Starting point is 00:00:06 Hello and welcome to another edition of the P.HNX D-Backs podcast right here on PHNX. My name is Derek Montia, officially known as your mayor of PHNX. And I am joined by my vice mayor, my friend, my co-host, the one and only, Thunderstick Jesse Friedman. Derek, Keith Law's top 100 prospect rankings came out. And it feels like Christmas Day, right? Oh, it's exciting. There is nothing like Keith Law releasing his top 100 prospects. to make my day. So it's going to be a good episode. It's like Christmas morning. I can't wait
Starting point is 00:00:42 to unwrap and see what we got and see what Jordan Waller's like. We got some pretty good stuff. Absolutely. And of course, this show is brought to you by the fine folks at the Draft King's Sportsbook app. Folks, the moment we've been waiting for since September is finally here in honor of the big game, the Super Bowl being here. Officially the Draft King's Sportsbook is giving new customers 56 to 1 odds on either team in honor of Super Bowl 56. Jesse, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles, Rams, who are you taking? Oh, it's got to be the Bengals, right? There we go. There we go. I mean, I don't know if the Bengals are the favorites to be, I don't follow the NFL well enough. Most likely aren't. I can't. They probably aren't up to this point. And Los Angeles Rams do have
Starting point is 00:01:33 home field advantage in the Super Bowl, the second consecutive year that a team has home field advantage in the Super Bowl. I thought that type of thing wasn't supposed to happen. But of course, new customers get those 56 to 1 odds over at the Draft King Sportsbook app using our code of P.HNX bet just $5 and get $280 in free bets if your team wins. And I hope your team is the Cincinnati Bengals in your face to all of my Los Angeles Rams friends. That's mostly the reason why I need to take this position, Jesse. I don't have very many Bengals friends.
Starting point is 00:02:08 I have plenty of Rams friends. So I need to rub it in, I need something to rub in their faces. They will be insufferable if I have to deal with them all offseason, having won a Super Bowl. At home, by the way, I don't need to mention that anymore. But of course, like you said, today is like Christmas morn. Of course, I'm like Scrooge shouting out my window. Boy, what day is it today? as we find out what Keith Law
Starting point is 00:02:34 brought the Arizona Diamondbacks as presents. But first, a big present for all of us, a big present for baseball. MLB, the show announced today their cover athlete for MLB, the show, 2022, and much to our chagrin, it was not a blank grayed-out image like they have right now on MLB.com
Starting point is 00:02:54 for every player's profile picture. It was, in fact, Sheoha Otani. And obviously, that is the the absolute correct selection for a cover athlete, an absolute outstanding player that is both a phenomenal pitcher and hitter, and the first Asian to ever, an Asian athlete to don the cover of a major North American video game, you know, like this.
Starting point is 00:03:21 So groundbreaking and awesome, obviously very, very well deserved. Absolutely. I mean, Shohei Otani is. If there's a player in baseball right now that you just want to throw all of the marketing dollars at, Shohei Otani is the guy. I mean, he is a generational talent. I mean,
Starting point is 00:03:44 the season he had this past year is just unreal. I mean, the way that he actually, the way that he's actually a legitimate two-way player in a way that we have not seen anyone, not even Babe Ruth, right, accomplished. Like,
Starting point is 00:03:59 it is next level stuff. I do find it a little bit, weird. Correct me if I'm wrong, Derek. I've been buying MLB the show for a number of years. I don't think Mike Trout has ever been on a cover. It's kind of, it's kind of funny to me that Joe Hottani made an MLB the show cover before Mike Trout. But I mean, that's not the point, right? I don't want to take anything away from Otani. I did have to throw that in there because that does seem, I mean, Mike Trout is the is the best player in baseball over the last decade or so. So I, I don't really know how they managed to skip over him. I guess they're still.
Starting point is 00:04:32 time, but we'll see. You know, I think the thing about it might be a little less about skipping over a person and it might be more, maybe less of an interest on their part. I could be wrong, but I do remember Mike Trout being a part of their advertising campaign pretty heavily one year. So like you said, I might have missed it because that would be a pretty big miss. I think the difference here is what you said about Shohei Atani and being a legitimate two-way player like we've never seen before.
