Starting point is 00:00:04 Welcome in to another edition of the pregame show right here on PHMX for the Arizona Diamondbacks who are in the World Series. It still doesn't sound right. Wow. We are getting ready to watch Game 3 of the World Series here with Brandon Fought on Mound for the Snakes. Of course, I am Derek Montia, occasionally known as your mayor of PHNX. This man next to me is known in a lot of circumstances. as Patty Plantain. He's also known as my hot tag partner, the one and only Patrick Lines from DNVR. Appreciate you being here, sir. Don't know when we're sending you back home. But for the meantime,
Starting point is 00:00:46 I do appreciate you taking care of Jesse's brother while he was gone and watering, you know, him and taking him out for walks. Thankfully, this isn't a true world series because the Diamondbacks are have only cut through the United States and some of Canada as well. If it was a true world series, no, I would have just called it at some point. Yeah, we're here for a few more days. Maybe only like two or three more. Maybe. Can the Dynamics do it at home?
Starting point is 00:01:10 I don't know. I don't know. But we appreciate you guys being here. Of course, this very show is brought to you by our friends at the Desert Financial Credit Union, Arizona's number one credit union named by Forbes. And of course, go get yourself a diehard membership if you haven't done so already. Get yourself that t-shirt. Get yourself 20% off all future purchases at the PHNX locker. The vibes are great when you have those shirts.
Starting point is 00:01:30 But of course, the vibes are really good. at Chase Field right now. Wow. We were down there. Even outside of. Even outside. I didn't go in. Especially outside. Outside.
Starting point is 00:01:40 It was fantastic. There was all sorts. I mean, it's just incredible to see, you know, our stadium like that. And I say that because I spent a lot of time in that building. And to see that atmosphere, it is, you can feel the energy in the air, right? I mean, I've only felt it a couple of times. One was in the presence of the rock at WrestleMania. And that was definitely electric, right?
Starting point is 00:02:03 Yeah, you can definitely feel it. There were more Diamondbacks fans and Diamondbacks fans jerseys, I think, than I've ever seen at like any game. I mean, I used to go to games at Yankee Stadium in the late 90s, and like you almost wouldn't be caught dead wearing the other team. That's what this was like, where it was literally, I'd want to try to find a Rangers jersey, and you couldn't. You had to walk around for a couple of minutes just to find one.
Starting point is 00:02:28 So it's not even like 99% D-Bax fans right now. It's 99.5%. I like that you add that extra 0.5% on there. It's very appropriate. Now, you were keeping track of the jerseys. I know you were. Oh, my God. He was like a Pokemon hunter out there.
Starting point is 00:02:44 He was going to collect them all is what he was doing. I was. It's cool. And I'll like to see the new jerseys that are out there. And, you know, the Corbyn Carrels. He had the most. I saw a couple Moreno, not a ton, a few Marte. But it's the, it's the old ones that people had like a Craig
Starting point is 00:03:01 council that just had a monotone purple number and letters on the back like you can tell it's from like the 90s Zach Granky of course Madison Bumgarner very much a choice a lot very much a choice you know why that is is because especially in our
Starting point is 00:03:17 our very own Damon dog would talk to we got Leah by the way who we very much missed Leah on the mic we got Leah about Is it Leah Kat? Is it Leah Kat? I don't think so I don't like that if it's a it's a demon dog thing I am a wild cat, to be fair.
Starting point is 00:03:33 This is what I'm saying. Yam, meow, Leah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't like that.
Starting point is 00:03:38 I don't like that. Kitty, kitty perper. No, no, no, we can move on. All right.
Starting point is 00:03:42 I tried doing a thing. Here's, you know, of course, he's been trying to get himself a Corby and Carol Serpientish jersey for quite a while over at the team shop. Sold out often,
Starting point is 00:03:52 sold out often. Plenty Madison bumgarner's available. It's available. It's a Serpientis. Maybe. Justin Uptis. It was at number 28 Seth beer. That looked amazing.
