The man rocks PHLY merch better than anybody else in the business.
A lot to talk about.
We're going to get to the newest Eagles quarterback added to the roster.
A little breakdown of what's going on on.
offense and defense how you guys do it doing doing well how are you bu i'm okay how you've been sleeping
thank you for asking long day to the anthony show this morning it's going to be a punchy friday how about
you bill j it was a punchy pregame yeah you know off the you know don't do the show before the show but
it was a very uh clots clots clots clots clots this wasn't exhausting season like you we do all this
stuff in the off season to like talk about what we're going to expect and then let's throw it out all the
it's so funny to think about like it did in the middle of august
imagining that we would be here in week six
talking about an offensive line
of Willie Lampkin, Jake Majors, and Mark Lowe,
Damien Pierce, the running back, and Tanner McKee a quarterback.
I'm trying to decide if it's a good thing that it's only week six.
Right.
Or if it's just like, you know.
Sunday we'll test whether you can't continue,
then you can actually only get better.
But before we get into all of that,
we are very pleased to be joined now by Dr. John Luchsch
from Roth.
orthopedics who's going to give us some expertise on the Jalen Hertz situation.
Thank you for joining us, doctor.
Hey, good afternoon, guys.
Thank you for having me.
Happy to be here.
Thank you for joining us.
I imagine this is like,
when you are in Philadelphia and something like this happens to the quarterback,
you must be hearing from like everybody in your life being like,
hey, what's going to happen with Jalen?
Yeah.
Oh, definitely.
I was getting questions about it before I,
even heard the news or saw the story.
Right.
So yeah, inquiring minds always want to know.
All right, so let's get into it.
Tell us first, what is a, what is a superficial blood clot?
And when the Eagles say that the second ultrasound revealed that it had moved, what does that
tell you?
What is the, what are the alarm bells that go off?
Sure.
So, so I think there's a couple important, like, distinctions to make first.
So, you know, just real brief anatomy, not to bore you guys, but veins.
Please.
Take your blood from your organs, from your muscles, different tissues throughout the body,
return it back to your heart so it can then go to the lungs and get oxygen.
Whereas arteries are taking your blood from your heart and pumping it to your organs,
your muscles, all your different tissues.
So arteries have muscles within the walls of them that allow it.
to pump, kind of like how the heart pumps.
But veins do not.
So veins are a passive system.
So the way blood will get recirculated is either through gravity from the upper part of the
body or from walking and movement on the lower part of the body.
And your venous system, especially in the lower body, has veins that are deep and then veins
that are more superficial closer to the surface.
when you hear about people getting a blood clot after, you know, an injury or surgery or something like that.
You're being cleated as we heard from Jalen, yeah?
Yeah, the first concern is, is it in the deep veins?
Because the problem with that is that it could potentially break off, migrate into the lungs, and then you have a big, big problem.
But superficial veins, they are just that.
They're superficial.
And they typically are, you know, less concerning, less problematic.
But obviously there's, you know, like outliers to every situation.
And, you know, there's a potential that a superficial clot could migrate and move into the deeper veins.
So then to answer your second question about, you know, the second ultrasound, right?
ultrasound is a great way to diagnose the clot initially, right?
Because it allows you to check the flow of the blood vessels.
And you could see if there's obstruction of the flow.
But it can be used to check your superficial veins and your deep veins.
Those two systems connect.
So if you have a clot that is a big size or it's in an area near a connection between the
the superficial in the deep veins,
then you wanna monitor the progress
to make sure it's not getting dangerously close
to the deeper circulation.
Because the way you manage and treat that is different.
Okay.
So I think part of what is odd from the outside looking in
is the complication of these international flights
the Eagles had.
We know, or at least have heard
that flights are a complicated.
for clots in theory not ideal that he was going to have to fly there and fly back why is that
and i guess just why is that yeah so yeah um so part of it goes back to what i was saying about veins
not having like you know muscles within them to pump blood back up to the heart so when you're
sitting like you are on a seven eight hour plane ride right your blood is going to pool in
your lower extremity. And, you know, that's why we tell people, you know, if you're going to
go on a long flight, where compression stockings get up every couple hours, walk around, move
your legs, right, because it'll help recirculate the blood. But, you know, if you're sitting
for a long period of time, obviously, that puts you at a higher risk. So, you know, and then
the other thing to consider is that, you know, like stasis, right, is, is the, it's the, you
the term for things being sedentary or not, not moving.
But stasis of blood in the venous circulation is a potential risk factor for developing a clot,
as is injury or damage to the tissue, as is, you know, other underlying conditions that
might predispose you to being, to developing a clot, right?
There's certain genetic conditions that can do that too.
But if you're somebody like Jalen who had an injury,
which causes damage to the tissue and the blood vessels,
and then on top of that, you have a period of immobility like a transatlantic flight,
that could predispose you or make you more likely to then go on to develop a blood clot,
compared to somebody who didn't.
not have the type of degree that he did.
Okay, so without knowing the actual specifics and having seen, you know, his work up yourself,
what is your understanding of what rehab and the path to getting back on the field is going to
look like for Jalen?
Well, hopefully for Jalen first as like an individual and a human being, it's a pretty
quick, easy and uncomplicated delivery or recovery.
And then for, you know, then secondarily Jaylen the football player and the Eagles and the fans, right?
Like obviously everyone there hopes that it's a quick recovery.
But, you know, the recovery depends on a couple different factors.
So number one, how big is the clot?
Like what's the size of number two?
What's the location, right?
And that was the reason for, you know, the second ultrasound, right?
You're following along to see is it growing or is it staying the same size?
Is it migrating or moving to one of those areas where the superficial and the deep veins connect?
So, you know, without knowing that specifically, I wouldn't be able to necessarily give you a timeline.
But, you know, I'll tell you, if it, you know, there's different criteria and risks that you could look at,
if it's within a certain distance of some of these junctions where the two views,
Venus systems come together, then it could be six to eight weeks. It could be three months,
right? It depends on the nature of what treatment needs to be done. Got it. Go ahead.
Yeah, I was, I was curious, Dr. I've been, you know, we've been hearing a lot about how if he has to go on
blood thinners, that would mean that he misses probably multiple months.
and then there was this alternative that I heard that he could have the clot removed via surgery.
Is the surgery option one that could expedite a return, or is it something that would also involve multiple months?
That's a great question.
And not being like a vascular surgeon or a hematologist, like a physician that specializes in, you know, blood disorders, I don't want to mislead you.
I mean, logic would dictate that if you have that procedure and remove the clot, that recovery should be quicker.
But again, it depends on the size and the location because even though you're removing the clot, right, they may still want to continue a blood thinning medication for a period of time after doing that.
And then, you know, to your point being on blood thinners and playing, you know, a sport that is, you know,
as contact heavy and collision heavy as football is,
you know, it could be incredibly, incredibly dangerous for somebody
who's on a blood thinning medication.
Okay.
Nice thing.
Okay.
All right.
