Starting point is 00:00:00 welcome back to the bicky boys podcast here we are here we are oh here here here ye how's it going everybody here ye here ye jt became um a guatemalan soccer player superstar yeah honestly you know i'm a fan of the jerseys the let's put ads everywhere possible that's i think there's a there's a taco bell ad somewhere that's why they got it for me i thought you're staring right at it oh i couldn't see i was staring right at it yeah that's sick so my i'm someone in my family got it for me the thing is i hate it on every other sports like on sports where it's not uh like set up already like football or basketball basketball they're starting to incorporate it nascar nascar looks good it's part of the aesthetic in nascar it's always been did you
Starting point is 00:00:48 see the guy that um offered up his wedding suit for advertisers no you see that no dude he had Just like Wonder Bread across the back and like Progressive and Crypto Arena and stuff. Was he like an influencer or was he just a guy? Just a guy. You know, sometimes you just throw it out there. The guy who said, hey, I'm getting married. Any company wants to do it? Those companies jump on everything.
Starting point is 00:01:09 It's a great idea. No, it is a great idea. And it can be an aesthetic if you do all of them. I actually think it looks worse like on NBA jerseys, for example, that will just be the classic jersey and then have like Vista print. Like I think that looks awful. Yeah, they're also lame ads. yeah bro you know what i was watching i was watching the rocket league paris championships the ball the rocket league ball i don't know if people know rocket league cars you fly you hit a
Starting point is 00:01:34 ball like soccer with cars the rocket league ball progressive oh that's that's just on it progressive that's a great idea dude the ball is sponsored and you know it's a big arena it's a big event it was at some paris stadium there's like 40 000 people there which is crazy how much it costs i don't work at progressive we should we should get a super oh i'll tell you this weekend no no a lower level rocket league tournament maybe like you know not not the pros not tier one maybe tier two i would love to know tier three i would love to know how many signups patreon.com progressive god i'd love to know how many signups progressive god from because i don't know if my 18 year old brother watching the rocket league championship is signing up for progressive but that's but that's
Starting point is 00:02:15 why it works for these big companies is because one day in the future they're betting on he's gonna have to buy car insurance and just in his back of his mind they say oh progressive they're playing the long game progressive the best way to advertise your insurance put it on the rocket league ball i'm telling you so that's what these ads that's what some of these ads are for you ever see an ad that is just simply for a such a small group of people it's like like little people like why like on hockey they're like advertising like you know like large uh construction equipment and it's like that is for such a small niche of people but if just one of them converts it will be worth it yeah that's the thing for stuff like that even peloton ads for people who are selling
Starting point is 00:03:01 like m floors what the fuck am i talking about in flowers influencers that are selling pelotons or something all you have to do is use their code twice and peloton got a two bike sale that pays for it yeah exactly speaking of the you know the ads all over these things i don't watch soccer for the longest time i thought fly emirates or whatever was a soccer team no i thought that was a soccer team i thought that's uh they're on like every jersey or what is it yeah that's that's the weird part is that the jerseys that the people wear have the ads still like if you buy a celtics jersey i don't think it has the ad that the nba players i don't think it has the ad but that that is just what you know whatever team so real madrid that is what they are known as so you thought
Starting point is 00:03:48 every single soccer team i thought they were the biggest team in the world and everyone's a super fan it's like every time i've also never heard of that's an airline yeah i've never like that they don't operate in america maybe or i've never it's yeah like dubai it's that stuff okay yeah I've never heard of – You can fly from here, but it's to Dubai. Well, they got – It's like every time you put on a baseball game, it's like, oh, my God. The Washington Nationals play every day, every hour?
Starting point is 00:04:18 What's that? I don't know. It's just a baseball game. No. I don't – Wait, I'm confused too. Every time you turn on soccer, the Flying Emirates were playing? No, not every time I turn on soccer.
