PHNX Arizona Diamondbacks Podcast - POSTGAME: D-backs Bullpen BLOWS Late Lead To Rockies As Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Exits With Injury

Episode Date: May 23, 2026

The Arizona Diamondbacks’ season-high five-game winning streak came to an end Friday night in a 3-2 loss to the Colorado Rockies. Once again, Michael Soroka gave Arizona exactly what it needed, cont...inuing his dominance at Chase Field with another quality start while lowering his home ERA below 2.00. But the D-backs offense struggled to deliver timely hits, and the usually dependable bullpen faltered late as Colorado erased Arizona’s slim lead. The biggest concern, however, may be the status of Lourdes Gurriel Jr., who exited in the seventh inning with left hamstring tightness after making a terrific defensive play in left field. We have more from the clubhouse on Gurriel’s injury, Soroka’s impressive outing, the bullpen’s late collapse, and the unbelievable story of a fan catching home run balls from the same player on back-to-back nights at Chase Field. Starting point is 00:00:00 Well, the Diamondbacks got excellent starting pitching tonight, and that's pretty much all they got. A lack of offense and bullpen blowing things late caused the Diamondbacks to end their five-game winning streak and lose tonight by a score of three to two to the Rockies. We're talking about all of it right now, including updates on Lordus Gurriel's injury. Don't you go anywhere.
Starting point is 00:00:29 Well, it's a sad night on a Friday night. We thought we would be super hype, but instead we're sad in Studio K, presented by our friends of Circle K. This is the PHNX Diamondbacks postgame show. My name is Derek Montia, occasionally known as your mayor of PHMX. I'm thrilled to have you guys here, but not thrilled with the results of tonight's game, Diamondbacks lose. Game two of this four games set at Chase Field with Colorado Rockies by a score of 3 to 2.
Starting point is 00:00:55 I'm not alone, and I'm also not going to be the only one sad in this studio tonight. I got my guy, Damon dog, your dog, my dog, everyone's dog, on the ones and twos tonight. And Damon, this loss felt bad because, maybe the winning has made my expectations change and the way that this game went watching it didn't feel like a loss. But things spiraled out of control quickly in the end and the Diamondbacks somehow lose this one three to two. Yeah, there's nothing worse, Eric. And this is obviously like very like inside baseball here, but like there's nothing worse than a Friday night post game show loss. From the perspectives of the two fellas that run this show.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Yeah. We like our vibes to be high on a Friday. like our vibes to be high on a Friday night, but also, you know, like, we had this, it looked like a win. It didn't end up being a win. Yeah. And now the vibes are low on a Friday night, like when we should be on top of the world. It stinks. But I'm happy to be here with all of you, all you find people here in the chat.
Starting point is 00:01:57 Vousen says it's mad windy outside right now. That's not helping either. Yeah, it feels very apocalyptic out there. But of course, this show is brought to you by our friends at Bet365, which always make games like this more fun, win or lose. Bet 365, we're winning is everything. Go download that app today and use our code at PHNX365. Get yourself some bonus bets. We're also brought to you by GameTime.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Download the GameTime app, create an account and use code PHNX for $20 off your first purchase. Terms do apply and perhaps use that to get a ticket tomorrow. Tomorrow might be a great opportunity to go see the Diamondbacks perhaps turn things around and get yourself one of these nifty purple Serpientz jerseys that I'm rocking right now. I very much like this thing. And of course, you grab yourself one. For those asking, 90 minutes prior to Gates opening is probably how early you should arrive. But it's going to be hot tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:02:49 So make sure you hydrate and make sure you come prepared for sure. Sunscreen. Yeah, sunscreen and water. Water. You know I'm big on water around here. So the Diamondback season high five game winning streak has come to an end. They dropped to 26 and 24. And they are now six and two in their last eight games.
Starting point is 00:03:07 and nine and four since May 9th. They were tied coming into tonight's game for the most wins over that stretch with the Braves and the Brewers. I believe both of those teams won tonight, so the Diamondbacks now kind of dropped back. But they are still 16 and 10 at Chase Field, and they've been very, very good there.
Starting point is 00:03:25 But Michael Soroka has been incredible at home, and he was incredible again tonight. DeBack's got another incredible start at home from Michael Soroka. And the offense, while still not powerful, strung together some hits for some runs and took a late lead into the eighth inning when the bullpen caved in and gave up two runs and the lead for a three to two loss. This one, of course, is on both the offense and, you know, the bullpen for what happened.
Starting point is 00:03:56 We knew the bullpen had been good. In fact, it felt like talking about how good the bullpen has been was going to inevitably lead to a game like this. But even in this kind of, you know, implosion by the bullpen, they still only gave up two runs. And really, the Diamondback should be able to score far more than two runs against the Colorado Rockies team that has the worst ERA in all of baseball. But I'm sure Colorado has a lot to do with that.
Starting point is 00:04:27 The Diamondback's offense got things going in the second inning a little bit. And a little bit is what I mean. Lordus Gurriel had both of the teams RBI tonight, and he was a big part of the offense. Also, Lordus Guriel may be lost to injury after leaving the game in the seventh inning with left hamstring tightness. But we'll get to that here shortly. In the second inning, Nolan Arnato hit a double, his tenth of the season. Vargas moves him the third on a flyout in Gurriel, brought him home with a sack fly to give the snakes an early one-to-nothing lead.
Starting point is 00:04:57 And then in the fourth inning, it was more manufacturing of runs. Geraldo Perdomo walked to lead off the inning. And then with one out, Vargas moved him over to second with a ground out. and Goreal Jr. once again delivered, brought home another run with an RBI single to put the Dbacks up by a score of 2 to nothing at that time. But there were plenty of missed opportunities for this team offensively, including another instance where the Diamondbacks had multiple runners on and won out and hit into an ending ending double play. So you had, of course, with the game tied two to two late after the Colorado Rockies managed to score run in the top of the eighth. Corbyn Carroll hit a lead-off single. That really wasn't a single.
Starting point is 00:05:37 It was more of what you would consider to be conventionally and out, but Corbyn Carroll somehow beat it out with his speed. And that allowed Corbyn to extend his season high hitting streak to 10 games, which is the third longest active streak in Major League Baseball right now. And he also has a 12-game hitting streak against the Rockies. Ferdomo moved him to second with a sackbund, and then Arnato got hit by a pitch.
