't not count
he doesn't not got to score it
he's got to be the one who runs it in
or catches it
could be Hollywood Brown
whole league talking about
Hollywood Brown could be available for trade
the Eagles could get another second round pick
from that
who knows
could be
Zacherts
I'll start the bidding at two
three
five
six
seven seven
eight nine
ten
I'll let you have it for ten
ten going once
ten going twice
sold to Fran
Sequin Barclay has not sported a touchdown yet
I was that we were bidding for the same reason then
I was just checked Sequin's
totals how does he not have a rushing touchdown
I mean, I guess I know he hasn't been on injured reserve.
Yeah.
It was, but he's been hurt.
Yeah.
Two games healthy, but still.
Yeah.
All right.
Over to you, Fran.
Item number two.
Item number two.
The Eagles generate more offensive plays of 16 plus yards than the Cowboys.
He might say, well, why'd you pick 16?
Why'd you pick 16?
There's Tanner McKee's number.
There was a guy.
Cute.
Does 16 count?
How did I put it?
16 plus.
So, yes, 16 does count, correct.
So the Cowboys, you might look at this and be like, oh, like this is, the Cowboys have posted 32, 29 past three run.
The Eagles have posted 28, so pretty close together here, Cowboys with a slight edge.
The Eagles have allowed 33.
The Cowboys have allowed 30, so it's pretty close here.
So we'll start the bidding at.
And we're betting on the Eagles, do it more.
Yes, the Eagles generate more plays.
So if it's tied, then it goes to the Cowboys.
Yes, correct.
Correct. So let's go to first bidding. We'll start at three. Four. Five. Five going once. Six. Six going once.
What you have for six if you want it. Six going twice. Sold. Down to 29 turkeys. Over to you, Big Daddy.
First entry. Dallas Goddard's receiving yards against the Cowboys are higher.
Then Arch Manning's completion percentage versus Ole Miss or Trinidad Chamblis's completion percentage versus Texas.
The winner gets to choose their quarterback on this one.
So pretty straightforward.
You're probably thinking can Dallas Goddard get above 58, 60, maybe 65 receiving yards?
And, you know, this is a nod to Fran.
You know, I know there have been some soccer entries.
I figured I'd put a college football one in.
Maybe, I mean, again, you know, maybe Eagles fans will be watching this game.
So probably more Eagles fans watching this than Asson Villa.
What happens if the quarterback doesn't throw a pass?
Hmm, then you have to be over zero.
Is that a zero or a 100?
If you throws one pass, it's 100 or if he completes one.
But, yeah, if he doesn't throw a pass, I'd say that's zero.
I think that that's fair.
Okay.
I'm going to start the bidding at three.
Hmm.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Six going once.
Seven.
Seven going once.
Seven going twice.
You got it.
Sold to E.J.
I'm curious which quarterback Fran would choose here.
I'm going to take.
We'll never know.
You're taking who?
What's that?
You could tell me who you would have taken now.
I took Arch.
Because you want the lesser.
You want the lesser of the two, right?
Yeah.
I would probably take Arch as well.
All right.
Item number four,
the professor's initial 4A.
The Eagles run a successful undercenter play action play when blitzed.
They are now 0 for 18 on such plays this year.
The only team in the NFL to not have a successful play,
Dallas has blitzed on 45% of opponents under center dropbacks.
This is a sealed bid first price auction and the item carries over until it hits,
which is a new wrinkle for this one.
Yeah.
sealed bid
winner the highest bid gets it
highest bid gets it for the price they pay
yeah
uh...
what's our uh... what's our turkey counts right now
i'm at 29 you're at 31
EJ is at 22
okay
sent it to you Lindsay
Lindsay
let's hear
that beautiful voice
Fran said 11
brand said 11
E.J.
I could tell by his face
a bit more. E.J. said four.
E.J. said four.
What did you do? I wrote down 10.
Brand gets it for 11.
Nicely done. Good bid.
Needed that.
Read the room. Nice.
Okay.
Over to me.
Item number five.
Jalen Carter touches Dack Prescott.
Okay.
Bodily fluids do not count here.
Got it.
It's got to be him touching him.
Yep.
And it's got to be captured during the broadcast of the game.
Could be a handshake, could be a sack.
Picks him off the ground.
Exactly.
Could be.
Yeah, I mean, it could be just patting him on the butt.
Right.
When he walks by.
But we got to see Jalen Carter touch deck Prescott.
Okay.
Let's start the bidding at five.
Now, if he just touches the ball,
straight punch of the ball, no touch of DAC.
That doesn't count.
I will he he goes for the punch
every really funny every game I know every game
he's like and honestly like it's like multiple times a game yeah yeah so if he does
if he goes for the punch and gets it clean that counts yeah but he'll be a force
fumble of Zach Prescott right okay no that doesn't count it would not count
if it's only ball clean ball yeah okay I kind of like it if it counts but it's not my item
I respect it five um
going once.
Six.
Seven.
I'm good.
Seven going once.
Seven going twice.
It's old.
I could see them like shaking hands at some point.
Sort of like an acknowledgement, but.
Just take a quarterback hit, baby.
