Starting point is 00:00:10 and welcome in to another edition of the PHMX D-Backs podcast right here on PHMX. My name is Derek Montia. Of course, I'm the mayor of PHMX. This is my snake, Jesse Jr. And that is his father, Jesse, of course, known as the vice man and your thunder stick. Diamondbacks win another series. Stop me if you've heard this one. Diamondbacks win by a score of three to one over the Marlins,
Starting point is 00:00:35 clinching a series win. And they got things back on track after leaving that nightmarish hell. hole known as the TROP, which, by the way, the Diamondbacks have only won four games in franchise history at the drop. And it makes sense with the way that that building is constructed. But D-BACs continue to be very, very good. They are now 20 and 6 in their last 26 games. And 30 and 13 since July 1st.
Starting point is 00:00:59 They remain the hottest team in baseball since July 1st, right up there kind of still going neck and neck there with the Padres in regards to the best record lately. Yeah, well, I would try to do my my best Archie Bradley impression I don't think I quite have the beard for it. You definitely don't. That's not quite there. You're just incapable of that. Yeah, we'll get there eventually.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Derek, I'm still optimistic. Yeah, Archie Bradley will be back on the Ph. and XT back show very soon. We'll be on every single show. I mean, he doesn't. He can only put up with so much of one of us. Yeah. Yeah, we'll leave it to you guys to figure out who's who.
Starting point is 00:01:39 But yeah, I am not Archie Bradley, unfortunately. But I am here to talk about a Diamondback Series win over the Miami Marlins and what was a pretty well-played game for them today. Offensively, I guess, not great necessarily. You know, they only scored three runs in this one. I thought Edward Cabrera was pretty good for the Marlins. He's been better lately. I don't think his ERA is really a totally fair representation of the pitcher that he is at this point. I thought he pitched pretty well today.
Starting point is 00:02:09 The D-Backs were able to scratch across a few runs. Lordis hitting a home run, Corbyn Carol as well, Jock Peterson with that RBI single in the first inning. And Eduardo Rodriguez, Derek, as you said, from the top, turning in his best outings so far as a member of the Diamondbacks, granted just his third outing so far. And Corbin Carroll made an outstanding catch in right field to keep his final line looking very nice. Ryan Thompson very nearly allowed a two-run gapper that would have would have tied the game in that sixth inning. Corbyn comes through there with that big catch. But yeah, Diamondback is able to hold on and win this one by a final score of three to one. Yeah, we'll get into all of this for sure.
Starting point is 00:02:52 But it's just amazing that one day removed from us thinking the Diamondbacks offense is back. You know, they scored nine runs, which they almost needed all nine of them to win yesterday's game with a phenomenal outing. by Adrian Del Castillo with those six RBI and the Grand Slam home run. But today it's kind of a different story, right? The Diamondbacks did not have much offense and they needed, they needed good pitching. They needed solid pitching from Eduardo Rodriguez in order to maintain their lead and win this one. But they did score run in the first on an RBI single by Jock Peterson, scored Corbyn Carroll from first base.
Starting point is 00:03:28 And Corbyn Carroll was involved in a lot of the offense today. He also hit a solo home run, which is his 12th home run since, July 7th. Jesse Carroll has reached based safely in 30 straight starts since July 7th, which is amazing. The only other debacks to reach at least 29 straight starts were
Starting point is 00:03:48 Cattell twice, Steve Finley, and Luis Gonzalez. So some pretty elite company there. But more importantly, five homers in his last 10 games. He is hitting a home run right now. Every other game. Yeah, Corbin is, has really found his power stroke, I guess, at this point.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Yeah, 12 homers since July 7th, as you said. That's after hitting two homers in his first 87 games this season. You know, it's not all that long ago that we were wondering if Corbyn was going to crack double digits with the long ball this season. And suddenly you're talking about his 14th and, you know, 20, like seems that feels like a pretty realistic goal for him at this point with the pace that he's at right now. He continues to really have turned things around in a big way. After that Homer that he hit early on in this one, I looked at a slugging percentage going back to that July 7th date.
Starting point is 00:04:40 It was 627. And that is pretty good, Derek. That will play. That will play. And that 30 straight starts goes back to July 7th. So basically, Corby and Carroll has been a different baseball player since July 7th. And, I mean, it's an amazing stretch. It's the obvious opposite of what he went through for the first two plus months of the season.
Starting point is 00:05:04 But hopefully he can maintain this. And even if not maintain this, maybe just still be a much better version of himself more like this throughout the rest of the season. It definitely looks like you're seeing a different swing from him. I notice on a lot of those home runs, especially those opposite field home runs like today's home run. He's using the one-handed follow through, which is something that at times, you know, we haven't seen as much of. And we know that that might, might or might not be linked back to, you know, that injury scare. that he had last season, but it definitely just looks like his swing is, you know, more powerful and the results obviously are there with the, with the dingers he's hitting.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Yeah, that was a really not a bad pitch by Edward Cabrera at all. No. I want to say it was a change up on the lower outside corner. I mean, I think it was pretty much a perfectly executed pitch. That's the one that used to get him all season. That, like an outside, lower, you know, corner pitch and the high strikes, you know, were the things that were really getting him. And it still didn't feel like even though he kind of was hitting.
Starting point is 00:06:04 the high fastball better. It still felt like he was not getting to those outside, you know, pitches or he was still swinging at them without making contact and striking out a bit on it. But yeah, no, lately, I mean, he's getting that extension. And he just, he looks right. He looks like his old self from, you know, the rookie of the year season he had last year over the stretch. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:25 He, you can just tell with, with the swing itself. It just, it doesn't, it doesn't look as flat as it used to. We've talked about his vertical bat angle throughout much of this season and how he talked early on about how his swing got too flat. Those numbers have started to look a little bit more reasonable here in the last month or so. And it passes the eye test as well in order to take a pitch at the bottom of the zone out. You need to have a little bit of loft in your swing. And you definitely saw it with that swing going out to left field. So yeah, he continues to be huge for the diamondbacks at time where, I mean, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:03 now that you have Catea officially on the injured list. I mean, this is three very important everyday players for the Diamondbacks. And Gabriel Moreno, Christian Walker and Cotel Marte, who are all on the injured list right now. You really need Corvin Carroll to step up at a time like this. And he is very much delivered on that. There's a comment there from Mr. A. Z. If you could scroll up our guy, Mr. A. Z, who I hope he didn't. Did you sneak the Lil' Miss Barbecue into this podcast with maybe a Chick-fil-A sandwich?
