Starting point is 00:00:00 As the Arizona Diamondbacks prepare to take on their rival Colorado Rockies, we have more to discuss about this offense and the lack of production in 2026. Plus, the CBA negotiations have begun, and hopefully we will have baseball in 2027. We're talking about all of this right now. Don't you go anywhere. Into another edition of the PHNXDback podcast, Be Okay, presented by our friends at Circle K. It is I, your mayor of PHNX. Cable to have you guys here and thrilled to be talking a dozen as bad as it's been this year.
Starting point is 00:00:55 We're going to talk about that. I am not alone. I got my dog, your dog, everyone's dog, Damon Dog, aka Damon Farrell on the ones and Tuesday. And he is still not over what happened last night. I'm still not over what happened last night. We're going to talk about that too. But this is the PHNXTBACs podcast presented by our friends of Bet365, Bet365, where winning is everything. Download the app today and use that code of PHNXNXTNX.

Don't even get Damon started on Arlington.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Hellhole. It's just, it's so weird. And so far away from Dallas. But anyway, let's talk about it. Diamondbacks, like I said, lose two out of three here to the Rangers. They drop to 20 and 22 on the season. And quite frankly, a lot of the struggles and the reason why they have 22 losses this year has been their offense. But let's take a look at the numbers overall from this series because, again, it paints kind of a picture here that the Diamondbacks didn't lose by a lot.
Starting point is 00:02:18 They probably should have won two out of three, considering what happened in the ninth inning last night. However, you could also argue from the Rangers perspective that the Rangers should have swept the Diamondbacks. So no matter what camp you're in, this series was close and felt like it could have gone either way as far as either team winning it. Or, you know, like I said, in the case of the Rangers losing game one by a score of one to nothing, they easily could have outscored the Diamondbacks with two runs there and taken all three games of the series. The debacks have been good about not getting swept. Again, the only sweep that they've experienced this season has been against the Dodgers in that opening series. But again, they get outscored here 13 to 10 by the Rangers in the series.
Starting point is 00:03:00 They are out hit 23 to 20. The home runs, the Diamondbacks had one in the series, which we will get to. But that has been a problem for this team. The Rangers had three. So it's not like the difference there is a ton in this three game series. runners in scoring position, the Diamondbacks had plenty of opportunities to score runs in this series. Specifically in yesterday's game where they went three for 16, six for 26 overall in this series, while the Rangers were seven for 16 for a 438 batting average with runners in scoring position.
Starting point is 00:03:34 They didn't have many opportunities, but when they did, they nearly drove in half of those runners that were on base. Diamondback starting pitching ERA was five to the Rangers poultry 1.15. They had kind of a opener situation in game one. Then McKenzie Gore, as we predicted, was outstanding against this left-handed debacks line. Well, as you predicted, I would say, Derek, I'm not going to give myself credit for that. We are a team around here, Damon. Well, it doesn't feel like we're a team when I'm taking, you know, bullets for Ildamaro Vargas on a daily episode of each podcast. That's fair.
Starting point is 00:04:10 That's fair to say. That's fair to say. I'm not. No, no, no, you're not. I'm definitely not. certainly you make me wear it. Yeah. In fact. Right. Right, right, right. Well, and you're just helping making me look smart by telling me I predicted that McKenzie Gore was going to rock. No, because that's the type of leader that I am. Right. That's the type of leader in the locker
Starting point is 00:04:27 room that I want to be. Right. I get it. I get it. See, I told you he still wasn't over last night's loss. And you can hear both the pain and the anger in his voice. I have no idea what you're talking about. Really pitching ERA. 3.52 for the debacks, even though Paul Seawall blue last night's game there in the ninth inning, bottom of the ninth inning. Still pretty good considering all things. Rangers 6.35, not very good for them. But overall here, this was a tough series loss. And the Diamondbacks, again, moved from this into a 13-game stretch against National League West divisional opponents that should define truly what this team is. Right? But what they are right now.
Starting point is 00:05:11 now is they are a mediocre team with a bad offense. We got Mark in the chat says pitching is still the issue, but I think we all expected that more than the offense dropping so much. And like I will agree that pitching is the issue. However, it feels like from last season that pitching was a dumpster fire collectively, right? We had Merrill Kelly, who was good. You had Ryan Nelson, who was good. Those two guys were consistent.
Starting point is 00:05:41 pretty much throughout the year, but outside of that, there was no consistency in both the starting rotation and the bullpen. I would argue that outside of a few outliers, right, if you, and I know we're not going to, right, but if you subtracted the earned runs from James McCann's several pitching performances, Joe Ross and Taylor Rashi, I feel like right there, that changes this bullpen ERA in the statistics to being in the top half of Major League Baseball. You could say that about a lot of teams, though, which is.
Starting point is 00:06:11 very true because a lot of teams have had bad performances from one or two pitchers. Take away the three worst and all of a sudden they look pretty good. Sure. But really when it comes to the starting pitching this year, you feel like the guys that you couldn't count on last year are the guys you truly can count on. Now, Ryan Nelson still remains good. He put up a season high yesterday in both innings pitched and strikeouts. And you feel confident about Nelly. But again, it feels like the pitching when Corbyn Burns returns could be a much. you know, a very consistent one through five rotation. And then you feel similar about AJ Puck and Justin Martinez eventually returning to this bullpen to pair with the complementary pieces that have been working up to this point as relievers.
Starting point is 00:06:56 I don't know who's going to go, but I do feel like the margins are going to be thin. Like I've said in the past, I do think that the numbers are going to be very close in regards to who stays and who goes. I wouldn't be surprised if things like minor league options and such, you know, you know, factor in. But again, it feels like especially over the last two weeks that the starting pitching has been incredibly good, especially since Tori's little meeting with the starters, right? But no, Mark, again, Mark is saying 23rd in starter ERA. Fine. I'm not saying that that's vastly improved, but also the Diamondbacks got, what, seven quality starts over the last week. Every
Starting point is 00:07:39 pitcher that has performed for the Diamondbacks in the rotation, besides that Gallen has been able to deliver a quality start. Ryan Nelson, three quality starts in a row. The starting pitching is not the problem, nor is the relief, the relievers. I will say that five runs yesterday should have been enough to win the finale of this game, but the offense has struggled consistently all season long. And when you look at them as a group, as a team where they rank amongst other teams in Major League Baseball, there's not really a single offensive category, that they are good at this season, that they are in the top half
Starting point is 00:08:13 or even close to league average in. And I don't know, man. When you take a look at some of these numbers, it's eye-opening. I know that we've talked about Cotel Marte struggling. I know we've talked about Geraldo Perdomo struggling, but realistically, this is a starting lineup that if your name isn't Ildemar Bargis,
Starting point is 00:08:35 or probably at this point, Nolan Arnott. Yeah, that's the crazy. You have underperformed. Yeah. So it's everybody. I'm not going to. And, you know, Corbyn Carroll's been pretty good over the course of the entirety of the season as well. It's just been a little bit of a downturn recently, but he doesn't get to wear the offensive struggles.
