Hey, Derek, show started.
I'm taking the batteries out of the cactus light because I don't think we're going to need it anymore.
What do you mean the show started?
I told you I would give you the sign.
I started the show.
Why did you start the show?
I told you I would give you the sign, David.
I thought you sent me.
What don't you understand?
What is so confusing about this?
What is confusing about this?
The way that opening music went was very appropriate for the way we thought this game was going to go.
But if you thought the Diamondbacks, we're going to win a one-to-nothing game, you fool.
Welcome in to another edition of the PHNX Diamondbacks.
Backs podcast right here on PHNX.
My name is Derek Montia, occasionally known as a very bad third base coach.
This man over here is the one and only Damon Dog on the ones and twos.
He's confused by my signs.
I still don't under what is what is, how is this confusing?
How is that confusing?
But anyway, welcome it to you guys.
Glad to have you here.
This was another terrible loss for the Arizona Diamondbacks losing tonight's game to
the Houston Astros by a score of three to one.
And you know what?
Damon, I'm going to do it.
I'm going to do it.
What is it?
July 22nd, time of death.
9.24 p.m. on July 22nd, 2025.
Goodbye to the Arizona Diamondback season.
This loss tonight was the nail in the coffin.
The Diamondback somehow found a way to squander a terrific performance from Eduardo Rodriguez,
who went scoreless for six in the third innings and lost this game to Browin.
to Bryce Matthews, basically, who single-handedly has destroyed this franchise and owns us 100%.
This show is brought to you by our friends at Bet365 and the fine folks.
Over at GameTime, of course, use our code of PHNX 365 when you sign up.
Follow some steps.
You'll get yourself $150 in bonus bets.

You'll get $20 off your first purchase.
Wow, this game was terrible.
This was, well, not, I mean, terrible in all.
aspects except starting pitching and we'll get around to
Eduardo Rodriguez's performance but the Diamondbacks record stands at 50 and 52
Dback starting pitchers now in their last six games are four and one with a
2.480 RA so it's not the starting pitchers that's the problem but over the last two
games it has pretty much been their bats going fairly cold and again the Diamondbacks
did have a one-to-nothing lead but Damon we both know there was no way that they were
going to win a baseball game one-to-nothing not
in 2025. Yeah, I want to show of hands who here was confident up one zero, the diamondbacks
we're going to take this one home. Crickets, Derek. Because I don't think a single person was
feeling good about our chances tonight. Well, and again, this was a night where I think a lot of us
had already chalked this one up to a loss based on it being Eduardo Rodriguez versus Framber Valdez.
And while both pitchers were very, very good tonight, you got to admit that, you know,
Eduardo Rodriguez, even though the results don't look great, the numbers, the stats at the
of the day aren't great. The most important stat is the zero that he put up on the board for
this team giving them a chance to absolutely win this game against Baldez and the Astros.
But the Diamondbacks offense did not help out much. In fact, they didn't get much going for
the second night in a row. And that's kind of outrageous considering what they just did in their
three games sweep against the St. Louis Cardinals. So I don't know where to start with this one.
But I mean, we could really just dive into the crucial plays. I think Damon, where things started
to go wrong for this team.
Eduardo Rodriguez got hit by a comebacker, and even though he wasn't hurt,
Tori Lobello pulled him out of the game at six and a third innings pitched.
Brings in Kevin Ginkle.
And let's just start with there.
Kevin Ginkle coming into the game in the seventh inning.
I understand Tori pulling out all the stops here in this one, Damon.
But what was the game plan here beyond Kevin Ginkle?
What were we going to do for the rest of the?
the game. Were we going to let Jake Woodford close it out in two innings? What was the game
plan here? Because I was under the impression that Kevin Ginkle was the Diamondback's
closer, at least for the conceivable future until they get some Shelby Miller back.
So I just, you know what I mean? Like right there was when for me, I did not understand what
was going on and this game started to go off the rails. And it wasn't the worst idea because he did
bring in what he perceived to be his best reliever to face.
the heart of the order or the Astros.
However, they were going to come up again.
It was the seventh inning, right?
Like, I mean, yeah, maybe if you have one, two, three innings for the rest of the game,
but that's not what this bullpen does?
So what were you going to do when the heart of the order came up again at a very crucial time in the ninth inning?
What was the plan then?
I'm asking you, like, as if you're the one that made the decisions, but I really do want an answer.
I just don't.
That was really worth being spell part.
Everyone knows here, and I'm sure, you know, there are some people that want to hear it.
Like, you know, we've been Tori guys.
This one, this one was a tough one, Derek.
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
This was a tough one for the Tory, like the Tory truthers out here.
We didn't show out our best hand tonight.
And yeah, it was a poorly managed game.
The third base coach, obviously that situation needs to be talked about.
And I'm sure we'll get into it.
But that's Tori's higher as well.
Like, just an all around really bad game, I thought from a managerial standpoint.
Tori did win a challenge.
And I think he maybe should have won another one.
Right.
There was that.
That's pretty up in the air as well.
But ultimately, the Diamondbacks just shouldn't have been in a situation where they only gave up one run tonight or where they only got one run tonight.
And they were.
And that's what lost them in the game.
Their offense didn't show up.
Their bullpen blew it, you know, in typical fashion.
And you squander, you know, one of the few great starts that you can actually get out of this starting rotation.
Well, in fact, Eduardo Rodriguez, this was.
in his opinion, too, one of his best outings of the year, the best that his fastball has felt.
And we're going to get to more from Erod.
Erod, again, was not the problem here, nor...
We do have that clip, though, Derek, if you want to hear from Erod talking about...
Let's go ahead and dive into it.
The best that he's felt all season.
Yeah, this is what Eduardo Rodriguez had to say about his fastball and his pitches in general,
feeling the best they felt.
I mean, I feel really good.
I feel like that was the best I feel with my basketball.
I went all this year, and when you guys see, it was, I think it was like 94, 95.
So that was a best I feel this year through to the whole game.
I mean, he lived and died with the four-seem fastball.
And again, we're going to get into E-Rod stats.
But those big plays, realistically, we really need to focus on the plays that lost the Diamondbacks this game.
I mean, again, they didn't have much going on in this game in general.
They didn't score a run until the fifth inning.
And in fact, it was the first run that was scored and the only run that was scored there until late.
And it started with Randall Gritchick, who had a fine day out there.
