Episode Date: May 4, 2024

The Arizona Diamondbacks are currently playing bad baseball, but that seems to go ten fold for game one of every series since Opening Day. We discuss Slade Cecconi’s outing turning on him in the fou...rth against the San Diego Padres, the D-backs anemic offense continuing to be impatient and unproductive, and if Torey Lovullo should be in the hot seat. An ALLCITY Network ProductionSUBSCRIBE to our YouTube: https://bit.ly/phnx_youtubeALL THINGS PHNX: http://linktr.ee/phnxsports PHNX Events: Get your tickets to Suns Takeovers, Coyotes & Suns Watch Parties at BetMGM, and MORE here: https://gophnx.com/events/Factor Mealkits: Use code PHNXDBACKS50 to get 50% OFF your first Factor box and free wellness shots for life with any active subscription at https://factormeals.com/phnxdbacks50Desert Financial Credit Union: Open a free checking account online with Desert Financial Credit Union and get $200 in bonuses https://www.desertfinancial.com/200Gametime: Download the Gametime app, create an account, and use code PHNX for $20 off your first purchase.Circle K:  Join Inner Circle for free by downloading the Circle K app today! Starting point is 00:00:09 Welcome in to another very sad postgame edition of the PHNXD Backs podcast. Of course, my name is Derek Montia, occasionally known as your mayor of sadness. I'm just going to keep riding the sad train. We're sad around here. This loss sucked. And there is not a lot of positive to talk about. Great night for our friends at OGs. A great night to be trying out our friends at OGs if you've never participated in that.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Of course, shout out to OG's brands, the official. sponsor flavoring Fridays, head on over to OGs Brands.com to see their full lineup, including their two newest gummies, which is their vegan OGs naturals, as well as their big OGs, which I'm a huge fan of. Find out where you can purchase. Oh, boy, where do we start with this one, gang. 10th series in a row where the Arizona Diamondbacks lose game one of the series outside of opening day. The Arizona Diamondbacks have still not won a game one of a single series that they've played.
Starting point is 00:01:17 I don't have answers at this point, right? I mean, we know what we know about this team. We know how depleted they are. We know about the injuries. And this was a very good Padres team with a very good Dillon Cease on the mound. So I don't really, I don't know where to go with this. But of course, I did want to thank you guys for being here. Rick says everyone is injured, so it's going to be rough for a while.
Starting point is 00:01:47 And I think that sums it up right now. Cogs apparently is the only one tonight who didn't let Elizabeth down, which I look forward to also being someone to let you down. Elizabeth, I know I will honor that tradition. Red Mage 08 said, can King State go to the beekeeper again? This team is just making me sad. It's funny you say that, Red Mage, because we actually had a discussion about that in our chat about possibly giving it to the beekeeper once again,
Starting point is 00:02:22 because why not? Why not? The man is a hero. He's very handsome. And he's done more this week, I feel like, for the Arizona Diamondbacks, than most of their position players have. Kattel Marte hit his 12th double of the year in the first inning. Why do I bring that up? Because that's my only positive takeaway from this team for tonight's game offensively.
Starting point is 00:02:47 I mean, they did score. A.U.N. Oswres had an RBI single, and he scored Jock, who doubled. And that's literally, I just described for you the die. Diamondbacks entire offense for tonight. Zero walks, zero walks for the Arizona Diamondbacks, one for two with runners in scoring position. So they had two runners in scoring position for the entire night. Three hits.
Starting point is 00:03:16 That's it. I mean, Dylan Cease was very good. The Diamondbacks at times made his night entirely too easy. After making him throw 42 pitches in the first two innings, I think it was around 42 pitches he recorded two outs on two pitches to start the third two outs on two pitches um he i mean he was dealing so credit where credit is due but this is concerning because this is the arizona diamond back second game in a row where they've absolutely been steamrolled by one of their n l west rivals and this this sucks uh dylan cisco six and two thirds tonight like i said he gives up
Starting point is 00:03:53 three hits one earned run allowed zero walks uh eight k uh he's The man's also an amateur beekeeper during the off season. So I don't really know what to do with that, but I do feel like that wasn't, that was a bad sign just from the beginning of the game. Learning that Dylan Cease was, in fact, a beekeeper was kind of sick. It kind of made me sick. But, of course, I am joined by the people's producer,
Starting point is 00:04:24 the one and only Damon Dog, to get his totally non-reactionary feeling. on this loss. Damon, how you feel? You know what? Let's start off with the most important topic here. I feel like maybe I'm owed an apology, being called bad vibes guy,
Starting point is 00:04:43 being made into some sort of criminal. And in reality, I'm just being truthful about this team. It's unbelievable, Derek. You made me out to be this like negative guy. I like Carlos. Carlos says rough day in the office, no biggie. Carlos is the most even-keeled guy here today.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Carlos, this is every day at the office. It's every day. No, yeah, it really, it really has been over again. I mean, it doesn't really make sense. The, you know, people, the funny thing I heard from more than one person was, I don't know why I thought that they were going to win this game. It's a game one, which they haven't won since opening day. And that is like probably the scariest trend here.
Starting point is 00:05:32 Like that's absolutely an insane stat right now for this team. And I feel like it just goes to show how they're just back is against the wall every series. Because they come in, they're dropping game one. And they're doing everything they can to not only refrain from losing the series, but already thinking about getting swept after they're, you know, after they lose game one, right? Like, it's just, it's uphill from that point. It's a very uphill climb,
Starting point is 00:06:04 and I think that that sucks for the way this team is playing right now. Look, I mean, we're going to talk about it later, but there's built-in excuses here. It just gets to a point of when do you start looking at the other guys on this team that are here, that are healthy, and start saying what where was got what has gone wrong with you. I mean, the idea that the Diamondbacks as a team can go so flat offensively. Like again, tonight they faced a very good starting pitcher.
