Guys, I'm excited to have you here, and I'm excited to be joined by my co-host and friend,
Thunderstick, Jesse Friedman.
Jesse, the Diamondbacks, how are things in San Francisco?
Did you see that Dalton Varshow robbed home run last night?
This is the VAR show.
We're changing this from the D-BACs podcast to the VAR show podcast or the Varshow show or just the VAR show.
That's it, because this guy has been doing spectacular things for this team.
team this season and we have so much to talk about when it comes to that. But I don't know,
how would you consider it a great game, a one to nothing loss? Tank season?
I don't know. Yeah. It wasn't a great game. I mean, the results, the results turned out well
on the tank season front. But I will be honest to say, I kind of enjoyed watching the game.
Merrill Kelly really fought through his outing, right? Five scoreless innings, even though he
really did not have his best stuff.
And that catch from Dalton Bar Show, I mean, this is not the first time we've seen a
Diamondbacks outfielder rob a home run.
But I mean, he needed every, he needed every millimeter of his 510 frame in order to get to that
ball.
He timed it perfectly.
That was one of the best home run robberies I think you're ever going to see from a
diamond backs outfielder.
I couldn't agree more.
And it's a night a night after he played catcher, he goes out in the outfield and does
that it's incredible i want to say cheers to him i also want to say cheers to the phnx cardinals
podcast and cheers to october fest but jesse over here we do things a little differently uh that's the
size of the beer uh that we're drinking here and here's cheers to chirston right cheers to chirsten and i
assure you this is not course light so i'm not trying to stick anything in anybody's faces but
you know we're uh we're the dbacks podcast over here uh i i will say that it was one of those nights
that was very encouraging.
The Diamondbacks play their last road game of the season in about an hour.
Thank God.
The Diamondbacks are no longer playing any more road games.
Here's a staggering stat for you, Jesse.
Toy Lavallo has used 153 lineups this season, according to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
153 lineups.
And wait, how many games has this team played, Derek?
Well, I believe this is 159.
159 games or 100. Wait, no, they have three more left after this. So this would be game 158, right?
So yeah, I guess they're going, yeah, they're going on 158. You're the math guy. Figure it out.
Yeah, yeah, you're right. You're right. Yeah, I mean, so they have three games left after tonight. So they've played 158 so far. I mean, this is, this is crazy that the diamond backs have essentially, I mean, what that number means is essentially Tori Lavello has almost never used identical lineups on any two.
games the entire season, not even back-to-back games on any two games the entire season.
That is how this lineup has been managed.
And I don't know if, you know, we're necessarily blaming him for that.
Obviously, there's sort of a lot of moving parts here and all the injuries and everything.
But at least at first, at first when I, when I hear that, I don't exactly glow with praise.
It's not a great thing.
It's not a great thing.
I don't know if it's a horrible thing, but it sure doesn't feel like a great thing.
No, it doesn't.
about it specifically is the fact that you know that some of it is out of necessity and then a lot of it is out of Lovolo's managerial style, right?
That's that's one thing that at times you might not agree with.
A lot of people might not agree with is the inconsistency.
We were just talking today about how much players are creatures of habit and how much they like to, you know, bat in the same position in the lineup.
they like to sleep in the same socks.
They like to use the same, you know, bat.
And sometimes in some pitchers cases, the same hat all the time.
You know, there's a lot of things that change.
And it's hard for them to just maintain that consistency on this team,
especially when you don't know where you're going to play on the field on any given night
or where you're going to bat in the lineup on any given night.
I'm not saying that the players don't know before they're at the ballpark.
I'm just saying that fluctuation has to cause some,
lack of sense of stability for a lot of guys on this team.
Did you say baseball players like to sleep in the same socks every night?
Oh, yeah. All the time.
Is that like a base, okay, all right.
I've heard,
I've heard some ridiculous things about baseball players when it comes to
curses and habits and superstitions and all of that stuff, right?
Really, what it is about is is the confidence, I think.
Like, when you think that you're wearing your lucky belt or some stupid crap like that,
in your mind, you just believe that that thing gives you magical powers and now you think you can do more than you normally can.
