PHNX Arizona Diamondbacks Podcast - POSTGAME: Zac Gallen OUTCLASSED by Shohei Ohtani, D-backs Get EMBARRASSED in Loss to Dodgers
Episode Date: June 4, 2026There’s no sugarcoating it: the Arizona Diamondbacks got absolutely steamrolled by Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night. On a day that already brought concerning news regardi...ng Corbin Burnes’ recovery, things only got worse on the field as Zac Gallen and Brandon Pfaadt were both knocked around by the defending World Series champions. We break down another frustrating night for the D-backs, including an offense that had no answers for Ohtani on the mound and the impact of Ketel Marte being out of the lineup. We also discuss the latest on Burnes, the growing concerns surrounding Arizona’s rotation, and the start of MLB All-Star voting, which after a loss like this feels like the last thing anyone wants to think about. Well, the Arizona Diamondbacks got their asses kick seven to nothing, and that's it.
That's all we got for tonight.
We appreciate you guys stopping by.
Hope you all have yourselves a wonderful evening.
And remember, kids, baseball is fun, but it's so much more fun when you don't have to do a podcast about a game like this.
Well, there's no other way to say it.
The Diamondbacks got their asses beat tonight.
Welcome in to another edition of the PHNX Diamondbacks podcast live from Studio K,
presented by our friends at Circle Cay.
It is your mayor of PHNX,
occasionally known as Derek Montea,
and I am here with your dog,
my dog, definitely not the D-Backs dog tonight,
but he is a Damon dog,
aka Damon Farrell on the ones and twos.
And again, there is no other way to say it.
The Diamondbacks lose by a score of 7 to nothing
and simply got outclassed in every possible way tonight
by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
This show is brought to you by our friends

terms to apply. Maybe, just maybe,
hold off on watching this team play against the Dodgers.
I'm just saying maybe don't use that game time
credit to go watch them play the Dodgers,
especially if you don't like watching bad things happen to your baseball team.
And a lot of bad things happen to this baseball team tonight.
Diamondbacks lose by a score of 7 to nothing.
And even though they drop to 32 and 29 and are still three games above 500,
it's hard for tonight to not to feel like rock bottom, Damon.
And I know that we pivot very fast when it comes to baseball,
especially with 162 of these things during the regular season.
it just doesn't take much for you to simply be out on your baseball team sometimes.
And after watching Shohei Otani, that absolute criminal, do what he did to the Arizona Diamondbacks
both offensively and defensively tonight.
It's hard to even feel like this Diamondbacks team will ever win a baseball game ever again.
Otani was as advertised, nearly no hitting the debacks, while also going three for four
with two walks and run scored.
Meanwhile, the debacks mustered up two hits and two walks.
and Dodgers, pitchers overall faced four over the minimum thanks to a double play
and an error there in the ninth inning.
But like I said, there's no other way to say it.
The Diamondbacks got their asses kicked tonight on both sides of the ball.
Gallen was terrible.
The offense was terrible.
And, of course, this comes on the heels of the news that we heard today about Corbyn Burns,
which we will get to here shortly.
But again, not good news for this.
team, it feels like we never get good news, and it feels even like when we are on the verge of
of things turning around, things go south very quickly. But again, I will start off with saying
that there is a big problem with Zach Gallen, and we've known it for the majority of the year,
I'll say. But I think Gallen is kind of in that same boat, perhaps that Alec Thomas was,
where past performances and what he has meant to this team in 2022,
2023, all of those years where he was so good,
makes you hold on to hope that we'll see Gallen turn things around.
And again, this is on a day where we found out that Zach Gallen was going to be
in the starting rotation for the foreseeable future as far as options for the Diamondbacks are concerned.
And here he had one of his worst outings this season,
as a starter.
He gave up a lead off single
to Shohay Otani in the first,
but he got Pahas to fly out.
Freddie Freeman to hit
into the inning-ending double play,
super efficient,
and things look good, right?
You're going to give up hits to Otani.
It's fine,
especially if you can race them
with a double play.
But then in the second inning,
the thing that happens to Zach Damon
happened to Zach.
I hate to say it,
and I feel like deep down inside,
I want to say that the error by Geraldo Perdomo in the second inning really wasn't the reason why Zach Gallin's night fell apart, why he fell to shambles. I want to say that this was going to happen anyway, and perhaps that was just the beginning of things. However, if you are a viewer of this show, you know that we have been talking a lot about how much Zach Gallen can tend to fall apart when he has an error happened behind him.
And it felt like that was the exact thing that happened.
He had a fielding error on a routine play by Geraldo Perdomo that allowed mooky bets to reach.
And the very next batter was Kyle Tucker, who has been not very good this year and has struggled.
He, of course, hit a two run, home run to give the Dodgers a two nothing lead.
Charity home run.
I mean, it really felt like that.
And again, I just think that it's, you know, it's unfortunate to see the way that he falls apart.
I also want to address Sean saying, plus, yeah, that sticky stuff.
I'm very well aware of Enosarous's comments and his thoughts on Zach Gallen,
but as much as that might definitely be some sort of excuse, it's still unproven,
and it still doesn't exactly, you know, explain everything of what's gone wrong with Zach Gallen,
but it very much could be that.
I mean, it feels a lot of it feels so command-based that I definitely,
feel like it has legs, right?
And that's why, you know, it's so hard.
And his fastball being so bad.
Yeah.
And it was three years ago.
No doubt.
And it's so hard to really connect the dots here on anything else.
We're struggling to find other ideas of what's really happening because guys don't physically
decline without major injuries at 29, 30 years old the way Zach Gallin has the last two seasons.
It's baffling.
Can I say this, though, too, just as far as those kind of accusations that are
levied against Zach go. I feel like if someone like, you know, Saris, who I'm not going to take
anything away from because he's a very smart, very knowledgeable baseball mind, uh, has
realized that. I'm doubtful that the Diamondbacks organization didn't also realize that, right?
Is that fair to say? Well, I mean, someone made the point to me on Twitter and I thought it was
kind of funny. Like, and it was, it was somewhat true. It feels like every team in baseball,
but the Diamondbacks knew Zach Gallen was doing sticky stuff because every other team in baseball.
Nobody wanted to trade for him.
No one wanted to trade for him.
Nobody wanted to sign him.
We're the only team that wants anything to do with Zach Gallen and all of a sudden you start like raising your eyebrows and you're like, oh, is there is there something to that?
I mean, that's actually, that's actually very fair.
Right.
Like I was like, honestly, that's a fair point.
Like everybody is, wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole.
No one's trading for him, not even for like one Tyler Locklear level prospect.
And like, I mean, come on.
Yeah.
Well, and Sean, Sean who brought up the sticky stuff also says the alleged sticky stuff aiding him is nothing compared to him just not executing.
And that is also very fair, right?
It's not to say Zach Gallen wasn't, isn't able to go out there tonight and hit 95.2 miles per hour with his fastball, right?
He's not like a complete wash.
but really what it was was his command
and it's the fact that the fastball wasn't fooling anybody
and the fastball continues to not fool anybody.
