Starting point is 00:00:10 to another edition of the PHNX D-Bags podcast. Michaela is going to hit me with a bat before this episode is over. I know it for a fact, but of course, we're excited. The Diamondback split a series with the Washington Nationals, and we are here and talk about it. We are thankful you guys are here with us. Of course, my name is Derek Montia, occasionally known as your mayor of PHNX,
Starting point is 00:00:29 and I'm here with our social media goddess, the one and only Michaela Perkins. That is me. I'm here with my bats and my mini-bats because we have just performed a ritual so that the bats will continue to be alive, but for now we are stoked because the bats are alive. Deepx offense has come alive. And I think that we were really looking forward to seeing what,
Starting point is 00:00:49 you know, if this was a one game thing or if we could actually carry it over to multiple games. And they win today splitting the series and proving that their offense can still maintain that heat for right now. Of course, this show is brought to you by the fine folks at the Draft King Sportsbook app. Go download the Draft King Sportsbook app right now. Get down on the NBA playoff action. you bet $5 on any team to win and you will get $150 in free bets instantly no matter what. But again, we're excited. We haven't had a lot of games to celebrate.
Starting point is 00:01:20 We saw offense. We saw offense. Most importantly, what we saw here was the Washington Nationals was the series that we knew the Diamondbacks really needed to wake up and do something as far as offensively, showing that they're a team that can actually be competitive and win baseball games. Yeah, absolutely. Do you want to know something really sad? No, not really. I'm really happy. I don't want to be brought down, but sure. I'm sure you already know this, but heading into Wednesday's game, right? Okay, it's Wednesday. We're here. We're in the time. I'm like setting the scene. It's Wednesday. Today's Thursday. I know, but it was Wednesday. Oh, it was Wednesday. Yeah, it was Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:01:57 On Wednesday. We don't remember very much that happened on 420. Going into the game on Wednesday, I'm sure you already know this. The Diamondbacks were last in batting average, slugging percentage, and running. for all of Major League Baseball. Yeah, that doesn't surprise me at all. I don't, that's not a stat. I think that that's staggering. I think that makes a lot of sense when you've seen what this team has done. I think that they're, you know, Jesse's article about their patience was something that we
Starting point is 00:02:26 definitely saw more of this year. I think we did see them, you know, taking the most pitches per at bat. But what I think we saw in the last two games specifically was them not looking to walk as much, which was kind of the problem. It felt like at times, as Jesse addressed, that they were waiting for the walk. Like the walk was really the main goal and not getting a good pitch to hit. Today in today's game, I saw David Peralta swing at a pitch that was out of the zone for a hit, but it was, you know, it was a meatball that should be hit, right?
Starting point is 00:03:01 And it was very capable of hitting it. He got a single off of it. More importantly, that's the type of stuff I feel like the Diamondbacks weren't doing. right but motion in our comment says matt davidson getting called up was amazing and he is not wrong matt davidson got called up and he was already on a tear when when you talk about what he was doing in the minor leagues unfortunately for the diamondbacks that doesn't always translate over to them having success when they get here to the major league level yeah we talk about reno and how Reno can really mess with the way you see things from these guys in the minor leagues,
Starting point is 00:03:39 right? But he was slashing 386, 471, 955 with a minor league leading eight homers after nine games. And he did not stop. He came into this game. And his very first at bat as an Arizona Diamondback on a major league level at this point, he gets his first home run. And I think the Diamondbacks tweeted out, it was like 3,000. in 38 days or something ridiculous between his two Arizona Diamondbacks home run.
Starting point is 00:04:08 So hopefully Matt Davidson can maintain that offense. He can be a spark for this team right now and can help them, you know, keep going down this path. Yeah, absolutely. I agree. I think I don't want to get too over-excited. I don't want to like, woo. No, we're told we're getting, we're getting over-excited today.
Starting point is 00:04:24 I don't want to be overly optimistic and get my heartbroken, Derek. Because usually, I think it's sometimes, it's not necessarily easier, but, you know, you know, when pitchers are facing batters, a lot of the times they face those batterers multiple times in the past. So they kind of have like an idea of like how to get this batter out. And so when guys come up and it's like their major debut or whatever, they don't have that familiarity with that batter. So it can be easier for some people to kind of like perform well for their first couple at bats until their pitchers starting to figure them out. So, but I'm really happy. It was awesome to see Matt Davidson getting that huge helping the Diamondbacks offense, like helping up big and getting that call up.
