Episode Date: July 3, 2025

Merrill Kelly didn’t get much run support in his quality start for the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, but the Diamondbacks didn’t give up despite being down the entire game. Ketel Marte with some 9th ...inning All-Star heroics tied the game up and sent this one to extra innings, but the D-backs ultimately fall short in 10. We have more on Ketel’s big night and his All-Star nod, Kelly’s outing, and the bullpen not giving this team a chance to win.An ALLCITY Network ProductionSUBSCRIBE to our YouTube: https://bit.ly/phnx_youtubeALL THINGS PHNX: http://linktr.ee/phnxsportsMERCH https://store.allcitynetwork.com/collections/phnx-lockerALLCITY Network, Inc. aka PHNX and PHNX Sports is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by the City of PhoenixPHNX Events: Get your tickets to PHNX events and takeovers here: https://gophnx.com/events/ALLCITY — including us here at PHNX — is teaming up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America for an exciting three-year partnership. Starting point is 00:00:00 On a night where the Diamondbacks offense couldn't really get going, Cattel Marte still pulled off some heroics in the ninth inning to tie this game up and send it in the extra innings. But ultimately, the Diamondbacks fall short to the Giants in game three of the series. We have more on this game and why we are very concerned about tomorrow's finale. We're doing this in 30 seconds. Don't you go anywhere. Welcome in to another edition of the PHNX Diamondback show right here on PHNX.
Starting point is 00:00:40 My name is Derek Montia, occasionally known as your mayor of PHNX, and we have Damon Farrell, aka Damon Dog, on the ones and twos here just to make sure that I overreact as much as possible to this loss, as we all should, right? The Arizona Diamondbacks lose this game in extra innings to the Giants by a score of 6 to 5. Welcome in to all of you. Glad to have you guys here with us. Of course, this show is brought to you by our friends at Bet365 and Game Time. Make sure to go download that Bet365 app. Use our code of PHNX365 when you sign up. You follow some steps.
Starting point is 00:01:14 You'll get yourself some bonus bets. Then over at game time, use our code of PHNX. You'll get $20 off your first order. Great to see you guys here. Not a great outcome of this game. The Diamondback's offense was pretty terrible tonight, though they did find a way to tie the game up in the ninth inning and send this one into extra innings.
Starting point is 00:01:36 But they fall short, like I said, and aren't able to match what the Giants did in their half of an inning, losing this one by a score of 6 to 5. On the same day, he was announced as not only a starter for the NL All-Star team, but the top vote getter in phase two, Catelle Marte had a huge hit in the ninth inning, a home run, two-run, home run, that tied the game up at five and sent it in the extra innings.
Starting point is 00:02:04 And of course, Cotel Marte does this on a day where he is being, honored. He is being cherished at Chasefield and tries everything to do everything he can to get this team a win. But back down to 500, the Diamondbacks go. D-Backs record stands at 43 and 43. We've talked about this recently. The broadcast put up some stats in regards to it, but the Diamondbacks right now might continue to be the most mid-team ever. And that's why tomorrow's game concerns us because of course after taking the first two games of the series the diamondbacks would go on to split it with the giants also damon i think i've said of course three times already in this episode maybe four so i think you're going to have to ring a bell or hit the glock and spiel
Starting point is 00:02:50 from now on anytime i do that uh but this one was might be tough to keep up with yeah it's going to be uh tough to keep up with yeah i don't i use that phrase a lot especially when i'm trying to think of other words to say coach dark holmes great to have you in our chat back to 500 he says so many options at the trade deadline both buy and sell that's an excellent point and i do believe that the diamondbacks can do something still to improve this team while also potentially moving some of those players that do have expiring contracts at the end of the year to both improve this team and also try to i guess get something for players that you feel might not be a part of this organization once they
Starting point is 00:03:34 hit free agency but that's for a later time we need to talk about the diamond back's lack of scoring maryl kelly wasn't sharp initially in fact merrill kelly rarely is sharp if he is going to give up runs it's going to be in the first inning but after that he did lock it down and gave the diamond backs a quality start tonight unfortunately the offense really couldn't do much to pick him up uh the offense was just i mean listless tonight for the most part they were held scoreless until the fifth inning. That's when Alec Thomas led off the inning down three to nothing with a solo home run
Starting point is 00:04:09 that was his fifth of the year. That one went a 386 feet 101.1.8 miles per hour off the bat. That cut the deficit at the time to three to one there in the fifth inning. Jerry Geraldo Perdomo. Damon, what can we say about
Starting point is 00:04:25 Perdomo tonight? Every time you turned around Perdomo was finding a way to get on base. Every time you turn around Perdomo was involved. It felt like in a scoring play or on, you know, part of the Diamondbacks, minor offensive rallies that they had tonight. But he just, like, Pridomo was just in it. He just was, was active, very active like he always is. Yeah, five times on base tonight, Derek.
Starting point is 00:04:47 I mean, just special stuff out of Jerry. It's what he does. Well, right. I mean, and it's exactly what he does is get on base for Cattel Marte to hit a game-tying home run. But can I be honest with you for a half second? I would love it if you were. while you were about to sing Jerry's praises and I was, you know, I was jumping for joy internally,
Starting point is 00:05:09 something came across my, my internet screen and I just realized that the Dodgers just walked off the white socks while they were losing the entire baseball game. So pretty much the only thing they can take me off of the high of Geraldo Perdomo getting on base five times happened. I heard Kershaw struck out 3,000 people. Maybe not in this game. I think that would be some sort of record, but he did get his 3,000 strikeout. And Bob Brenley talked about it on the broadcast, and I had to tweet bad Bob. We don't do, we don't talk about Dodgers accomplishments. Congratulations to a Dodger.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Actually, no thank you. How does that sound? Actually, no thanks. Jay Cuddy agrees with you. He said Booth's fault for Glaze and Courtshaugh. That's for sure. I'm good. Glaze Jerry P.
Starting point is 00:05:53 He's the one that deserves it. This is a guy that, again, when you see the offense struggling, I feel like you see perdomo playing his best or or playing even harder right and that's what the diamondbacks kind of need a little bit tonight a little bit more of this season they got it a little bit tonight from jerry but um again uh the giants added two more in the top of the eighth lordis gurriel reached on a single then he advanced on a pretty egregious throwing error on the giant's behalf jake mccarthy would hit an rbi single uh that scored lordis and at the time at the time made it a five to three game that one run ended up being very important obviously based on what happened in the
Starting point is 00:06:32 bottom of the inning but it also felt like once again jake mccarthy is a guy who has returned to this lineup he made some fiery comments that made me run through a brick wall last night and he also just seems to be like he seems to have that competitive spirit that we have felt like has been missing from this team we see jake talking to his teammates we see him being very vocal we see him trying to do everything he can to extend plays, get extra bases, cause chaos on the base path. And I mean, it's a small sample size.
