PHLY Philadelphia Eagles Podcast - The Blitz is coming: How will Jalen Hurts, Eagles offense handle the heat from Brian Flores?
Episode Date: October 16, 2025Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are always blitzed at a high rate, which will no doubt continue with Brian Flores dialing up a gametime to mess with Hurts, the rest of the offensive line and Saquon Barkley... as A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith look to get the offense on track. On the other side of the ball, how will Vic Fangio handle an injured group as he attacks either Carson Wentz or J.J. McCarthy? Fran Duffy breaks down the matchup with EJ Smith and Bo Wulf as they welcome in a special guest and unveil the show’s new full-time producer. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Hi from the Xfinity studio.
This is the P.H.O.I. Eagles podcast presented by Bet365 and Ashley.
Bo Wolf.
Fran Duffing to my left.
E.J. Smith over there in an empty chair.
We'll see who fills that as the show goes on.
Fran, how are you, my friend?
Doing great.
Yeah, it's a little chilling, feeling like football weather outside.
Yeah, I agree with that.
We got the flannels on, E.J.
Had a nice breakfast this morning.
How you do it?
Got your hard hat on and your flannels.
Yeah.
It's a blue collar show.
You know that I love a fall outfit.
I've been pretty clear about that.
Mr. Fall man.
Did you get breakfast delivered here this one?
What did you take?
What would you take there?
Because the breakfast didn't come at the expense of my time with my colleagues like it did yesterday.
So I stand by it.
I stand by it.
I feel good about that decision.
What did you think of this?
I was actually fine with it.
Oh, that shocks me.
That shocks me.
That shocks me.
That one.
I got what he was thrown down.
Okay. Did you like the jab? I said like a, you know, Bo inserted himself in my conversation with handsome rich.
I enjoyed that. Yeah. Yeah. That was good. And then you ended the show in the chat with a very nice
joke. Ah, thank you. Yes. Everybody's worried about Julia. Everybody in the chat is like, where is Julia going?
What did you do to her? All of that stuff. Julie's, Julia's still here. Right? For now.
Julia, we need Julia to have time
To be the head of production as well
So we have a new Eagles producer
Who we are excited to introduce you to
Working behind the scenes with Julia
Learning the ropes
Of how things work behind the scenes
And eventually we'll bring somebody on
To join
Do you want me to give them
Yeah, why not?
Listen, Eagles Vikings, very interesting matchup
And the extra time off
For the Eagles
I'm it's very curious
to see how they play it.
What did the guys in the locker room say yesterday, E.J.?
Yeah, so I definitely felt like there was maybe a repackaging of a message we've heard a few times this season,
but really a team that wants to quote unquote punch first is what we heard a lot.
And, you know, Jordan Milata said that they want to be the aggressor.
They have to punch first.
Jordan Milana also had an interesting quote about a lack of detail.
We've got it up here.
He said that you could tell by it on the tape.
that, you know, that there were times where the Eagles just lacked detail and that, you know,
lacked sort of a focus in what they were doing. And I asked him, like, as a leader, how do you
address that? No, no, no, no. We'll introduce him. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. So,
finish talking about Milana. Well, okay. Yeah. So I said, how do you address, you know, a lack of focus
when you see it on the tape? And he says, do your effing job. I got to do my job. They got to do
their job. Everybody has there has to do their job. That's why the little mini by week that we had,
it was do your job. Like that was the message. Didn't look at anything else. Just dominate your box
and everything will take care of itself. If everyone can do that, that's the message. So found that
interesting. You didn't necessarily love this, Fran. But yeah, I mean, I didn't hear the quote.
So like context of it. I think there certainly matters. I do think that if they had this big,
like, you know, this big meeting and the general takeaway coming out of that meeting,
is, hey, we're all going to stay in our lane
and everybody do your job and, like, keep our head down
and go to work.
That could be perceived, like, as, like, not a great outcome either.
You know, I don't think that's like a come-together message.
I think that's like, hey, let's everybody, like,
drop the stuff that's been bothering us and move forward and do our job
and it'll take care of itself.
But look, at the end of the day, like, no matter how this meeting went on Monday
or it was Monday, right?
It was Monday, yes.
And there definitely is, like, mixed messaging on, like,
the significance of it.
Yeah.
I mean, and I think it's fair.
I think like it almost feels like the team is trying to wheel this inflection point because
they have had those.
Like if they win the game, everyone's going to talk about how good that meeting was.
If the, if the meeting went terribly, but then they win by 25 points this week, that doesn't matter.
Right.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's get to it.
He's waiting in the wings.
Chomping at the bit.
Champing at the bit.
Welcome to the show.
Sitting down for the first time with PHLY.
Ladies and gentlemen, Cliffie, too.
Are we going to have watching out of these?
You got the hoodie?
Yeah.
I got some PHOY swag for you.
Oh.
I know you're a flyers, guys.
Here we go.
This is like the most Cliff thing ever.
Like he gets here and like we have to like reel him back in because he's just a social butterfly.
Just like talking to people.
It's like, come on.
What do you think of the stairs, Cliff?
What did you think of the stairs?
Yo, that is crazy.
I got to do that every day.
That is insane.
man. I woke up the steps. I was like, yo, this is your exercise for the day.
That is a workout in itself, bro. It makes you think about not leaving the house.
Well, I can be outside. I'm going to be in the crib.
No, no. Be outside. Man, I'll be in the house, man. I'll be chilling, man.
I'm going on. Man, what's going on?
Oh, man, it's good to have you here. It's good to have you. I miss hearing you on the podcast.
No, man. I've been seeing you. I listen to you on the podcast. But you know, that's a good segue.
because maybe we'll talk about how much you might miss me.
I'm going to introduce.
Well, yeah, EJ has come up with a very good idea because we're like, what do we want to talk to Cliff about?
We want to get to some Eagles stuff.
We want to get to some non-Eagle stuff, obviously.
So E.J. had a very good idea, and I think it's very original.
E.J. has come up with the E.J. 11.
So he's come up with 11 questions for you.
I think I'm going to trademark it.
You know, it's 11 topics.
You don't know what you're going to get.
It's a little bit of nonsense.
See, folks, man.
It's a little bit of sex talk.
Just to control himself, just the EJ, man.
Come on, bro.
What are you doing?
All right, give me one of them.
Give me number seven.
No, hold on.
Let me, you're not familiar with the format of this.
I'm not.
I got to explain the EJ. 11 to you.
You're going to pick the numbers.
And then I'm going to give you and I'm not going to, you know,
I've predetermined the numbers here.
You're going to pick the numbers and I'm going to give you the entry for each number here.
So, and, you know, you can keep you.
track of it on yourself if you want but i'm gonna keep track of it as the host you know my job is the
host i have any i don't have any papers or pens or anything so you i'll keep track for you all right
so thank you so you just give me give me a number here we'll see what i'll see what are seven he said
nah let me let me let's go uh three let's go a all right we're gonna go three yeah if nick syriani
calls you and asks you to come speak to the team yeah which players do you want to meet with
and what are you going to tell them oh that's a good question which players don't want to meet with
Well, it would have been to Zedarese Smith to ask how he got cashed all, but that's out of the way now.
Damn, I would say, what I want to talk to?
I'd probably say, AJ.
How many players can I pick?
You can pick as many.
Do you?
Okay.
I'd probably say AJ.
I'd probably say Jalen Carter.
And I'd probably say Dory Jackson.
Oh, interesting.
Yeah.
I have a good conversation with Adory Jackson.
What you said to him?
I'm going to save that for my locker room notes on Friday.
Oh, there you go.
I like that.
You can become a diehard.
You got to read that.
Yeah.
Well, to AJ, I'll just tell him, you know, just chill out.
You know what I'm saying?
The ball's going to come your way eventually.
Yeah.
You know, just chill out.
To Jalen Carter, also him.
You got, you got to chill out a little bit, you know, you can't be spitting on players.
You can't be spitting on people.
Now, have you called him a D1 crash out before?
I feel like.
No.
No.
No.
Okay.
I don't think it was him.
I feel like maybe.
I'll probably forget.
Maybe it could have been him, maybe, probably, possibly.
And Dorrie Jackson, you got to pick it up.
You're looking bad out there.
We need to.
We got to pick it up.
Dory Jackson,
those probably be the three people that I would talk to with Dory,
AJ, and Jalen Carter.
I think people don't know.
You and Fran,
you and Frank go back.
Well, it's not that we go back.
We grew up in the same area.
Yeah, we grew up in the same area.
We got a lot of mutuals.
Fran went to the rival high school.
I grew up on the other side of the track.
So, you know, Fran grew up on the nice part.
I grew up on the other side of the tracks.
It's not too crazy.
Rest of peace, Franks piece, right?
Yes, exactly.
All right.
Let's go back a little bit.
What's your next number?
Yeah, give me a number.
Let's go one.
Let's go general hers.
All right.
This is a big picture question for you.
Let's see.
The Cliffy 2 temperature check is what we're going to call.
You know, I actually want brand on this week, too.
Scale of 1 to 10.
How confident are you about the Eagles turning this around?
Ooh.
I'll give it like,
five right now just because this week could be real disastrous that they lose three in a row
then it's like all right where do you go from here especially if you lose in an ugly fashion like
you did to the giants things look bad the defense looks bad the offense looks bad and on the
flip side of that it could be all right well you know you win the game you win it in good fashion
you go out there you beat the vikings you beat carson wince and the season turns around from there
and then you got the giants at home and you got a buy week so i would say i'm like right in the
middle like it's just could go either or like yeah it's pretty scary actually yeah the eagles have not
lost three straight games since 2023.
They did that twice.
It was the run that went into the playoffs,
but also that 49ers lost that kind of spiraled into that Seahawks loss.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think, I think this, in a while.
This could be like the most pivotal week in Eagles football in a long, long time,
in a year at least.
Define, turn it around.
I mean, write the ship and play to the expectation you had before the season.
Get back on track to be a double-digit win team that is a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
um
seven eight
like i think they still very well they very well could do it
could definitely go the other way
okay well how about
don't lose three straight then
well then you get into the matchup
yeah we got we got a lot to talk about
with that one um
wait this is this is a tough
this is a tough one man yeah
too small
this is eggs up yeah
this is cameron Citas
it's like a shmedium
What are I going to do with this?
I don't know if that's what we got.
No, I like it though.
This is fine.
I do like it.
It's a good shirt.
Yeah, very good shirt.
I don't feel great about this weekend.
Okay.
Sunday's going to be a very tough matchup for this game.
Well, that's the thing is there's a difference between like getting to the level they got to last year versus getting to like, okay, what's an acceptable level for you won the Super Bowl.
You know that there are a bunch of things that are going to regress the next year.
you know, would the city be happy with a division title and, you know,
a loss in the division round or whatever?