He got one whiff on it tonight.
One whiff on his fastball.
One, swing and miss.
And Katie in the chat says,
wait, did I miss allegations?
Not necessarily allegations,
but I mean, overall,
over on our friends at Snake's territory with Jack and Jesse,
they had on Enosaris,
who had suggested that Zach's struggles is because of,
of him kind of being a pitcher during an era where sticky stuff was allowed versus the other side
of things where it was no longer allowed.
And that that essentially was the reason why we saw the drop off in Zach Gallin essentially
having an historic beginning of his career versus what he is now.
Yeah.
I mean, and I just want to say that like I think when, you know, good baseball, great baseball minds,
like the people were talking about, you know, on that snake's exterior.
Are sitting here as well as us, Derek, you know, people that I respect immensely with their ideas with pitching and whatnot are going to sit here and say, we're also, you know, kind of baffled.
Yeah.
By what's going on with Zach Gallen.
Right.
Because it really doesn't make a lot of sense to anybody.
Yeah.
If the Diamondbacks were truly all the way out on Zach Allen, they don't bring him back at a $20 million per year clip.
That's where I'm at.
Like, I would love to say, um, that.
It's...
But who's signing him this offseason?
Who?
I don't know, Damon.
For what?
I don't know.
And now we have our guy,
Miroca money?
Mighty Schumann in the chat says,
Nick Picoro said Fott is likely to get stretched out again,
whether that's in the rotation or AAA, I don't know, or triple A.
I don't know.
Again, there's some risk there, right, to Fought getting stretched out again.
We also said that that was probably what they should have done in the first goddamn place,
is put Fought in Reno.
Let Fott go out and go.
down and get better and start every five days.
Stop doing this conversion to a bullpen arm when you have no commitment to keep him a
bullpen arm going forward beyond this year.
It's a weird experiment that is here out of necessity, right?
It is a weird situation that they put Brandon fought into based on them feeling like this
is the best option to help this team win baseball games.
Not necessarily the best option for Brandon fought or his career, not necessarily the
best option for depth for this team should they experience what they're experiencing now with
Zach Gallen. Injuries suck and the Corbin-Burns setback that we're going to talk about sucks.
But what also sucks is when one of your starters is going out there and just absolutely shitting
the bed when he goes out there on the mountain, right? Like we can't have this. And I mean, you said it
best. Again, we're going to get to Cattel Marte also not being in the lineup. This felt like one of the
most loss,
chalk it up as a loss
games that we've ever experienced
with this team. AutoL.
Just an automatic L.
And of course, you do have
a very good show Hey Otani on the mound.
The matchup found
its way to be Zach Gowan, which essentially
is your worst starting pitcher right now.
Why not give Cotel Marte
the day off? Hell, why not give everybody the day off?
Why not send him all down a AAA for
a game and then call him back?
up. It did feel like Derek like yesterday, it made yesterday hurt a little bit more to me, at least.
When I saw the lineup today, when I saw and realized it was Gallant, V. Otani, no could tell in the
lineup because he's a little bit banged up supposedly, which hopefully is not anything worse than that.
But it sounds like they were just taking a precautionary rest day here.
But yeah, I mean, it just, it definitely felt like yesterday was one that you really, really wanted to have.
Look, I said what I said about Alec Thomas, and I am still a guy that deep down inside, my soul is rooting for Alec Thomas.
I will still probably root for Zach Gallen, no matter what happens to him, because he's just kind of one of our guys like that, right?
And it sucks to say that about Alec Thomas, considering what organization he currently is a part of, right?
I mean, that's part for the course for you, Derek.
Yeah, I know, Dr. Derek over here, right?
But we talked to us hitting 0.83 in the complex league and he finally got called up.
what is he at AAA for the Dodgers?
Yeah, I think so.
And he hit a home run tonight, right?
So it's like the first thing I thought when you told me that Damon was good for him, you know, good for Alec.
I hope he, I hope I never see him in a Dodgers uniform facing off against Diamondbacks,
but I also don't want his baseball career to be over.
Similar with Galen, but I will say that drastic measures need to be taken.
And if they are deciding to possibly go with fought or perhaps do some sort of piggyback situation,
like they're doing in Seattle,
even though this would be like just two pitchers
that things aren't working for,
piggybacking on each other,
which might not be the best case scenario.
It might be a little bit like Carlos Santana
teaching Alec Thomas how to hit, right?
Like that might not be the best scenario
for success here when it comes to this team.
Meanwhile, in the third inning gallon,
Wacht Otani, who just refused to stay off base all night long.
Andy Paix hit a double.
And I mean, we have, look,
we have some of those pitch charts, Damon,
from, or the pitch by pitch, excuse me.
Let's go to the pitch by pitch here.
We got the Andy Pahas double, which is just a slider that didn't slide.
That's 89 miles per hour right there just off center.
Right, right.
Like as a batter, I would love to hit a ball that laying right there, Damon.
That's like my sweet spot right there.
Especially 89 at a major league level.
Yeah, like I'm not hitting that myself.
But still, if I was an actual major league hitter, that would be just delicious.
to see. You also have Kyle Tucker
hitting his home run
that he hits with mokey bets on base
and again this is a four seam fastball
94 miles per hour.
Maybe it could be a little bit more
dead center but not much
it's basically dead center right.
This is what happens when you have control
meaning you can throw your pitches into
the strike zone but you don't have any command
which is the thing that it would take
to ensure that you don't throw the pitch
right there, right there where he threw
it. His forcing fastball
just was not very good this season was not good tonight.
Like I said, he did max out at 95.2 with it.
And he averaged,
he landed right on his season average at 93.5.
But again, he used it for 33% of the outing,
which shows that he was trying to stay away from it a little bit,
not using it in that 45 to 50% range,
not being able to set up his off speed stuff.
Definitely not able to set up the knuckle curve,
which, as we see here,
is that delightful purple color.
We discussed that yesterday.
Knuckle curve was fine, but still just not extremely competitive.
As you can see, a lot of those purple dots are very, very far outside of the zone.
They were not landing where we wanted it to and was not really fooling anyone with it.
Let me stop you for a second.
That is absolutely not the same slur of color that is on Michael Sorokas slur.
Right, because this is the knuckle curve.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
This is purple.
Well, you said that we discussed yesterday.
Yeah, we discussed.
Because you had asked me what color the knuckle curve was.
And I said, I thought it was.
I thought it was purple or some sort of shade of blue.
Oh, I asked you off air. I asked you off air.
I'm sorry.
I'm thinking, I'm in, I'm in, uh, I'm in, uh,
sure we did that on air because we talk, we talk colors of the strike zone quite a bit.
And how much I love that periwinkle blue of the slurve, but you're right.
We did do it on there.
The deep purple, too, of the knuckle curve is delightful as well.
But I asked you about a knuckle ball to be fair.
That's, oh, okay, okay.
I thought you were talking about the knuckle curve.
I have no idea what the knuckle ball or the ephus is.
I still think Ephus should be gray.