Starting point is 00:04:02 A couple mark graces. I did see someone wearing a Pavin Smith number 26, which is awesome. Playoff Pavan, in effect. There was a Daniel Descalso. That's a real fan. That's a real thing. Blake Swihard? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:18 What? I don't even remember him as a deback, to be honest. That was very short. A lot of people you didn't recognize because I think they were personalized jerseys, but you still kept coming up and asking people. Yeah, well, I was like Martinez. There's been Martinez. There's a lot of Martinez.
Starting point is 00:04:29 There was an Umberto Castiano's. Let's go. Yeah. Like these are absolutely amazing. Humberto himself, I imagine. And maybe actually Mark Reynolds. Yeah. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:04:40 It could have been him. Tickets are not cheap right now to get in the building. I know we had a couple of people talking to us about trying to get inside. Completely understandable. They're lower. And game time definitely has lowered the prices, which is nice. Like $450. It's one of those situations that I've noticed that if you do wait, if you, if you do wait,
Starting point is 00:04:58 if you do wait a little bit, especially if you don't mind if you don't go. A lot of our guys, our guys, CWP is down there just enjoying the vibes. He doesn't have a ticket, but it's not a bad place to be. No, it's not. It's really not. There's especially the restaurants
Starting point is 00:05:14 down there are all packed. There's a horse. There's a horse. An actual horse. We don't know why he was there. Their mascot is a horse. His name's captain. I know that from the Well, I know things about mascots. Well, you must have gone to Baxter's birthday party. I was. I was a VIP at Baxter birthday party. That's that's a whole other story. But of course,
Starting point is 00:05:34 and there was. And we got, we got some good vibes, uh, videos. So check out our account over at PHNX underscore DVax. Also, we got a lot, we got to meet a lot of you guys. You guys made my afternoon. I was telling Patrick on the way back here that, uh, I follow you. I follow you. Get a lot of that. Never gets old, never gets old. Especially hearing it from the family of someone like Brandon Fott, who, uh, has an incredible family. incredible teammates. They're all here today to root on Brandon Fott. We'll be talking about him shortly because I need to talk about the food first.
Starting point is 00:06:05 There's all sorts of crazy specialty food items in Chase Field. If you're going, if you're there, if you're listening to this and you're at Chase Field, there's a million millionaire steak sandwich. There are Cajun shrimp fries. The ingredients are almost kind of more impressive than the actual. Hank potatoes, Cajun Gulf Shrimp, garlic cheese sauce, lemon aoli, oven dried tomatoes and scallions. Lemon aoli is the thing.
Starting point is 00:06:31 And then on the Millionaire steak sandwich, black truffle cheese sauce. I don't know what that is, but these words just make you think of good food. I feel like... It could be poison, actually. I feel like our friend chef Steve Tilder over there has gotten a lot of
Starting point is 00:06:45 extra money maybe from this playoff run to kind of go crazy with. There are tenderloin steak nachos. There is a pork belly, bond me, dog. Get out of my way. I am going back right now to eat one. Pickled carrots. First off, so there's Gorgonzola cheese sauce on the tenderline steak nachos.
Starting point is 00:07:03 What's Borson? I've never heard of that cheese. B-O-U-R-S-I-N. You know the little, like, it comes in a little foil wrapped. It's like a little circle and it's wrapped in foil. Come on. Yeah, she gets it. Those are baby bells.
Starting point is 00:07:18 No, no, no, no. They're bigger than that. No. They're like the size of your fist. He doesn't understand good cheese. Liam Miaorel is she knows so much. per per. We're keeping it.
Starting point is 00:07:30 We're keeping it. We're going. It's a bit. Oh, that's terrible. I can't stop that from happening. But you also can't stop the good vibes because like you said, man, I mean, there's been a lot of talk about obviously, oh, tickets are cheap and their fans don't show up. Yeah, we're trying to find a cheap ticket now.