Starting point is 00:05:02 was obviously probably very special for him and it was cool to watch him in the game too. Absolutely. More importantly, though, the offense is finally starting to match what the starting pitching is doing. Starting pitching for this team continues to be very good. Zach Davies, five innings, two hits, two earn runs, two walks, seven strikeouts. So honestly, he had a great outing. And Davies continues to be surprisingly good for this team. I mean, again, it was a little scary after looking at last season's numbers when they brought
Starting point is 00:05:32 It was his worst career year ever. Right. It was horrible. And they gave him, you know, it was a major league contract, right? So he wasn't, he didn't have the possibility of being sent down. He was going to start. He was on this team. You know, it seemed like regardless of his performance, but so far, he's been pretty damn good for this team.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Yeah. He has made me eat by words, which I am very grateful for. I did not have any faith in him coming into the season. I was worried about him and his spot in the rotation specifically, just because of, you know, his last year was so bad and it didn't, I didn't have a lot of confidence in him coming into the year. So I'm so glad. Thank you, Zach Davies,
Starting point is 00:06:10 for making me eat it because we need. We want to be wrong, right? Like when we, yeah, when we doubt people, we want to be proven wrong, right? And that's what it's all about. But yeah,
Starting point is 00:06:19 I'm glad that they, more than anything, the Diamondbacks have consistency in their starting pitching. And if the offense is going to suck like they've been sucking, they've got to have that starting pitching to try to keep them competitive at least. So it's really. refreshing to see the starting pitching being so good. Knock on win. I'm afraid to get excited about anything.
Starting point is 00:06:37 I know. I know. Well, I mean, I guess to put this in perspective, they do have some very tough series that we're going to talk about here in a minute. But for now, I think you just have to, it's the small victories, right? It's the got to do one thing at a time. This team didn't really look as bad as their offense actually was. Yeah. Right? Like the starting pitching has been very good and the bullpen has been rough. But it feels like.
Starting point is 00:07:00 That's like the story of the diamond. Back's lives, though. What if they ever had to go? Yeah, that's a whole other thing. But people are making a lot of comparisons to last year. The one thing I will say it last year is there was at times nothing going right for this team. There was nothing that you could look at and say, well, at least we got that. There was nothing like that.
Starting point is 00:07:21 So there's a lot of things that when you've seen this team struggle early on, you can at least be like, man, it doesn't even make any sense that they're this bad at the plate, you know, or even today, right, we all held our breath. I'm not just talking about us. I'm talking about everybody in this room, everybody in this damn studio, if they wanted to be around me, in that eighth and ninth inning, when me and Kennedy came out, Mark Melanson came out, Mark Melanson made it as exciting as a humanly could without actually blowing the safe. Almost had a heart attack. Right. I mean, these are the guys that the Diamondbacks brought in to seal the deal. They're not as tight as you would want them to be, but they at least got the
Starting point is 00:08:01 job done today. Yeah, they, that's, that's a way to praise it. That's for sure. They definitely did get the job done. It wasn't pretty by any means and it gave me a heart attack. But I don't know what it is with those two. Like they, they were brought in to be shut down lockout closers and that's not what's been happening. Yeah. That's frustrating to watch because again, this, that this is another thing that feels like deja vu from last season. Last season, it was more with injuries, but when they came back from injuries, the guys that they acquired, Joachim Soria, Tyler Clipper, they weren't what
Starting point is 00:08:36 they needed them to be. They weren't what they brought them in for, right? And obviously the injury, I'm sure, impacted both of those guys when it came to that. This is a different story. This is just right out of the gate, not really being able. Hey, put respect on La Fletche's name. I'll get this hat, I'll get this
Starting point is 00:08:52 hat real sideways if we want to start bringing up Fernando Rodney, but the Diamondbacks end their road trip going three and four. They're now three and four on the road. They're record five and eight, which really doesn't seem as terrible as this team has been, right? I was about to say, it really doesn't seem that bad. I mean, I did not, I mean, the nationals are horrible. So I was hoping that they could do better against the nationals, especially with their really difficult two series that they have coming up. Yeah. But, you know, five and eight,
Starting point is 00:09:20 it could be worse. Could be worse. It could be worse. Could be worse. That's the tagline for this season. It could be worse. All right. Well, and again, I've referenced. French Jesse's article because I still believe that the Diamondbacks printed it up, stapled it, made enough for everybody. That's omnipotent Jesse, of course. They passed it around the entire clubhouse. It's terrifying.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Who is he supposed to be? The all-knowing, all-seeing what? Like, is that? Who is that? Can we get somebody from our producer to help us out? Who is the base there? Is it Nesferatu or something? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:54 That is horrifying. I almost had Gandalf, that's not right. That is horrifying. not right, but Jesse's article did point out a lot of things that the Diamondbacks offense was doing poorly that we've actually seen them rectify in the series. So as much as we joke about it, it does seem like maybe they, maybe they had a light turn on at the same time as we did as to what the real problem was around here for the Arizona Diamondbacks offense.