But the problem is, given the expectations,
if the locker room knows that they're not playing to like last year's level,
does that then exacerbate whatever bad stuff there is going on?
And so there, it does feel like there is a chance that stuff starts rolling downhill.
Yeah, no, I think that that's, to me, like the matchup is separate to,
like, obviously the Eagles could play better and probably still lose this game because
of how hard of a matchup it is, like some of the things the Vikings do schematically that we'll
talk about later. But it's also like a really important test of like how the Eagles handle adversity
this week. You know, I think the Giants game was an early test of that. It obviously was a
concerning result. But I do think that there is a lot to learn about how this team kind of handles.
I mean, we talked about it with Mina. Like there are no perfect teams in the league. Like each team
is going through adversity. I think a big part of it is going to be which teams navigate this
difficult stretch well season. And I think that this Sunday will be big for that.
I'm with Cliff. I think it's an important, important game, an important stretch for this team.
Look at your own chat. I like this.
Read all the comments.
Where's the team swole?
Where's like the, uh, that?
Don't I have like a super chat thing?
Well, yeah, people got to pay up for the superchats.
See, this is why Cliff is the ace producer.
It's like he's all, he's already thinking of the content.
How do you delineate it?
What's the regular?
They got to pay money.
You'll see.
You'll be highlighted.
Somebody do a super chat so Cliff can see it.
Well, that's the guy.
All right, let's get to one more question before we go to our next break.
All right, Cliff, give me another number.
So I picked one three.
You got one and three.
You've already done one and three.
Let's go five.
Let's go McNode.
Okay.
How, this is a nonsense question.
I'm glad we got a little less in here.
How long is the appropriate window to bring your trash cans back from the curb?
I heard you guys talk about this on a recent ringers Philly special.
Yeah.
And I just, I want, you didn't, you didn't weigh in on it.
And I need to know.
Well, first of all, I live in a city.
So, like, I don't have a trash can.
I don't have trash cans.
I don't have trash kids.
I just threw the trash bag on the sidewalk.
We were just talking about this.
When I grew up, growing up in Elkins Park,
they had the bins of the recycling with the regular trash,
and then the third one, I forget what it is, but whatever.
I mean, if mom saw that by the time,
mom saw that by the time she got home, it was trouble.
So you better have that thing right back in the crib
before 3 o'clock.
So whatever, I got off the bus.
So, yeah, that's the appropriate time.
I'm like 72-hour window.
I don't care.
72 hours?
What?
I will get mine.
In a time of the matter.
Actually, you know what?
Do y'all know where he lives at that?
If you ever.
Here we go.
You know what?
Now that I think about it, that makes sense.
You got a palatial estate.
That makes sense.
That very much.
He lives in a boon.
That makes sense.
That makes sense.
When Cliff came to visit us this summer,
when he came to a cookout and like,
I think you had a great time.
But he could not let it go.
He's like, man, you live all the way out here.
This is out of the boon.
He just took me like an hour.
How long did it take you to get them?
Legummy took me like an hour.
like 10 minutes.
Madra, this is like a slow, I don't know, what day was it, July 6th?
Yeah, it was a weekday.
Weekend, like not much going on.
No traffic and it's still taking hour.
The chat is on fire with how bad of a take.
Maybe it's just because you're in Cliff's presence against.
Now the bad makes are flying, but you, I mean, that's the trash can.
I don't leave mine out for that long, but to me, if I, like, okay, so they pick up our
trash on Friday morning.
Okay.
If I see the trash can out on a Sunday, I don't think anything.
of it. I don't care. Not my can, but
somebody else's. You know, it's like, honestly,
chat, like mind your business. But what about
the winter when the wind is blowing and everything is going
on and it's getting crazy out there?
Again, for me personally,
I honestly would probably go
36 hours.
I would push it.
And we'd share a driveway
with, so we have neighbors that we share
a driveway with. So there's always two sets of cans
down there. And there have been times
where they make it to Sunday, but then one of us
goes down and gets them. And that's, I think that
the shared driveway is informing this a little bit because when you share it with somebody,
like you can't get your can without getting theirs. And if you don't have the hands to do that,
maybe they last there a little bit. I have a different issue when it comes to the trash cans.
We have, you know, we're like behind a little alley in the city. And so we do have cans that we put
out there. And my issue is not, well, but my issue is like if, you know, the trash can come,
the trash people come in the morning
I get home at night that can's been out there
and you dog owners
you you you you
Beau hates dogs
you are putting your doggy bag
loose in my trash can
that's a violation if it's loose that's a major
violation I mean
it's on site
if I see that
that's unbelievable
I'm now responsible for your loose
dog
Get out of here.
That's uncalled for.
It's not a regular trash can.
That's really tough.
I can't define that out now.
The trash people came and let like,
what do you mean put a lid on it?
It's, it has a lid, but they're still putting the,
that's brazen to lift somebody, they'll lift the lid out.
That is crazy behavior.
That is crazy behavior.
Although separating.
And it happens all the time.
You are like anti-dog in a way that's a little bit of a red flag.
Now you know why.
It's one of your few red flags is that you just don't like dogs.
That and texting.
Yeah, you text me like you hate me.
You know how many like ha-haz and I still ha-haz and L-O-Ls?
I sent one to Julia because I think I just want like OJ, our Julia.
Okay.
Because I was like I feel like we need this for the show every once in a while.
It's just like the cold ha-ha-ha.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Okay.
All right, we're going to take a break here from some sponsors.
Cliff, you can see how the Superchats work.
We're going to read a couple when we come back.
But first, we talk about our friends elsewhere.
Hey, Julia, you need to leave that show.
We need to stop producing that show.
Don't we can't have you on that anymore.
My name is Ray.
Not the Shady Ray that we're talking about.
And even though that person is responsible for whatever Julia's future is,
This is about the wonderful sunglasses company, Shady Rays,
which has the best customer service policy in the business.
If you lose your sunglasses, if you break your sunglasses,
you get them replaced from Shady Rays.
So you can wear your sunglasses instead of worrying about them.
You know that moment when you realize you left your favorite sunglasses at the beach
or on the roof of your car or a gas station three states away?
Don't have to worry about it with Shady Rays.
Now you can actually wear your sunglasses without fear.
Shady Rays is eyewear.
has your back and you get 35% off polarized sunglasses with the code P-H-L-Y when you go to Shadyrays.com.
Try for yourself the Shady Rays and the Shades rated five stars by over 300,000 people.
So as we mentioned, Cliff is from my neck of the woods from Elkins Park last weekend.
He invites me over.
He's like, oh, watch come over, watch some college football, watch some of the games.
The other day I'm over.
So I'm like, oh, let's go over.
I'm excited.
But his setup was a total disaster.
Lacking, buffering, switching between apps, all trying to find the big game.
And he claimed that he was a big fan.
But I feel like I was a fanfish.
See, if you call yourself a football fan, then you have to have Xfinity.
It's the ultimate sports destination.

podcast. Forgive it. We do have soup for coming up later.
today haven't mentioned that but first we gotta we gotta keep going with the the EJ 11
really quick update from Eagles practice from Dave Zangero you goes are on the
practice foot right now Queen Ann Mitchell and Landon Dickerson are both at
practice again and Grant Calcutera is not a practice so got to keep people up to
date all right Cliff what's your next number we did we did one you did one three and
five let's do six all right another nonsense question if you went on love is blind
Would you be an early commitment guy or would you play the field?
Like you mean like final?
Like you know some of the guys are on there and like they just want to find their wife.
Right.
They just want to be done as fast as possible.
And there's other guys who like to keep their options open.
You asked love is mine.
You know that's an edited show, right?
I'm about to say it.
Sometimes they could speed up the process.
You know what I mean?
Like there are some guys who like they've got multiple girlfriends.
Like you know, they kind of are like stringing everybody along.
And then there's the ones that just like it seems like they happen instantly.
Well, I got intel from a person that actually was on.
Oh, flex.
And it's like, yo.
I'm not going to name no names, but, yeah, one of somebody I know was on there.
And it's not like that.
It's like you go around, you talk, and you're talking, and then like you wall it down.
It's not like you jump immediately.
So there's not an early commitment guy.
I don't know.
There must be earlier than other.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm sure like you'll find the one that you actually like earlier.
But it's not like, oh, damn, like, I met.
right you know Rachel she's the one right away you know what I'm saying hey back off oh
that your wife yeah he just knows know do you fall do you fall hard huh do you fall hard that's the
that's that's what yeah yeah one lane kind of guy would you want to would you want to what you
do it welcome to the PHS in this yeah yeah we know yeah our first super jazz our first super jass our first
chat comes from Dr. Prince Blue Cliff who says does Cliff know the definition of
simp yeah of course but like why are you asking me to do that
I don't know this has nothing to do with you no this has been a long oh it's something else
yeah we bow and I have different definitions of the word sim can I just but I want to
hear yours I don't want you my definition comes from the word simpleton I mean it comes
probably comes to that word or written that's all but in E.J. and I's lingo is probably
mean it's something different than what you think.
I would assume like a simple is kind of like somebody who like will do anything for their love,
but like things that they probably wouldn't do out of, you know, in a normal situation.
Like they're...
What a lovely definition.
Yeah.
That wasn't like a really good.
Yeah.
That was impressive.
They probably do things out of the ordinary for the love that they, you know, outside of their standards or outside of their like normal box or behavior.
It's impressive.
I think that's...
That was well done.
That was well done.
Very diplomatic.
Fresh Prince.
the Superchat who says this is how Super Chats work.
Since
Sergio says C2S, do you sit
down when you pee? Yes or no?
What do you?
It was like, what am I doing here?
I know.
This is funny. Yeah.
No, because I'll be watching this as I was like, I know you'll be joking, but that is
hilarious.
And then Polar James says, let us see the socks.
Oh, yeah.
How many, where is the socks are going to show feet?
It's cold today. I get it.
It's for brick outside.
I should have known.
I should have to break out.
I've got two pairs of socks.
I mean, you can't.
No, you can't.
Yeah.
I do.
I always wear two pairs of socks.
Like, no matter what I'm doing,
I'm wearing two pairs of socks.
But as you can see,
as you can see, I'm wearing two pairs.
Oh, you got the new balances on too.
Very nice.
Very nice.
All right.
Another number?
Yes.
We did six, right?
We did six, yeah, five, three and one.
So you got.
Let's do 10.
All right.
An eagle's question.
Mm-hmm.
What is your lasting memory of Carson Wentz?
Obviously, the Eagles might be seeing Carson Wentz this weekend.
Easily remember the Seahawks game where he got out with the concussion.
I thought you'd have a positive one.
No.
That's the lasting impression with Carson.
Clowny.
Clowny.
Is that to the ground?
Legal hit on Carson Wentz.
He goes out the game.
Josh McCown, 80-year-old quarterback goes in, tries to win the game.