Starting point is 00:05:05 We've never seen someone be dominant on both sides of the ball like this and do it with such a weird, quirky personality that goes along with it in a way like we've never seen. I've often said I adore Otani for more than just his play for just what a normal person. He is not even a normal person. What a childlike person he is at times just playing baseball. He doesn't play baseball in a way, or he plays baseball in a way where I don't feel like he knows cameras are on him. That's kind of the way he plays.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Or he knows cameras are on him all the time and he's just brilliant with how he, you know, makes funny little faces and does things. But he does these funny little quirky things and then proceeds to whip your ass in the game while doing all of this funny quirkiness. You know, I remember seeing him hit here at Chase Field. and he missed on a ball so bad that he like almost cartoon-like screwed himself around into the like like the ground like he went all the way around and like fell down and looked pretty foolish on the uh at bat and then he got up and i think he raked for a freaking double the next swing of the bat right so it's like that's him in a nutshell he has no problem looking a bit foolish and stuff when he's giving his full effort but then he will absolutely come back home and dream one for a home run in his very next at bat. I just,
Starting point is 00:06:35 I think he is just special. He's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, and a,
Starting point is 00:06:41 and a joy to be like a fan of as, as a player. I don't, I don't do that much anymore where I'm a fan of just a guy, but he is, yeah, one of those people for me. I just think it's weird that like,
Starting point is 00:06:55 like, Yassiel Pueg was on the cover of an MLB, the show game. That is. It's just, it just i don't know it it pains me the choices that they've made it goes to show it goes to show that they really go with what's trendy and hot in the moment who's popular right because it is it's investing in a future athlete at times for marketing purposes or for the purposes of bringing them on to your team is like a it's like a buying a stock right you want to buy it before other people
Starting point is 00:07:28 know about it you want to buy it before the price gets too high on it. You want to buy really low and sell at a premium or have that stock do so well that it just outperforms everything that you ever imagine it could do. And that's the dream constantly with baseball teams in finding that diamond in the rough somewhere, no matter where it is, right? That's why when I wrote my piece on Tomas, you know, you couldn't help but see that there was a trend. It's not to say there have been great Cuban players. of Cuban descent all throughout baseball. It's not to say like there was all of a sudden, you know, Cubans in the league,
Starting point is 00:08:08 but that is around the time where things changed with Cuba and their relationship to the United States. And that's a time where we started seeing guys kind of defect and have this big impact on the game in a quick amount of time, right? But it did. It became almost a trend for every player to try to find or every team to find a, a Cuban defector as as their next superstar during that time that you're talking about. And they'll be the show isn't there. I guess they're not safe from, you know, following what's trendy and what's hot in baseball and trying to get in on that kind of at an early stage too.
Starting point is 00:08:49 So what you're saying is the real mistake is that Yasmani Tomas never appeared on a cover of that will be the show. That's where the real miss is. Yeah. No, I would never, I would never make that claim. I bet he's on plenty of park benches in Reno, Nevada. I don't know. But I mean, they should, he, there should be some sort of like,
Starting point is 00:09:12 there was a guy here called Jerry the King of Beepers here in Phoenix. I know people remember Jerry. The Pueg should have gotten it on some sort of King of Reno promotion while he was there because he could have probably made some good promotional money with that gimmick. But again, like you said, it sucks to take away from Otani by a talk. about guys that that haven't gotten there. There's a weird, I don't know if it's fake or not, but there's a weird cover going around that looks like they might be giving
Starting point is 00:09:40 Derek Jeter the special edition treatment like they did with the Jackie Robinson edition this year of MLB the show. I'm not sure if that's the case or not or if that's just a bunch of Yankees fans holding on to something. But that seems a bit much to go from Jackie Robinson to Derek Jeter. that's fair that's fair i'm pretty sure that's true though i think it was leaked there's a can remember which website it is um but there was a website that like accidentally revealed the cover and derrick jeter was on it so i i think we can be pretty confident in that which yeah i mean derrick jeter
Starting point is 00:10:18 is certainly a legend in this game um overrated defensively um but oh don't even get don't even get jesse started on yeah yeah who could write a whole article on it over at go p hnx.com which by the way you should be a member if you aren't already you could go read my piece on yismani to moss being the worst contract in arizona diamondbacks history spoiler alert on that article but go over if you're not uh go sign up to become a member you get an annual membership over at go p hnx.com and that's just sixty dollars and you will get yourself a free t-shirt over at the p hnx locker almost pays for itself right there in the free t-shirt If you're not interested in the yearly subscription, you can get to month-a-month option,

But again, getting that free t-shirt over at PHNX Locker, get yourself a t-shirt, get yourself a sticker pack, and yeah, celebrate your induction into the PHNX family. We want you over here. I will give you updates on my health, whether it's deteriorating or not. that's that's only in the members only discord yeah you have to have insider access in order yeah yeah otherwise that's really what you're paying for you get vague tweets for me about dying
Starting point is 00:11:39 from covid and my brother my brother just straight up said to be like are you got COVID me like are you going to die and I was like I don't know how to answer a question like that at this stage how many people got it three days in and we're like yep I'm done I don't No. Oh, man. You see if it gets worse or not. Cocked me in a month. But again, members only updates on my health in the Discord and all sorts of other updates.
