Starting point is 00:00:00 I have gone to, do you know, um, what's it called? Kings Park or whatever? What's that? Place out, the abandoned mental hospital on Long Island. Why on earth would you do that? And like, you know, middle of the night. It's definitely, dude, I mean, you see abandoned mental hospital shit all around the place. And like, dust, and like, it's, it's, this thing has been abandoned for decades and decades.
Starting point is 00:00:21 And, uh, you know, I, I like peered down the elevator shaft, just, you know, no elevator, just... There was like a man in there, a man who I think lived there. Three, two, one. Welcome back to the Picky Boys podcast. How's everybody doing? Feeling energetic. Feeling energetic today? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:40 Yeah? Very energetic. Nice. I mean, JT just woke up. It's hard getting JT up sometimes. Yeah, true. It's hard. It's only 3 p.m.
Starting point is 00:00:48 You still, it's only 8 p.m. I set an alarm for noon, which is when I usually set my alarm for. Right. And I don't know. I went to bed with my phone at like 80% battery, and it ran out by noon, I guess. Well, I think you read your phone upside down. I think it had to be 8%. No, this is what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Dude, this past week, I got to get my shit replaced by Apple. I don't know. This past week, my phone's like, oh, you have 50%? That's going to last you an hour. How old's your phone? Because Apple's notorious for, we're going to make things that slowly die. but no quickly died
Starting point is 00:01:22 this past like week this past month battery's gone to no no I meant like every aspect of it oh yeah and then that all goes together
Starting point is 00:01:31 with my battery's at 80% oh actually I can't wake up there's a word for that intentional degradation or intentionally degrading no no
Starting point is 00:01:39 I forget what it's called intentional depreciation no intentional disintegration this is messing me up I can't think of it because he's saying random things
Starting point is 00:01:47 intentional what it has to be close oh it's it's programmed obsolescence or something. Okay, well that was complete opposite
Starting point is 00:01:56 of the starting word you guys gave me. It's complete opposite of that. It's like this, yeah. Yeah. But it's, they're designed
Starting point is 00:02:03 to be your place. Well, Apple, because as soon as they murdered Steve Jobs, they decided to, how do we sell things because we got rid of them? Well, Steve Jobs
Starting point is 00:02:11 murdered himself because instead of chemotherapy, he decided to get on vegan kale juices. No, fruititarian diet. Fruititarian diet. He only ate fruit. First of all, that'll kill you by itself.
Starting point is 00:02:22 The doctor's like, please don't do this. Please stop eating these strawberries. He's like, I made the iPhone. I can do anything. I made the iPhone. I'm smarter than you, doc. Yeah. So yeah, he killed himself in a way.
Starting point is 00:02:31 In a way. You know, fruit. And he always had his dogs out notoriously. He didn't like shoes? No, he would put his fucking stinky feet up on the desk. That's what Steve Wozniak said. Oh, Woz. Steve Jobs seems to me like someone who didn't clip his toenails either.
Starting point is 00:02:48 Well, he's someone who abandoned his daughter, too. I think those two are the same. What does that mean? He had a daughter and just didn't have a very good relationship. And then, you know. Don't we all. Don't we all abandon our daughters? It's in the movie Jobs with Michael Fassbender.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Great movie. Oh, good movie. Good. It's good. It's not great. It's good. I was going to combine good and great, and then I was just going to say great again. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:03:11 You're right. You're right. It's good. It's not great. But it's good. Dude, you know what? Do you remember the pair of keys we found outside the house? Or was that me and you?
Starting point is 00:03:19 Yeah. You know the pairs of keys with the weird tassels and Dreamcatcher on it, whatever it was? Yeah, it looked like Elvis' keys. Yeah, it looked like, yeah. So we put it on our neighbor's stoop, kind of, on our neighbor's front lawn. And then the keys, next day, transferred to our front stoop. And then the keys the next day, right underneath our front door. Someone tried them on your door.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Someone tried to get into our house with a random set of keys that they thought, they presumed that we left on the stoop. Really? Yeah. Well, that's what I'm putting together. Review the tapes. Or maybe they thought, hey, like someone dropped their keys outside their stoop. This is too obvious.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Let me try to put them by the door. That could be it. Like, oh, this guy left his keys right around the stoop here. Let me put them by his door. So let me go out of my NPC bubble, enter theirs, take these keys, and put them closer to the door? Yeah, potentially. Because you can't see the keys from the sidewalk
Starting point is 00:04:22 if you're just walking by. You can't see. If the keys are by the door, you can't see that. If the keys are walking down the sidewalk, then you're like, oh, this person's house is asking me around. That's what I'm saying, and that's a really good Samaritan because I was also thinking about the person that is just walking down the street,
Starting point is 00:04:38 not planning to rob a house sees a pair of keys and goes I'm going to rob this house now like unprepared unprovoked that's what I was thinking it's a little intense I can't just find a pair of keys and be prepared to rob a house
Starting point is 00:04:54 I'm not prepared I need a few days a few days to rob a house for sure you scout it out get a scouting report see what time they're coming in how many people are living there and if you want to properly rob a house
Starting point is 00:05:07 It should really be a month and get their schedules down. And then that one day they happen to leave their keys on the stoop. Now I'm ready. But I think you have to put the key in first and test it. True. You have to make sure you have the right key. If anything, you know, fucking pop a window. But my point is, what if someone just opened the door and we were just filming?
