Rich, happy Thanksgiving Eve at, I don't know, one of my top three favorite places in Philadelphia.
Great place, Jim.
There's just, I mean, literally anything that you would want to eat, there's 30 options for everybody.
We literally just got brought De Nix's roast pork sandwich with, I went broccoli rob and the sharp probe.
And I always, my take, my food take, I always tell out of towners is the cheese steak is great and I didn't get gusses.
I am curious about how great that is.
But the roast pork may be like this sneaky wildcard greatest sandwich we have.
I didn't know that we were going to get those supply dress.
Thank you to the people at the Nix who I already just bought a roast pork sandwich already.
And it was the first thing I ate when I came in here.
I wholeheartedly agree.
Yeah.
Fantastic.
Although it's funny, I was with my friend at the, who was my friend, Johnny Scanlon,
who was at the bar when we were getting ready for the show here.
And yes, we get ready for the show at the bar as well.
Happy holidays, everybody.
You know, it's a little bit of tight quarters in here, and we were talking about it.
I got it with long hots on the top of it.
Oh, yeah.
And they're just, they're too hot for me.
I always try them on the Scoville scale.
Yeah, I couldn't do a hot one's interview for sure.
I just rip them off eventually and say, man, they taste good, but they're too hot.
So anyway, it's great to be with everybody on Thanksgiving Eve here at Redding Terminal Market.
Yeah, I did a hot one's party.
And I'll tell you this.
Day of eating it
There was about two
So you do the 10 hot sauce to scale
Around eight or nine
DeBom
If you're familiar with the show
Gets pretty hot
You know gets the forehead sweat going
Sure
But it's not that bad
Where it kills you is the next day
Oh nolly
That was not a good time
What a start to the show
Yeah so here we are
Don't do a hot one's party
Because the next day
You will feel it
Yes
but it is Wednesday of an Eagles week.
That means Zach Berman is going to join us live after Eagles practice.
Vinnie Curry will be joining us at some point and all the sickos in the chat that are here watching along with us.
Thank you.
We appreciate you.
And I hope everybody has a grand Thanksgiving with friends and family.
And tonight, I assume, is still the biggest bar night of the year, Rich.
I'm sure you yourself.
Yeah.
I'm too washed up.
I can't do that.
But yes, it is the key night where you meet up with all of your friends from high school,
childhood, whatever.
You go to the local bar.
You meet up with people.
For old time sakes, I want to throw a keg in the woods and let's go have a party, right?
That would be a lot of fun.
But we got some Eagles to talk about today.
And I guess the big news coming out of practice today, unfortunately, and we're going to make this
a happy show and things we're thankful for.
But the big news today, courtesy of Zach Berman's Twitter, who's going to join us around 315,
No Devante Smith at practice today.
Hopefully it's something where he trends toward practicing the end of the week.
But unfortunately, and we're going to talk about the Ravens a lot today, Rich.
They're susceptible to the big play and downfield stuff with their secondary right now.
No, Devante Smith would certainly, you know, for lack of a better term,
handicapped the Eagles in that big playability, leaving basically just A.J. Brown.
I think that kind of got lost in the shuffle last week, and I think rightfully so,
it got lost in the shuffle.
Sure.
Because how are you not going to talk about Sequin Barclay being the greatest thing I've ever seen on a football field?
I mean, he's just, he's unbelievable, that offensive line, how they're working together
and blocking Bengi, owning Sean McVeigh, yet again.
Anyway, all of that stuff happening and getting such an easy,
a very emphatic win against the Los Angeles Rams,
who I think are a decent team, not a great team,
but a decent team.
And to do that without Devante Smith,
that got lost in the shuffle a little bit, man.
You know, last year, down the stretch,
they had a couple of games,
one in the playoffs, one at the end of the season,
where they were without AJ for one of them
and without Devante for another one.
And we all looked at it and we're like,
well, they need all of their options, right?
They need all of their big play weapons.
That's not the case right now.
This is so much better of a,
team and Jamie we were talking about like what we're thankful for I'm thankful that the eagles are they're
not a perfect organization they don't uh not every year are they kind of this dominant team but they
are about as good as any organization in sports from digging themselves out of all it really is
incredible um you know one thing you can always say about the eagles is they're never boring yeah
because they don't just let complacency wash over them they're always active in changing things up
they are active in addressing shortcomings.
And last year, I think when the season ended, you know, there was a defensive coordinator
and offensive coordinator kind of mess on their hands.
But I think the thing that absolutely killed them was their secondary was atrocious.
And Howie Roseman went out in the draft this year and spent his first two picks,
even traded up to get Cooper DeGine, and he addressed that in a big way.
And they're aggressive, they're never boring.
They are able to admit failure, where a lot of professional
teams aren't and address those failures and start over again and they're able to do it in an
amazingly quick fashion.
It's unbelievable.
And that's the first thing I'm thankful for because I remember when we did last year's show
at the Redding Terminal market.
There was, first off, there was an unbelievable baldy hit involved with it.
Oh, Baldi.
It was the day after the Eagles lost the Monday night game in Seattle when, of course, noted Giants
third string quarterback, not just second string quarterback, Drew Locke.
who can't play over Tommy Cutlets right now, drove Seattle back in that game to give them the
win over the Eagles.
Everybody was feeling down in the dumps.
I don't think we even realize how bad it would get, right?
At least that game was somewhat competitive for most of the way.
We didn't know that they would lose to Arizona in a few weeks at home and just not be competitive
the rest of the way, get smoked by the Giants.
Here we are less than a year later because I think we did that show.
Smoked by the Giants.
In December last year.
And this team is, I mean, they're rolling on all cylinders, man.
You know, we looked at the schedule at the beginning of the season.
And I just thought, you just got to find a way to get to December.
Yeah, right?
Because you had this last stretch of schedule where I think it's, what is this,
five out of six at home?
They don't have to get out of playing the rest of the year.
But it is most of the games are at home.
Most of the games are at home.
The one trip is to Washington.
You look, there were, I think there were three cupcakes on the schedule.
Now, we thought that one of those cupcakes
would be Washington and the Dallas would be a tough game.
All right, there's still three cupcakes on the schedule.