It's really about just belief in yourself.
And, you know, the problem is, though, is that, you know, that kind of crosses over to consistency in other places.
They just, they want to know certain things and it's a peace of mind.
Dalton Varsho proved that a guy like him can play catcher one night and then go out there the following night.
and make an amazing play in the outfield as a center fielder, right?
So, or was he playing in center field last night?
You was playing left field last night.
Left field last night.
He was playing center field.
Yeah, that's right.
It goes on.
It goes on.
This is why there's 153 different lineups been used.
I think even when the players are healthy, he still,
Lovolo still tends to switch things around enough to not consistently have the same
lineups.
And, you know, it's, you, you can say one way or another, but for the most part,
historically baseball is a game of a bit more stability that helps guys just kind of have that
piece of mind and clarity when they're at the plate and even playing in the field.
I think there's definitely something to that.
I would probably caution from saying that like every single player at the major league level
is, you know, insistent on, oh, I have to, you know, I really care about where I am in the lineup.
I've also heard from a lot of guys who are like, man, I don't care.
You know, it's the same game.
it doesn't really matter to me, you know, where I am in the lineup.
And maybe less so in the field.
I mean, I think it's pretty unquestionable that it's probably a challenge to move positions
like every single day like Dalton Bar Show does.
That's probably less so something that guys are willing to do every day.
But, I mean, you want to talk about a guy who has showcased some versatility this season.
I mean, Dalton Bar Show, I can't really imagine anyone else being asked to do more than he's done.
And for the most part, he's, you know, he's really delivered in doing that.
Exactly. And it's opportunities like that that has really, you know, that have been created this season that, you know, not everybody is taking advantage of, but a couple of guys are. And I really am rooting for the guys that have taken advantage of it. I think guys like Varshot, Rojas, I've talked a lot about Noe Ramirez and some of the guys in the bullpen. I think that they have taken advantage of an opportunity that's been given to them and they have delivered. You know, they might not implement.
the game, you know, all the time consistently, but they are guys that have made a big impact
this season when this season hasn't really gone well for a lot of players on this team.
Joe Mantipli right now is in a 14-game scoreless streak over the last eight and a third,
you know, pitch. So that's another guy that at times this season didn't really look like
he had it figured out. And then all of a sudden, you know, really put things together. Some guys
have come along. But this is, this is the last road game for the Diamondbacks. And I found this
stat to be pretty interesting. Ketel Marte in 34 road games at Oracle Park against the San
Francisco Giants dating back to 2017 is hitting 319 with a 933 OPS. And it's just kind of crazy,
because no matter what stat it is I look at of Ketel Marte, it seems like he's hitting around 320.
Yeah, yeah, I was going to say, I'm not sure if I'm impressed by that.
or if that's actually just kind of who Cotel Marte is.
I mean, 320 with an OPS, a little over 900.
I mean, that's sort of where OE plays anywhere, you know.
I mean, yes, it's particularly impressive because obviously Oracle Park is not a very favorable play to play offensively.
Sure.
But yeah, I mean, Cotel Marte has been doing it for a few years now and dating back to 2017 even.
He's really been doing it apparently at that particular stadium.
here's another road stat for you Jesse.
I love road stats.
The boy genius from earlier.
The boy genius, Jesse Friedman.
Jake McCarthy in his last 10 games is hitting 300 with an 830 OPS.
And we've talked about this team not having a center fielder,
but as of late, Jake McCarthy has done a pretty good job for this team without anybody
even speaking his name often at taking on that role.
of center fielder. We've talked about the diamond backs and needing some depth, you know,
at center field moving into next season. And yeah, I mean, the more we talk about this, Derek,
the less I'm on board with the whole Starling Marte idea, it seems, it seems a little bit unnecessary.
I mean, you know, if a guy like Jake McCarthy can come in next season, and I don't think he's,
you know, he's not Starling Marte, right? I mean, obviously the Diamondbacks would be better if they
had a guy like that on their roster. But with Alec Thomas, you know, coming up,
hopefully soon. And Jake McCarthy already seeming like a pretty decent stopgap guy.