Gritchick as the Diamondback's secret X-Factor right-handed weapon worked out for the team,
but unfortunately he just didn't get much support from the other lefties.
And this is the problem with the Astros when it comes to matching up with the Diamondbacks.
They are very left-handed.
I believe they have four left-handed relievers and three left-handed starters.
So this is just the kind of team that is the Diamondbacks Kryptonite,
considering how left-handed the Diamondbacks are.
But again, Gritchick had himself a great night, doubled in the second, doubled and scored in the fifth inning.
the only run for the Diamondbacks.
And then he had a single to lead off the seventh.
Can we get this man some more playing time?
We standle Randall on this show, as we've said before.
And we also standle Vincent Gritchick,
because he might be the better Gritchick of the two.
But again, the Diamondbacks only had three extra base hits tonight.
Two of those were from Randall.
And again, the offense just kind of fell flat outside of that.
But we do have, you know, the kind of big, I guess, misplayed inning there,
where, you know, again, the Diamondbacks had themselves an opportunity to score, did not advance runners.
And not only did they not advance runners when it was Josh Naylor and they finally got something cooking there in the ninth inning.
And you had Josh Naylor singling to lead off the inning.
You have James McCann finally get into the game.
A lot of people wanted to see him pinch it for Jose Herrera, but Tori did not do that for some inexplicable reason.
And you know what?
We have more from Tori right here.
Tori discussed not pinch hitting for Jose Herrera.
This is what Tori had to say.
Pinch hitting for Jose.
No, I like Jose that bad.
He's got a solid, you know, good quality at bat.
And, no, I felt like that was a part of my game plan at that point in time of the game.
I wanted to extend the lead.
I was looking to really drive it up to a certain level.
I felt like, you know, I was looking for a big inning, big crooked number there.
And they didn't get it.
They didn't get it then.
They didn't get it at any point.
But they did manage to load the bases because they did not send runners there.
When Geraldo Perdomo, our wrist king, got a single in ninth inning with Josh Naylor on second.
Jake McCarthy came in to pinch hit or pinch run for James McCann.
And it was one of the most egregious probably coaching mistakes, I guess you want to say,
indecisive situations that we've seen out of Sean Lerner.
all year. And I'll preface this very much like I've prefaced criticism of Tori Lovolo with.
I like Sean Larkin a lot. Sean Larkin was somebody that Jesse and I have had a relationship with for a while prior to him getting hired over there as the third base coach.
And again, it's somebody that I personally am very much rooting for. But unfortunately, what we saw tonight was inexcusable.
literally holding up a hand while sending Josh Naylor
and you have Jake McCarthy having to fly back to second.
You have Josh Naylor having to scramble.
You basically would have needed a perfect throw
in order to get McCarthy there at third base
had they just let the runners run.
I do think that some of this indecision
is from the fact that they've had so many runners thrown out at home plate.
I believe Gino Suarez still leads the league in out,
in being thrown out at at home plate with four.
So this is absolutely a terrible coaching decision.
And I think that especially ironically playing the Houston Astros,
it's now more than ever that we kind of look over there at what the Astros have going on
and we miss that guy named Tony Parrish Chica.
And man, let me tell you, when I saw him working with Christian Walker before the game,
it broke my heart.
It broke my heart. I went over. I said hello to both of them. I told Parrishika how much you guys still bring him up in the chat and how much Diamondback spans still love and appreciate him. And he said he had a lot of good years here and he has fond memories of this of being here. But it's just sad that he's not any longer. And again, Christian Walker, we've discussed in the past. He has not had his finest season, but he has really turned around things lately, said he was feeling great. I think his health was a big reason for that. But he has done it.
He has done the thing so far in this series.
In fact, you know what?
Just for fun, let's do a little spying on our exes about a guy that we were just seeing right in front of our face.
Let's spy on one Christian Walker.
He was incredible so far in this series, two for five tonight, four for nine against the Diamondbacks.
And probably had what seemed, he seemed like he was going to have just the home run in this game that just tore it open.
he was going to like and he wanted it he wanted it too but uh definitely as has as had uh had his little
revenge series so far against the diamondbacks another interesting comment made by christian walker
yesterday to the media was that the diamondbacks never made walker a formal offer and while i will
say that you know based on the the way his season was going early it looked like they actually did
make a good move by not bringing christian walker back i think it does something
suck for a lot of people to
you know, to be fans of Walker and to hear
that the Diamondbacks didn't
apparently make a formal attempt at
bringing him back, but who knows? Maybe that's
because they knew that there was
a good chance of resigning him. But
defensively, Corbyn Carroll is a center
fielder, y'all. He made
himself some solid plays tonight,
including two catches in the
second inning alone that helped keep this game
scoreless. He was later moved
to right field when Alec Thomas came into the
game defensively. But
But yeah, no, this is this this was a game where the diamondbacks needed to play a perfect game in order to win it with their offense stalling out the way they did.
And again, it's, I think tonight is less egregious than all the soft pop-ups that they had last night.
This is for Ember Valdez, who was a very, very good pitcher.
And again, the Diamondbacks had a good chance to beat him tonight.
But unfortunately, their bullpen squandered away a lead late.
And the Diamondbacks, again, in this situation, with not scoring when you had the bases loaded, really is the reason why we're sitting here and looking at the Diamondbacks losing this game.
So unfortunate night and a lot of mistakes made late in a game that you couldn't really make any mistakes.
Blaze Alexander, he had a sack ground out, scored Gritchick.
But again, he had some throws over there from third base that, you know, again, you'd like to see him get his,
his defense a little better, but overall it does feel like Blaze Alexander is coming to his own.
Also, playing third base, it might be a sign of things to come with obviously Aheueno Suarez being
one of the biggest trade deadline pieces that any team currently has and is looking to
potentially move.
So we're going to talk more, though, about the trade deadline and why that also makes me sad.
But first we've got to talk about this game, making me sad.
Heraldo Perdomo, he was three for four tonight.
He helped as much as he could.
And again, Perdomo is never the problem.
He always seems to have some of his best at bats in those biggest moments.
Gurriel was one for three with a walk, but really,
offensively, the shining star of tonight's game was Randall Gritchick.
But again, we have more in regards to this situation.
I did want to get, we have Tori here kind of talking about that Sean Larkin situation
and the confusing signs.
this is what Tori had to say about that situation.
Probably played out pretty similar.
So, you know, look, coaching third base is a very hard, challenging task.
The ball gets thrown around the diamond extremely fast.