Starting point is 00:07:47 And the fans do show up because we saw a very small smattering of Rangers fans. And for the most part, the Diamondbacks had some very good fan presence for this world series. And they also have some good vibes rolling for them as well because Tommy Fam had a chance to make World Series history. And instead of doing so, we found out after he was criticized or not really criticized. I guess you could say Tori Lavello was criticized for pulling Tommy Fam from the game so that Jace Peterson could have an at bat. It was revealed that Tommy Fam indeed made that choice himself so that his dog, Jace, could have an at bat and he even responded on instagram with that and it kind of blew up the
Starting point is 00:08:31 baseball world a little bit because it was one of those moments where everybody that likes to pop off jokes real quick and pop off you know criticisms and judgment uh which we've very been known to do very much so on this show uh you know had to take a step back because yeah sometimes it's bigger than what you think it is sometimes it's not some bonehead move by tori lovolo to try to get everybody in or some move to try to steal this moment away from Tommy Fam. It was in fact, fam himself giving up the chance at history. So that his dog,
Starting point is 00:09:09 Jace, which I will never, I will never not call him my dog chase, uh, gets that at that. Daniel Cortez and I discussed this earlier today on the DNVR Rockies podcast about toy Lavello talking about this being a connected team and a dangerous team. And this is part of that connection,
Starting point is 00:09:25 you know, We say, oh, man, Tommy Pham, that's his boy, Jace Peterson. These guys came from opposite sides of the country, like for the last three months. It's one thing for Tommy Pham to have a good connection with some of the young guys like an Alec Thomas or Corbyn Carroll because, frankly, those guys are part of the fabric of the clubhouse. They are diamondbacks. But when Jace Peterson comes over at the trade deadline from the Oakland days and Tommy Pham comes over from the New York Mets, it's like, hey, look, we're clearly only going to be here for a very short amount of time. together and yet for Tommy to have that connection with Chase and to kind of pass the baton and that baton is not even just a baton it's like no it's it's a golden magical baton and i want you
Starting point is 00:10:06 to hold it i want you to be a part of it it would be as if darrell strawberry after having hit eight home runs in the springfield softball tournament turned to mr burns and said you know what i want homer to bat for me and that's not what happened mr burns told darrell strawberry step to the side homer is going to hit yeah yeah yeah Jason is Homer Simpson. Tommy Fam is Darry Strawberry. I got, I, I, yeah, no, it all makes so much sense. Right? It's the best possible metaphor anybody could have made for the situation.
Starting point is 00:10:34 You look, you have the graphic design abilities to just make that the thing. Yeah, yeah, we'll figure it out. Yeah, yeah. We'll figure that. It's so cool again. It's just a connected team. And Tommy Fam, a guy who, you know, has had some, some issues a little bit in different clubhouses is not having an issue. He's comfortable in this clubhouse. The guys accept him. And again, so much of that goes down to Toro Lavello. And I think because he likes these grinders, Tori even says, he even says, about Tommy fam, you know, post game that, quote, there's no nonsense about his workday.
Starting point is 00:11:01 He's a great teammate and unbelievable teammate. And I know we got better because of all the things he brings to the table that don't get seen in a box score. It's nice for those four hits today, of course. It's said a great tone for us, but he's a very intense competitor with zero room for nonsense. And I think that personifies who we are when we get between the white lines at 705 every night. Let's go. So he's connecting all of these players with one another and getting the best out of them. And it's the reason why an 84 win team who barely got into the postseason is still alive, is still the last standing in the National League and one of only two standing in all of Major League Baseball. And in just a few days, they might even be able to lift the Commissioner's
Starting point is 00:11:42 trophy and say, we are the best team in the 2023 season. I just got some chills. I just got some chills with you, thank you. Let's turn the heat up. Let's get the heat up in here because that's exciting. and Tori has received a ton of criticism throughout his entire tenure about pulling guys when they're hot, not playing guys, resting guys, you know, things like that. And I mean, he's received it during this postseason run in regards to Merrill Kelly being pulled at 89 pitches. He's received it about Brandon Fott being pulled after 18 batters. He has a game plan. Yeah. And it's time for people to stop questioning why he's doing stuff and criticizing him when it comes to these things.
