Starting point is 00:00:00 first live show ever congratulations by the way so much and it was and it was 100 electric like i spoke to andrew schultz uh about it and he was just like yo dude you're mad man everybody else has to go you know sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do damn dude you're dangerous bro was like talking to another comedian he was like yo like go out there i was like yeah all right dude you smashed my head up against the wall they go ew and just spit in your face yeah there's nothing wrong with that that's fine take a couple spits three two one welcome back to the picky boys podcast we got a great friendly face here who we got another danny another danny that was a big uh contention point when we first started like hanging out in the in the scene with you
Starting point is 00:00:45 guys oh yeah two dannys i felt bad for him you know because i was like everyone's gonna be like wait wait wait wait he's a big guy but that's not he's not as brown he does and he doesn't have a beard yeah it was it was honestly highly unfortunate you're like we're gonna give you another gig and but we're gonna put you in santa gata studio and they're like danny's in the santa gata studios video and it's fucking poor yeah i know and and and the first few videos i wasn't even in them but like i was off camera and people would say like hey danny like do this and then everybody be like yo danny love yours back and and then i fucking came into the first video and they were like who the fuck is this guy yeah but you want to know something though you hold your
Starting point is 00:01:32 own in all your videos oh thank you i think you got you guys all do thank you you guys all do but it's uh it's really happy to be here i have no idea where i am though oh yeah yeah in the in the in like in the landscape of new york even my uber driver when i was coming over here he's like where the fuck are you going i was like i don't know bro just drop me there i'm already paid so let's do it every time i try to get a package here it just auto generates to a different location like because with i don't it's very small so saying it would be uh yeah yeah but um essentially it's it all auto generates the flushing so my packages it's always a 50 50 if they come sometimes they just don't yeah and it's also weird uh queens how they like layer like uh streets yeah it'd be like yo
Starting point is 00:02:16 it's 49th and 21st like 8th street i'm just like what avenue street and all that shit it's like too much and if you make the wrong turn now we're on like grass street and gray avenue it's like yeah no it's too much and there's always a 49th ave a 49th street a 49th course yes road drive which one am i why are we using numbers then it's a lot you ever go into a small town you're like this is just adorable like look at this doll shop it it can exist here oh yeah no for sure like when i brought uh my fiancee to my hometown for the first time she was like this is the cutest fucking thing i've ever seen because like my school is on school street oh that's so cute yeah yeah i'm serious you serious yeah i'm serious when i went to high school i only had about like
Starting point is 00:03:04 like 150 160 people in my grade wow so that's like really small and then i went to a uh elementary school where i had 13 people in my grade oh wow that's just a class yeah that was that was really weird wow how does that dynamic work with friends are you all friends or is there still um we're not all friends uh but it literally is like oh my god if i don't make any friends in this class i'm not gonna have friends yeah i don't like like legit have no friends you have 12 people like i don't like 1 in 12 people i don't like 12 and 12 people yeah yeah i'm gonna you're stuck yeah yeah well we kind of had to like make do like sometimes like uh we would hang out with people like a grade older than us sometimes maybe like a grade younger than us because it's like
Starting point is 00:03:55 you know you call one friend to hang out and they're not available you're kind of fucked yeah but it was it was a kind of a weird experience for me because like um it was everyone was like all white and like a mixed you know so like it was like oh he's italian but then i would show up and they're like he looks like arabian like what's going on here a little a little darker than a little darker than than most even a tanned italian yeah so like we got called like a mexican a lot and like stuff like that but after that where wore off like it was kind of cool after that but i feel like like picking like picking your friends from like different places is kind of a relatively new thing like it used to be like where you grew up that's just your friend pool
Starting point is 00:04:39 like yeah oh yeah that's where you would date and that that's where you would date people from that's where your friends would be from because that's just like your town and there was the the it wasn't the internet and you can like say like oh yeah that guy from over there is my friend now you can't set your radius to 50 miles oh yeah yeah see you want to know what's weird is i've never had a dating app on my phone before um that's not true i have but it was for a very short period but I don't think I've ever had a dating app do they make you pay for dating apps?
