captive to a set as a set as a sara as a see a sira is not as hard as you may think what is hard as you may think what is hard is to
get into the habit of talking with God every day.
Maybe you could start by picking a special time every day.
Think about things for which you want to say.
Thank you, or I'm sorry, or please help me.
Then tell God those things.
You don't have to use fancy words.
You could talk to God like you talk to your dad or mom or a friend.
The question is, can I tell God anything?
The answer is, you sure can.
there isn't a thing you could say to him that would make him stop loving you.
You can tell them when you're sad or grumpy.
You can think him when everything's going their way.
You can lean on him when you're having a bad day.
You can talk to him just like you would talk to a friend.
But you know what?
Your friends might let you down.
Your mom and dad might not always listen, but God will always listen.
and he'll understand.
Question, how do I know God hears me?
Answer is God promises to listen.
God has promised in the Bible that he will listen to you.
Look at P. Psalm 6617 through 19 on page 645.
Now turn to page 1,188 and read,
John 1623, where God promises to listen when you pray in Jesus' name.
Most important of all, Holy Spirit lives in your heart.
He helps you know for sure that God listens when you talk to him.
Question, must I fold my hands and close my eyes when I pray?
Answers, that's one way to do it.
Closing your eyes shows you, you do it.
not you don't want anything to get in your way of talking with god but it's not only the it's not the only way you pray
the only way to pray you can pray while on your knees or staying up you can pray with toys in your hand
or while you're hugging your mom you can talk to god at any time because he's always right there
with you and he wants you to be his friend the lord calls sammy

The boy Samuel
ministered before the Lord under
Eli. In those days
the word of the Lord
was rare. There were
not many
visions. One night
Eli whose eyes were
becoming so weak that
he could barely see was lying
down as usual place.
The lamp of God has
not yet gone out.
And Samuel was lying down
in the temple of the Lord where the ark of God was.
Then the Lord called Samuel. Samuel answered,
Here I am, and he ran to Eli and said,
Here I am, you called me?
But Eli said, I did not call.
Go back and lie down.
So he went and lied down.
Again, the Lord called Samuel.
And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said,
Here I am.
He called me.
My son, Eli, said, I did not call, go back and lie down.
Now, Samuel did not yet know the Lord.
The word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him.
The Lord called Samuel a third time and Samuel got up and went to Eli and said,
Here I am, you called me.
Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy.
So Eli told Samuel, go and lie down.
And if he calls you, say,
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.
So Samuel went to lie down in his place.
And the Lord said to Samuel,
See, I am about to do something in Israel
that will make the ears of everyone who hears of its jingle.
At that time, I will carry it.
out against Eli. Everything I spoke against his family from beginning to end, for I told him that I
would judge his family forever because of the sin he knew about. His sons made themselves contemptible,
and he failed to restrain them. Therefore, I swore to the house of Eli. The guilt of Eli's house
will never be atoned, for by sacrifice or offering.
Samuel laid down until morning and then opened the doors of the house of the Lord.
He was afraid to tell Eli the vision, but Eli called him and said,
Samuel, my son. Samuel answered, here I am.
What was it? He said to you. Eli said, do not hide it from me. May God deal with you.
Be it ever so severely if you hide from me anything he told you.
so Samuel told him everything, hiding nothing from him.
Then Eli said, he is the Lord.
Let him do what is good in his eyes.
The Lord was what Samuel as he grew up,
and he let none of his words fall to the ground.
And all Israel, from Dan to Bereshiba,
recognized that Samuel was attested,
has a prophet of the Lord.
The Lord continued to appear at Shiloh,
and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word,
and Samuel's word came to all Israel, four.
That's what we're going to stop.
We'll pick back up at four.
How old was Samuel when God called him in the night, 31?
The Hebrew word for boy means that Samuel was probably about 12 years old when God spoke to him.
A person does not have to be an adult to listen to God and obey him.