There's his hairstring.
There's his hamstring.
There's a hamstring.
Now, that's the lasting memory.
Now, Fran, we still don't know who's going to start in this game.
And it kind of sort of feels like it might be McCarthy, T. Leaves-Wiles.
I think so.
He says.
I think so, too.
I mean, which is better.
Yeah, I feel like.
I think so, too.
I mean, but he's just hurt.
McCarthy's been limited.
It seems like they're kind of like they're waiting another week, yeah, in my guess.
So that leads me to, I mean, as someone who watched tape of every single one of his eagle snaps.
Yep.
What did you see on film from the Viking snaps?
Which, which version, which year of Carson Wednesday did he most look like to you?
Oh, okay.
That's actually a good one.
probably like 19 i was going to say yeah like like 18 19 yeah uh that's not bad no i honestly like
so i watched every drop back from this year and it got progressively better like the the first
game was pretty rough uh but i thought as we got as we went along throughout the season i thought that he
got better the the last game against cleveland oh i mean he made some big time throws in that game
now is it all pretty no i'm not saying he's uh you know MVP candidate that we saw in 27
But I think when you watch Carson in this offense, the last couple games against Pittsburgh and Cleveland, you're going to get the Carlson Wentz experience.
He's going to hold onto the ball and take some violent shots.
He's going to try and wriggle out of out of a sack by like ducking under.
He still does that.
He loves the duck under.
He's taking better care of it.
But like it wasn't forcing the ball down the field in coverage, but he accesses every single area of the field.
A lot of play action, vertical concepts, deep outbreak and grouts, deep dig routes.
It was impressive.
It was pretty good.
And look, he knows where his bread's buttered.
Like, you made the point yesterday in the show.
He finally gets to throw to Justin Jefferson.
He knows, like, item number one on the agenda, get the ball to Justin Jefferson.
And he's going to let his guy go make plays.
You're a little worried?
I'm not worried about whence per se.
But this offense is a tough offense to go against when it's firing on all cylinders.
Now, the big thing is that, I mean,
that Cleveland game going up against that defensive line.
They were playing with one starter for the last two and a half quarters,
all on the offensive line.
They just had their right guard, Will Fries.
Their center, Ryan Kelly's on injured reserve.
He won't be playing in this game.
They're hoping Christian Dyrshaw's back.
It looks like he will be there, the left tackle.
The left guard is the rookie first round pick.
They're hoping to get him back.
It sounds like he might be ready to go,
but he is definitely not a surefire thing.
Brian O'Neill, the right tackle.
They're hoping he's going to be able to go,
but he's not surefire.
So they were playing with like tackle four and tackle five in this game.
They were playing with their third center in this game.
So they're hoping they can get a bunch of these pieces back.
That would play in the Eagles hands a little bit against a, you know,
not great defensive line.
But I think when you're looking at this, if they can protect Carson Wentz,
like he's got the ability to deliver the football to those playmakers in the outside.
I mean, Cliff, can you imagine being down bad worse than losing to Carson Wentz?
That's the third straight loss.
That's what I said.
This week is extremely pivotal.
It's one of the extremely total games in recent Eagles memory.
You're not making me feel good about that, Fran.
Seems possible.
I texted you guys yesterday as I was watching Carson Wentz
and I'm watching to make all these throws.
And I'm like, it's kind of like mixed emotions
because I'm like, yeah, you mentioned.
I watched every single snap of his during his time in Philadelphia.
I know what it can look like.
And there were shades of that
or a lot of the positivity that we came to expect early in his career.
Yeah, it feels like he has really benefited from being
in like a quarterback-friendly.
system. It kind of allows him to still be him, but it kind of protects him from himself in certain
areas. All right. Let's get to another number and then we'll get to some more.
They're getting a little familiar with you, Cliff.
But I don't realize how crazy. No, because I got watch some times, but like, this looks
crazy.
My sneaks, they look kind of scuffer right, though.
They look good. I can promise. I can vouch for clip. You're trying to shuffle yours out of the
shot it looks like.
my sneakers.
Okay.
All right,
what numbers we go left?
All right,
we got two,
four,
seven, eight, nine,
11.
Oh yeah,
we go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
All right.
Another nonsense.
Let's go.
What is the thing
you miss most
about having me
on the ringers
really special?
Oh, man.
Obviously,
Cliff kind of scooped me
on my own job
announcement.
Kind of a couple months ago.
It's my last appearance.
But yeah,
he was nice enough to come,
though.
He was nice enough to come to the Ospre.
I never had an issue with Cliff.
I want to make it clear.
It was team content.
The other thing we're not going to do is blame him.
We're not blame the shit.
You're right because let's not do that.
I just got back on the good side of the Capadia ladies and I can't.
I can't.
I can not get on there.
She'll did nothing sinister,
did nothing wrong.
It was an accident about me.
But yeah,
my bad.
No,
no.
This has been very enjoyable.
And if people took it too serious and then it was,
oh,
you guys aren't friends anymore.
I'm like,
Oh, like,
Steel's throwing you under the bus for falling asleep one time.
Yeah.
No, that was crazy.
No, time he did it.
No, no, no.
But you got to remember the circumstances that was insane, though,
because it was madly.
And we got to record those pies like super late.
And then, I don't know, like,
I think I was coming back from somewhere and the time was, I don't know, whatever.
Not in the house.
You don't have to apologize.
Not in the house.
Definitely.
I'm not apologizing.
Just giving you the circumstances.
It all works out anyway.
All right.
So what do you miss me?
What are I missed?
DJ.
I don't know,
just the jokes in the band are just going back.
It's,
it'd just be funny because like we just say around the same age.
So we just grew up in the same times and did the same stuff.
So it was funny to like had a connection with somebody and,
to joke and laugh about.
So yeah,
probably just that just like the camaraderie of it.
Yeah,
no,
it was just fun.
Good times, man.
For real,
really, really good times.
My dad still asks about you,
Cliff.
That's my man.
He still,
he still,
that's my man.
His dad coached a bunch of my friends too.
That's why.
Like, that's, that's, that's a funny.
What's the book?
What's friends ever?
It's the book on Coach Smith.
Cool.
Cool.
Oh,
yeah.
He's just,
that's my man.
Nah,
my dad,
he can be,
he's got,
he's got a different side to him.
No,
he was,
he's mad cool.
Yeah.
When I met him,
we was talking,
he's,
he's,
he's like smoothed out now.
He's like,
he's,
he's,
the,
the edge isn't as sharp as it was about 10,
15 years ago.
I mean,
he was like a legit football coach.
Like,
He had that energy to him.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So his dad coached a couple of my friends at Temple because he coached at Norristown.
And I had one of my best ones from Northstown.
And we was just talking about that and just like going back and forth on different times.
He was like, yeah, I used to be over here.
I used to be over here.
I used to be over, you know, just O.G.
Philly stuff.
So that's, his dad's mad cool and mad funny.
So yeah, I rock with his pops for sure.
All right.
Well, I don't know.
I don't want to speak for your game, E.J.
But I feel like that is football coach energy, a good transition into another one of your items,
which maybe we can get to after this.

Cliff which number to pick? I have to be honest,
really quick. Reading ad reads with Cliff
next to me is like having to do like
your school project.
I want to ask about Monarch. I'm like,
it sounds good, man.
I'm talking about the big switch.
I'm going to ask this somewhere else.
Shout out Monarch Money.
Yeah.
Money, man.
All right, what's your next number?
Clip you got two.
Tell them to, no, tell them to do the
the sound clip that we have.
Oh, yeah.
All right.
So we're going to do number four.
What did you think of Jonathan Gannon dredging up by Goldfish Fix arrest?
Did you hear this?
We have the audio.
This is really one of the most wild things that I've ever heard at a press conference.
This is Jonathan Gannon this week as the Cardinals.
How early in your career did you have to start trying to figure out how to take the emotion out of coaching as far as when you, when you have all
these injuries and you have all these different pieces.
When's the first time that you can recall that?
2007 when our quarterback went to jail.
And that's it.
The awkward silence after it's so good.
That's the end of the press conference.
How do you follow up after that if you report?
Like, what?
And E.J.
Was Jonathan Gannon like the offensive coordinator of that team?
No, he was a defensive quality control assistant in his first year with the
falcon.
That man has lost.
his mind.
Michael Vick was just sitting there at home, just chilling.
No, he's working.
He's working.
He's like, yeah, he's North Florida.
He's probably a better coach.
You said the guy who learned everything he knows from Bobby Petrino.
I mean, Dave, you just saw him hit somebody.
Like, what the hell?
How are we feeling about Johnny Gantz?
Johnny Gannon Watch is on effect, man.
I mean, losing that way today, they lost to the Titans.
and then he'll be out of there pretty soon.
I think you're right.
I think that's not going to go.
Kyle's not looking too good.
That is wild.
Marvin Harris is not looking too good.
You know, it's getting,
it's getting rocky down there, Nasey.
All right.
27, 8, 11.
How are you keeping better track than I am?
I think that's been established.
Let's go.
Let's go seven.
All right.
Speaking of Michael Beck,
what Eagles game made you want to do your job the least?
Like, which game?
Oh,
Made you just not want to get back, get on the pod.
There's two that come to mind.
I want your guys' answers for this too.
There's two that come to mind.
This was a mailback question from the Discord.
Yeah.
From Code Ran.
Oh, shout out to Code.
Code ran.
I think so.
Become a diehard.
You're going to make the submissions.
There's two that come to mind that I was there for it.
There's the Saints game.
Gardner-Mitchie started.
Laddimore got like a pick six right in the end zone.
You guys remember that one?
And then there's that Cardinals game.
at the end of 23, I believe, season.
Bingham Ganon.
Cindy Brown gets to pick six.
And that game, those two games are just God awful.
So those two games probably come to, I was there.
So both of those just immediately come to mind.
Like, all right, this is awful.
This job.
This would suck.
I would not want to talk about this ever.
For me, it's, I mean, it's not,
the outcome of the game doesn't affect me.
This is kind of a cop-out,
but I mean, just covering the 2020 season.
Yeah.
You're not even at the games.
Like, you know, you're not in the locker room.
That was not fun.
Yeah.
And you feel like you just,
you feel like you have less of a pulse of the team.
Yeah.
There was a loss.
I've tried to remember the year,
but it was the,
the,
the,
when the Panthers came back and won the game,
like 2018.
I actually have a better answer.
I was on the beat.
It was at the link.
It was a,
yeah,
it might have been,
do you remember which year it was?
It was a bad,
they lost it in the fourth quarter.