Starting point is 00:12:22 that's never going to stop because you're a manager and that's that's what happens the decisions come down to you as the person in charge so when decisions come around that people don't like you know it's it's understandable that you're going to hear you know some some talk about it but realistically especially like merrill kelly for instance that had a purpose you know this team's thinking about the long play and the long play here is is that this world series could go seven games and they need to make sure that every all all all hands are on deck and everybody is ready to go fully rested as much as they possibly can be. And especially in a game when they were up as much as they were,
Starting point is 00:12:57 I don't think anybody should be concerned about people getting taken out. But Glad Fam could provide that clarification. And also let's give it up for Tommy Fan being an incredible teammate. That's awesome. That's so good. You know what I mean? Tommy Fam is an incredible teammate. He has been,
Starting point is 00:13:12 there have been nothing but positive things said about him in the clubhouse. And I've even heard from other people like somebody the other day was telling me like, wait till he's here for a couple of years or wait till he's here wait till he after he leaves and the things he says about your organization after he leaves i don't know i mean sometimes people are just a good fit and to be honest the experience that fam and longoria bring to the rest of this very very young team is is so important you know it's so important it's so critical for them to have somebody that they're comfortable with that can give them advice that they that they trust that they believe in and that they uh can look to when they when they do need something when they do need words of encouragement or wisdom or Tommy fam just telling people that they ain't shit and having everybody stay loose because you have somebody like that in the clubhouse that's that's that's keeping things light and making fun and and you know trash talking his teammates in a way that also helps them rocks you know it's it's important for this game and it's important for a young team
Starting point is 00:14:12 I think any I think anyone that listens to the show knows how valuable and how important Toy Lovella has been to this but I think the nation is starting to realize like okay it's these 23 year old kids stepping up and they've got a bright future. And I think they're also realizing about Toyo Lavello, like, what a great manager. He's going up against Bruce Bochy, a Hall of Fame manager who just hasn't been in
Starting point is 00:14:32 the Hall of Fame, but he hasn't been retired long enough. Same thing with Dustin Baker. And yet, I kind of have more confidence that Lavello will push more of the right buttons than Bruce Bochy and get more out of his team. So I'm so happy for Tori in this moment
Starting point is 00:14:48 and FAM and Jason and all that. and the connections the Diamondbacks have right now. Well, and one of those young kids is the man on the mound tonight, and that is none other than Brandon Fott. We had a chance. I forget the chance. We had the pleasure of meeting Brandon Fott's family, his friends, his teammates tonight outside of Chase Field.
Starting point is 00:15:05 His entourage. His entourage. His mom, who I absolutely adore after meeting his mom. She's sweet. She absolutely will not be doing any more interviews prior to Brandon Fott appearing because she feels like when she is interviewed that it causes him to have. a bad night. So we have no video
Starting point is 00:15:22 of her, but we do have lots of video coming of all the other teammates and his cousin, who was especially cool. He definitely helped introduce us to the rest of the family. One of his old coaches, Mike was out there as well. 20 of his teammates. Just so much support to see this
Starting point is 00:15:38 young man on the mound and it's incredible. I can't wait to see what he does because one of the things I had to ask everybody is, how is he so calm? His interview last night was incredible. Like I said, it was there was one point where it was just Brandon Fott stand-up comedian Riffin for like three minutes.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Just cutting gags, teaching people how to say Louisville. Louisville. Louisville. I go Louis more, but Louie is close. That's just how they say in the South. Louisville.
Starting point is 00:16:08 In Colorado, it's pronounced Louisville, which is really wrong. He calls it Louisville. I call it Louisville. That's the way it works. But Fott has been amazing tonight. Can he keep it up?