Starting point is 00:05:13 I think it's pay to I actually never had one either but I think it's pay to win I heard it's pay to win it's pay to win wow they got fucking microtransactions 100% like what was you know
Starting point is 00:05:27 oh you're on dating apps? I was doesn't matter you have like a certain amount of swipes i would know so you'd only get like 100 every 24 hours if you want to swipe more which for guys 100 swipes you're getting like a couple matches yeah that's nothing that's nothing that's nothing you need 10 000 swipes so like girls could use a dating app for free but a guy would probably need to pay to be successful on it but can't isn't there something with super super likes and shit yeah but like if you you have to pay for super likes too but i don't
Starting point is 00:05:57 think anyone uses those i don't know you can also pay to boost yourself so more people will see you they get an algorithm it's it's all it's all a big sales funnel you can boost yourself yeah they'll put you at the front page of everyone like every girl in the area so fucking weird it feels very transactionary does it does it like if i'm swiping and does it tell you that this person's super boosted no because i feel like that's kind of lame no it doesn't see like i feel like that that would make me less horny yeah if i knew a guy no nothing that would make me less horny but it would make me a little more like uh anxious swiping because it's like hey like i didn't go on tinder today and how much it probably costs a month do we know
Starting point is 00:06:42 is it a monthly for tinder gold it's like 25 a month are you fucking kidding me 25 a month that's more than netflix well i guess you're getting laid you're getting yeah but think about probably you need the netflix to have like something to do the netflix and chill you need to 25 buck just to have a chance in this tinder game you're probably going it's money out here man inflation and it's like a it's like a part-time job too you got to spend so much your time swiping and like messaging and chatting yeah with like potentially dozens of people oh my god it's a lot it's the fucking worst it's like it's like that you know that like first intro conversation like hey what's up like what do you do that it's like that a hundred times
Starting point is 00:07:25 Yeah, exactly. Because, you know, eventually somebody just goes, ah, fuck it. It's like cold calling. All right, so this show is called The Picky Boys, right? So if I was a girl in the club or at a bar, what would be your Picky Boy pickup line? Oh, man, my Picky Boy pickup line? Probably, hey, girl, you shit with that ass? Ooh.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Probably that. That would make me laugh. If I was a girl, I would laugh. That was so quick. You went to that so fast. Yeah, that's my go-to. All right, that's not bad, I guess. What about yours?
Starting point is 00:07:53 I don't know. They come to me, man. I don't need them. Oh, wow. I don't have to pick up anything. JT has a good one, though. Oh, you don't want to hear that one. JT has a good one.
Starting point is 00:08:02 The, hey, girl, is your dad in jail? Because if I was your dad, I'd be in jail. That one works every time. Every time. I probably get so many, what? Yeah, it's like, what? Excuse me? I heard it.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I don't even get it. You know, it was a was a great pickup line for me that had a really good success rate was it's not necessarily a pickup line, but I would be like, you know, at a bar. And once I get to the bar, I would purposefully go up like next to wherever this person was at the bar and like be like, oh, what are you drinking? And like, Antonio, what are you drinking? Like, what do you guys want to drink? And then it would just be like, what are you drinking? Yeah. and i would just point at them and ask them what they were drinking because then it's just like
Starting point is 00:08:53 oh no like it's all good like it's fine i'm like oh you sure be like all right no problem and then like you go on from there but it would always be like sure like i'll get that then it's like an easy introduction no that works great it's like a welcome it's a welcoming introduction but also we see the thing the thing is that you're paying because because if she say if she responds you buy a drink yeah of course so it's in in terms of the tinder thing it's like you're paying for the transaction well everything's transactions everything's transactions we we had a friend at a party once super drunk go up to a girl and just whisper something like you're you're so hot i'd fuck your dad did it work i don't think so no she got she got very scared i do think that men now
Starting point is 00:09:35 have a very hard time talking to uh women it when it comes to uh like sealing the deal i think it's a little tough hmm i think people just need to talk in general i think you gotta talk more yeah i think people do need to talk more i mean it's crazy because like everyone and their mother has a podcast now yeah but if you take them outside of like the realm of a podcast like it's it's almost like a protective bubbles you know what i mean so like when i'm on camera i feel more comfortable than i do like when i'm in walmart oh for sure i'm so uncomfortable in like a target oh my gosh i don't first of all i can't breathe i start shaking and shit it's horrible it's so it's like if if there's anybody if i'm in my right eye the aisle i need to be in if anybody's in the
Starting point is 00:10:23 aisle i'll wait yeah i'll wait you just you gotta vlog everything you do then it's just like it's too much too much i have i feel that one i have a hard time like at like pharmacies too like waiting online to like get my medicines like you know i'm like like we're all just like then i start thinking like we're all like what's his problem we're all in the problem yeah i'm like what's your fucking ailment i'm like what's going on i'm like i hope somebody has it worse than me because that's just like how it is it's uh i'm so like i'm such like an observationalist like when it just comes to life because i'm uh i'm highly sensitive to things like uh people especially like people's energy i sound like a 13 year old girl but like i'm very sensitive to people's
Starting point is 00:11:07 energies like i feel like i could read people's energies really well so like when we all first met you guys all had really good energy so i was like oh that's like this is a good group so i'm happy that like it kind of like came full circle and like you guys are like doing stuff with joe now oh thank you man i appreciate that and joe's like that too joe's cool with shit like that he was just like yo we're gonna go do this podcast and i was like all right let's go do it yeah that same that same vein i woke up to just say me and danny are coming we're like what yeah the first time you guys came over i just don't like i don't understand people that like big dick people in in this industry and like in this business and i don't think it makes a lot of sense it's like
Starting point is 00:11:46 if somebody like now it's like can i do every show ever no but like if someone's like has the balls enough to like ask me to like come on their show like if i have 35 40 minutes i'm gonna do it yeah yeah like what's the worst that happens you know it's on zoom it'd be different they're like hey, like, what's up? Like, if this was the first time and you were like, hey, do you want to come to my basement? Yeah, do you want to come in the basement?