Starting point is 00:10:19 And of course, I say we taking credit for Jesse's wonderful work. But if you haven't checked it out already, go over to go phnx.com. You can get that article. If you're not a member already, sign up to be. become a member. You'll get your first month for just 50 cents and hopefully you decide to stick around and check out all of our wonderful content coming out from our PHNX team because we got some good stuff. We did some research. Hang on. I want to cut you off
Starting point is 00:11:08 for a second. Let's hear it. We did some research. Intern David has found out that that image is actually from an old Lord of the Rings RPG RPG which means it is Gandalf in that image. Oh, damn! What a guess. But Nostradamus predicted the future.
Starting point is 00:11:24 Yeah, that's... Wow. That's incredible. Jesse's a knowing all seeing, you know, what, wizard. He's a wizard. I feel like Jesse and Gandalf are kindred spirits. Yeah, they're definitely related. He's definitely a distant relative of Jesse's for sure. But of course, we have, like we talked about, some tough series,
Starting point is 00:11:43 the Mets have the best record in the National League. They're coming into Chase Field for a three-game set. The Mets? Hey, man, they put together a solid team up there. We had a chance to experience it. And I mean, honestly, the Diamondbacks kind of hung in there for a couple of games. I wouldn't stick with that, though. The Mets are always going to met.
Starting point is 00:11:59 If there's one constant in baseball, it's that the Mets are always going to be. The Mets are going to met. So I give it like another month and then they suck. It's kind of like if the Dodgers were in the same position we were, I would 100% believe that at any point they were going to win 50 games in a row, right? Like the Dodgers are one of those teams that are the opposite of the Mets, the opposite right now, the Diamondbacks. And they're also coming in for a three game set.
Starting point is 00:12:22 So the good news is taking a look at the upcoming probable pitchers. It looks like the Diamondbacks, most likely. likely will get out of seeing any heavy hitters, but there's still to be determined on Saturday that might be filled by Mr. Max Scherzer. So that remains to be seen. We have David Peterson going up against Zach Gallen in game one on Friday. We have to be determined for both teams on Saturday. And then Sunday is Tyler, which I just refuse to say a name like that. But that's how it says it said, Tyler McGill versus Tyler. Tyler. How do you tell that? He spells it like Tyler.