Starting point is 00:08:53 100%. 100%. But still, though, Damon, I mean, you got to admit that I think there's a shocking lack of power with this team right now. Yes. And that's the, and that was like the thing that like they were trying to sell us on like, well, they were so swing and miss last year. we need less home runs or like or nothing type of offense.
Starting point is 00:09:11 And I was like, well, that offense was kind of like the best offense in the league. So I don't know if we really needed to switch things up so much. You're right. Well, and again, I know that like here's the thing. Gino Suarez and Josh Naylor added so much to this team as far as power-wise. But still, without those guys, this team did not struggle offensively in the second half after the trade deadline last year. like they are now. Now this is bad.
Starting point is 00:09:39 And again, when you talk about looking at the lineup, yeah, Corbyn Carroll is hitting 263 with an 860 OPS. You might want to see, you would love to see both of those numbers a little higher, like his average over 275 and his OPS over 900, and then you would feel like you could say confidently, Corbin is not at all the problem. I will still say that, though,
Starting point is 00:09:59 because yesterday, the other day was a perfect example of that. When Corbyn was able to go over three, or excuse me, three walks in, yesterday's game and then have that hit. Like that's, that's what we want out of Corbyn at times. And you're not going to necessarily get the power hitting, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:15 outfielder that he was last year. But Corbyn on base is a very good thing for this team. I'm sorry, his average is up to 266 and with an 881 OPS. So again, Corbyn, probably one of the only guys besides Vargas. And again, Nolan Arnato, Aronado hitting 274 with a 781 OPS.
Starting point is 00:10:34 I hope he goes in and like absolutely. slaughters the Rockies this weekend just for fun, just for funsies, right? But this offense, when I say it's struggling, let's take a look at the numbers overall here for this offense and where they currently sit at, right? I don't have that graphic ready to go. No, that's fine. I do have these ranks that were posted by John Anderson here on Twitter in regards to Catelle Marte, and he's putting out the luckiest hitters and unluckiest hitters and luckiest hitters. and pitchers of this season so far. And none other than Cotell Marte Rinks
Starting point is 00:11:11 as the unluckiest hitter in baseball. Literally the unluckiest hitter in baseball. When you take a look at the difference between his expected stats and his actual stats, it's insane. His expected Wobah is 345 with his actual Wobah being 278. That's a weighted on base average. His slug, expected slug, 458, actual slug 364, expected batting average, 287, real batting average, 208.
Starting point is 00:11:42 And look, I understand that there's a lot of people out there that are baseball traditionalists that don't really love the expected stats. But this definitely tells a lot about Catele. His hard hit percentage is incredible. Even when he is hitting the ball 110 miles per hour, it somehow is right at a defender. These are all things that the only thing you can hope about with Cotel Marte is literally that he keeps doing exactly what he's doing. But that's hard. That is hard when you're going 0 for 4 and 0 for 5.
Starting point is 00:12:15 You get frustrated. You don't want to keep doing the thing you're doing. You want to change something. But there is almost nothing that Cotel literally needs to change at this point. It's just where the ball lands. And this is why baseball is so stupid sometimes. But this is why those expected stats are very important. when it comes to a player struggles.
Starting point is 00:12:33 Kattel is the first guy, I think we look to right now to say, man, he is kind of the leader of the offensive issues right now. And not only that, but of course, with the trust that the Diamondbacks have in him, he's going to continue to hit at the top of the lineup. He's going to hit first or second no matter what for the rest of the year. And if he struggles there, then you just feel like the Diamondbacks are, you know, kind of behind the eight ball right away in a game. But Kattel was two for four yesterday.
Starting point is 00:12:59 He has raised his batting average to 2.15. with a 638 OPS, and again, you just feel like if Catelle keeps doing what he's doing, these balls that he's hitting 105, 110 miles per hour, are eventually going to drop and not constantly land in the glove of a defender. Right? But the offensive struggles for this team go far beyond Cattel. It is the entire team. And when I say that, I mean from top to bottom.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Their offensive woes are in every statistical category. Their team OPS is tied for 24th in baseball at 686. currently. Bad. Bad. Team batting average, 234, tied for 19th. Team RBI,
Starting point is 00:13:40 173, tied for 19th. Stolen bases, 21, tied for 21st. Team runs, scored, 179, tied for 23rd. Team on base percentage, 299,
Starting point is 00:13:56 tied for 26th in baseball. And this one was actually surprising to me, Damon, Because home runs, they have 37 as a group, that is 24th. I would have thought at 37 that they would have been dead last, honestly. But apparently when you look across baseball, there are offensive struggles everywhere. So the Diamondbacks are not the only team that are struggling with these numbers and with their offense. Pitching is very good right now.
Starting point is 00:14:23 And offense isn't. But other teams don't have a problem generating this offense, including the Rockies, who the Diamondbacks take on. they didn't have any problem taking on the pirates just now in the same way the diamondbacks had their struggles with Pittsburgh and again this team still seems broken offensively since that series with the white socks and i don't understand how that happened but there isn't a savior on their way that's the thing that for the position players that we have to keep in mind there there really isn't a position player coming to save this offense back from injury you have Carlos santana pavon smith and jose Jordan Lawler, folks. Jordan Lawler probably being the best of those three that could actually give you something offensively and perhaps be a game changer when it comes to his bat being back in the lineup.
Starting point is 00:15:13 But Carlos Santana, the subject of an argument or two around here, was nearing his return to the active roster when he felt apparently a twinge in the adductor again. This happened on May 9th, while on a rehab assignment with AAA Reno and is being reavis. evaluated.
