Who have it, Tickets. Who wrote this book? Moses. Why was this book written? Loveticus shows the Israelites how to worship God and live a holy life.
Starting point is 00:00:39 What happens in this book? Moses gives the people and the priests of Israel God's instructions. What do we learn about God in this book? God is holy and expects his people to be holy. God accepts sacrifices. and forgives people who sin. What people are important in this book? The important people in this book are Moses and Aaron.
Starting point is 00:01:13 When did this happen? God's instructions were given about 1445 BC. Where did this happen? The Israelites were camped at Mount Sinai when these instructions were given. What are some of the stories in this book? Aaron is ordained high priest, Leviticus 8. Aaron's sons disobey God.
Starting point is 00:01:42 Leviticus 10. God sets special holidays. Levitticus 23. The burnt offering, one. The Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tantam meeting. He said, Speak to the Israelites and say to them, when any of you brings an offering to the Lord,
Starting point is 00:02:07 bring has your offering an animal from either the herd or the flock. If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he is to offer a male without defect. He must present it at the entrance to the tent of meeting so that it will be acceptable to the Lord. He is to lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering And it will be accepted As we have to make atonement for him
Starting point is 00:02:39 He is to slaughter the young bull before the Lord And then Aaron's sons The priest shall bring the blood And sprinkle it against the altar On all sides at the entrance To the tent of meeting He is to skin the burnt offering and cut it into pieces.
Starting point is 00:03:01 The sons of Aaron, the priests are to put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire. Then Aaron's sons, the priests shall arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat, on the burning wood that is on the altar. He is to wash the inner parts in the legs with water,
Starting point is 00:03:27 and the priest, is to burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, pleasing to the Lord. The offering is a burnt offering from the flock, from either the sheep or the goats. He is to offer a male without effect. The sons of Aaron, the priest, are to put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.
Starting point is 00:03:55 Then Aaron's sons, the priest shall arrange the pieces, and clean the head and the fat on the burning wood that is on the altar. He has to wash the inner parts and the legs with water, and the priest is to burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, and a Roma pleasing to the Lord. He is to wash the inner parts in the legs with water. and the priest is to bring all of it and burn it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
Starting point is 00:05:10 At the offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, he is to offer a dove or a young pigeon. The priest shall bring in to the altar, ring off the head and burn it off, on the altar. Its blood shall be drained on the side of the altar where the ashes are. He shall tear it open by the wings, not severing it completely, and then the priest shall burn it on the wood that is on the fire. On the altar, it is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire and aroma pleasing to the Lord. The grain offering. When someone brings a grain of offering to the Lord,
Starting point is 00:06:05 his offering is to be a fine flower. What is a burnt offering? Did you know? 1.9. When the Israelites made a sacrifice or offering to God, they burned an animal on a special altar. Special laws told priests the priests and the people just how to me. make burnt offerings. Burnt offerings were offered every morning and evening.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Double burnt offerings were brought on the Sabbath. Extra ones were also brought on feast days. He is to pour oil on it, put incense on it, and take it to Aaron's sons. The priest shall take a handful of fine flour and oil together with all the incense and burn this has a memorial portion on the altar. An offering made by fire and aroma pleasing to the Lord. The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons. It is the most holy part of the offerings made to the Lord by fire.
Starting point is 00:07:18 If you bring grain offering baked in an oven, it is to consist of fine flour, cakes made without yeast, and mixed with oil or waifers made without yeast and spread with oil. If your grain offering is prepared on a griddle, it is to be made of fine flour mixed with oil and without yeast. Crumble it and pour oil on it. It is a grain offering. If your grain offering is cooked in a pan, it is to be made of fine flour and oil.
Starting point is 00:07:55 bring the grain of offering made of these things to the Lord, present it to the priests who shall take it to the altar. He shall take out the memorial portion from the grain offering and burn it on the altar as an offering made by fire. And aroma pleasing to the Lord, the rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons. a most holy part of the offerings made to the Lord by fire. Every grain offering you bring to the Lord must be made without yeast, for you are not to burn any yeast or honey an offering made to the Lord by fire. You may bring them to the Lord as an offering of the first fruits, but they are not to be offered on the altar has a pleasing aroma. Season all your grain offerings with salt.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offerings. Add salt to all your offerings. If you bring a grain offering of first fruits to the Lord, offer crushed heads of new grain roasted in the fire. Put oil and incense on it. It is a grain offering. The priest shall burn the memorial portion of the grain, the crushed grain, and the oil together with all the incense, has an offering made to the Lord by fire.