Starting point is 00:04:27 It's only one team. Not every time I turn on soccer. I don't watch soccer. So I'm just talking about people – on every soccer jersey it's on every jersey they print for that team oh my god everyone's talking in riddles bro so everyone walking i don't watch soccer i'd never watch it but i'm just talking about everyone in public wearing you know their favorite team soccer jersey i just see it and go oh it's another fly emirates jersey those fly emirates they must be are they world champions
Starting point is 00:04:52 or something they must be real fast their emirates also supposedly has like one of the best first class cabins they're like the thirty thousand dollar you can shower on the plane you can fucking sleep on the plane i think that's where he was going with that you could probably fuck him because he brought out the make love yeah they're basically rooms like they're rooms well i mean they're flying from what dubai to abu dhabi so it's like rich on rich on rich rich to rich or new york to abu dhabi which honestly might be worth it not worth it but define worth it he's not dropping 30 000 i find worth it but but it makes way more sense to do it on like a 15 hour flight than a two hour i agree i don't actually know if i agree with that one time i splurged
Starting point is 00:05:36 for first class um because it was like so cheap and i was like what this is first class because it was like a three hour flight and it was spirit airlines it was just nothing like it was just a it was just kind of a big seat but they said oh we don't do beverage or food service because it's so short so it wasn't first class it was just a big seat well that's just why it was super cheap well i mean of course i knew that go and now i know that but it was a first class seat but you weren't treated like first class yes okay exactly so i would say not worth it well it was pretty cheap so kind of worth it i guess probably not still what airline it was a united it was just it was just it was just a big seat that's all it was hey man you gotta love a big
Starting point is 00:06:20 see look at this shirt oh yeah look at this shirt look at this shirt oh we're going through all the shirts i think you're trying to go brown i was trying no that's interesting that's interesting i think you're picking up style style tips from some other people oh you're saying oh the other podcast the other podcast we don't we don't mention that looks like that looks like i'd find that in the other podcast guys closet really the are you saying you but no let's not let's not do the non what actually the non what i was gonna say non-bearded but they both have beards so so what else the non distinguished the hatted one they both wear hats yeah but one does wear has more and he has great really i don't know why he doesn't i would have thought
Starting point is 00:07:04 the hatted one wears that no i think this is from the non-hatted one i was trying a different color i mean i feel like does that mean it's a compliment i think it's a nice shirt he doesn't want to give you a compliment i like it it doesn't want it it doesn't want it depends on your style i i like it though i think i'd like it more in a mustard color i think that could go hard oh yeah like yo no no that's not mustard i mean that's like a that's like a uh bro bro that's that's like okay okay that's like you want me to wear no no no hold on hold on no no this is like a that jc wait wait what's the popular mustard that yeah that's what that is when i say mustard color i'm talking about like no this is yellow mustard he's talking about like
Starting point is 00:07:45 dijon like yeah dijon a real a real dijon you had a dijon yeah yeah jt i'll be honest horrific take that's like the ugliest color oh it looks great on shirts people know what i mean so jt wants that in the dijon mustard which i think is just brown what is this it's more that is brown what are we talking about this is this is oh hold on i'll send jason this is my this is more oh don't tell me that's the same color don't tell me that's the same color this is a little yellow but it is similar you're saying there's such a difference where like first of all this color is disgusting you're colorblind first of all you proved it in last wednesday video i didn't lose i didn't lose there's more color i lost my like 0.004 points
Starting point is 00:08:31 i have a question yes is that second place no and i don't think either of us are colorblind for the record i think jt had an easy path but that's wednesday video you have to watch that you'd have an excuse if you wet the bed pal you'd have an excuse if you wet the bed okay i would i drank too much water that day probably that's a good saying by the way i never heard that my grandpa would tell that to me every time i had an excuse so did you also wet the bed yes and i had a lot of excuses for it by the way bladder problems i'm also starting to realize that you kind of look like buzz lightyear a little bit the purple to infinity and beyond It's Toy Story 4 out in theaters soon.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Not sponsored. Five, sorry. Is it going to be in your letterbox? Are you talking about AMC? No, no, I'm not talking about A-Lister. Somebody tried to call me out. Somebody tried to say that I was financially flexing on people by saying I see so many movies per week.
Starting point is 00:09:25 He's doing the opposite. Opposite of flexing. Why do you think he's seeing so many movies? It's to make the AMC, A-Lister thing valuable. It's like $2 a week or something? It's $27 a month, but you can see four movies a week. How much is that a day? Four a week.