Starting point is 00:16:17 Can he maintain this level of success that he's had in this postseason run, which honestly it kind of surpasses what he even did during the regular season. Yeah, 2.70 this postseason is ERA, but even better when you throw out that Brewer start, it's under like 1-5. And in fact, his strikeouts to walk ratio
Starting point is 00:16:33 is a little bit over 7. So for every one walk is 7 strikeouts that's actually the highest for a rookie of all time. Again, we'll see what happens in his performance tonight because that could change, but it's better than Walker Bueller in 2018. Remember what he was able to do for the Dodgers? How about K.Rott, Francisco, Roder,
Starting point is 00:16:50 is in 2002 as a reliever. So he almost had a little bit of an advantage. The fact that Fott's been able to do this as a starter is great. In the matchup tonight, you know, some of the Rangers have played pretty well against him in that one start. Josh Young, two homers and three RBI, Jonah Heim and Lioti Tiberas also have a homer against Fott and a key change in the lineup for the Rangers. Carter has been dropped to fourth.
Starting point is 00:17:15 And so now that means Seeger and Garcia are back to. back, that will be very interesting to see how that plays out. That's a lot to deal with. The experience difference here couldn't be more significant between Brandon Fott and Max Scherzer. We have our pitcher comparison graphic.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Would you like to see postseason stats? Let's do the postseason stats. Yeah, I don't need to see those regular season stats. Those don't matter anymore. This is what the postseason looks like. And of course, what we have here, Advantage Brandon fought 2.70 ERA to Max Scherzer's
Starting point is 00:17:49 9.45, a whip of 1.08 for Brandon fought and a 1.80 for Scher, 22 strikeouts for fought, only six for Max Scherzer. And I think the great comparison here is that Scherzer, in a lot of Diamondbacks fans' minds, is the one that got away. Right? Like there was Max Scherzer, there's, you know, Paul Goldschmidt, there's a couple of guys in our franchise's history that we felt like damn it we screwed up we shouldn't have done that and that's not to say that the sherser trade didn't have you know a lot of things that happened in regards to how that went down right but it's just a very interesting dynamic here do you have essentially our our pitching future on the mound tonight in this game versus kind of the ghost of our pitching past mad max 2.0
Starting point is 00:18:42 I mean you might even might even argue too in this case yeah shirzer I think we talked about it briefly in the post-game show on Saturday night, the fact that his last two starts have been almost like rehab starts, which I don't want to say like, oh, so now all of a sudden since he's done rehabbing, that he's going to be so much better. I don't know about that. He's just still ramping up from having time off.
Starting point is 00:19:02 He was okay when he went over to Texas. In fact, his last quality start has been since September 1st. So, I mean, he has struggled just a little bit. You know, he's been more like M-M-M-Max than M-Max. So he could be on somewhat of a short leash. Now, now the Rangers do have. a bunch of, you know, starters in their bullpen. So Dane Dunning, I'm sure, is going to be at the ready.
Starting point is 00:19:24 John Gray was announced as a starter in game four. He's a starter, but he just came off the injured list himself. So I'm not exactly sure. There was a flyover. Oh, that was the flyover. We just hit me a flyover. Everyone of the chats blowing up. We got the flyover on the office.
Starting point is 00:19:42 So we got the flyover. Yeah, we got the flyover. The flyover just happened on the pregame show here. apparently just getting booed out the building. Good. Good. That's awesome to hear. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Again, Diamondbacks fans realizing like, hey, wait a minute, we're a force. We're a part of the wagon too. We are. You're all part of the wagon. 9. 16 and 9 at Chase Field. Fourth best record for any team in any ballpark. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Let's go. Let's feel that advantage tonight. It can be a fortress. It can be a vault. Well, but the vault's open. The vault is open tonight. The vault is open tonight. Roof is open tonight.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Yeah, it is. Yeah. expected to be open for tomorrow as well. We'll see what happens. I guess probably first pitch is going to be happening here in just a little bit. Very soon. Luis Gonzalez and Randy Johnson in the press release it said these guys are reunited from 2001. But I have the feeling they've been reunited.