In fact, show Aeotani was throwing a curve ball.
tonight. Damon 69.3 miles per hour, 72.4 miles per hour landing that son of a bitch in the zone.
Might as well be an ephist. It might as well been Ephus. It was what he was doing to this team tonight
was, uh, well, it should be studied by scientists because he terrorized the diamondbacks.
We're going to talk about him head hunting our players. But, uh, meanwhile, you could not say
the same about Zach Gallin. Uh, he's got three whiffs on the knuckle curve. That was the most that he got.
Swing and miss on, but it got change up, two whiffs on his change up, and two whiffs on his slider.
He threw those an equal amount.
And then his sinker, he threw 6% of the time.
Gallen was only able to go five innings tonight, giving up nine hits, five runs, four of which were earned because one was on an error there by her old Oprah Domo.
You had two walks and one K?
Damon, do we, I mean, it's those high summer months that we've been talking about.
Do we turn on?
one of those things, Derek, where I was, you know, I made this tonight.
And it almost felt disrespectful to our partners over at Circle K.
But why don't we chug it on up?
It feels disrespectful to Circle K.
It feels disrespectful to you to have to put the work into that.
Like, I'm sorry.
I'm sorry, Circle K that you have to have your name on this.
We wish Zach Allen was better for you, Circle K, because you deserve it.
Truly, truly.
I thought about doing a combined strikeouts one.
That's how, and that wouldn't even look very good.
But let's also talk about the bullpen because Taylor Clark was
fine. I mean, he had two base runners.
He gave up a hit and a walk, but he struck out one.
Got one inning pitch.
No runs scored. Did his thing.
Again, on a
night where the Diamondbacks got some
fairly devastating news about Corbyn Burns'
return status,
Brandon Fott and Zach Gowlin
were both terrible. Brandon Fott
and his one inning of work gave up
three hits, two earned runs,
walk two, struck out
one. I don't even know what's
say, honestly. I don't know what to say. We've talked about fought being misused. We've talked about
fought having, you know, being being asked to stay in there too long. We've said if you can keep
fought at least just one turn through the lineup, instead of trying to push him beyond, you know,
three plus innings, he should be fine. He's not fine. He wasn't fine tonight. And he couldn't do
much to stop the Dodgers. It just feels even worse. Like I said, to have these two guys not performing
when we get the news today that Corbyn Burns will be shut down
due to a terrorist major strain,
which is completely different than the Tommy John surgery,
has nothing to do with the Tommy John injury,
and is just an unfortunate setback overall.
I've seen a lot of people throwing some wild accusations out there on social media
that this is all because the Diamondbacks asked him to come back too fast
or that he was trying too hard.
I assure you, as much as Corbyn Burns's spirit was willing to be back in May,
nobody was letting him do that.
Nobody was pushing him harder.
And no one was trying to get him here sooner than the anticipated date,
which was and always has been essentially, right, Damon, the all-star break in July.
And that really hasn't changed.
It's kind of like even with AJ Puck, who told us that he was going to be ready to be back in the lineup in May.
and here it is June
and he's doing his rehab starts
just like they said he would be doing it
to start of May most or
started June most likely and he'll be back
mid-June right so
there was no pushing Corbyn Burns harder
there was nothing that was done
to cause this
it's just unfortunate
I'll also say to anybody
and Jason I got a
I gotta throw it at you
this is not the worst signing
in Diamondbacks history by far
this is just an unfortunate
injury situation that nobody can really foresee coming, especially when you're talking about
what has been one of the most durable all-star elite pitchers in all of Major League Baseball
in Corbyn Burns. I can attest to this as a 45-year-old man. The older you get, the more
your body just betrays you is really what it comes down to. But we have Tori Lavello talking
pregame about this news, this unfortunate news. Here's what he had to say about Burns
missing some additional time.
One couple of injury updates, one that's going to be become very interesting to you guys.
Corbyn Barnes has been, had a little setback.
He has a terrorist major strain in his right lat area and he's going to be pulled, pulled back from throwing,
and it's weeks, not days.
I know you guys are going to want to know things such as imaging.
Yes, he had it.
How long will it be?
I'm not sure, but he's going to be in a little bit of a recovery phase right now,
and I'll keep you posted as the information comes where he starts, comes my way,
where he starts to do his modalities or any type of range of motion stuff.
I'll let you know when that progression starts.
But for right now, he's been pulled back from any throwing activities.
Our guy, Lando, in the chat, says, how long do we really think Burns will be out for?
that was discussed.
They did not want to put a timetable on it,
but it sounds like the expected date,
as long as everything goes well, is September.
Yeah, that was what, based off of the media availability,
someone asked specifically,
does that mean like September is the target date?
And Tori didn't, he said yes without saying yes, basically.
Right, right.
Well, and again, it's hard to say,
they're adding essentially four to six weeks onto his recovery.
But the problem is,
is that they have to shut him down now.
So when those four to six weeks pass, then he has to start his throwing program all over again, which essentially means a lot of the progress that he's made throwing these bullpins that he hates and throwing this non-game action pitching that he's been doing is kind of a wash now.
And he'll have to like start over building back up on the other side of this.
Now he won't start from zero considering he has built himself up some, but they will need to shut him down,
completely until he recovers from this injury.
As far as Corbyn Burns' contract status is concerned, it's crazy because we just talked about
this on last night's show.
I almost feel like we made this shit happen.
I was sick.
I mean, this had already happened by the point we were talking about it, which is the funny part.
So if any Diamondbacks, like staff, personnel, people that were privy to that information
were listening, they were probably like, look at these bozos talking about bringing Corvin
burns back when now it's possibly not even going to happen at all ever again in a diamondbacks
uniform it's very possible that it never happens again i i would think that it's more possible
that he opts in at this point yeah it's what i was going to say it's far more possible that he opts in and
like you said based on that deal it's not like it's an opt in just for one deal if he opts in then
there's there's years added on to that deal right as it stands i can't imagine him being you know
potentially that close to the end of the season recovering from injury and getting a
contract that is bigger than what the diamondbacks have lined up for him or more years, right?
I mean, I'm sure a team is not going to want to commit to him right now until they see him
perform for an extended period of time and feel like he's actually, you know, fully back and
fully himself again, right?
Yeah, yeah.
I want to be clear.
That wasn't my take wasn't that he's now more likely to opt out of his contract.
I was just saying that there's a chance that we never see him again in a diamond back's
uniform just by way of if it's until September and then he does opt out, then we would never
see him again. Right, right, right. So I was just trying to like set the tone for like, for like how,
how drastic this could be. I do think that this improves the odds that he comes back. So right. But as far as
what you're saying, you, you are right. There is no guarantee that he returns by September. And I mean,
honestly, if the Diamondbacks have a conversation with him where he fully intends to opt in and he just
lets them know of that, then they might be that much more likely to not ask him to return this
season because they want to just shut them down and have them have a full recovery, a full
off season.
And then just come back whenever the hell 2027 starts.
And so much is in the air.
Yeah.