Well, Dr. John Luch, thank you so much for the insight.
We really appreciate it.
You're welcome.
It's my pleasure, guys.
Nice talking to you.
Thank you so much.
Dr. John Luchsch from Rothman.
An unluxy week for the Eagles and season so far.
you're working on that one uh
lucksh be a lady
tonight
hard luck for the eagles
BLG help
uh okay so
Jalen hurts
not great
what was your reaction
about this day it is
I mean
I almost said it on the show
with all the injuries
that were happening
and then I didn't say it
but I think we were all thinking
like I mean
the news has been about as bad
in terms of injuries
retirement trade
you know whatever
like roster depletion
as it can get.
And, you know, I was, like, I almost said,
well, you know, the one thing that, you know,
really ruins seasons usually,
which is QB1 going down.
At least that hasn't happened.
I think we have a photographic on this from Jordan Milata,
who I think appropriately addressed this situation.
Somebody put a curse on us.
I thought he said that he spoke a week too soon
when he called last week the week from him.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
Maybe this is what they need to turn it around.
And what they really need is another quarterback.
And guess what?
It's not Andy Dalton.
Yes.
BLG, who did they sign?
Signed Joe Milton, the third of the Cowboys practice squad.
Milton Joe.
Honestly, that move made me excited.
Which tells you where we are.
Yeah.
But also, because I was really concerned it would be.
Dalton yeah and to me even if you think the season's still on I just what what value what is
Andy Dalton what can we learn from watching Andy Dalton play for the Philadelphia Eagles nothing
like he shouldn't be I don't want him taking up a practice squad spot I'd rather have the
practice squad player that they would make room for him there's just no reason for him to be on the
team whether they're trying to compete just so things they are or if the season's lost then there's
really no point now we don't know that they didn't offer the practice yeah I think they probably
He had said he didn't want to be on the practice squad.
Well, regardless, that he's not here.
I'm happy about that.
And if he comes back, I'll be mad.
And there's one thing we know Joe Milton can do.
I think we have this video, Lindsay.
This is what he's famous for.
Great look at the power of a professional athlete compared to a normal man.
Men,
since him having a cat for the delivery guy.
The guy wants him to throw it hard.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm going to be able to get a guy
It's fantastic
So that's what they've got
Big arm
Good
Probably not a very good quarterback
I mean that guy's going to be playing on the team soon
It's the way it's the way the roster's going
Yeah. It's good that he's developing chemistry with him.
Well, they need to sign a third quarterback, in part because they spent all summer doing this charade with Andy Dahl and Tanner McKee, and that meant they didn't get to prepare Cole Payton to be able to play.
They clearly don't trust him to play.
Except as the personal protector.
They didn't play him in the preseason, barely.
I mean, stupid.
I'm going to go to my deathbed complaining about all of them.
the time they wasted Dylan McMahon on this backup quarterback.
And now this.
Yeah,
I would go.
How do you?
Dylan McMahon is a distant third.
Okay,
I was going to say.
It's really hard to tell.
Beckness migrate.
The Ellis quarterback two thing,
which is,
which is more maddening.
What about like Kerry Vincent?
I did love that.
That was a great trade.
Actually,
if you actually had to Peckness,
my grade,
no,
it's really Ford.
Peckness,
my grade,
your future references to these three things.
My future references?
Yeah.
I know you're not going to migrate any of them.
I'm certainly going to migrate Dylan McMahon.
Okay.
Um,
oh, that's good.
It's a good question.
I think I probably got a,
I think I got a nest this.
Yeah.
And just peck Christian Ellis?
Wow.
All right.
Recency bias?
I think there's a recency.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We both said it.
One of them was a,
was a stupefying decision in the moment
that betrayed their own knowledge of their own players.
The other was a farcical plan.
Right.
That was executed over the course of many months.
More premeditated.
And being bizarre every step of the way.
Yeah.
As opposed to making like one decision that you just got it long.
And only got more stupefying the further along we got.
Yes.
Fran is bringing up Casey Two Hill as a fourth.
Casey Two Hill.
Casey Toill is worse than the Dylan McMahon situation.
I agree.
Okay.
But still a distant third.
The fact that they got all the way to the third preseason game
and played those two guys and not call Peyton.
Marriott.
Here we are.
And now if Tanner McKee looks terrible on Sunday,
at least we can blame that.
We're going to talk about Tanner McKee and what to expect from the offense

today. Back in the P.H.O.I. Eagles podcast, Bo, the professor and BLG, it's time now or settle in?
It's presented by Ashley, professor, Tim Settle. Yeah, Tim Settle.
In or out. Here's what the Eagles locker room had to say about Tanner McKee.
All of this consternation, the Eagles is clearly losing faith in their backup court.
back. And yet I spent some time in the locker room yesterday.
Guy after guy after guy talking about how much they love Tanner McKee, unprompted.
And then here's what Zach Bond said. Listen to this. I love that guy so much.
I told someone that it's just seeming like he's got some sort of Tom Brady career arc to him.
because he's totally capable.
He's tall.
He knows where to go with the ball.
He gets it out on time,
and he's got a lot of confidence in these receivers.
I don't think you're buying or selling Tom Brady
as a fair comp.
I don't think Tom Brady would have a lot of confidence
in these receivers.
That's where I think he's...
Tom Brady.
That's a pretty unexpected job.
Drafted in the same amount.
And it's not coming from like, you know,
Joe Shmoe, that's coming from
Zach Bond
Tom Brady
it's gonna be it
Zach Bonn is the ultimate
positive guy
in that in that locker room I would say
no one of them
doesn't seem to have a whole lot
of negative energy
Jordan Davis to a almost comical degree
yeah yeah but Zach Bonn
and I'm more
I don't know sincere way maybe
he's not
he's relaying a story
that he's already been talking to
other people about him being Tom Brady.
Same round.
Does that make Jalen Hurts drew blood so?
Well, let's hope.
That'd be tough. Probably not.
Let's not. Let's hope he's not bleeding that much.
He brought it up.
I had a question for you, Bo. Did any of the players seem taken aback by the fact that,
from what I understand, they didn't hear about the fact that Jalen was out until they got to practice?
Yesterday, the vibe in locker room yesterday
from the people who were in there,
I would say 30% full.
Okay.
There was a lightness to it.
That was a little bit surprising.
And it was almost,
it was kind of like gallows humor.
It was like,
we've already,
it's week six and now our quarterback
as a blood clot,
what else could happen?
Like even in the Milata press conference,
like Jalen Carter
sneaking up behind him
and popping up in the video.
It's like,
there was a surprise
lightness to what was going on,
which I don't know.
I think that's good, I guess.
It's fine.
What else are you going to,
you have to laugh?
Exactly.
Relative to the Hertz aspect of it all,
there were a couple guys who I was asking about,
like, what was the flight home like?
And Britton Covey was talking about how,
yeah, he was like, he was up the whole time.
But I just thought it was because he was angry about the game,
and he was, like, checking in with every player.
And I think that is probably the bigger thing that was going on.
