Starting point is 00:00:14 of a NL championship edition of the postgame show for the PHNX DMAX podcast occasionally known as your mayor of the fucking world series. This man much more reserved than me is Patty Plantains, aka the hot tag,
Starting point is 00:01:56 aka Patrick Lyons from the DNVR show. And there is no way I'm going to have a voice after this show. They did it. Y'all, they did it. We tried to tell you they were a wagon, but you wouldn't listen. They are on a roll,
Starting point is 00:02:10 and this wagon continues to roll. They beat the Philadelphia Phillies in the only Game 7 that that franchise has ever played, and they will advance to their second world series in franchise history. Are you kidding me?
Starting point is 00:02:26 Are you shitting me? Is this really happening? Derek, I'm going to pinch you right now. Can you fucking pinch me? I will not break skin. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. We got to do something. Oh, you've got another way to celebrate? Yeah, we got to put the Phillies in a box. Phillies in a box.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Phillies in a box. There you go. The Phillies are in a box. Hey, P.H.I. I can't wait to see what t-shirt you guys pick out, by the way. I'm going to go ahead and pop this ball of champagne. You got the bubbly. A little bit of the bubbly. Let's fucking go. It's going right into the beer bat.
Starting point is 00:02:58 That's where it's going. Arizona Diamondbacks. Please take over for me. In game seven at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies were 28 and 11 at home. The best record of any team in any ballpark in the history of this game. The Arizona Diamondbacks down three, two, went into Philadelphia and won bold games. Snakes very much alive. Brandon fought.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Absolutely fantastic. once again, ice water in this man's veins. Big game Brandon was big game Brandon once again. I have notes on this computer. I don't give a shit about those notes right now. What has this team? What did they've done? What have they done?
Starting point is 00:03:43 They can't keep getting away with this. The Arizona Diamondbacks are your national league champions. The Arizona Diamondbacks are your National League champions. This is a Pennant podcast. And in nine months from today, there are going to be so many children around the valley named ginkle. Oh, I plan on... I plan on having one just so I could name a ginkle.
Starting point is 00:04:04 That's exactly my plan. But I don't know. Fought is an interesting name as well that I'm sure a lot of people come 12 years from now won't really understand why we named a baby Fott, but it's still understandable because this fan was amazing. He allowed a solo home run to Alec Bome early on, to leave off the bomb in the second. Philly's players were being far more patient with Fott than they were in game three. But still, the man got 16 whiffs tonight.
Starting point is 00:04:28 16 whiffs in game 7 of a must win winner take all game 16 whiffs with 10 of them from the sweeper which was much different than his other outing where the majority of them were with the forcing fastball this man switched it up on them as much as the Phillies tried to change their game plan they could only stay so patient their backs were against the wall the pressure was on them the pressure wasn't on the snakes the snakes are the snakes don't belong here right house money man the snakes don't belong here they didn't they don't deserve to be here right That's what all of those Phillies fans were saying. I hope those guys show up tonight because I want to have a talk with all of them.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Brandon fought. He was just fantastic. He was fantastic. 16 swings and misses. As you said, ended up walking two, struck out seven, 25-year-old rookie Brandon fought. We've said it many times, but you know what? There's going to be new people jumping into the chat. There's going to be new people jumping onto the wagon.
Starting point is 00:05:21 As we know, that's what this team is right now, is a wagon besides being effing dangerous. And so each and every minute that you guys jump on board, you got to know that Brandon Fott was a guy who was sent down to the minors twice this year. Over the course of the summer, on his summer break back home in Louisville, Kentucky, got a phone call from the big league pitching coach, said, hey, I know you're in the minor leagues right now, but guess what? We are going to need you this postseason. Brent Strom can see into the future, and he knew how valuable and how important Brendan Fott was going to be for this Arizona Diamondbacks team. And he absolutely was that.
Starting point is 00:05:55 After that opening start against the Milwaukee Brewers, he has been. been absolutely fantastic. He is the third head on this three-headed snake. How prophetic was that phone call to Brandon Fott's parents home in Kentucky when Brandon Fott was off in AAA, telling him about the changes he wanted to make and telling him how much this team was going to need him in the post. What was that phone call like? If you were Brent, if you were Brent Strom, you'd pick up the phone and you'd call, right? I'll be the Fott family. Yeah, yeah. Hello? Is Brandon there? I need to talk to him immediately. Hold on once a second. And who is speaking? This is Stromi. He'll know.
Starting point is 00:06:32 He'll know what I mean. Just tell him in stromy. It's hard to hear you. Are you just, are you doing it over? Tell him on the goddamn phone. Are you a speaker? He needs to change the side of the rubber that he pitches from. I need to tell him right now. Okay. Hold on a second. That's what I imagine it. Brandy. And then the rest is history at that point. It doesn't believe. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Unbelievable that that phone call ended up being so prophetic. It was. Brandon Fotz's 22 strikeouts in the postseason rank third by D.
Starting point is 00:06:56 DeBack's pitcher in the postseason. In franchise history. Gee, I wonder who's one and two. A couple of guys named Kurt Schilling and Randy Johnson. Wow. His 22 strikeouts ranked seventh amongst rookies in the postseason dating back to 1998 when the Diamondbacks became a franchise. So this man was everything the Diamondbacks wanted. And of course, I forgot.
Starting point is 00:07:19 I have not skied yet. A ski to you all. A ski to you, Patrick. Ski to you, Derek. To Max. Ski to Max. You go stand in the spot right now. For all I give a shit.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Ski to Owen. ski he said like yeah go do it i don't care this door it's probably not the best idea yeah we're probably tempting fate with that one but uh let's take a look at some of these super chats really fast before we talk more about the offense uh shout out to ground hod mama she said use the beer bat responsibly derrick we are a mother fucking wagon i will not use this responsibly tonight i promise to abuse this joe let's go joe joe says motherfucker wagon our guy andrew dang says who can't believe this america excuse me i'm ready to play the world series already we shut down the best offense in baseball.
Starting point is 00:08:00 First take, need to talk D-backs now. Let's go. Our guy Parker. Parker. Oh, it's what Harper gets for showing up in a Pat-Bab jersey. We fucking told you not to do that. You show up in a Georgian jersey? You think we don't know what that means?
Starting point is 00:08:14 That cuts us deep. We knew what was going on. He said, go fucking snakes. Travis, let's go. 22 years of pain is over. Wow. 22 years of pain. Absolutely over.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Two years, two years after losing 110 games. We're talking World Series. We're talking World Series. Both teams, the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks two seasons ago lost 100 plus games. And now here they sit facing each other in the World Series. The Jeff Bannister series is what we got. The Jeff Bannister series obviously that they both got here obviously with very,
Starting point is 00:08:47 very different paths. So one team spent their way here and one team did it through basically minor league call-ups, rookies. The Diamondbacks didn't pay $500 million for the double-play duo? dollars for a couple of players. But back to some of our super chats really fast. Vince, big time. What's up, dog?
Starting point is 00:09:05 Vince, we love you. He says, it's the Yoss, baby. We're going to the World Series. We are all witnesses. You're goddamn right. We are. Peace of Yoshi said, fuck Philly. Fuck the Phillies.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Fuck the Eagles. Fuck the Sixers. Yeah, that's. And whoever we play next. And whoever we play next. Here, here. Good one. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Charles Woodall Pike says the chaos wagon is world series bound. We're connected. dangerous and coming for Texas. You're goddamn right. We are. You have no idea what's coming for you. Travis said, say it ain't so. I will not go.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Let's go. Of course it's fought Tuesday. Vince, thank you again. Vince, on point. I know. Vince, you're incredible tonight. Tony says,
Starting point is 00:09:44 drink up, Derek. We are going to the series. God damn right here. The mayor of the world series. Derek, you didn't know that that was in your job description, but it is now. It was always a dream.
Starting point is 00:09:53 You need to update your LinkedIn. Always a dream of mine. You might want to do that now. Joey Hill. Thank you for years. He said, say it with the hard. That's fought.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Pafat? I don't know. Cogs. I'm not saying I know. Wait, what happened to that one? It disappeared on me. He said, I'm not saying I'm what did this, but we're 2 and O with an NL pennant since I was on the show. Ski, motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Your mom heard you say that. Cogs wagon. Nicholas says, we are a wagon. We belong here. The Destiny backs are going to the World Series. Destiny backs. I like that. That's a good name.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Saul. Saul was all over it. When we were down, Saul looked at all of us. and said they can't be the answer backs if they don't answer back. And what better way than them to prove that they're the answer backs than them for them to answer back in the biggest game of
Starting point is 00:10:38 their lives? Is that hyperbole? That is the biggest game of their fucking lives? Y'all are adding no less than like three more new shirts probably to the locker at this point. Like destiny back. Here's my wallet. That's going to be one. Keep my credit cards. We're going to curse a lot tonight. Chili Boots,
Starting point is 00:10:53 our new friend from Minnesota says best in the West. Let Texas know. We got you covered. We'll take down your AL, your AL rival. But this guy, this guy, get in here, this guy. Flex from Jersey, $45. Our guy, World Series, baby. Let's get the whole fucking thing. Let's go, baby.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Just two Jersey boys hanging out here in Phoenix, what I'm saying? All we do is win, baby. All we do is way, baby. Got the more equal connection over here. And who was telling everybody the whole time to just take some deep breath, stay calm. That's all he did. He did that to me so many times today. I couldn't, I couldn't follow his advice.
Starting point is 00:11:25 He was confident. But let's talk about this offense. I didn't hear Yogi Flex at this point. Talk about the offense. Spit on it. I mean, this offense. Go. You know, obviously we talked that they would need to do this. We needed four runs.
Starting point is 00:11:37 We needed five runs. They couldn't expect to get away in a big game like this with holding the, you know, the Phillies hitters to, to what we held them to tonight. They held Phillies to two runs tonight. But obviously a big part of that was what this team was able to do offensively. Corby and Carroll, a huge part of that tonight. He was. Yeah, he had three hits.
Starting point is 00:11:57 then his fourth plate appearance you go, oh man, is he going to join an elite group of players that gets four hits in a game? No, but guess what? Sack fly, right there. And in fact, you know, he was interviewed, you know, post game just before we went live and the announcer was, you know, letting him know
Starting point is 00:12:13 like, hey man, you're really struggling there for a minute, and he absolutely was. But the thing that Corby and Carroll said was just like, it's baseball, right? And it is. It's just baseball. And they're just teammates, and they're just close friends, best friends, family. And that all goes back to what Toro Lavello was saying about being a connected team to one another, passing that baton.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Carol going out there and immediately we said that, you know, in game six and in game seven, they were going to be a lot more aggressive. And they absolutely were more aggressive. I think Gerell might have had the first home base. No, it was. It was Corbyn Carroll. He stole two bases tonight. Christian Walker even stole a base. Believe it or not, you go, Corbyn Carroll obviously is leading the Diamondbacks in steals this postseason.
Starting point is 00:12:55 He's not. He's tied with Christian. Walker, Christian Walker also has four stolen bases. They were running on the Phillies battery all night. I think they had four stolen bases. Perdomo, I think, was in there in the mix. And they were just really aggressive. And yeah, Corby and Carroll, he needed that kind of a game because you saw it out of
Starting point is 00:13:12 Marte. He did end up extending his hitting streak to 16 games. But other than that was kind of quiet, Corbyn needed to do a little bit more of the heavy lifting. And thankfully for the Diamondbacks, he was absolutely able to do that. We talked about how if the Diamondbacks could make it to the World Series at this year's World Series, the dates, oddly line up exactly with the dates from the 2001 World Series. And we discussed how unlikely that is, considering all the factors that needed to go into that 2001 World Series to make it take place so late. But when you talk about the Diamondbacks offense, this is the fourth consecutive time.
Starting point is 00:13:53 The debacks have collected 10 hits or more. in a winner take all game. And it's the last four consecutive, including the Wildcard game in 2017, the World Series in 2001, and the NLDS in 2001. 10 hits and all of those games. Clutch and their offense tonight.
Starting point is 00:14:11 Again, it's another one of those nights where when you look at what this team did, it was a team effort all around from what the Diamondbacks were able to contribute. Carol, three for four tonight, with two runs scored and two RBI himself. Marte was one for five, extends his career postseason hitting streak to 16 games now to start his career.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Yeah, the Diagnonics were trailing in this game. Let's not forget. It definitely seemed like you got to make sure you get ahead the Phillies early so they don't have that momentum. They did. They were up to nothing or excuse me, 2.1 there in the bottom of the fourth and an inning that probably could have gotten a lot more out of hand. And you got the Stott RBI double to left center and Fotz able to get out of that jam in his final inning of work.