Starting point is 00:06:42 They faced some very good starting pitching. It's one of the caveats of being a team in the National League West. There is a lot of good pitchers in this divisions and even the new ones that are added like Jordan Hicks for the Giants. are are pitching incredibly the only pictures this division is a joke the only the only the only pitchers that aren't pitching well right now are our starting pitchers right like that's that that that's and that's what sucks about this entire situation right now for the debacks this division is such a joke and i'm so sick of every single good free agent and move coming you know either to the podrays giants dinavacs or dodgers imagine how it feels being a rocky
Starting point is 00:07:24 fan by the way. I was thinking about that. Like imagine being a Rocky fan and you're just like, yeah, we're going to lose 130 games this year because each team is an all-star team in this division. It's unreal. Right. Right. And your team is so bad. And right now this team is so bad. There's there's no excuse for how poorly the offense is performing. And I mean, when you, when you take a look at, like, especially one of the things that's really driving me nuts, is the lack of patience by anybody that isn't Jock Peterson or Cotell Marte. It just feels like, I mean, tonight we saw, I think, Lordus put together a couple, you know, some decent at bats.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Lordus, I tweeted this out, but Lordus got, you know, of course, one of the hardest, he hit one of the hardest hit balls of the night. All the other balls that were hit in, in that, like, exit v. low range. Mani Machado's home run, 111.7 miles per hour. Jake Cronerworth did have a line out that was 107.7. point eight miles an hour. Fernando Tatis's home run, 107.7.7 miles per hour. Lordus Guriel, 107.1 mile per hour lineout to the third baseman.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Jackson Merrill, 104.1 double. Gabriel Moreno, 103.6, ground into a double play. That's what, you know, it, it, there's just some things right now that aren't going the Diamondbacks way. I'm not going to say it's luck, because, yeah, at times they're hitting it right at a defender. And, you know, you can hit it as hard as you want, but if you hit it right, they're going to catch it, right? So there's, there, there is still some blame here on the Diamondbacks hitters.
Starting point is 00:09:07 But man, it's got to be disheartening when you hit a ball 107 miles per hour and it's just an out, you know, and especially right now when you're struggling to get going, how much you needed that one, you know, ball to fall in the play just to feel like, you can hit a baseball again for an actual hit. It felt like it feels like everything that could possibly go wrong for this team does go wrong for this team. I mean, like I know that I've been saying that since the beginning, but like I'm talking about like every time that we like just lace a pitch, it goes right out somebody or it's like foul by this much.
Starting point is 00:09:46 And meanwhile, the other team like they're they hit like especially early in the season. And it was a lot of like slow dribblers or like little like, you know, shitty pop-ups that found outfield grass. And like it just feels, I don't know, it feels like the baseball gods are against us after, you know, having such a remarkable season last year. Yeah. And it just it and it feels really bad. It feels really, really bad. It feels like like like we sold our souls to the devil to win the National League. And then all of a sudden now everything that possibly could go wrong is happening to us.
Starting point is 00:10:20 injuries, bad pitching, bad bullpen, bad defense. The devil said, I'm going to take 20, 24 away from you. And they're like, yeah, whatever. I mean, what does he even mean by that? You know, yeah, sure, take 20, 24 away from us. And he did. And he has. Slate's a coney tonight started off as great as you can imagine through 41 pitches.
Starting point is 00:10:45 He went nine up, nine down, didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning. when his first hit aloud was a home run by Fernando Tatis Jr. Neat. That's neat. He walks pro far. Tatis hits the home run, too. We're on home run. What did you want to say about Tatis the other day, Derek?
Starting point is 00:11:02 What was it? We didn't bring up that. We didn't talk that. We didn't discuss that mailbag Monday question. No, we didn't. There's no reason to. No, there isn't. I said nothing.
Starting point is 00:11:13 It wasn't on record. There's nothing anybody could find. You're a liar. You're a known liar. and no one should trust you at all. But anyway, back to Slade failing at what he does and not me failing at what I do. Yeah, consecutive jacks, one, two, to T's one to Croninworth. Then he walks Machado and then Machado scores on a Jackson Merrill double.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Slade gets pulled out. Like life happens fast. You went so many innings of looking great. and then immediately just absolutely get slammed. He ends up going four to third, giving up five hits, six earned. He walked two and struck out four. I don't know. I was ready to crown Slade.
Starting point is 00:11:59 I was ready to crown him, you know, especially considering like the Diamondbacks, you know, we as Diamondbacks fans were so hyper-focused on the injuries and the guys returning and the actual starting rotation being together. We're worried about Jordan Montgomery. We're worried about when we're going to get Merrill Kelly back. We're not really thinking about Slade, despite how good he has actually been prior to the fourth inning in this game, right? So Slade has actually been really, really good. And he was incredibly good tonight through 41 pitches.
Starting point is 00:12:27 But then everything fell apart for him. Why? Because it was the second time through the rotation. And guys were getting a chance to see him again. That's why. I mean, this is a very, very good Padres lineup. They're very, very good hitters. And despite his change up working and him topping out at nearly 99.
Starting point is 00:12:46 miles per hour tonight. He still didn't really have enough to get through, you know, that starting lineup once again, which, which it's mashes and they're adding Louisa rise to it. So it's going to mash even more. But, you know, again, this is, this is temporary for the Diamondbacks. We just don't know when that temporary period ends. I mean, yeah, he looked incredible through his first time around. And then obviously after his last game, I'm sure me and you both, Derek, we're thinking,
Starting point is 00:13:18 oh my God, did we do it again? Did we find another one? Yeah, yeah. Like, I think we got another one here, guys. Yeah, we can't replace this guy out of the starting to line up. And then, and then all of a sudden, the most overrated player in the major league baseball comes up to the play for Andrew Tatee's Jr. I don't know what about him.
Starting point is 00:13:35 That's a crazy statement. Derek said that, not me. But the most overrated player in the league comes up and just math. is a home run and you're like ever from that ever since that moment it kind of fell over even at two zero I was sitting there and I was like it was for a run it was scoring a run yeah as as much as but we scored a run but not more than a run right so yeah you're right I mean the the that could have been it slate this is and this is what we talked about the other day right like as as as as as angry as you may want to get about Jordan Montgomery's outing he could have had a
Starting point is 00:14:14 great outing and it still wouldn't have mattered with the way this anemic offense is performing right now right same thing tonight slade could have gone out there not a not a no hitter not a perfect game but let's say he just manages to give up just that home run to tetees and then you know go six goes six gives up four hits to earn two walks four k doesn't matter it doesn't matter because the diamond backs were only able to muster up three hits tonight two extra base hits one rbi six single and that's it. You know, Nate Cleveland asks why was Payton Leadoff today? I don't know, Nate. I don't have an answer for you on that. I don't have an answer for you. I'm putting a struggling Corbyn Carroll in leadoff, Damon, over Payman Smith. I am too, but
Starting point is 00:15:04 I'm telling, I guess that's the reason. I'm just trying to answer the question. Corbyn Carroll sucks and we have to put them in the bottom of the lineup of a coordinator. So that's why Payvon Smith has to hit lead on. I don't agree with it. I just, I'm just explaining it. Well, let's work the count with our friends at Desert Financial Credit Union because, again, this is another one of those games where there is no doubt here about who won and who lost this game. San Diego Padres, seven to one over the Diamondbacks, 12 hits by the Padres to the Diamondbacks three. Padres, actually not great with runners in scoring position, three for 12, but obviously gave themselves far more opportunities than the Diamondbacks did.