So much is in the air with this entire injury.
Bees, you're not wrong that it would be such an AZ thing for him to opt out.
But I will also say, again, this is kind of like with Zach, right?
Like who is going to give him the money that he already.
is going to get by opting in with the Diamondbacks.
That's the big question.
Maybe there's a team willing to take that risk,
and it's a more appealing situation for Corbyn,
but that seems unlikely based on this injury.
It also seems unlikely that he would want to move
because he came here to be in Arizona
so that he and his wife and his family could be here in this state.
It does not feel very likely that he's going to randomly opt out
just to get more money because it doesn't seem like any of those things
are going to happen.
That's then, though. That's negative, bad talk, and we already have enough negativity to deal with.
We got to talk about Joey Otani, nearly no hitting our team.
So let's just take a step back, take a breath, let's take a break.
And we're going to talk about that terribleness on the other side of this break.
Don't you go anywhere. You're watching the PH and X Diamond Beck Show.
Ah! Well, I'll tell you, I hope nobody except maybe one person is ever involved in a serious injury or accident.
I probably shouldn't say that.
But I hope none of you are.
But if you ever are, I'll tell you the team to go to is the husband and wife law team.
The lawyer you hire does matter.
And that is because you want to hire an attorney that's focused on your best outcome,
not how much money the firm makes.
And that's the husband and wife law team.
Their team brings hundreds of years of combined trial experience
with multiple certified specialists in personal injury and wrongful death.
And that's important because in Arizona,
the state bar is only certified less than 1% of all attorneys
as specialists and injury and wrongful death litigation,
making the husband and wife law team experts in the field.
They also actually go to trial for their clients.
They know what needs to be done in a courtroom to prevail
in front of a judge and a jury,
and they are willing to do so for you to get your case gone through.

Things don't look good for us when it comes to the World Cup,
But I'll tell you, Don Julio 1942 always makes everything better.
We got our draw.
We got our teams.
We have two of the three best teams in Africa to root for.
We do.
You're right about that.
But our chances of winning that beautiful trophy.
We are Africa.
They definitely feel like they've diminished.
However, me and Damon, we will not give up hope.
We will fight.
We will root for our teams.
And we will raise at least one of these bottles to celebrate the World Cup.
and Don Julio 1942.
That bottle that they have is iconic,
and they have three different options
that are special just for the World Cup,
including the original that is the icon of celebrations,
the trophy that we've been showing you guys here in studio.
That is for legends on and off the field.
And they even have a mini for small but iconic moments.
And everyone can take one of these trophy homes.
Trophy home, you can take home a special edition of Don Julio, 1942,
that honors the artistry of tequila making as symbol as timeless
as a beautiful game itself.
and inspired by the FIFA World Cup trophy.
It's absolutely gorgeous.
So make sure to grab yours before they're gone.
And also be on the lookout for U.S. men's national team in Mexico watch parties.
This summer will have samples and prizes for those in attendance.
And they are coming up soon, right?
We got one on June 11th for Team Mexico, a noon kickoff at Phillies on Warner.
And on Friday, June 12th, we got ourselves won at Phillies and Scottsdale at 6 p.m.
So make sure to join us for all of that fun.
whether you're at your favorite spot or stocking up for home, make it a Don Julio 1942.
And I'm sad, Damon, because Jonathan from Ungabunga has, like, been a true supporter of this team,
but he says, chat, it's low-key over, which means it might, in fact, low-key be over.
The 9-Avacs have not responded well, obviously, to these tests.
We've talked about, yes, they took care of business against the National League West chumps, right?
They went 11 and 2 over that 13-game stretch, and that is now.
in the distant rearview mirror because they got swept in Seattle and now have lost two out of three
to the Dodgers with one last chance to salvage the series and perhaps split it with the Dodgers
instead of losing three out of four to LA. But I will tell you, the offense tonight was dominated
by Shohei Otani. And that is because Shohei Otani tried his best to murder our players.
Furthering Damon's agenda about him truly being a criminal,
Perdomo hit leadoff tonight and almost got hit twice by Otani as the first batter of the game.
Then Otani almost killed Nolan Arnato hitting him in the head in the second inning.
They cut Damon during the broadcast to Jeff Bannister,
and I thought we were finally going to see the bench clearing brawl initiated by Jeff Bannister
that we have been waiting to see.
Because he was having none of it.
He was having none of it on a Nolan Aronado almost.
hit by pitch. Derek, if I was there, they should hire me and put me in the in the dugout just
so if Otani throws one inch too far inside that they know I'm just running out.
Yeah. Starting something. You know what I mean? Someone has to hold this guy accountable.
I saw Sean talking about it earlier in the chat, but the problem is the second that you
would throw at Otani, who's actively trying to kill players on the Arizona Diamondbacks,
of course, you know, if you threw at him at all, they would literally drag you into the, you know,
bowels of Chase Field and like hook you up to some sort of torture device.
You would just disappear.
You know, you'd never think some Russian guys would make sure that you were never heard from again.
They'd erase your history, your identity.
Like, no, anybody that knew you would also be taken out.
Like, it's definitely not.
But how are we not going to hold this guy accountable at all?
Like, yes, he is intimidating people because he's throwing a hundred miles.
per hour at their faces and at their faces and ankles over and over and over over
over Jose Fernandez's head in the third inning I like I joke about this and I feel like I wrote
this down in jest but then I actually started wondering like how is it that a guy comes over and
almost nails a batter and then after almost hitting him in the head throws three pinpoint
pitches in the corners of the zone almost perfectly no he's coming in the strike
All of a sudden his command was on point, Derek.
And I mean, that happened to Aronado, that happened to Jose Fernandez.
It truly felt like it was a tactic by Otani to either brush guys back from the plate or do whatever.
And then, you know, then he could, then he can dominate.
But Derek, it's okay.
Because he did a cute little tongue dance when the organs were playing tonight.
And so no one cares about whether or not he's trying to actively assault people.
He had perfect tongue coordination to the song Blister in the Sun.
That's different than him doing a little tongue dance to the organ, Damon.
We got to like, let's get facts straight when it comes to this man.
He's a robot.
He's not human.
And he's here as a sci-op, I feel like.
Derek, and the problem is, and then this is where me and you start differing.
And again, like, I don't want you to be the bad guy here.
But when it's just the two of us that are talking on this podcast,
it starts to look like a little bit like you're either with Damon,
or you're against Damon on the Otani subject.
And when Derek starts giving me the whole,
oh, the thing about Otani is he's too perfect.
That's why I hate him so much.
Because he's too perfect.
And I'm like, Otani makes everyone think that he's perfect
while he's actively trying to kill my players.
That's why I hate him.
Because Major League Baseball has convinced the masses
that he is some sweet baby angel.
And yet Nolan Aeronado saw him.
His life flash before his eyes tonight.
He called his children after the game was over and said,
Papa loves you.
I just needed to tell you that before you went to bed tonight.
Look, sometimes when you have a scare in your life, you know, is put on the line.
You do contact your family to tell them that.