Starting point is 00:09:41 That's less than a dollar a day. So you can see 16 movies a week. So it's essentially like $2-ish per movie. I hate breaking it up. So that's like less than a dollar a day to go to all these movies? Yeah. I hate breaking things up that way. It's a great deal.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Patreon.com slash pickyboys. Golden tier, eight books a month. How much is that a day? How much is that a video? A video? Yeah. We have like a thousand videos on there. So it's like a penny a video or something?
Starting point is 00:10:05 Less than a penny. Less than a penny, because that's 800 pennies. Patreon.com slash PickyBoys. Get in there. Also, Cardathon, twitch.tv slash ThePickyBoys, July 10th, right in your calendars. Housekeeping. Housekeeping. I will say, I do see, I've seen 16 movies last month, starting to see movies this week.
Starting point is 00:10:22 16? I saw three movies this week so far, and it has come to the point where I've seen my first bad movie. and i mean like really bad right you saw 29 movies and this is the first bad one well i've only said 16 and 13 it's been 16 and now this is three so far oh so 19 movies so 19 movies and i saw the first bad one and i shit you not this might be one of the worst movies i've ever seen what movie is it like a name problem should i name drop wait do we have to guess it are you gonna tell us about I don't think you'd know. Ah!
Starting point is 00:10:56 Jiminy Justice. I Danny'd it again this week. It's called Corporate Retreat. It's a horror movie on Antonio's heart. Not this movie specifically, just horror as a genre. I thought Danny was like, oh yeah, someone was trying to get me to go on a corporate retreat, and that's horrific. It was a theater with 12 single men. Nobody came with another person.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Oh, it was a... You asked them about their relationships? What kind of movie was it? Yeah, how'd you know that? Nobody was sitting next to each other. We were all sitting... Singular! singular yeah oh you're saying okay yeah that's why danny's really going single man and when the
Starting point is 00:11:32 lights went down things got crazy danny goes up that's what danny does at the theaters he goes up to every singular man he's like are you what are you no it was 12 singular men many of them had lots of plastic bags too i don't know what that was about but that's besides the point five of the men walked out of the theater during this one. Damn. That's how awful it was. Together? Yes. So maybe... No, no, no, sorry. Were they all... No!
Starting point is 00:11:57 Did the plastic bag guys stay or leave? They stayed. One guy was eating a gigantic tub of strawberries. Like, fresh strawberries. It was a weird day. That guy was single. So these are... Those guys are definitely all A-listers, by the way.
Starting point is 00:12:14 Oh, 100%. This is an A-list theater. You can tell, because I think they give each other looks like... yeah well at the beginning they say thanks for to our a-listers and everyone stands if you're an a-lister obviously he thought you were serious for one second but the point is oh we're getting to that so so bad i hate this movie give it a half star on letterboxd is that the lowest you can go lowest you can go you can't give zero stars and then what is one of my favorite things to do after a movie is check the comments on letterboxd so i thought he was gonna say and the comments on this movie were exactly what i thought they'd be but they were actually a little
Starting point is 00:12:53 bit more emotionally charged because there is apparently a movie theater chain that does secret movie days so you walk in you don't know what movie you're seeing and this was one of them so countless countless reviews said marcus mystery monday watch yourself like countless reviews and there was one that i thought was one of the best reviews i've ever seen i love looking at one star reviews sometimes half star just like me half star reviews so this is a half star review for couples retreat no for corporate retreat corporate to zero because you said that's the lowest you can go that's a zero to me this is by blake offey he said marcus mystery monday a true abomination not only an affront to cinema but an affront to god a poison dart in the neck
Starting point is 00:13:42 of the human race ai is winning and we're trotting this shit out made me rethink the concept of sentient imagination should we be allowed to think should we be allowed to speak or write if the big bang led to this then it was a mistake that is one of the most scathing movie reviews i've ever heard dude a movie reconsidering like if if someone thinks that we as people should be allowed to think no higher than a stapler and i debated even talking about this because i don't want it to be like an effect where more people will see the movie because of this do not watch it i'm begging you not to watch that will make people watch i'm begging you not to watch it it's unnecessarily gory it's really bad it's not even so bad it's a little funny no
Starting point is 00:14:33 it's not those are sometimes the ones that turn out to be the best no so there's 20 years there's a bounce back effect where it's like oh this movie's so bad bounce up to a one and a half star again yeah bad and good