Starting point is 00:15:44 Diamondbacks go one for two with their two extra base hits. Padres had seven. They walked twice. Diamondbacks didn't get a single free runner on base tonight. And I think that's like it's, it's small, right? This isn't like a huge difference here, the two walks to the zero walks, but it's patience, right? It's seen pitches.
Starting point is 00:16:05 It's working the count, which we cleverly called this. segment when we do it, right? But that's what one of the big things right now that is absolutely failing this team is patience at the plate, going up there and being able to walk or at least see enough pitches where not only are you making the starting pitcher work, but you're giving yourself an opportunity to see what he's throwing, maybe allow him to make a mistake. I don't really know, but the Diamondbacks were jumping over all over first, first pitches tonight, and they were not being patient at all. Gino not, has not been patient at all. I think they said on the broadcast that Gino hasn't walked in two weeks. That's, quite frankly, that's inexcusable.
Starting point is 00:16:59 That's inexcusable. And it's like, as he lets two strike fastballs go straight down the middle. It's so as advertised. It's so whatever Seattle, every Seattle Barroner's fan told us we were going to get. We talked earlier during the off season about fan graphs projections for the season. And they hated Gino. And fan crafts might have been right. I mean, they also gave Corbyn some pretty decent stats compared to what he's pulling down. But I mean, I don't know what to say in regards to this team.
Starting point is 00:17:33 it's a problem we have seen with a Tori LaVolo team entirely too often where it's kind of everybody on a given night going quiet. You know, every bat. It's, and I know it happens with baseball teams. I know it happens especially against starting pitchers, the quality of cease. It's just such a frustrating trait of this team when they're struggling that not only do they struggle, but they struggle just as a whole. whole. When they're doing well, they're connected and they're dangerous. And when they're doing poorly, they're still connected and just dragging each other down. It feels like, like I don't know what's happening with, you know, the production from guys like Corby and Garby Moreno.
Starting point is 00:18:19 But man, those two really seem to be the big missing pieces here for this team. Well, with the injuries that we've had, we can't afford for the people that are not getting injured to perform like the way that they are. It's like they're injured too in a way, right? It's like, it's like they're there. But the, yeah, like what you're getting as far as value is of a replacement player that is not nearly the, you know, not nearly the offensive threat that the injured player is, right? It's as if, you know, Carson Kelly and David Peralta, current day, David Peralta are in place of Corby Carroll and, and Gabon-Mranow. the way that they're hitting. So it's, it's not helping the team. So we when we need those guys to
Starting point is 00:19:07 carry like they carried in the playoffs, for example, they haven't been able to do that. And we need that even more so because of the injuries that we have on this roster with, with, you know, multiple starters out. So it's just, you know, we're not getting the production we need from the few people that are not injured. Yeah. Well, uh, I don't really know who to give Kingsnake to. So I think we're just going to go ahead and give it to Slate Sacconi's first 41 pitches. You know, they were literal perfection. They were actual perfection. And then we don't need to talk about anything after that anymore about today's game.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Yeah. Right? Facts. Facts. Big facts. Well, we do thank you guys for being here in the PHNX Sports YouTube channel right now. You guys are the real die-hard. Whether you're a die-hard of PHNX or if you're just here, you're already.
Starting point is 00:20:02 at diehard. So we thank you for being here. Make sure you subscribe to the PHA and Export's YouTube channel. Of course, if you haven't signed up for notifications, do so. That way you don't miss whenever, our show or any of these wonderful shows go live. Sometimes we have breaking news, and we just decide to do a podcast in the middle of the night. And sometimes we're here like we are right now doing these postgame shows. For what reason? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:27 I guess to be brave is what my only thought is. so that we're massacists. Yeah, it's so that it's, it's courage. It's so that other fan bases see us standing here, taking this L, just wearing it, and being like, yeah, we suck. So that's why we're here. And we're glad you guys are here because this show wouldn't be what it is without you guys. And, of course, we love to hear you guys here lamenting. Oh, yeah, Benjamin Hunley brings up a good point before I move on.
Starting point is 00:20:59 Absolutely. We did, the Diamondbacks announced before the game, they did trade for relief pitcher Matt Bowman from the Minnesota Twins for cash considerations. And he immediately came in and gave up a home run to Mani Machado, which it's fine. It doesn't matter. He did go one and two thirds innings pitch, giving up two hits, one of those at home run and just one earned run. So just, just one earned run. And let's give flowers to Justin Martinez because he looked outstanding. and I absolutely would not have used him in this game.
Starting point is 00:21:31 Like, what are we doing here? We need to save all of our good bullpen arms for games we're actually in. So let's keep him for another day, perhaps. But Justin Martinez continues to look like he's going to be a viable option for Tori out of the bullpen. So there's at least one bright point before we move on. But of course, another bright spot would be winning some money and winning your share of a $50,000 daily prize or the whole thing all. to yourself. Of course, right now you can get down on the bet MGM grand slam jackpot promotion. All you got to do is place a $10 or more wager on any player to hit a home run every weekend.
Starting point is 00:22:08 That's Friday, Saturday or Sunday. If they do, you will win your share of up to $50,000. Of course, if you are the only person that bet on that person and that person hits a grand slam, you get all of it or your share of that price with every other winning better. Starting point is 00:22:48 Place your first sports book wager through the mobile app for at least $10. You will receive up to $1,500 back in bonus bets if the bet loses. Check out the show notes for full details. and now listen to Shane talk about the disclaimer. around a second time. But we're such a good disclaimer. We were going to do it twice. We wanted to run it back.
Starting point is 00:23:32 Damon, you got to hit the Puerto Rico with me. Ready? One, two, three. Puerto Rico. All right. I'll take it. I'll take it. It's as close as we're going to get disconnected like this.