Just flip them around.
And maybe there's four with the way Washington played.
Yeah, I was going to say Washington may even be a cupcake anymore with the way.
They've lost three in a row here.
But, you know, it's funny.
We're just going to talk about things we're thankful for.
They got here.
Yeah.
They didn't just get here.
They are.
Yeah, I mean, they're cruising right now.
So anyway, it's a great time to be an Eagles fan.
It's just, I mean, they're playing fantastic football.
Honestly, like, you said it after after the game on Sunday.
day, because said it the next day.
It's just a great performance.
I got nothing bad to say about that right now.
And yeah, can they win a Super Bowl?
Absolutely.
Absolutely they can.
And look, I said last week going into the game, I thought they went one in one in these next two.
Whether it was, I thought the Rams was the more important of the two because of the NFCA
thing.
So I kind of went in, I set myself up to go into this weekend, kind of expecting a loss.
And after that performance, Rich, screw it.
They might go 15.
too. They're playing that good of football.
The defensive turnaround this team has had the Baltimore Ravens have looked somewhat
human as of late. But like now I'm kind of like, I wish I had that statement back.
Like go 2 and O. There's no reason you can't go down to Baltimore and win.
I thought they would go one in this stretch too.
You're right. That is a type of win that makes you reconsider.
Yeah. We can't, you can't lower the expectations for this team, right?
They are absolutely capable of beating a Baltimore team who, if you notice like just.
much is so good. I'm like, God. It looks good. And that's something that you would give the benefit
of the doubt to. Another thing that has gotten the benefit of the doubt for a lot of the year has been
the Baltimore Ravens, right? And they've obviously had some impressive performances when they
have blown out teams. Their offense is just, you know, statistically, it's one of the better ones
we've seen in the league for a long time. Lamar Jackson has two MVPs, I think, for long stretches
of this year so far. He's probably played the best football of his career. So I get that. But they also
lost to Cleveland.
They're also giving up
a million points. Like, they played
two games against Cincinnati who the Eagles
absolutely smoked and those two games
were absolute barn burners. Like,
the work Jamar Chase was doing
against them and that Thursday night game. Ever since
Kyle Hamilton went down, they're really susceptible
to the big play. He's back now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But
the defense like hasn't been the same since.
Like, they're susceptible to big plays.
And I think if you're, you know, on the
bet three, six, five app this weekend, we were
kind of discussing it briefly before the show.
I think this is, you know, Sequan's had his, like, just most ridiculous run I think I've ever seen from an Eagles player before.
AJ Brown's on the sidelines last weekend saying, I think you're the greatest football player in the world.
And he might be right.
I think this is a weekend where A.J. Brown kind of goes ham and chews up a Raven secondary.
I think that's very possible.
He's, it's like, you almost like, with Sequan's greatness, you've almost like forgotten about the fact that, oh, hi, Anthony.
You almost forgotten about the fact that they have like perhaps the best wide receiver in football too.
Yeah.
We're just talking about things we're thankful for with the Eagles.
And basically we're just gushing about this team.
And Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman and how the Eagles admit defeat, counter, come back.
And they're always a competitor.
They're not perfect, but they do bounce back better than a lot of organizations.
Oh, big time.
No, no.
You guys are right.
I mean, who would have thought to count every year, you know?
Yeah, I mean, relevancy.
Yeah.
We talked about it with the Phillies.
I know.
I mean, that's the greatest gift.
Yeah.
The gift of, because all you want you, listen, Super Bowls and Super Bowls,
they're magical experiences, you know.
They're unicorns, yeah.
You really are, right?
And I get it.
We probably should have more than we do all these years.
But truthfully, just be a playoff team that's got a real chance.
And then you get the chance for lightning in a bottle.
Once you get in, if you get Nick Foles, you know, playing the greatest quarterback one day of the year, like, things can happen.
That's right.
And it's amazing from the fall off last year to where we are now.
It's like, I truly am grateful for what the Eagles are.
Well, I mean, it was funny.
I was texting with Howie the other day.
And what really kind of got me was, he made the defense in a year.
I mean, think about the things that are going right.
I mean, like, number one in the NFL.
I think the point you have made repeatedly, which I completely agree with, is that defense two years ago was great against bad quarterbacks and bad defense.
But they didn't have off-speed pitches.
No.
They could not play against the great quarterbacks, which is why they fell short of a Super Bowl, even though it was an awesome team.
Yeah, right, right.
They get exposed.
They get darted.
Like, you could dot them, right, you know, up and down the field.
If you put this Eagles defense against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs that day.
it's a totally different game.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, with Cooper and Kuinan.
I can't believe these two are real.
I know.
And they are.
And they're not like, this isn't a flash in the pan.
No.
This is legitimate.
These dudes are special players.
Well, and you think about it, right?
You have the other part of it is the triangle,
because you have the triangle in the secondary,
pass through the second level, right to Carter.
Because Carter...
He's a freak.
Carter's on the car.
Carter's bright.
You should get your loved ones, a baby rhino shirt for that.
holidays go to all p hely.com there's a locker room right there i love that i'm a huge
shalin carter i just think he's so underrated he dominated on sunday night he didn't get a sack
milton williams owes him a sack i think josh swight owes him a sack exactly he owes him a sack i mean
and it was the career high in double teams that he ever saw or at least for this year i mean
that was astronaut at one point it was 80 percent and went down but i mean you kidding and he was
snowballed by him yes like he was doing the double arm swat just like don't even touch you
me and he's around the corner for a deep tackle.
Yeah, he's sick. And he's part of the reason why, obviously, the BG loss is huge.
The guy was playing unbelievable football.
But with Milton Williams and these other guys, because of the Jalen Carter effect,
you almost feel like, okay, they can overcome this.
Yeah.
And he's playing that good of football.
He is.
He's, and again, and then you couple this with their secondary, right?
And you look at, having DeGene in the middle of the field?
Oh.
I mean, that's something.
I mean, when you think about it, how big it was, like, Cooper Cup is still great.
I don't care anybody says.
He's still great.
And the fact is, he played him toe to toe.
And anytime there's a third and four, he's up in a line scrimmage, and he tackles.
He's Iowa, right?