Starting point is 00:12:08 But obviously you get full access to Jesse and I there. That's where we're at. That's where we live. You also get part-time access to Patrick Lyons from the DNVR Rockies podcast. But again, sign up to become a member, join the family. We appreciate you guys for doing so. Jesse, you alluded to Christmas morning. being here. Keith Law, he definitely put the Arizona Divenbacks on the nice list because they are
Starting point is 00:12:35 pretty deep as far as his top 100 prospects are concerned. They are. They really are. They have seven guys on the list all together, which I mean, you factor in. There's 30 major league teams. Each team's going to have about three on average. The Diamondbacks have seven. We were talking in the in the Discord earlier today. actually a few of our listeners just about how at least from my standpoint like this is the reason why you can't look at Mike Hazen and the job that he's done and say that he's been you know a disgrace of a general manager here he certainly you know made his mistakes there are some moves that haven't panned out um but the diamondbacks farm system is stacked right now it is a it is a top five
Starting point is 00:13:21 farm system uh having seven guys on this list is is not insignificant um and And I'll go ahead and list them off and then pitch it back over to you, whatever curious what you think stands out on this list. But we have number 16 is Corbyn Carroll. No surprises there. Diamondback Centerfield Prospect. Then it's Jordan Lawler at number 31 shortstop. Their first round draft pick from this past year.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Aroldo Pardomo, number 63, shortstop. We got a glimpse of last season. expect to see a lot more of him this year. I also, sorry, skipped over one there at number 34 is Alex Thomas. If you're wondering where Alec Thomas was on the list, he is on the list. He's number 34 outfielder. We've certainly talked a lot about him. So you've got Carol Lawler, Thomas Perdomo, and then after that, the back three, there's a trio of pitching prospects toward the end of the top 100 list. It's Ryan Nelson at number 74, Dre Jameson at number 84. And then Brandon Fott, at number 87.
Starting point is 00:14:28 It's a deep list, Derek. Obviously, you know, the guys at the top there are a little bit more on the position player side. I guess on a little bit more than our position players. And the guys on the back end there are pitchers. But nonetheless, there's a lot to be excited about here on this list. There absolutely is. And it's the future that we've been talking about.
Starting point is 00:14:48 It's the future that the Diamondbacks have been banking on, right? I think even when you look at the current. construction of the team, the fact that they aren't really trying to invest in any kind of, I guess, free agents that aren't going to match the timeline of this team that they still can't really determine, right? There's three stages that a team needs to go through in order to become successful in order to become a World Series contender. And the Diamondbacks still aren't even in stage one. Like, they haven't established their core.
Starting point is 00:15:30 Right. We've talked about it. We've disagreed a little bit, I think, on Carson Kelly, perhaps. And, uh, but you and I think, you know, obviously, I think Carson Kelly is part of the core. It's more, it's more Rojas and Pavin Smith. Those are the guys that people might claim are part of the core. I don't know if that's part of a winning core in this league, not totally convinced yet.
Starting point is 00:15:51 not 100% convinced, but again, not every team is going to be comprised of superstars at every division or every position, right? It's a matter of those guys filling a position and being good, serviceable, adequate baseball players that can, you know, still average around 250 plus and be a part of this team, right? But the core of this team still hasn't been established. And I believe those guys at the top of that list are going to be a part of this core. I think there's a good chance Perdomo might be a part of this core. I think, you know, Walker and Christian Robinson and, you know, these guys are the future of the outfield. So this is all trending in the direction that it feels like Mike Hazen knew it was going.