Starting point is 00:15:32 So there's a good chance that Carlos Santana might not return to this roster. There's a chance. And when that day comes, I don't look forward to Damon's reaction to all of that. Yeah, that's not going to be a good day for you, Derek. But this is due to injury and this isn't due to him playing poorly. However, this is due to injury, not him playing poorly. I think it's due to both, which was kind of always my point of like, I think if he's not a, not terrible when he did play, then he like would maybe be traded with a little bit more.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Well, I will also say that he has been just to back up Damon's case, even though you know I don't want to do that. He's been equally terrible in Reno. Hey, maybe this is ethical hoops today on this podcast. I gave you credit for your take, Derek, and now, you know, you can, you can kind of give the flowers back. For sure. But I will say that Santana has struggled in Reno. So I think it was what, like two, two for 24 at a major league level. I think it was three for 25 in Reno. He did have a home run, but like that's the
Starting point is 00:16:33 that's the best that he did while he was down there. So again, strain, righted doctor, back to being strained and his delay is unknown as far as the time table on him. Good news on Justin Martinez, as far as an injury update is concerned, he underwent,
Starting point is 00:16:50 or he threw his first bullpen session post-surgery on May 8th, and according to Tori Lobolo, touch 99 miles per hour. Hell yeah. dudes will see this and say hell yeah yeah dudes will see that definitely say hell yeah but again as far as position player updates are concerned payman smith um could take some dry swings this week which means he uh will be on his way back soon but he was on the 60 day iL dating back to march 30th so the earliest that paven could come back is in june right so there's a good chance that that won't happen uh same thing with jordan lawler now payvin smith is
Starting point is 00:17:28 still to be determined as far as when his expected return date is. So they are still not putting any kind of timetable on that. Meanwhile, Jordan Lawler, he does have an expected return date of June. And he is probably the most important of these three position players that could make an impact. Obviously, as you guys know, he was hitting his right wrist with a pitch on April 2nd.
Starting point is 00:17:50 His 60-day I-L stint dates back to April 3rd. So again, the earliest he could return is like June 5th, I believe, is his earliest date. but he is doing as much baseball activity as he can, minus the fractured hand that he could possibly do per Tori Lobolo. So offensively, it's these guys that are here that have to get it together. I do believe Lawler will provide a spark, and perhaps another minor league call-up could be on the horizon
Starting point is 00:18:19 with the way some of those guys are playing as well. I know Gino Groover continues to be unstoppable at the plate. Tommy Troy has a lot of versatility, and he's had himself a good year offensively as well. But these guys, again, I don't think these guys are going to be the game changer that necessarily Corbyn-Berns, Justin Martinez, and AJ Puck are going to be for the pitching staff when those guys return. So let's figure it out.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Let's figure out a way to lower this chase rate as being one of the worst chase rates in MLB, and let's figure out a way to get good at bats and turn this thing around. It does feel like the lack of walks is hurting this team a little bit right now. absolutely in particular yeah you're not wrong about that the lack of walks is a big reason why they're on base percentage is so low in fact here let me take a look I didn't put that one on there but the diamondbacks right now tied for dead last and walks with the los angeles dodgers whoof I mean I don't know if that's the greatest indicator of like lack of success either well the braves also are down there too the braves have 51 walks to the diamond backs have 50 and the dodgers have 50
Starting point is 00:19:26 Yeah. Yankees also 54 walks. Like a lot of the better teams are down here as far as walks are concerned, right? But still, not great for a team that needs those base runners and causes chaos on the base path in order to make things happen. But speaking of chaos, we are going, oh, there we go. We got our, just for you guys to see it in person so that you put a little bit of a visual to it. Yeah, just so you can see how disgusting these numbers are. 24th and home runs. 23rd and team runs. 19th in team RBI, 21st and stolen bases, 24th in OPS, 19th in batting average, 26th, and on base percentage. That's the one that hurts the most. Definitely. That's why I said that. That and stolen bases, man.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Yeah, that's why I came to that conclusion. And then dead last in walks, that ain't going to get it done. Yeah, and as Mark says, the Braves and the Dodgers are probably that low in their walks because they lead the league in average. And that's what I was saying to you yesterday as well. and I guess this goes a little bit against my point here, is that, like, give me the Aldamaro Vargas is who are in Jose Fernandez, who are going to go up there hacking, and I know it doesn't look great at the moment for Jose Fernandez,
Starting point is 00:20:38 but give me the guys who are going to go up there, like wanting to swing the bat and being aggressive over a dude like Pavin Smith who's going to take a million pitches. Like I just, I think that that impacts winning at a higher level, and I'm always up for, you know, being a little bit more aggressive on offense. I know it doesn't really check out in this particular case,
Starting point is 00:20:55 because you're like, wow, the walks are dead last and your average isn't good either. So maybe take a few more walks, but yeah. Well, we got some bad news from Mighty Schumann, and I confirm this right now, according to a tweet from four seconds ago, Mitch Bratt did leave today's Aces game following and awkward. He tried to field a pitch that he fell on his shoulder, resulted in a throwing error. He had a clean outing up until that point, and it has been incredible. so far for the Reno Aces.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Yeah, he's been money. 2.480 R.A coming in today's game. 4.35 FIP 8% walk rate, 25.7% strikeout rate. It was a good chance that we were going to maybe see Mitch Bratt
Starting point is 00:21:40 this year. Hopefully this isn't an injury that keeps them out for too long. Hopefully this is just a temporary thing. But we're going to take a quick break, Damon. On the other side of this break, we are going to talk about the Colorado Rockies being the Diamondbacks rival during rivalry weekend.
Starting point is 00:21:55 believe it or not it's true they're kind of our rival we're going to talk about it don't you go anywhere Does that make us losers? No no See I like that

Get what you need when you need it. The window depot more than just a window store. Well, the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Colorado Rockies over rivalry weekend.
Starting point is 00:24:50 and according to MLB, the Rockies are our rival, and it hasn't been much of a rivalry lately. The Diamondbacks have won 10 of their last 12 series versus the Rockies dating back to 2023, going 27 and 12 over that span. The Diamondbacks have taken four of their last six road series at Coors Field going back to 2023, and they are 10 and 9 in those games as well.