Starting point is 00:20:31 They've got them together a million times. Yeah, that's not the first time they've seen each other. Is it still reuniting if I guess technically. I saw him high five like three weeks ago. I don't know what you're talking about. Jordan Sparks sing the national anthem. That's cool. Phoenix name.
Starting point is 00:20:45 There's a lot of Arizona good vibes. A lot of good vibes in that building right now. Very cool. But it sounds like what you're telling me is that this team being connected goes beyond just the team itself. Oh. Right? Connected. Connected.
Starting point is 00:20:58 Connected. The city's connected. We're all connected. And you know what happens when we're connected? We're fucking dangerous. So get yourself the shirt of a dangerous team over at the P.HNX Locker.com. You can also get yourself a diehard membership. You get that shirt for free.
Starting point is 00:21:11 You also get all future purchases 20% off. If you can't decide on which shirt to get that one for free, get another one for 20% off maybe buy some Christmas gifts now. I don't know what you're looking to do. But anyway, do that. Of course, we thank you guys for being here on the PHNX Sports YouTube channel. And of course, make sure if you're listening on the audio podcasting side to leave us a review, we always appreciate those five-star reviews and make sure you subscribe there as well.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Well, we wonder if this Diamondbacks offense that we saw get very hot in game two can stay hot and can they keep marching up that mountain. Let's go. Can Catell keep it hot? Could Cotel get that streak? Can Cotel get this 15 games? 20 games? 21 games? Who knows?
Starting point is 00:22:01 I don't know because this isn't the offense that we came to know and love from this team. This offense staying consistently hot was not a strength of theirs during the regular season. And meanwhile, the Rangers still kind of feel like a bit of a sleeping giant when it comes to the way that the Diamondbacks were able to kind of hold them. I almost want to say in both games. Like it's like they broke out. It's like it's like the bending but not break. And then they broke there at the end. And they tried to bend but not break throughout the game.
Starting point is 00:22:29 But that was a completely different story in game two because it didn't seem like Merrill Kelly struggled very much to keep this Rangers offense quiet. No. Yeah. That'll be the key tonight because you know how potent those bats can be with just one swing. They had a lot of all-stars, you know, a lot of offensive players that were all-stars this year in Seattle. So they definitely have that capability. As far as the Diamondbacks, the offense clicking, the Stolen Base, the chaos is clicking as well right now, too. I've got to create that chaos.
Starting point is 00:22:58 With all the stolen bases that they finally started to see in game six and seven against Philly. They've got 21 stolen bases so far this postseason. second most all time behind only Evan Longoria's other team, 2008 Tampa Bay Rays. How far behind them are they? Only three. Three to tie, four to go ahead. So that absolutely could happen tonight. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Tori gave all of it. That's got to be something that they've been setting a lot of records, especially when it comes to the young guys setting records for home runs and hits and all that. We know Corbyn Carroll's made history a few times, but that one seems important to me. Not only like, do I want it just as a selfish person, I also think that that's their key to victory as well as making sure that they keep stealing those bases. And talking about stolen bases, one thing I noticed that Tori does a lot is when he gets asked about someone in particular,
Starting point is 00:23:45 I'll say, thank you for bringing this person up because I want to talk about this person, but I'm not just going to shoehorn something in. And he does that about his coaching staff a lot because he has a lot of kind things to say about Jeff Bannister, Brent Strom, and Jeff Mather. And of course, you know, he doesn't get the opportunity. Yeah, he said that exactly about first base coach Dave McKay, basically when it comes to the stolen base is that when it comes to his stolen base record, you know, it makes my life so easy because all I have to do is put the red light or green light on. And that's really the signs I'm giving. There's some nonverbal communication between he and I and he takes it from there.