Starting point is 00:12:10 I would just be like, you know, I'm going to rethink it or I have to bring people with me, you know, so I don't die. Right, right. You know, they could die, but I don't want to die. Do you want to come in a basement
Starting point is 00:12:18 with three men? Yeah, that's a little much. Pretty trusting, for sure. But I think that takes balls on your part to even ask. Oh, yeah. I mean, you had a lot of fucking nerve, Antonio.
Starting point is 00:12:31 So much fucking nerve. How dare I? Oh, yeah, dude. We get rejected all the time. It's just how it is. It's just part of it. I think that's the same thing that even goes with women, too, though. It's like, you know, for heterosexual males, right?
Starting point is 00:12:42 When you get on a train or a plane or whatever, you know, they say no. They say no. Yeah. What's the worst that can happen? They're not going to beat the shit out of you. Yeah. If they can beat the shit out of me, probably deserve it. Yeah, right?
Starting point is 00:12:58 And if they do beat the shit out of you, you probably said something you probably shouldn't. Yeah. You know? so like i tell a lot of my friends um and like a lot of people that like uh will dm me though they'll be like hey like you know i see you're in a relationship this you know yada yada like how did you do this how you do that i'm like dude just just be confident like and just say hello what's the worst thing that happens they say no they go ew and just spit in your face yeah there's nothing wrong with that that's fine take a couple spits i would you want
Starting point is 00:13:27 know what's funny is i was uh coming out of a shoe store and uh you know me yeah yeah i was coming out of flight club and i saw this this girl wearing figs you know what figs are they're like uh the fruit uniform no no that that that is true but if she was wearing a fruit i would be like i have to talk yeah what's happening but uh it's um scrubs for like nurses and physical therapists and all that shit so i was like uh she had this top that i was like oh like my fiance might like this top i want to like ask and so i was like hey how are you and she like didn't fucking pay any attention to me ghosted it ghosted me i was like oh i was like are those figs um and then she like kind of stopped and like i was like oh like yeah so i was like oh i was like
Starting point is 00:14:20 oh like uh do you know what the name of that top is i want to see it like for my fiance and like her guard like completely went down yeah and she was like oh like i'm sorry she was like you know how it is it's new york i was like well i don't because i'm a dude and i'm also like not trying to like have sex with you right now i'm just i just want to know what type that is so i can get it for my you know my female companion trying to have a conversation in these streets yeah i think that's the hard thing though too though is uh guys have kind of ruined it for themselves in terms of like how weird we could be on the internet sure that'll scare it like hey yeah also after i don't know after five attempts of that happening like trying to talk somebody they just like you're
Starting point is 00:14:59 invisible that could start i get it it's kind of compounding yeah and i think also too like social media has like a lot of effect on it like uh in terms of you know everyone on instagram all we post like really is like cool stuff you know like even with me it's uh i think i think the reason a lot of people identify with me is because i post real shit like if i have a fucking shitty day like i'll let people know i'm having a shitty fucking day you know and a part of me is like if i can't show that part of myself to my like audience and the people that care about me i don't know it just doesn't feel authentic to me that's fair and it definitely resonates you could tell and also speaking of energies we were at your first show first live show ever congratulations by the way
Starting point is 00:15:46 Thank you so much. And it was 100% electric. Thank you so much. It really was. We were sitting at the table, and we were talking, and we were like, do we really think this is his first show, or did he, like, what happened? Yeah, we did have that conversation.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Because it was incredible. It was really good. Thank you so much. First of all, thank you guys all for coming. I tried to come out into the showroom and, like, say hello to, like, people I know, you know, but the manager wouldn't let me come out. Oh, dude, the manager was hounding us.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Yeah. They got to run shit, I get it, but they were. Yeah, they were a little crazy, but uh they would not let me go out there so i was like i have i have security like it's the worst thing like you know i was like it's fine like i just want to like say hello to my fucking people yeah yeah but they wouldn't let me out there but no um the craziest thing about it was and i will say the thing about me is that if i'm in i'm 100 in right if i'm halfway in it's it's not going to get done it's not going to enter it's not going to be the way i wanted to do so
Starting point is 00:16:44 when i announced the shows i didn't write anything for like a week so i was like i just want to like chill clear my mind of some stuff that like i had to get rid of you know like adult shit like let's get this done so i could only focus on this and then there was a month where i was just constantly writing like writing writing writing writing writing and then i'm looking at myself in the mirror having a conversation with myself every day and then some days you're doing like jokes right and you're like oh this is gonna fucking crush and then and then you have moments where you're like no one's gonna fucking laugh at this but you know so it's you're going through like this mental dude i did like a netflix special my first show ever i did an