Starting point is 00:25:15 But the Rockies, meanwhile, they are very much like the Sharks, Chicago White Sox. Maybe not as good as the White Sox have been this year, but you just feel like this is a team that was kind of the loser, the lovable loser of Major League Baseball. And now they seem to have at least turned things around a little bit. They've been winning some baseball games, beating some teams that they probably shouldn't be beating. But still not very good as far as record is concerned and some of their statistics. Let's take a look at the Rockies at a glance, who are 17 and 26 this season with a minus 31 run differential. And you had to put Jake McCarthy on that.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Of course. Didn't you? You had to. Who else did I put? Jake McCarthy. That's it. That's the only person. It's rivalry weekend, Derek.
Starting point is 00:26:01 I know. I hate him. He's our enemy now. They are three and seven in their last 10 games. So that's a good thing. Is he still wearing our belt? That's what I'm looking at right there. Is there a little, is that white or teal on that 31 there?
Starting point is 00:26:13 Ooh, Damon. That's a very good question. Now, those belts are very expensive. So I can understand if he had a purpose. Just saying, dude. He had a purple version of that belt. I can understand maybe not replacing it. But nonetheless, they're starting pitching ERA as expected is 521, which is dead last in baseball because of course field.
Starting point is 00:26:33 Team OPS though is 716 and that's what worries me. Offensively, you know, they're 10th in Major League Baseball in OPS. And that is something right now that this Diamondbacks team just quite frankly can't keep up with. They can't. They can't have like a shootout with the Rockies because I don't feel like they're offense right now. is on enough of a role for them to do so. However, this is course field. So perhaps this is the exact thing that the diamondbacks need,
Starting point is 00:26:58 just to get on a roll, to get their offense cooking a little bit. The bullpen ERA for the Rockies 4.34, which is 20th. You might want to say that's bad. But again, Coorsfield and the Diamondbacks bullpen is, ERA is still worse. Outs above average, they have zero, which is tied from 14th. They are literally league average in outs above average.
Starting point is 00:27:19 So their defense is fine. I'm sure it would be above average once again if they weren't playing in that hellhole of a altitude stadium that just sends balls flying known as the course field. Biggest bar in all of Colorado there. I did say to you, Derek, that a tweet yesterday that I saw that cracked me up where it was like the Rockies are just like every time I tune into a Rockies game, a reliever comes in and they say,
Starting point is 00:27:47 here's a guy who throws 102 with a rising fastball and a 93 mile per hour changeup that drops off a chair with a 7.87. With a 686 ERA and, you know, walks more batters than somehow than he strikes out. And it's just like they always constantly have these bullpen guys that are so intriguing. And yet, you know, they really don't have that great of statistics. But part, like you said, part of that probably is just frankly being in Colorado and what that. brings and you know I'm sure they have a lot of bullpen guys that we would be interested in so a hundred percent david 100 but our bullpen i still give them credit i think our bullpen is still really coming around and again they've found some pieces that they can rely on as far as bullpen arms are concerned
Starting point is 00:28:32 uh i just think that everything changes with uh maybe a j puck being in there in that closer role instead of paul seawald and i know a lot of people are mad at paul seawald after last night's game but let's not forget. He was one of three closers in baseball. That was perfect. This is Derek's favorite thing. He loves finding the thing that the fan base is most mad about at that particular time and pushing back against that by being like,
Starting point is 00:28:57 hey, guys, let's be reasonable about this here. I know everybody wants to hear me say, hey, Paul Seawald was nine for nine before going into this game with, you know, an 0 and 3 record. Because every time he came into a game where the game was tied, he gave up like 17 runs. It also wasn't Tori's fault they lost the game.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Let's go on to probable pitchers, Damon, while we're at it. Shout out to 1AZ credit union, of course. They always have us covered for the future. They are rooted in Arizona, and they are rooted in the Diamondbacks pitching staff, for sure. This is a staff, this is a three-man rotation that you feel pretty comfortable about winning a series, right? I mean, we have Merrill Kelly, Eduardo Rodriguez, and Michael Soroka going up. I know that the way that the rotation is split, perhaps if you took Merrill Kelly out and maybe put Ryan Nelson in, that might be the optimal three-man. For sure.
Starting point is 00:29:53 You know, rotation right now at least. However, Merrill pitched extremely good in his last outing. And I'm hoping that he just turned a corner as far as getting back to being the mainstay that we know he is. Merrill Kelly is two and three this season with a 7.62 ERA. he is going up against Kyle Freeland, who's one and four, with a six ERA, 28 strikeouts on the year. But then these other two guys, you got Randy and Kurt going for the Diamondbacks there. Eduardo Rodriguez with his 2.25 ERA. He is 4 and 0 this season with 33 strikeouts.
Starting point is 00:30:27 That's what I want to know. A lot of people. A lot of people. No, not, well, definitely not me. I always believed. Not you. There's no apologies that you need to shoot Edward Ruggra. Fact.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Remember when I wouldn't stop talking about. about that five-game stretch against some of the best teams in the league last year about Erod? Yeah, I do actually. Well, they're going up against the Sugar Hill gang here in Tomoyuki, Shigano. He is 3 and 3 this year with a 4.07 ERA 24 strikeouts and a pitcher. A lot of people there in Colorado are excited about being in their starting rotation. But again, Erod makes you feel good there about game two. And then Michael Soroka has to make you feel pretty good about game three.
Starting point is 00:31:05 I did see piece of Yoshi earlier in the chat talking about. or it might have been Mark talking about the slurve, maybe not working at an high altitude there for Soroka in game three against Michael Lorenzen, who is 2 and 5 this season with a 6.55 ERA, 31 strikeouts. But Soroka, 5 and 2 this year, 3.53 ARA, 47 strikeouts for Soroka. Hopefully, that's not the case. Hopefully the slurve is working for him. That has been an incredibly good pitch.
Starting point is 00:31:35 And in fact, in many of these instances where he's had a pot, aisle of strikeouts, the slurve has been its primary pitch. I mean, Michael Soroka has been godsend for this team. Erod has, I, you know what? Like with EROD, like, obviously I'm pumped up about it. So like, don't get me wrong. But it's almost like what we've gotten from EROD with what we've paid him so far has been so bad.
Starting point is 00:31:57 It's been the worst investment, worst ROI of any signing in baseball recently, I feel like, or it's got to be up there at least. He kind of owes us this stretch. Yeah, I agree. He kind of owes us this stretch. And so we're getting that. It's coming to fruition right now. Soroka, as you said, Derek, was a very, like, value signing in the off season.