Starting point is 00:16:46 You can rush the process and what you could do is jeopardize that future. you could have those guys up be the exact kind of superstars you think they could potentially be, but then not really be able to commit to them long term because you get caught up in some other spending or you're not able to supplement the team at the right time, right? Because once you get through that first stage of the team, you know, and its core, then that's when you start adding the pieces that make the team a full well-rounded team. And then that final stage, that's the point. part where you spend on crazy free agents.
Starting point is 00:17:22 That's the time where you swing for the fences. That's the time where you bring in those guys on the half a season trade deal, even knowing that they're not going to sign at the end of the season just because you feel like you're close enough to be competitive and you can add those pieces at the right time. Yeah. I am sure that there's a portion of this season where the Atlanta Braves absolutely did not feel like they were going to be contenders for the World Series, let alone World Series
Starting point is 00:17:47 Champions when all was said and done. but I know for a fact that, you know, they saw their shortcomings and saw that they could make a pretty decent run up at this. And, you know, it's like that's, that's the time where you potentially mortgage a little bit of your future to make your team better for that run or whatever the case. That's the kind of window that the Arizona Diamondbacks are going to have to find, right? But right now, there's no point to wasting money on a team that's still going to be mediocre, right? So that's, that's again why we might not see any, you know, supplementing this team this season with free agents or trying to really make this current roster much better because they're not close enough, right? their active payroll right now as we speak is $66 million. Wow.
Starting point is 00:18:47 I'm pretty sure the Dodgers would throw that at a single player if they needed to. You know, like the entire Diamondbacks payroll. $66 million on one player, but maybe two. I don't know. I don't know. Let's see. But yeah, they definitely, you know, right now are kind of in a holding pattern. and part of it is because it's a business, right? There is no point to throw away money when you're doing it just to like, hey, we want to win, again, we want to be 500 instead of being 10 games under 500.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Well, as much as as nice as that is, at the end of the day, does it matter if you still don't make the playoffs if you were 10 games under 500 or at 500 or one game over or three games under? right really what it comes down to at this point is i think you know them waiting for these core guys that are so highly valued to kind of be ready all at once to a degree right they're all on a relatively similar timeline where we're going to see them all on the main roster by 2024 and unfortunately that means it's looking more and more like the arizona diamondbacks window next window at being good and competitive and making a run at it probably isn't until beyond that. 2025, you know, maybe. That sucks.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Nobody wants to hear that. And I don't even want to say it. It sucks to say. I could see it being sooner than that. I think one thing that stands out looking at this list is that most of these prospects are really pretty close. Like they don't have, they don't have three or four years to go in the minor leagues. Most of these guys have one or two years, maybe even less than that. The trio of pitchers that that we listed there, Ryan Nelson, Dre Jameson, and Brandon
Starting point is 00:20:48 fought all of them have a chance to make the roster this next season at some point. I don't know if I would bet on that, but all of them have a legitimate shot to do it. They've all pitched at AA. And so, and beyond that, Geraldo Perdomo, we've already seen him in the majors. Alec Thomas will be up this next season. Jordan Lawler is really the one guy on this list who is probably still a couple of years away. And Corbyn Carroll will see,
Starting point is 00:21:13 depending on his injury, that might, you know, slow him down a little bit as he, as he moves up the ranks this season. But there's a good chance Lawler's going to stay at shortstop, right? Doesn't Lawler play? There's a good chance. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:24 Yeah. Jordan Lawler has a really good chance to stay at shortstop. So, yeah, there's, there is time for him. He might not, like, you know, again, And me saying all these guys are going to be available or come up around the same time isn't the case because several of these guys will come up this season. I'm confident we'll see Alec Thomas this season. I'm confident we'll see Christian Robinson by next season. If not, maybe sooner than that.
Starting point is 00:21:49 I don't know where his progression is any longer. He's not on this list. Yeah, that's interesting. He's not on this list. And I think from what I remember, I'd have to look this up. But Keith Law was very high on Christian Robinson in the past. from what I remember. So it's telling that he's not on this list because Christian Robinson, I've seen as high
Starting point is 00:22:09 as, you know, 30 on some top 100 lists in the past. How can you, though, when his future is uncertain at this point, right? Like, it's, it's, it's one thing to just assume there. Sure. It's, you can assume, and for us, we can hope, but you got to really look at the progression of the guys that are currently in the system and haven't had that kind of delay to their progression. You know, sometimes, unfortunately, with baseball, when you have that long of a layoff,
Starting point is 00:22:38 it could result in you essentially kind of starting all the way back over and beginning your progress through the minor league system back at single A or high A. Yeah, no, that's very true. So, yeah, I mean, we'll see how this turns out. But I think there's a lot to be excited about here from a diamond back standpoint. Those pitchers at the end of the list, Brandon Fott is really the one who stands out the most. This guy was taken in the fifth round, was not really seen as someone who was probably going to be in a major league rotation at any point. But Kifah wrote his article about how, you know, of all the debacks pitching prospects, Fought might be the most durable.