That's all I need.
One hit.
All right.
Over to you, Fran.
You know, these games, big moments,
usually you need your big playmakers
come up with a play.
Quinnian Mitchell, Cooper DeGene,
or Zach Bond.
record an interception in this game.
Start the bidding at three.
Four.
You better, but bid on that.
Quignan has added interceptions to his game.
Well, hold on.
We don't want to let's see.
He's guys a father.
We don't want to bring him down.
You couldn't bring him down.
We can't embarrass him in front of Eliza.
He's down there.
That level of analysis.
That's her hero.
The first time like Eliza,
like, you know, just giving him a hard time.
He's like, my wife's prey.
Oh, I can't use that anymore.
Oh, man.
That's going to be a tough one.
You know, I've been leaning on that.
I got to come with you.
I'm a father.
I can't do that.
First person to congratulate you in the locker room as Eli Stowers
comes up and gives you a hug.
It's like, we can finally hang.
He's like, we made it.
Meet you at the jugs machine later on.
He's half a more.
four right now he's got it for four right now four going once four going twice good he's got it
yeah i was planning on like i just this game feels like a moa for one of those guys so that's why i
actually wanted that item but i've spent a lot of turkeys already so it was been he's still got
20 turkeys left i know okay like that we're only halfway through all right e j all right
my second entry we're sticking with the theme here quinion mitchell has an interception
the winner of this item can he elect to keep it in play for the price and sells for in this auction for the duration of the regular season.
I do want to clarify, you cannot bring this item back.
You have to keep it in play each week.
So you get the option to basically spend the turkeys you spend now next week.
And if you win it for seven, you can pay seven turkeys next week to keep it in play.
Okay.
Until he has an interception.
Okay.
All right.
But then you can't do that anymore once he has an interception?
Or could you, if he has an interception?
One time only use it once he gets an interception.
So if you're like me, you think Quignan has added interceptions to his game,
you feel confident about holding on to it every week until he gets one.
Okay.
And what are you starting at?
I'm going to start the bidding at four.
Four going once.
Four going twice.
Sold.
I love this.
Double up.
Really make this my corner.
Quinyon adding interceptions to his game.
All right.
Out of number eight from the professor.
Both teams have at least one punt that nets a prime number of yards.
Oh, beautiful.
Good callback.
Dutch auction countdown from 15 turkeys until someone yells swooper.
Both teams have at least one punt that nets a prime number of yards.
Okay.
Are you ready, Lindsay?
Yes.
you ready?
Here we go.
15, 14, 13, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8.
Swover.
I don't go to Fran.
Interesting.
Are you just thinking both of these seems they're going to punt a lot?
Yes.
Okay.
Over to me.
Item number nine.
Devante Smith has at least as,
many catches as turkeys for which this item sells for.
Devante has at least as many catches as turkeys for which this item sells for.
And I will start the bidding at five.
Seven.
Seven going once.
Seven going twice.
So it's E.J.
Okay.
Seven catches for Devante.
All right.
My last one.
Stay in the receiver core.
Mackay Lemon sets a career high in any or all of the following.
Catches, he would need six.
Targets, he would need eight.
Yards, he would need 44 or touchdowns, total touchdowns, rushing or receiving, doesn't matter.
Needs one.
We will start the bidding at five.
Six.
Seven.
Eight.
What's the turkey count right now?
You've got 12.
I've got 22.
We just got seven.
Eight going once.
go ahead
keep going twice
sold
I kind of like that item
I like that one too
yeah
self there Fran
okay
EJ your final
one for today
all right
my final entry
Sequin Barclay
has more than
83 rushing yards
and you might be asking
why 83 that would be
a season high
for Seqwan Barclay
this is something
that we did a lot of last year
yeah
I'm like okay
we're kind of back here
whether or not
Sequin's going to have a resurgent game. I do see reports from our friends Jimmy Kemski,
Zach Berman, that Sequin is back on the practice field today as we speak. So it looks like he's on
track to play. I saw Mike Garifolo's report earlier. So we'll see if he has more than 83 rushing yards.
I'll start the bidding at three. Five. Six. Seven. Seven going once. Seven going twice.
Eight. I'm out.
Eight going once.
Eight going twice.
Sold.
I feel like this always burned me last year.
But let's go back to it.
Fran is thirsty for a win.
All right.
That's really good for the audio listeners.
Jalick's Hunt back at practice as well, according to NEPA.
At least one of the following things happen.
The Eagles win or
we all wake up and realize the last month never happened.
Normal auction can borrow from next week.
Now, this only is tough because we all wake up
and realize the last month never happened
would include this item.
Yeah, right, yep.
So it would be a self-eating thing.
For that to happen would mean that you didn't own the item
in the first place.
Right.
How could that be adjudicated?
I don't know.
What would be your personal biggest regret from the last month
that you could wash away?
Good question.
Happened this morning.
I pulled out,
I was coming out,
driving down an alley pulled out a little bit too,
a little bit too aggressively.
It was still totally safe,
but it made me look like a,
like a dumb guy.
That would be the one thing, huh?
That's pretty good.