Starting point is 00:07:04 He's still not putting up the best numbers this year, but it just feels like this Jake McCarthy is different than the one that struggled earlier on in the season. I don't know what this Diamondbacks team needs to get things right. But I feel like something that is missing was that fire from Jake McCarthy
Starting point is 00:07:26 in the postgame interview last night. I feel like this team needs to just believe in themselves again and have a chip on their shoulder, have an attitude. Tori talked before the game about, you know, playing from this underdog role and this team kind of embraces it. I said it, but I feel like Tori also embraces it and probably manages better from a position of being an underdog rather than whenever the Diamondbacks have any kind of, I guess,
Starting point is 00:07:53 not standards, but what are we, what are we calling? What standards is a secret code word for? Expectations, that's right. But if the team has expectations, if the team is seen as a contender, feels like they don't live up to those expectations. Meanwhile, if they are seen as being out of it, if they are seen as being the underdog, it feels like they get that gritty, scrappy kind of attitude
Starting point is 00:08:17 and can maybe do something. However, I would like to see this team, once again put together some sort of run where the results don't make me feel like at the end of the day, they're a 500 baseball club. And so far, I haven't really seen much to make me feel other than that. And I think that's pretty fair. I'm not trying to drag them down. I'm not trying to beat them down considering the losses and injuries and everything that they've experienced this year. Being a 500 ball club isn't the worst thing in the world, Damon. But being a 500 ball club probably won't get you to the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:08:54 And even if you do, playing as a 500 club isn't going to get you very far if you do reach the postseason. Yeah. I mean, like Mike Hazen said, when Jesse came on the show the other day, right?
Starting point is 00:09:06 It's like they kind of need the wild card to come back to them a little bit, I feel like, you know what I mean? Like, and they need some of these teams like the Mets who are really struggling right now to continue to struggle
Starting point is 00:09:18 to keep this wild card race close because with the way the dimebacks are playing, You don't feel all that confident that they're going to start, you know, closing in on that gap necessarily. Because it feels like they're just kind of a mid baseball team right now. And they will continue to be as long as this bullpen continues to capitulate in every single late game situation, it feels like. And I mean, this one, you could definitely say what the hell was Tori Lavolo doing tonight, 100% managing this game. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:45 I mean, I know Killer X has been waiting on it. But like this is, this was egregious tonight. Yeah, don't acknowledge him. We're just going to, we're just going to do this. We don't need to give him any kind of flowers. We were talking about before we started the show, Derek, like, feel terrible about tomorrow. Robbie Ray on the mound. Brandon fought throwing batting practice.
Starting point is 00:10:07 I mean, like, I don't think we're going to win tomorrow's game. And so it felt like tonight was somewhat of a must win if you wanted to win the series. And Tori didn't really treat it like that at all. It's pretty puzzling, to be honest with you. I mean, because I think everybody else was sitting at home being like, our bullpen's pretty rested right now. Why are we not throwing our top arms? More importantly, why is Tori immediately turning to the newly acquired Jake Woodford
Starting point is 00:10:33 immediately for not just... But take them out. Not just relief, but two innings of release. Now, Jake Woodford is an interesting story. And we'll, I think we'll just address this now. The roster move today, Damon, was a bit weird, right? Juan Morillo hasn't been perfect. but he has actually had a really good June.
Starting point is 00:10:57 He was one of the Diamondbacks better relievers, one of the guys they could have counted on a little bit. He gets sent down. Kyle Nelson gets DFAed and the Diamondbacks bring on Jake Woodford. Now, Jake Woodford is a guy that has struggled as a starter, but when he was a reliever back in 2022, put up some pretty solid numbers. And I think that that was maybe the idea here,
Starting point is 00:11:19 is that Woodford was so good as a reliever that he got converted to a starter and it didn't really feel like anybody ever gave up on the idea of him being a starter from that point on until essentially he was cut and was signed to minor league deals. He kind of traveled around through Major League Baseball. I think he played for four minor league,
Starting point is 00:11:39 different minor league teams this year. But really what it comes down to is it feels like this was maybe viewed as similar to the AJ Puck situation where AJ Puck's numbers weren't great, but his numbers as a reliever were great. until the Marlins tried him as a starter and then made him kind of stick in there as a starter and didn't work out. However, AJ Puck as a reliever tends to be pretty good.
Starting point is 00:12:03 AJ Puck has nasty stuff. Yeah, no, I'm not comparing them as actual pitchers. I was just comparing them more as far as finding success as a reliever to the point where you're so good that people believe that you should be a starter. And then for some reason, just starting doesn't work for you as a pitcher. I'll be real with you though, Derek. I'm kind of done with the, the, the, nice stories. I kind of want good bullpen pictures at this point. A hundred percent. That's why people
Starting point is 00:12:28 are sick of seeing Mike Hazen essentially shop in the bargain bin for these arms. Now, to be fair, there are some guys, like I said, even though that he hasn't been performing well lately, Jalen Beaks was kind of a godsend early on. He was like, where did we get this guy and how lucky are we considering how bad Joe Manciply has been that we found this left hand or out of nowhere. Otherwise, the bullpen would be filled with right-handed pitchers, right? But Jake Woodford, he's a guy. I mean, Again, in 2024, he played for two different teams, the White Sox and the Pittsburgh Pirates, 10.80 ERA as a White Sox, 7.09 ERA as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Then, again, dating back to his time with the St. Louis Cardinals, as a reliever for the Cardinals,
Starting point is 00:13:10 he posted a 3.99 ERA in 2021, a 2.23 ERA in 22. He had, check this out, 24 strikeouts in, wait, how many, it was a 20, 24 strikeouts in 48 innings pitched. That's wild. And he was a very good, you know, reliever. And again, I'm not trying to give you the good story because I know you're sick of it, Damon. I'm really not. But I'm saying like I don't understand why.