They gave up.
like two or three touchdowns say it again panthers uh link i want to say it was is it 15
wasn't there i want to say it was the peterson he was 18 i think it was 18 i'd have to find the uh at the
the uh eagle oh the jr thaker white side drops the ball at the end yes yeah yeah yeah yeah that was
week seven that was that was a rough one and then uh the loss at the link to the cowboys in 20
chip kelly's final year 2015 okay so that was a bad one i have a better answer hold on i've got got
mine and this is gonna this I'm like torn about this like it was a great opportunity and I wouldn't
this is gonna sound crazy I know this is gonna sound like a weird take the Super Bowl last year loss
this is for last year because you wanted to like be with your family I'm a I am a family guy
like yeah to my core yeah and I it would have been it would have been a cool memory to like watch it
with my dad yeah good guy yeah but I'm not like saying that like I'm ungrateful or anything like
that. It's just, yeah, you know, like I FaceTime my dad after that game. Now we're going to get
really deep. And I just said to him, like, you know, wish I could have watched it with you.
So, hey. What was your favorite?
Sorry, growing up, what was your favorite? What's like a memory of watching football with your
dad that stands out? You know, I mean, there are a lot of Eagles memories, but the one that
always stands out to me is actually watching the Phillies win the World Series together, actually.
because like the basement TV that we watched it on
is a little bit ahead of the one upstairs.
So like we are like jumping up and down and clapping and screaming
and like my sister and my mom or we're both like,
we have no idea which is happening.
So yeah, but I don't know.
That's one of the, that's like really the because I think like when the Eagles
lose games like as a reporter, it's like I want to get down there and get answers.
Yeah.
When they win games, it's, you know, still like interesting to come.
It feels like you're part of history when they are like in the playoffs like the Rams the snow game like I thought that was like such a cool game to cover
Yeah, but yeah the Super Bowl I think would have been cool to be with it's very sweet so let's go on
I don't want to come over that I'm not I'm not gonna beat that but though I will say the one I had was the 2014 Eagles played on Thanksgiving
Oh yeah against the Cowboys this is the Sanchez game yeah and I was hosting the post game show for Philadelphia Eagles.com and I don't know if you remember this friend
But you know we're working on Thanksgiving. It's part of the job. That's the deal
But our boss at the time, this is the before the game.
Before the game had ordered, had ordered like a nice thought, ordered food for the people who are working on the ice.
Some local, you know, some Thanksgiving fair.
And I love Thanksgiving.
I miss being with the family.
And what was delivered was just a raw turkey.
It was a frozen.
It was a raw turkey.
It was a cooked turkey frozen.
It wasn't cooked.
Yeah.
It wasn't cooked.
We had to put it under
and put it under the heat lamp.
No, so I went, I snuck,
I went to the cafeteria behind, like, where all the stoves were
and when they were turn on the heat lamps.
It was a, not, yeah, just like the heat warmers.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So it was a cooked turkey, but it was frozen.
So there were icicles all over it.
So, like, it was, it wasn't like if you ate it,
it was going to be, you weren't going to get sick.
It was so depressing.
It was bad.
It was, like, all the sides and everything was cold.
It was so depressing.
We were heating up mashed potatoes in the microwave,
but it was rough.
That was bad.
Oh, man.
I was like, oh, it's so nice that they.
And then we're like, oh, my God.
That was bad.
That was bad.
That was so bad.
I am a big wife guy.
Proud of it.
Let's get just some more super chats before we finish out the, the EJ 11.
And then we'll get to swooper.
Shea says, Cliffy, two socks to bed and nor other activities.
I think a little too familiar.
Dr. Prince Blue, Fran looks like Zach Bonn if he did pushups and protein.
I don't know about that.
I don't like that.
I don't like that one.
I think he's talking about a different ZB.
Dr. Prince Blue.
Cliff and E.J.
look like a WWE tag team,
Black Eclipse.
Like that.
Yeah.
I feel like you guys could do some work.
Yeah.
Cliff be in the gym.
I'm catching up.
Don't want this oversized hoodie for you.
No, the oversized hoodie is good if you're in wintertime, Rose Burkow stuff.
You should have told me you were wearing it.
I literally got the same job.
I got the same exact hoodie.
Ah, look at you.
I'll wear it tomorrow.
And then Fresh Prince has a generous son.
We will get to that one.
We'll get to that one a little bit.
You know what the fake one.
Canal Street.
No, it was verified.
It was verified.
You can't be putting me on plastic.
I guess it's like that.
2, 8 and 11.
All right, 2.8 and 11, Cliff.
Let's go to him.
All right.
Are you more worried about the Isaiah Rogers revenge game or the Jvon Hargrave revenge game?
You know, that's funny.
I'd probably say Isaiah Rogers from the simple fact that the Eagles need a corner
back too so bad. Like imagine he gets a crazy pass breakup, pick, pick, just some type of crazy
turnover. And then they're like, people are like, well, we could add him on the team. He should
have been back. You know, if he gets a, what, seven.
Interception. Was it seven mil? Was it seven and a half? Yeah, seven to half mill? Which, you know,
I'm assuming you could probably work that out if you were to use some way, somehow, some form, some
passion. So I think the Rogers one, I think Hartgrave was just too far gone. Yeah.
In our memories, right? Because he left after that Super Bowl season. Yeah, but that's
that's a sack celebration. No, that was great. It was very good.
Celebration.
Good celebration.
But even then, like, I look at, you know, Jalen Carter, like, just the guys that come through the D-Line line,
Milliams, different guys like that.
Yeah, they don't miss it as much.
Right, right.
Isaiah Rogers, right.
I mean, damn, I just said I wanted to talk to Dorie Jackson.
So, Isaiah Rogers.
That's true.
The perfect guy.
I would think if he had the revenge game, people would be like, holy hell.
Like, this is bad.
What are you doing?
Like, that's a major mess up.
So, that's a good.
Isaiah Rogers for sure.
All right.
All right.
Which, where are we going, Cliff?
Let's just do it.
Eight.
All right.
These, so the last two are games.
Okay.
Are you familiar with Peck Ness Migrate?
Wait.
Peck Ness Migrate is like, uh, is like, yeah.
Yes.
Peck is kiss.
Nest is Mary.
Okay.
Migrate is like, get out of here.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
I got it.
Okay.
So, I'm this on the show is, is, uh, it's interesting.
Yeah.
I didn't get through it.
No, you didn't.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let me hear the question, man.
This is going to be some d'all.
All right.
Peckness migrate.
Cizza.
Kiki.
Palmer and Tiana Taylor.
Wait, what is it?
Is this a, okay.
Kiki Palmer and Tiana Taylor.
Peck Ness migrate.
Damn, that's a, that is a crazy lineup.
Shout out, Sizor.
Shout out Sizzer first and foremost.
I would say,
Pekiki, what's the other stuff?
Ness.
Ness.
Siza and then,
my great, Tionna, Taylor,
she a little bit too out there for me.
Oh, wow.
Wow.
She likes to put her business on Front Street, so it's like, I don't know, I'm not with all that.
And Cliff B in the house.
Yeah.
Can't have his business up.
I'll be in the curve, man.
All right.
I was chilling.
Cizza, we know you're watching.
She watches all ClifCon.
There you go.
I wish.
That's why we wanted to have you on.
We're like, Cizza.
Bring Cizzen in here.
Some ways them out.
All right.
So all you have left is 11.
Uh-huh.
You are going to Stork rank people who contribute regularly to the ringers really special.
Oh, wow.
I'm looking at Bo.
Because I don't know if we agree on the lineup here.
Wait,
wait, I have to rank in order.
Yeah,
you have to tell us,
you have to tell us from favorite to leave.
Are you all serious?
Yeah.
Come on.
This is game.
So,
all right,
so you got to rank,
how many people is,
we're going to go steal,
Sean Syed,
Tony Buns.
That's it,
right?
And Zach Berman.
I know that is.
I mean,
I can,
I mean,
I'll say this is tough.
I'll say,
I'll say number one is show.
That's my guy,
my man.
And then agreed.
One AB and all that is Buns, Sean and Z, I love all them.
So we got, we just got the right.
Yeah, you can't.
Come on, man.
What are you doing here?
We're team content over here.
Sean put me into the trap, man.
That's crazy.
That was my, no, seriously, I love all those guys.
Seriously, Buns is my guy.
We hang out a lot.
I was just at his housewarming.
She was my guy, obviously, as you know, we've been working together for however many years now.
He's a big brand new guy, but that's my man.
Yeah.
Yeah, he's handsome I agree with that.
Yeah.
You, what's so?
just a random
drive
handsome guy
zv loves zv
zb zb's funny man
um
yeah
why they keep saying
that zb
he opens up now
because he's around
black and brown people
that's the thing
you got to talk to him about
I'm like damn
like what
I got I got nothing to say
on that front
what's going on here
I don't know
of why he's uncomfortable
around white people
he doesn't know
CB's my man.
I couldn't.
Some of the stories
he's told in,
you know,
four weeks already.
But he told him to me?
Oh,
man.
I was close up.
I missed up to set.
He didn't tell all those here?
No.
I mean,
Hey, man.
As if you just got him to open up,
man, you know.
Like the shout out to the black and brown people.
You know,
now I come to mention it.
ZB's always been pretty open with me.
He's been an open book.
Unlike Cam Juergens.

Let's hit this other super chat,
because I want to unpack this question from Fresh Prince,
who says, the players are all-site execution is the problem.
The analysts say the offensive scheme is basic and predictable.
is there a difference between running the same run play over and over
and running the same passing concept over and over, Fran, what say you?
First of all, thank you for the Jerry.
Yeah, absolutely.
FP, Santangelo.
The big thing, look, the Eagles have had a lot of success running inside zone over and over and over.
The repetitiveness is not a bad thing.
It's bad when it doesn't work, that's what everyone says, oh, then it's not good.
Sean McVeigh, like they run a lot of the same concepts over and over.
What they do a better job of overall is that they dress it up better.
And I think that one of the things that the Eagles don't do as often is that they don't
dress up a lot of their stuff when it comes to the different formations and the different
motions and all the different personnel grouping.
So showing something different to the defense and then, you know, running the same kinds of
plays.
You could still get by doing it the other way.
They're doing the way the Eagles have done it, but you need to rely.
on your talent to be able to do it.
And right now,
their talent across the board.
The offensive line is not performing to the level
that we're accustomed to.
Jalen Hertz,
not playing to the level that he's capable of.
You grow right down the board.
So, yeah, I think that that's why, to me,
like everybody is kind of chipping into what we're seeing.
That thing that you're talking about,
as we try to, from the outside, parse,
you know, what is Jalen's responsibility
for some of the predictable,
predictability of the offense?
What is the coaches?
Not dressing things.
up, it's hard for me to believe is on anybody but the coaches.
Is that fair?
Like, or like Jalen would be like, I don't, I don't want motion before this play or I don't
want the guys lined up in a slightly different place.
Yeah, I mean, it could, it could be that that could be the case.
There are quarterbacks that don't like motion.