Starting point is 00:23:42 But of course, a great place for you, again, to keep your money. People that really know about the count and how to count is our friends at Desert Financial Credit Union. For more than 84 years, Desert Financial has been Arizona's largest, most trusted local credit union. And they, of course, helped me get this home that I'm living in right now. When you open a free checking account online, you can get $200 in bonuses. Get started by visiting desertfinancial.com slash 200. Damond, this is a topic that I do not want to discuss. But I think Gabriel brought it up earlier, and he didn't really word it this way. I think he said it more of like, you know, when do we stop calling it a slow start?
Starting point is 00:24:42 And some people are, of course, wanting to blame Tori Lavallo and into tweeting us about it, tweeting us angrily. Yeah, there's a lot of there's a lot of fire Derek tweets from Yoshi and then a couple of fire Tory tweets from other people. And I just wanted to take a chance to address it. Because I think no matter how angry you've been with the production of the team, you can agree that now is not the time to necessarily blame Tori. And here's Thunderbolt saying, what's Tori's excuses today? Well, we'll get to those excuses shortly because I'm sure he'll have something to say. but also I do have to, you know, I don't know. I'm not unbiased.
Starting point is 00:25:26 I'm not going to act like I'm unbiased. I like Tori very much. I like him as a person. I would stand here and defend Damon, even when he makes mistakes, because Damon is an incredibly hardworking dude, and I know he's trying his best at all times. And I feel like the same about Tori, but sometimes we're all a victim of circumstance, right?
Starting point is 00:25:46 And right now, as much as Tori, Oh, you son of a bitch. I know. I was not off at all. I'm never off. I'm never off. I'm the lead. Anyway, no, but, you know, of course, it's a reaction, right?
Starting point is 00:26:01 And it's an understandable one that the, you know, of course, you know, that the manager gets blamed in these situations, right? Oh, my God. I do not like this and wear this one at all. But anyway, and that's the most comments you've ever put up. But, okay. But like seriously, though, people do want to blame Tori. And I just find it to be laughable considering how much Tori has meant to this team, how much Tori impacted their run in the postseason last year.
Starting point is 00:26:33 And how much people really don't want to, you know, be mad more about the situation, you know, because it is, it is a shitty situation that they're in right now. And I'm not saying Tori's completely free of blame, right? There are a lot of times where we've discussed some questionable decisions he's made. But it's also to say he's doing what he can with what he has, which is basically half of his starters. Right. And like I think that, you know, there is some confound confounding things, right? Like when it comes to this whole team kind of going silent offensively and the struggles of Corbyn-Carrul and Gabriel Moreno, who are here and healthy,
Starting point is 00:27:16 I don't have an answer for that. And I don't know how much of that is to blame Tori and his coaching staff. I feel like there is some percentage of blame there. Like they're not free of blame, but there's some percentage of blame. But like overall, I feel like you have to give them some credit here when it comes to the lack of personnel. Right. Now, if they were playing like this with a healthy Pardomo, a healthy Alec Thomas, let's say Merrill Kelly was still in the starting rotation, and Paul Seawald was here
Starting point is 00:27:46 and they had just lost, like, let's say, Erod and, you know, a couple of other pieces. That's different. That's different. I feel like that would be a completely different story. But you do kind of have to blame the losses right now, at least. And until those pieces come back, I really don't feel like you can completely blame Tori for this mess
Starting point is 00:28:09 that they're in right now. I know that I've made my name as Mr. Reaction and Mr. Emotional and like, you know, ride the wave of whatever is going on in the world, whether that's negative or positive. I'm deciding which one of those I'm calling you from now on, by the way. So no, just continue though. Mr. Emotional. Sure. Yeah, go.
Starting point is 00:28:29 Mr. Reaction. Yeah. I like Mr. Reaction. But I, Tori is like the 20th reason why this team is struggling right now. I can think of that one game where he, he, you know, we lost the DH in that extra inning game. Yes. That was not great. That was probably on Torrey.
Starting point is 00:28:51 That was bungled. Yes. But, but like that was, that's like one game out of all of these awful losses. Yeah, pitching Scott McGuff as much as he has has been a little bit of a mistake. I think we would all agree with that. But that's not the reason that our record is what it is. Tori's not making Corbyn into a terrible baseball player. He's not.
Starting point is 00:29:15 That's not Tori's fault. No. In fact, I would argue that Tori is like maybe the best manager to have to get you from a spot where you're like down slumping in a bad place mentally to building you up to being where you need to be. I think Tori's about as positive as a guy as it gets to get you back there. And so, like, blaming Tori is crazy. That's not that he isn't even on the top 10 reasons why I would, you know, be upset about how this season has gone so far. I'm really down on this team and how they've been playing baseball, but I'm not mad at Tori's not the reason for it, in my opinion. They do need to pick it up.
Starting point is 00:29:59 But, yeah, I'm not going to be, I'm not going to be, you know, blame Tori guy. I don't think that it's his fault in the slightest. Yeah, and I mean, I'm with you there 100%. I do think, though, that at times you want to blame somebody, right? So, of course, the right person to blame is my co-host, your Thunderstick, and of course, the vice mayor, Jesse Friedman. Jesse, you're here to take the blame on this one, pal. I don't know. We were just talking about not blaming Tori because people are already tweeting us angrily about Tori should lose his job.
Starting point is 00:30:35 Oh, no, you're quiet. You're muted. Nope, it's on here. It's Damon's fault this time. Oh, you chose to mute. There you go. Now you're good. Yeah, my fault.
Starting point is 00:30:49 Hey. Definitely Damon's fault. Yeah, well, I'm already, I'm already being blamed for things, and I've been here for 30 seconds. Correct. We got to blame somebody. That's the position people from Twitter take. Somebody has to blame. They're blaming me.
Starting point is 00:31:05 I tweeted, I very cautiously. tweeted about Slate Sacconi having a good outing, Jesse, after his first three innings. And I have something to confess. When I tweeted that, I was not talking about the fact that he had a perfect game going, despite the fact that that tweet very much seemed like I was acknowledging that I was talking about that.
Starting point is 00:31:30 I was merely just saying Slate had a good game with the 4Ks. It was three innings in. I wasn't ready to talk perfect. game talk yet. I was just saying he's looked good. He hit almost 99 miles per hour. Things have been good. I wasn't tried to even suggest a perfect game thing. And then, of course, what happened happened. And to say people came for me is an understatement. So you know, you have access to the account. You were notified of all of the replies. But again, this is me just trying to place blame on somebody else besides myself. I mean, in my mind, like, it's not really a, a, a,
Starting point is 00:32:07 perfect game that I would take note of until you get to. I think the fifth inning is really when you're when you're dialed into that sort of things. Four innings, I definitely would be like, all right, I probably shouldn't say anything or else people on social media are going to get angry at me. But three innings in my mind is just too early to be putting blame on anyone for spoiling a perfect game. I mean, you're a third of the way there.