Starting point is 00:07:31 because I know what you do. Mr. Aiz says he's seventh and the MLB and runs only one behind sixth. So yeah, that's something obviously that has been a big part of his game too. Getting on base being that driving force, we saw that in the first inning. The Diamondbacks once again scored in the first inning. They gave themselves that early lead, which, you know, allowed Eduardo Rodriguez to get to work. But you said earlier, Lordus Guerriel Jr. also hit a solo home run.
Starting point is 00:07:56 He's been very good. And the debacks have been hitting the long ball quite a bit. D-backs have 34 home runs, Jesse, since August 1st, which is best in Major League Baseball. Yeah, we talked about it a lot, especially when they were in the thick of the thick of that run, where they were just hitting an outrageous number of home runs. And it didn't feel like the most sustainable thing in the world, like the Diamondbacks, they do have some homerun hitters. I mean, we looked at this roster going into the season thinking, like, wow, you could totally have,
Starting point is 00:08:27 you know, seven guys with 20 or more homers. That felt like a pretty realistic goal. And the team really has come around and hit quite a few homers, especially recently. I do look at Lordus Guerriel in particular as being very important for the Diamondbacks in that regard. We really have not seen much pop at all from Lordus recently. He came into today with a 275 average since July 4th, which is perfectly fine, but only a 351 slugging percentage. He's been hitting almost all singles as a. of the last, over the last month and a half.
Starting point is 00:09:03 And entering today in the month of August, Lourdes had just one extra base hit this month, which was a double. So to see him find that power swing there in that spot, you know, especially really a no doubt home run. You kind of knew it was gone immediately. That's big for the Diamondbacks to have someone, you know, closer to the bottom of the line.
Starting point is 00:09:22 I guess he's been hitting in the middle of the lineup a lot recently. But to have Lortis as a 15, 20 home run guy, something like that is really big. for this team. Damon, there was another chat involving someone winning some money there on Corbyn's home run. I think it was from Cam Schack right there. Said I'm a Cubs fan.
Starting point is 00:09:41 Welcome in. We're happy to have you, especially on a day where we're not playing your team. And Corbyn made me 1K by hitting a home run. Love you, Corbyn. God bless you. Speaking of which, Damon took the over on the future for Corbyn's home runs this year, which was 22 and a half. And that bet went from being dead in the water after him.
Starting point is 00:10:00 getting two home runs in three months to looking like we have a chance we have a we have a chance the people's producer has a chance so um there's like a thing with future betting where it's like when when you when you really feel bad about one you kind of just want it to get out of your face because it'll it'll it'll say it's open still in your app every time you look at it it's the first one at the top it looks like it's haunting you yeah it's it's it's very personal and that's how i felt about this particular bet i was like please get this as far away from me as humanly possible. And now, right now, at this exact moment, I feel great about it. Because Corbyn is back. He might be the best player in baseball. I've been talking to Jesse about this bet,
Starting point is 00:10:40 like giving him daily updates. And it's just incredible. I mean, Corby, we're cashing this bet. We are cashing this bet. Well, any had a game saving catch there, you could say, because with this being such a close game, things could have gotten out of control there for Erod in the sixth inning. And Corbyn made an outstanding play. And of course, Erod didn't give up. much in this game he was pretty good and of course this is this is the erod you know at his best that that the diamond backs went out and got a guy that's going to go out there obviously today wasn't very efficient but he was effective and he was able to you know give the diamond backs five and a third solid you know but i mean again if he can get to six innings if he can get his you know up to a
Starting point is 00:11:22 quality start you know and only allowing one one run run like he did today that's pretty damn good but he didn't have much contact there in the first few innings. He just threw a lot of pitches. Yeah, yeah. The Marlins hitters were working deep counts. It was a lot of long at bats early on, even though Eduardo Rodriguez was finding ways to win pretty much all of them. I enjoyed hearing Tom Candiotti on TV broadcast.
Starting point is 00:11:47 He was in love with him today. Oh, my gosh. I mean, Tom Candiotti, right? Like, he's a knuckleballer, right? He's someone like a lot of pitchers who are who are color commentators, obviously, who very much appreciates guys hitting the corners, throwing pitches that make sense following a game plan. He compared him to Tom Clavin.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Did he? I did not hear that. That's, that's amazing. That's hilarious. Yeah. And, you know, I don't think this was necessarily Eduardo Rodriguez at his best from a location standpoint. We saw some lapses toward the end of his outing in particular, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:23 a lead off walk. is not really what you want to see starting off the sixth inning. But he was able to work around the little bit of traffic that he had on the bases. Ryan Thompson, of course, helped him out. Corbyn Carroll also helped him out with that catch, as you said, in the sixth inning. So, yeah, this is exactly what you're hoping, Eduardo Rodriguez to be for your team. Go out there and hit the corners and, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:49 maybe be a little bit more efficient than today. try to get through six innings, but it was still a really solid outing for him. Well, and I mean, again, it's one of those days where you feel pretty good about this team when you have Ryan Thompson come out, tee time, tea time. I'm teed up right now. Ryan Thompson comes in. Tough situation in the sixth inning with two on, right, and one out. Yeah, second and third one out.
Starting point is 00:13:15 I mean, that was a pretty tough spot for Ryan Thompson to come in. And he's not very good with inherited runners either. So it's not like he's the guy that you like you know you see come in and necessarily shut things down especially lately but he did exactly that he got a infield pop up and then he gets the final out of the inning with no run scoring And a j puck also very good also very good for this team yeah a j puck just continues to be such a huge part of this bullpen I can't really imagine Derek where the diamond backs would be without him in some ways. I mean like Like, sure, they would still be a playoff team. I'm not saying the difference of making that trade versus not as eight games in the standings or whatever.
Starting point is 00:13:57 The Scott McGuff might be in this bullpen right now. Yeah, I mean, just the stability that he has provided to this bullpen since coming over in the trade, especially given that the Paul Seawald situation, like Seawald was removed from the closer role a few days after Puck was acquired. And it's not that Puck has filled that role. He hasn't been the Diamondbacks closer, although he's gotten a couple of those opportunities. but he has stepped into a high leverage role at the back end of this bullpen and been as good as you possibly could have imagined him being. I mean, you look at his numbers since that trade was made.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Puck has gone 11 innings now for the Diamondbacks and allowed one earned run. He has two walks to 14 strikeouts in that span. He's only allowed six hits in those 11 innings. So he has been everything you possibly could have imagined. And at a time where Ryan Thompson struggled a little bit, Kevin Ginkle's been maybe a little bit less automatic recently. Justin Martinez has still been pretty good. He was very good today.