So I know Lars doing all that he can.
My question there was if the Diamondbacks only had a one-run deficit instead of a two-run deficit,
would they have perhaps sent Josh Naylor there in that moment?
and Tori said that they would have played it out the similar way.
And then again, I don't know.
You did have in the prior inning and our guy, Dalton Feeley, of course, who abandoned us.
And once he left us, the Diamondbacks couldn't win a game once again.
He tweeted out about the play at home where I believe is Altuve scoring on the,
with Kyle Backus throwing a wild pitch and Backus getting over there to cover.
And it would look like on a freeze frame that he did get tagged before.
touching the plate, but they went to review and they decided that the, that the
runner was indeed safe and held up the ruling on the field.
But this one was a tough loss and Tori discussed his thoughts on it in his opening statement.
Here's what he had to say when his press conference kicked off.
I was proud of the way we continue to battle all the way through that last out, a last out
of the game.
It was a hard hit ball and they turned a terrific double play.
They're a pitching and defensive type of team,
especially right now with a lot of their key players out.
And then they have a young player that we're making mistakes to
that continues to score up the baseball.
And he's made a couple really big swings that have made the difference in this game.
So that's the beauty of this game.
And he's doing his job and we've got to figure out a way to get him out
in some crucial situations.
And we haven't solved that part of the riddle yet.
But I just want to focus on the fight and determination
that this team has. They are going out there despite giving up some late leads and building an
inning. And I thought we had a lot going on right there. You're going to probably ask me about
the stop sign of third base. I don't, I haven't looked at it. I don't know what the play looks like.
I'm seeing it right in front of me in real time. And, you know, we got to go station to station
there. We're always, we're about a two-based running in two bases. That's what we really believe in,
and it shows up a lot.
But the bottom line is you can't make it out there on the bases.
And it's high risk, high reward.
And I didn't feel like it was, in my opinion,
a time to take a chance.
But I'll take a look at it.
Maybe if you asked me about it tomorrow,
I might have a different opinion.
But overall, E. Rod was fantastic.
Six and a third.
It was that fourth time through the order.
He'd done his job, 90 pitches.
And I just felt like we had some things lined up
and ginkle that portion of the lineup.
I felt was where we wanted them, and it held tight for seven innings,
but we just couldn't close a deal.
Pridoma with a terrific day, three hits, Gritchick with a terrific day with three hits,
just real good approaches, and we just couldn't close up that gap at the right time tonight.
His definition of beauty in mine are much different, Damon.
I don't agree with this being the beauty of the game.
And I get where he's coming from because the Diamondbacks got owned by a rookie.
in his sixth game.
I guess you could also say his fifth game.
They got owned by a rookie in his fifth and sixth game,
a rookie who was hitting 177 when he came into the series.
So I don't really agree with a lot of the things Tori said,
nor do I think that this game was well managed or well coached down the stretch.
And again, it's, as I said earlier, perhaps ironic,
perhaps irony isn't the right word,
but it's ironic that on a night where Sean Larkin ended up costing this team,
perhaps the winning run or the tying run,
or at least getting closer,
the Diamondbacks are playing the Astros,
and we have to look at Tony Parishika over there for the opposition.
Like Squidward watching SpongeBob and Patrick have fun outside his window?
Basically.
Yeah, basically.
That was me watching Christian Walker take grounders from Tony Parrishcheca
during batting practice before the game.
I was literally Squidward looking out the window.
But anyway, we got more to talk about.
We're going to talk about Eduardo Rodriguez's performance
because he is definitely not the reason.
the Diamondbacks lost tonight.
And he is not the reason the Diamondback season is.
Can I even say Brink?
I already called the time of death.
So I guess I'll say while the Diamondback season is over.
But is it over?
Or are they just cooked here at the trade deadline?
And maybe they can pull something off.
I'm going to try to be positive before we leave at the end of the night.
But I don't know how I'm going to muster that up.
You are watching the Ph.NX Diamondback shows.
Don't you go anywhere?
We'll be right back.
Damon, I have become a huge NASCAR fan.
And I know a lot of people out there might have have gone.
to some big events here in Phoenix.
We've had all sorts of events of Super Bowl, the Final Four Championship, all sorts of great
things.
But I don't think there's anything that is as fun to experience if you have never done so
as the NASCAR Championship weekend at Phoenix Raceway.
So make sure to check it out because if you have not heard, this event is going to be moving.
This is a staple of Phoenix here.
The championship race has been here in the Valley for years.
and now it is going to be leaving.
So this is your last chance, at least for a little while,
to check out the championship race right here.
And if you have never checked out NASCAR, let me tell you, it's incredible.
And right now, if you get down on some of the options available for tickets,
the access is incredible at NASCAR with a small ticket upgrade.
You're in the Desert Diamond Casino Infield Experience,
which we got to be a part of.
You get to go down and chat with the drivers, take pictures with them,
check out their cars.
It's an amazing experience that I don't think you.
you get in any other sport.
And after a grueling season that started in February, it all comes down to this, a weekend
of pure adrenaline where legends are made.
Don't miss your chance to witness NASCAR championship weekend in person coming to Phoenix
Raceway October 31st through November 2nd.
Tickets for Sundays Cup Series championship race sell out every single year.
So move fast to get yours before they're gone.
And here's the kicker.
Again, NASCAR is taking championship weekend on the road starting in 2026.
So this is your last chance to catch it in Phoenix for a while.
Tickets, hospitality, and upgrades are still available.

And I have been singing the praises of Shady Rays for about four years now, and that is because
I have been in love with my Shady Rays.
Not only are they very good-looking sunglasses that are as high quality as premium brands
that don't cost you nearly as much, but they have crystal clear optics with their polarized

They also have their color rushed lenses, which take that polarized experience to another level.
But most importantly, Shady Rays is perfect for forgetful guys.
like me because if I lose my Shady

Well,
Erod, again, was probably the guy that we owe an apology to after the comments we made
when we showed the probable pictures on Monday's episode because he got the job done tonight.
And again, even though his line does not look sexy,
Erod was the performance, the scoreless, the zero runs he put up.
That's very sexy.
Like I said earlier, he lived and died with the four-seem fastball tonight.
He threw it 50% of his outing.
And I love the fact, look at this.
This is beautiful.
Not only is a spray chart like so.
Like I love how much on the edge he lived and how many of those calls he got.
I also love that he really was, he wasn't reluctant to go back to those spots, especially, you know, here when you see on the inside here to right-handed batters, what he was able to do.