Starting point is 00:32:32 You've still got a long way to go. But Slade, Slade was very, very good out of the gate. this game. You mentioned the nearly 99 mile an hour fastball that he threw in the first inning. I believe he struck out Jake Croninworth on that fastball to end that first inning. He threw 12 pitches in the frame, got a couple of strikeouts. That 98.4 mile an hour heater was his hardest pitch in his major league career up to this point. Nick he hit 97.9, I believe, is the highest that I found looking through some of the stuff on stat cast. So he really had electric stuff out of the gate. And with Slade, there's been a question for a while of can he maintain that for a
Starting point is 00:33:11 number of innings. We saw the Diamondbacks really be careful with him last season when he was brought up to the majors. They were, you know, they were letting him go through the lineup maybe twice and then they were pulling the plug after that because they didn't feel so confident the third time through. And today it was, you know, it was 41 pitches. It was just one time through where he was exceptionally good. And then things, you know, kind of fell off from there. Elizabeth in the chat says Elise has been begging for Chase to be saged for like two weeks give the GM what she wants so I started a poll yeah I started a poll should we sage chase field it has 15 votes and 100% are yes I mean it just 15 votes there you go Jesse
Starting point is 00:33:57 10 series in a row where they have lost game one yeah that is that is uncanny isn't it um i'm not i'm not gonna lie like like some of the numbers here starting to look a little bleak like may third you know i'm not i'm not going crazy with anything there's no slips thing as a must win game at this point the season still but uh you know you talk about trying to stick around 500 during this difficult time where the devacs are out so many players they haven't done that right it was one thing when you're two games under maybe when you're three games under now the diamondbacks or five games under 500. They've dug a little bit of a hole for themselves here.
Starting point is 00:34:36 I think I saw Teo Mackey from the Republic tweeted out, but only 24 teams in Major League history have made the postseason after starting the year 14 and 19 or worse through 33 games. Granted, that's not a, it's not necessarily a great stat because the playoff field is so much bigger now than it's been for most major league history. So it's not quite as dire of a situation as that might make it out to be. but still, I mean, 14 and 19, like the debacks are going to have to be 14 games over 500 or so at the end of the year to make the postseason.
Starting point is 00:35:08 That's a lot of ground to make up. Yeah, no, it absolutely is. And that's, you know, that's the question some we're asking tonight is, you know, when do we stop calling this just a slow start? When do we really start to worry about this situation for the diamond bags? And I don't think that you're wrong to worry. I don't think anyone would be wrong to be concerned. You're right. There is no must-win games in April and maybe even May, perhaps June.
Starting point is 00:35:40 But you can't be 10, 15 games below 500 and expect to make that ground up. And you also can't expect Alec Thomas and Hualdo Perdomo to be your saviors offensively when they return to the lineup. That's the most confounding thing about this for me. It's the most confusing thing. And it is a reason for concern because, again, those guys are fine. Their return is going to help. It's going to maybe cause less defensive errors. And in some of these close games, you know, that the Diamondbacks have lost,
Starting point is 00:36:12 you could say that Thomas or, you know, Perdomo being there might have kept those games from going, you know, a different way. But that's only a handful of games. That's now not enough to say like the Diamondbacks are really, you know, missing these guys now. Of course, giving up five runs, six runs, starting pitching, putting the Diamondbacks behind like Jordan Montgomery and Slate Saccone have the last two nights. That's different, right? Because, you know, when the offense isn't rolling, we definitely need starting pitching to be doing what it was doing, you know, two weeks ago and not what it's been doing in the last two games. Yeah, I mean, when I think about all of the guys.
Starting point is 00:36:52 who are hurt, as you were alluding to there, they will make a tremendous impact, theoretically, on the Diamondbacks, you know, getting a lot of those guys back would be huge. But the impact they make is mostly on the run prevention side, not on the run scoring side. You've got a whole bunch of pitchers there. In Seawald, you've got, you know, three starting pitchers. You've got a couple of other relievers as well. You know, hitting wise, you're just out Geraldo Pardomo and out Thomas. and I'm not sure that the difference offensively between Pardomo and Thomas
Starting point is 00:37:26 and what the debacks are getting right now from those positions is all that great. The difference, you know, the upgrade that those guys provide is just a whole lot more defensive stability than what the Diamondbacks have right now. So again, that's preventing runs, right? I think that's really what the devax have to look forward to once they get some of these guys back. But offensively, this is pretty much the group, right? I mean, this is the, this is the core that we,
Starting point is 00:37:51 figured could score a pretty good number of runs this season. And on paper, they still have because of those, you know, those handful of games we keep talking about where they scored like 60 runs. But at this point, Derek, I mean, the Diamondback scored 14 runs against the St. Louis Cardinals, believe that was last Tuesday. So 10 days ago now, since that game, in eight games played, they have scored 15 runs total. So they have scored one more run over their last eight games than they did in that one game against the St. Louis Cardinals. It's been, you know, it's not just like a feast or famine story at this point. It's kind of just a famine story. Over the last week and a half, the Diamondbacks have scored zero or one runs in five of their
Starting point is 00:38:36 past eight games at this point. I need to discuss two things with you, and they're both about Corby and Carroll. First, I saw fantasy websites on Twitter asserting with certainty, asserting with certainty that they knew Corbyn Carroll was hurt. Have you heard anything about Corbyn Carroll being hurt, injured, sore, anything in regards to that? I am not, no, and I'm sure people will continue to suspect that. It does happen from time to time, right? A guy is sort of inexplicably struggling. A really good player in this case is inexplicably struggling.
Starting point is 00:39:17 And then they hit the injured list. And it's like, oh, well, they, you know, of course they were struggling. They'd been dealing with this behind the seeds for however many weeks. But as far as we know, that's not the case with Corvin Carroll. Toro Lavello has dismissed the shoulder conversation numerous times at this point. And he doesn't look hurt. I don't think, right? I mean, he looks healthy as far as I can tell.