Starting point is 00:13:37 That's heartwarming, man, really. It's great. I'm back here. I'm getting as emotional as you when Josh Naylor ran out to center field. I don't think I told the story. I think I was just reading off his stats. What I was saying, though, is that this was a ridiculous idea, I feel like to bring a guy that's unproven right now that you don't know how he's going to pitch in high leverage
Starting point is 00:13:56 situations he went out there he was not pitching well he was struggling you know and again i understand a manager needs to allow a guy some time especially a reliever to go into the game figure things out find the strike zone kind of get into a groove and and do his thing but it really didn't feel tonight like woodford did that like at any point did he look like he was solid did he look like he needed to stay out there. And Toy LeVol let him go out there for two innings. He gave up four hits, two earned runs. He walked one.
Starting point is 00:14:27 And those two earned runs, obviously, in a game where you lose six to five are very, very important. You also have Shelby Miller coming in in the 10th inning and allowing the one, the ghost runner to score, in this case, was Young Hulie, to score from second base. And unfortunately, that was at the bullpen, not doing a great job at holding runs and giving this team a job. to win, right? But Catelle Marte, he gave this team a chance to win. He actually came into this game, Marte.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Not really right, Damon. If you looked at his stats dating back to that infamous incident in Chicago with the fan making the horrible comments about his mother, Marte was four for 30 coming into tonight since that night. He did have two home runs in that span. But again, just not really getting on base very often. not really getting a lot of hits. But tonight, he came up with the biggest hit of the night.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Pardomo single, like Damon said, once again, he gets on Bath five times tonight. Marte hits his 18th home run of the year to tie the game up at five, 410 footer. That went 106 miles per hour off the bat. Unfortunately, the Diamondbacks then aren't able to convert that run in the 10th inning. Defense tonight wasn't great. Jake McCarthy did make up. He had a couple of good plays, but he missed what appeared to be a pure. Pretty makeable catch there in the first inning with two outs.
Starting point is 00:15:53 That resulted in the RBI triple by Young Hulie, who was an absolute problem tonight. He just came just a home run short of the cycle against the Diamondbacks. He also scored the winning run in the 10th inning. So there's that. But the Diamondbacks again, this one really what it came down to it is the offense really didn't seem like it was getting going. And to be fair, the Giants have a tremendous. this bullpen. In fact, they're bullpening R.A. The best in
Starting point is 00:16:24 Major League Baseball, but I feel like Tori really wave the white flag way too early with this one, especially with once, you know, Bacchus came out the game. Backus again, an inning pitch. He walked one, no hits, no runs allowed, two strikeouts.
Starting point is 00:16:42 He remains a certified G and a bona fide stud, but I don't foresee myself putting that label on Woodford anytime soon. He has a nine ERA this year. And those two innings pitched, again, it's, it's fine, I guess, to send him out there. I know he gave up those runs. No, it's not.
Starting point is 00:16:59 I mean, it's whatever. It's not fine. But it was like, I felt like it was like, yeah, the offense isn't going. Don't want to, don't want to, you know, use up my pen again, despite the fact that they got rested last night. You only had one pitcher get used. They've actually kind of had a nice reset. It was a great chance to go out there and actually, you don't. your bullpen and ensure that that try to win a baseball game try to win a baseball game but
Starting point is 00:17:25 unfortunately tory did not attempt to do that with woodford going out there and pitching two innings tonight and i don't have an explanation for it i'm sure killer x is thrilled i don't have an excuse i don't know if i've made an excuse but as alice says right here it was a terrible display of management and and i agree i don't feel like this was a game that was managed to win i don't believe you know they talk about not believing in this team that's why uh jake said the s word last night on the broadcast right but felt a little bit like tory didn't believe in this team tonight felt like he didn't believe in this team to come back well i'll pull the curtain back i didn't believe in this team to come back i left the ballpark in the eighth inning and came over here
Starting point is 00:18:06 because uh traffic and i wasn't going to like who wanted to hear post game stuff from a loss but then the diamondbacks come back in the fifth inning i felt like a big dummy uh or in the ninth I felt like a huge dummy. They weren't going to let me park my car back in the garage if I turned around and tried to drive back. So regardless, I wasn't getting anything from the clubhouse, no matter what the outcome of this game was. But it was unfortunate that the Diamondbacks fall short in 10.
Starting point is 00:18:29 It even seemed like they're intent-th inning that the Diamondbacks had something going and perhaps could have made put together some sort of nice comeback tonight. But they fall short, one run short. Notable performances, obviously Heraldo Perdomo probably deserves King's Snake for being on base five times tonight. He was three for three with two walks and a run scored. Jake McCarthy, also very active once again, two for five for Jake with an RBI. And it's just great to see Jake again look very different from the player that struggled offensively early on earlier on in the year. But tonight belongs to one man and rightfully so. Not only did
Starting point is 00:19:07 he get a huge not a huge accolade before the game, but then comes up with that big hit in the ninth and proving that he is the all-star that he is, and that is Catelle Marte tonight, two for four, with a home run, two RBI, and a walk. Oh, and a real nice jump shot there. Real nice jumper. I don't know. Not Jake level.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Not Jake. That looks like it could be blockable. Jakes are gleeful. Jakes are full of joy and whimsy and merriment. But unfortunately, for Katel and his wonderful night, nine backs do fall one run short. We are going to talk here about Merrill Kelly and the bullpen some more. I don't want to talk about the bullpen anymore, but we have to.
Starting point is 00:19:49 I need to talk about another situation as well, but we can get into it in the next segment there. Do you want to do that? Well, we'll start off with that. So let's do that on the other side of this break. We're going to do some ads and then we'll do some more baseball talk. You're watching the PHS next Diamondback show. Don't you go anywhere? Well, I'm ready to VME about something.
Starting point is 00:20:09 I want to make a bet and I'm tired of, you know, again, I'm tired of not putting our money where our mouth is here. Maybe, maybe we'll, I'll take Catell, maybe Damon will take Geraldo Pardoma. We'll see who gets Kingsnake the next game. And we're going to do that through Vime, which is a first of its kind person to person betting app where you can bet on anything with anyone at any time,
Starting point is 00:20:31 anyone as your opposition. It could be one V1. Could be just me and Damon deciding on who we want as the player of the game. It could be our entire group. It could be for fantasy matchups. It could be for video games, all sorts of situations.
Starting point is 00:20:44 where Vimee can help settle these arguments, sell these bets. These wagers can be for free or they can be for money. And you can even throw in a note that describes what a punishment might have to be for whoever the loser is. But the best part about VME, no more chasing cash. If you don't trust the Venmo guy, you don't need to anymore. All the money is collected up front with VME. No more I'll pay you later's and no more sore losers.