Starting point is 00:14:55 But he's had some bumps in the road. AJ Puck has just come in and been dominant from the day the Diamondbacks acquired him. He's given up one earned run in his last 27 appearances. Yeah, if you go if you include, yeah, that includes what his last 16 appearances or something like that with the Marlins. That's wild. I mean, one earned run. That's crazy. In 20, yeah, those are absolutely crazy numbers.
Starting point is 00:15:19 And that's why when the debacks made the trade, we cautioned everyone. Like, don't just look at the ERA, which I think was 4.31 at the time or whatever. It was heavily skewed by those several starts that he made at the beginning of the season. And not only that, but he was on an insane run out of the bullpen when the debacks first got him. And that's just continued and carried over here to Arizona. And we can't say enough about Justin Martinez either because he looks more and more comfortable in that role. And even though Tori has not made any official declarations of who their closer is, I think it's fairly apparent who they're trying to groom for that role and who they feel
Starting point is 00:15:57 is like ready right now to get there. I know it's against Marlins team that doesn't have a very potent offense. So it's not like it's one of those situations where, you know, he went out there and struck out the heart of the lineup against the Phillies or something of that sort. But Justin Martinez is just getting those opportunities more and more and he's becoming more and more comfortable. and I think all fans that watch this game, watch this team want him in that role. Like that is the guy I think you want in that role. What Archie said yesterday was very relevant though.
Starting point is 00:16:27 It's a matter of, you know, kind of having a game plan and having, I guess being a bit crafty, not just about how good your stuff is. And Justin Martinez is still in the middle of developing a lot of those tools, a lot of those things. He's still very young, a pitcher. But I think he's ready.
Starting point is 00:16:46 And I think, you know, again, it's the experience. It's going out there and realizing that like pitching against a team like the Marlins tonight is no different than going out there and pitching against, you know, the best lineups in baseball. It's more about him understanding that he has the stuff to, you know, go out there and get the job done in the ninth inning, right? So I'm a fan of him getting these opportunities. I'm a fan of him doing it more and more, even if it's not necessarily a save opportunity just going out there in a ninth inning. and knowing that's his role for this team. Yeah, I know that Tori was asked several days ago during the homestand about, like,
Starting point is 00:17:23 is it safe to call Justin Martinez your closer? And Tori was not willing to go there. He, you know, kind of talked about matchups and how if there was a wall of a bunch of lefties or, you know, a bunch of righties, maybe they'd go to Ryan Thompson with the lefties. They'd go to AJ Puck. But honestly, Derek, and I'm not saying this
Starting point is 00:17:42 because of some sort of off-the-record conversation I've had or anything. But just sort of what I suspect is that Tori is hesitant to put that label on Justin Martinez because there's a lot of pressure that comes with being named the closer of your team and having your manager go out there publicly and say that. But I think based on how Tori has operated, Justin Martinez is the closer of like he's getting every single save opportunity. It doesn't really feel like there are any situations that could pop up right now where Tori would go to someone. else unless Martinez was down or something. So it feels to me like he basically is the closer right now and he's done a pretty good job of it over. Damon,
Starting point is 00:18:25 Damon put Max's comment up on the screen. Do we have to go to war with the Rising podcast? Are they done over there? Max is in the other studio telling me to fix my posture. I'm slouching in the other studio. You know exactly how these damn chairs in this studio works. How dare you try to act like anyone can have proper posture in this thing. I'm pulling an MLB manager right now, and I'm telling how about you worry about your guys?
Starting point is 00:18:49 Yeah. I'll worry about my guys. Do I have to go, I will. No, no, I got it, Derek. I got it. I'll go over there and drag him in here and apologize. Jesse, you're going to have to be holding back guy. You're going to have to be hold Derek back guy and all have the conversation with Max.
Starting point is 00:19:03 He can communicate with me. Leave my guys alone. He's the middle of a game. All right. Thank you. I appreciate your managing of this game. But I guess we have to do, do have to question Tori's managing of some of these games because, errod again he got out of it but it was definitely you know you put ryan thompson in a tough
Starting point is 00:19:21 position to go out there with two on on second and third and try to get out of that with just one out right yeah felt like erod was already where he was with his pitch count i believe after you know the first out and then you know tori lets him continue out there not exactly sure what the thinking is but it seems like it's been a pattern lately especially with these guys that have just kind of returned to the lineup like E. Rod and Merrill. Yeah, I do think there are some valid questions to be asked here about Tori, leaving his starters in maybe a little too long. I mean, at least a conversation.
Starting point is 00:19:55 I don't think it's obvious that Tori is doing that. But I think we can all agree that, you know, if Hesu Sanchez comes in, and that was a 110 mile an hour line drive that he hit against Ryan Thompson, for as great of a play as it was by Corbyn Carroll, and I don't want to take anything away from that, If Sanchez hits that, you know, five, ten feet more to the left, Corbin and just, I mean, even with his range, there's just no way he's getting to that ball. And suddenly this is a game that's tied at three. And who knows, maybe we're still playing baseball right now, right?
Starting point is 00:20:25 Gross. So, like, we were very close to that situation happening. And if that had happened, the narrative after this game absolutely would have been, you know, Eduardo Rodriguez comes out and walks the first batter of the sixth inning, should he have actually continued beyond that when it seemed like his command was. wavering. Even the next guy that he faced in that frame, but he did get out, I believe it was a pitch that was a clear mistake pitch right down the middle. I think it was a deep flyout to center field. So there are some questions to be asked there, and it has become a bit of a trend. You look back at yesterday's game with Brandon fought on the mound. The debacks had a five-two lead, fought in that sixth inning, allowed two runs and was allowed to face five batters. When he left, there were
Starting point is 00:21:08 runners at the corners with only one out and Kevin Ginkle came in to sort of save the day there and get an inning, ending, double play. Obviously, the D-BACs wound up scoring more runs than that one. But that's another situation where if Ginkle isn't able to shut the door in that moment, even if there's just a sacrifice fly, then you're talking about a tie game and it feels like you may be left fought in a little bit too long. You know, I think there's a similar angle with Merrill Kelly in that Sunday game, a game that the debacks wound up losing by just one run and it wound up going to extras.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Merrill had just allowed three runs in the fifth inning to make it five to nothing. And then he came back out for the sixth and he walked the first two batters before he was removed from the game. It's another situation where you can ask, like should Tori have removed Merrill after walking one batter? Right. And then gone to the bullpen at that point. Joe Mansuply threw pretty well in relief in that situation.