Starting point is 00:17:28 hour yeah it was wait can you you are you saying that you announced the show like with no material yeah that's crazy i know you're just like i'm just gonna yeah i'll have the material by the show's date i'll figure it out he's in the green room just writing pretty much last minute no yeah no that happened too i was i was back there like i was adding shit on the way there like you know shit i was talking about but i had no material when i signed up for the show so the thing for me is 100 podcasting helped me like especially with like the crowd work and stuff like that and and being able to have conversations with people because this is what i do for a living so it's like that's easy that part but like being able to like construct a joke i was like this is kind
Starting point is 00:18:12 of hard this is kind of difficult what are you talking about it's the easiest thing anybody could do it yeah and and for me there were so many like rewrites where i almost lost my fucking mind doing this but i told myself honestly i said listen i'm 33 thank god i have like uh you know uh the audience and people fuck with me enough to like come and spend their hard-earned money to like come and see me i said all i want to do is prove to myself that i could do this because i didn't want to be 70 80 years old and look back and watch some comic on tv and be like i could i could have done that yeah i could have done that but my anxiety and my fear didn't let me do it it's just there's there's some points in life like that's why like i don't heart like harp on age as much
Starting point is 00:19:04 as i used to like i used to be when i was younger you would see all your friends they go to college they start doing this this one's got a degree this one moved there this one's getting married this one's doing this i just stopped kind of comparing myself to people and was like there's something i want to do and i'm gonna do it and i'm gonna fucking full send this shit but the thing that was the most amazing part of it was reactions like that being like this was his first show yeah genuinely so i was like you know because people can go like if you i don't care how big of a fan base you have if your fucking bit sucks it sucks bro true you know and it is it a little bit easier because i have my own audience yeah 100 i like i'd be i'd be silly to not think that but you
Starting point is 00:19:50 could also go there and just be like yo none of this was funny yeah we could have we could have left yeah you know what you know just like i love danny but like he might have to like stick the podcast needed a little more practice that's it yeah the first five minutes like because we love you we would have given you a couple fake laughs but after five minutes it's like all right this this thing sucks yeah because that could be a long fucking hour yeah and every like comedian that i've i spoke to like um like i spoke to andrew schultz uh about it and he was just like yo dude you're a fucking madman for doing like an hour yeah off the rip off the rip yeah but you know i i think um i i can only wish that like i hope one day you guys get to do that too like if
Starting point is 00:20:31 you guys have like any aspirations like do stand up just fucking do it because my i look at it like this if i bomb it's kind of funny you know what i mean just to go out in a room full of people and it's gonna happen to me someday like i'm gonna go up and no one's gonna fucking laugh and i'm going to rethink my entire life yeah it's like every comedian bombs by the process it's part of the process that's just like what life is life is bombing you know constantly constantly like life is just full of bombs but like sometimes you're like god damn it was a good fucking set you know what i mean like i really try to look at life now as like we all have opportunities out there for us to actually want to do things and accomplish stuff we just have to just fucking do
Starting point is 00:21:18 it i agree a hundred percent i also think like there's this give a hundred percent is a very underrated uh concept i think because no matter what happens like failing at something i this is what i trained myself to think i don't think like what i do will fail that's number one like i just i can't think like that or else i'll stop but if it did as long as i truly believe you put in a hundred i put in a hundred percent it's like at least i could say like i tried it didn't work out but like there was no room for like oh i could have done this i could have done that like at least you tried 100 and if it doesn't work out at some point you could forgive yourself in a sense of there's nothing i could have done more yeah which is like relieving just to think about yeah
Starting point is 00:21:58 because i because i don't think there's there's failure in trying 100 i think if somebody tries to do something they're they're not failing you know what i mean it's like uh you know we think of life so much of like like sports it's like you know you go like there has to be a winner and a loser right it's like you fail to win the super bowl you know but like in life it's not like that you know because look look at this just in your guys story right if you would have never reached out to joe you probably would have never ended up working uh working for him working with him not at all definitely not you know what i mean or at least like yeah but in the same vein if he wasn't like you know i could have caught him in a day that he got into a car crash or something
Starting point is 00:22:40 and then like that's a so there's still a little bit of luck involved in that sense but the point is you know once you get the opportunity hopefully you gotta be ready hopefully you crush it at least 50% like there's enough there for it to be like alright we'll see how it goes see what I'm saying though
Starting point is 00:22:56 it's just about taking shots yeah I feel like people shoot themselves in the foot too like before it even starts like when we did our little our eating competition against Crazy Legs I was like yeah I think I'll do pretty good but I don't think I'm going to beat you.