Starting point is 00:05:26 Or just in the living room, just drinking. They're like, excuse me. You know? That would be weird. That would be... And on top of that, they're mentally prepared to rob a house. If they're going through all those steps, they're mentally prepared to rob a house. We're not mentally prepared to defend them.
Starting point is 00:05:41 If I saw a pair of keys by a car, that maybe I'd think, hey, maybe I'd steal this car. Because that's like an easier, you know, take it to the shop shop, bang, bang, boom. It's definitely harder to steal a car than rob a house. No. What? Danny, you made a sandwich and entered a home. Yeah, that's true. You made a sandwich in someone else's house.
Starting point is 00:06:02 Are we okay to talk about that? what's the statute of limitations on breaking and entering? I think we did already, right? Yeah, we did. Did we? I'm just wondering what the statute of limitations is.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Oh, breaking and entering? On a B&E? We hypothetically did that. Yeah, we didn't, yeah. But no, if I saw keys next to a house and keys next to a car, I'd much rather steal the car.
Starting point is 00:06:25 You just take it, you get in, and you go. If you have the mental fortitude to steal a car, why not just take the chance, like steal the house, You can't steal the house.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Squatter's right. Some people steal houses out there. You're stealing from the house. Okay. The car, you just take it to the chop shop and then fucking Mikey cuts it up. Chop shop Mike. Is that actually what you do? Chop shop Charlie. Because if you actually steal a car, you have to
Starting point is 00:06:51 replace the plates. But there's also the VIN number. You have to scratch off the VIN number, which is a crime in itself. You have to scratch off the registration. Basically, any car you steal, you set you you steal it to sell it you don't steal it to use it yeah that'd be a little tough also around here it's just that is unbelievably my car like like if some guy's just using the you need a paint job right oh you need everything also there's you wouldn't have a license or
Starting point is 00:07:14 registration for the car it just it does a whole there's a whole you just take it to mikey at the chop shop yeah and he'll give you i don't know six grand or something that's not bad yeah that's good pop or you know you do the easy thing that's not a lot for the risk for the risk well you do an easy thing. You open up the car. You check the glove compartments. You get your $20. That's the job for the month. Think about stealing a car once a month.
Starting point is 00:07:38 I have to steal a car once a month and get away with it to not even make $100,000 salary? Tax-free. We're asking for a lot. That's part of the grind. It's the hustle. Some of these cars are worth $20,000 easily. If you catch a good car,
Starting point is 00:07:54 maybe you can get it for $12,000. You can do that. Chop Shop Mike might give you, you know, $13,000, $14,000. Yeah, or you ship it to Mexico. You know, maybe you get... Oh, that's a high shipping cost. Now I'm traceable. Mike still does it all, but I think he'd give you, like, $10,000, $12,000, $15,000
Starting point is 00:08:12 if you're actually going to plan on using the car. Okay, okay, okay. Now we're starting to... Yeah, wait, can I... What if I just steal, like, 10 cars and then give them all to him? Now can he create, like, a supercar out of each piece and then I can just register that one. It'll take the body from this one
Starting point is 00:08:30 and the chassis, if that's something that's in cars. The bumper and the carburetor and the radiator and the slit and the flux capacitor. Chassis, I love that word, chassis. But my point is more, can you just, like if I just went to a scrapyard and somehow had the manly ability to build a car, can I just go and get it registered?
Starting point is 00:08:52 It's like, no, sir, I built this from the tire up. Can you just register my car? One of the pieces would have the, what do you call it? The VIN number? I think it's the chassis. All right. Well, give me that chassis, and I'll scratch that bitch. Now you've committed a crime.