Starting point is 00:06:01 So we had two on with one out. and Vargas hit into the inning ending double play, something we've seen from this offense entirely too often over this last week. Luckily, they've been able to overcome it prior to tonight's game, but tonight that missed opportunity was a big one, right? The Diamondbacks aren't able to get any runs there in the bottom of the ninth inning after giving up a run in the top of the inning and lose this one by a score of three to two. And the Diamondbacks were getting some incredible defense tonight. A lot of it was from Lordus Guerriel Jr. He made a really nice catch at the wall in the first inning on a ball hit by Hunter Goodman. I don't think it would have been a home run, but it very much looked like it was going to be a home run.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Lordus, when he kind of rob someone gently like he did, it's just a reminder of how long he is once he's standing, you know, straight up and puts his arm up, you know, at the wall, right? So again, I'm not sure I didn't get a chance to watch a clean replay of that. it did very much look like Lordus's glove was above the wall, but I'm waiting to hear from you guys, so let me know what you thought if that was a home run at the wall or not, because it did look at least for a moment there, like Lordus had maybe robbed one. But again, he Cattell followed that up with a slick grab on a grounder from Rumfield to an inning there early on, and then he made another really nice sliding catch in the sixth inning. but at what cost?
Starting point is 00:07:27 Because Lordus makes that sliding grab in the sixth inning in left field. And after that play was made, you know, again, he makes the catch. Everything looks great. But Lordus stayed on his knees on the field wincing in pain. The trainer and Tori Lavolo both ran out what appeared to be full speed out to left field to go check on Lordus. And after talking to him for a while, he was essentially removed from the game and replaced with Jorge Barrowo. And even though the Diamondbacks lost the game tonight, the loss of Guriel might be much more significant. Here is Tori Lobolo talking about Lordus Guriel's injury.
Starting point is 00:08:08 The injury to Gurry's left hamstring, I know we talk to you guys, is going to be evaluated tomorrow. So we'll categorize him as day to day. And that's unfortunate. We're trying to figure out what that means, and we're just going to have to give you guys information as it comes to us but he'll get evaluated tomorrow and i'll get you guys update as soon as possible will you get imaging tomorrow yes he will yes is there a concern yes yes there's a small concern uh maybe maybe i'm kind of like right in the middle type of concern yeah not high not low right in the middle so now you know um um
Starting point is 00:08:55 That doesn't, that's not very encouraging. It's also not discouraging, is it? I mean, he didn't say it was. Right down the middle. Yeah, exactly. It's right down the middle, right? So I think that the first, my initial reaction was, it was good to see Lordus walk off the field and not get carted off the field with his knee injury. And that was my initial concern when I saw him out there.
Starting point is 00:09:18 I am very, very far away in the press box. So someone had asked what the injury was. I was like, I have no clue. You guys have a much better idea based on the broadcast, getting a close up of their discussion. Yeah, yeah. As far as you're concerned, I mean, it could be him reagravating something. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:09:35 But, you know, it was good news to hear because his torn ACL was in his right knee. So this is at least the other leg. And that is good news. And hearing that it was hamstring tightness, at least was a little, I mean, it made me feel a little okay. but then I realized how aggravating and how long, like how aggravating that injury can be, how long it took for Cattell to get over and how Cotell re-agravated it even after he came back
Starting point is 00:10:06 from that injury and once again had to miss time. So it is the left handstring. It was left hamstring tightness. And again, we do not really have much of an update as far as what is going to happen with Lourdes. But we have more from Lourdes in the clubhouse here. He is talking about the injury and I think maybe the next steps. I think they were said they were going to get testing done tomorrow. Here's what Lordis had to say. Lordis, can you just let us know how, what happened out there and how you're feeling? What was what happened out there and how you're feeling?
Starting point is 00:10:36 Nothing, when I went for the ball, when I went for the ball, we just saw a little tightness in the left hamstring. How serious I think it is? What's how serious you consider that? Well, we'll put it on the morning, no. It doesn't seem to be too serious. We'll just wait and see the results for tomorrow. Does it happen on the slide or when you were running to get to the ball?
Starting point is 00:11:07 When you were running? When I was running. Are they going to do tests tomorrow or are they just going to see how you feel in the morning? There's a lot. So obviously, an exam that is programmed or simply to be a test tomorrow. So obviously we'll have updates on Lourdes' hamstring tomorrow and maybe more of a timetable as far as his return is concerned. As bad as this is to lose Lourdes, I mean, at the very least, the Diamondbacks do have some reinforcements coming in the next two weeks in the form of Jordan Lawler. So that's at least a little comforting.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Plus, you know, right now, Barossa has been good, at least defensively out there in center field, allowing Walshmet to play left field. We all know that the future of this team, the future of this outfield, most likely is Walsh, Schmidt, Loller, and Corbyn. And again, not to say that Lourdes wasn't going to factor in there as an outfielder, but, you know, at the very least, there were going to be some roster crunch issues with outfielders. and this might have taken care of itself, at least in the temporary, until Lordus comes back, right? But at the same time, I also hate this for Gurriel
Starting point is 00:12:22 because I felt like he was finally starting to put things together. He was the main contributor to the offense tonight. He was one for one with two RBI and the sack fly. And again, he was a big, he felt like he's been coming on. He made some great defensive plays. It just sucks to see him have to potentially miss more time
Starting point is 00:12:40 and then have to come back again and then get back in the swing of things as far as baseball is concerned. But I will tell you, man, the offense tonight was something. We're going to get to the bullpen. We're going to get to the pitching. But, you know, you got to pick, I guess, which you feel has more to blame for this loss. The bullpen, even though they've been perfect, you can't expect them to continue to be perfect. And, you know, scoring two runs against this Rockies team does seem a little, you know, a little bit of a,
Starting point is 00:13:13 underperformance, right, Damon? I mean, I don't know. Oh, totally. I mean, even last night's win, they didn't score that many runs, right? So it's like, it's not like they've been scoring a ton of runs, even during this five-game stretch where they won games. They've just been getting some excellent pitching, and they've been winning low-scoring games.
Starting point is 00:13:31 And, I mean, they have an occasional blowout, like the 12-run game against the Giants. I'm not going to act like those also haven't been in there, but a lot of their games this year have been one-run games or close games that have been not very high-scoring. Yeah, you got to score more than, two against the Rockies. I want to point out that Shigano is, I mean, a 402 ERA, which will be lower now after this
Starting point is 00:13:51 outing. Right. And that's pitching in Colorado. I was going to say, is like a 392 in Colorado? Is that like, like, a two, five everywhere else? Probably. Like, is this guy, is it actually skein-skeens, scuba Shigano? Like, is that, is that really the top three?