Starting point is 00:23:11 And he was like, do you think Derek Jeter ever goes onto the field and says, I'm not going to win this game, but I'm going to try? No, you go out there, and you say, I'm going to fucking win. Honestly, dude, he's not wrong. He's not wrong. No, he's not wrong. He's not wrong. He's got to go out there and say, hey, I'm going to win.
Starting point is 00:23:29 And you can still lose, but you're already going to lose if you go into it with like, oh, I'm going to lose. Yeah, and what's the worst thing that happens? And also, think about it. Choke on a watermelon. Choke on a watermelon and die. And live in a major league eating infamy. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:23:47 That's true. And also, you almost fucking beat him. But you almost fucking beat him. So the mindset's important. I was in the room. I was closest to it. I think he did win, honestly. And they were talking about the circuit after.
Starting point is 00:24:00 I was like, dude, you've opened a new door for yourself, brother. You're ready to rock and roll now. You've got something cooking here. And think about just, like, what a weird, especially you, like, what a weird path to get to a point all the way there where now, like, to be on the competitive eating circuit, right? What a weird, weird path. That's a strange life. I could have never imagined. We went to Nathan's 4th of July after party, and he got a little drunk.
Starting point is 00:24:30 And while he was saying goodbye to me, he was pretty shit-faced at this point. He was like, you're the future of this sport. And I was like, what the fuck is happening? I feel like you wouldn't just say that to anybody. I know. And I was like, he's like, you got to find your discipline, which is which food you eat. And you got to join the circuit. Do it, bro.
Starting point is 00:24:50 And I was like, this is, how did I get here? Aren't you going to do the strawberry shortcake or whatever it is? No, well, I was too late to sign up for it. All right, so we have a whole year to train. Let's get going. The winner ate 17 pounds of strawberry shortcake, which is just unfathomable. The face he made.
Starting point is 00:25:10 What would be your discipline? 17 pounds of anything. I don't know what my discipline would be. I can't do anything on the bone. I'm not doing any ribs. I'm not doing any wings or cobs. Yeah, it's too much. Too much work.
Starting point is 00:25:22 What about marshmallows? Actually, no. The record for that is probably abysmally high. I know it's probably just as many pounds as a strawberry shortcake, but I am a fucking slut for banana pudding, bro. All right. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:36 All right. So banana pudding could really. Have you ever had a magnolia? No, but I've heard it's just amazing. You got to do that. Yeah. You got to do that. I've gone against my die bag diet many nights with fucking magnolia fucking pudding.
Starting point is 00:25:52 But yeah. But again, though, I just wanted to say thank you guys for coming to the show. It really meant a lot. 100%. We had a great time. It was great. And I had a question. We went to the first show, and you had two shows.
Starting point is 00:26:02 Yeah. So was there a big difference? Like, were people more drunk for the second show? 100% people were drunker in the second show. But I kind of ramped up the material to, like, four drunk people. So, like, it's weird. Because, like, in the first one, it was like, all right, like, this is an amazing moment. Like, we're having fun.