There are quarterbacks that don't like play action, you know, and I don't know what
Jaylon does and doesn't like, but it, it's definitely possible that he could be someone
that would say like, no, I don't want to do X, Y, or Z.
It's hard to figure out.
Yeah.
And it all comes into a game, which, like, the Carson Wentz is like a, it's a fun B plot to this game, I think.
But how does this Eagles offense handle Brian Flores of all defenses, a defense that is playing very well?
And majors and all the stuff that have given the Eagles trouble.
is to me like what this game is all about.
Yeah,
they blitz at the highest rate in the league.
And I think when you look at it,
and you look at Brian Flores-Zythendant
we have this course of his career.
You know,
he has always been a high-volume blitzing coach.
Like that's all,
one of his key quotes,
I remember when he first got hired was you want to solve your problems
with aggression.
So a high-volume blitz operation.
I do think you're going to see that this week in spurts.
But I would also expect a good mix of the SIM pressures,
where it's,
you know,
five or six guys up in the line of scrimmage and only four players come.
And everybody else drops out.
You're going to get some of the cool like designer rotations and unscouted looks with
some three man rushes.
And it was funny because I went back, the last time these two teams played each other
was 2023.
It was week two at the link Monday night football.
And going back and rewatching that game.
And I'm sorry, rereading my notes from that game was one of the,
they were one of the first teams that instead of going blitz, blitz,
Blitz, blitz, blitz, blitz at Jalen Hertz.
And they did it throughout, but they did a lot of mixing in of the three-man rushes.
And Jalen did not have a great game.
Now, he made, there was that deep post route that he threw to Devante Smith over the top
in the second half against a zero coverage look, a look that they had showed a couple times in the game.
That was a big time throw in a big time spot, great game planning, execution.
Like, that was really, really good.
But overall, Jalen did not have a great game in that outing.
And I think when you look at it, the things that Brian Flores does really well,
I can imagine like it's going to be like after the game or it's going to be Monday.
And if the Eagles lose and they have troubles on offense, it's going to be, well, you know,
there are a lot of unscouted looks.
And it's like there are plays where there's eight guys up in the line of scrimmage.
And then right before the snap, you know, Harrison Smith is lined up at, you know, over Jordan Milata.
And he drops to the post right beforehand.
And it looks like it's going to be cover zero blitz and it ends up being some weird, funky version of cover two.
Like that's what they do on second and ten.
That's what they do on third.
Nate, that's what they do sometimes on first and 10
if they think it's a passing down. So
I think when you're looking at it, they
do things really well.
This isn't like, oh, Vince Joseph, they never do
these sim pressures. They don't do this stuff.
And all the giants, they don't really do.
Now, this is what Brian Flores majors in
and he does it really, really well.
My guess is that he's going to give
Jalen Hertz in the past game issues on that
front. Yeah, it's like when you watch it, it's like chaotic
sometimes, like pre-snap, they've got guys
like running like 30 yards back to get to the
post like after being at the line of scrimmon.
at the at the at the study and when the when the offense breaks the huddle so I love it I like I love watching
the you know the Vic Fangio defense is really really fun you know all the iterations of it or it's
really fun to be able to study and go back and watch uh beaux I've always loved watching like
the Dennis Allen defenses in that group for you love Dennis Allen the Brian Flores defense is my
favorite uh yeah I think when you look at the because to me the the mindset of we are going to be
ultra-aggressive and attacking protections and things like,
like he does that really well with all the crazy, like variety from a coverage standpoint.
And at the end of the day, like I said, like a lot of what his identity is is we're going
to blitz and play man.
I just, I love the way that that whole mindset, you know, sometimes it can get burned.
But I'm going to say, like, that's like to me, you've seen the Eagles offense face so
many extreme defensive game like game plans.
And some of them are on scouted looks this week.
It's more, you know, something that this team does a lot of.
But it feels like it shouldn't be that hard for the Eagles to like make teams pay for those types of extreme game plans.
And I know the Vikings, they do it so well that it's maybe a little bit less of a thing this week.
But it is like, it seems like teams are daring them to just beat them in the ways that you have to beat certain looks like that.
Like remember hearing a defensive coach talk about like how you can scheme up this cool sim pressure.
And then you have to have a guy drop 30 yards and get to the post.
And it's like, well, you know, like you're not putting your players in the best positions possible.
But the Vikings have seemed to like insulate those risks.
And it doesn't seem like the Eagles are well equipped to handle those types of things.
Yeah, you can easily disguise yourself out of coverage.
You know, you put yourself in a spot where like that Rams play where Dallas got it scored down the scene.
You know, it was a Tampa 2 invert call.
No, that safety had no shot at making a play on that call.
So if the offense gets you, the offense gets you.
That said, if I'm Flores with the week of extra time to prepare, like I would feel confident in my game plan.
I would feel confident if I were the Vikings going into this one.
You know, again, they just do, they do a lot.
of unique looks.
Sometimes it's safetys.
We're gonna play three safeties.
All the stuff that everybody loves
that Arizona and Jonathan Gannon
and Nick Rouser,
like the Vikings have been doing that
for the last couple of years
and they do it really, really well.
All the different unique,
the blitzes and the rushes.
Like they do a lot of really fun stuff.
They put a lot on Isaiah Rogers.
Like, because sometimes they play
where it'll be cover zero to one side.
Like straight, straight man to man,
no help over the top.
And then it's Tampa 2 over to the other side
where it's like,
oh, we're gonna play like four over three
and you've got a Mike linebacker running the shoot.
Like they just,
it's a lot to sort through.
And Jalen hasn't done it well for the last couple of games.
And so to me,
it would take a lot to reverse this
past game standpoint,
which is why to me,
it is more important than ever.
They got to be able to run the ball in this game.
So I was going to.
And I was going back,
again,
going back through my notes from that game.
I remember one of the,
I think,
so Jeff Statlin spoke to reporters
after the,
not right after the game,
but it was like in the week after.
Okay.
And or it was, or he may have done a segment with me on the site, on the website.
It was one of the two.
Either way.
But either way, he spoke with, he did, he did it.
He had some quotes after the game.
And I remember he's, Brian Johnson was the officer quarter at the time, was the play caller that year.
And he said, you got to give Brian Johnson a lot of credit because he just kept going at inside zone over and over.
Oh, that's right.
I remember they were running the same play.
He just kept running the same play.
And I give him a lot of credit because you would say like, oh, that's predictable or the, you know, that, but we stuck.
to it because they couldn't stop it.
Like that they one of those games where I feel like you kind of need you need to be able to set
the tone with the run game against this defense.
They're not great against the run.
The defensive lines getting moved off the ball.
You know, I don't think that hard gray, we talked about hard grave earlier.
Like I don't think he holds his ground as well as he used to.
Jonathan Allen, I would say the same thing.
The linebackers, you know, that they're not known as run stuffers.
I can't believe that we are in 2025 and Eric Wilson is still playing significant snaps
in an NFL defense.
You know, and he is for this defense right now.
So to me, like this is a game.
They haven't been able to run the ball well.
Like the beginning of the season, they could not run the ball well.
They have to find a way to be able to do it in this one.
When you're watching the Flores defense that you love so much,
do you play the game of like you pause it before the snap and try to guess who's coming?
No, but I probably could.
That would be a lot of fun.
It's a fun group.
There was one against the Steelers where like they had like three guys rushed from like the interior and like everybody else drops out.
Like it's it was chaotic and it works.
So there are number one.
They play split safety coverage at the highest rate
The NFL is from next gen stats.
Highest rate of split safety coverage in the NFL.
Hertz has completed 68.1% of his passes against split safety looks this year.
That's 24th amongst 35 quarterbacks with least 25 attempts.
Like he has now his past numbers overall haven't been great.
So it's, you know, anytime you look at those splits, it's going to be that way.
But yeah.
Okay.
I know, Julie.
I know what time it is.
He doesn't be so mean to her.
It's their last day.
you're producing the Eagles show and you're over there giving her flag.
She's gonna be here.
She's gonna be here.
E.J.'s bladder has reached capacity.
I just,
I text this guy discreetly.
He just airs out my business.
Why do you just say you gotta pee?
I know, he's gotta go to get his abacus, but, you know.
And it's gonna take a minute.
It's gotta do.
It's gonna take a little longer than normal to get the abacus.
And so with that, we send it to overtime.
Go ahead, E.J.
All right.
We're back on the PHA Y Eagles podcast.
You just don't, you get a bad feeling about this because of all the things you talk about.
Yeah.
Are you more worried about that side of the ball?
The other one.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the show.
Oh, because, you know, he's gone.
He might as well fill the seat.
Right.
Like somebody's got to be in the seat.
That's exactly right.
Scale of 1 to 10.
How afraid of you are of Kevin O'Connell and Brian Flores?
15.
Yeah.
That's my concern, especially with the week of rest.
Yeah.
Look, coming off their buy, I know the Eagles have a mini buy, but they had a full buy.
Yeah.
You're really good coaches.
Really good coaches.
Like, I'm not in love with their personnel on their defense.
I mean, it's good.
But he makes the most of it.
He's smart.
And that's what scares me.
I mean, truthfully.
Yep.
I agree.
I think this is for the things that friend was just talking about.
This is like a last year kind of run past balance.
You've got to run the ball like 80% of the time.
They have to be able to run the ball well in this game.
If they can't run the ball well in this game,
it's not going to go well offensively.
Here's the thing.
I mean, this is what you and I talked about this morning.
We've all talked about it.
You and I've talked about this.
Can this line get to the point
where it can be a bully again?
Yep.
Right?
Can you get to the health wise
and the interior piece of it?
Can steam be it?
Like, it's not just winning every once in a while.
Like, you've got to win.
Like, you've got to know.
They have to know.
Last year, team's new.
Stack the box.
Why?
do you think Barclay's taking it to the house?
Yeah.
Because they did stack the box and he broke through to the second level.
There's nobody there.
I'm with you.
I don't know that they have it in him.
They couldn't do it the first few weeks.
Outside,
Frady.
Outside zone stuff,
yeah.
Being able to get to the perimeter.
That's when they've had any kind of success.
Because God,
it's good at seal the edge.
Like,
God,
it's good at that.
Yeah.
Look,
I'd make,
I'd want to make Eric Wilson run.
I'd want to try and see if,
is he going to be able to chase those plays backside.
They're hoping to maybe get play cashman.
their Mike linebacker back for this game.
I don't know that he's a definite.
So that'll be big for that run.
What's the mood in the city Monday morning?
Because if Carson Wentz beats the Eagles.
Oh, man.
I mean, you know, I mean, let's face it.
Like, this whole thing, the fascinating piece of the story,
like as a story person, I'm fascinated by it because Carson begets all this.
Of course.
Right?
Like two Super Bowls.