Starting point is 00:14:45 this was not that just bad throw a basketball to the ground it's coming back up it's coming back up not this is dead this is dead basketball
Starting point is 00:14:53 this is like a ball of slime it just goes but that's my movie story of the week not that this is gonna happen every week but it might there's no way it can't
Starting point is 00:15:02 he watches 19 movies a week so that's that made him question free will made him question are you gonna run out of movies like what do you have left right uh there there's a shocking amount of movies that are released that nobody knows about yeah but when they created this amc
Starting point is 00:15:19 a-lister thing there's no way that they were thinking long term enough to be like oh we probably owe this guy money who money you yeah i mean i feel like there's no way someone's gonna see what how many you think roger how many think they're gonna see in a month with this ticket nine no you saw 19 movies i would agree with you but they upped the movie count from three to four so like people wanted more what they the amca list used to be three movies a week now it's four so people demanded more lots of movies come out every week this term people i'm telling you you it's impossible for me to explain to you but there is a whole underground internet community that is exclusively a listers this this all started with like the movie pass thing right
Starting point is 00:16:12 yeah jason was big on that but that was too good of a deal exactly how many active members do you think are part of danny's exclusive amc i love this i love this hold on well if you go by this room it's one in three so 100 million americans no um i love this question hold on where are you getting these stats i'm gonna say amc i'm gonna say 95 000 right i'm gonna say 200 000 right it can't be lower right so amc how they know this is they released like oh we just hit this milestone they passed 1 million active members in amc stuff that's what i'm talking about bro this is keeping the movies live and one thing keeping the movies alive it's keeping amc alive you guys are all falling for it and one thing i know first of all falling for it i'm definitely falling for amc
Starting point is 00:17:03 not falling they're running the movies anyway amc is like the more like also you're getting your money also no no no i because this was important to me because i i support artists and i wanted to make sure that Don't spin this into I'm a good person. I said, hold on, let me finish. I support artists, and it was pivotal before I signed up for this that my movie ticket would count as a regular price admission for box office sales, and it does.
Starting point is 00:17:33 AMC partners with studios to cover the price. So my AMC ticket is worth the full $18 or $15 or whatever it is. yo this guy doesn't give a fuck about that he doesn't give a make loving he doesn't care about that i do get i do give a shit about that i'm not saying that i would stop being an amc enlister if that happened but but you said pivotal but i would i would for certain movies and directors that i like i would buy a ticket wait so this is this is falsely inflating box office numbers no not if amc given them i think are they you know i don't know i don't know i don't know it doesn't seem like it makes sense bro they got them they're making minimum now we know 27 mil a month they got
Starting point is 00:18:19 they do specify that you must scan the ticket and be there for it to count even so if you book it and don't show up it won't count which makes sense okay as opposed to a ticket where if you buy it and don't show up it counts no that makes sense because amc can't just be giving these box offers free money so that makes that makes me believe it more because how many danny's are really out there i'm sure there's a million amc alicers no one's like not many are seeing 19 movies a month or maybe maybe they are for the first month and then it slows down to one a week yeah so amc's making a killing off of a million danny's okay but danny's enjoying himself so that's good i'm enjoying myself the exact amount same amount would go to the artist no matter which
Starting point is 00:18:57 way you that's the artist or i guess the production company whatever it would be that's what that's what they say they say it counts exactly the same as a regular ticket towards box office okay projections what if it's matinee i don't know i don't know how that works what if it's imax i don't know how that works i don't know i don't know the answers for something i don't know the answer something so pivotal to your heart you don't give a shit i like that i'm gonna start doing movie reviews too like uh like on instagram yeah okay it has content yeah yeah okay well People want to know. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:19:31 They've been asking this guy. I put three stars, three out of five stars for The Mandalorian, and I received three different DMs that said, can we get a more in-depth review here, please? I think you messed that up the word twice. Depth. No, no, not that. You said adept, and then-
Starting point is 00:19:46 In-depth. Wait, no, then you said it completely different that time. Either way, whether you care or not, go follow me on Instagram. Danny's watching. This guy doesn't care about anything. Shameless. Shameless. So people follow you on Letterboxd, then.