Starting point is 00:22:35 Text next step to 533442 or visit problemgambling.az.gov. all right um you talked about notable performances Derek yeah i need to talk about another notable performance but it's not it's not a positive one oh it's the it's the first baseman and it's the collective tonight because here's problem number one paven smith bats third 80% of our baseball games now and i don't mean to make this a thing but like he genuinely is just a black hole out of your DH spot. You're not getting, you're not getting the production you need out of the third spot.
Starting point is 00:23:12 No, not at all. It's, it's egregious to continue to do so all the time when he's so inconsistent. And then you combine that with, he's being pinch hit for Tim Tawa and he's our third hitter. I mean, that is,
Starting point is 00:23:29 that is unspeakable. Well, and not, not to mention, you know, Tim Tawa has been. That's number two. He's been fine for this.
Starting point is 00:23:38 but Tim Tawa has really struggled. His magic is done. Yeah. I mean, he's hitting 203 with a 632 OPS. Meanwhile, Gritchick currently hitting 244 with the 716 OPS. And Pavin Smith 262, 816 OPS. Paven Smith is one of those guys. And I mean, honestly, we have a couple of those guys where I feel like right when you really start to get frustrated with them, they get a huge hit. And Pavens might not be the timely hits that say like an Alec Thomas. can get or even what Jake McCarthy's been doing, right?
Starting point is 00:24:12 But Pavan has this knack to just hit a home run right when Pavan needs to hit a home run. And it's just enough to make his numbers stay where they are. Again, 262 with an 816 OPS. He was one for two tonight. Definitely did have a hit that made you and Elise sad. But, you know, again, it's consistent. I'm not rooting against the guy. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:24:35 It's about the fact that he doesn't. produce out of a very important spot in the starting lineup. He's a pinch hitter. He's a pinch hitter. He's a situational guy. He's a, he's a lefty that you throw in for a right-handed hitter late in the game because you like the match up.
Starting point is 00:24:51 He's not a starter, man. And he's certainly not a top four or five hitter in your lineup. I mean, and what's crazy is that the debacks have one of the best offenses in baseball, despite that black hole at the top of their lineup, Eric. Imagine if they had, you know,
Starting point is 00:25:07 I would take J.D. Martinez right now. Can you imagine? Well, and in general, I don't really know what's going on with some of the offensive performances in general, right? Like, I'm glad Kattel had that big hit. I'm glad he went two for four. It felt like tonight was a big step in the right direction, but it also felt like when you watch Kattel's at bats. And again, this is, this is a conspiracy theory I have. But I feel like Kattel just needs to relax and not try. try to hit home runs because he's trying to do something for people and make a big moment, right? Like it feels like when Ketel has that, you know, that standing ovation from the home crowd, that support,
Starting point is 00:25:53 that he wants to deliver so badly for the crowd, you know, for his team, for whatever. And like, you just see in his at-bats that he is swinging for Flagstaff. he is swinging to hit the ball out of the state of Arizona. And sometimes it works. And sometimes in the ninth inning, it works. But it also doesn't feel like, like it just feels like it's too much. And again, we were watching some of his batts earlier in this game. And it just, it was, it was some pretty wild swings.
Starting point is 00:26:28 And not wild, but just like, again, some of the strongest, most powerful attempted swings we've seen advocate tell. And like, again, we don't, we don't need that. We need, we don't need, uh, Gino trying to lead the league in home runs as much as we need Gino getting on base more. Gino was 0 for five tonight with four strikeouts. I mean, you want to talk about Pavin. Gino, I know Gino contributes far more than Pavin does, but Gino also has nights like this quite often.
Starting point is 00:26:57 And I mean, the home runs again from Gino are enough to sustain you. However, Gino right now has a 250 batting average with an 874 OPS. His batting average is worse than Pavins. and his OPS is just slightly higher, despite the fact that the man has, you know, is one of the league leaders or close to the league lead in RBI and one of the top home run hitters in baseball. So those two guys tonight, both of them are, I mean, not Pavin,
Starting point is 00:27:24 Paving didn't get many opportunities, but I mean, we're getting a lot of that. We're getting a lot of that. Now, Nailor tonight, one for four, he had the RBI with the sack fly. But just, I mean, again, not a really well-rounded performance from the offense tonight one night removed from scoring eight runs but they did manage to still put up five runs that's what's so impressive about this team is that even on a night where their offense struggled they still managed to put up five runs and they still managed to give this team offensively a chance to win meanwhile merrill kelly as a starter uh didn't get much run support at least while he was out there
Starting point is 00:27:58 on the mound and his outing started like entirely too many of his outings do uh not to say that he always gives up a home run this early. But his second pitch of the game was a home run hit by Mike Yostremski. I mean, that feels pretty on brand. It feels, oh, I'm going to get into this. We should start betting on your fees when Merrill Kelly is a hundred percent. I always suggest to your fee when Merrill Kelly is out there. And whenever I suggest that, that is the few times when he doesn't give it up. But with two ads, he walked when we're Flores and gives up an RBI triple to Lee, once again, who was just a problem. But when I say Merrill did what Merrill does,
Starting point is 00:28:37 Merrill allows runs in the first inning, and then he locks in. And he did that again today, only allowing one more earn run, giving the Diamondback six innings, and essentially a quality start, right? But check this out. This season, so far,
Starting point is 00:28:51 Merrill Kelly has allowed 41 total runs this year. Okay? Of those 41 runs, Merrill Kelly has allowed, 14 have come in the first inning of games. 14 runs have come in the first innings of games. 27 runs have come innings 2 through 7 for the rest of his outings. That's insane.
Starting point is 00:29:18 Couldn't locate the change up early, but did not give up on it. Damon, do we have the pitch chart image here? I think we can throw that up. You'll see here a lot of pitches. He threw, he did not. really settle on one particular pitches, but he did kind of end up just throwing his change up, his four seam and his
Starting point is 00:29:38 cutter for the majority of the outing. That made up essentially close to 80% of the pitches that he threw. He threw his change up 30% of the time, through the four seam, 27% of the time and then through the cutter 26%. But not being able to locate that change up early. He was throwing it
Starting point is 00:29:54 right down the middle. It really wasn't changing up. It wasn't doing, it didn't have movement to it. But he settled in. like I said nicely. The only run he allowed, Brett Wisely, a guy hitting, I think, 150 when this game started,
Starting point is 00:30:09 and then somehow was the Thorne in the Diamondback side, along with Young Huli. He doubled to lead off the fifth inning and scored on a Raphael Devers RBI single. Hey, Devers didn't strike out for once. But anyway, besides that, Merrill Kelly gave this team an absolute chance to win, just didn't get much run support in his time out there.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Like I said, Diamondbacks didn't score their first run until the fifth inning. They scored two runs there in the fifth, and then they didn't score again until the eighth inning. So Merrill Kelly probably felt a little hung out to dry despite the fact that he did have the excellent, did somehow turn this outing into a fairly excellent outing.