Starting point is 00:09:06 Why did I commit a crime? I don't know. You can't scratch a VIN number. All right. Well, it's not my fault that Chop Shop Mike gave me a chassis number. It's like a registration number on a gun. You can't file it off. All right.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Well, give me Cassie's number. I'll toss it on the car. And, you know, my point is- Who's Cassie? The Cassie. The chassis. Oh, the chassis. The chassis.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Didn't hear that right. My point is... The H is silent. So you're saying no matter what, my Frankenstein car is only registered from what chassis I get? Is that what you're saying? I don't know how this works, man.
Starting point is 00:09:33 I don't know how it works. I'm going to go build a new chassis. But the point is I'd rather steal a car than break into a home. I think I'd rather break into a home. Because also, when you're stealing a car, and these are if the keys are right there. When you're stealing a car,
Starting point is 00:09:45 especially if the keys are there, very low chance you'll run into somebody while stealing the car. When you enter a house, you're going in blind. You have no idea if there's anybody home. That's poor prep. No, but I'm saying you just see it, the keys in the ground, what are you going to do? Oh, I agree with that.
Starting point is 00:10:00 You steal the car. Obviously, that's what I'm saying. If there was an attempt on our house, it's a little, that person's crazy, I think. Honestly. Dude, I had my car. There's some crazies walking down this street. Yeah, some crazies. I had my car, like, broken into.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Dude, every time I parked my old car delivering pizzas, every time I parked it, if I didn't lock it, glove compartment opened. Yeah, dude, my glove compartment was open. all my glove commercial was on my seat my sunglasses thing was open everything was open
Starting point is 00:10:25 and it was yeah it's like what'd you find pal the dust yeah there's nothing in there do you have my sunglasses my gas cap was open
Starting point is 00:10:32 once though I'm like siphoning my gas what are we in an apocalypse like I went to deliver a pizza for four minutes have you seen gas prices it was when gas prices were okay okay
Starting point is 00:10:42 this I understand now now I do take half at least take half I mean I'm dying out here too leave me some yeah I have incredible luck with that
Starting point is 00:10:49 I've left my car open countless times I've left my car open and running for the entirety of the Wonder Woman movie yeah but you look like obviously it was an accident I didn't do it on purpose
Starting point is 00:11:01 it's not a key car so it's a key of the century so you can exit the car and forget to turn it off and if you take the key away with you it doesn't but the problem with that is that they'd have to drive it they can't turn it off
Starting point is 00:11:18 like my Camaro oh and i've that's what i'm saying i was great luck with this i also my for some reason the the trunk button on my key fob is super sensitive my trunk opens all the time and i've literally been like had my car parked in brooklyn and the the thing is just the trunk has just been open for like six hours nothing gone i've come home and i've taken a video of me pretending to be a robber it's like oh this car is open i wonder what doof left it and just we're just in front of the house But the thing about Danny's car is it's so packed with stuff and so unbelievably blatantly open
Starting point is 00:11:52 that I would think that it is a setup car. I think that's what's saving him. What I was about to say with leaving it on is, like, if I saw a car that's open and off and open and on, I'd be like, oh, this guy's about to be back in two minutes. He might catch me. Or there's someone in there. I wouldn't think it's two hours.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Yeah, I'm not going to risk, like, peeking through to lock eyes with this man who I'm about to rob his car. That's so funny, because I was outside of a Dunkin' Donuts the other day, and I saw a guy walk in, and he had his child in the back, and he left her there because he was running in quick, and I was like, I can take this car and steal this baby. I mean, you can't. I can take this car and steal this baby and drive it off the Verrazano Bridge. You can do all that, but the point is, isn't it supposed to not, yeah, it's my second family's
Starting point is 00:12:38 child. It's my second family's child. Crime of passion. I'm glad, you know, this is what goes through Danny's head when he sees kids and cars. Oh, my God. Honestly, like, the things that go through my head, like, it's just, like, the I'm thinking about it because it's everything I can't do. Like, whenever I'm in church, I always think about, like, I'm not in church very often. Yeah, every time I'm in church.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Whenever I'm in church, you know, a funeral or Easter or something, I go, I think, what would happen if I just stood up and just yelled, like, he's a pedophile! you know I mean you probably get some looks yeah I don't know I think about you know more like
Starting point is 00:13:17 oh this old person with this cane I could knock this out of their hand you know just like whoosh so I'm bad for thinking about
Starting point is 00:13:25 stealing a child and you're bad but you're assaulting somebody no no you also were gonna murder that child you were gonna
Starting point is 00:13:32 steal a car and murder a child you can drive off a bridge and live my grandpa did it so you're gonna so your plan you might live
Starting point is 00:13:38 your plan was to steal the car wasn't this a baby They're a car seat. They're extra protected. So she's going to be able to... What about the water? The water, Danny.