Starting point is 00:14:08 The Rockies are very excited about him. Rockies fans like that guy a lot. I know our DNVR brothers over there did like a sugar hill gang thing for him. And I really like that. And I think we've lost both games that we played against him, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, yeah. We have. He's been very good.
Starting point is 00:14:23 He's been very good. You know, tomorrow, you know, you look at those probable pictures. Of course, sponsored by 1AZ credit union. And I think, you know, you say Michael Lorenzen is someone that you got to take big time advantage of. Yes. So, you know what? Let's leave this one in the past. Let's flush it.
Starting point is 00:14:41 long as you get the W tomorrow. Yeah. Because it's kind of unacceptable, I think, for Zach Allen to go out there and get out dueled by a bum as bad as Michael Lorenzen. More importantly, Damon, tomorrow night is like the color purple is on the line. I know we were in our Serpienti's jerseys, but we're giving this jersey away tomorrow further reinforcing that we want full ownership rights over the color purple in baseball. And I mean, I really think that that needs to be stakes tied to this.
Starting point is 00:15:08 We won the rivalry weekend. So I think we own that purple fur coat that they were using for home runs, but somehow us beating them has caused neither team to hit home runs, and that's really what's been going on. But here's Tori talking about the offense or the lack thereof and their inability to kind of string together those complementary hits. Yeah, it's stacking them on top of one another. That's what you've got to do.
Starting point is 00:15:32 We had some hard hit balls. I'm thinking of the Aeronado ball, the Pernomo ball. We had a few balls that were hit real good, right at somebody. And you're right, we had a good approach. I'm not, what we were talking about two weeks ago, it's nothing even close. We check off a pitch as we get in a good hitting counts, and we just couldn't put everything together at one time.
Starting point is 00:15:55 And I thought, you know, the way we came in today, the way the vibe of this team, the way things were moving, I thought we were going to have a really nice offensive day. Unfortunately, did not happen. Noel Narato one for three tonight with a double a run scored and a hit by pitch. Ryan Walschmidt, the only player to record a two hit night. He was two for three. And Ketel Marte one for four with a double. So just not a lot of offense overall.
Starting point is 00:16:23 And, you know, Lourdes essentially was your top performer there by scoring both of your runs in this game. Not to say it wasn't good to see Lourdes finally, you know, deliver in those kind of big moments. But we just, we needed more than that, man. and especially, you know, I hate to say it, but it feels like Ildemar Vargas has come back down to Earth and he is no longer Barry Bond, Damon, because I feel like he has been the one
Starting point is 00:16:46 that's hit into that inning-ending double play a few times over this stretch. And the reason why I know that is because of how excited I was that Vargy was the guy coming up to the plate with bases loaded or runners-on in a big moment. Yeah, yeah, I think it's two and two nights, if I'm not mistaken. So definitely not.
Starting point is 00:17:04 I'm not Ildemarovarvars that we've become a little bit more accustomed to seeing so far this season. I'm hoping that what you just said right there causes you to now have to do apologies on every post-game show for doubting Il-Damarro Vargas and saying, I think that maybe that the Linsanity run is over essentially. That's what I'm suggesting. Correct. And I want Lidomero Vargas to listen to that. See and hear who said that about you and make this a dual apology situation right here on the PHNXD back. post-game shows. We'll both appellate. I would probably doing that. Let's just, we'll do dueling apologies to see who can apologize to Bargians for. Who can do it better?
Starting point is 00:17:42 Yeah. Well, I actually am way more sorry than you because I disagree. I think I am far more sorry than you are and I don't believe that you have any proof to suggest otherwise. But I do want to say, though, it's not only El-Domar of Argus, like Perdomo hits the ball in Tori mentions it. He has one that goes 103.2 off the bat. night, Derek, that ended up eating and out. And another one that with the, with runners on late in
Starting point is 00:18:11 the game, with a chance to, or not late in the game, but in the fifth inning with a chance to put some insurance runs on. And he hits that one 94.7 off the bat with a 570 XBA. And obviously 94 miles per hour off the bat is not like insane, but it was it was lifted just a little bit too high into the outfield or else it would have scored a run. And then I think this game maybe looks a little bit different if it's three to, you know, one. Yeah. Going into the later portions, like maybe that's all the Diamondbacks would have needed to
Starting point is 00:18:41 to get the W tonight. And so it's unfortunate because I feel like we've been waiting on these Pardomo moments. And it seems like he hit the ball hard enough to have those moments tonight. But unfortunately, the nature of baseball sometimes is you hit the ball right at people. And that's kind of what happened with Pardomo. It felt like the Dianbex got a little bit unfortunate with how hard they were hitting the ball. and I'm sure the numbers, when we look at the by the numbers, we'll, we'll show that and kind of highlight that a little bit more.
Starting point is 00:19:10 But yeah, not a good night from the offense tonight whatsoever. And it feels like really all the nights recently that we've been sitting up here being like not good offense, the complimentary baseball, the complimentary offense, the stacking hits on top of one another has been the problem. Yeah. Because you're getting base runners. You're just not capitalizing on those base runners. A lot of times with your best hitters,
Starting point is 00:19:34 up in those moments too. And so, yeah, you got to figure out a way to stack a little bit better. I have a true concern about this team's ability to hit home runs lately. I mean, I know that they're not nearly as bad as I feel like they are as a team. But, you know, the power is really gone. And that's why I had a problem with people being like, the debacks are moving away from the swing and miss offense. And I'm like, the swing and miss offense that was the best offense in the league. I'm a little bit confused as to why we're trying to move away from that.