Starting point is 00:23:21 You know, you want to talk about a guy who could be an innings eater who could make 30 starts a season. And it's really easy to envision him doing that. Fought is really right at the top of that list. So, you know, maybe it's not a, maybe he's not a top of the rotation starter. And maybe ultimately none of these guys wind up being number one or number two starters. But Fought stands out as someone who's durable. And to get that kind of value out of a fifth round pick would be really, really big. Really what the Arizona Diamondbacks need is depth.
Starting point is 00:23:53 And they need help in the bullpen. So at this point, especially with Lovolo's, at least current philosophy about giving the young guys time in the bullpen. Maybe some of those guys can be the answer for them, maybe be those innings eaters this season. I wouldn't be surprised to see them turn to some of these guys early, despite the forecasts for them making it to the major leagues, don't show them making it up in 2022.
Starting point is 00:24:21 I just think based on the need, and depending on what the Arizona Diamondbacks do, once we resume baseball activity. I, you know, it seems far-fetched to me that they're not going to fill some of these positional needs, but they easily could start calling on these guys sooner than later and just trying to not worry, I guess, as much about when they're starting that service time and worry more about getting the future of their team here early. I have seen a lot of reports recently today, the last couple of days,
Starting point is 00:24:55 that, you know, it doesn't look good for the current lockout negotiations. Apparently, the two sides are not set to meet until next week, Jesse. They are not meeting this week. Is that, does that change? I, was it supposed to be Tuesday of this? Because they. I think it's Tuesday of this week. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Which for our listeners, I guess it would be today. It just seems like these negotiations are not. there's no sense of urgency here. And it's seeming more and more like we're going to have a delay to the season unless these two sides can get locked into some negotiations over the course of a week and not break until they have something determined. I understand that with all the moving parts and the representation going on and everything like that, it's not easier said than done, but we already determined the answer.
Starting point is 00:25:54 get Scott Boris in there. Give him. I don't know if I would think of Scott Boris as the peace maker. No, no, I'm not looking for peace. No, that's not what I'm looking for. Jesse. I want this to be over is what I want. So you're asking for peace.
Starting point is 00:26:12 I don't know. I'm asking for war is what I'm asking for. I don't know if Scott Boris is going to make this over. I think Scott Boris is going to make the owners angry. You know, in Robocop, where there was a robo. Robocop and then to stop Robocop, they just made a bigger, like, robot. It's the T-100, I think. That's the big thing that was like on wheels.
Starting point is 00:26:33 It was like a transaurus wrecks. Yeah, that's what Scott Boris is. I'm asking to send him in there and for him to use his gatling guns to make a bloody mess of this entire situation. I am tired of being patient. I'm tired of both sides being this. I don't know. It feels like some sort of weird English procedural. thing where, you know, it's like, okay, after we present this, there must be a fortnight
Starting point is 00:27:03 that passes before hence which a reply can be sent in time which for which the players union on bended knee must commit to the king, you know, that kind of thing. It's like a, it's like a parliament meeting. Yeah, like it's, oh my God. Just get in a room and get it done. I mean, it is, it is Tuesday, though. It is today. It is Tuesday when this is, oh, I don't believe you.
Starting point is 00:27:33 I don't believe you. It's not happening fast enough. So I mean, it's not. I'm not saying the lockouts going to end today. I'm just saying that. No, because it's going to end on February 14th. We've already discussed that. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:27:43 Of course. Put that out there. I believe it's a Monday. It's Valentine's Day. Let's get done by that. I will say, though, that it's still interesting because there is talk that spring training would be delayed. And I am kind of hearing two things in regards to that. So it will be interesting to see how it proceeds if we get that far into this season and we don't have a deal done
Starting point is 00:28:08 yet. If we get into March and no deal is done, are we going to see non-40-man roster players filling out the minor league or the spring training roster and playing? I mean, is that what we're going to get? for my understanding, they're still going to be at the facility for pitchers and catchers reporting. Yeah. And I mean, I almost feel like that might just be more to keep like the coaches and the staff and everybody else in like the same rhythm regardless of the situation. But who knows what any of this is for or if any of this is going to happen if they're just going to cancel it. You know, like I don't, I don't know. But get the deal done by February 14.