Starting point is 00:13:45 You can't swim. I'll save her, of course. Why would you save her? You just drove it off the road. Well, I'll say I was kayaking in the river. Where's the kayak? And I saw a car come out of the sky. And I saved the baby inside.
Starting point is 00:14:01 And then I'd be a hero. And the father would... Ironically, the father would come and thank me. And then I'd shake his hand. And I'd just whisper and say, Hi, it's the joke of the car on the bridge. What game? It's just something to do.
Starting point is 00:14:17 I'm so bored. I'm so bored. Sometimes I'm bored. I don't know. Describe how you're going to break the three ribs of an old man and steal his cane. Oh, very easily. Hey, pops. Bang!
Starting point is 00:14:33 I take the cane. Well, I mean, but that's what you think about, you sick sycophant. Did you hear what you just said? The scenario you said? And also, you're Superman. You could survive the crash. Superman Dan out here. My grandpa drove his car off a bridge and survived.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Verrazano. I don't... Not the Verrazano Bridge. This was like a tiny bridge. But this was before seatbelts. He survived. Seatbelts? My mom has a newspaper clipping.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Probably helped in that situation. My mom has a newspaper clipping of the story. Okay. So wait, why did your grandpa drive off? He tried to get away from you? I don't know. I wasn't born yet. The thought of Danny coming in the crystal ball.
Starting point is 00:15:12 I mean, the story was that it was icy, but who knows? He could have been doing a Willie Loman situation. I was going to say, but he caught Grandma in the sheets. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, sometimes you drive off a bridge. Yeah. Sometimes the only option is to drive off a bridge. You know how in movies and TV shows they say, oh, they cut the brakes,
Starting point is 00:15:32 and then, oh, my God, we're going 60, the brakes are cut. How does that work? Because wouldn't you, if someone cut my brakes, I feel like I would notice, I'd be like, as soon as I pulled out of the driveway, I'd be like, wait, I can't stop. And then just hit another car at five miles per hour. Dude, I was on a party bus two days ago. The guy was going 90 miles an hour. I was like, dude, this guy's going fast.
Starting point is 00:15:51 That's a recipe for disaster. I was like, this guy was going, I was sitting down, and I was the only one, like, everyone was laughing and partying, and I was the only one like, these trees are going by really fast, you know? And I was like, woof, woof, woof. I don't particularly understand the laws of a party bus. bus because like if if i have if i have a like like if you're in my back seat you can't drink right uh but if you're on a party bus everything goes out the window and now everybody can drink
Starting point is 00:16:20 and stand up and dance around well i think one it's because you gotta call your car a party car i think that's the number one rule if you call it a party car i think you get away with it a little bit oh don't worry officer this is a party yeah it's a party car he goes oh okay no problem and Also, I think the only thing that has to happen, like the same thing as an RV or a motorhome or whatever the hell it is, the driver has to be cut off completely. That's what I was going to say. That's like with a limo, right? Like a limo.
Starting point is 00:16:43 I think the law there is that since it's two separate compartments, it's cut off. So it has to be cut off. I feel like a lot of party buses, the driver is very much exposed. And also then, oh, 100%. And limos, they have that huge window. So technically, in the new Ubers that have these plastic anti-COVID sheets, can I drink in the back of the Uber? That's a good question.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Or do they have to call it a party Uber? Do I have to order Uber Party? Or you can move to Missouri. What does that mean? As long as you have one less drink than the number of people in the car, you can drink. They're all cracking. Also, I think Connecticut, which is much closer, I think you can. So even the passenger?