Starting point is 00:30:47 Six innings pitch, five hits allowed, three earned runs. He did walk three, and he did only strikeout three. Now, I know I've talked about how much seawater it takes to run the Circle K strikeout meter, and it was only three strikeouts. Damon what do you think can we get can we get that thing fired I think I think it's going to need a little bit more to fire it up this time I don't think it I don't think it deserves it I don't think it deserves it like the quality start that deserves it but the three strikeouts I don't know here's another I'm gonna put this down real fast the diamond backs have this notorious knack Damon of of missing the timing on stuff when it comes to their knights when it comes to their you know know, special events and when it comes to, I guess what you could call synergy between, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:41 baseball games and what's going on at your ballpark. Tonight was dairy farmer appreciation night. Ain't no way. Dairy farmer appreciation night. And this team had the audacity to make Merrill Kelly get on camera and say how much he appreciated all the dairy farmers there at Chase Field tonight. Do we not have a starting pitcher on our team that is nicknamed the Milkman? Do we not?
Starting point is 00:32:14 Yeah, that's a miss. I mean, this is as bad as the Rocket, Rocket Protein commercial. Am I right? I mean, what are we ever doing? Sean says it, dare you say alignment? That is the first problem with this team right now. This team is not aligned. They're not connected and they're not dangerous,
Starting point is 00:32:33 but they're definitely not aligned. How is Zach Allen not out there on dairy? I don't even care if he's pitching or not. I don't care if he's pitching or not. You're going to make Merrill Kelly get in front of a camera and say, thank you to all the dairy farmers out there and not have that actually be Zach Gowan saying thank you to all the dairy farmers out there. I am beside myself.
Starting point is 00:32:54 I am beside myself. But anyway, I just need to get that out there. Rockin protein daughter or Trajan Wolf's son. I'm glad I could laugh because we're about to talk about the bullpen and I needed to laugh. But again, I don't know what happened here. Tori Lobolo said before the game that the reason why they made the move to send Murillo down, obviously besides the fact that he has options left and maybe other guys don't, is that they wanted Morillo to work a little bit on his,
Starting point is 00:33:25 I think on his pitch selection and how his fastball can set up his slider, slider can set up a fastball. I get that. You know, go down to Reno and work on his stuff a little bit so that it's not, you know, like they don't give a crap if he goes down and blows a game at AAA, right? Yeah. They want you to go get your stuff right. And that's the way that you can get right is by going to an area where it's not high leverage. It's not impacting the major league team.
Starting point is 00:33:51 But we did a post game show, Derek, like, I want to say a week or two ago where Murillo got them out of a tough situation. And it was like, I remember I came on here and I was like, that's the type of guy you want to miss. with a dude who throws 100 who has electric stuff like in hope he figures it out and it's like I'd rather Maria was figuring it out than whatever the hell I watched out of Woodruff tonight or what is it whatever his name is
Starting point is 00:34:15 yeah I mean I'm like Woodford Woodford I don't want to see guys you know with generic MLB the show names throwing 90 miles per hour Derek I'm done with that yeah why why have a guy that can that can shove at 99 100 regularly
Starting point is 00:34:30 when you can have a guy up here that's throwing mid sliders. I don't know. I don't know understand sending down Moliou. I really don't, especially with the way that he's pitched. And then tonight's results aren't great. Like all of a sudden, you bring in Jake Woodford and in one game you've already made, I think the Diamondbacks fan base already not want to ever see his face in a game ever again.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Right. And again, this is you feel for a guy like that. But at the same time, man, it's just you didn't do your job. You had available to you, Kevin Ginkle, who didn't make it into this game. Who's back? Probably not John Curtis. He's probably shut down. You probably weren't going to use Beeks.
Starting point is 00:35:19 So, I mean, again, you're probably limited in this game to Kevin Ginkle, maybe Ryan Thompson. So I don't, I'm not, I'm not suggesting that the options would have been tremendously better than Woodford. However, when he struggled the way he did, when he looked the way he did, I don't know what about his performance there in the, what was it, the seventh inning? I don't know what about his performance in the seventh or eighth inning made you feel like he could come out for the next inning. You know, and I don't know. I mean, again, he allowed, he did allow those runs to the Giants in the eighth inning. So, eh, I mean, whatever. but I just I don't love the I don't love the idea of a guy struggling and then going back to him for multiple innings
Starting point is 00:36:06 I don't love the idea that the Diamondbacks that Tori Lobello decided to go to an unproven you know addition to this team on his first day here and be like let me see what what you got but it's also again we see it differently Damon right we see it as this being a tremendously important win we see this series as a tremendously important series to win. In fact, we've talked about it being a playoff series. We've talked about if the Diamondbacks don't have a good showing. Obviously, now they can't lose the series. They won the first two games. But splitting the series at this point seems like as much of a loss as a loss would be anyway. So again, I don't know if you split this series,
Starting point is 00:36:52 I don't know if you've proven anything about this team to Mike Hazen, to the front office, that would make them think that this team can contend, right? again prove me wrong prove prove the 500 thing wrong right it's it just it just overall tonight did not feel like a game that that Tori was serious about winning and baffling to be a very winnable game it was a very winnable game it really just doesn't make any sense to me when you outlay the way fought's been pitching versus Ravi ray tomorrow well yeah and there's that too it's that simple for me yeah we're you don't that's a scheduled loss I mean I know that's not how they operate, but like, I'm not, I'm not expecting a W tomorrow night where we'll be in attendance.
Starting point is 00:37:35 It's understandable. It's a takeover. Yeah, don't do that. We're going to do, we're going to be there. All the cool kids are going to be there. Damon, we're bringing your body as close to the Diamondbacks as we possibly can. Dave, can you bring some sage that maybe we could burn in front of Chasefield before the game. I mean, we could, but I'm literally bringing you.