Starting point is 00:22:02 But he did wind up allowing a run on a wilder. pitch and you ask like okay if man supply doesn't allow that run there then maybe you're looking at a game that doesn't go to extras maybe that adrian del castillo three run homer is is actually a game winning home run for the devax and it saves their bullpen from you know having to go to extras and obviously maybe would turn a loss into a win for them so uh yeah i don't think it's obvious like you know the the bullpen is pretty gassed right now i i think that's probably played a role in how torreys manage things the last couple of days, but just a trend that we've seen the last few days where Tori has stuck with his starters and it hasn't really worked out all that well for him.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Well, we do have our King Snake and he is there telling you to leave a like at the bottom of the screen. It is the one, the only, the incomparable Corbyn Carol, two for four today with that home run, two runs scored, one game saving catch like Corbyn almost won this game on his own. I know it's a team sport, but his contributions on the offense and the defense were just huge today. And again, Corbyn just been incredible lately. He's just a completely different player. And again, there's there's some thought there that, you know, maybe after working on his swing for as long as he has, maybe he's finally figured it out a bit. And like Jesse said, it definitely doesn't look as flat as it's been through the swing plane. So there's that. But also, I mean, he just, he looks different. He
Starting point is 00:23:28 looks more confident. There was a period of time where Corbyn Carroll, I don't know if it's, I don't think he looked timid. He just looked very upset all the time. He looked very angry. He didn't look like he was having much fun out there playing baseball. And understandably so, after you come off of a season like he came off of last year and the trip to the World Series that this team had, their struggles early on, he was a big part of them, right? And so it is hard, I think for somebody who expects as much out of himself as Corby and Carol does and who you know is his competitive and wants to win as much as he does to go out there and and be enjoying you know his his job is his game of playing baseball right but he definitely looks like it now and I know he's wearing that vest right now in the
Starting point is 00:24:12 clubhouse with the light show and everything so that's going to be fun for him do they bring the lights on the road they have to bring Jesse it's a very it's not a very complicated system Paul Sewald packs up the light maybe a travel system maybe it's a little different you know like you can get one of these like little things like that you plug in it's real easy i i demand it i demand that the best and some sort of light show goes on the road with them but uh of course uh that corbin carroll home run there uh that is our sanderson ford uh drive of the game so make sure of course to check out our friends at sanderson ford i had to uh i had to return my sanderson ford vehicle today and i my daughter doesn't look at me the same anymore
Starting point is 00:24:55 The look of disappointment when I picked her up from school today was like no other. Like she actually just like, like she deflated not seeing the 24 for, you know, big brand big bend bronco she covered her face as she went over to the car to get in it. I was embarrassed to be in it. Like we both had the same look. I was like, look, I didn't want to drive this thing. Oh, the air conditioning sucks in my car. It's ice cold in that Ford Bronco.
Starting point is 00:25:20 But of course, we are proud to have Sanderson Ford as our official vehicle partner. And again, that Corby and Carroll home run is the deep drive of the game. Of course, the runners in scoring position there, Marlins were one for nine. They had a lot of doubles,
Starting point is 00:28:57 a lot of guys they left stranded out there. Diamondbacks were one for five. So neither team extremely good with ducks on the pond. Extra base hits is always hilarious. Of course, so is hard hit percentage. But the Marlins had four extra base hits to the Diamondbacks two. The Diamondbacks two just went further and counted more. The hard hit percentage here, 36% for the Marlins.
Starting point is 00:29:21 36% for the dot of X. Why do we even, why do we even use this stat? We need to eradicate this hard hit percentage. It's always a, it's always a ride, isn't it? It's always a wonderful ride. They should still be playing, Derek. They should still be playing because the hard hit percentages were equal. Yeah, is ultimately.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Yeah, somebody's got to come out on top on all of these categories, right? I will, I will say again real quick that I think Edward Cabrera threw pretty well in this game. And I think over the past, if you look at his numbers in 2022 and 2023, Edward Cabrera, I believe it's 36 games, 34 starts, and an ERA right around 3.7. So over the past two years, Cabrera has actually been a pretty good starter. And even his peripherals this season suggests a guy who I think is better than the high fives, ERA that he came in with today. So, you know, not saying that Cabrera is the best starter in the league or anything,
Starting point is 00:30:18 But, you know, you score three runs and six innings against him. I think that's fine. Maybe you'd like to see the devax tack on a little bit more late in the game against a Marlins bullpen. That's obviously been gutted with all the trades they made at the deadline. But three runs was enough today, Derek. And sometimes that's just the way it's going to be. You're not wrong. Now the Diamondbacks have a chance to go for the S word tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:30:43 I won't use it because I know how much you guys hate when I do. But you know what I mean. Wink. And if they do, right, they are three and three on this road trip thus far. And considering that it started out with them getting s-worded, then, I mean, it could end up being fairly successful, even if they don't necessarily win that series in Boston. It's going to be a tough trip up to Fenway, right? So the Diamondbacks have that remaining on the road trip. But like, I think going four and six, considering how things started out, would be considered a pretty successful.
Starting point is 00:31:17 successful trip or no I'm sorry I think it would just be a four and five yeah it's a nine it's nine games total so yeah if you're able to if you're able to go five and four I mean I think you feel really good about that obviously that would require the debacks to to win three of their next four games um but yeah even if you do go four and five on this road trip like playing around 500 baseball on the road there are there are much worse things than that so max is right there I want to go get him I don't know I don't know I'm supposed to Get that son of a bitch out of here. You get backs out of here. You get out of here. You get out of here. You get out of here. You 86 him out of here, Damon. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:58 It's utter chaos behind the camera right now, everyone. I know none of you can see what's happening right now, but. He's the worst. It's roughly Skip Schumacher talking with the home plate empire yesterday. Yeah, that's what it is. It's roughly what's going on. Let's just play our game. John boy lip reading.
Starting point is 00:32:16 Let's just play our game, boys. Yeah, you're right. It's not about him. You're right. It's not about them. It's not about the opponent. It's about us. Oh, and talk to your man.
Starting point is 00:32:22 Sorry, I had to get that out. No. I'd like to apologize on behalf of the Rising podcast for the bad behavior. I love you, Reese. I don't know why. I didn't mean to yell it either, you guys. You know, the ad man. He doesn't know what he's doing.
Starting point is 00:32:36 Thank you. I appreciate that. Of course, Reese doesn't lie. Reese isn't baby angel and he has never lied in his entire life. I don't know if I believe that he's never lied. I will tell you this much. The numbers. also don't lie.