But he was, other players were relaying that he, like,
Jalen was up and active the whole time, which makes sense.
So I think they were putting some of that together.
But yeah, I mean, Tanner McKee said he didn't find out until five minutes before the walkthrough
and Jalen turns over to him and says it looks like are the guy this week.
Yeah.
And Zach Bond said he didn't even like, the defense and the offense were separate during the walk through.
They had on defense, they had no idea.
Yeah, it's just weird.
I mean, Tyler Steen said that he learned when Tanner McKee entered the huddle.
Yeah.
Which seems like you should maybe mention it before the thing.
You would think.
But, no, whatever.
They had to work on their statement.
Right.
It's weird.
Yeah.
But it can't get worse.
This offense is 30th, an EPA per drive.
It's, you know, dead last in three and outs as it was last year, 30th by success rate,
31st and series conversion rate.
the offense has been horrendous.
I mean, it's like a historically bad offense right now,
and that's the way it was with Jalen Hertz.
Jalen Hertz was dead last among quarterbacks in the NFL in dropback success rate.
It can't get worse in that sense.
I mean, it was awful with Jalen Hertz.
Was it all Jalen Hertz's fault?
Obviously not.
It's taking him out and putting Tanner McKee in,
objectively make the offense better.
Obviously not.
But there was something about the way the operation was going that was not working.
And so I'm curious what you guys think
about this. I didn't think these coaches and BG hit on this in your excellent episode this week
with Michael V. Thank you very much. You bet you checked that out. BG. talked about how he didn't think
the coaches were putting Jalen in a position to accentuate his strengths. He mentioned how Doug
Peterson changed the offense when Nick Foles came in. Yep. I'll add this. Doug Peterson did the
same thing when Jalen Hertz came in in in 2020. And I know Jalen was bought in to make all of the changes.
like he said in the past like tell me I can't right like and everyone told him he couldn't and so he
was trying to do it but it's been a disaster like you know I already cited all the things so going
to what BG was talking about like it was like shouldn't the coaches be doing the things that Jalen is good at
QB plus one run game like RPO's like deep balls all those things well now that Jalen's out
maybe at least yeah it'll be like a quarterback who is a little more comfortable with under center play
action at least. You know what I mean? Like, like, you know, we know that from that one game in 24 where he
played and we suddenly saw like a different type of playbook. Um, I don't think it'll be better because of
Tanner McKee, but it might be, it might be a, it might make more sense the way the coaches are
calling the game because I do think that they were like force feeding certain things, uh, onto the
offense and going and like not having the RPO's like now we know it's in like the last game was
because of the of the blood clot, obviously that.
he wasn't running, but he wasn't running before that either.
Yeah.
Yeah, so I don't know.
What do you guys think?
Well, let's close the book on Settle Inn presented by Ashley.
But I feel kind of stupid for not pushing back on the whole plan more in the first place.
Like, we got to import, we got to import the Shanahan system.
And, you know, now we're really going to find out about Jalen.
and if he can't make it work with this,
well, then, you know, we're going to have to find a new solution.
Why?
If, you know, that's how the rest of the league is going, so what?
Do, you know, we've talked about this for years.
The job of a coach is to accentuate the strengths of your quarterback.
Why is it that you have this guy who's won a Super Bowl MVP,
he's getting paid all this money,
and we're trying to fit him into a round hole,
like a square peg into a round hole?
Like, why?
and I would say
I feel dumb
the lesson learned of
Sean Desai
not working out
then let's get the real thing
let's get actual Vic Feen
and how much of a difference
that made
and then be like
oh Sean Manet's good enough
he can do that stuff
yeah yeah
I mean we asked this week
I do think
you know
it could look worse
I suppose
it's hard to believe
they'll argue
they could turn the ball over
you know whatever
but I do think
that maybe
even having more constraints with Taronne McKee might make things look a little bit better
for Sean Manion.
But I don't, you know, I'm willing to believe in Sean Manion.
People in the building still like him a lot.
But he might also just be bad.
That's possible.
Yeah, no, for sure.
I mean, and it's very different to be hardworking and to be dedicated and to learn all of the,
you know, the theories behind why an offense looks a certain way.
and Sean Mannion might be an excellent student of the game in that sense.
But I mean, it's such a different thing to,
it's like the difference between a student who studies really hard
and a student who does well on the test.
Like test taking is a thing.
You know what I mean?
Like it's a skill.
And like calling the game during the game
and adjusting on the fly to what the defense is doing
is a skill that we know some coordinators just don't have it.
Like they can talk about the theory
and they can, I'm sure they can study the game after the game
and realize what their mistakes were.
But it's different.
to be like, oh, wait, they're not doing the thing we thought they were going to do.
What are we going to do now?
We've heard Kevin Petulow talk about unscouted looks.
When Sean Mannion mentioned unscouted looks in his presser two weeks ago,
I was like, oh, no, here we go again.
Like, it's like, guess what?
That's the NFL.
Like, you're going to get unscouted looks.
Every team gets unscouted looks.
Like, the best offense in the league also gets unscouted looks.
Like, you can't just use that as an excuse.
And so far, he hasn't shown that he can.
No, I would feel better about this weekend if Tanner McKee.
He was the Tanner McKee we saw last summer, you know,
or even during points of last season.
He didn't look great this summer.
He looked worse than he's ever looked to me.
Yeah.
Like, even going back to a rookie.
I agree.
Like he, that's when you kind of started, you know, he was one of your,
well, he was one of the core four.
So, core four, that's right.
So I wanted to ask you, like, how do you feel about him?
Because me, like, I, I think we both agree, you know,
like he should have been the second quarterback.
Yeah.
Not so much based on.
I think he greatly outplayed Dalton.
He clearly didn't.
But what we've seen from him in the past,
I'm not ready to say that's totally gone.
No.
He can't get into that at all.
But I don't feel good about it right now.
Yeah, I mean, it's an unproven thing.
To me, it felt like the way they handled things this offseason
was robbing him of confidence,
which he needed at the position.
And I think he needed to be poured into
as opposed to force into that situation.
But what made him good when he looked good
was that he was getting rid of the ball quickly
and he was giving his receivers a chance to win one-on-one, right?
And that was probably better suited for when you had AJ Brown on the field
and you're not throwing to Mackay Lemon and Tay Wicks
or whoever's going to be thrown to.
No, it does seem like there's a good chance
he gets Devante Smith back for this game,
which would obviously be awesome.
But, yeah, I'm willing to believe.
He's never played in a game that really matters.
Right.
With the starters on the field,
and they're going to be missing a lot of starters,
but he's going to have more talent to his disposal this weekend than he's ever had.
Well, he came in for the second half of that one game, right?
And he looked great.
And then against the Giants in the, or sorry, against Washington in the last game last year,
which ended up being for the two seats, so it mattered.
He was playing with backups.
But if you remember, they left Devante in at the beginning so he could get to a thousand yards or whatever.
And he looked good on that track.