Starting point is 00:26:20 Like, the first set was, like, kind of like my Seinfeld set. You know what I mean? it was a little cleaner but like it was more like uh cohesive the second show was like we're gonna throw all this material out here but i know motherfuckers are gonna be screaming and like talking shit and like gotcha they uh they wanted daddy dante at the end so like i was like all right like you guys want that i'll do it for you guys paid money to come out here dude there's people that came from europe and somebody came from australia wow that's so far you know what i mean i was just like dude like further yeah further i was like i almost want to like refund
Starting point is 00:26:54 your ticket you know not your plane ticket but it was it was uh definitely um it's so weird because i was more second more nervous for the second show than i was the first show really yeah that is interesting so you would think after like crushing the first show you'd be like oh i got this yeah but if it's like i can't live up to that or i have to recreate that that's what it was that's what it was it was like oh my god i think i i just had one you know like in old school when frank the tank gets like uh he's uh blacks out at the debate and like crushes it yeah yeah you guys haven't seen old school have you seen it oh yeah so there's there's a scene in a will ferrell plays frank the tank and they're doing a debate club and he's like super anxious or whatever
Starting point is 00:27:37 but he like blacks out and kills it like kills the debate like and he's like oh thank you he's like what happened then he's like what happened i felt like that's what happened to me at the seven o'clock show like all of this like my entire life like my inspirations my uh admirations my doubts my beliefs like they all came and fucking you know they just all came and fucked each other at the same time you know what i mean all up here yeah so i was like oh my god and then it's like yeah like it was a standing ovation i was like yeah and then i went i was like oh my god i have to do that again i was like yo i don't i don't know if i could do it yeah so i literally had a moment where uh you guys familiar with goldberg the wrestler huge huge huge huge bald guy he was
Starting point is 00:28:24 in the longest yard yeah so he used to do this thing before matches where he would headbutt a door okay yeah so for me i was in the green room and it was getting ready to you know i could hear like they're getting like rowdy out there they're like yeah let's fucking go motherfucker yeah so i was just like all right damn dude i'm getting fucking nervous like this crowd i feel like is gonna be a little more vicious so i just fucking was like talking to another comedian he was like yo like go out there i was like yeah all right dude yeah dorsh and just fucking smashed my head up against the wall and i tell you i don't know if it was like a slight concussion or whatever but all of the the anxiety and fear kind of left my body like from my head down to my feet so i
Starting point is 00:29:09 think it was definitely something like physical that happened he was onto something but emotionally it kind of left me and i said you know what i'm just gonna go out there and do it again and i was i was lucky to have like those two shows so now it's like for me i'll take the best of that 60 minutes and like i'll just go do 10 minutes somewhere now that's cool that makes sense you know yeah i was gonna ask that like what you're so is that like what you're trying to do now is you're gonna take those 10 minutes and like keep on perfecting your stand-up yeah so what i'm gonna do is for sure like it at little clubs and stuff and then what i'm gonna do actually is i'm gonna go on tour like there's plenty of cities that want to see me and the reception to
Starting point is 00:29:50 the first show was so good it's like you know i want to capitalize on that and go out there and hit the road and that's kind of a dream of mine to be like a traveling fucking comedian i think it would be a lot of fun yeah that sounds awesome i feel like i feel like one thing you like almost would want to do is like find a room of people that just has absolutely no idea oh that's the goal that's good but the thing is is i'm trying to find a place to do that but i want to film film the set yeah and like we're like absolutely like sucks like i'll do my shit but like if it sucks it sucks i was gonna ask did you film the show or i did i did film the show the cinematographer is getting ready to get it to me so like oh nice i'm like editing it you know what i mean like
Starting point is 00:30:32 it's weird like uh trying to figure out which jokes like were better at the first show and the second show or whatever but um yeah and then we're gonna release it on a low priority podcast patreon because sick i would release it that's good that's a great idea i would release it for free but people pay tickets to come and see yeah you know so i i don't feel right giving it out for free i know it's like something australian main paid like a thousand dollars yeah so you know like in my mind like i remember like somebody was like well like you know i wasn't able to like afford it but i was like instead of paying like you know because what was it 25 ticket then two drink minimum you know that's a lot for thursday strong drink strong drinks yes sure yeah yeah yeah that's uh i told
Starting point is 00:31:16 them i said listen this is a good crowd i told them i said this is a good crowd right they'll spend some money but let's get them a little fucked up so they so they they they did make some strong drinks that night heavy hands so i was like you know um you know it's it came to be something where like you know i just i just want to have fun bro that's all i want to do in my life is have fun i've been through so much shit i've made so many mistakes in life like you know it's i've had i've been lucky to have this journey of mine and be able to have this realization that you know in life you're going to do things right and you're going to do things wrong so if only you could pick yourself up and kind of fix the things that you're doing wrong