Starting point is 00:17:21 The passenger could just be cracking. As long as there's one less drink. Everyone in the car has to be over 21, I think, though. That's. Honestly, I'd live with that. That's fair. That's fair. because you know how cool it would be
Starting point is 00:17:33 to not have to sneakily drink in the car just like we're just long road trip like everyone wants a beer oh man it's fucking awesome too you go to the you're going to the beach or you're going camping or something and you just like pre-game in the car hell yeah
Starting point is 00:17:44 having a drink in the car is nice if it's an hour ride and we have to pre-game an hour before and all sober up or pass out on the way when you can just keep it going yeah well that's why I guess you rent a party car you rent a party car with a shield
Starting point is 00:17:55 rent a party car with a shield easy peasy yeah but I went I went to I went to a winery you know my experiences at wineries always great this one wasn't so bad what happened
Starting point is 00:18:05 no no no I'm saying it was just normal time got stuck with the bill I did get stuck with the bill 16 people
Starting point is 00:18:12 16 people I got stuck with the bill it's cause I was the one talking you know it's like oh they needed
Starting point is 00:18:17 an umbrella like an extra umbrella I was like oh okay so I went I was like hey buddy can we please
Starting point is 00:18:21 have an extra umbrella he's like yeah no problem I learned you know I learned everyone yeah
Starting point is 00:18:25 charged for the umbrella I learned everyone's name I was like oh no hey can I can you get those two extra
Starting point is 00:18:29 bottle pieces He's like, sure, I'll give you a discount. Discount wasn't that heavy. And then, you know, talking the most, extra food, bottles, umbrella, opening the bottle charge, all on me. 16 people. Paid it. Upset about it.
Starting point is 00:18:42 He keeps whining about it. I'll be here all week. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Winery's also overrated. I hate to say it. Hot take. Overrated.
Starting point is 00:18:54 I don't think I've ever been. Why is it overrated? It's just dumb. You just taste a bunch of wines And you're very far away from your home That's really all it is That doesn't sound too bad That sounds kind of nice
Starting point is 00:19:04 I mean, I could taste a bunch of wines here And be close to home Yeah, but they like explain the flavors and stuff, right? Yeah No, they didn't No, they did not Did they explain the tannins? The only thing that was cool
Starting point is 00:19:17 Is that they had a social media counter A live counter And I would just follow and unfollow the whole time And see it flip up and down That was my only entertainment The only thing I know about tasting wines is that if it's a red wine, you go like this, you swirl the glass, and you look at the shrieks, and you go, oh, nice legs on this one.
Starting point is 00:19:37 That's all I say. God, you sound like such a nerd. Nice legs on this one. Nice legs on this one. And then they say they always follow up with another question. And they're like, oh, well, what do you think about this, this, this, the Napa 2012? And I'm like, and I pretend to choke.
Starting point is 00:19:55 I've got to go to the bathroom. Sorry. That was the extent of my knowledge. I know that wine might have legs. It does have legs. Were there spit buckets? No, we just drank them all. The only bucket that was there was the bucket the wine came in.
Starting point is 00:20:11 That's like a real winery where you take it and spit it out. Did you not go to a real one? No, he went to a winery in Long Island. I mean, I went to a couple in Long Island, but they're not fake. They're not set props. When's the last time you went to a winery? they're not when's the last time
Starting point is 00:20:26 they're not answer my question they're not Napa you know it's not the Napa Valley it's not the Simi Valley those are the only two I know yeah you know words
Starting point is 00:20:35 of places you've never been to I've driven past them I've explored but for some yeah I don't know I just think also I've been to Pumpkin Patch
Starting point is 00:20:46 a Pumpkin Patch not that cool yeah Pumpkin Patches are if it was night and like foggy maybe it'd be cool maybe if there was like a skeleton in there
Starting point is 00:20:54 or something you haven't done that Just a bunch of pumpkins. I have gone to, do you know, what's it called? King's Park or whatever. What's that? Place out, the abandoned mental hospital on Long Island. Why on earth would you do that?
Starting point is 00:21:05 And like, you know, middle of the night with a bunch of people. And just explore it. It's fucking, it's creepy as fuck. And how'd you get there? Drove. So you consciously drove. Like, it's not even like you passed by. You guys, you got with a group of friends and you said, hey.
Starting point is 00:21:21 If anyone else in the comments, if anyone from Long Island's been there, because if they're from Milan, they probably have comment. Yes. I'm saying, like, so you got a bunch of friends together. And defend me to Antonio. And decided to go, hey, why don't we all get this call? I'm not the organizer. I didn't get a bunch of friends together.
Starting point is 00:21:36 A bunch of people were going, they're like, hey, do you want to come? So you're a tag-alonger. Yeah. You're the tag-alonger that gets killed. Basically, yeah. Did you hear anything weird? Or is it just group, like, paranoia? No, so it's definitely group paranoia.