Starting point is 00:37:50 I, like, I don't understand. Like, you are like, it's like I'm bringing, you know, uh, again, a giant, a giant, rabbit's foot. Just a giant five, what, five nine rabbit foot. Yeah, giant five nine. Just dragging it to the ballpark. I mean, I don't know. Maybe you could be the human version of sage.
Starting point is 00:38:11 I like to think, good luck charm. Maybe we'll get the diamondbacks to throw you over their shoulder like they would salt. Can I be honest with you for a half second though? Please. I've gone to one game this year. Yeah. Loss. Well, bullpen collapse. Against the Mets.
Starting point is 00:38:25 Lindor bomb. Yikes. Oh, maybe, maybe I, maybe this wasn't so well thought out. Maybe that's all I have to say about that. But we're going to take another quick break. And on the other side of this break, we're going to take a look at the numbers from this game. I know you guys don't want to, but we're going to do that anyway.
Starting point is 00:38:41 We're also going to get you updated on the current standings in the N hell west. As Damon already revealed, revealed the Dodgers did come back and win their game because they can't be stopped. But we also, we don't stop around here. So don't you go anywhere. I'm not going to. I'm going to say the Diamondbacks have the best Discord. So join us over here. We're having a lot of fun. Our Discord is active pitch to pitch. If you're someone that watches every D-Backs game, it's a must. It's a
Starting point is 00:43:25 Oh, yeah. I mean, they put what we do on Twitter to shame, you know? They really do. Like, I look like I'm completely inactive on Twitter compared to what goes on in the Discord throughout the night. But let's take a look at the numbers from this game presented by our friends at Desert Financial. Diamondbacks lose this one in 10 innings by a score of 6 to 5. They out hit the Giants 11 to 10.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Diamondbacks were two for 12 runners in scoring position. Obviously, a lot of squandered opportunities there. the giants meanwhile were four for 13 308 batting average for the giants 167 for the diamondbacks extra base hits both team had three and then expected batting average nearly identical at 257 258 257 for the giants 258 for you man this is tough to look at what what's the toughest part the fact that these numbers are so close and they lost or the runners in scoring position yeah that's gross i mean it's the differentiator it's it's it's the that simple. Well, we've talked about Jerry P. and his ridiculous numbers with runners in scoring
Starting point is 00:44:30 position. Like the Diamondbacks as a team collectively still have one of the worst team batting averages with runners in scoring position. And that's still with Geraldo Perdomo as a part of this team as a part of the lineup, who individually is one of the best hitters in baseball with runners in scoring position. Could you imagine what this team would be without him? My God. No, I can't. I know Damon doesn't even want to. He doesn't even want to think about that. But that that nightmarish world is a world that I will never live in. We'll never live in. We'll never live in. That's a fact. We do live in another nightmarish world. And that is the drunken orgy of violence that we'd love to call the N hell West. Let's take a look at where the Diamondbacks currently sit
Starting point is 00:45:12 in this absurd division. Diamondbacks, once again, if you didn't need a, if you needed a reminder that Diamondbacks were out of the division race, it's the fact that they're 11 and a half games back from the Dodgers. Dodgers sit at top of the division at 55 and 32. The Padres right now do have a wild card spot. They are currently 46 and 40. They are eight and a half back in the division. Giants meanwhile sit a half a game back in the wild card race, nine games back in the division. Their record is 46 and 41. And then here are the diamond backs at 43 and 43, 11 and a half back in the division. But three games back from the wild card. And again, this is the problem with the performance of this team this year.
Starting point is 00:45:59 They give you some wins that make you feel good. They even give you some wins that make you forget that you just got swept by the Marlins, who honestly, I think the Marlins surpass the Braves in the wildcard race and aren't really that far out of it themselves. I know that they're a little ways back. I think there's seven games back. But still, now they are a team that we have to kind of worry about looking back in our rearview mirror and keeping an eye on them, right?
Starting point is 00:46:23 But more importantly, the Diamondbacks have far too many teams in front of them between them and the final wildcard spot and far too many teams that are going to be active at the trade deadline trying to improve their teams. Not only does that make it harder for the Diamondbacks to be buyers instead of sellers, but it also makes the Diamondbacks, you know, the pieces that they're trying to acquire, it's going to make them that much more difficult with it being a seller's market should they try to upgrade and improve their bullpen. And upgrading and improving their bullpen, no idea.
Starting point is 00:46:52 what's going to cost if they're buyers. No idea what this team is going to do. I think that, again, there's a possibility that one name gets traded at the trade deadline that is an expiring contract at the end of the year. And if that one name is enough to bring in a large haul for this team, then it could be that situation where the Diamondbacks are just again with how this year has been where they are just so mid that when the trade deadline finally comes around, would it surprise you at all that the Diamondbacks just kind of end up being mid where they're not really a buyer, they're not really a seller. Maybe they make that move where they trade like a Zach Gallen for another starting pitcher
Starting point is 00:47:34 and perhaps some relief pitchers, maybe one relief pitcher and a starter. Maybe they fill out that like not a good starter, not a great starter, not a name brand starter that you've ever heard of. But just enough for you to be like, what the hell was that? Like they got rid of a guy that, but they got guys back, but I don't like, might not know how to feel after that. Like are we are we the reds? Feels like we're like the Cincinnati reds.
Starting point is 00:48:00 I don't want to be right now. That that mid that feels about how mid we are. Do we have to be that mid as mid as the town of Cincinnati itself? Oh God. Well, I don't want to talk about any of this anymore because it all makes me very sad. But what I do want to talk about is Catelle Marte being named an all-star starter, not only an All-Star starter, but receiving the most votes of anybody in the National League for phase two of the All-Star voting round.
Starting point is 00:48:28 We love the love for Cattell and glad he's finally getting that appreciation. And we're going to talk about it more on the other side of this break. Don't you go anywhere? You're watching the PHN X Diamond Back Show. Well, big shout out to Desert Financial Credit Union. It was far too interrupted with other things. People found me there.
Starting point is 00:50:06 They came and talked to me. I wasn't interested in that. I was sitting in a pool like I told you guys I was going to with my little Pena Claude in my hand, just living my best life. You're the mayor, man. And then that it all ended too abruptly. You're going to start putting some sunglasses on and like, A hood.
Starting point is 00:50:20 Yeah, that's really what I need to do. Yeah, for sure. I was just out there. I was just out there, bare-chested, living my best life. And of course, it was because Heel River Resorts and Casinos is the best place to go for a staycation or a wonderful night out on the town. Visit play atheela.com for more details. Well, Damon, I know it didn't end in the way that it should have, but today was a momentous occasion for the Arizona Diamondbacks because Catelle Marte was named an all-star starter for the NL team for the, the mid-summer classic coming up here in Atlanta, and it was just great to see Catell voted.