I mean, it was just a great night.
And again, it was all his forcing fastball.
50% of his pitches thrown tonight where he was forcing.
He threw the cutter 18%, change up 17%.
And then the sinker curb ball a couple of times,
slider he threw it once.
But that fastball was the reason why he was so successful tonight.
He just had great command over it.
And he was able to give the Diamondback six and a third.
Strong innings tonight.
He gave up six hits, zero earn runs.
He walked three and struck out three.
And Erod did also take that comebacker.
There's a strikeout meter.
We throw that up there.
I don't know if it, again, the water, the resources it takes to power that thing up,
it's probably reckless for us to turn it on for three, but I'm going to do it anyway.
Erod did take a ball off of his leg, but did not want to leave the game, as many of you saw in the broadcast.
He basically tried to shoe Tori away, and that did not happen.
But this is what Erod had to say about that comeback.
I don't know what was my last body.
I was like, that was waving then to.
to stay on the duck. I was like a little jane to hit me on the leg a bit but wasn't hitting me that
hard. So that's why they changed it out away and came to me. I tried to get away from him because
I know Marte was right behind me. And that's why I guess so I'm because I know it was a grumble
to the second basement to get the guy out. Your legs all good though. Yeah. Yeah. Did you have any kind
of words with Tori kind of when he came out there? Like did you about wanting to stay in?
No, I mean, you know, like I always, you guys, don't matter. I know what was wanting to stay inside.
I always want to stay in there, but I respect this each and every time he takes it, and that's what happens today.
Well, he, again, did a great job for this team, and maybe just maybe Tori should have left him a little longer with the way that things played out.
I still don't quite understand.
I mean, I know why Kevin Ginkle came into the game when he did.
I just still don't understand what the thought process was in regards to a game plan beyond that, right?
And again, you can't really be planning on, just for the inning and then trying to figure it out as the game goes on.
I don't know who was going to close this game.
I don't know what Kyle Backus's role was eventually going to be.
There's a lot of things that I'm not sure how this was going to play out.
But Erod again, great night for him.
Six and a third innings pitched, six hit, zero earn runs, three walks, three strikeouts.
But this one, it's frustrating.
It's frustrating to see this game get away from him.
In fact, Erod's been pretty good since returning from, you know, that brief injury stint that he had.
He also said that this time off during the All-Star break helped him feel good.
It's the reason why he was hitting, you know, I believe he was up to 95 miles per hour on his fastball today.
And that would have been the fastest that he's hit all season long, if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, he was hitting 95.9.
95.9.
He averaged 93.2.
And this year, he has averaged 91.9.
So he had a little extra giddy up on his fastball.
But Erod did discuss the frustration with losing a game like this,
especially after he pitched as well as he did against for Amber Ballades.
I mean, all would happen.
You know, nobody wants to go out there and give runs.
You know, stuff like that's all that's all that's all that's all
would happen.
Maybe in a lot of gains that I want, they give a lot of runs.
And then they come to open and settle it down and we're the winning the gains.
So stuff like always always happens, you know.
So, yeah, I mean, again, he, he went on to say that, you know, this happens, right?
Like, you have games where you go down and the bullpen picks you up and your team wins.
You have teams where, you know, again, you know, in a close game, a one-run game like this, that, you know, that it could go sideways on you once the bullpen comes in.
But the Diamondbacks bullpen has been actually been pretty damn good.
And I can't believe I just said that.
I can't believe those words came out of my mouth.
But entering play tonight, the Diamondbacks relievers in their.
last 14 games dating back to July 4th had the fifth best ERA in Major League Baseball with a 2.30
ERA.
I will say that again.
In their last 14 games dating back to July 4th, Independence Day, the Diamondbacks bullpen
was fifth in the majors with a 2.30 ERA.
Well, that's over after tonight.
And Kevin Ginkle, of course, came in and did his job.
There's no question about that.
It's not really worth bringing up Ginkle other than, of course, because on U of A night with Noah, Noah Fafita there, who I got to meet.
And Damon was very jealous of that.
I got to see him throughout the first pitch.
Of course, Kevin Ginkle wasn't going to let us down.
He couldn't.
It's impossible to let him down on you of A night.
But goddamn Bryce Matthews, Damon, goddamn Bryce Matthews.
The rookie did it again to the Diamondbacks.
Second night in a row after hitting two home runs last night, leading the Astros to be.
victory. Matthews hits.
The game winning two-run, home run
off of Jake Woodford in the 8 to give the Astros
a one-run lead.
This is just his sixth game, and he is now just
hitting 2-11. So there's that.
Woodford,
again, whatever, I don't know.
I mean, Jake Woodford is a guy that I don't expect
a lot out of, but putting him
into high-leverage situations is unfortunately
part of this situation.
The Diamondbacks are in with their bullpest.
and they did.
And he gave him an inning in two-thirds.
He allowed four hits.
He gave up two earned runs with that home run.
He walked one and struck out one.
And again, Kyle Backus, he came in.
He gave him a third of an inning.
Struck out one, but he had the one wild pitch,
which made the game three to one.
And I don't know why, but it felt like that extra run
was the part that the diving backs weren't going to be able to overcome.
They weren't able to essentially produce another run the rest of the game,
so it really didn't matter.
But again, I just,
I have to feel like this game perhaps plays out if the Astros are a little differently,
a little differently if the Astros don't, you know, get that, get that third run in this game.
But unfortunately they did.
There's so many different things, man.
Like this game just encapsulates the season.
It does.
It does.
Because you lose this game on the margins from a coaching standpoint, from base running to your bullpen to, you know, something as as as a review not going your way.
on that altouva tech.
And it's like he looked out, man.
He looked out.
And then you probably send Naylor.
I know that Tori said that that's not what he would do,
that the approach doesn't change.
But I find it hard to believe that you don't send the guy there.
And well, and again, this is Sean Larkin's indecisiveness, right?
Like you have a third base coach who was putting up a stop sign while sending him at the same time.
And again, that indecisiveness, yes, it's because as Tori said, and he's not wrong.
The game happens fast and it happens in real time to those coaches much, much quicker than it happens to us watching on a TV screen or from the stands or whatever.
However, I don't give a damn.
There has to be commitment to a decision being made one way or another.
And we did not see that out of Sean Larkin.
And again, you know, a lot of the Diamondbacks, you know, key kind of traits are missing.
and one of them is applying that pressure in moments like that, right?