He's got great speed. It's fun to watch him run the bases. He seems to have a pretty
decent feel for playing center field. There are worse guys that Diamondbacks could throw out there
to manned center field for, you know, 40 or 50 games next year or whatever it winds up being.
Yeah, no, I agree. And the bigger thing is, is that cost saving effort, right? Marta is probably
going to at the end of the day cost too much for this team and what they want to spend on
a free agent that they're not really committed to long term.
If they were committed to him, they wouldn't have traded him in the first place.
Right.
Right. Right.
But a quick tank season update, Jesse.
Speaking of tank season, I know you've been good, Derek.
I got to, I got to admit.
It's, it's getting pretty good.
Things are heating up as the Baltimore Orioles right now are up against the Boston Red Sox.
And the Arizona Diamondbacks have put up their 150 third lineup of the year.
So we'll see how this ends up panning out at the end of the night.
But as of right now, for the worst records in baseball, the Arizona Diamondbacks do currently have a one game lead on the Baltimore Orioles for that number one pick in the 2022 draft.
You might see a guy drowning in this graphic and holding on to a baseball for dear life.
I see a zombie that's coming back for his revenge, right?
And that zombie that's coming back for revenge might be the Arizona Diamondbacks in a season or two.
So who knows?
But that's just what I see.
That's my vision in seeing that.
I want to say this, though, that whether you're a zombie or a living person this October,
you should probably be downloading the Draft King's Sportsbook app.
The Draft King's Sportsbook app, of course, is safe, it's reliable, and it's secure.
And you can, best of all, you can deposit your money and withdraw it whenever you want.
It's the official sports betting partner of the NFL and of the PHNX debacks podcast.
They have a week five offer for every football fan.
Once again, using our code of PHNX.
You can bet $1 on any NFL game and win $150 in free bets.
If either team scores a point, what?
The last zero-zero tie in the NFL was 1943.
So I don't think we're going to see.
This goes back to what happened with the Arizona Diamond,
or I'm sorry, the Arizona Cardinals versus the Minnesota Vikings if they score one point.
I assured you, I didn't tell you that I would give you your money back because I didn't want that kind of heat.
But I assured you it was a pretty safe bet to make and that you might want to hop on that.
So again, if you use our code P-HNX and you.
bet just $1 on any NFL game, you will win $150 in free bets. If either team scores a point,
that's going to happen. You're going to get your free bets. So go download your Draft King's

And again, Jesse, you know, I've learned some new things.
We were talking with our guys from the DNVR, from the Colorado Rockies podcast over there.
Yeah.
Big shout out to Drew.
Drew, of course, is our guy.
But, you know, I don't know of anybody that is more of my guy, Jesse.
You know, you know what I'm talking about.
I'm not sure I do.
You don't know who I'm talking about over there.
Envr that's more of my guide
than Drew. You're talking about Patrick Lyons.
I am talking about Patrick Lyons. I was
confused for a second because you went to Drew first
and I was like, I know. Why?
Because Drew is great. Drew is great.
But me and Patrick, I don't know.
There's something magical there.
Apparently people were telling him he look like me
in his final days dressed up the ballpark.
He doesn't like anything like you.
I found that flattering.
He was dressed in a very stylish button up shirt
with a matching hat and that of course immediately made people think of your boy over here but uh yeah we
had a great time chatting with them of course and you know uh we're tomorrow it's dropping tomorrow yeah
that is dropping tomorrow and you know he let he let me in on some of these betting options that you
can do and i i kind of like the idea of going in and and betting on who you think's going to hit
the next home run on the dref king sports book app and things like that if it was up to me i think
that a guy named Dalton Varsho might be due for a home run tonight.
I don't know.
That might be where I'm leaning towards.
And the reason why I say that is because, of course,
Varsho, not Vargas, has been just killing it for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
First of all, put some respect on the man's name.
It is not Vargas.
It is Varsho.
Again, played catcher and left field in back-to-back games and now is playing
center field tonight.
He's going to play right field.
Then he's going to play first base.
And I think he's going to pitch in the series finale against the Rockies at home.