Starting point is 00:14:54 But yeah, Carol had RBI number two to tie the game. He had that little insurance run there later on to make it four to. But everybody was able to contribute there in such a big spot because, again, they were trailing. They did not have that momentum, but they were able to fight back. And then the bullpen goes out and posts five scoreless innings. Let's talk about it because if I'm being completely honest, we could give our king snake to the bullpen. this bullpen continues to be incredible for this team. Let's not mince words about it.
Starting point is 00:15:29 The Diamondbacks would not be where they are at without their bullpen. And I know that, of course, that's, you know, that's obvious, right? Like you need a solid bullpen in order for you to be competitive in this league. But when we talk about what this bullpen was versus what this bullpen has become is like night and day. Damon dogs speak on it. How on earth did we send Kevin Ginkle down, down to Reno? He didn't even deserve it at the time. We were actually quite furious.
Starting point is 00:16:00 He might be the best player on this team. He's unbelievable. One and two thirds innings pitched for Kevin Ginkle the night. They needed that because FACO's four and you go, we're going to bridge that out. Are you going to make up? Yeah. Where are you going to do that? You know what his numbers were this postseason so far?
Starting point is 00:16:16 Nine innings pitched, six hits, zero. runs two walks 13 k's nine innings dude has pitched a shutout this post season kevin ginkle you know who also has pitched a shut out paul seawald and you should all jump around the savior wait excuse me pope paul seawald the ninth saint seawald aka the savior that's his name of the arizona diamondbacks his name you know why because he saves that's what he does and he saved in the in the most important games in Arizona Diamondbacks history. Look at that trade. Look at what the Diamondbacks did to bring Paul C.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Wald over to absolutely solidify this bullpen and allow everybody to know what their role is. Obviously, Andrew Saul Frank wasn't great tonight. He went one third innings pitch. He gave up two walks. He got himself into a lot of trouble, right? God damn it, Josh, don't you bear down on me with Kinkle? I saw that.
Starting point is 00:17:14 And I know you're just placating to the people's producer. bear down all over me. Don't fucking don't even start with me. I'm not even getting into that with you guys tonight. But I don't even care. Bear down. Fucking Kevin Ginkle, bear down because that man absolutely did.
Starting point is 00:17:27 And so did the savior, Paul Seawald. You can't say enough about what these guys were able to do and the way that they have added such stability to a bullpen that had no stability through the first, I don't even say half of the season, beyond half of the season,
Starting point is 00:17:44 up to the trade deadline when they brought, brought C-Wald over, you know, and I know that Joe Manzapply strongly credited, and he had, he was great tonight, came out two-thirds innings pitch, gave up one hit. Yeah, that was big. That was big. It was really big, right? He got fought out of that situation where fought, you know, whatever. It's, it started off that inning after they pulled fought.
Starting point is 00:18:06 I get what Tori was trying to do, and it worked again, right? He was just trying to get, not necessarily an opener, but through the bulk, through those first, you know, 18 batters and then get to the bullpen again. Tonight it was Man toplied Thompson, Saul, Frank, Ginkle, Seawald. Of course, Saul Frank, not great. Everyone else, absolutely absurdly good. Thompson, one in one-thirds innings pitch, no hits, no anything, because see, that's what he does.
Starting point is 00:18:34 He just quietly does his job. Kevin Ginkle, one and two-thirds innings pitched. Kevin Ginkle, man. Three strikeouts. Are you kidding me? It's just ridiculous. And with Mantiply, too, when he came in, you know, that's why I said they should maybe start the game with.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Or I threw that out there like, hey, maybe Mantiply is, can do the opener thing again. And that allows Fott to start the second inning, maybe a little bit clean with, with Baum or, or Stott, you know, get those big three out of the way early.
Starting point is 00:18:58 But you give up a run there. That's very problematic. Mantipa comes in, immediately gives up a double to Kyle Schwabre, but gets a ground out from Turner, a Harper flyout, 348. I think that was to left field.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Would have got out in Minamade, but hey, this game was played at CBP. And then Thompson comes in and bails them out a little bit and gets the pop up from from Baum, who after that home run was kind of quiet. But the bullpen was masterful tory again in his game of 3D chess, pushed all the right buttons, moved the pieces in the right spot. And this team who was down 02, 02 against a club that had gone to the World Series and represented the National League just last year
Starting point is 00:19:42 and was in a groove in the pocket. They took four out of five games, including the final two at Citizens Bank Park, where the Phillies were 28 and 11. They are now 28 and 13. And they're going home. They're staying home, I should say. They're not going to Arlington.
Starting point is 00:20:02 They're not going nowhere. They're packing their bags. Well, here's what I say. This team, again, they did it in all sorts of ways. but the one thing I felt like that that was a big key to this game, they were very active on the base path in game six and seven. They take those two games at Citizens Bank Park, which is absolutely the toughest environment to play in the MLB postseason.
Starting point is 00:20:25 And they did it especially with those with their legs causing that chaos. Yes. Finally. And again, God damn it. We talked about it like that that's probably part of Tori's master plan. I don't know how it makes all the sense in the world, but I sort of think they were,
Starting point is 00:20:41 they were lulling the Phillies into a false sense of comfort. No, we don't steal at all. The only way they're going to win a game or they're going to win the series, if they take two out of three at home to force a game six, then they go wild. Then in game seven, hog wild,
Starting point is 00:20:57 road wild once again. And you know what? That was the recipe. And that's why Salvatore Anthony Lavello is going to the world series. I love this man, so much. And Tori, we trust. I kept all the receipts, just like Tori did, by the way. I know all the bad things that some of you said about him.
Starting point is 00:21:17 Stolen base. Guriel had a stolen base tonight. Corbyn Carroll, two stolen bases, right? We had Christian Walker get a stolen base. His fourth of the postseason. This team, by the way, going back to Corby Carroll, his two stolen bases in a winner take-all game tied for second in MLB history with 10 other people.
Starting point is 00:21:35 That's fine. But still, tied for second. Yeah. And not too many people have probably stolen. three bases in a postseason game. That would be one gentleman. But three hits for this three hits tonight tied for a record. Most hits in a winner take all game by a rookie.
Starting point is 00:21:51 With Dustin Padrella in 2007. Correct. Correct. Well, that once again. And who won the 2007 World Series? I'm actually don't want to talk about that. I'm not trying to do that. I'm not trying to do that. I'm not trying to do that. I'm not trying to do that. But with his double tonight, Cotel Marte is it safely in each of his first 16
Starting point is 00:22:08 postseason game. He now owns the longest streak in MLB postseason history to beginning postseason career. Yes. Surpassing Marquis Grissom. He had 15 games from 95 to 96. Marte's 16 game postseason hitting streak overall is tied for the fourth longest in MLB postseason history with Michael Brantley. It's behind Manny Ramirez, Derek Jeter, and Hank Bauer. Yep.
Starting point is 00:22:32 So one more. He dies their all-time record for just a hitting streak at any point in anyone's career. And then two more. And two more. He gets it done. In fact, I think Marte, with his hit tonight, they gave him 19 postseason hits. Correct. As a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to my count, that ties Steve Finley for the franchise record.
Starting point is 00:22:52 That is right. Come on. Come on. I'm not trying to out stat. I'm not trying to outstack you. I will never try to outstack you on an Irish, Arizona Diamondbacks. Move on to the World Series. But I'm going to make, I'm going to put out my best game.
Starting point is 00:23:05 But again, per opta stats, Corby Carroll is the first player in MLB history with three hits and two stolen bases in a game seven. Oh, wow. And for that reason, wow, of course, he's our king snake. Two RBI? Sack fly?
Starting point is 00:23:21 Like, he was able to do it all. He was three for four. It's fine. Nobody cares. You know what? We can mess up on all the graphics tonight and everybody is going to, we're going to get excused for that. No matter how many mistakes are made on this people.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Can't Nick Diamondbacks podcast. Nobody cares. Can't change that. That's not a mistake. Do me a favor. You know what? I know Jerry P. already posted his postgame celebration from the clubhouse. Is there any chance that we could just take a look at what is happening in the Arizona
Starting point is 00:23:54 Diamondbacks Clubhouse as we speak? You think they're happy? You think they're feeling good? I'm feeling good. They got the head gear on. If they're feeling good, I'm feeling good. If I'm feeling good, they're feeling good. Some alcohol somewhere.
Starting point is 00:24:18 I want you guys to drink up every single piece of this tonight. This is an amazing accomplishment. As I told you, a connected team, and I felt it from day one with you guys, it's a really, really dangerous team. We're not done yet. Hell. No, he ain't. Hell.
Starting point is 00:24:58 Head West. We're going to make a fucking left in Oklahoma for Dallas and the world fucking soon. He said we're making a fucking left in Oklahoma to the world. series let's go go north in albuquerque oh my god like bugs's buddy i love that yeah yeah tori is somewhere in that mess is our is our baby brother you you took her jessie freedman he's in there somewhere you took her right at rachio kookaunga is what you did but anyway uh no they did not the arizona diamondbacks are fucking wagon and they are going to the world series and i i'm i feel like i'm not going to be humble about this in any way you know we we we have
Starting point is 00:25:59 talked about this team. This team has been underestimated. There has been all to talk about the 84 win team bullshit. There's been all to talk about the fact that this team does not belong here. How do they not belong here? They beat your fucking team. They beat the Dodgers. They swept the Dodgers.
Starting point is 00:26:15 They swept the Brewers. This team absolutely belongs here. In fact, I said that the layoff was probably the worst thing to ever happen to them. And I'm not blaming that for their slow start in games one and two, but this team has been playing meaningful baseball games,
Starting point is 00:26:32 not even since September, since August, they've been playing meaningful baseball games, since July when they had the dark times, and we are through the dark times, and we are here now, and we are at a point where unbelievably, this Arizona Diamondbacks team that everybody thinks doesn't belong
Starting point is 00:26:51 has gone through the toughest teams in the National League. They went through the Brewers that won their division. They went through the, Dodgers that won their division. They went through the Phillies who steamrolled the best team in baseball in the Braves. Yeah. That they did. Try to tell me they don't belong.
Starting point is 00:27:10 And yet. How do they not belong? Here they are. Here they fucking are. A hundred losses, 110 losses two seasons ago. With the same manager. Same guy. Stuck around.
Starting point is 00:27:21 You know what? Let's let's keep this guy. There's a lot of talk about Jesse not being dry. And I am with you guys, a hundred. If he is fucking dry, I will be furious. One more round. One more round. But oh my God.
Starting point is 00:27:35 Debex in five and Jesse's in the pool? Who says no? Who says no? Like that's a reality. I need the Diamondbacks Channing PH and X at Jesse. That's what I need. But of course, we thank you guys so much for being here. And those of you and you know who you are who have been here for the entire ride this season, we thank you especially.
Starting point is 00:27:53 But we thank all of you for being here tonight. Of course, make sure you subscribe to the PHNX Sports YouTube channel. Starting point is 00:28:13 Also, make sure to give us a thumbs up. We love the likes. Gabby will pop up here in a moment and tell you to drop a like, of course. There he is. I love that guy. I fucking love that guy. I would die for Gabriel Moreno. Mr. Diamondback.
Starting point is 00:28:29 by the way, get that man a sash right now. Who are the game-winning RBI? That would be Gabby Moreno. I remember that. In the top of the fifth. Very clearly. That gave the diemacks three-two lead. That's two game-winning RBIs in the series for Gabriel Moreno.
Starting point is 00:28:42 Guys, no catcher. No catcher in postseason history had ever hit third more than once. Three guys ever did it. Joe Mower, the most recent. Walker, Thurman Monson, a borderline Hall of Famer. Thurman Monson. One time. That doesn't think it would sound like a real player.
Starting point is 00:28:58 One time. Gabby is now up to five games, and you see why. Dude is clutch. Amazing. Stealing strikes, pull him up from out of the bottom of the zone. He did that a couple times tonight.
Starting point is 00:29:11 What is this team, by the way? A connected team? It's a dangerous team? A connected team is a dangerous team. It's also a wagon. It's also a wagon. Get the fucking shirt of a fucking dangerous team.
Starting point is 00:29:22 If you want to ride first class, you got to make sure you get signed up. We are dangerous. You didn't listen. I somehow me playing the casino games on here brought me good luck. So I sit in my little chair. I told Damon, I play my little casino games, and somehow I brought this team luck. I also stand behind a pain of glass so that they can't hurt me. There's a lot of things here that maybe don't make sense.
Starting point is 00:31:10 But regardless, somehow the formula of the combination brought the Diamondbacks enough luck for them to advance to the World Series. So what you should do is sign up for the Heelow River and Resorts and Casinos Big Red Showdown. Of course, you'll get an opportunity to win lots of money there. You'll get free rooms. You'll get all sorts of free offers. And especially if you live here in Arizona, you get the chance to go there often. It's a great chance to do that. So I actually talked about maybe doing a little staycation, getting the way down here. I said, give me a room next to Mad Dog. I know he's got some time off ahead of him. So give me one of the better sweets. I love Hella. We retired Bad Dog, by the way, but we'll get to that shortly.