Starting point is 00:12:58 T-Y-L-R and pronounces it in a stupid way. No offense to you, Tyler. But Tyler McGill versus Madison Bumgarner going up on the hill. By the way, Madison Bumgarner, Merrill Kelly, currently in the top 10 in baseball for ERA. The only team with two pitchers, starting pitchers in the top 10 for ERA is the Arizona Diamondbacks. That part is still shocking to me. Jesse and I have uncovered a bit of, you know, that the Diamondbacks defense,
Starting point is 00:13:27 has basically been so bad behind them. You know at times where the defense makes a starting pitcher look good? Yeah. Well, somehow the defense has been so bad behind them that they're also still making the pitchers look good because the runs are being considered unearned runs, thus the low ERA for both. Well, I won't say that about Merrill Kelly. Merrill Kelly has just been lights out for this team.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Lights out for this team. He gave up his first run yesterday, by the way, and that was he is now third, that It was the third longest streak, scoreless streak, to begin the season by an Arizona Diamondback after Josh Colemanters, 2011 season where he had 15 scoreless to start the inning. And Kurt Schilling in 2002 with 18 innings pitched scoreless. So Merrill Kelly's up there and he's doing some really good things right now. Yeah, I kind of predicted that, actually.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Oh, here come. I, if I have to put, do we have to put one in her image, too? Actually, yeah, we are leading the league in errors there, Rock. Yeah, you're not wrong about that. We are absolutely, we're leading the league in a lot of bad categories as well. Yeah, there's a lot of, oh, saddard. There's a lot of things that we're leading in that we shouldn't be leading in. But hey, it's okay.
Starting point is 00:14:39 That's true. I am interested to see how Zach Gallen does in his second start of the year. He did really well in his first start with the limited pitches that he had. He did, what, four scoreless innings. And I thought he was pretty effective. He looked good out there. consider all things considering the injuries, the delayed start to the season, whatever it was. I thought he looked pretty good out there.
Starting point is 00:15:01 And in his four career appearances against the Mets, he has a 257 ERA. So pretty good. Yeah, he's not bad. And he was 4 in his 23 starts last year, but we know what that really was all about. But he spent those three, you know, the time on the injured list last year. That's the reason why I think we're very sensitive. about our baby boy Zach Gallen getting injured or hurt in any way. We want to like Michaela.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Makele wrap that man. Michaela wants a bubble wrapped wearing mitts at all times when he's not. Bubble wrap that man. Yeah, for sure. But definitely understandable because I think when you take a look at what some of like Merrill Kelly and especially like Zach Davies is doing, you know, Bumgarner somehow is back on track. If Zach Gallen can be Zach Gallen that we know,
Starting point is 00:15:50 this starting rotation isn't just us going, hey we're pretty good like this might be something you know special for this team that they can start building on right now yeah absolutely can you imagine if we have the best starting rotation in baseball and we are at the bottom of the league and runs in can you imagine that would be a totally that would be such a time of back thing to happen yeah it really would be the best starting rotation in baseball and then we can't score yeah no that would be absolutely absolutely something for them to do um it's again zack galen i thought he was going to line up with max scherzer on friday i thought maybe that's
Starting point is 00:16:26 why they pushed him back uh all things considered their rotation is still kind of all over the place right so zach gallen getting pushed back to friday it seems like they're going to maybe have someone spot start on saturday because madison bumgarner should be pitching on saturday so their their rotation is a bit funky right now and again like jesse would be the one to point out uh you know they once we get past that first week of the season, there is no actual, you know, number one starter and everything and the way schedules line up. It's not like you're going to always get your marquee pitching matchups with your number one versus the other team's number one. But it did feel a little bit
Starting point is 00:17:05 like they're like moving Zach Gallenback was going to put him in that spot. And now, yeah, their rotation is going to be thrown again out for a loop a bit by whoever starts on Saturday unless they move Madbum up to Saturday. Yeah. I mean, When you're the Arizona Diamondbacks, you've got to get a little creative. They're going to probably have to come up with a way to get Mad Bum. Sorry, I'm distracted by Jacobs' mouse jiggling on the screen. But yeah, I mean, when you're the Diamondbacks, you've got to get creative. We'll call it mouse twerking is what we'll call it.
Starting point is 00:17:39 But yeah, I think obviously if the Diamondbacks can at least get one game out of the series from the Mets, I'll chalk that up as a win, especially considering how just on fire the Mets are right now. So I'm hoping that they can at least steal a game from the three that they've got coming up. Good. You just bailed on Frank talking draft to change those. Good. We're way more exciting at the carnal show. One of those guys doing on at the same time as us.
Starting point is 00:18:02 We actually had a game that was on, right? I have mini-bats. A whole collection of them. Seriously. Now I feel like I need to feel like I need to defend myself now. But let's take a look at that upcoming schedule for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Because once again, it doesn't get any easier after the Mets, even though the Mets do, like I said, have the best record in baseball.