Starting point is 00:32:48 So let's take a look at tonight's number that doesn't lie. Jesse, what do you got for us? Yeah, this goes back to AJ Puck, Derek. The number is 288. That's a decimal point 288. And that represents not the opposing batting average for AJ Puck, not the opposing slugging percentage, but the opposing OPS for AJ Puck over his last 26 appearances entering today,
Starting point is 00:33:15 which is absolutely, wild. AJ Puck has been basically unhittable. As you said earlier, if you include today, he's a lot of one earned run in his last 27 appearances. That goes back to June 16th. So you're talking about more than a two-month span now where A.J. Puck is held opposing hitters to an OPS under 300. These are outrageous numbers. And it just brings me back to what I said earlier about how important he has been to this bullpen when there's been some moving parts and some guys moving in and out of other roles. puck has really been a stabilizing presence for this team. Well, and speaking of a stabilizing presence,
Starting point is 00:33:51 the Diamondbacks went out and acquired a player here just so that they could maybe have some stability in the absence of Cotell Marte. But of course, we will talk about that here in a minute. But first, make sure to check out our friends from GameTime. Game time, of course, has the best last minute ticket deals. I was explaining this to someone today. They were on the T website.
Starting point is 00:34:20 I'll try not to say any things that might bother anybody, but, you know, the one T website that does all the tickets, it controls our lives, right? Yeah, see, he's back there. He knows no free ads, right? I'm not going to give up a free ad, but what I'm going to tell you is, is that much like a lot of people,
Starting point is 00:34:32 I had a friend that went on to that website and was convinced that the upcoming Sabrina Carpenter concert that she needs to buy tickets for her daughter for was not sold out, Jesse. And I know you're a huge Sabrina Carpenter fan. Absolutely. I know you probably already have your tickets. But, of course, on that website, they actually were sold out.
Starting point is 00:34:52 It's just a bunch of verified resellers. And they just make it look like tickets are available, even though those tickets are very, very expensive by comparison to tickets you can find on game time. So make sure to shop on game time. And do not let those verified resellers when go through game time. Get your tickets last minute. Wait them out.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Get your tickets the day of your event. And you will save up to 60% last minute by buying your. tickets for things like the Sabrina Carpenter concert and sporting events and so much more. You can save even more with exclusive in-app deals on select seats ahead of the gamer event. And of course, right now you can save even more when you choose a section and let game time just choose the seat for you. So get down on all of those deals. Of course, right now they have their Diamondbacks Dodgers Labor Day special, which is 50% off
Starting point is 00:35:37 tickets to the Dodgers Diamondbacks game on Labor Day exclusively on Game 10. Did you say 50? 5-0, not 15, 50, 50, 50, as I would normally say, but it's a limited availability and supply, you can get your tickets while they last, so do not miss out on the chance to save 50% off your tickets to the Dodgers and Diamondbacks game on Labor Day. Of course, take the guesswork out of buying tickets with Game Time download the GameTime app, create an account and use code PHNX for $20 off your first purchase. Terms apply.

I don't return cars empty, of course.
Starting point is 00:36:52 You were probably very emotional in this moment. Oh, I was furious, in fact. I was kicking the trash can that has the little, you know, wiper thing for your window and stuff. I was mad. I was mad. But I did give it back reluctantly. I will say, though, that I failed to stop and get myself a drink inside, as one does when they only stop. Circle K for gas, which is always an absolute mistake. Because then I spent a very thirsty drive all the way to Sanderson Ford, did not stop by the
Starting point is 00:37:22 Starliner Diner and then still refused to stop by the same Circle K on the way back. And that was a huge mistake on my part. Don't be like me. Be smarter than me. Get yourself a froster or a polar pop for just 79 cents. Also, if you haven't joined this inner circle, what are you waiting for? I don't know what you're waiting for. Do so now.
Starting point is 00:37:40 It's free. You just got to download a nap. Come on. I know millennials, come on. You guys still reluctantly download apps, but you younger people, you already probably have the Circle K app. But download it right now if you don't. And join the Inner Circle for free. Terms and conditions apply at participating locations. Visit CircleK.com for details. You'll save yourself 25 cents off per gallon on your first five Phillips and then save three cents per gallon every day after that. So do not miss out on saving yourself some money at Circle K. all right jesse well the diamondbacks have acquired a new infielder in replacement for the time being of catel marty on one hand uh it does concern me it makes me feel like catel marty is not just going to be on the 10 day iL but that is most likely going to be extended i hope not but sprained ankles aren't uh aren't exactly uh something to mess with as it was said in one song one time and also archie's uh opinion about it yesterday worried me very, very much. But there's a song that talks about how sprained ankles aren't something you
Starting point is 00:38:43 It's a Drake song. It says like a sprained ankle boy, I ain't nothing to play with. But that's a whole other. I don't have to teach you about hip hop and rap songs right now. I don't have time for that. When we talk about injuries on the pH and XTBacks podcast, we always go to the best source to give you the best most reliable information. Right there. But of course, we have more on Luis Guillaume, who the Diamondbacks have acquired. And apparently who was. just sitting around, according to Jody Jackson's report, and had donated all of the baseballs he had at his house to, like, a little league team so that they could have the baseballs. And then the Diamondbacks called him, and he called him up and said, I wouldn't need those baseballs back, son, bringing those back to me. So, but fun times, do we have some stats on Louise? There we go.
Starting point is 00:39:30 They're not pretty. There's his season so far. He's definitely being brought in for his defense and not his offense. Yeah, yeah, these numbers are not going to blow you away, certainly at 218 average, 285 on base, 290 slugging percentage. He has not homered this year, six RBI. He started the year with the Atlanta Braves and then was traded to the Angels and was DFAed by the Angels just a few days ago.
Starting point is 00:39:55 So the Diamondbacks picked him up, signed him to a major league deal at that point. And they optioned Blaze Alexander as part of this move. And I think, Derek, this move says probably more to us about Blaze Alexander than it does about Yorme himself. Alexander has just really struggled lately for the diamond backs offensively. Obviously, he didn't play a ton after being called up, but he went 0 for eight with four strikeouts. And you think back to how Blaze was hitting before he got sent down earlier in the season.
Starting point is 00:40:26 And he was really scuffling at that point as well. You go back through his last 50 plate appearances in the majors at this point. Blaze Alexander has a 320 OPS. That's a pretty low number, right? And it's, you know, that 50 plate appearances isn't a ton, but that's 50 plate appearances is a lot to have an OPS that low. And specifically against right-handed pitching, Blaze is just not given the Diamondbacks a whole lot this season.