Starting point is 00:20:00 True. I'm trying to get my handle on Instagram on Letterboxd. Hard job. Oh, Danny is watching. That's too good. That's perfect. It's taken. It's taken by some, like, Australian fucker who's reviewed five movies.
Starting point is 00:20:12 How do you know he's Australian? They're all Australian movies. Does he have a little bit of an accent? But not enough to, like, I wasn't sure. It's like a little, I think. Wait, did you message him? Is he shaking you down for what you're wearing? I message people on Letterboxd.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Can you reply to his review? You can report him, though. Everyone go report Danny as well. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. This guy is asking people to report an innocent man. This guy is asking people. Do not report.
Starting point is 00:20:41 I'll figure it out with Letterboxd. I'll contact them and see if I can get it. I'll tell you what. If they give it to you, they're the only company on the planet that does that. Because no one does that. I fucking hate it. For now, I'm Danny underscore Davidio. Like DeVito.
Starting point is 00:20:57 D-A-V-I-D-I-O? Or D-E? He doesn't know how to spell DeVito. He doesn't know how to spell DeVito. D-E, right? D-E-D. Okay. Danny underscore DeVito.
Starting point is 00:21:07 Honestly, almost as good. I like it. Might be better. Was Danny DeVito taken? Yes. So why did you say Danny underscore is watching? That is just like, because now I have to say the underscore, and I just thought it was funny.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Whatever. You know what? Stop judging my hobbies. I was just asking. asking that was this that was this week's danny's movie time this month's maybe we'll do it monthly she had a jingle danny's movie time come sit around but i do have a question um have you ever come so close to greatness and failed oh my god that's so deep um huh probably uh or maybe even just something you like have i ever failed like have you ever
Starting point is 00:21:59 come so close to winning something maybe a game or a competition and then you just falls through your your hand like sand like the the the half court shot at halftime to win a ten thousand dollars and you miss it by an inch or something i don't know yeah are you saying i've done that Have you done anything like that? No, I have never done that. What a specific thing for someone to have done. Our friend Ray did. Ray did do it.
Starting point is 00:22:20 He missed slightly to the left, but Jokic did it. Well, hold on. Let's first tell them his achievements. It was five shots. One layup, one from the foul line, one from a three-pointer. And he made all four of the first ones. And then there was a half-court shot, and he missed that. That counts as the question Danny's asking, I think.
Starting point is 00:22:41 Exactly. Like, Ray would have counted it. But he said Jokic was right there. So he probably creamed his pants a little bit. It's kind of hard to make a half-court shot with just full pants. Full of cream? Well, I thought everyone understood that. Oh, gotcha, gotcha.
Starting point is 00:22:55 I thought everyone got that. All right, let's say we have. Yes, what is the point? Well, the point is I have some questions here. For example, the first one is from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? And it is the million-dollar question that the person got wrong. So I've got a list of questions here that are just like that. and I'm going to ask you a question.
Starting point is 00:23:15 So this person made it to the million dollar question of who wants to be a millionaire and got it wrong. Got it wrong. And you think that we have a chance. And if you get it right, win a million dollars. Well, they had multiple choice. Do we get it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:25 Oh, okay. They had multiple choice. Are we working together? Or is he my phone or friend? Are we each other's phone or friend? I'm not working with you. You can be your phone or friend. All right, this one is from who wants to be a millionaire.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Million dollar question. For ordering his favorite beverages on demand, LBJ had four buttons in the Oval Office. Labeled coffee, tea, Coke, and what else? Here are your answers. Oh, I forgot. Okay. Fresca, V8, Yoo-Hoo, or A&W?
Starting point is 00:23:55 Like root beer, I guess. Can I – just give me the three he had already. Coffee, tea, and Coke. There's no way he has Coke and A&W. Do you know what A&W is? It's root beer. Yes. It's also a very popular fast food chain.