Starting point is 00:39:41 He just, the bat quality just hasn't really been there. And Toro Lavello made that comment after Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, where he felt like day one of Corby and Carroll getting back to himself was even a couple days prior to that. But that's not really what we saw today. Carol was still chasing some pitches up in the zone. Granted, Dylan sees as a very, very good starting pitcher. But, you know, tonight was more of the same for him, for sure. How much of a disaster would it be if they sent Corby and Carol down?
Starting point is 00:40:14 The biggest disaster ever. The biggest disaster of all time. I mean, the disaster is that Corbyn Carroll is not hitting at the big league level right now, right? I don't necessarily view it as a disaster to send him down or, you know, whatever the action after that would be. The disaster is that Corbyn Carroll is, you know, supposed to be the best player on this team or at least one of the best players. And he just hasn't been able to do that up to this point in the season.
Starting point is 00:40:43 So I'm still pretty skeptical of the Diamondbacks sending Corbin Carroll down. I think we're still probably away from that. But, you know, I mean, I came in with a 547 OPS. It only went down today and Diamondbacks are going to need him
Starting point is 00:41:00 to return to forms to get where they want to get to this year. I just want to say that they shouldn't send him down. They shouldn't send him down and they won't send him down. I'll say that right now. They will not send Corby and Carol down. But I would like, I would bet on Corbyn Carroll figuring out whatever's going on long before the team would seriously consider sending him down for sure there
Starting point is 00:41:24 there also who do you replace them with who do you get uh yes to to have i mean we've talked about his defense as much as damon thinks he's awful uh he's still you know able to do gordon carroll is a once you get alec thomas back corbin carroll is a much better right fielder than payvon smith i mean i think we can all oh yeah we saw that tonight, Jesse. We viewed it with our own goddamn eyes. So, yeah, we know what you're talking about. I never argue that.
Starting point is 00:41:56 I just have argued that given how good Corbyn Carroll is at this sport, his defensive output is not good enough. And I feel like I was proven right, given our conversation, Jesse. You can, you can attest to that, I feel like. I refuse to go down this road again. Don't do it. Don't do it. We're not in the broadcast.
Starting point is 00:42:14 We've already proven Damon's a liar, right? We know Damon is a known liar based on things that he said in the show. Of course, there are some accusations and things floating around that I'm also a liar, but we know the numbers don't lie. So let's take a look at Jesse's numbers from today's game. Jesse, what do you got for us? Yeah, today's number is 63, and 63 represents the number of pitches that the Diamondbacks through in the fourth and fifth innings of this game.
Starting point is 00:42:43 And that's after Slade Saccone, if you're 41 to get to the third. first three frames, right? He was really sharp. He was efficient. Nine up, nine down. But yeah, Slade himself through 31 pitches in the fourth inning. Honestly, I wasn't totally sure he was going to make it through that inning. Not because of his total pitch count, but just his pitch count within the inning was getting
Starting point is 00:43:04 so high and he still hadn't gotten out, you know, like fairly deep into that inning. There was a walk. There was a couple of homers. There was another walk. He still didn't have an out at that point. So things weren't looking particularly good for him there. was able to work out of the inning and get back out there and get the first out of the fifth. But yeah, they made him work hard.
Starting point is 00:43:24 And, you know, credit to the Padres for putting up some really good at bats in both of those innings. Jerks and ProFar in particular, I believe it was a nine-pitched bat in the fourth, an eight-pitched bat in the fifth. I might have those backwards. But either way, so 17 pitches in his two at-bats in those two innings. And as I discussed on the record with my guest Sam Levitt earlier in the day, Jerks and ProFARs really come on strong this year for the Padres.
Starting point is 00:43:50 It's not a guy you necessarily view as being a great player at this stage in his career, but he had some really, really good at bats out of the lead off spot today. Well, Jesse, we are going to go ahead and go on top of your numbers and say that those two innings are going to get our OG's performance to forget. That's right. Makes sense. It definitely makes sense because I don't ever want to remember those ittings as long as I live.

Starting point is 00:46:39 Last minute tickets, lowest price guaranteed. Well, we do have some video here from the Clubhouse. I think we'll kick things off with Tori Lavello's opening statement from his post-game press media availability. Here's what Tori had to say. It was real good for that first time around and then just needed to make some adjustments once they, I think they figured out his attack plan. I think there's a correlation. This is a coaching thought. I've been sitting in a dugout for a long time.
Starting point is 00:47:13 We made two pitch. We made two outs on two pitches in the bottom of the third inning. I think the entire length of Slade's rest, including the time in between the inning, it was probably about five minutes. So even though he was cruising, it was a quick hurry up offense to get back out there. So those are the little things that bother me.
Starting point is 00:47:35 We've got to be better at. That was Tori, on the difference between Slade's first three innings and then the fourth and fifth, obviously. Yeah, and that was an interesting point that he made where he was talking about the diamond backs in the bottom half of the third inning. It was, I think, 8, 9-1 due up in the lineup. Corbyn Carroll let off that inning flew out to left on the first pitch.
Starting point is 00:47:58 Blaise Alexander followed him up with, I believe, ground ball, a ground out to the shortstop, also on the first pitch. And so you had, you know, you were two pitches into that bottom of the third, and you've already got two outs up on the board. Paven Smith had a five-pitched bat to finish that inning. But still, a very, very quick showing for the diamond. back's offense in the bottom of the third and it didn't give slade sacconi much time to really sit down and catch his breath at all and troy lovelo there is wondering you know did that kind of
Starting point is 00:48:26 shake his rhythm a little bit i think it's a reasonable proposition for sure he also discussed uh his past comments on slade struggling to maintain his stuff yeah this is what torrey had to say about that i know i've been on record saying saying that right it's usually two times through the order and then the stuff kind of settles in a little bit. But he's been spoiling us, spoiling me as I'm watching him. I saw a drop off in Velo, his last outing,
Starting point is 00:48:55 and then climbed up to 95 in the middle of his last inning. So I feel like he needs to continue to show us he's able to do that. But I was aware of that. There were some misses. There were some high misses that told me that maybe he wasn't able to land his pitches. And I saw the velocity, and that's when I got up the reliever moment to come into the game.