Starting point is 00:32:02 that's the that's all that you could really do in life you can't fix everything in a day dude i used to try and fix everything in 24 hours and that shit would make me want to blow my fucking head off because imagine like you have 15 problems in life right and you're like i have to fix all of them today right now you're just setting us up setting yourself up for failure yeah and you're just like dude it's like and then i still have this problem everybody's got problems and it could always be worse it could always be worse someday's fixing half a problem i'm like yeah yeah it's like yeah but i feel like you know like for you guys uh i want to ask you guys a couple questions like uh you're 25 right you're 25 as well and you're 25 so
Starting point is 00:32:45 when i was 25 i was so much dumber than you guys you know what i mean that's the question how dumb are you no no no it's gonna be the follow-up question um do you guys feel pressure now that you have to live up to like a certain standard because like you guys are like working with joe um i feel like at first there was definitely a we're just a bunch of like guppies getting tossed into a ring here yeah that's tough because people are like oh immediately it's like but like the reception was surprised like we we all sat down like before we even started doing stuff with joe i sat we all sat down we were like listen don't even read the cut like this could get bad
Starting point is 00:33:37 yeah you know we'll figure that out the same shit to me though they did the same shit to me figure that out but the reception was at least probably leaning a little more positive i love it so that was that was nice or at least 50 50 that was fine but like it always comes that's good but that's good that's good training for you guys though yeah yeah you know what i mean like is you guys you guys have so like you guys have you guys are so young and it and it's crazy because i'm still young for the earth you know what i mean like so much it's 33 but like eight years is a big fucking deal dude you can go get two degrees in eight years you gotta be a doctor you stop everything you could stop everything and be a doctor by the time you're my age we'll never do
Starting point is 00:34:15 it no none of us will ever never do it no but no like i think it's really admirable that you guys are like willing to go full send at 25 because i i wasn't i i i was afraid of like a failure i've always been afraid of failure yeah i for me i don't know i i think there was there's definitely there's definitely like pressure there but at the end of the day like my mindset was just like hey I'm just gonna go in give it all we got and
Starting point is 00:34:45 that's what we have that's what we are you know that's who we are it's the truth so how do you guys all know each other we went to the same middle school all three of us went to the same high school
Starting point is 00:35:01 so you guys have known each other since like, I don't know, third, fourth grade? Have you guys always been friends, though? I mean, pretty much. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:35:12 Pretty much. Not as close as now, but like... It was a semi-turbulent friendship. Yeah, there was a bully-victim stage. Who bullied who? You bullied me. You're being nice.
Starting point is 00:35:21 I can tell. I can tell. But also, like, there's a lot... Yes, yes. There's a lot into it. There's a lot into it. Antonio's like,
Starting point is 00:35:28 it's a loaded story. It's a loaded story. Were you a douche as a little kid? Oh, 100%. No, that's 100% true. I was kind of a douche. But like, he liked it a lot.
Starting point is 00:35:37 It was weird. There was definitely a Stockholm Syndrome. Yeah. Very misery-esque. You know what I mean? Yeah, no. But no, I mean, I just like to think. He planned to kill me.
Starting point is 00:35:45 I just like to think I saw the good in Antonio. Or he was going to kill you. You plan to kill him for real? Oh, I put it on paper, which is the first. But if you're going to plan a murder, don't write it down. Yeah, don't. That's step number one. The only thing that's worse is like you could write a check for like the gun that you bought
Starting point is 00:36:01 to kill him. Yeah. That'd be the worst. Put it on your credit card. Yeah, yeah. But, yeah, I mean, I planned to have a little sleepover and just like, ah! Wow. Was it going to be painful or no?
Starting point is 00:36:10 No, no, of course not. No. What do you mean, what? At least give me that. I wasn't a sick man. I was just like, I don't know. Just put him out of his mood. I was just like, hey, you know, I got a problem, and this problem needs to go away.
Starting point is 00:36:22 Also because he knew, like, in my sleep was the only way it could get done. Okay, but you also loved coming over here. Did you think that you would inherit this house and kill them or something? He slept by my house nine, like, I keep saying nine. Six days a week. Six days a week. Six days out of the week. Nine days a week.
Starting point is 00:36:39 Nine days a week. I did like to sleep over here. Like I said, I mean, you know, he had all the games that I couldn't play, and he had all, like, his parents would always make, like, cupcakes and shit, and I was like, fuck yeah. You're like, I'll take a little heat to get these cupcakes. Yeah. I'll kill him.
Starting point is 00:36:55 And also Antonio switched up, and it was just me and him at the sleepover. Oh, yeah, yeah. You were one of those guys, huh? I was a child, but yeah. Such a fucking Italian fucking douche thing. No, because I know that feeling. I know that feeling. Like, it's, you know, it's just me and you.