Starting point is 00:32:16 What's he making an 8 mil? 7 and 1⁄2. 7.5 mil. I mean, it's, for what you've gotten so far, fantastic, including, you know, a lot of games where, you know, he's been dominant, right? Which have helped you really win the game, whereas, like, his, you know, the losses have kind of balloon that ERA, but the wins have been awesome, incredible starts. So got to be pumped up about that.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Those guys, like you said, I think Ryan with what he showed over the last three games, three starts, I feel more confident in him than Merrill, who, you know, did have a good start last time now. And I want to believe in, but I'm still a little bit, you know, on edge when it comes to Merrill Kelly with how bad he was to start the year that, you know, it wasn't a bit of Fool's gold. So we'll see. Hopefully Merrill can stack a second good start here because, what is the IRA? a 7, 6, 2. Yeah. Doesn't look good. Doesn't look great. Neither does Eduardo Rodriguez's expected stats.
Starting point is 00:33:13 That's something Damon and I've covered, but the guys in the chat are talking about how much blue he has. Everything's kind of sub-average for expected stats other than hard hit percentage. And let's be honest, that's probably the reason why. Erod, you know, was trying to overpower pitchers or batters at times in this season. He's just pitched far more to contact. That's not going to make your stats look. great, but so far, so good as far as the results are concerned.
Starting point is 00:33:40 Hopefully, this doesn't fall off because that's kind of what those expected stats can sometimes tell you about a pitcher. But again, we're going to pay way more attention to Cattel's expected stats than Erods. Our whole rotation's expected stats are. Are bad. Our bad. Except Ryan Nelson, probably. Ryan Nelson's numbers aren't.
Starting point is 00:34:00 They're okay. Ryan Nelson's numbers are a little bit more mediocre. whereas almost everybody else's are like quite below average. Yeah. Don't look at Zach Gallons. Please don't. I don't want to do that. We'll do that.
Starting point is 00:34:13 We don't have to see him this weekend. So let's wait to do that until next week. But this weekend is rivalry weekend, Damon. And is this really our rival? I don't know. I can't think of a better one. Like we're all the Dodgers rival in the NL West. That's what I said yesterday.
Starting point is 00:34:31 The Dodgers aren't our rival. Like we're not the Dodgers biggest rival in their mind. There are times. There are times, but it's a rotating cast of rivals for the Dodgers. Sure. They're like, yeah, they're like Batman from the 60s, right? Where every week it's a new villain, right? With them, they have different rivals all the time.
Starting point is 00:34:46 It does feel like, like, you know, there are times when the Padres are really good, that that's their main rival. Or when the Giants had that year where they won the division a few years ago, that was obviously the Dodgers big rival that year. When the Diamondbacks beat them in 23, we were their rival. Like, I think that it rotates and that's the sad reality of having a team that, is as dominant and spends as much as the Dodgers and it keeps them at the top of the division year in and year out where everybody else is competing with them. Now, I was sorry if I'm pronouncing the Vowson.
Starting point is 00:35:18 602 says our rival is the Rangers, bro. It's not. The Rangers don't see us as their rival. And again, the Rangers have their own thing going on. We should have our own thing and it shouldn't be a, I never think a rival should be between leagues. It should never be an ALNL thing. I don't necessarily feel like it needs to be a division rival, but from this standpoint, that works, right?
Starting point is 00:35:40 So this rivalry, is it our rival? Unfortunately, yes, that's the truth of the matter. It works from several standpoints, and that's just the way that it goes for these two teams. Both teams are relatively babies as far as Major League Baseball is concerned, right? Geographically, we're very close to each other versus the Diamondbacks being close to other teams. Yes, the West Coast teams, but we already determined they have their own threesome thruple. We're closest to the Rockies. I'm sorry, the Rockies are closest to us, I should say.
Starting point is 00:36:08 Right, right. Like, their closest proximity team is us. Yeah, besides, yeah, exactly. San Diego and L.A. are closer for the Diamondbacks, but yeah. You got player crossovers, right? You have Jake McCarthy, as Damon put in the graphic. He is now the enemy. We hate him.
Starting point is 00:36:24 We are against him. And Nolan Arnato, meanwhile, Rocky's legend, he's on our team now doing pretty well. So you have those two guys that both of these teams can, like, boo against. But, you know, really what it comes down to is the 2007 LCS and the 2017 National League wildcard game. Those two things are the big reason why these teams are rivals. Both kind of spoiled each other in a way, right? You had the Diamondbacks won the NL West in 2007. I know people forget that because we got smoked by the Rockies in the playoffs. Yeah, I actually, I went to one of those games. I was obviously very young, but I do kind of forget that we won the division that.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Yeah. Colorado completely dominated that. series. And that sweep still stings people like me for sure. The Rockies swept the Diamondbacks and that was during that legendary Rocktober run to the World Series. Yeah, that was a crazy run. Right. And that's probably the biggest on-field chapter in these two teams history besides. And that's when we like hated them, right? That's when we started to hate the Rockies because they spoiled something that was building into something very special for this team. You could argue that the Diamondbacks might have won a World Series in 2007, but you could only argue.
Starting point is 00:37:35 Didn't they play the Red Sox? They did. They did play the Red Sox and they lost. I will say that I think we probably would have gotten smoke. Probably would have gotten smoked. Yeah, you're probably right about that. But meanwhile, the 2017 National League Wildcard game, the Diamondbacks finished with 93 wins and still ended up as a wildcard team.