I'm not sure.
Yeah.
It's just incredible what this guy has been doing, especially since July 17th.
Let's take a look at some of these numbers.
182 of bats slashing 291, 352, 549.
It feels like that, but it still does, it's kind of sneaky, right?
I mean, again, he doesn't, he doesn't necessarily.
get the praise and a claim that someone that has gone on a streak like this normally gets
because the team has been so bad, but a 901 OPS, 10 home runs, 29 RBI.
I think those home runs are more than, you know, some of those guys that we talked about
being the core of this team have had all season like Peralta and Walker and Ahmed.
So just some really great things coming out from Varsha.
What are your thoughts on what we've seen out of him and how he's kind of
I don't know, I would say grown throughout this season.
It's really like a tale of two seasons kind of a situation.
I mean, Dalton Varsho came out of the gate.
And at one point, I was honestly a little concerned.
You know, it seemed like, all right, this is a guy who at this point should be ready to take a step forward.
But unfortunately, it just wasn't really happening for him.
And I was a little concerned.
I was like, you know, maybe Dalton Varsho isn't the guy that we've hoped he would be.
But I mean, obviously that was probably a little bit short-sighted on my part.
I mean, he's still a young guy.
He's under, you know, like 300 plate appearances for his career.
We can't judge you guys that soon.
And Varsho has turned things around very quickly and really come into his own.
He started to look a lot more comfortable at the plate, just waiting for his pitch,
working counts, working at bats.
And we're starting to see it pay off now, Derek.
And I think maybe a reason why he doesn't get, you know, all of the praise is that his
overall season numbers don't jump off the page, right? I mean, his OPS is, you know, around 760,
770, you know, you mentioned the 10 home runs, which is, I think, about all of the home runs he has
the entire season. So the numbers don't jump off the page because he just started so poorly and
has so drastically turned things around since then. But what that means, I mean, is that moving forward,
we, we certainly hope he's a whole lot more like the guy he's been in the last couple months,
than what we saw in the beginning part of the season.
And I think there's a pretty good reason to believe that what we're seeing right now is for real.
I certainly hope so because, again, when we talk about the future and the core that this team needs to establish,
I think he's going to be a big part of it.
And I've wanted him to be.
I've seen things out of him again, kind of like what we've talked about,
some of the young players this season that haven't had necessarily success,
but still have shown promise.
It's hard to describe promise.
It's hard to tell somebody that's skeptical or thinks this team sucks,
you know, that you think release Friess still or still looks like a all-star,
you know, potentially when he can throw how he can,
considering that no one else in the Diamondbacks bullpen right now can, right?
Things like control and stuff are teachable.
That's something that you can, you know, figure out.
But to have the talent that some of these young players,
have and have shown at times is incredible.
I'm marked out over that Perdomos double the other night.
And it was just a double.
It was just a double in a game they were losing that they eventually didn't win.
So there definitely would be that question as to why I was so excited about it.
But it was just like this moment where you could see a different level of confidence and
belief in a guy in himself who also happened to do what some of the players that have
been major league players for years we're unable to do right in a in a clutch situation come up with
a big hit get on base get in the scoring position right away and give your team an opportunity to
win the ball game you know i think that's that opportunity that's that you know reaching for that
last rass ring again that lovolo's been looking for that he still doesn't get out of a lot of players
and hasn't gotten out of a lot of players this season i just think you know we we we still we still got a
handful of guys that really sifted through and really did become kind of diamonds in the rough.
He's smooth at shortstop, man.
I enjoyed watching and play defense yesterday.
I mean, he just looks like such a polished major league, you know, veteran type guy,
even though, I mean, you never know he's 21 years old.
Especially a night after watching Rojas play.
And this is no knock to Rojas because, again, we saw make a great play, but like you said,
it was the consistent play and it was his ability to make some of those throws and plays
that might have been more difficult for someone else made them look effortless.
That's something Nick Ahmed always did that we took for granted.
When Nick wasn't in the lineup, you just realized how Nick was just this catch-all over there
at shortstop and he made plays look so easy because he was so good at the position.