Look, he's a robot criminal, as Becca says, Derek.
100%.
Becca gets it right.
Becca gets it straight.
Dodgers fans in here.
Yeah, dislike it.
They have no business being in here in the first place.
but you're not going to get any positive.
I'm doing the Draymond Green right now.
Come on.
Damon, this was a game where the Diamondbacks also just were awful offensively.
There's nothing here of substance to talk about
because even once Otani left the game, the Diamondback,
I felt like they got even worse.
You know what I mean?
You're talking about two innings, hitless, scoreless by Hernandez,
one inning by Dreyer with nothing, no hits, no walks, no nothing.
The only base runner that they had after Otani left the game was one single walk
and then Moreno reached in the ninth on an error.
Right?
So that's the trash offense that the Diamondbacks put out there tonight.
And it's the way the offense has gone against far worse pitchers than Shoahe Otani.
That's for sure.
But again, there was also terrible defense.
And I don't know, man.
I could bring it up again.
but I felt like when Pardomo missed making a routine throw
to get Mookie Betts at first base,
it caused Zach Gowan to unravel.
And I feel like that's far more on Zach Gowan
that it is on Pardomo.
However, Damon, as the biggest Pardomo supporter
in the entire known universe,
um,
I mean,
errors happen.
I feel like you got to play your best defense,
though,
when your bat is as bad as his has been lately.
I wish I had the James Winston video ready to go, Derek,
so that I can play it right here because,
I see how hard he works.
I know who he is as a person.
I know what he does inside this facility,
but we're going to keep believing in him.
It will figure it out.
He will figure it out eventually.
To be fair.
I don't know why.
I'm just going to continue to say it.
To be fair,
he is one of two players that got a hit tonight.
True.
I mean,
and he's not the problem.
Everybody was the problem.
Everybody was the problem.
The problem is that we talked about with Prudoma all the time,
is like,
he hasn't been hitting and then he makes mistakes on defense it's pretty hard to take yeah he needs
to almost be flawless defensively because his offense just has not been there this year so until the
offense gets figured out he needs to bring it on the defensive side and and you know that's that's
unacceptable and that's coming from me yeah that's coming from you that's a lot uh we got it we got
we we we kind of glossed over it a little bit but again got to take a step back here offense was bad
but on a day where we got that news about Corbyn Burns,
how does Zach Gallin and Brandon Fott not both step up?
How are those two guys?
Like, not to say it's easier for me as a chubby guy sitting in this chair right now
to say, oh, step up, pitch better, right?
But like, again, you feel like instead of seeing some of the best performances
out of those two on a day where we found out that they're both going to be needed
and crucial parts of this team for longer than we anticipate.
and a big part of if this team makes the playoffs or not,
how are they going to both kind of have their worst games as a starter and as a reliever today?
It's the Dodgers.
Dodgers were good today, but still, how are those two guys of anybody on this team,
anybody on this roster going to be the guys that let us down on a day like this?
It really, truly just compounds the devastating news that we're losing Corbyn Burns
for essentially an additional month or two.
Yeah, it does because Zach Gallen's been the weak link of this rotation all season long.
We knew that, you know, he was definitely the guy as of now that would make way, right?
Because Soroka's had those big time performances, even if he's been a little bit up and down.
Erod's been the best, most consistent pitcher on the team this year.
Ryan Nelson has shown, I think, a lot of life recently, and Merrill Kelly looks to be back on track.
So it was always looking like Zach Gallen, the guy who only has a one-year deal, who has an expiring deal,
would be the odd man out as of right now.
But with this burn situation, it extends the leash of another guy keeping his spot in the rotation.
But if Zach Allen's going to pitch like this and be a complete and utter bum,
then you don't even want him on the team anymore.
Then you end up DFAing him or trading him for a ham sandwich.
Yeah.
And hopefully, I guess, you know, bringing fought back into the fold.
And I say hopefully that, you know, he figures it out because he's extended long term.
going to go good it is not you don't believe in brandon fought no i don't believe in taking a pitcher
that you stretched out as a starter converting them to a horseshit reliever slash starter that you wanted to
still get four innings and 85 pitches out of regardless of them being in the bullpen uh and then you can't
finally bite the bullet convert him to an actual reliever where he's only given you one or two
innings and then you want to now stretch him back out you're just asking for brandon fought to also need
Tommy John's surgery. You're just also asking for Brandon Fought to completely lose his way.
And I mean, again, I am not the most brilliant baseball mind. I am no Eno Seris, Damon,
but I will say when it comes to fought, the plan felt simple this entire season. Just send him
down to Reno. He has an option left. You can get him down there. More importantly than just
stashing him away, he could have actually worked on things in Reno without caring about the
results and maybe just maybe come back here as a much better starter than he left, right?
But no, instead we got to play these games and now risk him getting injured and also just
kind of shattering his confidence for the year, which I still don't believe is the case.
I think I'm being a little hysterical there when I say that.
Brandon Fott is one of the most even-keeled human beings I've ever met.
So I feel like he's just going to be calm and normal regardless of what I've asked of him.
But I understand the hysteria.
I mean, look, the internal feeling.
All three of these things today have felt terrible.
From the burn situation, losing a guy that you thought you were going to get back in a month's time about, a month in a week it felt like.
I think like you had earmarked All-Star break July 10th, I think around that is that time.
So, you know, yeah, you would have expected him back pretty soon here.
Zach Gowan has another bad start where you have even less confidence in the guy.
And then Brandon Farkt gets rocked, but then also you're going to need him to.
We need a laugh.
That was a funny slip up.
You got to admit, all right?
Look, I'm not, I'm as childish as the next person.
It's been a long night.
You wouldn't be dead right now.
It's been a long night.
We needed this.
We needed something.
It's been a long night.
Braden fart is who he is when he's bad.
I mean, that's definitely the, the 12-year-old in me, as Jason says there.
I apologize to the Fought family.
They're very good people.
No, we love them.
That's why this sucks.
We feel this way about a lot of guys.
But the Fatt family as a whole and Brandon himself, like again, this is a guy that when
that little, you know, when that little magical thing happened for him back in 2023, what
we were hoping was to see, you know, the emergence in his career in the same way that, like,
Erod just completely turned things around, right?
Yeah.
I mean, well, and he had, he just had the,
such a big 20, 23 postseason that it was,
I'm sorry, I can.
No, it's fine.
It's fine.
The chat's getting, you know,
they are.
They got me.
It's,
it's one of the best,
I'm just going to see myself out for a second.
Yeah, just go ahead and take over for a good couple minutes.
I'll, I'll, I'll,
I mean, we, we, we do have another kind of issue to deal with
today and that again as we said this game was just a loss as far as the debacks were concerned it
felt like because not only did did they have this particular pitching matchup but could tell martay
was not in the lineup today and that caused a lot of discussion a lot of people did not like this
here is tori lovolo explaining why could tell martay was given the day off against the dodgers
Catelle is a situation where he battles us all year long.
And you guys know how much he means of this team.
I know how much he means of this team.