Having the guys with the speed on the base path.
And I know Josh Naylor isn't the speediest guy,
but remember,
he does have a lot of stolen bases this year.
So he might be rather speedy, right?
But again, it's about the hesitation.
It's about having the courage and the balls, quite frankly,
to throw, to make them make the throw.
And I've witnessed it.
We have witnessed it this year where those situations have not gone the Diamondbacks way.
But I don't feel like Tori or Larkin.
And you send Gino.
I mean, they send Gino all the time.
He's sending Gino every opportunity.
Well, that's what I mean.
It's like the, it's like the mistakes made early on in the season are now causing that indecisiveness.
But unfortunately, the Diamondbacks are a team that created chaos based on not being
indecisive about this stuff, nor did they back away from trying to be aggressive in
kinds of plays. They applied the pressure to the defense, made them make a
perfect throw, a perfect play in order to get them out. And if not, you see what
has happened at times. You see the Diamondbacks make other teams make
mistakes, but they're not doing that now. They're not doing that now. They're
not playing that brand of baseball, which is what I consider to be Diamondbacks
baseball, right? Solid defense. Manufacturing runs, using speed, applying pressure,
creating chaos, none of that is happening, right? Luckily, the Diamondbacks have gotten some
solid defense, but even tonight, you know, they needed to be perfect and they weren't. And Bryce Matthews,
again, somehow found a way to own this team with his home run off of Woodford. But Bryce Matthews
owns the Diamondbacks more than any player has ever owned a franchise, I think, in the history of
baseball. I was working that out, you know, before the show. And it's just, how could you say anything
different. He's played like five games.
He's played two against, yeah, two
against the Diamondbacks. In both games,
he single-handedly won the game for the Astros.
And there's nothing really else you can say about it.
B-Com C. Booker,
we change it up, says, I'm lost with what we are.
And I can't, I can't think of a better
phrase than that. And that is the reason why I
declared this team dead. That's why
I called it for a time of death on
their season. And I'm going to try my best to spin it around and have a little positivity before we
get out of here because I do not actually believe their season is done. However, what I'm declaring
a time of death on is this period of time as to whether or not the Diamondbacks are going to be
buyers or sellers before the trade deadline on July 31st. I am 100% convinced that they should be
sellers and I think that if they are not, they are making a huge mistake on not being sellers.
At this point, I can't really see this team going out and I mean, what did we say that they
have to win now?
They still have to win 40 more baseball games.
They have to go 40 and 20.
I don't see that happening.
I don't see the Diamondbacks put up earlier that he thinks that we need to go six and seven, six out of our
next seven.
Well, yeah, that's just, that's leading up to the, to the trade deadline.
To keep your players.
That's to keep your players, right?
But, I mean, again, Gino Suarez, his value is so incredibly high right now that you might actually get a team to do something very stupid and give you in return based on the fact that there are going to be so many teams interested in Suarez's services, give you far more than they should, give you something that actually is going to make your team better for the rest of the season.
and this is no knock at Gino because offensively this team is not the juggernaut they are
without Suarez's bat. However, what I will say is that, you know, again, on a night like this,
you kind of wish you had some elite relief pitching rather than another bat because a bat can go
for four over five on any given night. A bat can get into a slump, but a relief pitcher can hold
a one-nothing lead like this. They could come in late and close out a game. And I think that if the
Diamondbacks can manage to use the fact that Suarez's value is so incredibly high right now to make a team do something stupid.
I don't really think like I found out the Mariners are really, really in on bringing Gino back.
And if that's the case, give us Andres Munoz right now and we can, we'll send him over tonight.
Derek, I, I want to shoot higher.
I want the switch pitcher who pitched in the futures game.
Oh, okay.
All right.
Yeah.
No, that's it.
Durangelo.
I'm down with that.
Welcome to Arizona, brother.
I'm down.
I'm down.
But again, I do think that what a lot of people are hypothesizing is that this team could very much be a buyer and a seller at the trade deadline.
Whatever, I don't care.
At this point, I have a hard time believing that even if they do fortify their roster and bring in some help for their bullpen and figure out a way to move at least two of these players that they could be a better team, but I have a hard time believing that they can go 40 and 20 the rest of the way.
And again, the metaphor I made to Damon earlier was probably a little callous.
I probably shouldn't even say it on the show.
But the problem with this time leading into the trade deadline is this has been like having,
and I'm sorry if this is dark, but it's like having a relative on hospice, right?
Because we have these good days and we have bad days.
And the good days make you believe in this team, the good days make you believe that this team is what they were when they swept the Cardinals.
And again, even with me leaving here for a week,
Before I left, I was already ready to be done with them.
But sometimes when you have a relative that's in that situation, any good day gives you hope.
And you have hope and you think things are going to turn around.
But unfortunately, you remember that they're in hospice for a reason.
And this season for this Diamondbacks team has very much felt like that.
This trade deadline has felt like that.
It's just felt like as much as we want to hope that they're going to turn around and go on a stretch here right before the
trade deadline that turns their season around, makes Mike Hazen believe in them, makes
some buyers instead of sellers, it just doesn't seem plausible or realistic to have that hope.
Because it does really feel like with the losses that this team has experienced due to injury
and everything they have going on right now, that even if they couldn't put on a run here,
it's still not an indication that this team is a contender or even going to make the playoffs
with how daunting that task is to get to the playoffs from this point going forward.
And Johnny Walker is asking, what is my point?
My point is that at least in regards to the metaphor I was making,
my point is that this has been an unfortunate thing where we have hope that things are going to turn around.
But I think deep down inside, we all knew that this was not going to turn around.
And it's not going to be for the best when trade deadline comes around.
I think it would potentially be a mistake and a mistake to the,
future of this franchise to not capitalize right now on some of these guys. And again,
I think that's a bit of the reason why we saw Blaze playing first or third base. I saw
James McCann taking grounders out at first before the game. And I really do think like at least as far
as if as I'm concerned, the position players Josh Naylor and Gino are the most likely
candidates to be traded by this team because the Diamondbacks have assets right now that they don't
have to get back that can play those positions.
I still don't know what they do if they go for starting pitching and trade Merrill Kelly
and trade Zach Galen.
But the belief here, at least in the press box tonight, was that all four of these guys
are most likely going to be traded.
And it's probably the reason why or probably for the best.
It's probably for the best.
But I don't think we gave out Kingsnake.