Starting point is 00:20:04 offense. I really, like, I really just wish that the one thing they could find is a left-handed power bat at this point. Would be huge. You know, it just be Yorda on Alvarez. For this team. But again, the situational hitting, Jason talked about it. He, if you scroll up there a little bit, Damon in the comments. Um, he brought up our gonzo interview. And, uh, that gonzo essentially is also kind of, um, frustrated with the situational hitting, wishing it was better, wishing they were more patient, taking more pitches in these at bats, waiting for their pitch and, you know, they, they, they didn't do that tonight for sure. Yeah. Also, I don't know what the hell's going on with Jose Fernandez, but they either need to send him back down or they need to play
Starting point is 00:20:45 him in baseball games. Pinch hitting him constantly and bringing him in late is not the answer. And again, I know it's a tough, like, it's a tough roster to juggle for Tori, right? And Jose Fernandez, people are figuring him out a little bit, right? But also, pinch hitting is very hard as Jack Summers tweeted. Jack tweeted Jose Fernandez 0 for seven as a pinch hitter with three strikeouts on a sack punt. Pinch hitting is hard. Not great. It's hard. He did lift one tonight, which like he he got a decent amount of that baseball. It just wasn't hit hard enough by like a tick. So I'll give him a little bit of credit for that spot. But I would like to see him play a little bit more. Absolutely. I agree. Well, we're going to take a quick break. As P. C. Yoshi says,
Starting point is 00:21:30 sorry to cut you off again, but ADC like hasn't been. hasn't been doing it. So I feel like even though it's the righty, you know, righty on righty matchup, like I wouldn't, I wouldn't be mad at seeing Jose Fernandez get a little bit more of those opportunities. I agree, man. I agree. We just need to try something new. And, you know, I do think that at times, Tori is a little too slow to react. I don't know whose comment it was, but someone suggested that Gabby Moreno, who's been having a good week, is hitting in the seventh hole. Meanwhile, Vargas is struggling. I think Ernesto said it. And he's right. And he's right. right you know and again it's like i know you can't just instantly react to these things but you got to
Starting point is 00:22:10 kind of start looking at the trends and start adapting faster you can't you know you you can't be so slow to make these moves just like you know him going to the bullpen and such at times got be a little bit faster about making those moves but we are going to talk about the bullpen imploding a little bit and michael saroka being outstanding at chase field on the other side of this break don't you guys go anywhere you're watching the ph next diamond back show Well, tonight is a night where I need pure edibles more than ever to get over a loss like this. And of course, pure edibles has a wide variety of effects. So I know exactly what I'm getting into based on which tin in my collection I'm going to look at.

They also have hard candies. They have chews, which are soft candies like carmels. And they also have their version of Starburst, which they call kicks. Plus, they have new additions all the time. And, of course, they have sleep support.
Starting point is 00:23:11 They have uplifting effects. They have all sorts of wonderful effects, again, that are listed clearly on each tin. They also have their collaboration with Mother Road Brewing Company, where they bring you the Tower Station IPA all in one. This new offering captures the crisp citrus and piney hops of Arizona's favorite IPA, but with a smooth THC twist all-in-one device, no pouring, no waiting, just a good tasting high. whenever you want it.

Go find yourself some pure edibles products from one of over 150 dispensaries across Arizona. We just got light show going on now. That's what this is a little about.

Well, I don't know how he keeps doing this, but Michael Soroka gave the debacks another quality start tonight, and he was once again, lights out at home. And tonight he wasn't getting a lot of strikeouts. He got some swing and miss, but still only two strikeouts on the night. But he was getting a lot of ground ball outs. And he didn't want to talk to me about how he was doing that because I asked him after the game. But he got nine ground ball outs out of the 18 outs he recorded. And again, I feel like it's Soroka's ability to adapt. I could be completely wrong on this because I tried to ask him and thought it was going to get some cool answer. And he just told me he goes up there and pitches. But. he does it he seems to be able to do it in different ways right he has those multiple 10 strikeout games
Starting point is 00:25:43 but he also has games like this where he's able to give the diamond back's length go out there and give them a quality start and just be effective and get a lot of ground ball outs he only allowed two singles through his first four innings pitched and his only jam and the only run he allowed was in the fifth inning where he started it off with giving up a pair of singles and then he hit Sterlin Thompson, who somehow became the star of tonight's game. And the guy was hitting, guys hitting him 100, and he was somehow the guy that beat us. But they load the bases. He loads the bases. Mound visit occurs with Kaplan coming out there to talk to him. And Soroka comes back out.
Starting point is 00:26:19 He strikes out Chad Stevens, gives up a sack fly RBI to the one, the only Jake McCarthy, because of course Jake McCarthy has to hurt us. And he got good men to ground out to end the inning with only allowing. the one run on the sack fly by Jake McCarthy. So impressive job of Soroka to get out of the jam that he created for himself. And it was all about the slurve and the four seam for him tonight. He used the slurve 36% of the outing. He used the four seam 35%. He used the change up 14%, the sinker 10%, the cutter 5%. Damon, I think I sent you the pitch chart, but that might have been too late. So if you have that, no big deal if not. But the concern tonight seemed to be a little bit about
Starting point is 00:27:01 his velocity. Now he did max out at 93.9 miles per hour, which is below his normal max, but he average low too. As you can see here, though, he kept that slurve down. Like, look at where all of those slurbs primarily landed. Like so many of them landed out of the strike zone, not even looking really competitive, but this pitch, this is such a good pitch, this slider curveball that it gets a lot of grounds. out, you know, and it looks like it's going to land in the zone, and you can see where it lands and why it's such a bad pitch to swing at. And again, it was effective. He got three whiffs tonight on the slurve, two on the four seam, one on the changeup, two on the sinker. He got eight
Starting point is 00:27:45 whiffs total spread around and he threw an excellent mix of pitches, but still only two strikeouts on the night. And again, there was some concern after the game in regards to his velocity and some of the things he was saying about being fatigued. And that was the reason. And that was the reason that Tori pulled him out of the game at only 78 pitches. But he still gave the Diamondback six innings, only four hits allowed, gave up one earn run, no walks, and two strikeouts. So excellent stuff tonight from Michael Soroka. And again, even on a night where didn't have that strikeout prowess, he definitely still was able to get outs and be very, very effective. First, let's hear from Soroka on his outing.