So, you know, we have a little thing around here on the PHNX podcast family.
that we call the King of the Week, the Draft King's King of the Week.
And we don't get to do that typically on this show too often because we don't do post-game coverage.
We're usually kind of more of a pre-game show.
But this week, we're giving the King of the Week to our man, Dalton Bar Show.
He is our Draft King Sportsbook, King of the Week.
And again, use that code, P-H-N-X, and you will get that offer of $150 in free bets for, you know, if anybody scores a point.
You're going to get that.
You're going to get that $150 in free bets.
trust me.
So anyway, the other thing that we had to talk about besides that was, you know, balls and
strikes, Jesse.
Mostly, mostly balls.
And when I say balls, I want to introduce our new sponsor this week.
That was good, Derek.
That was good.
It's Manscape, Jesse.
We're sponsored by Manscape now.
Do you know how much fun I'm going to have with this?
The fine folks at Monscaped have decided to become part of our PHNX family, and I couldn't
be more thrilled.
You shouldn't be either.
I'm talking about protecting your strike zone.
I'm talking about keeping all of the strikes in the strike zone.
And, you know, the folks over at Madscape have the perfect package for your package to get this done.
The below the waist grooming leaders have a fourth generation performance package.
Inside, you're going to find the lawnmower 4.0 trimmer, weed whed wacker, ear, and nose hair trimmer, liquid formulations, and two free gifts.
Now, I'll tell you, you need to keep not just, you know, not just the lawn.
You don't keep the lawn mode, Jesse.
You don't just keep the outfield nice and trimmed.
You also need to worry about the nose and the ear hair.
You don't because you are a young man, but let me tell you, as a 40-year-old man, Jesse,
I appreciate what they're trying to do when it comes to this, you know?
And again, speaking of the balls and the strike zone, don't forget to give your testy besties
the love they desire with Manscapes liquid formulations.
There's a crop preserver, a ball deodorant.
You put the deodorant under your armpits, but you put the
deodorant wherever you need to be deodorized.
You know what I'm talking about, Jesse?
So, and again, Manscape's even throwing in two free gifts to their performance package
4.0, the Manscape Boxers and the Shed Travel Bag, they're hooking you up everything
you need to, you know, make everybody that might end up seeing you naked happy.
So get 20% off plus free shipping with the code P HNX at Manscape.com now.
And yeah, keep that outfield grass trimmed if you know what I'm saying.
Jesse, I'm going to have too much fun with that.
That's just day one, buddy.
Did they give you all those jokes?
Oh, I know.
You didn't come up with all that stuff.
Oh, I'm coming up with this stuff on the fly, pal.
This is all me.
This is all me.
Don't even get, don't even get me started on when spooky season starts.
I'm a little concerned to how natural it is for you,
Eric. You should be, you know, you should be concerned with how natural it is for Perdomo to play the game of baseball.
All right. There we go. There we go. Heraldo Perdomo hitting 667 since being recalled from AAA. Jesse,
these young guys, they just, they, they rejuvenate my soul. They give me back the life that the current roster steals for me.
If, if that makes sense.
So he's batting, he's batting six 67. So, I mean, he's four for six.
Yeah, so what?
Shut up.
I thought you like stats.
Don't you like stats?
Why do you guys put it that way?
I like stats when they're used properly, Derek.
And that was a little, that was a little suspect.
I abused stats, Jesse.
I abuse them.
You do.
That's what I do.
We'll have to come up with a new nickname.
Derek's now the stat abuser.
I'm the stat abuser.
That's right.
I'm Mr. Parlay.
Don't forget about that from over on the graphing sports book.
Yeah, that's right.
The fashionista.
You know,
what I haven't been named though I haven't been named to MLB pipeline's prospect of the year team
that's something that has been reserved for one Alec Thomas and that is another fine accolade
for a guy that we can't stop talking about we can't stop talking about perdomo and we can't
stop talking about Thomas this is a Stan account for all of those but you know of course we're
also changing our name to the VAR show so any any thoughts a well-deserved honor something that
you figured was going to happen
Yeah, it's not, I mean, it's not real surprising, given the season that he's had.