Starting point is 00:21:50 It's definitely, dude, I mean, you see a band in mental hospital shit all around the place and like dust and like it's it's this thing has been abandoned for decades and decades and uh you know i i like peered down the elevator shaft just you know no elevator just straight drop fucking crazy yeah yeah um oh and and as i was walking down into it because you walked down to like a lower level to get into it the the step under me broke and my leg went through it yeah it was crazy and then uh um that's pretty much it a bunch of my friends a bunch of those people this is like their 10th time there and other times they've gone they've gotten trespassing tickets from cops and one time they went there was like a man in there a man who i
Starting point is 00:22:36 think lived there a homeless man he was like hey hey how you guys doing oh yeah like conversational yeah they talked to him i'm glad i wasn't there for that one i'd be in the back of the group like JT, we got to go. JT, I'm ready. JT, I'm ready. I don't know how you got me here. I'm ready to go. Dude, it's like midnight too.
Starting point is 00:22:53 It was scary. If you got me there and I took that first step and my leg went through the step, I'd be like, I'm going home. Like, I'm going home. Because you do see in horror movies, right? Like, something happens
Starting point is 00:23:04 that essentially tells everyone and all the actors like, okay, you need to stop. You need to go home. And you're always like, they're so dumb. Why aren't they going home? That would have been it.
Starting point is 00:23:13 That was us. And if that foot through the floor wasn't it, it was the man in there. Well, I wasn't there for that. There's a man in there. No, that sounds kind of cool, honestly. Because what happens if you're in a group, and then there's 10 of you, right?
Starting point is 00:23:25 10 of you went, and you're counting 11. And then he just goes, hey. I think Joe said it, either to us or on his podcast. But he was like, that whole thing with Kings Park makes no sense. Because it's like, not only do I want to talk to ghosts, I want to talk to the insane ones. Like, why would you do that?
Starting point is 00:23:44 Like, if there's anybody there, a mental institution? What conversation are you getting from them? Yeah. It's a haunted mental institution. I would go. It sounds fun. All right, fine. Let's say we would go once.
Starting point is 00:23:59 I don't think you can. Okay, continue. Let's say we would go once. Why do you go ten times? What is the fifth time like compared to the sixth? We also drank while we were there. This is psycho. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:12 I was chugging, I don't even know, Steel Reserve Tallboys in the car on the way there. Also because, in the party car. Also in the party car. Like, what number time was the man? Because that means they went back after. I think, no, they definitely did go back after. I think the man was actually after the time I went, though.
Starting point is 00:24:33 These people are pros. They're vets, the veterans. They're vet king part. I went once, maybe twice. And they've been like 10 times. I think there's something changed, though. I think you can't really go anymore. I think either they have cops patrolling it 24-7 or something's changed.
Starting point is 00:24:54 I don't remember. Let us know in the comments. I've never been to a thing like that. But there was one time by my house in New Jersey, there's this hotel. It's called Legends. It used to be a huge, huge hotel. And it used to be a Playboy hotspot. Hugh Hefner would go there.
Starting point is 00:25:12 and a bunch of like it was a very popular hotel and it's humongous and for some reason like my parents are telling me about this and they were like let's go and like just go check it out like whatever happened to that place and that day they had happened like for some reason there was like a convention or by a ski lodge or whatever and they had a full hotel buyout so so so somebody bought all the rooms of the hotel and something happened and they didn't come so there was nobody in the hotel except for the employees and nobody nobody there's no like no no no guests in the whole place and so when we went in it was just like a person in a lobby and and they were just like hey and we're just like hey we just want to kind of look around and she explained the whole
Starting point is 00:25:57 situation to us but it was super eerie because it's like it's it's like a you know like a hotel that is that the music's still playing the lights are on but just not a single person is in there but no one's home and it's like all these these places that are supposed to be filled with people and it was just it was like the shining it's like very it's very eerie it would be like being at a mall midday when everything's supposed to be open and just no one's in there oh an empty mall sounds terrifying it's like apocalypse stuff it's funny how like you if you're in a crowded place and you just that's like this happened during covid like you when people are taken out of a place it becomes very eerie yeah except for the roads that was great the roads was great like
Starting point is 00:26:39 like like the first day of covid lockdown like you see all those pictures like fucking time square and shit but like i am legend remember we had a curfew do you guys remember that yeah what the fuck is that be in your homes by fucking seven o'clock or we're gonna fucking or what write you up it's gonna go on your permanent record that doesn't even exist do you remember in high school that used to say that? Losers. Yeah, they say it in middle school, too. It'll be on your permanent record.