Starting point is 00:37:52 Classic. Because the Dodgers won 104 games that year. Colorado, meanwhile, it's an average amount of games basically for the Dodgers. For sure. Like that's not even like like a hundred and four wins season like we'd be there we'd be talking about remember the 100 and four wins season back in 13 hundred for sure and the Dodgers are like sure we've averaged a hundred and four wins per season over the last decade. I mean it's just wild to think about I can't I couldn't imagine being a member of that fan base and trying to lie to people and being like this is actually healthy. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:24 This is a good thing. Well, of course, Arizona led that game six to five. and then the infamous Archie Bradley triple. The only triple in playoff postseason history to ever be hit by a reliever and that will ever be hit by a reliever ever. And that became the Archie Bradley game. Diamondbacks won that one by a score of 11 to 8. And that one was just funny because of the volatility of it
Starting point is 00:38:47 and how that basically became like a course field game right here at Chasefield, right, with the score being 11 to 8 overall. And all of our best pitchers that we, that were fantastic all year, just all being getting rocked whether it was granky whether it was robbie ray whether it was struggled early in that game whether it was archie bradley who gave up runs despite being like an all-star caliber pitcher that season yeah i mean it was it was pretty crazy how much the ruckies ran through the pitching staff there but the debaq's lineup came through and it was the best game i've ever seen in person no question about it if this is a rivalry weekend amen i feel like there should be
Starting point is 00:39:27 stakes, right? There should be consequences. There should be something won. You're very familiar with the territorial cup between ASU and you of A, right? I feel like this rivalry needs something like that. And I think that thing is ownership of the color purple. Whichever team wins the series. We take our chain back.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Yeah. We get our purple jerseys back. Not just the Serbientes won, all of them. Every single one of them, Damon. And then they can just be like the white socks. They can be like black and black. silver. Whatever. I don't care. Whatever stupid thing they want to do, they can get that stupid green color from their license plate and use that. I don't care. Do whatever you do up there. But
Starting point is 00:40:06 hopefully what the Diamondbacks do, score some runs, because that's what we need them to. That's what we need them to. But anyway. I mean that the, I will say that like, I think that rivalries, when it comes to the Diamondbacks, like that we are just kind of in the situation where everyone, everyone in this division hates the Dodgers and that's that. And I think that's natural. and you know what? Like does it speak to the lack of, I guess, postseason success a lot that this franchise maybe has? Maybe. But also it's a really young franchise, right?
Starting point is 00:40:40 Like it's, you know, we've been around for 28 years. It's not like you've had the opportunity to build out these rivalries as much as other teams have. So while you don't really have like a designated rival, you're kind of still in the early processes of building these rivalries out in relation to. to a lot of these other franchises in Major League Baseball that have been around since the 1800s. So like for example, I mean like Philly's fans hate us. They do.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Sure. They do. And then if, guess what? We get them again in a postseason format. We'll make them hate them again. Then then all of a sudden we own them forever. They beat us. Now there's back and forth from that side.
Starting point is 00:41:18 So like I would say that, you know, like, wow, on the one hand, like are we always going to be kind of chasing the Dodgers a little bit? Yeah. And might the Dodgers at times? will they see the Diamondbacks maybe as their main rival? Yeah, but they're more likely than not going to be looking at one of the California teams as their main rival. I think that, you know, it doesn't mean that, you know, you're just some like loser bum franchising. It means that you're just a young franchise.
Starting point is 00:41:42 And so still got to build out rivalries with the, with the Phillies, with the Brewers. How about the Brewers? I hate the Brewers' guts. We get them every postseason run. That's one where I know that the brewers just have bigger fish to fry in there. I don't think the Brewers like us. I mean, they play us all the time. But they, the Cubs are kind of the Dodgers for that area of the country, right?
Starting point is 00:42:06 Cubs have a lot of rivals and it all like lines back to the Cubs for sure. I think the Brewers might be the Cubs biggest rival too. I'm not sure. Those two teams and fan bases hate each other. I'm just saying that like that's another team that like there's like at least like if we, if there's like a bar that's kind of like filling out of like rivalry, like the dynambacks are definitely on the lower end of a lot of teams. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:26 But I think that like. It's because they don't have the history. The Brewers are here. The Phillies are here. The Dodgers are here. And like everybody else is kind of empty underneath at this moment in time. Vazen keeps saying the, the Rangers are, are, I think that that's what he's trying to say here. Oh, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:43 And it's like, I mean, I, I just like, I don't think we play them enough. That's it. I mean, it really does have to be more history. And I know that if we got him in another world series, absolutely. There's no question about it. 100%. 100%. Well, we're going to take a quick break on the other side of this break. We get to talk about CBA negotiations starting.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Yay! Actually, it might be a good thing because we at least here on this podcast need to avoid a 20-27 lockout at all costs. And hopefully, MLB can do the same. We're going to talk about it on the other side of this break. Don't you go anywhere? You're watching the PH&X Diamond Back Show. Damon, Damon, Damon. We finally have Major League Baseball reps and Players Association members meeting for the very first time. This is according to a report from ESPN, top officials from Major League Baseball, as well as Players Association, had a first face-to-face meeting in New York on Tuesday to officially open up the collective bargaining talks. We're just six months away from the expiration of that CBA.
Starting point is 00:45:57 And according to all reports and everybody involved, MLB does intend to pursue a salary cap system of some kind. We don't know what that will look like, but we do know that it's going to be vastly different than this current system that they have put in place where they're simply financially penalizing teams for going into certain tiers of spending instead of having a hard cap that prevents teams from going. over that amount. And overall, the current deal, which came after a 99-day lockout by the league that threatened the beginning of the 2022 season expires on December 1st. If there is no agreement, as we have discussed on this time, about this time and time again, MLB is expected to lock out the players causing a work stoppage that could jeopardize baseball games in 2027.
Starting point is 00:46:51 Should that happen, it's going to become a much bigger deal for Major League Baseball. According to the report, there is plenty of. for the government to get involved. And if they do go to lockout, they are expecting Congress, along with perhaps even Donald Trump, to get involved when it comes to preventing major league baseball from missing regular season games come next spring. Look, I don't, I'm not big on government involvement, but when it comes to preventing Major League Baseball from being locked out, I'm all for it.
Starting point is 00:47:24 Realistically, at the end of the day, this is a, situation where MLB is on pace to generate record revenues and has seen television ratings sore this year. Even with all of my complaints about how poorly they handle their marquee events, baseball is still thriving
Starting point is 00:47:43 right now. And owners, of course, continue to sing the virtues of them not making enough money and needing a salary cap to pay players less. And it's something that Major League Baseball Players Association will resist at all costs, including the loss of baseball games in 2027. Purr sources, the sides outline their views on the changes to the game, noting challenges
Starting point is 00:48:09 they see, and opportunities to use labor negotiations as a tool to move it forward, the game of baseball forward. But overall, it's a good sign that they are trying to get this done. I do think that all parties involve understand the importance of not losing baseball in 27. However, it has been rumored that the two sides are so far apart that I don't foresee it being a thing that they can come together before this, you know, before the season starts. Forget before the CBA expires on December 1st. There is undoubtedly going to be a lockout. It just depends on how long that lockout is going to last. And I mean, look, I, I,
Starting point is 00:48:55 I'm kind of on both sides here because I do feel like what's happening right now with baseball needs to be changed. It needs to be rectified. You just have too much of a discrepancy between the haves and the have-nots. And we've also said on this show that a floor, a salary floor, is absolutely needed, considering how many teams are spending less than the Dodgers spent in salary and penalties He's on Kyle Tucker alone this season. Three-time All-Star Mark Tashara, by the way.