Starting point is 00:33:03 I am definitely not going to sleep tonight. That's a fact. You can check out our friends at OG's brands for yourself and try one or a few of their many delicious flavors. Check them out all across socials at OG's brands online and OGsbrands.com to find them at a local dispenser near you must be 21 or older to enjoy responsibly. Let's see. Let's see what we got in the chat. Let's go to some of our super chats really fast, if you don't mind, David. Also, a quick reminder, Derek, Diamondbacks are going to the World Series. Oh, I'm aware of that.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Okay, moving on. In other news. Was that it? In other news? That was just like a PSA. Once in a while, yeah, I'm just going to be all week, all week, I should say, for like 48 hours. I'm back in Denver catching my breath. I'll just be texting you.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Hey, by the way, Diamondbacks World Series this year, Friday, it starts. That means games three, four, and five in Phoenix, although Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, weird times. But hey, let's not, shouldn't get picky. We don't, we don't need to. That's, that's, Phoenix is hosting the World Series this year. That's incredible. I did not see.
Starting point is 00:34:42 I don't know what to say. The commercials for that yet. Yeah. One thing I will say is that, obviously, we weren't expecting this, but we also knew this team was a wagon. Christopher in our super chat says, Ketel Marte has been outstanding. standing, but the entire bullpen would have gotten NLCS MVP
Starting point is 00:34:59 if they could give it to them. Don't let us get three. They let us get four. They let us get four. What the fuck were they thinking? Damien, we tried to warn them. We said, God forbid you let us get three. Christ alive, they let us get four. What are they thinking? How could they,
Starting point is 00:35:16 how could they do it, Derek? They made a mistake. They made a mistake. Max, here in the super chats is still no more spot for another week. Let's fucking go. I appreciate. I appreciate Max behaving himself. That's nice of him. And we appreciate that. I love you, Max.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Chris Bailey says, just bought my World Series gear. Wow. That's wild. By the way, by the way, everything that's at go P.HNX.com, all the stuff that's in the Dynamax Locker, that's World Series gear, my friend.
Starting point is 00:35:47 You're right. That's World Series. And I mean, of course, the Ph.LY podcast, they need to decide what shirt they're going to buy from us. Can I can I say something about the pHLY podcast? Would you absolutely please do so? I just have been informed that they did a 46 minute show tonight.
Starting point is 00:36:03 They're done. They're done. Loser talk. I will drink their tears later, but that's just for now. T.O. Wildcat, I'm not a big fan of you, but that's ASU. Let's fucking go to Lodcast. He says, bear down, ginkle, go D-Backs. We are firemen.
Starting point is 00:36:19 Yes. I forgot about the fight. We are firemen. You got damn right. A piece of Yoshi who I still, I still, I still see your Twitter handle. Let's bear the hatchet, maybe. I don't know. He saw his fire, Derek, fire statement on there. So I don't know about that.
Starting point is 00:36:35 But he says, sorry, I didn't hear what are the debacks? There are so many things. They're a wagon, Patrick. They're also alive. The best team in the National League. That's the snake. Snakes alive. The word snakes alive.
Starting point is 00:36:49 The pennant winner in the National League. God damn right they are. Mark Salara, aka Don's Bread, says Jesse better be wet. That sounds a little phrasing. I want to see that on a graphic. Is that wrong of me?
Starting point is 00:37:02 Probably. A special graphic? Anyway, what else we got? We got Chef Max. This is the first time I watched a full season of baseball and I picked the D-backs to be my team since I love underdogs. I am officially a fan of baseball
Starting point is 00:37:16 and more importantly, the D-backs. Let's go. Let's go, Chef Mac. That's awesome. Let's go. Welcome to the wagon. Bourbon baseball says as an Astros fan, I am so filled that Straum is going to get another chance to get a World Series ring.
Starting point is 00:37:32 God bless you. That's cool. Shit out of the Rangers, please. We will do our best. That's cool. I love Stromy. And I mean, I can't say enough. I mean, we joked about the conversation.
Starting point is 00:37:43 We had our little faux conversation. You cannot say enough about what this man has done for this pitching staff. The belief that he's been able to instill and, certain pitchers and specifically like you know we've talked about how this bullpen came together and I think that strom is just yes a huge part of that and if you remember in that fourth inning when philly went ahead to one um it was a big spot there you had uh you had runners on the corners first and third and fought had to get out of that inning and strom is pointing to his head careful careful with marsh up there at the plate he's you're right they brought that up
Starting point is 00:38:21 on the broadcast sneaky dangerous right he's one of those guys careful pointed to his head jestering because you got rojas on deck who was hitting below what is zero point nine zero i believe a batting average so far in this series right it's like face rojas he was o for nine with runners in scoring position with three strikeouts and so what happens he walks marsh and says basically hey it's cool dude load the bases up we've got confidence in yeah remember kentucky remember july remember rino Remember your mom picking up the phone call and I had to explain who I was for five minutes. Watch the beginning of this podcast or watch this live show. We reenacted that combo was like.
Starting point is 00:38:59 You got this and he did four pitch strikeout for a seventh of the night. Brandon fought. Big game, Brandon. It's incredible. It's just amazing. Man, you can't say enough about that. It's going to be interesting to see what fan bases latch on to the Diamondbacks because right there you go Astros fans. They don't want to see the Rangers, obviously.
Starting point is 00:39:19 But now they got, oh, hey, Brent Strom. Brent Strom is with the with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Okay, Astros fans we know are going to be pulling for the Diamondbacks. Dodgers fans, I guess, I guess they might as well just be rooting for the Rangers. Giants fans, you know, they're going to be rooting for Bruce Bochie over there. Emma is the one over here causing all sorts of trouble, by the way. I just wanted to tell you guys, want to blame it on her. What a little watch party we had here in the studio.
Starting point is 00:39:48 What a fucking night here in the studio. Everybody's here. I feel so bad for the people on the fourth floor, to be honest, a little bit. Fuck them. Everybody jumping up and down. It was 70 consecutive seconds of jumping around. Look, I started the song early, but I did not give a shit because I felt like in an important case like this, we should jump around for an extended period of time.
Starting point is 00:40:09 And you know that. You know that about me. I'm not going to relent when it comes to this stuff. But let's take a look really fast at the numbers from this incredibly long series because holy shit that's a lot of runs scored a lot of errors a lot of hits starting pitching the phillies have better numbers but you know what the best number is four to three god damn right and losses that's the only thing that matters i mean realistically what this illustrates is that the the philly's one-handedly obviously in their yeah in their fucking wins right in the diamond
Starting point is 00:40:45 Backs, some of their wins were close. But I think that this, for me, even though the relief pitching ERA for the Diamondbacks is 3.77, I still feel like this proves that the Diamondbacks bullpen just came in, especially in these close games and we're able to hold it down. The Phillies are impressive team, and I'm not going to take anything away from them. The Diamondbacks were absolutely the underdog in this series. And what they did was they found a way, especially in. game six and game seven back at Citizens Bank Park to play their brand of baseball.
Starting point is 00:41:22 Yes. Which is not easy to play, right? But we've talked about it, right? The Phillies live and die with the walks and the home runs. And if you can limit those, which Brandon Fott did tonight, the bullpen did tonight, then you can limit the offense. I'll already go ahead and snuff out any arguments or or any opinions about, well, the Phillies scored nine more runs, so they were the better team.
Starting point is 00:41:43 You play to win the game. Yeah. The Diamondbacks won four of the seven games. No one is going around saying, well, the Pittsburgh Pirates should not have won the 1960 World Series. Because in that World Series, the New York Yankees scored 57 runs in seven games, more than any team has ever scored in a World Series. They won the run differential. They scored 28 more runs than the Pittsburgh Pirates. The bottom line is the Pirates won four games.
Starting point is 00:42:10 The Yankees only won three games. Thanks to Bill Maseroski's walkoff home run there. broke my dad's heart when he was a little kid. Too bad, so sad. Pirates, 1960s world series champion. 2023, National League champion, Arizona Diamondbacks. You play to win the game. The Diamondbacks won one more game than the Phillies. That is why they, the snakes, are alive.
Starting point is 00:42:32 I have drank nearly an entire bottle of champagne, so it's time for me to get entirely too emotional. You have a knob left. I have a little knob. No, I'm going to hold on to that. You know what you're going to save your knob? I want to give a shout out. I know we've lost a lot of people that were very close to us here at PHMX.
Starting point is 00:42:48 And when I say that, I mean, my father passed away a year ago. Danielle Cortez, who is one of our producers. She lost her father not too long ago. And I know Chris, one of our biggest supporters from the diehard community, she lost her mom. And it can't, it feels very emotional because it can't just be, you know, chance. that we have all of these wonderful people watching over this team who are no longer with us, who helped this team along.
Starting point is 00:43:21 You know what I mean? And I mean, the reason why I say that is because this team at times, it doesn't make sense that they made it this far. You know what I mean? Like, it really doesn't. But when you look at what they've been able to accomplish as a team, and again, it goes beyond that because it goes on to Mike Hazen and the loss of his wife, Nicole, and how much she meant to this team. out but she meant to baseball. I'm going to get a little teary-eyed here, but it's special. And, I mean, it means a lot to so many of us that are connected to this team, you know,
Starting point is 00:43:56 for them to be here and to be able to be where they're at. But we have video from the clubhouse. And of course, we can't wait to take a look at what the celebration looks like in there. Man, this is exactly what we want to see. Jerry P. That's my case. That is my case. No goggles.
Starting point is 00:44:21 No goggles. Respect, my man. This is First World Series, too. Let's go. I'm just looking for Jesse. I'm just trying to see him. I need to find Jesse. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:44:31 It's like where's Waldo? He is the same height as Waldo. Not many people know that he's built. And you know what? Just to piggyback off that really beautiful and sweet sentiment, you know, there's a lot of the articles. If you look this entire postseason over on go p.nx.com. one of the key words throughout Jesse's articles, some of my articles, is magic.
Starting point is 00:44:51 There's been a lot of magic this postseason. The post, you know, the Game 5 recap where it seemed like, hey, the magic at Chase Field, it just wasn't there for the Diamondbacks going down three to, finally losing at home to Chase. And you go, you're going back to Philadelphia. Man, this was kind of a key game. If it really was the Diamondbacks year, they had to have win Game 5, but they didn't. The magic was gone. And yet, yet they went to the East Coast, not to get their ass kicked,
Starting point is 00:45:19 but they went there to find the magic, to rekindle those spirits, to get reconnected with one another in that clubhouse and for this community to come back together. And now everyone in the community, whether they are still on this earth or not, they're going to the World Series. Yeah, man, it's incredible. And here is Mike Hazen on the game recap and the bullpen. And of course, ski to you.
Starting point is 00:45:44 all before we get into this video. Let's go. I'm missing the person that's supposed to be here with me, but I know she's with us the whole way. Sometimes when I think about how improbable this is, I think that's part of what I think is why we're good. I think I'm crazy. How much easier did this become to envision when you realize
Starting point is 00:46:04 Corbyn Kelly is going to be a star? Yeah, I mean, look, he's a best player, and we have so many good players, but he's a superstar, and you can't win without superstars. You see the superstars on their team, and you saw what Schroever did in his playoff, and somehow we withstood that. And, you know, but we wouldn't be where we are without him. What is the funny time? What is that happening in the United States?
Starting point is 00:46:27 Yeah, it says a tremendous amount, right? There's a lot of grit going into that. There's a lot of having to deal with the environment here, with the fans. It's such a great baseball environment. This is what we want. This is where we want to be, where we want to play. If you're going to win and you have to win, you have to go through places like this, the best baseball cities in our sport, and we were able to do it.
Starting point is 00:46:53 They started ripping off some pretty good stuff during the middle of September and really started to carry us, and I think at that point moving forward, they barely gave up a run. You know what everyone's saying you got this surprise this year, do you think we'll go back to put it in a few years differently once the score? No, I think this is probably a surprise that 84 win teams is taking down a team. You got to playoff. You're going to put in the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:47:19 I never know if possible. You got to play well. You got to do things well. We've done those things. The bullpen's been extremely good. We hadn't hit much in the whole set, you know, the second half going in through September. So the offense has definitely been like a surprise in that way
Starting point is 00:47:36 we're playing. But the bullpen's been lights out start to finish. And I think that's the reason we're here. I mean, there's no surprise whatsoever. He's one of the best players in this league. You guys have a big talk before you came here as far as being a lot more aggressive because you guys were different teams last day. No, I think that's just what we've always tried to be.