He's a hawk guy, and he tackles.
But you know how long I've been waiting for actually football players?
Yeah.
Like, it feels like their defense has football players.
It does.
And Zach Berman is about to hop on from the.
Nova care.
Devante, not at practice today, a little bit of a bummer.
I don't think.
And let's be honest.
Do you want to play?
I mean, see, now I'm getting greedy where I want to beat the Ravens.
I know.
I know long term is the better view.
I mean, they can still beat the Ravens.
They can.
No, Roquan Smith, you could run on them.
Yeah.
Roquant's huge piece of that run defense.
Yeah, that defense is very getable.
And I think to your point, because, like, if they can get through this,
game if they can win this game, which I think is still very much on the table, even
without Devante Smith, that schedule down the stretch is pretty easy. You could give him a few
weeks off and really not miss a beat. Let's be honest. You really think Pittsburgh beats him? Because
I don't. I don't. I don't think. Ross is going to beat them. I don't think he goes across the 50-yard line
in that game. Yeah, exactly. I don't see the same way. I've been, I've been hating on the Steelers. I mean,
look, that defense is very good. But come on it. But come on. It's a very low ceiling offense. Yeah.
My prediction right now, Queenie on a moonball.
Versus Ross, not this weekend.
Yeah, well, he throws moonballs.
I'll take it.
He throws them up to Pickens with no regard.
By the way, Pickens, I love.
He's a nut.
A lot of offensive pass interference with him.
Oh, yeah.
He tries to fight like the entire team.
I love this, dude.
He's nuts.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Listen, I appreciate what they are.
Eagles are a better team.
Oh, absolutely.
And that's not Homer or anything less.
100%.
All right, we got to take a quick.
break and then we're going to be joined by Zach Berman.

Zach Berman, live down at the Novacare Center.
Zach, what's up, buddy?
Happy pre- Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving to you guys.
I'm pretty envious of that roast pork in front of you right there.
Oh, dude, it's ridiculous.
Go, Zach.
Go, Zach.
Yeah.
Are you a long hot pepper guy?
You got the stove?
Yeah, you like the heat?
Well, as long as I have sharp herb alone, I'm good.
Okay.
You got taste.
Yeah.
So, Zach.
First of all, it was great to see Zach this morning.
We love you, buddy.
You was great seeing you, ma'am.
I appreciate it.
I appreciate it. Awesome being there. I wish I could have been there longer. I had to get here to see practice where I had to talk to Fangio and tell him more. We'll get to that. But on the practice field, Devante Smith not out there, Darius Lay, not out there. So those are kind of the two big things early in the week.
So, Zach, you've covered the Eagles for a long time, the Wednesday practice before the weekend. Would you say there's a chance either play or is this trending towards not playing in your history of dealing with the Eagles?
Yeah, I mean, sometimes they manage guys early in the week, given the fact that DeVante's injury was enough that it, you know, it kept them out last week.
I would be somewhat skeptical.
Now, we'll see tomorrow.
I'm not down here tomorrow.
They're closed for Thanksgiving.
I'll be on the practice field Friday, well, but better since then.
But I'm somewhat skeptical.
I wouldn't rule it out.
With Slay, it's a matter.
It's the concussion protocol.
So it's a little different there.
If he gets cleared, he'll play.
it's kind of worked both ways this year.
Reed Blankenship had a concussion.
He was back.
Other guys haven't been cleared in time.
You know,
if you remember Lane Johnson's concussion.
So that's really out of the Eagles hands.
It's the Devante Smith injury that's worth monitoring.
If I had to guess now, I would say no.
Z.B., we're talking a lot about what we are thankful today.
This Eagles team is providing a lot of fodder in that department for us.
One thing I'm thankful for, Brandon Graham.
What an eagle, man.
What a career.
Just a pleasure to root.
for that guy for the past 15 years.
Honestly, it's been amazing.
And what a bummer the other night.
Obviously, there's something about these games in Los Angeles,
these triumphant wins where there's always some rough injury at the end of it.
But, you know, as I pointed out the other night,
hopefully BG is Jason Peters carrying the Lombardi Trophy out of the locker room in New Orleans.
Anyway, Vic Fangio talked today.
Look, this is, you know, as much as I like the wax poetic about BG's career.
Like, this is a big loss for this current team.
He was playing fantastic football.
He's playing really a ton of snaps.
What did Vic Fangio say about the prospect of having to replace BG the rest of the year?
Yeah, you hit it on the head, Rich.
I mean, first off, Vic said that for one, he doesn't like the fact that Brandon Graham got hurt
on what could be his last year.
Two, he's a valuable locker room player.
But he said, most importantly, he was playing good football for them.
And it's going to be hard to replace him.
Obviously, they're already down Bryce up.
It's going to be a group, a group effort.
Really, the player, he said Joshua's playing time is not going to increase.
The snaps they have for Josh Swet is what they're comfortable with.
Nolan Smith, he can see Nolan Smith taking on more snaps.
He said he didn't know what to expect going into the year with Nolan Smith
because Smith didn't play really last year, but said that Smith has improved throughout the year.
He's going to take on a bigger role.
J. Alex Hunt.
when he was asked if Jay Alex Hunt's ready, he said,
we're about to find out, right?
Because his Jay Alex Hunt will step into that role.
Vic doesn't know as much about Charles Harris.
Didn't really watch much film on him.
Charles Harris is, you know, established veteran in this league,
first round pick in 2017.
He'll kind of be the fourth guy.
Vic poured some water on the idea that Milton Williams is going to slide over.
He said, you'll see it, but not a steady diet of it.
I asked about Zach Vaughn.
He said he doesn't really.
want to weaken two spots or affect two spots.
You know, you got to replace linebacker in that case.
Yeah, that makes sense, Zach, because I was wondering about, you and I talk about that,
about whether you would use Bond, which was originally what the role was supposed to be for him.
Sure.
But it doesn't mean, he's so good in that spot.
The guy that I want to see, I want to see Hunt.
I, because I saw a little bit out of him.
