Welcome to positivity successor. Continue on with the Bible, episode 136. Let's get into it.
Balam's first oracle, 23.
Balam said, build me seven.
In altars here and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me.
Belak did as Belam said, and the two of them offered a bull and a ram on each altar.
Then Belam said to Balam, stay here beside your offering while I go aside.
Perhaps the Lord will come to meet with me.
Whatever he reviews, to me I will tell you.
Then he went off to a barren height.
God met with him, and Balam said,
I have prepared seven altars,
and on each altar I have offered a bull in a ramp.
The Lord put a message in Balam's mouth and said,
Go back to Balak and give him this message.
So he went back to him and found him standing beside his offer
with all the princes of Malab.
Then Balam uttered his oracle.
Balam black brought me from Aram, the king of Malab from the eastern mountains.
Come, he said, curse Jacob for me.
Come, denounce Israel.
How can I curse those whom God has not cursed?
How can I denounce those who are not cursed?
How can I denounce those who are.
the Lord has not denounced.
From the rocky peaks I see them,
from the heights I view of them,
I see a people who live apart
and do not consider themselves one of the nations,
who can count the dust of Jacob or number,
the fourth part of Israel.
Let me die the death of the righteous,
and may my end be like theirs.
Balak said to Belam
What have you done to me
I brought you to curse my enemies
But you have done nothing but blessed them
He answered
Must I not speak what the Lord puts in my mouth
Belam's second oracle
Then Balak said to
Come with me to another place where you can see them
You will only see a part of it but not all of them
and from there cursed them for me, so he took him to the field of Zephone on the top of Piscah.
And there he built seven altars and offered a built bull and a ram on each altar.
But Lamb said to Black, stay here beside your offering while I meet with him over there.
The Lord met with Balam and put a message in his mouth and said,
Go back to Belak and give him this message.
So he went to him and found him standing beside his offering with the princes of Mawab.
Balak asked him, what did the Lord say?
Then he uttered his oracle.
Arise, Balak, and listen.
Hear me, son of Zaboy.
God is not a man.
that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?
I have received a command to bless.
He has blessed and I cannot change it.
No misfortune is seen in Jacob, no misery observed in Israel.
The Lord their God is with them.
The shadow of the king is among them.
God brought them out of Egypt.
They have the strength of a wild ox.
There is no sorcery against Jacob,
no divination against Israel.
It will now be set of Jacob and of Israel.
See what God has done.
The people rise like a lioness.
They rouse themselves like a lion that does not rest
till he devours his prey
and drinks the blood of his victim.
them. Then Balak said to Belam, neither curse them at all nor bless them all.
Belam answered, did I not tell you I must do whatever the Lord says?
Belam's third oracle. Then Balak said to Belam, come let me take you to another place.
Perhaps it will please God to let you curse them for me back from there.
and Balak told Balam to the top of Pivore overlooking the wasteland.
Belam said, build me seven altars here and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me.
Belak did as Belam had said and offered a bull and a ram on each shelter.
24.
Now when Belam saw that it was pleased to the Lord, it was pleased the Lord to bless.
Israel and not resort to sorcery at other times, but turned his face toward the desert.
When Belam looked out in Saul, Israel, encamped, tribe by tribe, the spirit of God came upon him,
and he uttered his oracle.
The oracle of Balam's son of Bior, the oracle of one whose eyes see clearly, the oracle of one
who hears the words of God, who sees a vision from the altar.
Almighty, who follows prostate and whose eyes are open.
How beautiful are your tents, O Jacob.
You're enjoying places, O Israel.
Like valleys, they spread out, like gardens beside a river,
like aloes planted by the Lord, like cedars beside the waters.
Water will flow from their buckets.
Their seed will have abundant water.
Their kingdom will be.
greater than agag. Their kingdom will be exalted. God brought them out of Egypt. They have the strength
of a wild ox. They devour hostile nations and break their bones and pieces. With their arrows,
they pierced them. Like a lion, they crouch and lie down, like a lioness who dares to rouse them.
May those who bless you be blessed
And those who curse you be cursed
Then
Bullack singer
burned against Belam
He shucked his hands together and said to him
I summon you to curse my enemies
But yeah blessed them
These three times
Now leave that once and go home
I said I will reward
I would reward you handsomely
But the Lord has
kept you from being rewarded.
Belam answered,
Balak, I did not tell the messenger
she sent me.
Even if Belak gave me his palace
filled with silver and gold,
I could not do anything in my own
according, good or bad,
to go beyond the command
of the Lord, and I must
say only what the Lord says.
Now I am going back to my
people, but come
let me warn you of
this people who will do
to your people in days to come.
Balam's fourth oracle.
Then he uttered his oracle.
The oracle of Balam, son of Beor,
the oracle of one whose eyes see clearly.
The oracle of one who hears the words of God,
who has knowledge of the most high,
who sees a vision from the Almighty,
who falls prostate in whose eyes are open.
I see him, but not now.
I behold him, but not near.
A star will come out of Jacob.
A scepter will rise out of Israel.
He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the scholars of all the sons of Sheth.
Adam will be conquered.
Sheer will his enemy will be conquered, but Israel will grow strong.
A ruler will come out of Jacob and destroy the survivors of the city.
Balam's final oracles.
Then Balam said Amalek, in uttered his oracle.
Amalek was first among the nations, but he will come to ruling at last.
Then he saw the Kinites in uttered his oracle.
Your drawing place is secure.
Your nice is set in the rock.
Yet you canites will be destroyed when Asher takes you captive.
Then he uttered his oracle.
Ah, who can live when God does this?
Ships will come from the shores of Kiddham.
They will subdue, I sure and ever, but they too will come to ruin.
Then Balam got up and returned home, and Balak went his own way.
And that's where we're going to stop.
We'll pick back up at Malab seduces Israel 25th.
Did you know what is an oracle?
237.
An oracle is a message from God.
Often an oracle is a message of judgment.
Even though Belam wanted to harm Israel,
the only message God gave Belam was a message of blessing for his people.