Starting point is 00:49:29 He is a former member of the MLB Players Association Executive Subcommittee. He is expected to win his election in November and represent the 21st District in Texas. So Mark Tashira will most likely play a huge role in these negotiations should this CBA situation get to a point where Congress and the government get involved. But Mark says here in the chat, I'd be very surprised that the lockout is long. Feels like they don't anymore. There's less labor action in general. And also there's much more money in baseball. It incentivizes getting it working.
Starting point is 00:50:08 He's absolutely right. There's absolutely no reason why this entire, you know, situation shouldn't be not only a priority for both sides, but worked out by both sides prior to the loss of games. time. Like I said, there's too much stuff going on in the world right now. There's too many forms of entertainment and baseball right now is kind of experiencing a renaissance due to the changes they made to the game that has improved the overall time of games that makes them more watchable and has new fans interested, you know, more than ever. And you could say that the ABS system also has felt like it's taken a lot of the complaints about umpiring out of the game and made things seem more fair. So overall,
Starting point is 00:50:52 baseball has been progressing in a very positive direction as far as attracting new fans, retaining old fans, and just making the game a more pleasant experience for anybody, no matter what their interest of level in the game is. But a work stoppage that loses significant portions of the 2027 season would completely like reverse so much of that progress that they've made and cause a lot of people to lose interest in this game and MLB in general. So hopefully they can figure it out, but we will continue to report on any kind of major updates that happen because this is the most important story in baseball, even though I will be the first to admit it's not very interesting. It's just much people
Starting point is 00:51:38 negotiating about money and how much money people will pay and how much money they'll make billions of dollars being decided and argued about. And a lot of it, we have no idea how much any of is actually being made because owners don't have to tell us any of that. So we will keep you updated on that. But we're going to take a quick break on the other side of this break. It is Throwback Thursday. We haven't done that in a while. We're going to talk about some things that happened this week in DeBacks history,
Starting point is 00:52:05 as well as give a shout out to one of our favorite diehards. We're going to do that on the other side of this break. Don't you go anywhere. You're watching the PHA next time in Beck Show. I'm not allowed to touch that bottle apparently, not even the box without putting on these white gloves. You're damn right. Thanks for learning your lesson from yesterday.
Starting point is 00:52:24 Yeah, this guy over here, he's too fancy. I had to reprimand Derek after we got off the show. He might be right, though. That's a very special bottle. And that's a very special box. Derek was like, that was a really good show, Damon. And I was like, shut up, Derek, you touch the bottle. I don't want to talk to you.
Starting point is 00:52:38 So, man, I mean, I didn't touch the bottle. Again, see the accusations that he's making. I would never touch that bottle. That's a sacred bottle in there. That is the icon. That is the trophy. That is for legends on and off the field. Am I a legend on and off the field?
Starting point is 00:52:50 Probably not. Probably not, but I am an icon, and they also have a version for icons as well. But no matter what version of bottle, you are looking to sport, you must make it a Don Julio 1942 for the few, for the proud, for the ones that love tequila. Whether it's the biggest sporting event in the world that comes to our backyard with the FIFA World Cup coming around, toast with the icon of celebration Don Julio 1942, especially here during the 2026 World Cup with bottles made to raise. They have three iconic bottles, including the original,
Starting point is 00:53:26 which is just the icon of celebrations. This beautiful bottle, I'm not even going to open the box of until Damon and I win it. That's the trophy. That's for legends, like I said, on and off the field. They even make a mini made for iconic moments, but everyone can take home a trophy of Don Julio 1942. And of course, these bottles honor the artistry of tequila making.
Starting point is 00:53:45 A symbol is timeless as the beautiful game itself and inspired by the FIFA World Cup trophy. From stadiums to street parties, this release is close at the heart of culture and where football fashion and flavor all collide. It's made for those who move the moment forward, turning every celebration into a legacy. Whether you're at your favorite spot
Starting point is 00:54:03 or stocking up for home, make it a Don Julio, 1942. And you know that moment when you lost your favorite pairs of sunglasses. It's a moment of dread. It's a moment of sadness. Maybe even a moment of panic when you go back looking for them at the last place you were. Honestly, I feel like the worst human alive when I lose my sunglasses because I'm like, I just bought those for an exorbitant amount of money, but not with my friends at ShadyRex. No, they won't cost you a bunch of money up front. They have amazing frames that make your face look beautiful, polarized lenses that will protect your eyes from the sun.
Starting point is 00:54:34 And most importantly, the craziest lost and broken replacement plan in all of eyewear, shady race tells us, and I can I can confirm this considering how many times I've used it that they will replace your shady race sunglasses. even on day one should you lose or break them. No questions asked, no guilt. Damon's only putting guilt on himself, but it's not coming from the fine folks at ShadyRase because Shady Raises is eyewear that has your back. Go to Shadyrays.com and use code PHNXSR for 50% off two or more pairs of polarized sunglasses.
Starting point is 00:55:08 And Damon, we got ourselves a little bit of a diehard spotlight going on. And honestly, I don't know because of the limited information we were provided in our Google spreadsheet, if this is our guy Jason J. Army Strong A.Z. Or if this is another Jason. But we are giving a shout out to our guy, Jason, from Goodyear. Jason from Good Here is one of our diehards here. And again, we are spotlighting so many of you great diehards on this show.
Starting point is 00:55:36 But Jason, like I said, he is a Diamondbacks fan. And he is one of our diehards for less than a year. So shout out. It is our guy, Jay Army Strong. Wow. We love this guy. Jason, you are one of Damon. What a lad.
Starting point is 00:55:52 Favorite. Favorite diehard. So again, shout out to you. We celebrate you, sir. Not only have you been an amazing part of our community since joining, but honestly, he's been a diehard for less of the year. It doesn't feel like that. Feels like Jason's been around forever.