Carson Wentz is arguably more.
responsible for the Eagles
winning the Super Bowl last year
than anybody but Halli Roseman.
Yeah.
Like all the dominoes
and following the dominoes
it's an amazing story.
You don't get
Jaylon Carter without him.
Right.
And it's the first time
back at the stadium since.
Yes.
Isn't that wild?
Yeah.
Like the story piece of it.
You know,
which is why you gotta win.
Like you can't have
you can't have what to beat you.
Especially
first time back since.
I left it up.
It's the Super Bowl?
First time.
No, they lost in 2018 or 19.
Hold on.
I thought.
Yeah.
I said a big game because I went, I went early because I went to North Dakota.
Not, I went to cover it, but I went to North Dakota first to go to go to Carson
Wentz's old stomping grounds.
That was not at.
They got blown out.
You're right.
19.
19.
19.
Wow.
38 to 20.
Yep.
38 20.
Good call.
DJ's back.
I don't want to steal this stuff.
Yeah, you're fine.
Tune into the Anthony Gargana show tomorrow at 9 o'clock.
I love it.
Love you guys.
Thank you, because.
All right.
Anything else before we get to Swooper?
No, I'll try.
I'll, yeah, we're spring.
Goal and Swooper.
Reviewing last year's or last week's results.
I'll get to the Super Jets in a second.
A lot of good ones.
E.J.
Jalen Hurst throws a touchdown pass against zone coverage.
Did not happen.
Cam Latu has either a catch or a carry.
Did not happen.
Seekwan Barclays yards per carry is greater than Aaronola's ERA and the NLDS.
That did happen.
Zero for Aaronola.
Nick,
Siriani is caught on the broadcast, having a heated exchange with anybody other than an official
did not happen.
Kind of happened, but didn't happen.
It didn't happen.
It didn't.
He was mad at tank.
He got pissed.
It doesn't mean that's a heathic semantics.
The Eagles win by a margin no more than 10, but less than nine.
Obviously did not happen.
So one hit for EJ.
I had the Eagles have more yards from scrimmage than the distance in feet of the longest
Phillies home run in the NLDS.
Kyle Shore was bomb made sure that that did not have.
happen. The Eagles snapped the ball at five seconds or less on the play clock on at least 50% of
their snaps, excluding no huddle snaps and kneel downs in the first half. That did happen.
Nicobey Dean has at least half a tackle on special teams or a block kick did not happen.
The number of catches in this game by Eagles other than AJ Brown, Devante Smith, Dallas Goddard
and Saquan Barkley is greater than Flyers goals on Tuesday that are on Thursday rather. That did
happen. Flyers scored one goal. AJ Dylan had a couple catches. Fantastic.
And Saquan Barkley has 100 plus rushing yards. Didn't happen. I hit two.
Fran, Sequin Barclay has more touches than AJ Brown has combined catches and targets.
I believe you missed this by one.
It was 15 to 14.
And then the Dania's the Dana's super poopoo platter.
You hit one, you got one.
The ball hit the helmet.
Ball hit the helmet.
That was nice.
A win for me.
And now on the season, E.J. and I are tied with two and a half.
Fran has one.
Heading into this week, I have 29 turkeys.
Fran has 30.
E.J. has 11 with which to bid.
tough. Not many
beads on the abacus. Let's get to
the Super Chats first.
I think before we get to
Swoper, I think we should introduce our new
I agree. I think our introduce our new producer.
I agree. Super Chats.
Joe Rockhead.
Congrats, Julia, and good luck
at your new position.
How do we tell them?
Cash squash.
Peckness migrate.
Germaine Johnson, Jalen Phillips,
And I think this is a good question and it incorporates what you would likely have to give up for them.
I'm going to peck Jalen Phillips.
So for this exercise then, let's say you're pecking, you know that it's just a one-year rental.
Nest is you're hopefully resigned.
You're hopefully signing the guy.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah, I like that.
Okay.
Well, then I'm going to peck Trey Hendrickson, actually, if it's a one-year rental.
But that also means you're giving up what?
A two?
I don't want to do that.
I don't want to do that for any of them, to be honest, personally.
Really?
Yeah, well, I would rather, I'd rather do that with Hendrickson than Phillips.
I'm going to...
I think Jermaine Johnson is the guy in most...
I'm going to ask Jermaine Johnson.
Yeah, I agree.
See, now I don't get to feel like I got it right,
because you just blurted it out.
It took you too long.
Jermaine Johnson's the obvious.
Well, I'm trying to process the information here.
I'm going to migrate Jalen Phillips.
The guys come off the injuries are just a little...
Yeah.
Jermaine Johnson's coming off an injury, too.
Yeah, but he's younger.
And, you know, liked him coming out.
Yeah.
I knew.
No, but I think you're giving up less for him than Phillips.
Yeah.
And I think I am more willing to buy the long term with him.
Yeah.
And I also don't think, like with Trey Hendrickson, you know, it is, it is a short-term solution.
Yeah.
Better player.
No doubt.
Yeah.
But I would rather bring in somebody who I think is a chance to be here for longer.
All right.
So let me ask you this question.
let's say you're the Eagles and you're like,
okay, we're not trading AJ Brown this fall.
We're not trading him before the deadline.
So he's here.
But we know that this thing is coming to a head.
This off season,
there's going to be a parting away.
It's like we're going to have to make some kind of move here.
Would that further put, say like we want to push our chips in
and make one final run?
Or is it like, oh, like, you know,
let's let's be judicious about it.
I think you push your chips in to make a final run,
especially because you know that you'll get the draft capital on the back end.
from Asia.
Yeah.
It would make me more aggressive.
I would,
I wouldn't.
If I,
if I think this is heading towards,
yeah,
an iceberg,
right,
then I'm not pushing my chips in.
Not even necessarily an iceberg.
Like it could blow up,
it combust in the fall,
but like just knowing like we are,
it's not going to,
we can't sustain this to the off season.
It's like the Dallas Goddard,
you know,
Josh Swett,
like,
all right,
we're going to have a separation in the spring.
Well,
it's difficult because you,
you should make your decisions
based on new information,
but the decision,
decision they made last off season was in service of keeping this core together.
Yes.
And not just going one last ride.
Yeah.
Right?
Because if you go one last ride, you're...
But you don't look at it like one last ride because you think you recoup the draft stuff anyway.
By what trading AJ Brown?
Yeah, you get the draft capital back with a...
Yeah, but you're also, if you think your team's not going to be that good, then you're giving up...
I think you're overweading like the like short term impact of making that decision.
like the short term like okay this is untenable it can't last through the off season like the fact that you wouldn't do it at the trade deadline well there are a lot of factors there but one of them would probably be your belief that the team would contend that season i also think you have to be realistic about yeah is this team worth sacrificing a second round pick right yeah jenricksson and is he all that's going to take you're like you know is they're going to solve everything right i i'm a little queasy about giving up a second round pick i wouldn't i wouldn't be given up a second round pick for this team so you're migrating hendricksson then i think i
I see.
I don't.
So, okay.
I would probably migrate Henderson and Phillips.
Well, because I think Phillips is going to take something real also.
Yeah.
I think Phillips would take something real.
And I just don't want to.
I'd rather.
I don't want to invest in Dylan Phillips personally.
Yeah.
I think,
I think,
so I think we're in agreement then.
Peck Hendrickson.
Yeah.
Ness.
Germaine Johnson.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yes.
Migrant.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We got that.
Great question.
Uh, Mr. Sandman.
Every play is designed to work against any.
defense if it's executed correctly. Problem
is. It's very difficult to execute a play
perfect when the defense knows what
is coming. I think that's
Sage. Yeah.
If you execute it well, yeah.
Wise wisdom, what?
Nothing. I'll defer to Fran.
Well, you don't think every play.
I mean, it's designed against every defense.
There's certain route concepts that are just like...
Sure, you're not going to do like a play action
like eight step drop back against
an all-blitz. Some route concepts are just designed to beat
certain coverages. And like, I guess you can have like good versus all, like, or, you know,
half field reads and stuff like that. But yeah, but generally I think that that is the truth.
Yeah. Yeah. Pat Fienis checks in with the Super Chance says, is the way you view this coaching
matchup report based on fear of O'Connell's last or lack of confidence in Siriani Petulow and Vic.
I'm sorry. I need to read that again.
I just caught her like completely losing.
Super chat from Pat Fienis
is the way you view this coaching matchup
more based on fear of O'Connell and Flores
or lack of confidence in Siriani Petulow Fangio.
Yes.
Yeah, I think that it's both.
It's probably more the former.
I just, to me, I've got a great deal of respect
for Kevin O'Connell and for Brian Flores.
I think they are,
for the respective positions, like in the top five in both?
Like, in terms of like, I'm a little bit.
A little skeptical of O'Connell.
Okay.
Yeah.
Just a little.
I get that.
I get it.
Relative to the talent that he's had, I think he's done an excellent.
I think he's done a very good job.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Now, but let me ask you, Fran, if like to use one of your expressions that I've been using
a lot recently and I had to explain to someone in my personal life recently,
if the Eagles coaching staff
had been nails this season
do you, would you feel better?
How did you explain that to somebody?
You got to be sharp.
Okay, okay.
Yeah.
If they were,
if they had been nails this season.
If who had been nails?
If the Eagles offensive coaches.
Yeah, right.
I felt like, man,
these guys,
they're scheming stuff up.
They have answers
against all these different looks.
You probably would feel.
You feel a little bit better about it.
Yeah.
You'd feel a little bit better.
You'd still be worried about this one.
I think that Brian Flores,
anytime you go up against him,
it's going to be a concern
no matter what.
Okay.
Yeah.
I think he is one of those
defensive coordinators
like a Fangio,
like a,
you know,
Todd Bowles,
like he is one of those
play callers where
it doesn't matter.
Like if you,
you could,
if you have a good day,
if he has a great day,
he's going to beat you.
Okay.
All right.
Okay.
The super chats brought out
some really good discussions today.
Like,
I agree.
We were talking about love is blind
at like the 30 minute mark
and now we're getting to some real
like meat and potatoes football talk.
I mean,
we got the EJ 11.
I mean,
yeah,
the EJ.
What did you read?
Yeah,
Yeah, great idea.
I mean, it was your idea.
You're talking about.
It's got your name on it.
Ladies and gentlemen, exciting day at PHY.
Welcome to the show.
Our newest Eagles producer, ladies and gentlemen,
Lindsay!
Give it up, give it up in the chat.
Lindsay's awesome.
It's going to be a great addition to the team.
for sure.
We haven't heard her laugh yet, though.
Oh, Lindsay's going to fit in great.
She is going to fit so well.
Oh, man.
Fantastic.
I agree.
I don't think you've been fun.
I don't think we've earned a good laugh either.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You got to earn it.
I mean, all we did was read Pat Fienis.
Multiple times.
Yes.
All right.