Starting point is 00:28:48 So I can run it in Jesse's face because he'll never. we talked about him being insufferable. Yeah, you would be completely inseparable. That would be pretty rough. But I don't. I got to let everybody know, Jesse. I'm sorry. You go ahead.
Starting point is 00:29:03 That's the most important thing. It is. Well, it's the most important because, again, it's the Super Bowl. And it's the one thing that everybody watches, right? Like, I can't say that about another championship game, really. people that don't care watch it people that do care watch it the super bowl is unlike any other event in sports baseball wishes that people cared as much about the world series as they do about watching the super bowl right but this is it we're here finals i think to some extent no you're absolutely right yeah because
Starting point is 00:29:37 that gets down to the fans of the two teams and still your casual fans but yeah no there's not like your normal average person isn't saying oh well we got to set some time yeah side this week to Bro party, you know, let's order some pizza. Yeah, let's order some pizza and have some people over for the NBA finals. But you're doing that with the, you're doing that with the Super Bowl. And in honor of Super Bowl 56, Draft Kings has given you these crazy odds that you're not going to get a one. Because obviously, this is for this. So 56 to 1 odds, you're not getting that again. Get it now.

Starting point is 00:31:05 See draftkings.com slash sportsbook for details. And Jesse, we did have at least some Arizona Diamondbacks transactional news as they announced that they have agreed to terms with 19 of their international signies, which we talked about in the past. We talked about those signies, but they were all pretty much signed during that weekend between January 15th and January 16th. It looks like Alberto Bariga was signed on January 20th. But outside of that, looks like everybody was in that period there.
Starting point is 00:31:45 interesting. Again, a lot of infielders, a lot of right-handed pitchers. So Diamondbacks trying to do what they can to bolster their international, I guess they're not their international signings, but basically what they're doing in the Dominican Republic with their school and their training program that they've developed down there. Yeah, this is, yeah, I mean, there's a lot of, a lot of players from the DR here. A lot of players from Venezuela as well. There's several catchers here who are all from Venezuela. And yeah, all these guys are either 16 years old or 17 years old. So, you know, these guys have a bit of a journey in front of them.
Starting point is 00:32:29 But yeah, we talked about this a couple weeks ago when the news of all these signings came down. The biggest names here in terms of signing bonuses are Abdides Dela Cruz, who is an infielder. And then Gerald Ninn, who's also an infielder, both of those. guys coming in is shortstop. So, but yeah, I mean, it's going to be fun to see how all these guys develop and they're all super young. I mean, they're all, I mean, six, like this is crazy. I mean, the Diamondbacks are signing players who are 16 or 17 years old, right?
Starting point is 00:33:01 I mean, that's wild. It's another reason why baseball is so weird, right? I mean, when I was 16 years old, I was, you know, still replicating jump shots in my front driveway of my favorite sons players. and stuff like that, you know, like to be actually... Why just, why go, why wait until 16? Why not bring them in when they're eight years old? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:25 Oh, yeah. Start hitting up the, go up to the, get hit up the T ball, see who has power. See which kids are just generating that force from the hip with their hip rotation. Are you still playing T ball when you were eight years old there? Ooh. Now that I think about it, I don't know. I don't want to admit one way or another. I'm not a great hitter though, Jesse.
Starting point is 00:33:49 I made kid pitch. I definitely had made kid pitch by that point, but it was a dreadful kid pitch. It was a, it was one of the, it was a kid pitch situation where the, the kids had no idea where the ball was going. It was,
Starting point is 00:34:02 you throw it anywhere, you throw it within a foot of home plate. And it's like, yeah, that's a strike. Like, that's pretty close. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:10 And the other kid didn't hit it, but he swore, ah, that's good enough. Yeah. That's good. Right, right. I get it.
Starting point is 00:34:18 I get it. That's why we do this and we're not on the other side of it. But shout out to the Arizona Diamondbacks for canceling media, baseball batting practice because, yeah, I just would go out there and look like a fool, like a fool, Jesse. Look like a fool, too. I mean, they would have to throw like 60. Like if they threw 60, I might be able to make contact. But anything above 60 is no way.