And it was actually like all backups except Devante, which is going to be exactly what it is this week.
That's like the one sign.
of hope. It's like, okay, that's why it's so crazy.
He's all he needs. He simply showered
on him in the off season because he looks good when he had
like some adequate talent to work with and then
didn't when he didn't. Because I mean, I think
that's our main data point for Tanner
McKee's not good anymore for some reason.
Is that game?
Because he was really bad in that game.
That game didn't end up mattering. But he's playing against
other NFL starters. Like Washington stars
are bad, but they're real starters in the NFL and you're
the backups. Yeah. No, exactly.
Well, unfortunately, that's going to be this week too.
Well, other than the extra problem here.
for this matchup in particular is that
he doesn't have escapability
and he's going to be playing behind a
pretty weak offensive line.
Right, exactly. Yeah.
And it's going to be imperative for him to get rid of the ball.
And I mean, you know, like, I don't know,
we don't need to do a whole separate segment on Carolina's defense
because, you know, Fran already broke it down yesterday.
But like, this is a defense which blitzes a lot
and they do a lot of funky things.
And like, you know, Tanner McKee himself was talking about it yesterday.
He said, like, all the weird stuff they do on defense.
It's like we've had to get ready for that.
And the thing is like it's like, it's a, I know that Evo comes from like the Fangio school,
but he does a lot more of the kind of like designer funky rotations to like weird coverages than
Fangio himself does.
I mean, they'll start, you know, they'll look like they're displaying cover four.
And then like four different people will rotate to different positions and it'll end up being cover six.
But like no one will be in the right position.
That's exactly the kind of thing that forces interceptions, right?
Like it's like you think you're going to end up with.
with a guy wide open and then they rotate out of it.
They'll rotate to funky like invert cover twos and things like that.
All the while,
they'll be dropping out both edge rushers and blitzing like a safety
and an outside corner at the same time.
I mean,
these are the things that have been befuddling the Eagles protections
and offensive lines since the beginning of the season.
I feel like every week,
the Eagles tend to be getting an opponent
that does exactly the thing that they've been.
It's been a kind of,
it's kind of been bad luck of like defenses that do this kind of thing.
like other than Robert Sala, who plays very vanilla,
all the other games have been these defensive coordinators
that do a bunch of funky stuff.
Carolina, unlike Jacksonville last week,
does it on early downs too.
So it's like there aren't like,
there aren't going to be any downs
where you know you're going to get some sort of vanilla look.
Fran talked about the blitz rates and we're talking about like under center.
I mean, Carolina blitzes against under center,
like 64% of the time on early downs.
It's like, you know, the NFL average against under center blitzing is like 49%.
Carolina will do it 63%.
So they're going to be blitzing a lot just if they're acting like themselves when it's
with Tanner McKee and all these backup offensive linemen in there, we're going to get a lot of
that.
So what the offense looks like, more than the design of the offense is going to be about whether
they can, whether the storm of the chaos that Carolina, I'm guessing, is going to try to create.
Do you have more sources of optimism on the offensive side of the ball, BLG?
I do.
And I think he know his name.
D.C.
D.C.
He's coming on.
And specifically, he's worked with Tanner McKee.
It was the preseason game from 2025, the first one against the Bengals.
He does that little, puts his foot in the ground.
Yeah.
He had seven targets in that game for six receptions, 82 yards, and the touchdown.
Darius Cooper looked really good in that game.
And he's gotten a lot of work with Tanner McKee in practice, working with the second team,
sometimes whatever, third team offense in the past.
So that does actually give me a little bit of hope.
there's a spark there.
I think the Eagles are realizing,
and as Fran called before
on the show earlier this week,
that, like,
he played something like,
what, eight snaps in week one?
You know, like,
I think they're realizing
he needs to be a real player
for them on offense.
Yeah, the Carolina defense,
also, like,
and this goes with the Darius Cooper point,
they are ninth in success rate against,
but they're 23rd in EPA per play against.
And that's despite the fact
that they have been forcing turnover.
So it's because they allow big play,
place. Their outside corners, I mean, both of their outside corners are injured and out for the game. They're
both on IR. So they're playing Caleb Evans, who was picked on a lot, last or two weeks ago when they played
the Lions and Will Lee, a rookie at the other outside corner spot. So they are, you know, weak on the
outside. Like, and so, you know, your offense isn't very consistent, right? Like, it's like,
dial up some shots, right? Like, take some shots downfield. This is one of the things that's been
frustrating me about the season. I looked it up. We know the Eagles are still leading the league
and hitch routes. But I was wondering like what has changed, right? Like what are the changes
from the past? And the biggest change is they were top 10 in Go routes and post routes in four
of the five years with Siriani. This year they're dead last. Dead last. If you add go plus post
routes together and make one stat, they are dead last 30 second, only 15% of their routes.
have been goes or posts that's down from 25% last year.
It was up, you know, and don't say it's not just because of AJ Brown.
It was 26% in 20, in 2021.
Completely maddening.
And the thing that it's been replaced with, right?
Because those routes have to be going somewhere is ins and outs.
Like, so they are, they're up from 19th in ins and outs, and they were bottom five in
ins and outs in the first three years under Siriani up to second in the league.
So jumping from 17% to 25.
And they're also higher in corner routes.
And that's because they're doing a lot of these like flat seven combinations
where somebody's like running a corner,
someone's running it out.
There's been a lot of outs and ins.
And that's kind of that like Shanahan, like West Coast thing.
That takes throwing with anticipation in a way that we know Jalen will always make a few throws a game
where we're like, look, he can do it.
But the consistency on those routes hasn't been there with him.
The thing with Tanner McKee is it's like,
is he going to suddenly have the confidence to let those balls rip like when he gets those chances?
Because Carolina will give you a chance to throw those.
like the way that they do some of their funky rotations,
like there will be openings.
You have to read it exactly correctly.
And that's not something that we've seen Tanner McKee
like look like he has the confidence to do.
The design with the absence of the deep shots
just even in the progression.
Not even in the progression,
just to help with the spacing of the wheels.
Just the spacing, yeah, that's the thing.
It's like Johan Dotson would at least like take away somebody.
Yeah, yeah.
Because it goes to, I mean, one,
it's what Jalen does best as a thrower.
Yeah.
Like that that is the thing that he does best.
We talked about on Tuesday, even this season, when they're one of the worst offenses
in football, they're still very good when he throws the ball deep.
But just from a spacing standpoint, why wouldn't?
That's wild to me.
Yeah.
And somebody has to be last in that metric, but it's like you're taking a bunch of players
on a quarterback who's used to that being part of the offense and making that drastic change.
And who you're in as you are asking him to find smaller,
windows, wouldn't you want to try to increase those windows a little bit by just, you know,
running somebody off. Yeah, for sure. And it's related to the condensed formations, which I know
Fran got into earlier this week. And I posted that clip of that outside zone boot play with the condensed
that's inviting the, inviting the blitz and Carolina will blitz their corner, their outside corners,
against those condensed looks. It's not like you can't run those routes from condensed looks,
but it's kind of part of the philosophy. You know what I mean? It's like,
It's like part of the idea of like not spreading it, not creating space in the field by having your receivers far away from each other.