Starting point is 00:27:05 How about you shove it, loser? I don't know. Permanent record. I'm glad it doesn't exist. And also, if it did exist, why would me throwing a spitball go on it? Yeah. The fact that I was convinced
Starting point is 00:27:21 that me drawing on this radiator would make me not go to college is such a psychotic thing. They also made it seem like this is gonna follow you wherever like if i change schools somehow they're gonna be like okay we have a new student oh my god like look at this record that they sent us like you refuse to tie your shoes in second grade yeah it's like i'm trying to buy limes guy like what do you care also we weren't exactly drawing on the radiator we're melting crayons on it oh no tomato shmimato
Starting point is 00:27:50 shmimato is very different from tomato it looked like madame tussauds back there They're just like a bunch of Crayolas melted onto the radiator. Little wax fingers. Sounds pretty fire. I know, because one of them got stuck to the bottom of my shoe because I stepped on it by accident. So while I was walking through the halls, I had a little track of green crayon,
Starting point is 00:28:10 and I saw one of my teachers come in, follow it all, all the way up to my desk, and said, you. And then I went, what? And they're like, look what you did. And I didn't even realize. And I looked at the bottom of my shoe, just a green crayon melted to it. I was like, fucking damn it.
Starting point is 00:28:22 Crayons be melting. One time my parents got a brand new car, and I left an entire 64-pack of Crayola crayons, the one with the sharpener in the back, and I left it in the car and it just melted onto the seats. My dad was so pissed. There are definitely some moments about having a kid
Starting point is 00:28:42 where it's like, if I hit him like this, but you know it's not really their fault, but it's still like I'm just so angry at this little ball of human. That was a tough one. Yeah, that's well. With the sharpener, too.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Dude, one time, Mike. That pack was the, if you didn't have the pack with the sharpener in the back, you weren't cool. How long was it until you asked them, so, like, can I get a new pack? Because I really like the 64 pack. When am I getting another 64? Actually, there's a new 128 pack out. After that, Danny just came with the 8 pack every time. No, I came with the off-brand ones.
Starting point is 00:29:15 Hot dessert, dessert. It's like, this is why we can't have nice things. The colors were just always so off. Yeah, it's like, why does my blue not look like that blue? It's Crayola or nothing. Everybody knows that. Crayola or nothing. When it comes to crayons, obviously.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Dude, my aunt, my great aunt, 87 years old, had a phone in her apartment that looked like a lamp. It was like one of those things where it's a tall phone, and the phone's on top, and it's a rotary. It's like the phone hangs on the side. It was so old. When I was a kid, I thought it was a joke. I thought it was a novelty thing.
Starting point is 00:29:50 and I would pretend to call the police. So you would call the police. I would call the police. Well, I didn't know I was calling the police. I would pretend to call the police and scream, help, help, I'm being murdered. Like, I would just, I don't know why. Didn't you hear them on the other line?
Starting point is 00:30:06 No, like, no, because I needed the other earpiece. I didn't know. Yeah, it's true. I didn't know. The phone was from, like, the 1700s, and then just cops showed up to the dinner. Oh. And they were like, we've heard of an extermence, a disturbance.
Starting point is 00:30:20 And I just cried in the couch for an hour. Nice. Have you ever called 911 and the cops, if I called and something was actually happening, I don't think they would do anything. Because they always show up like an hour later and they ring the doorbell. And they're like, hey, anything happening over here? It's like, can you please come with some haste? You know, every time I've called the cops for some reason, I don't know how many times I've done that.
Starting point is 00:30:44 I feel like you are right. But every time the cops are called on me, which has been quadruple the amount of times I've called the cops, they are like SEAL Team 6. They're quiet. They turn off their flashlights. They bust in the yard and go, what's going on here? I'm like, what is happening here, guy? I think for NYPD, for emergencies, their response time is like pretty low. Like it's like a few minutes.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Well, because there's so many. They do get here. Yeah, they're everywhere. They do get here quick. But if you're talking about something that's, like, sort of a non-emergency, then, like, so, like, I had my house, like, broken into, but while we're on vacation. So this was when we got home, we saw it was broken into, but it probably happened days ago, so it's not, like, an actual emergency. And, yeah, those guys, it took, like, a while for them to show up, and they just went, like, all right, and they took some fingerprints and left. That's it.
Starting point is 00:31:34 I'll tell you what, though. Honestly, props to the fire department, because I feel like they get here less than a minute. As soon as my fire alarm went off, and I was like, fuck, they're coming. Because it's like just the shower. If you hear it, they're already here. Yeah, the shower set it off. As soon as you hear the alarm, they're coming. I'm like, fuck.