And of course, there's nobody, nobody on this team deserves it at all except Eduardo Rodriguez.
is. Well, maybe Gritchick because we standle Randall, but Erad was terrific tonight.
Six and a third innings pitched against six hits allowed.
Zero, earned runs, 3K.
So, yeah, that was our King Snake and he didn't get much help, though he did leave the game with a lead and the Diamondbacks very much needed, needed that out of him in order for them to even compete in this game.
But we're going to take a look at the numbers.
Derek, real quick, I did want to go back to your hospice, you know, analogy.
here for a second. I think in Johnny Walker in this analogy is your family member who's just
in complete and utter denial. Just complete denial. I get it. I've gone through it. I've been
that family member. I have. I've been the family member that said, this is not the like,
you know, I was just in there talking to him. We were laughing, having a good time. We had a cup of coffee
this morning together. You know what I mean? Yeah, he just swept the. He just swept the Cardinals. He got
out of bed and he swept the Cardinals. He's doing great. He's fine. Stop, stop acting like this.
I don't know what the he doesn't even need to be in hospice let's move a shot are we buyers that's what
johnny walker is asking five dollars well hey let me tell you i will say we are not buyers but
what i will say is is that again the diamondbacks don't need to be desperate either right
like they don't have to move these guys and they have at least for each player three four teams
that are rumored to be in.
New York Yankees seem to be in on everybody
that we have available
because they just are desperate
and they want to bring in whatever they can bring in.
But hearing the Seattle Mariners are in on a few of our guys,
that makes me interested.
That's intriguing because we can totally fleece Jerry DePoto.
You know we can.
And that's an exciting prospect for me.
But again, I do think that an important factor here
is that the Diamondbacks need to not get back prospects.
They need to get back major league pieces,
especially if the plan,
is to trade Anthony Descolfani, or excuse me, Sat Gallen and Merrill Kelly.
Anthony Descalfani was on my brain because he's going to start baseball games for us if you trade those guys.
So it's just something that I want you to think about before you do.
Also, the Diamondbacks only need what they have, they have like 10 starts that they need to fill, I believe, if they do trade Merrill Kelly and Zach Gallen.
So it's not the end of the world.
if you only have someone going out there that isn't the best option,
especially if you've already kind of waived the white flag on the season.
However,
there's a route here where the Diamondbacks can get back the pieces that they need
in order to still be competitive and maybe just maybe their offense can continue without Gino
and without Josh Naylor.
But what we're going to do is take a look, like I said, at the numbers on the other side of this break.
And we're also going to take a look at the drunken orgy of violence known as the N. Hell West
because, again, things are just so confusing for me when it comes to everything going on here.
And as much as I declared them a time of death, other teams aren't winning either.
So we'll talk about all that on the other side of this break.

Not only for giving us free $200 for opening up a checking account, but for getting our numbers
straight here with our buy the numbers from tonight's game, Diamondbacks lose this one by a score of
three to one.
Both teams had 10 hits.
the Houston Astros, crazy enough, 0 for 9 with runners in scoring position.
Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks were 2 for 12, and they still only scored one run.
The Astros had just the one extra base hit.
That was the home run by Bryce Matthews.
Diamondbacks had three extra base hits.
Two of those were doubles by Randall Gritchick.
The other one, I believe, was a Corbyn Carroll double.
And then we have the expected batting average, which is basically a push.
251 for the Astros, 247 for the Diamondbacks.
no no no no point to the to the expected stats but this game again a very close game a game where both teams were well matched
I mean again a great pitching duel here by Valdez and Eduardo Rodriguez and the exact kind of thing
that you want to see out of Erodd especially considering that if you compare Erod's numbers in his career as an Arizona
diamondback to Madison Bumgardner's numbers as an Arizona diamond I didn't want to
this up on this show. I didn't even want to show this disgusting graphic. But if you saw it,
you would be grossed out because advantage bumgartner in most categories when compared to Erod
through a similar portion of their career with the Arizona Diamondback. So not great, but I do feel
like we have seen lately the best version of Erod that we might have seen the entire time that he's
been in Arizona Diamondback. Also, to be said, Madison Bumgardner, I know he was bad, but early on,
like he kind of had some moments of not being bad.
So I'm sure that factors into the stats and the numbers.
Just overall, though, again, not the reason that they lost tonight.
It was not because of Erod.
It's also kind of frustrating because we know how good this Astros team is.
We know how good they are record-wise.
We know that they lead their division.
We discussed when we took a look at them at a glance on Monday that their bullpen is very, very good.
And so far it continues to be, which is kind of, again,
Again, besides just the left-handedness of their pitchers, left-handedness of their pitchers,
it's also the fact that their bullpen is one of the best in baseball.
And again, the Diamondbacks typically are a very good team about scoring runs late.
And that those two things combined here kind of came to a head and advantage Astros so far in this series.
Diamondbacks look to avoid the sweep in the finale.
But at this point, what does it even matter?
I don't know.
I'm just, I'm lost and I'm sad.
and I'm to the point where we just saw really mismanaged game tonight by Tori LaBolo,
bad coaching by Sean Larkin,
and a team that really needed to have more fight, honestly, in themselves offensively,
than they did in order to try to save their own season.
They're looking at each other.
They're looking at their teammates.
They have the ability, you know, to do something about this.
And I know it's easier said than done.
I get that.
I can sit here in this chair.
all day long and talk about how you should just hit the ball with the stick, right?
But that's not how it works necessarily.
I just do think that even though they played a tight game and they had a lead going in there
late, you know, they just they didn't really do enough in this one to try to take it.
And again, it really just shows kind of a lack of a fight in them, a lack of fire in them right now.
As far as I'm concerned, that's another indictment of Tori Lavolo.
I said it the other day, but when Tori was talking about their players, not coming in every day, knowing they're going to win, but coming in every day, hoping they're going to win and that not being the right mindset, I was a little beside myself because of all the things, of all the things a manager can control.
And again, I know you can't control the mindset of your players, but that, that is the thing I would think Tori would have the most influence and impact on is having the players come in with the right mindset and the right belief in themselves.
that they're going to win today, not hoping that they're going to win today, but knowing that
they're going to win today. Today, that team out there played like a team that was hoping to win,
not a team that knew they were going to win. And it's important. It's important because the division
obviously is far away from them. It's, it's, that has, that has left. Oh, man, top top G6309 says
there's no adrenaline in their soul. You're goddamn right. There's not. Cody Rhodes would be
disgusted with it. But again, the Diamondbacks have.
have their division kind of escaping them now, the wild card.