Pretty good months to you.
Yeah.
Good.
How about you?
So I put the winter,
like our winter year away back in the last winter and threw a couple mothballs in the bin
because we had like an issue in the basement last last winter and forgot that I put the mothballs in
which was fine but then when we needed the winter gear on Saturday went and pulled it up everything
smelled like mothballs so it was like i can't wear any of this stuff got to like air it out so
felt pretty bad about that as we were getting rid of that's you can't spend the night out you so
But it would have been I should have I should have thought ahead.
Okay.
I should have thought ahead to, oh, like, it's getting, it's going to be cold this weekend.
Yeah.
Take this stuff out ahead of time.
Get ahead of it.
So then that way it's aired out.
Everyone can be warm on Saturday.
I've never, we never used the mothball.
Yeah, it was a necessity.
I believe you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
E.J.
How about you?
You know, what comes to mind, because I wouldn't change anything about the story of
Eliza coming into the world, but I would change a small thing as we were in the preamble of it.
We read like the doctor's office and Julie.
had to get checked before we could go to the hospital.
And the elevator is like really slow.
And this is like a doctor's office that has a bunch of different things.
And, you know, there's a lot of elderly people that are, you know, coming in and out of the elevator.
So we were on the elevator.
And Julia, like, it was like a get to the hospital now type of moment in the hospital, like in the doctor's office.
And we had to go down.
I got to bring the car around for her.
And we get off the elevator.
There's this older lady.
She's got a walker.
And she's like moving slowly to the door.
and I like I rush out to get to the door and no this is this is this is this is this is more of a
story about like ridicule for me not a not anything bad um and I like open the door and I see
this like old lady like getting close to the door and like the niceness in me took over and I
held the door for like I'm just like sitting there like holding it open for like please like my
wife is really pregnant like I got to get into the hospital right now and like this lady is just
moving really slow I think I honestly shouldn't have held the door open for her because now Julia
makes fun of me
over that like you know i'm sitting here like i thought you were gonna like you like
drush fire or like you didn't you didn't hold the door for her and immediately yeah i held the door
for her but i tried to make up for it with my sprint to the car yeah but i think if i could do it over
again i wouldn't hold the door for the lady i think i just keep to make you uh you would a walk magder
you know too nice you know it's like you're trying to be polite but in that moment it's not about being
polite. It's about getting
All right. I think that's a good segment.
We should do what's your biggest regret of the last month, once a month?
Yeah.
Great segment.
I'll start the bidding at three.
Four.
Five.
The Uroboros aspect of this is making me hesitant.
Five going once.
Five going twice.
Wouldn't it be funny if I said it was sold to you for five?
Pretended like you didn't say anything.
six going once you got it for me seven you know i opened myself up to that when i didn't bid seven
so i'm out you're allowed to borrow you're allowed to buy yeah seven going once seven going twice
did i hear eight seven for me all right eagles win all right we got to get going for the flyer so
let me recap this quickly eagles win i have uh jaylin carter touches dacquesquesquesquesquesques levin has a career
high in something and the Eagles have more plays of 16 or more yards than the Cowboys.
Fran, first touchdown of the season for somebody on the Eagles.
Under-center play action against the Blitz is a successful play for the Eagles, and if it doesn't
hit, you get to carry that over.
Both teams have a prime punt in net yardage, and Sequin has at least 83 rushing yards.
E.J., Dallas-Gonard has more receiving yards than Arch Manning's completion percentage.
Cooper DeGine, Quinnion, Mitchell, or Zach Bonn, have.
an interception. Quinyan Mitchell has an interception and Devante Smith has at least seven
catches. You and I both have seven turkeys left over. Fran has four. Beautiful day. No regrets.
Great to see you, E.J. Good to be good to see you guys too. I'm very excited.
A couple more months. We'll see you we'll see you next year. Now I'll see you next week.
I'll be at the game but yeah I thank you again. I appreciate you guys a lot. I'll keep
pictures coming.
Please do.
Thank you.
Be careful about you bring that baby near me.
I am taking that thing.
That will be your regret next month.
That'll be your regret.
Baby Snatcher.
All right.
Thank you, E.J.
Thank you, Lindsay.
Thank you.
Chat.
What can we say?
Boy, what a great 84 minutes we've had here.
combators got a lot of work ahead of them.
We need palindromes.
We need last names of anyone in the NFL that's better than bland.
It's got to be.
It's got to have spice inherent to it.
Lamb doesn't count.
I mean, it has its own taste, but it could lamb can be bland.
Yeah.
And I was thinking a hooker could be bland too.
It doesn't necessarily mean, you know?
No.
Neither do I.
But it's got he's got to have something.
And then congrats to E.J.
as well in the chat and the comment section.
And just say hi to Lindsay.
She's sitting here working hard, making this whole thing happen.
And you haven't said a word to her.
It's rude.
So please, in the comments, thank you, Lindsay, and hit the like button.
Or she's going to kick your ass.
All right.
That's all we got for Fran.
I'm Bo.
Thank you, E.J.
We'll talk to you tomorrow at 2 o'clock, the professor and
BLG.
As always, we love you.