Starting point is 00:47:59 I think when we became not as aggressive, it was because we weren't getting on bait. We weren't able to do it. And even through the beginning of the series, they shut us down. But the last two days, we've just, we've just, We ran wild and paid off boards. I mean, probably pretty hot, as my guess. Yeah. Well, first of all, with the playoff system now,
Starting point is 00:48:23 with six wildcard with six playoff teams, back in the day, the 84-win team probably doesn't get the playoffs. So that's probably a new format to begin with, but probably ranks up there pretty high. Like you guys, never feel right in him on the 10 or something. Yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 00:48:38 And a hole-up shake. Yeah. Ski. Wow. First they're playing, they're playing meek mill in the clubhouse in Philly. Let's go. Sexy Red.
Starting point is 00:48:49 Let's go. Sexy Red. Thank you, Sean. My God, there was a lot there from Mike Hazen, but he talked about his wife, Nicole. He talked about this win. He talked about obviously what this bullpen has meant to this team. And you just cannot say enough about what this bullpen has meant to this team.
Starting point is 00:49:08 This is the kind of game that, Honestly, when you talk about magic, when you talk about, you know, a lot of the things rolling in the home team's direction, that's a late inning thing, right? That's after the starting pitcher leaves, it's after you start getting into some of these bullpen's arms and you start getting the Schwabers and the Harper's going. And somehow this bullpen kept all of that offense silent. And I mean, again, you just you just can't say enough about this adapted mutated bullpen. that is not at all the bullpen that we were watching, you know, perform in April that is here now winning this team games. They, they did it. They played a team game and that's how you have to do it.
Starting point is 00:49:53 And Tori was just a genius. It was really, I feel like a master class. And I don't know that Rob Thompson was outmanaged so much as it just was. Tori knew the pieces that he had and there's one way to win these games. and this was the only way they could have done it. I really be curious to know if he thought, yeah, I really thought seven games was just kind of the way that it was going to go. Maybe not exactly the way that they thought it would go
Starting point is 00:50:22 because we said the recipe, the recipe was three wins from Gallen and Kelly. They got one, one from the bullpen and two from BG, Br. Brandon. Big game brand. Big game brand. I mean, this is like the kind of thing that transforms your career and legitimately makes you into a superstar. And I know that obviously, you know, Brandon fought, you know, the, even tonight's results are you, you would desire a little best. So we talked about his line, right? He went four innings pitched, four hits,
Starting point is 00:51:02 gave up two earn runs, walked two, struck out seven. But you can't help but being encouraged by a couple of things about this young man, about his ability to have composure. Amazing. Yeah. His ability to come out here and just absolutely perform at the highest level in the biggest game of his career, second biggest game, arguably third, maybe third biggest game of the Arizona Diamondbacks franchise?
Starting point is 00:51:31 I mean, it's just fucking wild. I think we, I said it, we said it on a yesterday's show on, on Monday before. game six that this is the latest that the Diamondbacks have played in a season into the postseason since 2001 so you could argue this is the second greatest team in Diamondbacks history and now they just are they just are only the second Debex team to ever I just reached the fall classic I can't believe it like all I can think about is flex comforting me all night long flex flex flex almost put me to bed with a blanket
Starting point is 00:52:08 and a glass of warm milk and rub my back for a little bit brought me some alcalado you know and that kind of thing to rub on my feet you know just so I had a good night it's okay let's take a look at some of those super chats by the way they also make me feel okay Caesar shout out to you is I love the picture you posted by the way of me on Twitter last night it was an epic all-time photo and I appreciate it
Starting point is 00:52:33 he said to Mad Dog Russo better learn some shiny buddy oh my god don't worry we're gonna have a retirement party for bad dog russo tomorrow so we're looking forward to that so make sure to come back here for this Thomas of course says just came from the pHL Y channel absolutely melting down they aren't shambles
Starting point is 00:52:55 just like we fucking knew they would be thank you Thomas like their loser team and that loser Garrett Stubbs hit that absolute loser Garrett Stubbs where was he tonight remember when he said we were going to celebrate in our fucking pool. In our pool.
Starting point is 00:53:11 In our pool. My pool. You fucking poverty franchise. You don't even have a pool. And you thought you were going to party in our pool? Who is Garrett Stubbs to be talking about anything? Nobody. Well, he's the Philly fanatic.
Starting point is 00:53:27 He's the Philly fucking fanatic. He's the team mascot. And he has plenty of time to determine what his role on this team is going to be going forward. Do we know if Tori and the boys are going down to Pat and Gino's? after the game right now. They're walking down.
Starting point is 00:53:40 They're walking down Bronx to get there. They were eating cheese sticks before the game. They said, I don't give a shit about your fucking team or your city. We are not scared. Oh my God. Can we go to some more super chats please? Again, cheese sticks with and without. All right.
Starting point is 00:53:55 Joe says this young core will be together for years. And again, I don't like, ah. It's so hard to just be like, man, the experience that Corbyn and Gabby are getting is invaluable, but it really is. But fuck all that. We're past that. We're going to win a championship. We are here to take the whole goddamn thing.
Starting point is 00:54:18 Super chat from Devonel. We thank you. Of course, Vince, you are just off the rails tonight. We appreciate Vince Garcia so much. That's my dude right now. That's my dude, Vince. I love you, Vince.
Starting point is 00:54:29 I absolutely love you. I'll love me after the show. Only feet.com slash patty plant chains. No, stop getting into my. No, he's my sugar daddy. He said the psycho ginkle is all our spirit animal right now. You're absolutely right, Vince. I love that man.
Starting point is 00:54:43 Didn't we say it after game six? Actually, David said he was reserving the big scream, the big yell, the big emotional. He didn't react after game after game six. He was a business as usual. He said, I'll be back tomorrow giving you an inning in two thirds. He said the business. And I'll scream all over there. I'll scream all over their faces.
Starting point is 00:55:00 Yeah. Caesar again says last time I saw the Debex in the World Series was 2001. I was in sixth. grade tears of facking joy i was much older than you caesar so i'm not gonna now i wish i was say i was in elementary school but i was not cesar dude you know what that was 22 years ago when you were in sixth grade congratulations i'm making it to 28th grade my best friend in the entire world joshua schlag is here and he says glorious chug derrick so i will finish us up now you finish that knob you got a knob left and now it's gone that's how you do it
Starting point is 00:55:32 wow there wasn't enough left but i love you josh uh another wildcat josh is also a wildcat A lot of wildcats here says bear down ginkle, bear down debacks. I'm fine with it. I'm going to let everything slide tonight. Caesar says I'm feeling ginky tonight. Also feeling very ginky tonight myself, Caesar. Our comrade BM says, I'm crying now. I'm too young for 2001.
Starting point is 00:55:56 My dad went to all four home games. I'm going to game five and I just wish I could experience it with him. Our heart goes out to you. And I know I feel a very similar way myself. So this is emotional for a lot of us. I know a lot of Arizona Diamondbacks fans were too young to, I mean, maybe not too young to remember, but they were very young. And of course, this is what it's all about, right? It's about at times having those memories built and then, you know, becoming a fan and going through 22 years of struggles until we get back to this point.
Starting point is 00:56:34 I think the thing that's most exciting about this team is the fact that this isn't like a team that was put together in a way to win a championship. This was a team that was put together in a way to advance the franchise into the future. Yeah. And instead of that future being in the future, the future is somehow now. And obviously great things are going on in the Sun's game. I don't know if you guys can hear that on my mic, but I don't care. I'm having a great time. This is a great time here at PHNX studios.
Starting point is 00:57:10 And I mean, a big part of that is the fact that this is just such an incredible win for the state of Arizona. The state, the entire state, yes. The sports community here in the valley. Let me hit you with this one. The Diamondbacks went 16 and 34. This is from Sauer Langs, fantastic, slangs on sports. DVACs went 16 and 34, 320 winning percentage, which is pretty much what the Rockies did. all year.
Starting point is 00:57:35 Over a span from... They won eight games in the... Eight games on the road. Eight games on the road after the post season. Again, Sispo's family. Sorry, I don't mean... Sorry. D-Eexec 16 and 34 from June 13 to August 11th.
Starting point is 00:57:48 That's the lowest winning percentage in a 50 game span by an eventual pennant winner. And she finishes by saying, never give up baseball. Never surrender. Let's fucking go. Do we have some more videos from the clubhouse? Here's Longo with a beer,
Starting point is 00:58:04 bucket poured on him. I don't care. I just want to watch this. And you know what? Look at him shirtless. You know what this is? Look at him shirtless. Check this out. What an absolute fucking shirtless legend right now. He's going back to the World Series for the first time since 2008. He's only the fourth player in the first non-pitcher to appear in the World Series 15 years after his prior appearance. Four other guys were pitchers. The three other guys were pitchers. Dennis Martinez is the most recent one. The first position player to ever do this. First position player. 15 years or more after going to the World Series. We love you.
Starting point is 00:58:38 You know what? We got another celebration victory. I don't even know. Victory video, celebration video. It doesn't matter what you want to call it. Corby and Carol with a cigar in his mouth. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:58:48 Let's go. It's like it's the first time he's ever smoked. I don't know. He did before. I don't give a shit. That's electric. That's his first one. Derek, that is absolutely the first time he's ever smoked anything in his entire life.
Starting point is 00:59:00 That's a fact. Someone in the chat. It's a good boy. El Cornell says Phillies are calling it a choke job. Maybe. Maybe. Okay. But I will say this.
Starting point is 00:59:10 Losers. Did we not fucking give credit to Zach Wheeler? He was great tonight. As much as we wanted to blame the offense and say the offense is dog shit and they disappeared. We didn't do that, right? We said, yes, the offense disappeared. But we tipped our cap to Zach Wheeler. So you should absolutely tip your cap to this fucking team.
Starting point is 00:59:31 Don't get me that bullshit. I don't care what they have to say. from their couch, to be quite honest. I really don't either. From Cancun? Yeah. Yeah. Enjoy Cancun, fellas.
Starting point is 00:59:41 The couchies? The party stretches all the way to Arizona, by the way. I don't know if you knew that. It goes through Oklahoma as well, just so you know. I can't get enough of that. It stops over. All right. I wonder if they're, are they taking a bus?
Starting point is 00:59:53 Is it a Greyhound situation? Also, should I feel bad that I've been staying here for the last week at the Phoenician and Jesse's been doing the Greyhound thing? No, I've been diverting all of our funds to you. and your comfort because I don't give a shit about Jesse in Philadelphia. I hope he gets a cheese steak one time. And then after that, I hope his trip is very bad. But of course, Jesse Friedman, my vice mayor, your thunderstick will be joining us here shortly.
Starting point is 01:00:18 He's your thunder stick. He's my booms stick. He's your booms stick, my thunder stick, his fucking vice mayor. It doesn't matter. I don't care any about that. Vince Garcia, by the way, once again, says let's all tune into the Christopher Russo retirement ceremony. No, we don't want people to stop viewing here. You got good numbers.
Starting point is 01:00:34 Maybe tomorrow I'll do that. Patrick, who I love, is leaving tomorrow, but just for a short time because unfortunately, Patrick has tethered himself to this team. He's got to go home to kiss his wife briefly, take care of some bills that he has to pay. And then he will be right the fuck back here to join us for game one for the World Series, whether he likes it or not. It's not, I don't care. You're here now.
Starting point is 01:00:59 You've committed yourself to this run. Yeah, exactly. you are part you're part of the serpents inside have i become the pee of the phnx at this point no okay oh i went too far sorry i was way too far not you fucking idiot um but anyway uh let's take a look here charles woodall pike says all the phillies fans calling the police tonight because the dbacks just pulled a major heist at the bank we robbed the motherfucking bank charles that's good a an adult film company sent gallons and gallons of lube Mm-hmm. To Philadelphia for them to grease their poles.
Starting point is 01:01:37 But wait a minute. So, but they've got, they're dry. They're bone dry right now, huh? Bone dry in Philadelphia, huh? All right. That's crazy. Dr. Knight Hawk, known traitor. She's a fucking traitor.
Starting point is 01:01:52 She says, I never doubted y'all. She's a liar. Kristen rules. She's great. I don't care. You can defend her all you want. She's a traitor. She bought a Philadelphia Philly shirt.
Starting point is 01:02:01 a pH-Y Philly shirt You know what I didn't see? You know what I didn't see, Damon? Her purchase a pH-N-X shirt. So she's a goddamn turncoat and I sniffed her out the whole time. Because Jamie and Renee on the P-H-O-I-Filly show, they'll just have to be wearing some D-Back, pH-NX D-Back.
Starting point is 01:02:20 I guess we all got to go get P-HNX merch. Go to the P-HNX Locker.com. She said I never doubted y'all. I don't believe that. She said I'm gifting you half of my proceeds from the win. She got she bet $70. So of course, I better see that in a super chat more. I mean, she said $4.99.