Let's get to Swoper.
this week is me, Fran E.J.
My first item is...
This is a bit of a new one. You're gonna bilk us of our turkeys?
What you're laughing at? That is, that's a word?
You know what's funny? I saw a post on social media last week.
Some of it was, uh, don't get bilked by side. And I was like, oh, I know that word.
It was like the Leo meme. Now, it's very possible that my phone was just listening to us last
week. And so, like, but yeah.
Here's my item. Okay.
A Vikings or is?
Eagles player with the corresponding
jersey number to the amount of
turkeys this item sells for
scores the touchdown.
And you gotta start.
A Vikings or Eagles player with the
corresponding jersey number to the amount of
turkeys this item sells for.
That's a cool one.
Scores a touchdown. Yeah.
And I will start the bidding at one.
I'm about to say you have to start it at one.
Uh, two.
A little John Dotson.
All right.
My man.
My man calling a Dotson touchdown.
So talk this through.
We can talk it through.
Three.
Okay.
Jordan Addison.
We have the same page.
We're all just looking at the roster pages.
My lads, yep.
So, uh, Vikings roster.
They've got Addison at three.
Yeah, I'm not feeling good about.
There's really only one other place to go.
Do I let you have a three Jordan Addison touchdown?
Do you jump to six?
Or does one of us jump to six for Devante Smith?
Three going once.
Three going twice.
Yeah, I think I got it.
Yeah, okay.
That's what I was just about to say.
He said, I kind of wanted to do it, but it took too long.
I'm going to let you have Jordan Addison for three.
That's a good one.
That is a good one.
I kind of wish I had gone Devante for six, but too late.
Jordan Addison has played two games since returning from suspension in week four.
He had four for 114 in Pittsburgh, caught the game-winning touchdown.
in Cleveland in week five.
He's got 20 career receiving touchdowns.
That's the fifth most since entering the NFL in 2023.
He is a touchdown maker for this offense.
Honestly, if I had more turkeys,
jumping to 11 there is an interesting play.
You get Wence and A.J. Brown.
I'll get Wence too. That's true.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I didn't have enough turkeys.
Yeah, that's fair.
To justify that expenditure.
All right.
Over to Fran.
All right, my first one is I pull up my message to Julia from earlier.
Okay.
First one.
Carson Wentz accounts for more turnovers than Jalen Hertz.
So we're saying fumbles and interceptions thrown.
Obviously, we don't know that for sure that Carson's going to play in the game.
So there's some risk associated with those.
What if one of them takes a snap on defense and forces a turnover?
Sure.
Yeah, we'll count that.
Okay, I agree.
If they are on special teams.
Counts.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So accounts for turnover works both ways.
Correct.
Yes.
So if they throw a pick,
but then force a fumble.
Does that count as two?
Does that count as turn?
Yes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But the by like that counts as a fumble loss from the D.D.
Yeah.
Yes.
Okay.
So I mean.
If they have possession.
Right.
In the spirit of like the turn in the spirit of turnover is wouldn't you say that forcing one should like take one off their tally?
No.
He says accounts for.
Accounts.
It's not it's not the net value.
All right.
All right.
And so this is whence is more than.
Wentz has more.
Wentz has more turnover.
over's than her than what did you uh we are starting the bidding at three four um five six six going once
six going twice going twice six old you don't get to decide that your silence decided that
okay over to e j all right i have to find my entries oh my god get two to prepare
I had a lot of stuff to go through today with the EJ.
Oh, wow.
All right.
It worked so hard for the show.
Figuring out my love is blind question.
I'm ready.
Now you're just, now you're just...
All right.
It took me 20 minutes to find out the name of the show.
It took me a while to come up with the EJ 11.
Let's be real.
Sequin Barkley surpasses one of the following.
89 rushing yards,
22 carries, or 25 yards on a single run.
I like this one.
It's good.
be, would be season highs.
Now, at least one of the following.
Yes.
Okay.
I should have clarified that.
I apologize.
That's a good one.
I like this one.
Where are you starting the bidding at?
I'm going to start it at one because I don't have that many turkeys.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Five going once?
Six.
Seven.
Seven.
Yeah.
I mean, I can't afford that.
Seven going twice?
I mean, you can.
It's ultimate.
I literally can, but principally cannot.
Is that a word principally?
Sure.
Now I need to know.
How did we all feel one day later about cream tube?
I would love to retire that one.
Yeah.
This is like my grabby grab.
Yes.
Principally is a word for the record.
Yeah, of course it's a word.
Fran was pretty definitive about it.
I'm just going to say not a word.
Once we start swimming around.
Like you're walking around here like you own the place.
You're walking around all principally.
I like the way I use it better.
Obviously,
it's not the word.
It's a principal joke.
The National Principal Month right now.
Let's go.
Danes,
item number four.
The Eagles have fewer real drives without a first down than do the Vikings.
Eagles have fewer real drives.
So we're not counting end of half nil downs without a first down.
then do the Vikings.
So three and outs and turnovers.
The egos have fewer of them.
Yeah.
Than the Vikings.
Evidence in the chat seems to be responding
overwhelmingly that they love Cream Tube, just to say it.
I don't think I've gotten that vibe.
I will start the bidding at two.
Three, four, five.
Five going once.
Six.
Do you have first time or touchdown?
they score first play touchdown
I think that counts
touchdown's count his first down
Got it
Yeah
Is it six
Six yeah
Good
Dr. Prince Bluice says
Swoper needs a turkey loan bank
For EJ
We'll get first
Six going once
Six going twice
Sold
It was to you right
The man in the plaid
But really that was to you
Or no
The man in the plaid
The man
in the fewer drives without a first down.
Yes.
For the Eagles, okay.
A lot of faith in the Eagles offense.
And it was real drives,
which means the kneels don't,
the nail downs don't count.
Correct.
Over to me.
Item number five,
I have 16 turkeys for En as 21.
E.J. has 11.
The Eagles defense out sacks
the Vikings defense.
Start the bidding at three.
Eagles defense, of course,
has one sack on the season
from their edge rushers.
Still on the team.
I'm taking this as a Carson Wentz submission for you.
This is just a we haven't seen the Eagles.
Yeah.
You have a lot of sacks.
And I think we all expect that the Vikings are going to get home in this game.
So you're going against it, but three going once.
Three going twice.
I got sold.
You're down to 13.
Correct.
Welcome to my life.
You stole at 11.
Yeah, I know.
Yeah.
Just make sure.
budget chopping like me.
All right, my next one.
All right.
You guys liked that one I did last week with like the bonus turkey.
So I did a little something similar.
Okay.
All right.
A.J. Brown has fewer than 45 yards receiving.
Now, if this one does not hit.
So if he has more than 45 yards receiving.
You get one bonus turkey next week for every point that A.J. Brown accounts for in the game.
So if he goes for 100 yards and two touchdowns, he would account for 12 points.
Oh, agency points?
No, 12.
So, sorry, like, he's worth two touchdowns.
A touchdown is worth six points.
So it's any point he accounts for in the game.
So it makes a field goal.
He gets three points.
Correct.
Yeah.
If he catches a two point play, that'll be two points.
Okay.
That's good.
Yeah.
All right.
But it's AJ Brown has fewer than 45 yards receiving.
We'll start the bidding at three.
Wait.
So only if he doesn't hit it.
Only if he doesn't hit it, do you then get the bonus turkey?
Okay.
So if he has 40 yards receiving in three touchdowns, you still don't get any of those.
Correct.
Correct.
Okay.
Got me?
I got you.
So you're rooting.
You get a little bit of insurance.
A little bit of insurance on it.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yep.
And what do you start at?
I started at three.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Six going once.
Six going twice.
Sold to E.J.
I'm on the board.
It always worries me when Fran doesn't want anything to do with the ones that he submits.
Over to you, E.J.
Strategy.
I'm a little bit nervous.
Strategy?
Strategy.
He's never had 45 yards receiving against a Brian Flores defense.
Hmm.
So you saved that until after.
That was why I made the number 45.
All right.
My second entry,
Jalen Hertz is sacked more times than Carson Wentz and or J.J. McCarthy.
Oh, so this is the exact same item that I had.
I mean,
I asked you if you had one and you said that you were,
you kind of like soft peddled it,
so I didn't think you really did.
I have a different one.
Okay.
I'm going to start the bidding at one.
Feeling Hertz is sacked more times than Carson,
Wend, Sandor, JJ, McCarthy.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Seven.
Seven going once.
Eight.
I can't let you have both of them.
Nine.
Nine.
10
10 going once
10 going twice
sold
I couldn't let you have it
okay
over to Danez
item eight
the Eagles attempt an under center
play action pass
they have one on the season
I forget maybe not yeah
it's not many
one
two
three times a lady
I'm sticking
and still two
well if I mean if you want
If you want to say that counts, touch move, that's fine.
No, it's fine.
I'm just wondering what's wrong with you.
Lots of stuff.
Is it two or three right now?
Do I take it at three?
No, I think it's a two.
Okay.
Two going once.
Two going twice.
Three.
I'm out.
Three going once.
Three going twice.
Sold.
I just need like some, some cheap ones.
I think you might get that.
I think you might still get that.
That's, I think that's good value.
All right, over to me and my last one.
Item number nine,
a former eagle is involved in a turnover.
So, Carson Wentz turns the ball over.
Isaiah Rogers is involved in a turnover.
I like this.
Eric Wilson is involved in a turnover.
J. Von Hargrave is involved in a turnover.
Or the Vikings promote Kavon Wallace from the practice squad.
Oh, Cavellon.
Wow, I didn't know that.
What a lovely duo of reactions there.
Now involved is they either force fumble,
force fumble, interception,
it is not just box score because,
yes, if they, yeah, if Isaiah Rogers tips a ball
that is then intercepted by someone else that counts.
We have seen that before.
Yes.
What are you starting the bidding at?
I am starting the bidding at four.
I hate you so much.
Well, I could have said five and not giving you a chance.
Yeah, well, now you're just, you gave me false hope.
It's even worse.
You know I'm not going to get it.
So we're betting on, I mean, this is when's going to be the quarterback?
I don't know.
Five.
I'll go six.
I should have started at five.
Yeah.
This is like when the older sibling holds the baller.
So that the younger sibling can't get it.
God.
Six going once.
Six going twice.
Sold.
Okay.
This is a good little range here.
We got three questions left.
I've got seven turkeys,
Fran's got eight, EJ's got five.
Can I give you a quick Kvon Wallace flex?
This is a real flex.
Yeah.
Won an award for a story
I wrote about Kvon Wallace.
Really?
Yeah.
What was the award?
Kvon Wallace Foundation Award for Best Story?
An APJ salute to Excellence Award.
Oh.
What was the hook of the story?
I was about him overcoming some, you know,
pretty serious childhood circumstances.
and about a mentor that he had who helped him through a lot of that stuff.