I think, I mean, he's the guy I think has.
the upside. You're right. And in Hunt's case, the length and the athleticism, that's apparent when
you're watching. He's, he's raw. You knew that when you took a guy from Texas Christian, or I'm sorry,
Texas Baptist or Houston, yeah, Houston Baptist. I'm conflating TCU and Houston Baptist. And so,
but I will say that the Eagles have been real impressed with him behind the scenes.
I talked to Hunt last week about kind of how on the outside, me here thinking this might be a red shirt year for him.
He said there's no such thing as a red shirt ear in the NFL is that he thought this was kind of the plan that he would take it slow and play more as the year progressed.
But now he's forced into it.
With Bryce Huff down and Graham out for the year, Hunt's that third guy.
He played 25 snaps on Sunday, career high for him.
And they were high leverage snaps too, right?
he's going to have to play considerably more going forward here, especially until Huff returns.
So, Zach, what other takeaways did you have from some from Vic and Kellan speaking today?
Anything jump out to you?
Yeah, so Lamar Jackson had a huge game against Kellynne Moore last year.
It was late December.
Oh, I'm sorry, not Kellynne Moore.
Against Vic Fangio last year.
He went 18 for 21 and three for five touchdowns.
And before that game, Vic Fangio was heeping praise onto Lamar Jackson said that he hasn't seen anyone like Lamar Jackson other than Michael Vic in terms of the ability to run the ball.
And then he said when you come, he passes.
He said the hardest quarterbacks to face, when you can't do just one thing to stop them.
And so he has, he thinks the world of Lamar Jackson.
He's seen it up close.
was asked if he kind of likes the challenge as a defensive play caller going up against a guy like
this. He says he would rather play Swarthmore. Now, Swarthmore hasn't had a football team since
2000. But nonetheless, this is going to be a real tough, tough to match up. And by the way,
when Lamar had that huge game against him last year, Lamar didn't have Derek Henry next to him.
Yeah. So the fact that you had Derek Henry in the running game, it really stood out like the
challenge that the Ravens present. That's that's that's one thing that I really jumped out there.
And speaking to, to Callan Moore, I mean, we know how good a receiver AJ Brown is, but it's the
yards after catch that jump out. And there's certain things that Helen Moore can do from a
play design perspective to get AJ Brown in the space, to get other guys blocking. That's,
that's going to be a big emphasis within. Hey, Zach, did you guys get Harbaugh today on the call?
No, no, I, I wish the head coaches don't do that anymore for the out of town.
Really?
Yeah, yeah.
Is that what happened in this country?
Yeah, so two years ago, they used to be on Wednesday.
I know.
Exactly.
They changed that role to the discretion of the coaches and no coach.
Yeah, no coach on still.
And even, you know, Doug Peterson turned us down this year, right?
You know, and he used to coach here.
So, yeah, so, you know, now it's, we.
we haven't had another coach all year this year.
So that's it.
Who's got it better than us?
That's not something that's the coaches too.
That sucks.
I got to tell you,
bad.
That's weak.
You know?
It is weak.
It's no coach.
You should say, yeah.
I mean, like, just right.
If you don't have to do it,
I'm going to do it.
Of course.
Leave it up to her distress.
Yeah.
Okay.
It's stupid.
Scratch my ass in my office.
Exactly.
Exactly.
And it was like that forever.
Every year you got the coach and a quarterback for,
for, for, for, or to call.
Uh,
because I was wondering if there was any update on
Roquant Smith. No, so my understanding is that I believe I saw Rochwan was practicing today,
even maybe on a limited basis. I think I saw that come across, but Van Ney was not out there.
I had to double check that. But yeah, no, you're right.
We left the game the other night. So, you know. Yeah. So, yeah, they, they, I used to talk to the
coach and the quarterback, look forward to it every Wednesday, like you said, during COVID,
they scale back the quarterback part of it. And,
Since then, they've left it up to the coach's discretion.
And there aren't that many coaches who are like, yeah, let's talk to the Out of the Town media.
Yeah, seriously.
Zach, what's your favorite pie?
My favorite pie?
That's a good question.
Well, like, thanks.
Kevin Pie or just pies in general.
I'm not saying about coaches and quarter-dives and Congress called.
What's your favorite pie?
So, Jack, we're a nickel-dine.
What's your favorite pie?
So here you go.
So if we're talking about like a meal, not like a dessert, a meal, I like a tomato pie, man.
I really like tomato pie.
That's not a traditional pie.
Yeah.
Okay.
But then when you're talking about a dessert pie, all right, if you go down to Louisville, Kentucky, they have, so they have a chocolate chest pie.
Oh, no, I'm sorry.
That's, that's Rowley, North Carolina, a chocolate chest pie.
Wow, you got good pie knowledge.
You're all over the map.
Yeah.
They have a derby pie.
Yeah, they have a derby pie, a derby pie in Louisville, Kentucky.
That's awesome.
And then in New Orleans, at a place called Camillia's Grill, they have a chocolate
pecan pie.
That is awesome.
So for dessert pies, that's the way to go.
When I covered the ACC, great pie.
Oh, man, I covered the ACC.
I used to meet like, I used to meet people out for, for dinner and
in Raleigh and Louisville, and they would always order these pies.
And so I'm well-versed.
I can tell you every barbecue place in the ACC.
You meet up with, you meet up with, like, coaches down there,
and, you know, they want to treat you to all the good delicacies.
That's fantastic.
That's absolutely fantastic.
He's the best.
Throw us off all to him.
He'll knock it out of the park.
Yeah, that's great.
We love you, buddy.
Zach, to the Berman family, I know there's many of you and brothers and
sisters, to everybody associated with the Berman's in-laws and all that. I hope everybody has a
awesome Thanksgiving. You do a tremendous job. And I know for everybody here at P.H.L.Y,
we are thankful for you, buddy. I appreciate it. Same do, guys. Real quick, my in-laws, by chance,
we're having lunch today at the terminal. I was going to ask you, were there relatives there?
Because a guy says, my in-laws. I was on the air, and a guy goes, Zach Berman. I go, love Zach
I almost be your father-in-law.
Yeah, that was my father-in-law.
He said, he hopes he doesn't think that he thought that he thought that was Zach.
It said, no, no, no, no, I'll say.
But yeah, so my in-laws were there.
They were so excited to see P.H.O.I. out in the while.