Like I mean like that just hasn't been part of this offense.
And when it when a play works like no one ever complains, it's like, but it's not been working.
Right.
So it's like you have to make some sort of change.
Why not maybe go back to something this offense was used to?
But how much does the conversation change now that it's not jailing?
All right.
We're going to take a break.
Come back with more.

Bleeding clot nation.
Didn't really think about that, but yeah, I guess that's a tie-in this week.
Dinkleberg.
Where does the Ginnard Avery trade fall on the bad process spectrum?
That's like my, I don't even give me start.
Really?
There's just an insane trade to make.
That season wasn't going well.
And they gave up, I think it was a fourth rounder.
Yep.
For like Avery who had been taken in the fifth round.
It didn't look that good.
Yep.
It's similar to the Kerry Vincent thing where you saw him play,
or he didn't honestly didn't play a lot.
Yeah, but you know what?
You're giving up more.
That's the hyperactive Hallie Rosam and I miss.
I mean, it wasn't a good trade.
No, I hated it.
But that was like, that was a guy just looking for some action who needed the hit.
And he's like, all right, I'll do this to it.
He's made one trade all year.
It was the Jergens trade.
He didn't make a single trade this summer.
It's a good trade.
It's like there's a weekend of Bertie's thing going on.
Do you think people just aren't picking up the phone anymore?
No.
Okay.
Chase Daniel Plainview.
What is the messiest outcome from this McKee run?
I mean, obviously, if he looks incredible and the team goes on a crazy win streak.
But is that messy?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Are you kidding?
Yeah, it's messy.
No, I mean, in the long term.
And then jailing comes back.
In the short term, people are happy that they're winning.
The messiest thing is he looks great for two weeks.
They go two and a long term.
know, Jalen comes back and immediately they look terrible.
Exactly.
And then there's also locker room division of who the quarterback should be.
You have four games till the buy, you know.
Oh, yeah.
Tanner looks, Tanner looks great in all four and the team's six and three,
having just beaten all three division opponents, leading the division.
Yeah.
And then Jalen becomes medically cleared to come back.
It's not going to be a fun.
I think it's a fun place to live in that situation.
No, but it's a little bit messier if I think, if it's, if it's,
because that is even four in a row is like,
that's a real proof in the pudding a little bit.
Oh, you want it to be more vague.
Two and it's a little bit more vague.
And they're also not, if there's six and three, that's one,
but if they're like five and four, four and five,
but the division stinks, they could still get it.
Yeah.
What do you do?
Yep.
No, but at six and three, it's not,
are you saying it's clear that they should leave McKee in?
No, but it's, I,
I think it would make it worse,
because the decision would still be to go back to Jalen
and people would be like,
how can you go away from the guy who just won four in a row?
Yeah.
Right?
When Jalen was like among the worst quarterback.
I think it depends how it looks too.
Like if the offense is just like,
no, I'm saying if he looks good.
Yeah.
But I'm the saying if they're winning though in spite of him.
It's not the best thing.
And the standard is so low for him looking good right now,
but it's not that crazy to think
that he could look better than the offense is.
The key goes four and O,
they look really good.
Jalen comes back.
They lose that game.
And then at the Wednesday press conference,
Howie Roseman pulls a Jeff Galooly in the press conference.
You know, crowbar to the knee in front of the world.
That's the mess that we're looking for.
Things can get messy.
Hesanon.
Maybe less burden of expectation will help the offense.
Fewer burden, Luther burden.
You can't hurt.
I don't think it can hurt.
I don't hurt.
Not that they've been playing, not that it's been due to tightness that they haven't
been good. They really just look like they don't know what they're doing. Like it's like there's so many
things where it looks like they haven't been coached to run these plays the way that the coaches
like thought that they'd be able to coach them to run them. And part of that is that you have backups
playing. Part of it is that there's probably too many moving parts, right? Like I've heard some of the
offensive players talking about how many different formations there are, how many different calls there
are. Like how long, how wordy it is. Like he said that yesterday. Yeah. And so it's like if the
quarterback's talking about how wordy it is, like that's not great. You know what I mean? Like,
doesn't have to be Chip Kelly where it's like, let's get an editor and you say red and you run
right and you say, uh, you know, like, like leap and you run left or whatever, which were the
only two plays. But like, it's like, it's like, it's like maybe make it easier for the, for the
offense, at least in your first year, you know, like it's like, don't bring in something that like
guys who are running it, you know, something. But it's not like expectations have been high
for this offense, I would say. I think everyone was collectively being like, there could be some
growing pains. It could take some time. And I think that's kind of gone out the window, but it's
also because the offense has been so bad.
It's not like, oh, that's a growing pain.
It's like, no, that's just a really bad offense.
So I don't know if the pressure is, like, taken off all of a sudden.
Yeah.
I think it would be even messier if we found out that there was a way for someone to
intercept a blood clot into someone.
And it turns out that A.J. Brown did it.
Wow.
Then we're talking real mess.
Well, Fran was suggesting.
Or Elijah Moore did it on behalf of A.J. Brown.
Wow. How about that? That's why he's been here and Howie Roseman was a part of it the whole time.
That's why he looks happier to be here than Hollywood Brown. Like he's like, because he has a different, he has an agenda.
Do we know who cleated Jalen? Did we do, did we? You were looking for this. I don't know if it's Rams player.
A couple of, a couple of things that I can, I can, I can give on this one. One, I watched every single play of the Rams game yesterday looking for the moment that Jalen got cleated.
it's always like when you discover those moments,
it's always like,
oh, there it is.
Like, you know,
like I found the moment
when Drew Kendall got hurt.
Like,
and it was, you know,
Cam Juergens like got beat
and, you know,
Kendall got hurt on the third play of the game.
I posted that one and it was like,
yeah,
that's clearly the play.
I couldn't find it.
I couldn't find a single moment
where it was obvious that he got cleated.
He got tripped at one point by Cam Durgan's.
But it didn't look like it affected his calf in any way.
He definitely didn't get stepped on
or anything on any of the plays where he like slid
or ran with the ball or anything like that.
I could not find the play.
This morning, Ian Rappaport did a hit
where he talked about how he said he felt like he got cleated.
That's not necessarily what happened.
He just said it felt like that.
And I thought that was a weird thing to say.
Yeah, he said this this morning on an NFL network or whatever he's on.
And it was like, what do you mean?
It's not necessarily what happened.
Like, he just felt like that.
And he also didn't use the word cleaded.
he used the word kicked.
So he said he said he felt like he got kicked in the Rams game.
That's not necessarily what happened.
So the combination of me like not finding the play
and then him saying that, I mean, I'm sure obviously like,
you know, something happened like and it doesn't necessarily matter
exactly when it happened.
But Rappaport adding that because he was the one who said he got cleted, right?