I think it'll be interesting though, Varshot came into this season.
Most recently, he was ranked by MLB Pipeline as the 41st best prospect in baseball.
After what he's done, I mean, after what he's shown, going into next season,
I think it's very possible he could knock on the door of, you know, top 25, top 20 years.
He gets really close to making his major league debut.
So I'm really just excited to, you know, see some prospect rankings come next season because the Diamondbacks have a few guys who have probably risen quite a bit in that.
Yes. And don't forget, it's also Elijah Green season. It's tank season. And Baltimore is still up on the Boston Red So six, I don't know what to say. I don't know what to say about this. It's all very exciting to me. I think that, you know, yes, at times, I thought that they weren't going to actually do it.
So it was just kind of more and fun.
If all, after, if after all is said and done, they do end up with the first round draft pick,
I don't care what Mike Hazen says, despite how much I would trust that guy with my whole entire life.
I would like Mike Hazen make all the major decisions for me in my life.
That's how much I believe in Mike Hazen.
However, I don't agree with what he said, aside from the fact that it just adds that extra pressure
onto the entire situation.
It adds it on to the Diamondbacks and the pick that they make
and the scrutiny that comes with that forever.
They've already experienced that with Dansby Swanson.
And like you said, he didn't even turn out to be that good of a player.
The scrutiny to this day still is trading him away.
And he still isn't, he's not a bad player.
He's playing at a major league level and he's good at his position.
But his batting average is mediocreed, even bad.
And he's, you know, not, he hasn't turned into this.
big all-star that a first-round draft pick in other sports would.
You would almost say that he's kind of a,
he kind of ended up being a bit of a letdown, right?
So can I,
can I give you a quick hot take here, Derek?
Let's go.
All right,
all right,
here we go.
So those of you listen to the rattle might have,
might have heard me make this case before.
But go with me here for a second.
If Shelby Miller was even just the same pitcher that he had been in Atlanta,
you know,
number two, number three starter type in his stint with the diamond backs.
Would we be looking back at that trade and thinking it was bad?
I think we'd be looking back at that trade.
I mean, if Shelby Miller had been a, you know, a big part, a big piece of the
diamond back success, what they gave up has not panned out.
Ender and Ciarte was good for a year or two.
Now he's really struggled to find, you know, an everyday job.
And the other pieces in that deal, it's been sort of the same deal.
Danesby Swanson's a good player.
but I mean, I don't know, man, if Shelby Miller had been ready to start, you know, game two or game three in the NLDS in 2017 when the Diamondbacks found their way there and had been a big part of that season, I think we look at that deal a whole lot differently.
I think if Shelby Miller does his part, the Diamondbacks actually probably did really well in that trade, unlike every, you know, all of the negativity that you hear, which is, which is fair.
I mean, Shelby Miller was an absolute disaster.
But I don't think even the regime at the time could have known that something like that was about to happen.
Well said.
Well said.
I agree with you there.
And again, it's always easy to hold the organization accountable for things like that and really blame them for things going wrong.
But, you know, like you said, if it panned out with just that one player, not even being great, but being a pretty good pitcher, at the end of the day, it would have looked like they won the deal.
Really, it doesn't even look like they lost too bad, but it's mostly because they just parted ways with Miller.
And then it looks like they gave up their number one draft pick at the end of they did it.
At the end of the day for absolutely nothing, you know.
Dave Stewart made a lot of other egregious mistakes.
Don't even don't speak that man's name in my presence.
I don't like to even hear.
I don't like to talk about that regime at all.
Diamondbacks have used 28 rookies this year, which is the most used used.
by a team since 1998 when the Marlins used 29.
And that was the season after they won the World Series,
where they completely tore the team apart, right?
That's the year that the Marlins did the thing,
and everybody hated them for doing that.
But you know what?
They have two more World Series than a lot of teams have.
I'll say that much about the Marlins.
So you can criticize them for the way they do things.
Apparently, it's the way Rob Bantfred says things are supposed to be
done. I don't know. I don't know what to say. So I will say this. I want to thank everybody for listening.