That was fantastic.
Happy Thanksgiving to everybody.
And I can't, I can't wait for the Friday, what, December 19th to be in the end of the
tournament for our show.
Looking forward to it.
Yeah, it's going to be a blast.
Yeah, Friday, December 20th.
One.
Yeah.
Good stuff, brother.
You're the best man.
Let's get Vinny on here.
He actually knows what he's talking about.
I want to hear of Vinny.
Yeah, that's why I'm kicking you off because Vinny's in the ways.
Oh, Vinny's in the way.
Yeah.
Why do you want to talk to Vinny or you got a beer?
No, I love Vinny.
I love Vinny.
You know, of course I'm drinking.
He got cousin.
Joey and two.
Everybody had the bar away for you.
But also, also, Devon came over.
I know.
Like, I mean, we should.
They got pre and post tonight, Rich and Devon.
I mean, the fact that my man would come over.
You don't have to be here right now.
He's the best.
He's the Aces.
Yeah, he's the best.
He's Devon.
I want to say, like, you got to, you got to come on.
So if you step out, maybe Devon steps in with Vinny.
Yeah.
Let me just say a little of Vinny.
Yeah, yeah.
Let's take a, let's embarrass some business before we get to Vinny.
And tell you about our friends here at PHLY.
Rich's newsletter is the best.
It is.
Everybody should read it.
Must read in the morning.
He goes above and bum.
God, I messed that up.

out of question.
He's a contractor.
He uses Aceh.
Of course he does.
I know these home services.
Yeah, and now those same trusted pros that you know and love in the store,

to the neighborhood bar and meet up with your
friends from from high school or growing up and what better way to do that than with a nice
miller light you can do that all the way into this weekend when we're at garage in fish town get a
nice miller light day or sponsoring that as well jamie a lot has changed over the years one thing that
hasn't the great taste of miller light has been there for well you know basically as long as i've been
around and it's still going strong still my late domestic of choice at the bar another thing that
has not changed is that it's less filling so what is
the best thing about the original light beer.
And by the best thing, I could just say that Miller Light
is what I could say about any beer, Jamie.
It just goes down smooth.
It's cold.
Cold, smooth.
Come on.
That's a classic.
I might get one the night.
But you could drink, like, tomorrow, you're eating a lot.
You don't want to say.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Perfect turkey day beer.
Yeah, yeah.
Help wash down all the turkey.
Yeah, you get tried.
A nice cold Miller Light.
It's only 96 calories, a beer that strips away everything you need and holds on to what matters most.
Great taste, less filling, as you see on the commercials.
It is both.
You don't have to choose what's best.
Miller Light has great taste and is less filling.
Tastes like Miller Time to get Miller Lite delivered right to your door.
Visit millerlight.com slash p.h-l-Y birds, or you can find it pretty much anywhere that sells beer.
That's the beauty.
Celebrate responsibly.
Miller Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
ounces 96 calories per 12 ounces fewer cows and carbs than premium regular beer all right he's waiting
in the wings we got to bring him into the show he is a super bowl champion he's a eagle legend
he is mr viny curry what up viny no viz what's up what's tough fellas is going on man
i think god'sgiving brother how y'all doing my man the best right there i appreciate it man
how y'all doing y'all you're ready for your voice your voice sounds right
rehab since Sunday.
Oh,
oh,
we're definitely rehab.
And it's just,
this week matchup got me so excited.
I'm probably going to lose it again during the game,
but I'm so excited for this week's matchup.
You have no idea.
It feels like a playoff game.
Well, Vinnie,
your boy say,
Kwan,
just got named NFC offensive player of the week,
as that was no surprise to anyone out there that has eyeballs.
This dude is just ridiculous.
And do you recall seeing anyone like him, Vinnie?
Like, does anybody come to mind that's a fair comp to you
with what we're seeing out of him?
You know what?
Man, I think he's just, he's in a class of his own, man.
Like, you know, the closest thing that, you know, from,
you could compare him to just from highlights, though, just from highlights.
It's sweet pee.
You know what I mean?
The way he can, he's so explosive, so shaky.
You never, he's never knocked down, you know, always trying to make,
Nothing out of something.
You know what I mean?
Something out of nothing.
You know what I mean?
It's just very explosive.
And I'm excited for this week, man.
Vinny, how about that cut he made on the touchdown, the first play of the second half, right?
He gets...
You see the hand go up like this?
Yeah.
You told me what the one in the head went up, right?
Yeah.
Yo, that was crazy.
I mean...
No, that was crazy.
It's just crazy to me that he makes this cut where he's literally making a jump cut side to side.
He doesn't lose any speed.
And I think that's pretty rare, right?
Bro, you know, the Eagles right now has a whole team, or in sync.
Or in think, you watch the dominant performance they put out there this past weekend.
And you just watch the body language on offense and defense.
It was like, yo, did they go?
That's what we've been looking for.
And that's what we're getting.
And that's why this game this weekend is so important.
So Vinnie, Vic Fangio just spoke today and he said, no, Brandon Graham can't be done.
He was playing too good of football.
When pressed, did he tell him that yet?
He said, no, not yet, but I'm going to.
Tell us Eagles fans, we haven't seen the last of BG, right?
He was playing too good.
You can't go out like this.
Oh, you definitely haven't seen the last of him.
Do like Wolverine, man.
Like Deadpool.
It's going to take more than that to get rid of that guy.
absolutely and his daughter's doing a game or a hosting a show down there at the nova care
emerson graham might be coming for all of her jobs here viny this long look longer hard at me
so vizney obviously big holiday week schedules kind of thrown off a little bit here with
thanksgiving i know the eagle the birds still put in their work what was that what was the holiday
week like for you guys in the locker room how hard is it to kind of focus when you have
have, you know, turkey's being cooked at home and friends and family all around and coming out.
What's a holiday week like in NFL player land?
Well, first things first, you know, everything is to get moved up earlier.
You know, you probably cut out the lifting time a little bit, but you still got to have those meetings.
You guys still have those meetings.
You still have the film session and then the practice.
But certain little other things have to get cut out because, you know,
bump it up earlier, get things done earlier.
They probably practice first.