Starting point is 01:02:37 I feel like she won more money than that, you coward. She said love PHLY. Hey, come on. No, no, no. Chris is great. I saw her wearing a PHLY shirt. Get out of here with that. Mr. Grim in the super chat.
Starting point is 01:02:53 We thank you said my curse charge donation. Yeah, they just, I'm giving them my MGM, Mastercard. B said someone called 911 the D-bags of Rob Citizens Bank. This is not a drill. Repeat. This is not a drill.
Starting point is 01:03:08 Just to let you know. All right. Of course, Jesse is going to be joining us shortly from the aforementioned Citizens Bank Park. Will he be wet? Will he be wet like the entire Arizona Diamondbacks? Will he be dry like the stoplight poles in Philadelphia? I drank a lot of champagne tonight.
Starting point is 01:03:26 And it's definitely impacting my ability. to do host his show. But you're doing fine, buddy. You got this. I'm all right. We're keeping things on track. Of course, one wonderful thing you can do is check out the Bet MGM Sportsbook app. Yes.
Starting point is 01:03:38 Of course, I bet on the Phillies. And of course, I will continue to bet on the Rangers when we get to the World Series because that somehow worked. But you can actually probably use it for more beneficial personal reasons. I have no problem donating my $5 to the cause. of course you might want to actually make some money but what you can do if you have not logged into the bet mjem app is use our code of ph and x and if you do you can download that app on ios or android or log in and betmgm.com and then sign up with that code of phnx all you got to do is deposit $10 into your account and then you also bet that $10 on a standard odds price qualifying bet once you do you will get $200 in bonus
Starting point is 01:04:24 bets regardless of the outcome of your wager. Again, sign up at bet MGM and use that bonus code of pH and X. And again, I don't care that my $5 went towards helping the Diamondbacks getting the world series. I think I probably lost about $40, $50, $60. I've lost track at this point and I absolutely do not care. But again, use that bonus code of pH and X. If you place your first bet MGM Sportsbook wager through the bet MGM Sportsbook mobile application of at least $10, you will receive $200 instantly in additional winnings regardless of your wager's outcome. Check out the show notes for full details. And now listen to Shane.

Starting point is 01:06:43 use the code PHNX and you will receive 10% off let's take a look uh damon real fast and some of those super chats that we got so appreciative of all of you albert our guy albert by the way albert uh so many of these guys have come out to all of our our meetups all of our you know takeovers at chase field all it's one of those guys uh he has to let his beard grow inexplicably out of control in support of this team and he says call an ambulance but not for us us. I met Albert the first time. Good lad. A piece of Yoshi, again, unknown abuser of me and Damon says reminder that the Phillies lost to a guy that always looks like he's being asked out by the girl. He likes hashtag big game Brandon. We absolutely are not taking any big game brand and
Starting point is 01:07:32 slander on this show. I just want to remind you of that. Damon never did not believe in big game. I'm just going to chew my own horn right here because I say, You should because I did not. I will happily say that of all the people, Jesse, me, Patrick, Damon of Sean. I'll throw Sean in there. I vividly remember a three-person show where you three were all in agreement that Zach Davies should start over Brandon fought in the playoffs in a three-game rotation. And I said, fuck no. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:04 With a P.F. With a P.F. Because Brandon fought is a savage. He is a savage. He's amazing. A star was born. Albert said there better be watch parties or wash-alongs or something for the World Series games. I'm just going to work nonstop.
Starting point is 01:08:19 And this man never gets to see his family ever again. That's the way it works. He just lives at Saul's house now. That's the way it works. Can you imagine that fate? The bad truck or beard trucker says, Philly didn't choke A-Z. What happened there? A-Z was just better today.
Starting point is 01:08:35 Tip of the cap to you. Yeah. And that's a great way to put it. Honestly, the whole choking thing. is kind of like it's nuts, right? I mean, Phillies were a wild car team. They choked this season.
Starting point is 01:08:49 They didn't beat Atlanta in their own division. I guess you could say they choked in the aspect. They're the favorites, but there's no spots necessarily that I could think of. It was like, oh, man, this guy should have done this here or someone like messed up or just just aired in such a way that was so egregious. The Diamondbacks just kind of outplayed them. When the Phillies took a three-two lead after taking game five in Arizona. Right. Did that not seem to you at least like, oh, well, this series kind of seems over.
Starting point is 01:09:17 And again, maybe maybe it's because Arizona sports has harmed me in a way that's irreparable, right? But like I did feel like once the Phillies had a chance to go up and then have two games back at, as we've discussed at length, the most difficult place to play in the playoffs, as far as the MLB Yoffs go, it didn't, it didn't feel great. You know what I mean? It didn't feel great. And understandably so. I bet I hedged. I Sonic the hedgehogged my bets. And I, of course, helped us win as well.
Starting point is 01:09:52 That was a big part of it. I know I probably deserve King Snake, but I'm not going to take that. You're modest. I know, so modest. But, I mean, the whole thing is just a unbelievable to me. Well, the must nashes might deserve King Snake. The fucking, the playoffs. They might.
Starting point is 01:10:06 Absolutely. Dammit, I shaved my face bald. It was a weird feeling. I know. It's been like 12 years since that's happened. And look at the magic. Look, it's so magical. I love Benjamin's comment.
Starting point is 01:10:17 It was very magical. I was told it was, quote, their year in reference to the Phillies over the Diamondbacks. I mean, I think a lot of people were told that. Have you not been paying attention to Mailbag Monday is Benjamin? Because every mailbag Monday, we've tried to tell you that every year,
Starting point is 01:10:35 every year is our fucking year. Also, Oh, there's more to that too. Yeah, every month. It's a fan of heritage month. It's also Black Women's History Month. It's also every day or week, Shark Week, every day or day, every Monday mail. Everyone, everyone.
Starting point is 01:10:49 Vince, again, from the top rope, chug that beer like it's Philly's tears. Dude, Vince's superchats are all flat. Look, Vince, Lex texts me after we're done. We could be a day, dude. Yeah, for sure. We love you, Vince is clutch. Thank you, Benjamin. Brett Johnson, who we can hear from his house right now, said, best fan.
Starting point is 01:11:09 in baseball left early in game six just to stay in boo after game seven all after buying tickets in arizona by the way said tickets that they didn't use yeah can you spell bozos b oz o s you're a bunch of clowns uh justin mcdermott says going to game one fan in shrieve port louisiana we love you Justin. Thank you so much. Of course, our sugar daddy, Vince Garcia, says, if you're scared, stay home. We tried to warn you. Stay home.
Starting point is 01:11:42 It's what you suit up for in fucking March so that you can play games in November. JSW 789 said, what a team, what a game. Gingle is nasty. Carol was dangerous. Marta is a dog. And this team is a wagon. Oh, my God. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:11:59 Get the shirt. Let's see. Carlos, of course, our friend Carlos says it ain't soccer, Philly. It doesn't matter how badly we lose the games, we lose. No aggregate scoring says Carlos IP. What matters is the amount of games we win. The
Starting point is 01:12:14 D-backs are your National League champions. Dr. Knightheart trying to, Nighthawks. See, I told you, Kristen, was great. We love you, Krista. She says, snakes, six, thanks. Sorry for whatever. Snake snakes, snakes. We love you. Snakes in the world series. She's very tall,
Starting point is 01:12:28 by the way, so I don't really want to get on her bad side. I don't know what that has to with anything. She knows her stuff about baseball. Let's see what else we got. Michael says, D-Backs Rising, creating chaos. Yes, definitely. Both teams. This little, this little tombstone comes from our friends over at the
Starting point is 01:12:44 PHS and X Rising podcast. So we thank them and we thank you, Michael, for being here. A San Diego loyal on top of this. And then. Loils are in the box. Phillies in a box. Phillies in a box. Deges in a box. They're on a golf course somewhere, actually. Let's see. Colin. Wait, we got
Starting point is 01:13:02 Colin here. Colin and I, we're very kindred spirits here. Colin said my dad and I attended the first game ever in the Bob at Bankland Ballpark. I was eight, passed away in April. This means so much to me. This means so damn much to me. It means so damn much to all of us. But of course,
Starting point is 01:13:18 Colin, we love you. And that's beautiful. And I mean, like I said, I am almost literally one year from the day when I lost my father. And I know that like one of my, like the last two weeks, I spent a lot of time with my dad. just trying to make sure I was there as much as possible.
Starting point is 01:13:34 You know what I mean? And I remember one time I walked in and he literally was furious about what the sons were doing with their roster. You know? And sports connects us, right? Like they talk about being a connected team. But we're connected community because of this team. And we are only going to continue to be more connected because of this team advancing in a way that we never imagine that they would. like Jesse and I were just texting each other back and forth today going, can you believe this?
Starting point is 01:14:09 I mean, we started this podcast at the most dismal time in franchise history outside of 2004. You know, they had lost 110 games. And it didn't stop there. We went into a lockout. We didn't know when the 2022 season was going to begin. Or if we were going to get one. Or if we were even going to get one or how it was going to look. We survived a pandemic.
Starting point is 01:14:35 And we, I was there when there were cutouts of fans and famous people in the seats at Diamondbacks games and stuffed animals and shit. Like it's just so incredible to think of this team being here where they're at. And it doesn't, to me, it absolutely makes no sense at all that they're here. but it is like it is what sports is all about right it's why we have playoffs it's why we allow there to be more than you know two teams adding into playoffs or whatever i've heard a lot of stuff about layoffs and you know allowing this many you know uh wildcard teams and all of this stuff and like why this is amazing and i mean especially for a team like the diamond backs like the rangers meanwhile you know they it's not to take anything away from them they are also a
Starting point is 01:15:27 team that turned things around quickly and it's unbelievable how quickly they are here at the pinnacle. But it's just unbelievable to us that this team is now here, especially with the way that they constructed it playing for the championship. Yeah. This is wild.
Starting point is 01:15:46 Yeah. Rangers got in the exact same way. They did not win their division. You know, they kind of collapsed a little bit late in the season. But you look at the full picture. You look at the full marathon. It doesn't matter how slow. you were in the final miles.
Starting point is 01:15:59 It matters that when you cross the finish line, did you do it quicker? Did you have more wins than everyone else? And so the Rangers, yes, they were amongst the top six teams. Diamondbacks, same thing. And so you get into the postseason, and now it's a runoff. Now you play differently.
Starting point is 01:16:14 You've seen Tori managing differently throughout this entire postseason because it's now becomes a sprint. Imagine running a marathon, and then you have to sprint after that. It's one of the reasons why teams like Atlanta and the Dodgers, you know, were dumped out so early.
Starting point is 01:16:29 And then some of the teams over in the American League as well, you know, but you play the games and you go and you show up to do the thing. And whoever wins continues to advance. And so whether you like it or not, snakes alive. They are going to the 20, 23 World Series, damn it. It's fucking wild. Like baseball is that game, right? And I mean, all sports is wonderful like this.
Starting point is 01:16:52 But other sports tend to trend in the right direction where during the course of their season, You know, the elite team separate themselves from the rest. When we get to the playoffs, those teams typically, you know, beat up on the other teams. We did not see that this postseason in the American League and the National League. And now somehow your 84 win Arizona Diamondbacks are the National League champion. Because the Grand Canyon is better than Jake Cave. Thank you, Wildcat fan. Is there any other puns you want to get in real fast?
Starting point is 01:17:25 Oh, my God. I've been waiting. Let me pull the document up. Let me pull the document up. Yeah, I was going to say. Honestly, I'm in such a good mood tonight that I would fucking absolutely let you just go off on dad joke after dad. No, I open face smile. Yeah. I stop.
Starting point is 01:17:40 I stop with the point. If I find out. I sit under the camera. Let him do some fucking open mic work. If I see that Damon is producing, I go, I'm not going to shut off the part of my brain. I get it. To BMC, of course, with our super chat. We thank you for your super chat.
Starting point is 01:17:55 Our guy, Brett Johnson, of course, is yellow. from his house said philly's fans left early game six huss to stay and boo game seven and claim to be the best fans l m ao bozos yeah i mean honestly you're going to sick around and boo your boo your team after the season they had like the diamondbacks didn't weren't supposed to be here the phillies weren't supposed to be here right this was supposed to be the dodgers versus the fucking braves right and neither of those teams made it here instead it's us so no no don't don't i mean you can i'm going to let you but i'm going to say philly's fans should hold their heads high just like i would have fucking said this about diamondbacks fans tonight i would have said you should hold your head high your team
Starting point is 01:18:41 did not belong to be here but they were here they were playing in a game seven and they were one win of way from the world series and win or lose this diamond backs team absolutely deserve to be proud of themselves for what they've accomplished this year in a year when they had no business, no business according to the so-called experts, according to people that weren't on the PH and X Diamondbacks podcast, that they had no business being this far in the playoffs. Meanwhile, we've been talking about what the route for the fucking championship parade would look like since September. I'm just saying.