Starting point is 00:40:54 You look at his splits for the year. He had just 207, 277, 261 against Ritees this year. That's a 538 OPS. even though Guillermo's numbers offensively certainly don't look great. You look at his numbers against righties. He is a left-handed hitter. He slash 236-303-3-18. So still not, you know, not earth-shattering numbers by any means.
Starting point is 00:41:18 There are shades of Jace Peterson here for sure, a left-handed hitting infielder who has some versatility. Why did you have to do that? Maybe that's not the cop that people are all looking for. But I think it's a pretty reasonable one. He's defensively sound. He can play second base shortstop, third base, competently. And, you know, I think also with Blaze, there were some questions defensively. Not that he was terrible by any means after he got called back up.
Starting point is 00:41:44 But I think you feel better about a veteran like Giorme in the infield at this point than than you do about Blaze. So you're bringing him in for his defense, period. The man has 16 errors since 2018. 16 errors since 2018. Yeah. Jesse, we were just talking. about how long ago 2018 was remember we brought up
Starting point is 00:42:03 2017 and you were like that seven years ago that is six years and 16 errors in that time and I mean I'm fairly certain that blaze Alexander has 16 errors this year no I'm just joking about that but he doesn't quite have 16 errors this year but he does have I mean I think it might be double digits it's it's yeah it's a lot yeah and I do think it I think offensively there is a piece of this that I can understand as well given that Giorme is a left-handed hitter it just didn't make a ton of sense with Kevin Newman is kind of your front line second baseman and then Blaze coming
Starting point is 00:42:36 in to replace him. They're both right-handed hitters. Both of them are theoretically decent against lefties, but not so much against righties. It just didn't, the roster construction there just didn't really make sense. And it makes more sense with, with Giorme on the team, at least on paper. I mean, you know, he probably will not wind up playing a whole lot of time for the debacks. I mean, once Catell comes back that probably you wouldn't have a need for for someone like him anymore. But yeah, I mean, maybe he can he can step in for a few games between now and then and be sound defensively. And who knows, maybe he gets hot offensively because that's what seems to happen every time
Starting point is 00:43:16 the diamond backs bring in someone to step in for an injured player. Everybody was asking where Archie is. There is. He showed up. There's Archie. Hit the like button for Archie. God, I miss him so much already, Jesse. I just miss him so much.
Starting point is 00:43:29 Well, yeah. Are you saying I'm not as cool as Archie Bradley, Derek? Yes, that's absolutely what I'm saying. That is absolutely. I've heard all of your stories already. He has so many more stories that I haven't heard. I will say this, though. I think going out and acquiring Yorm A shows that Diamondbacks are very,
Starting point is 00:43:46 very committed to not having any deficiencies in their lineup or at least in their defense, right? Like he's not going to come out and rock, you know, the opposing pitchers. He's not going to contribute that much offensively. That's not what they're looking for him to do, but they're looking for him to have a better slash line than Blaze Alexander since June 8th, who has been 095-225-0-95, right? You know that you're going to at least get something consistent out of Giorme and the Diamondbacks need that right now. And of course, they need help. The depth is being tested at this point. The Diamondbacks have backups, but now, you know, like you said, you have Kevin Newman moving into that primary role while Cattel Marte.
Starting point is 00:44:29 is on the IL. And we also have news today that Alec Thomas is going on the IL as well in Reno. He has a right internal oblique strain and is expected to miss four weeks. So, I mean, at the very least, he's not on the main roster and the Diamondbacks should losing yet another guy. But that's a huge, huge depth piece that the Diamondbacks are losing for the next four weeks and possibly beyond that. Yeah, it's a tough blow.
Starting point is 00:44:55 If nothing else, just because you wanted Alec Thomas. to go down to AAA and figure some things out offensively, right? This wasn't just about him going down there and serving his depth for the rest of the year. I think the Diamondbacks did intend to bring out Thomas back to the big leagues at some point. And, you know, just looking out like four weeks, I mean, that's a month, right? You're talking last week or two of September, and that's not going to give him a whole lot of time, whether it be in AAA or in the big leagues heading into the playoffs if the Diamondbacks get there. So, yeah, it's tough for his development.
Starting point is 00:45:31 It's obviously tougher for the Diamondback's depth. You hope that these other guys are able to hold up between now and the end of the season. And, yeah, the injury bug just continues to, you felt like you were going to get these guys back and that no one else was going to get hurt. But that's just not the way that injuries work. And it feels like for every guy they've gotten back, there's been someone going on the IL. And Alec Thomas is the latest addition to that list. there must be a sacrifice basically is what it feels like like yes you get you get your pitchers back but
Starting point is 00:46:03 we're going to take all of your position players is what it feels like lately but speaking of those pitchers the diamondbacks do have jordan mcgomery starting on wednesday and of course we had a question earlier about it with jordan mcgomery starting on wednesday does that mean that ryan has been moved to the bullpen well not exactly because it seems like for the time being time being the Diamondbacks are still going with a six-man rotation that Tori said they weren't going to even consider one day that we were present in front of him. Remember, we said the numbers don't lie. We didn't say the Tori doesn't lie. That's definitely for sure. But I mean, obviously, it's more attractive considering the way Ryan Nelson's pitching right now, right? And the fact that
Starting point is 00:46:48 you still have guys that are working their way back slowly, it feels like a huge mistake to take the one guy that's giving you one earn runner less and most of his outings lately, you know, out of the starting rotation. Yeah, I don't, I mean, I don't know definitively what's happening here. It wouldn't totally shock me if they went back on what they said earlier and decided to just carry on with a six man at least for one more turn through the rotation, just given as well as, as Ryan Nelson's pitched. It also wouldn't totally shock me if this actually was the end of the six-man rotation and the diamondbacks chose jordan montgomery over ryan nelson and that's kind of what we've expected all along ryan nelson moves to the bullpen you can use him you know and maybe a multi-inning
Starting point is 00:47:34 roll out there maybe he emerges as a high leverage option which i think could be attractive down the stretch um but yeah we just we don't really have any answers at this point other than that jordan montgomery is not leaving the diamond back's rotation he is starting that game tomorrow and uh he has looked better lately but of course still has not been what you would hope he would be and has still very much been outperformed by Ryan Nelson as of late. And as it stands right now, the Diamondbacks do not have any probable pitchers listed for tomorrow or beyond. So we still have no confirmation there on what the Diamondbacks are going to do. Montgomery is not even listed tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:48:11 Montgomery is not listed tomorrow. Right now they still have a TBD on the DeBax probable pitchers website. They really have a thing with like waiting until the last possible moment to officially announce that. Do you think that that factors into the fact that nobody knows what they're going to do with these two pitchers so that you don't know if you're going to get Ryan Nelson or Jordan Montgomery tomorrow and it's a bit of a last minute of day planning like Steve Gilbert tweeted it out before the game. I think Tori probably just outright set it pregame. So I think Montgomery tomorrow you can pretty much lock that in at this point. But yeah, as for the weekend and whether Ryan stays in the rotation, at least from what we've heard, we don't really have any answers on that. And I suspect that with the Red Sox series this weekend, the D-Vax will wait until, you know, Friday morning, Friday afternoon to make any anything.