Starting point is 00:24:19 And so anytime you see Dave McKay whisper, I don't know that I see too many first base coaches. Is it raising eyebrows? Like, what's nonverbal communication? Is it just like a mental telepathy kind of situation? It's definitely a mind meld. It could be a total mind meld. Oh, that explains so much. But Dave gets in the ear of those guys on first base. and he's like a he's a soothsayer, man. He just, he sues those guys with the words that he says in a literal sense. And man, they're able to take off and get that extra base. And that could be vital tonight in a game in which we know Scherzer can shut things down.
Starting point is 00:24:51 And we've already seen Brandon fought to it. So this one maybe could be on the lower side despite the fact that the roof is open. It's hard to guess. I don't know. I'm going the other direction with it. We'll talk about that in the betting. But the roof is open. I think the ball will fly.
Starting point is 00:25:03 I think there'll be some home runs tonight. But of course, one guy that everybody wants to see a home run from and more production is Christian Walker. And there has been talk on social media about giving him a standing ovation tonight to help him out of his slump. And while I think that's very kind, I also think in my heart of hearts and I'm a cynical, terrible human being. We all know that now at this point. But I find that to be patronizing. And I also think that that puts additional pressure on him to perform instead of kind of, let's letting him just kind of relax and do his thing, right?
Starting point is 00:25:37 So I'm sure he's going to appreciate it, and I'm sure he appreciates the fan support. But I personally am not a big fan of that. What are your thoughts? I know I helped Tray Turner for the Phillies, right? It's true. And I also don't like that. I don't like doing what other people do,
Starting point is 00:25:51 but if it helps, I guess, I'm not against it. Well, I would argue that the staining ovation isn't necessarily like, oh, no, now I have to do it. It's just to say, hey, don't feel like you have to do it. You've already done it. We love you. We appreciate you. just play your game.
Starting point is 00:26:07 And so it's like, oh, okay, I don't feel the need to hit a home run. And he clearly doesn't because he's been very consistent. He got that first. Yeah. I think he's ready to break out. Had two really nice defensive plays with that ball that bounced off a first base that he barehanded. Those defensive plays were incredible. Perdomo to Walker connection late in the game.
Starting point is 00:26:27 So I mean, like, and he had the one down the line that Josh Young made a really nice place. So I think he is ready to break out at this point. but ultimately if he doesn't, that's okay. I know the fans love me and, you know, there isn't a ton of talk of you got to move him out of the fourth spot in the order. There's some. But for the most part, it's like, no, no, you're the guy and we believe in you. We're going to give you that standing ovation.
Starting point is 00:26:48 And just keep playing great defense. There you go. Well, I got to take a look at my bets because as you guys who have been watching these pregame show, no, it is my job to curse the Rangers. I don't know if I really did that tonight, though, but let's take a look at what I got. And reverse curse the Diamondback. I definitely went with the over. I might just be going too much in the Diamondback's direction this time.
Starting point is 00:27:08 I went with the over because I think there's going to be a lot of runs scored with that roof open. I think Catelle keeps doing it and I have to include him in there. That's just part of this gimmick at this point. Brandon Fott looking hot. I went with five plus strikeouts. That wasn't even the minimum. And I'm just feeling it. Tried to sprinkle a little that little that bad juju on Garcia,
Starting point is 00:27:28 give him the one home run in there. And I know Max Schurzer or at least is going to walk one. So I don't know. This one's at 1650. Maybe you take this one. Maybe this one is one of those ones that hit. We know a couple of them have. And even though they aren't in the best situation,
Starting point is 00:27:41 you can always head your bets. Had your feelings here with your bets and make sure you make that emotional hedge. But I am so excited to go watch the World Series here at Chase Field. Wow. So I know so many of you guys are already there. We appreciate you guys for tuning in. 22 years of suffering. It's over.