But it got to the point where, you know, with low back tightness and hamstring tightness,
when he gets to this level, there's a chance he could break and we're going to miss him
and we're going to miss him for weeks instead of a day.
So I will trade one day for two weeks.
I don't want to miss another player.
And I don't want to be stubborn enough to say,
you have to play through this when I know that it's a very risky proposition.
I have done this before and I've watched him limp back from first base in Colorado
when I've asked him to play when I know that he shouldn't be playing.
So through hard experiences I've learned and when he says or the medical team says we got to pull back a little bit for one day,
I'm going to do it. He's too important in this ball clip.
So it's just a one day thing. There's nothing that's going to linger.
When I spoke to him about it, I said,
said, you know, will you be ready late in the game? He said, absolutely. So you might see him
late in the game. But he's just at that point where he needs a little bit of rest. He needs just
a day to just regroup the troops a little bit. Ketel Marte's first at bat yesterday. He ran as
slow as you possibly could down the line on a ground out. That was an obvious out. And then there
was like a little misplay by Freddie Freeman who kind of got pulled off the bag on the throw.
But Kattel was a million miles away, so it didn't matter. There was some people that were upset.
with Catelle Marte not running that out.
And again, this is what Tori is talking about when he says that there were some issues in
yesterday's game, right?
But at the same time, due to Catell's history, due to that situation that happened last
year around the All-Star break, I think anytime Marte misses time in a big game like this,
people are upset about it.
And people are upset with Bartay in general kind of missing time.
I think that what Damon said before we were on.
air about this game just being an automatic L, that probably has a lot more to play into it,
but it also probably coincided with Catell having, you know, some soreness and in general
experiencing it in an area where he's had an injury before, and that was kind of a nagging
injury when it came to that hamstring that kept him out multiple, you know, for multiple
stints, right? He came back from a hamstring, then went back out due to the same hamstring
injury. So it's understandable that this team wants to definitely take precautions with
Marte, right? But it doesn't change the fact that today was like one of the biggest
games of the season, even though a regular season game on June 3rd is not and cannot be the
biggest game of your year. It just felt like it was a game where the Diamondbacks needed
Marte the most, right? However, the outcome is what it is. And,
when you lose seven to nothing, it's hard to feel like Marte being in the lineup was going to have
this huge impact, especially if he's not 100%.
Right?
So giving the dame off kind of made sense.
And it's the reason why, you know, that this was, as Damon said, an auto L.
Right.
There's just some games during the season that you almost have to sacrifice looking at the way things
are going to line up.
And this seemed to be that game for the Diamondbacks.
Yeah.
It felt like a scheduled loss.
It feels like Tuesday's game is even that much more important.
If you could have gotten that win.
And then you go into tomorrow, Derek, with a little bit of house money,
of feeling like, okay, well, we're not going to lose the series to one of the best teams in baseball.
We at least are going to split even with them and hold suit.
And now I think you're fighting for your life a little bit, having just gotten swept by the mariners,
albeit it was by the skin of their teeth.
and then now you show up for this game or this series and you go one in three,
that would be one in six after a really,
really good stretch against a couple of awful teams followed up by,
you know,
just dropping five games,
you know,
under 500 in a very quick succession right away,
which would be,
which would be tough.
Not overall,
but I'm saying in that six game stretch going five under.
What I will say is I'm glad that if they,
the diamondbacks are going to get away.
wake up call, kind of get smacked in the mouth and, and, you know, put in their place by a team
that right now is obviously better than them. I'm happy it's happening in June, right? It gives
them time to figure some things out and hopefully adapt and find a way to overcome Shohei Otani
and the Dodgers, right? Like, obviously they're not the only team that's struggling with that.
And it's similar to what happened when we face Paul Skeen. Sometimes the way, with the way this offense has
performed all season long when we face some of the best pitching that major league baseball has
to offer we're we're just not right now in the i guess uh comprised to step up and have a good game
against you know the elite starting pitchers in baseball until they do that you you can't even
come close to calling this team a contender that's fair too i was thinking about that today derrick
and you know not to cut you off just the idea that like in 23 i think i had like a kind of a
inherent confidence of like just get this team in the playoffs man yeah because i believed in
jack gallon and i believed in merrill kelly and i was like if they can get contributions from a third
pitcher who ended up being brandon fought and who pitched the best he's ever pitched in that
stretch that you could go really really far because of those two guys this pitching staff i don't
really feel like we have guys that are going to go and even errod who's pitching out of his mind
like an erod postseason game feels like a disaster waiting down
happen. And, you know, then you think about the way that the offense performs against the front
line starting pitchers as well, it's a disaster. I can't think of, I guess, didn't we beat Scoobel?
Didn't we, did we beat Scoobel this year? I know Corby got a home run against him. So maybe,
maybe that, that kind of. Yeah. Did we? Corbyn did hit a bomb against him. But I don't know if we
ended up winning that game or not. I thought we swept the tigers. Do we not sweep the tiger?
Yeah, I think we might have. I think Zach actually might have pitched that game.
as well. But yeah, it's it's the offense really doesn't feel like they they do that hot against
these like Otani's skeins type guys where it just it feels like everything that they're doing
is working and no one can get a bat on the baseball. You're not wrong. Well, let's take a quick
break and on the other side of this break we have a very important award to get out as well as
taking a look at the numbers from tonight's game numbers like there's any numbers on the
diamond backside. We're going to talk about it on the other side of this break. Don't you go anywhere
you're watching the PHNX Diamondback show.
Well, it is here, it is hot, the summer is here.
It's not even really summer yet.

Well, Damon, before we get to the numbers,
we have one man that we have to honor for his performance tonight.
One guy for the Arizona Diamondbacks that stepped up
and just delivered when no one else did.
Then that, of course, is nobody!
You thought we were going to give the Kingsnake to somebody on a night
where they lost, seven to nothing to the Dodgers and got two lousy goddamn hits.
Ha!
We shouldn't even have to make Damon make that graphic.
But it's funny that he did, and that's why I do a lot of the things I do.
It's purely to amuse myself.
That's how I live my life.
But we do have the numbers from tonight's game, which might as well just look exactly like that,
if we're being honest.
Diamondbacks lost this one by a score of seven to nothing.
They did have one extra base hit.
That was neat.
Dodgers, meanwhile, only had three extra base hits.
Surprising for such an ass kicking.
D-backs were 0 for three with runners in scoring position,
which felt like far more runners in scoring position than they had actually in this game.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers were four for 15.
Hard hit percentage, again, laughable.
Diamondbacks, a few balls that they hit.
They did get some hard hit balls at 35%.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers, 40-5.
40.5%. Again, hard hit percentage is balls in play, not necessarily balls that land for hits,
just as a reminder there.
Expected batting average, very much on point for a terrible game like this by the Diamondbacks.
162 expected batting average to the Dodgers nearly 350 batting average at 347.
And again, ABS challenges, 0 for 1 on both of these teams.
So there we go.
Landau, meanwhile, in the chat says, brings a little, little scintillating rumor here to us.