Starting point is 00:18:18 we have Dodgers coming up and then another road trip where they will go off to Seattle and then there's Miami I think is after that. So yeah, no easy wins. I think that Miami Marlins series might be the next. It's not on there yet. I know. But when it comes up, that's like the next thing. But on this schedule right now, there is no easy wins.
Starting point is 00:18:40 St. Louis is a very tough team. Dodgers are the Dodgers. Nolan Arnado is putting up like video game numbers right now and it's extremely triggering and upsetting. I think the thing to see here is if they can keep this offense up now going into the Mets series. Yeah, for sure. This is like a huge test of this offense. Like if it's not going to be like a two game thing and then they're just going to fall flat again, like they need to keep the bats hot and keep it on a roll throughout this entire like couple of weeks.
Starting point is 00:19:06 We love you, Jacelle. Jocel left the Cardinal show also to come watch us. That's right. Jasele just gets it. I love that girl. Bam asks why are the Rockies doing good and I need it. I need an answer to that. So would you please.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Would you tell me why the Rockies are doing good? I wish I could. If I could explain to you why the Rockies are good right now, I would be like the next commissioner of baseball, but I could not tell you. It doesn't make any sense. No. It makes no sense.
Starting point is 00:19:29 We mock that Chris Bryant signing so much. I still mock it. I still think it was a whole choice. Listen, like I said, the only constant in baseball is the Mets are going to met. I would like to amend that statement and say the Rockies are always going to rock. The Rockies are going to rock you.
Starting point is 00:19:43 Because you have no idea what that team is going to do. But also, I kind of feel like this is a concept. with them. To me, it seems like they start hot every single year and then they just tank. Like, they're horrible. I like, they get everybody's hopes up. It's like, everybody buys in because like, oh my God, the Rockies are finally good. And then like a month goes by and they are absolutely poop. So, you know, I don't want to, I'm not convinced that this is sustainable for the Rockies. I think they're going to Rocky and they're going to tank. So, uh, Rock says the devil's lettuce. He's blaming
Starting point is 00:20:12 marijuana for Colorado's fast start. I don't think that that's a bad idea. That could easily be that. Of course, yesterday was 420, and we hope you guys had a chance, speaking of which, to go check out our friends at OG's brands. I know I did, and I had myself a lovely day. I hope you guys got to, too. By the way, they're available all over the valley. They had some great sales. I think you might still be able to get some great deals this week with it still being 420 week. But stop by your local dispensary and grab some amazing scratch-made THC GSIs from our friends at OGs. They have amazing flavors like orange crimsicle, which this one, over here loves, tropical and watermelon. And most importantly, they come in a variety of doses.
Starting point is 00:20:53 They have a brand new mini dose coming out of three milligram microdose option for those not wanting to dive right into their regular 10 milligram, which might be a bit much for some people, not for this guy. But those will be available on May 3rd. Of course, of course, if you're interested to try any of their doses, please check them out over at OGsbrands.com. They have an amazingly delicious variety of flavors, and that's at OG's brands, OGEE-E-Z brands.com to find OGs nearest you. Thank you, Rock, for the assist. Appreciate it, my friend. And of course, we do have still the future of this team to be excited about.
Starting point is 00:21:32 Orange Cremsicle sounds fire. Yeah, they're so good. Orange Cremsicle is fire. Sorry, I just had to comment on that. No, that's fine. That's fine. This is a derail conversation. The thing that's exciting here is that Seth's beer is becoming everything.
Starting point is 00:21:46 that we want Seth Beard to be. I'm obsessed with this man. I don't even, honestly, aside from his name and the excitement of eventually being able to buy his jersey at a major league level, I don't remember much talk about Seth Beer in the minor leagues. And that's not to take anything away from him in his career. I think it's just the fact that when you have the last name beer, it makes it hard for people not to immediately go, dude, that guy, number 30, that's what needs to happen.