Starting point is 00:51:24 He was the second consecutive All-Star starting selection at second base, and third in his career. He is the first National League second baseman to win consecutive fan-elected starting assignments since Chase Utley did it, winning it five times in a row from 2006 to 2010. He's the first ever Diamondback with three All-Star fan elections. My goat. He's Mr. Diamondback.
Starting point is 00:51:49 He is, yeah, that's the solace that I have in knowing that when it's all said and done, Cotell Marte or Corbyn Carroll will be Mr. Diamondback, that that warms my heart, Derek. Yeah, put him, put him on Mount Rushmore. He joins Paul Goldschmidt as the second Diamondback to make three All-Star starts. He's the third D-back to earn consecutive All-Star starts joining Paul Goldschmidt and one guy named Randy Johnson. I don't know if you remember him. He won four Seye Youngs in a row one time. I'm pretty good.
Starting point is 00:52:16 He's a pretty good, he's a pretty good player. But I could tell was asked today quite a bit about what this meant to him. You know, he had his teammates out at a Chick-fil-A, not only handing out chicken sandwiches, but handing out ballots and reminding people to go vote for Katel. The love and support of Katel,
Starting point is 00:52:35 I think after that fan incident resonated with the baseball community, not just the Diamondbacks community, but everybody in baseball. I think everybody kind of has seen, had a chance to see Catelle play baseball. And, you know, again, Tori talked about the secret being out. There's, there's no more, you know, nobody not knowing how good could tell Marte is or what he means to this team. But I do think that he is a guy that's getting the recognition he deserves now.
Starting point is 00:53:05 And it's just wonderful to see. He was asked before the game just about, you know, again, being the top vote recipient for the National League. He received the most votes in the National League for Phase 2. And he got a little choked up here. We have video of his response. This is what Kattel had to say. No, I have a word, I'm something incredible.
Starting point is 00:53:29 I remember when I was doing Rihara, and he said to Kent, one of the trainers, I'm here now, but we're not going to go to the game of Stregia. There's no words. I mean, there's no words I have. Nothing I can do God to show my appreciation.
Starting point is 00:53:52 I recall when I was in rehab over at SRF with Ken Crenshaw. You were there rehab, and I told him, I said, you're going to see me in the All-Star game. I'm here now, but you're going to see me in the All-Star game. I think that is something to remember is that Cotel Marte was even injured this year, right? And he's put up some amazing numbers this season. with being injured, with being injured, you know? And like so I think his 18 home runs, you know,
Starting point is 00:54:18 the power that he's shown this year has been incredible. Right now his OPS sits at 999. He has a 300 batting average with a 404 on base percentage. He has 18 home runs and 39 RBI this season. And honestly, Cotell Marte is my favorite player to watch play baseball. He is my favorite person. And I think that, like, historically, I've had a lot of people that I've enjoyed watching play the game or been a fan of. But usually those were, you know, those kind of guys, the underrated underdogs on a team that not a lot of people remember.
Starting point is 00:54:56 Ketel Marte plays baseball with such joy. And it's so much fun to watch and play. And on top of that, he is one of the best players in the league in Major League Baseball. So he's a very special guy, but he's also one of those. people that are it's very endearing i think to baseball fans even if you are an opposing fan i think that's why he received the support he did in regards to this uh fan incident that occurred in chicago i mean this can be a tough world we live in and i was honestly pretty impressed and and i i dug the fact that the response to that situation wasn't more people being like oh toughen up oh you should have
Starting point is 00:55:37 thicker skin you're an athlete like no people felt like a line was correct and And they were like, nah, screw that fan. You don't deserve to have those kind of things shouted at you. You're a great dude. And so, again, I think the Major League Baseball world collectively came together a bit on this to give Catell this, you know, this acknowledgement, this achievement. But he also completely deserves it with the wonderful number. Right. Like it's not, like you said earlier, Damon's done with the good stories, right?
Starting point is 00:56:05 So it's not, it wasn't just a fun story. It wasn't just something people were doing because it was nice. it helped but it was also from a national perspective from the national perspective but debax fans know how good could tell marty is and like i'm ready like i mean the guy is is such a good hitter for a second baseman it's like we got to start talking all time talks eventually with him you know it's it's not just about should he be starting an all-star games he should be putting sharpy to start at all-star game at second base like enough with the Aussie albises of the world man yeah well i mean and and his numbers are so much significantly better than the other players in his league.
Starting point is 00:56:42 The other NL second baseman, Derek, have Catell posters in their room at home. That's fair. That's fair. They wear Catea pajamas. They have all of his bobbleheads. Even the ones you have to buy for $85. Cotel Marte hit his first game time home run in the seventh inning or later since he did it against the Cubs back on April 16th in 2000. And he is now homered in three of his last five games. So good stuff here.
Starting point is 00:57:15 Meanwhile, a couple other notes. Diamondback starting pitching has not been the problem lately, even though they have been the problem this season. Diamondback starters have combined for a 2.52 ERA over their last four starts dating back to June 29th. And this was Merrill Kelly's fourth quality start in his last six. So Merrill continues to be the mainstay. And the starting pitching continues to deliver.
Starting point is 00:57:36 meanwhile as far as relievers go Kyle back is like I said he just once again has that certified G bona fide stud label because he is scoreless in eight of his nine games he has a 1.08 ERA he has allowed five hits two oaks
Starting point is 00:57:54 and 10 strikeouts in his season so great stuff here from some of these players but again not great stuff from the rest of the bullpen namely James Woodford or Jake Woodford. I'll try to get his name right, but maybe I don't need to.
Starting point is 00:58:10 He might not be around for long, but he did make his D-back debut there. And it was his first Major League appearance in September 18, 2024. Not really surprised with the way things went, but hopefully, honestly, it's like a lot of things. Like, I know we get disappointed with the performance of players, but considering the Diamondbacks need, it would be great to see Woodford actually turn things around and be one of those guys in the bullpen for Tori Lavello. that he could count on in high leverage situations. After what I saw tonight, I don't really believe strongly that that's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:58:44 But prove me wrong, prove me wrong. And then you can say curse words to me like Jake McCarthy did on the broadcast last night. And also, by the way, Ryan Thompson tried to RKO me in the clubhouse. I don't know if I should be telling people that, but I feel like I feel like I'm tattling on him. By the way, I just want you guys to know what I have to go through, attempted RKOs by men that are seven feet tall in the clubhouse. So, Cazel Marte, very good at baseball.