Starting point is 00:56:06 Feels like he's a day one. Again, good year, Arizona. His favorite team is your Arizona Diamondbacks and his favorite athlete, Gino! We miss you, Gino. Maybe I don't know. How's he doing betting average-wise? Maybe not. Maybe not. But yes. Yes, definitely. Shout out to Jason. Like I said, you guys are all amazing.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Jason, a man who likes just a good head of hair, clearly. And he said, oh, crap, what did I write? That might have been a little old entry there, perhaps, from Jason. Maybe that one's from last season. When Gino is on the squad. But, of course, shout out to you, Jason, man. Appreciate you. Love you. And, of course, you can hang out with Jason. I'm not, I might be committing him without him actually being able to come. But diehards like Jason at our upcoming PHNX Diamondbacks takeover of Chase Field. We have two of them to enjoy one on June 4th, one on August 25th. On Thursday, June 4th, we will be taking on the Dodgers and you can join Damon, myself, and all of your fellow
Starting point is 00:57:06 diehards out there. For an all-you-can-eat experience there, you're going to get yourself a piece of pHd-Backs merch with your ticket, the choice of a hat or a shirt. You also get your game ticket with entry to the bar S all you can eat section to stuff your faces with us and then diehards of course as always get 20% off get your tickets right now at go p hnx.com slash events and uh cool bro's pointing out june 4th is also mexican heritage day by the way yeah there's a definite dilemma there when it comes to that one because i know we're inviting you to the takeover but i think you also have a special ticket package that you have to purchase in order to get like the team mexico slash diamondbacks you're
Starting point is 00:57:46 Jersey. Which took a big hit within the last week or so. Oh, God, yes. God, yes. My interest level in that jersey has gone down substantially. But one thing my interest level has never changed is talking about the history of the Arizona Diamondbacks. And here we are on, I think, our first throwback Thursday of the entire regular season.
Starting point is 00:58:10 It's kind of crazy. I mean, you know, I guess it shouldn't be a big surprise. We've been doing a lot of postgame shows around here. so we haven't necessarily had the time to just chat about history for this team. But there has been some history made over the course of this week in Diamondback's history, including the Diamondbacks' first time they set a club record for consecutive wins, Damon back in 2000. On May 13, 2000, the Diamondback set a club record by winning nine consecutive games.
Starting point is 00:58:41 Oh, could you imagine winning nine consecutive games? hey, let's change this to throwback Thursday, by the way. I'm going to do a little snap and then we do it. No? There it is. There it is. There we go. That's better.
Starting point is 00:58:54 Back in those days, these were the colors. And of course, like I said, the Diamondbacks set their first consecutive club record streak by winning nine consecutive games. That was on May 13, 2000. But an event that the Diamondbacks just celebrated here at Chase Field on the broadcast and in the booth was that Randy Johnson on May 8, 2001, tied the Major League record for strikeouts. in nine innings when he fanned 20 Cincinnati Reds
Starting point is 00:59:18 at what was then known Bank One Ballpark. Ranji Johnson pitched nine innings with the score tied 3-3, where the Diamondbacks winning in 11 innings by a score of 4 to 3. Of course in a game that the Diamondbacks had their starting pitcher strikeout 20 players,
Starting point is 00:59:37 they still went to extra in a tie ball game. That's so Diamondbacks. Another record that Randy Johnson set this week. Back on May 18, 2004 was when he threw the Diamondback's first perfect game. A two-oh win over the Atlanta Braves. He was the 16th pitcher in MLB history to throw a perfect game. It took him 117 pitches, the last of which was a 98 mile per hour fastball to strike out Eddie Perez. That man. That man was something. That man was something. A couple of other events that occurred on May 13, 2009. Herardo Parra, Gerardo Parra,
Starting point is 01:00:18 Herodopara made his first MLB debut against the Reds. And one was the second Diamondback in history to hit a home run in his very first at bat, following up on Alex Cabrera doing it back in 2000. He was the 100th player in Major League history and the second that season to accomplish the feat of hitting a home run in his first at bat. And then last but not least,
Starting point is 01:00:42 this one's for the Tory haters out there on May 10, 22, Tori LaBullo surpassed Kirk Gibson with 354 wins to become the most wins by manager in franchise history. That was a 9 to 3 victory
Starting point is 01:00:57 over the Marlins. I'm sure his record right now is sub 500. There's no doubt in my mind that it is. But the Diamondbacks again, they start their series with the Colorado Rockies tomorrow. We look forward to bringing you
Starting point is 01:01:08 a post game show after game one. So make sure to join us for that. In the meantime, you know what you can do. You can follow us on social. I am at cap underscore caveman with a K. Damon Dog is at Damon with a DAWG at the end. And we are all Damon's dogs. Bark, bark.
Starting point is 01:01:25 Our shows at PH&X underscore D-Backs. But as always, all roads lead to at pH and X underscore sports on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Damon, do we have any super chats that I miss before we get out of here? We did have one, yeah, from Coolbro here and says, $1.99. Cool, thank you, as always. Dan housing cursed AZ on Smackdown in March. WN soon. Yeah, no WrestleMania soon.
Starting point is 01:01:46 No WrestleMania here in Phoenix, but according to a new partnership with TKO, it appears that they are going to be bringing several events, including WWE events to the Valley in 2027. There has been rumors that it's- We care about UFC, bro. There's UFC? There's the PBR championship.
Starting point is 01:02:05 Yeah, they'll get, they're going to, that's, I saw people making jokes being like, really all this is going to entail is they're going to give us, like, the bull riding championship. Oh, for sure. that's, we already get that kind of stuff here all the time. It should be here. It should be here.
Starting point is 01:02:18 Yeah. It should be here in Texas. It's in Vegas a lot, I think. That too. But again, yeah, excited for that. Danhausen, meanwhile, I was just talking about the time I sat at a merch table between him and, and Space Monkey. It was a very weird experience.
Starting point is 01:02:34 And to this day, I do believe that Danhausen might have secretly cursed me as well. So it's not just our team that he cursed. I will have to maybe pay that $100. He increased his kids. He increased his cameo, by the way. It went from 125 to 200 now. So we're going to have to get some discretionary funds from All-City in order to get that cameo, get them to uncurse our team.
Starting point is 01:02:52 But hopefully he can uncurse this offense and get them rolling here in Colorado. We thank you guys so much for your time. Appreciate you stopping by. We will see you back here tomorrow with another post-game show. Until then, have yourselves a wonderful evening. Behave yourself, Jason, specifically, our favorite die-hard today. And remember, kids, baseball is fun. but it's so much more fun when you realize that our offense stinks and needs to get going.