Starting point is 00:28:26 it's all right yeah a little slower than usual and still had some life and again we navigated that pretty well and again guys made some great place behind me and needed him tonight so yeah it was a bit of a grinder an outing but we came through it all right more importantly here he is talking about
Starting point is 00:28:49 only throwing 78 pitches in this outing especially considering how things were going you know it felt like he could have at least got one more inning of work in. Yeah, I think a little bit. I think we just discussed again. We were kind of pushed up against the wall a little bit. I think we got through what we needed and, yeah, I wanted to hand it off.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Well, here is Tori going into a little bit more detail on the decision to pull stroke at 78 pitches and his night overall. Yeah, it was a little light. There's a couple buzzwords I hear when I'm talking to cats. who's getting some information. He talked about feeling a little bit fatigued and, you know, tiring. And that was VLO was down, and I have to add up a lot of things quickly. Coming out of Colorado, I don't keep making it a big deal,
Starting point is 00:29:41 but, you know, I want to protect these guys. And it's a real thing, you know, I know I get laughed at because of the Colorado effect. But you look at Soroku's pumping 94s and 95s, and it's VLO is down to 91-92. that to me is a sign. When I hear the word fatigue, I was going to cut up short for sure. And Tori talked about how, you know, in certain cases, I believe maybe this was even before the game, how like Greg Popovich with the Spurs,
Starting point is 00:30:12 wouldn't even take certain players even into Denver because of the altitude. Like, that's sincerely how badly it can mess you up as an athlete. So there is some concern there. Plus, when you look at his forcing fastball, he averaged 92 miles per hour tonight, and his yearly average is nearly 94. So those two factors combined and with Soroka probably admitting that he was getting a little tired, that all led to him being removed from this game. And again, he was still outstanding tonight. Michael Soroka is not the reason why this team lost, but you kind of feel like maybe if he gave him another inning, perhaps we don't see, you know, what we ended up seeing, which is,
Starting point is 00:30:55 Mordio kind of imploding and Ryan Thompson being used probably a little too much in this one and that also going sideways on them. But, you know, this one, again, it was a very good night for Michael Soroka. And of course, in this kind of game, Michael Soroka is our king snake. Six innings pitch, one earn run, four hits against, and one quality start. Michael Soroka now has allowed six earned runs in 34 and a third innings pitched at Chase Field. His home ERA is 1.57. It is the lowest all-time ERA by Diamondback's starting pitcher within their first six starts with the team. Six home starts with the team.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Crazy statistics, Derek. I saw someone up here in the chat, getting mad at Tori for pulling Soroka at 78 pitches. I think it's a little bit of misplaced anger, which is typical with Tori. And we talk about that a lot. Like, yeah, indifference news here saying Tori clip and Soroka at under 80 pitches on an offensive off night is a clown move. It's to avoid injury. And our guy, Alex Dagestino tweeted about it as well during the game, Derek said, I'm not exactly thrilled that Sorokalee being out of the game after 78 pitches.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Fastball Velo was way down tonight and command has been a bit spotty. And, you know, Alex was kind of, I think trying to get out ahead of it and be like, this isn't Tori being like, you know who gives us a better chance of winning? whoever we're pulling out of the bullpen versus Michael Soroka. This is Tori being like, you know what I'm going to try to do? Protect my guy long term who has been a really,
Starting point is 00:32:33 really good addition to this team so far this season. We don't want him to, you know, get a worse injury, hurt himself, hurt that arm and debilitate what we're trying to do moving forward. So, yeah, I mean, I think it's, I'm not sure that that's on Tori. And honestly, it's more so just on your bullpen
Starting point is 00:32:50 just has to get the job done. And they have been and they didn't tonight. And obviously the offense needs to be better as well. But yeah, I mean, it's, I'm not concerned about like Tori pulling Soroka or anything. Here's the thing. I do think that there's like a lot of factors here, right? Juan Murillo hadn't pitched in five days, six days, I believe, something like that. And they brought him in back, you know, yesterday.
Starting point is 00:33:17 He was not very good yesterday, brought him back out tonight to, give him that chance to come back and get some more innings and get back into the groove of what he was doing early in the season. Morillo was their most valuable weapon, weapon so far out of the bullpen. And now suddenly his last two games have been terrible. A bit of that has been due to the lack of usage. You could probably say the same thing about Ryan Thompson. Ryan Thompson pitched for the first time tonight since May 18th. Like that's not a ton of time ago, but these relievers aren't getting the work that they used to get. And maybe you could argue that part of the reason why they were in such a groove was because
Starting point is 00:34:00 how often Tori had to go to them. So the downside to the starting pitching giving them such amazing quality starts and such length is the lack of work for the bullpen. And I don't know if that's to blame here. I almost felt like that was like when you talk about your crazy conspiracy theories as to why Tori pulled, you know, Soroka early. Mine was that he wanted to give the bullpen more work. So, yeah, sometimes we think stupid things, right?
Starting point is 00:34:27 But, you know, again, hearing that the bullpen has kind of had a problem with getting innings, you know, him turning to the bullpen so early, you come up with your own reasons for it until you hear from the people themselves why the decision was made. But again, Taylor Clark came in. He allowed two base runners, but still got two out. And Tori didn't hesitate to go to Brandon Garcia there to get one out in the inning to end the seventh. He was trying to utilize guys properly, even if he was only going to use them for a third of an inning. And same thing with Morillo.
Starting point is 00:35:03 Morillo comes back out. He walks his first batter after struggling last night. Then that runner advances on a pass ball. Then he gives up an RBI double to Rimfield to tie the game at two. Finally gets his first out with Freeman grounding out to Arnato, which was a good thing because that kept Rumfield. over at second. And then he struck out his final batter before Tori pulled him.
Starting point is 00:35:23 He went two thirds of an inning, give up one hit, one earn run, one walk, one strikeout. It's not great, but it's not exactly like he went out there and shit the bed and gave up five earned runs, right? Then Ryan Thompson, again,
Starting point is 00:35:35 who pitched for the first time since May 18th, got the job done in the eighth inning, he comes in and closes the door. But then, I mean, in my opinion, the most questionable Tory move was letting Ryan Thompson come back out
Starting point is 00:35:48 for the ninth. that was the most questionable move. And that is nothing on Ryan Thompson. It's just, again, Tori has been, he hasn't had any problem over this stretch where this bullpen has been so effective, going to guys for simply one out
Starting point is 00:36:04 and then turning the next inning over to the next reliever. In this case, I'm sure Paul Seawald wasn't available because it wasn't a safe situation and because he has been pitching a lot of innings, Tori probably wanted to shut him down and not have him come out, you know, to try to hold this one. But Jonathan Loisaga, who has become my elevator buddy,
Starting point is 00:36:23 we discussed carpooling together today on the way in. He definitely was available and probably should have come into the game. What was more frustrating for me was after Ryan Thompson gave up the earned run on an RBI single to Chad Stevens to give the Rockies the lead, that's when Tori gets Loisigga up in the bullpen, I think with two outs in the inning. and I just kind of laughed at the idea that, oh, you're going to get him up now. You know what I mean? Like Ryan Thompson probably you shouldn't have come out for the ninth.