You go, I reverse schedule.
That's what we used to do. Practice first.
It didn't do the meetings after they didn't go home.
You mentioned that the entire team is in sync right now, completely agree with that.
You mentioned on the post game show, though, I think you were the first one that called it out.
You know, why was the team getting pressure?
And you were like, well, they're doubling Jalen Carter and the other guys getting one-on-ones and they're winning those.
Do you think that, I mean, that seems like that's just going to be.
the formula moving forward, right?
Well, you know, I happen to know a guy
that you should try to double team a lot like that, you know,
and when he demanded the double team, you had to win your one-on-one.
You know, you don't want to be the guy not winning your one-on-one
come Tuesday, I mean, come Monday morning, you know, in that film session.
And if you go back a week's prior, remember,
there wasn't winning a 101 the way they're winning it now.
And I think it lit a fire under them.
And then now you've seen guys dominate and win they one-on-ones,
which is going to create more opportunity for Jen and Carter.
And real quick, I know we usually ask you about defensive line questions,
but, you know, on some of these Sequin runs, man,
he is getting free to the second level.
And obviously he's making some crazy moves.
It's not, you know, I don't want to take away anything from him
because, you know, busting a 70-yard run in the NFL doing it five times this year,
that's not easy to do.
but it does seem like that offensive line, the tight ends, even the receivers on some of these plays,
it seems like they're very in sync in terms of what they're trying to do,
getting the right double teams, those things.
Are you seeing that as well?
Man, you know, yeah.
Now, I remember, Rod, so remember when we first started this thing?
I said, one of the biggest, one of the biggest guys that's the signing as a sleeper is big ticket.
Big ticket is, you know, at him where, you know, join.
and laying those guys and Atlanta, like he fits right in.
It's like he's been there.
And he has made his stuff some money this year.
Yes, yeah.
And having to take one?
Doing what he doing?
Oh, my God.
Like, this matchup against that defensive line down there in Baltimore
is going to be the one we all want to see.
And then, looking at where you are late in the season with this team
and everything working in sync,
all the things that you just laid out to the guys
and talking about it on postgame as well.
How important is it or how much does it work in your favor?
As much as you love traveling and get it on an airplane,
that over the final six weeks that you no longer have to get on an airplane,
everything is out of the bus train,
and certainly you would love to have everything go through Philadelphia in the postseason.
How important is that where you don't have to add that part,
cutting away the weights and certain things goes away.
You add that to it.
Recovery. Recovery.
That's number one thing is recovery.
You have more time to recover.
You know, you could actually be in Novocare a little longer,
you know, not worry about the planes and, you know,
the pressure from the plane of you might have a nag and stuff,
get a little swollen on the plane and stuff like that.
The recovery time is very, very important, you know,
especially if these guys can pull it out and get that by.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That'd be huge.
So, Vinnie.
So big language there.
Yeah.
Right, right.
Vinny, explain to us lay people,
from the eyes of an NFL player.
How scary is it to go against Lamar Jackson?
You can be honest with us.
It's got to be a little bit daunting, right?
Yeah.
I remember when Chris Paul was trying to go to the Lakers.
Yeah.
They should have that same thing.
They should have did that when Derek Henry was trying to go to Baltimore.
I was like, like, what it was saying.
You know?
You know, having him and Lamar Jackson there was like, wow, you know, like wow, wow.
And Lamar, man, he's just a talent.
You know, we thought we saw it all, you know, we had the Michael Vick come through.
Yeah, Vic had his era.
We had seen a lot of couple of running quarterbacks, you know,
Calumari is doing a good job this season.
Cam Newin, Jalen.
Like, we see a lot of guys, but Lamar Jackson,
He, at any given time, he can hit home run.
So what's Noah Curry doing this weekend?
His two favorite players, I believe, are Jalen Hertz and Lamar Jackson.
What's, uh, what's, what's young Noah cheering for this weekend, Vinnie?
I told him, man, you know, if it ain't a eagle, you're going to get out.
You'll be watching it outside.
No, but he's excited for the game.
He's just excited, you know, he, he asked me all the time like that.
Who's better?
Derek Henry or Sequin Barkley
Hey, you know, it was better.
Jay Lina, listen, I say,
yo, we're going to see you on Sunday.
You know what's the like to try to take down
somebody that size that's built
like a transformer and you've got to try to
take him down and you look across and you're like
dude is supposed to be on our side on the line
not running the football. What's like to try to
slow that guy then?
You know what? It's crazy.
It's just
it's mind-blown at, you know,
because let's be honest, that dude is a, he's a
too now. He's just not like, you know, we usually back that guy, that size you want to run you over, you know, and be a pound of a ground and pound guy.
He is elusive. And he got moves, man. And he got a mean stiff arm. Man, he didn't he go. He went viral. Remember that time he went viral in college?
He gave somebody, oh, you know, but it's crazy, man. Like, this is, this is one of those games. I've told you when I first came on the show, this feels like a playoff game.
Yeah, have you ever looked up Derek Henry's high school stats, Vinnie?
If you have it.
That looks fake.
Yeah, I saw that.
Dude, it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life.
I saw that.
I'm like, man, that looks fake.
You know, it's crazy.
I actually see a couple of highlights.
He was bigger than the whole damn team.
Great.
So Vinnie, what is the Curry family doing tomorrow?
Are you hosting, you traveling?
What's your favorite thing on the table tomorrow?
I think we're going to be traveling a little bit.
I think they're going to be a taste test of tomorrow.
You know, a little family over here, a little family over there, a little bit of my wife's family over there.
We're going to be traveling tomorrow.
And what's your favorite thing on the table?
Well, hopefully somebody got some nice, warm apple pie and ice cream.
I like pumpkin pie.
But my favorite, favorite thing,
The You know, Thanksgiving is some warm banana pudding.
Oh, that's a lot.
I didn't see that one coming.
That's a wild card right there.
Yeah, I'm out.
Yeah, I'm out.
I'm out.
I'm out on the banana pudding.
No, you don't like banana pudding?
No, I don't.
No, I don't.
Man, with the cookies in it?
The no way.
I know.
In my house, they were made all the time,
and I'd still, they were made the best,
but I still wouldn't.