Starting point is 00:49:00 Maybe they won't. Maybe they'll actually announce it further in advance. But it wouldn't surprise me if they waited until the last minute again. I hate to say it. You won't let me say E-Rod shoved, but E-Rod shoved today. And honestly, Jordan Montgomery was not bad at his last outing. And Ryan Nelson is absolutely fucking shoving. So despite us constantly talking about these guys, especially Montgomery versus Ryan Nelson,
Starting point is 00:49:20 There's something wrong with Zach Gallen. There is something wrong with Zach Gallen. Like Merrill Kelly doesn't concern me because he's still back and I'll give Merrill a pass. I need to see more on Merrill. But I am concerned about Zach Gallen. And we keep talking about what the Diamondbacks are going to do for these other rotation spots. Obviously, there's not even like, let's like Corbyn Carroll's struggles early on. There was probably never even a discussion realistically about sending him down to AAA Reno because they knew he was going to come out of it.
Starting point is 00:49:47 I feel like they feel that same way out of a guy like Zach Gallen. but Jesse wrote a very interesting piece for GoPhNX.com about Zach Gallen's problems and of course he fixed all of them. Yeah, the Diamondbacks absolutely should hire me because all of Zach Gallen's problems would go away instantly if they just brought me on board. No, this was not an audition. I didn't mean to co-sign on you. You're not allowed to leave here because I can't obviously do this show without you. You know that. You're going away for, he's going away for like four days and I have to do the show for four times without him.
Starting point is 00:50:19 that doesn't seem fair at all. But of course, yes, Zach Gallen, what, I mean, you got to go read the article to truly figure out or hear Jesse's solution, but give us a little taste of what's wrong with it. Oh, yeah, I wouldn't really describe what I wrote as a solution more of like somewhat, yeah, somewhat identifying the problem. And it all comes down to fastball command. That's really the short version of it. You look at Zach Gallen's first pitch strike percentage this year.
Starting point is 00:50:48 it's 56% last year it was 66%. That's a really big drop off. And the difference between an 01 count and a 1-0 count is very, very big. Zach Gallen opposing hitters have a 588 OPS this season and counts to start 01. Compare that to 822 when the count starts 1-0. So getting ahead is really important for any pitcher in the league. And Zach Gallen is not immune to that. He has not been as good at that this season.
Starting point is 00:51:16 And a lot of that has to do with this fastball. I mean, he throws his fastball very frequently in, you know, a lot of different situations. He throws it about half the time, you know, throws it about twice as much as any of his other pitches. It's a really important weapon for him. And we, how many times have we come on this show after a Zach Gallen start over the last year or two and talked about how he didn't have his best stuff, but he kind of made it work anyway. He's still out there and gave you a five and two-thirds innings and only allowed two-runs or something like that. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:46 Exactly. we've said that time and time again, and I think an underlying narrative that allowed him to do that for so long is that his fastball command has just been really good, basically ever since he came into the league. And not only that, but his fastball is a good swing and miss pitch. I mean, the thing has good upward carry in the zone. The Velo isn't elite by any means, but it's certainly good enough about 93, 94 miles an hour. He's gotten away with some of his other pitches not being there at times because the four seamer has just been so good. And he could put it wherever he wanted. He could throw it up in the zone to get a swing and miss. He could dot the inside corner, the outside corner.
Starting point is 00:52:24 A well-placed four-seem fastball is a really good pitch. And Gallen just hasn't really had that this season. And you look specifically over this stretch since the beginning of July, where Gallen has a 5.24 ERA over his last nine starts that goes to the beginning of July. In that span, Gallen has also really struggled to put guys away with the fastball. It's not just getting ahead with it, although that is certainly part of the first. the problem. It's also putting guys away with that pitch, which is something he's done a decent amount of over the last few years. If I can find this number here, I believe it's about
Starting point is 00:52:57 11. Yeah, so it's 11.4%. When Zach Gallen in a two-strike count throws a four-seem fastball since July 1st, he's only getting a strikeout about 11% of the time compared to 22% in the first part of the season leading up to that point, which is basically in line with his career norms. So that's the other part of this with his fastball is it's not just, you know, not throwing enough of them in the zone to get ahead. It's also that with two strikes when you're trying to put guys away with it, he just hasn't been executing those pitches well enough.
Starting point is 00:53:30 And it leads to kind of what we saw on Saturday with, you know, two strike counts that just kind of drag on and on and on because he's not able to get them to, you know, whiff at a curve ball down in the zone. And if that doesn't work, you're trying to go with a fast. basketball somewhere potentially, and he just hasn't been executing those, those pitches as well as we're used to seeing. Well, we've talked a lot about the issues with the Diamondbacks, but one issue they're not having his production from their newly called up catcher, Adrian Del Castillo, who just keeps having moments, Jesse. The man just keeps having moments. I don't care about his
Starting point is 00:54:07 8% caught stealing percentage. I don't care about how a few of runners he can actually throw out what I care about is the fact that the man just hit stinger's and bombs at a very timely at very timely moments he has 11 hits and 33 at bats he's currently batting 333 with a 405 on base percentage a 667 slug and a 1072 OPS with a 9 195 OPS plus 1 95 OPS plus I mean the man is just amazing so I just I can't say enough about it it's much like Justin Martinez when he had that opportunity to pitch in front of his parents. It was so cool to see Adrian Del Castillo not only have a big day, but a huge day in front of his family.
Starting point is 00:54:54 And honestly, the Diamondbacks needed every bit of his six RBI to beat the Marlins yesterday. It wasn't a nine to one victory. It wasn't like they kept the Marlins as quiet as they did today. But ADC is just becoming a legend already. And it's another one of those problems that is a good problem for the Diamondbacks to have. It's a future problem. It's going to be one of those things that pisses people off because when Gabby Moreno comes back, wouldn't be surprised if they still keep Jose Herrera and send ADC down, even though that's
Starting point is 00:55:25 preposterous. That would make you sick to my statement. I don't know, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I don't know about that one, Gary. I'm telling you, I'm telling you from the perspective that at times there are reasons, just like Guillermo being added to this team, that even though it doesn't make sense because his numbers are not better than Adrian Del Castillo. It's for a different purpose. I'm just saying we've seen stuff like that before that's infuriating.