Starting point is 00:36:54 It's easy. You know, it's easy to look back and play, you know, quarterback here, couch quarterback. But I just didn't like the move in the first place. Like when Thompson came back out, I remember saying to my guy Alex next to me like, oh, Thompson's back out. You know, I don't know exactly. It didn't exactly think of someone better in the moment. but it felt like perhaps at that point would have been a good time to turn it over to a different arm. That's because Ryan, you know, gives up the one-out double to Sterling Thompson again.
Starting point is 00:37:27 And then he gives up the RBI single to Chad Stevens. So he does get through the inning, but the Diamondbacks lose the lead and lose the game overall. Here's Tori talking about this loss and, you know, all the things that, all the bad things that happened in this one. So, yeah, a little bit of frustration today. And offensively, you know, we obviously want to go out there and put up big points. And we're in position to win another close game. But, you know, they made pitches when they had to, kept our offense in a situation where we couldn't get that big hit. And it's just part of the game.
Starting point is 00:38:04 It was a little bit frustrating, for sure. You know, the starting pitching in Soroka was fantastic. He gave us everything that he possibly could, turned it over the bullpen and just got nicked up. We made a couple mistakes. and sometimes in these close games, there's certain margins that you got to win. And when you don't, that's what happens. So we lose a tough one-run game.
Starting point is 00:38:23 It sticks. I want us to win every game that we play. I felt like we had some opportunities today, but we just couldn't get that big hit. We built a couple innings. And once again, it was the same thing against our starting pitcher in Colorado. He ends up going seven strong innings and shuts us down.
Starting point is 00:38:41 So we got to regroup tomorrow. We've got to win a ball game. and that's all we can focus on. Well, we have a little bit more from Michael Soroka on the direction of this team currently, as well as some numbers that, once again, I mean, you could call it numbers, but there's not a lot of numbers on there.
Starting point is 00:38:59 We call it by the numbers, but it's just more by the ones and twos. We're going to talk about all of that. On the other side of this break, don't you go anywhere, you're watching the PHNX Diamondback show. Well, I got the white gloves on, and you know what time it is.
Starting point is 00:39:14 It's time for Don Julio, and this time we're even cracking the bottle, the box open a little bit. Look at this beauty. Look at this thing. If you're going to make me wear the gloves, I'm going to show the bottle off. No, I respect it.
Starting point is 00:39:27 It's very important too, because this bottle is iconic. And they have three different options for the World Cup over there at Don Julio with this wonderful bottle of 1942. And that's because the biggest sporting event in the world is right here in our backyard. And when the biggest sporting event in the world
Starting point is 00:39:43 comes to your backyard, you toast with the eye, icon of celebration, and that is Don Julio 1942 during the 2026 World Cup. They have three iconic bottles like this. Of course, they have the original, which is the icon of celebrations. They have this beautiful trophy edition for legends on and off the field like Damon and myself. And then there's the mini for small but iconic moments. Like when we actually win.
Starting point is 00:40:10 Like Anthony Tootry. Oh. I see what you did there because he's a little fella. Yeah, exactly. The trophy, everyone can take home, even Anthony Totry. Take home a special edition of Don Julio, 1942, that honors the artistry of tequila making and is a symbol as timeless as a beautiful game itself,
Starting point is 00:40:28 inspired by the FIFA World Cup trophy. Beyond the lookout for U.S. men's national team watch parties, including those from us right here at PH&X. We're going to be having a lot of fun this summer watching the World Cup. Join us for that. Me and Damon are going to win this trophy, by the way. Whether you're at your favorite spot or stocking up for home, make it a Don Julio 1942.
Starting point is 00:40:48 And the Window Depot is now open in Surprise, Arizona, and that makes it easier than ever for West Valley residents to get exactly what they need when they need it to get started on their home projects, renovation, or anything else you need to get done around your home. I have lots of projects to get them. I have tiles falling off of the wall in my bathroom shower. That's fun.
Starting point is 00:41:11 That's fun to deal with as a homeowner, right? So I got to go pick up some supplies And the Window Depot is the place to do it Figure it out, Derek I know, I got to figure it out I'm not good at that stuff Again, during the regular season I don't spend a lot of time at home
Starting point is 00:41:24 You know that Damon That's what the Window Depot's for That's definitely what they're for Because of course I can get started on all these projects I need to get started on them this weekend So probably make a trip out there And one of the benefits is that I can check their inventory online To see if they have what I need in stock
Starting point is 00:41:39 And let me tell you, Window Depot has everything you need Whether it's Windows, which they are experts in, but they have far more than just windows. Countertops, cabinet, sinks, replacing your kitchen, replacing your bathroom, everything that you need to get these projects done, they have it there, and they have it for less. It's the reason why contractors love the window depot.
Starting point is 00:41:58 They have job site ready quantities plus unbeatable low prices. So shop online and pick up in store, browse and order directly at the window depot with real-time access to in-stock products at your nearest location, get what you need when you need it, the window depot, more than just a window. Shout out to our super chatters tonight there. Yeah, let's go. We got AZ Catch G, $5 supporting club members. There's no reason to overanalyze this game.
Starting point is 00:42:22 We lost this game a few months ago when we traded away Jake McCarthy. And that's the other aspect of this that we've kind of, I guess, under talked about tonight, which is that. And really all throughout the season so far, which is that, you know, Jake is proving Mike Hazen and the Diamondbacks wrong and in showing them that. they made a bad decision when it came to him versus Alec Thomas. That's true. And to be fair, I was very pro-A-I-in that. I was going to say, this program cannot claim any kind of difference of opinion. Yeah, no, no, it's, I mean, I definitely was more, had more belief in Alec, more faith
Starting point is 00:42:59 in Alec, and Jake's pretty clearly the better hitter when it comes to him versus Alex. Here's my concern when Jake McCarthy starts to flourish in Colorado or continues to flourish, and Alec Thomas somehow becomes an all-star for the Dodgers. What are we to think of us at that point? Right? Because you can say that about Jake, but if it was flip-flopped and the Diamondbacks traded Alec Thomas and kept Jake, would Jake be doing what he's doing for the Rockies?
Starting point is 00:43:27 I don't know. Maybe, maybe not. You know, like there's just no way to know based on the environment, the situation, the organization you're with, how you're going to do, right? Like I still just remember watching Jake last year thinking that he was completely lost, you know. And again, that's the reason why organizations don't give up on players as fast as fans want them to, right? It's just a completely different animal when you are the one making those decisions internally for a baseball team.