Wasn't it his like original wasn't Rappaport the one who posted the long like first thing?
Yes.
So.
And so also said on Wednesday that he got cleated in the Rams game.
He said he got clipped up in the Rams game.
I thought he said he got cleated.
I don't think he used the word cleated.
So I think he said nicked up.
So it's just kind of weird.
Like the fact that we can't point to the play is weird.
Like this high profile a thing and you can't point to which play it was.
And again, like I watched every play like twice.
Like when I couldn't find it the first time, I was like I must have been, you know,
not watching through to the end or whatever.
But I'm pretty sure it's not on.
It's not evident.
It would happen in warmups.
That's why I didn't come out for warmups in this game.
You didn't want to get friendly fired again.
Maybe. I mean, we've got to take our squeeze in our last break here. We'll talk about the defense on the other side.

Back on the show.
Let's talk about the defense.
Are you encouraged?
You think this could be a sign of a monster?
Eurrupting in time for Halloween?
I thought the Jacksonville game was encouraging in terms of like the communication on the
back end looked better.
Like the people were pointing to guys and like actually picking them up and on all
those kinds of things.
Now, there were plays in which.
which people made mistakes, the 51-yarder on a, what should have been like a simple,
like, you know, it's just a slide route.
And Drew McCuba rotates down way too hard.
It's a weird play because both of the safeties rotated down,
which almost never is the actual call.
So there was some miscommunication as to who was supposed to rotate down,
not just how aggressively.
Is there a Mr. Communication?
Well, I don't, Cooper DeGine is Mr. Communication on this team.
And he was, he, there's a, he makes a hand signal telling one of the safeties to rotate down.
And I got into this long text thread with Sean Saya trying to figure out like who is Cooper de Gene telling to rotate down.
Yeah.
And he was like, yeah, I couldn't tell if like they're both supposed to.
And then it's a two invert, which Vic is literally never called, uh, ever.
But John's like able to move on with his life.
Meanwhile, you're like, no, he wasn't.
Well, Sean is dealing, Sean like watches so much film of every team that like he doesn't have time to deal.
Yeah, I couldn't figure that out.
I'm like, no, I got it.
I got to keep watching this.
Um, but in general, the communication was much better, uh, for sure.
Having said all of that, I do think sometimes.
when this defense has a good game,
there's a little bit of like,
okay, the defense is fixed now.
And it's like, we said that last year.
And like, and then in the playoff game,
the defense didn't look great.
You know what I mean?
Like the defense is still 21st by EPA per drive.
It's 15th by success rate,
23rd by series conversion rate.
A lot of the good performance is being cropped up
by being really good in the red zone.
This last game, Jacksonville got to the one yard line twice.
I'm glad you're saying this.
And scored zero points on those two trips.
And partly because they were,
they like somewhat you know horrendous play calling combined with like some delay of
arms and false starts and like running that wildcat play and the backup left tackle false
starts like yeah but you don't have to have like Chris Rodriguez as the quarterback like in
that one of the dumbest things the last play of the half when when he goes empty and he puts the running
back out to put Zach Bond in perfect position to make the tackle yeah taking away any threat
of the run right and then oh the guy you're going to give it to the guy motion
Oh, what a surprise.
Not just that, but you know it's zero coverage and you have Zach Bonn on the running back.
So when you put the running back out on that side, you put the Eagles best tackler and best diagnoser of play.
It's in perfect position to make the tackle.
Like, it's like, just to have the running back go the other way.
Yeah.
You know, it was, it was strange.
I know the turnovers haven't arrived and they come in bunches at times.
And so like that could help the defense's numbers and everything.
But I do think that there are, you know, some people were a little bit too quick.
to get on the defense's fixed thing.
For one thing, you have your starting first round pick linebacker,
like getting demoted to a rotational role,
which we should talk about what that means.
You know what? I'm tired of this negativity.
This team has won two Super Bowls in the last decade.
Okay?
Where's the positive coverage?
So what?
He's the first round linebacker.
He's still going to be on the field.
He's not getting cut.
Hey, listen, I'm not in the media.
I'm just a fan, but apparently fans complaining is also
problem so yeah good
go ahead
BLG what do you think do you think that people have been a little
too positive about the defense or is it is it
maybe my standards are too high based on what we saw in 24
I mean it's funny to be like oh they're great after a game
where they allowed 408 yards and then to the Rams is
40 15 yards so yeah I think I think it's just you know
people looking for something to to feel good about and giving
Vic the benefit of the doubt there I mean I also feel like we have we
have really underplayed this week
the Jalix hunt injury.
Yeah,
that's a big deal.
It would be like
the biggest news on the normal week.
Their whole edge rest of situation right now.
This was week one.
That would be the,
yeah,
would be all we were talking about.
Yeah,
no J.
J.A.,
Panessa is apparently out as well.
And he actually had some,
he actually had some good snaps last week.
Well,
he'd be playing too if Jaleks isn't,
and also we don't know
if Garnard's going to play still.
Maybe he does.
I imagine he's going to play.
He'd seem like he was relatively close on Sunday.
Is he going to say on the field?
Is he going to get hurt again?
Good question.
I think the optimism
for the defense that people are actually feeling
is just seeing Jalen Carter play like that.
I agree.
For sure.
For sure.
It takes the ceiling, right?
If he's playing 90% of that,
you feel so much better about the defense.
And the middle of the offensive line for Carolina
hasn't been good.
They have Corey Bullock playing at left guard as a backup.
Damian Lewis might be back this week,
but it's not like that's a strength for them anyway.
Luke Fortner, the center, Robert Hunt the right card.
This isn't like a great interior offensive line.
Jalen Carter should be able to do damage against them if he plays the way he did last week.
That was definitely awesome.
And people are saying it was just the first half.
He was still making plays down to the end of the game.
I mean, he batted that ball down on the last play,
the last defensive play of the game and get the ball back in time.
Like he bulls the left guard into the quarterback and gets a PBU at the line of scrimmage.
Like he had his energy all the way till the end.
They're managing his snaps a little bit, which is probably smart.
We've talked before about does he really need to play every snap all season?
And it's kind of good, I think, that he's taking some first downs off, some second downs off.
You know, let Byron Young in there.
I see one of BGM is in the chat, biggest Byron Young hater in the world.
Byron Young is getting.
Yeah, well, I mean, I think it's been a good, it's been a good rotation on the inside.
But on the outside, like BLG is saying, like, I mean, there are issues.
You know, they're down to Nolan Smith, Jonathan Gernard and A.K.A. Becetti as the only
three, which means you're going to have to probably bring up, is James Newby to play?
I would guess James Newby if they're promoting somebody.
And he's not going to play very much.
I mean, so that means you're really putting a lot on those other guys.
And Granard is yet to play in any game more than, what's his max?
More than 19.
He's only played in two games.
He played 18 and one of them and 19 in the other.
So, question for you to mull over before we hit overtime.
Damien Lewis.
Damien Lewis Peckness, migrate.