Starting point is 01:19:15 That's a fact. But here's the thing is that Diamond Xx fans are definitely having the best October, because it wasn't as expected, so they're really able to enjoy it. There is something about fans or a fan experience when you expect your team to win the World Series, and when they don't win the World Series, it's like a disappointment. Like that's kind of hard. Like in a way, that can be hard. Maybe it's a little unfair for fans to do that and have like those expectations.
Starting point is 01:19:44 You're almost setting yourself up for failure because odds are nine times out of 10, if not, 99 times out of 100. Your team's not going to win it. So you have to be able to find that joy in there somewhere. So in a way, maybe I feel bad for those Phillies fans that are, you know, by fair weather, perhaps. You should be proud of your team. I don't give a shit.
Starting point is 01:20:03 I don't care. I made a lot of huge memories. Do we have a video of Tori that's entirely too close to his face because that's what I feel like I need to see right now? And it's on Mad Dog Russo. Let's fucking go. You're done, Russo. So I've already told the Mad Dog.
Starting point is 01:20:18 I've said it a couple times, right? I'm like, he's got to put his money where his mouth. He's got a him and Stephen A. Smith go back and forth with all these broken promises, right? Like, I think he had his last day at the network today as far as I'm concerned. And I say, you know, we got, we got some, we're accepting applications in Arizona. So you want to work for the debacks. We'll take you. Let's go for sure.
Starting point is 01:20:39 But he told me the last time he said, I'm going to be on you for the next series to. Just make sure you give it back to me. And I humbly accepted that. I don't like to do that. But I'm having fun with it now, Mad Dog. You know I love you. We're going to go buy you a fucking cake for your retirement, mad dog, because your career is a rap.
Starting point is 01:20:57 Do not ever bet against the snakes. Don't bet against the snakes. That's absolutely foolish. Never. Never. Do we have more videos? I need more videos. He did say that.
Starting point is 01:21:10 He's done an MLB network. I don't know if maybe he's still going to have his channel on Sirius XM radio. I don't know what show he said that on. What gig he's quitting. Maybe it'll just be his ESPN. Take a lot with you. and I don't mean this is any like attack on her, but she attacked my guys at Cespitous family barbecue
Starting point is 01:21:26 and I defend those boys until the fucking end. So sorry, the both of you could go away now. I'm sorry. But of course, the Arizona Diamondbacks are motherfucking wagon. And that's the, that's where we're at right now.
Starting point is 01:21:38 Some more super jats. You'd run through fire for that guy. As you as we all fire. I would run over fucking red hot coals. I would run through a brick wall. I would run into traffic. for Tori right now. Are you kidding me? Joe says who's going to welcome them home at the airport? That is an absolute great question because this community absolutely came together,
Starting point is 01:22:02 no matter what Sky Harbor Airport thought about it. And we welcome the suns back during their impressive run when it came to their finals appearance and everything they did in the playoffs. This Arizona Diamondbacks team deserves the absolute welcome of champions, kings, and anything else you can describe when it comes to a gentleman landing in a plane. But there is a shirtless video of Evan Longoria from the clubhouse. It might cause me to get shirtless. I have no way of telling you for sure. But, David,
Starting point is 01:22:35 can we take a look at what Evan has to say about this time of Beck's improbable World Series run? I've been pumping Corvin's tires this whole playoff. You know, he had a big series in Milwaukee. but I think that a player like Corbyn, it's only a matter of time before he breaks out, you know, and it's the same with Walker. I know Walker didn't have the best series in this series, but like we're past it now, you know, so I have a lot to look forward to in the next series. And I think that, you know, I've been telling Corb, like, these series, especially when,
Starting point is 01:23:13 you know, we got tied, you know, it's like I knew that there was going to be a moment where he stepped up and where he was that guy that he was for us all year. It was only a matter of time. Let's fucking go. He's shirtless. I'm shirtless. We're fucking going to the goddamn world series, Patrick. You think I give a shit right now?
Starting point is 01:23:32 Let's fucking go. Evan Longoria, man. 15 years. He starts his career out with Tampa, a young team similar to this Diamondback squad. Like, ah, we got a couple more of these in the tank. And he's had to wait this long to get back. So yeah, he's, he's going to air it out. He's going to air it out.
Starting point is 01:23:52 Is he not the hero of teams that were basically created in 1998? Pretty much. I don't think we said this. Phillies are the first team to play all the 90s expansion teams in the playoffs. They might have lost all of them. No, they beat the raise, actually. But they did not beat the Arizona Diamondbacks. Yeah, they did not.
Starting point is 01:24:11 Seven games this bad boy went. It's unbelievable. World Series starts Friday. Rest up. Rest up. I'm not ready. I'm not ready for that. But tomorrow tomorrow you're going to.
Starting point is 01:24:23 What do we got for some more super chats there? Of course, Mr. Grimm says, can we pour a splash out for Nick Ahmed? Very true. I'm not allowed to do that. He said, then fill that cut back up for getting rid of Madison. There's a lot of clout. There's a lot of truth to that tweet and I heard that message. And I think the big part of that is that the reason why the Diamondbacks are here was they were not afraid of
Starting point is 01:24:48 shedding players that caused them to not succeed from the roster. And, I mean, in some cases that absolutely cost them lots and lots of money. But true, the results were that this team was able to advance and be good. It'd be interesting because, you know, to hear from these guys at some point, they'll probably give Ahmed a shout out. I don't, I know Ahmed was, you know, much more valuable, I think, to the clubhouse than Madison Bumgarner. But guys like her old are Pardomo kind of waiting in the winter.
Starting point is 01:25:18 rings, they played with these guys for a couple years. So they've passed some of the tricks of the tradeoff. And so, you know, I've many players, it's always surprising to say, hey, when you were coming up, who are the guys that, you know, you learned how to play the game the right way from? And some guys might say Madison Baumgartner, a lot more guys will actually give credit to, I think Nick Ahmed for what he was able to do when so many of these young guys were coming up. So, yeah, if the Diamondbacks end up winning the World Series, Nick Ahmed. Yeah, let's get on.
Starting point is 01:25:45 And Madison Baumgartner is going to get a ring. Let's get no, let's, Madison, I'm gonna fuck you. Nick Ahmed, let's get you a ring. He deserves it. He was with the team for a long time. He does deserve a ring. He absolutely deserves a ring. And on top of that, let's get Greg Schulte a ring.
Starting point is 01:26:00 Ooh. That's number one. Yeah. We retired Russo and Schulte advances to the World Series. So now Schulte deserves a ring. Retired Clay and Kershaw maybe. Yeah. I'm with it.
Starting point is 01:26:10 I'm with it. Can we see Tori giving that pregame speech, by the way, where he just talked about us being fucking dangerous again. Would you? Okay. Well, we got some super chats. Shout out to Kenneth. He says, Philly's fan here. Class. You guys earned it. A class act. Good game to you. Kenneth Butler. Colin DeWitt says, world series, baby. Love you, P.H.NX. We love you. Colin DeWitt for your super chat. And we love you for being a Diamondbacks fan. Double T says Oklahoma D-Backs fan celebrating with my Phoenix family and cousins.
Starting point is 01:26:42 Note national league championship flags are already sold out. Wow. Get your merch. quick. Get them now. Same can be true. They didn't make a lot of them, I guess. All the PH&X shirts too, man. Get them now. Get them in time.
Starting point is 01:26:55 That's the other thing too is you got like 48 hours or so, a little bit more than that. Yeah. 72. Yeah. But get them so that when come back on Monday for game three of the World Series, which the Arizona Diamondbacks are legally participating in. They're allowed to. They are legally allowed to participate in.
Starting point is 01:27:13 I love it. Game three. I love it. Game four is going through Phoenix. It's going through the. Valley get all those shirts all tech zizi says i'm the only person reping ph and x in st louis we'd love you for it all tech z z z zs i and i feel proud that i'm doing that it's such a deep emotional attachment az sports are number one and hell yeah hell yeah that's cool hell yeah hell yeah bro i got
Starting point is 01:27:38 banana bread hell yeah bro i got fucking banana bread at work today and i also got a world serious bit bro Hell yeah. Hell yeah. C.J. La Chappelle says, thank God you beat the Phillies. Luck in the World Series. Good luck in the World Series. Mac Fried is a free agent after the 2024 season. If you are the Braves, do you try to extend them this offseason?
Starting point is 01:28:01 Let's really break down the Atlanta's roster right now. No, fuck them. No, absolutely not. Maybe not. I am not doing that. I don't care about their goddamn roster right now. Air Wilson says rock me mama like a wagon wheel. And I hope that me being here shirtless.
Starting point is 01:28:17 is helping to really deliver that message of the band is one of my favorite bands so i love that song that's beautiful uh Alex from phoenix says corbin carroll was one year hold when the dbacks last one of title let that sink in i'm not ready to let that sink in i mean i i for that i are we ready for my wife when they won the last world are you ready for all the things that were true back in 2000 one so the last time the diner back from the world series bill clinton was the president Stop it. Stop it. Actually, no, he was.
Starting point is 01:28:49 It was George Bush. But I think at the start of the year, he was. You're not good at this. I made a mistake. Already, Gabby Moreno, he was alive, but he wasn't a potty trained. It's not, not, hasn't been confirmed yet. Oh, I feel so old. But you know what?
Starting point is 01:29:04 I feel so old. Jordan Jeffrey Joseph Lawler, full name, didn't exist. Yeah. He didn't exist the last time the Diamondbacks were in the World Series. How about that? And Toro Lavello was only a year from. playing ball in Japan with the occult swallows, retired and was in his first year of coaching down in the minors for Cleveland.
Starting point is 01:29:23 It's so funny because I have a memory of him bringing back his former coach and some of his players he worked with to kind of help him assess this team and also for them to get some, you know, kind of time playing against a major league baseball team. But Tori is just a huge, huge fan of Japanese baseball. And he felt like that was really what prepared him for, all of this that he's doing. And back in 2001, Kurt Schilling did not have a bloody sock yet in his laundry, amongst
Starting point is 01:29:53 other things. Yeah. People are asking where Jesse is. We have no idea. Let's be honest. Jesse's hopefully just absolutely doused in champagne. But do we have Paul Seawald? I do have Paul Seawald on Kevin Ginkle making his job.
Starting point is 01:30:09 Oh, fucking give me that. Inject it directly into my veins. Just on a real, right? Like Kevin Giggle is just absolutely amazing. He has been absolutely unreal all season. And, you know, like I said, just making my light easy with a four to two lead facing the bottom of the lineup when he goes out there and he gets tray and he gets Price and cruises through the next inning. Just, God, he's just so good. And, you know, everybody, just holding on to a two run or a one run lead and then a two run lead for five minutes.
Starting point is 01:30:36 Just an incredible job. That man deserves all the goddamn credit. That man deserves all the fucking credit. Let's be honest. Paul Seawall has brought so much stability. to this team that you can't quantify what his presence, what that trade has done for this team. You also brought up earlier that essentially the game winning hit was off the bat
Starting point is 01:30:58 of Gabriel Moreno. That's a second in the series. And that's another trade that Mike Hazen made at the beginning of the season that brought Gabriel Moreno and Lordus Guerrille to this team. Guerrille had the home run in game six, back-to-back home runs with Tommy Fam. Like there's got to be a point where we start giving. Mike Hazen
Starting point is 01:31:18 all of the flowers for assembling this team in the fashion that he has And it's one of the reasons why As soon as the Boston You know, had a vacancy in their front office Like oh, maybe they can get him back Fucking absolutely went after him You can't you can't do that
Starting point is 01:31:33 You can't always these small market teams You can't always poach those guys Especially because they're home Like Mike Hazen this is now his home And Boston was his former home He's not going back He's built something here He doesn't want to go build something again
Starting point is 01:31:45 maybe it'll be easier for him to build something again with all of that money and clout with the redstocks organization but he's got some clout right now it's different though in the world series with a group of 23 year olds the window of contention is just opened it is very wide it is wide open this team is going to be doing some big things i mean not in in the future sure the future is the next week or the future is this week ernesto says it best too because what he was able to do was amidst a tragedy in his life. And when I say that, I think even when we were listening to that video, I don't remember anymore if we were on camera or off camera.