Starting point is 00:55:50 And it would be infuriating. I'm not saying it wouldn't be, especially if he keeps hitting the way he does. You know, it's almost like I can't believe that he's as good of a hitter as he is. And I mean, I think the Diamondback should figure out a way no matter what to keep him on this roster, considering the way he's contributing to the offense, right? So I don't know related news. I will be leading a protest down at Chase Field. If he'll organize it
Starting point is 00:56:14 Rostar move happens He'll put it out there on the Discord and on the Yeah Feel free to follow me at Damon Dogg That's DAWG and in the Discord I'll give details as well We'll be organizing a protest I mean and Benjamin Hunley makes a great point there
Starting point is 00:56:28 He says if Marino comes back and that is a good point with that injury It's not a given yeah It's not a given that he will be back so maybe the diamond backs you know Go this direction but I would be pretty surprised if And you're absolutely right that we have to see more. I mean, for as great as these nine games have been, and they have been spectacular. I mean, he has 14 RBI through nine games. I believe the record since 1920 is 15 RBI through your first nine career games. That's like since RBI first became a stat that people tracked,
Starting point is 00:57:02 no Diamondbacks hitter has ever come close to having 14 RBI in their first nine career games. I believe Carlos Quinton had the record there at nine RBI in his first nine. Yeah. So yeah, I mean, what he's, what he's doing is outrageously good right now. But you're right. We need to see it for more than nine games to really know if Adrian Del Castillo's bat is going to stick. More importantly, it needs to be a compliment to the pitching staff too, right? So like, again, it's about I'm not making any assertions there that I know anything about how, you know, he catches.
Starting point is 00:57:32 I know he has struggle at times in a couple of, in a couple of metrics, right? So like, I'm just saying that we never know what the preference might be there behind the play. and how other other factors might impact that decision. But it would be, I will be there with Damon with a pitchfork and a torch or some guide should it happen because it would be egregious if he can continue to hit. And I don't even expect him to hit like this, but if he can hit somewhere close to this, then like it would be a pretty egregious mistake to send him back down. And I mean, Diamondbacks have a couple of issues like that when these players return.
Starting point is 00:58:11 from injury what they are going to do with some of these replacements that have been very, very good at when when called upon by this team. So Haas in the comment says, how far is Seawak? I thought he was two weeks away two weeks ago. What do you have any assessment on that? Yeah, I mean, obviously I'm not on the road right now. So I'm not getting the day-to-day updates. But I would be surprised if Christian Walker joined the team on the road trip. It feels to me like, you know, the soonest you're probably getting Walker back is the start of the next homestand, which would be a week from today against the Mets. That seems totally realistic to me.
Starting point is 00:58:48 Just in time for the Dodgers. Yeah, yeah, it would be. Yeah, theoretically, that's something I was thinking about the other day. I think that Dodgers series starts 10 days from today, right on August 30th. It starts next Friday. And you have an opportunity here to have almost, I mean, you're not going to have Gabriele Moreno back by August 30th, obviously. But you could have Christian Walker back by then.
Starting point is 00:59:12 And you also could have Katel Marte back by then theoretically. I mean, he would be eligible to come off the IL at that point, given that he's just on the 10 day right now. We'll have to see how he progresses. So, yeah, that Dodger series is really important. There's no question about that. I mean, this DeBAC's division chase is, I mean, it's not looking great at the moment. They came into today four games down.
Starting point is 00:59:36 But when you have a four game series, coming up against the team you're trying to catch. For sure. You're still in a situation where that's, I mean, that's a mountain that you can climb. So getting healthy before that series is obviously a really big factor there. Sean says just text Tori, Jesse. That's frustrating to me because I'm the one that has Tori's number and they frown upon it when I call him or text him. So it's just, it's just a thing.
Starting point is 01:00:03 I think the practice of like texting managers for injury updates when you're not like currently. on the road with the teams generally frowned upon yeah it's generally frowned upon but uh dirk uses that resource to like talk about his day yeah like call tory and be like oh i had to give the bronco back today i just text tori and i say what are you thinking about you know like good friend stuff like friend stuff you know yeah if we're if we're texting tory it's just about life and whatnot it's nothing to do with any great updates are anything useful did you did you find a place to put the new Christmas lights yet. You know, that kind of thing.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Right. Important. The most important stuff. Most important stuff. But of course, we thank you guys so much for being here. We will be back tomorrow with another post-game show. At least one of us will be. In the meantime, though, you can follow us on Twitter.
Starting point is 01:00:49 Yeah, Jesse Jr. He's going to carry tomorrow. Those of us are odd. Me and Jesse doing the show together. Me and Jesse Jr. Of course, you can follow me on Twitter. I'm at K-M-M-A-M-K. This maniac next to me is at Jesse N.
Starting point is 01:00:59 Friedman. Of course, the people's producer, Damon, Dog, is at Damon, dog that's d a wg we are damans dogs park park we're not we can't muster up more than that archie i'm sorry but of course archie just he just didn't know he didn't know that that was that was part of the big right no it's not that we're incapable of marking like an actual dog but that's just that's just how we do think there's just some people have passion for being a part of the damon's dogs and some people kind of lose that luster after a little bit it's like being in a relationship for a long time
Starting point is 01:01:32 it's hard to still have that same energy. Kisses aren't as passionate anymore, but we still give each other a peck before we go to work in the morning. You know what I mean? Like, what more do you want for me? What more do you want for me? We live together.
Starting point is 01:01:46 I mean, I'll always love you guys. You'll always be, you know, my sweet little boys. Yeah. But Archie is just that there's a spark there right now. No,
Starting point is 01:01:54 when it comes to be a one of Damon's dogs. I get a new guy comes in. He's got an amazing beard. It'll wear off. You know, I get him like two weeks. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:02:02 He does, that's what, see, it's, it's, it's, it's, he grows old of things so fast. But of course, our show, again, PHNX underscore Dabax, all roads, of course, lead to at PHNX underscore sports. We appreciate you guys so much. We thank you for stopping by. We will see you tomorrow. And remember kids, baseball is fun, but it's so much more fun. When I have somebody to do this show with, you loser.