Starting point is 00:49:15 So I was on it with you. But Slay's been throwing the ball good. He's been going more than two times around. He went deep into the third time around his last outing. And he's earning that. And I want him to continue earning. But tonight, it just didn't get done. It has to be difficult for a starting pitcher to have to, you know,
Starting point is 00:49:38 go back out there as quickly as Slade had to tonight with how bad the Diamondbacks offense was at times, especially in that inning where they got two outs on two pitches from Dylan Cs. Like it was an incredibly quick turnaround at times. And it has to be, I mean, not only does it have to impact your stamina, but it just has to kind of impact your mental state, having to go back out there before you've even had a chance to finish your little tiny paper cup of water. Yeah, I mean, credit the offense in the first couple of innings,
Starting point is 00:50:12 the debacks didn't do much. in the first two innings against Dylan Cease. I think Coutel Marte just had the double in the first inning. But I believe they saw 42 pitches in the first two innings of this game against Dylan Sees. It's just the rest of the way. Cise was really locked in and super efficient. And they just weren't able to maintain that throughout the course of this game.
Starting point is 00:50:32 But going back to that earlier point of Slade, potentially struggling in the fourth, due to how quick that bottom of the third was in particular, we asked Slade about that after the game and here's what he had to say. I knew it was a quick inning. I was sitting down for about a minute. But that's baseball, man. That's what, you know, really good pitchers do. They go out there and they roll innings quick and they make you work hard and good teams
Starting point is 00:51:00 put together good at bats after those, you know, first step out of that ending was eight pitch walk to pro far where I threw some, you know, good pitches that he, you know, had some good takes on. And they just, they work, they work some counts. They made me work really hard in that inning. I certainly don't want to go out there and look fatigued. I didn't feel crazy fatigued, but I definitely think that my command wasn't where it needed to beat that inning, and it showed.
Starting point is 00:51:32 Yeah, I think he summed it up nicely. And he's so eloquent when he speaks about his performance is good and bad. What an honest man. Yeah, I mean, he wore it. He wore it. And I like that. I like that about Jordan Montgomery. the other night, Jordan Montgomery wore it.
Starting point is 00:51:49 You know, these starting pitchers, they have to wear it. But at the same time, too, you also have to feel like, you know, deep down inside saying, well, our offense didn't do shit. So what does it matter? Right? Like, yeah, I was going to say. It could have been brilliant tonight. We would have still lost the game.
Starting point is 00:52:04 I'm brutally honest for him because he's not going to be the one to say it. But our offense stinks. And it needs to pull its head out of its ass for us to actually be a decent baseball team. Well, yeah. And that's fair. And he was also asked. we don't have the video of this, but he was asked with the way the offense is going right now, do you know, do you feel a little more pressure out there to really be perfect?
Starting point is 00:52:25 Because you're just not getting a whole lot of run support. And he gave, you know, the right answer if you're a pitcher in that situation. He talked about how even though the offense isn't going well right now, he's confident there are going to be situations later in the year where the offense is picking him up on days where he doesn't have his best stuff. So he gave the, you know, the so-called. right answer in that in that situation. Yeah, he's good.
Starting point is 00:52:50 He's a good interview for sure. He's got it all figured out. But you know deep down inside that it has to. It has to impact them. It has to, especially when you start getting through three innings and it's tied zero, zero, right? You know, you start thinking like, oh, man, the offense does not look good today, you know, and I don't know.
Starting point is 00:53:11 I can imagine that you still have to just go out. out and take care of your business, especially when you're a pitcher, right? That is literally none of your concern any longer. What they do on that side of the ball, your job is to just go out there and pitch. So I could also see how it might be easier to compartmentalize it and put those thoughts, you know, kind of a way, just worry about what you need to do. But Benjamin Hunley has a super chat here. Thank you so much, Benjamin, for your super chat.
Starting point is 00:53:43 He says, perfume keeps saying it's just that Carol. can't hit that inside pitch. Is it as simple as that? I mean, I've also heard that Carol can't hit high pitches. I mean, you can't keep saying he can't hit these pitches, right? I think it,
Starting point is 00:54:02 yeah, I think it is both pitches high and pitches inside. I think today, if you look at the pitches that Carol saw, in particular, he saw a lot of pitches up in the zone today. I feel like there weren't quite as many inside, but almost everything was up in the zone
Starting point is 00:54:16 for sure or well above the zone really and he had a hard time laying off those pitches and if you're carol in that situation i guess on some level you have a choice to make of either i'm going to overcome this weakness that opponents have identified and figure out how to hit these pitches or i am just going to lay off all of them as best as i can and today he really wasn't laying off of them And I don't know if that's because he's chosen to try to continue to be aggressive and really turn a corner and make better contact against those pitches. Or if, you know, Dylan Cs just has really good stuff. When he throws you a high fastball and you're maybe thinking slider, it's really, really hard to lay off that pitch. So, yeah, I don't think it's quite as simple as that.
Starting point is 00:55:02 I'm sure that there's more to it. But that is the most easily identifiable thing, at least for, you know, people like us who don't have at least I don't have a detailed understanding of hitting mechanics and everything that goes into that. But it is, yes, it is easy to identify the pitches up in the zone. It's backed up by numbers. I was looking at that earlier today. He's seeing more pitches upstairs. He's seeing more pitches inside and upstairs than he has in past years.
Starting point is 00:55:33 And his numbers against those pitches are also worse than they've been in the past. Nicholas Grutter says 15 runs in our last eight games. and eight of those came in two of those eight games. Thank you for chat. And yes, that's gross. These guys stink. They stink right now. I bet they would be the first ones to admit that they stink right now.
Starting point is 00:55:55 Because even in that walk-off win, it felt like they got very lucky. And I don't know what to think about the fact, Jesse, that Dylan Cese is an amateur beekeeper during the off-season. That still bothers me. I don't know what to do with that information. I don't know how it comes full circle. back to those bees ending up at Chase Field the other night. But I feel like, I feel like there's some, it's suspicious.
Starting point is 00:56:19 It's suspicious to me. This man's a beekeeper and bees ended up at our field. When the Dodgers were here, they were trying to take us both out at the same time. I don't like what's going on at all with this Dylan C's fella and his mustache and those bees. Yeah, I don't have a, you know, a whole lot to add to that. but I will say on a more nerdy baseball note, the diamond packs have struggled in recent days against top-notch starting pitching, right?
Starting point is 00:56:50 And granted, it is top-notch starting pitching. A lot of teams because that is what it is. But the way that they performed against CIS today, the way that they performed against Yamamoto on Wednesday, what Logan Gilbert and George Kirby did to them over the weekend, what we saw Logan Webb do to them out in San Francisco. I guess the debacks did get to Blake Snell, but he wasn't exactly pitching all that well going into that start.