Starting point is 00:44:00 And, you know, you want to believe in guys. You want to give them time to turn things around. But, you know, both Jake and Alec had plenty of opportunities to do so. here. And, you know, I think that it's fair to say that neither one of them really were making any headway at all in regards to getting their bats turned around, you know. But again, happy for Jake, wish it wasn't against us, wish he wasn't, you know, doing that against us like he did tonight. But at the same time, I think at the end of the day, when these players become family like they did in 2023 to all of us as fans, right? You still want to see them go out and have a good career.
Starting point is 00:44:39 even if it's not with us. What else we got? We got Cool bro. Whose date was ruined to not by the Diamondbacks? First off, I'm trying to keep it on the Jake topic. So we're not jumping all around. He sent in one right now as we speak and said, Jake also has the help of elevation.
Starting point is 00:44:55 That's fair. That's fair. Yeah. And there's no doubt about that. I just think that, you know, like I don't have any fate that Alec Thomas is going to have a 280 average with a 780 OPS. Like that doesn't seem like. like it's possible.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Watch him put up better numbers than Kyle Tucker. Oh, God. All right. That's what I think of that. Damon slamming his headset. Yeah, I'm throwing stuff, hitting the wall. Now cool, bro. D-back's embarrassed me in front of my date tonight.
Starting point is 00:45:24 You didn't put this roster together. Okay? So there's no embarrassment on your part. You don't have to claim any responsibility for the wins or losses for this team. But I get it. I get it. Did you at least stay for the fireworks? Yes.
Starting point is 00:45:37 He said the fireworks were or. Ordo. Yeah, there you go. And then Coolboro comes back, 199. Juan Murillo, I have some concerns. I think we all do. But again, I'm not sure. It just looked a lot like what Juan Maria looked like last season.
Starting point is 00:45:49 Yep, it did. And he's been so good in such an asset to this team that that would really, really, really suck. It's crazy. Yeah, it's crazy. Like, it feels like that is like almost like make or break almost. I mean, I don't want to be dramatic. You obviously have some guys coming back. But like, if Juan Murillo is not the guy that we've seen so far,
Starting point is 00:46:08 at the beginning portion of this season, how different is this bullpen? Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. He's been the workhorse. Look, and I mean, that's the thing is, is like, if guys fall off, it sucks that that happens, but we should be thankful that they gave us
Starting point is 00:46:23 what they gave us over this stretch, right? Yeah. Because here we are, there's light at the end of the tunnel as far as guys returning. Same thing with, you know, like Lourdes is different because I still think of Lourdes
Starting point is 00:46:34 as being a major part of this outfield in this team for the remainder of the season, But at the very least, you know, Lardis came back and was able to kind of replace Jordan Loller right when Jordan Loller got injured. And now with Lourdes possibly being out, if he does miss extended time, then you have Loller on the horizon coming back. Same thing with the bullpen, you know, with A.J. Puck here returning soon. Hopefully they don't start to fall apart, you know, before then.
Starting point is 00:47:03 But you feel like he's going to give them a big boost when he returns. Tori also told us today that he does expect Pavin Smith to be back before Carlos Santana now due to the setback with Santana's adductors drain and Damon is moving closer to being right about that whole Carlos Santana like we might look over and where are we finding the spot for Carlos Santana might just be like playing third base coach at some point that might be where I told you hitting coach like I'm not out on
Starting point is 00:47:35 Carlos Santana hitting coach Yeah, I know. Well, we do have more from Michael Soroka before we move on to the numbers from tonight's game. Here's Soroka talking about the direction of this team. Yeah, again, like we've seen some ups and downs and pitching staff as well as, you know, the hitting. I think this team is extremely talented. I have a lot of fun watching these guys on a daily basis. I'm excited for it. They're going to go in the next, what is it, next 120 or 115? team. Well, the numbers from tonight's game, as I warned you before, aren't great, but they are numbers. They do exist. Diamondbacks lose this one by a score of three to two. Both teams had two extra base hits. None of those extra base hits were home runs. Runners in scoring position, the diamondbacks were two for seven. Meanwhile, the Rockies were two for 12. So neither team did a good job of, you know, capitalizing on the runners in scoring position. Rockies just found a way to get those.
Starting point is 00:48:33 runs late. And also, you could argue that both things were happening to both teams. Like both teams, the balls were being hit. They were being hit right in the gloves. Dimebacks had a 40.6% hard hit rate. The Rockies, 21.2%. The Dynbacks also had a 304 expected batting average. Oh, my God. They did not have a 304 batting average in the game. Let me tell you. Meanwhile, the Rockies had a 207 expected batting average, and that seems very much on par for their night. This last one pisses me off, Damon. It pisses me off because I kept it red somehow and didn't notice. No, you should keep it red.
Starting point is 00:49:15 It should be red because it should be danger, danger. You didn't use any of your ABS challenges. And there were multiple occasions in big moments where they should have. And they would have been right. multiple occasions. We were tracking them. It's, it's egregious. Tori just talked last night about how they have a high, you know, conversion percentage, but the low usage rate. And that's because he values using it when we're sure. This is too close. This is too close of a game. You can't, you cannot have a game where you lost three to two and leave both of your challenges on the floor. You just can't.
Starting point is 00:49:56 There were multiple instances where there were bad, you know, there were, there were pitches called one way or another against Diamondbacks, and had they used their challenges, they would have gotten strikeouts, they would have gotten extra bats or extra pitches thrown by the opposing pitcher, and they just didn't do it. I don't even care if you're wrong on both of them.
Starting point is 00:50:16 I would much rather see an O for two night than an O for O for O night on a loss. At least O for two shows me you tried. O for two tells me you cared. O for two means you might have even been a little desperate, but, oh, well, whatever. Anyway, um, that's it. That's it for the numbers tonight.