He says, someone is getting DFAed tomorrow per Gambo.
It sounds like Gambo is firing up the limousine and he's planning on taking somebody to the airport.
I would not be surprised at all if the DFA is Zach Allen.
I really, I really wouldn't.
I don't know what the answer would be.
I feel like that would be sudden, right?
I do feel like if someone was going to get DFA tomorrow,
they don't really have an option to step into the starting rotation immediately.
Someone said,
are we finally DFA in Gowan?
And he responded to them,
no,
as of two minutes ago.
All right.
So it doesn't seem as though,
but this is a weird little convoluted thread here, Derek.
Someone says,
so who's the second pitcher going to the minors?
Gambo says,
it won't be someone going to the miners.
Someone says,
so it's an injury.
Gambo says, no.
Torre Berosa.
Could be Jorge Barrosa.
It sounds like someone is getting DFAed.
Or Loisaga.
But it's not Zach Gallin.
I feel like Loisaga still has had better numbers than somebody that you necessarily DFA.
Are you DFAing a reliever with a 3.26 ERA or whatever he currently has?
I mean, again, Barrosa, we just covered that he is, what, two for 27 now since May 5th or something like that?
So there's a good chance it could be him.
He's out of options.
and yeah, I mean, maybe this means Jordan Lawler,
who is now scheduled to make a rehab start for AAA Reno,
is returning.
It just doesn't feel like any corresponding move is coming to go along with that DFA.
It's not-
I mean, well, it's two relief pitchers coming up.
So, yeah, that's why it definitely, like,
if it's Barrosa, then we're going to have an extra pitcher on the roster, right?
Right, right, right.
So-
And Barrosa's, you know, he's, listen, he can't hit at a,
major league level, but he's done some good things for this team this season at times. And I think
he deserves credit for the ability that he plays defensively, especially. Interesting. Yeah, Jason's
not bad, not wrong. Firing Jorge after a bad pitching game, that seems, that seems drastic. He
didn't even play tonight, right? So I don't know. He was the difference. Maybe not. Maybe, maybe,
he would have been the difference. I mean, we looked at the bullpen last night and Loisica,
even Loisaga and Fott are the two ones that stand out as far as pitchers that you might do something with.
However, it's not going to be fought because Fought, if anything, they're just going to send to the minors that still keeps them on the 40-man rotation, though, if they option them to the minors, right?
So it's more about, you know, who they need to get rid of off of the 26-man roster and maybe even the 40-man roster if they're adding a pitcher to the 40-man roster.
A lot of moving parts, a lot of interesting.
things to see. Again, as far as after a game like this, though, I think we want to see some changes
being made to this team before, you know, before not just stay stagnant. They literally got out
class tonight. And if they want to make any kind of case that not only are they a playoff team,
but a contender to win a championship, something has to change. And the news today only feels like
a setback overall when it comes to Corbyn Burns. That sucks quite a bit. We got some super chats.
Our guy cool bro always keeping us fed with the super chats.
Thank you so much.
He said at least I have the jersey tomorrow I'm getting.
That's good.
You're getting your Mexico, Team Mexico or Mexico dive a back to Jersey.
I saw some of those being given out today.
They are very clean like those a lot.
I mean a little less without Alec Thomas on this team though.
He also said,
are the fans that get scared off showing up against Dodgers the problems
so they do special days to incentivize DBAX fans to go and get memorabilia?
No.
What it actually is besides Dodger or
fan appreciation night as Damon will attest to, which he calls it that, and he's not wrong.
What it really comes down to, and I found this out sincerely, Damon, and you're not going
like this, but it really comes down to those nights being not giveaway nights, but nights where
they have to sell a special ticket package that is extra in order for you to get that jersey,
right?
So when you look at it from a marketing perspective and not my heart bleeds for this team,
I am a person who will die for this team in the streets.
Then you look at it from the perspective of,
we need to sell as many of these jersey packages as possible.
In that case, then it does kind of make sense,
doing it during a Dodger game when there are a lot of fans of different heritage
of that team, Japanese fans, Korean fans, Mexican fans.
Was that ever up for a question or debate, though?
No.
Like, I always knew that that was why they're doing.
do it because it makes them the most money.
That's the only thing that makes sense about it because you're making more money,
as I always talk about in the short term.
But I think the long-term adverse effects of encouraging your main rival to take over your
stadium is so debilitating for a franchise in a community and a fan base that it's beyond
any dollar amount that we could be talking about in the short term.
And therefore, I think it's despicable.
It's literally, there's nothing that makes me more mad.
I know showy Otani fires me up there, but there's nothing that makes me more mad than Dodger fan appreciation week every goddamn year.
I'm so tired of it.
When Damon was a young boy, his father took him into the city to see a marching band.
And when he did, he looked at Damon and said, son, when you grow up, would you be the savior of the broken, the beaten and the damned?
And Damon said, sign me up.
That's also, what's that my chemical romance lyrics, I believe?
But that's what Damon lives for.
Damon thrives for.
I would rather there be three Diamondbacks fans in this stadium and the rest of it empty.
And you losers don't get to come in.
And my team goes broke rather than ever accommodating any single opposing fan base.
Well, you're encouraging people to go be Dodgers fans.
If kids show up to the ballpark tonight, Derek, and they get their Japanese hair,
item and they see
Shohei Otani do what he just
did to the Diamondbacks tonight.
You're telling me a neutral
kid or a kid that might be on the
teetering edge, he's going to walk away
and say, you know what?
I think I'm a Dback for life
after that one. Or did the Diamondbacks
just facilitate
some little
shithead rat bastard kid being
a Dodger in our state
for the rest of time?
Now, you tell me.
loyal, David.
No, no, no, no.
You know, no, someone answered me that question in the D-BACs marketing department.
I want to talk to these Einstein's and sit down and figure out why, oh, it's actually a science
that we've built out.
Yeah, I got a science for you.
How about not having blue in the stadium?
It's ridiculous.
I felt, I kind of felt that about the dive.
Like, I know that the giveaway jerseys tonight were themed to look like the Tokyo, you know,
team from the WBC jerseys, but they were.
Jimmy going to be a fan of Eric?
They were still very blue.
They were very blue with red on them, but they were still very blue.
Also, Cool Bros. bring it up that there's some love letter to Puerto Rico at the Dorrance Dome here at the Arizona Science Center.
That's part of his other super chat.
So cool, bro, I did not know about that, but I guarantee you I will go check that out now that you've told me about that.
So thank you for giving me something to take my mind off of this horrendous loss.
But we're going to take a quick break.
and on the other side of this break,
we have one more funny thing to talk about
and then we've got to get out of here.
But all-star voting has begun today.
Ha! Ha! Ha!
Just like the king snake.
Who are you voting for?
Nobody right now, because none of you deserve it.
So let's talk on the other side of this break.
Don't you guys go anywhere?
You're watching the PH&X Diamondback show.
Well, shout out to pure...
Excuse me.
Our friends over at Pure Edibles, they are an amazing company.
I need a pure edible.
I need an entire...