Band of Brothers, Billions, Homeland.
We'll get that answer on the other side.
In Luxtime.
When it comes to TV shows, I'm like Zach with music.
I just don't.
I'm out of my element.
So this is a BLG.
I've seen Homeland, but it was such a long time ago.
And then what were the other two?
Band of Brothers and Billions.
I didn't see billions.
I've heard great things.
Someone just talking to me earlier this week about.
Banda Brothers. That's weird that came up again.
So I really feel about a, you know,
we're talking about, we're talking about
like American war heroes here.
And we got a, we got a Brit,
bland American,
a little stolen valor.
What do we think?
Couldn't find a gang?
I guess that's fair. Hold on that role.
I guess that's fair.
Opposite Ron Livingston?
I would go.
I mean, Homeland Phil.
Like all TV shows, fell off after two seasons.
You know.
Mm-hmm.
It's why I don't watch TV.
Same for billions.
You watch a movie?
So you got a nest band of brothers.
It's over in two hours.
I need to give me one season.
The first season of Homeland's pretty good.
First season of Billion's pretty good, too.
Super chat from SRG.
Did anyone notice Goddard coming off the field on third downs last week?
Felt like I saw it quite a few times.
Well, they used Zach Hertz as the third down tight end on multiple occasions.
This has been something they've gone to.
One of the things that they've added in the last two weeks is they've been using more empty on third down.
They only use empty on third down, which is kind of annoying.
It's like, you know, they're just like, there are certain patterns where it's like you can, you can tell, okay, in the third down meeting they worked on this.
But like on the first down day, they didn't, you know.
And so they're not using some of the tools in situations where it might be actually more useful because you're getting some of those kind of, you know, you're just not getting the benefits of certain things.
But in any case, Zachert's as the third down tight end is probably something which has.
seen its day, right? He's out of elevations. He's been used on fewer snaps each preceding
week in the three games he's played. And it's kind of sucked for him. He's come back. It's been
three straight losses since he's been, since he's joined the team. The team is falling apart
around him. His own, you know, usage is decreasing. And he doesn't, he just doesn't look like he can
move. No. It's just kind of sad. And he's still within reach of the record. I know. But he might
not get it. I mean, are you up on that? I don't know. I think they got to keep him around.
But I have a question for you
And then he breaks the record
There was not a single snap last week
Where he got it run the field at the same time
Right?
No
There weren't
They were in opposite sides of the locker room too
They were seeing
I know you're going out of their way
To not put them together
I know you were there, Beau
So you might not have seen this
In the like the last sideline hit
That they did just before the game started
On NFL network
They like the only two players
You could see behind the sideline reporter
Were Zach arts and Dallas Goddard
and they were like shaking hands and laughing about so that was the first sign that you know they are they have acknowledged each other since that's since that's been back uh we have we have breaking news a lot of the 12 personnel has been mont and e jenkins by the way like neither of those guys is out there on this
tim mcmanis the great tim mcmanis says devante smith said i'm good when asked about his hamstring he said whether he plays sunday is up to the doctors so that means he's
I was going to suffer a career-threatening injury on Sunday.
Jonathan Grenard said he would test his ankle pregame as he did last week in London.
That's a great, Vic.
That's so good.
I think Vic is going to love that.
He's not even saying I'm going to play.
He's saying, oh, I'll test it.
I think if Gernard doesn't play this week, Vic might just retire.
Like, seriously.
I mean, Vic is so tired of that guy.
He was asked about Jaylon Phillips and Expressor this week and about, you know,
what he envisioned as the replacement for Jalen Phillips.
And he's being asked about Jalen Phillips
and part because Jalen Phillips plays for Carolina.
So you're going to see him this weekend.
And he said Gernard was going to take a lot of that
and unfortunately got hurt in our wait room
before training camp started.
He did not have to volunteer at that part.
Like he clearly is sick of,
and when he was asked about Jalix Hunt earlier in the press conference,
he said that Jalix is not one of those guys
who are hesitant to come back.
And you can tell that he puts Gernard in that.
category. Just anecdotally,
you know, for the past two months, I've
been witness to
multiple events of just
Jonathan Grenard in a big huddle with people
discussing whether he can play or not.
Or like when it is, he's going to be back.
Like, it does seem a little bit dramatic.
Like a big huddle of medical people?
Sometimes.
Okay. Sometimes it's an agent.
I see. Oh, I see. I see. I'm sure Vic loves that.
Jordan Davis playing watch.
Third down snap, baby.
Last week, I talked about how he had been on the field for zero of the 34, third and fourth and six plus snaps on the season.
That is now up to two of 44.
I thought there was only one.
No, but here's the thing.
It's like, I think this is even more insulting than not letting him play.
The only two snaps out of the 44 that he's been on the field for those, third and 37 and third and 21.
So he still hasn't been on the field for any third and six to 20.
You know, he's only out there if it's like,
they're obviously going to knock it in it anyway.
Like, or they might run a draw.
You know what I mean?
So he still hasn't been out there in a meaningful third and long.
Just a little update there.
Super chat from B3 to 17.
I'm heading up for the game on the train.
Any recommendations for a quick breakfast sando?
I do.
We're heading to the link.
Assuming here by 30th Street Station,
you should head over to Roe Home Coffee over in like Fittler Square area.
Yeah, the pretzel breakfast sandwich?
It's a good one.
If you...
Tough.
So he's at 30th Street.
Yeah.
I guess you could walk there.
Yeah.
Along the nice little river walk.
Yeah.
If you're going to end up on broad and willing to get off the train before you transfer,
then at 15th and south, there's the breakfast done.
That is my pregame.
That's my pregame stop.
If you go to...
It is awesome.
It's like hybrid breakfasts, Vietnamese.
The new-ish.
Oh, yes.
I know you're talking about.
Fusion, they have good breakfast.
I haven't been.
Chi.
Chibanos.
Chibanos.
Yeah.
I've heard good things.
I've been.
I've been once.
Okay.
Yeah.
They like, for some reason, I went once and they didn't have anything left.
Like, I think it was like too late in the day or something.
So I wasn't able to try anything.
But I've heard it's good.
Yeah.
The breakfast done is really awesome.
I mean, I know it's free advertising, but it's a great, great spot.
Give me, you want to do a quick breakfast sandwich draft?
Sure.
Flyers are going to be very angry that we are extending the show, but we're going to do it very quickly.
We've got to be off, we got to be off by 315.
All right.
We got to have a, you got to have a type of bread, a specific egg preparation.
Okay.
Protein, or I guess you don't have to have a meat if you don't want to.
Okay.
How about just a third wild card?
The thing for me with these with these things is I don't like eggs in a sandwich.
So you're not a big breakfast sandwich guy.
Well, that's the thing.
It's like I love these breakfast places, but I'll either, I'm either getting an omelet or I'm getting a sandwich that's not really a breakfast sandwich.
So you like eggs, you just don't like it in the same.
I only like it if it's like in an omelet and basically homogenous.