I want to encourage everybody to go to phnx.com or go phnx.com and subscribe. Become one of our members of our
family. Either sign up for an annual membership that'll get you a free t-shirt over at the phnx locker.com
Or go for the month-to-month option and you'll get your first month for 50 cents. Not to mention that if once you become a
member, there's deals of the week every week.
Soon enough, you will have an entire closet full of our merchandise, which was my plan.
I'm very envious if any of you, if any of you make it there.
That was, that was the reason why I took this job was merch.
If you guys don't notice, I wear a lot of T-shirts.
I take tank season very seriously, by the way, as you can see.
Still haven't gotten a shirt.
I didn't get, I didn't get drafting swag.
I didn't get to try on a shirt.
I've received nothing.
But if you become a member, you can.
You can get a free t-shirt again.
And this week's deal is if you buy any college shirt for the Tucson Tech folks down south
or for your Arizona State Sun Devils, you will get any other shirts from our PHNX Locker.com for half off.
So that's a great deal.
And if anybody wants to buy me a shirt, I wouldn't be opposed to that.
if you love what we're doing over here and want to buy me a shirt,
I wouldn't be opposed to that.
And if you want to help support us on this journey,
just become a member of the family today.
Not only do you get that,
all the free shirt,
you get the free offers or the deals,
but you also get to join our members only,
Discord.
I was told I was pronouncing that wrong.
So this is going to be.
I think you're like, I think you're on the other extreme now, Derek.
I don't care.
Discord.
It's discord, Jesse.
Okay.
Say it like a normal person, Derek.
I can't.
Apparently, I cannot.
But you can get away from all the social media BS and talk sports with us.
You can go in there and debate with PD about the coyotes.
He will win every argument.
I'm just going to warn you of that now.
But I did want to also once again remind you of our draft kings code, which is PHNX.
And if I want to give you guys a pick of the week before we go,
because I have been picking against the Arizona.
and Diamondbacks all season long.
And I could be wrong.
It might be Jesse influencing me.
It might just be this gigantic beer that I've been drinking during this episode.
But, Jesse, I'm taking the Diamondbacks this weekend against the Colorado Rockies.
No.
I was taking the Diamondbacks.
We can't agree on some.
We can agree.
We can agree on it.
We can pick it.
It's the last season of the year.
Even if we're doing it just to, even if we're doing it.
doing it just to humor them. We're going to take the Arizona Diamondbacks this week for the
draft team's pick of the week. I like it. I like it. You guys will hear our show with with DNVR Rockies,
Patrick and Drew over there. We're going to drop that show tomorrow. So I like the idea of,
you know, throwing them a little shade. We, we like our D-backs this weekend against the Denver
Rocky. Yeah. Colorado Rockies finishing things up here. There's no way Trevor Story is going to come
here and end his Colorado Rockies career
the same way he began it, right?
No, no, no. Right? There's no way.
No way. No way.
That man loves the hit in Chase Field.
If you want a secondary
pick of the week because you don't believe in that
one, I would probably put it on
Trevor's story hitting a home run at some point
during one of these games. That's probably fair. I'm just saying.
I'm just saying.
And also, if you're checking

You can just email all one star reviews to me through my DMs on Twitter.
We'll just have a chat about it. Maybe I could talk your way through it.
And maybe I could get you to understand the position that we're taking on whatever we might disagree with.
But if you're a tank season fan, which let's not forget, it's still tank season.
And we need them to tank one more time.
We need one more big loss to get that.
get a little separation from those Baltimore Orioles who might win tonight against the Red Sox.
And really, let's make this thing happen.
Let's make the Elijah Green dream happen.
62 and the eighth, Derek.
Yeah, excited, Jesse.
This might happen.
See, why would it, how could a team losing this much be this exciting?
I can't imagine it without tank season.
So again, let's give it up for tank season.
And I want to thank you guys for listening on behalf of Jesse and myself.
We appreciate you guys checking out the show and subscribing, doing all this interaction.
We absolutely love doing this with you guys.
And remember, kids, baseball is fun, but it really is more fun when you bet on it.