Everybody loved it, but I could not get down with it.
I just couldn't do it.
Vinny,
last year when we were here,
Baldy was here and Baldy was crushing some banana pudding, man.
He was telling us where the bananas come from.
It was, wow, it was unbelievable.
Anyway, I'm with you.
I love banana pudding, too.
Man, it makes the whole, it makes it.
Oh, it's crazy.
So my assistant loves the one here.
Oh, the Nina.
Yeah, Nina came by.
Yeah, yeah.
And VG's eyes rolled into the back of his head.
And so I stopped over there and they were sold out.
So you know how good it is.
And, of course, then I'm sure they'll be on somebody's table tomorrow as you just laid.
Listen, don't don't be afraid to put me a little plate and put it in the refrigerator.
So I'll eat that on Sunday.
Gotcha.
Yeah, we will, Ben.
All right, so before we let you get out of here for the holiday,
what is your official prediction?
Eagles, Ravens, the Bird Bowl in Baltimore on Sunday.
What do you got?
Oh, man.
It's like one of the top Russian officers versus the one of the top Russian defenses.
Yeah.
The way we're rolling right now, I'm going to go 1720.
Eagles.
Ah, yeah.
This is going to be a great game, a great task for the birds this weekend.
Vinny, on behalf of all of us here at PHLY, we're thankful.
We can call you a coworker and a friend now to all the curries and extended family.
we wish you the best of Thanksgiving's brother.
Man, thank you all.
You're listening.
Y'all enjoy y'all.
We can y'all be safe and try not to drink too much beer.
I make no promises there.
All right.
All right, guys.
Thanks.
He is the best.
Vinnie Curry.
Devon Givins with us.
Hello.
You were here, but officially I get to introduce you now.
Yes, I'm here.
What's up, man?
Oh, it's good, man.
I'm late, but I'm here.
You guys, you're early.
You and Rich have free and post tonight.
Back at the studio tonight, 630.
Yesterday I was saying it was a,
I thought it was a 7.30 game for whatever reason
against the Houston Rockets, but it's the 7 o'clock game.
I agree with you, yes.
But, yeah, so we get started at 6.30.
We need to be hanging around there too long.
No, no, we don't.
No, especially I was coming down.
But join us.
Kelly Drive.
Anyway, please do.
While you're preparing your meals tonight,
make sure you join us at 630 and then post game.
But I was driving down Kelly Drive,
and, of course, it gets cut off right at the art museum.
Yeah.
And you know what that's going to be like already.
The big Thanksgiving Day parade tomorrow.
I had to do those for four years.
My daughter went to Kappa, creative and performing arts.
Oh, yeah, great school.
So she was on the dance side.
And so I had to, we would have to be up at like three in the morning,
get her down there at no later than 5 a.m.
And then we would take the chance of, do we go home?
Yeah.
You know, because there's no parking.
So do you go home?
and if you go home and you're stuck now trying to find parking when you come back down there.
So I'm all too familiar with it.
And I'm so glad.
I'm so happy that she's graduated.
And we don't have to deal with that anymore.
But tonight, I'll be doing Kelly Drive going back home.
And you'll be thinking about it.
I'll be thinking about it.
Yeah.
We're running this in about those days.
A few years ago, I was going the other direction a few hours later.
Exactly.
Exactly.
Right.
Yeah, man.
So, Devon, we're just kind of talking about how thankful we are for the Eagles right now.
turnaround they've made.
Oh, we are really thankful.
Yeah.
Having a deal with the Sixers and what's going on with them.
We are really thankful.
But no, you're right, man, because getting off to that, the start that they did and looking
at the bye week and I was one of them.
Sure.
Yerani going to get canned.
I fired him last offseason.
I apologize.
They don't get fired in the offseason in Eagle World, but it was a question and it was
a real question.
And I actually thought that that was something if they didn't win that game going
into the by week, that that might have been done.
But here we are, man.
and they've won the consecutive games at nine and two.
And the only reason they're not number one is because Detroit is so good.
Yeah, they're a machine.
That they are right there at the top.
And they should be.
And that's, but for the Eagles to turn around the way that they have.
And two weeks ago, when Seekwon did this again with what he normally does,
you guys know how to tweet often.
I tweet when I feel like tweeting.
But I had to after the one game where he scored and he had one of those long runs.
And I'm like, I just can't believe that we're 11 weeks in.
I've seen him do this every game throughout the season,
and he's still doing it, and he's wearing Eagles green.
So I texted Rich last night before the show,
and I was like, hey, the show sheet's updated.
I just kind of want to do some like, what are we thankful for?
And Rich, I think your answer was the best,
and you just said right away, Joe Shane.
Yes.
Thank you, Joe Shane.
Yes.
And I'm thankful for the HBO original series Hard Knocks.
Thank you for capturing that.
The offseason with the New York Giants.
I am very thankful.
I enjoyed it while I was watching it in the summer.
I did not realize it would become like a piece of like.
Isn't that far?
Especially when it looked like it was going to be Chicago
because you would get those reports of,
oh, the bears are going to swoop in there and get them instead
and they got the rookies and then one overall pick.
DJ Moore is there.
The offensive line is improved.
The screenshot of John Barrett.
That's a meme.
That's a meaningful.
Oh, my God.
But it was the best wasn't, he was like,
if he goes to Philadelphia, I don't think I'll be too happy.
Well, Mr. Mara, happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
And thank you to the New York Giants.
Thank you.
For letting Joe stay in that job for as long as he did to screw it up the way that he did.
And now his quarterback is going to Minnesota.
So how about that?
What an absolute dumbest.
And his quarterback for a second straight Thanksgiving is Tommy Cuthlets.
And Tommy Cullen is getting benched for Drew Locke.
It's real sad times.
Did that happen already?
Last week in the game.
I don't even know.
I don't even know because they're so irrelevant now.
But imagine letting that guy go.
Good for them.
Yeah.
E.J. Brown, who might be the best wide receiver in the world, you can make the case,
and stop three or four.
Right.
He's on the sidelines telling Seekwan Barclay, dude, you're the greatest football player
on the planet.
Yeah, he's like, I can see it.
You have it.