Like if you can if you can tell the yolk from the white at all, like I don't like it.
Like when I like with scrambled eggs, I have to.
Sure. I almost have to scramble them myself.
Right. So that like I, you know, I'm scrambling them for like 10 minutes, like so that I know they'll be fully scrambled.
Um, yeah. So I'm, I'm weird with things.
First pick.
Draftic. Uh, well, okay. Oh, yeah, I want a Kaiser roll. I love a good Kaiser roll.
Pick, BLG. Yeah, I need that. That's essential.
Good pick. Now, listen, there's lots of great. There's lots of great vessels.
Mm-hmm. But the kinds of roll, that's, that's a good pick.
What am I supposed to do?
Pick a part of a breakfast sandwich that you'd like to have on your breakfast sandwich.
I mean, I love, I mean, I love like a, just bacon in anything.
Okay.
So there's got to be bacon in there.
Okay.
Bacon, good pick.
Um, man, you took, you guys took the top of those two categories.
I'm going to go, you know, you could go sausage patty.
But I actually, my go to after a bacon, I'm going turkey bacon.
I like a turkey bacon.
I'm going turkey bacon.
That's my protein.
Are you snake drafts?
No, let's be generous here.
I'll do the flat sausage then for sure.
Okay.
Yeah.
The patty.
Am I doing?
I need what are the other parts?
We need a bread vehicle and whatever else you want.
I'm going to go biscuit.
That's the bread.
Yeah, see, that's a bad choice.
So I'm okay with.
See, because I don't like, because I don't like,
Because I don't like eggs.
It tastes as biscuit.
Yeah, but that's not a problem.
A lot of variance in the biscuit, I feel like, too,
depending where you're going.
But you're assuming a good version of.
Oh, good biscuit, yeah, of course.
I'm going to go, this is going to be,
my egg preparation is going to be like an omelity scramble,
but with the cheese folded in.
So melt it in with the heat of the egg.
That's how I want my, that's how I want my egg.
Hmm.
What does that leave from me?
You need your egg preparation.
Egg prep.
Huh.
So what are you officially calling yours?
So I'm trying to figure out what I can't take.
And what did you say for egg?
Did you have an egg?
He hasn't picked his egg yet.
But it's like, it's a, it's a scramble.
But it's a cohesive scramble.
It's not a monthly scramble.
It's a folded over a scramble.
I mean, I guess I'll just go with a Friday.
Okay.
Since we have to have eggs, I'm going to go scrambled.
the only kind I like.
Okay.
But, you know, I'm talking more like the very homogenous, like folded over McDonald's style.
Okay.
Yeah.
That's kind of what I drafted.
So I'm working towards a McDonald's bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, basically.
I'm taking an English muffin as my.
Wow.
As the bread.
So I won.
Good stuff, everybody.
All right, I got five minutes left to talk ball.
Yeah, I was wondering, like, watching the Carolina offense against Detroit two weeks ago.
first of all, they were awesome.
Like, it was like one of the best offensive performances you'll ever see.
The thing that was frustrating about watching it is they were doing all these things
that the Eagles used to be good at and don't do anymore.
Like, the number of different RPO's they run, like out of pistol, out of shotgun,
the slant flat wheel style like McDaniel, Miami type RPO.
And the answers that they have built in against the Blitz.
Like, they had a play where they were,
and condensed and they did like a pistol RPO like kind of glance flat combination and there was an
outside cornerback blitz where the glance is right into the void left by the cornerback and it's
like man the Eagles just run outside zone like right into that cornerback and lose five yards like
and it's like like and this team used to be able to run RPO's and let the quarterback make reads
and I felt like Bryce Young like one of the reasons he's having such a good year is because they're letting
him read it out like they're letting him read it and like make quick throws he's not even like
throwing from like an actual throwing position on a lot of these plays.
Like he's just getting the ball and making a quick throw.
And, you know, like, McMillan's been awesome for them, like, as a receiver.
But, like, one of the reasons that he's been more effective,
and France talked about this is he's playing in the slot more.
He's getting matched up against linebackers inside.
Like, they're finding holes in the middle of the defense.
They're able to isolate their good players against bad coverage players.
Like, all these things that the Eagles, like, either don't do or don't take advantage of.
On that one play where they threw to Zach Hertz
against Jerry and Jones last week,
Mackay Lemon is lined up against Oluakan, the linebacker.
And it's clear man coverage.
And it's like, do you want to go to your first round wide receiver
against a linebacker?
Or do you want to go to your 50-year-old tight end
playing on the outside, like against a corner?
And it's like you watch Carolina,
and they have Darren Waller coming on third down.
He's there, Zach Hertz, right?
But he can still move a little.
And he's against Jack Campbell in space
on a choice route and and they they set that up through formation like through understanding what
Detroit's going to do and it was just kind of like annoying to watch watch all that because I think
you can watch that offense and get ideas that the Eagles could easily incorporate or at least
could have when Jalen was was was playing and it was just kind of frustrating to see these are also
things that could cause trouble for the Eagles defense I mean these are these have been these have
been things that have caused trouble at time so just just wanted to get that out there seemed like a
case of good offensive coaching.
Yeah.
From a roster that's good, but not like,
you don't look at the roster and you're like,
oh my God, these guys are, you know, unstoppable.
The coaching is adding to the roster.
Do you think the Eagles coaches are suffering from a horny deficit?
Could that be what's powering the brand,
the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
issues.
We would have been talking about Dave Canales the whole, whole, every, every week,
all week, right?
He's talking about that would have been.
Oh, there you go.
Didn't Rick Tocke use that word?
Defense is too horny?
Too horny.
He doesn't play about it.
Maybe it's because Canalysis isn't tell.
Yeah, must be.
Any final thoughts from you, big fellow?
No.
Honestly.
Bleeding Green Nation.
Check it out.
We'll be here on Sunday.
1 o'clock game, 1230 kickoff show.
Me and BLG.
Why?
Since when?
I don't think that's true.
It was last week.
But I thought that was a mistake.
All right.
Well, I mean, whatever.
You'll see it on YouTube.
You're going to be there.
And then we got the postgame show.
MJ will join us.
Brandon Graham.
It'll be pretty good.
Tanner McKay.
Start of a new year.
I hope the atmosphere is good for this game.
I'm worried that the atmosphere is not going to be good.
It's just like...
The atmosphere,
atmosphere has already not been good at the link honestly a lot of empty seats in crunch time of both of the
of both of the home game so far even though they both came down to the end uh it just hasn't been good
maybe that's a bigger conversation for a different day but with with all the injuries and one o'clock
and everything else like um i'm worried it's going to be a not flaccid it's not going to be like london
where the where the fans actually help the team yeah yeah that was an awesome atmosphere one of the
best I've ever been to. Shout out to everybody who was there. For the professor and BLG, I'm
Bo. Thank you, Lindsay. And most of all, thank you, Dr. Lux, for joining us. We will see you on
Sunday. Enjoy the weekend, everybody. And as always, we love you.