Starting point is 00:24:10 People don't know that. True. people love sandwiches right yeah something like um i would definitely say yo i might have seen this clip and he might have said yoohoo because it's in my head wait you've seen this is lyndon b johnson but no it's the question the question is the from the who wants to be oh yeah yeah fuck by the way how's this guy getting it right by the way a little bit of context this guy's named ken basin and he thought that he knew the answer 100 he literally said give me a million dollars regis it's this and then we just had to break it to him that he got it wrong and what
Starting point is 00:24:45 are the options one more time fresca v8 yoohoo a and w okay fresco no way it's v8 right v8 so v8 it's like a vegetable juice right was it around i don't know but what i'm wondering is like maybe he had something to counteract because those are kind of unhealthy options i guess coffee and tea aren't that bad but maybe he wanted a healthy thing thrown in there that he would pretend to have and he probably would never even press the button or or at least when someone was looking at his desk to be like, oh, well, he says V8 on there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:09 And then have you had Fresca before? Honestly, I thought that was cheese. Queso Fresca. Yeah, maybe. No, it's like, I think it's like, it's like Sprite kind of. I think it's like a citrus soda.
Starting point is 00:25:22 There's no way he has two sodas on there. And then maybe he does because he had tea and coffee. That's caffeine. And the other side, soda, soda. Well, what's the, what's the other one? Yo, Yoohoo.
Starting point is 00:25:30 That's what I think. Chocolate. I don't think it's Yoohoo. That's childish, bro. That's just childish. He's the president. He's got buttons for Coke. Oh, and you're the president.
Starting point is 00:25:40 You're getting your chalky milk? Your chalky milk from mama? Also, are we sure that was Coca-Cola? I don't know. It's not Yoo-Hoo. It's not Yoo-Hoo. Oh, yeah, maybe. Yoo-Hoo, not even milk, by the way.
Starting point is 00:25:51 It's not. It's a chocolate drink. It's even worse. Yeah, but it probably tasted better back then. I'm going with it. You know what? Everything tasted better. Scratch it all, V8.
Starting point is 00:25:59 Should I just go the same with him? I'm going to go A&W. I'm going to go A&W. the answer was fresca damn it ken basin's answer was yoo-hoo i didn't remember i remembered he swears to this day that he saw a picture of lbj with a yoo-hoo and that's what made him well he still could have maybe he did i knew i remembered this clip damn i gotta fight my memory of the clip i saw these people losing he did walk away with 25 000 oh i thought you lose it all no there's like there's like steps okay there's lock-in i mean 25 000 million and he could have
Starting point is 00:26:32 walked away with half a million the step before if he like i'm not sure exactly how i don't think it's how that i think it's like every four questions you you can like continue or not continue did you was this the million dollar question or no yes there's no way you could lock in at 500k that's no you can walk away oh no that's still maybe it does say he lost 475 000 so yeah you can walk away so you choose to move on but if you move on i thought you lost at all i guess you well you thought he thought he knew you also if you make it to a million dollar question you might as well see it sure you gotta i'd rather walk away with 500k you gotta see it because what if you know it yeah you and what if you don't what if your lifeline's left you have
Starting point is 00:27:13 50 50 you got a phone a friend it's the fact that he didn't know it so confidently wrong which was funny second question this is from british million who wants to be a millionaire so it's kind of not a million either way which of these words each coined by a famous writer was derived from a fairy tale about three princes oh i love this a pandemonium b serendipity c utopia or d yahoo you hit me with another yoohoo come on okay utopia has got to be greek right it can't be that one i know cornucopia i'm thinking like i'm feeling serendipity i'm feeling serendipity hard here here because it it it does sound very made up so does pandemonium to be fair to be fair but serendipity it also sounds like it could come from a name like serena or something
Starting point is 00:28:08 so i'm going serendipity it's a thing about three princesses yes prince wait princess or princess princess princess dude i wonder if it's the story where one prince was so popular he got a good girl one prince was like good with like crops he got a good wife and then one was just like a bastard and he went and like married a witch and she wound up coming back and being like super super princess wise and I'm pretty sure that was
Starting point is 00:28:32 serendipity in that story so I'm just gonna go serendipity what did you say? serendipity the answer is serendipity it is actually the three princes of serendip oh that's a Persian fairy tale I'm not kidding I think I got it
Starting point is 00:28:47 I think I know the story uh nicholas bennett who lost said yahoo what a stupid ass people the yahoo and yoohoo people get confused i don't know why no if i was on that show i think i got i've slumdog million there that i think hell yeah uh we got another one this is um from jeopardy final jeopardy all three contestants in final jeopardy got this wrong wow also typically jeopardy is not multiple choice but i'm giving you don't give it yet don't give it yet start out there okay so you want i'll just not give it then that's not what i meant the the category is the calendar and the answer because that's how jeopardy works is this calendar date wait hold on a second uh this calendar date