Starting point is 01:32:27 But you and I both are married. We both discussed how we would absolutely fall apart without our spouse because of how much our spouse means to us. So for what Mike Hazen was able to do with all of these emotions running high, with his boys throwing out the first pitch in this series, and everything that they've done, it's been remarkable that he has been able to continue to be the general manager of this team
Starting point is 01:32:52 and continue to manage at a high level. Like, I don't even think people would be mad at him for not being at the top of his game, but when you talk about the addition of Paul Seawald and how much that's meant what it means here tonight as they advance to the World Series, like this team has just been, incredible and and my casein deserves all of the flowers for assembling it in the manner that he has yeah it's so so impressive again after that 110 loss season you know the previous regime i mean danesby swanson let's not forget about what that trade was like there's not get me started there's been a lot of those that went sideways i have literally nothing to say positive about the previous regime and i've said it time and time again that mike hazen was like that dude that they had like a house party at his house
Starting point is 01:33:44 And they were like, oh, well, we're all leaving now. Your parents are home. And he had to figure out a way to fucking fix everything before his parents figured out what had happened, right? We need a montage of Mike Hayes and cleaning up the house. Yeah, breaking, fixing that broken vase and gluing it back together and putting the couches back together and everything. But I mean, again, that's that's the condition that this team was left.
Starting point is 01:34:05 And not only was there very little on the horizon for the major league team, but the farm system itself was absolutely kind of in shambles. and now here we stand where the Diamondbacks still have a very, very good farm system, and so many of those young players are now contributing to the success of this team. Corby and Carroll, Brandon fought, all of these guys. But I will tell you, this guy knows a lot about baseball. I know a lot about baseball, but nobody knows more about baseball in the Arizona Diamondbacks than this guy joining us right now and is the one and only Jesse Frieden,
Starting point is 01:34:38 aka the Thunderstick, aka my vice mayor. Jesse, I can't tell you enough about how much I miss. you being here tonight for the celebration. At one point, I didn't have a shirt on just seconds ago. I know you went on that. I drank a whole bottle of champagne so I can barely do the ad reads, but let me tell you, what the hell? What the hell, Jesse? You and I covered this team. We started this show after the worst season, arguably second worst season in franchise history. And now we sit here just a short time away from that day. And the Diamondbacks are going to the series yeah i mean where where do i even start right i guess i guess a good place to start is that
Starting point is 01:35:22 madison bumgarner is four wins away from getting a ring uh that feels that feels like a good place to start monster cut them off right now i don't want to talk to miss mid anymore uh no going going back to your question yeah um you know i yeah you and i started this show in in september of 2021 when the diamondbacks were finishing up, you know, one of the worst seasons, nearly the worst season in franchise history with 110 losses, it's not really normal to turn that around into a World Series appearance in a matter of two years. And yet that's what we're talking about.
Starting point is 01:35:58 And it has to do with this baseball team that just continues to defy expectations, continues to, by all accounts, just kind of feed off of their naysayers. That's been a storyline time and time again throughout this postseason is the Diamondbacks being pretty aware that there are some people out there that don't really believe in them, right, that didn't believe they could beat the Brewers, that didn't believe they could beat the Dodgers, certainly, and very much did not believe that they could beat the Philadelphia Phillies,
Starting point is 01:36:29 especially after going down in those first two games in this very ballpark being outscored 15 to 3. The way that this series started was exactly what everyone expected it to be. It was the Philadelphia Phillies, this monstrosity of the baseball team with a killer bullpen with two of the best postseason starters, at least at the time when this series started. Both Zach Wheeler and Aaron Nola were rolling. Ranger Suarez had this crazy one ERA last year, was pitching well to start this postseason as well. And you had Kyle Schorber and Trey Turner and Bryce Harper and heck, Nick Castiano's was hitting at that point, which feels like a long time ago because Nick Castiano's did next to nothing. this series against the Diamondbacks. But, you know, I mean, the way that the Diamondbacks just came in here and, you know,
Starting point is 01:37:17 clearly we're not afraid of the environment. Clearly, we're not afraid of the fans in the stands and, you know, the baseball team and the other dugout at, you know, what, what do you even say at this point? The Diamondbacks are going to the World Series. And, you know, this is one of those, it's one of those situations in sports where it's hard to really capture in words because, I mean, it's freaking remarkable. I mean, the 84 win diamond packs are going. to the World Series game one is on Friday incredible yeah Nick Castellanos I believe after
Starting point is 01:37:47 wearing that number 23 jersey went oh for 23 after that game one home run in the LCS so yes he was really quiet alec bomb kind of woke up a little bit today with his uh solo home run uh put up that ring finger uh Derek is there for anyone watching on the d p hicks sports channel but i promise is tory at all talk because it You know, he just seems to really have the entire series, and each game kind of in front of him. And yeah, they lost the first two. And, you know, they were down three, two at one point.
Starting point is 01:38:23 But it almost seemed as if he had this idea in his head that, you know what? If we were going to win the series, it might be in seven games. We got to be patient at the plate. Even when I think a lot of Diamondbacks fans were saying, you know, get the bat off your shoulder swing, being patient on the base path, even though embracing the chaos was something they did through 162. two games and the first two rounds of the postseason, they weren't doing that. Do you think that Tori had this grand master plan of, you know what?
Starting point is 01:38:48 It maybe needs to be somewhat of a rope-a-dope to slow play this thing. Because if we are going to do it, it's going to take all seven games in getting the best of the Philadelphia Phillies. Yeah, I mean, you know, I don't know if coming into this series, Tori would have been willing to admit, like, yeah, I don't think we can beat him in five. I don't think we can beat him in six. It's probably going to take seven games. But, yeah, I mean, you know, once the, that's the dollar.
Starting point is 01:39:11 Diamondbacks got down 2-0, as I was saying earlier. I mean, in order to win the series, they had to take four out of the next five games, which is exactly what they did remarkably. But, I mean, you know, they got two of those wins back here at Citizens Bank Park, of course. The Diamondbacks just took two of three at home. They came back here to Citizens Bank Park down three to two, which seemed like an insurmountable, an insurmountable hill to climb, right? Like, how do you go into Citizens Bank Park, you know,
Starting point is 01:39:41 a ballpark that arguably gives the Phillies a better home field advantage than anywhere you'll find in baseball, maybe anywhere you'll find in sports. Maybe that's hyperbole. But the fans here are crazy. And except for sort of in these two games, right? Like if the crowd was a 10 in games one and two, which I think it could accurately be described that way, it was maybe like a five yesterday and like a six, seven today, something along those lines. It was a completely different feel. Even though the Phillies bounced back in this game after the Diamondbacks took that early lead. They tied the game. They had a lead in this game. The Diamondbacks really kept them at bay. And I think that might have been the most important moment in this game was when Brandon Fod is on the
Starting point is 01:40:26 mound in the fourth inning and things are not going great. The Phillies have got a couple runs on the board. They've taken a two one lead. And it was a pretty bold move there for Tori Lavello to stick with Brandon Fott, you know, through all of that. There were a couple of hard hit balls there in that inning, but he finds a way to get out of it, right? I think it was second and third at that point with only one out in the inning. Maybe it was first and third with one out in the inning. I think it was first and third.
Starting point is 01:40:53 And Brandon Fott comes out. He strikes out. Nick Castiano's, he puts Brandon Marsh on. He seemed to want nothing to do with Brandon Marsh there in that spot, which is probably reasonable given that Brandon Marsh is a, you know, a very good left-handed hitter, especially when he's facing Ritees. And then he comes back and he gets another strikeout in order to get out of that frame and he and he held it right there right there was there was a possibility in
Starting point is 01:41:16 that inning of this game turning into four to one you know or even three to one at the very least for the Phillies and that didn't happen it kind of kept the crowd from really getting into this the diamondbacks in the fifth inning bounced back take the lead right back and they just held the momentum from that point through the end of this game and they immediately came back and scored those two runs in the top of the fifth do you have you put your finger on the the pulse of of why distance bank park was a like you said a five in game six and only a seven in game seven coincidentally what was the reason for that do you think there was there was just kind of a nervous energy in this ballpark is kind of the way that i would that i would describe it um it was you know
Starting point is 01:41:58 in in the ninth inning it kind of felt like fans got back into it a little bit because they were like heck this might be the end of our season right like we don't like what's happening on the field right now. But we've got, you know, three shots against Paul Seawald and our season is over. We better sort of give it everything we got here in the ninth inning. And it was certainly louder, but, you know, Paul Seawall pitches a clean one, two, three inning. Kevin Ginkle was dominant in the eighth inning, you know, got a couple outs in the seventh as well. That back end duo continues to be extraordinarily good for the diamond backs. And yeah, I mean, it was just sort of nervous energy. It was just, you know, they weren't, they weren't, you know, on their feet every time a hitter got to two strikes.
Starting point is 01:42:39 Just a very different feel of the last couple nights here at Citizens Bank. Brandon Fott obviously was incredible on the mound. He had 16 whiffs, Jesse, uh, tonight, including 10 with his sweeper. Uh, his 22 strikeouts in the postseason now ranks third by Diamondbacks pitcher in the postseason behind Kurt Schilling and Randy Johnson. And his 22 Ks ranked seventh amongst. rookies in the postseason dating back to 1998. So again, I know that Brandon Fott maybe didn't have the night that he had in game
Starting point is 01:43:11 three. The Phillies appeared to be a little bit more patient with him early on, but it didn't take long for those Phillies hitters to get impatient with Brandon Fought and for him to start getting a lot of whiffs, especially on a sweeper. Yeah, it was, you know, as you said, it wasn't as clean of a game, obviously, as it was in game three. I mean, how do you really get a cleaner than how good Brandon Faw was in game three? That was spectacular.
Starting point is 01:43:37 But, you know, you have to adjust your sights a little bit in a playoff game, right? You know, normally a quality start of six innings, three runs. Kind of feels like in a playoff game, four innings two runs is pretty darn good. And I guess technically he did out pitch Ranger Suarez. Swarres pitched into the fifth inning, round of giving up three runs instead of the two that Brandon Fawke gave up. And yeah, I mean, you know, I think putting up a zero in the, And the first inning was especially important. That's something a lot of people talked about in some of the pressers leading into this game
Starting point is 01:44:08 was just the importance of the D-backs getting a run on the board and keeping the Phillies from getting a run on the board, which is what happened in the first inning of this game. Obviously, the Phillies came back. But, yeah, you know, for Brandon fought to come into this environment, he had a couple good outings at home. You hadn't, you know, quite put it together on the road in the playoffs yet. He gave the Diamondbacks a chance to win and paved the way for a bullpen that can. continues to be very good.
Starting point is 01:44:33 It's just incredible, Jesse. At times I don't know whether to be more amazed by the young guys like Brandon fought and Corbyn Carroll being the ones that got it done for this team and have got it done so far. If the way the bullpen has transformed and the way that, I mean, obviously it's not the same guy. So it's the bullpen transforming based on personnel and the personnel that they brought in. But, I mean, Saul Frank wasn't great tonight, but you can't say enough about what Ryan
Starting point is 01:45:00 Thompson, AKA, tea time Kevin ginkle the beast and paul seawald there at the end have done for this team because i mean this just this wasn't uh this wasn't what this team was known for for the majority of the regular season the the bullpen yeah i yeah it's i mean you know ryan thompson's pitched well in the playoffs kevin ginkle hasn't allowed to run uh he has i think he's pitched exactly nine innings in the post season he's given up six hits no runs two walks 13 strikeouts it's hard to ask for more than that from your eighth inning guy paul seawald hasn't given up a run i think he's a perfect six for six something like that and save opportunities at this point you know and that's what a lot of this comes down to right
Starting point is 01:45:45 we talk about it with the playoffs all the time it's who's getting hot at the right time and in this series paul seawald kevin ginkle ryan thompson they were better than than the philly's back end right And that was kind of the big thing with the Phillies coming into the series. Like you got Kimbril, you've got this young kid, Orion Kirkering, who has like 4,000 RPMs on a slider. Yeah. You know, you've got Jeff Hoffman, you know, who's really taken a huge step forward this year. You know, Soto, the list goes on.
Starting point is 01:46:17 Matt Strom, there's so many weapons in that bullpen. But the Diamondbacks got the best of Craig Kimbril, obviously. That was a pretty big part of this series. was what they were able to do against him. And even today, I mean, you saw the debacks get to Jose Alvarado, I think was kind of viewed as being this sort of invincible lefty that no one can hit. And the diamondbacks were able to get to him. Well, the diamondbacks continue to accumulate wins. Damon.