Starting point is 00:50:36 We don't have, we don't have much good to talk about when it comes to those numbers. Killer Rex said he'd be back in an hour and yet he's nowhere to be found. Oh, thank God. Thank God. Because I was, I have like five more Tori clips just ready to go. I don't want to play them. Yeah, I'd rather get out of here faster. I will if he comes back. That's just a warning. Sure. Let's get one more super chat in. Then we're going to take another quick break. Cool bro 2.97. Thank you again for your super chat. He says also by the way, eating at the ballpark to impress a date is expensive. LOL's $20 for a CFA wrap and $10 for a chicken sandwich by itself. Also lights were red tonight. Lights are always red tonight out there.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Let me tell you, cool, bro. Nothing is going to impress a date less than complaining about the price of the food that you're paying for. Well, I think that's kind of his point is that he has to just take it on the chin. You got to take it on the chin. And in reality, he's sitting there and he's like, yeah, he's like sweating being like $32. Yeah. Yeah, I get it. Could have gone to a nice restaurant across the street and probably paid that much for that food, right? Instead, you're sitting here paying for paying for drinks, paying for all of that, right? It's because you love the game. That's why. That's why we do it. We love the game. And hopefully the date also loves the game because if she's, you know, going to be locked in as a girlfriend, a potential future,
Starting point is 00:51:58 misses cool bro we want her to love baseball so we got to start somewhere let's take a quick break and on the other side of this break we're going to talk about a fan doing something that it was like one in a billion out there at chase field this week uh kind of crazy and you know hey at least it'll get our minds off of this loss don't you guys go anywhere you're watching the phnx diamond back show well bet three six five wants to make baseball at chase field more exciting and of course we know it's in full swing out there. And when I say forgetful nature, it's really odd because I had one pair of sunglasses, David, for like 12 years. And that was like a record. And since that date, I've lost all of my sunglasses all the time, all of them, every single pair. But thanks to Shady Rays, I never truly lose my sunglasses because they have the craziest lost and broken replacement plan in all of eyewear,
Starting point is 00:54:13 or even if you break or lose your Shady Rays on day one, they'll get you out a brand new pair. No questions asked. Plus, they have some amazing frames that'll make your face look beautiful and some crystal clear optics on their polarized lenses that will protect your eyes from this dead. deadly sun here in the valley of the sun. So, of course, make sure to check out Shadyrays because it's eyewear that always has your back. Go to Shadyrays.com and use code PHNXSR for 50% off two or more pairs of polarized sunglasses. And as a reminder, if you guys want to come out and see some amazing baseball take place in person, we are going to be having not one but two takeovers of Chase Field.
Starting point is 00:54:55 And one is coming up here quite soon. You can join Damon and myself as well as your fellow Pee. H&X diehards for two D-Bex games this season presented by our friends at Circle K. On Thursday, June 4th, we are taking on the Dodgers and we will be out there at the Bar S, All You Can Eat section, stuff in our faces and watching the D-Backs take out Los Angeles. And then on Tuesday, August 25th, they'll be taking on the Chicago Cubs. Your ticket includes a piece of PHNX D-BACs merch of your choice, whether it's a hat or a t-shirt. It also includes your game ticket and entrance.
Starting point is 00:55:30 to the bar as All You Can Eat section and you die hards, you get 20% off as always. So go get your tickets now at go phtonx.com slash events. And one special thing that we could do from the All You Can Eat section is see from that section people catching home run balls in left field.
Starting point is 00:55:49 And we would have been delighted to see what occurred this week because we had like, basically like lightning striking a human being twice Damon. In fact, the odds of an individual being struck by lightning twice in their lifetime is approximately 1 in 9 million right the odds of achieving an ncAA march madness perfect bracket estimated to be
Starting point is 00:56:14 one in 120 billion with a b and damon knows from his time uh watching a lot of college hoops how difficult it is to do that um it's crazy but the odds of what happened with this gentleman, Alan Johnson, this week during the Giant series, might be just right up there with getting the perfect bracket. Basically, what happened was Alan Johnson is a DeVax fan who came with his wife, Mary Jane, to the Diamondbacks game on Monday with tickets to see the Diamondbacks versus the Giants. Only, they didn't have actual tickets for Monday's game.
Starting point is 00:56:54 They thought they did, and what they actually had was tickets for Tuesday's game. So instead of, you know, letting the situation kind of get them, get over on them, they just decided to buy tickets to Monday's game and attend. And while they were doing that, our guy Allen, who brought his glove with him and played Little League Baseball and channeled his little leaguer inside, got in the second inning of the game caught a Willie Adamus solo home run in the second inning. Very impressive, very cool. caught it clean, didn't believe it,
Starting point is 00:57:29 like didn't think it was in his glove and then opened his glove and the ball was in there. And he actually got the Giants to give the ball to Willie to sign and Willie signed it and gave it back to him and very cool experience for him. But the very next night, they returned for the game that they actually had tickets to, which was Tuesday night's game.
Starting point is 00:57:48 And in that game, Willie Adamas once again hit a solo home run in the second inning. And once again, believe it or not, Alan Johnson caught the home run ball from Willie Adomas. This one ricocheted off the Sanford like bullpen sign, but still ricocheted right to Allen and he caught it in his glove. And apparently the odds of doing that is one in the 120 billion's, you know, territory.
Starting point is 00:58:16 Catching the odds of catching two home run balls from the same player in consecutive games alone is one in 324 million. But catching it for. from the same player on consecutive nights in the exact same inning. Insane. So, again, just a little fun story to maybe make you forget about our bullpen blowing tonight's game.
Starting point is 00:58:39 But shout out to Alan Johnson for accomplishing this amazing feat. And again, maybe come out to see some baseball games. Go out tomorrow. Maybe you'll catch two home run balls. Hopefully they'll be Diamondbacks home runs for sure. But go out there tomorrow. Get yourself to Perpiente's jersey. I really like this thing.
Starting point is 00:58:56 It's styling. And hopefully, you know, the 98 on the back will confuse people and they'll think I was born in that year. But we thank you guys for being here on a Friday night with us. You helped me and Damon get our vibes up a little bit. Our vibes were very low. You guys, as always, bring them up. Starting point is 00:59:32 We are actually off on Monday. Believe it or not, they're letting Damon have a day off. I don't know why. I'm still showing up. I was going to say he's still going to be here editing video or something. I got legacy to protect gone to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:44 I mean, Cal Rifkin never took any days off. Damon does it either. But also Cool bro says he told the girl that he took on a date that he usually. brings food and she said we should do that next time she's a keeper she's a keeper but also next time i mean i i think that i think this this is good news i just want to say big ups a lot you're right a lot of things there a lot of things there she's okay with you bringing food to the park maybe she just sees you as being a good planner and not well that's it i mean that's an attractive quality
Starting point is 01:00:14 that i think so he's organized he's got it all figured out and in fact he's experienced too so there's that. I don't know. I don't know. I like the way you said that. It's late on Friday, David. And everything I say now is going to be dirty. It's time for that. But hey, we appreciate you guys. We love you. We will be off. Like I said on Monday.