Normally, I think I'm the best.
You got it.
It's all right.
250 yards rushing.
You got it.
I had a theory, too, because, you know, in past years, and look, this was such a small
part of it is that AJ wasn't always the greatest blocker.
You know, some, you know, a friend or somebody put on the film, they'd be like,
you know, if he was a little more engaged there, that might be a 25-yard run instead
of a 15-yard run.
Man, he threw some good blocks on the, the Sequin runs.
And I wonder if it's just like, man, this is just like game respects game.
Like, I got a block for this guy.
Yeah.
Like he actually, like, if I block for him, it's not, you know, the difference between 10
and 20 yards.
It's a difference between 10 and 70 yards and a touchdown.
It's like, and we're walking off the field.
Whoever was going to stuff the ball out by half court, it's like, well, he might make it, you know?
Like maybe just give him the ball out there.
And it's like with Saquan, anytime as he runs, it could be a home run.
Yeah.
I think a big part of that, too, is when not only the video coming out saying that he is the best in the world at what he does,
Vinny mentioned Jalen Hertz putting his hand up, number one.
AJ Brown ran down the field.
Yeah.
He was already on like the third level.
The defenders had basically given up.
AJ Brown said, no, I'm following you into the end zone because he's enjoying the show just like,
just like everybody else and recognizing real recognizing real and how good it is that used to be a kelsey
it's still a lane thing those guys like celebrating the end zone they especially like celebrating a running
touchdown you know where the big guys we're like i don't know that he's doing ever miles sanders and
maybe dandre swift because that was a little bit different i don't know but i don't remember seeing it
was he doing was he doing the ticot dances with them i don't know he wasn't no he wasn't
calcy did the little uzi dancing yeah yeah that was pretty much championship that's pretty cool
I wish Miles would recognize it, but he didn't.
Yeah, he did not.
He didn't acknowledge it.
You know, we're talking about things we're thankful for with this team,
and I think it ultimately falls back on Jeffrey Lurie.
You know, when you look across the town right now,
I think with John Middleton and Jeffrey Lurie,
you absolutely have two of the best owners in sports.
Oh, yeah.
And guys that will do anything to help this club.
And if that means dumping extra money into a signing bonus to get guys here,
you know, standing by his guys,
getting rid of others.
Like, he does whatever is required to make the Eagles relevant and great.
And this Thanksgiving, I'm really just like, man, Jeffrey Lurie, you are one of the best, like, acquisitions Philadelphia sports has ever had.
And just compare him to the other owners in the division right now.
You have John Mara, who we just made fun of for three minutes because what is you doing?
It's fun.
Yeah.
What is he doing?
Jerry Jones, who I'm not totally convinced is going to fire.
He's a son-downers?
I doubt he might put.
But I'm not totally convinced he's going to fire.
No, please don't.
Yeah, it's unbelievable.
Keep him.
And our friend, Shil Kapadia, he made a good point a few weeks ago on this.
He was the first one, so I'm going to give him credit on this.
He's like, look, man, it's not about whether you're a great coach when you're the Dallas Cowboys coach.
It's, are you willing to put up with Jerry Jones being the face of the franchise?
Are you willing to put up with his eight radio hits a week?
Are you willing to put up with him just talking right after the game, which, by the way, I think it's, on one.
On one on one sense I think is like that's kind of cool at least because like I don't know,
media and the way these teams deal with us now, they're so buttoned up.
On the other hand, like Jerry is like acting a fool after these games, right?
And so you have to be able to put up with that.
And it's clear that Mike McCarthy for whatever coach or for whatever faults he has as a coach,
he put up with it, right?
You know, there was rumors that Belichick would go there in this offseason.
He wouldn't put up with it.
He wouldn't be a good fit.
Now he might not get on Sanders put up with it.
Uh, you might, yeah.
You know, like, if should do it, but for how long?
But for how long?
That's the question.
How long will they put up with it?
Well, because remember when Bill Parsely, that was the rule of, the, the rumor was Bill
Parcells after while he knew going in, he was like, I'm not doing this.
This is not happening.
And I think if you look at Bellichick coming from that tree of Bell Parcells, he can't
hand.
He can't deal with that.
No.
No, because he's, I'm not doing that.
And so I could see that.
But no, thankful for the owners.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And when you, when you say.
Who.
Who would have thought we've ever been thankful for the owners?
But when you look around the landscape of sports,
we're very lucky to have Jeffrey Lurie and John Middleton.
The other two, I'll just back off.
And the Union order, I think it's the worst one.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, not good.
He's terrible.
Yeah, it's incredible.
You mentioned Dion too.
I actually think Jerry would be willing to, or sorry,
Dion would be willing to put up with Jerry?
Be like, that's fine.
I'll just do my thing to the side of that.
Would Jerry be willing to put up with Dion?
That's a good question.
clearly would be kind of the center of attention,
taking the national media attention.
I don't know.
But anyway, he's not the Eagles owner.
Jeffrey Lurie is.
Jeffrey Lurie spends more on the team.
Jeffrey Lurie puts up curtains in the stadium if you need to.
It doesn't actually need to.
But what do we think about the other owner?
He owns a team locally.
And that's Mr. Josh Harris.
His partner, Magic Johnson,
all that guy does is win.
And the Dodgers go out again and make a big splash last night.
What do we think year one,
Josh Harris ownership of the commanders?
Well, considering where they were.
They're on the right track, right?
Considering where they were with Dan Snyder, when you speak about owners and former owners,
yeah, for whatever you feel about Josh Harris and where the Washington football team is right now,
that's, they've done a pretty good job.
It seemed like they hit on the quarterback.
Who is, how you pronounce, Joe Shane?
Joe Shane, yeah.
He should have listened to his son and drafted the quarterback.
He did not.
The Washington football team did, and they are in a really good position right now.
They have a nice young running back if he can stay healthy.
And Robinson, of course, Terry McLaren is a,
a really good number one wide receiver and their defenses is a little bit underrated for
what they have done. So yeah, Josh Harris, while things are not working here, I think he does a
good job of removing himself and just like let's spend money. Yes, he will spend money and he lets
the people do what they do. All right, that's going to do it for us here today at Reading Terminal