So he's got a great story.
Yeah.
It's wonderful to finally have an award-winning Eagles journalist covering this team on show.
I'm not touching that.
That's great.
Good for you.
The lady, congratulations.
Thank you.
Shout out to Kvon Wala.
Shout out to Kvon Wals.
Great story.
And black and brown people.
Yes, all over the place.
Yeah.
And the openness that they elicit from one former Eagles podcast host.
Yes.
I did figure my...
The award, where the award came from.
Anyway, item number 10, what are you, friend?
All right.
The broadcasts...
The broadcast shows video or photos from Super Bowl 52.
can be from in the game.
It could be before the game or post game.
Pre-game?
But it mostly, like, basically it's, I'm saying it.
Once the broadcast window starts.
Yeah, broadcast window starts.
I was talking about the, so it could be them hosting the hoisting the trophy.
It could be Nick Foles.
Oh, yeah.
The footage has to be from February 4th, 2018.
Got it.
Okay, so the broadcast.
Yeah, so not the pre-game show.
I mean, it's a Fox game.
Yeah, we got G-reg for this game, I believe.
Ah, nice.
What you do get?
We had a, uh,
Rob Majoris.
This is the first Craig Olson game.
So I got like these chickens,
hodge eric is in the house and I'm fin to make his house.
I believe so.
It's the first Greg Olson game of the year, right?
Well, that's how you know.
I haven't done that yet.
Yeah, that's true.
Um, um,
I'll start the bidding at seven.
Rands for seven.
Yeah, I mean, it's a good one.
I think what it's done in dusty.
I feel with,
with Wentz in that stadium.
I feel like it went.
I think that's a little hanging front.
Okay, over to you, E.J.
All right.
We talked about Isaiah Rogers a little bit on the show,
but I wanted to bring him into Swooper.
I know you already did, but...
An Eagles wide receiver catches a pass of 20 or more yards
with Isaiah Rogers as the nearest defender.
I feel like this is maybe a little bit of a hot take
about Isaiah Rogers.
But the one thing that he struggled with last year
that we saw is, like, at the catch point
against the receivers.
So like A.J. Brown as a matchup, I feel like there is a chance.
Like, you can't tell me that A.J. Brown wouldn't win like a 50-50 ball downfield against Isaiah Rogers.
You disagree?
People are telling us that Greg Olson did do maybe the Rams game this year.
I'm going to open the bidding at one.
Two.
Three.
Is this a 20-plus-yard catch period or 20-plus yards downfield?
Downfield.
Okay.
So it's a deep ball.
That's different.
You're at three right now?
Mm-hmm.
Four.
We got what, like one left?
One left.
Dan,
David.
Over to you if you want it.
You want it?
Yeah,
I want it.
Five.
There's old.
Who needs the turkeys for next week?
Not you, apparently.
Okay.
We got seven one to zero.
Turkeys, right?
You have seven?
Correct.
Okay.
We head to the last one from the professor.
I just have to an addendum to item to item to item eight.
I didn't read the rule before.
It's just a normal auction, so everything's fine.
But the winner gets to keep this item for future weeks until it finally hits,
dot, dot, assuming it never does.
Assuming it ever does.
Beautiful.
Oh, I love that.
No, no, no.
It wasn't red.
It wasn't red.
I know.
I messed up.
I'm sorry, but you don't get that.
It wasn't, that wasn't.
No way.
I don't get the extension.
I don't.
Yeah, you bid on it.
We all bid on it thinking it was.
Under center play action.
You absolutely do not get that.
It's just like going to a, you know, one of the, where they open up a storage unit.
And I bid on a, I bid on an item.
There was gold inside.
I get what's good.
Absolutely not.
And you know, and you know that you got that.
I had gotten this.
What would you be saying?
But you didn't.
Absolutely not.
No.
You get the item as bid.
How about this?
We'll let the professor.
How about this?
Tomorrow.
Yeah.
Okay.
You get the option.
okay well no because what you paid no i got paid free for it i guess i get to pay three for it every week i don't
know i like that that's that's good in between let's do it next week next week how about next week
we do it as an item yeah how about next week it's an extra 13th item oh and it goes into bidding to
start swooper and it's it's you get the same thing that he talked about i think i should just get it
one more.
We'll let Dana is because
Dana is might to have a thought in terms of
like the
the theory behind it because he's one who came up with it.
Scott G. in the chat says jump ball.
You guys did have a pop a shot competition
before this. We did.
We do. Technically
pop a shot is it's really more
just a shooting contest. Yeah. True.
I won. Yeah.
All right. Last item.
Okay. Okay. Item 12.
Make sure you're readable. I'm reading. I'm reading
that I know. First,
first price. First price.
sealed bid auction with turkey back guarantee.
Rules.
Player submits sealed bids.
Highest bidder wins the item and pays their own bid.
If the item doesn't hit,
the player gets a full refund of turkeys spent on the item.
If there is a tie,
continue with a normal auction to break the tie.
Okay.
If it doesn't hit, you get your turkeys back.
He doesn't hit.
You get your turkeys back.
It does you spend them.
Okay.
And the item.
It goes win.
and I'm borrowing from next week
Yes, you're allowed to borrow from next week
Okay, everybody understand
You bid whatever you want
But if the item doesn't hit you get those turkeys back
Wait, one more quick question
What if I lose the bidding?
Do I then do I still lose it?
No, no, no, it's only yeah
The turkey's only, the turkey's only spent by the winner
Cool
Okay, and the item
Item
Eagles win
Okay, okay, interesting
All right, I got EJs
Okay, okay
Did you send yours?
I've got mine here.
So basically you're just like trying to decide
how many turkeys you're willing to part with next week.
If they get the point.
Yeah, if they get the point.
Yeah.
So good, this is a fun one.
I'm interested to see where everybody lands.
All right, E.J., you have zero turkeys.
How many did you bid?
12.
12.
Fran, you have one turkey.
How many did you bid?
Six.
Six.
Bo, you had seven turkeys.
How many were you willing to bid?
17.
Oh, 17.
So I'm spending 17 turkeys, which gives me minus 10 heading into next week if the
Eagles win the game.
If not, I get those 17 turkeys back.
I think it makes sense for you because you have more entries than me, so you're kind of going
for it this week.
I was surprised you went as high as you did.
Yeah.
Yeah.
What's the, well, I'm not going to out.
The upside is like I get all three of my entries and I could put theoretically win that.
Yeah.
So EJ has, AJ Brown has fewer than 45 yards receiving and you get the little insurance there.
And you have an Eagles wide receiver has a catch at least 20 yards down field with Isaiah Rogers as the closest defender.
Fran, Jordas and Addison touchdown. Carson Wentz has more turnovers than Jalen Hertz.
Jalen Hertz is sacked more than Carson Wentz and J.J. McCarthy under center play action.
And the broadcast shows something from Super Bowl 52.
It's a murderers.
I need a win this week, man.
I have Sequin Barclay has one of the season highs,
either on total yards, longest run or carries.
The Eagles have fewer drives of no first downs than the Vikings.
The Eagles defense out sacks the Vikings defense.
An ex-Eagle is responsible for or is involved in a turnover,
and the Eagles win the game.
There you go.
Here you go.
What a wild ride today's show was, huh?
It's fun.
Good stuff.
Yeah.
Anything else?
You, I mean, this is your last show of the week.
If there's anything else, you did prep-wise, you want to get off your chest?
Anybody in the chat have any questions for Lindsay?
Share them now.
We got a long time.
We got a long time to get to know, Lindsay.
Oh, we have a couple extra super chats.
Super chats flowing today.
Fresh Prince.
If you could hire any offensive coach to come in and call plays for this offense,
who would it be and how it would it look
Shane Steichen
That's a funny answer
J.J. Kinney
Who's like somebody who's old
who like wouldn't want to leave
Oh so you're just
You want the long-term investment
Well I think Shane Steikin's the answer
But like is there like a great play caller
That's like Vic Fangio but offense
Probably not
I mean probably Sean Payton is the closest to that right
Honestly Sean Peyton might be my answer
It's kind of a D bag
yeah but you would like that
no I think he's he's someone
that if you if he's your coach
he's like you like you like him
not me not yeah
you know what I mean yeah
um
I'll mention this isn't this isn't necessarily
my answer
but I am fascinated to see what happens
with Mike McDaniel
yeah
yeah well he and Vic don't get along
probably
I don't know yeah I don't know that that's
necessarily true
yeah I don't know
that could be true
I've been let's definitely
I don't know if it's a definite.
Okay.
I'm sticking with Shane.
I think Shane's the right answer.
Not the right answer, but it's my answer.
I don't want to, I don't want to puff up and guy up, the guy up.
But I think, I mean, I do think that McVeigh would make this offense look better.
I mean, the, the pairing of Sean McVeigh with Howie Roseman, I think would be that was like,
I think there would be a lot of, they would be able to mitigate a lot of McVeigh's shortcomings as a coach.
Have you ever had that conversation before?
About how McVeigh and Howie might work together?
No.
Oh.
This was the, uh, I think it would be commercial.
The group chat topic.
The group chat topic where I was talking with it with, uh, Sheel and she and I texted
about it after.
Got it.
Sorry.
So I wasn't a part of the group chat either.
Yeah.
And then I wasn't even a part of the secondary chat.
So I'm like double left out.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Sorry, Fran.
I'll just go off myself, I guess.
All right.
Oh, a fresh prince says,
what are your thoughts on Mark Sanchez?
I already told you that he was,
I associate him with that depressing Thanksgiving
that we shared together, Fran.
So that's all I'm going to say about that.
Yeah.
That's all we got.
Wonderful show today.
Give the love to Julia in the chat.
That's wonderful.
But Julie's going to be here.
No, no but.
It's not going anywhere.
Just let them, just let her, let them.
No, give them love.
Of course.
But what you should know is, at least during the season,
Julia's still going to produce at least one show a week.
We're going to, you know, this is not a, this is not a divorce.
No.
We're just opening things up.
I also want to clarify, because there were some questions in the chat about my comments from earlier.
Julia has been the head of production.
The entire time I've been here, she's been doing both jobs.
So hats off to Julia for, you know, taking care of all the spinning plates everywhere.
but welcome to Lindsay to help take some of that load off or back.
Spending plates.
DJ Julia.
DJ OJ.
DJ OJ.
Pretty good.
You make so many bad jokes tonight.
You can't just give me just a little.
It's for spinning plates.
Yeah.
DJ Julia.
I thought that was kind of funny.
All right.
Thank you to Cliff for joining us on the show today.
That was a pleasure.
That was a lot of fun.
Thank you to EJ for the EJ 11.
Thank you to Frann.
And that'll do it.
We're back tomorrow.
2 o'clock, the professor will be here.
And as always, Julia, we love you.