Starting point is 00:29:30 is the one where the 20 cent oh my god yeah this isn't a prompt danny wrote this down in his notes so good luck this this is definitely written wrong okay um okay no the answer is calendar date with which the 20th century began so what is the first day of the 20th century okay so i can was it always january 1st i would say january 1st 1900 yeah that's what i think too but but they all got it wrong was it always january 1st that's the thing like was the start of the new year calendar year all was it always you asking if it could be yeah what are you asking Like, did we change it to the first because, like, New Year's got super popular? Or was it always, like, even back then, January 1st is the start of a new year?
Starting point is 00:30:18 You know what I'm saying? And this isn't that long ago. 1900 we're talking about. No, I know what you're saying because they did add months to the calendar. Like, we used to have, like— Yeah, yeah, yeah. October used to be the eighth month, which is why it was October. But this is, like, 2,000 years ago.
Starting point is 00:30:31 I don't think the calendar's changed in the past 126 years. But I don't know. It can't be January 1st, 1900 because they all got it wrong. Well, maybe they all said – maybe they're all big dum-dums and they said 2000. I got to – I don't want to like mental math myself too much. I think if you go January 1st, I shouldn't. Okay. So let's try to get this right together.
Starting point is 00:30:53 We'll split 500K, 500K. But what else would you – like I can't even think of another. I don't know. I'm just going to name a date and hope I'm right. Repeat question. The answer is calendar date with which the 20th century began. Trying to figure out if there's some weird wording. There was a sneaky thing where it was actually the year 2000.
Starting point is 00:31:12 But the 20th century began. I know. If they all got it wrong, I'm thinking there's got to be a sneaky answer here. But I also, I can't think of another answer that would even be acceptable in my head. You go January 1st. I'm going to go January 1st, 2000. Just, it's not right. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:31:31 Is the answer like December 31st, 1899 or something? Does that make sense? like for some reason it's no it's when it started right yes with which the 20th century began i'm gonna go 2000 january 1st midnight midnight is the next day so i have to go january 1st the year 1900 that is what every single person wrote down we knew that right the answer is no winner um well that's not the answer sorry who talks that uh the answer is january 1st 1901 there is no year zero in the calendar so every century starts on a year ending in one the year 1900 is the last year of the 19th century the great point this is alex trebek
Starting point is 00:32:16 second day on the job no but the year the year starts the first that's true because the first century was zero right so if you count zero through 99 that's 100 years so wouldn't the 100th year be the second century no it's like it's like when you're born you know you're not zero years old it's one to a hundred did we start at zero do we go straight to one do we go from 1 bc to 1 ad or is there a year zero this this says we probably specifically there is no year zero in the calendar now that i'm thinking about it we definitely didn't go to zero ad it was definitely one ad you start at one i guess right you gotta i was just hoping it was a weird wording thing where it's like oh y2k they were like oh this is the start of the technology
Starting point is 00:32:59 century but i actually like this because it kind of makes sense why we nope that was a lie i was gonna say it kind of makes sense why you call it like the 20th century because it's one after but it makes sense it's 99 before yes oh you like you like that okay all right uh this okay here's here's one another jeopardy one categories military men on june 6 1944 blank said the eyes of the world are upon you i'll give you four options douglas mcarthur dwight d eisenhower george s patton or winston churchill big churchill guy he found a way to churchill he found a way to include i love churchill he found a way i'm doing i'm going what is churchill i'll go i'll go i'll go who's churchill gotta go church it is dwight d eisenhower
Starting point is 00:33:54 this guy actually won he was so far in the lead that it didn't matter but his response on the card was uh hold on a second what card like on jeopardy you write down your final answer and his response on the answer was who is some guy in normandy normandy but i just won 75 000 that's what he wrote down as the answer who is some guy in Normandy yeah he said who is some guy in Normandy but I just won $75,000 so then other people couldn't wager enough to catch up
Starting point is 00:34:28 congratulations so he flexed on them he kind of flexed on them that was a mental unit flex it was alright I have a couple more we're so far over I'm sorry I can do one more then let's do an extra two in Patreon just in case ooh I like that
Starting point is 00:34:43 another Jeopardy I'm going Jeopardy You're so fucking hard. I hate Jeopardy. Do you have any not Jeopardy? He doesn't even really like Jeopardy. This term for a long-handled gardening tool can also mean an immoral pleasure seeker. A hoe. Oh my god, what the fuck is it called in Minecraft?