Starting point is 00:59:08 Great for him to get that. Thank you guys so much for being here tonight. It's not, the outcome wasn't great, but most part, at least hanging out with you guys always is. We got some super chats to get to before we get out of here, Damon. Yeah, we absolutely do. And we're going to do it in extra innings here, Derek. Yeah, let's do that. Let's, I don't want to go to extra innings, but let's go to extra innings.
Starting point is 00:59:28 Overtime. If you were watching anywhere else, make sure to come on over to go phynx.com, YouTube. Watch us here. a piece of Yoshi and has a super chat here. Yeah, it's the usual suspects. Piece of Yoshi. Can we talk about Tawa's sackbunts or lack thereof? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:44 I mean, I know in that instance, what was that basis loaded right there with Tawa at the bat? I don't know. I mean, I don't really know what was even going on in that bat. I mean, I know that the,
Starting point is 01:00:00 I think it was still the giant starter at that point. It was kind of painting the corners there a little bit. But man, if you're going to go out there and bunt, you just need to go out there and bunt. Just go out there and do it. I mean, again, I think that there's a lack of confidence by a lot of players on this team. It was the reason why I was so kind of pumped by James McCann saying, telling us about the conversation he had with Zach Gallen, right? Simply to look at another guy and tell him that you're good. Like, just to remind them, like, dude, I've faced you.
Starting point is 01:00:33 You're good. I hated when I had to hit against you, you know, or whatever the case may be. Like it could mean a lot. And I think in some cases, a lot of players on this team kind of need somebody to look at them in the eyes and be like, bitch, you're good. You're good at this. You're talented. You can do this, right? Not, I mean, we don't always get that a lot in life.
Starting point is 01:00:55 I made a comparison about that just about people here in this office. I get a lot of praise from like my friends and family members. they're very nice to me. They're like, oh, man, you do a great job. Honestly, it's meaningless to me. But it's not meaningless to me when Damon tells me that I did good on something because Damon- That never happens. It never happens.
Starting point is 01:01:16 He never tells me I did a good job at anything. Yep. So when he says it, I know I actually did a good job. I know I actually achieved something. Oh, Derek, that meetings with the mayor was actually funny. Yeah. I like to throw in a little bit of a back-handed. Yeah, it's always got to be a backhanded compliment.
Starting point is 01:01:32 but I'll see through it. I'll take the little nugget. If you will, it's like a squirrel during the winter. I will take that acorn of positivity, of belief in me, and I'll run right up to my tree and leave it up there. And that's the way sometimes, like, again, you can have all the people in your life tell you you're a good baseball player,
Starting point is 01:01:49 but sometimes when you have one of your teammates look and say, dude, I hated facing you. You're good. Stop being like this. Believe in yourself. It can mean the world. And I don't know.
Starting point is 01:02:01 I mean, again, saw that from Tawa in that in that moment, right? So scared to make a mistake that he, that does end up ever actually. The magic is dead. Yeah, I know. I hate to say it, but, you know, Kevin Newman gave us a good season last year and he sustained it a little bit more. Yeah. But he also tailed off at the end. He did.
Starting point is 01:02:21 Tim Tawa is, it's done. We might need to bring in a new utility man for his magic. Transonic says Tawa will be sent down instead of Jake when Corbyn comes back. Sure. There are some tough decisions to be made in regards to that, right? Maybe give Blaze a little bit more run. Maybe you got James McCann. There's also a difficult decision that needs to be made there between Gabriel Morena,
Starting point is 01:02:41 Jose Herrera, and McCann. And I know a lot of people do not want Jose Herrera to be that choice. I get it. Is it difficult? I mean, have you seen James McCann's biceps? Don't even get me started on what a gigantic fellow he is. He's huge. You should try to get him into wrestling, like a wrestling career if it doesn't work out with the feedbacks.
Starting point is 01:02:59 Okay, you know, it's funny. Speaking of Brian Thompson, he was like, hey, maybe when I'm done, I'll do wrestling. I was like, yeah, right. We want James McCann. With those arms, pal? Get out of your scarecrow, man. Go tell James McCann, I want to manage him as a pro wrestler. That's what I was coming with.
Starting point is 01:03:14 But no, BCSC sent us some super chats. You want to do those? Yeah, we blew it, man, trade it all. I'm daddy. And then says, did someone say, let's get freaky? Okay, Damon. Again, I'm so jealous. Which that one makes me feel good.
Starting point is 01:03:28 I don't ever get balled. No, you don't. Not once does he talk about my cakes? What else we got? Very true. I need Catelle cake, but he's playing an all-star game. Yeah, I get it. Also, once again, happily married, BCSC.
Starting point is 01:03:41 But regardless, it still would feel nice. Yeah, again, I'm happily married. Yeah, exactly. Look, as a married man, every once in all, I just want to know that people are still interested in me. That's all I'm saying, BCSC. But anyway, we have ourselves another game tomorrow. And as you know, we will be there.
Starting point is 01:03:59 present for it. So unfortunately, no post game show tomorrow. He says ESpo wants me to eat his cake. I will. But see, again, he's leaving me out of it. It's like he's purposefully including everybody in the office except me. Is Eriton going to get a shout out to?
Starting point is 01:05:10 Is Eriton going to be here? What is his... I don't know if BCCC has had enough interaction with Eriton yet, but BCCC would love Ayrton. The ginger mamba? Mamba? Freckled Mamba. Freckled Mamba. That's right.
Starting point is 01:05:22 Both of them apply. But anyway, all right. Well, I appreciate you guys so much. Love you guys. We'll see you tomorrow at noon and maybe see some of you even in person tomorrow evening for our pool party takeover. If you haven't gotten tickets for that yet, go get them right now. Starting point is 01:05:41 Free food, free drink, all that's part of your ticket. You get a towel to take home with you. And most importantly, you'll see me shirtless. And Damon might also be shirtless. That's just that's once again to get his energy as close to the Diamondbacks as we possibly can. because we need to fix this team. Well, we thank you again for your time. We'll see you tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:05:59 Until then, have a wonderful rest of your evening. Behave yourselves and remember kids. Baseball is fun, but it's so much more fun when you can actually pull off the comeback and win an extra inning.