Starting point is 00:31:51 And then 30 seconds later, when I thought, okay, maybe they're not coming, you hear the fire truck. It's so quick. And I'm like, they're coming for us. They're coming for us. I remember that. I don't know. I guess I just had a bunch of non-emergencies. like one time my bike was stolen and i called the police and they and they got there and they were
Starting point is 00:32:09 like the fuck do you want us to do about it and i was like okay well i was i was still burglar like i was still burglarized i was taking advantage like i was stolen from like maybe put out a i don't know write it down on a notepad and like to keep a lookout or something pretend to just pretend to care also but like the thing is you called the police when you got your bike stolen give them the danny voice calling this police because that would make me that would make me not show up it was like uh it was probably like hey oh my bike was stolen yeah i'm not showing up this is what danny used to sound like it's like not it's not even a joke hey dude yo dude my bike was stolen well it was who cares what the voice sounds like it was stolen i care oh bro if i was
Starting point is 00:32:51 a cop and i and i heard hey dude my bike was stolen can you help me i'd be like this fucking nerd kid also if you want to speaking of when we're talking about stealing cars before if you want to make a living steal bikes the cops don't do anything about stolen bikes and and you could get a bike 200 300 to 600 a pop oh yeah yeah casey nice nice that has a great video called bike thief where he goes and steals his own bike in front of the like police and they just don't care and it and the one people who came up to him he just said oh this is my bike i lost the key and they were like okay yeah like what are you gonna show me i show me proof there's no yeah there's no like registration so so you can just go with a simple like crowbar you break a bike
Starting point is 00:33:33 and there's no like there's no advanced bike lock like any any like if you have an angle grinder you can get into any bike so start stealing bikes angle grinders a bit much you do you people wouldn't question it then no that's intense no that that that's the video he's he literally he's literally outside of a precinct and he has a handheld angle grinder and it's going sparks flying sparks flying and everything and nobody bats
Starting point is 00:33:57 I was thinking more like bolt cutters yeah it's like something easy nobody bats an eye dude how many times your bike gets stolen like twice
Starting point is 00:34:04 every bike I've ever had every bike Danny's ever had was stolen and then Danny went super hardcore and locked up every part of his bike and then they stole the seat
Starting point is 00:34:12 they stole the seat it was so upsetting they did do so when I saw that I was like god fucking damn I got like the most secure lock in the world
Starting point is 00:34:20 they stole the seat they stole the seat Which is not, like, a terrible, terrible thing. Like, you can still ride the bike, but it's very unfortunate. Well, were you, like, how did they get stolen? Like, I assume you ride to the park, right? But, and, like, you... No, you know, you leave them outside, locked up.
Starting point is 00:34:37 And then you go in, you know, whatever. You go in someone's house, you leave them outside, locked up or something. Yeah, and we used to stay inside. And, you know... And you get stolen when you're, like, when it's literally right outside a house you're in and shit. Yeah, 100%. And you just see the lock, you know, snipped on the ground. I think the seat was stolen, like, outside the diner.
Starting point is 00:34:52 No, the seat was stolen directly, like, right outside your house here. Oh, well, that was me. By the Minecraft house. Dude, what is up with? That's crazy. I mean, I've never had a bike stolen. I've never had a bike for them to steal. That's just crazy.
Starting point is 00:35:06 I don't think I know how to ride a bike. Well, I play it safe. Like, you can't steal anything from me if I got nothing to steal from. That was in, like, eighth or high school. And then I didn't buy a new one because every single one up to that point had been stolen. It was almost like he was being targeted personally. Every single two-wheeled vehicle he had was stolen. Well, a lot of bikes around here got stolen.
Starting point is 00:35:26 There used to be a conspiracy theory by a lot of people that the bike shop would sell you the bike and then steal it back. I mean, it was basically... It's free money. The conspiracy theory was all but confirmed, except for maybe it wasn't the actual bike shop people stealing it. But they would sell it to the bike shop, and then you would buy it back anyway.
Starting point is 00:35:47 Yeah, true. Nick would buy his stolen bike back from the bike shop multiple times. There was a bike that suspiciously looked exactly like one of our friends' bikes that was stolen back in the store. Yeah. But it happens. I mean, whether or not an actual employee came, stole it, and sold it back to them. That's up to them.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Or whether it's a thief that sold it. Like, it's... It's up to them. It's up to them. It's up to them. It's up to them. It's up to them. But we're good here, boys.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Okey-doke. You did good. Lock up your bikes. Or just put them inside. Yeah. If you can. JT, tell them where to find you. Let's get out of here.