Starting point is 00:35:02 The fuck is it called? A shovel. No, the other one. A pickaxe. No, the other one. A spade. Shit, is that what it's called? I don't, what are you referring to?
Starting point is 00:35:10 It's the one that looks like a little scythe, but you make it in Minecraft. Fuck, what's it called? ho is obviously not the word it's it's a it's it's the thing that is the the hoe the thing that is the hoe fuck i know i know what you're talking about the thing that looks like you know there's a shovel you can you can you can till the grass with it right yes or till the dirt and turn it into yes what is it called a hoe no not minecraft's not called a hoe it's not a bad word what does that have to do with anything kind of wait is it called a hoe it's definitely not called a hoe actually what am i talking about i thought it was how am i is it a hoe all right you go home i'll go
Starting point is 00:35:44 what is the thing from minecraft all right okay i'll go how do you think for minecraft is a hoe by the way what is the thing from minecraft oh but that's not the answer the answer is rake but uh famously ken jennings who is now the who is now the host of jeopardy said hoe and then alex trebek said oh is that what they teach you in school in utah and everybody laughed that's such a setup question what is this 16th century term rake for an immoral pleasure see i've never heard that in my life this is the answer there's no one's been called this also wasn't wasn't even a final question but i just thought it was funny no one's been called a rake in 50 years bro what is rake can we get a rake definition no i'm looking up to what the fucking thing in minecraft's called
Starting point is 00:36:28 it's called a hoe i don't it's not called a hoe bro minecraft tool i was shocked by that too well ho's too easy of an answer so it can't be yeah oh that's why i said it's a setup question it's called a ho damn it what's a rake then is that like some slang old term that's what i'm saying bro no one's been called that in 100 years yes uh in slang in slang and historical context a rake short for rakael is a term used to describe a man who is a womanizer habituated to immoral behavior so a life of scandalous leisure it literally a hoe no a hoe is also kind of right in that question like you could appeal if you lost a million dollars you might be able to appeal because that is an answer so what is gardening just really horny but i think
Starting point is 00:37:17 a hoe is because now it's oe and hoe is ho oh that's good no that's santa no that's ho ho ho that's what i'm saying but that's why it's a joke so you're saying santa has three if i if i typed out your mom's a hoe how would you spell hoe h-o-e now i don't know yes i would you would say h-o i think both are acceptable well okay here's the here's here's the biggest argument against it i don't even think hoe is a real word like rake is a real word and i'm sure it's a real yo the tool in minecraft is called hoe isn't hoe just short for whore the fuck are you talking about is that what it is yeah i think so of course that's what that is in slang, but I'm talking about...
Starting point is 00:38:00 Oh, and a rake is actually called a rake? A rake is actually both things, like, officially. He might be right. He might be right. A rake is probably in the dictionary as both. I'm talking about dicks. Shinary.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Harley-Nor. I'm upset by that. Either way, I think one of you won a million dollars, right? It's probably him. I say him. Why couldn't you say me? We tied on one question. I don't know if we got any others right.
Starting point is 00:38:26 So we split 500k. Sure. All right. Hell yeah. I'll wire it to you. Serendipity, baby. Serendipity. Don't forget.