It's still hanging there.
I mean, again, a lot of teams in front of them lost tonight,
but the Diamondbacks really needed to win in order to make some movement,
and they did not.
But let's take a look again at the N Hell West,
the drunken orgy of violence that the Diamondbacks are involved in.
Dodgers continue to lead the division right now.
They are 59 and 42, but they are no longer being talked about as being the best team and baseball.
Those honors go to the Milwaukee Brewers and the Detroit Tigers.
But the Dodgers do lead the NL West Division.
Padre is currently four back in the division,
and they are the only team with a wildcard spot in the NL West.
They are 55 and 46.
Meanwhile, the Giants, they won tonight.
They are 53 and 49.
They have a six and a half game deficit in the division.
They are two and a half back for the wild card.
Now the debacks sit here at 1552.
Again, once again, not double digits yet.
They're at nine and a half back in the division,
but they are five and a half back in the wild card.
And once we went out, now that we're here, now that we're at five and a half, it's, it's just hard to imagine them climbing over the number of teams that they need to climb over.
And again, tonight was the opportunity.
The Reds lost.
The St. Louis Cardinals lost to the Rockies, right?
The Cardinals lost to the Rockies.
We've ruined the Cardinal.
Maybe they were ruined before they came into Arizona.
I don't know.
But the Diamondbacks really had a chance to just make up that ground, potentially.
you know, win this series against the Astros and leapfrog, not one but two teams and make it so that
they're really just behind the Giants and like pretty much the Giants, right? I think the Giants and that's it.
Is there another team?
Padres.
Well, Padres would still have a spot. I'm talking about like outside looking in. It would be the Giants and the D-backs, right?
You got the between them, you have the Reds, the Giants, the Reds and the Cardinals. Am I right about that?
Yeah, looking at the NL Wildcard standings right now, if the Diamond's,
The Giants had one tonight.
They still would be behind the Cardinals and Reds, but they'd be a game back behind those two teams.
Yeah.
And within striking distance as well of the Giants, just a mere two games ahead of them at that point.
So, yeah, they would be pretty close to, you know, being the league leaders right outside the wild card, which, you know, obviously would be a big push here before trade deadline.
Yeah.
Well.
I, you know, I did want to just say, though, that, like, you know, when we talk about Sean Larkin having a bad.
game ultimately that falls on Tori LeVolo that was his hire so it's not that's not that's not that's not
that's not we're not trying to escape blame from Tori LeVolo in that situation no that's part of
the issue tonight that's part of the coaching mistakes like and again Tori might handle it internally
differently than he said in the press conference but in the press conference he's going to have
he was back yeah you know and and he does he does do that right he does get his guys back publicly
but then whatever goes on privately internally we don't ever know about it just
It's just like, when is enough enough, though?
Because that's, that's my thing.
Because I know that this, this is a team that's going to ride and die with their people.
That's why Jose Herrera gets that opportunity to hit in that situation, even though all of us at home are sitting there going, please put ADC in for him right now.
It's they ride and die with their people.
Yeah.
That being said, at what point do you just say, hey, this is not the right third base coach to help this team win baseball games?
Are you going to make that change in the middle of the season?
Would you rather he just keeps losing you games?
Well, one thing, one thing that sticks with me is when Mike Hazen says like, it's, it's difficult.
It's difficult once the season starts going to get that higher versus doing it in the beginning of the season, even a few days before the start of the season, because people are willing to shift and make that change.
Whereas now, maybe someone's not willing to shift, even if it's a great opportunity for their career, they might want to wait until the end of the season themselves before they leave.
whatever team just so that they can give proper notice and not kind of be a jerk that's just
abandoning their situation for another situation.
I mean, yeah, I'm not connected within the coaching circles.
I just can't help but think that there's not a third base coach out there who can help
this team more than what Sean Larkin is doing right now.
And I think it's you can't keep just living and dying in the same way.
And by that, I mean dying in the same way.
Yeah.
And we're seeing them bring in more, I guess, I don't know how to explain it, but like, O'Dog was
their day.
and and miggy montero is there and we're seeing more like of this outside influence of
old former players coming in and kind of being surrogate coaches you know and working with these
guys but i i don't know if i've seen that in the past when tony paris chica was over there right so
again that might be part of it and it might just be a matter of um i don't know respect i i don't
know but i'm with you on this because i don't really like the situation and way that
the way things have gone for this team all season long.
And we saw when they played solid defense,
they weren't losing games,
but it's not something that's been consistent this season.
I can't help but,
but you know,
think of which situation I'm more mad about.
The third base coaching one or the Jose Herrera
non-pitch hitting situation.
That's got it.
It's got to be a push on both of those.
But it's the same problem.
Both are beyond me,
man.
It is the same problem.
It's loyalty.
It's loyalty beyond the performance.
And it's basically you're not,
you don't have a track.
record of getting the job done, but you're still going to get opportunities.
And sometimes in baseball, that is the way things go, but I just don't know if I've seen
anything that would suggest otherwise. Really, I don't. But what we're going to do is we're
going to talk about something even more sad on the other end of this break because did we just
see, tomorrow, is tomorrow the last time we see Gino and Josh Naylor in a Diamondbacks
uniform at home at Chase Field play a baseball game. Might be. So we're going to talk about that
on the other side of this break.
Don't you go anywhere.
You're watching the PHNX Diamondback show.
Well, Circle K is the only place right now that I can go.
I think that will make me happy because I need something to drink.
And Circle K's options are not only extremely cheap.
But again, they're sugary enough to make me at least forget about my problems for a brief period of time.

Oh, and yes, there's a lot of talk about guys in the chat.
Ernesto says, whispers, whispers quietly says,
I'm not going to miss Naylor that much.
Well, I understand.
There's a weird sentiment that Josh Naylor has not enjoyed this time here.
I don't really think that's the case being around Josh Naylor
and his wide array of hockey jerseys.
I think I figured it out.
And it's really the fact that we took a Canadian and made him go play somewhere against his will,
because he wasn't involved.
He didn't have a say in this.
He was traded to Arizona.
And then you made him go to a city to play baseball where there's no hockey team.
And again, I think that it was on us.
It was wrong for us to expect Josh Naylor to play in a city with no hockey team and be happy about it and have his soul filled up.
He's Canadian.
He needs to be as close to hockey as possible.