Starting point is 00:37:13 We're best friends. If you get anybody else in here, I'm going to fucking just make fun of you. Right, right, right. It was really one-sided. There's no way that someone didn't get more annoying hanging out with more people. It was just me. Have you guys? Yeah, right?
Starting point is 00:37:25 What the fuck is going on? Yeah. The little Danny got more annoying When he was hanging out with the other people That's why the bullying happened Have you guys ever physically fought? Not really One time they held my arms down
Starting point is 00:37:40 And allowed him to just punch me in the face multiple times I don't remember this at all On a park bench Damn you blacked out dude Blackout and rage Like 7th grade, 6th grade So this is a fucking lie They thought that I would hurt him
Starting point is 00:37:55 That would have been the sweetest moment of my life You have a violent streak in you. Oh, yeah, he does. Oh, he's fought many of our friends. He's fought everybody. He's fought just never me now. You have a very violent streak in you. I saw a video of you on Instagram putting a hole in the wall the other day.
Starting point is 00:38:07 Yeah, you know, maybe I do. Maybe I need to go to, like, a boxing gym or something. Yeah, or a therapist. Or a therapist, yeah. You know, you could do both. Yeah, maybe both. You could do both. So you've fought plenty of your friends before?
Starting point is 00:38:20 Yeah, I mean, we've... I'm not sure if there's one friend he hasn't. I don't think we've. Maybe you two. JT haven't fought because I know JT would beat the shit out of me. Danny hasn't tried anything on me or JT in a while. When we were children. I haven't tried anything on anybody
Starting point is 00:38:32 in a while. When's the last time you got in a fight? Probably at least five years ago. Did you win? No. I'm not actually fighting these people. I'm just kind of sucker punching them and saying, fuck you. You've also definitely won against Chaz.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Oh, you kicked Chaz's ass? Again, it was the same situation i just kind of sucker punched him and then was like you're a loser yeah he's yeah he's he's the worst loser the worst the worst kind of physical because like he'll get really drunk everyone's like please can we not do this and then he'll like sneakily i want a hug sock the guy and then everybody else has to go you know sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do man dude you're fucking dangerous bro he takes advantage of like no one's gonna do anything so i know i could get away with just rocking somebody right now my hands are registered weapons yeah right at this point
Starting point is 00:39:22 Your mouth from eating food. Yeah. Registered weapon. Registered weapon. Yeah, yeah. Nothing sexual. Nothing sexual. I mean, who knows?
Starting point is 00:39:30 Maybe. Yeah. The mouth is a vicious sexual machine. Danny has... Danny has... Did you say machine? Sexual machine. Sexual machine.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Sexual machine. So what are your guys' goals? Oh, God. And like with this and everything? Yeah, just life. Just life. I like to ask younger people because it's like I selfishly like to compare like myself to like, you know, because I wasn't really like goal oriented at 25. I didn't really have any goals.
Starting point is 00:40:02 It's pretty much just to do this in terms of just sustaining all of our lives. Like just being able to. The major goal is making this sustainable. Yeah. Just like because doing it by yourself, like you could probably get to an income where one person would be all right. But getting three, four or five, like that's pretty much. Yeah, it's tough. that's what you gotta get to for the tape like you know it's weird it's like uh now that i do
Starting point is 00:40:25 it on my own it's like you know my brother's on the show it's like you know when you like start like taking care of other people it becomes like a like a not a burden but like it weighs like heavy on your soul it's an awful burden yeah it's an awful burden it weighs heavy on your soul so it's like you know it becomes something where it's like i've always told people i don't want to be the richest guy i just want to be able to like go to dinner with my family and not have to worry about the check yeah like that's that's the level of financial comfort that i need like my rent's paid and like i could order uber eats if i want to and not have to be like oh man it's like all this these eight charges on this uber eats yeah you know what i mean so it it just gets to
Starting point is 00:41:07 a point where like you just kind of want to be comfortable yeah like comfort being able to buy comfort sucks but it's an amazing feeling yeah you know and it's like you know don't live beyond your means it's the only other advice that i'll give you guys i don't want this to be a fucking advice show but it's but you know it's like don't live beyond your means like save some money invest and laugh a little more and laugh a little more life's too life's too fucking sad on its own to like not not find reason to have a good time laughing everything i agree though and that's i think it's a good message i think it's also a good spot to end it oh yeah tell them where to tell them where to find you tell them what's going on we'll get out of here uh yes at daniel