Starting point is 00:57:18 So it's been a problem. I mean, this is something that the team seemed to be actually pretty good at down the stretch last year, particularly in the playoffs. We saw the debacks get to Corbyn Burns. We saw them get to Freddie Peralta. We saw them get to Clayton Kershaw and a lot of other very good starting pitchers in the playoffs so far this season those guys just have looked very comfortable against this debacks offense and have been able to execute their game plans at a really high level so that was
Starting point is 00:57:47 another another point of conversation after this one tory kind of balancing out tipping his hat to those guys and tipping his hat to d'n c's for an outstanding performance today but also knowing if if the debacks want to get are going to get where they want to get this season they're going to have to be able to figure out a Dylan C. or Yamamoto or some of these upper echelon starters every now and then. Well, it doesn't get any easier, Jesse, because the San Diego Padres
Starting point is 00:58:14 reportedly have acquired Louisa Rize from the Miami Marlins. That is the 2022 AL batting champion and 2012-23 NL batting champion now being added to a ridiculously potent Padres
Starting point is 00:58:32 offense that lost one Soto but now gets Luis Arise where I don't even know where he's going to play. So he's just going to D.H. Are they all going to take turns being infielders? Like, what's going to happen there? He's kind of a bad defender. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:45 Okay. So, yeah, you just deach him then at that point. Yeah. Just even better. My God. Well, Tori, say the line, I guess, if you don't mind. Yeah, I wish the best players would quit coming to the NOS. That's what the first thing is, right?
Starting point is 00:59:02 Yeah, that's absolutely. the truth, Tori. That's what we wish to. We absolutely wish that. It's funny because that, I believe that comment originally was in response to the Lodry's acquiring, wasn't it cease? No, it was cease. I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty sure that was the original one. That one was about there was. There is another one that we have from like a week later, which I think I asked about Blake Snell and he gave a similar comment. But yeah, that one was from the five years getting Dillon C's who of course was pretty darn good against against the devax tonight so yeah it's it's crazy man i mean it's one thing for the the padres to get louisa rise in in the year 2024 i'm not
Starting point is 00:59:46 super shocked by that it's a player that they've reportedly been interested in for a long time but to land a rise on may 3rd yeah like what the hell doing here marlins are done they're literally cooked the marl this is a hard And I don't, granted, I don't know the prospects that they're getting in return in detail, but at least from what I've seen initially from people who really know what they're talking about online, they don't seem to be super impressed with the Marlins return there. And if that's the case, I mean, I guess the Marlins really like these guys. Maybe, you know, maybe they'll prove to have been very worthwhile. But to trade Luis Arise, one of your better trade chips this early in the process and, you know,
Starting point is 01:00:31 not go through the kind of bidding war process that you can create at the trade deadline. It's a pretty questionable move, at least in my mind. Well, it's nothing but bad news. But before we get out of here, we are going to give you one piece of positive Diamondbacks organizational news. And that is that Davidson Delos Santos was named the Texas League player of the month. his 376 batting average was second in the league along with his 18 runs and 18 rBI he also finished third and slugging with a 682 slugging percentage and a 1.112 OPS he was fourth and on base percentage with 430 OBP so davis st. Delo Santos is back folks and i mean considering he's a player that the diamondbacks almost lost to the rule 5 draft. It's really just delightful to have him performing the way he is. And I say, call him up. Why not? I don't know. Do him a shot. Give anybody. Yeah, De La Sandoz is 20 years old and he's still striking out
Starting point is 01:01:43 maybe a little bit more than you would like at the AA level to be aggressive with him at this point. But yes, the fact that he's hitting almost 400 in AA. I mean, say whatever you will about the hitter-friendly the environment in Amarillo, hitting about 400, that's going to play at any level of the miners. That's pretty impressive stuff. So, yeah, I mean, the guy has otherworldly levels of power. I mean, I think in fan graphs list of top debaX prospects that they just released, they described De Lo Santos as being more comparable to football players than to really anyone in the game of baseball because he's just built like that.
Starting point is 01:02:21 And his raw power, his strength is on that kind of a level. It's just a matter of if he can, if his hit tool can be good enough to tap into that power consistently, especially as he moves up the ladder against AAA pitching and eventually against Major League pitching. But there's a world, Derek, where you can imagine a world in which Davis and Delos Santos is a cleanup hitter at the big league level and hitting a whole bunch of home runs. And, you know, that's a, that's a pretty cool thing to think about moving forward. Patrick Wayne collects says, DeLos Santos will save us. God, I hope so. because we need somebody to save us.
Starting point is 01:02:56 And some other encouraging news, I read a tweet that said, Alec Thomas, this is according to Nick Picoro, that Alec Thomas and Paul Seawald could both be back by the Cincinnati Red series, which is May 15th through the 17th, I believe. I see how it is, Derek.
Starting point is 01:03:15 You're just going to use Nick's, Nick Piccoro's reporting over mine. I don't know, as Tori would say, one of you got it out first. And that's the one I read. That's not fair. That's fair.
Starting point is 01:03:28 Nick had me by a few minutes. Yeah, we were sitting in the same interview room. But all jokes aside, yes, Tori Lavello did say that it wasn't quite as quite as confident as I think it had maybe been reported earlier in the day. But assuming that things go well this weekend, Paul Seawald is scheduled to throw in a sim game on Saturday. Alec Thomas, I believe, DH for the Reno Aces tonight, and we'll play in Reno the next couple of days as well.
Starting point is 01:03:58 If those things all check out, Tori said they're targeting a return for both of them, you know, potentially early in the Red Series. So yes, I think it is reasonable to think that they could both be back on Tuesday of next week, as long as they're able to check these last few boxes this weekend. Our savior and our young king returning, we need them. We need as many bodies back as we can get.
Starting point is 01:04:21 So get me him in center field. Yeah, immediately. Immediately. Well, we thank you guys for joining us. That's all we got for tonight. We can't. Granted, the Diamondbacks don't play on Monday anyway. But we just, we just need to get away from the office and thinking about this. Corbett. Corbin needed a day off. We're all trying to take a day off.
Starting point is 01:05:32 Damon has to work a helpful, though. No, no, no, I'm taking it off too. Boy, should we make a road trip out of this? Oh, maybe a little Healer River Resorts and Casinos trip. Damon, how dare you bring? Cinos. How dare you bring Derek into this day? Oh, now we're talking.