Starting point is 01:46:45 Can we send little Cotel Marte up the mountains while we're going to the fucking world series? This is unbelievable. Jesse, I know, first of all, I know you don't approve of my cursing. That's what we have the cursing jar for. But I just, I mean, final thoughts? What, what like, this is unbelievable. And I just still can't my wrap my mind around the fact that this upstart young team is here doing this. Again, I talked about the youngsters, Corbyn Carroll, Brandon Fott, Gabriel Moreno, two essentially game winning hits in this series. And you can't say it. about that trade can't say enough about what mike hazen did to form this team into what it is right now at this point that it is loud i just i mean what what what do you think about where
Starting point is 01:47:41 what the diamond backs were able to do up to this point i yeah i feel like i should probably give a shout out to catel martay of course oh yeah absolutely of of the nLCS i'm sure you guys touched on it right uh 16 16 consecutive games with a hit to start his postseason career the longest in major league history that's a pretty impressive accomplishment and yeah i mean uh could tell us at what like 370 i think it is in in this postseason something along those lines you know really good numbers in in this series as well and and he's a guy that i think a lot of people might not know about right could tell martay what he wasn't an all-star this year arguably arguably should have been uh you know not a guy that that people are all that familiar with he had a down season last year
Starting point is 01:48:25 but he really did carry the Diamondbacks offense. And then, of course, you know, Corbyn Carroll and Gabrielle Moreno, you know, wreaking havoc in this game as well. Carroll going, you know, having three hits in this game, a sacrifice, fly, scoring a couple runs, you know, driving in a run, stealing multiple bases. It was sort of a typical Corbyn Carroll game. And that's something we haven't really seen in that series. He really got back to that in this game today. And, you know, as you said, Gabby Moreno and that three whole. just continues to be really good for the Diamondbacks.
Starting point is 01:48:58 I mean, D-backs, this catcher who is hitting eighth at the start of the year, you know, sort of crept toward the top of the lineup a little bit as the season progress, moved to the five spot at the beginning of the playoffs. Now he's up to the three spot. He's just continued to rise to the occasion. And, you know, for everything that Tori Lavello has asked with him, he's pretty darn good defensively, too. I mean, he's obviously a very, very special player at the age of 20.
Starting point is 01:49:25 and you know for him and corbin him and corbin yeah yeah of course that's the comp that everyone everyone wants to make and you know i i can certainly understand where people you could make a case that gabby merino's a better hitter today than you know yaddi or melina was at least throughout the vast majority of his career so injected in my veins yeah ejected at my veins uh jessey we're sending you to texas uh hopefully he'll be able to stop by like pecan lodge in dallas to get some good barbecue. There's no idea what that is. I have, I've been to a lot of places in my life. I drove through Amarillo for about five minutes on my way somewhere else and have otherwise not been in Texas at all in my life. So this is a new experience. We're going to get you all
Starting point is 01:50:10 sorts of stuff. Arlington, the ballpark gets terrible, but it doesn't matter. We'll get you out there. Patrick's going to continue to sleep in your bed and eat your food. I hope you're okay with that. but it's just it's the reality that we're all facing at this point i talked to your brother already and i told him i was like sorry but you you've lost your brother but you have gained a patrick so i think he's okay with that he might like patrick more than you and i mean i don't know how you feel about that but we're kind of okay with it yeah i don't know if i feel good about that i think uh i don't know he's kind of sick of me at this point you know uh makes a lot sense he's known me for a long time he loves patrick's funny by the way The puns are great, by the way.
Starting point is 01:50:50 Yeah, Patrick just makes more good jokes than I do. He does. He does. Yeah, I don't know how that's going to end for me. But yeah, Patrick, if you were hoping, you were hoping to get, if you were hoping to get, if you were hoping to get back to Denver anytime soon, Patrick, you know, I, I hope, I hope your family does like. I'm living in Arizona.
Starting point is 01:51:06 I'm going back, but I'm coming back as well. My daughter texted me tonight to ask if I was going to still be able to take her trick or treating on Halloween. She's 12 and it's that time that she's learned that ain't happened no more. So you're on your own kid because I got to cover a World Series. But Jesse, you're also on your own. Get your shit together and get down to Texas. We need your reporting from there.
Starting point is 01:51:27 We love you. We can't wait to officially see you reporting from the World Series. What? What? Jesse. I don't know about you guys. When I made the trip to Milwaukee when this whole thing started, I wasn't expecting to, you know, sleep in my own bed for more than two consecutive nights for a month.
Starting point is 01:51:47 So I know. I was fully prepared. I don't know where you guys were. I appreciate that. I appreciate that preparation. Baxter apparently is in the chat. I know that's not the real Baxter, but Jesse, we'll talk to you very shortly, wherever you're at.
Starting point is 01:52:01 I don't know what the hell there's said to you or how you're getting there. I have no promises if you're even going to make it safely, but make sure you drink plenty of water. You know, that's a big thing that I'm so fucking. The cool thing is, is that Jesse has so many Greyhound points now. It's absurd. His ride to Arlington is actually free. The bus driver is going to be like, Jesse?
Starting point is 01:52:20 You know, yeah, I get it. All right, buddy. We'll see you soon. All right. See you guys. I want to get out of here. We've been almost going for two hours and I get it. I have a couple of things I need to say real quick.
Starting point is 01:52:31 I need Jamie to get. We need like, this is like Jerry Springer's final thoughts, but with Damon. Do you remember when Gabriel Moreno and Carson Kelly were splitting time? Wow. In a catching platoon. Not really. I don't want to remember. Carson Kelly for a while.
Starting point is 01:52:45 Yeah. Another guy. Four goes away. from a ring. And then on top of that, do you remember when Ketel Marte was not voted a NL All-Star? Don't even give me. Yeah, the best player in the National League? Hmm, that's interesting.
Starting point is 01:52:57 NLCS MVP. Let me ask you a question. Do you remember when Tori Lavallo gave a speech that said he was a that's gone? Dangerous team is a connected team is a dangerous team. Let's play that video. Are you fucking kidding me? This is part of the journey. We're not there yet.
Starting point is 01:53:16 Let's enjoy it. Let's embrace it. let's fucking party and a connected team is a fucking dangerous team we are fucking dangerous let's fucking party wow i drank this entire champagne for you guys tonight because a connected a connected team is a fucking dangerous team so you're a company man get the shirt of a dangerous team why haven't you already gotten that shirt go get yourself this shirt from the ph and x locker dot com of course if you are a die hard member you get 20% off all future purchases if you are not a diehard member sign up today and you

Starting point is 01:54:25 Hey, let's, I want to clean up the notes a little bit. So yes, Cetell Marte, NLCS, MVP, 3-87, 12 for 31, four doubles, triple, two runs scored, three RBI. Second player in Debex history, win the award. The other Milwaukee Brewers manager, Craig Counsel, back in 2001, because he was on the Diamondbacks then. Still love him. Diamondbacks become the seventh team in MLB history
Starting point is 01:54:47 to lose both games one and two on the road in the best of seven series and battle back. to win that series. Wow, their 9 and 3 this postseason in 12 games. Six of their nine postseason wins have come on the road. They stole four bases tonight matching their all-time postseason high from last night in game two of the NLDS. When Arizona records at least one stolen bases postseason,
Starting point is 01:55:09 they're now 6-0. So when they don't steal a base, they're 500 team. When they do steal, they are 6-0. And you said, Corby-Carroll tied with a couple people with two stolen bases tonight for a winner-take-all, postseason game. Number one, the guy who had more than that, who had three steals in a game seven. Oh, only Hall of Famer Lou Brock. Wow. That's a, that's a pretty famous, famous name to be compared to. Shout out, by the way, to our Comrade BM. Comrade BM says,
Starting point is 01:55:39 fun fact, I was three in 2001. Another fun fact. My grandfather went to the first world series night game ever. Let's go. Love it. Wow. This world series means so much to so many of us, but it means very much to Danielle Cortez, who's over here. She's trying not to join us on set. Get your ass over here. Danielle deserves her props because she was the only one that predicted. Patrick was on this show, I believe, actually, by the way. It was Patrick.
Starting point is 01:56:05 February. It was Danielle. It was. Yep, Vince. And Daniel was the only person who said that the debacks were going to the playoffs. I'm just saying, I look dead into the camera. You did. Oh, we got to move this.
Starting point is 01:56:16 Hang on. I was there. Sorry, Derek. I'm screwing everything up here. You said it in February. I looked dead in the camera. camera, Dvex are going to the playoffs. Dbacks are going to the world series, baby. We're going to the world series.
Starting point is 01:56:27 Yeah. Love it. Thank you. Congratulations, Daniel. And again, we've talked about all of the people we've lost and all the people watching over this team this year, obviously. Uh, shut out the shot. I'm not going to make you cry again. I'm going to cry again. Derek's cried like three times on this show. I've cried like three times on this show. He's popped his top off a couple times already as well.
Starting point is 01:56:47 I was shirtless earlier. This show has completely gone off the rails. Can we get some more. or super chats up there. I want to get out to all of those. Thank you to Jeff. He says in typical AZ fashion, every mainstream media outlet counts us out and we show out. Need to bust out the purple and teal for the world series. Fuck yeah, Jeff.
Starting point is 01:57:03 I love that idea. Zach Allen likes that too. Iron Lung says Phillies fans are trash for bumping their gums with not much to show for it. Ruding for the snakes now. And I got to say thank you guys. Go Braves. That is a Braves fan. And I get it.
Starting point is 01:57:16 You guys, you guys have a whole other thing going on. I will say Phillies fans did. keep a lot of trash upon us but also respectful and i appreciated them for that and uh good game to the philly's fans uh joe says off season priorities signed gabby fought thomas long turn deals i agree agree with that completely uh and last christopher says this is what philly gets for wasting seats at chase go home sad and cry into a cheese steak and i can't disagree with that wow that's a good take How far is the drive to Arlington from here?
Starting point is 01:57:50 I wonder how many fans would be able to go to all seven or maybe even drive out? I don't know. I'll say five. Your flight to Dallas might be a little bit better of an option there, but you guys do what you need to do is what I'm saying. That's true. You know what I'm saying. But I will say, though, you're not wrong.
Starting point is 01:58:07 A great way to get there is to drive there and to stop at Circle K and fill up on your way. Well, that's kind of wise because the service on planes is just not great. It's not great. My Circle K points don't care. over on that at all. You can't get a free app to get you free stuff. The chip's not as good on a plane. Circle K is a way to go. If you do, if you do go to Circle K, of course, America's third stop. You can get down on their brand new Inner Circle program, which is a free membership program that gets you all sorts of benefits, including
Starting point is 01:58:36 25 cents off per gallon on your first five Phillips. You get by five, get six free on a selection of Circle K products, including, by the way, pizza. coffee, ice cold fountain drinks, and so much more. Wow. They also send you all sorts of free little things in the app, candy, chips, all sorts of stuff. And the 25 cents off per gallon for your first five Phillips. Critical,
Starting point is 01:58:59 critical in this day and age of gas being so expensive. So join the Inner Circle for free by downloading the CircleK app today. Terms and conditions do apply at participating locations. Visit CircleK.com for details. Yeah, sign up for that because it's actually a thousand miles. I was off by a lot. We're off by a little bit. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:59:17 It takes like a whole day just to get from here to Albuquerque. New Mexico's big. Texas. Yeah. Also pretty big. It's also another Bunny City, Albuquerque, by the way, which we aren't. We're keeping on task about that. But of course, we thank each and every one of you for joining us in the chat tonight.
Starting point is 01:59:33 We thank you guys. We thank you guys so much for your super chats. And most importantly, we thank you for sticking by this wagon when staying on this wagon throughout the entire season and throughout the postseason and arriving to this destination, which is the World Series in Texas. Of course we knew that this was how this was going to go. That's why we called it a wagon this whole time.
Starting point is 01:59:55 Don't you see it? We fucking knew. We had the script the whole time. But we appreciate you guys so much for joining us. Of course, you can follow us on Twitter. I am at cap underscore caveman with a K. This maniac next to me that I appreciate so much. I cannot say enough.
Starting point is 02:00:11 about how thankful I am to have you here discussing baseball with me, being my friend. And most importantly, covering for Jesse's ass, while he just goes around the country and gets to be the reporter on the road. Drinking champagne. He was not nearly wet enough. All of you guys were right. He was dry as a bone. We didn't even address that.
Starting point is 02:00:32 But I thank you so much. And I look forward to you explaining to your wife that you have to come back and do this with me some more during the World Series. Yeah, ever call me. I'll continue to ignore our phone calls, but maybe. You got to see this thing through. You know what I mean? The job ain't done.
Starting point is 02:00:47 All city families got to stick together. God damn it. But of course, you can follow him at Patrick D. Lyons. We are all Damon's dogs, though. And he is the people's producer. You can follow Damon Dogg at Damon Dogg. We are Damon's dogs. Wolf fucker.
Starting point is 02:01:04 Of course. Let's go. Yeah, you can. I just need to throw that out there again. I hate that guy so much. And a piece of Yoshi said two and a half months ago, this podcast was in peril talking about Pokemon to cope. Look at us now. Who would have thought it?
Starting point is 02:01:20 Not me. Of course, our show is at PHNX underscore Dbacks, but all roads do lead to at PHNX underscore sports on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. We thank you again for being part of this wagon. And this wagon continues to roll into the World Series. and I am kind of speechless about that. So we thank you for your time. We appreciate you guys for being Diamondbacks fans and remember kids.
Starting point is 02:01:47 Baseball is fun, but by God, it is so much more fun when you go to the World Series.