Starting point is 00:22:11 That's all people think about. But Seth Beer has been better, I think, than we could. of imagine. Even last year, this year, he's been absolutely incredible. And he was doing big things in the series. The only thing that still confuses me
Starting point is 00:22:26 is why he hasn't played every single game. But Tori Laval is the only person that can answer to that question. Doesn't change the fact that for this series against the Washington Nationals, Seth Beer is our king of the series. Wee. Put that crown on the, it's always weird on the baseball player's helmets. But I think,
Starting point is 00:22:44 yeah, I think Lee had made that, right? Yeah, that's good. Yeah, that's good. Yeah. The crown place in. Six for 14, three RBI, a walk and a hit by pitch. Not, not great.
Starting point is 00:22:52 You didn't have a lot of guys on base, didn't contribute a huge amount to like that big 11th, but three, obviously three runs in that game, three RBI in that game. But he's just been very good and very consistent for this team. And I think, again, as we discussed earlier, the difference between him and some of the other guys that are struggling is just his aggressiveness, his nature to try to go out and hit the ball versus the patience that we're seeing a lot guys take with attempting to walk. Yeah, his aggressiveness at the plate is one of my favorite things about him and also his ability to be magic.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Like, that is a magical unicorn we have on our team. Yeah, he really is. He seems to come up so clutch in the most imperative moments in games and it's so cool to see. He almost, I mean, yeah, there was one where he didn't execute as much as we wanted him to in a clutch moment. But aside from that one, he is like a magical unicorn and he can execute when the diamondbacks need him to.
Starting point is 00:23:41 So I'm obsessed with that man in every way possible. he makes me so excited about Dinback's baseball. He became a folk hero so quickly, right? And I mean, again, it's a small sample size, but that's going to happen when your name is beer and you hit a walk-off home run on opening day. That was also National Beer Day. Like, you can't script that shit.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Like, that was amazing. Yeah, motion saying Seth Beer is why we need a DH. Yeah, he's right. And I mean, again. I'm still, I don't know how I feel about the DH in the National League, but I will say it's just accept it you don't have to like it but you will
Starting point is 00:24:21 it's not as bad as I thought if we saw Zach Grinke on the roster then I'd be really upset because I love watching Zach Grinkey try to hit a baseball but because we don't I think I'm a little bit more okay with it I'm still mad about not I want Madness above I know yeah I'm watching Madbone hit just D8 one is all I'm asking for but of course that's not the only one like again when you talk about the youth why
Starting point is 00:24:41 why this team is so excited for the future why they're being more patient than these guys are being at the plate with this team and the young guys coming up is because of what we're already seeing guys that are, you know, Jordan Lawler, Corbyn Carroll doing things last night. Alex Thomas went off a double, a triple and a walkoff grand slam to win the game. Are you kidding me? It's just absurd. Bring him up.
Starting point is 00:25:05 I'm ready. I wanted to give him king of the series. I have seen enough. I have seen enough of Alec Thomas in AAA baseball. I want him in a Diamondbacks uniform right now. Who do I need to call? I don't know. I think it's weird because some of the stuff from the, some of the stuff from, from minor league, or not minor league,
Starting point is 00:25:22 from spring training carried over in a different way, right? Like, yeah. The team was hitting really hot at the end of spring training, but then that fizzled out once we got to the regular season, right? Caleb Smith was a guy that the team had a very strong belief in now, and he's currently in Reno. I don't think that necessarily Alec Thomas having a slow start in spring training meant that he wasn't going to get things going at a major league level,
Starting point is 00:25:46 but they're being very careful with these guys, and they want to make sure that their confidence and everything is in the right place. Caution to the wind. Michaela would bring them all up. It'd be Corbyn, Carol, Christian Robinson, and Alex Thomas in the outfield, if it was up to this one over here. Yeah, sure would. I do want to give you guys, of course, my draft king's pick of the week,
Starting point is 00:26:03 and you're not going to like this one. So, Earmuffs, DeBacks fans, I guess, but I'm taking the Dodgers tonight over the Padres. They are a one and a half run favorite, and I'm taking them to cover the spread. Yeah, I know. It gets worse. Who are you?