I need an entire 10 of Pure Edibles to get over this.

They also offer a amazing collaboration with Mother Road Brewing Company bringing together

That is our watch party.
You're going to be happening at Philly's on Warner taking place at 4855-East Warner Road.
And then on Friday, June 12th at 6 p.m.
We will be out there for USA versus Paraguay at Philly, Scottsdale on 1826 North Scottsdale Road.
There will be drink specials.
We will be hanging out.
There will be so much fun to be had.
Visit go phtnx.com
slash events for more details on how to RSP.
And what a day for all-star voting to begin, Damon.
I'm just doing this because we're an hour three into the show right now, Derek.
Do we not have Circle K to talk about our friends?
Oh, I apologize.
You're absolutely right.
You're absolutely right because, of course, Circle K.
Circle K is the sponsor of this show.
It is their studio.
It is their Circle K strikeout meter.
and of course they are the one place that keeps us always hydrated always ready we can't put their one thing that they get tonight on the circle k strikeout oh yeah no no yeah no definitely not definitely not they deserve better than that the circle k strikeout meter deserve better and that's bow down to circle k i gasped up two day yeah
oh yeah the gas dropped super cheap and it's even cheaper when you got their easy pay option over there at circle k i actually don't even know what i did so i don't know if this this is probably not even like what we should be doing but i literally plug my inner circle
number in and I got 40 cents off.
Yeah.
Not an inner circle fuel day.
Don't know what happened.
Sometimes they just throw you a bone if you're an inner circle rewards member.
You might have bought something and you didn't even know that it gave you a bonus.
Like right now and this has been the case for a while.
If you get three 20 ounce Coca Cola products as a inner circle rewards member, you will
save 25 cents off per gallon the next time you go to the pump.
That might have been what Damon did or Damon might have gotten another amazing detail that
gave them that or deal or like you said, they might have just said, hey, you know what?
we love you guys. Here's 40 cents on your account. So join the inner circle and save all of these
wonderful ways. Of course, if you have not done so, it's easy to download and get rolled, then just
use your phone number to score all sorts of CircleK deals. And of course, you can do it for free
by downloading the CircleK app today. Terms and conditions apply at participating locations.
Visit CircleK.com for details. All right. Well, Damon, like I said, we're going to be having all sorts
of fun this week. We're going to be having those watch parties, but I don't know how much fun I'm going to
be having doing the all-star voting. You're right. Tomorrow's our takeover of Chase Field. We're
going to be in the All You Can Eat section. That one is sold out. Big thanks to all of you guys that
will be attending to that. Can't wait to see you guys. More importantly, Damon and I get to do a show
at noon. And then we just get to like hang out and drink beers and eat hot dogs. That sounds like
a pleasant evening. Maybe, maybe just maybe the Diamondbacks pull off the win and maybe we'll
get crazy and come back here and do ourselves a little emergency podcast for that. But if you all
feeling so inclined to vote for certain Diamondbacks players. You can do so right now.
Fans can vote over at DBAX.com and you're permitted to fill out and submit as many as five ballots per day,
selecting as many or as few players you choose to select. The period for the fan voting is what they call
phase one of All-Star voting, which will be taking place that All-Star weekend will be taking place in Philadelphia
at a ballpark that the Diamondbacks own.
Yeah, it's our ballpark.
Chasefield 2.0.
It's going to run from today, June 3rd,
through Thursday, June 25th, 9 a.m.
So basically the two top overall vote getters
will receive automatic berths into the All-Star lineups,
and that's already difficult for us to get our guys in.
So go vote for Catell, go vote for Corbyn,
specifically Corbyn.
Corbyn deserves it.
And even though we can't vote for pitchers,
You know, I'm sure people will still find a way to vote for show Aotani as a D.H.
Eduardo Rodriguez deserves to be in, but again, we can't vote for pitchers.
So go out there, vote for your favorite position players, get them into the All-Star game.
And again, maybe, maybe we'll see some of our guys represent this team.
E-Rod, though, like I said, E-Rod deserves it, for sure.
That's all I got.
Damon, we got anything else.
We already talked about Cool Bros. Super Chat.
But again, he asked about checking out that PR exhibit at the Science Center, which I'm absolutely going to do.
And then our guy, Bees, who we love. Bees, you're the best. Bees says it's on.
Yeah, I just thought it was a very kind comment, Derek.
He says it's on nights like these, a random Wednesday night after a blowout loss.
And I appreciate Damon Dogg and Derek the most.
We appreciate you the most, Bees.
You are our guy.
It's always a good night when Bees is here, even when you're upset.
As long as you're venting with us and we're all on the same page, we're all good to go.
But appreciate all of you guys for being here.
Big, big shout out to the D-BACs community for coming through tonight.
I know this one sucks.
So it's a nice place for us to all get together and complain about how bad
Zach Gallen and Brandon Fought have gotten because my God.
And how much we hate Shohei Otani.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
That criminal.
We got one Dodger comment here who says,
this is from Hey, Bro, Truth Hurts, which right away I know based on your screen name that I don't like you.
So when you come with Hey,
Bro, truth hurts.
I already know you're an unlikable person.
He says, you guys literally sound crazy in regards to Otani.
His command has been bad for the past few starts.
Your jealous hate of Otani is making y'all say the dumbest shit.
Probably.
I mean, I don't really have a way to refute that.
Am I jealous of Otani?
What was the comparison I made you?
Thanks, you're showing up to the PHNXD-Bax post-game show, brother.
We hope you, we hope to see you again on the next one.
I'll be here for probably ever.
Yeah, we're never going anywhere.
So this is where we're at.
At least Shohay's whole career.
I think I'm tied to this show as long as Shohay is playing Major League Baseball.
You're his number one op.
Someone has to hate on Shohay.
Yeah.
Because no one else does it.
Trust me.
The comparison I made to Damon was he's like the super popular kid at school that also like
you just there's no, they just can't find a single piece of dirt on him to drag him down or ruin him.
You know, that's what he seems to be.
Oh yeah, except for the gambling accusations and all that.
Well, and him trying to kill our players.
And trying to kill our players.
But whatever.
That's just us being crazy and making it up.
Well, and the real estate operation to, you know,
screw that one developer out of $200 million or whatever it was, that too.
Or deferring payments and ruining baseball.
Anyway, we thank you guys so much for being here.
As always, you can follow me on social at cap underscore K.
Man with a K.
Our guy, Damon Dog, is at Damon Dog with a DAWG at the end.
And we're all Damon's dogs.
Bark, bark.
Our shows at PHNX underscore D-Backs.
but all roads do lead to at PHNX underscore sports on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
Thank you guys so much for your time.
Appreciate you stopping by.
We will see you tomorrow for a 12 p.m. show where we hate on Otani some more
and preview their upcoming series with the Washington Nationals this weekend.
Until then, hope you guys have a wonderful rest of your evening.
Behave yourself, Bees, and remember kids.
Baseball is fun, but it's so much more fun when you aren't facing Otani
who's trying to actually murder your position.
players.