But tomorrow could very well be the last time we see Josh Naylor play for the Arizona Diamondbacks at home in a debunker.
Jackson Jersey. It also could be the last time that we see Gino Svarez. And I know that this is sad times.
I know I've, I, this might, this might be darker than my, my hospice analogy earlier. But are we
really ready for this? Are we ready for this? The reason why I ask that is because I implore you as
fans that are going to be there. I implore you if you are not going to be there to change your mind
and come out and watch tomorrow's baseball game. It's a Wednesday game. It's a day game. It's
against the Houston Astros, you know Chase Field is going to be empty.
You know you're going to be able to get tickets on game time for like five bucks.
But more importantly, you need to come out and you need to give these guys at least,
at least if you feel the way Ernesto does, I can understand it.
But I would at least implore you to come out and cheer on Gino Svarez and give him some standing
ovations for what he's done as a member of this team.
I mean, again, Gino not only brought the good vibes only mantra over here and really
has been just one of the best guys to be around in the clubhouse, but he's been an incredible
player in his entire tenure as an Arizona Diamondback. And it could be coming to an end here
very shortly with tomorrow's game being his final home game. So again, there's been lots of
talk about, you know, again, the standing O we did for Ketel, standing O for players that are
struggling. But I really think that people need to come out and give Gino a standing ovation
tomorrow for sure. We got some super chats. And let's,
Let's take a look at those before we get out of here.
Damon, what are we got?
We got B. Com C. Booker.
What do we got from him?
Who are these relievers?
I'm exhausted.
No booty.
He's right.
They do lack booty.
There was a definite like a booty coming out of that bullpen for sure.
Then goes on to say God is punishing us for not being humble.
Maybe.
Maybe he's right.
I don't like that.
Yeah, I know, but we haven't been very humble at times.
But thank you very stupid.
But isn't sports about celebrating the big moments?
I don't want to be humble when I sweep the Dodgers the first round.
I want to tell them how much they stink.
Yeah, you're right.
You're right.
You're right.
I do too.
Caesar in the super chat, thank you for your super chat.
He says, in my opinion, it's over.
Even if we buy, we're not winning the chip.
Gino equals KD.
Sell now and demand a KD to Sons Hall for Gino.
Anything less would be unacceptable.
I'm with you on that one, Caesar or Cesar.
And our guy, Johnny Walker, we love you, Johnny.
He says, I agree, things are not great, but I will keep rooting 2019, 2021 Braves, 2023 D-Bags.
And that's where, I mean, and I think that, you know, we can find common ground on that.
Because as much as I was going after my guy, Johnny Walker, and, you know, we've been kind of having a back and forth, I'm also rooting for this team.
I'll never stop rooting for this team.
I'm not rooting against them.
I'm not waving the white flag or, you know, one of these, you know, freaks in here who wants to lose so that their Tory opinions can be right.
I want to win.
I just want to be smart about what the best for this future of this franchise is going to be.
And I think really at the end of the day, what it comes down to is that these trades are necessary in order for the Diamondbacks to be better.
I don't think that the trade deadline for the Diamondbacks are what you commonly see from a baseball team.
I don't think that Diamondbacks can go out there and just trade away for a bunch of prospects.
I do think that they're going to have to get some major pieces back, including major league ready players that can,
pitch for this team or play
a position. Right now I do think that
their depth is very shallow as far as position
players are concerned. But if you trade away Gino and
Josh Naylor tomorrow, the Diamondbacks have guys that are capable
of playing those positions in their system.
I don't have that same feeling about starting pitching.
So I feel like, again, if you do move all four of these guys,
starting pitching needs to come back from somewhere. Relief
pitching needs to come back from somewhere. There needs to be
pieces that make.
make this team competitive still not only this year but the first half and the majority of next year with the pieces that we're missing with corbin burns justin martinez a j puck all out we need those guys back but again we we need something in in regard and like in the meantime we also need replacements during this offseason or at some point for both merrill kelly and zack gallant should they move those guys so again there's there's a lot of there's a lot of pieces that need to be a part of these deals but i do think that the diamond
can come out on the right side of it.
And, I mean, again, quite frankly,
Zach Gallen wasn't very good in game one of this series.
And I think Zach Gallen is one of those guys that I don't give up hope on Zach Gallen.
I still think he's going to be a great pitcher in Major League Baseball.
But, you know, right now the Diamondbacks could potentially get better with a guy that's not considered to be of the pedigree of one, Zach Gallen.
So I just think they need to be savvy here.
And I think if there's a GM, I believe in, to do that, it's Mike Hazen.
So go out there, fleece Jerry to Poto, get us, get us Andre Munoz from the Seattle Mariners, and then let's roll, baby, let's do what the Tigers did last year.
The next thing you know, we're one of the best teams in baseball next year.
I don't know.
So that are crazy?
Probably.
But I still think that there's a lot that they can do.
That's why the time of death thing is just more on this whole discussion about whether they should be buyers or sellers.
Like at this point, the guys that are going to be gone at the end of the year need to be moved.
and you need to try to start rebuilding this thing as it stands and doing it.
Let's, again, Moneyball watched it twice on the flight.
Let's do some Moneyball stuff.
I don't know.
Let's figure it out.
And I'm sure the result will be the same where we get bounced in the first round.
But that's for later time.
That's negativity for the end of the season.
I'm ready for negativity pre-trade deadline.
And we are going to break down the trade deadline a bit more on Thursday.
We're going about all the options and all the pieces where everybody is going,
where all the rumors are going.
And I think we're going to have a little surprise guest on to join us for that.
But until then, join us tomorrow for another postgame show.
Final pre-final home post-game show before the trade deadline.
And then the Diamondbacks go on the road for nine games, I believe.
But until then, make sure you guys follow us on Twitter.
I'm at cap underscore K-man with the K.
Damon is at Damon Dog with a DAWG.
We are all Damon's dogs, bark, bark.
Emily Williams will never let me not update my.
Diamondbacks jersey article, so I need to get cracking on that. So I'll let you guys know when
that's done. But in the meantime, make sure you follow our show at PH&X underscore D-Backs.
And as always, all roads lead to at pH and X underscore sports on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
We thank you guys so much for your time this evening. We love you. We appreciate you. We'll see you
tomorrow. Hopefully you guys are back with us again for another postgame show. Until then,
try to get a good night's sleep. And remember, kids, baseball is fun, but it's more fun when you
admit that your season is over.