Starting point is 00:26:17 And what have you done with Derek? Well, I'm a guy that likes to make money. I was on the Betts podcast today. Now I got a big head. I was calling myself the Pillsbury Doe Boy and Lewis Rich and stuff. So I'm also taking the Dodgers to have over four and a half runs, which kind of sounds a bit crazy against this Padres team. But I think the Dodgers are going to do it.
Starting point is 00:26:36 I think they really like to pummel the Padres. and remind them that they are nowhere close to being the elite team in this division, just like they kind of do to us. But we already know that. There's no confusion on our end when it comes to that. But you can also go, I'm going first inning first score. So first inning first score because those teams are going to score early and often in that game. And that's my thought.
Starting point is 00:27:03 But of course, you guys do what you want over the draft king sports book. Right now you guys can get down on all of the action. And not only can you get down on the live game betting on the Draft King Sportsbook, but most importantly, get down on the NBA action. Of course, our Phoenix Suns are the talk of the town right now, mostly because of what's going on with Devin Booker, but also because we still believe, we still believe in you, and new customers can bet $5 on the Sons or any team to win in the first round
Starting point is 00:27:30 and get $150 in free bets instantly. You win no matter what at the Draft King Sportsbook, even if your team loses. is existing customers like myself, we love the same game parleyes, of course. And I love betting big on the risk-free, $10 parlay that you get right now. Each day of the first round, get a risk-free bet up to $10. If your same-game parlay doesn't hit,
Starting point is 00:27:51 that means if you lose, you get your money back in a free bet, and then you can bet it again on something else. Go big, go or go home, right? So we're talking plus $1,000 is what we're trying to get on some of these same-game parlays because we're just betting $10 on it, right? So bet the suns to the moon. I want to hear you guys, of course, Espo contractually obligated because he paid me $10. I have to say throughout the playoffs, the Phoenix Suns are the best team in the NBA.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Suckett-Lakers and all the other teams. Speaking of which, wait, actually, we're doing a Suns watch party tomorrow at the Ainsworth. And the diamond backs ruined. I don't know how many times we're going to get to say that, but I'm going to say it as often as I can. again, it's a tough test. So at this point, I think much like this road trip,
Starting point is 00:29:38 you got to be happy with taking a seven-game road trip like this and walking away three and four with how this team was playing going into it. Absolutely. It's a win for me. It's a win in my book. I will take that. And I just want them to see, I just want to keep the bats hot.
Starting point is 00:29:52 I just need them to be offensive, consistent on offense. I'm having a hard to speaking English. We want a competent baseball team, right? I want the bats to keep being hot. I want them to keep generating offense. I want to see people run across home. Please, with the love of God, continue to generate offense so that I don't fall asleep anymore.
Starting point is 00:30:13 It's wild because it's like, it's like, oh, man, I hope the pitching can stay this good, but it doesn't feel like it can. And, oh, man, I hope the hitting isn't this bad because it doesn't feel like it can, right? Eventually, they got to meet somewhere in the middle. But come on home, get out to the ballpark, support your team. Absolutely. They're giving away the first giveaway this weekend, by the way, it's a hooded t-shirt. Looks pretty cool. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:36 I'll probably cut the sleeves off of it or something. Sure. You don't wear hoodies. Shutties. Shutties. Shutties. Shutties. We're going to have to have a whole talk about that.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Shoeties are awesome. So if it has a hood on it, it's great. It doesn't matter. I literally bought a hood that I could attach to other things. That's how much I love hoods. Yeah. Yeah, well, you know, you got to do what you got to do to stay. incognito in Arizona and also not be wearing an actual.
Starting point is 00:31:03 So why are they giving away something with a hood and it's 98 degrees outside? That's why it's a t-shirt? I feel like it's a little, but like what is the point of that? Like, why don't just give away a shirt? To protect yourself from the sun is what they're trying to do. That's hot. Wear a baseball hat. Well, they're not giving away bobble heads.
Starting point is 00:31:17 So by the way, despite the whole supply chain thing, I've seen you other teams with your bobble heads and don't think that I'm not keeping track Arizona Diamondbacks. I want my bono heads. I want my bobbleheads. I want my bobbleheads. I want my bobblehead. We thank you guys so much for checking out the show. Of course, you all deserve your bobbleheads too.
